Transcript
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Hi everybody, welcome back to Gilmore to stay with Terran Haley, I'm Terra and I'm doing a little solo intro today, because if you were with us back in 2022 or if you benched our entire back catalog, I imagine if you're here, you fall into one of those two categories, we did an episode called rankings.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: It was our 16th episode together that Haley and I recorded, so we were still getting to know each other.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: It was our 16th episode together, so it was very early on in season one of Gilmore to say, and it was an episode where we ranked the seasons of Gilmore girls based on personal and storytelling preferences.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: It was where we proclaimed our fifth and least-fave episodes, especially as we were going into Gilmore revisited, which we did on Patreon, our deep-divery watch,
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: And we have talked about revisiting that episode for years and the time has finally come.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's been four and a half years.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: We recorded hundreds of episodes together.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: We also did our Gilmore revisited deep-dive rewatch where we watched every single episode of Gilmore girls together and dissected it.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: And so we feel the time has come.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: to revisit how we felt about these rankings that we did back in 2022.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's so sweet to listen to, and we figured it would be best to re-air this episode.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: So you guys can listen to it the same way we did before we prepped for the episode.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: That we will be releasing on Tuesday.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: I cannot wait for you guys to listen to it.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: So please enjoy Tera and Hilly Circa 2022.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_00]: Basically complete strangers, still getting to know each other, ranking Gilmore Girls.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: Hi everybody, welcome back to Gilmour to say with Terran Haley.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Terra, this is Haley.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Haley.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: Hi, Terra.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: So, interesting thing happened to me about an hour ago.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: I was sitting outside of my one of my favorite coffee shops in New York.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's called Blue Bottle Coffee.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: I was sitting outside and I was taking notes for the episode.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: And a bird shit all over me.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: Just all over me.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: All over my brand new white ass bidrills.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: People audibly gasped.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like genuinely, like people walked by and went,
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: That's how bad it was.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, good fortune.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like we're showering you with good fortune.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: We're showering you with shit, you know?
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's like it could only go up from here.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's really more of the energy.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that's really what it is.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: So honestly, I walked into today's episode feeling really lucky.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: Fill to the brim with good fortune.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just showered with love, love and love.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's great.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like we should knock on wood or something.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, that just felt like important to do.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: I will say when I saw it on your story, you looked really beautiful.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_02]: You were in your little beret.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: I wore my little beret and my sweater and I was very cozy and comfy.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_02]: Valentine, pink and red.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: You're right.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_02]: It was gorgeous.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: I loved it.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_02]: It was like the original colors that we were going to go with for our branding.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_02]: It was my first thought.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: It truly, truly was.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: And then a bird shit all over me.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: He missed my sweater and my beret, though.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_02]: Well, thank God.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's lucky.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's the luck of it.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: Now I'm trying to look on the bright side because we have a really fun episode plan for today.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm very much looking forward to this.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: There is a correction that I want to issue from last week's episode.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't feel like we have very many like corrections to issue.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_02]: Except for that one time when I said that Jason Ritter was Lauren Graham's husband on parenthood.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_02]: You feel important enough to change.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: It was more of like a wish in my heart, because I forgot about Ray Romano.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and if anyone wanted to tell it to us, it was on our Instagram story.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: But the one that I wanted to do from last week was something that I didn't even remember happening.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: You could have said that like true or false has happened and it would win a complete guess and I probably would have guessed false.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: Was it Lorelei blue a kiss to Jess in the revival?
- 4:08[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: I sent you that Jeff yesterday.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, how do we never notice this?
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: I never remembered that.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: I was looking up content to post on our Instagram, and I was looking for content of Lorelie and Jess, which is rare, because they're never really together.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: And we sort of talked about that last week.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: But it was a situation where I googled it, and that was one of the first things that came up.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: Was like, did you all notice that Lorelie blows Jess at kiss in the revival?
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, no.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: And like, baby, I did when I first watched it.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I didn't have a recollection of that.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: Never.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: Same goes for me if somebody had said true or false this happened, I would have said absolutely never.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I probably would have like, you know, waffled on it for a second and been like, no, that didn't happen.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_02]: But it did.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_02]: It totally did.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_02]: Does that change your lower line and just favorite moments?
- 4:55[SPEAKER_02]: Ooh, that was where the Adendom came in.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: No, because my, one of my favorite moments between the two of them was in that same scene was when she comes in and she's like, you look at Randy Gerberhot.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that would just kind of,
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it wouldn't be the top, but it's definitely up there.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, honestly, it's at the top.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: But it's one of those things where it's not necessarily to be top.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of those things where it's not necessarily an amendment to what I previously said.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's more an extension of the same scene, you know?
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: I love that though.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: I love that that kind of puts a button a little bit on their story arc and how they were so Add odds with one another and then she's blown him a kiss.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's nice.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and like I know a kiss can be blown Socastically, but like she's saying bye to him genuinely like she like both in a kiss and like it's very like we're we are family.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like it's like I'll see you later.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_02]: Catch catch you later Step nephew.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, nothing like a catch you later step nephew rolls right off the tongue
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: But it is one of those things where he is loved by the man she loves, you know, so I love that she has now kind of embraced the fact that he's in
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: There are lives and she probably also sees a lot of the growth and maturity that he's gone through.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's a big assumption on my end, but that move honestly does say a lot.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, it's like a look through the window, if you will.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_02]: When you said that, I was like, we have to bring that up.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_02]: Of course.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_02]: We can't just let that go.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, it's not a correction.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's more of just, like, an addition to.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, a fun fact did you know.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: We'll post it on our Instagram story.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, because it's so cute.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: So speaking of looks through the window and our favorite moments, we have a lot of those to talk about today.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be ranking seasons, episodes, a lot of stories to get there.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, excited.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_02]: I know it's going to be a fun one.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: And this all came about because of the TikTok that I posted the day.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_02]: There's a TikTok trend of like, this is the artist.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, it's meant for like musicians because they're talking about albums.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but I of course applied it to Gilmore girls and you did it as well and ours were very different, which I was not surprised by no, neither was I, but especially I was especially surprised by the fact that our last one was the same.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, but I also feel like that's kind of one of the only options.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: They're
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: There are probably two, and I went with the one that I chose, but I'd say like my two were tied, I just already talked about the other episode in my TikTok, so I was like, I don't really need to repeat it.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: What was the category for the last one?
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: I forget, oh, to see it performed a lot, and we both chose.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: Fred and it's all right for fighting.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: But my second one was they shoot Gilmore's don't they?
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, when do you love to see the dance marathon live?
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: When do you love to see the run around the run around live and Dean's screaming at Rory live?
- 7:45[SPEAKER_02]: And then we sneak off into the back hallway and Dave and Lane are having their cute moment.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like put like seeing that fight at the Gilmore house.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_02]: that's that's that's the theatrical that's the theater of it all.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: But riddle me this what about the whole rest of the episode?
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't seen it in a while but like is that the pinnacle of the episode is that the only reason to watch the episode for me absolutely not.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: I love that episode because that's that episode and worry and Logan saved the elderly news.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good episode.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's a good episode.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_02]: You're right.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: I just and Logan's at the coffee cart, but this is like a hard episode for Laura like because that's when she looks through the window at April and Luke through the tailors.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, with the whole entire town surrounding her.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_02]: That's that episode.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I I love that episode as a whole, but like it's a great episode.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_02]: I would kill just them performing live quote unquote because that section is stuck in a relationship.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, right.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: It was the part of the Friday night dinner so freaking good.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_02]: I know But this also made me like which I already knew like we have very different tastes and Gilmore girls and I would say like from what I've always experienced with people who are Gilmore girls fans You have a classic Gilmore girls taste
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like mine is a little bit more like I think it's a little more modern, personally.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think that it's like the difference between nostalgic gal more girls and more like modern storytelling gal more girls.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see then.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see because we we've we've we're ranking the seasons, but we very specifically are doing it two different ways and the first one is like our preference like our favorites.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_02]: the ones that we think are, it's a personal taste.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_02]: And then we'll do it from what we think is like their best.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_02]: Like a strong storytelling.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, from that end.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: Great.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: You want to go first?
