- 0:19and Scott Moskowitz. Hey, welcome back to No
- 0:25ID, North Idaho's mainstream media deconstruction.
- 0:31I'm Scott. Hello internet, I'm Paul. What a glorious
- 0:36overcast day it is today. It's beautiful. I love
- 0:40it being cooler. It looks like rain. I hope it
- 0:42rains. I'm gonna smoke a cigar outside later.
- 0:45Look at you go. Are you gonna now is it gonna
- 0:47be like a victory cigar? Because I learned in
- 0:49our pre show show, which lasted a little longer
- 0:52than it has in the last few weeks. So it was
- 0:54nice to get back to our 20 minute do the show
- 0:55before the show routine that you were a head
- 0:59coach. over the weekend. And so is it going to
- 1:02be a celebratory cigar after a successful bout
- 1:04of paintballing? Heck, yeah. Yeah, I was. I was
- 1:09coaching a paintball team. My son's on it. My
- 1:12brother's on it. I would have been on it, but
- 1:14I'm all crippled. So I got relegated to clipboard.
- 1:18And we took third place in the podium. First
- 1:21time this season. So give context. Three out
- 1:25of how many? What doesn't sound as impressive
- 1:29when I say I thought it might not tell us anyway
- 1:33You suck. Well three out of twelve. Oh, that's
- 1:38all right. Actually, it's harder than it sounds
- 1:40competitive tournament paintball is very difficult
- 1:42stuff. It is it's Just like a lot of things in
- 1:46life if you were to watch it versus you were
- 1:48to do it it would very quickly change your perspective
- 1:51on what is required and how difficult it is and
- 1:54Getting to the podium is actually quite difficult
- 1:56even with 12 teams. So yeah, that's pretty exciting.
- 2:00I was happy for my guys. First podium of the
- 2:02season. So six events. This was the fourth one
- 2:06and we got some hardware out of the deal. Now
- 2:10there's an actual podium, I'm assuming. Like
- 2:12who got to stand up there on the third peg or
- 2:16third box? Oh, I knocked all of them off and
- 2:18I stood there all alone. I was like this, I'd
- 2:20like to dedicate this victory to me, the coach
- 2:22who coached you to victory. Third, third victory.
- 2:26Sorry. My kid's really going. Hold on. Sorry.
- 2:31I'm back. I just had to just had to beat my 16
- 2:33month year old real quick. Just, just give him
- 2:35some stuff, some chicken feed into his mouth.
- 2:37We'll be fine. Nope. Oh, there he is. Let's hurt
- 2:42him again. Yeah. This, this is, this is how coaching
- 2:44goes where if you, if the team wins, it's cause
- 2:47they're well coached and if they lose it's cause
- 2:50the players didn't perform. Exactly. They did
- 2:53not execute the plays that I drew up. Either
- 2:56way, it's their fault. And that's what matters.
- 2:59I'm tempted to do a show. It was fun. It was
- 3:01a good time. A show art of you as a like a direct
- 3:05because like in hockey, for example, you know,
- 3:07the coach is on the is on the bench, like behind
- 3:10the players and wearing a suit, you know. So
- 3:13it would be cool to see you like on the third
- 3:15box of the podium while in while in like number
- 3:19two and number one. are like, you know, covered
- 3:22in paint and with them, you know, like they clearly
- 3:25just got off the field. And there you are, like
- 3:27with a bouquet of flowers in like a three piece
- 3:29suit. Dude, we could do it like the meme that
- 3:33went around has been going around where there's,
- 3:35you know, the guy popping the champagne and pouring
- 3:38it all over himself and giving middle fingers
- 3:40to the crowd. And then it pans out and he's like
- 3:43in 10th place on the 10th place podium. He's
- 3:46all the way down there. You know the one I'm
- 3:49talking about. I do. Yep. It's like, it's like
- 3:51an illustration, like a cartoon. Yeah. Well,
- 3:55there was no podium, but there was champagne
- 3:56and it did end up all over all of us. So it was
- 3:59a good time. Yeah. The middle fingers are good.
- 4:01Like F all y 'all. So now the reason though that
- 4:05I think we Well, I'm I might have to put I'm
- 4:08not sure which artwork show art to put on hold
- 4:11for for next week because I have a Submission
- 4:14for show art sort of it was submitted as sort
- 4:17of a meme by our one of our producers CJ And
- 4:20I was like, hey man, I think you might have just
- 4:22submitted show art. I'm gonna give you credit
- 4:24for it He was like, oh hell yeah, I'm all for
- 4:25it. And it was the long bridge to Sandpoint Like
- 4:30rendered as if it had like a six lane toll booth
- 4:33and it was like, you know $15 a day like, you
- 4:35know The Golden Gate Bridge or whatever. It was
- 4:37pretty funny. And this happened to come up too
- 4:40on the... The Long Bridge pedestrian path is
- 4:46opening up back next month. You may remember
- 4:48that the Idaho Transportation Department closed
- 4:51the bridge for emergency repairs a couple of
- 4:53weeks ago. It won't be fully open, but there
- 4:56will be a designated path so people can avoid
- 4:59the areas that need more repair. So they're continuing
- 5:02to work. So of course I heard that and I was
- 5:04like, oh, they're actually just building these
- 5:06toll booths. Like that's for sure what's happening
- 5:07because it happened to just be submitted like
- 5:10a couple yesterday even. by CJ. So, but I don't
- 5:14know how topical this maybe we're going to have,
- 5:16maybe I can cause that's sort of an evergreen.
- 5:18Maybe I can keep that one. Yeah. And use the,
- 5:23the podium one instead for this week. Cause I
- 5:24kind of liked that. And it would be just hilarious.
- 5:28And so apropos, if when construction was done,
- 5:30sure enough, there's toll booths at the end of
- 5:32at the end, both ends of the bridge, but not
- 5:35for the people who drive for the people who walk
- 5:38toll to use the path. Oh here, it slightly reminds
- 5:44me of this from a few shows ago. You shouldn't
- 5:45have to pay tax to breathe. But you should have
- 5:48to pay tax to walk. Or park. Or make money. Or
- 5:53own your house. Or own a car. Or spend your money.
- 5:56Or save your money. Or heat your house. Or have
- 6:00something transported to you. No, they basically
- 6:02do tax error. That's a carbon tax. You shouldn't
- 6:05have to pay tax to breathe. Now, thank you to
- 6:09CJ, even though he wasn't really attempting to
- 6:11submit show art, for returning some value to
- 6:14the show. And that is the Value for Value model.
- 6:17We definitely will use it for show art. Oh, for
- 6:19sure. Yep. It's in the chamber. I think if somebody's
- 6:24willing to send us something like that more often
- 6:26than not, if we can find a way to wriggle it
- 6:28in topically, we're gonna and we're going to
- 6:30use it as show art because that's what the people
- 6:32deserve. You guys send stuff in, you deserve
- 6:34it. Yep, and that's the model value for value
- 6:38Contributing back value to this program if you
- 6:40find it valuable and we'll get to all that a
- 6:42little later in the show in the meantime as long
- 6:44as we're Talking about taxes and the things that
- 6:46never get brought up with regard to why things
- 6:48are expensive I wasn't going to start with this,
- 6:50but you know why not we're sort of on that topic.
- 6:52This is from KTVB and they Very regularly bring
- 6:56their hands about why things are so expensive
- 6:59in Idaho and specifically this one is about housing
- 7:02the Trump administration The Trump administration
- 7:05is touting a draft Federal Reserve paper that
- 7:08says illegal immigration under Joe Biden made
- 7:12housing much less affordable. But local analysts
- 7:14are saying there's another big reason housing
- 7:17is unaffordable. here in Idaho doesn't core joins
- 7:20us now with what exactly that paper says. Well,
- 7:24it's a lot of numbers, but I'm break it down
- 7:26for y 'all. The paper is actually talking about
- 7:28a percentage of a percentage. And again, it is
- 7:32a draft. President Trump posted this on his social
- 7:35media platform on Sunday, saying quote, Biden
- 7:38illegal immigrant wave drove up home prices 30
- 7:42% end quote. That's not quite what the paper
- 7:45claimed, though. The paper was written by two
- 7:46authors at the San Francisco and Dallas Federal
- 7:49Reserve, looked at housing price growth under
- 7:52President Joe Biden from 2021 to 2024. The paper
- 7:56claims that home prices rose by more than 6 %
- 7:59in that stretch and rose by. more than 4 % that
- 8:03being rent. It also claims that 30 % of that
- 8:06price growth in the average metropolitan area
- 8:09is due to illegal immigration. Not that illegal
- 8:14immigration spiked home prices. by 30%. So essentially
- 8:18that illegal immigration specifically, this paper
- 8:20says, raised home prices by less than 2%. Also,
- 8:25those immigrants raised local employment by holding
- 8:28onto jobs and were not eligible for unemployment,
- 8:31food, help or Medicaid. And the paper mostly
- 8:34pointed the finger for home prices spiking at
- 8:37locals for not responding to the increased need
- 8:40for housing for all people, not just immigrants,
- 8:43but you know, building more housing. What does
- 8:46that look like? So here's what's really funny
- 8:50about this is listening to the mainstream media
- 8:53actually disseminate this findings a little bit
- 8:56because it does fit their narrative of, you know,
- 9:01fighting against Trump and Trump's narrative,
- 9:03which is pretty delusional most of the time,
- 9:05all on its own. I mean, the demand is unhinged.
- 9:07It's hilarious. His his ex account is something
- 9:11to behold. But. Rarely does the mainstream media
- 9:15go out of their way or take the time to break
- 9:18down and disseminate stuff like this almost ever,
- 9:20except for when it's against Trump and they can
- 9:22prove a point. But ironically, in doing so, they
- 9:26actually, as they will when you listen, say the
- 9:29truth out loud. The biggest factor that impedes
- 9:34housing being affordable is at the local level.
- 9:37Its state, its county, and its city, primarily
- 9:41county and city. It's regulatory issues. It's
- 9:44red tape. It's NIMBYs. NIMBYs is an acronym for
- 9:48not in my backyard. Primarily, it's boomers who
- 9:52already have theirs and basically just go, yeah,
- 9:56well, we got ours. Screw everyone else. I don't
- 10:00want you to develop in my backyard or next to
- 10:01me. So beat it, kid. And then, you know, they
- 10:07also are the same people who turn around and
- 10:08wonder why housing is so expensive for their
- 10:09kids. We're having the same in North Idaho. We
- 10:12are renowned for this up here, Scott. Just talk
- 10:15to anybody in the Coeur d 'Alene Post Falls or
- 10:17Sandpoint area. All they do is bitch about the
- 10:20cost of housing and the moment a developer wants
- 10:22to build more houses. What do you think happens?
- 10:25They build freely and cheaply. Oh, yeah. There
- 10:31you go. Thank you. You beat me to it. You're
- 10:33welcome. I buzzed myself. Yeah, the opposite.
- 10:39What does that look like we and we've covered
- 10:41this before where? the cost of a new housing
- 10:45build About 25 % of it is straight up just from
- 10:50regulatory Expenses that's the cost of inspections
- 10:54that the government lays on the developers. That's
- 10:57the lost Opportunity time cost of how long you
- 11:01have to wait for the inspections. That is the
- 11:04way things have to be built due to universal
- 11:07building code that most counties have adopted
- 11:08and anybody who's ever dealt with universal building
- 11:10code hates it with a fiery passion anybody who's
- 11:13on the consumer side anyways if you're the bureaucrat
- 11:16you love it because the binder is massive and
- 11:18it gives you total godlike powers over everything
- 11:20that happens but most of it is Does the door,
- 11:23is the door, does it swing, you know, three inches
- 11:26versus two inches away from the sink, you know,
- 11:30and the sink has to be exactly 42 inches high
- 11:33and 36 inches away from the door. And there's
- 11:35gotta be a railing exactly here and this and
- 11:37that. And the other, when you're in the business
- 11:39world, you deal with this shit all the time too.
- 11:41And it's what, what makes renovating your space
- 11:44or running a business so nightmarish as well.
- 11:47Not only do you get to have the thick binder,
- 11:50and, you know, micromanage every little part
- 11:54of the process, you get to do so while feeling
- 11:57moral about what you're doing, which reminds
- 11:59me of that C .S. Lewis quote that I conveniently
- 12:01added to my soundboard. And since he knows he
- 12:20is doing wrong, he may cease to do so. But those
- 12:23who torment us for our own good will torment
- 12:25us without end, for they do so with the approval
- 12:28of their own conscience. Your thing keeps giving
- 12:31me the... I've heard it like five times already.
- 12:34The laptop. Are you like trying to click on Windows?
- 12:38No, no, no. It's my email. I have my email client
- 12:42up and it keeps notifying me of emails I already
- 12:45have. I don't know why. I'm turning it on. I'm
- 12:47getting out of it. Yeah, well meddlers who think
- 12:51they are meddling for the good of humanity will
- 12:52never stop meddling. So when you're oppressing
- 12:57people for the sake of their own safety, it's
- 12:58like traffic tickets, right? We've talked about
- 13:00this. The whole idea of citing people for driving
- 13:03over the speed limit and giving them a moving
- 13:04violation or traffic ticket, they always say
- 13:07it's for public safety. Okay, well I can safely
- 13:09operate my vehicle 15 to 20 miles over the speed
- 13:12limit in most spots than most people can. I can,
- 13:14I'm a good driver. I know how to navigate the
- 13:16road, I'm fine. I don't need this. I don't need
- 13:18this. But you pull me over. You give me a 95
- 13:21or $150 ticket. And if the interaction goes well,
- 13:25that's about as good as it can go. And I get
- 13:27the ticket. And then if I don't pay it, eventually
- 13:30those same armed men come to my door and either
- 13:33kidnap me and put me in jail or kill me or maim
- 13:36me when I resist. Or if I resist on the roadside
- 13:39right then and there and say, no, you don't have
- 13:41a right to do this. This is bullshit. You're
- 13:43a highwayman. You're extorting me on the road.
- 13:46No, the killer made me right then and there.
- 13:49Most of the general public. No, thanks. I'd like
- 13:53to unsubscribe, please. Before we continue on
- 13:57here with this why on God's Earth is housing
- 14:00so expensive, KTBV wants to know yet again, you
- 14:03know, what never gets brought up in any of this?
- 14:07What happened to the currency during the quote
- 14:10Biden presidency, close quote? It's not housing.
- 14:13Well, it's not just housing. That's more. That's
- 14:1530 percent, 50 percent, whatever the numbers
- 14:16you throw at us. More expensive. Everything is
- 14:19what? Oh, what? Pray tell happened to the currency
- 14:22during that era. Trump or Katie B or anybody
- 14:25else? Does anybody want to recognize that? Are
- 14:27we all just going to pretend that it never happened?
