  Speaker 1: to be able to have the Holy Spirit be able

  Speaker 1: to speak through this mic and go through the listeners'

  Speaker 1: ears and be able to reach their hearts and minds
• 0:20
  Speaker 1: and be able to apply these verses to their lives.

  Speaker 1: In the Lord Jesus Christ's name I pray, amen.

  Speaker 2: So Acts chapter 3, and....

  Speaker 1: I'm recording this as I go, as I walk down
• 0:35
  Speaker 1: the street that I've walked.
• 0:37
  Speaker 2: Down many times.
• 0:38
  Speaker 1: And I've given you a little bit of extra time

  Speaker 1: as well to grab your Bibles or get on your

  Speaker 1: Bible app and read along as you hear along. I

  Speaker 1: highly recommend to be able to hear it and see

  Speaker 1: it at the same time. Really soak in the Word
• 0:51
  Speaker 1: of God. And no matter what, my faith.

  Speaker 1: Never weakens, it strengthens. And I say this with receiving
• 1:04
  Speaker 1: bad news today is an indicator that my faith is
• 1:13
  Speaker 1: not only being tested, but as well my faith is
• 1:19
  Speaker 1: being presented. There were numerous times before as a believer,
• 1:25
  Speaker 1: just a believer.
• 1:27
  Speaker 2: That.
• 1:29
  Speaker 1: News like this or circumstances would make me want to
• 1:34
  Speaker 1: go drink or go get high to temporarily fix the
• 1:38
  Speaker 1: feelings inside as I continue to strive in recovery. And
• 1:46
  Speaker 1: not only that, I just recently, last night, became a member.
• 1:54
  Speaker 2: Of my church.
• 1:59
  Speaker 1: And nobody forced.
• 2:02
  Speaker 2: Me to do that.
• 2:03
  Speaker 1: Nobody made me or convinced me that I needed to
• 2:10
  Speaker 1: do so. I really wanted to be a member.
• 2:13
  Speaker 2: Of the church.
• 2:15
  Speaker 1: It has nothing to do with, oh, just going to
• 2:17
  Speaker 1: church and things of that nature. It's a part of,
• 2:20
  Speaker 1: as much as Jesus loved the church, so do we.
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: It's not necessarily what the church can give us. It's
• 2:27
  Speaker 1: what we can give the church. Our talents, our money,
• 2:31
  Speaker 1: our time, our efforts, our energy. And I've learned that
• 2:35
  Speaker 1: over the past six months. And I'm all in. So
• 2:39
  Speaker 1: with that being said, let's go to Acts chapter 3.
• 2:43
  Speaker 1: And it is titled, Peter tells a man to walk again.
• 2:47
  Speaker 1: Now forgive me, there will be noises and cars. And
• 2:51
  Speaker 1: I have no control over that.
• 2:53
  Speaker 2: So bear with me.
• 2:56
  Speaker 1: Big old semi going by. But Peter tells a man
• 3:00
  Speaker 1: to walk again. Before I even get into verse 1,
• 3:04
  Speaker 1: think about this. Peter, it's not saying Jesus. So Jesus
• 3:08
  Speaker 1: has given authority to his apostles, okay? And not to
• 3:14
  Speaker 1: only perform.
• 3:16
  Speaker 2: Miracles, but to.
• 3:19
  Speaker 1: Spread the gospel of him, right? And with that being said,
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: let's jump into it. Acts chapter 3 verse 1 states,
