- 0:58Speaker 3: Juicy Scoop.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. Today we're going to
- 1:03Speaker 2: get into dating, finding your love. I have the expert herself,
- 1:07Speaker 2: Patti Stanger, formerly of Millionaire Matchmaker, now the matchmaker on
- 1:12Speaker 2: The CW. But you've done so many other things in between.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I've got lots of questions for you. Now let's just
- 1:20Speaker 2: go back to the to when I first discovered you.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Because we've been friends for a long time. We've hung
- 1:25Speaker 2: out in the Hamptons. The early days of Bravo. Yes,
- 1:27Speaker 2: the early days of Bravo.
- 1:28Speaker 5: I was just telling my assistant, she doesn't really understand
- 1:30Speaker 5: because she's only with me a year, and she doesn't
- 1:32Speaker 5: understand that when you, like, she just met Jeff and
- 1:34Speaker 5: Taylor was on.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:35Speaker 5: And we were all talking about early days, making commercials
- 1:38Speaker 5: and stuff. Making commercials with the Bravo cast. Right, we
- 1:40Speaker 5: did Summer by Bravo.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Those were fun.
- 1:42Speaker 5: These big, elaborate commercials, and I just thought, like, God,
- 1:45Speaker 5: it's like going to high school, you know? Because I
- 1:46Speaker 5: just went and did Watch What Happens with Andy- And
- 1:49Speaker 5: I was on his radio show, and I said, God,
- 1:51Speaker 5: it's like being– like I never left. It felt so
- 1:54Speaker 5: good to be home, really.
- 1:56Speaker 2: And now when you– let's talk about how you came
- 2:00Speaker 2: up with Millionaire Matchmaker. Because what has been great– I've
- 2:03Speaker 2: talked about it here on Juicy Scoop– is that I
- 2:06Speaker 2: found it, or they brought it on Netflix. Now it's
- 2:08Speaker 2: also– is it on Peacock, too? But it's on Netflix.
- 2:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm not sure if it's on Peacock. I know
- 2:12Speaker 5: originally we were on Hulu, and then they had their
- 2:14Speaker 5: own HeyRoo, and now it's on Netflix.
- 2:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:17Speaker 5: And they only did two seasons on Netflix. I'm really
- 2:20Speaker 5: praying that Netflix, if you're listening, do all eight seasons,
- 2:24Speaker 5: 107 episodes.
- 2:25Speaker 2: It's a lot. You know, the way the show works
- 2:28Speaker 2: for the two people that don't know is you were working.
- 2:33Speaker 5: I was a real matchmaker.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Working as a matchmaker in the L.A.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Area.
- 2:37Speaker 5: Well, I was nationwide. I started in Vegas in my
- 2:41Speaker 5: dad's garage.
- 2:42Speaker 2: What year?
- 2:43Speaker 5: Oh, I don't even remember. Maybe 1999 or 2000.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Okay.
- 2:46Speaker 5: And my mom was a matchmaker. So is my grandmother
- 2:49Speaker 5: back in New Jersey, but they didn't do it for money.
- 2:51Speaker 5: They did it for the temple. And then I ran
- 2:53Speaker 5: Great Expectations and I learned the oldest dating service in
- 2:56Speaker 5: the country. And I learned the business.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:58Speaker 5: I learned the business, but I thought there was a
- 3:01Speaker 5: hiccup missing. So when I got to LA, I met
- 3:04Speaker 5: Arthur Cohn, who is president of the marketing division of Paramount.
- 3:09Speaker 5: And there wasn't any reality shows other than Survivor and
- 3:13Speaker 5: Behind the Music on VH1. And he kept interviewing me
- 3:17Speaker 5: for a job. And he said, you know, what else
- 3:18Speaker 5: do you do? And I told him I did this
- 3:20Speaker 5: matchmaking on the side to get out of credit card debt.
- 3:22Speaker 5: And he said, that's a show. I go, what are
- 3:24Speaker 5: you talking about that show? He goes, here's the thing.
- 3:26Speaker 5: I can give you a job for 65 grand and
- 3:28Speaker 5: maybe a bonus and you're going to hate it here.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Doing what?
- 3:31Speaker 5: Doing marketing because I was in marketing. I ran in marketing.
- 3:34Speaker 5: And he said, but I'll tell you what you should do.
- 3:36Speaker 5: Go home and think about it because you're going to
- 3:37Speaker 5: end up having a show.
- 3:39Speaker 2: So I said, okay.
- 3:42Speaker 5: And I made these mixers on the side of, at
- 3:45Speaker 5: Bel Air Bar and Grill. Do you remember Bel Air
- 3:46Speaker 5: Bar and Grill?
- 3:47Speaker 1: Yes.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Okay.
- 3:48Speaker 5: That was my place. And CNN came in and they
- 3:51Speaker 5: fell in love with me and they started, you know,
- 3:53Speaker 5: what is this thing about millionaires? It was a time
- 3:55Speaker 5: of Donald Trump and the millionaire was the greatest thing.
- 3:58Speaker 5: Now it's the billionaire.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Right.
- 4:00Speaker 5: And so I did really well. And they wrote an
- 4:02Speaker 5: article about me, which went viral. And it was iVillage
- 4:06Speaker 5: was the first website for women and it went viral.
- 4:09Speaker 5: And next thing you know, agents are calling me, people
- 4:11Speaker 5: are calling me. And Telepictures called me and they said,
- 4:13Speaker 5: we want you to come in and create a TV show.
- 4:16Speaker 5: And it's based on what you do. And I did.
- 4:19Speaker 5: And that was The Bachelor. But it was called The
- 4:20Speaker 5: Millionaire at the time. Terrible agent I had. Screwed me
- 4:24Speaker 5: on the deal.
- 4:24Speaker 2: How did he screw you?
- 4:26Speaker 5: He basically didn't take the offer that they were asking
- 4:28Speaker 5: for and waited for more money. And I told him
- 4:31Speaker 5: to take the deal. And they ended up going with
- 4:33Speaker 5: Mike Fleiss and creating this concept called The Bachelor, which
- 4:37Speaker 5: was really The Millionaire. Because the original first guy was
- 4:39Speaker 5: my millionaire in Beverly Park. who had a helicopter pad.
- 4:43Speaker 2: The first guy on your show?
- 4:45Speaker 5: No, first guy that I did as a real client.
- 4:48Speaker 5: He had a helicopter pad, a second house behind his house.
- 4:51Speaker 5: The girls were going to live there and he was
- 4:53Speaker 5: going to give them jewelry like Tiffany. And we were
- 4:56Speaker 5: going to go from there. And I had three other
- 4:58Speaker 5: millionaires besides the ones they were going to cast. And
- 5:01Speaker 5: several of the millionaires like Firestone, you know, people like
- 5:03Speaker 5: that came from really rich families. And so basically what
- 5:07Speaker 5: happened was I got screwed, fired them, thought my life
- 5:11Speaker 5: was over. And then I called my friends and they said,
- 5:15Speaker 5: you got to go over to Aerie and Aerie who
- 5:17Speaker 5: run Endeavor. And I went to Endeavor, which becomes WMB.
- 5:21Speaker 5: And I waited to the next deal. And I did
- 5:23Speaker 5: a lot of shows on the side, pilots that never
- 5:26Speaker 5: made it. And Bravo saw one. And they said, we
- 5:29Speaker 5: want her. Because I was on another show with four
- 5:31Speaker 5: other people. Christian Onager was on that show.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Who's that?
- 5:33Speaker 5: It was called Self Made. And it was made by
- 5:38Speaker 5: these people that did new screen. They did a Texacab confessions.
- 5:43Speaker 5: And basically they said, we want her. We don't want
- 5:45Speaker 5: anybody else. And that's how it started. And they saw
- 5:47Speaker 5: my concept. My concept was pretty simple. It's basically what
- 5:50Speaker 5: I did in my real life. Two clients a week,
- 5:53Speaker 5: you know, was the idea. And we would make a mixer, male, female, gay, straight.
- 5:59Speaker 5: It didn't matter. And we fix them up and we
- 6:01Speaker 5: watch it go. But I wanted to continue the story.
- 6:04Speaker 5: I ended up becoming a rap show, which that's where
- 6:07Speaker 5: the money is. The back end is in rap because
- 6:09Speaker 5: you could do it out of order. And that's why
- 6:11Speaker 5: people watch the show all over the world because they
- 6:13Speaker 5: can watch.
- 6:13Speaker 2: It out of order. Meaning that one whole show is
- 6:16Speaker 2: one episode.
- 6:18Speaker 5: It doesn't cliff like a housewife show, which I really
- 6:20Speaker 5: wanted to be a housewife show, but they didn't let me.
- 6:23Speaker 5: And then we floated a lot. Like we didn't have
- 6:25Speaker 5: a set night. We floated all over the place and
- 6:27Speaker 5: we just, whatever we did, it worked because Next thing
- 6:30Speaker 5: I know, I had like six episodes and it became
- 6:32Speaker 5: 10 episodes and it became 15 and 18. And I
- 6:36Speaker 5: did a lot of specials with Andy, Valentine's Day specials.
- 6:38Speaker 5: It just kept growing. And we were the back end.
- 6:41Speaker 5: We were the one you sold to other countries and
- 6:43Speaker 5: made a lot of money on it.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Now, in me watching the old ones, I mean... have
- 6:49Speaker 2: you gone back and watched and cringed in your own skin?
- 6:52Speaker 4: Oh my God.
- 6:52Speaker 5: The way my hair looks, how fat I am.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Like I sit there and I go, what was I thinking?
- 6:57Speaker 2: What about the stuff you say to people?
- 6:59Speaker 5: Well, I mean, Andy, Andy, Andy asked me last week
- 7:03Speaker 5: when I did a couple of weeks ago, when I
- 7:04Speaker 5: watched it and he said, Patty, you were so opinionated.
- 7:05Speaker 5: I think it was on his radio show actually. And
- 7:07Speaker 5: I said, um, I have no filter and I told
- 7:11Speaker 5: the truth. Now I have a little more of a
- 7:12Speaker 5: filter because we can get canceled now. We didn't get canceled.
- 7:16Speaker 5: But it was a time of shock therapy. You don't
- 7:20Speaker 5: get Teresa flipping a table or Nini pulling a wig.
- 7:24Speaker 5: off of Kim without shock therapy. And so my shock
- 7:27Speaker 5: therapy was my mouth. I cursed a lot.
- 7:30Speaker 2: It definitely worked.
- 7:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:33Speaker 2: It's a different time. I have to say, because it
- 7:36Speaker 2: is a different time today, it's fucking fun to watch.
- 7:39Speaker 5: Well, the kids are watching it.
- 7:40Speaker 2: I say, go back and watch it because you will die.
- 7:42Speaker 2: The kids are obsessed with it.
- 7:45Speaker 5: And I thought they were going to hate that I
- 7:46Speaker 5: was screaming and yelling and cursing, but the kids are obsessed.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Like on the street corners, wherever I go, kids come
- 7:51Speaker 5: up to me and go, I love this show. When
- 7:54Speaker 5: can we watch the other ones?
- 7:55Speaker 2: And I go, switch off. I think people now, you know,
- 7:57Speaker 2: the pendulum always swings.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:59Speaker 2: So we went very politically correct.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Cancel everybody that says one wrong thing on a tweet
- 8:04Speaker 2: 12 years ago. Right. And now I think people are like,
- 8:08Speaker 2: we don't care.
- 8:08Speaker 5: We really want the truth now.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:10Speaker 5: Because like when I listen to, my god is Bill Maher.
- 8:13Speaker 5: I'm just like, I'm obsessed with him. You know, just
- 8:15Speaker 5: like your comedy, you know, Joan Rivers. Where would Joan
- 8:18Speaker 5: Rivers be today?
- 8:19Speaker 4: Right.
- 8:19Speaker 5: I mean, she is the.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Goddess of all goddesses. It would have been. Who knows
- 8:23Speaker 2: if she would have affected the pendulum because she wouldn't
- 8:27Speaker 2: have put up with it. My favorite show on television
- 8:30Speaker 2: is Hacks. And if you're watching Hacks and you're watching
- 8:32Speaker 2: the Joan Rivers of that show, basically, you know, you
- 8:35Speaker 2: got to have Joan Rivers when you're writing Hacks. It
- 8:38Speaker 2: is so amazing.
- 8:40Speaker 5: How we can't we can't really tell funny anymore. We can't.
- 8:44Speaker 5: We can't look at people and make fun of them
- 8:46Speaker 5: anymore because then we're cruel. It's not cruel. Everybody laughed
- 8:50Speaker 5: along with the joke then.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Okay.
- 8:51Speaker 2: But what is amazing about the show is you have
- 8:53Speaker 2: these girls and I assume they know they're being on TV.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Yes.
- 8:58Speaker 2: But they also have the hopes of maybe meeting somebody.
- 9:01Speaker 2: So they get to be on the Patty Stanger Show
- 9:02Speaker 2: and they also might meet somebody.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:05Speaker 2: But here you are. This is what is amazing. Okay.
