- 0:25Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:29Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley, along with
- 0:33Speaker 1: Trey Trenholm and Raj Sharman. Today is Wednesday, March fifth,
- 0:41Speaker 1: two thousand twenty five. I don't usually like to start
- 0:48Speaker 1: the show with something scary, but I'm faced with no
- 0:51Speaker 1: other choice today. Florida has become self aware.
- 1:02Speaker 2: What we've been worried about this for a while, Just.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Like Skynet, Florida has become self aware. And if they
- 1:13Speaker 1: figure out time travel, we are all hosed. The Florida
- 1:18Speaker 1: Games are real.
- 1:21Speaker 2: And they are awesome.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Like, if we're being honest, a lot of people, including us,
- 1:27Speaker 1: we make fun of Florida a lot for how ridiculous
- 1:30Speaker 1: it is, and Florida knows it. And we know this
- 1:34Speaker 1: because the second Annual Florida Games happened this past weekend.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Is it Florida Games or Florida Man Games?
- 1:44Speaker 1: Are there two of them?
- 1:46Speaker 2: I don't know, because.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Oh, this is the annual Florida Man Games. Okay, Like,
- 1:53Speaker 1: my god, if there's two of them, I don't if
- 1:55Speaker 1: we can handle that much awesome at one time, Although
- 2:01Speaker 1: I am curious to see what happens for the Florida
- 2:04Speaker 1: Women Games, or heaven forbid the special Florida Games, which aren't.
- 2:16Speaker 2: They all I was about to say it seems redundant,
- 2:20Speaker 2: They're all special. Yeah.
- 2:22Speaker 1: The second annual Florida Games happened this past weekend, which
- 2:27Speaker 1: tells us a couple of things. One Florida is self
- 2:31Speaker 1: aware and two there's going to be more of the Yeah,
- 2:39Speaker 1: they're already planning for next year.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Sure. Yeah.
- 2:44Speaker 1: The second annual Florida Man Games were a huge success.
- 2:47Speaker 1: They went down last Saturday near Saint Augustine, Florida. Hey,
- 2:51Speaker 1: I've been there. I was there a couple of years ago,
- 2:54Speaker 1: a couple of nights near Christmas. Pretty light. The first
- 3:02Speaker 1: Florida Man Games were February twenty fourth, twenty twenty four,
- 3:08Speaker 1: and they had the second annual this past weekend. They
- 3:13Speaker 1: brought back a few popular events from the first Florida
- 3:16Speaker 1: mand Games, like the Evading Arrest Obstacle course. That's where
- 3:23Speaker 1: you escape from handcuffs, throw an alligator through a drive
- 3:26Speaker 1: through window, and steal a catalytic converter, all while being
- 3:29Speaker 1: chased by actual police officers. I want it said that
- 3:34Speaker 1: we didn't write this. This is what they're actually doing
- 3:38Speaker 1: in Florida at the Florida Man Games. Also back this
- 3:44Speaker 1: year the weaponized pool noodle mud Duel. It's just like
- 3:50Speaker 1: joust from American Gladiators, but in a baby pool, and
- 3:54Speaker 1: the jousting pools are made of pool noodles and duct tape.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Yes, this sounds about this is this is all tracking?
- 4:03Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that sounds perfect so far.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Also back for the second annual Florida mand Games the
- 4:11Speaker 1: Florida Sumo Cage Match and beer chug. That's where you
- 4:15Speaker 1: wear an inner tube, fight someone while holding a picture
- 4:17Speaker 1: of beer and try not to spill it. The loser
- 4:21Speaker 1: can still get points by chugging the winners remaining beer.
- 4:26Speaker 1: So those are the returning events for the annual Florida
- 4:29Speaker 1: mand Games. Just like the regular Olympics, the Florida Man
- 4:34Speaker 1: Games has added some new events this year. New events
- 4:38Speaker 1: this year included Hurricane party prep, the Grocery aisle Brawl. Okay,
- 4:48Speaker 1: it's like medieval jousting, but in shopping carts and if
- 4:52Speaker 1: no one falls, you just fight it out for hurricane supplies.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I remember doing that in the parking lot of an
- 5:01Speaker 1: empty food Lion jousting with grocery carts but obviously Florida
- 5:07Speaker 1: takes it to a new level.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Another new event this year human beer pong. You're in
- 5:16Speaker 1: a big inflatable bubble and you have to get past someone.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Then you jump in a pool that looks like a
- 5:21Speaker 1: big red solo cup. The loser has to chug beer,
- 5:25Speaker 1: whiskey or bong water.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Oh who picks that one?
- 5:32Speaker 1: I don't know who's in charge of that mix.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll take the beer.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Other attractions at this year's Florida Man Games included axe throwing,
- 5:44Speaker 1: lawnmower races, a mechanical gator instead of a bull, and
- 5:49Speaker 1: the best mullet contest.
