- 2:50Speaker 3: To the show.
- 2:51Speaker 6: Thank you for having me today.
- 2:53Speaker 5: Any idea how long Summerfest has been going on in Charleston,
- 2:56Speaker 5: Because it's like it's always been a thing.
- 2:57Speaker 7: Yeah, so I had to figure it out myself. So
- 3:00Speaker 7: this is our twentieth annual.
- 3:01Speaker 5: Twentieth twentieth annual. All right, it starts tomorrow, yes, and
- 3:06Speaker 5: it runs through Saturday. Let's just go over, start from
- 3:08Speaker 5: the top, go over some of the activities. I know
- 3:10Speaker 5: you get some new stuff this year too.
- 3:11Speaker 7: Yes, yes, we're very excited this year. Summer Fest's August
- 3:15Speaker 7: fourteenth through the seventeenth.
- 3:17Speaker 3: May have you pulled that microphone just a little bit
- 3:18Speaker 3: closer together? There you go, there you go.
- 3:20Speaker 7: And we'll have live bands each day, some notable bands.
- 3:25Speaker 7: On Wednesday, Why Mother Mother's Nature Band, followed by Josh
- 3:30Speaker 7: Fulms being the Crooked Roots. On Thursday, we'll have the
- 3:34Speaker 7: Danly Band, followed by the Legacy Motown. On Friday, we'll
- 3:39Speaker 7: have the Velvet Brothers followed by Seven Bridges.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Then that's the Eagles Tribute, right. Yes, I've had opportunity
- 3:45Speaker 3: to see them several times. They're very good, very popular.
- 3:48Speaker 7: Then on Saturday, which is last day, we'll have Non
- 3:51Speaker 7: Friction followed by Rick k road Trip.
- 3:54Speaker 5: You got some heavy hitters there. I'm familiar with Velvet Brothers.
- 3:58Speaker 5: I have MC a couple of shows involving friction.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Is that what h and uh?
- 4:04Speaker 5: And Rick K of course for years legend in West
- 4:07Speaker 5: Virginity music scene for a long time with Rick K
- 4:09Speaker 5: and the All Nighters. This is kind of like a
- 4:11Speaker 5: like it's another version of that.
- 4:12Speaker 3: I mean, he's.
- 4:13Speaker 6: Awesome, Yeah, yeah, very popular and uh.
- 4:16Speaker 5: And the one thing I like about the way you
- 4:18Speaker 5: guys do the music for the Summer Fest is it's
- 4:20Speaker 5: a little bit of everything. It's something pretty much too
- 4:22Speaker 5: that that just about anybody, even any age would like.
- 4:25Speaker 7: Yes, I think I think everybody loves it. And actually
- 4:27Speaker 7: so in between bands every day there's a dance contest
- 4:31Speaker 7: as well. There we'll start out with the kids, then
- 4:34Speaker 7: we'll bring the adults in.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Any chance we'll see Mayor Mullins out there.
- 4:37Speaker 6: In the dance, we'll have to see.
- 4:40Speaker 3: I'd pay to see that.
- 4:42Speaker 5: And the weather looks looks great good, yes, a little
- 4:45Speaker 5: like slight chance of rain here and there.
- 4:47Speaker 3: But that's pretty much all of it there is.
- 4:49Speaker 5: And talk about the other activities going on, I mean
- 4:51Speaker 5: about the music, because it's it's not just about music.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Got foods, you got car shows.
- 4:55Speaker 7: Just we'll have over twenty vendors there with with witho
- 5:00Speaker 7: food and there'll be some cell item vendors as well.
- 5:03Speaker 7: We'll have the City of Side Torontos has sponsored kid Zone,
- 5:06Speaker 7: which is inflatables, free snow cones and face painting. Then
- 5:11Speaker 7: we'll also have Colinal rides there as well with the
- 5:15Speaker 7: ferris wheel.
- 5:16Speaker 5: And it all starts Wednesday and on through Saturday. What
- 5:19Speaker 5: times does it start, like like in the weekday?
- 5:21Speaker 6: Six pm each evening, So at six.
- 5:22Speaker 5: Pm each evening, that's every day, right, yep? I see,
- 5:25Speaker 5: And I was talking to you earlier about this drone show.
- 5:28Speaker 5: This is something that's I guess kind of new about it. Okay,
- 5:30Speaker 5: talk about this drone show on how that works.
- 5:32Speaker 7: Yeah, So we are very excited for this. We're excited
- 5:35Speaker 7: for the public to come out and see it. It
- 5:38Speaker 7: will be Friday at ten pm and it will be
- 5:41Speaker 7: a fifteen minute show with music.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Okay, so what it's gonna be drones, but it's gonna
- 5:48Speaker 3: be synced.
- 5:48Speaker 6: With the music because that right, it's gonna be sync
- 5:49Speaker 6: with the music.
- 5:50Speaker 5: All right, So if people are downtown, they should be
- 5:52Speaker 5: able to see what was what exactly will they see?
- 5:54Speaker 7: So the so there'll be a bunch of drones in
- 5:56Speaker 7: the air, and you'll to see lights different, different, care different.
- 6:01Speaker 5: You know, it's basically like modern day fireworks. It's like
- 6:03Speaker 5: the next generation of fireworks. Yes, And because I know
- 6:06Speaker 5: these things are very very popular. They happen in other
- 6:10Speaker 5: cities all across the state and all across the nation.
- 6:12Speaker 5: And this is not that you're trying to phase out fireworks,
- 6:15Speaker 5: but this is something you know, a little most people
- 6:17Speaker 5: would say a little easier to deal with, maybe a
- 6:19Speaker 5: little safer as well.
- 6:21Speaker 7: Yeah, And I think we're just very excited for to
- 6:23Speaker 7: bring it to this area because I don't I think
- 6:25Speaker 7: there's been very few in this area, maybe one or two,
- 6:29Speaker 7: So we're excited for that. And we're still having our
- 6:31Speaker 7: fireworks show as well on Saturday at ten PM.
- 6:34Speaker 5: So we kept the drone show Friday night at ten
- 6:37Speaker 5: and then fireworks will be Saturday at ten can. We're
- 6:39Speaker 5: talking with Sean Zuniga, who is a marketing director for
- 6:41Speaker 5: the City of South Charlestood about Summerfest, which kicks off tomorrow.
- 6:45Speaker 5: A day valance show in five eighty Live is brought
- 6:47Speaker 5: to part by Morgan and Morgan. If You're injured, Hire
- 6:49Speaker 5: Morgan to Morgan in America's largest injury law firm. And
- 6:51Speaker 5: you know, there's so many activities that go on in
- 6:54Speaker 5: the Kanaha Valley during the summer. Of course for God
- 6:56Speaker 5: is the big one, but every town and you know,
- 6:58Speaker 5: it seems to have something going on, but this is
- 7:00Speaker 5: the one that kind of kind and I don't want
- 7:03Speaker 5: to put you know, I don't want to get ahead
- 7:05Speaker 5: of ourselves, but it's one of that kind of brings
- 7:06Speaker 5: summer to the tool close because school starts.