- 9:08Speaker 2: So- I get your point of view. I believe you
- 9:11Speaker 2: know what men want of a certain caliber.
- 9:14Speaker 5: I want a millionaire man. Millionaire man.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Yeah, millionaire man.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Different point, yeah.
- 9:16Speaker 2: One of a certain caliber.
- 9:17Speaker 5: And they're sick and twisted.
- 9:18Speaker 2: But then what I thought was so weird, but I
- 9:21Speaker 2: love it for today, but I thought it was weird
- 9:23Speaker 2: back then, is you have these two people that are
- 9:27Speaker 2: basically what I would call punkers. Emo, whatever.
- 9:30Speaker 5: Oh, you mean Dest and Rachel?
- 9:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Okay, Dest and Rachel.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Who....
- 9:36Speaker 5: When Destin came to me, I was in need of...
- 9:39Speaker 5: These are real people. I was in need of an assistant.
- 9:41Speaker 5: I had been the Murphy Brown. If anybody ever watched
- 9:43Speaker 5: Murphy Brown back in the day, I'm dating myself. She
- 9:45Speaker 5: had a revolving door because nobody could be her assistant.
- 9:48Speaker 5: It's like Jeff Lewis. Nobody can make the grade. And
- 9:50Speaker 5: so he called me up. He said, look, Virgin Records
- 9:52Speaker 5: is closing down. I manage Virgin Records. I have a
- 9:56Speaker 5: lot of piercings, a lot of tattoos, whatever. But I'm
- 9:59Speaker 5: a really good... assistant. And he was he was back then.
- 10:02Speaker 5: And so I said, get your ass here. I don't
- 10:04Speaker 5: care what you look like. I just need someone to
- 10:05Speaker 5: do paperwork. And that's how it started.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:08Speaker 2: So then when you start to do the show, they're like,
- 10:10Speaker 2: we like this guy.
- 10:11Speaker 5: They look they the one thing about Bravo at that time.
- 10:15Speaker 5: is that they wanted authenticity. They were not going to,
- 10:18Speaker 5: like they might manufacture things now like a little bit
- 10:21Speaker 5: because they have to keep up with the times. But
- 10:23Speaker 5: back in the day, the camera was shaky, there were
- 10:26Speaker 5: no lights, and they wanted the real grit. That's what
- 10:30Speaker 5: made that show. So every single one of us, like
- 10:32Speaker 5: Jenny worked for Jeff, Jenny got the show for Jeff.
- 10:35Speaker 5: We all actually, Jackie Warner really ran a gym. Tabitha
- 10:39Speaker 5: might have won a contest, but she really worked in
- 10:41Speaker 5: a salon. And we were real people with real jobs.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Rachel Zoe, perfect example. I mean, her staff, look where
- 10:51Speaker 5: they went. So they worked out of her house, and
- 10:54Speaker 5: she went through the dresses every week and said, oh,
- 10:57Speaker 5: I'm so bored. It's the same dress every week. It
- 10:59Speaker 5: was hysterical. We loved all that.
- 11:01Speaker 2: So then he brought in his girlfriend, who also had
- 11:04Speaker 2: like the pink bangs. Who becomes his wife. Now, I
- 11:07Speaker 2: want to know what happened to the two of them.
- 11:10Speaker 5: Well, okay, so they did something. I don't want to
- 11:12Speaker 5: say too much, but they did something that wasn't really
- 11:15Speaker 5: ethical to me. We ended breaking up. They said they
- 11:18Speaker 5: weren't going to go into the love business. They were
- 11:19Speaker 5: going to go into jewelry business. They sort of got
- 11:21Speaker 5: in the love business, but it didn't work, similar to Chelsea.
- 11:24Speaker 5: You know, when you train somebody, You have to expect
- 11:27Speaker 5: that if they like the job, they're going to go
- 11:30Speaker 5: make their own company. And there is an NDA, and
- 11:32Speaker 5: there are certainly logistical things you can't do. And they
- 11:35Speaker 5: did something unethical. I don't want to get into it. Well,
- 11:38Speaker 5: I'm just going to say what I— But Bravo was like,
- 11:41Speaker 5: get rid of them. So we got rid of them.
- 11:43Speaker 5: And then I go do Million Dollar Matchmaker, and Mark,
- 11:45Speaker 5: who's at WE, the president of WE, likes them. So
- 11:48Speaker 5: he brings them back in, and I was horrified. I
- 11:49Speaker 5: was like, I can't work with them.
- 11:51Speaker 2: So wait, wait, wait, wait. Slow down. Okay, so— They
- 11:55Speaker 2: go on their own.
- 11:56Speaker 4: Correct.
- 11:57Speaker 2: You break up.
- 11:57Speaker 5: Yes, correct. We were close and we broke up.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I'm going to guess that they were going to start
- 12:03Speaker 2: their own matchmaking situation or TV show. They went behind
- 12:06Speaker 2: my back to get a TV show. I assume they
- 12:08Speaker 2: got five DMs from fans and thought that they could
- 12:11Speaker 2: handle their own show.
- 12:12Speaker 5: They went to Andy and so did Chelsea.
- 12:15Speaker 4: Oh.
- 12:15Speaker 5: But I would have produced them. You have to understand things.
- 12:17Speaker 5: Unlike Rachel, I would have said- You know, like, Brad
- 12:22Speaker 5: wanted his own show, and he got it. But unlike Rachel,
- 12:24Speaker 5: I would have said, you want a show? Okay, let's
- 12:26Speaker 5: figure out, are you enough? But then their Q scores
- 12:28Speaker 5: don't add up to it.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Right.
- 12:30Speaker 5: So, like, you have to remember, the Q score is everything.
- 12:32Speaker 5: If you don't shine on the Q score, no one's
- 12:34Speaker 5: giving you a show.
- 12:34Speaker 2: And explain what the Q score is.
- 12:36Speaker 5: It's like an analytical version, sorry, an analytical version of,
- 12:41Speaker 5: How important are you to the world? Like, does everybody
- 12:44Speaker 5: know who you are? Do you shine on camera? There's
- 12:47Speaker 5: things called quarter hours. Does the ratings go up in
- 12:50Speaker 5: the quarter hours? Like, they have to analyze you. And
- 12:52Speaker 5: so if it doesn't work, they're not giving you a
- 12:54Speaker 5: TV show. That's just how it works. And people don't
- 12:56Speaker 5: talk enough about the analytics of it. I was very
- 12:59Speaker 5: into the analytics of Bravo. I, like, needed to understand
- 13:02Speaker 5: that so I could create content because I created all
- 13:04Speaker 5: the content.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Right.
- 13:05Speaker 5: And I was a real executive producer. But when Rachel
- 13:08Speaker 5: and Destin leave, Mark brings them back. And I have
- 13:11Speaker 5: to work with them for one season. And they didn't
- 13:13Speaker 5: really shine very much. So they didn't work.
- 13:15Speaker 2: So they came back for the We TV show. Then
- 13:18Speaker 2: you went to the We Network. And they came back
- 13:20Speaker 2: for that. But the love and the chemistry was what?
- 13:23Speaker 2: Kind of lost.
- 13:24Speaker 5: Because I don't forget. You know, I'll be civil and
- 13:27Speaker 5: I'll do my job. But I didn't feel like they
- 13:29Speaker 5: should have been there. And that's just my opinion. But
- 13:30Speaker 5: I played along. Mark wanted them. And, you know, he's
- 13:32Speaker 5: the president. He makes decisions. And I loved him very dearly.
- 13:35Speaker 5: So I would have done anything for him.
- 13:37Speaker 2: But, you know.
- 13:38Speaker 5: When someone burns you and we don't need to go
- 13:40Speaker 5: into details why, you can't forget that in business. You're
- 13:44Speaker 5: not going to trust them again.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I really think that is such a thing about Hollywood
- 13:50Speaker 2: and the assistants. Like recently we joked about– I joked
- 13:53Speaker 2: about on Sandoval.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Yes.
- 13:55Speaker 2: The Sandoval, Sandoval of Vanderpump.
- 13:57Speaker 5: Sandoval, Sandoval.
- 13:58Speaker 2: And there's this– This girl who plays his assistant.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Right.
- 14:02Speaker 2: And, you know, hey, she's an aspiring actress. She's gotten
- 14:06Speaker 2: a few bit parts. And she also is being an
- 14:08Speaker 2: assistant on the side. So she's smart enough to weasel
- 14:12Speaker 2: her way in or find him. And she's on the
- 14:14Speaker 2: show and she's, you know, kind of fun to watch. And,
- 14:17Speaker 2: you know, now she's doing a commercial and all that,
- 14:19Speaker 2: which is completely fine.
- 14:20Speaker 5: But I mean, look at the Ariana effect.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'm just saying that is completely fine. But
- 14:25Speaker 2: I do think sometimes people... You know, get a little
- 14:29Speaker 2: bit of a taste of whatever. And it might be
- 14:31Speaker 2: that they're opening for a stand-up. And I remember this.
- 14:36Speaker 5: I mean, like, Raquel would have been nothing had she
- 14:38Speaker 5: not had the affair with Tom. Like, who was Raquel
- 14:40Speaker 5: before that?
- 14:41Speaker 2: Yeah, she was on the show. But she was the furniture.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Right.
- 14:45Speaker 5: She wasn't Ariana and any of the other girls. She wasn't,
- 14:48Speaker 5: you know, Sheena or anybody like that.
- 14:50Speaker 2: But I do think there's something interesting in them where
- 14:53Speaker 2: somebody– Especially in this day and age of social media,
- 14:55Speaker 2: which wasn't at the level of yours.
- 14:57Speaker 5: Yeah, and we didn't have social media back then.
- 14:58Speaker 2: But you get a few people saying, like, you should
- 15:02Speaker 2: have your own show. You are the one that makes
- 15:04Speaker 2: it happen. You, you. And then I remember, you know,
- 15:08Speaker 2: talking to somebody about this and, you know, oh, my God,
- 15:11Speaker 2: I'm getting all these DMs that I should come to
- 15:13Speaker 2: perform in this city. Okay. And I'm like, okay.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Were they going to be at City Winery because you
- 15:18Speaker 5: were at City Winery?
- 15:19Speaker 2: Yeah. But I'm like, even if you got... Yeah. 100,
- 15:23Speaker 2: 200 people from Chicago saying, come to Chicago. We will
- 15:28Speaker 2: come see you. Probably only 10 of those will actually
- 15:33Speaker 2: buy a ticket. So don't think that just because someone
- 15:38Speaker 2: is DMing you is like that's a real ticket. Those
- 15:41Speaker 2: people that are DMing you are probably living in a
- 15:43Speaker 2: basement with their 90-year-old mother. They're probably never going to
- 15:46Speaker 2: leave the house. I'm just saying.
- 15:47Speaker 5: So it's like, there's tons of people that don't even
- 15:50Speaker 5: have social media that walk around and watch TV and go,
- 15:53Speaker 5: I want a TV show. Tyler did that. Tyler, the medium,
- 15:55Speaker 5: he said, I watched you and I wanted to do
- 15:57Speaker 5: that like in the medium space.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Right.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Okay.
- 15:59Speaker 5: That's great. You had a concept, you had an idea,
- 16:02Speaker 5: but people are walking around without concepts and idea. They
- 16:04Speaker 5: don't understand when you're selling yourself, you're selling a format
- 16:08Speaker 5: to the network and you're selling a format to streamers.
- 16:11Speaker 5: Like Netflix is so strict on what they put up.
- 16:14Speaker 5: I don't think, you know, like The real estate space
- 16:16Speaker 5: is doing really well, so we have Selling Sunset, you know,
- 16:19Speaker 5: like that. But then, you know, Jewish matchmaking did great
- 16:22Speaker 5: for one, did terrible, like, for one season. It didn't
- 16:25Speaker 5: get picked up. But Indian matchmaking was nominated twice for
- 16:28Speaker 5: an Emmy with my production company, and it didn't. You
- 16:30Speaker 5: have to stand alone for very long periods of time
- 16:34Speaker 5: and make yourself special for it to get picked up
- 16:36Speaker 5: every season, every season, every season. Because it's a long game.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Don't people realize that? So wait, you produced a matchmaking
- 16:44Speaker 2: show for... For Indian people.
- 16:46Speaker 4: No, no.
- 16:46Speaker 2: What, what?
- 16:47Speaker 5: No, my production company did Indian matchmaking, which was a
- 16:50Speaker 5: really big hit, but it went away.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Oh, you mean the same production company that did you.
- 16:54Speaker 5: Oh, I thought you meant.
- 16:55Speaker 2: You produced it. They do Selena.
- 16:56Speaker 5: They do all, very big production company.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Excellent.
- 16:59Speaker 5: From Sony. But for them to get picked up every season, okay,
- 17:04Speaker 5: you know, and Netflix has their own analytics. It's not,
- 17:07Speaker 5: it's not like a network. You can't go look at
- 17:09Speaker 5: a rating system. And they keep it very secretive and
- 17:12Speaker 5: very DL. They have their own system. They are the giants.
