  we're going on the hunt with Rod Nichols and we're gonna be discussing the Texas

  dog Man Triangle and were wolves and dog men of Texas. Rod Nichols is

  from Bear County Bigfoot Research Project. Rod has been researching bigfoot in and around
• 4:46
  San Antonio, Texas for some time and has come across quite a bit of
• 4:50
  possible bigfoot evidence. In addition to the bigfoot findings, he may have also

  stumbled upon a dog man trackway. Pictures of these tracks can be found in

  with you. And I was I'm very blessed to just be here just shooting

  the breeze with you about some cryptids and some cool stuff, you know.

  Oh yeah, oh yeah, absolutely well, Okay, I was actually out
• 5:41
  doing some cryptid hunting this weekend. I was for the past couple of days,
• 5:45
  and like I said, I just got home. God, it felt
• 5:47
  good to take a shower when I got home to it. From being out
• 5:51
  in the woods, you get a little you get a little sweaty and humid
• 5:55
  and yeah, good shower. Let's just say, is a little little huge
• 6:00
  mid yeah, oh my god, like way humid it was, so it
• 6:04
  was. It was actually very nice out there today, but it was it
• 6:09
  was a little bit humid. The weather wasn't too hot, but it started
• 6:12
  dumping rain and it was right when I finally got my keys out of my
• 6:15
  vehicle today. I had the whole team out there pulling my windows apart and
• 6:20
  ticking metal things down inside my car. It took us a while, but
• 6:26
  we got it open. So you know, it's funny when you like your
• 6:28
  keys in your car, Like everybody's got a methodology of how to do it,
• 6:31
  and everybody wants to tell you, like you gotta do this, No,
• 6:33
  you gotta do it listening, you know you gotta, and it's like
• 6:36
  okay, oh man. Yeah. We we had like metal rods, we
• 6:43
  had duct tape, we had we got we rode our buddy a rod.
• 6:46
  He had his toolbox out and we were duct taping stuff together and we were
• 6:53
  you know what, you know what ended up working. But my buddy keys
• 6:57
  actually got like a copper tube and he put stream down it and he stuck
• 7:00
  it through the window and then he looped it around and looped it around the
• 7:03
  thing that pulls up to lock the door and it and like did it real
• 7:08
  carefully and then tight and pulled it in it. That's what finally opened my
• 7:11
  back. It was that yeah, that guy, that guy has got something
• 7:15
  eased to patent, that invention or something. You know, it was so
• 7:19
  great we went we won the super Bowl or something when he finally got it.
• 7:25
  So yeah, oh yeah, yeah, you won a prize of some
• 7:28
  sort like your car back and you know, your whole life and all that
• 7:30
  stuff. So oh my gosh, I was so happy. So yeah,
• 7:33
  so dut duct tape for the wind, uh, propper copper rod for the
• 7:38
  wind and string okay and uh but yeah, everybody put in equal hard work
• 7:44
  to that today. So uh but yeah, ultimately we were there to go
• 7:47
  celebrate the life of the head of my research team and and we just we
• 7:51
  had a very beautiful day to day. So it was amazing. Well,
• 7:56
  you know, I wanted to say rest in peace, Grumpy got rest of
• 7:58
  snow man, and he sounded like just a vital piece of of of your
• 8:03
  team and family. It sounds like he was just a family member and uh,
• 8:07
  a very important person to you. So you know, God lessons,
• 8:11
  he was very very important person and uh and very important in the research field,
• 8:16
  okay and uh and and I think it's so important that we recognize all
• 8:20
  of the boots on the ground field research that's going on el because this is
• 8:26
  very dangerous. Like we had to have a real talk today with the whole
• 8:30
  team. Unfortunately, two of the people who I mean everybody's main player on
• 8:37
  our team everybody but Tim and GRUMPI they were those are the two guys that
• 8:41
  walked into a portal, and we have that on video. They've both passed
• 8:46
  away then, and and so we have to kind of factor that in,
• 8:50
  like we had to have a real talk today, like really, do we
• 8:54
  are we going to continue this research in this area because of that? Right?
• 9:00
  And that that's you know, that's a that's a real conversation you have
• 9:03
  to have, especially when you've had you know, uh core members like that,
• 9:07
  uh that are willing to uh really and truly I think sacrifice themselves for
• 9:13
  for the research and for uh I think that to me, in my mind,
• 9:16
  the greater good. Uh. And and you know, whatever you know
• 9:22
  transpires, you know, from going in and out or whatever happens or you
• 9:26
  know physically or you know, we we don't know. And that's that's a
• 9:28
  real conversation to be had. I So that's good that you guys did that,
• 9:33
  you know, I mean, really is you know, not a single
• 9:35
  person said no, they want to quit. We're like, we're just gonna
• 9:39
  now this ground is sacred. We're staying. We ain't going nowhere, keep
• 9:43
  it going. Yeah, absolutely, Yeah, And I think I would say,
• 9:48
  and I don't know this person, but I would say that that would
• 9:50
  probably be something he'd want you guys to do, so, you know,
• 9:54
  because that that's what I would want from from from my people, if if
• 9:58
  that was me. So oh yeah, oh yeah, we're gonna keep We're