- 5:53Speaker 5: Is this Florida Man becoming self aware? Or is this
- 5:56Speaker 5: some just Florida Darwinian survival of the fittest?
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yes? Are they looking for a new leader?
- 6:04Speaker 1: Very possible.
- 6:06Speaker 3: This is how they not the herd.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I also feel like I know where we should do
- 6:11Speaker 1: our road show next year. Yes, a treehouse trip. Yeah,
- 6:21Speaker 1: we all go to attend the Florida Man Games twenty
- 6:23Speaker 1: twenty six if we're all still here, because let's be honest,
- 6:29Speaker 1: if the State of Florida does figure out time travel,
- 6:31Speaker 1: we're all gonna die.
- 6:36Speaker 4: And I personally want to be the first person of
- 6:38Speaker 4: color at the Florida Mangates because it's it's just all
- 6:42Speaker 4: you guys.
- 6:44Speaker 3: It has to be, especially the Mullet.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I don't think so. I think it's very possible that
- 6:50Speaker 1: the Florida Man Games will already have some people of
- 6:52Speaker 1: color involved, it just may not be in the capacity
- 6:55Speaker 1: you want.
- 7:04Speaker 6: Business online on Treehouse on air dot com.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Time now to talk to Daniel Cook from Cook DFW
- 7:12Speaker 1: Roofing and Restoration to get a free roof inspection. Call
- 7:15Speaker 1: him today eight three three Cook DFW eight three three
- 7:19Speaker 1: Cook DFW. Daniel, I'm pretty sure you know what's in
- 7:24Speaker 1: your homeowner's insurance policy because it's a huge part of
- 7:28Speaker 1: your business and your life. But most of us probably
- 7:32Speaker 1: have no idea what our actual coverage is.
- 7:34Speaker 7: Do we Most people have no clue what they pay
- 7:37Speaker 7: for on insurance because they expect that their insurance is insurance.
- 7:41Speaker 7: They expect that they're going to have a base on
- 7:43Speaker 7: insurance that they have to have based on their mortgage
- 7:46Speaker 7: requirements or whatever else are. They went and saw some money,
- 7:49Speaker 7: they say, yeah, we can get you at three thousand
- 7:51Speaker 7: dollars a year for insurance, no problem. What they forget
- 7:54Speaker 7: to tell you sometimes is that well, that means we're
- 7:56Speaker 7: gonna have to take your deductible from one percent to
- 7:58Speaker 7: three percent, or we're gonna have to change your coverage
- 8:00Speaker 7: from replacement costs to actual cash value, or we're going
- 8:03Speaker 7: to take away half of your writing coverage or code upgrade.
- 8:07Speaker 1: And this is this is boring.
- 8:09Speaker 7: Nobody wants to read your policies. Nobody. I mean, it's
- 8:11Speaker 7: thirty two pages of blah blah blah blah blah. So
- 8:15Speaker 7: make sure one, I highly urge everybody get an agent
- 8:17Speaker 7: that's willing to sit down with you and discuss coverages
- 8:20Speaker 7: and how much coverages change your premiums. And two, if
- 8:24Speaker 7: you don't understand it, now, make sure you get that
- 8:26Speaker 7: understanding before something major happens at your home. I mean
- 8:29Speaker 7: just I mean a few months ago, we had a
- 8:31Speaker 7: client that called us out.
- 8:32Speaker 1: They had a.
- 8:33Speaker 7: Ton of damage. They were shocked that they found out
- 8:36Speaker 7: they had a twelve thousand dollars deductible on their coverages.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Now, you don't want to be that guy.
- 8:40Speaker 7: Don't be shocked. Know what you're walking into, because sometimes
- 8:44Speaker 7: it may not even be worth it to follow claim.
- 8:47Speaker 7: You know, maybe you just want to pay out of
- 8:48Speaker 7: the pocket because if you don't have if you have
- 8:50Speaker 7: to have more than twelve thousand dollars worth a damage,
- 8:52Speaker 7: sometimes you won't. So now make sure you know your coverages,
- 8:56Speaker 7: make sure you get an agent that will walk you
- 8:58Speaker 7: through it.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Great advice from Daniel Cook from COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration

- 10:01Speaker 1: Dan Olmley. That's me along with Trey Trenholm and Raj
- 10:04Speaker 1: Sharma inside the Treehouse today Wednesday, March fifth, twenty twenty five.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Now that we know about the Florida Games and what
- 10:10Speaker 1: we're going to be doing this time next year, which
- 10:12Speaker 1: is going to the third annual Florida Man Games, and
- 10:16Speaker 1: with any luck, we will be the Grand Marshals.
- 10:22Speaker 3: I think mean grand Wizards.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I think.
- 10:27Speaker 1: All right, well, Trey and I will be there. Raj,
- 10:32Speaker 1: I'm not so sure about what you'll be doing. So anyway,
- 10:39Speaker 1: that's what we'll be doing probably around this time next year.