- 17:15Speaker 5: We're not going to lie. They're the giant. And at
- 17:17Speaker 5: the end of the day, you have to be really
- 17:19Speaker 5: extraordinary to stay every year like on the air, like
- 17:21Speaker 5: Gordon Ramsay. I just did Hell's Kitchen. That man is
- 17:25Speaker 5: a machine. He's kissing you, thanking you for coming all
- 17:29Speaker 5: the way out to Fox. Me and the Bella Twins
- 17:31Speaker 5: just did Hell's Kitchen. We ate for 15 minutes and
- 17:34Speaker 5: we said something and that was it. And I watched
- 17:37Speaker 5: the teams go at each other. I mean, I was
- 17:41Speaker 5: a big fan of the Bear. But this was like
- 17:43Speaker 5: watching the Bear live and watching them really cook. And
- 17:47Speaker 5: it's a restaurant. You pick what you want.
- 17:49Speaker 2: It's insane.
- 17:50Speaker 5: And I said, God, how does this guy do all
- 17:51Speaker 5: these shows? You know, like Lisa Vanderpump. You know, they're
- 17:55Speaker 5: not kids. They're getting older. And I'm in awe of
- 17:58Speaker 5: the two of them, like how they really pull it out.
- 18:00Speaker 5: But you have to have something extraordinary to be there
- 18:03Speaker 5: for a long time. You might get on the air
- 18:04Speaker 5: for 15 minutes. You know, as Andy Warhol said, but
- 18:07Speaker 5: something extraordinary you have to stay.
- 18:09Speaker 2: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 18:12Speaker 2: for it? This exclusive place that Dad has connections with.
- 18:15Speaker 2: They have more cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 18:18Speaker 2: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 18:20Speaker 2: It's Dunaidial.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Where?
- 18:24Speaker 2: Dunaidial.
- 18:25Speaker 5: There's an accent on the E.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Do you mean... Yes, I got it on Dundale Cars.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Lift?
- 18:31Speaker 2: Please. Are you going past Kimmage?
- 18:33Speaker 5: Oh, Kimmage.
- 18:34Speaker 3: No.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Done deal, Cars. You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 18:39Speaker 3: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 18:42Speaker 3: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 18:46Speaker 3: have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have found a
- 18:50Speaker 3: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Life is one long lesson of chaos.
- 18:56Speaker 5: I'm heading to the Emmys, and I have police complaints
- 18:58Speaker 5: filed against me.
- 18:59Speaker 4: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 19:01Speaker 4: what would you do if it was given back?
- 19:04Speaker 3: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 19:07Speaker 3: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 19:09Speaker 2: He said, I have a work dad.
- 19:10Speaker 3: I need a home dad.
- 19:11Speaker 5: What happens next?
- 19:12Speaker 2: When I came in, he started crying.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 19:18Speaker 3: those hard moments that they go through. It's about what
- 19:21Speaker 3: happens next.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I decided to risk it all.
- 19:24Speaker 5: I realized how valuable every day was.
- 19:25Speaker 2: You're worth the work.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 19:29Speaker 2: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 19:31Speaker 3: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 19:45Speaker 2: Now, when we were talking on the phone and setting
- 19:47Speaker 2: up this interview, you.
- 19:50Speaker 2: We were talking about some of the celebrities and reality
- 19:53Speaker 2: stars that we love that are newly single that you
- 19:56Speaker 2: want to help out. So one of the people we
- 20:00Speaker 2: talked about from the Valley was Jax and Britney, which
- 20:03Speaker 2: as each day passes, it seems like they probably.
- 20:07Speaker 5: I don't think they're going to get back together.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I don't think they're going to get back together.
- 20:10Speaker 5: And Andy asked me that, and I said, I don't
- 20:11Speaker 5: think they should. Um, I think, look, Brittany was really strong.
- 20:16Speaker 5: Usually a woman never leaves the home, but when the
- 20:18Speaker 5: home is dysfunctional for the child and the child is
- 20:21Speaker 5: falling apart, I give her props for leaving because I
- 20:23Speaker 5: would have done the same thing. And, um, she's a
- 20:26Speaker 5: beautiful girl. She's incredibly young. She has her whole life
- 20:29Speaker 5: ahead of her. She'll get, she'll get married again. There'll
- 20:30Speaker 5: be another guy. I'm not worried about her. I just
- 20:33Speaker 5: want her to, um, you know, Jax doesn't like being alone.
- 20:37Speaker 5: I love Jack because I've known him forever.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:39Speaker 5: But he doesn't like being alone. And usually it's easier
- 20:41Speaker 5: for the man to move on than the women because
- 20:44Speaker 5: men don't want to feel their feelings. So they go
- 20:46Speaker 5: to the next girl. A woman will spend a year
- 20:49Speaker 5: working on herself like, why did it go wrong? I'm
- 20:51Speaker 5: in therapy. What do I have to do? Where a
- 20:53Speaker 5: man's like, who's next?
- 20:55Speaker 2: Well, it's interesting because I was watching the episode of
- 20:59Speaker 2: The Valley. Yeah. you know, he's like, we'll never get divorced.
- 21:03Speaker 2: We love each other to death. We'll never get to divorce.
- 21:05Speaker 2: And the two guys whose wives have been, you know,
- 21:08Speaker 2: her confidant are like, I think Brittany might feel a
- 21:10Speaker 2: little differently. And of course she, shortly after they wrapped,
- 21:15Speaker 2: she did leave and they are living separately. I've heard
- 21:19Speaker 2: him speak about it. And it sounds like he's like,
- 21:21Speaker 2: we both are on the same page. We both can
- 21:24Speaker 2: date other people.
- 21:26Speaker 5: How could dating other people be helpful in a lot
- 21:28Speaker 5: of ways?
- 21:29Speaker 2: They have to get divorced to date other people. I mean,
- 21:31Speaker 2: I think they just aren't at the point of filing.
- 21:35Speaker 2: But he said we are both fine dating other people.
- 21:39Speaker 5: That's going to hurt.
- 21:40Speaker 2: And we are good co-parenters and we see da-da-da. And
- 21:43Speaker 2: I do believe once you go down that path, it's
- 21:47Speaker 2: very rare that you'd ever want to come back.
- 21:49Speaker 5: No. It's the same thing with Maurizio and Kyle. I mean,
- 21:53Speaker 5: when he said on his show, mom gave me the
- 21:56Speaker 5: green light to date other people. And I was like,
- 21:58Speaker 5: and then Alexis starts crying and I'm like, why don't
- 22:00Speaker 5: you get up and hold her? Like, it was so
- 22:03Speaker 5: weird and awkward. And I love Kyle. So I was like,
- 22:06Speaker 5: I felt so bad. I mean, I'm feeling bad for
- 22:08Speaker 5: all these.
- 22:10Speaker 2: I was just with, I was just.
- 22:11Speaker 5: With Taylor and we were talking about what happened with Russell.
- 22:13Speaker 4: It was horrible.
- 22:14Speaker 5: And I was just thinking about all the marriages that
- 22:16Speaker 5: break up on camera. You know, if you go through
- 22:19Speaker 5: every housewife, there's going to be a lot of breakups there.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Yes.
- 22:22Speaker 2: And I do, I also think though, um, It's when someone, look,
- 22:28Speaker 2: people can fight and everything. And maybe the people that fight, yes,
- 22:32Speaker 2: maybe they should get divorced. But the ones that become indifferent.
- 22:36Speaker 5: That's what it is. That's what the Gottman Institute says.
- 22:39Speaker 5: That's the break of marriage. If you're indifferent, if you're like,
- 22:41Speaker 5: go date other people, I don't care.
- 22:42Speaker 2: You really, really don't care.
- 22:44Speaker 5: When you don't give a shit and you just roll
- 22:46Speaker 5: your eyes, okay, and you're like over that person, it's over.
- 22:50Speaker 5: Gottman Institute scientifically has said that indifference is the cause
- 22:54Speaker 5: of divorce.
- 22:56Speaker 2: So you're right.
- 22:57Speaker 5: You're 100% right.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Yeah. And I also think the breakup of the friendship.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Like if you really, like if you, it's, you know.
- 23:05Speaker 2: If relationships have lulls in sex, you get older, you
- 23:08Speaker 2: don't have as much. It just is a fact. But
- 23:10Speaker 2: if you like don't enjoy each other's company and you
- 23:14Speaker 2: can't laugh and you can't like.
- 23:16Speaker 5: You have to have compatibility.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:18Speaker 2: And you can't go on vacation together. Yeah. What else
- 23:20Speaker 2: is there? Then there really isn't anything.
- 23:22Speaker 5: That's when people are there for the money. There's like, OK,
- 23:24Speaker 5: there's always a payoff. You know, I'm afraid to be alone.
- 23:28Speaker 5: Like they have some reason why they stay, but they
- 23:30Speaker 5: also stray a lot. And by the way, women cheat
- 23:33Speaker 5: more than men scientifically. Did you know that? Statistics show
- 23:37Speaker 5: us we just don't talk about it because we have
- 23:39Speaker 5: shame about it. Men are like bragging in the locker
- 23:42Speaker 5: room and we're like, don't let anybody know.
- 23:44Speaker 2: I saw this famous, well, I don't know if she's famous,
- 23:48Speaker 2: but she's very successful divorce attorney. And she said out
- 23:52Speaker 2: of all the divorces I worked on, only three or
- 23:59Speaker 2: one or two or whatever of where the man filed first.
- 24:03Speaker 2: They always had a girlfriend.
- 24:07Speaker 5: Okay.
- 24:08Speaker 2: But the amount of women that would file that had
- 24:11Speaker 2: no one but just was done with him.
- 24:14Speaker 5: Because women are over it inside the marriage and men
- 24:17Speaker 5: are over it after the marriage.
- 24:18Speaker 2: The men will stay in a bad marriage until their
- 24:22Speaker 2: girlfriend is like. either you're going to get rid of
- 24:27Speaker 2: her and get divorced or you're going to lose me. Otherwise,
- 24:30Speaker 2: they're like, whatever, who cares?
- 24:31Speaker 5: Well, they're getting their cake and eat it too.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:33Speaker 5: Where women are like processing why is it, because a
- 24:36Speaker 5: lot of times women take it on themselves that they're broken.
- 24:38Speaker 5: They're the broken ones until they go to therapy and
- 24:40Speaker 5: they realize, no, you're not broken. The relationship was broken
- 24:45Speaker 5: and neither party wanted to fix it. And by that time,
- 24:49Speaker 5: it's usually too late because if they don't go to
- 24:51Speaker 5: therapy together, I'm not a fan of individual therapy. I
- 24:54Speaker 5: believe you go together in therapy. And the therapist is
- 24:57Speaker 5: somebody you both mutually agree on and is not bipartisan
- 25:01Speaker 5: and listens to both sides of the story and then
- 25:03Speaker 5: gives information back. Doesn't just sit and listen and write down, oh,
- 25:06Speaker 5: our time is up. That's shit.
- 25:08Speaker 2: What do you think, so what kind of guy would
- 25:11Speaker 2: you try to find for Brittany of Jackson Brittany?
- 25:17Speaker 5: Somebody who owns his own business isn't out of the spotlight.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Is out of the spotlight.
- 25:21Speaker 4: Yeah. Mm-hmm.
- 25:22Speaker 5: Like somebody who is a valley boy, has a house, divorced.
- 25:25Speaker 5: He also has a kid. The other thing.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I just thought of that's going to be a hard
- 25:29Speaker 2: sell is, okay, the child is three years old. You
- 25:36Speaker 2: hit it off with Brittany, her sweetness and everything.
- 25:39Speaker 3: But.
- 25:40Speaker 2: You got 12 years of TV to see what it's
- 25:44Speaker 2: going to be like to deal with the stepdad. I mean,
- 25:47Speaker 2: you're going to be the stepdad. I'm saying to deal
- 25:49Speaker 2: with Jax, that might be a deterrent. I'm just saying
- 25:52Speaker 2: if we're looking for guys.
- 25:53Speaker 5: I think if a guy really sexually attracts and really
- 25:55Speaker 5: wants to have another kid with her, I think they'll
- 25:57Speaker 5: be okay.
- 25:58Speaker 1: All right.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Well, that's good. Because I think a.
- 25:59Speaker 5: Lot of times smart men know a lot.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Of it's accessory.
- 26:01Speaker 2: I mean, it would be nice if you got somebody that,
- 26:03Speaker 2: you know, whatever. I don't feel that Jax.
- 26:09Speaker 3: Is.
- 26:10Speaker 2: passionate sexually about Brittany.
- 26:15Speaker 5: Well, she said that.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:16Speaker 2: That's like when the sex died. And that's why I
- 26:18Speaker 2: don't think jealousy.
- 26:20Speaker 5: That's her love language.