- 7:10Speaker 3: In Kana County on Friday. So this is this is
- 7:13Speaker 3: kind of the thing that says, Okay, it's it's time
- 7:15Speaker 3: to get ready for fall down.
- 7:16Speaker 7: Yes, I think it's one of those events. It's nice
- 7:19Speaker 7: to kind of have it and in the summertime, and
- 7:22Speaker 7: you know, it's a special event as well. I was
- 7:25Speaker 7: actually going back and looking at past interviews that's that's
- 7:28Speaker 7: been done and what was special about this one interview.
- 7:32Speaker 7: A little girl was interviewed and she was asked what
- 7:35Speaker 7: she liked most about, uh the event, and she had
- 7:39Speaker 7: said the Ferris Will and and they asked her why.
- 7:42Speaker 7: She said, because I'm up so high I can talk
- 7:44Speaker 7: to the birds, right, And that's what it is, That's
- 7:47Speaker 7: what it's about for us. It's about quality of life,
- 7:49Speaker 7: and I think that's what this event is about, and
- 7:52Speaker 7: it's about it's what the city is about as well.
- 7:55Speaker 5: And you know South Charleston and I talked to Mayor
- 7:57Speaker 5: Mullins on the show a lot, and it's one of
- 7:59Speaker 5: those special places that people really really take pride in.
- 8:03Speaker 5: And you're a South Charleston guy, yes, so, I mean
- 8:06Speaker 5: you've lived here pretty much your whole life, so it's
- 8:09Speaker 5: it's a lot of people just take pride in their
- 8:11Speaker 5: community in South Charles.
- 8:13Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean the people, you know, the people a
- 8:15Speaker 7: great city. Employees are great. I mean, it's it's it's
- 8:19Speaker 7: it's it's definitely someplace special.
- 8:22Speaker 5: And how does the pricing work if people for the
- 8:24Speaker 5: different things?
- 8:25Speaker 6: So entry there is no entry feet.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Right, you're right on the street, so it'd be hard
- 8:30Speaker 3: to do.
- 8:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:31Speaker 7: Yeah, so, uh, there's only fees for you know, the
- 8:34Speaker 7: food vendors, item vendors, and if you want to do
- 8:37Speaker 7: the fairs, Will and eminem inflables I Ohio, they'll be
- 8:40Speaker 7: there as well with their inflatables and various games if
- 8:43Speaker 7: you so.
- 8:44Speaker 5: You just want to do that, you just you just
- 8:46Speaker 5: kind of pay as you as you go on that
- 8:47Speaker 5: sort of thing, but everything else. But people could come
- 8:49Speaker 5: out and have a great time to listen to the
- 8:51Speaker 5: concerts and enjoy the fireworks and the drone show and everything.
- 8:55Speaker 6: At no cost and no cost.
- 8:57Speaker 5: And as I said, the weather looks great, which you know,
- 8:59Speaker 5: it's been hotter than you know what all summer, so
- 9:01Speaker 5: it's going to be a little bit a little bit
- 9:03Speaker 5: more moderate I think as far as the as the
- 9:06Speaker 5: temperatures go. And again, this is kind of like one
- 9:09Speaker 5: of those things that every that a lot of towns
- 9:12Speaker 5: have that it brings people together and it's almost like
- 9:16Speaker 5: a family reunion because people look forward to it. But
- 9:18Speaker 5: it's big for South Charleston, but this event would not
- 9:20Speaker 5: be as popular at Sean as what it is if
- 9:22Speaker 5: it weren't for the other areas. So you're going to
- 9:24Speaker 5: see people from Saint Albans and Nitro and Charleston and
- 9:27Speaker 5: Tays Valley that come out and literally all over.
- 9:29Speaker 3: The state for this.
- 9:29Speaker 7: Yes, and we want them to come out. We want
- 9:31Speaker 7: them to come out and see what's South Chroston is about.
- 9:33Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, So where can people learn more about it?
- 9:36Speaker 7: They can go to our website, City's Howthreston dot com.
- 9:38Speaker 7: Or they can follow our Facebook page as well at
- 9:41Speaker 7: City is how Charleston.
- 9:42Speaker 3: And you got a lot of good information.
- 9:43Speaker 5: I was taking a look at it earlier this morning,
- 9:45Speaker 5: as far as you actually have a map of the
- 9:47Speaker 5: layout of the different things and so on and so forth.
- 9:49Speaker 5: Let's take it from the top again, give us, give
- 9:51Speaker 5: us all the activities that are going on again.
- 9:53Speaker 7: Yeah, So this is our twentith annual Summer Fast August
- 9:55Speaker 7: fourteenth through seventeenth. We'll have live bands each evening starting
- 9:59Speaker 7: at six p We'll have a City of South Charleston
- 10:02Speaker 7: sponsored kid zone with free snow cones, face painting and inflatables.
- 10:08Speaker 7: There'll be a fairis will if you choose to do
- 10:10Speaker 7: that as well, and we'll have over twenty food vendors
- 10:12Speaker 7: and item vendors as well.
- 10:14Speaker 3: All right, looking forward to it.
- 10:16Speaker 5: It'll be Wednesday through Saturday right there in the heart
- 10:18Speaker 5: of South Charleston, Manning pretty much. Just take over the
- 10:21Speaker 5: whole area there, don't you.
- 10:22Speaker 7: Yeah, and don't forget what the drone show Friday ten pm,
- 10:25Speaker 7: fireworks Saturday ten pm.
- 10:27Speaker 5: And a lot of great music and a lot of
- 10:28Speaker 5: great food, Yes, music and food. You got on this

- 14:34Speaker 5: is a planning hopefully and hopefully from their perspective, to
- 14:37Speaker 5: do some upgrades around the area, including the Days Valley area.
- 14:41Speaker 5: Normally this would be a good thing, one would think,
- 14:43Speaker 5: but as best I understand that their upgrades could possibly
- 14:47Speaker 5: greatly interfere with several spots in the Hurricane area, including
- 14:50Speaker 5: the extremely popular Meeks Mountain Trail system and Hurricanes. Scott
- 14:54Speaker 5: Edwards is the mayor of Hurricane and he joins us Now, Mayor,
- 14:57Speaker 5: good morning, welcome to the.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Show, Good morning to you.
- 15:00Speaker 8: How are you doing today?
- 15:00Speaker 3: Doing fine? So, what exactly, Mayor, is the issue here?
- 15:04Speaker 3: What are the plans? Let's just start from the very
- 15:06Speaker 3: beginning about what they want to do and why is
- 15:08Speaker 3: it an issue?
- 15:10Speaker 8: So AEP they need, Well, they really are going to
- 15:13Speaker 8: be doing two things, sitting in a new station, a
- 15:17Speaker 8: new power station, booster station per se in Tays Valley
- 15:21Speaker 8: along Pays Valley Road. But the big impact are the
- 15:25Speaker 8: twenty miles of transmission lines that they're going to be doing.
- 15:30Speaker 8: And we all need electric by the way, you know,
- 15:32Speaker 8: Hurricane Tays valley'scott depot has grown tremendously over the last
- 15:37Speaker 8: you know, fifteen twenty thirty years, as we all know,
- 15:39Speaker 8: and it's going to continue to grow, so we need electric.
