- 0:00Speaker 1: Thank you for having us on the radio. 106.7 Light FM.
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's Cubby. It's Christine. It's producer Kristen on a crazy
- 0:07Speaker 1: weather day ahead. It's cloudy now. Got some showers in
- 0:10Speaker 1: the area. Rumor has it it gets partly sunny for
- 0:13Speaker 1: a brief moment later this afternoon and a high of 75.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Then a big line of severe weather will come through
- 0:19Speaker 1: around 6 or 7. I said it. 6, 7. Around
- 0:21Speaker 1: 6 or 7. It's still a thing. Is that still
- 0:24Speaker 1: a thing? Yes. It's been a year now. I'm still
- 0:26Speaker 1: saying it.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 0:26Speaker 1: So yeah. And then that huge unlocking Of cool air.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Comes through and you're going to feel the wind tonight.
- 0:35Speaker 1: It's going to be a windy weekend. Wow. It's going
- 0:37Speaker 1: to feel like Halloween. It's going to feel like we're
- 0:41Speaker 1: falling off our diet.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Actually.
- 0:43Speaker 1: You were just telling me. Yes.
- 0:46Speaker 2: It's tough. I was saying this time of year, actually,
- 0:48Speaker 2: we are, according to researchers, most likely to fall off
- 0:51Speaker 2: our diet. Autumn.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I just started one yesterday, man.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Did you?
- 0:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Autumn is the most likely time that you do fall
- 0:57Speaker 2: off the diet. You're most likely to pick up. Pike
- 0:59Speaker 2: on the pounds or pack on the pounds? Pack on
- 1:02Speaker 2: the pounds in the fall. People eat 11% more food
- 1:04Speaker 2: in autumn than in winter. It's a tough time. 14%
- 1:09Speaker 2: more than in the spring, 12% more than in the summer. Okay,
- 1:12Speaker 2: so I'm trying to think why.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Why?
- 1:14Speaker 2: Are we going for comfort foods because it's starting to
- 1:16Speaker 2: get cold? Are we exposed like we've got all the
- 1:18Speaker 2: Halloween candy?
- 1:19Speaker 1: We've got Thanksgiving coming up. We have Christmas coming up.
- 1:23Speaker 1: But I feel like you can make an excuse. No
- 1:25Speaker 1: matter when you start a diet.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:27Speaker 1: You could start a diet in May and you're going
- 1:29Speaker 1: to go, well, I got a big barbecue. Yeah, there's
- 1:31Speaker 1: a barbecue this weekend. Well, I'll start it in late June. Oh,
- 1:34Speaker 1: we got 4th of July things to do.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Oh, we're traveling. You can't not try the foods when
- 1:38Speaker 2: you travel.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Come on. There's an excuse for everything.
- 1:41Speaker 2: But yeah, supposedly this is the most treacherous time for diets.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Well, if you just started one, hang in there. Maybe
- 1:47Speaker 1: you can do it. Don't listen to us.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Just a quick side note. Can I just mention that
- 1:54Speaker 2: so many of my friends are on the GLP-1s right now?
- 1:58Speaker 1: Oh, the GLPs. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:00Speaker 2: When you go out to dinner with friends who are
- 2:01Speaker 2: on GLP-1s, they stop eating very early on. The one
- 2:06Speaker 2: person at the table who's not on the GLP-1 is
- 2:09Speaker 2: still very hungry, and it's really uncomfortable.
- 2:13Speaker 1: But I've eaten with you, Christine.
- 2:14Speaker 2: You're not on a GLP-1, dude. You're eating normal.
- 2:18Speaker 1: But you eat normal, too. Yes, but I... You feel
- 2:22Speaker 1: weird when they're done.
- 2:23Speaker 2: That's my point. I eat a normal portion. The GLP-1s
- 2:27Speaker 2: make you want like half, right?
- 2:29Speaker 1: Or not even.
- 2:30Speaker 2: So they take like a few bites and then push
- 2:33Speaker 2: the plate away like full. Now, how am I supposed
- 2:36Speaker 2: to keep eating? I can't.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Does she have a point? You think Kristen? Yeah. Yes.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Thank you, Kristen. I can't. So then it's like, okay, fine.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Well now I'm not going to eat.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I'm just going to starve.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:47Speaker 1: You're technically still hungry. Yeah. But you stop because you
- 2:50Speaker 1: feel like, okay, they stop.
- 2:51Speaker 2: It's uncomfortable. And you know how it is when you
- 2:54Speaker 2: go out to dinner. Sometimes you don't eat a lot
- 2:56Speaker 2: the whole day. Cause you know, you're going out to dinner.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Right.
- 2:58Speaker 2: So now I'm like really starving and the food's really good.
- 3:02Speaker 2: And now I'm sitting there going, no, I can't.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Eat it. Well, you know what? It costs too much
- 3:06Speaker 1: to go out anyway. We talked about that last hour,
- 3:09Speaker 1: the price of going out.
- 3:10Speaker 2: It is very expensive. And they should start catering towards
- 3:13Speaker 2: people who are on the GLP-1s and give them smaller
- 3:16Speaker 2: portions because they always take half of it home. Yeah.
- 3:19Speaker 2: But I'm just saying, for the two people who aren't
- 3:22Speaker 2: on it in the world, can I please just eat
- 3:25Speaker 2: a meal and not feel weird? It is.
- 3:27Speaker 1: You're right about the whole... You're being, you're joking about
- 3:30Speaker 1: two people being on it, but like, I feel like
- 3:33Speaker 1: I'm not being on it because it does feel that way.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Everyone's on it.
- 3:35Speaker 2: It feels like everybody is.
- 3:36Speaker 1: I look, it does work. It does work. I tried
- 3:39Speaker 1: it and it does work, but I haven't done it since.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I'm still a little hesitant on the research, but.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I think it's been safe. I mean, my friends have
- 3:47Speaker 2: been doing so well. They feel better on it. They're
- 3:49Speaker 2: doing great. I want to go on it. Come on.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Well, Maybe. We have people in the building that can help.
- 3:55Speaker 1: That's true. All right, let's give something away. We're looking
