- 0:00[SPEAKER_03]: It is unfucking believable.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_03]: It is so powerful to be able to give that to another human being.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_03]: And that's the most beautiful part for me as the photographer to be able to do that and show a woman who she truly truly is.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the be it till you see it podcast, where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm also Logan, prize instructor and fitness business coach.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_01]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self doubt.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: My friends, action brings clarity.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: Each week my guess will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it until you see it.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: Alright be a babe.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: This is a fabulous conversation you're about to hear.

- 1:08[SPEAKER_01]: They had the most amazing questions for me.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, this is person is very unique.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: I need to share their story on my podcast.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 1:16[SPEAKER_01]: I was excited about it when I asked them and now that I've interviewed them, I'm even more stoked about it.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: So you're in for a ride, you're in for a great conversation.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: I hope you feel like you're at coffee with us and chiming in.

- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I want to word, but I'm making it one.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: So here is Brad Walsh of the Empowerography podcast, and let us know what you think.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, be a babe.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we're gonna have a really fun conversation because I already have had a wonderful conversation with our guest today.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: And after having those over on his amazing podcast, I had to have Brad Walsh our guest today over here on the Beat Till You See a Podcast.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: So Brad, will you tell everyone who you are
- 2:03[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_03]: Well, first of all, I'd like to say thank you so much for having me and bringing me on board on your platform.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_03]: I'm excited to be here and share with your listeners a bit about me and what I do.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_03]: So I am based in Toronto, Canada.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_03]: My name is Brad Walsh, I am the host and founder of the Empowerography podcast platform, which was created to help elevate and amplify the voices of women through sharing their stories.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_03]: I also host women's empowerment conference online every year.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_03]: We did our fifth one this year, and that's my thing.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_03]: I love holding space and sharing the stage and shining a light on women to share their stories.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: So cool.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: Five.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: That's amazing.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: Congratulations.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: The first few are so hard.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: And then you get to five.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: And you're like, whoa, I keep doing this.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_03]: Well, next year actually we're doing it live and in person here in Toronto.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, that is amazing.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, a person is so powerful.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but have you always been a storyteller?
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like, have you always been a, like, event producer?
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like, tell us the journey.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_03]: No, the event producing is new because of a powerography.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_03]: Well, new five years new, I guess.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_03]: The story telling, yes, in a way, because I'm a photographer.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_03]: So I tell stories visually through capturing images, through capturing moments in time.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, as story telling has always been a part of the journey.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_03]: My photography, that's my first love, my first passion.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_03]: That's where everything started for me.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_03]: I took a photography class in high school.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_03]: And from the first moment I stepped into that class and into the dark room, it was first love.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_03]: I've been in a love affair with photography ever since, so it's been 35 years there around so yeah it's been an amazing journey there's just something so magical about.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_03]: being able to capture an image in camera and then to develop the film yourself and to see an image come to life on a piece of paper is such a magical and beautiful process.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_03]: I there's not enough words to describe the beauty in that.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_03]: So that's where my journey began.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_03]: I worked in corporate for 12 and a half years as an audio visual tech at one of the big four accounting firms.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of how is that?
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like, how does that, you know, I would never have thought that an accounting firm needed an audio visual tag?
- 4:27[SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, for sure, video conferencing, webcasting, meetings, off-site events, yeah, absolutely.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_03]: There's, yeah, there's a huge need for it, absolutely.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, well, that's so cool.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, at least you got to experience the corporate side of things.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it was, it was,
- 4:47[SPEAKER_03]: But the first six years, I loved it in the last six and a half.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_03]: We're just terrible.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_03]: I hated going to work.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't like my boss.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't love the work anymore.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_03]: I fell at a level that because I was constantly thinking about my photography all the while I was working full-time as an audio visual tech.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_03]: I was running my photography business part-time.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_03]: But at that time, I was only creating arts.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_03]: I wasn't
- 5:11[SPEAKER_03]: photographing people.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_03]: I had no interest whatsoever in photographing people.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_03]: That wasn't my thing.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_03]: It was more architecture landscapes urban exploration.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_03]: Although that shifted a little bit for me during my corporate career because I ended up getting to put it politely tasked with the responsibility at my corporate job with doing the corporate headshots.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_03]: But I fell in love with photographing people.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: You do photos.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: You you can photograph a building.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: You can photograph a face.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, of course.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_03]: And hey, why not?