- 15:43Speaker 8: But the big impact that we're seeing is they're going
- 15:46Speaker 8: to traverse, go right across, right through Meeks Mountain Trails.
- 15:52Speaker 8: And as you know, Meeks Mountain Trails of five or
- 15:55Speaker 8: six hundred acres that has a thirty two mile trail
- 15:59Speaker 8: system and built, you know, thirty forty thousand volunteer hours,
- 16:03Speaker 8: built by about five hundred volunteers, and it's become a
- 16:06Speaker 8: big economic driver for our area. Meets Mountain Trails. You know,
- 16:10Speaker 8: we attract people not just from Hurricane Pays Valley of
- 16:13Speaker 8: even Putnam County. We get regularly three to four hundred
- 16:16Speaker 8: users per day on this trail system from multiple counties,
- 16:20Speaker 8: but we also have events that drive people from all
- 16:23Speaker 8: over the country here. So it's a big economic driver.
- 16:26Speaker 8: Meets Mountain Trails is a huge community. It's not just
- 16:29Speaker 8: a this isn't just a hurricane thing. This is a
- 16:32Speaker 8: full community. And if the initially proposed line when I
- 16:38Speaker 8: say traverse the trails, we're talking one hundred foot right away,
- 16:42Speaker 8: bulldozers just devastatingly going across right through the middle of
- 16:47Speaker 8: the trail system, and you know, and then dump trucks
- 16:51Speaker 8: and concrete trucks and cranes, and it's a part you know,
- 16:55Speaker 8: end up having a permanent like a slice across your faith.
- 16:59Speaker 8: I guess you know, you have this permanent road of
- 17:03Speaker 8: devastation rates in the middle of the trail system. And
- 17:05Speaker 8: if Dave, if you've seen the trail system and see
- 17:09Speaker 8: how compacted is any you know, any any way that
- 17:16Speaker 8: that the lines would go across it. I think it's
- 17:19Speaker 8: about thirty points of impact on the trail, So it
- 17:21Speaker 8: wouldn't just be crossing one trail one time. There would
- 17:25Speaker 8: be twenty five or thirty points of impact. It would
- 17:28Speaker 8: just be devastation to the you know, to the to
- 17:32Speaker 8: the system. And we're you know, we're working with ap
- 17:36Speaker 8: We hope that they're going to and they told us, hey,
- 17:39Speaker 8: we'll we'll work with you all. We'll look at some alternatives,
- 17:43Speaker 8: but we we need to make sure that they do.
- 17:46Speaker 8: It's very important. I received more phone calls, more texts,
- 17:49Speaker 8: more Facebook messages than I have on anything else in
- 17:55Speaker 8: my seventeen years as mayor. There's been more more people
- 17:58Speaker 8: come out from the community begging, begging, please don't let
- 18:02Speaker 8: this happen.
- 18:03Speaker 5: And again, I think people need to understand the impact
- 18:06Speaker 5: of this, of this trail system, and I agree with you, Mary.
- 18:08Speaker 5: I don't think anybody is saying that we don't need
- 18:11Speaker 5: some upgrades and some things going on like that. And
- 18:13Speaker 5: Tay's Valley it as an ever growing area, has been
- 18:15Speaker 5: for some time and it's about to really grow even
- 18:17Speaker 5: more and maybe five times towards the end of the interview.
- 18:20Speaker 3: And I can talk about that a little bit.
- 18:22Speaker 5: But when you talk about impacting this trail system, I
- 18:24Speaker 5: mean you're not only talking about possibly the environmental aspects
- 18:28Speaker 5: of it. We're talking about the money aspects of it.
- 18:30Speaker 5: And that's where you get my interest. When you start
- 18:33Speaker 5: talking about the money that comes in for this thing, man,
- 18:35Speaker 5: talk about.
- 18:36Speaker 8: That, Well, sure, yeah, there's money that comes in into
- 18:39Speaker 8: our community, you know, hotel and hotel money, a restaurant money,
- 18:45Speaker 8: local shopping money. There's people coming in from all over
- 18:49Speaker 8: the country and even from other countries. They come here
- 18:53Speaker 8: for our races. Every year. We have one one hundred
- 18:55Speaker 8: k race on the mountain. We have five K ten
- 18:58Speaker 8: K And for those that don't know Meek's Mountain Trails.
- 19:03Speaker 8: The land is owned by the Meeks family. The city
- 19:06Speaker 8: leases the six hundred acres of land and we work
- 19:09Speaker 8: side by side with the Meeks Mountain Trail of Alliance,
- 19:12Speaker 8: which is a nonprofit. So we have private, we have
- 19:15Speaker 8: public and a nonprofit all working together and have created
- 19:19Speaker 8: this massive community of I don't know how many thousands
- 19:23Speaker 8: and thousands and thousands of people that are part of
- 19:26Speaker 8: this community. And these trails are not just dirt paths.
- 19:31Speaker 8: If you just look at them, take a picture and
- 19:32Speaker 8: I send it to you, it looks like a dirt path,
- 19:35Speaker 8: and it is. They're handbuilt. I f helped build them.
- 19:38Speaker 8: They're handbuilt by over five hundred volunteers. But it's not
- 19:43Speaker 8: just the dirt path, it's the community that's been created.
- 19:47Speaker 8: I was on the trails the other night and there
- 19:50Speaker 8: came about twenty mountain bikers there from the Huntington They
- 19:54Speaker 8: come and use the trails all the time. People from Tarston, Backley, Parkersburg,
- 19:59Speaker 8: Ashland see a lot of Ashland people here on a
- 20:03Speaker 8: regular basis. They'll come here all the time. And it's
- 20:06Speaker 8: absolutely amazing knowing that at any given moment, any given day,
- 20:10Speaker 8: there's three or four hundred people use this trail system.
- 20:13Speaker 8: It's unbelievable what this has created. For Hurricane and Putnam County.
- 20:17Speaker 8: It's I always say, it's truly the gem of Putnam County.
- 20:20Speaker 8: It's it's it's absolutely amazing, and.
- 20:22Speaker 5: It's gotten Mayor a whole lot of national attention. And
- 20:25Speaker 5: she said, I know there's been articles done about it.
- 20:26Speaker 5: There's been news stories done about it, literally from across
- 20:28Speaker 5: the nation.
- 20:30Speaker 8: Absolutely a local gym and with my friend Matt Stevens
- 20:34Speaker 8: Owes a local gym, and just a little over a
- 20:36Speaker 8: week ago, and this is a for profit gym, he
- 20:39Speaker 8: used Meets Mountain Trails as part of a three day competition.
- 20:43Speaker 8: He brought in people from all over the country. You know,
- 20:46Speaker 8: they were former NFL players, There were all these these
- 20:50Speaker 8: extreme athletes came in and and and they used Meets
- 20:53Speaker 8: Mountain Trails as part of this huge nationwide competition. So
- 20:58Speaker 8: we're starting to see things like that happen all the time,
- 21:02Speaker 8: you know, not just the nonprofit five kpn k uh
- 21:05Speaker 8: half marathon, one hundred k all that stuff. Yeah, I said,
- 21:09Speaker 8: one hundred k that's insane, by the way, I know
- 21:12Speaker 8: that event and watched, But these guys and gals that
- 21:14Speaker 8: run that or are crazy.
