- 2:48Speaker 3: anything out. So I'm gonna bring her own up and
- 2:52Speaker 3: allow her to introduce herself. Welcome, doctor Dever, how are you.
- 2:58Speaker 4: I'm well in yourself.
- 3:03Speaker 3: That's good.
- 3:04Speaker 4: That's good. My name is Steborah Ivy. I am an author.
- 3:08Speaker 4: I'm a veteran disabled vet. I work for the federal government.
- 3:13Speaker 4: I am a mom of two daughters and a grandmother
- 3:16Speaker 4: of three granddaughters. I've been married twenty two years and
- 3:22Speaker 4: I just love to empower women. And what else can
- 3:26Speaker 4: I say?
- 3:27Speaker 3: Wow, Well, you definitely are wearing a lot of hats.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Thank you for your service. Definitely, thank you for your service.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I thank you for taking time to come on today
- 3:44Speaker 3: and share with us. I want to talk a little
- 3:47Speaker 3: bit about your journey as an author because this is
- 3:54Speaker 3: Women's History Month. You are a part of the one
- 3:57Speaker 3: hundred author's movement. So I want to talk about your
- 4:01Speaker 3: journey as an author and empowering women.
- 4:08Speaker 4: Okay, So I guess some years ago I started writing
- 4:14Speaker 4: about my life about that I've overcome, and I procrastinated
- 4:19Speaker 4: for such a long time about you know, getting this
- 4:23Speaker 4: book out, and so I guess. A couple of years
- 4:26Speaker 4: ago for my birthday, I said I was going to
- 4:28Speaker 4: get it out and I had somebody to help me,
- 4:31Speaker 4: you know, like put it together because I didn't know
- 4:34Speaker 4: the first thing about you know, like publishing a book.
- 4:37Speaker 4: And you know, we did it through Amazon. So that
- 4:40Speaker 4: was my journey. And you know, I feel like a
- 4:44Speaker 4: lot of times, you know, we're told that we can't
- 4:46Speaker 4: do this, we can't do that, but we can. We
- 4:49Speaker 4: just got to you know, put our mind to it
- 4:51Speaker 4: and put that focus to it and do it. So
- 4:54Speaker 4: that was my journey of being an author about talking
- 4:57Speaker 4: about my life. And then I think my second one
- 5:00Speaker 4: was like a journal, like an inspirational journal.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Wow, So what made you just decide to go ahead
- 5:08Speaker 3: and get it out? Because, like you said, a lot
- 5:10Speaker 3: of people, you know, they procrastinate because they don't know
- 5:15Speaker 3: what to do or where to start. So what made
- 5:19Speaker 3: you want to go ahead and get this out?
- 5:23Speaker 4: I was a part of a book collaboration, and I
- 5:27Speaker 4: liked how the person that was helping. I liked how
- 5:30Speaker 4: she set the steps up for us to you know
- 5:32Speaker 4: do this, you know, get out there and talk about
- 5:34Speaker 4: your book on social media, you know, send her your
- 5:39Speaker 4: bio send her your head shot. So that's what really
- 5:42Speaker 4: made me do it because I always wanted to do it,
- 5:45Speaker 4: so I went ahead and did it.
- 5:47Speaker 3: After that, Wow, that is amazing. And you mentioned that
- 5:52Speaker 3: you had daughters and you had grandchildren. What a legacy
- 5:58Speaker 3: that is creating for for them? Yes, it is definitely
- 6:04Speaker 3: an amazing journey. So you say you are you do
- 6:08Speaker 3: empowerment empowerment?
- 6:13Speaker 2: Wow?
- 6:13Speaker 3: Yeah, what made you want to empower empower other people?
- 6:22Speaker 4: I took a a certification of Women's Empowerment certification out
- 6:27Speaker 4: in Kentucky, and you know, like I said a lot
- 6:31Speaker 4: of times, you know, women, we are always beat down
- 6:35Speaker 4: and told that we can't do this, we can't do that.
- 6:39Speaker 4: So once I took that that certification, like, okay, you
- 6:43Speaker 4: know I need to start by empowering myself in and
- 6:47Speaker 4: in turn empower other people. You know, I always send
- 6:49Speaker 4: out journals and be like, Okay, you can do it.
