- 0:25printed material From Billboard. We'll begin with the first article
- 0:29dated May seventeenth. We want to give you the winners.
- 0:33The lists of the twenty twenty six ACM Award winners.
- 0:37Ella Langley swept every prize she was nominated for at
- 0:40Sunday Nights twenty twenty six Academy of Country Music Awards,
- 0:44going seven for seven on the night, including Female Artists
- 0:47of the Year. The top prize of Entertainer of the
- 0:50Year went to Cody Johnson, who also won Male Artists
- 0:52of the Year earlier in the evening. The ACM Awards
- 0:55were back in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden
- 0:58Arena after the last three years at Ford Center at
- 1:01the Star in Frisco, Texas. They also had a brand
- 1:04new host in country superstar Shania Twain, who took over
- 1:08after repeat host Reba McIntyre the past two years, so
- 1:12let's take a look at all the winners. The Entertainer
- 1:14of the Year, as we said, was Cody Johnson. Female
- 1:17Artist of the Year, Ella Langley, Male Artist of the
- 1:20Year Cody Johnson. Group of the Year, The Red clay
- 1:23Strays Album of the Year went to Parker McCollum for
- 1:26Parker McCollum Song of the Year choosing Texas from Ella Langley.
- 1:31Single of the Year was also choosing Texas from Ella Langley.
- 1:34The Visual Media of the Year Cuckoo from Stephen Wilson,
- 1:38Music Event of the Year Don't Mind If I Do

- 1:44the Year Jesse Joe Dillon Artist Songwriter of the Year,
- 1:48Ella Langley, New Male Artist of the Year Tucker Wetmore
- 1:51and New Female Artist of the Year Avery Anna. Diving
- 1:56a little deeper, we move over to countryanow dot com
- 1:59with the first article dated May eighteenth, Cody Johnson dedicate's
- 2:03first ACM Entertainer of the Year win to Luke Combs.
- 2:07Cody Johnson had one of the biggest moments of the
- 2:09night of the twenty six Awards at the very end
- 2:12of Sunday Star Studied show. He took home the coveted
- 2:14Entertainer of the Year title. As we mentioned, while celebrating
- 2:17the milestone win, he surprised the crowd by dedicating the
- 2:20win to fellow nominee Luke Combs. The night mark Johnson's
- 2:24third time being nominated in the category and his first win.
- 2:28He was up against Combs, Megan Maroney, Lady Wilson, Chris Stapleton,
- 2:31Jelly Roll and Morgan Wallen. While he could have used
- 2:34his acceptance speech to thank so many people, he chose
- 2:37to call attention to one particular artist who he has
- 2:40personally watched to vote his entire life to country music.
- 2:43Johnson was a supporting act for Colmes in his twenty
- 2:46twenty three world tour. During that time, the artist jetted
- 2:50off to Australia for a string of shows, and while there,
- 2:53Colmbs unfortunately missed his wife Nicole giving birth to their
- 2:56second son, Bo. The next night, he got on stage
- 3:00and delivered a powerhouse show. Seeing that level of dedication
- 3:03left a lasting impact on Johnson, which is why he
- 3:06chose to dedicate his first ever Entertainer of the Year
- 3:09win to his fellow country star tonight, I want to
- 3:13dedicate this to somebody that you guys probably didn't expect
- 3:16me to dedicate this too. I was there the night
- 3:19in Australia when his wife gave birth to one of
- 3:21their sons, and I watched the anguish and I watched
- 3:24the defeat on his face for not being there because
- 3:26he was across the world playing music in his sold
- 3:29out arena, Johnson recalled. And the next night, right after it,
- 3:32I watched him get on stage and absolutely murder the
- 3:35stage and go on stage and play country music and
- 3:38preach the message of country music to a bunch of
- 3:40Australians across the world, he added. So tonight I want
- 3:44to dedicate my first Entertainer of the Year award to
- 3:46my buddy Luke Colmbs. I love you, brother, Thank you.