- 10:42Speaker 1: It's important to dream big, folks. Yeah. Meanwhile, there's some
- 10:46Speaker 1: things going on in other states that are equally as crazy.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I'm talking about the state of Connecticut. A high school
- 10:56Speaker 1: honors graduate is suing the school district because she can't
- 10:59Speaker 1: read or I'm gonna say that again. A high school
- 11:08Speaker 1: honors student is suing her school district because she's illiterate. Wow,
- 11:17Speaker 1: this is from Connecticut. She graduated in June and she's
- 11:21Speaker 1: now suing her former high school, claiming she cannot read
- 11:24Speaker 1: or write and is failing college as a result of
- 11:28Speaker 1: her alma maters or curriculum. Her name is Alicia Ortiz.
- 11:33Speaker 1: She was born in Puerto Rico moved with her family
- 11:35Speaker 1: to Hartford, Connecticut when she was five years old. This
- 11:38Speaker 1: is a good time to remind people that Puerto Rico
- 11:41Speaker 1: is a United States territory. So if your first thought was, well,
- 11:45Speaker 1: legals need to need to learn language, Puerto Rico is
- 11:48Speaker 1: part of the United States. Now that you know that,
- 11:52Speaker 1: backwards ass hat, someone needed to hear that. We all
- 11:59Speaker 1: know it. Here's one guy that needed to hear that. Now,
- 12:01Speaker 1: moving back, moving on. She was born in Puerto Rico,
- 12:05Speaker 1: moved with her family to Hartford, Connecticut when she was five.
- 12:08Speaker 1: She graduated through the school program despite reading at a
- 12:12Speaker 1: kindergarten or maybe first grade level. Wow as a sixth grader. Yeah,
- 12:22Speaker 1: as a sixth grader she was reading at a kindergarten
- 12:25Speaker 1: or first grade level. And during her last month at
- 12:30Speaker 1: Hartford Public High School, after she disclosed she was attending
- 12:34Speaker 1: the University of Connecticut in the fall, she completed additional
- 12:37Speaker 1: testing that revealed she had dyslexia and required explicitly taught phonics, fluency,
- 12:43Speaker 1: and reading comprehension, the first of which is taught in kindergarten.
- 12:47Speaker 1: By the way, she says, I didn't know English very well.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I didn't know the rules of the schools. There were
- 12:52Speaker 1: a lot of things that they would tell me, and
- 12:53Speaker 1: I let myself go by what the teachers would tell
- 12:55Speaker 1: me because I didn't understand anything. She said. She used
- 12:59Speaker 1: at apps to translate text to speech and speech to
- 13:02Speaker 1: text to complete her assignments.
- 13:06Speaker 3: Wow, how did she apply for college?
- 13:10Speaker 2: Ay?
- 13:11Speaker 1: I probably there's an app for everything, and there's AI
- 13:17Speaker 1: for all that stuff these days. After testifying about her
- 13:20Speaker 1: experience as an illiterate high school student during a May
- 13:24Speaker 1: twenty twenty four city council meeting, she said officials began
- 13:27Speaker 1: clamoring to ensure she received her diploma. Man, they really
- 13:31Speaker 1: take that no child left behind, you know, to the
- 13:35Speaker 1: next level. She and her family are now suing the
- 13:38Speaker 1: school district for negligence, as well as her special education
- 13:41Speaker 1: case manager for negligent infliction of emotional distress. Well, there's
- 13:44Speaker 1: always that, she says. I'm a very passionate person and
- 13:47Speaker 1: I like to learn. Call me crazy, But if you're
- 13:54Speaker 1: a passionate person and you like to learn, and you
- 13:56Speaker 1: graduate high school without knowing how to re or write,
- 14:01Speaker 1: I think a little bit of personal accountability is in
- 14:04Speaker 1: store for you, okay, because you are in the one
- 14:08Speaker 1: place where learning is welcomed. Okay, just saying sometimes you
- 14:20Speaker 1: have to want to learn. The learning cannot be forced
- 14:23Speaker 1: upon you.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Okay.
- 14:29Speaker 1: She says, people took that opportunity away for me to learn,
- 14:32Speaker 1: and now I'm in college and I want to take
- 14:34Speaker 1: advantage of that because this is my education. But she
- 14:36Speaker 1: can't read or write, so she says she's failing college.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Oh that'll do it. Yeah, that'll that'll get the job done.
- 14:47Speaker 1: It really does. At a certain point when you're in class,
- 14:49Speaker 1: if you don't understand something, there really does need to
- 14:52Speaker 1: be some personal responsibility. You need to raise your hand
- 14:54Speaker 1: and say I don't get it. Yes, now, if you
- 14:59Speaker 1: say that you would teach, you're a bunch of times
- 15:00Speaker 1: in a row. It's going to be very annoying. But
- 15:03Speaker 1: you need to press them on the issue.