- 26:21Speaker 2: That's why I don't think the jealousy would happen. That's
- 26:23Speaker 2: why I think actually, if she did find somebody else
- 26:26Speaker 2: and he was a good guy, I actually, I'm going
- 26:28Speaker 2: to take it back. I actually think Jack's. Could be
- 26:31Speaker 2: cool about it.
- 26:32Speaker 5: We don't know.
- 26:33Speaker 2: We don't know.
- 26:33Speaker 5: He's a Pisces. We don't know. So when you have
- 26:35Speaker 5: a Pisces, it's anybody's game.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Now, why are you so in astrology?
- 26:38Speaker 5: Because I love astrology.
- 26:39Speaker 2: I am just not astrology.
- 26:40Speaker 5: I was an astrologer, so I love it.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Okay, but the thing is, being a matchmaker, astrology. Now,
- 26:46Speaker 2: I feel like, you know, the reason I don't like
- 26:50Speaker 2: astrology for these reasons is I feel that people always say, oh, well,
- 26:53Speaker 2: she's a this and she's a that. But it's more
- 26:55Speaker 2: than that.
- 26:55Speaker 5: And they don't get along. It's more than that.
- 26:57Speaker 2: I know, but like.
- 26:57Speaker 5: You have to do a composite chart. You have to
- 26:59Speaker 5: look at progressions and transits.
- 27:00Speaker 2: But then I'm like, why don't you just... What does
- 27:02Speaker 2: it matter what day we came out on the earth?
- 27:03Speaker 2: Why don't you just try to find someone who in
- 27:06Speaker 2: the moment, not in the stars, you're compatible with?
- 27:08Speaker 5: Well, usually you meet somebody who is hitting a progression
- 27:10Speaker 5: or a transit. Like usually you hit something where, you know,
- 27:13Speaker 5: like I'm having a Pisces transit right now and I
- 27:15Speaker 5: meet a Pisces. That's how it works.
- 27:17Speaker 2: What do you mean a Pisces transit?
- 27:18Speaker 5: Okay, so transit, so progressions and transits are the planets
- 27:22Speaker 5: when they're moving and they're hitting certain parts of your chart.
- 27:25Speaker 5: So it's not just, you know, like a generalization, like
- 27:29Speaker 5: an astrology reading for the day that you read online.
- 27:31Speaker 5: There's a lot more. It's very complicated. It's very math oriented.
- 27:34Speaker 2: What about people that were a product of fertility treatments
- 27:40Speaker 2: and they've been an embryo for 10 years and then
- 27:44Speaker 2: they get born on a certain day does that does
- 27:46Speaker 2: it still about the day you come out of a body.
- 27:49Speaker 5: You come out of the body it's not it's a
- 27:50Speaker 5: day you come out it's not about the day you're
- 27:52Speaker 5: conceived no it's a day i never thought of that
- 27:54Speaker 5: but that's kind of cool i'll i'll go ask my
- 27:56Speaker 5: teacher my teacher that that's a good question for my
- 27:58Speaker 5: teacher yeah it's a day usually come out of the
- 28:00Speaker 5: body okay because technically the soul's not in um The embryo,
- 28:07Speaker 5: as you like to say, when the soul enters the
- 28:10Speaker 5: baby and it comes out, that's why.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Okay, okay. Now, what do you think is going on
- 28:15Speaker 2: with J-Lo and Ben?
- 28:16Speaker 5: I had a boyfriend whose parents were divorced and one
- 28:20Speaker 5: was an addict, okay? And they lived separately but dated
- 28:25Speaker 5: to the rest of their lives.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Dated to each other.
- 28:27Speaker 5: Yeah, and they never went out with anybody else. They
- 28:28Speaker 5: were high school sweethearts and when they got separated- They
- 28:33Speaker 5: decided to live separately and just date. And it was
- 28:35Speaker 5: a better fit.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Was the dad in recovery?
- 28:37Speaker 5: The dad, we didn't have really recovery then, but the
- 28:40Speaker 5: dad drank. But later he dies of a heart attack.
- 28:42Speaker 5: The point I'm making is I said to TMZ, I
- 28:45Speaker 5: wouldn't be surprised if they date separately for a while.
- 28:49Speaker 2: You mean live separately?
- 28:50Speaker 5: Well, they're already living separately. But date, like in other words,
- 28:53Speaker 5: they're living separately and they're dating each other and still
- 28:56Speaker 5: doing things with the kids like as though they're married,
- 28:57Speaker 5: but they just don't live together.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I think that that can work.
- 29:02Speaker 5: There are arrangements like that.
- 29:03Speaker 2: I mean, I think there's a luxury in having your
- 29:05Speaker 2: own rooms in the house.
- 29:07Speaker 5: I've seen people have separate rooms, but in this case,
- 29:10Speaker 5: it's separate houses. And he looks more relaxed since he's
- 29:14Speaker 5: moved out. He doesn't look in the— when I see them
- 29:16Speaker 5: in the pictures and stuff together, he doesn't look as
- 29:18Speaker 5: stressed out as he looked before. Like he's got his
- 29:21Speaker 5: life back in some way. And, you know, she wanted
- 29:24Speaker 5: things a certain way. But when you date an addict
- 29:27Speaker 5: and you know the person's an addict— my dad was an
- 29:28Speaker 5: alcoholic— it is very difficult when you're not an addict
- 29:33Speaker 5: and you want to drink. And she owns an alcohol company.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Well, that whole thing is strange because she really barely drank.
- 29:39Speaker 2: She used to say I have one glass of champagne
- 29:41Speaker 2: a year. And then she started an alcohol company. But
- 29:43Speaker 2: maybe she likes it or maybe she just can't turn
- 29:46Speaker 2: down an opportunity.
- 29:47Speaker 5: Well, she drank at the Grammys.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Oh.
- 29:50Speaker 2: I remember like, you know, Kim used to say she didn't,
- 29:54Speaker 2: Kim Kardashian said.
- 29:55Speaker 5: She used to drink and then she was drinking.
- 29:57Speaker 2: But then I heard different stories of back in the
- 29:59Speaker 2: day she was partying with Paris too. So who knows?
- 30:01Speaker 5: The bottom line is it's very difficult when you, I
- 30:05Speaker 5: don't drink, but when you drink and the person, you know,
- 30:10Speaker 5: doesn't or vice versa. Like, cause, cause in his case,
- 30:14Speaker 5: you know, I'm sure Jen was even killed. She doesn't
- 30:15Speaker 5: seem like she's the life of the party, alcohol or
- 30:17Speaker 5: drug wise, Jen Gardner. She was like a real mom
- 30:20Speaker 5: to him in a lot of ways. And I guess
- 30:22Speaker 5: in the same way, he wanted that again. I mean,
- 30:24Speaker 5: it's very difficult. Look at Matthew Perry. It's very difficult
- 30:27Speaker 5: when you're an addict. It's incredibly hard. And it is
- 30:30Speaker 5: very hard on the family. You know, you've got to
- 30:32Speaker 5: go to Al-Anon. You've got to understand why they do it.
- 30:34Speaker 5: And you're always like, they're the ones that could cause
- 30:37Speaker 5: a problem.
- 30:38Speaker 2: They're depressed.
- 30:39Speaker 5: It's always about them.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 30:41Speaker 5: And that's very hard for her because she wants to
- 30:43Speaker 5: be about her.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Okay, I have some questions.
- 30:47Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 30:48Speaker 2: That people brought in. I'm 46 and I've lived with
- 30:52Speaker 2: my boyfriend who's 58 for three years. He is twice
- 30:55Speaker 2: divorced and does not want to get married. So he says,
- 30:59Speaker 2: I never have been, but I would want that security
- 31:02Speaker 2: and commitment that marriage brings. What can I say or
- 31:05Speaker 2: do to help change his mind?
- 31:07Speaker 5: This is something that's going to be really hard to hear. Okay.
- 31:10Speaker 5: And I've dealt with this all the time. Older women
- 31:13Speaker 5: in these types of situations, you can't change his mind.
- 31:17Speaker 5: You can only change your mind. Which is if you
- 31:19Speaker 5: want to get married, stay the course, give him an ultimatum,
- 31:23Speaker 5: tell him like, look, I love you to death, but
- 31:25Speaker 5: I want to get married. I need the feeling of
- 31:27Speaker 5: the security. I know you've been divorced and had a
- 31:29Speaker 5: bad turn at bat, you know, but you need to
- 31:32Speaker 5: need to think about this because I'm going to leave
- 31:33Speaker 5: and find somebody who wants to get married. That's how
- 31:36Speaker 5: strong you have to be. It's very difficult.
- 31:38Speaker 2: And if you're not willing to leave, then don't fucking
- 31:40Speaker 2: say it.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Right.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Then don't say it and just accept that you may
- 31:44Speaker 2: never get married.
- 31:45Speaker 5: But it's very hard because when you want the dream
- 31:48Speaker 5: of marriage and they're not giving it to you, you've
- 31:51Speaker 5: just dumbed yourself down and you're taking sloppy seconds because
- 31:55Speaker 5: you should be able to have what you want. There's
- 31:57Speaker 5: nothing wrong with getting married.
- 31:59Speaker 2: The other thing is I think that you could maybe
- 32:01Speaker 2: do if you're in this situation is to say, look,
- 32:06Speaker 2: you don't want to get married. I get it. You're
- 32:08Speaker 2: twice divorced. But I just need to have some type
- 32:13Speaker 2: of other security. So make sure you're like included in
- 32:16Speaker 2: the will. Maybe he gets you an apartment building or something.
- 32:20Speaker 5: Spiritual ceremony and then you get the money. I got it.
- 32:23Speaker 2: But you get some type of property or something that
- 32:26Speaker 2: if something was to happen to him.
- 32:27Speaker 3: Right.
- 32:27Speaker 2: And the adult kids don't want anything.
- 32:30Speaker 5: Because they'll come and take everything.
- 32:31Speaker 2: And the adult kids want nothing to do with you.
- 32:33Speaker 5: They'll go to probate on it.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Even though you've been the greatest partner to him for
- 32:36Speaker 2: 15 years, you know. you might get real screwed. So
- 32:39Speaker 2: you got to make sure.
- 32:40Speaker 5: That's what I would also suggest. I know somebody right
- 32:42Speaker 5: now in the same situation and she's given up her
- 32:45Speaker 5: dream of having, getting married because he doesn't want to.
- 32:48Speaker 5: He had a bad marriage. And I thought, what am I,
- 32:50Speaker 5: and she's living with him and has no money, no security.
- 32:54Speaker 5: And you know, he could die tomorrow and she's done.
- 32:57Speaker 5: She's screwed. And she's like 57.
- 33:00Speaker 2: The other thing nobody talks about too is, which is sad, is,
- 33:04Speaker 2: you know, if you are that, um, second or I
- 33:08Speaker 2: feel like this happens more with like a third wife
- 33:10Speaker 2: almost where you, you know, it's like you have the
- 33:14Speaker 2: stigma of being the third wife, but you're not this
- 33:15Speaker 2: hot young thing. You were with the guy for 18 years.
- 33:18Speaker 2: You were fabulous and good. And you think everything's great
- 33:21Speaker 2: with his kids and everything. And then unfortunately your husband
- 33:25Speaker 2: or partner dies. And those kids are like, we don't
- 33:31Speaker 2: give a shit about you. Like you were the third wife.
- 33:33Speaker 2: I don't care. And here you were that step-mom that like,
- 33:37Speaker 2: made Christmas and holidays beautiful.
- 33:39Speaker 5: But they don't care. They just want the money at.
- 33:41Speaker 4: The end of the day.
- 33:41Speaker 2: You were the step grandma to these kids and you
- 33:43Speaker 2: don't see them ever. And like, I think you also
- 33:47Speaker 2: have to be really honest about that too, that that
- 33:50Speaker 2: could happen. As lovely as these kids are being to
- 33:52Speaker 2: you when they come to visit your husband and your
- 33:55Speaker 2: husband gives them a down payment on the house.
- 33:57Speaker 5: And all that. Look, if the man really loves you,
- 33:58Speaker 5: he's going to make you feel secure.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Right.
- 34:01Speaker 5: And that's something you'd never want to talk about because
- 34:03Speaker 5: it sounds awful that you have to plead and beg
- 34:05Speaker 5: to get what you want. But Life is a negotiation,
- 34:08Speaker 5: so you better negotiate.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Good point. Oh, this is a millionaire matchmaker question from
- 34:16Speaker 2: one of your shows. I'm watching old episodes. What happened
- 34:19Speaker 2: with your fiance?
- 34:20Speaker 5: I wasn't engaged. Why do they keep thinking, David? They
- 34:23Speaker 5: always think I'm engaged.
- 34:24Speaker 2: You were never engaged to that guy?
- 34:25Speaker 5: Or maybe they're talking about Andy, but they never showed Andy.
- 34:28Speaker 5: Didn't you have a heart-shaped diamond ring?
- 34:30Speaker 2: Yes, that is true. I broke it off.
- 34:32Speaker 5: I wasn't in love with him.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Oh.