- 14:30No. Well, as you like to say, three guesses in
- 14:32the first two don't count. What does that look
- 14:35like in our area? Well, I talked to Ali Robbie,
- 14:38executive director of Gem State Housing Alliance,
- 14:40who says the biggest influx of people moving
- 14:42to Idaho are not from another country. They're
- 14:45from another state in the US and she says California,
- 14:49which is basically another country. The People's
- 14:52Republic. She says home building was not keeping
- 14:54up with demand before, during or now after the
- 14:59Biden administration. Unfortunately, Idaho is
- 15:02the fastest growing state. As somebody who's
- 15:04from here, I feel it and the pain that it causes
- 15:07for all of us. We have to share more of our space
- 15:10with others who are coming here. But unfortunately,
- 15:14even though we have built and are seeing Idaho
- 15:17grow, we're not building enough to keep up with
- 15:20demand. And that is what has caused. Increase
- 15:23in housing costs, supply demand. There it is.
- 15:27Authoritatively. That's the answer. The only
- 15:30answer. That's what's caused it. Moving right
- 15:32along. Every single time. And the solution is
- 15:36more government. What we need is another program
- 15:38or higher taxes or somebody in charge this time
- 15:42who really, really knows what they're doing instead
- 15:43of just really knows what they're doing. Somebody
- 15:46who's really willing to use the power of their
- 15:48office, their phone and their pen to make utopia
- 15:52actually happen. The worst part about all that
- 15:56is that it is the exact opposite. If these dumbasses
- 16:00would all just get out of the way, just get out
- 16:02of the way. Let people enjoy their property rights,
- 16:06stop taxing them into oblivion, and let developers
- 16:09do what they do best, develop, let builders build,
- 16:12developers develop. That would be a big piece
- 16:15of the puzzle. It's not the only thing. the illegal
- 16:17immigration issue is an issue and it does make
- 16:20a difference because if you if you import three
- 16:23million people into the country they got to live
- 16:26somewhere so that's a contributing factor and
- 16:28then to your earlier point yeah when you debase
- 16:31the currency as hard and as fast as it has been
- 16:34debased in the last 25 years a number of things
- 16:37happen obviously our purchasing power is decimated
- 16:40in fact would you know scott we have lost over
- 16:4470 70 percent 70 % of our purchasing power between
- 16:502000 and 2026. Mind blowing. But we also have
- 16:56printed more money in the last 10 years than
- 17:00we have in all of the last 200 years of the entire
- 17:03history of the country. So it is causation and
- 17:08correlation. But everybody acts like it just
- 17:11never happened or it doesn't exist or you just
- 17:13never address that part Yeah, it's just it's
- 17:15just lying lying by omission Yeah, it's sort
- 17:18of like them the other on one of the other podcasts
- 17:20We did we had a few a few podcasts ago where
- 17:23you know, we covered why is gas? And alcohol
- 17:26and tobacco so much more expensive in Washington
- 17:29than it is in Idaho and they run a whole segment
- 17:31on it And they never actually give answer the
- 17:33question. They asked the question, but they never
- 17:34yeah, and it's right there It's right there.
- 17:38Hmm. What could it possibly be? Well, we'll answer
- 17:41the question tonight at 11. You will. I can't
- 17:46wait. Oh, really, really, really feels like you
- 17:48guys didn't answer the question at all. And then
- 17:51I'll add to this. Why are groceries on top of
- 17:54debasing the currency? And because that obviously
- 17:56when your purchasing power goes down, that makes
- 17:58a big difference. Everything becomes everything
- 18:00is not. Everything is not more expensive, by
- 18:03the way. That's a misnomer. Exactly. That's what
- 18:06I'm trying to say. It's our money is worth less.
- 18:08Oh, the house that was 300 ,000 is worth 500
- 18:10,000 now. Yeah. Well, why do you think that is?
- 18:14Maybe it's because the 500 ,000 now is what 300
- 18:17,000 was three years ago. That among among all
- 18:20these other factors. Supply not keeping up with
- 18:23demand because of the local factors. And it is
- 18:25because we have in the last with the boomers.
- 18:28And this began with the boomers. because of the
- 18:32monetary and economic policy at the federal,
- 18:34state, county level that boomers have pursued
- 18:36their entire lives and fucked everything up in
- 18:38the process, whether they meant to or not. Boomers
- 18:42are the generation that left the last single
- 18:45square of toilet paper on the toilet paper roll
- 18:48and then got off the toilet and didn't replace
- 18:51it. Can't spare a square. No, can't spare a square.
- 18:56But the other thing is that now homes Because
- 19:00because of the way boomers have lived their lives
- 19:02and the political philosophical policies they
- 19:04have pursued monetary and fiscal So much of their
- 19:08wealth is tied up in their homes and they've
- 19:11done it this way on purpose and you know So many
- 19:13of them made massively good livings being realtors
- 19:17and the real estate industry is what it is now
- 19:19based on the boomer generation Building it up
- 19:22to what it is now. So there's a vested interest
- 19:25for housing to be more valuable Because boomers
- 19:28have lived their lives in such a way where most
- 19:30of their wealth is actually tied up in the value
- 19:32of their home So then they have to push policies
- 19:35that continue that propagate that and those who
- 19:37work in real estate have to push policies They
- 19:39continue that propagate that because that's how
- 19:41they make their living more expensive housing
- 19:43means bigger commissions. It's a hot market,
- 19:45baby. Whoo -hoo all the while pushing valuations
- 19:51to ridiculous inorganic levels and It's treating
- 19:55housing like an asset, and assets must appreciate.
- 20:01But what housing is supposed to be, and this
- 20:03is the crux of the whole thing, is a commodity.
- 20:06Housing is supposed to be a commodity, not an
- 20:09asset. Commodities are accessible and cheap.
- 20:12They have to be. Water is a commodity. Food is
- 20:15a commodity. Things that you use daily, things
- 20:18that you need to live, like housing, food, water,
- 20:22air, those are commodities. They have to be accessible
- 20:25and cheap. They're not used as assets, but housing
- 20:29has turned from commodity to asset in the last
- 20:3350 to 60 years. And that is the crux of the situation.
- 20:36There are lots of big contributing factors that
- 20:39all have led to this being the case. So they're
- 20:43all factors, but at the tippy top, the crux of
- 20:49the issue is this mentality that we have in the
- 20:52first world where your house is an asset that
- 20:56should only appreciate and you tie up your wealth
- 20:58in it. Enough to keep up with demand and that
- 21:02what that is what has caused. Increase in housing
- 21:05costs, supply demand is the major driver. So
- 21:11we saw chronic underbuilding in the 2008 era.
- 21:16But then we also have continued zoning and land
- 21:19use regulations that make it harder to build
- 21:22different types and sizes of housing, especially
- 21:25less expensive types. We also have rising construction
- 21:29costs, very challenging approval processes. that
- 21:34folks have to go through that can cause delays.
- 21:37But I do like how it's presented as always as
- 21:40if it were alien overlords that have passed down
- 21:44these rules and there's just nothing we can do
- 21:45about it. That folks have to go through. Folks
- 21:48have to go through it. We've identified a number
- 21:52of the problems. We're usually pretty decent
- 21:54at identifying what is wrong, but. Where we stop
- 21:59short and when I say we really that them the
- 22:01mainstream media and NPCs and everybody else
- 22:04status in general stop short of identifying the
- 22:07root cause Finding the symptoms is easy, but
- 22:11then going deeper and figuring out the why and
- 22:13the wherefore and what is the actual cause They
- 22:16never get there in somehow in their in their
- 22:19ape brains ape -like minds All of the all of
- 22:24these issues that they're talking about just
- 22:25occur in a vacuum They just magically happen.
- 22:28Oh, we have these problems. Well, why? Well,
- 22:30we don't know, but we probably need more laws
- 22:33to fix it. Very challenging approval processes
- 22:37that folks have to go through that can cause
- 22:40delays. We have to go through it. And then we
- 22:42also have a lot of anti -growth mindsets that
- 22:44cause housing developments to get shut down,
- 22:46which only further exacerbates our supply challenge.
- 22:51Why do we have anti -growth mindset, hon? Like,
- 22:53why? Can we, like, let's start there. Why do
- 22:56we have so many NIMBYs? Let's talk about the
- 22:59city councils. Let's talk about the county commissioners.
- 23:01Let's talk about the people who vote for them.
- 23:02Let's talk about the incentives to develop versus
- 23:04not. Let's talk about the boomers who tie up
- 23:06all their wealth in their housing, in their houses.
- 23:09Why are gas and tobacco so much higher in Washington
- 23:11versus Idaho? Next up, we don't know. So she's
- 23:16not first to say it, but our housing crisis still
- 23:18mostly comes down to supply. versus demand, Hunter.
- 23:22OK, so we talked about housing prices when it
- 23:24comes to the US, also rent prices. But what about
- 23:28our rent prices, home prices? I know you cover
- 23:30this a lot. I do. And I'm sorry, everyone. Home
- 23:34prices are up. Rent, though, is way up. It is
- 23:38real bad. But everyone has heard enough bad news
- 23:41for today. So I'll talk about that tomorrow.
- 23:43You have that to look forward to. Oh, it's not
- 23:45my fault. OK, wait a minute. So like, it's really
- 23:48bad, guys, but. Don't you worry. We have two
- 23:52new license plate options for you to choose from.
- 23:56We'll talk about that tomorrow. There's a moose
- 23:59on the license plate. And you know what? Mooses
- 24:03don't have houses either, so it's okay. Don't
- 24:05worry about it, guys. You mentioned that they're
- 24:09always willing to look at symptoms, but never
- 24:12the underlying cause. Well, speaking of symptoms,
- 24:14we have a new health fear monger of the week.
- 24:18Health officials in North Idaho are raising awareness
- 24:21about an intestinal illness caused by a parasite.
- 24:24There's been an increase in cases all around
- 24:25the US, according to the CDC. The Panhandle Health
- 24:29District says people should know the symptoms
- 24:31and how to reduce their risk. Well, what if there
- 24:34is no tomorrow? There wasn't one today. The symptoms
- 24:37and how to reduce their risk. Crematose Connor
- 24:39McAvoy telling us what they advise folks to do
- 24:42who are worried about exposure. Connor? Well,
- 24:44it's Groundhog Day. Yeah, well, cyclosporiasis
- 24:46is caused by a microscopic parasite called cyclospora.
- 24:49While health officials here say there is no indication
- 24:51of a local public health emergency, they want
- 24:54to make sure folks know what to do in case they
- 24:57think they've been exposed. And you notice it's
- 24:59always the exact same structure where they're
- 25:01like, well, they're currently, they're assuring
- 25:03us that there's no reason to... They did the
- 25:06exact same thing with COVID. They do it with
- 25:08every single disease scare of the moment. Don't
- 25:12worry public. There's no reason for you to panic
- 25:14now here is two and a half minutes of reasons
- 25:17for you to panic Yeah, well cyclosporiasis is
- 25:19caused by a microscopic parasite called cyclospora
- 25:22while health officials here say there is no education
- 25:24of a local public health emergency They want
- 25:26to make sure folks know what to do in case they
- 25:29think they've been exposed and dr Rebecca Betts
- 25:32with panhandled health district says the illness
- 25:34is most commonly spread through contaminated
- 25:36food or water and it's not typically spread from
- 25:39person to person since can include watery diarrhea,
- 25:42stomach cramps, bloating, nausea... Is watery
- 25:45diarrhea, is that not redundant? Because I don't
- 25:50want to belabor on... Something as unsavory as
- 25:54that, I'm going to just say yes. Symptoms can
- 25:58include watery diarrhea, stomach cramps, bloating,
- 26:01nausea, fatigue, and loss of appetite. She adds
- 26:04those and other symptoms usually begin about
- 26:06a week after exposure, but they can take longer
- 26:08to appear in an effective way to make sure you
- 26:11don't get it. It can be as simple as keeping
- 26:13up on proper hygiene. Washing your hands before
- 26:16an hour. OK, now that is the voice of who. He
- 26:18said it right at the beginning. Dr. Rebecca Betts
- 26:20with Panhandled Health. Dr. Rebecca Betts with
- 26:23panhandle health washing your hand These are
- 26:25the same people who will shut down your business
- 26:27if they don't like the septic system you're using
- 26:29now I exactly so I want of course I want to know
- 26:32like oh what are her what were her let me go
- 26:34find some audio of her Muffled through three
- 26:37face masks giving some absurd a force mask your
- 26:40three -year -old, you know get giving some absurd
- 26:43Totalitarian dystopia and edict, but as it turns
- 26:46out for one not a doctor She got a PhD, which
- 26:51is she they're trying to make her sound like
- 26:53she's a physician. This is what the media does.
- 26:55Like, oh, well, you get called experts. Yeah,
- 26:58experts, officials, health officials. Right.
- 27:01So Dr. Rebecca Betts is not a physician. She
- 27:05not that it matters because plenty of physicians
- 27:06would have said the same stupid crap, but she's
- 27:08not a physician like they make her out to sound.
- 27:10She also wasn't. the reason I brought up the
- 27:13COVID thing because I went to look for that audio
- 27:15and I realized, oh, she only has been working
- 27:17at Panhandle Health since 2023. She was still
- 27:21in graduate school in 2020, 2021. So she's fairly
- 27:25new to the scene. But in any case, there's just,
- 27:27you know, as usual, they blow right past it.
- 27:30Here's a doctor from Panhandle Health. Panhandle
- 27:32Health has no credibility and she's not a doctor.
- 27:37touching fresh produce, thoroughly washing any
- 27:40kind of fresh produce. And then obviously the
- 27:44most effective way would be cooking produce to
- 27:47at least 158 degrees, which can kill. Oh here,
- 27:51you know what, I got a wrong word. It's oddly
- 27:52specific, 158 degrees. Well, should they give,
- 27:55yes, of course. That's how you know she's a health
- 27:57official expert doctor. I should have, I need
- 28:00to give the vocal fry warning because as she
- 28:02tails off at the end of her sentence, it gets
- 28:04really bad. vocal fry warning vocal fry warning
- 28:09to at least 158 degrees which can kill the cyclospora
- 28:13parasite Right now, the CDC is tracking more
- 28:17than 800 cases reported in the country across
- 28:19roughly... Now, what did they just do? They used
- 28:22the full number instead of the percentage. More
- 28:25than 800 cases across the country. Should we
- 28:27do some quick math here? Let's see. 800 divided
- 28:32by... What percentage? About 450 million. 350
- 28:35million is 800. It's approximately 0 .0002286%.
- 28:450 .0002%. More than 800 people across the country.