- 15:05Speaker 4: Yeah, but I think there might be a little, you know,
- 15:08Speaker 4: embarrassment behind it.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Maybe that's why nothing was said.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Like I remember, years and years and years ago, Dexter Manley,
- 15:15Speaker 4: who used to play for the Commanders.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Now I guess Washington.
- 15:21Speaker 4: He was presented an award and they asked him to
- 15:23Speaker 4: read the inscription and he couldn't read it right.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Whoops. So I mean and he was I.
- 15:33Speaker 5: Mean their football legend. Yeah, there were plenty of especially
- 15:37Speaker 5: athletes going back eighties, nineties, early two thousands that they
- 15:45Speaker 5: didn't crack a book in high school or college. And
- 15:49Speaker 5: uh so yeah, I mean that's it's sad.
- 15:51Speaker 4: But but it's like Charles Barkley is famous for, I
- 15:55Speaker 4: didn't come to Auburn to go to school.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Came to Auburn to play basketball.
- 16:01Speaker 4: And who's said I didn't go to i host Ohio
- 16:05Speaker 4: State to play school.
- 16:10Speaker 1: It's very difficult for a lot of us when people
- 16:12Speaker 1: say they're quiet, part out loud. Yes, because there was
- 16:16Speaker 1: at my high school, there was a bit of a controversy.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Mm.
- 16:21Speaker 1: That surprised none of us on the football team because
- 16:24Speaker 1: there was a there was an outstanding athlete at our
- 16:28Speaker 1: school when I was a sophomore, he was a senior.
- 16:32Speaker 2: He was an.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Amazing athlete, and we were all pretty surprised that let me,
- 16:41Speaker 1: let me start this over. We weren't surprised that he
- 16:45Speaker 1: had a bunch of scholarship offers. We were surprised that
- 16:50Speaker 1: his s a T score was high enough to get
- 16:53Speaker 1: into some of them like Baylor. Wow, because a lot
- 16:58Speaker 1: of schools, even tho they may offer an athletic scholarship,
- 17:02Speaker 1: still have those minimum requirements that you have to pass
- 17:06Speaker 1: to even be able to accept an athletic scholarship. I
- 17:11Speaker 1: don't know what the threshold was at the time for Baylor,
- 17:15Speaker 1: but whatever it was, we were shocked that he had
- 17:18Speaker 1: tested above it.
- 17:20Speaker 5: Well, there was always a minimum of a seven hundred
- 17:22Speaker 5: on the SAT for college admission.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Baylor was no different, and.
- 17:27Speaker 1: We were all surprised that he hit more than that.
- 17:30Speaker 5: You get like five point fifty for you getting your
- 17:32Speaker 5: name right or something.
- 17:33Speaker 1: We were all surprised that he even got that right.
- 17:37Speaker 1: So when the news broke that someone was busted taking
- 17:41Speaker 1: the test for him, after the fact, none of us
- 17:44Speaker 1: were surprised. Everyone in the locker room goes knew it.
- 17:52Speaker 1: We knew that that out.

- 19:29Speaker 1: Proud new sponsor of the Treehouse Show, I'm Daniel Malley,
- 19:31Speaker 1: along with Trade Trenholm and Raj Sharma. There's been lots
- 19:36Speaker 1: of strife between the United States and Canada lately. And
- 19:40Speaker 1: we're not going to get into that specifically, but we
- 19:42Speaker 1: are going to get into something very specific about Canada
- 19:45Speaker 1: and its eye surgeons that is very troubling. We have
- 19:51Speaker 1: trade a thing for this story. By the way, I
- 19:52Speaker 1: just want that said. Hang on, I just lost my note.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Where did it go?
- 20:01Speaker 2: Hang on? There?
- 20:02Speaker 1: It is from that that doesn't go their files. Canadian
- 20:06Speaker 1: surgeons have implanted teeth into eyes to restore sight.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Explain.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Please, Yeah, I knew there'd be some curiosity that came
- 20:20Speaker 1: with that headline. I'm going to do my best to
- 20:25Speaker 1: shed some light on this for you, ROJ. Last week,
- 20:31Speaker 1: Brent Chapman underwent one of Canada's first ever tooth in
- 20:35Speaker 1: eye surgeries. For the record, I'm pretty sure I did
- 20:39Speaker 1: that in kindergarten, but it wasn't because of a surgery.
- 20:42Speaker 1: It was because of an ill placed two by four anyway,
- 20:47Speaker 1: Brent Chapman underwent one of Canada's first ever tooth and
- 20:50Speaker 1: eye surgeries. While it might sound like something straight out
- 20:53Speaker 1: of science fiction, this jaw dropping procedure has been restoring
- 20:56Speaker 1: sight in other parts of the world for decades. Doctor
- 21:00Speaker 1: Greg Maloney, an ophthalmologist and surgeon at Mount Saint Joseph
- 21:03Speaker 1: Hospital in Vancouver told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation it is
- 21:07Speaker 1: a rare operation that most people haven't heard of, even
- 21:11Speaker 1: if you are an eye surgeon. H It's called osteo
- 21:16Speaker 1: odonto karatoprothesis, also known as O. This uses a patient's
- 21:25Speaker 1: own tooth to craft a support structure for an artificial cornea.
