- 0:00This is The Catholic Current with Fr. Robert Mottaig.
- 0:04I do agree with you that ultimately this is a battle from minds and hearts and we need
- 0:08to change the culture.
- 0:10The first thing I would do is pray and get divine inspiration, make sacrifices and then
- 0:15we have to win people over and we're not going to do it by marshalling forces in the voting
- 0:20booth but you're going to have to inspire people by your behavior and by your attitude
- 0:25and by your arguments.
- 0:26This is going to take a lot of patience, it's going to take a lot of conversion.
- 0:30People like to negotiate with their sin.
- 0:33Praised be Jesus Christ, this is Fr. Robert Mottaig of The Society of Jesus, your daily
- 0:38host for The Catholic Current where we bring Christ to the world and the world to Christ.
- 0:42You're listening to us from the station of The Cross Studios, your local radio station
- 0:45and the iCatholic Radio mobile app where we proclaim the fullness of truth with clarity
- 0:51and charity.
- 0:52As always, let's start with prayer.
- 0:54Name of the Father, Son of the Holy Spirit, Almighty God through the intercession of Saint
- 0:58Ignatius Soler, we ask that you pour forth your Holy Spirit upon us, a spirit of discernment
- 1:03that may hear your voice and obey your command.
- 1:05Name of the Father, Son of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
- 1:08Hey friends, you know we always have a family-friendly show here at The Catholic Current and sometimes
- 1:13we talk about mature and difficult subjects and today is one of those episodes.
- 1:19So listener discretion is advised and if you're listening in the company of young ears,
- 1:24you might want to wait and then more discreetly grab our content on our podcast later in the
- 1:30day.
- 1:31We're talking about another refugee from abortion world.
- 1:35You know, as a professor of philosophy and theology, as someone who's worked in medical
- 1:39ethics for many years, worked in a hospital too, I have a lot to say about abortion.
- 1:46But there's nothing quite like someone who was on the inside and saw it for herself.
- 1:54And I hope we're all prayed up today because in my experience when we have serious conversations
- 1:59about the nitty-gritty of abortion, the electronic equipment breaks down.
- 2:03So that's why I have a picture of Saint Michael on my mouse pad here on my computer here at
- 2:08the studio.
- 2:09There's a really great program called And Then There Were None and it's kind of an operation
- 2:13rescue for people who are caught up in abortion world and want to get out.
- 2:18And we have another success story, someone who woke up, walked away, and is now telling
- 2:24the truth bravely.
- 2:26She was a licensed practical nurse for many years and then worked at Tampa's Women Health
- 2:31and was clinical nursing supervisor before she resigned in 2017.
- 2:37Naomi Padilla, welcome to The Catholic Current.
- 2:39Thank you, Father.
- 2:40Thank you so much for having me and God bless you on this wonderful day.
- 2:44Naomi, I, as a much younger Jesuit, I was a chaplain to an ER at a level one trauma
- 2:49center in Philadelphia.
- 2:51I know what it's like in there and I know that the nurses are tough as nails.
- 2:55But in your story, the abortion clinic broke you.
- 3:01And I said, well, gosh, how did that happen?
- 3:03But let's back up a little bit.
- 3:05How did, I imagine as a little girl, you didn't wake up every morning and say, you know, when
- 3:09I grow up and I'm a big girl, I want to be a nurse at an abortion clinic.
- 3:14That's probably, your childhood was not like that.
- 3:17How did you get there?
- 3:18Absolutely.
- 3:19That's actually one of our most favorite t-shirts that we have through our ministry.
- 3:23And then there were none.
- 3:25It's whatever we have on the front, but the back says nobody grows up wanting to be an
- 3:29abortion worker.
- 3:30Right?
- 3:31Right.
- 3:32So much reality behind that statement, especially for nursing.
- 3:36I can remember for as long as I can remember that I wanted to be a nurse.
- 3:40I come from a long line of nurses and medical personnel.
- 3:45So it's in our family DNA.
- 3:47And I was just very, very gung ho and was very set on that path.
- 3:51And you know what, when we're in nursing school and you're deciding what specialty you want
- 3:56to go into, abortion is never one of the options, right?
- 4:00Everybody's always fighting for the OBGYN spots.
- 4:04You know, in my case, I love the neonatal ICU, the PICU, all those very high demand,
- 4:11you know, departments, but never abortion.
- 4:14And as a matter of fact, one of my breaking points, one of my heartbreaking points in
- 4:19New York was when we were laboring out someone from another country and we couldn't get an
- 4:25interpreter at the hospital.
- 4:27And so this poor woman had no idea that her baby had already passed and she was laboring
- 4:32out, you know, unfortunately, her dead little one.
- 4:36And we couldn't even convey that to her because we have a language barrier.
- 4:41Right.
- 4:42And so that was heartbreaking.
- 4:43And that right there said to me, I need a break from from OB for just a little bit,
- 4:48you know, and went to another specialty just for a few months and then came back because
- 4:52my heart was to promote life.
- 4:55That's why I took this oath.
- 4:57That was what my life was dedicated to.
- 5:00Never to end life.