- 21:16Speaker 3: I ain't driving a hundred k, Mayor, right.
- 21:18Speaker 8: But it does it brings in so much attention nationally,
- 21:22Speaker 8: and there's podcasts, there's there's articles written nationally. This isn't
- 21:26Speaker 8: just local. You know, even at the at the county
- 21:29Speaker 8: and state level tourism, you know, they they know and participate,
- 21:34Speaker 8: they know about Meeks Mountain Trails from the state level,
- 21:38Speaker 8: they they nobody wants them to be touched. That nobody,
- 21:43Speaker 8: you know, from Again, this is not just Hurriking and
- 21:45Speaker 8: Putnham County state level. No one wants the trails to
- 21:48Speaker 8: be touched because it truly is a gem of Putnam
- 21:52Speaker 8: County in West Virginia. It's amazing what's been created here
- 21:55Speaker 8: and the text.
- 21:56Speaker 5: Or the show mayor whether somebody said several Eagle Scout
- 21:59Speaker 5: projects and scanned war memorial, et cetera, and uh, I'm so,
- 22:04Speaker 5: I mean that's just some of the things that's happened.
- 22:06Speaker 8: Yes, the war memorial and and Eagle Eagle Scout projects
- 22:09Speaker 8: and and just you know, the war memorial is absolutely amazing.
- 22:13Speaker 8: I would urge everybody to go out and look at it.
- 22:15Speaker 8: And it's a it's it'll bring tears to your eyes
- 22:19Speaker 8: when you see this huge, huge memorial. It's it's amazing.
- 22:24Speaker 8: And Eagle scout projects. Just local have have built different
- 22:28Speaker 8: things on the trails, have been part of the trail systems.
- 22:30Speaker 8: There's many local businesses not they didn't pay money, they volunteered.
- 22:37Speaker 8: You know, City National Bank, UH, they were one of
- 22:40Speaker 8: the first ones that that that their group volunteered to
- 22:43Speaker 8: go out and work on the trail system, and many many,
- 22:46Speaker 8: many other businesses there. Their team the City of Hurricane
- 22:49Speaker 8: UH for for three or four years. During the bill process,
- 22:53Speaker 8: we took it took a day and h and folks
- 22:56Speaker 8: from the city came and worked on the trail system.
- 22:59Speaker 8: And that's that's it's made it huge. It's all volunteer hours.
- 23:03Speaker 5: So there's public meetings being planned. I know one of
- 23:05Speaker 5: those is going to be the sevening at four thirty
- 23:08Speaker 5: at Valley Park. There's another one tomorrow, you mean in Winfield.
- 23:10Speaker 5: Talk about the importance of those public meetings and it
- 23:12Speaker 5: mayor exactly what's going to go on at those.
- 23:15Speaker 8: So the public meetings today from four thirty to seven
- 23:18Speaker 8: thirty at the Valley Park Community Center. Tomorrow four thirty
- 23:22Speaker 8: to seven thirty at the Winfield Community Center. I what
- 23:25Speaker 8: I've put out is I urge every single person that
- 23:28Speaker 8: has used the trails. If you're an enthusiast of the trails,
- 23:32Speaker 8: if you've thought about using the trail, and if you've
- 23:35Speaker 8: heard of the trails and know just how important they are,
- 23:37Speaker 8: to come to this meeting, please come to the meeting
- 23:39Speaker 8: and show your support for our community. It doesn't just
- 23:42Speaker 8: have to be the trail enthusiast, doesn't have to just
- 23:44Speaker 8: be the person that walks on them once a week.
- 23:48Speaker 8: It could be everybody.
- 23:49Speaker 12: We need.
- 23:49Speaker 8: We literally need everybody to show to show support, and
- 23:53Speaker 8: it's just a show of support. The meetings are an
- 23:55Speaker 8: open forum meeting, which means there's no one speaking at
- 23:59Speaker 8: the meeting. There'll be different sections at the meeting. You know,
- 24:02Speaker 8: it's four or five different different sections set up where
- 24:05Speaker 8: you can go and speak to an APU representative about
- 24:08Speaker 8: They'll have a line placement, you know, where the lines
- 24:10Speaker 8: are going section. They may have something else talking about
- 24:13Speaker 8: where they're going potentially going through a neighborhood. This section,
- 24:17Speaker 8: I'll talk about how they're potentially affecting Nieus Mountain Trails.
- 24:21Speaker 8: So the biggest thing is to come and show support.
- 24:24Speaker 8: Fill out the ap g IS comment cards. They want
- 24:27Speaker 8: people's comments. Even if you can stop in for five minutes,
- 24:31Speaker 8: stop in, fill out the comment card, drop it off.
- 24:33Speaker 8: We need that and we need people today and tomorrow.
- 24:36Speaker 8: Don't just come to day to Valley Park. I need
- 24:38Speaker 8: you there today. That needs you drive to Windfild tomorrow
- 24:41Speaker 8: and show support. It's that important.
- 24:43Speaker 5: And again you talked about your conversations with AEP and
- 24:46Speaker 5: they have said that they're willing mayor to work with
- 24:48Speaker 5: you and community leaders on this, So they're not totally
- 24:52Speaker 5: I mean from what you're telling me, and if I'm wrong,
- 24:53Speaker 5: you can correct me. I don't think that they're looking
- 24:55Speaker 5: at you saying this is one hundred percent a done deal.
- 24:57Speaker 5: They're looking at you saying, well, let's see what the
- 24:59Speaker 5: public to say about this.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Is that correct?
- 25:02Speaker 8: Well, yeah, they they have their engineered plans. They and
- 25:06Speaker 8: they've told us they've been working on this about a
- 25:08Speaker 8: year and a half. They have their engineer plans of
- 25:11Speaker 8: what they know will work. So we have an uphill battle,
- 25:13Speaker 8: but we want to work with them, and they want
- 25:16Speaker 8: to work with us, so they do. Indeed, I spoke
- 25:20Speaker 8: to some of their folks today. They are are willing
- 25:23Speaker 8: to work with us and and look at some possible alternatives.
- 25:28Speaker 8: And that's our that's our hope and prayer right now.
- 25:30Speaker 8: That's where we're at. We we want them to work
- 25:34Speaker 8: with us. We want them to be part of this
- 25:35Speaker 8: whole system. They have a chance, ap has a chance
- 25:39Speaker 8: to show the nation, not just Hurricane and Puttenham County.
- 25:42Speaker 8: They can show the nation that they can come together
- 25:46Speaker 8: and be part of this massive community. This massive meets
- 25:51Speaker 8: you know, meets Mountain Charlest, the community that that has
- 25:54Speaker 8: been created, and they can join in. They can be
- 25:57Speaker 8: part of the whole, the whole movement. I mean, this
- 25:59Speaker 8: is this is people's health. This is you know, people
- 26:03Speaker 8: have gotten healthy on this mountain. There's a gentleman I
- 26:05Speaker 8: know that's lost two hundred pounds in the last year
- 26:08Speaker 8: or two. The cause of these mountains people emotional emotions,
- 26:13Speaker 8: I mean people. I get all these phone calls from
- 26:15Speaker 8: people I didn't realize until recently. I've known for years
- 26:20Speaker 8: how important it is that I've been overwhelmed with phone
- 26:23Speaker 8: calls in the last eight or nine days. You know,
- 26:26Speaker 8: people will call and say, hey, you don't know me,
- 26:28Speaker 8: but I go walk on the trails every day because
- 26:30Speaker 8: I need to separate from work. I need to get
- 26:33Speaker 8: away from computers and technology. And it's helped me mentally.