- 3:50Prior to this surprise dedication, viewers saw the Texas native
- 3:53become overwhelmed with emotion when he first heard his name
- 3:56called for the coveted trophy. As Johnson collected himself at
- 3:59the in front of a crowd filled with fans and
- 4:02fellow artists, he joked that he had prepared a speech
- 4:05but had already covered most of what he wanted to
- 4:07say earlier in the night while accepting Male Artists of
- 4:10the Year. I literally have no idea what I'm going
- 4:13to say, Johnson stated, Honestly, it turned out not knowing
- 4:17what to say may have resulted in something even better
- 4:20because it came directly from the heart. He went on
- 4:23to recall the days of his mom catching him as
- 4:25a child with a microphone duct taped to the side
- 4:27of a bunk bed in his room and a guitar
- 4:30with no strings, singing the Rick Terarino song Learning as
- 4:32You Go. His reason for sharing this glimpse into his
- 4:36life was to prove that all he ever wanted to
- 4:37be was to perform in front of a crowd, and
- 4:40now he's doing that on a greater scale than he
- 4:42ever dreamed of. And Johnson has not taken his platform
- 4:45for granted. He prides himself on promising positivity throughout his
- 4:49words and his music all over the world. I get
- 4:52used to I get to use my platform to not
- 4:55only promote positivity in this country and all over the world.
- 4:58I get to use it to make you excpt, experience
- 5:00emotions that I feel, whether we're crying, whether we're laughing,
- 5:03whether we're happy or sad. I get to convey that
- 5:06through this thing that God gave me called music. Johnson shared,
- 5:09it's the greatest drug that has ever been introduced on
- 5:12the planet Earth. While he's garnered so much success leading
- 5:15up to this moment, Johnson wanted to make it clear
- 5:17that at the end of the day he goes home,
- 5:19that artist hat comes off, so he is completely unplugged
- 5:22and present for his family. I just want you all
- 5:25to know that when I go home, I take my phone,
- 5:27I turn it face down. When I go home. I'm
- 5:28a husband, I'm a father, I'm a cattle rancher. So
- 5:31listen to all you fans out there in the top bowl,
- 5:34I turn you guys off. And as soon as I
- 5:35step on the jet, as soon as I step on
- 5:37the bus, all I look forward to is seeing you
- 5:40because I can't wait to see you on that stage
- 5:42so we can experience those motions together. The moving speech
- 5:46ended with his heartfelt dedication to Luke Colmbs. This was
- 5:49certainly a night to remember for Johnson. On top of
- 5:51winning both Mail of the Year and Entertainer of the Year,
- 5:55he took the stage to perform a stirring and patriotic
- 5:57rendition of Traveling Soldiers was also up for wins in
- 6:01the categories of Single of the Year and Visual Media
- 6:04of the Year, both for the fall. He set to
- 6:07return to the road with a weekend of shows on
- 6:09May twenty ninth at Grand Rapids, Michigan and May thirtieth
- 6:11in Rosemont, Illinois, followed by a trip to Nashville to
- 6:15perform at Nissan Stadium for CMA Fest On June fifth, next,
- 6:20Blake Shelton closes ACM Awards show with a show stopping
- 6:24tribute performance of The Gambler. The sixty first Academy of
- 6:28Music Country Awards came to a close with Blake Shelton
- 6:31delivering one of the most one of the night's most
- 6:33memorable moments, honoring beloved Nashville songwriter Don Schlitz, who passed
- 6:38away on April sixteenth at seventy three following a sudden illness.
- 6:42The tribute unfolded with an electrifying performance of Kenny Rodgers
- 6:46classic The Gambler, with Grammy winning song penned by Schlitz.
- 6:50As Shelton stepped on to the stage, the screen lit
- 6:53up with vibrant neon signs, perfectly capturing the energy of
- 6:57Las Vegas, while setting the tone for a powerful finale.
- 7:01Shelton came dressed for the moment as he took the
- 7:03stage and strummed his guitar, filling the entire arena with
- 7:06the iconic song. It was impossible for the fans and
- 7:09fellow artists not to get on their feet and sing
- 7:11along until every last note. Released on November fifteenth, nineteen
- 7:16seventy eight, is the title track to Roger's album of
- 7:18the same name. The song climbed its way to the
- 7:20top of country charts and also crossed over onto the
- 7:23pop charts. Following rehearsals at MGM Grand's Garden Arena in Vegas,
- 7:28Shelton had reflected on just how meaningful this song has
- 7:31been throughout his life. That particular song is like two
- 7:35legends come together and made one of the most important
- 7:37pieces of music and country music history. I would say
- 7:40it's in the top ten, at least in my top ten.
