We live in a culture where self-protection and selfish living are often glorified, and sacrificial love seems unnecessary and extreme. But as these stories remind us, God's love for us is both sacrificial and extreme. And when we truly grasp his His awe-inspiring love, it is only reasonable that we offer our bodies to Him as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:11).