- 28:53Right now, the CDC is tracking more than 800
- 28:55cases reported in the country across roughly
- 28:5830 states. We also reached out to the Spokane
- 29:00Regional Health District. They say if you experience
- 29:02persistent diarrhea or other symptoms consistent
- 29:04with the parasite, they recommend contacting
- 29:07your health care provider for testing, testing,
- 29:09testing, and possible treatment. make sure you
- 29:13go get one of those phony baloney pcrs that they
- 29:16ramp up to 18 billion cycles so that we can detect
- 29:19a little bit of this cyclo recent spora disease
- 29:24and then you can of course talk to your provider
- 29:27about vaccines this isn't a musical number this
- 29:32is a fucking operation we gotta be cool and fucking
- 29:35lay low Here's what the entire mainstream apparatus
- 29:39sounded like. I put together a super cut. This
- 29:41is exclusive to your No ID show. The Michigan
- 29:44Department of Health and Human Services is following
- 29:47an outbreak of a foodborne illness across Southeastern
- 29:50and Mid -Michigan known as cyclosporiasis caused
- 29:53by a microscopic parasite. What you need to know...
- 29:57It's pretty scary sounding. New tonight, there's
- 29:59an outbreak of a parasitic infection to contaminated
- 30:03fresh produce. They haven't used the word pandemic
- 30:06yet though. So far they have not reported any
- 30:09infections here in Alabama, but health officials
- 30:12do want you to be aware. The cyclosporiasis.
- 30:14Not of that health alert, a severe stomach burn
- 30:16caused by parasite getting hundreds of people
- 30:18across the country sick. More than 30 states
- 30:21have reported cases, including Maryland and Virginia.
- 30:23The state of California is confirming reported
- 30:25cases of a foodborne. that has sickened more
- 30:29than 800 people across the U .S. Cyclospora infections
- 30:33were identified in 31 states. While most cases
- 30:36are concentrated in the Midwest, 41 provisional
- 30:39cases have been recorded in our state. You may
- 30:42or may not have heard of this, but there's a
- 30:44foodborne parasite called cyclosporiasis currently
- 30:48spreading across the country right now. There
- 30:50are almost three dozen cases in Maryland, not
- 30:53to mention all the other cases across the country.
- 30:56Michigan continues to climb, but health officials
- 30:59still haven't pinpointed the source. So what
- 31:02should you know about the parasite? Who's most
- 31:04at risk and how can you avoid getting sick? It
- 31:06could be cyclosporiasis. All new at 11, a parasite
- 31:09making its rounds across the country is now here
- 31:13in Florida. It's here! That stomach -churning
- 31:15cyclosporiasis continue to spread across the
- 31:18U .S. If we don't get a handle on this soon,
- 31:21we may... Okay, now here's some random, I don't
- 31:22know what he was, a doctor, a hospital administrator
- 31:24to threaten us. us with a distant future. If
- 31:29we don't get a handle on this soon. I'm not really
- 31:32sure what getting a handle on this soon even
- 31:34means, but here's what's going to happen if we
- 31:36don't. If we don't get a handle on this soon,
- 31:38we may have this conversation every year. for
- 31:43the next foreseeable future in June, July, and
- 31:46August, where we're talking about Explosive Diarrhea
- 31:49Month. And that's just not like something we
- 31:53want to do. Somebody give him Idaho State Rep
- 31:57Pandy's number. And they are going to have a
- 32:01great time watching other people go to the bathroom
- 32:04with explosive diarrhea. So they really know
- 32:08how the people are feeling about it all. Uh,
- 32:11where have we also heard that before? That threat
- 32:15slash fear mongering tactics. Scott, if we don't
- 32:18get a handle on this soon, every year people
- 32:22will die. Where haven't we heard it in the last,
- 32:28in the last six years? Yeah, that would be the
- 32:30question. We're haven't. Yes. Uh, I read that
- 32:32and it is remembered Kratom. Oh yeah. That's
- 32:36killing people too. Two people in the state for
- 32:39four people in the state of Idaho. It's here
- 32:41point one million creative Let's do that math
- 32:44four divided by two you're doing in every way
- 32:48shape or form all over the world going to the
- 32:50bathroom and they all zero point zero zero zero
- 32:55zero I think one person one point nine percent,
- 32:59but but point zero zero zero zero one nine percent
- 33:06We're basically dead already. I did I love that
- 33:09for one. It's too bad It wouldn't it's a little
- 33:11too disgusting for a show title, but uh explosive
- 33:14diarrhea month that is Awesome show title what
- 33:18we could call a e EDM EDM and everybody will
- 33:23think it means something else. Yeah, isn't that
- 33:24like a it's like house music or something Isn't
- 33:26it EDM? Mm -hmm? Yeah When you really drop, drop,
- 33:30drop the bass, bass, bass. And that's just not
- 33:33like something we want to do. And that's it.
- 33:35And now listen to the. You find this. Hold on,
- 33:42let me I'm going to cue you up one second. OK,
- 33:46do that again. Oh, man. And he is very important
- 33:59that you know that that's not something you actually
- 34:01want. And that's just not like something we want
- 34:05to do. Reporting for WUSA 9, I'm Kelly Vaughn.
- 34:09Reporting for any local news affiliate as an
- 34:11independent friendly neighborhood reporter, I'm
- 34:14Irving Farquhar. Now just in case you forgot,
- 34:17In the time that we've been doing this program
- 34:20alone, well under a year, you have heard this
- 34:24exact same structure and exact same blanketing
- 34:26of the entire mainstream apparatus with Hantavirus,
- 34:30the AH3 superflu, measles, the Cicada variant
- 34:35of COVID, Campylobacteriosis from raw milk. You'll
- 34:39be allergic to your Christmas decorations, so
- 34:43mask up while you decorate. Pratom is going to
- 34:46kill everybody. And so we need to ban it by just
- 34:49sweeping declarations of the royal, I mean, city
- 34:52councils. And remember that they are relentlessly
- 34:56testing the public's effluent across the country
- 34:59to detect and protect you from all of these disease
- 35:03dujours. Just in case you think I'm exaggerating
- 35:06or overstating, here from this program from episode
- 35:10eight. titled Council of Candles, is NPR covering
- 35:15that superflu AH3? The latest data from the Centers
- 35:19for Disease Control and Prevention indicate that
- 35:23hospitalization rates nationwide have jumped
- 35:25by 14 percent. Oh my god! As a so -called superflu
- 35:29variant has hit some states, including Idaho.
- 35:32The predominant flu subtype in Idaho is AH3.
- 35:38And yes, that is included in the most recent
- 35:40strain in the current flu vaccine. We better
- 35:49just put our heads down and... Not today, virus.
- 36:08You're not going to get me. No diarrhea for us.
- 36:15Yeah, we'll drink that raw milk. It won't kill
- 36:19us. We're going to survive. You sure about that?
- 36:33Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Thank you mainstream for
- 36:36providing us this bull crap just week after week
- 36:39after week. You're so predictable. You're so
- 36:41repetitive It's formulaic man. It's all just
- 36:45the same script delivered by the same phony baloney
- 36:48talking heads Eventually, it's all just going
- 36:51to be AI generated and your friendly neighborhood
- 36:53reporters won't even be real to the extent that
- 36:55they're even real now and Half the population
- 36:59will continue just go on continue on believing
- 37:01it eating it up lathering themselves up with
- 37:04electrolytes and getting their latest, I guess,
- 37:08vaccine that aren't vaccines. Hey, man, don't
- 37:10don't you be putting down those electrolytes.
- 37:12It's what plants crave. Let's do one more here
- 37:15before a second or before. What do we do? Actually,
- 37:19I think this it's any time the mainstream media
- 37:22says almost anything. I don't know what that
- 37:24means. No one knows what it means, but it's provocative.
- 37:27No, it's nice. It gets the people going. It's
- 37:30people going, you know, okay. Here's what gets
- 37:32people going The flock cameras that gets people
- 37:36they use the flock cameras around Idaho continues
- 37:39sparking conversation and debate Yes, I'm a Twin
- 37:42Falls neighborhood reporter Laurie and Nettleton
- 37:43and just days after and I'm still definitely
- 37:47not AI AI AI generated twin Falls neighborhood
- 37:49reporter Laurie and Nettleton and Just days after
- 37:52a dozen people spoke out against the cameras
- 37:54at a public meeting in Caldwell Twin Falls Police
- 37:57Department said, we don't care. We're doing it
- 37:59anyway. Meeting in Caldwell. Twin Falls Police
- 38:02Department took to social media to defend its
- 38:04use of the technology. Of course they will see
- 38:07because there's no red stickers. So how are we
- 38:09supposed to surveil you? If we can't watch what
- 38:12you're doing every minute of every day, how will
- 38:15we stop crime? Oh, man, we're gonna get to that
- 38:18in second half a show where they they wring their
- 38:21hands about this stuff. But then when the violent
- 38:23criminal gets arrested and locked up and arrested
- 38:26and locked up and released and arrested and locked
- 38:28up and released and then eventually just like
- 38:29murders some random 25 year old that happened
- 38:31down in southern Idaho last week. Oh, well, what
- 38:34happened? I thought you were surveilling everybody
- 38:36and keeping everybody safe sparking spirited
- 38:38because they didn't have enough pay phones down
- 38:40there to call it in. They couldn't call it in.
- 38:42Yeah, we're gonna get to that second half of
- 38:43show sparking spirited online debate. in that
- 38:46post there was plenty things that they pointed
- 38:48out that are perfect examples of why a flock
- 38:50camera would be amazing to have in response to
- 38:53increased online dialogue. This just so you know
- 38:55for context they were interviewing they they
- 38:58apparently found some guy who commented on this
- 39:00post that blew up and they interviewed him in
- 39:02it like just like you know Irving Farquhar is
- 39:04on the sidewalk with this guy and he looked like
- 39:07out of a I don't know like a music video from
- 39:121985 he had too long. He had very long straight
- 39:16hair. He sort of looked like a washed up rock
- 39:19star and he had dangly cross earrings and like
- 39:22a slayer shirt and a leather jacket. That's whose
- 39:25voice you just heard. In that post, there was
- 39:29plenty of things that they pointed out that are
- 39:30perfect examples of why a flock camera would
- 39:32be amazing to have. In response to increased
- 39:35online dialogue about flock cameras in Idaho
- 39:38communities, the Twin Falls Police Department
- 39:39on Thursday posted to its social media accounts
- 39:42to explain how automatic license plate readers
- 39:44are used in Twin Falls. Oh, no, you see you see
- 39:47citizen. We will explain it to you. Just hold
- 39:50down while we just just let us hold you down.
- 39:53Stay still while we surveil you and explain to
- 39:56you why this is a good thing. You're just too
- 40:00stupid to understand why us watching you all
- 40:03the time. Oh, and by the way, collecting all
- 40:05your data and then selling it to the highest
- 40:07bidder is a good thing. You know, 20 years ago,
- 40:13Scott, the government used to say things like,
- 40:14no, we don't do that. But this is also formulaic
- 40:18for those of us tinfoil hatwares who are like
- 40:20a hundred out of a hundred on our predictions
- 40:23and all the things we've talked about. It's the
- 40:24same. The formula is the same. Yes. You know,
- 40:27it takes 20 to 30 years. Yeah. And the government
- 40:30at any level, at some point, comes out with,
- 40:33pick a topic. And 20 or 30 years later, they're
- 40:35like, oh, yeah, no, actually, we were doing that.
- 40:38And we were doing that for years. But here's
- 40:40why it's good. And they go, but here's why it's
- 40:44good. First, it was, no, we didn't do that. Then
- 40:46it was, yeah, we actually were. We did. And we're
- 40:48still doing it. And here's why it's good. And
- 40:51then it's like, yeah, and we're going to keep
- 40:53doing it. And we're the good guys. The post states
- 40:56examples of fugitives apprehended and how vehicle
- 40:59make model and license information is stored
- 41:01The post also says that individuals or passengers
- 41:04audio and video are not tracked using the system
- 41:07He's explaining why the put the police department's
- 41:10post that was lecturing us on what these things
- 41:13do I know you stupid tinfoil hack conspiracy
- 41:15theories Here's a myth. Here's the misinformation
- 41:17malinformation. Here's not that's not what it
- 41:19does. Here's what it actually does Yes, you can
- 41:22stop criminals. Great. Kevin Wakely was one of
- 41:25hundreds of people who commented on the post.
- 41:27So that's the guy I was describing here. Now
- 41:28they're going to tell you. Kevin Wakely was one
- 41:30of hundreds of people who commented on the post.
- 41:32He agreed to speak with me. But the problem is,
- 41:35is we've had plenty of other examples that have
- 41:37shown where they've been used for nefarious reasons
- 41:40in our own valley. Even it's not just been in
- 41:44other states. We've had it happen close to home.
- 41:48Wakeley is referring to the former Jerome County
- 41:50Sheriff who used flock camera network to search
- 41:52for his wife's vehicle hundreds of times What
- 41:56you mean one of the glorious burrito supreme
- 41:59leaders was acting like a foible is human and
- 42:02used the flock security camera technology to
- 42:04just basically use a Telephoto lens to follow
- 42:07his ex -wife around town what that doesn't sound
- 42:10like a leader Even worse, one of the leaders
- 42:13of the mercenaries of the leaders. So the guys
- 42:16with the guns and the badges who can do what
- 42:18they want when they want on behalf of our glorious
- 42:20Supreme Chalupa leader, leader, leaders. Doesn't
- 42:23make any sense. Furthermore, and I go back to
- 42:25an earlier statement. It's one of the angels
- 42:29that are doing the governance. I don't understand.
- 42:30Oh, yeah. That's right. What was I thinking?
- 42:33Of course, the government would never, ever,
- 42:35ever abuse its power. What should be really telling
- 42:38here though is when they make, when they're making
- 42:40that post on Facebook and they're trying to explain,
- 42:43no, no, don't worry. It doesn't, it only does
- 42:46this, but it doesn't do these things. Like get
- 42:48your audio from the car. It's like, okay. Oh,
- 42:52thank God. That makes me feel so much better
- 42:55that, you know, while you can track my every
- 42:57move, you can't hear what I'm saying while I'm
- 43:01in the car. Well, that makes it all better then.
- 43:03Okay, cool. Carry on. Let's do it. We're good.
- 43:05That's the point we're at, Scott. That should
- 43:08be terrifying to anybody if you really, really
- 43:10think about it. We're now, we're so far down
- 43:12this rabbit hole that they're not even saying,
- 43:17the argument isn't whether or not they can or
- 43:19should surveil us. The argument is just how much
- 43:23harder they can surveil us. It's like, well,
- 43:25we don't collect audio, but we do know where
- 43:28you are all the time. Oh, okay, whew. Thanks.