- 9:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_02]: So do we start from the bottom?
- 9:30[SPEAKER_02]: Or do we start from the top?
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: Which way do I want to make people mad?
- 9:33[SPEAKER_02]: Ooh.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_02]: Let's build them together.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: We'll do our, I'll say my last one and you can say your last one.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: My least favorite season is season one.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: Whoa.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, season one over season seven.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: I thought about this so much last night.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_02]: I can't even like, I, yeah, yeah.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: Is it because of Logan?
- 9:52[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, like, but I just, okay.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: If I'm ever going to watch Gilmour Girls, I never pick season one.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_02]: The only reason I'm watching season one right now is because we're doing Gilmour Refits again.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I will say like when it's on, um, what's that channel that it comes on up?
- 10:06[SPEAKER_02]: Is that the name of the I don't have cable.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it comes on during the day.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I could place a couple episodes and if it's on I will 1,000% sit down and watch season one or there's something about it being on cable that I love But like nostalgia like we were talking about wow, haily season one.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: Okay
- 10:23[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_01]: I love a spicy take.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't want to be held to this I will say because like I'm going to change this tomorrow Like I also feel like as we continue to move through Gilmore revisited you might have a different appreciation for it I feel like after after we get through that a little bit of that we'll have to do another
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: a ranking's revisit.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, ranking's revisited.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's a great.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I have to say mine also, like this was hard for me to do because I was like, there are certain seasons like it depends on what mood I'm in.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: They generally don't change, but like it really depends on my mood.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: My least favorite is seven.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I haven't that has not been a secret.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: No one should be shocked by that.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: Season seven for me is just just no, it doesn't bring me any warm fuzzy feelings.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't feel like Gilmore girls to me.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: There are very few moments.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we did ask our close friends what they thought and almost everyone said that they're at least favorite with seven if not the revival.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: But most people are in keeping with you that seven was their last favorite.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, what's your next one?
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you're in the life.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: If you say season two, I'm going to sign off.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: Well, in the call, because I put season two.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: Well, anyway, that's the end of our podcast.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for joining us.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: You're welcome.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to shame you for that.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to give you a little bit of a side eye and like a big fan, no sparkly heart.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'll accept the no sparkly heart for sure.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_02]: But we will get to, you know, we'll get to it.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, yeah, season two.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: All right, what's your next one?
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: It's the revival.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I put the revival as my second to last because once again, it doesn't it doesn't feel like Gilmore girls, but it feels more like Gilmore girls and season seven to me, you know, I get that yeah mine is season six yeah a lot of people don't like it, you know, here's here's why for me, it's just that like
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: And this changes spoiler alert when I rank the seasons based on storytelling, but like I just don't love the conflict between Lorelie and Rory.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think those episodes are just like really hard to watch from like a comfort perspective.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: So that's why from a personal stance like I've a really tough time, especially with those first like the first half of the season.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: And then everything with April and Anna just the
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: you know and I love it for some reason well because like you thrive on the conflict of it all again when we get to the storytelling when we get to the storytelling this is going to deeply shift but from the personal preference standpoint season six doesn't do it for me sure what's your next one season seven okay wow you would rank season seven higher than the revival
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I've said this time I take tech before that like the rumors are terrible and cruel, but honey most of them are true was a trend that people are doing on TikTok and it's trending sound.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_02]: And it's true that because I did that to season 7 and I watched season 7 way more than I watched the early seasons.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's terrible and cruel, but it's true that there's more for me to enjoy in it.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: despite the fact that I hated it, and that's because of Logan, and I'm not going to, you know, I'm bound in the trenches in this terrible story telling for my man Logan.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_02]: It feels like really expensive fan fiction, you know, I'm getting all these random cute moments that like, I've never really gotten before, and I don't really love them because of a cotton flick, just bad, so like, the sweet moments don't pay off as well, in my opinion.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I watch season seven way more than I watch one or two.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're right, it doesn't have that seem like
- 13:42[SPEAKER_02]: I don't get the same warm fuzzy feeling as when I watch my favorite season.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: Sure, but when you're invested in a character and you want to see their story through, I understand.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: And especially if those were the seasons you grew up with, like I did not grow up with those later seasons, I just didn't, I didn't watch those until I was an adult and I do think that that definitely has an impact.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: And I definitely know like it's like a sense memory to know when to fast forward like the moment I know like the moment that a scene between worrying Logan's gonna end I'm like oh get through Chris and Laura like but tell me about it yeah mine is season four and I feel like a lot of people like kind of feel pretty mid about season four very neutral about it yeah it's one of those seasons for me that just sort of feels like it's there.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: I like watching it.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: I like the arc of the season.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's just kind of bland for me, and I don't know if that's because like with the exception of everything that happens in the fallout of season four with like Rory and Dean, and then Jess coming to her and all of that, it's like we don't really get any Rory romance drama, which I actually think is kind of refreshing, so it's why it rests in the middle for me, and you're sort of seeing the build-up of Laura Lion Luke, but I hate Luke's relationship with Nicole.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: and then like, loralize with Jason and then there's all the conflict budding between Emily and Richard.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like one of those things that doesn't feel necessarily comfortable to watch, like because we get Paris and Asher too.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, all Ikey and uncomfy, but like, again, when we get to the storytelling of it all, we can talk about it.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: But I just, it doesn't feel like an nostalgic season, but because it comes after season three, sometimes I'll just kind of watch it as a palette cleanser.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: So this is coming in at
- 15:14[SPEAKER_01]: What is yours?
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: Three season.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, respectable.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: I totally am five five.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: I really do love season five.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: I do.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I like season three.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's just one of those ones that like I don't instantly grab four after I get through seasons one through three.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: I would rather watch that over watching season four or any of the others.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: I would turn to season five first because in my my third.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: from the top is season four.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_02]: I love season four.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like I used to not like it because of like literally all of the reasons that you explained, Raj is just kind of like feeling really mid about it.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: But like in the last couple of years, I've really gravitated towards season four.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: I totally understand that.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: It feels really comfortable.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: And like all of the ways that you said that it wasn't, it's just something about it.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like it just feels like kind of like,
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: nothing much is happening.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're just kind of watching everybody's lives unfold.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it is fun to like watch where you go to college and to watch the relationship between her and her mother and sister.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: I know that's one of your favorite episodes.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: I love and when it comes to like Laura, like finally fulfilling her dream of opening the end and seeing like all the obstacles she has to face and
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there are definitely moments about it that feel comfortable.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's because I also really just love the end of that season.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_02]: Like tick, tick, tick, tick, boom, and afterboom, and Luke can see your face.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: And all of those, like, and like, seeing it in a mall, storytelling wise, I think, is like, it's like a cozy place to settle into.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: Mine is one season one.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_02]: Hmm.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: For me, it's,
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: so warm fuzzy cozy.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: There are so many episodes I skip over because I know that they're still kind of finding their footing as a series, which people found weird that we don't sit and watch.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_02]: Like every time we watch Gilmour Girls, we're not sitting and watching it all the way through.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'll keep it on in the background and let it play through, but like if I'm actually sitting and watching it, I don't know.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: It depends.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: Again, it depends on my mood.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_02]: because we talked about it on our Patreon episode that we like popcorn through all of the episodes that like I'll sit and watch partings for like every night for 16 weeks and never revisit any of the other episodes.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: But I feel like it's stressful to watch them all the way through.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: What I more so do is I'll start in a random spot and then I will let it play through.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: This is kind of let it play.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's less that I start from the beginning and I go chronologically.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's more that I'm like
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like watching this episode today, and then once it's over, I let it play.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, what's your second season three?
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I figure.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: And for me, it was hard to pick between season three and season one, because I would say as an adult, I like watching season one more for comfort, like that's my comfort food, um, because I think that it's such a time capsule, season one.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: But season three was usually my favorite growing up, because that was when Jess and Vory got together, and I was so excited.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 17:53[SPEAKER_01]: And Dance Marathon, which is your favorite.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: And Dave Wikowski was there.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, season three has a lot of fun moments.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's more that like, I don't know, I think it has a lot of really fun episodes that again kind of bring me back.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: But season one has become more of my comfort food lately.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: So those were kind of tied, but if I had to choose season three would take second place for me.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: What about you?