- 7:44Shelton previously recorded his own version of the Gambler in
- 7:46two thousand and six while working in the studio with
- 7:49renowned producer Bobby Braddock. Leading up to the ACM Awards,
- 7:53he also released a cover of the song exclusively on
- 7:56Amazon Music in honor of the performance. The Oklahoma native,
- 8:01who is currently in the midst of his Las Vegas residency,
- 8:03brought the night to a memorable close with a tribute
- 8:06that celebrated the lasting legacy of both Schlitz and Rogers.
- 8:11His residency will pick back up at the Coliseum at
- 8:13Caesar's Palace for the final shows on May twenty first
- 8:16and twenty fourth. Next, Laney Wilson and Devlin Hodges make
- 8:21ACM Awards Red carpet debut as newlyweds yep, She's married.
- 8:26Lany Wilson and Devlin Duck Hodges have officially stepped out
- 8:30on to their first red carpet as husband and wife.
- 8:33The couple arrived to the ACM Awards in style, just
- 8:36one week after tying the knot in their scenic Tennessee wedding.
- 8:40The Louisiana songstress ditched her signature bell bottoms for an
- 8:43elegant gown, orange fringe floor length gown that is with
- 8:47her hair cascading down her shoulders and lucy bouncy curls,
- 8:51while Hodges sported a dark gray suit with a gold
- 8:53bowlo tie and belt bucket, both of which cater to
- 8:56his nickname Duck, and of course, Wilson's best successory of all,
- 9:00her wedding ring, which she made sure to show off
- 9:03loud and proud on the red carpet. According to Vogue,
- 9:06the country music superstar and the former NFL players said
- 9:09I do at the Ruskin Cave in Dixon, Tennessee. The
- 9:13couple fell in love with the venue as soon as
- 9:15they came across it during a drive down the back roads.
- 9:19Duck said, you want to get married there? I said, Dundal,
- 9:22We've dropped by saw the venue. Fell in love with
- 9:24the natural beauty of the cave and the simplicity of
- 9:27the property. They rang in the new chapter of their
- 9:30lives together, surrounded by loved ones and several fellow country
- 9:33music stars like Luke Bryan, Ian Munsick, Laurna, Elena La Langley,
- 9:38Miranda Lambert, when owner Judd Ashland Kraft, Drew Baldridge, and
- 9:41Jelly Roll. This epic wedding ceremony took place a little
- 9:45over a year after Hodges proposed to Wilson on the
- 9:47doorstep of George Jones's renowned estate in Franklin, Tennessee, back
- 9:52in February of twenty twenty five. Their first love story
- 9:56began in twenty twenty one when they were set up
- 9:58on a blind date. The two had dinner in Nashville
- 10:01at Moby Dickie's and later ended up at the bar's Silverados.
- 10:05We've been pretty inseparable ever since, Wilson admitted. Now we
- 10:10march over to people dot Country dot com, where we
- 10:14have the headline. From May nineteenth, the Red Clay Strays
- 10:18said they almost died after their private jet malfunctions on
- 10:21the way to the ACMs. The Red Clay Strays had
- 10:25a rocky road getting to the twenty twenty six ACM Awards.
- 10:29The musicians said on the red carpet that they almost
- 10:32died while en route to the show after their private
- 10:34jets suffered technical difficulties. On Sunday, May seventeenth, the band
- 10:38was asked by Yahoo Entertainment what the most country thing
- 10:41they'd done that week was, and guitarist Zach Rischel was
- 10:45quick to answer, well, we almost died in that private jet.
- 10:48Part of our engine calling flew off during takeoff, he explained.
- 10:52Bassist Andrew Bishops said the jet circled above Mobile, Alabama
- 10:56for about two hours in order to lose enough fuel
- 10:58to land again and get the banned onto a different
- 11:01plane to Las Vegas. Drummer John Hall then showed a
- 11:04photo of the broken engine and emphasized that the issue
- 11:07happened in the air. It was terrifying. Hall, who's thirty three,
- 11:11said the Red Clay Strays one group of the Year
- 11:14at the ACMs, as we mentioned, and also performed Demons
- 11:17in Your Choir. The ACM's incident is not the first
- 11:20time the band has had trouble in the skies. In October,
- 11:23they shared video of extreme turbulence on a flight taking
- 11:26them to the Country Music festival in Salt Lake City.