- 6:52Speaker 4: You know, don't don't, don't count yourself out. You can
- 6:55Speaker 4: do it.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Wow. It's nothing like being able to heal, and when
- 7:03Speaker 3: you heal, you're able to help others heal alone. This journey,
- 7:08Speaker 3: you know, I think that that's what it's all about.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Because I'm a spiritual person. So I know that, you know,
- 7:18Speaker 3: alone this journey, things are gonna come, because it shows
- 7:22Speaker 3: us that in the Word. But he also gives us tools,
- 7:25Speaker 3: and he also gives us things that we can you know,
- 7:29Speaker 3: prepare and you know, work through it. You know, we
- 7:32Speaker 3: know it's gonna come, so we have these tools like
- 7:35Speaker 3: you're giving out these tools, you're giving out these empowerment
- 7:37Speaker 3: on tips and things that can help somebody get through,
- 7:42Speaker 3: you know, because at the end of the day, we
- 7:45Speaker 3: know that we're gonna get through. But how we get
- 7:48Speaker 3: through it? It's the question, you know that that that
- 7:51Speaker 3: be the thing, you know, and we ain't been here before.
- 7:55Speaker 3: So while we have is to draw off of a
- 8:00Speaker 3: the people experiences and those things that have been left
- 8:04Speaker 3: to us. And I'm reminded the Word tells us that,
- 8:08Speaker 3: you know, we should do greater works. And I keep
- 8:10Speaker 3: telling people, you know, how would people know those greater
- 8:13Speaker 3: works if we're not sharing them, if we're not doing
- 8:16Speaker 3: the things that you're doing, like you know, getting empowered
- 8:20Speaker 3: so that you can go out here and empower other individuals,
- 8:24Speaker 3: you know, so that they can come out of what
- 8:26Speaker 3: they're going through, so that they can do the same
- 8:29Speaker 3: for the next person. I tell people it's to rip affects.
- 8:33Speaker 3: You know, once you get once you grab hope to
- 8:35Speaker 3: that pebble and you toss it out there in that
- 8:38Speaker 3: river and you let it go and it just begin
- 8:41Speaker 3: to just those those waves just begin to just riple
- 8:44Speaker 3: off of each other. And that's that's, that's what we're
- 8:47Speaker 3: doing here. I thank you for being a voice, for
- 8:54Speaker 3: allowing your your your the things that you've been through,
- 8:58Speaker 3: your experiences, your journey to help your testimony, to help
- 9:04Speaker 3: others come out and to get through. So thank you
- 9:07Speaker 3: for that. Tell us a little bit about your book
- 9:12Speaker 3: and where can we find it.
- 9:16Speaker 4: Okay, So my first book is Overcoming the Obstacles, and
- 9:21Speaker 4: it's pretty much about my life, you know, me growing up,
- 9:24Speaker 4: you know, my father not really being there. My mom
- 9:28Speaker 4: struggled with four kids, and how you know, we had
- 9:31Speaker 4: to move to the projects, and even though you know
- 9:34Speaker 4: she had the four kids, you know, we struggled, but
- 9:38Speaker 4: you know she always you know, made a way for us.
- 9:41Speaker 4: And so coming up, you know, I wanted better for
- 9:44Speaker 4: my kids. I wanted better for my kids. I mean,
- 9:47Speaker 4: I didn't want to have to struggle with my kids.
- 9:49Speaker 4: But it's like I went into the military. I was
- 9:52Speaker 4: about seventeen. I turned eighteen into the military. When I
- 9:55Speaker 4: was in the military for my birthday, and so it's
- 9:58Speaker 4: just that, you know, I wanted to you know, make
- 10:01Speaker 4: sure that I had a legacy to leave my kids.