- 26:36Speaker 8: There's been so many people that have they have fixed
- 26:40Speaker 8: themselves mentally, you know, because of the trail system. Now
- 26:44Speaker 8: there's the enthusiast. There's the folks that ride the mountain bikes.
- 26:49Speaker 8: There's a gentleman, one of my good friends. He's probably
- 26:51Speaker 8: down eighty or one hundred pounds. He's turned into a
- 26:54Speaker 8: mountain bike or extreme well two years ago he had
- 26:57Speaker 8: never been probably been twenty years since he'd been on bus.
- 27:01Speaker 8: So those are just a couple of little stories. There
- 27:04Speaker 8: are hundreds or even thousands of these stories that I've
- 27:08Speaker 8: heard over the years. Last ten days, I've heard a lot.
- 27:10Speaker 3: I bet you have. And again this is Mayor. There's
- 27:12Speaker 3: been so much about this, you know.
- 27:15Speaker 5: That's I mean, just about everybody in Putnam County as
- 27:18Speaker 5: and in other areas too, have commented on this one
- 27:21Speaker 5: way or the other. And you've got all these people
- 27:23Speaker 5: of different backgrounds, from business people to the enthusiasts on
- 27:25Speaker 5: the trail. They're all coming together and saying, just pump
- 27:28Speaker 5: the brakes on this and then let's see if we
- 27:29Speaker 5: can get another plan. The meetings are again the four thirty.
- 27:33Speaker 5: They short of four to thirty a Valley Parks this evening.
- 27:35Speaker 5: Also is it four thirty tomorrow and Windfield two.
- 27:38Speaker 8: Yes, it is four thirty to seven thirty both tonight
- 27:40Speaker 8: at the Valley Park Community Center Tomorrow night Windfield Community Center.
- 27:45Speaker 8: And we do urge, I really urge everybody to come out.
- 27:48Speaker 8: Every single person should come out.
- 27:50Speaker 5: And Mayor we do want to kind of reiterate what
- 27:52Speaker 5: you said there is you don't think that. Don't think
- 27:54Speaker 5: of it as spending an entire three hours there. I
- 27:56Speaker 5: mean you can come in, you can drop in, see
- 27:58Speaker 5: what they're doing, talk to the official, fell out the cards.
- 28:00Speaker 5: If you can only stay thirty minutes, it's fine. If
- 28:02Speaker 5: you can stay for the entire three hours, that's fine.
- 28:04Speaker 5: And you do want people there both nights tonight and
- 28:08Speaker 5: also tomorrow at the Winfield Community Center. Before we let
- 28:10Speaker 5: you go, I want to give you about a minute
- 28:11Speaker 5: or so to talk about some of the growth going
- 28:13Speaker 5: on in Putnham County right now with the new how
- 28:15Speaker 5: mean they just have the ribbon cutting a month or
- 28:17Speaker 5: so ago, the massive development that's going to be behind
- 28:20Speaker 5: Wendy's there on Tayes Valley Road, that's going to bring
- 28:22Speaker 5: a lot of people in talk, just talk about some
- 28:25Speaker 5: of the good things going on in Putnam County right now.
- 28:28Speaker 8: So you know, we do have a housing crisis, and
- 28:31Speaker 8: that's because we have lots of good things going on
- 28:33Speaker 8: in Putnam County, you know, and other counties. You know,
- 28:36Speaker 8: we talk about Mason County New Core, and there's there's
- 28:39Speaker 8: speeder companies that will be coming to support New Core
- 28:42Speaker 8: and a lot of those New Core folks that will
- 28:45Speaker 8: live right here between Hurricane and Scott Depot and in
- 28:47Speaker 8: Putnam County. So there is a big housing crisis. And
- 28:51Speaker 8: I have a lot of real other friends of mine
- 28:52Speaker 8: and they all say the same thing, huge housing crisis.
- 28:56Speaker 8: But you know, with the you know, with that development
- 29:02Speaker 8: coming right behind Wendy's, those three hundred and four four
- 29:05Speaker 8: units that's going to help a lot, we'll still be
- 29:07Speaker 8: in a housing crisis even after those are are built.
- 29:10Speaker 8: And I'm looking forward to those being built. With the
- 29:13Speaker 8: new interchange in cloding that's happening, we're already starting to
- 29:17Speaker 8: see some movement and some talk. There's lots of things
- 29:20Speaker 8: I love to tell you right now, but there's yes,
- 29:23Speaker 8: you know, you're trying hard, but there's lots and lots
- 29:26Speaker 8: of movement right now. Some of the things that people
- 29:29Speaker 8: have always wanted are are you know, we talk about restaurants.
- 29:32Speaker 8: I'm not getting in anything more than that, but there's
- 29:35Speaker 8: lots of lots of movement on that, lots of lots
- 29:37Speaker 8: of talk because of the way Taye Valley, Scott Depot,
- 29:42Speaker 8: Hurricane and now Clodin are growing and all coming together.
- 29:46Speaker 8: You know this is you know, you'll you'll look in
- 29:48Speaker 8: a few years Clodin to Scott Depot, this one big area.
- 29:53Speaker 8: We continue to add things and there's so many things
- 29:55Speaker 8: that are being added. Can't get in anything more than
- 29:57Speaker 8: that right now today, but you can try to pride out.
- 30:00Speaker 5: All right, Mayor, I'll see you tonight and tomorrow night.
- 30:03Speaker 5: I appreciate you being here, buddy.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Thanks a lot.
- 30:05Speaker 8: Yeah, first, thank you.
- 30:06Speaker 3: Twenty three minutes.

- 30:20Speaker 5: have created new businesses too, there's a popular bike shop
- 30:23Speaker 5: in several restaurants all around the entrance to the area
- 30:26Speaker 5: to the park where the trails are located. It's a
- 30:27Speaker 5: big job boost and a big boost to the tax pace.
- 30:32Speaker 5: Do let me see here, Texas all four delegates and
- 30:36Speaker 5: Puttnam defend a letter to AEP suggesting a different route. Texas,
- 30:40Speaker 5: Davis and some money is what matters to you. Think
- 30:42Speaker 5: about the money to be made with the new transmission lines.