- 21:30Speaker 1: The operation is broken down into two parts. First, the themologist,
- 21:33Speaker 1: doctor Maloney, and his team removed one of Chapman's teeth,
- 21:36Speaker 1: shaved it down into a rectangle, drilled a hole, and
- 21:39Speaker 1: popped a plastic optical lens in the side of it.
- 21:43Speaker 1: The tooth then got a temporary home in his cheek,
- 21:46Speaker 1: where it's going to stay for about three months. There's
- 21:53Speaker 1: some really really weird going on north of the border.
- 22:03Speaker 1: The tooth what is it rush?
- 22:05Speaker 3: See, that's what you get for free health care. You
- 22:07Speaker 3: get a tooth in your eye.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Yeah well yeah, but before it goes in your eye,
- 22:11Speaker 1: it's going to live in your cheek.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Yeah three months, okay.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Doctor Maloney says the tooth doesn't have any connective tissue
- 22:18Speaker 1: that I can actually pass a suture through to connect
- 22:21Speaker 1: it to the eyeball, so the point of implanting it
- 22:23Speaker 1: for three months in the cheek is for it to
- 22:26Speaker 1: gain the layer of supporting tissue. During the same procedure,
- 22:28Speaker 1: Doctor Maloney prepared the eye by removing the top layer
- 22:31Speaker 1: of the eye surface and replacing it with a soft
- 22:33Speaker 1: tissue grapt from inside Chapman's cheek. He's just opening up
- 22:36Speaker 1: this dude's whole head. God, it's sort of like when
- 22:41Speaker 1: they open up the Alien bios suit an Independence Day.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Just you're gonna find out this guy's not a doctor.
- 22:55Speaker 1: On his business card, that doctor is in quotations.
- 23:00Speaker 3: No no license to practice any of this.
- 23:03Speaker 1: He's not a Canadian doctor. He's just a guy that
- 23:05Speaker 1: says he's a doctor and happens to be in Canada.
- 23:12Speaker 2: The U.
- 23:13Speaker 1: He says the graft needs. Doctor Maloney says the graft
- 23:15Speaker 1: needs a few months to heal so it can support
- 23:18Speaker 1: the implant. Doctor Maloney he said the initial procedure went
- 23:23Speaker 1: smoothly and the patient will be monitored closely over the
- 23:26Speaker 1: next few months. When it's time for the second surgery,
- 23:29Speaker 1: the patient's tooth will be removed from his cheek and
- 23:31Speaker 1: then placed into his eyeball. Then his team pulled back
- 23:35Speaker 1: the graft, remove the damaged iris and lens, so the
- 23:37Speaker 1: tooth with its new optical lens into the eye. The
- 23:40Speaker 1: graft is then resown over the eye, leaving a small
- 23:44Speaker 1: hole for the lens to peek through.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Wow.
- 23:49Speaker 1: The end result is a pink eye with a small
- 23:52Speaker 1: black circle through which Chapman will hopefully be able to
- 23:55Speaker 1: finally see again. So there you have it.
- 23:59Speaker 3: That's a lot lot. That's a lot to want to see.
- 24:07Speaker 4: If that's the option. Like, Hey, we're gonna take a tooth,
- 24:09Speaker 4: put it in your cheek. Three months later you might
- 24:12Speaker 4: be able to see through this. I'm like, you know what,
- 24:13Speaker 4: I'll stick with blind.
- 24:16Speaker 2: It's easy.
- 24:17Speaker 3: Just sounds like a lot of work.
- 24:20Speaker 1: It's easier to get chicks when you know when you're
- 24:23Speaker 1: blind versus when you have a bicuspid sticking out of
- 24:26Speaker 1: your eye or heaven forbid, a moler in your cheek
- 24:31Speaker 1: on your cheek, I should say.
- 24:37Speaker 4: Yeah, that's just it just sounds like a fake, Like
- 24:40Speaker 4: it just sounds like a scam. Like we know we're
- 24:42Speaker 4: gonna give you your vision back, but you.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Know what does butt lift surgery is real? Why not tooth?
- 24:48Speaker 1: And I do cure blindness.
- 24:53Speaker 3: That's I don't have an argument for that.
- 24:55Speaker 4: I know you can't Brazilian butt lift tooth in your eye.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Okay, uh, experts you can. The doctor does say, don't
- 25:07Speaker 1: get too excited just yet. The procedure is not risk free,
- 25:10Speaker 1: he says, with any ocular surgery of any kind, it's
- 25:13Speaker 1: a chance that we could introduce infection and lose all
- 25:16Speaker 1: of our vision along with that one tooth.
- 25:21Speaker 4: You're still blind and you're toothless. Now let insult to injury.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Again.
- 25:31Speaker 1: You're right, rog that's what you get with that free healthcare.