- 10:03Speaker 4: I wanted to make sure that my kids didn't struggle
- 10:06Speaker 4: like I did. So I went into the military. I
- 10:12Speaker 4: did sixteen years. I did an early retirement because of
- 10:16Speaker 4: some medical issues, went into the you know, work for
- 10:19Speaker 4: the government, and you know, got my bachelor's degree, got
- 10:22Speaker 4: my master's degree, got an honorary doctorate degree. So I
- 10:26Speaker 4: wanted my kids to know that, you know, just because
- 10:30Speaker 4: you come from you know, certain circumstances, you can come
- 10:34Speaker 4: out of that. You can you can achieve anything that
- 10:37Speaker 4: you put your mind to.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Wow, and that is so amazing because I'm sitting here
- 10:44Speaker 3: and I'm just just just things just running through my mind.
- 10:47Speaker 3: You know, your journey is my journey is similar to
- 10:49Speaker 3: your journey because I think you're a little older than me.
- 10:53Speaker 3: I went through the same thing growing up in the
- 10:56Speaker 3: country and you know, didn't have to live in the project,
- 11:00Speaker 3: but living in you know, not having as much as
- 11:05Speaker 3: other people had, you know, I grew up on like
- 11:07Speaker 3: a farm area in the country, so you know, it
- 11:11Speaker 3: was kind of different. You know, if we didn't grow it,
- 11:14Speaker 3: you know, if we didn't form it, if we didn't
- 11:16Speaker 3: grow it. A lot of the times we didn't have it.
- 11:19Speaker 3: So I truly understand and then being able to, you know,
- 11:24Speaker 3: be in a place like I think I was one
- 11:26Speaker 3: of the first girls in my family two go off
- 11:31Speaker 3: to college, you know, to even play sports, and to
- 11:35Speaker 3: even get a scholarship. You know, it was none heard
- 11:40Speaker 3: of in my family. But now I have a nephew
- 11:44Speaker 3: that has a master's degree. Matter of fact, he just
- 11:48Speaker 3: texts me telling me he's going through customs now, getting
- 11:51Speaker 3: ready to get on the plane. He's in the military,
- 11:54Speaker 3: you know, And I'm grateful, you know that we were
- 11:58Speaker 3: able to break that general because in my family, everybody
- 12:04Speaker 3: worked in meals and plants, and you know, all people
- 12:08Speaker 3: know was to work in warehouses. That's that's all they knew.
- 12:11Speaker 3: You know, that their thing was to go and work
- 12:14Speaker 3: at one of the top fortune five hundred warehouses like
- 12:19Speaker 3: BMW and in places like that that that that's their goal.
- 12:23Speaker 3: That wasn't mis you know, I didn't want to go
- 12:26Speaker 3: work at the meal, I didn't want to go work
- 12:27Speaker 3: in the plant, so I wanted to do something different.
- 12:30Speaker 3: So how I ended up here. This was not part
- 12:34Speaker 3: of the plan. This was not something that I dreamed of.
- 12:39Speaker 3: This is not something that I had on my on
- 12:42Speaker 3: my cars, even being an author. You know, a lot
- 12:45Speaker 3: of the stuff that I'm walking into, I never dreamed
- 12:48Speaker 3: of doing it. But God had plans for me, you know.
- 12:52Speaker 3: He he he had already mapped it out, he had
- 12:56Speaker 3: already ordained. It seemed like everything that I wanted to
- 12:59Speaker 3: walk into it he would shut it down. And it
- 13:02Speaker 3: always led towards these things that I'm doing now. So
- 13:07Speaker 3: I tell everybody, you know, just just try to step
- 13:10Speaker 3: out on faith. I had my nephew. He just got
- 13:13Speaker 3: promoted to chief of the fire department in South Carolina.
- 13:21Speaker 3: He just walked up to the fire department one day
- 13:24Speaker 3: and said, I'm about to walk up here and see
- 13:27Speaker 3: if they'll let me volunteer. And he walked up there,
- 13:31Speaker 3: and he come back with one of the walkie talkers
- 13:34Speaker 3: and one of day, what's the name, And next thing,
- 13:36Speaker 3: you know, he was when he graduated from high school.
- 13:38Speaker 3: He never went to college. When he graduated from high school.