- 18:14[SPEAKER_02]: This one, I went back and forth on because I have had a favorite season
- 18:18[SPEAKER_02]: as long as the season has been out.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_02]: And the second one has been like, encroaching on it more and more, because my second one is season six.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, but it's been like more and more lately, like edging closer to the first spot, but it is still very firmly.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's the second one, which I totally understand.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_02]: And I just, I just love season six.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_02]: So, oh my God, there's so many episodes in that season that I will just like, if I'm going to sit down and watch whole season, I'll sit down and watch all the seasons.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_02]: that one is the one that I could from beginning to end, not skip a single episode and feel great about yeah, and have it.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: It would be season six.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: Interesting.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: Which makes me feel like it'd be my favorite, but it's not.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: Can I tell you?
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there's a single season of Gilmore Girls where I wouldn't skip an episode.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_01]: Even in my favorite season.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: See, season six, I think I would watch every single one.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, not skip a single one.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_02]: I love that, because we're gonna talk about at Garli's favorite episodes in, like, I had the only one that I had a hard time with with season six, because I was like, there's an, I would sit in watch the whole season, cause in my favorite season there, I've once and I would skip.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: Does that make it my favorite?
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's not.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think so.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's not.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_01]: So, okay, obviously season five is your favorite season.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: Which I knew and I totally respect.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: I love that season.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great season.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my God.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's just everything.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: No, I guess it's not everything about it.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's season six my favorite.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's not.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_02]: Season five is my favorite.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I very, you know, 15 year old Haley would not allow it to change.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I really need to respect her opinion.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: season two for me is my favorite always has been always will be i think when i was growing up season three was my favorite but season two i just think is brilliant it's where i think they really hit their stride as a series yeah i think so i will say though i always skip the road trip to harvard that episode i love the road trip being hell out of me
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: I never watch it.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: See, I will say though that do you feel haily and TikTok haily-bell mullin?
- 20:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so she went to a Gilmore Girls trivia recently and she said one of the questions for what?
- 20:15[SPEAKER_02]: Did Loreline worry right in the book at the Cheshire Kat in that episode?
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I was like, I don't know, and it made me realize that I would be terrible at Gilmore Girls trivia.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I think you and I together would be really good at Gilmournell's trivia.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if we were on a team, but solo, I mean, you would be able to answer questions about the latter seasons that I would be like, I don't even remember that happening, like, lower live-blowing just the kiss and the revive, I'd be like, false.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I truly think I would be so bad at Gilmournell's trivia and everyone would be like, oh, hey, he's gonna win, I'm gonna be like, no, I'm gonna get 16th place, like, that was a random number.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_02]: Good to know, but I just feel like I would suck at it for some reason.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I really want to go to a Chemical Girls Trivia just to see how bad I would do.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_02]: I know, we should see that out.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_01]: So repeat for me from like favor to least favorite from a personal standpoint what yours are.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, season five, six, four, three.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_02]: seven revival two and one okay minus two three one five four six revival seven Wow, we'll see if anybody I find anybody aligns aligns with that We'll have to put um like a little question sticker on our Instagram story and see how see how people fall in there Yeah, but yeah, let's do it from like more of like now how we think that like a story story telling how good the season was like like a critical eye Okay
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: You want to go from bottle.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: You want to go from tail to top again?
- 21:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do that again.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: Mine is the same.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's season seven.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think the story telling us season seven.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's just and for obvious reasons and it's not a slight towards the writers, it's just that they did not is a little bit of a slight towards the writers, just that they didn't know the show as well as Amy and Dan.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't know that world as well.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: And so yes, I do give a little bit of a side eye to them, but it's more over about knowledge of the show less about the actual writing that they did.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: It just just we use like a paradigm show.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and it doesn't mean anything because like clearly I like watching it I mean, it's relatively high in my rankings much higher than I think anyone thought it would be because I really don't like it I know it just like I feel like I'm out here in the trenches for my man Logan Huntsberger
- 22:11[SPEAKER_02]: getting through these like really like they just feels like a little bit of an elevated full house at points and it just doesn't capture like the essence of Gilmore girl.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, for sure.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's not me from watching it, but overall me storytelling.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: What's your second from the bottom?
- 22:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think we both have the revival in this web.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: We sure do.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: It just
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: It just didn't do it for me.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was pandering a lot to the fan base, which is totally cool But I also think that I mean, we've talked about the revival before.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if you're not listening to these episodes in order We have a whole revival episode where we talk about our feelings on that.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, do you want to go revisit that?
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's called a revival nothing more.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: What is your I guess third from the bottom season one?
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: Interesting.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I did season three
- 22:55[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay, what about season three?
- 22:57[SPEAKER_02]: Didn't season three.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_02]: It has a lot of really good episodes.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like some of the best episodes have gone more closely than ever season three.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that is a whole, like if we're looking at it from like the entire season, like art, the storytelling of it, it's so inconsistent.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't feel like the arc of the season is as like solid or complete.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_02]: Not that it's not there and not that it's not good.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't feel like it's as consistent or polished or I just don't feel like it's as good as other seasons, not that I don't like it.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_02]: But I just feel like where it starts and where it lands.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_02]: Just like don't really do it for me, but like some of the best episodes.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_02]: We have Dave or Gowski, like there's just like there's some really, really good moments.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: but I think as a whole, it's just not as good, it's not there.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: For me, season one, I was very torn between this and what I ranked a little bit higher than this, but they're kind of on the same level for me.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: Season one is my comfort seasons, but as far as storytelling goes, it's a lot of setup, which can be really boring.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: And it's very intricately built, which I respect, but it's just setting us up for the future seasons.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think as a whole as a season, it's strong, but it's not their strongest.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: For me, the one that I actually ranked just higher than season one, which honestly was like a last minute decision for me is season four.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: And it's because of what we just talked about.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: I really genuinely think that it's kind of for lack of a better term like a lackluster season.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: And so like that's why it's kind of still in the middle for me.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: I only ranked it a little bit higher than season one because I feel like the stakes are higher than season one.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think they exist on the same plane.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: They're really like setting you up for what?
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think, in my opinion, are two of the best seasons of Gilmore girl season two and season five.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_02]: It does feel like a little bit like a, this is the takeoff for taking flight into the better season.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_02]: I also have four here.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but I ringed it up of three because like again, I think that three is just full of strong episodes, but not a strong arc, whereas I feel like four, it's really consistent in it and like the way that it comes across, I mean, there are a lot of episodes in it that I feel like I'm like, that's just kind of boring like as a whole, but I really like,
- 25:11[SPEAKER_02]: I've come to appreciate it a lot more because I feel like where a lot of people are thinking, like you said, it's like Ichi like with like the Dean storyline.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's really good drama though, for sure.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like a lot of the reasons that people are like, oh, I hate this.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_02]: Like, as opposed to the fact that they really just like don't like Dean.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_02]: What?
- 25:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like you, my friend?
- 25:32[SPEAKER_02]: I really like the drama that they pull into it.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_02]: And it feels like, I don't know, it feels like a really good blend of where season five goes and where we just came with the first three seasons, four is pretty mid, but overall the arc of it feels really, I don't know, I just really like, because I really like the Jason storyline, I really like the Emily and Richard storyline, I like that Roy's kind of not doing well at school, like, or it just seems like she keeps kind of like,
- 25:58[SPEAKER_01]: coming up short and like has to drop that class and it's a glimpse into a different life for Rory because we've only ever known her in Star's Hollow so that's why I ranked it a little bit above one is because like it is different it offers a whole new set of challenges to these characters different relationships that they're entangled in it's very very interesting story building I think that's part of it is like it's like a lot of new new for all of them like
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: Like, the classic, like, town.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_02]: school independence in and like took us to a new place in a really good transition.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was like a really solid shift.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_01]: But I will say that season four has some of my least favorite episodes.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's not like seasons two and five and three and for me season one.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like I can't really pick out episodes and I'm like, oh, I love that episode.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like I would not pick a lot of episodes out of season four to be like, I'll watch just this episode today.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: Really?