- 5:02Right.
- 5:03So this is a dramatic change.
- 5:06So you know the human body, you know how it works, you know where babies come from, you
- 5:11know what it means.
- 5:13And you know that when a woman is pregnant, that means everything in her body worked.
- 5:18Pregnancy, you know, demanding, of course, is also a sign of health.
- 5:23You've had you've seen for yourself the wonder of bringing a child into the world.
- 5:29How did you end up in an abortion clinic in Florida?
- 5:33So a couple of things.
- 5:35Number one, I left New York to come to Florida because I am a 9-11 survivor.
- 5:40And after 9-11, just life became very, very difficult.
- 5:44I lost family and friends to that event.
- 5:47And so I just needed I needed a break.
- 5:50Right.
- 5:51So I decided to relocate.
- 5:52My sister was already living and well established in Florida.
- 5:56So I said, well, I'll join you.
- 5:58So I went over to the Sunshine State, you know, and didn't think about it really well,
- 6:02because in New York, not having a license is a great thing.
- 6:05Who needs a car in New York City, just like in Philadelphia, it's very congested, right?
- 6:10So over here in Florida, I needed to find work that was close to home that I could get
- 6:16to so easily.
- 6:18And literally about five minutes walking distance from where I was living at the time was the
- 6:23abortion clinic that I ran.
- 6:25So I remember when I was looking for work, I said, you know what?
- 6:29Yeah, this is very doable.
- 6:30When I get sick of the public transportation system, this is where I'm going to work.
- 6:35I literally proclaimed it, right?
- 6:36I didn't see a problem with it.
- 6:38I fully knew that they were an abortion clinic.
- 6:41But at that point, I was very much pro choice.
- 6:44And I wanted to help women, especially since I'm post abortive myself.
- 6:49So my thought process is, you know, I had an abortion when I was 17.
- 6:53Somebody helped me.
- 6:55They did me the favor.
- 6:56Let me pay it forward.
- 6:57What better way for me to help my community, right?
- 7:00So on said day that I went to interview there, I had just got it.
- 7:04I was working at the jail, and I was doing night shifts, and I had just gotten off a
- 7:09double shift.
- 7:10And it was really, really, it was a really, really complicated night shift.
- 7:14And so that morning, I got off the bus right in front of the abortion clinic and said,
- 7:18you know what, today's the day that I'm going to go get a job there.
- 7:21So I did that.
- 7:23I walked into the to the clinic and I said, Hey, um, are you guys hiring?
- 7:27And so the receptionist said, Yes, absolutely.
- 7:31And let me just get my director, the executive director comes out and she says, Well, do
- 7:35you have time to interview?
- 7:36I'm like, Yeah, why not?
- 7:38Um, he takes me to the back.
- 7:40And we're having this conversation.
- 7:42She's asking me the basic questions.
- 7:44And she says, I hear your your, your tone.
- 7:47Are you from New York?
- 7:48I said, Yes, absolutely.
- 7:49He said, Our doctor is from New York.
- 7:52I think you're going to hit it off with her.
- 7:54Let me get her.
- 7:55So she introduces me to the doctor and we do hit it off.
- 7:58I mean, we're having New York conversation.
- 8:00We ate at the same places, you know, ordered the same food.
- 8:04We were like, kindred spirits from the very beginning.
- 8:07And so at that point, she says, You're going to be a great fit here.
- 8:12And she gives the executive director the green light.
- 8:15She's like, Yeah, I want her where she's the keeper.
- 8:17And so they tell me, Can you start to work today?
- 8:19And I was like, Absolutely not.
- 8:21You know, I just got off a double shift and I need a shower.
- 8:25I smell literally.
- 8:26That's what I said.
- 8:27I smell.
- 8:28And he said, Yeah, no, we really need you.
- 8:29And so I said, It's not happening.
- 8:31She said, Well, we're going to offer you $500 as a stay and sign on bonus.
- 8:35I said, It just happened.
- 8:37Okay.
- 8:38Wow.
- 8:39Who doesn't want $500 in their pockets, right?
- 8:42And so in retrospect, in the moment, from the very beginning, the evil that surrounds
- 8:48the place.
- 8:49Because if I would have had a moment of clarity and not been thinking about the dollar sign
- 8:54at that moment, I would have thought never does any nurse go into any environment and
- 8:59get hired.
- 9:01You may get hired on the spot, but you're not going to start working on the spot because
- 9:05they need to credential you.
- 9:06They need to, you know, those were my thoughts.
- 9:11You know, there's got to be paperwork and references and investigation.
- 9:16I read the part of your story.
- 9:18I said, This doesn't pass the smell test.
- 9:20No, no.
- 9:21But at that point, Father, I wasn't thinking straight because, again, it was $500 that
- 9:27were being dangled in front of me in my humanity, right?
- 9:30I was like, Well, who can't use $500?
- 9:33Sure.
- 9:34Yeah.
- 9:35So every time that I share this part of my testimony, it always makes me like, Wow, you
- 9:41know, like there were signs right at the beginning, right from the start.
- 9:45But you're not thinking that because what's happening is that they're saying, You're going
- 9:49to be great at this.