- 13:41Speaker 3: They had already gave him a position. He worked as
- 13:45Speaker 3: a for the last year he was the intern chief,
- 13:51Speaker 3: but he was a lieutenant at another fire department. So
- 13:55Speaker 3: I tell you just looking at him and he said, Untie,
- 13:59Speaker 3: he said, I have great role models. He said, y'all, y'all,
- 14:04Speaker 3: y'all made us do this. He said, y'all, y'all, y'all
- 14:07Speaker 3: set the y'all set the standards. So I'm grateful that
- 14:11Speaker 3: I was able to set a standard for somebody to say, hey,
- 14:15Speaker 3: I want to live up to that. And you are
- 14:17Speaker 3: definitely doing that. You are definitely creating a legacy. You're
- 14:21Speaker 3: definitely you bachelor's doctors, masters like you. You are doing it,
- 14:29Speaker 3: Like what a legacy. It is an honor to have
- 14:33Speaker 3: you here today, Like I want you to share, Like
- 14:37Speaker 3: I want you to share with the people whatever it
- 14:41Speaker 3: is that you have laid on your heart today that
- 14:43Speaker 3: you want them to know about you so that they
- 14:46Speaker 3: can stay in contact with you, so that they can
- 14:48Speaker 3: follow your platform. Just that short time that I've had
- 14:52Speaker 3: here with you today, it just made me want to,
- 14:55Speaker 3: you know, find out what more are you doing? Like
- 15:00Speaker 3: how are you empowering? How are you empowering? Well, what
- 15:03Speaker 3: are you doing? Like, just hearing you just say those
- 15:07Speaker 3: words just make me want to just come and just
- 15:10Speaker 3: find out. So how can people get some of your
- 15:14Speaker 3: empowerment tools, get some of your tips? What can they do?
- 15:21Speaker 4: Okay, so they can always reach out to me through
- 15:25Speaker 4: my email m R. S I. V. E. Y at
- 15:29Speaker 4: hotmail dot com. I don't mind sharing tools to empower
- 15:35Speaker 4: I'm also you know, I'm in the I'm in the
- 15:40Speaker 4: process of trying to start a nonprofit, you know, with
- 15:43Speaker 4: my husband, and it's pretty much, you know, like passing
- 15:47Speaker 4: forward blessings you know, to people, because I believe that
- 15:52Speaker 4: my gift is to help others, you know, help find resources,
- 15:56Speaker 4: and I don't mind doing that. You know, That's something
- 16:00Speaker 4: that I'm passionate about, you know, helping others because sometimes
- 16:04Speaker 4: people don't know, you know, certain things, and it's up
- 16:07Speaker 4: to us to help each other. So that's what, you know,
- 16:12Speaker 4: that's laid on my heart, you know, to do community service,
- 16:16Speaker 4: you know, helping out in the community. You know, I'm
- 16:19Speaker 4: a veteran, so I want to give back to veterans.
- 16:22Speaker 4: So those are some of the things that's laid on
- 16:25Speaker 4: my heart.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Awesome, awesome, awesome. I definitely. I want you to share
- 16:33Speaker 3: about being a part of the one hundred author's movement
- 16:39Speaker 3: and what that means to you.
- 16:44Speaker 4: So, I mean I've always like watched you, and I've
- 16:49Speaker 4: you know, I've generated a couple of your platforms with
- 16:52Speaker 4: you know, like authors poetry. So I've watched you for
- 16:57Speaker 4: quite some time. And when I saw that. When I
- 17:02Speaker 4: saw that, I saw it on like one of my
- 17:04Speaker 4: friends page, doctor Tina Baker.
- 17:06Speaker 3: It's like, okay, you know what is that about? And
- 17:09Speaker 3: so she was telling me, and I was like, oh, I.
- 17:11Speaker 4: Gotta jump over now, because I want to you know,
- 17:14Speaker 4: get more out there with you know, writing books, just
- 17:17Speaker 4: getting my brand out there and just you know, learning
- 17:21Speaker 4: all that I can learn and network with like minded people.
- 17:24Speaker 4: So you know, I think that, you know, this platform
- 17:29Speaker 4: is going to push me to greater heights, greater exposure.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Awesome, awesome, awesome. What are two things that you would
- 17:40Speaker 3: love to take away from this platform?