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: One day Peter and John went to the temple in Jerusalem.
• 3:35
  Speaker 1: It was three o'clock in the afternoon. This was the
• 3:38
  Speaker 1: time when everyone went there to pray.
• 3:42
  Speaker 2: There was a.
• 3:43
  Speaker 1: Man who could not walk. He had never been able
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: to walk. Every day his friends put him in Put
• 3:53
  Speaker 1: him at the gate of the temple. It was called
• 3:57
  Speaker 1: the beautiful gate. As people were going in through the gate.
• 4:01
  Speaker 1: The man asked them for money. His friends were carrying him.
• 4:06
  Speaker 1: There when Peter and John arrived. Verse 3. The man
• 4:11
  Speaker 1: saw Peter and John. As they were coming through the gate.
• 4:17
  Speaker 1: So he asked them to give him. So he asked them.
• 4:23
  Speaker 1: to give him some money. Peter looked carefully at the man,
• 4:28
  Speaker 1: and so did John. Peter said to him, Look at us.
• 4:34
  Speaker 1: So the man looked at Peter and John, and he
• 4:38
  Speaker 1: thought that he would give him some money. Then Peter
• 4:42
  Speaker 1: said to the man, I do not have any money,
• 4:45
  Speaker 1: but I do have something.
• 4:46
  Speaker 2: Else I will give you. Jesus Christ from Nazareth.
• 4:52
  Speaker 1: Gave me authority to do this so now I tell
• 4:56
  Speaker 1: you to walk and before I get into verse 7
• 4:59
  Speaker 1: you see how I stated Jesus Christ gave authority to
• 5:05
  Speaker 1: his apostles before I even got into this verse right
• 5:08
  Speaker 1: so I kind of know a little bit and being
• 5:11
  Speaker 1: as if 20 years was wasted getting wasted there were
• 5:19
  Speaker 1: also a lot of times where I was jumping in
• 5:22
  Speaker 1: and jumping out of my faith. There were times where
• 5:25
  Speaker 1: I would do Bible study, and I would go 45
• 5:28
  Speaker 1: minutes to an hour. I would feel the presence of
• 5:32
  Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit.
• 5:33
  Speaker 2: And I threw it all away.
• 5:35
  Speaker 1: As soon as I picked up a drink, as soon
• 5:38
  Speaker 1: as I picked up a drug, the Holy Spirit left me. Now,
• 5:43
  Speaker 1: it didn't completely leave my sight, but the truth of
• 5:47
  Speaker 1: the matter is, this is something that we need to understand.
• 5:50
  Speaker 1: As believers and followers of Christ. Especially if we've already
• 5:54
  Speaker 1: allowed the Holy Spirit in. We have to feed that spirit.
• 5:58
  Speaker 1: We have to realize the authority that we do have.
• 6:02
  Speaker 1: As believers and followers of Christ. There are certain spiritual
• 6:06
  Speaker 1: gifts that are given. But here's the kicker before I
• 6:10
  Speaker 1: get into verse 7. You can have all the authority
• 6:14
  Speaker 1: that Jesus Christ has given you. You can have the
• 6:18
  Speaker 1: ability to heal. But if the other person on the
• 6:22
  Speaker 1: other side that needs the healing does not believe, there
• 6:28
  Speaker 1: will be no miracle presented. There has to be some
• 6:33
  Speaker 1: sort of belief system for anything to work. For you