- 9:50You're rocking this like you can do that.
- 9:52You know, they they they appeal to that inner part of us that just needs to hear those words.
- 9:58Right.
- 9:59Sure.
- 10:00Yeah.
- 10:01The coercion begins from the moment you walk in.
- 10:02Well, you know, I think of my mother, God rest her soul, whenever I was a little kid
- 10:06and I wanted I asked for something that I knew I really shouldn't have, she would say
- 10:10to me in Italian, you know, when the devil caresses you, he wants your soul.
- 10:16And so it took you a while and we'll talk about this more in the next segment to figure
- 10:19out these people were not your friends.
- 10:22They were not advocates for women.
- 10:25They weren't health care providers in the usual sense of the word.
- 10:30They were they were vampires.
- 10:32They were in the business of blood money.
- 10:36And the you know, again, as I read your story, it was like reading a horror story where you
- 10:42wake up from a dream and realize you're waking into a nightmare world.
- 10:47And I want to really dive deep into step by step how that happened.
- 10:53And then eventually we'll need to talk later about how you get out.
- 10:56I'm Jesuit Father Robert McTague, your host here every day.

- 12:56My guest today is a nurse, Naomi Padilla.
- 13:00She is another refugee from abortion world.
- 13:03You know, we always have a family-friendly show here at the Catholic Current.
- 13:06This is a very mature and sensitive topic.
- 13:09Listener discretion is advised.
- 13:11And if you're listening with younger ears in your company, you might want to wait and
- 13:16grab us on the podcast.
- 13:19Naomi, so you arrived.
- 13:22You were startled by your warm welcome.
- 13:24And again, they went above and beyond.
- 13:27They didn't check your references.
- 13:28They didn't vet you at all.
- 13:31They just put you to work almost sight unseen, you know, as you walk through the front door.
- 13:38That's a big red flag right there.
- 13:40In the studies that I've done and the people I've spoken with, like you, who got drawn
- 13:45into that world and then escaped, the pattern seems to be like that of a cult.
- 13:53They love BAMI.
- 13:54You are the best thing ever.
- 13:57You're the great gift of the universe to this wonderful and important work.
- 14:03You're our best friend.
- 14:04You can do no wrong.
- 14:06Let us give you stuff and lots of hugs.
- 14:09That's what it seemed like to me in your story.
- 14:11Is that an accurate description?
- 14:13Absolutely, absolutely, Father.
- 14:16It's funny that you use the phrase cult, because that is exactly what all of us ex-abortion
- 14:21workers refer to our time in the industry as.
- 14:25It's the cult years.
- 14:26And there is a conditioning that happens from the moment that you walk into the clinics,
- 14:32right from the very first second.
- 14:34And the sad part is, is that with the conditioning comes that extra added conditioning where
- 14:41in my case, they also then roomed me to be able to do this to other young ladies, because
- 14:47I was able to be part of the hiring process for the other young ladies, for the support
- 14:51staff.
- 14:52And then at that point, I was then doing the exact same thing that was done to me to them.
- 14:56You know, you are this amazing person.
- 14:59You are the most important person there.
- 15:01You are this great gift until you're not, which means if you speak up against abortion,
- 15:07or if you try to have women's rights, or if you say, hey, this particular young lady really
- 15:13can use some options, or let's get some medical records, you know, let's let's do something
- 15:18a little different here.
- 15:20Then you become this evil person that is not fulfilling the status quo.
- 15:25Right.
- 15:26So your job was just really to keep the money.
- 15:31So these weren't really patients, or clients, or fellow women.
- 15:37These were revenue streams.
- 15:39Is that a fair assessment?
- 15:41Absolutely.
- 15:42They were dollar signs.
- 15:43Right.
- 15:44So in the abortion industry, we would have morbid senses of humor.
- 15:48I mean, we made jokes about anything and everything.
- 15:52And literally, women coming in, if they had gold jewelry on, or if they were driving a
- 15:57fancier car, we're like, oh, here comes big time money.
- 16:02That was how we would refer to them.
- 16:04Right.
- 16:05And then if somebody came in, you know, looking like they did not have much money with a bunch
- 16:11of children, we're like, oh, that's even bigger time money, because that money is going to
- 16:15be guaranteed money from the funding sources.
- 16:18Right.
- 16:19So it was all about money.
- 16:21Everything had a dollar sign attached to it.
- 16:23Right.
- 16:24Even the staff.
- 16:25Even the staff.
- 16:26Sure.
- 16:27Sure.
- 16:28You know, I've been a priest for almost 30 years, and I've been a sinner as long as I
- 16:31can remember.
- 16:33And I know that you don't usually start with high-end sin.
- 16:39You negotiate with sin just this once, just this little bit.
- 16:43It's not a big deal.
- 16:45And you develop a tolerance for bigger and bigger sin.
- 16:50Could you talk a little bit about how, there must have been at some point before the final
- 16:55break, there must have been some sort of struggle, you know, do I really need to do this?
- 17:00It's okay.
- 17:01Oh, it's not a big deal.
- 17:02It's fine.