- 34:34Speaker 5: I was best friends with him. We went out for
- 34:36Speaker 5: five years together. And I got engaged. And then I
- 34:39Speaker 5: went on another three more years. And I just, it
- 34:41Speaker 5: wasn't the right fit for me. He's a very wonderful man, though.
- 34:45Speaker 2: There is an episode where I think you meet with
- 34:48Speaker 2: a psychic who says you're not going to get married.
- 34:50Speaker 5: Yeah, I think so. I think I did have that.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:52Speaker 5: It was a long time ago.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:54Speaker 5: But then I like went out with David and they
- 34:55Speaker 5: all think that David and I got engaged. It was
- 34:57Speaker 5: so strange.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Because he was featured on the show.
- 34:59Speaker 5: Yes, he was on the show.
- 35:00Speaker 3: Yes.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Now, what about people that criticize you being saying, That
- 35:04Speaker 2: because you've never gotten married, therefore you should not be
- 35:07Speaker 2: giving advice.
- 35:09Speaker 5: I'm a really good matchmaker. What I do in my
- 35:11Speaker 5: day job is really good. I have a lot of success.
- 35:15Speaker 5: And I know what I'm doing. Just because I'm not married,
- 35:17Speaker 5: you can't judge me. But then again, you know, Belichick
- 35:20Speaker 5: didn't win the Super Bowl when Tom Brady won all
- 35:22Speaker 5: those rings. So it is what it is. I'm really
- 35:25Speaker 5: good at what I do. I have a good track record.
- 35:28Speaker 5: And I have a trauma from childhood. I'm adopted. And
- 35:32Speaker 5: then I had an alcoholic dad. That was abusive to
- 35:35Speaker 5: us since, like, I was very small. And so I
- 35:37Speaker 5: have my own journey to go on. But nobody, I mean,
- 35:40Speaker 5: I get guys. It's just that I don't want to
- 35:41Speaker 5: get married. My biggest problem is I have more money
- 35:43Speaker 5: than the men, and I don't want to go through
- 35:45Speaker 5: that experience.
- 35:46Speaker 2: Right.
- 35:47Speaker 5: And I went through it twice, and I hated it.
- 35:49Speaker 5: I hated it.
- 35:50Speaker 2: And, again, marriage is not anything. I mean, it's one
- 35:53Speaker 2: thing if, like, Patty, you've never had a boyfriend. Well,
- 35:56Speaker 2: that's not the case.
- 35:56Speaker 5: No, I've been engaged twice.
- 35:57Speaker 2: And a lot of women don't want to get married
- 35:59Speaker 2: at this point. I always get guys.
- 36:01Speaker 5: Like, I always get guys. I'm looking for a certain
- 36:03Speaker 5: type of guy. I'm super spiritual. I want somebody who
- 36:05Speaker 5: makes more money or equal to me. You know, there's
- 36:08Speaker 5: things that I want and I haven't seen yet. So, like,
- 36:10Speaker 5: I'm not going to settle.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Okay. I met my guy on Sugar Baby.
- 36:16Speaker 5: I never even heard of that. Sugar Baby. That's a
- 36:18Speaker 5: new one. Yeah, like an arrangement, like arrangement.com, but I've
- 36:22Speaker 5: never heard of sugarbaby.com.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I think that there's a few.
- 36:26Speaker 5: Okay.
- 36:27Speaker 2: He is not married, but says he likes our situation.
- 36:30Speaker 2: He's 51, a businessman. plays golf and is in shape,
- 36:35Speaker 2: and the sex is hot. He gives me 6K a
- 36:38Speaker 2: month and flies me to meet him about twice a month.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Okay.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Besides some phone sex in between, it's fun, fabulous weekends,
- 36:45Speaker 2: including shopping and facials charged to the room while he golfs.
- 36:49Speaker 2: I'm 26, but I do want more. How do I
- 36:53Speaker 2: up this relationship? I think about him all the time,
- 36:56Speaker 2: and I actually really want to be with him.
- 36:58Speaker 5: This is dangerous because she's oxytocin bonded, so this is
- 37:01Speaker 5: a scientific problem. So she's already in love. Her brain
- 37:06Speaker 5: is telling her she's in love. He's 51. She's 26.
- 37:09Speaker 5: He doesn't probably want children. She'll probably want kids by
- 37:12Speaker 5: the time she gets 30. This is a dangerous road
- 37:14Speaker 5: she's going down. I don't recommend this. You know, gimme
- 37:18Speaker 5: girls are usually cold girls.
- 37:20Speaker 2: What do you call gimme girls? Gimme girls are claw girls.
- 37:23Speaker 5: They're cold girls that want materialistic items and don't want
- 37:27Speaker 5: a relationship with them. with the mark, as they like
- 37:32Speaker 5: to call it. In her case, she fell in love
- 37:34Speaker 5: with her mark, which is dangerous. She's in a dangerous place.
- 37:37Speaker 5: I would get out of that relationship. That's unhealthy. He's
- 37:41Speaker 5: not going to give her what she wants. There's too
- 37:43Speaker 5: much of an age difference. He wants an arrangement. He's
- 37:46Speaker 5: a businessman. His brain is working. Sex is an arrangement.
- 37:49Speaker 5: She's thinking sex is love. At 26, I mean, her
- 37:54Speaker 5: brain is not fully formed like a human being.
- 37:55Speaker 2: And also, he can find another 26-year-old girl that will
- 37:58Speaker 2: meet him In San Francisco for the weekend.
- 38:01Speaker 5: And the other thing is, here's the thing. You have
- 38:04Speaker 5: to be on call for the amount of the contract.
- 38:06Speaker 5: So if he says, I need you these two weekends,
- 38:08Speaker 5: you have to do it. But during the downtime, I
- 38:11Speaker 5: pull away. I wouldn't answer so fast. You're not on
- 38:13Speaker 5: the clock.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:15Speaker 5: So are you allowed to date other people? Is that
- 38:18Speaker 5: part of the contract? Because if you're owned by him
- 38:21Speaker 5: and you can't date anybody else, then he's got the
- 38:24Speaker 5: upper hand and you're screwed.
- 38:26Speaker 2: I think the sugar baby, sugar daddy situation is extremely dangerous.
- 38:31Speaker 5: That's what I think.
- 38:32Speaker 2: And I think it could be fun.
- 38:35Speaker 5: It leads to narcissism and sociopathicness. And what it does
- 38:40Speaker 5: is it makes you believe that you are a commodity,
- 38:43Speaker 5: an object to be adorned. And then what happens when
- 38:47Speaker 5: you lose your looks and you age out? That's not love.
- 38:50Speaker 5: You want love? Love is not that at all.
- 38:54Speaker 2: I think.
- 38:56Speaker 2: You know, I think it, like, I think OnlyFans or
- 39:00Speaker 2: something like that is way, a safer bet there's a
- 39:04Speaker 2: distance right there's a distance and there's a safer bet.
- 39:07Speaker 5: Stars this is not a porn situation this is this.
- 39:10Speaker 2: Is actual sex i almost think this is.
- 39:11Speaker 5: Like no but she's in love with him and this
- 39:14Speaker 5: is companion sex.
- 39:15Speaker 2: Well she yeah she became i think she's just loving
- 39:18Speaker 2: the idea of it all yeah she wants i did
- 39:20Speaker 2: have a girl come to my show and she was
- 39:23Speaker 2: pretty and the guy she was with was cute and
- 39:25Speaker 2: not much older than her like maybe he was early
- 39:28Speaker 2: forties and she was, and she came to my meet
- 39:31Speaker 2: and greets for a few years ago. And she goes,
- 39:34Speaker 2: I'm engaged. And it was my, and it is my
- 39:36Speaker 2: sugar dad.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Yes.
- 39:37Speaker 5: Cause she didn't want to be, but I, She didn't
- 39:40Speaker 5: want to what? In other words, the ones that get
- 39:41Speaker 5: engaged that I've studied and I've studied this.
- 39:43Speaker 2: From the sugar baby, sugar daddy situation.
- 39:45Speaker 5: Or like they could live with that or live with them.
- 39:47Speaker 5: Then they get nervous you're going to find somebody better.
- 39:50Speaker 5: So they offer the ring. I've seen that a lot.
- 39:53Speaker 5: But it's the girl who doesn't want the ring. The
- 39:55Speaker 5: one that wants the ring doesn't get the ring. So
- 39:57Speaker 5: it's kind of twisted.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Well, I think it's a rarity too.
- 40:02Speaker 5: And usually those girls have more than one guy on
- 40:04Speaker 5: the ropes. It's a very rare situation.
- 40:06Speaker 3: Right.
- 40:07Speaker 5: You know?
- 40:08Speaker 1: Um.
- 40:09Speaker 2: How do I get my man to pay for more
- 40:12Speaker 2: than dinner and trips without appearing to be a gold
- 40:15Speaker 2: digger who is using him? It's just that I know
- 40:18Speaker 2: he can afford it and a few grand a month
- 40:21Speaker 2: and a credit card to shop would make a world
- 40:23Speaker 2: of difference to me.
- 40:24Speaker 5: God, these women that come to you. First of all,
- 40:29Speaker 5: if he's not that type of man, it's not going
- 40:31Speaker 5: to work because he might come from poverty conscious as
- 40:34Speaker 5: a child and think like, you know, I gave you enough,
- 40:37Speaker 5: even though I've got my piles of money over here.
- 40:39Speaker 5: You have to understand the mind of his money. Where's
- 40:42Speaker 5: his money mind coming from? But if he's generous, then
- 40:46Speaker 5: you can just say, look, I need this to feel secure.
- 40:50Speaker 5: And my love language is gifts and cash. I need
- 40:54Speaker 5: to feel that way. And if he runs away, he
- 40:56Speaker 5: runs away. But if he doesn't, yeah, like that's my
- 40:59Speaker 5: love language. But if he comes from that family where
- 41:02Speaker 5: they don't spend more than they should, even though he's rich,
- 41:05Speaker 5: like a Warren Buffett type, you know, you're screwed because
- 41:08Speaker 5: that's where they think. They think like that. A lot
- 41:11Speaker 5: of men are like that. They got a lot of
- 41:13Speaker 5: money and they don't spend it like the way the
- 41:14Speaker 5: woman thinks they should.
- 41:16Speaker 2: And then I think there's guys that love to give
- 41:22Speaker 2: the gifts and the shoes and all that stuff. And
- 41:24Speaker 2: the girls love it.
- 41:26Speaker 5: That's how they get the girl.
- 41:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:27Speaker 2: And it's to them. It's like not a big deal.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Like for them to drop. For someone themselves, as a woman, oh,
- 41:33Speaker 2: my God, I've never spent $ 1, 000 on a pair of shoes.
- 41:35Speaker 2: But to a guy, they don't even realize that you
- 41:39Speaker 2: could get shoes for $ 34. So they're like, oh, all
- 41:42Speaker 2: my girlfriends have to have the red heels. One of
- 41:45Speaker 2: my friends has a client.
- 41:46Speaker 5: She's a matchmaker. And the guy literally was bitching that
- 41:48Speaker 5: his last girlfriend, he had to buy her a Chanel
- 41:50Speaker 5: every two weeks. And the Chanel's are, you know, $ 8, 000 now.
- 41:53Speaker 5: And so– But then he goes to the next girl
- 41:58Speaker 5: after they break up. And that's what he leads with that.
- 42:00Speaker 5: He leads with the Chanel. So you lead with your money.
- 42:02Speaker 5: You get what you deserve in the end.
- 42:04Speaker 2: And for girls that are not getting married to these guys,
- 42:08Speaker 2: the reason they do want the Chanel's is because that
- 42:11Speaker 2: is their safety net. They go up with money. They're good.
- 42:16Speaker 5: I have a best friend who's engaged to a man
- 42:19Speaker 5: who's worth $ 100 million. And I basically tell her, how
- 42:22Speaker 5: much shopping can you do at the end of the day?
- 42:23Speaker 5: If you don't like him, what's the point?
- 42:25Speaker 1: Right.
- 42:26Speaker 5: Because you're going to hit the shopping wall and you're
- 42:28Speaker 5: going to be like, I don't want to fuck him.
- 42:30Speaker 5: I don't want to spend time with him. He annoys me.
- 42:32Speaker 5: He this, he that. And then, like, you have nothing
- 42:35Speaker 5: at the end of the day.
- 42:36Speaker 3: Nothing.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Who cares?
- 42:37Speaker 5: It's like you want your best friend at the end
- 42:39Speaker 5: of the day that you can fuck. Like, everybody needs
- 42:41Speaker 5: to get that through their heads.
- 42:42Speaker 2: And I think the same thing. I'm like, yeah, you
- 42:44Speaker 2: have all these bags.
- 42:45Speaker 5: Who cares?
- 42:46Speaker 2: So that when you walk into a store, the person
- 42:49Speaker 2: that works at the store will give you a little
- 42:51Speaker 2: more attention than if you didn't have that bag. But
- 42:53Speaker 2: you're right.
- 42:54Speaker 5: Who cares?