- 5:43[SPEAKER_03]: We've got this guy on staff.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_03]: He can do this.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_03]: We can save ourselves thousands upon thousands of dollars by having him do it for free.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_03]: We don't have to pay him.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_03]: It's wearing piano and salary.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_03]: So I mean, that's where I fell in love with photographing people.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_03]: I loved having that one on one time of that connection that you would get when you went a person sat in front of your lens.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_03]: It it just created a connection there and so through that I a few a few years after that.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_03]: After my falling in love with photographing people, I was connected through mutual friend to a Boudoir photographer who was based in Florida and I fell in love with her work and the mission and the message behind that genre of photography with what you can help women accomplish in terms of body acceptance, self love, self confidence and I ended up mentoring with her for six months and when I was done my mentorship it was just one of those
- 6:35[SPEAKER_03]: light bulb moments.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_03]: I just knew that that's what I've got to do with my photography business when I make the jump.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_03]: And that's where that's really where my journey into the whole women's empowerment world started is through the Boudoir photography.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, this is so cool.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: I had no idea.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: So we had the girlfriend.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, we had a photographer on earlier in y'all probably hearing this in 2026.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: So earlier in 20 and I couldn't agree more.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like I definitely, so back when I lived in LA at a girlfriend who wanted to.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: work on Bedouard for Talker, which is like, can you just be my practice person?
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, okay, whatever, but then you see the photos of yourself and you're like, I had no idea that I was so beautiful and like that looks so amazing because like, you know, first of all, most of us see ourselves in the lighting of our own homes, which is not up to bar and, you know, mirrors are interesting how they're not consistent.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: So like, you don't realize like the beauty that you have or the power that you have and tell someone does that and yet so many people
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: are afraid of doing that or I think that they wouldn't be good enough for that.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I love this.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: So this is how you got into Taiwan stories and it's okay.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_01]: But that was an easy to switch.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: Was it, did you have like this, because I actually, I'm sorry, I'm getting really excited right now.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm okay.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm halfway through my coffee this morning, guys.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: We are alive.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I love your journey because it sounds like so many people.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's like I did this and I kind of fell in love with it and then I went to corporate and then I was fine and then I got bored and then there was another thing I was doing and so I love this because it's a journey that we all go on.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: But then to make the big switch to doing something you're really passionate about.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: There's still so much fear there.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, absolutely.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, with just back to the photography for a second, that gift that I am able to give a woman of her seeing herself for the very first time, like truly who she is, it is unfucking believable.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_03]: It is so powerful to be able to give that to another human being.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_03]: And that's...
- 8:36[SPEAKER_03]: the most beautiful part for me as the photographer to be able to do that and show a woman who she truly is because as you said, you don't think about yourself.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of the women don't think about themselves that way, but then when they see the images and they see who they truly are and how they're captured.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_03]: It's inner and outer beauty and it is so magical that transformation that takes place in a 90 minute session with me is unbelievable.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_03]: She walks in one woman.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_03]: She leaves a completely different woman and that is what it's about is being able to show a woman herself.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_03]: in a brand new light or a different light, a light that she's not used to seeing herself in or a light that she's never seen herself in.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_03]: That process, it's honestly, there aren't enough words to encapsulate the power in that.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_03]: For me, as a photographer, it's so beautiful.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because you're like,
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: we wrote in something like a storyteller do love, but you are like, it can empower me, powering women do love, you're like, and now go up and impact the world, because it's why I do this show, probably why you do your photography.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's like,
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really good at what I do.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I love what I do.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: But my bubble of influence is this, it's whatever it can be.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: And if I can then influence another woman to be a Toshisi and does something that's so incredibly impactful per bubble of influence.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: And so all of a sudden, like in my world, the way I envision this, it's like we've got all these bubbles.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: And it's, it can cover the whole world then, right?
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: Cause it's not about one person.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's about all the people feeling their power.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_03]: And so with the photography, I got to a point.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_03]: I was probably about two years.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_03]: into my business full time and I started to feel like I love this.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_03]: This is amazing.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_03]: What a beautiful gift.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_03]: This is that I get to do this and I get paid to do this.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_03]: But I want to reach more people.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_03]: I want to have a bigger impact.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_03]: I want my bubble to grow.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_03]: And so I thought, why don't I take the purpose of the mission, the values of the work I do as a photographer and turn that into a transplant that into a podcast where I focus the platform solely on women at the time and even now I don't know of any other platform
- 10:49[SPEAKER_03]: has a man as a host who solely 100% focuses on amplifying and elevating the voices of women.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: Not going to lie, Brad, when I saw what you're doing.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, what an interesting dude.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder why he does it.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_03]: So I thought, well, I'm going to give this to her.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_03]: I had no experience interview.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_03]: I had no idea how to interview someone.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_03]: No clue.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_03]: I just thought, you know what, bucket, I'll figure it out.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just going to jump in.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_03]: So I really showed to seven or eight friends of mine, women who I had met through my photography journey.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_03]: And I explained what my idea was for the platform, and of course it was in its infancy back then.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_03]: But I shared with them and asked them if they would help me get it off the ground by letting me interview them.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_03]: They all said, yes, I did the interviews I created the content.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_03]: And at that same time,
