- 1:26Speaker 1: not keep him waiting. He is a busy man. Figured
- 1:29Speaker 1: out odds, probably political odds. Esparza, how are you?
- 1:34Speaker 2: You're telling me about that, but thank you. I am
- 1:36Speaker 2: doing well. This is tomorrow, October 1st. This is probably
- 1:41Speaker 2: one of the biggest primaries, and I've been doing political odds.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I think this is going to be my fifth presidential
- 1:49Speaker 2: election that I've been trading and stuff like that. So
- 1:51Speaker 2: I got to check back in it. we had a
- 1:54Speaker 2: couple of meetings, a couple of other books and ads makers,
- 1:57Speaker 2: all that they're expecting, but a billion dollars to be just, just,
- 2:04Speaker 2: just the primaries, not the president, just the primaries alone.
- 2:08Speaker 1: A billion, you know, that's cool. And we're going to
- 2:10Speaker 1: get into games here in just a second, but that
- 2:11Speaker 1: that's crazy. I knew that, you know, political odds and political,
- 2:15Speaker 1: you know, gaming is a thing. I mean, you just
- 2:17Speaker 1: look at the poly markets and the cowsheets now and some,
- 2:19Speaker 1: you know, the, the predictable, predictable markets, but, A billion
- 2:22Speaker 1: dollars on politics. I think people care more about gaming
- 2:26Speaker 1: politics than actually what happens with it.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Well, I think a lot of it, we'll talk about
- 2:30Speaker 2: the games. First of all, I've been doing political odds before.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Kalshi and Polymarket. Yes, you have. These owners who haven't
- 2:36Speaker 2: even been born yet probably are still putting their sandwiches
- 2:40Speaker 2: with their mom. But it's just, I think more people now,
- 2:44Speaker 2: I think, trust games. betting ads than they do polls?
- 2:47Speaker 2: Because I've been saying this since day one, since I started.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Who are you going to believe, someone's word or someone's wallet?
- 2:55Speaker 1: That is absolutely true. And, you know, you can just
- 2:57Speaker 1: about follow the money, and that will tell you, you know,
- 3:01Speaker 1: how a lot of these elections are going to pan out.
- 3:03Speaker 1: All right, so let's jump into it. We've got a
- 3:04Speaker 1: lot of great football to get into. Last weekend was fun.
- 3:07Speaker 1: This weekend should be really fun. Let's start with the
- 3:11Speaker 1: NFL game tomorrow night. We've got Steelers at the Browns.
- 3:15Speaker 1: The Steelers are a three-point favorite. That totals at 38.
- 3:17Speaker 1: It's a pretty good Thursday night football game.
- 3:21Speaker 2: It's the 2-1 Cleveland Browns. Get it correctly. It's the
- 3:24Speaker 2: two-victory Watson Cleveland Browns. Man, if he wins, let's say
- 3:31Speaker 2: if he beats Pittsburgh and let's say he busts out
- 3:34Speaker 2: three or four more wins. They're going to extend him.
- 3:37Speaker 2: It's a lot cheaper number. They're not going to give
- 3:39Speaker 2: him the number. But it would be a better way
- 3:42Speaker 2: to save some money and resign him. And I like
- 3:46Speaker 2: the home dog in this one. I really like Cleveland
- 3:49Speaker 2: team total over 18 and a half. Seems like a
- 3:51Speaker 2: low number. You figure the dog pound is going to
- 3:54Speaker 2: be loud. You're playing a division rival. Sometimes Steelers defense
- 3:58Speaker 2: is there. Sometimes it's not. I like the Browns team
- 4:02Speaker 2: total over one shot with this game goes over. They
- 4:04Speaker 2: were expecting rain at first, but now they're saying it
- 4:07Speaker 2: might come on Friday instead of Thursday night. So if
- 4:10Speaker 2: it's just cloudy and all that, we could see some
- 4:12Speaker 2: points scored.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no doubt. And, of course, rain is going
- 4:14Speaker 1: to affect several games in the south and throughout the
- 4:17Speaker 1: region at some point. All right, let's move into some
- 4:19Speaker 1: Friday night college football. We've got Pittsburgh at Virginia Tech.
- 4:24Speaker 1: James Franklin, Virginia Tech Hokies, rolling Pittsburgh. They've got a
- 4:27Speaker 1: couple of players they like. Virginia Tech, a three-and-a-half point favorite.
- 4:31Speaker 1: That tolls at 55. This should be a good Friday
- 4:32Speaker 1: night game. Kickoff is at 6 o'clock.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Yeah, and we're at 6 o'clock time on Friday. This
- 4:38Speaker 2: number opened up at four, four and a half, and
- 4:40Speaker 2: it's been bet down. I really love watching Virginia Tech.
- 4:43Speaker 2: They seem like they're bodying a Franklin system. It seems
- 4:45Speaker 2: like they have finally a new direction for Hokie football.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Metallica's blaring. The kids are wild. I'm going to wait
- 4:53Speaker 2: to see if this number continues to drop. I'm looking
- 4:55Speaker 2: to pull the trigger on the Hokies, but I hate
- 4:58Speaker 2: that half a point on the three and a half.
- 5:00Speaker 2: But they're my play. I love it. I thought there
- 5:03Speaker 2: would be a sleeper to win maybe the ACC or
- 5:06Speaker 2: a hang around, but boy, they're not a sleeper anymore.
- 5:09Speaker 1: No, no, they're not. And you know, they'll have a
- 5:11Speaker 1: say at least somewhat of a say in that league.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Also Penn state drops one last week to Wisconsin did
- 5:16Speaker 1: not see that coming. I felt like Penn state could
- 5:19Speaker 1: probably cruise to the college football playoff. Now they're going
- 5:21Speaker 1: up against the Northwestern team that gave Indiana all they
- 5:24Speaker 1: wanted this past week, Penn state minus two and a
- 5:26Speaker 1: half totals at 45 again, Friday night, there's going to
- 5:29Speaker 1: be an upset in one of these games. It could
- 5:30Speaker 1: be here.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Maybe, It is going to be here. And you said
- 5:35Speaker 2: Penn State, before college football started, you said you thought
- 5:38Speaker 2: that all their schedules cakewalked. They could easily come in.