- 42:56Speaker 2: But I remember when I interviewed Erika Jayne years ago.
- 43:00Speaker 2: she was telling me her life story and, you know,
- 43:02Speaker 2: she married Girardi and for the first 10 years it was,
- 43:07Speaker 2: she was his companion. She got to go to all
- 43:08Speaker 2: these great dinners and these trips and she got to
- 43:10Speaker 2: buy whatever she wanted. And right before she started to
- 43:13Speaker 2: pursue the singing and the show, she said, I was like,
- 43:17Speaker 2: how many more bags and jewelry do I need? Like,
- 43:21Speaker 2: who cares?
- 43:22Speaker 3: Right.
- 43:22Speaker 5: It's that's, that's basically it.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:24Speaker 5: I mean, you can only get so much. And if
- 43:26Speaker 5: you're that kind of a woman, um, then you're not
- 43:28Speaker 5: really right in the head. You need to get therapy
- 43:30Speaker 5: because it's not healthy the way you think. Because your
- 43:32Speaker 5: thinking process is intimacy. You want intimacy. That's what people
- 43:36Speaker 5: don't get. Chanel purses, as great as we love them,
- 43:39Speaker 5: they're not intimacy bonders. The guy's giving it to you
- 43:43Speaker 5: because he wants to own you and keep you. He's
- 43:46Speaker 5: not giving it out of the goodness of his heart
- 43:48Speaker 5: in those cases. It's different when the guy just goes
- 43:50Speaker 5: randomly buys you a purse or You know, like it's
- 43:53Speaker 5: your birthday or something. But it's not like he has
- 43:55Speaker 5: to do it weekly and give you this much money.
- 43:59Speaker 5: They're called claw women. Pat Allen coined it back in
- 44:02Speaker 5: the day, Dr. Pat Allen, who was on my show
- 44:03Speaker 5: many times.
- 44:05Speaker 4: Oh, okay. Yeah.
- 44:06Speaker 5: And there is a subset of character of that. And
- 44:08Speaker 5: there's claw men, too. Let's not forget, as much as
- 44:11Speaker 5: there are sugar girls, there's sugar boys. And they come
- 44:15Speaker 5: everywhere on street corners in L.A.
- 44:17Speaker 2: Let's talk about that because I think I've seen an
- 44:20Speaker 2: influx of that.
- 44:22Speaker 5: Way more than we've ever had.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Yes.
- 44:24Speaker 2: And I think it is an element of there are
- 44:27Speaker 2: these guys that are pushing 40 that are cute and
- 44:33Speaker 2: they can be helpful and all of that.
- 44:36Speaker 5: They're carpenters and never made it.
- 44:38Speaker 2: Exactly. They never made it. They don't own property. And
- 44:41Speaker 2: they're smart, though, because they see a woman who's maybe
- 44:44Speaker 2: like my age and divorced and fit and fun. And,
- 44:48Speaker 2: you know, down to have sex and have fun, who
- 44:50Speaker 2: can provide a lifestyle for them. They don't want to
- 44:53Speaker 2: have kids. I don't want to have kids. And it
- 44:55Speaker 2: can be kind of a good match. I don't think
- 44:57Speaker 2: it's a negative.
- 44:58Speaker 5: I don't think it's a bad combination. They're beta and
- 45:00Speaker 5: the woman's alpha. So the alpha pays and does all
- 45:03Speaker 5: the cash and the fun and good zine prizes, you know,
- 45:05Speaker 5: like takes them on the vacations, all that stuff. And
- 45:08Speaker 5: the beta is okay with being taken care of. But
- 45:10Speaker 5: an alpha man would not like that. He would be like,
- 45:12Speaker 5: I feel uncomfortable taking your money. I don't care if
- 45:16Speaker 5: we have to go to Olive Garden. We're going to
- 45:17Speaker 5: Olive Garden versus Spago. It's a different kind of mindset.
- 45:23Speaker 2: What would be kind of interesting is to talk to
- 45:25Speaker 2: a mom who has that 37-year-old failure-to-launch son, but he
- 45:32Speaker 2: is cute. He can fix a few things around the house.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Maybe he was a surfer. He's dabbled in a few
- 45:38Speaker 2: different businesses. He never got married, didn't have kids. And
- 45:42Speaker 2: then he meets that– The rich girl. 50-year-old woman who
- 45:48Speaker 2: looks 35 but is divorced and has her own business.
- 45:52Speaker 2: I mean, I would be like, I mean, sure, maybe
- 45:55Speaker 2: I'd like my own grandchildren. Let me tell you something.
- 45:57Speaker 2: I'd be like, go for that.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Why not?
- 45:58Speaker 5: When I was engaged to Andy, his parents were so
- 46:02Speaker 5: gung-ho on us getting married because he had a nothing
- 46:05Speaker 5: job in government. And then he had real estate that
- 46:08Speaker 5: was going to be inherited to him. He had a
- 46:10Speaker 5: lot of money that will come to him one day.
- 46:11Speaker 5: But in the early days, like she wanted me to
- 46:14Speaker 5: take care of him. I made more money. I was
- 46:15Speaker 5: killing it at Bravo. I had endorsement deals and she
- 46:18Speaker 5: liked me taking care of him. I was turned off
- 46:20Speaker 5: by that. I was like, I don't like this. This
- 46:22Speaker 5: doesn't feel because I wasn't raised that way. I was
- 46:25Speaker 5: raised where my dad took care of my mom. And
- 46:27Speaker 5: so it felt unnatural to me.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Do you know where he is today at all?
- 46:31Speaker 5: He every now and then I'll get like a text.
- 46:33Speaker 5: Happy birthday. He's got a girlfriend. He's fine.
- 46:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Do you ever have kids?
- 46:37Speaker 5: No, and he never got married. He had an issue again.
- 46:39Speaker 5: I don't know. When I went and did it, I
- 46:41Speaker 5: did a stand-up show with this, the Great Love Debate
- 46:45Speaker 5: in Orange County. And a woman stood up and she said,
- 46:48Speaker 5: they didn't screen the questions, and she's like, I'm dating
- 46:52Speaker 5: your ex and he's messed.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Up because of you.
- 46:54Speaker 5: What did you do to him?
- 46:56Speaker 2: Oh, my God, in the show?
- 46:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:57Speaker 2: And what did you say?
- 46:59Speaker 5: I said I did nothing to him. I said I
- 47:00Speaker 5: decided this wasn't the right relationship for me. And he
- 47:04Speaker 5: was very controlling in the end. He was a typical Leo.
- 47:06Speaker 5: very controlling in the end, and I didn't like the
- 47:08Speaker 5: way it made me feel. I'm sorry.
- 47:10Speaker 2: Are you aware of what's going on on the show
- 47:13Speaker 2: Summer House with Lindsay and Carl?
- 47:15Speaker 5: You know, I was just with Amanda on.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Amanda from the show. Yes, and she kind of explained.
- 47:21Speaker 5: Well, Andy and Amanda kind of explained it to me,
- 47:24Speaker 5: and He wants to get married and she doesn't. Is
- 47:26Speaker 5: that the one? So, so that's what you told me.
- 47:30Speaker 2: So Lindsay and Carl were platonic best friends that came
- 47:34Speaker 2: on the show eight years ago. And every summer they
- 47:36Speaker 2: go into the summer house and there's fights and there's,
- 47:39Speaker 2: you know, but they're the staples along with Amanda and Kyle.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Like the four of them, I think have been from
- 47:45Speaker 2: the very beginning and people have come and gone. Right.
- 47:47Speaker 2: Like Hannah Burner was on and then she did her
- 47:48Speaker 2: own thing. And so then all of a sudden it
- 47:52Speaker 2: was like the two best friends, like a romantic comedy
- 47:54Speaker 2: and fall in love. And a year after them announcing
- 47:58Speaker 2: to the world that they're in love, they get engaged.
- 48:00Speaker 2: And a year after the engagement is the next summer,
- 48:04Speaker 2: we see them, the wedding is looming, they're fighting, they're miscommunicating,
- 48:09Speaker 2: they're like, it's just a nightmare.
- 48:11Speaker 5: But is that the scene where he says to her,
- 48:14Speaker 5: I don't want to get married?
- 48:15Speaker 2: Yes, so that just happened. And that just happened. Well,
- 48:17Speaker 2: we see it just happen. It happened like last fall.
- 48:20Speaker 5: And So he doesn't want to get married.
- 48:27Speaker 2: He finally decided, we just argue too much and I
- 48:30Speaker 2: don't want to spend a lifetime of couples therapy. But
- 48:35Speaker 2: it's so fascinating.
- 48:36Speaker 5: Was she devastated?
- 48:37Speaker 2: Yeah, she was really devastated. I mean, also you've got
- 48:40Speaker 2: to take it from the girl's point of view of,
- 48:43Speaker 2: She has her dress. She has her bridesmaids.
- 48:45Speaker 5: And he's seen her on national television.
- 48:46Speaker 2: And it's two and a half months away, and this
- 48:49Speaker 2: wedding was going to be in Mexico, and it was
- 48:50Speaker 2: going to be filmed.
- 48:51Speaker 5: It was a big, big over-the-top thing.
- 48:52Speaker 2: And I do think, like, it's, you know, she probably
- 48:55Speaker 2: had her doubts, too. I'm sure they had a shitty summer.
- 48:58Speaker 5: Was Amanda and her really close? I think they have, like,
- 49:02Speaker 5: an issue together.
- 49:03Speaker 2: They've all had their weird issues.
- 49:04Speaker 5: That's what she said.
- 49:04Speaker 2: But much like Sandoval, at the moment of the breakup,
- 49:08Speaker 2: all her girls surrounded her. And their girls... Throughout the years,
- 49:12Speaker 2: they didn't like her, but they were like.
- 49:13Speaker 5: Did she end up dating somebody else in the end?
- 49:15Speaker 2: Now she's dating somebody that she dated prior to him
- 49:19Speaker 2: that came back.
- 49:20Speaker 5: Around.
- 49:21Speaker 2: And what about him?
- 49:22Speaker 5: Is he dating anyone?
- 49:24Speaker 2: No, I don't think he's dating anyone. But I think
- 49:26Speaker 2: he thought he was afraid.
- 49:27Speaker 5: I'm confusing Summer House with the other show. What's the
- 49:30Speaker 5: other one? Where somebody wanted to get married and the
- 49:33Speaker 5: other one... Southern Charm. Somebody wanted to get married, somebody didn't.
- 49:36Speaker 5: Because Andy was telling me about somebody, two people... The
- 49:39Speaker 5: guy wanted to get married and the girl didn't.
- 49:40Speaker 2: Oh, that's Paige. Paige. That's it. Paige is on Summer
- 49:43Speaker 2: House and Paige is dating Craig from Southern Charm. So
- 49:46Speaker 2: why doesn't... And they live separately, like in two different cities, right?
- 49:49Speaker 5: So she's in New York. How long have they been
- 49:50Speaker 5: going out for?
- 49:51Speaker 2: A couple years. Wow. And they, you know, make appearances
- 49:54Speaker 2: on each other's shows.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 49:57Speaker 4: And.
- 49:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's just.
- 50:00Speaker 5: So, like, why don't they just break up if they
- 50:01Speaker 5: don't want to be together? I mean, I think there's
- 50:04Speaker 5: a lot about the.
- 50:05Speaker 2: I mean... I think, if they're to be honest, you know,
- 50:09Speaker 2: I think a lot of it is about the show.
- 50:10Speaker 2: I've got my filming in Southern Charm.
- 50:12Speaker 5: So, in other words, my money's in the show. I
- 50:13Speaker 5: can't mess up.
- 50:14Speaker 2: I think so, and they're not saying it. But then
- 50:15Speaker 2: you're going to give up your.
- 50:16Speaker 5: Own personal life and your love life for a show?
- 50:17Speaker 5: That's ridiculous.
- 50:19Speaker 2: Well, I don't think that the— I think she's young enough
- 50:23Speaker 2: that the pregnancy ticking time has not— How old is she?
- 50:27Speaker 2: Under 30? She's probably like 30.
- 50:28Speaker 5: Oh, that's why.
- 50:29Speaker 2: So I don't think it's like hit her yet.
- 50:30Speaker 5: But he wants to get married.
- 50:31Speaker 1: He's older.
- 50:32Speaker 2: He's older. And he would maybe do it, but at
- 50:34Speaker 2: the same time... Like, I think they get along. I
- 50:36Speaker 2: think they're sexually attracted. I think they have fun. I
- 50:40Speaker 2: just don't think they're ready. But I have a theory.
- 50:43Speaker 2: I have my own dating relationship theories with life. Take
- 50:47Speaker 2: reality shows out of it, which I just think is impossible.
- 50:50Speaker 2: I kind of feel like if too much time goes without...
- 50:56Speaker 2: making the step of moving in together or getting engaged.
- 51:00Speaker 2: I think you're going to, it may never happen.
- 51:02Speaker 5: It's going to dissipate. I agree with you on that.