- 17:43Speaker 4: I mean I would love to take away you know,
- 17:48Speaker 4: building my brand and you know, just networking with people,
- 17:52Speaker 4: because it seems like the people that I've come in
- 17:54Speaker 4: contact with, you know, everybody is willing to share, everybody
- 17:59Speaker 4: is you know, just just willing to just step out there,
- 18:02Speaker 4: and nobody seems to be you know, like selfish or
- 18:06Speaker 4: holding back any information that can help somebody else.
- 18:10Speaker 3: And that's what it's all about, you know. I have
- 18:13Speaker 3: these four sess what was dropped in my spirit, and
- 18:18Speaker 3: it is to connect, collaborate, create, and to build a community.
- 18:23Speaker 2: You know.
- 18:24Speaker 3: I want people to have a safe space where they
- 18:26Speaker 3: feel comfortable in sharing, where they don't feel like people
- 18:30Speaker 3: are using them, taking advantage of them, and all of
- 18:32Speaker 3: those things, because you hear it so often, and I
- 18:35Speaker 3: mean you hear it constantly in this arena, you know.
- 18:40Speaker 3: And I want people to know that, you know, you
- 18:42Speaker 3: don't have to go broke trying to be an author,
- 18:45Speaker 3: that their resources out there if you just do the work.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Sometimes you just gotta you know, do a little work,
- 18:51Speaker 3: do a little research.
- 18:52Speaker 1: You know.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Sometimes I may know something that you don't know. It's
- 18:57Speaker 3: just simply I like to top on them phone. I
- 19:00Speaker 3: like for people to pick up the phone and call me.
- 19:02Speaker 3: If you don't know, just pick up the phone and
- 19:04Speaker 3: call me. And that's, you know, see if we can
- 19:08Speaker 3: help each other. You know, I don't mind. I've had
- 19:11Speaker 3: authors tell me that they were stuck. They didn't know,
- 19:15Speaker 3: you know what to do now, you know. And I
- 19:17Speaker 3: sit with the author on the phone. We talked for
- 19:19Speaker 3: about two hours and when we got off the phone,
- 19:21Speaker 3: she was just like wow. She was like, I never
- 19:23Speaker 3: thought of a lot of this stuff, she said, wow.
- 19:27Speaker 3: And I tell people all the time, you know, God
- 19:29Speaker 3: drops stuff in my spirit and it don't be for me.
- 19:32Speaker 3: It be for me to give it to other people,
- 19:34Speaker 3: you know. And I'm always trying to share stuff. I
- 19:38Speaker 3: want people to thrive, you know, if we're thriving, if
- 19:43Speaker 3: we're going to the next level. Like, I don't want
- 19:45Speaker 3: people to always think that, you know, they got to
- 19:47Speaker 3: come and sit up under Angela. No, I want you
- 19:50Speaker 3: to be a leader so that you can bring people up,
- 19:53Speaker 3: so that you can bring up the next group, so that, hey,
- 19:56Speaker 3: you can always come back over here and say, miss Angela, Hey,
- 19:58Speaker 3: what you got going on?
- 19:59Speaker 2: Now?
- 20:00Speaker 3: What can we get involved in? And then we keep
- 20:03Speaker 3: doing it, and we do it over and over and over,
- 20:05Speaker 3: and guess what, That's how we all grow, and that's
- 20:08Speaker 3: how we all thrive, and that's how we make sure
- 20:11Speaker 3: the generations coming behind us are equipped and ready. And
- 20:16Speaker 3: I'm so grateful to be in the midst of seasoned
- 20:21Speaker 3: individuals like you guys, because y'all may think y'all are
- 20:25Speaker 3: getting a lot from me, but I get a lot
- 20:27Speaker 3: from y'all, y'all, I pull a lot from you guys.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Like sometimes I have to just sit back and be like, Okay, Angela,
- 20:37Speaker 3: go over here and see what so and so doing,
- 20:41Speaker 3: so you can kind of relax and come down because
- 20:46Speaker 3: I be all over the place sometime trying to keep up.
