- 0:05SPEAKER_01: So I'm not sure what you're saying.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: Well, here's the thing.
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: Y'all have something, the women, that uh the women, that m most men will fall for any trick because they think they might have an opportunity to get their hands on something if you don't.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: And sometimes your brand knows how and I call the ladies all your your brand, your species, your brand.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: So I'm using the term brand because it's just a funnier way of saying it.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: So some people in your brand um most definitely know how to manipulate uh, you know, somebody that has an interest.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: And I just want to know how you sleep at night because I Oh my gosh.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: I'm looking at this research here.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: You know, the uh find folks at JG Wentworth.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: JG Wentworth?
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Is that a law office?
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: No, it's uh some sort of uh financial thing.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Like if you get a settlement or something like that, they'll pay you.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: Oh, by the way, I got a settlement the other day, I'll tell you about in a second.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: Well, they are you gonna sleep at night?
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: Oh I mean, for 24 bucks, yeah, I guess.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: I would sleep better if it was like 150 bucks.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: 39.9% of singles have uh gone on a date just for the free meal.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: The winner.
- 1:11SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, this is just for the free meal.
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, this has been a thing for a very, very long time.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: I know when you when you start in your 20s, just come to Aunt Alley over here, and I'll give you all the tips and tricks of getting a free meal.
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: Here it comes.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: And then you're gonna find out how to stay uh sleeping at night with that.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: Not the nicest move.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: Actually, that one's hard for me.
- 1:37SPEAKER_02: I just cannot I I always start with the coffee date.
- 1:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:41SPEAKER_02: And even this is very early in mine and Zach's relationship.
- 1:46SPEAKER_02: We went to Hush and the bill was it was up there, you know?
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: And I said, let's just split it.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: We weren't really committed at that point.
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: It was just still like it was preliminary dating, if you will.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Sure, sure.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: And and I I can't.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: And this is not premeditated though.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: You guys were just out having a good time and doing it.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: No, there are people that literally walk in with the mindset of I'm going to get a free meal.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: Yes, but what I'm saying is I I just cannot do that.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: I it's just not in me to do it.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: I understand.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm glad that you can't because I feel that makes you better.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, wait, I'm sorry.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: Go ahead.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: What did you have?
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: Well, it depends.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Did you like the person before you went for the free meal or not?
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: If you did not like the person a little gray area there.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: If you like the person but then found out you didn't, then nope, that's fine, because you at least gave it a shot.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, I like food.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: I probably would not turn it down and be like, okay, sure.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: As long as you're not a jerk about it and you're grateful and you just thank them at least at the end of the meal.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: I think no.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: If you like them or think you like them, and and let them pay, then that's okay.
- 2:57SPEAKER_02: Because I'm in my mind, I'm thinking this is going to go to another date and I'll pay down the line.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: That's what I think.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: All right, you're thinking further out with it.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Yes, exactly.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: And I'm not always thinking further out, but then with like for instance, we went to a very fancy restaurant on Friday, and Zach paid.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: And it was, I mean, and believe me, I wasn't skimping.
- 3:17SPEAKER_02: I was like, mussels, steak, tiramisu, bottle of wine.
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: And he goes, I've had you for six months.
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: I just gotta make sure we we stick together for at least another six more.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: So I gotta, I gotta take care of you.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: I'm like, All right, okay.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: Sounds very nice.
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: Yes, absolutely.
- 3:33SPEAKER_02: But at the beginning, if I don't like you, I don't know why I could not get a free meal out of you.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: Because I I think that makes you a better person, to be totally honest with you.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: I think that uh, you know, I know that it's not a majority.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: I hope it's not a majority of people.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: See, like, guys can't get away with this.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: Guy, this is not something that a guy can easily pull off.
- 3:55SPEAKER_02: It's not, and I think that it happens more in big cities because I could I there's such a big pool that you're dating so much more.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: You're going out to dinner at eight o'clock on a Tuesday.
- 4:08SPEAKER_02: Something that I don't know, does anyone here in your 20s, if you're like on Tinder or Bumble or Hinge, are you really going out to dinner on a Tuesday?
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: Likely not as much.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: Are you like heading up the cellar on a Tuesday on a first date?
- 4:23SPEAKER_02: I'm just glad to know.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: And and I don't know, maybe it is the dynamic of the larger city versus a smaller city.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: It's good to know you can't walk in premeditated going, I'm really not into this person, but I'm gonna take their meal.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: It's so weird though, although I always think like, oh, it's a small community, you can't get away with it here.
- 4:40SPEAKER_02: Well, you could.
- 4:41SPEAKER_02: Well, exactly.
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: When my friend was visiting and he got on Tinder and I and we were swiping together, because of course I just had to Couldn't stop yourself having to take a look.
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: Exactly, exactly.
- 4:51SPEAKER_02: And I thought, man, I don't know any of these people.
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: See?
- 4:55SPEAKER_02: And also, like the most gorgeous people I've seen.
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: I was like, what?
- 4:59SPEAKER_02: I've never seen this girl before in my life.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: So so I think that you could honestly get away with it because I think that I know everyone.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but let's not promote you could get away with it.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: What I'm getting at is it's not the right thing to do.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's that's taking advantage in a way that, well, you have certain goods that a lot of guys can't say no to.
- 5:20SPEAKER_02: I have a let me throw in.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: That's a weird compliment, but anyway.
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: Let me throw in a little caveat here.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: What if you knew he made a lot of money?
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: Would it make you feel less icky doing it?
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: No.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: I mean, well, again, I mean, if I was a woman and I I couldn't do it either, just for the free meal.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm sorry.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: I just, you know, Right.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: Unless I was like the the even it's even though it's a minor lead on, it's a lead on.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: Except for unless I was like eight days away from payday.
- 5:48SPEAKER_02: Oh my God.