- 43:32In that case. And here I thought I was living
- 43:34in a tyrannical circumstances. Boy, I'm glad
- 43:37I was corrected. And you know, by the way, in
- 43:3910 years, it's going to come out, oh yeah, no,
- 43:41we were doing that. But here's why it's a good
- 43:43thing. Here's why it's a good thing. Yeah. Or
- 43:46in 10 years, it will come out. And then in 10
- 43:48years, five. It'll be five. And they'll be like,
- 43:50well, we actually have been collecting that.
- 43:52And we're going to keep collecting that. But
- 43:54don't worry. We only know what you say. We only
- 43:57know where you are. But we don't know. You know,
- 44:02what's in your pockets? So you still got that
- 44:04going for you. But don't worry, we know everything
- 44:07else. Just not those things. So you're still
- 44:10free. We're only surveilling you 95 % of the
- 44:14way. It bears mentioning that we definitely carry
- 44:23the surveillance apparatuses in our pocket anyway.
- 44:26You know how when you talk about the thing true,
- 44:29it feels like you think about a thing and then
- 44:32onto your screen pops a targeted ad. Yes, we're
- 44:35being listened to anyway. So it's like, well,
- 44:36you idiot flock cameras, man. That's the least
- 44:39of your problems, dude. You're carrying around
- 44:41your surveillance in your pocket. I know, but.
- 44:44There is a key distinction, even if it sort of
- 44:47doesn't matter in practice, which is that we
- 44:49opt in to the phones. We don't opt in to flock
- 44:52cameras that are posted on every lamppost by
- 44:54the state. There's a difference even if everyone
- 44:57does have a surveillance apparatus in their pocket.
- 44:59Well, we can always turn them off as well. We
- 45:02can downgrade, we can make modifications and
- 45:05we can just straight up turn them off or we can
- 45:07leave them in place. There's still some wiggle
- 45:10room. 100 % though, yeah, we do literally carry
- 45:13around our own surveillance devices with us everywhere
- 45:16we go. And if you drive a car that has been made
- 45:20basically in the last 10 years or newer, they
- 45:25also track all that shit too. The government
- 45:27has strong armed all of the... Motor companies
- 45:31into creating cars where they can just just track
- 45:33you. They have all the they have all the tech
- 45:36It's there. They surveil you that way too that
- 45:38being said It still is that that's not a good
- 45:42there is no good reason and that's certainly
- 45:44not a good justification for adding yet another
- 45:46layer of surveillance I mean, it's You know when
- 45:50you're when you're in the rain You don't go.
- 45:53Well, I Mean, it's only a downpour. How about
- 45:57a hurricane because I'm already wet It's already
- 46:00raining complaining about you're in the rain
- 46:02and you're like, well, this really sucks. And
- 46:04I'd like to try to get dry. Let's not add more
- 46:07rain. Oh, I see. So you love potholes. Is that
- 46:11it? You got me. You know me so well. Wakeley
- 46:16is referring to the former Jerome County Sheriff
- 46:18who used Flock Camera Network to search for his
- 46:21wife's vehicle hundreds of times at the July
- 46:246 Caldwell City Council meeting. A dozen community
- 46:27members spoke out against the cameras. We shouldn't
- 46:30have to give so many reasons why these cameras
- 46:35are a bad idea. The ability to not be constantly
- 46:38surveilled by the government is clearly a right
- 46:41given by the Fourth Amendment and backed up by
- 46:43several Supreme Court cases. The online discussion
- 46:45in response to the Twin Falls Police Department's
- 46:48post was robust, logging over 100 comments within
- 46:50an hour and over 500 comments by the end of the
- 46:53day. Captain Brent Wright of the Twin Falls Police
- 46:55Department told me in a phone call the department
- 46:57had seen an uptick in misinformation misinformation
- 47:00about how the data is used in misinformation
- 47:03There it is missing for you see you see citizen
- 47:08you're dumb That's right. It's not it's not just
- 47:11that the the police department of fill in the
- 47:14blank makes these posts. Here's the misinformation
- 47:17and malinformation citizen. And here's what's
- 47:19actually true, even though you're liars. And
- 47:21I don't believe you. It's the part where they
- 47:23do it in such an exasperated way as if there's
- 47:25no reason for the public to mistrust any facet
- 47:29of officialdom. You stupid plebes just don't
- 47:32get it. We want what's best for you. Now listen
- 47:35closely. And it actually doesn't even matter
- 47:36if you do or don't. We're doing it anyway. That's
- 47:38always the tone of what they say. Yeah, it's
- 47:41so it's so condescending. Man, I'll tell you
- 47:44what. It's maddening. It is maddening. And you
- 47:46cannot hate government enough in general. You
- 47:49cannot hate police enough in general. You cannot
- 47:51hate the glorious Chalupa Supreme Leader, leader,
- 47:54leaders enough. the gall of these people to stand
- 47:58there and tell the rest of us when we're like,
- 48:01hey, we don't want to be surveilled. And they
- 48:03go, oh, well, you're just dumb. You're just operating
- 48:07off of misinformation. And I'm thinking to myself,
- 48:09even if I fucking was, these shouldn't exist.
- 48:13They shouldn't exist. We don't want them. I don't
- 48:15want to be surveilled in any way, shape or form.
- 48:17And nobody should want that. And wanted to provide
- 48:21more transparency on what the cameras do and
- 48:23don't do. quote, I don't care what they do. They're
- 48:28there. That's the problem. Say it's like, it's
- 48:31like the same thing. It's going, well, you know,
- 48:32the property tax, like, cause we're dealing with
- 48:34all these ass hats right now. We're talking about
- 48:36the pro who are defend defending property tax,
- 48:39which is Stockholm syndrome to the max, by the
- 48:41way, a tax where they can take your home if you
- 48:45don't pay and people are defending it. Will you
- 48:48drive on the roads? Don't you? It's the same
- 48:52thing as somebody defending the property tax
- 48:55by going well This part of it goes to this and
- 48:58we need that and this part of property tax goes
- 49:00to this and we need that I'm like first off.
- 49:02No second off. No, I don't want that I don't
- 49:04want that and I don't want that but thirdly even
- 49:06if every penny of my property tax went to something
- 49:10I did agree with it's still wrong and it shouldn't
- 49:14exist if I really want to spend my money on the
- 49:17on XYZ That should be my choice not you taking
- 49:23my home from me if I attempt to opt out. This
- 49:26is the same, again, formula that they're using
- 49:31with the flock stuff. Instead of going, no, you're
- 49:34right, just as an entire concept, this is wrong,
- 49:36unethical, and immoral, they're going, no, wait,
- 49:38but look, there's good things about this, and
- 49:40here's why we should do it, because, you know,
- 49:42we're only surveilling you X amount of hard.
- 49:47I can't believe you think you should have a choice.
- 49:49What if you choose wrong, citizen? Yeah, well,
- 49:53the problem is the misinformation I'm getting.
- 49:54That's why I believe the wrong thing and I'm
- 49:56choosing the wrong thing is because I'm just
- 49:58dumb and I don't know any better. I have the
- 49:59wrong information. It turns out I never had any
- 50:02natural rights to begin with. Oh, stupid me saying
- 50:06hello. Peasants great value to some of the success
- 50:09stories. If that was your family member, I think
- 50:11you would see the huge value in the system."
- 50:14Unquote. The Twin Falls Police Department also
- 50:16has a page on their website with information
- 50:18about the cameras, their policy and state law
- 50:20and other details about how the data is handled.
- 50:23I'm your Twin Falls neighborhood reporter, Lorian
- 50:25Nettleton, Idaho News 6. It's almost like an
- 50:29entire generation never read or saw the Minority
- 50:32Report. Like we don't even need to talk about
- 50:35Orwell. We don't need to talk about Huxley and
- 50:38their books, you know, Brave New World or 1984.
- 50:40I mean, those are out there. Our Fahrenheit 451,
- 50:43all fantastic pieces of literature that we're
- 50:46really close to or we're already living in. And
- 50:49they were supposed to be warnings, not user manuals,
- 50:51but we're there. But I think the one that's even
- 50:54more prescient now just because of the setting
- 50:57and the background, the backdrop of the story
- 51:01is Minority Report. And I guess for any listeners
- 51:05who maybe aren't familiar with Minority Report,
- 51:07look it up. It's a book, also turned into a movie,
- 51:11as often happens. Tom Cruise stars in it. And
- 51:14it actually, it's a pretty, on its own, it's
- 51:16a damn good movie. But the concept behind the
- 51:19movie is even more important about pre -crime
- 51:22and the surveillance state and the lack of rights
- 51:26being trampled every which way. for the sake
- 51:30of stopping crime before it can even happen.
- 51:33Right. But it explores, of course, what gets
- 51:36lost in the process as some very important things
- 51:39and how it can go awry. And Murphy's law isn't
- 51:43that things will go wrong. Murphy's law is that
- 51:45what can happen will happen. And what can happen
- 51:48is abuse, corruption, things going wrong, things
- 51:52happening to people that it shouldn't happen
- 51:54to. That's not worth it. The juice is never worth
- 52:00the squeeze in these situations, never. For every
- 52:04family who is quote unquote helped by these flock
- 52:08systems as they track down a perp, there's as
- 52:11many or more people who get put through the system
- 52:14who shouldn't be in the system. And then there's
- 52:15the rest of us who just lose all of our right
- 52:18to exist anonymously in the first place, or at
- 52:21least the right to move freely without surveillance,
- 52:24which is a right. We have that right and we just
- 52:26lose it. I'm curious to know how the commie Silicon
- 52:32Valley programmers and their products would summarize
- 52:35that movie, so let's mess around with the computer.
- 52:38As concisely as possible, summarize the plot
- 52:40of Minority Report. he becomes a fugitive fleeing
- 52:58to prove his innocence while uncovering a conspiracy
- 53:01that questions whether the future is fixed or
- 53:04if choice can change it. Wow. Fair? Has no mention
- 53:10at all. Well, it is an assessment and it's not
- 53:15an inaccurate summary of it, but it leaves out
- 53:19everything that's important. the philosophical
- 53:27con debate there, the ethical and moral issues
- 53:31there. The fact that the only reason the main
- 53:35character can navigate and actually come out
- 53:38in the end, he, he, he's able to, you know, get
- 53:41through it, not without some sacrifice for sure.
- 53:43And it's a terrible experience that happens to
- 53:45him, but he actually is able to work his way
- 53:48through it. but only because he's in the know
- 53:51and he's on the inside, which is also classic,
- 53:54uh, the way government works, you know, everybody
- 53:57else, you get fucked. You might have a chance
- 54:01if you know somebody who knows somebody or if
- 54:03you work in the system and then you know how
- 54:05to work it. Well, that concept doesn't get talked
- 54:09about either. I did say as concisely as possible.
- 54:12So perhaps if I told it to wax philosophic, it
- 54:14would have gone into that, but probably maybe,
- 54:17maybe, but, but I, but I think Well, there's
- 54:20this difference between AI and humans if you
- 54:22were to ask most any thinking human I suppose
- 54:25about Minority Report There's no way they could
- 54:27tell you about it without mentioning any and
- 54:29all of those things because that was the I'm
- 54:31gonna use this word again the crux of the whole
- 54:34story Well, you know the crux of our story here
- 54:40on no ID It I can summarize it even more concisely
- 54:44value for value That's the model that this program
- 54:50runs on as mentioned at the top of the show and
- 54:54It's very simple proposition We keep this program
- 54:58ad -free. There are no sponsors, which means
- 55:01no sponsor meetings I spent a lot of professional
- 55:04years doing that on my in my previous broadcast
- 55:07ventures and it's how essentially all broadcast
- 55:10platforms with very few exceptions operate which
- 55:14is to develop a audience get people's ears and
- 55:18then pitch products and services to them in to
- 55:21varying degrees of obviousness from just like
- 55:24You know straight up running commercial spots
- 55:26all the way to like attempting to weave in the
- 55:29product pitch into the show itself and everything
- 55:32in between We don't do that. That's not the value
- 55:35for value model. It is the inversion of what
- 55:37I just described It is very simply We give value
- 55:42or try to with this program every Thursday. We
- 55:45just put it out there. It's gratis There's no
- 55:48subscriber only content or pay walls or anything
- 55:50of the sort It's just the program and it's as
- 55:52good as we can make it every week And if you
- 55:55find any of that to be true if you find it to
- 55:57be a valuable addition to your week We ask that
- 55:59you contribute value back to the show time talent
- 56:02or treasure. There are many ways to do that Maybe,
- 56:05you know, I don't know. You think, Paul, you'd
- 56:07be better at pitching the time and talent part?
- 56:10I feel like I do it every week and maybe it'd
- 56:12be different coming from you in different words.
- 56:16I mean, if you want to, well, not today because
- 56:18you already were on a roll, so I'm not going
- 56:19to do it today. But if you want to like trade
- 56:21off, sure. I could do it. I don't know. You've
- 56:23always done it, and I thought you'd done it well,
- 56:24and it's one of the few times on the show that
- 56:27I don't talk for five minutes straight, so I've
- 56:29kind of just let you have it. All right, fair
- 56:30enough. I mean, I just want to make sure that
- 56:32it's not getting, you know, staler and boring
- 56:34because, I mean, repetition is part of the deal.
- 56:37Repetition is the mother of pedagogy, in the
- 56:40words of Dennis. I mean, I might throw everybody
- 56:41off if I start doing it. Yeah, maybe so. This
- 56:43guy again. All right well so then we'll go through
- 56:47it and it's the reason that I we do a version
- 56:50of this every week is a because not everybody
- 56:52hears everything and B because you never know
- 56:54when it's gonna click with somebody you know
- 56:56sometimes you hear something you 20 times 200
- 56:58times and then on the 201st suddenly you're like
- 57:01yeah you know I really should do something like
- 57:03that or it you know sparks a creative idea or
- 57:07whatever so time and talent yeah can mean many
- 57:10different things. Well, and C is one of the few
- 57:12times that Scott actually gets a word in. So
- 57:14I want to let him have it. Thank you. Thank you.
- 57:16I can always, of course, just mute you, but I
- 57:18would never do such a thing. Time, even though
- 57:20I just did it on the last show and it felt really
- 57:22good. Time and talent is what we for one, you're
- 57:27a producer of this program. We do not have listeners
- 57:30on this show. And this all, by the way, was pioneered
- 57:33as we do have listeners. We do. We don't have
- 57:36advertisers on this show. Yes. Although I, you
- 57:41know, sorry, you, you meant advertisers. You
- 57:42said listeners, you said we don't have listeners
- 57:44on this show. I mean it. We don't, we have producers,
- 57:47everyone out there that's hearing this program.