• 6:38
  Speaker 1: to stand on anything, right? Keep this in mind. Keep
• 6:44
  Speaker 1: this in mind. That no matter what you stand on,
• 6:49
  Speaker 1: if you... If you do not believe in anything. You
• 6:54
  Speaker 1: will fall. For everything. And I say this respectfully. Because
• 7:02
  Speaker 1: no matter what. I have always had that belief system.
• 7:08
  Speaker 1: Even when I was doing wrong.
• 7:12
  Speaker 2: So being. It is that. I am.
• 7:17
  Speaker 1: In such a transition period. Or even things just don't
• 7:21
  Speaker 1: comprehend in my mind what's really taking place and the
• 7:26
  Speaker 1: abilities that I do have.
• 7:29
  Speaker 2: But there are a lot of.
• 7:32
  Speaker 1: Energies that we have to encounter every day that can
• 7:38
  Speaker 1: either shake our faith or it can strengthen our faith.
• 7:43
  Speaker 2: Amen?
• 7:43
  Speaker 1: So, verse 7 states, Peter held the man's right hand.
• 7:49
  Speaker 1: And he helped him to stand up. Immediately the man's
• 7:53
  Speaker 1: feet and ankles became strong. The man jumped up and
• 7:58
  Speaker 1: he stood on his feet. Then he began to walk about.
• 8:04
  Speaker 1: He went into the temple with Peter and John. He
• 8:10
  Speaker 1: was walking and jumping and he was praising God.
• 8:13
  Speaker 2: A large crowd of people were there. They saw....
• 8:18
  Speaker 1: That the man was now walking. They heard him as
• 8:21
  Speaker 1: he praised God. They said, look, we know this man.
• 8:27
  Speaker 1: He usually sits at the beautiful gate of the temple
• 8:29
  Speaker 1: and asks people for money.
• 8:31
  Speaker 2: What has happened to him? They were all very surprised.
• 8:36
  Speaker 1: And here's the thing about how.
• 8:39
  Speaker 2: We can apply these verses to our lives, right?
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: Realizing that there are Are times where we're going to
• 8:47
  Speaker 1: make amends. And all amends means is truly apologizing for
• 8:53
  Speaker 1: something you've done.
• 8:54
  Speaker 2: Or the acts.
• 8:58
  Speaker 1: And some people are going to be so surprised. And
• 9:01
  Speaker 1: obviously we're not just straight talking about a disability physically.
• 9:06
  Speaker 1: But mentally, spiritually. There's going to be some people. That
• 9:11
  Speaker 1: are going to ask themselves and ask others what happened.
• 9:15
  Speaker 1: But here's the thing to a caterpillar and to a butterfly.
• 9:19
  Speaker 1: A conversation. I'm going to use a parable. Caterpillar tells
• 9:25
  Speaker 1: the butterfly, Oh, you changed. The butterfly replies.
• 9:31
  Speaker 2: I had to.
• 9:33
  Speaker 1: We all have to come to grips sometimes where we
• 9:35
  Speaker 1: have to realize that there is so much change that
• 9:40
  Speaker 1: needs to take place.
• 9:42
  Speaker 2: And not everybody is going to Care that you have changed.
• 9:49
  Speaker 1: Some people like the version of you that you were.
• 9:53
  Speaker 1: And they are stuck on that version. So I want
• 9:55
  Speaker 1: to make this clear as well. Just because you have authority.