- 26:29Speaker 1: Treehouse on Air. I'm Danil Malley along with Trey Trenholm
- 26:32Speaker 1: and Rod Sharmer. We were just talking about the Canadian
- 26:35Speaker 1: surgeon who took a blind man's tooth, put a visual
- 26:40Speaker 1: apparatus in it, stuck it in his cheek to ferment
- 26:45Speaker 1: basically for three months, and then is going to stick
- 26:47Speaker 1: it in the guy's eye, thus reportedly curing his blindness.
- 26:55Speaker 1: If I were in that patient's shoes, after the doctor
- 26:58Speaker 1: described the procedure to restore my sight by putting a
- 27:02Speaker 1: lens into one of my teeth, taking the tooth out
- 27:05Speaker 1: of my head, putting a lens in it, and then
- 27:07Speaker 1: grafting it to my face for three months, and then
- 27:09Speaker 1: after three months, sticking it in my eye, my only
- 27:13Speaker 1: question would be, can't I just get a dog?
- 27:19Speaker 3: How's the other eye?
- 27:23Speaker 1: There's something to be said about that patch, but yeah,
- 27:27Speaker 1: I mean, after hearing that surgery description, can I just
- 27:31Speaker 1: get to see an eye dog?
- 27:33Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 27:34Speaker 4: I would just also be like, can I I have
- 27:36Speaker 4: one eye?
- 27:37Speaker 3: I'm okay, I don't have deut perception, but it's okay.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Face.
- 27:44Speaker 4: Yeah, anyway, just weird to me.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Are you guys, uh, Trey Raj, are you guys big
- 27:55Speaker 1: on forgiveness? Do you believe in forgiveness.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Depends.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Okay, Well, one woman believes in forgiveness very fiercely. A
- 28:11Speaker 1: woman not only forgave the man who ran her over
- 28:13Speaker 1: with his car, but she also married him.
- 28:19Speaker 3: That's love, is it.
- 28:28Speaker 1: A twenty three year old Chinese woman was hit by
- 28:31Speaker 1: a speeding car driven by a thirty six year old
- 28:34Speaker 1: man named Lee in the Hunan province. Despite breaking her collarbone,
- 28:39Speaker 1: she forgave him and her family chose not to press charges.
- 28:44Speaker 1: The man visited her daily in the hospital and they
- 28:47Speaker 1: grew very close. Three weeks later, she confessed her love
- 28:52Speaker 1: for him. He actually initially declined her advances because he
- 28:58Speaker 1: was worried about their age gap. He's thirty six, she's
- 29:02Speaker 1: twenty three. But he eventually acquiesced and they eventually married. Look,
- 29:13Speaker 1: I know the Hallmark channel gets a lot of flak
- 29:16Speaker 1: for its films, but I don't know if I've seen
- 29:19Speaker 1: one where the driver runs over the bride to be.
- 29:26Speaker 1: There is a new movie though, that's based on this
- 29:29Speaker 1: exact scenario. It stars Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh, and
- 29:34Speaker 1: the difference is she runs over him. Okay, And I'm
- 29:41Speaker 1: now wondering, is that where they got the idea for
- 29:43Speaker 1: the film is from this Chinese couple. Thirty six year
- 29:47Speaker 1: old guy runs over this chick. She's in the hospital
- 29:50Speaker 1: for weeks, and because he visits every day, she eventually
- 29:53Speaker 1: falls in love with him, and now they're married.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Oh.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Twenty three and likes it rough.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Thirty six with an extended warranty.
- 30:08Speaker 1: I like, how you guys are picking up what I'm
- 30:09Speaker 1: throwing down, because we're about to say some really shameful
- 30:13Speaker 1: things in here about this story, not the least of
- 30:17Speaker 1: which is clearly they met by accident.
- 30:21Speaker 3: Oh oh, was so bad? It was good.
- 30:26Speaker 1: You could say he really swept her off her feet.
- 30:33Speaker 1: She fell head over heels. Dude, you're supposed to hit
- 30:40Speaker 1: on her. And finally he appears to have sideswiped right.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I like, how, Raj, you're backing away from your microphone
- 30:54Speaker 1: as if you want to disassociate from the program and
- 30:57Speaker 1: trade shaking his head, going a negative judge, thinking I
- 31:00Speaker 1: could be reading stories about the Pope, the Black Pope,
- 31:10Speaker 1: all right, in all fairness, that's where I want to
- 31:11Speaker 1: be now to.

- 32:01Speaker 1: I was just thinking a little bit more about that
- 32:03Speaker 1: story out of China where the young woman was run
- 32:06Speaker 1: over by a guy. I got lost in my prepositions.
- 32:12Speaker 1: I was just thinking about the story in China where
- 32:14Speaker 1: a guy ran over a woman and not only did
- 32:16Speaker 1: she forgive him, but now they're married. And I couldn't
- 32:20Speaker 1: help but think if that same situation happened in Texas,
- 32:24Speaker 1: would it be any different? Would they still fall in love?