- 57:48This is why you should be doing this. I'm going
- 57:50to shut up now. Paul still doesn't understand
- 57:52the value for value model. We're on episode number
- 57:5437. And which is as many I think years as Paul's
- 57:57been alive and but the value for value model
- 57:59has not quite sunk in yet That's okay. This show
- 58:01does not true. That's not true. I just wanted
- 58:03to correct you because I thought you were wrong
- 58:05I understand the model just fine turns out wrong.
- 58:08I just didn't I just didn't let you finish speaking
- 58:10This is a this is why you got to do this part
- 58:13meeting myself now The as pioneered by John and
- 58:16Adam on no agenda, which I like to say from time
- 58:18to time. It's been a while They've pioneered
- 58:20this model and the notion of the of you guys
- 58:24not being listeners of this program, but rather
- 58:26producers. You help us produce the show. Like
- 58:29I mentioned at the top, CJ producing some show
- 58:31art, even though he didn't really mean to. That's
- 58:33okay, that's production and you are producers.
- 58:35So please, all this, by the way, is at noidshow
- 58:37.com. There's contact button that you can sign
- 58:40up for the weekly newsletter that I do for covering
- 58:43the topics of that week's show. all at noidshow
- 58:46.com. You can also contribute treasure from the
- 58:48Time, Talent or Treasure model. And anything
- 58:51you want to submit like articles, like show art,
- 58:54like audio clips, like boots on the ground reports,
- 58:58like your area of expertise, any form of feedback
- 59:01as such with regard to what you're hearing on
- 59:03this program is time and talent returned. So
- 59:07please be an active participant and be the producers
- 59:09what you is by going to noidshow .com. and returning
- 59:13value with your time or talent if you find this
- 59:15program valuable. If you'd like to become an
- 59:18executive producer of this program, the Treasure
- 59:21contributors from the Time, Talent, Treasure
- 59:23model become executive producers of that week's
- 59:26show. And here, episode number 37, we have three
- 59:29executive producers this week. And of course,
- 59:32we will read your note with whatever you'd like
- 59:34to send in. I'd like to start this week with
- 59:38here. I have it off here. I'm going to jingle
- 59:42it in front of the microphone. This is a plastic
- 59:44sandwich. We have like a Ziploc bag with $33
- 59:48.33 in cash. So that includes the bills and the
- 59:52coins. It sounds like in shiny Schmeckles. It's
- 59:54to make, yeah, to make $33 .33. And this was
- 59:57handed to me by Jason, the weightlifting Polak.
- 1:00:03Jason. Now, is he also an artist? A Polak? He,
- 1:00:08you know. Not he creates art in the gym. He's
- 1:00:13a bodybuilder. So, you know what? Yes, his body
- 1:00:14is a work art. How do you like that? I love it.
- 1:00:18When he handed me this Ziploc bag with thirty
- 1:00:21three, thirty three in cash, he said, he said,
- 1:00:24I need a deduction. A deduction is that's a no
- 1:00:28agenda ism for like. Those who just listen without
- 1:00:32contributing value back are douchebags. And then
- 1:00:35when somebody does finally contribute value,
- 1:00:38they need to get deduced. So on this show, I
- 1:00:41was like, well, what can I use for a deducing
- 1:00:45sound effect? And this is what I came up with.
- 1:00:47And you can tell me if something immediately
- 1:00:49Paul comes to your mind that would be better
- 1:00:51or if you dig this. Well, well, well. How the
- 1:00:56turntables. Any good? Hmm. What about this? Well,
- 1:01:08I see you wasted no time in filling my seed hole.
- 1:01:12Maybe we can combine those two. I like the notion
- 1:01:15of like, you used to suck and now you don't anymore,
- 1:01:19like the tables have turned, but then filling
- 1:01:22the seed holes, that's good too. Because he's
- 1:01:24he's filled our seed hole with 3333. I don't
- 1:01:27know. It needs work. So I don't I haven't perfected
- 1:01:30the deducing or this shows version of it yet,
- 1:01:32Jason. But consider yourself deduced. And we
- 1:01:36thank you so very deeply for your treasure contribution.
- 1:01:40You're the man, brother. And new quest unlocked
- 1:01:45is we will find a deducing sound drop or bite
- 1:01:51sound bite. Is it sound drop or sound bite? I
- 1:01:54always liked drop because soundbite to me indicates
- 1:02:00like, oh, here's like a 20 second clip and it's
- 1:02:04just a soundbite. You know, you're you're not
- 1:02:06really going on the debate stage to make a point.
- 1:02:07You just want a good soundbite. A sound drop
- 1:02:10is something really, really short like this.
- 1:02:14Like that's a sound drop. That's not a sound
- 1:02:16bite, you know. All right. Sound drop it is then
- 1:02:19we'll just keep it. Here I got I have another
- 1:02:21candidate. Shut up and take my money. Yeah, that's
- 1:02:26good, too. We can work that one in for sure.
- 1:02:28We'll work on it. We'll work on it. No, we're
- 1:02:31gonna have one. We're not gonna work it in. We're
- 1:02:33gonna find one. You think it should just be one?
- 1:02:36Yes! So that it's recognizable, it's iconic,
- 1:02:41it's singular in nature. I mean, I already have
- 1:02:44mine that I picked out for when, you know, the
- 1:02:47Schmeckels one that we will now be doing again
- 1:02:49because we got... value for value contributions.
- 1:02:52So anytime we get value for value contributions,
- 1:02:54I have my favorites on this 25 speckles. So that's
- 1:02:58coming down the pipe here. But if you want a
- 1:03:00sound drop for D douchey, it needs to be just
- 1:03:04like that, like one, it's singular in purpose,
- 1:03:07it's recognizable, and it's consistent. Okay,
- 1:03:09I agree with you conceptually. But then, but
- 1:03:11then I wouldn't vote for the shut up and take
- 1:03:12my money because it needs to somehow indicate
- 1:03:14that You used to suck, but you don't anymore.
- 1:03:17Like the most, you're the most improved. See,
- 1:03:20we can't just give you a trophy. We have to give
- 1:03:22you the most improved trophy, which indicated
- 1:03:24that you used to suck. Yeah. Well, we'll go on
- 1:03:28the hunt. I'm not, I wasn't married to it. I
- 1:03:31just was offering it up as a possible candidate.
- 1:03:34But I mean, dude, if I got offended that easily
- 1:03:36working with you, we'd be in big trouble. All
- 1:03:39right. Moving along here, belaboring. Mary was
- 1:03:45listening to the last podcast, by the way, and
- 1:03:47Mary was like, olive skin, olive skin. She's
- 1:03:50like, I have met Scott and I mean, he's not super
- 1:03:55white, but he is not olive skin. So there you
- 1:03:58have it. My wife who does have olive skin has
- 1:04:02has made the ruling. She's made the ruling. You're
- 1:04:05telling me that Mary has olive skin and I don't.
- 1:04:09Oh my gosh. Okay. The next time we're all together,
- 1:04:11we're going to do a comparison. Hold the arms
- 1:04:14up side by side. Yeah. But here's the thing though.
- 1:04:16No arms are easy. You know, arms are cheating
- 1:04:18because everybody has their arms in the sun.
- 1:04:20We're going to go legs, legs, legs. Okay. That's
- 1:04:23fine. But here's the thing, dude. If I feel like
- 1:04:25she's somewhere in the middle too, like there's
- 1:04:28no way that, cause she's not pasty and she's
- 1:04:30not olive skin. She's in the middle, which is
- 1:04:32what you're saying. I am. We're firmly in the
- 1:04:35same category. You guys are like the chocolate
- 1:04:39labs of the dog world. You're not black labs.
- 1:04:41You're not golden labs Yeah, those are also the
- 1:04:45Jesus excellent at duck hunting All right, let's
- 1:04:49move along here to do you have webbed feet to
- 1:04:53Kevin Killian Executive producer Kevin Killian
- 1:04:57is back with I believe his biggest donation to
- 1:05:00date two two two dot two two A monster row of
- 1:05:06ducks from Kevin Killian. A super duper duck
- 1:05:09row. And he, in contradistinction to the agenda
- 1:05:14archaeologist who wrote a long and very funny
- 1:05:17email, Kevin's note says, quote, because I like
- 1:05:20the show, close quote. Well, that's all right.
- 1:05:26We still get we get a lot of off -the -air interaction
- 1:05:28with yeah, we do in fact I greatly greatly enjoyed
- 1:05:31his latest commentary on calling you out for
- 1:05:33being too young to even have him watched The
- 1:05:36baseball pitcher that you were comparing something
- 1:05:38to the other day, you know members next just
- 1:05:40out of the blue So clearly it was like he just
- 1:05:43caught up on that episode and he texted he goes
- 1:05:46You know that pitcher I named was I escaped because
- 1:05:48the last time that pitcher pitched was like 1965
- 1:05:51squat. They weren't even alive How could you
- 1:05:54have watched him? And then of course Scott and
- 1:05:55I both are like, we have TV, the internet exists,
- 1:05:58Kevin, you fucking boomer. Of course we can watch
- 1:06:00this stuff. Right. So unless I heard Vin Scully,
- 1:06:04uh, call the game in real time, uh, in the, in
- 1:06:06the JFK era, I couldn't have possibly ever watched
- 1:06:09Sandy Kofax throw a ball. Oh, but wouldn't it
- 1:06:12have been awesome to listen to, to like watch
- 1:06:15it while listening to the commentator talk like
- 1:06:18our favorite MSM. news talking head, whose name
- 1:06:21I always forget, but he talks like this. John
- 1:06:23Webb. And then he throws the ball. Oh, it's a
- 1:06:26curve. And the wide. And that's three outs for
- 1:06:32Kovach. Right. That'd be awesome. Listening to
- 1:06:36John Webb commentate old school 1960s baseball.
- 1:06:40Pretty fantastic. I'd actually pay. I would pay.
- 1:06:44the like comparison with Vin Scully who called
- 1:06:47Dodgers games on the radio for and Kofax pitch
- 1:06:50for the Dodgers because apparently, you know
- 1:06:52nothing about sports ball Well, I don't know
- 1:06:55about baseball. Anyways, I was always more of
- 1:06:58a basketball American instead of a baseball American
- 1:07:00Yeah, I know dreads. I've done that math Vin
- 1:07:04Scully, I mean he's sort of one of a rap sheet
- 1:07:07a broadcast hero someone I didn't really listen
- 1:07:10too much because I really wasn't into baseball
- 1:07:12obviously in the For one, he called the games
- 1:07:14for 130 years. And for two, I can't remember
- 1:07:17what year he retired. Let's ask. Hold on. What
- 1:07:23year did Vin Scully retire? We are rabbit trailing
- 1:07:27super hard now. Vin Scully retired after the
- 1:07:302016 season. 2016. OK, so we have very recently
- 1:07:33and he was calling games, I believe, from the
- 1:07:3540s or 50s forever. You want to talk about you
- 1:07:38want to talk about a broadcast legend. Then Scully
- 1:07:41would call an entire game and not miss a syllable.
- 1:07:46And of course, you're just no needless to say,
- 1:07:48prompt or anything of the sort. You're just you're
- 1:07:50you're freewheeling. You're off the cuffing everything.
- 1:07:52And that guy never missed a syllable. Just so
- 1:07:57unbelievably impressive. And yes, I never did.
- 1:07:59I did never did listen to him call Sandy Kofax
- 1:08:02games. But, you know, my dad did. And as I told
- 1:08:05executive producer Kevin Killian, I have hereditary
- 1:08:08cred. Take that, Kevin. That's right. Also, thank
- 1:08:12you. Thank you very much, Kevin, for the continued
- 1:08:15support. We appreciate it a lot. And the shenanigans
- 1:08:19off the air. I like I appreciate that a lot.
- 1:08:23Which by the way, if any of you guys have our
- 1:08:26contact information, you're welcome to use it
- 1:08:29and engage in off air shenanigans with us as
- 1:08:32well. Yes, go right ahead. I'm just going to
- 1:08:35read the one line from, because I pulled up the
- 1:08:37message. Great job trying to act relevant though,
- 1:08:40Scotty! That was the highlight of my day. Good
- 1:08:47times. So finally for this week, the Crypt Slapper
- 1:08:51of CDA is back. It's been a while. He is back
- 1:08:54with a... Oh, I put my soundboard down. He's
- 1:08:57back with a shiny schmeckle. Nine, nine, nine.
- 1:09:00Nine, nine, nine. And he said, here is a shiny
- 1:09:05schmeckle on behalf of llama liquors everywhere.
- 1:09:09And that took me a second and then I went back
- 1:09:11I realized oh on the last episode There was a
- 1:09:13there was a guy's name in one of the clips. I
- 1:09:16don't remember what named Michael like lick llama
- 1:09:19and So that must have stuck with the crypt slapper
- 1:09:21of CDA because he coughed up a shiny schmeckle
- 1:09:24on behalf of llama Lickers everywhere Thank you
- 1:09:27very much. Crips lapper CDA. We appreciate it
- 1:09:36Oh, I was like, where the hell's that going?
- 1:09:37Llama face? What's that from? What? Emperor's
- 1:09:42New Groove, dude. No, no, no, no, no. The kids
- 1:09:44movie? Kind of abusive childhood did you have?
- 1:09:46You never saw Emperor's New Groove? No. Where
- 1:09:49yours is from? Oh, Scott. Where yours is from?
- 1:09:51I don't know. It's got to be 15, 20 years old.
- 1:09:54I was too busy watching Sandy Koufax. It's got
- 1:09:56David Spade and John Goodman. And it's hilarious.
- 1:10:01It's actually a pretty solid film. Oh, it's from
- 1:10:052000. So it's because I was, I was 17 in 2000.
- 1:10:09I was not watching kids movies in the year 2000.
- 1:10:14Okay. Okay. We're going to just, you got to watch
- 1:10:19this. You got to watch it. You got to watch.
- 1:10:21You and Danica and your kiddo Sam got to, Sam
- 1:10:25won't fully get it, but she'll enjoy it anyways.
- 1:10:28And dude, you're going to love it. It's hilarious.