- 11:36[SPEAKER_03]: My photography business started to pick up traction.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_03]: I was getting more inquiries more booking.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_03]: So I thought, OK, I have to have to shift all of my energy.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_03]: My focus to the business.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_03]: That's why I left corporate.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_03]: I shut down the and shelf the podcast focused on the business.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_03]: And then, of course, we hit March of 2020.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_03]: screwed by business.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_03]: I couldn't be photographing women.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_03]: So I thought, okay, well, you got two choices here.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_03]: You can go through door number one and sit around and commiserate and complain about what's going on with over half the world or you could go through door number two and and see this as a gift that we've all been given and use it to put something good out into the world.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_03]: We could use that right now.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_03]: So I reignited the podcast and here we are five and a half years later and
- 12:21[SPEAKER_03]: beautiful, powerful, inspirational, resilient, courageous women.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_03]: You being one of them Leslie and I mean, it is just been such an incredible dream.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_03]: It is an open so many doors for me.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_03]: I
- 12:35[SPEAKER_03]: And at the foundation of it all is my mom, my grandmother, they are the the inspiration for it.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_03]: My mom left my biological father when I was 10 he was running around on her having an affair back in those days, of course women stayed home to raise the children.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the husband was the one working.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_03]: So when I look back on that the fact that she had the strength and the courage to stand up after 15 years of marriage and say,
- 12:57[SPEAKER_03]: No more.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_03]: I don't have to put up with this shit.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_03]: I'm taking my boys and we're leaving.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_03]: And we left with nothing but the clothes on our back.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_03]: We moved into a one bedroom apartment.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_03]: Mom slept on a couch.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_03]: My brother and I shared a bedroom and she had to get a job after being at a work for ten years because she sacrificed to stay home and raise us.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_03]: And so what she was at work, my grandmother would step in.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_03]: So for me, those two women are my heart and my soul.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't be the man I am today without them.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_03]: And then of course.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_03]: all of the women that I've had the honor and pleasure of sitting down with and sharing in their stories, they have all contributed to who I am today.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_03]: Because of their stories, because of the lessons and the insights I've received from all of these women, I take inspiration from every single woman I interview.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_03]: So they have all had a hand in creating who I am today.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: Brad, I couldn't agree more like I feel that in being able to interview people, even people who I don't really always agree with, I'm like, well, that's an interesting way to be good till you see it.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: I probably wouldn't do it.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_01]: But like, even in doing, even in doing that, like, your ability to empathize and see people's whole people, because like, we live in a world where people want to go, that person did a bad thing so they're a bad person.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: This person did a good thing.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: So they're a good person and people are so complicated.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: They're so complicated and when you know growing up, you would hear about like women who left or divorce people and of course the women always gets the shade like because they're doing this divorce divorce.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: And knowing what I know now about when she could get a credit card, when she could get a bank loan, when she like whoa, every single one of those women is the biggest
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: That would have been the hardest thing to do.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: Because the world was against them.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: And so like one strength and foresight and like to make sure that you guys saw something different.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: I am in the mood of like
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: reading and re-listening to women's stories from the past that have been painted in one way and hearing the full capacity of it and you're like, oh, actually, you know, that person is stronger than we thought or better than we thought or cooler than we thought.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_03]: And I mean, then you add into the mix, if they've got children, they have to do what they have to do to help those kids.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_03]: But to your point about hearing the full story, this makes me think of something I just discovered recently is the Salem witch trials and what bullshit that was.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_03]: And what the real truth is, holy shit.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, could you guys we are we are I might have got chills I got chills.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_01]: We are recording this on Halloween But like I actually am in love with the acronym of of which which is like woman in total control of herself like I am like obsessed with the song I'm obsessed with the acronym but you're correct like the Salem witch trials and also just the witch trials in general Which is just like oh she is a healer she had power or her husband's dad and she has got that as real estate Yes exactly
- 15:53[SPEAKER_03]: just killing these women.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_03]: Leave it when I went down that rabbit hole.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_03]: I thought, holy the amount of lies that we have been told about that and how women have been painted in such a horrible light, which is totally false, totally false.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, you know what, y'all, I'm not saying that this is the most accurate statement.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: But I think if you've ever heard a historical woman being painted as a as a horrible person, I would just assume that there's probably a 180 story on that and
- 16:23[SPEAKER_03]: Mary Magdalene.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, you read my mind because like, you know, you're like, oh, she's this poor sex worker.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_01]: Homegirl was fucking rich.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: She was, she was absolutely bankrollin' those dudes.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_03]: It's crazy, this shit I have learned is unbelievable.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'd be like, do you ever, okay, do you ever wonder like, is my whole life a lie, like was my whole life a lie?
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes I'm like, and so I have been reading there's um, there's an Instagram channel that his name is for like I'm not remembering this moment But she like talks about these like women in history that like we've just like erased didn't listen to and I'm just like made myself go every time and I read one because it just makes me realize
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, we are stronger than we've ever been told we are.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_01]: And in fact, like all these stories of history and people, like I think it's like these little digs to make sure women feel, oh, I can't do it.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, bad things can happen, right?