  gonna keep the research going. And and you've got a lot of research going
• 10:05
  on over in Texas. You know, we're over here in the southeast and
• 10:07
  you're you're in the South but just kind of in the middle of the country
• 10:11
  with a lot of cryptid activity. And it's not just okay, you're you,
• 10:15
  you're your focus with your the title of your research is Bear County Bigfoot.
• 10:22
  But just like me, I'm a big foot field researcher. But we
• 10:24
  run into a lot of stuff out there. Yeah, so what's going on
• 10:28
  with the with the dog man stuff. You've come across some dogman tracks?
• 10:33
  Yeah, so you know, going back to gosh, I want to say,
• 10:39
  over a year ago, almost coming up on two years almost, I
• 10:43
  think a year and a half. I'll see, you know, I made
• 10:48
  friends with Aaron D's from uh Hay, Strangeness and now he's the full time
• 10:52
  uh content guy for small Town Monsters and rightfully. So he's brilliant guy.

  He's uh he's amazing, very smart and uh just a great guy to be
• 11:03
  around. And you know we we kind of connected and uh he had you
• 11:09
  know, talked about writing this book, you know, the Texas dog Man
• 11:15
  Triangle where Wilson, Texas. And you know, I was I thought it
• 11:20
  was great. I was supportive that. I was like, man, this
• 11:22
  is awesome. And and at that time, you have to I think for
• 11:24
  me, I didn't think like a lot of other uh cryptid researchers, uh
• 11:30
  me, I would there be say cryptozoologists, you know dog Man is even
• 11:33
  though it had been seen years and years and years, there's there's folklore of
• 11:39
  it. You know, it wasn't really on the plate for us. It
• 11:41
  really wasn't. It wasn't something that was like, hey, I'm going to
• 11:45
  go out and research dog Man. That wasn't something that was out there or
• 11:50
  or even in our vocabulary, right. So you know, I have to
• 11:54
  say for me myself, Aaron was somebody that brought that to the forefront and
• 11:58
  brought it up, you know, to me and said, hey, like
• 12:01
  this is what I'm doing, and you know everything that entails that. So
• 12:05
  I thought, okay, great, but you know, it really hit home
• 12:07
  when my youngest daughter, we we went out to a park, a wilderness
• 12:13
  park that you know, I happened to have found, you know, several
• 12:18
  wood structures, and you know, what I believe is trace evidence of some
• 12:22
  cryptid you know, whether it's sasquatch or dog man or whatever. I didn't
• 12:28
  know, but you know, that's kind of my specialty. Are are the
• 12:30
  wood structures? You know. So we went out there and I told myself,
• 12:35
  you know, hey, Rod, it's you know, it's it's my
• 12:37
  wife and my youngest daughter. Let's let's let's turn off the research your brain
• 12:41
  and let's just kind of try to relax and have fun and you know,
• 12:45
  enjoy your family. Well, I found out that I can't do that,
• 12:48
  and you know, my my youngest and ended up finding a trackway and it
• 12:56
  was it was it would appear that this trackway was sasquatch related. It was
• 13:01
  linear in fashion, and and you know, it's funny. I even told
• 13:05
  myself, I'm leaving my phone in the car and blah blah blah. And
• 13:09
  when she found that, I didn't I didn't fully believe her at the time.
• 13:15
  I thought, you know, hey, you know, thirteen year old
• 13:16