- 5:40Speaker 2: And I said, no way. I don't like this team.
- 5:43Speaker 2: They got nipped last week. And they're going to get
- 5:45Speaker 2: nipped this week. Fitzpatrick, or Fitzgerald, I mean. He's got
- 5:49Speaker 2: this team playing defense. Northwestern bringing a new stadium. Their
- 5:52Speaker 2: offense has been clicking. They gave everything and anything to Indiana.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Now people think, oh, but they gave everything to Indiana. Yeah,
- 5:59Speaker 2: but that was on the road. Now they're at home.
- 6:01Speaker 2: If it's vice versa, I wouldn't touch this game. But
- 6:04Speaker 2: Northwestern's at home. I'll take the plus points. I want
- 6:07Speaker 2: nothing to do with Penn State.
- 6:09Speaker 1: And on Saturday morning, any chance North Carolina at 11 o'clock?
- 6:14Speaker 2: Nope. Nope. Nope. Someone asked me today if I had
- 6:19Speaker 2: to put odds on who would get fired first, Belichick
- 6:22Speaker 2: or Dabo, because you figure Clemson might get crushed this
- 6:28Speaker 2: weekend as well. I think they might hold off a
- 6:32Speaker 2: little bit on Belichick just because of the name. I
- 6:35Speaker 2: think Belichick's name is still more out there than Dabo,
- 6:38Speaker 2: because I think Dabo's name has just ran through the
- 6:40Speaker 2: mud the last couple of years.
- 6:42Speaker 1: All right, big one in Starville, Mississippi State and Alabama.
- 6:47Speaker 1: We know you love Mississippi State. Their fans love you.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Alabama minus six. The total is at 60-and-a-half. Kamario Taylor,
- 6:55Speaker 1: Keelan Russell, but a lot of reigns expected to be
- 6:58Speaker 1: in the region. This will be the best team Mississippi
- 7:00Speaker 1: State has faced up to this point. Kalen DeBoer has
- 7:03Speaker 1: not coached well on the road. Bama struggled. I mean,
- 7:05Speaker 1: I know they beat Kentucky on the road, but it
- 7:07Speaker 1: took them a half to get going. What do you
- 7:10Speaker 1: see in this game? Can State pull the upset? They're
- 7:13Speaker 1: 4-0 against the spread, by the way.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I was just going to say they're 4-0 against the spread.
- 7:16Speaker 2: And you know what I did last week? I picked
- 7:19Speaker 2: against them because I liked them. And I'm going to
- 7:21Speaker 2: say Alabama 59, Mississippi State 0. But I wish they
- 7:26Speaker 2: didn't have any weather. I wish this was a later
- 7:29Speaker 2: game because I think we could see some points scored
- 7:31Speaker 2: if there was no weather. Don't forget, Alabama is awful
- 7:35Speaker 2: against dual threat quarterbacks. And what does Mississippi State have?
- 7:38Speaker 2: Maybe the next Alabama quarterback or the next Miami quarterback
- 7:42Speaker 2: or Oregon quarterback or you name the list. Is that true?
- 7:46Speaker 2: I mean, I forgot to write this down. I'm glad
- 7:49Speaker 2: I remembered. They're trying to do donations to try to
- 7:52Speaker 2: keep this kid in Mississippi State? No, no.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I think some of that's a little fodder. But I
- 7:58Speaker 1: will say this without giving any names. I mean, and
- 8:00Speaker 1: I don't want to be that guy. I've been told
- 8:01Speaker 1: by people who are in that building and people around
- 8:04Speaker 1: him that are– in the coaching circle, some of his family,
- 8:09Speaker 1: they feel like they've got him locked up. And, you know,
- 8:11Speaker 1: Chris Jones, the defensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs,
- 8:16Speaker 1: he pledged publicly he was going to put money towards
- 8:18Speaker 1: Kamario Taylor and this football team. Jeffrey Simmons with the
- 8:22Speaker 1: Tennessee Titans, he actually played at Knoxville County High School
- 8:25Speaker 1: where Kamario Taylor played his high school football, also played
- 8:28Speaker 1: at State. He said he would pledge. I think they
- 8:30Speaker 1: got the kid locked up. Now, I mean, money talks.
- 8:32Speaker 1: if he doesn't want to be there. But I don't
- 8:34Speaker 1: know that they're going out. Maybe they are.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I hope he stays. That'd be cool for Mississippi State football.
- 8:39Speaker 2: It'd be cool for the state of Mississippi. I hope
- 8:41Speaker 2: he stays. I love watching him because he may chase
- 8:45Speaker 2: money and then just fail at that new score. To me,
- 8:48Speaker 2: if he stays there, I don't think he'll fail.
- 8:50Speaker 1: No, I agree with you. All right, Michigan is at Minnesota,
- 8:53Speaker 1: same time slot. Michigan minus 5.5. That total is 43.5.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Michigan has looked very iffy.
- 8:59Speaker 2: P.J.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Fleck needs a big win. Can he get one on Saturday?
- 9:02Speaker 2: I think he does pick maybe Mississippi State quarterback goes
- 9:05Speaker 2: to Michigan because Underwood has been a complete flop. I
- 9:08Speaker 2: want nothing to do with Underwood. Give me row the boat, Fleck.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I think it's that big win because let's face it,
- 9:14Speaker 2: Michigan should have two losses.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, they absolutely should. All right, looking down the
- 9:19Speaker 1: docket here, you know, it's kind of some sleepwalking games
- 9:22Speaker 1: until you get down. You know, Vanderbilt plays at Georgia
- 9:25Speaker 1: at 1145. Georgia has looked dominant against inferior competition. We
- 9:29Speaker 1: thought Oklahoma in the preseason would give them a game.