- 17:22[UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_03]: That's horrible.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, like you've been platforming women, you've brought up the word resilience.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I, I'm someone who like, I don't know what's like, let's say you're so resilient.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: And the what some days I just want to go fucking tired of being resilient,
- 17:37[SPEAKER_03]: I just focused on one of the other day and that's exactly what they said.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_03]: I don't wanna be fucking resilient.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_03]: I'm so tired of that word.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm like, you know those punching bags where you hit them and they come back up.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: But again, I'm like, I just don't know if I should get back up or stayed, I don't know anymore.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like, just leave me, let me be over here.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: I guess, like, since you've interviewed so many women who told so many stories, why should we want to stay resilient?
- 18:07[SPEAKER_03]: because it because I think that staying resilient by doing that, you're giving a permission slipped to other women because I think I see resilience as courage and inner strength.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_03]: being getting back up that eighth time after being knocked down seven times.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_03]: That's what resilience is to me.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_03]: And so when I think when women do that, it's a permission slip for others.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_03]: It shows other women what's possible.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I think as much as you don't, you hate the where and I understand, I get it.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_03]: I totally understand, but think about the other women that you are inspiring by doing that.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_03]: And yes, of course, and there's nothing wrong with getting tired of hearing it.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_03]: And maybe maybe you don't have to get up every single time,
- 18:48[SPEAKER_03]: I think that by doing so, you are inspiring other women and showing you are proof of what's possible in my opinion.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're right.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'll keep getting back up.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: But I do.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_03]: I guess I'm like, can't see you staying down anyway.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even think I would know how to.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: But I, but I also, I also want to highlight that you said, like, it inspires others to actually maybe step outside and get outside and I think like, I think that's also why women have to tell their story.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I also think that's why your platform has to exist for women to tell their story, to have a platform.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_01]: If they don't have one, you know, because like, so the other day, you don't know this Brad, but I'll just tell you.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: So the other day, I got a comment on my YouTube channel.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_01]: And it was like, oh, I've loved your videos for so long, but you've been gaining weight.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it was better before.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_03]: It was better, the content was better before you gained weight.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, because yeah, so I, and first of all, they had, so they wrote in Spanish was just fine.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's their language, no problem.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: There's Google Trans, like, so I see this like common in Spanish, and I know enough Spanish to like pick up, and I was like, mmm, that's not saying what it, what it says.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: So I put it through.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: No, it said exactly what I thought it said.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_01]: And then, of course, a couple of my subscribers on YouTube, like,
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: they defended it in the best way that they could, which is the person that doubled down.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: So even if we thought maybe it's a cultural thing, like, look, we have a place in Cambodia and they will ask you, like, point blank, like, why don't you have kids?
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: Why are you bigger?
- 20:25[SPEAKER_01]: Why are you looking so old?
- 20:27[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not, um, here we would take that as, like, well, what an asshole.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: There is
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: If you're heavier or you don't work, you must be rich like so like you know what I mean like it's a different and that's a whole different thing right like to have weight on your bones is sign of money where here we're like a sign of wealth is like can you just be as skinny as possible right and then also like look at a child forever.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_02]: Um, yes.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_01]: So anyways, so they doubled down on it.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_01]: So we are clear that it's not a cultural thing.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: This is their opinion.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_03]: So I, you know, this was a man I'm assuming.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and I couldn't tell from the handle until when I called them out and I said, hey, like, I really hope that when your body changes and it will that you have space and grace for yourself and others and your life that you love because
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: I am for the record since you've called it out 40 pounds heavier than the one I started this channel and I am stronger and I'm healthier and I have more longevity and I will not tolerate fat phobic comments on this channel.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much right and then the person like didn't apologize, but was like, oh, I didn't mean to offend you, which is like
- 21:37[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and then they signed off, and it was a man, and I was like, fucking, why the fuck?
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: Why is it always a man?