- 32:27Speaker 1: Would they still get married? Would Jim Adler officiate the wedding?
- 32:34Speaker 2: Are you in love?
- 32:39Speaker 1: Call me Jim Adler the Texas love Hammer. I put
- 32:45Speaker 1: a husband in your pocket.
- 32:49Speaker 3: The hammer. I like that. That's what I'm gonna call
- 32:57Speaker 3: it from now on.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Love Hammer all right. Today is Wednesday, March fifth, twenty
- 33:07Speaker 1: twenty five, let's celebrate with some birthdays. Madison Beer turns
- 33:13Speaker 1: twenty five. How is that a real name? I guess.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Madison Beer is a singer. She's got singles on her
- 33:21Speaker 1: debut album, good In Goodbye, also Selfish, and she's got
- 33:26Speaker 1: a song that apparently a number of people know called
- 33:28Speaker 1: Hurts Like Hell. The name is Madison Beer b E
- 33:32Speaker 1: E R. And she is twenty five today. Okay, as
- 33:38Speaker 1: country music just completely leaned into everything, like, is the
- 33:45Speaker 1: next hot singer gonna be hey bail.
- 33:50Speaker 4: With Madison Beer. I didn't know she was country. I
- 33:57Speaker 4: didn't even I don't know who that is.
- 33:58Speaker 1: I don't either. I'm just I mean she's country.
- 34:01Speaker 4: Yeah, that's just where I'm old now twenty five.
- 34:06Speaker 3: She has no credibility in my eyes if.
- 34:10Speaker 1: You don't know enough to sing about. Yeah, turning thirty
- 34:15Speaker 1: five today is that?
- 34:17Speaker 2: Thirty five?
- 34:18Speaker 1: No, I'm sorry. Thirty six Turning thirty six today is
- 34:22Speaker 1: Jake Lloyd. He's the poor kid that played Anakin Skywalker
- 34:25Speaker 1: in Star Wars The Phantom Menace and Man that movie
- 34:29Speaker 1: and the fallout from it him up. He's just now
- 34:33Speaker 1: coming out of that darkness. Wow.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Okay, so he just didn't get cast in anything else
- 34:38Speaker 3: after that.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Ooh, you know why? He was terrible? Oh okay, And
- 34:42Speaker 1: I feel bad saying that. Go back and watch the movie.
- 34:45Speaker 1: He was terrible. Now, let's keep in mind it was
- 34:47Speaker 1: probably not his fault. First of all, the writing was
- 34:50Speaker 1: very poor. That's George Lucas's fault. Also, George Lucas directed it,
- 34:54Speaker 1: and that's also kind of his fault, not Jake Lloyd's fault.
- 34:58Speaker 1: He's a cute kid. You're just very stiff as an actor.
- 35:03Speaker 5: The Phantom Menace, especially after the last three Star Wars movies,
- 35:07Speaker 5: is not that bad.
- 35:12Speaker 2: When the last time you watched.
- 35:13Speaker 1: It it's been a minute. Usually, when I go back
- 35:15Speaker 1: and watch The Phantom Menace, I'm doing what most Star
- 35:18Speaker 1: Wars nerds do. We just watched the last fifteen to
- 35:20Speaker 1: twenty minutes and just get our lightsaber bonus and go
- 35:23Speaker 1: on about our days.
- 35:27Speaker 2: It was unfair. It was unfairly.
- 35:31Speaker 5: Harshly criticized because it was the first one after the
- 35:35Speaker 5: original three.
- 35:40Speaker 3: I never saw it.
- 35:41Speaker 2: I just yeah, I'm I hated it.
- 35:47Speaker 5: I hated it at first as well, but then over
- 35:50Speaker 5: time and as bad as the last three were, gave
- 35:55Speaker 5: me new perspective.
- 35:56Speaker 2: It is not a bad movie, all right.
- 35:58Speaker 1: I'm going to throw two words at you.
- 36:01Speaker 2: You can not even that bad of a character.
- 36:05Speaker 5: Jar Jar.
- 36:05Speaker 2: It's slightly annoying, but there have been far worse.
- 36:12Speaker 1: The Trade Federation guys who had the stereotypical Asian accents
- 36:21Speaker 1: was not well received at that time. I don't know,
- 36:24Speaker 1: you may be honest. Something I will say, like when
- 36:26Speaker 1: you the three recent Star Wars movies take taken as
- 36:30Speaker 1: a whole, all three of them. There is an argument
- 36:35Speaker 1: as to which trilogy is worse, the Newest trilogy or
- 36:40Speaker 1: the middle trilogy. Everyone should agree across the board. The
- 36:43Speaker 1: original trilogy is is the tops right, But the Phantom
- 36:48Speaker 1: Menace and then the awkward love story of the second
- 36:51Speaker 1: one between Padma and Anakin was just weird and dumb.