- 1:10:30Even now it has aged well. I promise you it's
- 1:10:34aged well. I think I was probably watching very
- 1:10:36little. I don't really nothing in the realm of
- 1:10:40kids like I was listening to Phil Hendry and
- 1:10:42Love Line and hanging out with my girlfriend
- 1:10:44and maybe watching like whose line is it anyway
- 1:10:46when I would like go off campus for lunch. Well
- 1:10:50I don't know what to tell you other than highly
- 1:10:52recommend and all of our producers out there
- 1:10:55listeners and executive producers out there you
- 1:10:57just blow up Scott's phone and back me up on
- 1:10:59this because anybody who has any taste will understand
- 1:11:01this. It's all right. That's concluded the value
- 1:11:05for value segment. Thank you guys very much for
- 1:11:08embracing the value for value model. Please return
- 1:11:10value to the show if you find it valuable and
- 1:11:13we are ready for hopefully epic. We may tune
- 1:11:16our own horn second half of show coming right
- 1:11:18up. You have a song. Thank you. Just just to
- 1:11:21recap. Thank you, Jason, the bodybuilder. Appreciate
- 1:11:23your contribution and I hope you keep that bodybuilding
- 1:11:26beautiful. Kevin Killian, always a pleasure,
- 1:11:28man. Thank you so much for the continued support
- 1:11:30and the shenanigans off air. I love it. And Cryptslapper,
- 1:11:34thank you so much man for the contribution. We
- 1:11:36really appreciate it guys. I'll take you down
- 1:11:39there for 25 shmeckles. 25 shmeckles? I don't
- 1:11:43know how much, I don't know what that is. Is
- 1:11:44that a lot? Is it a little? Do you love America?
- 1:11:49I've got one. Alright, so speaking of Tootin'
- 1:11:52our own horns, I got a song based on how this
- 1:11:56weekend went. F yeah. Yeah Okay, no ID second
- 1:16:16half Oh show as alluded to in the first half
- 1:16:22there was a murder down in Boise and I believe
- 1:16:28it happened the last record date of this program.
- 1:16:31So it was a week ago on Monday and It's there's
- 1:16:37a lot to it. So see how am I gonna present this?
- 1:16:40Let's so we'll start with the Like, I don't know,
- 1:16:43sort of breaking news or how the mainstream was
- 1:16:45reporting this as it unfolded before they knew
- 1:16:48who the victim was or they knew who the murderer
- 1:16:50was or et cetera. Now, did you hear about this
- 1:17:04or have you read about it? No, nope. I have zero
- 1:17:08context, knowledge. or anything. Okay. So here
- 1:17:13is the next one as they are starting to or you
- 1:17:17say they've sort of figured it out they know
- 1:17:19who the kid was they kid 25 year old they knew
- 1:17:21who the murderer was etc. Developing story this
- 1:17:24morning. This broke just last night. You may
- 1:17:27have seen it at 10 and arrest has already been
- 1:17:30made in the Boise Greenbelt murder. Ross Wardlaw
- 1:17:33seen here has been arrested in connection to
- 1:17:35the murder of 25 year old Jordan Harpst. It happened
- 1:17:38earlier this week. Wardlaw has a pretty lengthy
- 1:17:41criminal background. We've been looking into
- 1:17:43that, including violent criminal charges like
- 1:17:46aggravated battery, disturbing the peace, drug
- 1:17:48possession and his past. So I think what I gathered,
- 1:17:52what happened here, was that this guy, what's
- 1:17:55his name? Sorry, I missed it. As 25 -year -old
- 1:17:57Jordan Harpst. Jordan Harpst. It appears that
- 1:18:01Jordan Harpst was riding a scooter, like an electric
- 1:18:03scooter, along the Green Belt, and that this
- 1:18:06dude, this 40 -something, I don't know, druggy
- 1:18:09guy, homeless guy, jumped out, like sort of out
- 1:18:11of nowhere, and just knocked him off the scooter,
- 1:18:14and then stabbed him to death. With him or her?
- 1:18:18Hit Jordan Jordan the dude the guy. Okay. So
- 1:18:21the victim is that the victim is a They both
- 1:18:24they both they both are Okay. Yeah, I believe
- 1:18:28Ross Wardlaw is the stabber and yes, and then
- 1:18:32a Jordan is these is the fellow who was murdered
- 1:18:36and So this Ross Wardlaw dude just pops out of
- 1:18:38the bushes and stabs this poor guy He just knocked
- 1:18:41him off his scooter and then from what I was
- 1:18:42reading I couldn't I don't think I found any
- 1:18:44clean audio on this but that he He's a well -known
- 1:18:48homeless drug addict in the area and has been
- 1:18:51in and out of prison a billion times and that
- 1:18:54I believe his own admission probably while high
- 1:18:57on fill -in -the -blank was that he has had a
- 1:18:59like he's been paranoid recently about people
- 1:19:02on scooters and that the scooter people are coming
- 1:19:04to get him so some you know whatever fentanyl
- 1:19:07speed whatever induced paranoid delusional psychosis
- 1:19:11and he thought the scooter people were after
- 1:19:13him and that this poor dude, Jordan, just happened
- 1:19:15to be the unlucky guy rolling by when this guy
- 1:19:18was peeking on whatever he shot up and that he
- 1:19:21just knocked him off the scooter and stabbed
- 1:19:22him to death. Why can't people who do stuff like
- 1:19:25this, instead of being afraid of the scooter
- 1:19:27people, why can't they do stuff like this to
- 1:19:30the actual lizard people who rule over us? What
- 1:19:35the hell there's, we need to, we need to create
- 1:19:37a program where we bring all of these crazies
- 1:19:39in and be like, it's the city council members
- 1:19:43who are doing this to you. Be afraid of them.
- 1:19:45This is exactly what we were talking about. It's
- 1:19:48the federal reserve chairman who's, who's the
- 1:19:50lizard people. The people on scooters? No, no,
- 1:19:53they're okay. They're our friends. You know who's
- 1:19:56not our friends? The county commissioners. This
- 1:19:59is exactly what... No ID is in no way advocating
- 1:20:03violence against county commissioners or anybody
- 1:20:05else, just for the record. For legal reasons,
- 1:20:07these are jokes, but I wish these problems would
- 1:20:09take care of themselves. If you'll remember,
- 1:20:11this is exactly what we talked about with when
- 1:20:14the whole Ryan McClintock smashing the windows.
- 1:20:17This is exactly why are these people never going
- 1:20:19after the I guess I'll go arrest Bob Norris,
- 1:20:22my fucking soul. Never. You didn't even do that,
- 1:20:25Ryan McClintock. You just you just broke a couple
- 1:20:27of the religion of the state church's windows.
- 1:20:32And now they're dialing up for terrorism, by
- 1:20:34the way. They are. Here is. KTVB's coverage of
- 1:20:39the Extendo record of the murderer. KTVB investigative
- 1:20:44reporter Morgan Romero dug into Wardlaw's criminal
- 1:20:47history and found he has a lengthy record in
- 1:20:49Idaho. She also learned he was released from
- 1:20:51jail just two months before being accused of
- 1:20:54killing Jordan Harpst. Ross Wardlaw's charges
- 1:20:57and convictions stem back decades, even from
- 1:21:00when he was a teen. Records show Wardlaw is homeless
- 1:21:02and he has committed multiple drug offenses and
- 1:21:05violent crimes dating back to the early 2000s.
- 1:21:08I found the 41 year old has been charged with
- 1:21:10battery twice in the last 13 months and aggravated
- 1:21:14assault but was acquitted on the felony charges.
- 1:21:18Ten years ago, court records show Ross Allen
- 1:21:20Wardlaw Jr. was charged with battery. He pleaded
- 1:21:23guilty years later in 2021 and was sentenced
- 1:21:26to a little over two weeks in Ada County Jail.
- 1:21:29Also in 2021, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor
- 1:21:32possession of drug paraphernalia in February
- 1:21:34of that year and was then charged with disturbing
- 1:21:37the peace that spring. He pleaded guilty and
- 1:21:40was sentenced to anger management and six months
- 1:21:43in jail. You know what just occurred to me? The
- 1:21:45again with the on the nose names that the overlords
- 1:21:49of the simulation are messing with us ward law
- 1:21:53Like the ward of the state who has been violating
- 1:21:57the law since he was before but since he was
- 1:21:59a dirty thought in his father's mind Thanks a
- 1:22:02lot ward law According to court records, Wardlaw
- 1:22:05was charged and took a plea deal in 2022, admitting
- 1:22:08to felony possession of a controlled substance.
- 1:22:11In his plea agreement, he states he was on probation
- 1:22:14or parole at the time. Wardlaw was sentenced
- 1:22:16to up to two years in prison in November of 2022,
- 1:22:20and IDOC records show he served that sentence
- 1:22:23and was let out mid July of 2024. And then last
- 1:22:27June, Wardlaw was charged with felony aggravated
- 1:22:29battery and assault, along with persistent violator
- 1:22:32and use of a deadly weapon enhancements. Ada
- 1:22:34County prosecutors accused him of hitting someone
- 1:22:36in the face and breaking their nose. They also
- 1:22:39accused him of chasing and threatening a woman
- 1:22:41with a knife on the same day. Wardlaw was found
- 1:22:45not competent to stand trial. It feels like a
- 1:22:48lot of this along the way was a big deal. Uh
- 1:22:52huh. Board law was found not competent to stand
- 1:22:54trial, and he was admitted to Intermountain Hospital
- 1:22:57in Boise in January this year. Oh, that's why.
- 1:23:00Yeah, that's right, because we have a legal system
- 1:23:02that just makes exceptions for you if you can
- 1:23:04make the insanity plea. You shout like that,
- 1:23:07they put you in jail. Straight to jail. Also
- 1:23:10jail. Believe it or not, jail. In a report the
- 1:23:14Department of Health and Welfare submitted to
- 1:23:15the judge a month later, a social worker wrote,
- 1:23:18Wardlaw made quote, excellent progress in competency
- 1:23:21restoration treatment and has been referred to
- 1:23:23a psychologist for reevaluation of his competency.
- 1:23:27He showed huge improvement in how he wielded
- 1:23:30the knife. We recommend him for release. He now
- 1:23:34wields a knife much more efficiently. And did
- 1:23:37you see his technique on the whetstone? Boy,
- 1:23:40is he a sharpener ninja. For re -evaluation of
- 1:23:44his competency, it is anticipated that he will
- 1:23:46be deemed fit to proceed. Records show Wardlaw
- 1:23:49was released from health and welfare custody
- 1:23:51in March and went back to jail after a two -day
- 1:23:55trial in eight accounti - That's taxpayer, taxpayer
- 1:23:56dollars to taxpayer dollars, by the way. Just
- 1:23:59FYI, we pay for all of that shit, all of it.
- 1:24:01We pay for it all. I like your taxes. After a
- 1:24:04two -day trial in Ada County this May, a jury
- 1:24:07found him not guilty. They'll take your home
- 1:24:09if you don't pay for that stuff. Oh, so you love
- 1:24:11potholes, is that it? A jury found him not guilty.
- 1:24:14A knife wielding crazy people, yes. He was then
- 1:24:18released back into the community. According to
- 1:24:20court documents, Wardlaw also committed a battery
- 1:24:22offense just days after those charges in 2025.
- 1:24:26They always make it sound like we're like...
- 1:24:28So I fly fish. I haven't this year because I
- 1:24:31got all hurt, but I am a fly fisher and we do
- 1:24:33catch and release barbless hook, catch and release.
- 1:24:35And, you know, it seems kind of silly to people
- 1:24:36who don't do catch and release. Why would you
- 1:24:38do it if you just put the fish back? Cause the
- 1:24:40thrill of the catch is a ton of fun. You get
- 1:24:42a good picture and, and the fish are gorgeous.
- 1:24:44And then boop, you put them back in the river
- 1:24:45and guess what? You can catch them again in a
- 1:24:47couple of weeks or next season. It's awesome.
- 1:24:49But when they say like released back into the,
- 1:24:53what was it back into the public or back? It's
- 1:24:56always community, community, community. Community,
- 1:24:58community, community. Of course, I should know
- 1:25:00better, please. I immediately just thought of
- 1:25:02like them releasing this knife wielding fish
- 1:25:04back into the like, all right, here you go. Back
- 1:25:08into the water. Have fun. Be free. Live a good
- 1:25:11life. Don't murder anybody again. Again. They
- 1:25:16make it sound so pure and like, yeah, he was
- 1:25:18released back into the community just as nature
- 1:25:21intended to be like, no, nature would have called
- 1:25:24this motherfucker 20 years ago. Well, they would
- 1:25:28have, except for we spent 80 billion taxpayer
- 1:25:31dollars constructing an elaborate bridge over
- 1:25:34the interstate such that it can allow for the
- 1:25:38knife -wielding fish to make its way to where
- 1:25:41it needs to be. I guarantee you, though, when
- 1:25:44this guy went to pay the toll, they wouldn't
- 1:25:46have made him pay the toll because it would have
- 1:25:47been like, oh, you don't have any money, get
- 1:25:48out of here. Then you and I, we'd have to pay
- 1:25:50the toll to walk across the bridge. I like your
- 1:25:53taxes. Prosecutors say he hit a man. He agreed
- 1:25:57to plead guilty in November while he was already
- 1:25:59in custody on the previous offenses. Wardlaw
- 1:26:02was sentenced to about three months in jail,
- 1:26:04but got credit for time already served. Morgan
- 1:26:07Romero, Idaho's News Channel 7. Now during his
- 1:26:11arraignment this afternoon, prosecutors brought
- 1:26:13up a domestic assault conviction in Oregon from
- 1:26:152017 as well. Prosecutors also told the judge
- 1:26:18Wardlaw's arrest for aggravated battery and assault
- 1:26:21charges back in 2025 happened in the alley near
- 1:26:24Interfaith Sanctuary Homeless Shelter in Corpus
- 1:26:26Commons. Interfaith's director says it involved
- 1:26:29a staff member and a guest. She also told us
- 1:26:32Wardlaw was not a guest there. This is the classic
- 1:26:37trope of, you know, 90 % of your resources going
- 1:26:42into 10 % of your problem, like you can you could
- 1:26:46apply it to private business, you know, you're
- 1:26:48chasing after these instead of paying attention
- 1:26:50to the customers that actually work, you're trying
- 1:26:51to like chase down the ones that are not giving
- 1:26:53you a chance. It applies in so many areas of
- 1:26:56life where the the tiny percentage of of I mean,
- 1:27:01how would you even describe it? Where they're
- 1:27:03just sucking up all the resources. Everyone else
- 1:27:06is just being rung like a bar rag so that we
- 1:27:08can prop up assholes like this. At least that's
- 1:27:11what it feels like. Well, it's not just what
- 1:27:13it feels like. It is the truth. I mean, there
- 1:27:16are some people who are helped by the programs
- 1:27:18and actually maybe do something with their lives,
- 1:27:20but the vast majority of people don't. When it
- 1:27:23comes to the topic of homelessness, homeless
- 1:27:25people themselves will tell you most of them
- 1:27:26are homeless by choice. A good number of them
- 1:27:29are. And people who work around them will tell
- 1:27:31you most homeless people are homeless by choice.