- 9:31Speaker 1: That wasn't even close. 24 and a half is the
- 9:35Speaker 1: line on Georgia's side. 51 is the total. Any chance
- 9:39Speaker 1: Vanderbilt can play in that number?
- 9:41Speaker 2: No. I mean, Georgia has outscored their opponents 219 to 53.
- 9:44Speaker 2: And I know Texas was the number one team coming
- 9:49Speaker 2: into college football. And I think the only reason why
- 9:51Speaker 2: they're the number one team, because of a guy's last
- 9:53Speaker 2: name on a jersey that plays quarterback, Georgia's the best
- 9:57Speaker 2: college football team right now. Vandy has no shot. They
- 10:01Speaker 2: should have lost to NC State.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Yeah, they should have. Game day is going to Iowa
- 10:07Speaker 1: for Ohio State and Iowa. We know about this Iowa
- 10:10Speaker 1: defense year in and year out. They're going to play
- 10:12Speaker 1: some of the best defense in the country. Ohio State's
- 10:14Speaker 1: a 14.5 point favorite, total at 45.5. Iowa with a
- 10:17Speaker 1: walk-off win last week against If Iowa could win the game,
- 10:23Speaker 1: they're going to lock a college football playoff spot. Their
- 10:25Speaker 1: schedule's easy peasy. If they lose, they still may be
- 10:29Speaker 1: a Big Ten team that gets in. Can they pull
- 10:31Speaker 1: the upset over Ohio State?
- 10:33Speaker 2: Man, I wish they would. I would love for them
- 10:35Speaker 2: to wave the kids in the cancer center and then
- 10:38Speaker 2: wave to the Ohio State fans when they're driving home
- 10:41Speaker 2: with a big victory. It all depends on style of
- 10:43Speaker 2: the game. If Iowa can muddy this game up and
- 10:46Speaker 2: play their type of football like they made Michigan play,
- 10:50Speaker 2: then boy, jump on that plus 14.5 right now. But
- 10:53Speaker 2: if it's a high-scoring game, or let's say Ohio State
- 10:56Speaker 2: punches them in the mouth right away of seven points,
- 10:58Speaker 2: then I think it can get out of hand. I
- 11:01Speaker 2: think Iowa's going to muddy up this game. I have
- 11:03Speaker 2: Iowa hovering, but I have Ohio State winning by like
- 11:07Speaker 2: six points or less.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and it'll be interesting to watch Iowa down the stretch.
- 11:10Speaker 1: If they can play this within that number and then
- 11:12Speaker 1: still end up with nine or ten wins, the committee,
- 11:15Speaker 1: if they get ten, they're in. But if they get nine, well,
- 11:17Speaker 1: it'll be interesting to see.
- 11:18Speaker 2: That means an SEC team might be out of Iowa
- 11:21Speaker 2: if they let Iowa get in.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, very well could. Speaking of an SEC team,
- 11:26Speaker 1: one of those could be Florida.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Florida.
- 11:27Speaker 1: They made Ole Miss look pedestrian. They ran up and
- 11:30Speaker 1: down the field last week. Ole Miss could not stop them.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Jalen Ball and his team, they go up to Missouri,
- 11:36Speaker 1: who lost a close one to Mississippi State. The number's
- 11:38Speaker 1: at 5.5 in favor of the Gators. That total's at 57.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Now that Florida has won a big game, they now
- 11:44Speaker 1: have to go on the road. They're not sneaking up
- 11:46Speaker 1: on anybody. Can Missouri– is the wrong team favored here?
- 11:50Speaker 2: I don't think so. I'm not a big fan of Missouri.
- 11:53Speaker 2: I wasn't as high hopes as everyone else was before
- 11:56Speaker 2: the season started. Florida does not just have Bob. They
- 11:58Speaker 2: have two other running backs that can shine, so it's
- 12:02Speaker 2: not just on him. Florida's team has bought into Summerall,
- 12:07Speaker 2: and I love watching them. I just think Florida's in
- 12:09Speaker 2: cruise control right now.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Looking at some other games on Saturday, Auburn at Tennessee. Boy, Tennessee,
- 12:15Speaker 1: their quarterback was sacked 10-plus times, maybe 11 or 12,
- 12:18Speaker 1: versus Texas. Still had a chance to win that ball
- 12:21Speaker 1: game at the end or had an opportunity to at
- 12:22Speaker 1: least tie it. They are favored by 7.5 over the
- 12:25Speaker 1: Auburn Tigers. Total is at 54.5. Auburn has looked okay.
- 12:29Speaker 1: They haven't looked what a lot of people felt like
- 12:31Speaker 1: under Alex Golish. Who do you like in this one?
- 12:35Speaker 2: And that half a point scares me in this one.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I mean, what's the mentality of Tennessee? You're at home
- 12:39Speaker 2: and you let your quarterback, I think he just got
- 12:41Speaker 2: sacked right now. I mean, what's the mentality of that game?
- 12:45Speaker 2: Both of these teams are not going anywhere in the
- 12:47Speaker 2: SEC except downward spiral. I lean towards Tennessee, but that
- 12:52Speaker 2: half a point scares me.
- 12:53Speaker 1: 230 ballgame, Virginia minus two and a half at Florida State.
- 12:57Speaker 1: That totals at 51 and a half. Can Virginia slam
- 13:00Speaker 1: the door on Mike Norvell Saturday?
- 13:02Speaker 2: I think they can. Here's another one. You've got to
- 13:06Speaker 2: figure these Florida State fans are hearing this week after
- 13:09Speaker 2: week after week about their head coach. Is he going?