- 17:04Could you describe what that process was like for you?
- 17:06Absolutely.
- 17:07You know, like you said, it does start with a small sin.
- 17:10It starts with, you know, a paper that wasn't signed, and then you sign it for the patient.
- 17:16You know, they would have signed it anyways.
- 17:18Or it's, then it goes on to, you know, let me just lie to a patient and tell them that
- 17:23there aren't any resources when we have a full service resource center right around
- 17:28the corner.
- 17:29They don't need to know that, you know?
- 17:31And then it goes to, let's falsify some sonograms, right?
- 17:36And let me falsify my own credentials because I promise you, I've never gone to sonogram
- 17:40school or any kind of sonography classes a day in my life, yet I was the top number one
- 17:45sonographer in the place.
- 17:48And I was taught how to do sonograms by a woman who wasn't even medically credentialed
- 17:53at all.
- 17:54So again, self-taught, self-proclaimed, self-certified, that's a huge lie right there, right?
- 18:02And baby's lives are in my hands, and I'm just doing this because I can, because somebody
- 18:07said that I would be good at it.
- 18:09And so where does the lie stop?
- 18:11And so, or where does the sin stop?
- 18:13And then you get more and more, you're falsifying sonograms, you know, you're giving the wrong
- 18:19medication, you're giving expired medications, you're giving the wrong doses because today
- 18:24we want to hurry up and finish really quickly because everybody, it's Friday and everybody
- 18:28has things to do this evening.
- 18:30So we would double and triple Medicaid, or, you know, everybody needs extra hours this
- 18:35week because it's back to school time, so let's give half the medications so that these
- 18:40procedures could get long and drawn out.
- 18:42Like, where did we stop?
- 18:44We didn't.
- 18:45We had no moral compasses, and we would do anything to seal those abortions and get the
- 18:52women on the tables.
- 18:54So that's what happened in the workplace.
- 18:57What did it do to you after hours?
- 19:00When you went home, did you run to the mirror and give yourself a thumbs up?
- 19:05What was it like when you just sat by yourself at the end of a workday?
- 19:08Most of the times, I'm going to be honest with you, we did everything together, so most
- 19:13of the times we were all either intoxicated or altered.
- 19:17Everybody, you know, everybody had addiction problems.
- 19:20For me, food was my addiction.
- 19:22I had other staff that used all the different kinds of drugs.
- 19:26It was very common for us to go to happy hour and just have a bunch of drinks until
- 19:32we couldn't think anymore, you know.
- 19:35We rarely looked in the mirror, if I'm honest with you, because then we have to look at
- 19:39the reflection of who we really are.
- 19:41Right.
- 19:42Right.
- 19:43So it was just cold.
- 19:44Where were you in terms of, I mean, I would find it hard to believe that you were going
- 19:50to Mass every Sunday, for example, during that time.
- 19:54Well, absolutely.
- 19:55We didn't go to church.
- 19:56And it's funny because I was raised in the church.
- 19:59Like I say that I was born into Christianity, you know, like for as long as I can remember,
- 20:04we had a relationship with God.
- 20:06I had a relationship with God.
- 20:08And no, we wouldn't go to church because what if the topic of abortion came up in the church
- 20:13or what if they made an altar call and said, hey, any sinners here this week?
- 20:17You know, what was I going to do?
- 20:19I wasn't going to.
- 20:20God and I were not having conversations, you know, I knew that he was there.
- 20:25We tried really hard in our humanity to keep God out of the clinic.
- 20:31We thought that if we did not say the word God, and if we did not pray, and if we did
- 20:38not mention it, he would not know what we were doing.
- 20:42Wow.
- 20:43Wow.
- 20:44Gosh, I don't know what to say to that.
- 20:47So what about your family and friends?
- 20:51Did they know the kind of work you were doing?
- 20:53Did they ever talk to you about it?
- 20:54Did you ever mention it to them?
- 20:56So my close family knew that I was working there.
- 20:59But again, my family was a divided family.
- 21:02Some were, hey, great job, sis, you're doing a great job for women.
- 21:06And then I had the other portion that said, absolutely not.
- 21:09I actually have a brother who is a chaplain, and he prayed with me each and every night.
- 21:15He would just say goodnight prayers with me.
- 21:17And I am so grateful for him because the entire four years, every single night, whether it
- 21:24was one o'clock in the morning, we'd have that end of the day phone call, and he was
- 21:27never judgmental.
- 21:29And he would just say, we're just praying that you make it to another day, you know,
- 21:33very general prayers.
- 21:35When I quit, he confessed to me, he admitted to me, he goes, sis, you want to know something?
- 21:40Every day as we hung up the phone, every night, I then said an additional prayer for you that
- 21:46God would touch your heart and that you would leave that place.
- 21:49But I was not going to give you that pressure because I know it was your walk to walk.
- 21:53Well, you know, I think maybe those extra prayers of your brother kind of kept, could
- 22:00have kept a spiritual door open that the enemy would have wanted to have had closed.