- 1:27:33And most crazy people stay crazy by choice because
- 1:27:37they don't have the support and they don't want
- 1:27:39the support. Either because they don't know any
- 1:27:40better or because they don't want any better.
- 1:27:42And they also like the taste of meth. People
- 1:27:44who want to improve their situations will improve
- 1:27:47their situations. When the meth hits your lips,
- 1:27:48it just wants to hit your lips. It's so good.
- 1:27:52Yeah Good to the last drop on that one. Yeah
- 1:27:55I mean obviously drugs play a role a lot of the
- 1:27:58time mental illness plays a role a lot of the
- 1:27:59time But it also but it also is it it's a truism
- 1:28:02you ask again ask anybody who's around that scene
- 1:28:04who works in it helps with it Volunteers in it,
- 1:28:07whatever they'll tell you most most people on
- 1:28:09that scene or in that scene are are there because
- 1:28:12they want to be And you are 100 % right it's
- 1:28:16the principle Anybody in law enforcement will
- 1:28:19tell you that it's 10 % of the population they
- 1:28:21deal with 90 % of the time. A private business
- 1:28:23owner will tell you that it's 10 % of their clients
- 1:28:25that ruin it for the rest of the 90%, so on and
- 1:28:27so forth. It's 90 % of us funneling resources
- 1:28:31into the 10%. And again, as an anarchist, and
- 1:28:35where I go with this is it's just a tough shit
- 1:28:39type situation. And you can't. I don't believe
- 1:28:43it's moral or ethical to hold society hostage
- 1:28:46as a whole to the whims of five to ten percent
- 1:28:49of the worst of us. The non -producers, whatever
- 1:28:53you want to call them, parasites is really what
- 1:28:55they are, and suicidal empathy is what gets us
- 1:29:00to where we are now. where we spend all this
- 1:29:02money on people who end up sometimes doing stuff
- 1:29:05like this. Now, this is a pretty extreme case.
- 1:29:07So obviously I'm not making the case that everybody
- 1:29:10in that 10 % we're referring to is going to be
- 1:29:12a serial stabber or a scooter hater. Uh, that's
- 1:29:16obviously show title scooter hater scooter stabber.
- 1:29:22Uh, but the, it still remains true that the resources
- 1:29:27we spend on, on this 10 % of the population,
- 1:29:29it's It shouldn't happen. It's absurd. Again,
- 1:29:33it's like, don't you feel good knowing that 6
- 1:29:36% of everything you buy goes towards this shit?
- 1:29:39Don't you feel good that you lose your house
- 1:29:41if you don't pay your property taxes and your
- 1:29:43property taxes go towards this shit? Doesn't
- 1:29:45that feel great? Doesn't it feel great knowing
- 1:29:48that 12 .5 % of your payroll, when you make payroll,
- 1:29:51actually I think it's 16 % now, just gets funneled
- 1:29:54away from you and your employee? and ends up
- 1:29:58for shit like this. I mean, I do understand that
- 1:30:00certain things are allocated for certain things,
- 1:30:02but as a whole, we are tax cows and they take
- 1:30:05a piece and they take another piece and they
- 1:30:07take another piece and another piece. And at
- 1:30:08what point, it doesn't really matter where the
- 1:30:10specific thing goes to what specific cause, it
- 1:30:13all kind of goes into one pot and that pot is
- 1:30:14the government and the government spends it this
- 1:30:16way. Doesn't it just feel nice to know that your
- 1:30:20income taxes got spent on measuring the length
- 1:30:22of a goose penis back in 2012 and now we know
- 1:30:25That male goose penises are longer than female
- 1:30:28goose penises. If we all just pay our fair share,
- 1:30:32right? So according to Melissa Wintrow, if we
- 1:30:37all just paid our fair share, then this guy maybe
- 1:30:41would have even more opportunities to go back
- 1:30:43to jail and then get out, be released into the
- 1:30:47wild and stab more people. I don't know. Not
- 1:30:50to get lost in the mix. Sorry, it needs to be
- 1:30:52said before I forget. Scott is. It sucks for,
- 1:30:56well, Jordan's family and Jordan himself, poor
- 1:30:59kid. That sucks. That's no good. Yes. You just
- 1:31:04have a, now you have a dead 25 year old who,
- 1:31:07you know, by, by all accounts, but I don't obviously
- 1:31:10know him or I'm just going based on what I've
- 1:31:12read, which is very I only was looking into it
- 1:31:14this morning. But, you know, he seems like he
- 1:31:16was, you know, the light of a lot of people's
- 1:31:19lives. You know, I don't know what he was contributing
- 1:31:21or not, but, you know, a contribute by all appearances,
- 1:31:24a contributor versus a suck, a drag, a leech
- 1:31:29and the leech or at the very least a at the very
- 1:31:33least a potential contributor. I mean, 25, man,
- 1:31:35you got you still have, you know, damn near your
- 1:31:39whole life ahead of you. Yeah. To extinguish
- 1:31:42that. for some, for some fucking low life scumbag
- 1:31:47that we, dude, I mean, if we had to wager on
- 1:31:49how much of our money has probably been pumped
- 1:31:52into that guy just between health and welfare
- 1:31:54and jail or prison, hundreds of thousands of
- 1:31:58dollars, a parasite. These people are parasites.
- 1:32:02Right. Right. I did it myself. Yeah. Now Melissa
- 1:32:04Wintrow is, you know, but, but just remember
- 1:32:07society would collapse if we didn't have things
- 1:32:11the way they are now. I mean, these cuts are
- 1:32:13killing people. That's in that ironic. You know
- 1:32:15what's actually killing people, Wintro? Your
- 1:32:20shitty policies here is now this is why it became,
- 1:32:24you know, it's sort of a political, you know,
- 1:32:27because become a topic of conversation or I guess
- 1:32:30has always been, but it's just the latest in
- 1:32:32a long line of them, which is that there are
- 1:32:34he's not the only this this meth head jerk off
- 1:32:37murderer guy was not the only. guy sleeping camping
- 1:32:41in and around camping as NPR calls it, as you'll
- 1:32:44hear in a moment, around the Boise Green Belt.
- 1:32:47This is this is the city not enforcing their
- 1:32:49own vagrancy policies and allowing this shit
- 1:32:53to proliferate, which obviously to to not nearly
- 1:32:57the extent that many blue cities do but as a
- 1:33:00as a blue city and as a deep blue wannabe city
- 1:33:04Boise is attempting to allow this to proliferate
- 1:33:08to the extent that the citizens will allow it
- 1:33:09which as of right now seems like a little bit
- 1:33:12but they're trying to make it happen a lot a
- 1:33:14bit and what now as a mainstream media deconstruction
- 1:33:17show the mainstream media abets this suicidal
- 1:33:21empathy that Paul brought up and the the populace
- 1:33:24lulling the populace into being okay with And
- 1:33:28otherwise, either turning a blind eye to or actively
- 1:33:31endorsing this vagrancy and the behavior that
- 1:33:34leads to situations like this. Behold NPR. Idaho
- 1:33:38NPR out of Boise and how they frame what you
- 1:33:40just heard. Two Republican lawmakers, neither
- 1:33:43from Boise, are accusing the city of not enforcing
- 1:33:46the state law banning - So right out of the top,
- 1:33:48the people who are calling the city out are the
- 1:33:51assholes. Two Republican lawmakers, neither from
- 1:33:54Boise, are accusing the city of not enforcing
- 1:33:57the state law banning camping in public and linking
- 1:33:59the lack of enforcement with the murder of a
- 1:34:0225 year old man on the green belt last week.
- 1:34:04Why would they be linking that? That's so irresponsible
- 1:34:06of them. of a 25 year old man on the green belt
- 1:34:08last week by an unhoused unhoused unhoused person
- 1:34:11unhoused now why it's always it'll be fun to
- 1:34:14sort of try to predict what the next propagandistic
- 1:34:17buzzword they used to describe vagrants because
- 1:34:20it's as everything that they do is always constantly
- 1:34:23changing and it's it's vagrant and then it's
- 1:34:27homeless and then are they gonna call illegal
- 1:34:29immigrants uncountried House Speaker Mike Moyle
- 1:34:33of Starr and Napa Republican Bruce Scog, in a
- 1:34:36news release Monday shared with multiple news
- 1:34:38outlets, called the incident preventable. They
- 1:34:40say they've requested the State Attorney General's
- 1:34:42office to review potential legal options against
- 1:34:45the city. Scog suggested the victim's family
- 1:34:47should file a wrongful death lawsuit against
- 1:34:49Boise. I would. He says the law targets, quote,
- 1:34:53mentally unstable people, unquote, who are camping
- 1:34:55in public, just like the man who Scog says admitted
- 1:34:58to the killing, saying he thought people were
- 1:35:00on scooters. We're out to get him there is the
- 1:35:03accused killer Ross Ward law jr. As an extensive
- 1:35:06criminal history and is also thought to have
- 1:35:08been Camping regularly in the area where the
- 1:35:11attack occurred. He was just camping there. He
- 1:35:13was camping there regularly You know, he had
- 1:35:15his he had his old Toyota Dolphin motor home
- 1:35:18from 1986 and you know, man that thing's got
- 1:35:20that four -banger that just won't quit But he
- 1:35:22was just camping in downtown Boise Yeah, if it
- 1:35:26was you and I on Quote -unquote public land that
- 1:35:29we supposedly also own and are forced to pay
- 1:35:31for and we wanted to carve out 20 acres for ourselves
- 1:35:34or something like that and just Make it ours
- 1:35:37We would be squatters But this guy's just camping
- 1:35:41And he's only camping because he's unhoused.
- 1:35:44So what we need, of course, if the problem is
- 1:35:46that he's unhoused, the solution is a house.
- 1:35:48And that's how all of these people think and
- 1:35:51speak. I don't know if they think that way, but
- 1:35:52that's at least how they speak. They get up at
- 1:35:54their podiums and they announce that the problem
- 1:35:55is lack of houses, even though the problem has
- 1:35:57nothing to do with lack of houses, at least with
- 1:35:59regard to people that are camping just with just
- 1:36:02a little light draw on the meth pipe and then
- 1:36:04enjoy the bonfire. You put on those gloves that
- 1:36:08show just the tips of your fingers and you enjoy
- 1:36:09the nice warmth of the fire in the truck. trash
- 1:36:11can. That should be the show art. Or him chasing
- 1:36:19with a with a knife chasing around a guy on the
- 1:36:22scooter who shit in his pants because of the
- 1:36:24EDM. Oh, man. So that's there you go. NPR, if
- 1:36:28you the people who call out the city are assholes
- 1:36:32and the poor guy just needed a house. Thank you
- 1:36:37so very deeply, NPR. Oh my gosh. What a narrative.
- 1:36:43So good. Yep. Okay, a couple more for this week.
- 1:36:47I wonder, are there any of their glorious Chalupa
- 1:36:51Supreme leaders saying anything about it? Has
- 1:36:54anybody even attempted to do something like this?
- 1:36:58We are deeply sorry. We're sorry. We're sorry.
- 1:37:06BP has taken full responsibility for cleaning
- 1:37:09up the spill in the Gulf and in doing so we have
- 1:37:12changed our name from Beyond Petroleum to Dependable
- 1:37:15Petroleum DP we no longer fuck the earth we DP
- 1:37:20it as far as I know I haven't seen it yet. We'll
- 1:37:27follow up. I'm sure someone, I'm sure Lauren
- 1:37:29McLean is going to get and said the boy, the
- 1:37:31mayor of Boise at some point going to get in
- 1:37:33front of a microphone, had a podium and just
- 1:37:35explain how we need to protect the LGBT community
- 1:37:39from the guys on scooters or something thereabouts.
- 1:37:43And from a lack of housing, dude, the problem
- 1:37:45with the gays is they don't have enough housing
- 1:37:47and not enough knives to wield against those
- 1:37:51crazy suburban white boys on scooters. That is
- 1:37:55the real danger here. I am Lauren McLean. I think
- 1:38:00at some point she'll be forced to have to issue
- 1:38:03some sort of public statement. And I guarantee
- 1:38:05you it will be a backhanded apology where it'll
- 1:38:07be like, well, this should never have happened.
- 1:38:09And that poor young man and his family, but also
- 1:38:11this is all your fault. It's white supremacy's
- 1:38:15fault and the patriarchy and the fact that this
- 1:38:18This parasite who we've spent probably at this
- 1:38:21point, I'm sure millions of dollars on didn't
- 1:38:23have a house and also Boise is inclusive and
- 1:38:27for everyone, especially murderers, but not you
- 1:38:31white kid who got murdered. It's not for you
- 1:38:33because you're straight and white and suburban.
- 1:38:36And as long as I'm here at the podium, I would
- 1:38:39like to announce that all employees of the city
- 1:38:41of Boise get the next 365 days off and double
- 1:38:44their salaries. The problem was that the scooter
- 1:38:47wasn't rainbow flagged like the rest of Boise
- 1:38:51so ordinance got attacked ordinance new ordinance
- 1:38:56All right moving along here to some of Post Falls
- 1:39:04is Infrastructure and I thought there was an
- 1:39:07interesting that there were a couple of stories
- 1:39:09this week Specifically about Post Falls and some
- 1:39:13of its old infrastructure starting here with
- 1:39:15the water tower in on next to the Spokane Street
- 1:39:19Bridge Falls Rotary Club is trying to preserve
- 1:39:21one of the city's most recognizable landmarks
- 1:39:25built in the early 1900s. The water tower on
- 1:39:27Spokane Street served as the city's water system
- 1:39:30for more than 70 years before being replaced
- 1:39:33by modern infrastructure. The Rotary Clubs now
- 1:39:35fundraising to prevent the water tower from being
- 1:39:38torn down. The organization says this is an opportunity
- 1:39:41to save the landmark and potentially upgraded,
- 1:39:44and that could include enhanced landscaping,
- 1:39:47seasonal lights and. possibly a viewing platform.
- 1:39:50I'm a little surprised that that's even on the
- 1:39:52table. It's like one of it's like probably the
- 1:39:56visual iconic sort of indicator or whatever you
- 1:40:00want to call it for Post Falls. Is that overstating
- 1:40:03the case? I mean, I see it everywhere. I was
- 1:40:06going to ask, I guess, who was trying to tear
- 1:40:09it down. Is it is it on? So I'm legitimate question
- 1:40:12because I don't know. Is it on city property?
- 1:40:15I don't know that. Let me look at the parcel
- 1:40:18map real quick and see if I can... And if you're
- 1:40:20considering tearing it down, you're only doing
- 1:40:22that for one of a couple of reasons. Number one,
- 1:40:24you have intentions to develop that parcel. Number
- 1:40:27two, it's got to come down because it might be
- 1:40:30a safety concern. Those are kind of your two
- 1:40:32primary ones. And so I guess it's a curiosity.