- 20:48Speaker 3: I'm in school, So I got two more weeks, fingers crossed,
- 20:54Speaker 3: two more weeks and I'll be walking with my masters. Okay,
- 20:58Speaker 3: breaking those generations curses, you know, Because I I was,
- 21:04Speaker 3: I was on the road to head it back down
- 21:06Speaker 3: that path, dropped out of college. And I said, you
- 21:10Speaker 3: know what about three years ago, I said, you know what,
- 21:14Speaker 3: it's coming up on thirty years I've been out of
- 21:15Speaker 3: high school. I said, Angela, is this really what you
- 21:19Speaker 3: want to do? I said, going back to school. My
- 21:21Speaker 3: nephew encouraged me, and I went back. He was actually
- 21:24Speaker 3: working on his masters, And believe it or not, because
- 21:28Speaker 3: of all of the schooling that I've done prior, it
- 21:31Speaker 3: didn't even take me long to get my degree. When
- 21:34Speaker 3: when I got my degree. When I walked with my degree,
- 21:37Speaker 3: they told me I had an associate too. Didn't even
- 21:39Speaker 3: know I was going for an associate, but they told
- 21:41Speaker 3: me I had an associate too. So I got an
- 21:42Speaker 3: associate in a bachelor's at the same time. And then
- 21:45Speaker 3: now in two weeks, I well, this week, next week,
- 21:49Speaker 3: I'll be finished with my masters. So I'm grateful I
- 21:54Speaker 3: can go ahead and say I'll be finished with it
- 21:55Speaker 3: because I got a ninety eight in the class. Ain't
- 21:57Speaker 3: no way I can miss that up now, And no
- 22:01Speaker 3: way I have to be crazy to mess that up.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Ain't no way I can miss that ninety eight. I
- 22:05Speaker 3: worked hard for that one. So I'm excited. I'm excited.
- 22:11Speaker 3: That's thank you. I see you guys.
- 22:15Speaker 2: I see y'all.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Getting them doctorial degrees, and I'm like, they don't put
- 22:18Speaker 3: in all this work. I said, I got to go back.
- 22:22Speaker 3: I got to do this. I got to do this.
- 22:23Speaker 3: And then my nephew encouraged me. He was like, until
- 22:26Speaker 3: you can do it. He was like, you can do it.
- 22:28Speaker 3: And then he told me, he said, untie, now you're
- 22:29Speaker 3: over there doing too much. Now, he said, you're able
- 22:31Speaker 3: to make an a's. He said You're making it hard
- 22:33Speaker 3: for these accountants, he said, because we don't make a's
- 22:36Speaker 3: an accountants, he said, we usually get b's and season
- 22:38Speaker 3: and they give us those. They push us up. If
- 22:41Speaker 3: we get an A, they give it to it. So
- 22:43Speaker 3: he was like, until you need to slow down over there.
- 22:45Speaker 3: But he was my tutorer. Yeah, so I told him,
- 22:49Speaker 3: I say, well, you did your job. I said, you
- 22:51Speaker 3: learned so that you can teach me Andy, But yes,
- 22:57Speaker 3: enough about me, enough about me. What do you have
- 23:03Speaker 3: plan for the rest of twenty twenty five because we
- 23:06Speaker 3: only three months in what what do you have planned?
- 23:10Speaker 4: Well, as I mentioned earlier, me and my husband were
- 23:13Speaker 4: talking about, you know, starting a nonprofit, so that's one thing.
- 23:18Speaker 4: And then I'm always looking to learn. I'm looking to learn,
- 23:23Speaker 4: you know, like some continuing education credits. I want to,
- 23:27Speaker 4: you know, learn Spanish. I've been doing the dual lingo
- 23:33Speaker 4: at not as uh I guess, not as committed like
- 23:37Speaker 4: I should with the Spanish. And then one of my friends,
- 23:42Speaker 4: you know, she's Spanish, so you know, she kind of
- 23:44Speaker 4: helped me sometimes. But those are two you have.
- 23:49Speaker 3: You also have two two young ladies in the in
- 23:54Speaker 3: the authors group that speak Spanish. They're from the islands.