- 22:07I'm sure that when you were in the industry, and I do call it an industry deliberately,
- 22:14you probably heard things in the news or testimony before Congress where people would hold their
- 22:19chin up and with smiling white teeth say, we're here to be advocates of women and reproductive
- 22:27health and keeping the government out of people's lives, etc.
- 22:32And you already knew from behind the scenes what was really going on.
- 22:35What was your reaction as you heard these advocates go to the cameras and tell their
- 22:41stories?
- 22:42So, truth be told, we isolated a lot, and we tried to not pay attention to those things
- 22:48because again, in a cult-like environment, the more isolated that you are, the better
- 22:55it is, right?
- 22:56So if somebody, like if my sister would call me and say, hey, did you see this on the news
- 23:01or something?
- 23:02And I happen to mention it right away, the owner would say, listen, yeah, you know, those
- 23:07are those crazy fanatics, you know, outside and let's not have conversation.
- 23:13They're not nice people.
- 23:14They will never be your friend.
- 23:16We love you.
- 23:17And we are together in this battle for women's rights.
- 23:20And you know what we're doing is right.
- 23:21They have no clue what women's rights really are all about.
- 23:25We're the ones at the front line.
- 23:26That was part of the conversations we would have.
- 23:29You know, I refer to myself as a recovering academic.
- 23:34I was a university professor for many years.
- 23:37And whatever school I was at, there was always a women's center and there was a Department
- 23:41of Women's Studies and there was women's advocacy, etc., etc.
- 23:45But at this late date, absolutely everyone really knows what goes on in abortion clinics.
- 23:54Everyone knows what the medical standards are.
- 23:57Everyone knows it's, you know, there's no one who turns down a scholarship to be a brain
- 24:02surgeon so that he can be an abortionist.
- 24:04These are the bottom feeders of the medical industry.
- 24:08And I just want to know all these fierce pro-women feminists, these women who promote books like
- 24:15In Our Bodies, Ourselves with their absolutely erroneous accounts of abortion, where are
- 24:21they when a woman is butchered, a woman is injured, a woman dies avoidably, a woman is
- 24:29treated with contempt?
- 24:31When women are sexually assaulted in abortion clinics, where are the strong social justice
- 24:38warrior pro-women feminists?
- 24:42I've been following this for decades.
- 24:45When that battle is being engaged, the so-called pro-women women, the feminist women, are absolutely
- 24:54nowhere to be found.
- 24:55Friends, we come back when we continue our conversation about becoming a refugee from
- 25:01abortion world.

- 27:06Owner discretion is advised.
- 27:08If you're listening with younger ears around you, you might want to wait and grab us on
- 27:12the podcast platform.
- 27:13My guest today is Naomi Padilla, a refugee from the abortion industry.
- 27:19So Naomi, eventually, because I've had similar conversations with folks, you hit bottom,
- 27:24you say, I can't do this anymore.
- 27:27You no longer believe the lie that you're helpless, because that's how the devil always
- 27:34works.
- 27:35The devil wants us to despair and just roll over and drown in the muck.
- 27:41You decided you can't do this anymore.
- 27:44What happened next?
- 27:45So for me, I had that, what we call the aha moment as ex-abortion workers.
- 27:51I had my aha moment about two years, a little bit over two years while I was in the industry.
- 27:56I was in there for four years.
- 27:59We specialized in second trimester procedures.
- 28:02We were the go-to location for out-of-state procedures.
- 28:06We were the destination abortion center here in Florida.
- 28:10And there was this one family who was a very much wanted, they had a very much wanted pregnancy.
- 28:16They had just stumbled in to our clinic because they went to the wrong place instead of to
- 28:21the pregnancy care center next door.
- 28:23And I maneuvered and manipulated the sonogram.
- 28:29And so she kept coming back and we developed this crazy relationship.
- 28:33And she asked me to hear a heartbeat.
- 28:36And I was like, absolutely not.
- 28:37She said, I'll pay you 50 bucks.
- 28:39And again, like I said, money talks in the abortion clinic.
- 28:43So I let her hear the heartbeat, but guess what, Father, I also heard the heartbeat.
- 28:47And I had not heard a heartbeat in two years.
- 28:49So that was the beginning of God saying, my daughter, I am here.
- 28:54I'm here and I see you, right?
- 28:56And so she kept coming back for more sonograms.
- 28:59I watched this baby grow until she got into her OB care.
- 29:03And then she was way into her, the end of her second trimester.
- 29:08And she apparently had a problem, went to the local hospital where they misdiagnosed
- 29:13her and told her that she needed an abortion because neither she nor the baby were going
- 29:18to survive the labor, the birth.
- 29:21So she called me at the same time that the hospital was giving me a report on her and
- 29:28said, hey, you know, I have to come see you.
- 29:30And I said, you know, this doesn't seem right.
- 29:33Can you get medical records?
- 29:34Because, you know, I'm not a doctor, but I had seen this baby grow.
- 29:38And my instinct was saying this is not correct.
- 29:42But she came in and I had to argue with the owner and the doctor.
- 29:46And they said, listen, this is a high, a high monetary.
- 29:50This is a high value abortion.
- 29:52We're doing this.
- 29:53And so we embarked on this three and a half day abortion process for her as she did each
- 29:59and every day.