- 13:11Speaker 2: Is he staying? Buyouts this number, buyouts this number. It's
- 13:15Speaker 2: got to affect it. But at least if you're Florida State,
- 13:18Speaker 2: at least you can say, hey, the Maryland head coach
- 13:20Speaker 2: is probably going to be the first team fired. Lincoln
- 13:22Speaker 2: Riley actually made our list. He's in the top five
- 13:25Speaker 2: for the first one to be fired after they lost
- 13:28Speaker 2: to Oregon last week.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Yeah, no, there is no doubt. Kentucky heads over to
- 13:32Speaker 1: South Carolina. South Carolina minus three. The total is at 53.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Talk about another guy on a hot seat. Now, South
- 13:37Speaker 1: Carolina has won four and or five in a row
- 13:39Speaker 1: in this series. Kentucky looks to be the better football team.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Shane Beamer desperately needs a win. I mean, he just
- 13:46Speaker 1: lost to Mississippi State, got blown out against Alabama. This
- 13:49Speaker 1: has not gone the way he's wanted to go.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he's gone. The punch, I can't think
- 13:56Speaker 2: of the defensive guy that they kicked off against.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:00Speaker 2: I can't think of his name right now.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I know who you're talking about. Yeah, that was terrible.
- 14:04Speaker 2: They're saying he's not playing. They're saying he may not
- 14:06Speaker 2: ever play again for South Carolina. So they're reading all that.
- 14:10Speaker 2: I want nothing to do with the Gamecocks. I'm still mad.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I apologize, Mississippi State. Yes, I bet South Carolina to
- 14:16Speaker 2: beat you guys. I apologize again. That's two straight weeks.
- 14:20Speaker 2: I want nothing to do with the Gamecocks. It's Kentucky
- 14:21Speaker 2: or pass for me.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Saturday night, 630. Clemson is a 17-point underdog against Miami.
- 14:29Speaker 1: The Canes are rolling. They're immense. He's got more touchdown
- 14:33Speaker 1: passes than he does incompletions. And this is the biggest
- 14:37Speaker 1: line Dabo has had to face since he was hired
- 14:40Speaker 1: at Clemson. Does Miami just absolutely wear them out Saturday?
- 14:44Speaker 2: Dabo's been double-digit underdogs five times in his coaching career.
- 14:49Speaker 2: He's lost all five of them and one in four
- 14:51Speaker 2: against the spread. Miami puts a beating on them. I'm sorry.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Clemson is done. They're no longer an echelon of college
- 14:58Speaker 2: football or even in the ACC. Now we need to
- 15:00Speaker 2: start talking about teams like Batech, Miami, Smoot, Louisville. These
- 15:05Speaker 2: are the teams of the ACC, not Dabo and Clemson.
- 15:09Speaker 1: And Lincoln Riley, they need to rebound this weekend. They
- 15:11Speaker 1: got Washington coming in a Huskies old Pac-12 showdown out
- 15:15Speaker 1: west at the Coliseum. USC, nine and a half point favorite.
- 15:18Speaker 1: That totals at 58 and a half. They've got some
- 15:21Speaker 1: stuff to clean up as well. They were very dirty
- 15:23Speaker 1: against Oregon, the hit against Oregon, the play-by-play guys clowning
- 15:27Speaker 1: about it on the radio broadcast. Can Washington hang in
- 15:30Speaker 1: this game four quarters?
- 15:31Speaker 2: I think they can. I'd like USC to win this game.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I thought it was going to be like a seven
- 15:35Speaker 2: and a half number. I thought nine and a half
- 15:37Speaker 2: was a little bit tad high. But it's all about USC.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I think if they can run their offense and put
- 15:42Speaker 2: points on the board, I think Washington's going to be
- 15:45Speaker 2: dead in the water. But if it's a nail biter,
- 15:47Speaker 2: low scoring game, I can see Washington covering this one.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Let's grab a couple NFL games. We'll get you on
- 15:52Speaker 1: your way. We'll grab the rest of them this week
- 15:54Speaker 1: on the drive. Rams at Philly. Rams minus three. That's
- 15:58Speaker 1: a 12 o'clock kick. This totals at 44 between two
- 16:01Speaker 1: of the perceived heavyweights in the NFC.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Boy, did the Bears expose the Eagles. They can't run
- 16:07Speaker 2: the ball. Their tight ends couldn't do anything. I like
- 16:11Speaker 2: the Rams in this spot. I think the Rams are
- 16:13Speaker 2: improving week after week. Puka is probably still in that plane,
- 16:17Speaker 2: but it doesn't look like they really need him right now.
- 16:20Speaker 2: I like the Rams in this spot.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Broncos at 49ers. Niners getting two and a half. Totals
- 16:25Speaker 1: at 47 and a half. Two really good football teams.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I don't want to say a precursor possible Super Bowl matchup,
- 16:30Speaker 1: but here we are.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm a teeter-totter. Yes, surprised that San Francisco is
- 16:35Speaker 2: still undefeated, but I think Denver is improving week after week.
- 16:39Speaker 2: It wouldn't shock me if the Broncos steal this one.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I'm going to take the plus three on this one.
- 16:46Speaker 2: I think it's a nail-biter. I like the Broncos and
- 16:48Speaker 2: their defense.
- 16:49Speaker 1: And who would have thunk it? I know you probably
- 16:51Speaker 1: said it because you're kind of like Nostradamus here. Undefeated Chiefs,
- 16:56Speaker 1: undefeated Raiders. How about that?
- 16:58Speaker 3: Who you got?
- 16:58Speaker 1: Can the Raiders hang in there?
- 17:00Speaker 2: I think they can. I mean, let's face it. I mean,
- 17:03Speaker 2: the Chiefs didn't steamroll the Dolphins last week. It's not
- 17:07Speaker 2: like it was just a fourth-quarter touchdown that made the
- 17:09Speaker 2: score a little bit lopsided. I think the Raiders have
- 17:12Speaker 2: something to prove, and I think they know, hey, Kirk
- 17:14Speaker 2: Cousins is our quarterback now where he's not being pulled,
- 17:18Speaker 2: and we get to see the best tight end in
- 17:19Speaker 2: football play, Brock Bowers. He's unbelievable.