- 23:59Speaker 3: One is from one is from where they both are
- 24:03Speaker 3: from the Virgin Islands, but one was born in the
- 24:05Speaker 3: Dominican Republican but they both speak Spanish. So okay, yeah, yes,
- 24:14Speaker 3: we write in the mix. Yeah, we have a lot
- 24:17Speaker 3: of tools. We have a lot of tools. So I'm
- 24:19Speaker 3: excited for you. I'm excited about the nonprofits. So you
- 24:22Speaker 3: definitely have to keep us posted up updated on that.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Definitely want you to tell and share about that. Okay,
- 24:31Speaker 3: definitely that. What about any writing projects, got anything coming
- 24:37Speaker 3: up in the writing avenue?
- 24:39Speaker 4: Well, I have an idea for a collaboration book about marriage,
- 24:47Speaker 4: you know, some of the things that you know people
- 24:49Speaker 4: went through and what did they do to kind of
- 24:52Speaker 4: like get through. So that's, you know, something that I'm
- 24:55Speaker 4: working on. And then my daughter, you know, she wants
- 25:01Speaker 4: to become an author, so I want to help her
- 25:03Speaker 4: with her book because I think she wanted to talk
- 25:05Speaker 4: about relationships.
- 25:08Speaker 3: So cool, yeah, cool, awesome, awesome. I look forward to that.
- 25:14Speaker 3: We have some people in the in the group. I
- 25:17Speaker 3: think we have a couple of people in the group
- 25:18Speaker 3: that deals in that, and we also, you know, we
- 25:22Speaker 3: have a couple publishing coaches, in the group. We have
- 25:26Speaker 3: a couple of professors, so we have we have some
- 25:31Speaker 3: We got some Ammo, I said, we got some coition
- 25:34Speaker 3: in that, so we have some tools if we just
- 25:38Speaker 3: work with the tools that we have. And I also
- 25:42Speaker 3: I've been trying to incorporate this Lunch and Learn series.
- 25:47Speaker 3: I know everybody can't always come on during lunch time,
- 25:50Speaker 3: but it is recorded so you can go back, and
- 25:53Speaker 3: I try to do clips so that we can try
- 25:57Speaker 3: to keep information flowing. Everybody wants to know how I
- 26:00Speaker 3: get my books in all these different places. I actually
- 26:03Speaker 3: did a two day talk on how I get my
- 26:07Speaker 3: books and all those different places. I showed them how
- 26:09Speaker 3: to upload it to the different platform that I use
- 26:13Speaker 3: to be able to get it in those different places.
- 26:16Speaker 3: I also did a I did a live on funneling
- 26:21Speaker 3: because people often want to know, you know, what they
- 26:24Speaker 3: can do with their books and stuff, So I did
- 26:27Speaker 3: a thing on that. I'm not really big on it.
- 26:31Speaker 3: I don't know a lot of about it, but I
- 26:33Speaker 3: shared what I knew. And there's a guy because I
- 26:37Speaker 3: saw I stayed. I stood in for a guy. He
- 26:41Speaker 3: was supposed to been there, but someone had an accident
- 26:45Speaker 3: in his family. So he had to go to the
- 26:46Speaker 3: emergency room with them, but he's gonna come back. That's
- 26:50Speaker 3: his thing, So he's gonna come back and share with us.
- 26:53Speaker 3: So we have a lot of tools, and we have
- 26:55Speaker 3: a lot of different things that are gonna be coming
- 26:57Speaker 3: for I'm gonna be spending more time within the group,
- 27:02Speaker 3: working with the group leaders and doing a lot of
- 27:05Speaker 3: the stuff trying to, you know, to get people active,
- 27:09Speaker 3: because I do a lot of challenges too, to you know,
- 27:12Speaker 3: try to get individuals to engage with each other. There's
- 27:17Speaker 3: some authors that have really been you know, shouting out
- 27:20Speaker 3: to other authors and you know, really promoting each other,
- 27:23Speaker 3: and that's what I'm trying to get everybody to do.
- 27:25Speaker 3: So we're working on it. Now that I'm getting close
- 27:29Speaker 3: to getting out of school, I can spend more time.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I can really devote more time to it. So I'm excited.