- 30:00Father, without an ounce, without a single drop of sedation, because her thought process
- 30:06is my baby's hurting.
- 30:07I need to hurt also like I love my baby and I am not going to be sedated through this.
- 30:12I am going to hold my baby's hand.
- 30:15And it was life changing and life altering.
- 30:18And then a week later, I get the medical results, the medical records from the hospital.
- 30:23And it was a mistake.
- 30:24We ended the life of the wrong baby.
- 30:28And so it was devastating.
- 30:30And I ate myself.
- 30:33I ate myself into a stupor and a coma that that week.
- 30:37And I remember saying, I know that this baby, you know, did not have to die this day this
- 30:43way.
- 30:44I don't know if the baby would have made it the rest of the pregnancy, but the baby did
- 30:48not have to die at our hands, at my hands, if I would have fought harder for her.
- 30:53And so at that point, I went back to work and I went to the staff and I said, guys,
- 30:58I can't do this anymore, ladies.
- 31:00So guess what, you guys, if you want a chance at a good reference, you need to start leaving
- 31:05because I had hired them.
- 31:06So I felt directly responsible for them.
- 31:08I'm very much a mama bear kind of a person.
- 31:11Go talk to those crazy people on the sidewalk, you know, see what they're all about.
- 31:16Go get jobs.
- 31:17Provide good references for you and help you get established.
- 31:20And it took me two years to get everybody out.
- 31:23And so at the end of those two years and unbeknownst to me, every time that they left and had contacted
- 31:29and then there were none, they were saying, please pray for our manager like she's still
- 31:34stuck in there.
- 31:35Please pray for her.
- 31:36I didn't know anything about this.
- 31:38So fast forward on the day that I quit and I called the hotline for and then there were
- 31:42none and they said my name and I, you know, I'm in Tampa, Florida and they wait a minute.
- 31:48Is this are you from the purple building on Fletcher Avenue?
- 31:50And I'm like, yeah, they're like, we've been praying for you for four years and I'm going
- 31:56to tell you, father, if that wasn't the biggest confirmation from our heavenly father saying
- 32:02you did the right thing.
- 32:03I don't know what was because people, they don't know me, you know, they don't know me.
- 32:08And that's what I'm then there were none is all about.
- 32:10It's about prayer, love and support, you know, and I would not be who I am today without
- 32:16our heavenly father, first and foremost.
- 32:18And then that.
- 32:19Yes.
- 32:20Wow.
- 32:21Wow.
- 32:22So eventually you had to tell your employers that I'm not doing this anymore.
- 32:28Did they give you a bouquet of flowers and a gold watch and a farewell party?
- 32:32Absolutely not.
- 32:33When you quit the abortion industry, you get shunned worse than the Amish shun their own
- 32:38country folk, you know, right.
- 32:41They will lie about you.
- 32:42It's funny because at one point I had done an interview and they actually wanted to cross
- 32:47reference with my ex executive director.
- 32:50And her comment was, yeah, she's some kind of type of religious, you know, fanatic.
- 32:55I don't even know what she is.
- 32:56But yeah, I was, you know, the greatest gift while I was working there for them.
- 33:01Yeah.
- 33:02So they're going to backstab you.
- 33:04They're going to shun you.
- 33:05They're going to shame you.
- 33:07I imagine they're going to both berate you and bribe you.
- 33:10Did that happen, too?
- 33:11Oh, absolutely.
- 33:12Within about two hours of the shock, I walked into the clinic.
- 33:16I said, hey, guys, here's the keys to the kingdom.
- 33:18I'm quitting.
- 33:19We had three locations.
- 33:20I gave them keys to all three locations and they were like, OK, you're throwing a tantrum.
- 33:25You know, what do you want?
- 33:26What kind of Michael Kors bag do you want?
- 33:28I said, no, this is really it.
- 33:30And so I left.
- 33:33And within a couple of hours, I was getting the text about, hey, come back.
- 33:37Let's negotiate.
- 33:38What do you want?
- 33:39How much money do you want?
- 33:40All those things.
- 33:41We really.
- 33:42And then goes the guilt.
- 33:43We really need you.
- 33:44We can't run without you.
- 33:45And then when that wasn't working comes, you know, you're really horrible and unprofessional
- 33:50and you're we're going to make sure you never get a job a day in your life.
- 33:53Oh, right.
- 33:54Right.
- 33:55Oh, but our God is an awesome God.
- 33:58And I promise you, I had a job offer the very next day.
- 34:03Because he is not going to leave us in the cold.
- 34:06He's not going to leave us dangling.
- 34:07So there is an outside chance that somebody listening to this is is in the business, is
- 34:14in the industry and wants to get out, but is on the verge of despair, because one of
- 34:21the ways the devil beats us down is to say, you're the only one who thinks like this.
- 34:27If there's a problem, you're the problem.
- 34:31It's not going to get any better than this.
- 34:33Just resign yourself to it.
- 34:35If there's someone who wishes there's a way out, but says there is no way, what would
- 34:40you say to them?
- 34:41You know, I hope that there is somebody that's listening, that's working in the clinics.