  kids. She's just trying to have fun or whatever. And and she keeps
• 13:20
  on, you know, tell me, hey, hey, come on,
• 13:22
  come on, check us out, check this out. And I'm like,
• 13:24
  what are you? What are you looking at? So finely we got up
• 13:26
  and you know, uh, you know, we were in a grassy area.
• 13:28
  Got up and looked and come to find out, this is a linear
• 13:31
  trackway and these prints look pretty good side and I'm like, whoa, I
• 13:35
  think we've got something. So after we followed that linear trackway, I went
• 13:39
  and got my phone and it brought us down into a holler and you know,
• 13:46
  all these wood structures were there. I want to say, man,
• 13:48
  Jessica is probably like maybe five or six of these wood structures, And it
• 13:52
  was really interesting that they were so close in proximity to each other, and
• 13:56
  they were they had really big peace piece and I mean we're talking about trees
• 14:03
  that are probably fifteen foot tall with the root system still attached to them.
• 14:07
  It was really interesting. So I was marveling at all these woods trucks,
• 14:11
  going are you kidding me? Like we just went here just to hang out
• 14:16
  and chill and have family time, and here I am back in it like
• 14:20
  out of nowhere, right, So we're looking I'm looking at all this stuff
• 14:24
  and this this holler. It's so it's got such a canopy like over it
• 14:28
  that it kind of darkens the area. So even if it's sunny out,
• 14:33
  when you go into that to that holler, it's a little dark and it
• 14:37
  makes it even a little bit more creepier. So we were checking it out,
• 14:41
  and you know, I was just kind of looking at everything and trying
• 14:45
  to just get a feel for the lay of the land. And and suddenly,
• 14:48
  you know, it started getting you know, dusky and dark and stuff.
• 14:52
  And my my youngest again was like, hey, we gotta go,
• 14:56
  we gotta go. He was adamant, adamant, adamant. Then my was
• 15:00
  like we gotta go, we gotta go. And I was like, well,
• 15:01
  hey, you guys, chill out, hold on, let me look
• 15:03
  at this. And they're like, no, no, no, something is
• 15:07
  I feel like something is staring at I feel like I'm being watched. I
• 15:09
  feel like I'm being watched and I don't like it. It was eerie,
• 15:11
  and it was to the point where she was almost in tears where she was
• 15:16
  telling me and I was like WHOA, Okay, we gotta go. And
• 15:20
  right as we started leaving, I happened. I just happened to look down
• 15:26
  and I found a print. And little did I know that this print was
• 15:31
  in line with what Aaron had seen through other people that have had dog Man
• 15:37
  encounters, siding things like that it was in line with this. I guess
• 15:43
  this print was just something that wow, it fits right. So I leaned
• 15:48
  down, took a picture of it, put my foot up against it,
• 15:50
  took a picture of it, put my hand up against it, took a
• 15:52
  picture of it, and just you know, just real quick, did it
• 15:54
  and then thought nothing of it, ran out, We got in the car,
• 15:58
  took off. Uh. Later on, I text Aaron and I go,
• 16:03
  hey, look, this is a really weird print. Man, I
• 16:06
  don't know what you make of this, but I'm gonna send it to you.
• 16:08
  I sent it to him and he's like, dude, dude, this
• 16:11
  is like, this is like what I'm I've seen, like, this is
• 16:15
  in line with some of the evidence. And now at that point, you