- 30:45Speaker 5: There's more opportunity and new transmission lines. Also, think about
- 30:48Speaker 5: the money the AEP shareholders will make from the new
- 30:51Speaker 5: transmission lines. Eagle Scouts and war memorials and community health
- 30:54Speaker 5: is not as important as money. They get a little
- 30:56Speaker 5: tongue in cheek there. Look, nobody's saying that they don't
- 30:59Speaker 5: want this thing, just saying they don't want it there,
- 31:01Speaker 5: that's what they're saying. Residents says the texture of hurricane
- 31:04Speaker 5: will have to decide if they want reliable electric service
- 31:06Speaker 5: or a place to ride a bike, then have to
- 31:08Speaker 5: be either or Texas. I'm for it as long as
- 31:12Speaker 5: the alternative doesn't cost the ratepayers more money. We got
- 31:16Speaker 5: to take a break now to get Mike Pushkin coming

- 35:17Speaker 16: You know, I'm not fun in Chicago next week.
- 35:20Speaker 3: Well, I'll tell you. I was just seeing it's gonna
- 35:22Speaker 3: be a very fun time.
- 35:23Speaker 5: I was just seeing here on the TV here in
- 35:25Speaker 5: the studio, and you know, I'm not a Fox newsgas
- 35:26Speaker 5: so this was, you know, not not Fox News. Expecting
- 35:30Speaker 5: some some protesters, uh, and the Chicago police are gearing
- 35:33Speaker 5: there's gonna be a lot of protesters in Chicago next week.
- 35:36Speaker 16: There's also gonna be a lot of people there in
- 35:39Speaker 16: support of the next President of the United States, Vice
- 35:41Speaker 16: President Kamala Harris and the next Vice President of the
- 35:45Speaker 16: United States, Governor Tim Wall.
- 35:46Speaker 3: What do you think about the walls?
- 35:47Speaker 6: There will be more people.
- 35:48Speaker 16: There, uh to do their job as the convention of
- 35:52Speaker 16: the party to nominate.
- 35:53Speaker 3: What did you think about the walls as a pic?
- 35:56Speaker 16: You know, I was at a meeting in Minneapolis and
- 36:00Speaker 16: last summer for the Association of State Democratic Committees, and
- 36:04Speaker 16: the governor was kind of enough to join us there
- 36:06Speaker 16: and speak. I was very impressed with them then, so
- 36:09Speaker 16: I've known about him for quite some time. He's been
- 36:11Speaker 16: a very successful governor since the legislature there has righted
- 36:18Speaker 16: itself and became the head. They have Democratic majorities in
- 36:21Speaker 16: both their House and their Senate. They've passed some really
- 36:24Speaker 16: great laws that are actually helping people, and he's been
- 36:27Speaker 16: at the forefront of that. And I think he's very
- 36:30Speaker 16: good at explaining policies that are promoted by the Democratic Party.
- 36:35Speaker 16: They're actually when they're put in place, actually work, unlike
- 36:37Speaker 16: this state that is absolutely as fiftieth and everything. I mean,
- 36:41Speaker 16: Governor Justice Ring.
- 36:42Speaker 5: The second best state to retire, if that just came
- 36:44Speaker 5: out yesterday. We are the second best state of America.
- 36:47Speaker 16: There's no future in a state that doesn't attract young people.
- 36:50Speaker 16: And the very least we could do is addressed the
- 36:53Speaker 16: childcare crisis in this state if we want young people
- 36:56Speaker 16: to move here. But we have a complete failure from
- 36:58Speaker 16: the governor or the report book, and legislature to do
- 37:01Speaker 16: anything about that. We continue to be last and just
- 37:04Speaker 16: about everything, and we have been for some voting with
- 37:07Speaker 16: their feet and one of two states that people are leaving.
- 37:11Speaker 16: We are actually losing population and that since the Republicans
- 37:14Speaker 16: have had controlled this legend.
- 37:16Speaker 5: But Mike, we've been last and a lot of things
- 37:18Speaker 5: for a lot of years now that I mean, let's
- 37:20Speaker 5: don't put this all on the Republicans. West Virginia has
- 37:22Speaker 5: been dead, last and a lot of stuff for a
- 37:25Speaker 5: long time.
- 37:25Speaker 16: It has gotten worse over the path time, and and
- 37:28Speaker 16: the population decline has proof of that. People are voting
- 37:31Speaker 16: with their feet.
- 37:32Speaker 3: All right, we'll get back to national politics a little later.
- 37:35Speaker 16: On of news is that there's plenty of ways to
- 37:37Speaker 16: address that, okay, and hopefully we can write the course
- 37:40Speaker 16: so like like Minnesota did, and write the course and
- 37:43Speaker 16: start electing more Democrats to office. Have better ideas of
- 37:46Speaker 16: how to attract young people back to this state, make
- 37:48Speaker 16: it a state people want to stay in and work
- 37:51Speaker 16: in and raise a family in.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Uh.
- 37:54Speaker 16: There are a lot of good ideas on how to
- 37:55Speaker 16: do that. Take longer than all.
- 37:57Speaker 5: Right, let's let's let's get to the governor and the
- 38:01Speaker 5: financial situation. The governor said, Mike, this is all politics
- 38:05Speaker 5: and people are just out to get him because of politics.
- 38:08Speaker 5: State Democratic Party of which you are the head, released
- 38:10Speaker 5: the statement yesterday, call it the governor's claims quote baseless, baseless, Michael.
- 38:15Speaker 16: Are baseless. You know, I'm sure I bet you agree
- 38:18Speaker 16: with me on this.
- 38:19Speaker 3: How could the well, because it gets correct.
- 38:23Speaker 16: It's just the truth. And I don't think anybody actually
- 38:25Speaker 16: believes that this is somehow politically motivated, that somehow the
- 38:29Speaker 16: Democrats have you know, tricked the governor into defaulting on
- 38:33Speaker 16: all those loans. That's how Jim Justice has always done business.
- 38:36Speaker 16: It's like a shell game. And you know, I, you know,
- 38:39Speaker 16: I really I wish the Democratic Party was that cunning
- 38:42Speaker 16: and that powerful that we could somehow, you know, trick
- 38:45Speaker 16: the governor into not paying his debts and not paying
- 38:48Speaker 16: his taxes and having his uh hish, his you know,
- 38:51Speaker 16: hotel auctioned off. I wish we were that that powerful.
- 38:55Speaker 4: You know what.
- 38:55Speaker 16: We'd have a heck of a lot more Democrats in
- 38:57Speaker 16: office if we were. But that's uh, you know, it's
- 39:01Speaker 16: not the only There's only one person to blame for
- 39:04Speaker 16: the governor's financial business failures, and that's Governor Jim Justice.
- 39:09Speaker 16: It's it's how he does business. He doesn't pay his debts,
- 39:13Speaker 16: he doesn't pay his taxes, He shifts money around like
- 39:16Speaker 16: a shell game and Uh. For him to say that
- 39:19Speaker 16: he's being singled out because he's a candidate for the
- 39:22Speaker 16: US Senate, because he's a Republican governor, that's ridiculous. He's
- 39:25Speaker 16: getting special treatment because of who he is. He's not
- 39:28Speaker 16: getting singled I mean, he's not being singled out because
- 39:31Speaker 16: he's getting special treatment because and I think most of
- 39:34Speaker 16: your listeners are you, and I know if we ran
- 39:36Speaker 16: our businesses and treated people the way that Jim Justice
- 39:40Speaker 16: does and bankrupt small companies, uh and just and not
- 39:44Speaker 16: pay our debts, not pay our taxes, we'd be more
- 39:47Speaker 16: likely to be candidates for prison than candidates for the
- 39:49Speaker 16: United States Senate.
