'Shut up' Senate debates in Maine & Alaska get personal
Maine Senate Debate: During the fourth and final debate between incumbent Republican Senator Susan Collins and Democratic challenger Troy Jackson, an audience protester interrupted the event to shout about the environmental impacts of AI data centers. Senator Collins remarked that the demonstrator was "obviously one of Troy's supporters," prompting Jackson to respond, "Oh, shut up. I don't even know that kid." The Maine Republican Party subsequently criticized Jackson's language as unacceptable.