• 16:21
  know, again I'm ignorant to dog Man. I don't know much about it,
• 16:25
  right, So then he describes it and tells me, you know,
• 16:29
  you know, some of these people I've seen different types of dog Man and
• 16:32
  you know, and the these sightings, you know, some of these sightings,
• 16:37
  he has made it like a triangle like you know in Texas, and
• 16:41
  it's kind of interesting that it's kind of made that shape. Okay, cool,
• 16:45
  So I sent it to him. Next thing, I know, he's
• 16:48
  like, hey, Rod, can he use these in the book? And
• 16:51
  I'm like absolutely, of course. And you're my you're one of my good
• 16:53
  friends. Of course. So the next thing, you know, I'm signing
• 16:57
  off the the you know, the papers to agree to you know, use
• 17:03
  use my name and you know all that stuff. And it made its way
• 17:07
  in the book. And then towards the end of the actual documentary that they
• 17:11
  did for this book, Uh you see the print. Uh you know,
• 17:15
  Shannon le Gaux tells asks Aaron, you know, is there anybody else in
• 17:18
  Texas that you know of that if had you know, seeing any evidence or
• 17:23
  you know whatever, and he's like, yeah, a gentleman in San Antonio
• 17:27
  has documented a print that is in line with a dog man prints or alleged
• 17:33
  dog man prints, I should say. And then they show the print and
• 17:37
  to me, it blew my mind because here I am, I'm, I'm
• 17:41
  I'm going after bigfoot, sasquatch. This is that's what I'm thinking. And
• 17:47
  then I stopped. I stopped to think, and I said, wouldn't it
• 17:49
  be something this whole time, I'm chasing a dog man and not a sasquatch
• 17:56
  And that that opened it up for a lot of other things too, And
• 17:59
  come to find out, there have been some other sightings in the city and
• 18:04
  outside the city of this upright walking canine. So opened a whole new can
• 18:10
  of worms for me. So now I've I've implemented dog man in the equation
• 18:17
  because I don't know definitively what I'm going after. You know, my mom
• 18:23
  said, hey, Rod, you're going after sasquatch, sasquatch, bigfoot,
• 18:27
  right, And then the rent of the machine is this print? And I
• 18:32
  go, okay, maybe it's dog man. So you know, that's that's
• 18:37
  something that I've always Since then, I've thrown into the equation, like I
• 18:41
  said, and you know, come to find out, and I told you,
• 18:45
  you know, like I told you earlier, I've got a couple of
• 18:48
  elderly ladies that I interviewed on phone that had an encounter with a canine that
• 18:56
  was odd, that didn't belong in tech is you know, and so that
• 19:03
  makes you wonder it really does What do you mean by odd? What do
• 19:07
  they say? Do they say, like was it walking on two legs?
• 19:11
  Or was it just like not right that it had like a human face or
• 19:14
  something it was not it was not right. And the fact that this canine
• 19:22
  looked like a wolf, oh okay, wolves aren't in Texas to my knowledge,
• 19:29
  you know. And she said it was bigger than a great dane,
• 19:33
  bigger than a great dane. And it had pointed ears, which which is
• 19:40
  now and now when she's describing these things, I'm thinking of the encounters that
• 19:44
  I've heard first that encounters from people that have had interviews with other podcasts,
• 19:48
  and it's in line point ears. It kind of looks like a wolf.