- 11:30In the clip, which was shared to Instagram, the frightened
- 11:33band members held on tight as the plane shook due
- 11:35to extreme wins. At one point, Bishop played Leonard Skinnert
- 11:40song That Smell from his phone, equipping that if the
- 11:43plane was going to go down, I'm going down with Skinner.
- 11:47Leonard Skinner was famously involved in a nineteen seventy seven
- 11:50plane crash in Mississippi that killed six people, including band
- 11:53members Ronnie van Zant, Steve Gaines, and Cassie Gaines. Elsewhere
- 11:58in the video, band members can be heard saying they'll
- 12:00be drinking to that boys and that someone threw up
- 12:03to during the turbulence. Apparently we wait and over forty
- 12:06degree bank while trying to land in Salt Lake. Naturally,
- 12:09as we thought the plane was going down, I thought
- 12:12it was a good time to play some skinner. The
- 12:14group captured the post seriously though, very thankful to our
- 12:17pilots for their quick thinking and coolness under pressure. You
- 12:21all rock. Moving on, we head on over to Saving
- 12:25Country Music for news and of course some commentary as usual.
- 12:30First article dated May nineteenth, Nashville gets a super Bowl,
- 12:33but will country music finally get one? It was made
- 12:37official on Tuesday, the twenty thirty Super Bowl is coming
- 12:41to Nashville, Tennessee, a reward for the Tennessee Titans and
- 12:44Nashville constructing a new stadium in the city, and the
- 12:47implications of country music and how it interfaces with America's
- 12:51biggest annual media event could be significant. For decades now,
- 12:56a big story has been how the Super Bowl has
- 12:58ignored country music when it comes to its massive halftime performance,
- 13:02which has become just as big of a cultural event
- 13:05as the game itself. It's been thirty two years since
- 13:08country music was featured on the super Bowl halftime, you
- 13:11have to go all the way back to nineteen ninety
- 13:13four when Clint Blackton, Ya Tucker, Travis Tritt and the
- 13:16Judge performed. Since the super Bowl halftime became a big
- 13:19deal in nineteen ninety one, with new Kids on the
- 13:21Block taking the field, country music has really only been
- 13:25featured prominently once. Shenaia Twain appeared briefly with No Doubt
- 13:29in two thousand and three, but that was over twenty
- 13:31years ago. When you consider country as one of America's
- 13:35popular genres and arguably the most popular genre currently, this
- 13:39feels like a travesty, says saving country music. The barrier
- 13:43currently standing between a country artist playing the super Bowl
- 13:45halftime is the NFL's partnership with Jay Z's Rock Nation
- 13:50as their official live music entertainment strategists. This has put
- 13:54country music on the sidelines permanently like a third string quarterback,
- 13:58and relegated it to pregame performances. With the Super Bowl
- 14:02being announced for Nashville in twenty thirty, lots of people
- 14:05are assuming this will finally be the opportunity for country
- 14:08music to get its halftime show but folks shouldn't be
- 14:12so quick to assume that this is a lock for
- 14:13twenty thirty. While for the NFL and country music, waiting
- 14:17until twenty thirty might be too late. Ignoring country music
- 14:21in America's rural demographic arguably bit the super Bowl in
- 14:25the butt back in twenty twenty six, with TPUSA laugh
- 14:29and launching its alternative halftime show featuring country artists Lee Brice,
- 14:34Gabby Barrett, Branley, Gilbert, and headliner Kid Rock, who some
- 14:37associate with country and who concluded his portion of the
- 14:40show performing a Cody Johnson song. Though popular music critics
- 14:45panned the halftime ratings really didn't seem to suffer for
- 14:48the proper super Bowl performance with Bad Bunny, and the
- 14:51alternative halftime show featured B level country talent at best,
- 14:55it did present a problem for the NFL and for
- 14:58American culture while it did draw a significant amount of eyeballs.
- 15:03Though some continue to write off the importance of this stuff,
- 15:05we're still feeling the cultural reverberations of the alternative halftime
- 15:09show as it's become synonymous with country music and what
- 15:12is perceived to be a right wing cultural malaise. The
- 15:15genre is suffering through country music, says, Saving Country Music says.