- 34:46I really do.
- 34:47Or or a sister or cousin or a friend of somebody who has an affiliation to somebody working
- 34:52in a clinic so that they can share this information.
- 34:55I say I challenge them in love, say just go to abortionworker.com, pull it up.
- 35:01This is the age of the Internet.
- 35:02Pull it up and see the testimonies of more than 700 other ex-abortion workers.
- 35:09See the off the offers that are out there.
- 35:12And I say offers because they're coming from a cult like mentality, right, where everything
- 35:16has a money value.
- 35:17Right.
- 35:18So that's why I tend to sometimes use the word offers.
- 35:20It's the language that they that they know and understand and are used to.
- 35:25Right.
- 35:26You're going to find a tribe of unconditional love of women and men that understand what
- 35:31you went through on your worst day and still love you unconditionally, where you don't
- 35:36even have to give the details because we've been there and walked the same path in a different
- 35:41location.
- 35:42And so we just we get each other, you know, and it's so much more.
- 35:47It's emotional support.
- 35:49It's educational support.
- 35:51It's therapy.
- 35:52It is monetary support if deemed and needed.
- 35:56You know, that's on an individual per case basis.
- 35:59It is.
- 36:00But it's the sisterhood, the tribe and the constant.
- 36:04When you get triggered at three o'clock in the morning, there is somebody in this tribe
- 36:08up and willing to listen to you literally.
- 36:11Right.
- 36:12When you have a nightmare and you can't you can't you can't stomach or fathom what you
- 36:16did that day, your actions for the day, instead of taking that drink or that drug, take a
- 36:21chance and go check us out and have one conversation with one ex-abortion worker.
- 36:26And I promise their life will forever be changed.
- 36:30Something else that I want to bring up about the urgency of getting out sooner rather than
- 36:35later.
- 36:36This is you know, this is not like say, gosh, I thought I would like playing golf and I
- 36:40decided I didn't.
- 36:41So I walked away.
- 36:43After you walk away, you need healing, don't you?
- 36:47Can you testify to the folks who are afraid of looking at their wounds that there really
- 36:51is healing available?
- 36:53There is.
- 36:54Absolutely.
- 36:55First of all, we say that we're going to be in recovery from the time in the abortion
- 36:59clinic for the rest of our lives.
- 37:01And that is OK, because for the rest of our lives, we have a team surrounding us.
- 37:06Right.
- 37:07Yes.
- 37:08Those wounds there.
- 37:09First of all, they're invisible wounds, right, because they're not seen on the skin.
- 37:12They're in our hearts.
- 37:13They're in our minds, in our souls.
- 37:15But they we have.
- 37:17And then there were none through God.
- 37:19This ministry can heal those because he can heal all of us.
- 37:23Right.
- 37:24He can redeem us.
- 37:25And he forgives us.
- 37:26Right.
- 37:27And then there were none.
- 37:28Puts us in an environment and gives us the resources, provides the resources so that
- 37:33we can take accountability and thus allow the healing process and allows us to forgive
- 37:39ourselves.
- 37:40And God has already forgiven us.
- 37:41We are our biggest critics.
- 37:43And it's harder for us to forgive ourselves because we're human.
- 37:47But you know what?
- 37:48There's a team of therapists, of loving advocates that are going to help walk that path with
- 37:52us.
- 37:53So those wounds do not have to be there forever.
- 37:56They can be healed.
- 37:57Right.
- 37:58Right.
- 37:59And, you know, as as a priest, you know, someone who spends his life working with sinners,
- 38:04helping them to clean up the mess of their lives.
- 38:07And as, you know, someone who's been a sinner himself and had to repent, I know that one
- 38:11of the tricks of the devil is to convince us that we are defined by our sin.
- 38:18And what's most important about us is the sin that we're most ashamed of.
- 38:25And that is a lie from the bit of hell.
- 38:27And we have to rebuke that with confidence.
- 38:30So what defines us is our baptism.
- 38:34And what is most important about us is our relationship with Christ.
- 38:39Christ came to call sinners.
- 38:43He came to bring us home.
- 38:45He came to set us free.
- 38:48And I can't think of a more monstrous industry than the abortion clinic, a place where people
- 38:54judge the quality of their day by how much blood of children they've washed off from
- 38:59their hands at the end of the day.
- 39:01These people are not your friends.
- 39:03They don't love women.
- 39:05They're not health care providers.
- 39:07And there is hope and healing.
- 39:09Naomi, very quickly, where where can they find help?
- 39:13What's a website they need to go to?
- 39:16The easiest way is go to abortionworker.com.
- 39:19It's going to take you right to the end.
- 39:20Then there were none page.
- 39:23And it is going to give a list of resources, testimonies and everything.
- 39:27There's a link that says I need help to quit.
- 39:30For those that want to support quitters, there's a link for that also.
- 39:33So please just try it on over to abortionworker.com and see what is out there.
- 39:39All right.
- 39:40Well, we will absolutely make sure that this isn't in the resources for the show today.
- 39:45If you are caught in this trap, there is a way out.
- 39:48There is hope.