- 39:50Speaker 5: Mike is part of his comments yesterday, the governor said
- 39:53Speaker 5: JP Morgan Chase is targeting him. The head of JP
- 39:57Speaker 5: Morgan Chase is Jamie Diamond. And and he has said
- 39:59Speaker 5: many of said Jamie Diamond is one of the leading
- 40:01Speaker 5: candidates to be Trump's Treasury secretary if he's elected in November. Now,
- 40:06Speaker 5: if the if that's true, that Jamie Diamond is targeting him,
- 40:10Speaker 5: that makes no sense.
- 40:10Speaker 16: If that makes no sense, to say that Jamie Diamond
- 40:13Speaker 16: is some like big liberal is just laughable. It is
- 40:16Speaker 16: completely untrue. Jamie Diamond might be one of the few
- 40:19Speaker 16: people actually benefited from the Trump tax cuts. Uh, there's
- 40:23Speaker 16: Jamie Diamond is a Republican. He gives money to Republicans.
- 40:26Speaker 16: He is not in cohoots with with the Harris campaign,
- 40:30Speaker 16: definitely not with the West Virginia Democratic Party. He has
- 40:33Speaker 16: absolutely no reason to target Jim Justice except for one thing.
- 40:38Speaker 16: Jim Justice doesn't pay his debts and he has a
- 40:40Speaker 16: bad investment, you know, I mean, he's a bad investment
- 40:42Speaker 16: for West Virginia. He does not deserve your vote. But
- 40:46Speaker 16: let me tell you one more thing.
- 40:47Speaker 5: Why.
- 40:48Speaker 16: It's why is somebody who has that kind of debt
- 40:50Speaker 16: shouldn't be in the US Senate. They have to make
- 40:53Speaker 16: very important decisions in the US Senate, some regarding foreign policy,
- 40:58Speaker 16: a lot with domestic policy. It's it's and to be
- 41:01Speaker 16: compromised by owing so many people money is just not
- 41:05Speaker 16: a safe bet. There's a reason why you can't get
- 41:07Speaker 16: even a federal job if you're in that kind of debt,
- 41:10Speaker 16: because you're a compromised individual. Governor is a compromised individual.
- 41:14Speaker 16: He has too much debt, too easily to be bought.
- 41:18Speaker 5: But a VALANCEO and five eighty livee presented apart by

- 41:33Speaker 5: out of Florida. We don't want your mental illness here.
- 41:37Speaker 5: West Virginia has zoomed light years since. Republicans stick over.
- 41:40Speaker 5: Hopefully they vote you out.
- 41:42Speaker 16: Well, that is that texture is from Florida.
- 41:44Speaker 3: It's a regular texter That text cent for Florida.
- 41:46Speaker 16: Yeah, you know, we'd love to have you back in
- 41:48Speaker 16: West Virginia.
- 41:49Speaker 5: Come on back, Tex says, West Virginia is the second
- 41:52Speaker 5: best state to retire while having the worst healthcare system,
- 41:55Speaker 5: also the least educated people.
- 41:56Speaker 3: In the country.
- 41:57Speaker 5: So you're telling me that people will want to retire
- 41:59Speaker 5: here to be in terrible healthcare while being surrounded by
- 42:02Speaker 5: a home of the least educated people in the country.
- 42:05Speaker 5: West Virginia marketers have the rosiest tinted glasses. Tex says,
- 42:10Speaker 5: remind Mike that the Dems ran West Virginia for eighty
- 42:13Speaker 5: three years. Going to take a lot to dig us
- 42:15Speaker 5: out of the hole they put us in Texas with
- 42:18Speaker 5: the chairman kindly cite the single greatest accomplishment of his
- 42:22Speaker 5: party's nominee, VP Harris. What's one thing you would point
- 42:25Speaker 5: to as her greatest achievement in office for three and
- 42:27Speaker 5: a half years and it ain't the border, So take
- 42:30Speaker 5: it from there.
- 42:30Speaker 16: Well, she is as I mean, she was one of
- 42:32Speaker 16: the most effective United States Senators when she was there.
- 42:36Speaker 16: But you watch her questioning of some of the criminals
- 42:40Speaker 16: that worked in the Trump administration. She was the best
- 42:43Speaker 16: at it. Now, she was a Senator for a short
- 42:45Speaker 16: period of time. Before that, you know, she was the
- 42:48Speaker 16: Attorney general for the state of California, which is the
- 42:51Speaker 16: state of California is bigger than a lot of countries.
- 42:53Speaker 16: She won, you know, that election, was elected to that position,
- 42:57Speaker 16: and she did a great job at that job, so
- 43:02Speaker 16: good at the people of California elected her to the
- 43:04Speaker 16: United States Senate.
- 43:05Speaker 5: But as vice presidents, and I granted Jane, I would
- 43:09Speaker 5: agree with what j d Vance said over the weekend.
- 43:11Speaker 5: You know, if you're people, ninety percent of the people
- 43:13Speaker 5: don't vote for the vice president.
- 43:16Speaker 16: They vote brought us a New Corps earlier. Right, say,
- 43:18Speaker 16: it's a real thing. Why is that, Dave, It's because
- 43:21Speaker 16: of the policies that we that were inactive in legislation
- 43:24Speaker 16: by the Biden and Harris administration, and being both of
- 43:28Speaker 16: them being former senators. They did senators, they did a
- 43:30Speaker 16: lot of work with Senate and with Congress to get
- 43:33Speaker 16: that legislation across the finish line that has greatly benefited
- 43:36Speaker 16: West Virginia. Whether it's the infrastructure bill that President Trump
- 43:40Speaker 16: and Vice President Pence, who he almost got killed by
- 43:44Speaker 16: the way, couldn't get done. They couldn't get they only
- 43:48Speaker 16: talked about an infrastructure bill. That infrastructure bill is what
- 43:52Speaker 16: led to laying the groundwork to attract a business like
- 43:55Speaker 16: New Corps to Mason County. But it, you know, for
- 43:59Speaker 16: a long time, didn't get done. And you know it
- 44:01Speaker 16: it had been to be here without the impati.
- 44:04Speaker 3: I'm not saying, I'm not disagreeing.
- 44:06Speaker 16: I'm trying to I'm not doing a very good job.
- 44:08Speaker 16: I'm not that would not be here had it not
- 44:11Speaker 16: been for the passage of the infrastructure bill, And a
- 44:14Speaker 16: company like Newcore is growing because of the incentives put
- 44:18Speaker 16: in place by the inflation Reduction Act. Vice President Harris
- 44:21Speaker 16: was at the forefront of all these negotiations with Congress
- 44:24Speaker 16: to get these things. That's done. She has actually gotten
- 44:26Speaker 16: things done. Enough, tell me what was the what were
- 44:28Speaker 16: the accomplishments of the Trump administration. Well, you're talking to
- 44:32Speaker 16: tax cut for Jamie Diamond, who, by the way, is
- 44:35Speaker 16: working against Jim Justice. According to Jim Justice.