- 36:54Speaker 1: You could tell George Lucas and rarely been with a
- 36:57Speaker 1: girl the way he wrote that romance stuff.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Well remember those they were based on books that were
- 37:07Speaker 2: already written.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 37:13Speaker 2: I'm just just saying.
- 37:18Speaker 1: It doesn't excuse go back and watch that second one
- 37:21Speaker 1: where it's Anak in the field. I have I swear
- 37:26Speaker 1: to God, I think you can see. Uh. Natalie Portman's
- 37:29Speaker 1: soul leave her body in those scenes, because I mean,
- 37:33Speaker 1: she is such a better actress than that.
- 37:37Speaker 5: I'm not saying there weren't bad parts, but now, what're
- 37:39Speaker 5: you're talking about?
- 37:39Speaker 2: The second one? And yes, like Anakin was a pussy.
- 37:43Speaker 5: But but as a whole, especially the Phantom Menace was
- 37:50Speaker 5: really unfairly judged because it was the first movie after
- 37:54Speaker 5: the original three, and especially as you watch the crap
- 37:58Speaker 5: of the last three, and to me there it's not
- 38:01Speaker 5: even close on the trilogies of which one is the
- 38:03Speaker 5: bad one. Like, there's the original three that we grew
- 38:07Speaker 5: up on, there's one, two, and three, which I'll give
- 38:11Speaker 5: on a scale of one to ten a six and
- 38:13Speaker 5: a half. I'll give the first three and nine six
- 38:16Speaker 5: and a half, then the last three a three.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Yeah, after the most recent trilogy, I'm surprised George Lucas
- 38:24Speaker 1: didn't come out of the hedge he's been hiding in
- 38:26Speaker 1: and go you miss me.
- 38:30Speaker 4: I'm just so glad that I'm not the nerd in
- 38:33Speaker 4: this conversation.
- 38:34Speaker 3: This is so fascinating to watch.
- 38:36Speaker 1: You're the nerd and the rest of the conversations though,
- 38:39Speaker 1: so yeah, you better enjoy this.

- 39:43Speaker 1: when I saw this on YouTube the other day and Trey,
- 39:47Speaker 1: I immediately thought of you. So I'm excited to see.
- 39:52Speaker 5: You, know, you setting yourself up for a strap on
- 39:55Speaker 5: joke and then man, you killed it when you said
- 39:57Speaker 5: you thought of me.
- 39:59Speaker 2: I'm learning.
- 40:01Speaker 1: I'm learning. I'm learning how to block and defend both
- 40:06Speaker 1: in the bedroom and in the treehouse.
- 40:10Speaker 3: No.
- 40:11Speaker 1: I saw a video recently and I thought of you, Trey,
- 40:14Speaker 1: and I thought you know what, Trey would really appreciate this,
- 40:17Speaker 1: because Trey, you're a single guy, and I know that
- 40:20Speaker 1: you don't go out much on the prow looking for women,
- 40:23Speaker 1: looking for dates. So I want to do my part
- 40:26Speaker 1: as your matchmaker here inside the treehouse. Okay, I'm going
- 40:30Speaker 1: to show you a video of a young woman and
- 40:35Speaker 1: there's the account that posted this. As a photographer, he'll
- 40:39Speaker 1: take photos of people and then print them out and
- 40:42Speaker 1: then give them to them. It's very sweet, very wholesome
- 40:48Speaker 1: until you see this, and I mean, it is sweet
- 40:50Speaker 1: and wholesome, but I think you know, there's I think
- 40:53Speaker 1: there's an opportunity here for you, Trey. All right, so
- 40:56Speaker 1: here we go. This is a guy taking a photo
- 40:59Speaker 1: of some onto then giving the photo to the person
- 41:03Speaker 1: at an airport in Czechoslovakia. So he's taken a photo
- 41:11Speaker 1: of a Czechoslovakian police officer holding a machine gun inside
- 41:14Speaker 1: the airport. He takes her photo, she smiles, and then
- 41:19Speaker 1: he leaves and prints the photo and he comes back
- 41:22Speaker 1: to the airport to give her the photo. Hey, ma'am,
- 41:32Speaker 1: here's your photo. Oh so, Trey, what do you think
- 41:44Speaker 1: about the Czechoslovakian police officer at the airport. That is
- 41:50Speaker 1: that your kind of woman? She looks to be I
- 41:52Speaker 1: don't want to say petit. I don't know how tall
- 41:54Speaker 1: she is. I mean she's probably like five five, let's
- 41:56Speaker 1: say five six.
- 41:59Speaker 2: She's hot. She carries a.
- 42:01Speaker 5: We'll see you, say see, we're going to check on Sabakia.
- 42:07Speaker 11: Get a rest, Trey, come back. I'm going to where
- 42:16Speaker 11: are you going? Where are you going?
- 42:18Speaker 3: I'm gonna be his accomplice.
- 42:23Speaker 1: All right, we'll call me when you guys get there. Crap,