- 1:40:35Is it city -owned property? I assume the water
- 1:40:39tower itself is city -owned. I think it's safe
- 1:40:41to say it's probably city -owned because if it
- 1:40:43was... part of city infrastructure, odds are
- 1:40:47good, it still is a city owned property. I'm
- 1:40:49on the parcel polygon right now and it is post
- 1:40:52falls comma city of and you know what it's actually
- 1:40:54it's a tiny little square that is just the water
- 1:40:58tower. Just big enough for the water tower? Yep,
- 1:41:00owned by the city. Yep. Okay, so then that would
- 1:41:04mean that they're considering tearing it down.
- 1:41:07Okay, that makes sense. Yeah, so they're tearing
- 1:41:09it, they would be tearing it down because safety
- 1:41:11concerns, that would be it liability. You can't
- 1:41:13have that thing coming down and be in the liability.
- 1:41:16So that's probably what's going on there, unless
- 1:41:18you've got more answers. And I. Well, so well,
- 1:41:21I we can I we can sort of speculate or at least
- 1:41:24OK, so on the parcel map, so the city owns the
- 1:41:26water tower, the adjacent parking lot that they
- 1:41:28just built, which is across the street from Spokaneats
- 1:41:31and Post Falls Brewing Co. You know, sort of
- 1:41:33for overflow parking for those businesses. It's
- 1:41:36sort of like the downtown Post Falls corridor.
- 1:41:38So the city owns the parking lot. The. Large
- 1:41:41parcel adjacent to the water tower in the parking
- 1:41:44lot in between that and all those waterfront
- 1:41:46condos is Liberty Bankers Life Insurance Co.
- 1:41:49So that is privately owned and it is there's
- 1:41:51just nothing there So I wonder if maybe that
- 1:41:55is gonna be developed for now So maybe they're
- 1:41:57gonna that's gonna be developed and there's something
- 1:41:59where the city and Liberty Bankers Life are doing
- 1:42:04something negotiating because they want to put
- 1:42:06something there. I mean, it's like prime real
- 1:42:08estate right adjacent to the river and across
- 1:42:10from the downtown corridor. Who knows? Well,
- 1:42:13either way, something like that would be it would
- 1:42:15be it would be expensive to renovate it and keep
- 1:42:20it there. I'm going to guess that they're going
- 1:42:21to they're considering a safety concern would
- 1:42:23be would it be the most likely scenario? The
- 1:42:25next likely scenario would be the one you just
- 1:42:27described where they're dealing with the private
- 1:42:29property owner and maybe they're like, hey, let's
- 1:42:31figure something out for reasons unknown. I would
- 1:42:34wager a fair bit of money on the former over
- 1:42:37the latter. And it's just a money thing. You've
- 1:42:40got to maintain it or you've got to reinforce
- 1:42:42it or not reinvigorate. What's the word I'm looking
- 1:42:45for? Renovate. Refurbish. Thank you. Renovate
- 1:42:49and make sure the thing doesn't become a safety
- 1:42:51issue. And that costs a lot of money. Hence why
- 1:42:54the Rotary Club is stepping in. I'm sure there's
- 1:42:56already been a conversation between them and
- 1:42:58the city. And I'm sure the Rotary Club, which
- 1:43:00is connected to the city in more ways than one,
- 1:43:02has probably said, well, let's preserve this.
- 1:43:04And the city went, all right, be our guest, raise
- 1:43:06the money. Like I said, it was interesting that
- 1:43:10there was another story along these lines with
- 1:43:13regard to a building just a block or two away
- 1:43:15the Post Falls Historical Museum. This is the
- 1:43:19Chapin building. It's more than 100 years old
- 1:43:22and it sits on the corner of 4th and Spokane
- 1:43:24Street in Post Falls. Right now it's being used
- 1:43:27as a museum by the Post Falls Historical Society.
- 1:43:30But the building dedicated to preserving the
- 1:43:32past has an uncertain future. dedicated to perverting
- 1:43:36the past, according to Governor Brad Little,
- 1:43:38dedicated to preserving the past has an uncertain
- 1:43:40future. Mary Sheridan explains what's at stake.
- 1:43:44The Chapin building has served the community
- 1:43:45of Post Falls in many ways over the past 100
- 1:43:49years. It began as a pharmacy and was later a
- 1:43:52laundromat and a vacant spot for school dances.
- 1:43:55When the city acquired the building in 1979,
- 1:43:59it became the police and parks department. Today,
- 1:44:02it's a museum of local history. People will come
- 1:44:05in and donate things from us like Frederick Post,
- 1:44:08their family comes in. The city of post falls
- 1:44:10st building though, but they society to use it
- 1:44:15rent fr cover the day to day ma But at more than
- 1:44:19100 yea are adding up these beams As the president
- 1:44:27of the Post Falls Historical Society, Chris King
- 1:44:30alerted city leaders that these expenses are
- 1:44:32too much for the society to handle alone. But
- 1:44:35at a city council meeting last month, the mayor
- 1:44:38explained the city isn't in a place to help out.
- 1:44:40The short version is we don't have the money.
- 1:44:42We've been working on how we're going to pay
- 1:44:45for health insurance and pay our police officers
- 1:44:50and dispatch and fill potholes in the streets.
- 1:44:51We are being really careful. The roads. Thank
- 1:44:55you Mayor Randy Weston. And my road pirates.
- 1:44:57It's the only example they can ever, ever, ever
- 1:45:02come up with. They are our police officers and
- 1:45:04dispatch and fill potholes in the streets. The
- 1:45:06status handbook is pretty short. 70 % of the
- 1:45:12Post Falls budget is probably just to pay Post
- 1:45:15Falls employees. And then the road and then my
- 1:45:18roads. Please don't take my roads. Officers and
- 1:45:21dispatch and fill potholes in the streets. We
- 1:45:22are being really careful about how we so you
- 1:45:24love potholes. Is that it in the streets? We
- 1:45:26are being really careful about how we spend money
- 1:45:28because we don't know if we'll be here in a month
- 1:45:31or a year. The future of the Chapin building
- 1:45:33is still undecided, but the city put out a request
- 1:45:36for proposals and plans to evaluate the best
- 1:45:39use of taxpayers dollars. The Historical Society
- 1:45:42submitted their request for proposal last week.
- 1:45:45King may they're open to extending their hours
- 1:45:47and finding more community sponsors. Once you
- 1:45:50lose a building like this, it's never the same
- 1:45:52again. You can't reenter it. This is like, this
- 1:45:57is part of who false false is and we want to
- 1:45:59stay here. It's also because they would modern
- 1:46:02code would never allow for that building to exist
- 1:46:04anymore. It's been grandfathered in, but the
- 1:46:08minute you have to renovate it or change it or
- 1:46:10do anything to it, you're, you're hosed. You
- 1:46:12are absolutely hosed. And there's a and any private
- 1:46:15business who would try to move in and do anything
- 1:46:16to it. Oh, forget about it. Unless you've got
- 1:46:18a million bucks just to renovate it, not to buy
- 1:46:21it, just to renovate it. And that's all thanks
- 1:46:24to local ordinances and universal building code
- 1:46:27and all of that bullshit. It is amazing how many
- 1:46:30buildings and properties sit basically blighted
- 1:46:33because nobody can afford to do anything the
- 1:46:35moment that it experiences what's called a change
- 1:46:38of use. The society plans to meet with city leaders
- 1:46:43leaders leaders for leaders leaders leaders leaders
- 1:46:45leaders This is your leaders your bi bi -monthly
- 1:46:49no ID reminder that the mainstream media is hammering
- 1:46:52that word into your head So that you think that
- 1:46:53government is God. They are the exact opposite
- 1:46:56of leaders. They are elected representatives
- 1:46:59We the people are the leaders, but the mainstream
- 1:47:01media worships the state You're even nicer about
- 1:47:06it than I am I think they're I think they're
- 1:47:08meddlers and parasites and tyrants And people
- 1:47:11are stupid and vote for them. How does Paul really
- 1:47:15feel more at 11 plans to meet with city leaders,
- 1:47:17leaders, leaders for a workshop in the coming
- 1:47:19weeks in Post Falls, Mary Sheridan for News Now.
- 1:47:23OK, that is interesting. Well, at least at least
- 1:47:26credit to Post Falls, though. Yes. And credit
- 1:47:28to Post Falls. Sorry, I'm interrupting. I'm going
- 1:47:30to do it real quick. Finish my thought credit
- 1:47:32to Post Falls for not immediately knee jerk going.
- 1:47:36Well, how about this? We'll just float another
- 1:47:38levy or a bond. Or we'll just like, it's going
- 1:47:42to pay for the road or like this. Yeah. Well,
- 1:47:44this is the city's responsibility and we're going
- 1:47:47to have to pour a million dollars into this building.
- 1:47:49And also for the water tower, because we really
- 1:47:52like that. It's iconic. We're going to pour a
- 1:47:54million dollars into that, too. And we're going
- 1:47:56to float a bond or a levy or whatever, you know,
- 1:47:59instead to their credit. They're like, well,
- 1:48:03we don't have the money. So, hey, Rotary Club,
- 1:48:06you want the water tower? Figure it out. Hey.
- 1:48:09Historic society you want to do the building?
- 1:48:11Let's meet together and figure this out So I
- 1:48:14will give credit where credit is due to the city
- 1:48:17of Post Falls on that and that's mainly due to
- 1:48:19the leadership of Who's on the council and who's
- 1:48:23the mayor right now and most most years it wouldn't
- 1:48:25go that way, but post falls got lucky Paul is
- 1:48:29great is giving credit to a government apparatus
- 1:48:32Okay, so that sounds bonkers to you. It's because
- 1:48:36it is Yeah, well I also sent you two articles
- 1:48:40this last week both from this both opinion articles
- 1:48:43from the statesman the Idaho statesman and both
- 1:48:47of them Actually said shit that made sense. It
- 1:48:51was like opposite week or something I couldn't
- 1:48:53believe it one was about housing and the other
- 1:48:55one was I forget what the first one was and Both
- 1:48:59of them actually were on point. I couldn't believe
- 1:49:01it I'm pretty sure both authors had no connection
- 1:49:04to the Idaho Statesman. But the fact that the
- 1:49:06Idaho Statesman ran those pieces blew my mind.
- 1:49:09So I just I had to send them. Yeah. It's like
- 1:49:12it's opposite week. What is happening? And I
- 1:49:14read them. And of course, they were like dramatically
- 1:49:17understated and and soft in approach. But even
- 1:49:21but to your point, yeah, that even that the Pravda
- 1:49:24would even run them in the first place is maybe
- 1:49:26A .I. made the decision and the editorial board
- 1:49:28guys on vacation. I don't know what was happening
- 1:49:31over there. I mean, damn it, what was the other
- 1:49:34one, dude? Do you remember? Oh, it was about
- 1:49:38public education. It was about public education.
- 1:49:41And the article was the question that led with
- 1:49:45a question guest opinion. Does Idaho public education
- 1:49:48need more money? Right? Yeah. Like what is the
- 1:49:50amount that you need? Yeah. Now the guy who writes
- 1:49:54it offers up like 12 mea culpa's before he really
- 1:49:58gets into the meat of it. You know, like, oh,
- 1:50:00you know, it's still really important and we
- 1:50:02still got to pay our people and blah, blah, blah,
- 1:50:04blah. That's because Becky Pringle was standing
- 1:50:07next to him while he was typing going, okay,
- 1:50:11okay, okay. Public education is important. Okay.
- 1:50:14Yeah. It's really important, but we're hemorrhaging
- 1:50:19students and the system is archaic and maybe
- 1:50:24we should do something about that. I mean, yet
- 1:50:25again, it's like, so there's a problem. Hey guys,
- 1:50:27there's a problem. There might be a solution
- 1:50:30here, but I know I'm not allowed to say it out
- 1:50:32loud, but I will say the problem out loud. Yes,
- 1:50:35and ask the question that is the only follow
- 1:50:38-up question to be asked when you hear a statement
- 1:50:41like, we need more money, we need more this and
- 1:50:45that, then it's not enough. The levy that was
- 1:50:47passed is not enough money. Any journalistic
- 1:50:50-minded person or just general curiosity might
- 1:50:53could ask something like, well, what would be
- 1:50:56enough? It's never enough, Scott. Well, that's
- 1:51:03enough for today. I just saw your text about
- 1:51:06it being my song being too loud. Sorry about
- 1:51:09that. You'll have to fix it in post. Yep. Why
- 1:51:12don't look at my phone when we're doing our podcast?
- 1:51:16I love to hear that. I'm busy. I'm here living
- 1:51:19in the moment with my buddy Scott. Well, this
- 1:51:23moment... We've had enough and this moment is
- 1:51:26over episode 37 of no ID in the can. Thank you
- 1:51:31very much. You out there you producers who help
- 1:51:34us produce this program in the value for value
- 1:51:37model. No ID show .com is the portal to go do
- 1:51:42everything as mentioned in the value for value
- 1:51:44segment and otherwise repeated on this program
- 1:51:47every week. Please participate. That's how the
- 1:51:50model works. And we appreciate all you guys who
- 1:51:52have done so and continue to do so a lot. We
- 1:51:56will thank you. Thank you to our executive producers
- 1:51:58today. And thank you, CJ, for the show art we
- 1:52:00will use in the near future. Yeah, so we'll see
- 1:52:03how the podium sketch up turns out. I still might
- 1:52:06use that this week. It's as of now undecided.
- 1:52:13I can't wait. Paul's just grooving to the outro.
- 1:52:17I am. You know, I can see the post falls water
- 1:52:20tower from, as you know, from the window from
- 1:52:22where I'm doing the show. So I got the monitor.
- 1:52:24I got all my my sound clips and everything. And
- 1:52:27then if I just turn to the left and I look out
- 1:52:28the window, I can see the post falls wire tower.
- 1:52:30Man, I think I would really miss it if it was
- 1:52:32gone. You should put the post falls tower on
- 1:52:36the podium. Ooh. I really wanted to work in.
- 1:52:43There's only been one album art that had you
- 1:52:45work into it, the disrupting funerals. And I
- 1:52:47really wanted to get you back in there somehow.
- 1:52:50I've I've got it. I already I've got it. We'll
- 1:52:52talk about it after post here. All right. And
- 1:52:54so then until then, until next week from Post
- 1:52:56Falls Water Tower Visible, I'm Scott. And I'm
- 1:53:02Paul, taxation is theft. Drop, drop, drop the
- 1:53:07bass bass bass.