- 47:42Speaker 5: by Live Heealthy, West Virginia, presented by WVU Madison, Texas
- 47:46Speaker 5: A question, Dave, You've had fun of Biden's age related
- 47:49Speaker 5: issues a lot. It was deserved, I guess, as much
- 47:51Speaker 5: as anyone deserves age related quipping. So can we talk
- 47:54Speaker 5: about Trump nouse as a texture, not the raging insanity
- 47:57Speaker 5: that makes up mega policy that hasn't changed the aging
- 48:00Speaker 5: and feeble elderly man. Was that slurring and sweating old
- 48:04Speaker 5: man hacking at softballs last night? Mentally competent enough to
- 48:07Speaker 5: lead America. Zero chance. Not only a lunatic, but it diminished.
- 48:10Speaker 5: Lunatic maga are such feckless goons. They'd be lapping dims
- 48:14Speaker 5: if they would have ran any marginally normal person as
- 48:17Speaker 5: a candidate.
- 48:17Speaker 3: They're all weirdo. Tex says.
- 48:19Speaker 5: The way the US corporate media transformed Kamala Harris from
- 48:22Speaker 5: a national embarrassment to its transformative power of I'm sorry,
- 48:26Speaker 5: transformative pioneer overnight without even pretending to care about anything
- 48:29Speaker 5: she thinks or believes, is a powerful testament to how
- 48:32Speaker 5: potent the science or propaganda is.
- 48:36Speaker 16: You want me to come in on that. Now, she
- 48:38Speaker 16: had the support from you know, state chairs across the country,
- 48:43Speaker 16: from the vast majority almost all of the delegates who
- 48:47Speaker 16: are elected to go to the convention. And that's how
- 48:49Speaker 16: that's how we nominate our nominee is at the convention.
- 48:53Speaker 16: And she earned that support because so we know what
- 48:56Speaker 16: kind of leader.
- 48:56Speaker 3: She is, Tex says, who we almost got killed.
- 48:59Speaker 5: Trump was shot because in a semiary hate field rhetoric
- 49:02Speaker 5: spewed by lefties like you Cackles, Bumbles, Mad Maxine, the
- 49:05Speaker 5: coven on the View, Juliy Read and Vodka Polygrid Pelosi
- 49:10Speaker 5: you are truly a despicable human being.
- 49:12Speaker 16: I mean, we all watched it on TV on January sixth.
- 49:15Speaker 16: We all watched what happened with people who were over
- 49:19Speaker 16: zealously supporting President Trump and his attempt to stop the
- 49:25Speaker 16: peaceful transfer of power and stop the the certification of
- 49:29Speaker 16: a free and fair election. And they built gallows in
- 49:32Speaker 16: front of the Capitol and they were going to they
- 49:35Speaker 16: were going after Mike Pence. Mike Pence's life was in
- 49:38Speaker 16: danger chance he endangered the life of his own vice president.
- 49:43Speaker 16: And we saw it on TV and didn't I didn't
- 49:45Speaker 16: believe me. I didn't call it off, which he could
- 49:47Speaker 16: have done at any time.
- 49:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:50Speaker 16: I don't think that that's hyperbaly in the least.
- 49:52Speaker 3: That's what happened.
- 49:53Speaker 6: We saw it.
- 49:53Speaker 3: I saw it.
- 49:54Speaker 5: Texas Kamala Harris effective Senator Kamala Harris has done something
- 49:57Speaker 5: as VP besides being a under burdened by what has
- 50:01Speaker 5: been When and where is Mike performing his latest complete
- 50:04Speaker 5: stand up routine?
- 50:05Speaker 3: I'd love to catch the show.
- 50:06Speaker 16: Oh thanks, So, you know, maybe Dave, maybe we should
- 50:08Speaker 16: do you know, you do stand up well, I very
- 50:11Speaker 16: let him did it a little bit in the past.
- 50:13Speaker 5: We should do that, Tex says, Stop asking Jim Justice
- 50:15Speaker 5: about whatever silly lie he wants you to believe about
- 50:18Speaker 5: his scandalo's financial dealings. Ask him for evidence that he's
- 50:20Speaker 5: not involved in a business, any business that doesn't personally
- 50:23Speaker 5: benefit from his posician as governor, and that he's not
- 50:26Speaker 5: a security risk because of his extensive debt where his
- 50:29Speaker 5: tax returns, blind trust and separation of business and government.
- 50:32Speaker 16: I couldn't say it better myself. And that's why he
- 50:34Speaker 16: is a liability, and he is a compromised person, and
- 50:38Speaker 16: he should not should not be representing West Virginia in
- 50:42Speaker 16: the United States Senate. And does anyone really think he's
- 50:46Speaker 16: going to show up? He said, I don't think. He
- 50:48Speaker 16: said there was system. There's not a fiber in me
- 50:51Speaker 16: that wants to go to Washington. Well, yeah, I agree.
- 50:53Speaker 16: He shouldn't go to Washington. D See, he doesn't come
- 50:55Speaker 16: to Charleston during the session as governor. So you can't
- 50:59Speaker 16: phone in the job of a United States Senator. And
- 51:03Speaker 16: West Virginia deserves a senator who's going to show up,
- 51:06Speaker 16: and a Glenn Elliott is an excellent choice for Senate.
- 51:09Speaker 16: He was an intern when he was a right fresh
- 51:12Speaker 16: out of law school. He was an intern for Senator Bird.
- 51:15Speaker 16: He knows how the Senate works, he knows where it is,
- 51:18Speaker 16: and he actually plans on showing up and doing the job.
- 51:21Speaker 16: That's where we should cast our vote.
- 51:23Speaker 5: But a valid show on five of the Line, Brow

- 51:31Speaker 5: so Governor Justice is I mean, I know you're behind
- 51:35Speaker 5: your guy, Glenn Elliott, and I like Glenn. He's been
- 51:37Speaker 5: on the show before. But the polls have shown Governor
- 51:39Speaker 5: Justice continues to go up in polls. He's still one
- 51:41Speaker 5: of the most popular governors in America. It's an uphill climb, Mike,
- 51:44Speaker 5: that people simply do not care about his financial dealings.
- 51:47Speaker 6: Well, you know, we're all very proud.
- 51:50Speaker 16: Of the Greenbrier. I mean, it's part of West Virginia history.
- 51:53Speaker 16: And you and I be ashamed to see an auctioned
- 51:55Speaker 16: off on the courthouse steps because of this guy, because
- 51:58Speaker 16: of the way this guy treats big business partners, because
- 52:01Speaker 16: he does he refuses to pay debts, and for him
- 52:03Speaker 16: to make the insinuation that somehow he's being singled out
- 52:07Speaker 16: and getting treated this way because he's the governor. Of course,
- 52:10Speaker 16: I think most people realize he's getting special treatment because
- 52:13Speaker 16: he who he is. If you or I could not
- 52:15Speaker 16: get away with not even a tenth of what Jim
- 52:18Speaker 16: Justice has gotten away with in life, do you.
- 52:20Speaker 3: Want to buy the Greenbrier? Maybe you an occupy it? Yeah, okay,
- 52:23Speaker 3: all right, we gotta go. Mike, thanks for being here