- 51:03Speaker 5: It's like, that's why I've, I don't believe in, like
- 51:06Speaker 5: I did five years and I was like shocked and
- 51:08Speaker 5: I got the show at probably year three and I
- 51:10Speaker 5: was so into my work and so making my money.
- 51:13Speaker 5: And I was angry in the beginning cause I wanted
- 51:14Speaker 5: to get married. I wanted to have that kid. I
- 51:16Speaker 5: was early enough to have the kid in their early
- 51:17Speaker 5: forties and we didn't, you know, freeze our eggs back then.
- 51:21Speaker 5: So I had to move it or lose it.
- 51:22Speaker 3: Right.
- 51:23Speaker 5: And, um, I wasted five years and he wanted children.
- 51:27Speaker 5: He picked me for that reason. But he really didn't
- 51:29Speaker 5: want kids. He wanted the girls that wanted kids because
- 51:31Speaker 5: those were the good girls. Those were the quality ones.
- 51:34Speaker 5: And then because they're mama like, you know, they can
- 51:36Speaker 5: take care of you. And then he changed his mind
- 51:38Speaker 5: and I wanted to murder him at year five. I
- 51:40Speaker 5: was like, wait a second, we're getting engaged. Now you
- 51:42Speaker 5: don't want kids like what?
- 51:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:44Speaker 2: Right.
- 51:44Speaker 5: And it was horrible that somebody would take your child
- 51:47Speaker 5: childbearing years away. Thank God I had a show and
- 51:50Speaker 5: money because I wanted to kill him at one point. And,
- 51:53Speaker 5: you know, you go for that.
- 51:54Speaker 2: I think Paige is very likable, and so is he.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Both of them have kind of— But they're going to
- 52:01Speaker 2: have to put up or shut up at some point.
- 52:02Speaker 2: Both of them don't have scandalous storylines or reputations.
- 52:06Speaker 5: Or they don't have backstories, or they're terrible.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Yeah, both of them have had— like, he had a girlfriend
- 52:10Speaker 2: way back when, and she was kind of a bitch,
- 52:13Speaker 2: and then he really flourished.
- 52:14Speaker 5: I'm a fan of Madison out of all of them. Like,
- 52:16Speaker 5: Madison and I have talked.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Oh, on Southern Charm.
- 52:19Speaker 5: Yeah, she was going to call me if she didn't
- 52:20Speaker 5: meet her— fiance husband who you know she met in
- 52:25Speaker 5: um scottsdale you know that was the greatest story ever
- 52:27Speaker 5: where he sees her she's what's the story they're they're
- 52:30Speaker 5: in a bar and um i think in old town
- 52:33Speaker 5: and she's on a like you know a bachelor weekend
- 52:37Speaker 5: and i guess he's with his guys and they lock
- 52:39Speaker 5: eyes and they start to talk and she says listen
- 52:41Speaker 5: i'm they're they're pulling me out we're going to the
- 52:43Speaker 5: next bar whatever i you know live in um charleston
- 52:46Speaker 5: so if you want to see me you're going to
- 52:47Speaker 5: be in charleston He flew to Charleston the next day.
- 52:49Speaker 5: She hadn't even left Scottsdale yet and was waiting for
- 52:52Speaker 5: her there. And that was it. And he lived in Sacramento,
- 52:54Speaker 5: and he was taking care of his parents. And it's
- 52:56Speaker 5: a great story. I mean, she had just come off
- 52:58Speaker 5: the A-Rod scandal. And, you know, she had a son
- 53:03Speaker 5: to raise. He actually looks like her son. It's, like,
- 53:05Speaker 5: weird because I looked at her son. I was like, God,
- 53:06Speaker 5: he looks like her husband.
- 53:07Speaker 3: It's crazy.
- 53:09Speaker 5: But anyway, you know, and she's a hard worker. And
- 53:12Speaker 5: she's a good girl. And I just was– I love
- 53:14Speaker 5: that story, like, that they saw each other and just knew.
- 53:16Speaker 5: They had that knowing. where you don't get that very often.
- 53:19Speaker 5: I have never had that, where you just meet the
- 53:21Speaker 5: person and just know.
- 53:22Speaker 4: You know?
- 53:23Speaker 2: I think with Paige and Craig, I think they are
- 53:26Speaker 2: both extremely normal in the best sense of the way, Well,
- 53:32Speaker 2: for that show. For being reality stars. I never remember
- 53:36Speaker 2: like there being big like scandals or people thinking that
- 53:39Speaker 2: they're bad friends or bad people. So I think they're
- 53:41Speaker 2: like good.
- 53:41Speaker 5: Well, they're not like Tom and Tom.
- 53:43Speaker 2: Yeah, like they're like good people.
- 53:44Speaker 5: I mean like Tom and Tom had shit with the
- 53:47Speaker 5: backstories that they had. And you're like, I hate you.
- 53:50Speaker 5: I hate you, but I still want to watch that show.
- 53:52Speaker 2: Yeah, but they're still fun to watch and they're just
- 53:54Speaker 2: very likable and level-headed. And so maybe they're just enjoying
- 53:59Speaker 2: their time. Like she is going on the road. Well,
- 54:01Speaker 2: she's young.
- 54:02Speaker 5: So they're young. Give it five years and let's talk,
- 54:04Speaker 5: you know, like, you know, when she gets to be 35.
- 54:06Speaker 5: But like I was thinking about when you said that
- 54:08Speaker 5: about Jax is like, you know, he cheated with Stassi,
- 54:11Speaker 5: with Kristen. And I'm thinking like he had terrible backstory. Like,
- 54:14Speaker 5: you know, sometimes you meet these guys and they cheat
- 54:16Speaker 5: with other women, but they're not going to cheat with you.
- 54:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 54:19Speaker 5: And you're like, OK, then they cheat with you. And
- 54:21Speaker 5: you're like, damn it, I should have known because they
- 54:23Speaker 5: cheated on so and so.
- 54:25Speaker 4: Right.
- 54:25Speaker 5: And I always go, fuck, you know, like, didn't you listen? But,
- 54:28Speaker 5: you know, your gut is like your chemistry. You're drawn
- 54:30Speaker 5: to them. They're sharp in the way they woo you.
- 54:34Speaker 2: Right.
- 54:34Speaker 5: You know, and she got married and had a baby.
- 54:36Speaker 5: It wasn't that, you know, it wasn't like it was nothing.
- 54:38Speaker 5: It wasn't like a, you know, quick lip.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Now, tell me about the new show that's out now.
- 54:43Speaker 5: It's very different. Very different.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Which is on the CW.
- 54:46Speaker 5: CW came to me with IPC, which is a great
- 54:49Speaker 5: production company. They're from Sony. And they said, we want
- 54:52Speaker 5: to do something a little different. And I said, what
- 54:55Speaker 5: do you want to do? It's a little tamer show.
- 54:56Speaker 5: But it's almost like therapy. So you come in. You
- 55:00Speaker 5: have a problem. Why am I single? Why can't I
- 55:03Speaker 5: find love? I've been stuck in a loop. My ex-husband, this, that.
- 55:07Speaker 5: And I figure out what's wrong with you. We give
- 55:09Speaker 5: you a task. And you have to do the task.
- 55:12Speaker 5: And then your reward is a date. But it doesn't
- 55:13Speaker 5: mean like I'm giving you a date and it's the one.
- 55:16Speaker 5: It's not about matchmaking in the sense. It's more about healing.
- 55:19Speaker 5: It's a healing show. So it's a little more interesting
- 55:21Speaker 5: because we go deeper. than the average dating show. We're
- 55:24Speaker 5: not like Love is Blind and gimmicky. We're going in
- 55:26Speaker 5: to figure out what is your wound and let's fix
- 55:29Speaker 5: that shit finally. And like all the people that were
- 55:31Speaker 5: on the show called me up and said I'm a
- 55:33Speaker 5: completely different person since then. You know, it was really nice.
- 55:36Speaker 2: And who were some people you had? I saw you
- 55:37Speaker 2: had Vicky from Real Housewives of OC.
- 55:39Speaker 5: Vicky was a great story. So Vicky was on Girls
- 55:42Speaker 5: Trip and I had just done her podcast with her
- 55:44Speaker 5: and Steve and he was nasty and she was nasty
- 55:47Speaker 5: and I was.
- 55:48Speaker 2: In the middle. They were nasty to each other?
- 55:49Speaker 5: Yeah, and I was on the podcast in the middle
- 55:50Speaker 5: and I said, Vicky, this is not healthy. And she says,
- 55:53Speaker 5: how was it?
- 55:54Speaker 2: How are they nasty to each other?
- 55:55Speaker 5: You got to listen to that podcast. It was terrible.
- 55:57Speaker 5: It was like really mean and undercutting, but I knew that.
- 56:00Speaker 2: Why are they doing a podcast together anyway.
- 56:02Speaker 5: In the first place? But I knew Steve, I, you know,
- 56:05Speaker 5: she was dating down again.
- 56:06Speaker 2: And to remind people, so Vicki is a real house
- 56:09Speaker 2: of both seas.
- 56:09Speaker 5: And she makes a lot of money. She makes a
- 56:11Speaker 5: lot of money.
- 56:12Speaker 2: You know, and Steve's brother is the.
- 56:14Speaker 5: Host of Roger Lodge from Blind Date. And so I think.
- 56:19Speaker 2: He did like being on the show and he did
- 56:22Speaker 2: like that she was famous.
- 56:23Speaker 5: I definitely do. It was more than that. So he
- 56:25Speaker 5: was not a nice person.
- 56:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 56:27Speaker 5: She was a giver. You know, she just wants her
- 56:30Speaker 5: coffee in the morning. Make my coffee. You know, you
- 56:32Speaker 5: set my day and I'll fuck you. She's really a
- 56:33Speaker 5: great person. So basically she dates down again because all
- 56:37Speaker 5: the guys don't make money like she makes. And it
- 56:40Speaker 5: is a rub to the men. They don't like that.
- 56:43Speaker 3: Okay.
- 56:44Speaker 5: And she goes on the girls trip. And he broke
- 56:46Speaker 5: up with her and he went off with someone else
- 56:48Speaker 5: and she can't get out of bed. And Dorinda's screaming
- 56:50Speaker 5: at her and Jill's like, I don't know what to do.
- 56:51Speaker 5: And Tamara's having a fit.
- 56:53Speaker 2: And it was awful. It was awful.
- 56:54Speaker 5: And I got a phone call going, help me, help me.
- 56:57Speaker 5: So I said, did you ever make a list? She goes,
- 57:00Speaker 5: what do you mean a list? I said, make your list,
- 57:02Speaker 5: write it down right now. She makes the list.
- 57:05Speaker 2: Of what she wants at a guy.
- 57:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:06Speaker 5: And it's to the point like cowboy boots and six
- 57:09Speaker 5: foot two and, you know, lives on the beach and
- 57:11Speaker 5: like all these things that you wouldn't, it's too specific.
- 57:15Speaker 5: The next day she meets Kelly and Kelly introduces her
- 57:18Speaker 5: to Mike, who becomes her boyfriend, who is exactly on
- 57:20Speaker 5: the list. And Mike had dated my best friend.
- 57:22Speaker 2: So he was a good guy. Like I had good
- 57:23Speaker 2: references for her.
- 57:25Speaker 5: And off they went. And now they're living together.
- 57:27Speaker 2: That's great.
- 57:28Speaker 5: So she came on to teach one of my girls
- 57:30Speaker 5: not to date down.
- 57:32Speaker 1: Oh.
- 57:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:33Speaker 5: Very similar to Ashlana Cotty. I had her on my show.
- 57:36Speaker 5: a million dollar matchmaker.
- 57:37Speaker 2: Who's Ashley?
- 57:38Speaker 5: Ashley's from The Bachelor.
- 57:39Speaker 3: Okay.
- 57:39Speaker 5: And Jared.
- 57:40Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 57:41Speaker 5: So I said, if you don't make Jared jealous, because
- 57:43Speaker 5: he kept blowing her phone up and saying, get off
- 57:45Speaker 5: the show, don't do the show. I'm like, if he
- 57:48Speaker 5: didn't care about you, why would he blow your phone up?
- 57:50Speaker 2: Oh, this is Ashley, I and Jared who now have
- 57:52Speaker 2: two kids while she's pregnant with a second.
- 57:53Speaker 5: So I said, you make him jealous and that's exactly
- 57:55Speaker 5: what happened. But it wasn't through me. It was, the
- 57:58Speaker 5: show started it, but she went off with the fireman.
- 58:01Speaker 5: I don't know his name from Canada, Kevin or something
- 58:03Speaker 5: like that. And, Then she got into her podcast and
- 58:07Speaker 5: her business and she was like over Jared. And Jared
- 58:09Speaker 5: was living with Nick, who's on my show, Vile. And
- 58:13Speaker 5: they went off to do a vacation and they were
- 58:15Speaker 5: at the airport and he couldn't take it anymore. He
- 58:17Speaker 5: was so jealous. He grabbed her and kissed her and
- 58:18Speaker 5: she said, wait a second. You better mean what you did.
