- 0:00Speaker 1: Thanks Mike Lane after that for two loss in Calgary today,
- 0:04Speaker 1: So go saying that you weren't too happy with the performance.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Just take us back through that game and were you
- 0:09Speaker 1: thought the differences were between the loss against Colorado at
- 0:12Speaker 1: home and then against Calgary two days later.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I thought we played much faster and much more direct
- 0:18Speaker 2: against Colorado than we did against Calgary. You know, we
- 0:24Speaker 2: were too slow to move pucks at times, stud for zone.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I didn't establish the same for check pressure that we
- 0:30Speaker 2: had against Colorado. So, you know, it's getting back to
- 0:36Speaker 2: a consistent mindset that we have to attack him beyond
- 0:40Speaker 2: our toes and force teams into you know, making mistakes,
- 0:43Speaker 2: which we did against Colorado.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Is there something you can point to, particularly about the
- 0:47Speaker 1: style of both opponents that caused the Kraken to play
- 0:50Speaker 1: a little differently between Colorado and Calgary.
- 0:53Speaker 2: No, I don't think so. I think it was just
- 0:55Speaker 2: more on us than anything. You know, we have to
- 0:59Speaker 2: be uh prepared to do the same things over and
- 1:02Speaker 2: over again on a consistent basis, and that's where we're
- 1:06Speaker 2: you know, having trouble right now. And that's what happens
- 1:10Speaker 2: when you get into a situation where you haven't won
- 1:12Speaker 2: many games. Is Uh, there's a reason for it. Inconsistency
- 1:16Speaker 2: is one of them.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Seattle trading Mason Marshmoth to Columbus yesterday ahead of the
- 1:20Speaker 1: holiday Uh freeze. When you lose a player from the
- 1:23Speaker 1: locker room, what type of effect if any, do you
- 1:25Speaker 1: feel that can have on on the guys in the room.
- 1:27Speaker 1: And then also what about that makes that next man
- 1:31Speaker 1: up mentality so important? Like you guys have been had
- 1:33Speaker 1: to embrace all season long.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Well, yeah, no, it's just a matter of you know,
- 1:39Speaker 2: we've we've had to do that all year long. We've
- 1:42Speaker 2: had to, you know, go through guys getting injured. We
- 1:46Speaker 2: still have guys getting injured. You know. We made this
- 1:49Speaker 2: decision for you know, for our hockey team, for you know,
- 1:53Speaker 2: for future and and we'll see where it goes from here.
- 1:55Speaker 2: But certainly every player on this team has a up
- 2:00Speaker 2: to do tonight when they come to the building. They're
- 2:02Speaker 2: all professionals, so there shouldn't really be any.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Effect looking at that next man mentality. At least based
- 2:06Speaker 1: off Land Rushes this morning, it looks like Coppolcaco will
- 2:09Speaker 1: have an opportunity up on that top line spot. He
- 2:11Speaker 1: had a goal last time out against Calgary. How have
- 2:14Speaker 1: you liked his game in recent games and what are
- 2:18Speaker 1: you looking for from him tonight?
- 2:19Speaker 2: Well, I think it's coming around again. I've talked about
- 2:22Speaker 2: the fact that he's been injured, you know, training camp
- 2:25Speaker 2: and then came back and got injured right away again.
- 2:28Speaker 2: So he's kind of, you know, he's trying to catch
- 2:30Speaker 2: the moving train, so to speak. I think he's catching
- 2:33Speaker 2: it a little better now. This is a good opportunity.
- 2:35Speaker 2: He's had some success in the past playing with Maddie Beneers,
- 2:38Speaker 2: so I think, you know, I'm looking forward to seeing
- 2:41Speaker 2: him playing up there.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Seven game point streak for Chandler Stevenson. He's a leader
- 2:45Speaker 1: on this team, both on the ice and in the
- 2:47Speaker 1: locker room. What have you liked about his game the
- 2:49Speaker 1: last week and a half.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Well, I think he's been fairly direct with his game,
- 2:54Speaker 2: which we need Chandler to be. You know, he's got
- 2:58Speaker 2: tremendous speed and power. He's so smooth that sometimes you
- 3:01Speaker 2: don't really realize he's moving at that speed. But certainly
- 3:07Speaker 2: I think he's been using that speed to his advantage
- 3:10Speaker 2: and to our advantage. And you know, he continues to
- 3:12Speaker 2: play against other team's top lines. He continues to get
- 3:15Speaker 2: the toughest matchups, you know, so good on him for
- 3:17Speaker 2: having a seven game point street.
- 3:19Speaker 1: You've seen San Jose twice this season. You know they're fast,
- 3:22Speaker 1: and they're skilled, and they have a lot of star power,
- 3:25Speaker 1: a lot of firepower on that roster. What are you
- 3:27Speaker 1: expecting out of them here tonight in this season finale
- 3:30Speaker 1: and what do you want to see from your group
- 3:32Speaker 1: to help Negate? A lot of what they can offer.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Well, we've got to play our game and so we've
- 3:36Speaker 2: got to be solid defensively. But we can help Negate,
- 3:40Speaker 2: you know, their offensive power by playing in the offensives
- 3:42Speaker 2: on ourselves, you know, putting pressure on them to defend.
- 3:46Speaker 2: That's one way to do it. So we're looking to
- 3:48Speaker 2: plan our toes and attack. But I will say this,
- 3:51Speaker 2: this team is on puck's San Jose. You don't have
- 3:54Speaker 2: a lot of time and space. Our team has to
- 3:57Speaker 2: be prepared to do things quickly with the puck when
- 4:02Speaker 2: we get the puck, not only in our zone, but
- 4:03Speaker 2: in the neutral zone and in the offensive zone. They're
- 4:06Speaker 2: a fast team, that's what uh uh and they and
- 4:10Speaker 2: they do things quickly and that's what makes them, dangerous,