- 17:23Speaker 1: He really is. All right, let's grab one more real quick.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Which one do you want to go to?
- 17:27Speaker 2: We got to talk about the Monday night game.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Absolutely, we do. Absolutely, we do. Let's see. Monday night, Falcons-Saints.
- 17:35Speaker 1: You got the Saints minus two and a half. This
- 17:37Speaker 1: totals at 48. And, of course, a big one down
- 17:40Speaker 1: in the Dome on Monday night.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's almost the anniversary of Gleason blocking the punt
- 17:45Speaker 2: for the first game ever being played in the Superdome
- 17:50Speaker 2: after Katrina. Wow, what a coinkydink that the Falcons are
- 17:54Speaker 2: in town for Monday Night Football. I just don't see
- 17:56Speaker 2: the Saints losing back-to-back games like this, even though Pennix
- 18:00Speaker 2: and that Falcons offense moved really good. And that's even
- 18:03Speaker 2: with Pitts not even doing anything. But, boy, did he
- 18:06Speaker 2: black well in that game that they won. I think
- 18:09Speaker 2: the Saints pulling this one out with another high-scoring game.
- 18:12Speaker 1: As far as the teleprompter, where to find your work,
- 18:14Speaker 1: you got a lot of stuff to punch out, even
- 18:16Speaker 1: the Politico stuff. How many billions did you say was
- 18:18Speaker 1: being bet?
- 18:19Speaker 2: A million dollars probably going to be bet on. And
- 18:22Speaker 2: there's going to be a couple states that are normally
- 18:24Speaker 2: red that might turn blue.
- 18:26Speaker 1: It's going to be a bath one way or the other.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Where can people find your stuff?
- 18:30Speaker 2: You can find me over at X at VSI.sports. You
- 18:33Speaker 2: can find me on Instagram at Rafael Esparza.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Hey, programming note, we will be off tomorrow after travel,
- 18:39Speaker 1: so can I get you Friday on the drive?
- 18:41Speaker 2: What are you, a vacation day tomorrow?
- 18:43Speaker 1: No, I've got to travel to the Delta for a
- 18:44Speaker 1: junior college football game. Mississippi Delta and Hines.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Yeah, text me. I think Friday's good.
- 18:48Speaker 1: All right. Appreciate you, brother.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Thanks.

- 19:06Speaker 1: a chance to win playoff tickets, national championship tickets, courtesy
- 19:11Speaker 1: of Dr.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Pepper.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Rob Brown, patiently waiting. My man, sidelines.live. He is on
- 19:17Speaker 1: your stream tonight, hanging out with us tonight. Rob, thank
- 19:20Speaker 1: you so much. How are you, brother?
- 19:22Speaker 3: Doing great.
- 19:22Speaker 4: I love that content just then. And I'm with you
- 19:26Speaker 4: about Lincoln Riley. I mean, when he was in the
- 19:27Speaker 4: Big 12– There was no competition, and when he got–
- 19:31Speaker 4: he left because the SEC– Oklahoma was going to the SEC.
- 19:36Speaker 4: He is no different. Zebras don't change their stripes, just
- 19:39Speaker 4: their watering holes. They're going to get rid of him
- 19:41Speaker 4: by midseason.
- 19:43Speaker 1: No, I think you're right. Look, I didn't get a
- 19:45Speaker 1: chance to get into it today. I know you guys
- 19:47Speaker 1: are all over this stuff too. Ross Dillinger is reporting it.
- 19:50Speaker 1: that the buyout money could exceed or at least pop
- 19:54Speaker 1: what was last year. I mean, you're looking at Lake
- 19:56Speaker 1: and Riley, maybe, and we'll get into some of this,
- 19:59Speaker 1: maybe Beamer at South Carolina, Norvell at Florida State. Maryland's
- 20:03Speaker 1: got a problem. There's a lot of coaches that could be.
- 20:06Speaker 1: We could see a coach shuffle through the offseason.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Schools are going to have to start floating municipal bond
- 20:13Speaker 4: issues to pay these things off.
- 20:14Speaker 3: I mean, it's ridiculous. And just sell tax-free bonds.
- 20:17Speaker 4: I don't know if you can do it, but I
- 20:19Speaker 4: would be furious if I were a donor and I
- 20:21Speaker 4: was having to constantly flush these guys down the toilet.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Gary Patterson, the games passed him by. Their defense, what
- 20:29Speaker 4: they did against Oregon, Dylan Riella came in and carved
- 20:34Speaker 4: him up in the second half. But Mike Norvell– You know,
- 20:37Speaker 4: if you know you've made the wrong hire and you keep.
- 20:40Speaker 3: Him on there, it's going to cost you even more
- 20:42Speaker 3: in the long run.
- 20:44Speaker 4: They're repelling fans, and you better be careful of losing
- 20:48Speaker 4: a generation of fans, and that can happen. I mean,
- 20:52Speaker 4: I don't know how Nebraska does it, but they've lost
- 20:55Speaker 4: a generation or two of fans. Southern Cal, they've been
- 20:58Speaker 4: through this before. From 1982 to 2002, they only had
- 21:02Speaker 4: one 10-win season. Then Pete Carroll comes to town, everything changed.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Big one in Starkville. Biggest one they've had since 2014.
- 21:09Speaker 1: You know, I remember that game. Game day was there.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Auburn came into town. I actually worked that game as
- 21:15Speaker 1: a reporter and took pictures for Mississippi Gridiron that day.
- 21:19Speaker 1: It was on the sidelines to watch Dak Prescott and
- 21:22Speaker 1: Deronja Wilson rest in peace. Fred Brown. I mean, Josh
- 21:25Speaker 1: Robinson beat Auburn and go to number one. Mississippi State
- 21:29Speaker 1: wouldn't go to number one if they win, but man,
- 21:31Speaker 1: rain's going to play a factor here, so that'll put
- 21:33Speaker 1: a little damper on it, but Who would have thought
- 21:36Speaker 1: Kamario Taylor, Mississippi State, Alabama, this weekend, biggest game in
- 21:41Speaker 1: the SEC?