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: But there's no one, I will, I will clarify.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: I've had many women say some nasty things too.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: So, so I, so I went to the point of stories, I went on my Instagram account, and I shared the story, and I said, you know, like,
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: I am saying this for the women who actually do have to walk into a room that people question.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like I still go I'm like thin passing right like if we're going to talk about like like I can walk into a man No one's going oh she can she do the exercise like yeah, you know like what what is she doing here like I that doesn't happen to me But there are women who are bigger bodies that that happens to you and so I just you know share like this is wrong like bodies Do not size his bodies is not to turn a third good teacher a good a good athlete none of this stuff
- 22:24[SPEAKER_01]: the every comment was positive.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: Every comment was thanking me for sharing because they felt so seen.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: And so to your point that resilience of like I'm going to get up, I mean, like if I could punch a bag, that's what I would have done.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not a violent person, everyone, but I do think you should put a mask, you know, or scream into a pillow, whatever it is you got to do.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, yes, and so I shared it and we're talking a five hundred comments of women, that is, it was overwhelming how many people like.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: we're saying this is what I or like they'll say like thank you for saying this or some of them were saying this is what I'm afraid of and I had to say like this is why you have to post because people don't see that real bodies are out there.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: They're all the only people who feel like they can post are these 20 somethings and nothing wrong with the 20 somethings if you're listening like enjoy the metabolism you have while you have it like have the best time.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: We do have to, if we have a story, tell it so that we can inspire other people.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, for sure.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_03]: And that, you know what, this is something I love about being a photographer to is, I got to photograph all types of bodies.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_03]: And everybody is beautiful.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_03]: I don't give a shit when anyone says, everyone's body is beautiful.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_03]: It's just a different package every looking at.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_03]: That's all.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_03]: And I love that you had the courage to post about it and share it because I get and this is exactly what I was saying by you sharing.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_03]: Look at all the comments you got.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_03]: Look at all the women that stepped up and said, thank you.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_03]: This is exactly why women need to not need to.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_03]: I shouldn't say that.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_03]: This is why women should be resilient and share and be vulnerable.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_03]: And I know it's not easy sometimes to be vulnerable to share your your inner stuff.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_03]: Think of the impact you can have and who you can help and that's why storytelling is so very incredibly important because and I don't care I've heard many times I don't have a story who's going to want to listen to my story.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_03]: I guarantee you as I sit here right now.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_03]: If you share your story, it will impact one person's life.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_03]: I guarantee it.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_03]: And that's all that we're here to do is have impact.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_03]: So share your story as scary as it might be.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_03]: You can, you can edit it.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_03]: You can decide what parts you want to share.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not saying you have to go and share every single detail of your story, but share your story because you will inspire someone else.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_03]: And maybe by you sharing your story,
- 24:52[SPEAKER_03]: And your struggles, whatever it is, maybe you will help prevent someone from having to go through a similar thing by sharing your story because you're sharing how you got through it.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, oh, I love this.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: Um, okay.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: I also love the idea, like sharing a short even the packs one person because like if we just like who knows, like maybe maybe women are 50 percent of the population, right?
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like let's just make it even.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: Um, if you share one, if you share a certain packs one person, you can impact the whole other half of the world.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: You can impact even just the women around, but you can impact.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: I do think that sometimes we
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: with men sometimes.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: And that's like, well, did any women in their life ever tell?
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like, did any women in their life ever tell them?
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like, hey, don't say the thing that actually, you know what I was or years, hey, when you said that here's a story, like, here's my story, that might change it.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: And that takes courage and conviction.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's not always easy.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: Some barely members suck.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe it's maybe it's a coworker, maybe it's a neighbor.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think it is important that even if we impact one person, we are changing the world and how it sees.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: every time.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_03]: For sure, because that will also ripple out to the person that the people that surround that one person.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_03]: So you are, in effect, impacting more than one person because yes, you've impacted that one person directly, but indirectly, you've impacted the people around her, because it will uplift her and shift her way of thinking.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_03]: It'll shift her mindset.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_03]: It'll help her, which then in turn helps everyone else around her because it lifts her up.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so we've been saying that we should, you know, consider tearing a story of ourselves, we, you know, edit how we want, where do you, like, where do you get started?
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: What makes a good story, like, we got perfectionist listening.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to want to know some action steps.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, just just be authentic.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_03]: Don't bullshit.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_03]: Don't try and be something you're not just be genuine.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_03]: Tell your story, figure out, drill it down to what you want to share first.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_03]: Figure out to what part of this your story you want to share and then just share it with authenticity.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_03]: Just be who you are.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_03]: Don't put on some facade, don't put on a mask, take the masks off and share who you genuinely are because
- 26:58[SPEAKER_03]: I think when you are genuine when you are authentic and I know authentic everyone uses that word, but it's true when you're authentically who you are, that resonates with people people want to see the mess people want to know that you're human if you're portraying this perfect person that's gone through.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_03]: You know, with no struggles, no hassles, no, come on.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_03]: Be who you truly are, share your struggles.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_03]: But again, you could be selective in what you share, just be messy because we are all perfectly imperfect.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_03]: And it's okay.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_03]: I think people will resonate with that more when you're authentic and you're genuine.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_03]: It just it resonates for people, I think.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think so, and I know, like people have really ruined the word authentic.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: We got to bring it back, because it's such a good word.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: I really, and I think, like,
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think some people go, well, you know, Leslie read, I don't have like a tragic story.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think people, because all the stories that here is like somebody like survived like falling off a cliff and then they turned into like some TED Talk speaker and it's like, hold on, like, you know, like it can like your story is so it, it will make someone else feel so seen.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like it doesn't have to be that you're the lone survivor of a car accident.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: You can know, you know, your story matters.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_01]: You're right, you're correct.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: It could be that you struggled in school and then you led you to like doing art and it made you realize like, you know, art tells, I think that we all are harder on ourselves than we need to be.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yes, we are on worst critics, our own biggest hurdles.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_03]: We are terrible to ourselves, terrible.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_03]: And something someone said to me quite a while back is,
- 28:40[SPEAKER_03]: When when I because I went through I negative talk, of course, we all do at some point here and there and I had someone say, would you speak that way to your best friend?