- 15:20The NFL shouldn't wait until twenty thirty to feature country
- 15:23music during the halftime show. They should do it in
- 15:25twenty twenty seven. If they were business smart and savvy
- 15:29at all, this is the way they could undercut any
- 15:31alternative programming as TPUSA or whoever fields a bunch of
- 15:36B level stars once again. The super Bowl proper could
- 15:39feature Ella Langley with guest Morgan Wallener, Chris Stapleton and
- 15:42Louke Colmbs with appearances by Sierra Ferrell and Billy Strings.
- 15:47Would that ruin the opportunity for super Bowl to feature
- 15:49country music in twenty thirty in Nashville, Of course not.
- 15:53They could do both. Since it's been thirty two years
- 15:55since country's been featured on the halftime show, it would
- 15:58make sense to feature it in twenty seven, when the
- 16:01genre is as hot as ever and dominating the charts,
- 16:04and in twenty thirty, when it's held in Music City,
- 16:07with two years in between to feature other genres. But
- 16:11while some are taking it as a foregone conclusion the
- 16:13twenty thirty super Bowl will be with country music, this
- 16:17is far from certain. Super Bowl performance have rarely ever
- 16:20been geographically specific. Perhaps the branding and logos pregame and
- 16:24postgame festivities have leaned into representing whatever city the super
- 16:29Bowl is held in, but the halftime performances seem to
- 16:32be sequestered from these considerations. If anything, Given the NFL's
- 16:37track record, there's a good chance country music is not
- 16:39featured in twenty thirty, especially if Jay Z is still
- 16:42in charge. Or if country is featured in twenty thirty,
- 16:45it could be some terrible virtual signaling version of country
- 16:49that would be even worse than booking someone not country
- 16:51at all. Nothing can be taken for granted here, but
- 16:55what can't be ignored is that, as we speak, a
- 16:57country artist in the form of Ala Langley as the
- 17:00number one song in all of music for a historic
- 17:03tenth straight week. In choosing Texas, there's also a good
- 17:07chance it will be there well into the summer. Ella
- 17:10also has the number two song and be her and
- 17:13her album Dandelion is number two all genre country music
- 17:17ebbs and flows in popular culture. Who knows where it
- 17:20will be in twenty thirty. Right now, it's hotter than
- 17:23it's ever been. This isn't to say or rule out
- 17:25country Music for twenty thirty in lieu of twenty seven.
- 17:28It's to say that country music should be considered for
- 17:30the Super Bowl halftime show every year if there's an
- 17:34eligible moment and artist Bad Bunny was celebrated in twenty
- 17:37twenty six for putting his Puerto Rican culture of music
- 17:40and dance on display for the world during the Super
- 17:43Bowl halftime. What better time to feature country music and
- 17:46two stepping at the fifty yard line than this next year?
- 17:50And yes, these things do matter next despite requests, Treaty
- 17:56Oak Revival fans throw trash at Ryman stage. Treaty Oak
- 18:01Revival was in Nashville this weekend, playing a big show
- 18:04at the city's Bridgestone Arena, and then took a page
- 18:06out of the Billy Strings playbook and booked a more
- 18:09intimate show across the street at the mother church of
- 18:11country music, the Ryman Auditorium. The rock band has been
- 18:16strangely slatted into country music, perhaps because they're from Texas,
- 18:19but the Ryman hosts artists from all genres. It wasn't
- 18:23Treaty Oak's rock sound that had some worried when they
- 18:25were booked at the hollowed venue. It's how The band's
- 18:28fans are notorious for throwing beers, other drinks, water bottles,
- 18:32full trash barrels, and anything not nailed down at the
- 18:35stage during concerts, especially during their song Boomtown. The band
- 18:40has been criticized in the past for being permissive of
- 18:43this behavior, though after lead singer Sam Can'ty got yet
- 18:46hit yet again earlier this year and stormed off stage,
- 18:50his wife piped up requesting fans sling the liquid contents
- 18:53of their beverage over their heads before dropping the bottles
- 18:56to the ground. Still not exactly appropriate concert behavior. All
- 19:00of this led to their show on Sunday at the
- 19:02Country Music mother Church. Looking to not trash what country
- 19:06fans consider a sacred place, signs were posted throughout the
- 19:10concourse requesting fans not throw objects at the stage during
- 19:13the show. Behind the stage on the video screen, a
- 19:16similar request was displayed as fans filed into the show,
- 19:20but of course the requests were ignored. At least a
- 19:23portion of the Treatioach Revival audience did not respect the rymen,
- 19:26as can be seen in videos posted on Whiskey Riff.