  Speaker 1: does not mean you're going to be able to change
• 10:04
  Speaker 1: the world. The power of prayer and being able to
• 10:07
  Speaker 1: allow the Holy Spirit to go into places, into people,
• 10:13
  Speaker 1: into things, and to honor God. It is not something
• 10:20
  Speaker 1: that is taken lightly or it should not be. And
• 10:25
  Speaker 1: realize that not everybody is one worth saving.
• 10:31
  Speaker 2: And that's hard. That's hard. It's hard to say.
• 10:35
  Speaker 1: Goodbye to certain people when you know that they're not
• 10:37
  Speaker 1: going to change. They're not feeding your purpose. They're not
• 10:40
  Speaker 1: glorifying God. They're staying the exact same or getting worse.
• 10:48
  Speaker 1: But all you can do is pray for these people. Now,
• 10:51
  Speaker 1: if you have the ability to be able to heal
• 10:54
  Speaker 1: and you get an opportunity to do so.
• 10:57
  Speaker 2: I highly encourage you do that as well.
• 10:59
  Speaker 1: So Peter speaks about Jesus to people in the temple.
• 11:03
  Speaker 1: Verse 11, Acts 3. The man was still holding Peter
• 11:07
  Speaker 1: and John as they went into the yard of the temple.
• 11:11
  Speaker 1: All the people were very surprised about what they saw.
• 11:16
  Speaker 1: So they ran to Peter. and John at the place
• 11:19
  Speaker 1: called Solomon's Porch. And we're getting close to the end,
• 11:25
  Speaker 1: but we're going to go ahead and close this out.
• 11:32
  Speaker 1: Peter saw all the people who had come together, so
• 11:35
  Speaker 1: he said to them, People of Israel, you should not
• 11:39
  Speaker 1: be so surprised about what you have seen. You should
• 11:42
  Speaker 1: not look at us as if we ourselves are powerful people.
• 11:45
  Speaker 1: It is not because we obey God that we could
• 11:49
  Speaker 1: cause this man to walk again. It happened because of Jesus,
• 11:54
  Speaker 1: who was the special servant of God. That is the
• 11:56
  Speaker 1: God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and other ancestors who lived
• 12:01
  Speaker 1: long ago. God has raised his servant Jesus up to
• 12:05
  Speaker 1: a place of honor. You helped the rulers to take
• 12:08
  Speaker 1: hold of Jesus. The Roman ruler, Pilate, had decided to
• 12:12
  Speaker 1: let Jesus go free.
• 12:14
  Speaker 2: But you turned against Jesus.
• 12:16
  Speaker 1: Jesus was God's holy one who always did what was right.
• 12:21
  Speaker 1: But you did not accept him. You told Pilate to
• 12:24
  Speaker 1: let another man go free instead of Jesus. That man
• 12:28
  Speaker 1: was in prison because he killed people. But Jesus is
• 12:33
  Speaker 1: the person.
• 12:33
  Speaker 2: Who leads people to true life.
• 12:35
  Speaker 1: When you refused him, it meant that you killed him.
• 12:38
  Speaker 1: But God made him alive again and raised him up
• 12:41
  Speaker 1: from death. We ourselves saw him alive after he had died.
• 12:49
  Speaker 1: And we are telling you about this.
• 12:53
  Speaker 2: Oh, that's so powerful.
• 12:55
  Speaker 1: Now, this is obviously taking place after Jesus resurrected and
• 13:00
  Speaker 1: was raised from the dead. And over 500 eyewitnesses saw
• 13:06
  Speaker 1: Jesus alive.
• 13:09
  Speaker 2: And obviously, he was not physically. He was a ghost.
• 13:13
  Speaker 1: So... When we really sit back and analyze how Jesus
• 13:18
  Speaker 1: not only saved mankind while he was here and did
• 13:25
  Speaker 1: marvelous miracles.
• 13:27
  Speaker 2: He left us a gift. He left us a guider.
• 13:30
  Speaker 1: He left us an authority.
• 13:34
  Speaker 2: In the Holy Spirit.
• 13:35
  Speaker 1: Anybody that is able to obtain the Holy Spirit, hmm.
• 13:41
  Speaker 1: Is way more than any treasures you can be able
• 13:43
  Speaker 1: to obtain. And there's a lot of treasures. You can
• 13:46
  Speaker 1: have a big house. You can have cars.
• 13:49
  Speaker 2: Clothes. The lifestyle. Everything.
• 13:53
  Speaker 1: But you cannot have true authority. In the spiritual realm.
• 13:58
  Speaker 1: If you live for this world completely. I got one minute.
• 14:01
  Speaker 1: And I just want to take this one minute. To
• 14:04
  Speaker 1: dedicate it to the love of my life. I hope
• 14:06
  Speaker 1: that you listen to this. And you realize how strong
• 14:10
  Speaker 1: you are. Mentally, physically, spiritually. You are not going under
• 14:15
  Speaker 1: this attack for no reason. The enemy wants you. But
• 14:19
  Speaker 1: the enemy cannot have you now. I don't take credit
• 14:23
  Speaker 1: in that. I boast in the Holy Spirit. But obviously
• 14:26
  Speaker 1: there had to have been a connection. There had to
• 14:29
  Speaker 1: have been an attraction. An attraction, not promotion like the program.
• 14:34
  Speaker 2: It's the same way the Spirit works.
• 14:38
  Speaker 1: And I'm just so grateful to call you the love
• 14:40
  Speaker 1: of my life as well as A partner that has
• 14:44
  Speaker 1: the same amount of faith as I do now. And
• 14:48
  Speaker 1: will continue to grow. Everything that you're going through is temporary.
• 14:51
  Speaker 1: And the same with anybody else that's battling depression, anxiety, fear.
• 14:56
  Speaker 1: Turn it all over to Jesus.
• 14:57