- 21:42Speaker 4: You, I mean, because you've been talking about Kamario Taylor
- 21:46Speaker 4: and you've chronicled his progress.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Like nobody else.
- 21:49Speaker 4: I think you could say that, well, it's going to be,
- 21:53Speaker 4: the moment's going to be too big. Kamario's going to
- 21:55Speaker 4: try to carry this team on his shoulder.
- 21:57Speaker 3: What the hell else do you want? He's an elevator.
- 21:59Speaker 4: He's going to make, he's going to talk to everybody
- 22:01Speaker 4: in that locker room and on the field before the game.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Keelan Russell is a freshman, too. He's playing on the road.
- 22:09Speaker 3: He hasn't had to do that yet. The moment's not
- 22:12Speaker 3: going to be too big.
- 22:13Speaker 4: I was at that game in 2014, 38-23. I think
- 22:20Speaker 4: Nick Marshall's first three possessions, interception.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Interception, interception. Oh, yeah.
- 22:26Speaker 4: It was bad.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Oh, it was rough. But State got to be number
- 22:29Speaker 3: one for about five weeks.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:31Speaker 1: And it was Bama that took them out.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:33Speaker 2: It was.
- 22:35Speaker 4: There's a lot of irony here, but this is a
- 22:38Speaker 4: great Southern rivalry. Mississippi State doesn't win as many as
- 22:44Speaker 4: they'd like to, but they're going to play a full 60.
- 22:47Speaker 4: And the way this team's playing, they've been so close,
- 22:51Speaker 4: especially last year.
- 22:52Speaker 3: They've learned how to win. And I like them at home.
- 22:58Speaker 3: I do.
- 22:58Speaker 4: I don't care as much about it being at home
- 23:01Speaker 4: or whatever, but I like Kamario Taylor.
- 23:04Speaker 3: And his receivers are really good at getting open.
- 23:07Speaker 4: And Fluff Bothwell is there from Antiana, Alabama, where Purdue's
- 23:12Speaker 4: grocery is near the Locust Fork of the Warrior River.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Great place.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Let's move on because that's going to be a great one.
- 23:18Speaker 1: We've got some good ones. Florida, man, they just buzzsaw
- 23:21Speaker 1: Ole Miss. I didn't see it coming. Maybe you did.
- 23:23Speaker 1: You know, Jaden Ball is the best back in the country.
- 23:26Speaker 1: He's got to be right there at the top. You know,
- 23:28Speaker 1: they've got Philo, the quarterback, is really good. They really
- 23:32Speaker 1: looked good, and Ole Miss just chased all day. Now
- 23:33Speaker 1: they've got to go on the road to Missouri. You
- 23:35Speaker 1: give Missouri a puncher's chance at home?
- 23:38Speaker 4: Missouri's like one in nine in the last ten games
- 23:40Speaker 4: against really good teams.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Florida will just beat them.
- 23:44Speaker 4: And I like Eli Drinkwitz. Previous three years, 29 wins.
- 23:49Speaker 4: But where are the quality wins? They just don't do it.
- 23:53Speaker 4: It's not in their DNA. Portability of success is a
- 23:57Speaker 4: huge deal in sports. John Summerall. Two years at Troy,
- 24:01Speaker 4: two conference championships. Two years at Tulane, two conference championship appearances.
- 24:06Speaker 3: He won one.
- 24:07Speaker 4: He got to the CFP last year. They're going to
- 24:10Speaker 4: come up here, and he'll find excuses to win. Austin Simmons,
- 24:16Speaker 4: who's playing better than Aaron Filo right now?
- 24:18Speaker 3: I'm taking the Gators. Tennessee.
- 24:21Speaker 1: They took on the Auburn Tigers this weekend. Tennessee, they
- 24:24Speaker 1: had their moments against Texas. We can talk about Texas, too.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Texas has looked– average at best but the thing is
- 24:31Speaker 1: they're undefeated they beat ohio state they gave tennessee they
- 24:35Speaker 1: opened the door gave them every chance even though they
- 24:37Speaker 1: got uh you know 10 or 11 sacks or whatever
- 24:39Speaker 1: it was but they got the victory tennessee there's some
- 24:42Speaker 1: good young quarterbacks in the sec camaro taylor we've talked
- 24:45Speaker 1: about you talked about keelan russell uh philo and tennessee's
- 24:48Speaker 1: got another one uh as well but auburn auburn i
- 24:52Speaker 1: think really needs to to hit a different gear i
- 24:54Speaker 1: mean auburn's a team that's going to go bowling probably
- 24:57Speaker 1: but can they go to knoxville and win this weekend.
- 24:59Speaker 3: I think they can. I really do.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Auburn's defense just got trucked against Florida. And they've won
- 25:07Speaker 4: 21-15 over Vanderbilt. I like Auburn on the road in
- 25:10Speaker 4: this game. I think Tennessee put a lot into the
- 25:14Speaker 4: Texas game. And I don't think they're paying that much
- 25:17Speaker 4: attention to Auburn. I mean, Auburn leads that all-time series.
- 25:20Speaker 4: I think they've won seven of the last eight games.
- 25:22Speaker 4: They've won three in a row in Knoxville. Different personnel.
- 25:26Speaker 4: They don't have Ronnie Brown on this team. They don't
- 25:28Speaker 4: have Trey Mason. The last time they played up there
- 25:30Speaker 4: was 2013. But what I like about Auburn in this game,
- 25:35Speaker 4: the matchup is I like Auburn's defense. The Jim Knowles
- 25:39Speaker 4: defense for Tennessee is going to be really good.
- 25:41Speaker 3: This is D.J.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Durkin's third year. There's just a lot of matchups on
- 25:45Speaker 4: game day. But I really like Byron Brown is due
- 25:49Speaker 4: for a breakout game.