- 28:48[SPEAKER_03]: Would you speak that way to your mother?
- 28:50[SPEAKER_03]: No, of course you wouldn't.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_03]: So why are you doing it to you the most important person in your life?
- 28:54[SPEAKER_03]: You stop the shit.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_03]: You don't deserve it.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_03]: You're amazing.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_03]: You're in quite every single person has a beautiful light within them.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_03]: It's just a matter of finding it and then shining it.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_03]: But surround yourself with the right people, find your like and heart-minded people to surround yourself with.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_03]: Community is everything.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely, everything.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_03]: Community can actually, it's
- 29:23[SPEAKER_03]: community is relationships are currency, and you need them.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_03]: We all need them, but share your story.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_03]: It's so important.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_01]: So I get like what comes up for me on that is like,
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: One, I love that you said, we are the most important person in our own lives.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like, holy moly, like, I've never heard it so succinctly, and it's just like, duh, I am.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: If I don't feed myself and sleep and like, hey, the most important person, yes, of course.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: And so, love that.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, maybe you can share from your own personal experience or maybe from any of the women's stories you've heard.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: When you are trying to be more yourself, authentic, share your story, sometimes your community doesn't exactly like cheer for you.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like sometimes your community puts those little doubts in your head because of their own fears, of their own shit.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_01]: And it requires us to like find either new community or new things to say to ourselves like, did you have to go through that when you were making a big transition from like corporate to being a photographer or being a photographer?
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: What kind of do you handle that?
- 30:28[SPEAKER_03]: So there were a few things when I first, before I was, when I decided I was going to make the jump, I had so many people saying to me, are you crazy?
- 30:37[SPEAKER_03]: There's so many photographers out there.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_03]: How, like, why would you even do that?
- 30:41[SPEAKER_03]: It's so, you have a, you have a good paying job, you have benefit, but I'm not happy.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_03]: So why am I going to stay in something miserable?
- 30:49[SPEAKER_03]: So many people stay stuck in that position.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_03]: Because it's comfortable because it's easy because I have benefits, but they don't want to be there.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_03]: It's not on their heart.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_03]: So why do you think about the fact that we spend so many years of our lives working?
- 31:07[SPEAKER_03]: Why the fuck do you want to be miserable every day?
- 31:09[SPEAKER_03]: Find and you know, you hear the excuse well, I can't because I can't I need money for this.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_03]: I need money for that.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_03]: I've got better.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_03]: Great.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_03]: Those are those are your reasons that you're reasoning.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_03]: find what you love start doing a part time until you can build something up enough that you can do that.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_03]: I know you know working a full-time job and then pursuing this, but I guarantee you if you find your purpose, your passion, something that lights you up that just has create such a fire in your belly.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_03]: It will change everything for you.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_03]: I say it's for me.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_03]: It was like winning the lottery twice.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_03]: Once, because I found my purpose, second, because it impacts people.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_03]: That's what we're all here for.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_03]: So when I first left, yeah, I dealt with imposter.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_03]: So who the fuck am I to do this?
- 32:06[SPEAKER_03]: Why would anyone want to work with me?
- 32:07[SPEAKER_03]: All the things, comparisonitis.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_03]: I would sit there and, well, why is this person, this photographer so far ahead of me?
- 32:15[SPEAKER_03]: When I'm here and I thought I would be here, but all of these things and around that piece of it, I thought, well, when I, so the first thing I did was get a mentor, it was the first thing.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_03]: He helped me get to the point where that comparisonitis and the imposter syndrome, well, the imposter syndrome is still there a bit, but the comparisonitis stuff.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_03]: He helped me realize that my only competition is me as long as I can look back at
- 32:47[SPEAKER_03]: For me, as a photographer and see that my work has grown, my work has improved, that's the only competition I don't give a shit what that person's doing as a photographer.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't matter.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_03]: It has no bearing on me because first of all, the comparing comparing someone that's at their five year and I'm at my two year.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_03]: That's the comparing apples to oranges.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_03]: You cannot compare the two.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_03]: It's pointless, right?