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: Okay,
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: All right, here's the thing.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: These all like it's almost like a tie for first and then subsequently a tie for third and four like a tie for first and second a tie for third and fourth because when it comes to storytelling I personally believe that season three and season six exist on a very similar plane in like what I was just talking about season one and four I feel like seasons one and four set up
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: two of the strongest seasons for Gilmore Girls, storytelling wise, and conflict wise, relationship wise, etc.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: In the same way, I feel like seasons three and six are from a storytelling perspective, seasons that are filled with exhibition of what the fallout from those really strong seasons are.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: So like I love season three because you're watching the fallout of Roy's choices within her relationship and you're watching her in this completely brand new relationship with Jess and then you're watching how that kind of comes to an end in a really unexpected way you're watching her make choice like starting to make her own choices.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: going to Yale instead of going to Harvard.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: Going to her grandparents and asking for money without her mom's permission, you know, making all of these decisions and sort of turning into an adult.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_01]: And then in season six, you're getting all of this conflict with more lie and worrying not speaking because that's
- 28:16[SPEAKER_01]: something we've never really seen before.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: We've caught episodes where they're not on good terms, kill me now.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I love, say goodbye to Daisy Miller.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like we've caught glimpses of them being in fights.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: We have never had episode after episode after episode of them just strictly not speaking, and then to throw in the fact that Luke has a daughter right as the conflict between Laura
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: like in fourth because I just thought that the Anna April storyline is something that I can't always get on board with.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, is it good storytelling or did you just throw that conflict in there?
- 28:56[SPEAKER_02]: I felt like jumping the shark a little for Luke's storyline?
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I think I would put season six in fourth and season three and third because also, because also season three, I was
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: to learn that they essentially took Jess Mariana's storyline in a very, very different direction to cater potentially cater to a spin off for him.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of how you feel about season 7 when it comes to Logan.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, why do you do this?
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: Why do we do this to this character?
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's why it was really hard for me to rank season 3 and 6 in third and fourth because I have gripes with both of them, but they are both very strong seasons.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: What about you?
- 29:36[SPEAKER_02]: So my fourth is season one.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_02]: I like it's the same thing.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like the exact same way that you did.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_02]: There's like really nothing more.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: Like I will say that a lot of my least favorite episodes in season one.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_02]: These are like episodes that I'll never come back to.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_02]: But I think it was like the setup of it was really good.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like the Max Ark, the Dean Ark, like... Oh yeah.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_02]: Even like the Paris Ark.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_02]: I just feel like it was all setting up for like a bigger world of the next six seasons.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm kind of revival that they didn't know about.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, it's just kind of like me and I put six in the thirds because I think that the way that they transition because I think that that was a thing about season five is when we hit season five of this story between this mother and daughter.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_02]: We're really going to watch a six season of like they haven't had any sort of real conflict between the two of them.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: and that nothing's going on, and I think that it was inevitable.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I feel like that was what we were building up to for the last five seasons.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_02]: For sure.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_02]: Or at least for the last two seasons, and season four, and season five, that, like,
- 30:41[SPEAKER_02]: morey was making different choices for her life.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_02]: And the way that they were going to pivot that like where they just kind of like kind of let the tension keep brewing because like eventually it just feels like the slow burn of it all is boring.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but I just I love how they handled it.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_02]: I love I love like the freeze out in the beginning.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_02]: I love how as the freeze out was ending that the conflict in the rest of their lives was building.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_02]: I think that I bring it as
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: Third because I think my least here parts about it is that the tension with the Gilmourse falls off And I think that that's something that's so essential to a season that is kind of why season seven's not very good Is because there's really limited tension between the Gilmourse or between Richard and Emily in Laura lie I like how it takes shape at the end of season six because after Friday nights, all right profiting we kind of just like lose this like sense of You know, yeah the tension coming from the other side of sound
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: that I feel like it's really essential to keep, like keeping us on our toes and the other story for sure.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_02]: And it becomes completely about like the tension between worry and Logan and the tension between Lorelie and Luke, and not really anything going on between worry and Lorelie, so I can see how people don't really like it.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_02]: But I really liked that shift because I feel like if we just kept going on in the same exact way as we had in the previous season,
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: Feel more of the same.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_01]: And you know how much I love the conflict between worry and Logan.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like for some reason.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a my third totally respectable.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really curious about your first and second.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: We don't know what they are.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, tell me.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_01]: Say it.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: They're reverse, reverse, minus two, and my top is five.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: Ah, are you serious?
- 32:27[SPEAKER_02]: Is your top five?
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's different from the season.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_02]: From the storytelling perspective.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_02]: I've laid down.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: I really thought you were going to say too.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I do think too is a strong season and too is as too is my.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: Have I guess, baby for it season, but I wrestled with this one.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: I genuinely think season five for my story telling perspective is their strongest season.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think season two is also incredibly strong.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like they do exist on the same plane for me.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: And again, season two is my favorite, but I did rank two very low, but I think in terms of like a season it's so strong every episode And that season contributes to the overall arc of the season so clean.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so well.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's like the structure of it so good It's just and if you think about it in a way with the exception of a couple things They're structured in a very similar way because it's just I think that season five
- 33:25[SPEAKER_01]: the stakes are higher.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like Lori starts out with Dean.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: She's intrigued by somebody else.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_01]: She's trying she's starting to find herself in the midst of it all there's conflicts between Richard and Emily because Richard retires and doesn't tell Emily and you find out in Bracebridge dinner and then everything that happens in season five we all know about.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's built very, very similarly.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: I do think that they were very, very tied for me.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, if I have to be super objective about this, from a storytelling perspective, season five is, I think, their strongest season.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: There's also conflict between Laura, lie, and Christopher.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_01]: And those stakes are even higher.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_01]: in season five.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they raise the stakes in a way that doesn't feel like it doesn't feel forced.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_02]: It feels like so like naturally that this is how this happened.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because we have like the Chris and Laura lie, but we also have like Laura lie in Luke starting and then the tension between them and then that Petering out something about those two seasons.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: Again, peak Gilmore for me, those are the two strongest seasons from a storytelling perspective because they offer the most
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: insight into who these women are, their relationships with one another, Emily and Richard's relationship, like it's just all of it.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I think that with season five, it feels like we've talked about this off-pot.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_02]: We're like the middle of season five kind of feels like a little bit of an act-breaked for gamma girls because
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: with the party's over when Laura lies like looking out the window at Mori getting back.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like that's kind of the moment where we're like, ooh, this tension happens, intermission, and then we come back in the next episode.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I'm so surprised, but can't help but agree.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I love to not tell you things before we talk about that on the hot because I love a real reaction.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder how people, I feel like we should,
- 35:12[SPEAKER_01]: We should take a poll specifically for that with our five or two as a stronger season story telling wise again if I had to rank it from a person who perspective personally I love season two more time.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_01]: No, no notes, but season five strong strong season the five five hey All right, so let's talk about art
- 35:32[SPEAKER_01]: Fave and least-fave episodes for each season starting with season one I know that this is not a season that you necessarily gravitate towards But I'm curious what your favorite episodes from that are if you have any my favorite episode in season one is forgiveness and stuff What do you love about it?