- 25:51Speaker 3: He's like a stock.
- 25:52Speaker 4: That's 200-day moving average.
- 25:53Speaker 3: He's about to break out. Faison Brandon, outstanding quarterback.
- 25:58Speaker 4: But I think Auburn's defense gets the win and special
- 26:01Speaker 4: teams in a weird way, something like 27 to 17.
- 26:07Speaker 3: It could be, it'll be crazy. But I think Auburn
- 26:10Speaker 3: can do it.
- 26:12Speaker 1: South Carolina seems to be unraveling. You know, you had
- 26:15Speaker 1: the incident with the defensive end and the punch. He
- 26:18Speaker 1: may not be coming back. Shane Beamer's trying to say
- 26:21Speaker 1: the right things. He's talking practice this week. If they
- 26:25Speaker 1: lose to Kentucky, and this is a Kentucky team that's salty,
- 26:27Speaker 1: very salty. This could be it for him.
- 26:32Speaker 4: Well, what is South Carolina? The standard for South Carolina
- 26:37Speaker 4: is a few of the Lou Holtz years, 2011, 2012, 2013,
- 26:42Speaker 4: and 2009, of course, 2010, when they went to the
- 26:45Speaker 4: SEC championship. They got one conference championship in the school's history, 1969,
- 26:50Speaker 4: co-champions of the ACC with Wake Forest. There were seven
- 26:52Speaker 4: and four. Prior to Steve Spurrier getting in their history
- 26:56Speaker 4: since 1892, they had one 10-win season.
- 26:58Speaker 3: That was Joe Morris in 1984.
- 27:01Speaker 4: I don't think South Carolina has the money to get
- 27:06Speaker 4: rid of Shane Beamer, but this is an even year.
- 27:10Speaker 3: You thought they'd be better?
- 27:12Speaker 4: Here's their problem, and it's the same problem Texas A
- 27:14Speaker 4: & M has. They've got a quarterback who's regressing and
- 27:18Speaker 4: just it's dragging the team down with him. Lenora Sellers
- 27:22Speaker 4: has really four good games in his career, and Kentucky
- 27:27Speaker 4: is new with Will Stein, and I'm sitting there thinking
- 27:30Speaker 4: about that game. It's at South Carolina, and I'm not
- 27:36Speaker 4: sure it really matters anymore, and I'm not sure those
- 27:38Speaker 4: guys believe that they can win.
- 27:41Speaker 1: You spoke about Texas A & M briefly. I don't
- 27:44Speaker 1: know that any of us saw the regression of Texas
- 27:47Speaker 1: A & M and Oklahoma. A lot of it's a quarterback.
- 27:48Speaker 1: John Mateer, I'm going to be honest. I said this
- 27:49Speaker 1: on the internet. I wasn't being funny. I feel sorry
- 27:51Speaker 1: for him. I mean, I really do. He just, he's
- 27:54Speaker 1: going backwards. Something's going on mentally. He's been in press
- 27:57Speaker 1: conferences talking about the fans and the crowd and hearing that,
- 28:00Speaker 1: you know, what's going on in College Station and also
- 28:04Speaker 1: in Norman because they have put a ton of money
- 28:06Speaker 1: into these teams.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Well, you start with College Station. Oh, it's no big deal.
- 28:11Speaker 3: They'll just, you know, next man up.
- 28:13Speaker 4: They lost their offensive and defensive coordinators from last year's
- 28:16Speaker 4: 11-2 CFP team.
- 28:18Speaker 3: That stuff matters. I mean, one, you just don't, you.
- 28:23Speaker 4: Know, Holman Wiggins or whatever, he'd never been a play
- 28:26Speaker 4: caller before. If you hire your buddies, you know what happens?
- 28:30Speaker 4: You and your buddies get fired. It's just when are
- 28:32Speaker 4: people going to learn that? They've just gone backwards. Again,
- 28:36Speaker 4: Marcel Reed's regression, like John Mateer. Ben Arbuckle, he's 29
- 28:41Speaker 4: years old.
- 28:42Speaker 3: Oh, they're cool.
- 28:42Speaker 4: Look what he did at Washington State. He, in that
- 28:46Speaker 4: offense that they have, they can't run the ball. I mean,
- 28:50Speaker 4: it doesn't matter, 1992, 2026. If you can't run the
- 28:55Speaker 4: ball in.
- 28:55Speaker 3: The SEC, you can't win. I'm shocked. I thought Oklahoma.
- 28:59Speaker 3: I had them in my top five SEC schools this year.
- 29:02Speaker 2: I did, too.
- 29:03Speaker 4: John Mateer's regression, something mentally snapped with this guy.
- 29:08Speaker 3: He's out of Little Elm, Texas. But I know he
- 29:12Speaker 3: looks good, you know, physically. He's got all the tools.
- 29:16Speaker 3: He just can't throw the ball.
- 29:17Speaker 4: And Ben Arbuckle and him, it's almost as if other
- 29:21Speaker 4: teams know their plays, their calling.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Their offense can't do anything.
- 29:26Speaker 4: And for the second straight year, they've got a championship-level defense.
- 29:30Speaker 4: And the offense this year, again, like Marcel Reed, it
- 29:33Speaker 4: just gets worse every week. And it's hard in week
- 29:36Speaker 4: five to suddenly fix that.
- 29:39Speaker 3: There's really nothing.
- 29:40Speaker 4: That you can do if you're on the side of
- 29:42Speaker 4: a mountain and an avalanche is coming down on top
- 29:45Speaker 4: of you.
- 29:45Speaker 3: You can't stop it.
- 29:47Speaker 1: You're right. Speaking of avalanches, Texas is number one, but, boy,
- 29:51Speaker 1: Georgia looks good. And I know they haven't played a
- 29:53Speaker 1: top ten opponent. They've got Vanderbilt coming up this weekend.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Vanderbilt's got some nice tools. I think their freshman quarterback
- 30:00Speaker 1: is going to be really good at some point. But Georgia,
- 30:03Speaker 1: are they the best team in the league by far?