- 19:30As some will observe, the scene wasn't as chaotic as
- 19:32what most treatioch Revival shows experienced during Boomtown, but it
- 19:36was still at disrespect of the rieman of Treatioak Revival
- 19:39and their requests. The rymans wodwork is quite literally a
- 19:42cultural heirloom and historic, as is the stage itself that
- 19:46had a circle cut out of it at stage center
- 19:49and transported to the grand old opry House east of
- 19:51downtown when the operaing moved from the Ryman in the
- 19:54nineteen seventies. It does not appear the wood stage itself
- 19:58was covered for the Treatiok Revival show. We want to
- 20:02thank you all, most of you all for coming to
- 20:03see us two nights in a row at Tennessee. Frontman
- 20:06Sam Canty said from the stage. We certainly do appreciate
- 20:09it from the bottom of our hearts. We were just
- 20:11a small band from West Texas just a few years ago.
- 20:14Now we're playing one of the best venues in all
- 20:16of country music, So thank you. Trety Oak Revival appeared
- 20:20to be truly grateful to play the legendary stage and
- 20:23did their part to ensure the audience behaved, but more
- 20:26than just a few of their fans refused to comply.
- 20:29Saving country music reached out to the Ryman Auditorium to
- 20:31see if they had any statement about the behavior. Those
- 20:34requests were not returned. Now we take a walk down
- 20:39to the boot dot com where Tyler Hubbard says Florida
- 20:43Georgia Line might play a handful of shows in twenty
- 20:46twenty seven. This article dated May eighteenth looks like Florida
- 20:50Georgia Line fans might finally get the reunion that they've
- 20:53been eagerly waiting for in twenty twenty seven. On the
- 20:56Red carpet at the twenty twenty six ACM Awards, former
- 20:59fga Els Tyler Hubbard told Entertainment Tonight that he and
- 21:03Brian Kelly are seriously considering the possibility of playing a
- 21:06handful of shows next year. We've been toying around and
- 21:09flirting with the idea of playing a handful of shows
- 21:12next year, and that gets us both excited. Hubbard reveals.
- 21:16Hubbard definitely made it seem like a strong possibility, but
- 21:18he also reminded fans to be patient. Hubbard and Kelly
- 21:22parted ways on a seemingly turbulent note when the band
- 21:25broke up back in twenty twenty one, but over the
- 21:28past few months, they've started slowly reconnecting and getting to
- 21:31know each other again as friends. They both stressed that
- 21:35reconnecting was more about rebuilding their personal bond than it
- 21:39was about reviving FGL. It's been a really fun season
- 21:43of healing. We've been hanging out, laughing, cutting up, goofing around.
- 21:47It just feels like the old days, Hubbard said in
- 21:49his ACM Awards interview. We're just trying to soak it up,
- 21:53make the most of it, not rush anything at this point.
- 21:56Hubbard says they've got no plans to put out new
- 21:58music as a duo, but that could change too. It
- 22:01hasn't gotten there yet, he explains, I'm too busy working
- 22:04on my solo stuff at the moment. But in the
- 22:07meantime and on stage, reunion seems more plausible. The idea
- 22:11of playing shows together sounds like a lot of fun,
- 22:13and we're just trying to keep it low stress and
- 22:16nothing but a good time, Hubbard adds. Florida Joji Aline,
- 22:20of course, shot to start them in twenty twelve, and
- 22:22by the time they released their fourth album twenty nineteens
- 22:25can't say I ain't country. The country music world was
- 22:28their oyster, but by the time their fifth album, Life
- 22:32Rolls On came out in twenty twenty one, they'd fizzled.