- 58:20Speaker 5: And like, you know, off they went. So she broke
- 58:23Speaker 5: up with the boyfriend and then she ended up with
- 58:25Speaker 5: Jared and got married to him. Remember, jealousy is a
- 58:27Speaker 5: powerful tool. I don't recommend it, but it is a
- 58:29Speaker 5: powerful tool.
- 58:31Speaker 2: To use it.
- 58:32Speaker 5: It can backfire on you.
- 58:34Speaker 2: I mean, you're manipulating the situation a little, which you
- 58:38Speaker 2: have to sometimes. I mean, love is a game. There
- 58:40Speaker 2: has to be some game playing. You always lay everything on.
- 58:45Speaker 2: I don't believe in like, oh, full disclosure and laying
- 58:47Speaker 2: it out too soon because that does scare people and
- 58:49Speaker 2: you want there to be a mystery.
- 58:50Speaker 5: I like that she went off with Kevin, probably lost
- 58:53Speaker 5: her virginity because she was the crying virgin on The Bachelor.
- 58:55Speaker 2: Right.
- 58:56Speaker 5: And I like the fact that she kept the road
- 58:58Speaker 5: going and ignored him. And then when that happens, it's
- 59:01Speaker 5: like when you disconnect, they feel it. The minute you
- 59:04Speaker 5: disconnect from someone, they feel it. and they every single
- 59:07Speaker 5: guy I've ever dated has come back every single one
- 59:10Speaker 5: usually when I disconnect and I don't care about them anymore.
- 59:13Speaker 2: But how do you feel about like people like talk
- 59:15Speaker 2: about the J-Lo and Ben they you know the reason
- 59:18Speaker 2: they broke up is that he cheated on her or
- 59:19Speaker 2: he was like at a strip club or something And
- 59:22Speaker 2: then when they finally get married, it's like, oh, my God,
- 59:24Speaker 2: we're finally back together and all this stuff.
- 59:26Speaker 5: But then reality sets in and then the dopamine has
- 59:28Speaker 5: to wear off at some point. You're no longer on
- 59:30Speaker 5: the high of a wedding and all the fun things.
- 59:32Speaker 5: You've got kids to take care of. There's like, you know,
- 59:35Speaker 5: there's like, what, five kids between them?
- 59:38Speaker 4: Right.
- 59:38Speaker 5: So there's more of, there's more high stakes now. It
- 59:42Speaker 5: wasn't like they were single and ready to mingle, you know,
- 59:45Speaker 5: and he's an addict and she's got running like all
- 59:48Speaker 5: these businesses. You know, he's doing the accountant right now. So, like,
- 59:52Speaker 5: they have a corporation going on, and then there's an
- 59:54Speaker 5: ex-wife and an ex-husband.
- 59:56Speaker 2: Well, the ex-wife allegedly— I love Jane Garner. She wants them. Yeah,
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: of course she wants them to work out. She's engaged.
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: She's engaged.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: But no, but she wants them to work out, supposedly.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: And I'm like, yeah.
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: You'd take them off my hands.
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: You would.
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: Take them off my hands.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: And also, you don't want another traumatic breakup, because I'm
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: sure J-Lo is nice.
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: The one thing that I feel bad for is her twins.
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: They love A-Rod's children. And then they go here, and
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: they're probably— Oh, they were.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: Hanging out with A-Rod's children.
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: Yeah, and they loved them. They were like— the girls were
- 1:00:25Speaker 5: really close with her daughter. And the same thing is
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: with this one. So if, God forbid, they break up,
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: you know, another family— You know.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: I talked about the J-Lo tour canceling. And I think—
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: That's okay. I think there's a couple things. I think, one,
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: it wasn't selling well. And then why not cancel? And
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: then also— The reason for canceling it, meaning I want
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: to give more time as a mother to my kids.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: Can I be honest with you? I think that's a
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: very not good thing.
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: Can I be honest with you? I think she handled
- 1:00:54Speaker 5: the breakup with Grace. And I'm going to say that outright.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: The breakup? What breakup?
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: Her breakup with Ben with Grace.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: Wait, you think they're broken up now for sure? Wait,
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: what are you talking about?
- 1:01:03Speaker 5: They live separately and they broke up. And I think
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: they're broken up. You really think they're really broken up? No,
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: not totally broken up. I'm saying like, I think the way... Look,
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: if you and I broke up with someone... And I
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: didn't want anybody to know. Nobody was fucking, nobody was
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: following me around like that. She is an icon. So
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: I think she handled it with grace. I don't see
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: her falling apart and falling in the street. She's bringing flowers.
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: She's bringing gifts to the kids' events. She's acting with grace.
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: I have to say that.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: I think she did a great job. Listen, I think,
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: you know, as a mom and as a working mom
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: and someone that goes on tour and all this stuff,
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: I think it was kind of like, God's intervention that
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: she wasn't selling the tickets. And it was like, let's cancel.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: When she made that movie, she fucked herself.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: So let's cancel this.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Because also the one daughter is going off to Yale
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: and she, you know. Which her daughter? No, Ben and. Oh,
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: the older daughter.
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: She's really smart.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: She can speak. Just like Jennifer Garner.
- 1:02:01Speaker 5: She can speak a lot of languages.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: She's very smart. And she's going off to Yale. Wow,
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: that's awesome. And so I think they're like.
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: Congratulations, Ben and Jen.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: That's fine. But we have. Mazel tov. You know, it
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: comes a time where you're like, okay, one has sailed and,
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: you know, is hopefully going to do great in life.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: Now the three other, they're little and younger, 16, whatever.
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: Teenagers.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: And I think that she probably was like, you know what?
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: I only have a couple more years left with the twins.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: And we're like, maybe I just really do just give
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: extra time. How about she's tired?
- 1:02:33Speaker 5: She works her ass off. She did Atlas. She did
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: all these movies.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: She has to turn down stuff. And so she decided
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: to turn down the one that wasn't working.
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: But you have to understand, he told her not to
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: make the movie. He said, I'm shy. I don't like
- 1:02:43Speaker 5: being out in the public eye. I make my movies.
- 1:02:46Speaker 5: I go home.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: He said that. He said, don't do the documentary thing.
- 1:02:50Speaker 5: He said, don't take. And then when she lost the money,
- 1:02:52Speaker 5: she used her own money. And he was like, this
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: is too over the top. I watched part of it.
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: I couldn't get through. It's like. It was too much.
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: You're talking about the.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: Documentary or the videos? There were two.
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: The one about their love story. And then Jane Fonda said,
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: if you do this, you're going to lose him. You're
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: pushing him too far. She saw it on the red carpet.
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: She told her that on the red carpet. You can
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: find that video.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: That Jane Fonda said that to her? Don't do this
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: documentary thing?
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: She's like, you're going to go too far. You're going
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: too far.
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: She knew.
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: She saw it because Jane Fonda had been around the block.
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: And she knew. And they had a relationship from a
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: previous movie. And I just thought, don't bring your personal
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: life into your life.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: I also think there's a weird thing that's happened with
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: celebrities where.
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: They want to be reality stars secretly. You know that, right?
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: Well, I think what it is.
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: Why does Jen have a cooking show, the Make Believe
- 1:03:40Speaker 5: cooking show? Why does Jen Garner, Jen J-Lo, make a
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: movie about.
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Their love life?
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: They secretly want to be us. Let's be real.
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: Well, I think what it is, is.
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: And we secretly want to be them.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: I think that there is something going on where... The
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: worshiping of celebrities is over with. Yes. Because there's no
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: mystery to it. Because they're on TikTok.
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: Correct.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: Like you said, they're doing their cooking show. They're doing
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: their job. Everybody has a documentary of how hard their
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: life is.
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: And everybody has an Instagram channel.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: Everybody has, you know, already, there's no, it used to
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: be like, oh my God, I got to ride my
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: bike home.
- 1:04:13Speaker 5: If I saw Nicole Kidman and I saw Jennifer Garner
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: and I saw, you know, any of these people like
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, I would die. Now I'm like, eh.
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: I had to be on the Critics' Choice Awards, and
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: I had to interview celebrities who were nominated for my channel.
- 1:04:32Speaker 5: And everybody was in the room. Leonardo, Bradley Cooper, you
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: name it, there was everybody there. And I saw them,
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: and I saw them walking down the carpet, and a
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: couple of them stopped in my booth. I met some
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: really cool people, people that I wouldn't have expected to
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: stop in my booth, the Saltburn kids, like all really
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: cool people. And I was just like, meh. Like, back
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: in the day in film school, when I was at
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: University of Miami, if I had gotten.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: Yeah, but also, but you're older, though.
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: I would have been like, oh, my God.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: No, but it's like... But I'm saying, I even think.
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: Yeah, I wanna.
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: I think also, just because they're so much more accessible,
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: and we see them doing these things.
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: I mean, like, Christina Ricci beelines to my booth, and
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: she's quoting Penises of Picking and shit, like, from me,
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: and I'm like, you know who I am? And she's like,
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: are you kidding me? And I'd have people come into
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: the booth that would go like, oh, my God, there's
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: the Millionaire Magic, and I would be like, wow. And
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: I'm looking at Leonardo DiCaprio, who... I love his last movie.
- 1:05:21Speaker 5: I mean, Run, Don't Walk, Killers of the Flower Moon.
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: Wait till the scene in the prison. You'll understand what
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: I'm talking about if you've seen that movie. It's worth
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: three hours. And I just was like, eh. But he's
- 1:05:32Speaker 5: so handsome. He's still handsome to me. I still think
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: he's the hottest thing in the world. He's got an
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: X factor to me that I like, that Scorpio X factor.
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: But at the same time, I was like, Jennifer Aniston
- 1:05:41Speaker 5: was the one I really wanted to see because, you know,
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: To me, I mean, from Friends to the Morning Show,
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: I've loved her every step.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: Of the way.
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: And the best show right now, True Detective with Jodie Foster.
- 1:05:55Speaker 5: I was a Jodie Foster fan. They were all doing
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: the Actors' Roundtable. Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Aniston, Naomi.
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: Right, I saw those clips.
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: Naomi's really good friends with Nicole. They were best friends
- 1:06:05Speaker 5: growing up through the industry. And you hear how they
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: praise each other. And when Nicole Kidman praises Jennifer Aniston,
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: she's like ready to cry. And Nicole Kidman means it.
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: It was so great to watch that. You can watch
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: all those clips on the Hollywood Reporter. It's a Hollywood Reporter? Yeah,
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: it's really good. Well, listen, we're going to wrap up.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: I want to talk about how you have these matchmaker fragrances.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: Explain what this is.
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: So a pheromone is what we emanate in the wild
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: to attract ourselves to one another. Animals have it stronger
- 1:06:35Speaker 5: than we do. And so as we grow older, it
- 1:06:38Speaker 5: diminishes because it's like with estrogen. They have to screw
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: us when we get menopause. So we created this pheromone
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: for gay, straight, and fluid people, okay? And I just
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: gave you a couple's kit. It's for male and female.
- 1:06:52Speaker 5: You'll put it on tonight. You'll tell me how great
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: your sex life is. Because I've got candles, too. I'll
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: send you a kit for candles kit where you can
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: actually have a spout, and it's got massage oil in
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: the candle.
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: Oh, so wait.
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: That's fragrance. I'm going to send you some candles.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 1:07:07Speaker 5: So your husband gets one, and you get one.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: All right, cool.
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: Yeah, and you're going to all, like, go crazy over
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: each other. Because it's the scent. Think about when you
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: fell in love.
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: But where do you get the pheromone?
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: What is it?
- 1:07:17Speaker 5: Oh, it's from the Orient, you know, from Asia.
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: And it's the highest secretion of pheromones you can get.
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: I remember there was a pheromone perfume back in the 90s,
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: and I went and bought it.
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: And it went out that night. And I didn't have
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: that great of a night. Does it have a scent
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: as well?
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: Yeah, it has a scent. But if the scent leaves,
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: it'll still be in your bloodstream. So make sure you
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: put it on your heart chakra, not just your pulse points.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: Okay. And where can they buy it?
- 1:07:42Speaker 5: They can buy it at eyeoflove.com, E-Y-E of love.com, and
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: just look for Matchmaker.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: I love it.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: And, of course, follow Patty, watch the show. Where can
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: they watch it? Where can they stream it? They can
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: watch it on the CW.
- 1:07:55Speaker 5: Unfortunately, the CW is the only place you can stream.
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: So you can download the app on, you know, the
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: Apple Store or Fox, Firefire. And I don't know if
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: Roku has it, but I know those two do. And
- 1:08:06Speaker 5: you can download the app. It's on there. And you
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: can watch the CW. If you can't watch it at
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: 8 o'clock on Thursdays, you know, on regular television. But
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: I know a lot of people don't have regular television
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: right now. So I know that's unfortunately, but, you know.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: Well, thank you.
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: Thank you so much for having me. Appreciate you bringing
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: me on.
