Thursday, 23 May 2024 Then they were all encouraged, and also took food themselves. Acts 27:36 The Greek is less wordy than the NKJV, “And having been encouraged, they all also took food” (CG). Paul just broke the bread, blessed it, and began to eat. Now, after hearing his words and seeing his confidence, it next says, “And having been encouraged.” The word translated as encouraged, euthumos, is used for the second and last time.