- 22:35At the time, they said they both planned to pursue
- 22:37solo projects and didn't elaborate further on that, but a
- 22:41series of interviews and statements in the years ahead would
- 22:43reveal that the breakup was more complicated than they originally
- 22:46let on. Hubbard said in Busting with the Boys podcast
- 22:50appearance that Kelly brought up the idea of going solo
- 22:53and it caught him off guard. Kelly subsequently went on
- 22:57the same podcast to say that the conversation about pursuit
- 23:00doing solo projects was one that had been in the
- 23:02works for years. The twenty twenty COVID nineteen pandemic also
- 23:06proved trying to fgl's friendship, and the bandmates have said
- 23:11that the rumor mill exaggerated the idea of political tensions
- 23:14between them. Hubbard and his wife temporarily unfollowed Kelly on
- 23:18social media that year, and Kelly acknowledged to Busting with
- 23:22the Boys that political issues were a factor, but said
- 23:25that was one piece of a larger falling out. They
- 23:29also both said they went to therapy to try and
- 23:31keep the band together, but they could never quite see
- 23:34eye to eye. The FGL bandmates never ruled out a reunion,
- 23:37but for a while it seemed pretty unlikely. But thanks
- 23:40to their willingness to build bridges, coupled with the support
- 23:43they felt from the fans, they've made big strides in
- 23:46the past five months. Hubbard says their friendship is continuing
- 23:50to grow. I'm literally leaving from Vegas and flying to
- 23:53the beach to hang out with him and his wife.
- 23:55Me and my wife are he said at the ACMs.
- 23:58He also said their reconnection has been really special and
- 24:01that fanned excitement about the possibility of a Flora Georgia
- 24:04line reunion. Is a mirror to how they feel about
- 24:07healing their bond. It's bigger than just us and bigger
- 24:10than the music. It's actually a story and a powerful
- 24:13testimony to grace and healing and forgiveness and all those things.
- 24:16Hubbard reflects. It feels like the world is feeling what
- 24:20we're feeling, and that feels good. Now. We move over
- 24:24to Countrycentral dot Com with the article. First article dated
- 24:28May nineteenth. Bailey Zimmerman to release the Climb cover this Friday.
- 24:33Bailey Zimmerman will release his cover of Miley Cyrus's The
- 24:36Climb on May twenty second. The singer announced the release
- 24:39Monday night via social media, sharing a reel of himself
- 24:42performing the song's hook. The cover's been a fixture of
- 24:46Zimmerman's live set throughout his current Different Night, Same Rodeo tour,
- 24:50where crowd reactions drew enough attention online to turn the
- 24:52performance into a recurring viral moment. In March, Zimmerman floated
- 24:57the idea of an official release on Instagram, asking fans
- 25:00whether he should put out his own version. He made
- 25:03the formal announcement at Stagecoach on April twenty fifth. The
- 25:07Climb originally released in two thousand and nine as part
- 25:09of the Hannah Montana. The movie soundtrack was one of
- 25:13Cyrus's earliest crossover hits. A TikTok clip from Zimmerman appears
- 25:17to tease a potential collaboration with Cyrus on the track,
- 25:21though no official confirmation has been made. Zimmerman signed with
- 25:24Warner Music Nashville in twenty twenty two and released his
- 25:27debut album Religiously in twenty twenty three. Next, Luke Bryan

- 26:10in the past two months, following Word on the Street

- 26:16which went to country radio on March thirtieth. It's always
- 26:20a great day when I get the chance to release
- 26:22new music. I've been working on this album for the
- 26:24past year, and I just love how it turned out.
- 26:27I was able to co write a few and then
- 26:29turned to the writers in Nashville to round them out.
- 26:31Bryan remarked, I feel like my fans have always let
- 26:34me record songs that make you feel good, so I
- 26:37went into this album, wanting everyone to just have fun.
- 26:40Brian's Word on the Street Tour launches May twenty ninth
- 26:43and thirtieth, with back to back shows in Guildford, New Hampshire.
- 26:47He and Jason Aldeen have also expanded their co headlining
- 26:50stadium run with four additional twenty six dates. Following a
- 26:53sold out show at UGA's Sandford Stadium in April which
- 26:57drew as many as sixty three thousand fans, Brian returns
- 27:01to California soon for more of his long running Farm
- 27:05Tour dates. Since the tour's launch in two thousand and nine,
- 27:08he has awarded ninety college scholarships to students from farming families.