- 35:46[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's just something about like the way that like Luke just kind of drops everything I love the tension between Emily and Laura lie.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: I love that the tension breaks because of something really dramatic Yeah, which is what you're being in the hospital
- 35:58[SPEAKER_02]: I just love the way that all of the, like, I love that there's a moment between Emily and Luke, like, I love how Emily kind of sets up that she thinks that they're together, and that's where we first really start to like feel that tension between the two of them that had been built out.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know, it's just like, it's like the only like real Christmasy episode.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_02]: I know, wow.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's Mary Fistikov's in season seven.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's not so easy to see great stuff.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you're right.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_01]: And Santa Secret stuff.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_01]: Because Mary Fisty cuffs like Luke and Chris fight in the middle of the town square.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, in the Christmas stuff.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, you're right for goodness and stuff.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would say I have a lot of favorites from season one because I really love that season.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_01]: Concert interrupters for me is one of my favorites.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_01]: It is one that, first of all, I love that we get to see the bangles.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: I love that we get like the town rubbed-inch sale.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_01]: I love that we get a glimpse into what Luke's past relationship looked like only from here say.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: But like, and this is what we get our first glimpse of macaroni and cheese Paris.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, because we finally get the soft side of Paris.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: And like, we see that like, Madeleine and Louise, just like, we'll always go off and do their own thing.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_01]: And like, Paris, yeah.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: kind of latches on to Rory in that episode because she's like, oh, someone who just wants to stand here and watch music, I don't have to do it by myself while those two go off and frolic with men.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: I can actually do this with somebody sitting next to me.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that that's really special.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I love that you kind of get more of like the Laura-ly-sukey friendship.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: And that's really the first time one of the first times that it's acknowledged that Laura-ly has a peaked interest in Luke.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: Because she's very intrigued by
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: Rachel and who she was, and it's like a good townies episode because Patty brings her drums to lower-rise house and she had her brings the tea set over, and he's like, there's a little chip, and she's like, do you wanna write a note?
- 37:49[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, yes, I would love to write a note.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you get kind of the personalities that come out a little bit.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_01]: I also feel this way in Cinnamon's Wake.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: I love Cinnamon's Wake.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: And I know that that's an episode that Boris the Living Hell Adio.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_02]: Tara, this is my, this is with the two that I was wrestling with about my least favorite from this week.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, why I don't know I just I just think I just never want to watch either of those Like it's I was I was laughing while you were talking simply because I was like she's saying all these things And I'm agreeing with them, but at the same time I'm like those are these are two of my least favorite from the season I just feel terrible.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_01]: What about hazard interruptions?
- 38:25[SPEAKER_01]: Don't you like I just think it's like kind of boring.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know I don't really love Um, it
- 38:34[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how to explain it.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's okay because I do I do look there like moments of it that I love like we've talked about like I love watching Paris stand there and listen to the bangles and just she's not even like really that like enthusiastic about it.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_02]: She's just like you know soft macaroni and cheese Paris which kind of just like jam and yeah I like that she when she's in the hallway and she's like this is what is it that she says like this is one of the best nights I've ever had or something like that this is the greatest I've ever had.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love that.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, me too.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_02]: But the rummage sale really stresses me out.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to watch a single moment of that.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, because of the clutter.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's the clutter.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_02]: But something about it, like, I don't know.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I feel like I'm going to have to do a town rummage sale and have to, like, pilfer through all of these things that belong to the town.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_02]: Something about it just really stresses me out.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I will never take you thrifting with me.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's something about them doing a school project in the living room when all of like the town rummage sails around that I'm just like Oh god, like this is interesting.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, okay.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_02]: Cinnamon's awake.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_02]: I just I think it has too much dean in it for me I understand that and I also don't like Max Medina trust and believe I know
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think that that's really where sentiments make is because I just like, it just feels so I'm so bored by it.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, how is it that my two least favorite of the ones that you were?
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's more about the fact that like again, those are kind of like comforting episodes.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, season one is a whole to me is a comfort season, but I don't really like with the exception of the pilot.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really gravitate towards the first couple episodes of season one, which is very fascinating to do while we're doing Gilmore revisited.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_01]: I
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: because if I had to pick a least favorite, it would be kill me now.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_01]: I love that it's the start of Rory and Richard's relationship.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: I would side of that, the episode is so utterly boring.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_01]: So I usually start at Cinnamon's Week.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's usually when I start season one and then I just keep going.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's why it's one of my favorites cause that to me kind of launches me into,
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: the series so there's like a comfort level that exists there and then also the deer hunters like I love that we see worry fall apart because it's new and you know spicy but my name's Rory and she screams it oh my god so it's one of those seasons where like there are totally episodes that I skip over but it does on the whole bring me a lot of comfort like I love love days isn't true bedores love and we're in snow
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Star Cross lovers and other strangers, like there are some good story setting up episodes in that season.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think the most of season one though, overall, if we had to ring all of the episodes, I think a lot of season one would be really low.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_01]: I understand that.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: In doing the rewatch of it, especially because I've mentioned before that I've been rewatching it with my boyfriend, Brett, it's one of those things that feels like, oh, wow, this is not Gilmore girls, yeah.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's a season that feels that way where I have to keep looking at him and going, I promise they're gonna hit their strides soon.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like apologizing for my favorite show.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_02]: No, truly like in being like, I guess like known as like the girl who watches Gilmore Girls Now, all of my friends who didn't really know that I was as investor in the show were like, oh my gosh, I started watching that show you like.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, oh yeah?
- 41:44[SPEAKER_02]: No, like yeah, I don't really like it.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like that's fair, but if you could just get to the better parts.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_02]: If you could just watch the first four seasons and then get to the part that I like.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: True, like, just move through it.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_01]: World building is not always interesting to watch.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: kind of hard for people.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: Knowing what's to come.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_02]: What about season two?
- 42:03[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be a little, this is going to be a little controversial for you and me.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: Well, my favorite episode of season two is there's the rub.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: favorite.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: I have another favorite, but that was the, that was the one that I was waffling with.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_01]: My second favorite is a Tisketa tasket.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, I take back what I said.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's my third favorite.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_01]: A Tisketa tasket.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's my third favorite.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_02]: What's you take the bracelet dinner?
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: You want to tell me that that's one of the ones that's least favorite for you?
- 42:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's not really.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's not my, it's not my least favorite.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_02]: It is low within its season.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_02]: Within its season, it's okay.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: I want to tell our listeners why I asked you that question like that, because
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: On Haley's TikTok, where she did this as the artist, when it came to, this is one that everybody else seems to love, but I really don't get it.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_01]: It was the Brace Bridged in her, and I went.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Haley knows Barclay Hart, because I'm really curious for your thoughts on that.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: Why is it one that you don't get down with?
- 42:57[SPEAKER_02]: We get a big appearance for my least favorite character, Clara, Dean Sister.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I know you do not hurt her.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_02]: All she wants to do is go hang out with the horses, despite the fact that we learned in season three
- 43:08[SPEAKER_02]: So what is the truth?