- 33:08[SPEAKER_03]: Secondly,
- 33:11[SPEAKER_03]: No one has, again, speaking about the photography, no one has my eye, no one sees images the way I see them.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_03]: No one provides the client experience that I can because no one else is me.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_03]: That's part of your superpower.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_03]: That's part of your gift is nobody else on this planet can do what you do.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_03]: the way you do it.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_03]: I'm saying.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, anyone.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, look, you're a bad guy.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: I tell people this, I tell people all this.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_01]: I tell people all this.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_01]: You are the only person who can do what you do the way that you do.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter what industry you're in.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter what your dream is.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: Even if two people are baking apple pie from the same recipe, it's going to taste different because of what they put into it.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: What the energy they put into it.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_03]: Give three photographers the same image to shoot the same thing to shoot all three images.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_03]: I guarantee you will be different in some way shape or form because we don't have the same eyes.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_03]: We don't see things the same way.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_03]: And me first kind of attitude to when I first jumped into photography, like I would, I was starting to go in with going to brands companies and say, you know, wanting to collaborate with them.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_03]: And I was going and say, well, what can you do for me?
- 34:24[SPEAKER_03]: Like, how can we work together?
- 34:25[SPEAKER_03]: What am I going to get out of this?
- 34:27[SPEAKER_03]: And my mentor said to me, he said, that, Brad, I'm telling you, you're going nowhere fast.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_03]: You have to shift that mindset and go into these companies and say, how can I be of service to you?
- 34:37[SPEAKER_03]: What can I do to help your brand?
- 34:39[SPEAKER_03]: It will come back to you.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_03]: If you go in with a mindset of service, it's a fucking game changer.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_03]: I promise you.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_03]: it will change everything.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_03]: But the comparison I just the the imposter syndrome, the nerves, the fears, all of that thing, all of those things.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_03]: I, I, the comparison I just know more.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_03]: I don't deal with that anymore.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_03]: I'm done.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_03]: I've got my tools.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_03]: And this is the thing is get a mentor watch videos on YouTube YouTube University.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_03]: It's a great place.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_03]: talk to people, who are in your industry, talk to people that are further along in their journey.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_03]: They have the experience and the wisdom.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_03]: Ask questions.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_03]: It can only lead you up.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_03]: It's so helpful.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_03]: Just trust in yourself, believe in yourself.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_03]: And I know it's easy to say, but I'm telling you, it will change everything.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_03]: once you start to believe in yourself don't worry about competition I'm telling you it doesn't matter what business you're running what company there is no such thing as competition competition comes from lack
- 35:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you are unique.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't agree more.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: We coach a lot of play studios and like, they'll be like, oh, so and so is going with this week's classes and they have this many reformers and I should have the same and I'm like, we're talking about you don't even know if they're successful.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: They look successful because they made it look pretty.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know, that could be a way that their family is right off the business and having a loss.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_01]: It might be purposely there to lose money.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I say that because I had a friend whose whole existence for her business was to bring the couples money down because their tax bracket was really high.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: So like if I was comparing myself to her,
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: who looks like she has it all together, I could have driven my business into the ground.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like you have to, like market research is real, do the thing, but then also like you have to do it for you.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: And the impact I want to make and the service I want to be, I love this so much.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I also couldn't agree more like getting a mentor is like, and this might be a terrible joke, but for those of you, I went to public school, I was homeschooled, I went to private school.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: So I can say this from this experience.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like when you get a mentor, it's like taking your business or your idea or your passion and putting it in a little bit of a private school, putting it in a little bit of a, because you get extra attention.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: You have smaller classes than you, you get someone who's really invested in you.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not saying, like, public school teachers, you're amazing.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for all the work you do.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_01]: But like,
- 37:15[SPEAKER_01]: It just takes your thing to the next level or you can still do all the things for free, but you've got to make sure that you're going, okay, my YouTube University, I, this, it's like a paid for this.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: I like got it.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's the net to make sure that I'm applying those things I'm learning.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_03]: comparison is the thief of joy.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_03]: Do not compare yourself because no one else is you.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_03]: And listen, when I first jumped, before I actually jumped into photography, full time, I was doing free shoots.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes that's what you have to do.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_03]: And that's okay, there's nothing wrong with that.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_03]: I did the free shoots, so I could enhance and hone my lighting skills because I had never worked with artificial light before I had always worked with natural light.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_03]: I had to learn how to pose women properly.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_03]: with Boudoir.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_03]: If you don't know what you're doing with lighting and posing, forget it.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_03]: You're fucked.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_03]: It's over.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_03]: So I can happen.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_03]: I was doing free shoots for friends to hone my skills and to learn about how you learn.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_03]: And I know people say, well, I don't have the money for a mentor.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_03]: And there's nothing wrong with that.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_03]: But what you can do is trade services, maybe find someone you could trade services.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_03]: What you can provide for them into it in trade.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_03]: There's nothing wrong with that either.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_03]: I'm hearing a lot more people
- 38:27[SPEAKER_03]: talk about doing things in trade.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_03]: There's nothing wrong with that.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: And especially like, I think that it's easier to put it all wall up than open a door, you know?