- 39:49There is healing.
- 39:50And there is fellowship and love waiting for you.
- 39:52Naomi Padilla, thank you for your testimony today.
- 39:55God bless you.
- 39:56Very good work.
- 39:57God bless you as well.
- 39:58God bless you, Father.

- 41:54It is a timely Tuesday, timely thoughts reflecting what we've heard today.
- 41:57My guest was Naomi Padilla, who was a nurse and a clinical nursing supervisor at an abortion
- 42:04clinic in Florida for four years, and we talked about how she got out of the abortion world.
- 42:10It's a compelling conversation.
- 42:11What I want to talk about here is how to have conversations with people who still, at this
- 42:19late date, knowing everything that we know, how do we talk about abortion?
- 42:27I want to give a shout out to a member of Congress.
- 42:30This is Brandon Gill, who is a Republican from Texas.
- 42:34He was interviewing recently a woman who was involved in the abortion industry.
- 42:43He asked, so what's your favorite abortion procedure?
- 42:49See that's the thing.
- 42:51I would tell my students when I was teaching medical ethics, never, ever, ever talk about
- 42:56abortion in the abstract.
- 42:59Talk about a woman with a name and an age.
- 43:03Talk about a woman and talk about exactly where she is in her pregnancy.
- 43:08Talk about blood types.
- 43:10Talk about the instrument that the abortionist has in his hand, and talk about what he's
- 43:16going to do with it.
- 43:18Ask questions like this.
- 43:21How do you know when an abortion has been successful?
- 43:26Let's start with that.
- 43:28I was wandering around in a bookstore years ago, and the, if you will, the Bible of feminist
- 43:36so-called pro-woman medicine was a book called Our Bodies, Ourselves.
- 43:42If you go to the section on abortion, it shows these different instruments in the woman's
- 43:48body, but it never shows that the instrument is doing any of it.
- 43:54What's it doing there?
- 43:56In other words, they never showed the pre-born child.
- 44:01I see this as a sleight of hand, as being a bit disingenuous.
- 44:07Always be specific about abortion.
- 44:10What happens?
- 44:13Since Roe v. Wade is gone, thanks be to God, which I really thought I'd never live to see
- 44:18the day, but here we are.
- 44:21In some places, abortion numbers have gone down, thanks be to God.
- 44:26Some clinics have gone out of business because it turns out, oh, we supply the full array
- 44:30of women's healthcare, blah, blah, blah.
- 44:33Once you tinker with their abortion revenue stream, they go away.
- 44:38Now it's abortion by pill.
- 44:41There's all sorts of mischief and shenanigans to just get it over the counter like cold
- 44:47medicine without any sort of medical accompaniment.
- 44:53I'll use that word rather deliberately.
- 44:56Then we can say that we are making progress.
- 45:01Well, no, if we're still passing out abortion pills, then we've got to talk about that too.
- 45:07We have to talk about that too.
- 45:09For example, I would tell students that you would think that these pills were just a dose
- 45:16of baby be gone.
- 45:19You just take one of those and presto chango, miraculously, you are magically un-pregnant.
- 45:30There is no such thing as un-pregnant.
- 45:36There's pre-pregnant, there's pregnant, and then there's post-pregnant.
- 45:45This pill doesn't miraculously or magically, better said, restore you to your pre-pregnant
- 45:54state.
- 45:55Every time, every time, and science tells us this, or the science as the cool kids call
- 46:03it now, the science makes clear that every time a woman conceives, cells from her child
- 46:11remain in her bloodstream her whole life.
- 46:15You might make the baby go away, but the fact of the pregnancy doesn't go away.
- 46:24That conceived child just doesn't disappear.
- 46:30It's expelled from the body with all that that means, and I have to be very candid here.
- 46:38It's a horrifying and often violent procedure where a woman needs medical help, and she's
- 46:48told none of that.
- 46:52She's not told of the risks.
- 46:55She's not really told about what happens to her body and to the child's body.
- 47:03Mind you, this is being done, this is being promoted by the so-called great champions
- 47:11of women and women's agency and women's autonomy and respect for women's bodies.
- 47:21Just remember, the people pushing these pills at you think it's a good day when your baby
- 47:29dies.
- 47:30These pills are being pushed at you by people who think it's a good day when it takes them
- 47:37a long time to wash the blood of children off their hands and their employers sink.
- 47:45This is who we're dealing with.
- 47:48So the truth is on the side of life, facts are on the side of life, and the science is
- 47:55on the side of life.
- 48:00There are always, always, always alternatives to abortion.
- 48:08Every Catholic diocese in the United States has help for you to ensure the health of you
- 48:18and your baby, to help you whether you decide to parent or arrange for adoption.
- 48:26So very often, women in difficult situations are led to despair.
- 48:35They think they have no hope.
- 48:37They think they have no options.
- 48:39They are desperate.
- 48:41They are vulnerable.
- 48:44And then these vampires, these cannibals, these leeches whisper into your ear and say
- 48:53you have no choice but to kill.
- 48:58And again, that is a lie from the pit of hell and there has to be rebuke.
- 49:04So please do go to our show notes.