- 43:09[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you're right.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_02]: She literally is just begging to go outside with the horses the whole time.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_02]: She's there.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_02]: They really just needed to get that kid off the set.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_02]: And I just, okay, honestly, I know that everyone loves that episode.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_01]: I find it to be really boring.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I don't have like any like real interest in the Rory just tension doesn't feel interesting yet.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I do love the carriage ride through town.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_02]: Super cute.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: I love the snowman building at the beginning.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_01]: I just love that they end up turning it into an event.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_01]: I love that it wasn't intended to be a town event and it ends up becoming one.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's one of the favorite parts for me.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a town sleep over.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, oh my gosh, like a town lock-in.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, exactly.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like a town lock-in.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I also love the tension between Emily and Richard because like, well, it's that the tension has been broken.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_01]: He walks in and he's like a changed man because at the beginning of this episode, he is still Mr. Grumpy Girls.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a situation where like, he ends up coming into the Independence Inn, which is a place that like, he rarely visits.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's very happy and Emily's like, okay, I guess we're happy now.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_01]: they've been so tense leading up to this.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: And finally, that tension has been broken.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_01]: And then you find out it dinner.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: He drops this bomb of, like, I've retired.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: And he didn't even tell her.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, like, yeah, I mean, I will say I like it.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's not in my talk.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: I understand.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: Within its season, it's good.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_02]: But like, overall, like, everyone is like, they, everyone reveres the braced bridge dinner.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_02]: And I just, I skip, I skip.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_02]: Listen, it's one of the many reasons I love you.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_02]: I will say my favorite episode, though, is teaching me tonight.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I did know that about you.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_02]: I love when Rory breaks her arm.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_01]: The way you just said that, so casually, and with such a thing, you just dead, I'd stared at me.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like I had said, I love when Jess stabs Luke in the face, which I think I might like that, actually.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think that would be interesting.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_02]: And Jess.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_02]: I love you.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_02]: I can't even, like, express.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_02]: When I was younger, whenever I would see that she'd meet tonight, it was coming out.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, yes, for he's going to break her arm today.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: I love that conglue to you.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: I know you love the conflict, it just cracks me up.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_02]: I really, I think it is because I really wanted a cast when I, you know, oh my god, you're too in a cast.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_01]: I never broke my arm, but I wanted everybody to sign my cast.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_02]: I wanted a cast and I think that, like, seeing Roy with her sticker from Lane on her cast and everyone's signing it.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_02]: It was just something about it that I just thought was like, I love the Roy's broken arm episodes.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I love the car ride when she's tutoring just, I know.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's so good.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's like one of my favorite marine test moments.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_02]: And I love the Lorelie and Luke tension in that, and I, oh, yeah, I love the other one was there's the rub that was good.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, love because my least favorite was run away little boy.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, run away little boy is not a great episode.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's fine.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's a last time we see Tristan but Dean is so controlling and overbearing in that episode, which he is for most of season two, but yeah, that's true.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_02]: And it's not even like in like a good.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_02]: Trauma sort of way.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_01]: It just made me feel like I'm like spoke to this before the road trip to Harvard is one that I always skip over I love the road trip to Harvard.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_01]: That was like that's probably after there's the rub really It's just one of those ones that like it's funny when they like are held up in the like in that bed in breakfast with that crazy lady And I can't I just love when they go to Harvard.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_01]: I just I find it to be boring when they go to Harvard I don't know why
- 46:51[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_02]: I love when we were standing in front of the library and she was like, there's so many books to read.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm so far behind of like a relatable.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_01]: I also love when Laura Li pretends to be a student with that guy.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, Kinchi.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_02]: And they might go into that girl's dorm.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_02]: And then yeah, Laura Li staring at the picture of like the valedictorian of the year that she would have been.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_01]: From storytelling perspective, it's a good episode.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's just one that I don't like.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_01]: Watch it.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of how you feel about the Bracebridge dinner.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's like from a story perspective You're like, yeah, it is a strong episode, but from like a me.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, no, skip.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's a skip.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's so interesting.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and it should have been Lorelei.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_01]: Also a skip for me.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that one's pretty low.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_01]: Sherry's fine.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Lorelei and Chris getting into that fight felt very kind of forced from a dialogue perspective.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_01]: It makes sense that Chris is fighting with her though.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_01]: Always.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_01]: But like, yeah, Chris is just a major eye roll for me.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_01]: And then, like, I kind of feel the same way about presenting Laura like Gilmore.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's a strong episode because you see the conflict with me and Richard and like, it's load on there for me.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's just one of those ones that I'm kind of like, eh, I could take it early a bit.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_01]: And you know I love season two.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but we love.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_01]: We love it.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_01]: All right, season three.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_01]: Season three.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_01]: Build with very, very good.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_02]: See, that's the thing is, like, this one is hard because this one has such good episodes.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I feel like the thing about season three is like,
- 48:10[SPEAKER_02]: I love they shoot go more so my favorite episode also love a deep fried cream.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks so good and lazy He's a crazy day of summer.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_02]: I would say like those two though like those are like
- 48:20[SPEAKER_02]: peak season three in my hand, but they shoot Gilmour's edge.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my favorite episode of all time.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's definitely in my like top.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_01]: They shoot Gilmour's own thing has always been my favorite Gilmour girl's episode.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_01]: But I'd say like one of like a very, very, very close second is there's the rub from season two like as far as all time Gilmour episodes.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_02]: Because there's the rub is a very strong like are like all of our episodes, but I feel like we will have to do every day.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's a
- 48:48[SPEAKER_02]: Top 10 and then bottom 10.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's a great idea.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_01]: We should we should totally do that.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_01]: Write it down.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_02]: Tell our assistant Who is me and post truly?
- 48:58[SPEAKER_01]: Write it down for your hands, but for me this was really easy to rank my least favorite episodes because from keg max on I can't watch it.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah
- 49:05[SPEAKER_01]: See, it was hard for me because I was like, which one is actually my least favorite?
- 49:08[SPEAKER_02]: Ooh.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_02]: I would have to say here comes the sun.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_02]: Because Keg Max and here comes the sun both of them.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_02]: I like the lean and deep storyline in Keg Max.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_02]: Me too.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like the Max and part of me either.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like the Keg part of me either.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know what other episode?
- 49:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really love either.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_01]: Application anxiety.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_01]: when they meet that family, the spring-steen family, early in the season.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, that's what I could leave.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: I could skip.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_02]: I like every part of it that's not the meeting with that family.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think that those siblings are sleeping together.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_01]: Very, very possible.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's kind of what they alluded to.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_01]: It was really gross.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: It was like they're probably showering together, like Laura Lysad.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I know.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_02]: And then the bunny sister, oh my god, all of it.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_02]: Storywise, I like what I pictured.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_02]: For sure.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_01]: But otherwise, I like a lot of these episodes that we've said we don't like, it's just a personal preference.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_01]: We really like this show.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: We do really like this show, surprisingly.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_01]: So season four, very curious to know what your favorite episodes are.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like you know my faith.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_02]: Lorelites for staying at you.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_01]: No, I knew about that.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_01]: I knew about the Lorelites first day at Yale.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_01]: But then Ted Couples big night out.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like it's at the...
- 50:12[SPEAKER_01]: at the top as well.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's pretty high.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_01]: Both are very strong episodes.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_02]: But the Lorelyce first day at Yale feels like I talked about this on the Valentine's Day episode because we talked about favorite episodes on there.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it just feels like the cozyest episode of going around with me because there's no boy drama.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: There's no real drama of any sorts at all.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like, worry and Laura lie at like their best mother daughter moments.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I just, I love it.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_01]: Those first few episodes are very like rid of any boy drama with Roy.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like we don't address Jess.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_01]: We're only focused on college.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_01]: I guess the only male quote unquote drama.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_01]: would be between Luke and Laura lie because Luke tells Laura lie that he went on the cruising got married to Nicole.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_02]: And then, which is weird, because I love conflict.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's not for me.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I like a quiet moment every now and then.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe she does.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_01]: But it's like when we're introduced to Digger in the Hobbit The Sof and Digger Styles, or is Haley likes to call it the Hobbit The couch in Jason.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_01]: When we're introduced to him, we're not introduced to him as a love interest to lower life.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like those first couple episodes are really void of any conflict that involves men, which is new for us because we started season two and season three with a lot of conflict when it came to romantic relationships, specifically with Rory in season three and lower life in season two.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_01]: So it's refreshing in a sense.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I would say that one and I love I kind of love the end of season 4 I had a really hard time because I definitely picked out because I love Ted Coppola because I love the Yale game So good amazing.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_02]: I love Emily and Richard at the Yale.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I know like that's I think that's some of my favorite Emily and Richard mom Yeah, it's like oh so good like I think like the last couple of episodes of season 4 like some of my