  It grinned at them, It smiled at them like a sinator sinister smile,
• 20:00
  the yellow glowing eyes, you know old was that? I hear that a
• 20:07
  lot, okay, Like that's what I hear with a lot of the encounters
• 20:11
  of the dog men are like they look like they're smiling at you. It's
• 20:15
  kind of ominous or smiling, and they eat road killed. That's like the
• 20:19
  Beast of Ray Road. I believe was seen. Uh some of course I
• 20:23
  get are uh and like I did, I did that show. We talked
• 20:27
  about the dog man in the graveyard that was digging that hole in the cemetery
• 20:32
  and Omberio and uh and Comedy Norris who took who went out and did the
• 20:36
  actual field investigation for that and knew the two young ladies who had taken that
• 20:40
  video of that grave digging dog man. She said that there have been reports
• 20:45
  where people she took reports from people with people seeing that they it looked like
• 20:49
  a I think it was like a dog man, like a dog, but
• 20:53
  it was gigantic and it was eating a dead deer on the side of the
• 20:56
  road I believe, like road killed. Yeah, And this is and now
• 21:02
  and so I originally interviewed these this one lady, she was super nice and
• 21:07
  gracious. Originally I was interviewing her for her for her encounter sighting that she
• 21:12
  had of a sasquatch and a led sasquatch in an area where that is in
• 21:18
  line with the creek that I've been researching for over six years now, right,
• 21:23
  So I thought, Okay, this is in line with the area the
• 21:29
  creek that I've been researching for years. And she described the sasquatch and she
• 21:34
  said, you know, Rod, she said, when I saw this creature,
• 21:37
  she said it was a female because she saw the anatomy, and she
• 21:41
  said it looked more human like than ape covered in hair. She said it
• 21:45
  probably about eight foot tall, three foot wide shoulders, And she said she
• 21:52
  made it a point to tell me that she was not really scared witnessing this
• 21:56
  creature. She wanted to see more. She was like, you know,
• 22:00
  her sister and and and the daughter in law that was in the back seat
• 22:03
  were just freaking out, like let's go, let's go, let's go.
• 22:07
  And here she is just sitting there, just going no, I want to
• 22:07
  see this thing. And it was kind of weird because, you know,
• 22:12
  she said, this did not strike fear into me. I was interested.
• 22:18
  And then I asked. I threw her a curve ball. I said,
• 22:21
  hey, I said, is there any chance, by any chance, have
• 22:23
  you seen an upright walking canine? And she said, wait a minute,
• 22:29
  yes I have. And it was last week. And I was like,
• 22:33
  whoa, are you serious? And and so she said no, no,
• 22:36
  no, If you don't believe me, Rod, my friend is here that
• 22:40
  was with me that that night, and she could she could tell you the
• 22:42
  same story. So she brought the friend on the phone and she had the
• 22:47
  same exact story. So they're driving on this country road and they live further
• 22:53
  south from San Antonio, and uh, they're you know, they're I guess
• 22:57
  they're going back home there. What the backway they go? And they on
• 23:03
  this country ard they see this canine. Uh, they put the they put
• 23:07
  the headlights on it. They're driving, you know, maybe thirty forty miles
• 23:11
  and they slow down. They see this canine. It's eating roadkill. And
• 23:15
  they and again, like she said, it was bigger than a great day,
• 23:18
  and it was huge, and it looked like a wolf and the eyes
• 23:22
  were glowing yellow. Now back to when she saw the sasquatch, she said,
• 23:26
  Look, I was interested. I was all about I want to see
• 23:29
  this thing. I wanted to see it walk. And you know, she
• 23:30
  described everything. This thing, she said, instilled fear in her instantly,
• 23:36
  Like instantly, it was just like like frozen in fear. And it grinned
• 23:42
  at one point in time. Uh, it grabbed the road kill and walked
• 23:48
  off on two legs. What yeah, you said it was a deer,
• 23:53
  road kill er? What what kind of rok was? They didn't say what
• 23:56
  kind of road kill it was because they couldn't really see what the roadkill was,
• 24:00
  but they were they were definite on this thing was huge. It was
• 24:04
  big, grinned at them, yellow glowing eyes, picked up whatever it was
• 24:10
  that it was eating, and then walked off on two legs. And I
• 24:15
  thought this is interesting because I was talking to her about bigfoot, I mean,
• 24:19
  and then I just threw her a curve. Have you seen an upright
• 24:22
  walking canine by chance? Like? I just thought i'd throw it out there,
• 24:25
  and turns out, wow, a week prior to us talking, she
• 24:32
  saw that, and it blew my mind. So now so now again me
• 24:36
  thinking that it's not just sasquatch that I'm looking into researching it. It could
• 24:45
  be dog maned, you know, I don't know, so yeah, okay,
• 24:51
  yeah, okay. So that's kind of like where my team's at too,
• 24:53
  right, because we've been out there looking for Bigfoot. We've established that
• 24:57
  the bigfoots are out there, we know foots are out there. We've kind
• 25:00
  of, I'm not gonna say we've like graduated from bigfoot, but you know,
• 25:04
  it's not it's not it's not a graduation thing. But it's like,
• 25:07
  okay, we've established that they're there. Okay now, but but bla blah
• 25:12
  blah blah. But okay, there's so much other stuff. It's just fascinating.

  And it's not just cryptis. You know. My team's into like the
• 25:19
  portals and the met's and we're we're getting visitations in our homes and stuff and
• 25:26
  like, oh, well, I was hatting in a while. I hope,
• 25:29