- 27:36Speaker 3: I'm excited. So you tell your daughter to go ahead
- 27:39Speaker 3: and get on that book, and we're gonna be looking
- 27:45Speaker 3: forward to that. So what what else would you like
- 27:51Speaker 3: for the audience, for those that may have never had
- 27:55Speaker 3: a chance to hear you, what what would you like
- 27:58Speaker 3: for them to know about you?
- 28:03Speaker 4: I would like them to know that I'm one of
- 28:05Speaker 4: these type of people that always set goals for myself
- 28:08Speaker 4: each year, like things that I want to accomplish. I'll
- 28:11Speaker 4: set goals and then I'll you know, like set small
- 28:14Speaker 4: goals to kind of like accomplish them. So that's the
- 28:17Speaker 4: type of person that I am. So any goal, if
- 28:21Speaker 4: I said I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it.
- 28:24Speaker 3: So any any personal vowels that we not talked about
- 28:30Speaker 3: yet that we want to do. Any bucket list, anything that.
- 28:34Speaker 4: I don't really believe in, like bucket lists because to me,
- 28:37Speaker 4: that sounds like you're dead. But always have like these
- 28:40Speaker 4: wish lists, you know, like of stuff that I want
- 28:43Speaker 4: to do. Like one year, I said I wanted to
- 28:47Speaker 4: conquer my fear of heights, and so I did a
- 28:50Speaker 4: skydive in the tandem sky dive. So it's you know,
- 28:53Speaker 4: it's stuff like that.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Wow, I think we When you said that, I kind
- 29:02Speaker 3: of I thought I was over my fear. I got
- 29:05Speaker 3: on the I used to go to six Flags because
- 29:09Speaker 3: I lived in Atlanta where I'm back here now, but
- 29:13Speaker 3: I used to go to six Flags a lot, and
- 29:16Speaker 3: I used to be scared of heights. So I think
- 29:18Speaker 3: my nephew took me out on the the free fall,
- 29:22Speaker 3: and I thought I had got over that. But when
- 29:24Speaker 3: you said you did bungee jumping, I'm like, you did
- 29:30Speaker 3: sky Yeah, I want to do that too. But I'm
- 29:35Speaker 3: looking at my niece. No bench, she did a whole
- 29:37Speaker 3: bunch of stuff. She know, been out on the cliff
- 29:40Speaker 3: and you know, been swinging out because she don't been
- 29:42Speaker 3: to all kinds of different countries. She's always somewhere. She
- 29:47Speaker 3: loves to stay on the other side of the country.
- 29:50Speaker 3: I've never seen somebody travel so much. I think she
- 29:54Speaker 3: got I think she ran out of space on her passport.
- 29:56Speaker 3: She had to get another. Yeah, I want to be
- 30:00Speaker 3: like that. I told them to keep traveling because I
- 30:01Speaker 3: want to be like that when I grow up.
- 30:03Speaker 2: I just do it. Just do it.
- 30:08Speaker 3: And that's the second time I know heard just do it.
- 30:12Speaker 2: I'm just do it.
- 30:15Speaker 3: So I'm just gonna do it. I said that about planes,
- 30:19Speaker 3: and now I can't stay out a plane, even though
- 30:21Speaker 3: they keep having all this this, I just can't get remember.
- 30:26Speaker 3: I can't help it. It just I can't getting in
- 30:30Speaker 3: a car and driving eight hours and six hours, I
- 30:34Speaker 3: just can't see it. For the lights of me no more.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Now that I've learned how to fly and to fly lightly,
- 30:41Speaker 3: not just get on there with all them bags. I've
- 30:43Speaker 3: learned how to do light flying. So I tell you, well,
- 30:49Speaker 3: I'm excited, and I definitely want to thank you again
- 30:53Speaker 3: for stopping by and sharing with us. Again. I want
- 30:57Speaker 3: you to share with everybody how they can follow you,
- 31:02Speaker 3: how they can support the things that you are doing

- 33:38Speaker 3: or wherever they may be at that moment they hear this.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Okay, The thing that I would like to leave is
- 33:44Speaker 4: that don't let nobody tell you that you can't do something,
- 33:48Speaker 4: because you can. How President Obama say yes we can,
- 33:53Speaker 4: Yes you can.
- 33:56Speaker 3: So y'all have heard it from doctor Debh on tonight.