- 51:59[SPEAKER_02]: Some of my things.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I wrote Girls in bikinis boys do in the twist.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, they're my guys because like everything that happens after like Ted Coppola or like even like seen in a mall Like everything that happens after that.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like so good cuz like boys in bikini boys in bikini boys in bikini boys in bikini's boys
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: I like boys and bikinis.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_01]: Me too, let's just call this boys and bikinis.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_02]: I love the reigning Laura live when Emily has her complete meltdown.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, a complete nervous breakdown.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_01]: And last week, fights this week tights.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_01]: I mean with Laura like Luke and the dancing and ring codes and recipes is such a solid and Luke can see her face.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's all good.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_02]: I love how Jess is kind of interwoven and tall.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we get a return of Jess.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, totally.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_01]: Um, as far as least faves, I wrote question mark question mark everything else question mark.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't like this season that much.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_01]: So I won't chicken or beef.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just, I just don't like, but from a story perspective, it's strong because it's the it's the pivot into Rory recognizing that
- 53:02[SPEAKER_02]: She still has feelings for teen or that she like envy is teen and Lindsay's relationship I don't know it's all and don't we hate the first the actual ones so there was that one was hard because I was like I think it's chicken or beef, but like it's it's early.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's like it's like midseason for yeah die jerk.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really love I love the Paris makes a list and they're like these are a list of your and all of your enemies And she goes just the people in this room
- 53:27[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of miss that about when we get into season five, it's like I love the conflict that Paris has with all of their roommates.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_01]: Moving on to season five, another very, very, very, very strong season filled to the brim with really, really good episodes.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_00]: I would, oh god, I have too many to pick.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know that I can necessarily pick like a pinnacle fave.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'd say at the top are wedding bell blues and pulp friction.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_01]: Those are my
- 53:54[SPEAKER_02]: Hope friction.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, hope friction is not my favorite episode of overall, even though it's my favorite episode of season five because I think I have like if we do like an overall ranking There's an episode that ranks higher for it from season five, which might be confusing, but my favorite episode from season five is pulled for you
- 54:09[SPEAKER_02]: From beginning to end, every single moment of that episode is just the best it could be.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's so good.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's Michelle with the prices right for her to get some heart.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_02]: See, it's Laura and Luke on their first date after the winning little breakup.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's Lori and Logan.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's Laura and Logan kissing that girl, and that little cafe is Robert from Aldi.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_02]: It's Robert from Aldi.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's the Quentin Tarantino party.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's like from beginning to end, I love every moment.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_02]: We get a little bit of the town with Kirk.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_01]: love love good yeah me too and wedding bulb blues is so good 100 episode it's a aesthetically beautiful it's filled to the brim with conflict we look in kiss for the first a moon river is playing in the background they're dancing to moon river and they're having that conversation and she wants to dig a hole to china
- 54:55[SPEAKER_01]: Miss Celine and the bachelor at party.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, Emily's bachelor at party because like you jump by jump.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I've wrote that down and also, but not as good as pushkin.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_01]: I love that episode.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, when they get into the fight.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it's when like Marty looks at Roy and is like
- 55:11[SPEAKER_01]: Don't be an idiot like this guy likes you and I love that there's like a very young naive girl there Yeah, and yeah, that's kind of like a mirror image of Rory, but in a completely different capacity She feels more like she'd fallen in line with like a Madeline
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: like someone who's just like eager blend of yeah because she really liked school but she was like dang I'm ready to be in the same room as all these boys like I don't want to go to the ice cream social I want to go to this bar like she really wanted that I will say that I really love you jump item check but I think I like the parties over more than I like you jump item jack also a fantastic episode
- 55:50[SPEAKER_01]: So good, the male Yale party.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_01]: And written in the stars.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_01]: Fun fact, that was almost the name of our podcast.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because we felt kittens, stars you and I.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's true.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_02]: Least Faves.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_02]: I think we have the same one.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_02]: We got us a Pippie Virgin.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's on here for sure.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_01]: All those early episodes for me, and like, say goodbye to Daisy Miller.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_01]: Not a fan, a messenger, nothing more, not a fan.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_01]: We've got us a Pippi Virgin, is at the top of that list.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I didn't really love the episode How Many Cropugs to Cape Cod.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_01]: It always makes me feel uncomfortable because of Lorelie and the conflict with her parents and how Emily is just so nasty to her and then it really starts Lorelie and Logan off on a very awkward foot.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_02]: It, yeah.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_02]: I don't love it, but I, I love it, and as she does.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_02]: I love it because it's like a big Logan episode.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_02]: I would say that it's all the early episodes because I usually don't start that season until I've written it the stars honestly same and then I watch to pick a new material too We got ourselves a pippy version and then pick back up with Norman Mail Air horse like I yeah Those are the couple episodes that I would skip in that season personally.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah season six.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_01]: All right season six I know partings is your favorite episode.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's partings, but like I had a really hard time with this because like
- 56:59[SPEAKER_02]: Partings is my favorite episode out of all Gilmore girls episodes and so I tried to like pull back on it because I'm like everyone knows I love parting.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_02]: So like let's take that out of the equation if we could I had a really hard time picking between Friday nights I'll write for a fighting and bridesmaid revisit really okay.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_02]: I love bridesmaid We visited I love that scene with worry and Logan when she's listening to cool thing by Sonic youth too loud Getting ready for those separate events and then he leaves and then he comes back
- 57:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, very cool.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_02]: That scene might be one of my favorite scenes in like the whole series, but Fred and it's all right for fighting as a whole.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like when they say the elderly news and like when they're all dead.
- 57:34[SPEAKER_02]: So like I had a really hard time picking between those, but like I guess it would be partings.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_02]: And then I would kind of like kind of like kind of tie those with maybe Fred and it's all right for fighting a little bit higher.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_02]: So many episodes from that season for me.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's let me hear your ball in like as ringing out.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_02]: I see that was probably right.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but like,
- 57:51[SPEAKER_02]: And we've got magic to do, and I know people hate it, but I love Roy's birthday.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's a good episode, but it just makes me uncomfortable.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_02]: When Lorla walks in and Roy sees her, I said it to a song from, I've said it to part of all two well ten minute version.
- 58:07[SPEAKER_02]: Um, on my TikTok, I'll post a tourist story so you guys can see it because I thought of it started crying.
- 58:12[SPEAKER_02]: Why I was making it, I cried and then when I actually posted it, I cried again and I was like, I made this video.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_01]: Why am I the one that's crying?
- 58:19[SPEAKER_01]: Why am I crying?
- 58:21[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_02]: I love it so much.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_02]: I love the tension between them because they both want to like reach out to the other person.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_01]: But they can't do it.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I would say that up in my top is also the prodigal daughter returns.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_01]: I love that hug.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_01]: That hug, I could literally cry thinking about it.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_02]: When she says I love you mom, you have no idea.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm done.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm out.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_02]: Even just hearing that makes me want to cry.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I will say, I think that episode is really one of my favorite versions of Lori that we lose completely after that episode.
- 58:51[SPEAKER_02]: which is that like hard driven we get a little bit of it in the perfect dress when she like is kind of stalking that teacher trying to get into her class but like we lose that worry that is like so determined so driven so trying to like you know she's trying to fit four semesters into three she gets so excited about things again she gets so excited about school and joining
- 59:12[SPEAKER_02]: the paper that she got like oh from or she kind of just like dismissed because she didn't have what it takes according to mission and then we like really lose that from like season 7 she like kind of forgets about school it's kind of like an afterthought it's kind of just like a like a location that we assume she goes to it's kind of like when they talk in the car they just don't
- 59:35[SPEAKER_02]: Seeing that of her in that episode where she's just like a go-getter again, because then she never really goes and gets it again This is very true.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm curious about your least babes because I know you said that this is a season that you don't really skip over any episodes I had a really hard time like I like licked at the episode description of every single one of them being like the thing that I came up with
- 59:55[SPEAKER_02]: Think that my least favorite is the real Paulink.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_02]: Even though like I was like even then It's like the one that I like the least Yeah, but I wouldn't say it's like um, I don't know even then I was like I feel kind of like weird about it Because this is one of those seasons like it's a no skip season.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's so interesting Which was for me the early episodes like don't do it for me like um fight yeah Fight face a wrote down always a godmother never a god.
- 1:00:19[SPEAKER_01]: I love always a godmother
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm always just there are things about it for me that I'm like, ah, and I think maybe because it's so uncomfortable that it's like one of those things that I don't like I'll skip over.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_02]: You know what's so random?
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_02]: You know how there's that like moments when like little things from an episode will like change our whole lives for some reason There's a watch that worries wearing in that episode when she gets out of the car for some reason She closes the door and doesn't have any keys or purse or anything very odd that happens to her a lot, but anyways, she has a little watch on
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_02]: And I've been looking for a watch like that for probably 12 weeks.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_02]: Really?