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I think like,
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't have the money and I've been there at y'all.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_01]: I have been homeless.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: I've had like credit cards max of the brim student loans all the things and Today there is a podcast for everything you want to do and that person is giving you a I'm promised you they're giving away all the stuff they coach on for free in the wrong order Yeah, so if you have you either have money or you've time and so what you could do is take that free stuff
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: Figure out the right order through experimentation and not compare comparison and you will get to where you can actually take the money and invest it so it will work out for you, but you have to believe in yourself and I think that's really the hard thing.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: Is that so many people are hoping for other people to believe in them first, and this is where I don't know how to like truly help everyone I want to help.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, how do we get them to believe in themselves enough to take the first step because they really are amazing, you know, and they're just they don't know it yet, you know.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_03]: He just have to support them.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_03]: He just have to do it.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_03]: And you have it.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_03]: It's conversations like you and I are having right now.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_03]: And then taking the time to sit with someone and talk to them and find out, Hey, why you feel, if it's a friend or someone you want to help, why you feeling this way?
- 39:50[SPEAKER_03]: How can we help you get to the next level?
- 39:52[SPEAKER_03]: what can we do to support you?
- 39:54[SPEAKER_03]: How can we get you there?
- 39:55[SPEAKER_03]: Because everyone has the ability within them every single person on this planet is capable of doing anything, anything, anything in the world that they want to do is possible.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_03]: You just have to, it starts here with us.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_03]: We are the foundation for all of it.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_03]: You have to do the inner work.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: You are so, oh, could talk to you forever.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: I really hope this is an episode people like, like, I hope that that's fired up as I am from this, because there's so much possibility out there.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to take a brief break, and then find out what people can find you for all you work with you and your beat action.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Brad, where do you hang out?
- 40:33[SPEAKER_01]: You said Toronto, but where are you hanging online?
- 40:35[SPEAKER_01]: How can people hear more of the amazing tips in these brilliant stories?
- 40:39[SPEAKER_03]: Instagram at Empowerography podcast.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_03]: I website and powerographypodcast.com and Facebook.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_03]: Those are the three places.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_03]: I'm on LinkedIn.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_03]: I'm starting to build up a profile and following on LinkedIn as well.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_03]: But those are the three main is Instagram, Facebook, and...
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, no, I'm with you.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: I with you on the LinkedIn like oh my god if even this is podcast for the over 600 episodes We're at you guys.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_01]: I still haven't gone.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_01]: I honestly here's why I'm at I'm just gonna have someone do it for me.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_01]: I I just like I'm not a corporate person, so I don't get half the stuff that it's doing
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to do other things.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_01]: So that will be my 2026, 2027 goal as to just find someone to just rock that didn't for me.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_01]: But I do love my, I love my partner in the month.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_01]: So y'all go check them out.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: Follow, check out the podcast.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if you want to hear resilience stories from amazing women, like what a great way to fill your cup each week, especially if your community isn't doing that for you.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like you can start with just hearing a story on a podcast.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, Brad, you've actually given us some great tips, but we like them at the end.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: Bold, executable, intrinsic, or targeted steps, people can take to be it till they see it.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: What do you have for us?
- 41:59[SPEAKER_03]: something that my father always said is what's meant for you will never go by you.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_03]: So if you don't get that thing that you are hoping for and don't worry, it wasn't meant for you and something bigger is around the corner.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_03]: I promise you, just be patient, wait for it.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_03]: It will happen.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_03]: The universe always has your back.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_03]: It will never, ever let you down.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_03]: So like I said, if you're not, if you don't get that TED talk or you don't get that job you wanted, you don't get that client you want to work with.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_03]: It's okay, it wasn't meant to be something else.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_03]: I promise you bigger is coming around the corner for you to be patient and wait for it will happen.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's such a good like mantra to have like written somewhere like start your day with it And today with it like because I have to say to myself You're like what is forming will not pass me like what is forming will not pass me because you do get doors like you're like Oh, I'm excited about that someone asked to do something.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: You're like yes, I'm in and they go oh, we're going a different direction You're like oh, it feels so deflating and then you're like you have to remember that like there's another reason why that space is open in your calendar
- 43:07[SPEAKER_03]: But that's right.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_03]: I just sent an email off to invite a guest that I really wanted to have on the show and they came back and they said, sorry, her calendars full.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_03]: So no, and I just said, okay, well, this, I wasn't meant to interview her now and no means next opportunity.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you should got an email back.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's great.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes people just don't even say no.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: And so you're like, should I bug him again?
- 43:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's a door open for later on going like in the new year.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like, hey, how's that calendar?
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like, we can we have the whole 12 months where we want to put it.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: Brad, thank you.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: What a great, well, for me on a Friday interviewing you.