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we must find it.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_02]: Put on a pee pee for that one.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_02]: I need that watch.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be sponsored by Watchers next week.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I mentioned this in my TikTok, Vineyard Valentine.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of people don't like the Vineyard Valentine or it's so I had thought, which was funny because I have a TikTok talking about the Vineyard Valentine.
- 1:01:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, everyone hates this episode.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_01]: All of the comments were like I love in your balance.
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but then on your TikTok everyone was like yeah Yeah, everybody was like who likes vineyard Valentine.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, oh, I was very misled.
- 1:01:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're like don't Don't go over that.
- 1:01:24[SPEAKER_02]: Never mind.
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because I commented saying that I like it better than the race bridge dinner Which was very controversial But
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_02]: I do.
- 1:01:32[SPEAKER_02]: I love everyone like a playing house.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_02]: Like from a story perspective a lot of these episodes are great It's just because Lucas cringy the whole air of the episode is weird like I'm going to the gym And just that I don't know I will say Logan and Luke playing basketball I think is one of my least favorite scenes in the entire series.
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_02]: It's just weird
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but I know I really I really like that.
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's I love when Mitchum comes and yells at Logan like that's just so that was so good.
- 1:02:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, again, there are a lot of like storytelling aspects to it that are strong and like let themselves well to the season.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_02]: I know a lot of people don't like it, but like on the other hand, like when I posted that video about people not liking it, everyone was like, no, I love that.
- 1:02:12[SPEAKER_01]: There were people that commented on my TikTok being like, wait, I love that episode.
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_01]: Did I do something wrong?
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, no, you didn't do anything wrong.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's just something I don't absolutely did.
- 1:02:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's just an episode that I don't really get why people like it, but anyway, well that leads us to season 7.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_01]: You know my favorite from season 7.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_02]: Do I?
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_01]: What's your favorite?
- 1:02:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'd rather be in Philadelphia.
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_01]: Of course I did and I wrote that down because I knew that that was your favorite episode.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's a great episode.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's such a good episode for Logan.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_02]: He flies in on a helicopter.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_02]: He really shows up.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_02]: He's not flying.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_02]: He rides on a helicopter.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_01]: And so does Luke.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_01]: That's a huge turning point for Luke and Laura lie and for the relationship between Laura lie and Chris, even though obviously in the episodes leading up to it, we know that like,
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_01]: they've had these conversations where Chris realizes that she's still harboring a lot of feelings for Lou.
- 1:02:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I will say it's more so than just the Logan part of it because I feel like a lot of season 7 we don't get a lot of like crossed storylines that we do in the other seasons like it's like it feels like a lot of the conflicts are happening with the characters very like like insular like
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_02]: Loreline Luke's conflict is with Loreline Luke.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_02]: Loreline Chris is with Loreline Chris it's like Bory and Logan like we don't really get isolated.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I slated us the word I was looking for But I feel like here we have like everyone like kind of like intermingling in the drama.
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah Yeah, and I I love when people end up at the hospital.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_02]: Do you apparently not not in real life She loves when people end up in the hospital
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_01]: Roy Brooker arm.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it makes it sound like I put a lot of people.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it makes you sound like you show girls a lot of people.
- 1:03:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, whoops But no, it's just it's like such a good place to end up Conflamed wise Why is Richard always the one no one ever?
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's always the old guys.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's always Richard and Ashard Yeah, April goes to the hospital.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_02]: She has a pen decided, but that's a nuts and we're going to see because she broke her arm But you famously love yeah
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't solve that, but I just did a heart with my hands for love, I love for the broken arm.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_01]: One of my favorite episodes in season seven is Wonderful Smarvelis.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we talked about this on the Valentine's episode.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_01]: On the Valentine's.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I just love that Emily gets arrested, it's the fucking funniest thing to me.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I love that.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_01]: The date is really good, and I say that as someone who does not like Christopher, the date is really, really good.
- 1:04:29[SPEAKER_01]: And then, um, for least faves, I wrote the rest.
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I did have a good least favorite though, because yeah, like most of them pretty much all of them I really hate Santa's secret stuff.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I think that is one of the I think if I had to like, no, I'm maybe not the worst.
- 1:04:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's one of the worst episodes of the whole series.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_01]: The only good thing in that episode is the rant that Laura like goes on when they're making the popcorn garland.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_01]: And she says monkey monkey underpants.
- 1:04:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think even then that feels like they're trying to make a lower life monologue.
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_01]: And it just like, you know, like it's it's it's good.
- 1:05:02[SPEAKER_01]: Forced, it's forced dialogue.
- 1:05:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the writing of it is not this is a season where I can't be like, oh, yeah, the writing lent itself really well to the storyline, even though I don't like the episode it honestly doesn't know.
- 1:05:12[SPEAKER_01]: Because like Santa Secret stuff is like, I think pretty solidly.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_01]: I hate French twist and I love Paris.
- 1:05:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like Paris, the city, not Paris, the character.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_01]: Paris, the city should have made me really excited and it just is so plainly boring.
- 1:05:25[SPEAKER_02]: Lorelei, Lorelei, it's just like writing a bike.
- 1:05:28[SPEAKER_02]: We'd be my Lorelei Gilmore.
- 1:05:29[SPEAKER_02]: I hate, I know this is really controversial because a lot of people like it.
- 1:05:33[SPEAKER_02]: I hate one more Lysings.
- 1:05:34[SPEAKER_01]: I will always love you.
- 1:05:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Cario.
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like it either.
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like it.
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's very weird.
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_01]: For me, it's a little cringy.
- 1:05:40[SPEAKER_01]: I feel the same.
- 1:05:41[SPEAKER_02]: You would have hated that.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_01]: He would have been, he would have been like this.
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_01]: He would have turned his baseball cap around, put it over his eyes and walked out.
- 1:05:48[SPEAKER_02]: He would have taken it off.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_02]: How'd he get up and left?
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_01]: Never to be seen from the end.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_01]: Truly.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_01]: No, I was not.
- 1:05:59[SPEAKER_01]: what they knew at the time, but again, no, season seven on the whole is a, is a past for me.
- 1:06:06[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, Bill Maze.
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_02]: I love the idea of hey, Bill Maze.
- 1:06:09[SPEAKER_02]: I wish that, like, town event would have been another season because I think that's actually pretty funny.
- 1:06:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:06:14[SPEAKER_02]: But as a home, which is like such a Logan intense episode.
- 1:06:17[SPEAKER_02]: You think I would like it.
- 1:06:18[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 1:06:19[SPEAKER_01]: So that brings us to a year in the life.
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_02]: I think we fall pretty similarly on this.
- 1:06:23[SPEAKER_02]: My favorite's fall and my least favorite is both spring and summer.
- 1:06:26[SPEAKER_02]: I really couldn't decide.
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_01]: If I had to rank them from favorite to least favorite, it's fall winters summer spring.
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_02]: Fall winters summer spring.
- 1:06:34[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like I would fall the same.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_02]: I would fall the same.
- 1:06:39[SPEAKER_02]: I just like, I think that there's parts of spring and summer that I'm like, oh, I like this part of this and I really hate this, but I think that they were kind of like a toss up for me that I couldn't really like I couldn't really decide on why I pretty like give my opinion another drawn out and very weak.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it just felt like they just put a bunch of random stuff and between these good bookings, the only reason I even considered ranking summer lower than spring is because of the musical.
- 1:07:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was really the only reason that I was like, but there's more Jess in summer, I think.
- 1:07:08[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that that was why, because I really liked the Jess moments.
- 1:07:15[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry to leave you so abruptly there, Besties, but that's where we stop talking about our episode rankings and season rankings, of course, which we did earlier in the episode.
- 1:07:23[SPEAKER_00]: We go on to talk about premieres and finale's and Haley and I wanted to save that and revisit that another time.
- 1:07:28[SPEAKER_00]: So we are going to be doing that in the separate episode, but we figured this was the bulk of what we wanted you guys to hear and what we listened to.
- 1:07:35[SPEAKER_00]: In order to prep Tuesday's episode, I am so excited for you to hear.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_00]: If anything's changed, because at our core, we are still
- 1:07:45[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe with some different opinions, and we'll have more to say on that in the next episode.