- 30:05Speaker 3: They're the best team in the country.
- 30:06Speaker 4: And I'm sitting here– I'm actually right now making sure
- 30:09Speaker 4: that I retweak this show. I love this nighttime show
- 30:12Speaker 4: that you do. I love your afternoon show. I love
- 30:15Speaker 4: it when you come on my show. You could, you know,
- 30:18Speaker 4: parachute in from Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, and you would know
- 30:23Speaker 4: Georgia's the best team in the country. A couple of
- 30:25Speaker 4: reasons why. They've got the best quarterback in the SEC.
- 30:29Speaker 4: The only championship quarterback we have is Gunnar Stockton. They've
- 30:32Speaker 4: got a really strong offensive line. Guys like Elijah Griffin
- 30:36Speaker 4: on the defense are getting better. But Kirby has a
- 30:40Speaker 4: culture where every player on that Georgia team knows the name,
- 30:44Speaker 4: the hometown, the major stuff about the family of every teammate.
- 30:49Speaker 4: They will fight for the guy to their left, to
- 30:51Speaker 4: their right, in front of them, behind them. And they're
- 30:54Speaker 4: better– Georgia is the best team in the country. Kirby's
- 30:57Speaker 4: the best coach in the country because he gets his
- 31:00Speaker 4: ones to play and practice as hard as his twos
- 31:03Speaker 4: and threes. And they lose guys in the portal. Everybody does.
- 31:07Speaker 4: But they're also more selective in who they bring in.
- 31:10Speaker 4: Like Alex Anthopoulos, manager, you know, clubhouse manager of the Braves,
- 31:14Speaker 4: general manager. No cancers in the clubhouse. Kirby doesn't put
- 31:19Speaker 4: up with it. Yeah, I know the jokes about the
- 31:21Speaker 4: speeding and all the stuff like that up there in Athens.
- 31:24Speaker 4: If you looked at the police blotter at every school
- 31:26Speaker 4: in the SEC, you're going to find lots of warts
- 31:28Speaker 4: and cankers. There's something Georgia, I have them play in
- 31:33Speaker 4: Miami for the national championship this year. That culture means
- 31:37Speaker 4: that you will do whatever it takes, and they're great
- 31:41Speaker 4: at finding new ways to win every week.
- 31:43Speaker 3: And I don't care who they've played.
- 31:45Speaker 4: They are, like Chuck Oliver's term, watching Georgia play defense
- 31:49Speaker 4: right now It's like being at the Memphis Zoo at 2.30
- 31:51Speaker 4: in the afternoon watching the pythons and the cobras and
- 31:54Speaker 4: the anacondas eat.
- 31:56Speaker 3: It's spectacular, and you know what's going to happen.
- 31:58Speaker 4: The other guy, like the Globetrotters opponent, the Washington Generals,
- 32:02Speaker 4: doesn't stand a chance after tip-off.
- 32:04Speaker 1: A couple more minutes here with Rob Brown, and we
- 32:07Speaker 1: appreciate Rob joining us. LSU out of a month. We
- 32:10Speaker 1: saw them decimate Clemson. We saw them lose to Ole
- 32:12Speaker 1: Miss in a close game. They fought back. We saw
- 32:14Speaker 1: them take care of A & M. What do we
- 32:16Speaker 1: know about LSU after a month?
- 32:18Speaker 4: You know, and I know they were in that game
- 32:20Speaker 4: with Ole Miss until the very last play of the game,
- 32:22Speaker 4: and Pete Cordelli talked about it a lot Monday before
- 32:26Speaker 4: and after the LSU-Ole Miss game. Sam Leavitt isn't the
- 32:29Speaker 4: difference maker that Lane Kiffin thought he was going to be.
- 32:32Speaker 4: At this point, he runs a lot, but he was
- 32:35Speaker 4: banged up a little bit, and he stood in the
- 32:36Speaker 4: pocket against A & M Saturday night, threw for over
- 32:39Speaker 4: 300 yards.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Give him time. Lane Kiffin.
- 32:43Speaker 4: Is like that great fisherman. Eventually, he's going to find
- 32:47Speaker 4: the best bait in his tackle box. He'll figure this
- 32:50Speaker 4: stuff out. They've got a $ 45 million roster. The deal
- 32:54Speaker 4: is they've got so many players that have never played together.
- 32:58Speaker 4: You know, have you ever tried to rush gumbo? You
- 33:01Speaker 4: ever tried to eat meat before you let it rest
- 33:03Speaker 4: for 10 minutes off the grill?
- 33:05Speaker 3: You know, the juice on a great steak is.
- 33:07Speaker 4: All over the cutting block. You have to give them
- 33:09Speaker 4: a little bit of time, but they just manhandle. I mean,
- 33:13Speaker 4: it was like clubbing baby seals, watching them tear through
- 33:16Speaker 4: A & M.
- 33:16Speaker 3: The other night.
- 33:17Speaker 4: Remember the previous two years, Marcel Reed had a field day.
- 33:21Speaker 4: And he knew Blake Baker's defense.
- 33:23Speaker 3: But you know what?
- 33:24Speaker 4: Blake Baker's had more time to figure out Marcel Reed's offense.
- 33:29Speaker 4: And Holman Wiggins, he's terrible as an offensive coordinator. That's
- 33:34Speaker 4: a buddy hire. It's the same thing that Oregon did
- 33:37Speaker 4: this year. But Oregon has a backup in Dylan Riola.
- 33:41Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 33:42Speaker 4: I know Dante Moore will get back out there. He
- 33:44Speaker 4: might be the first or second pick in the draft.
- 33:46Speaker 4: But Lane Kiffin, say whatever you want about him. He's
- 33:50Speaker 4: an RCO path. The guy is one of the best
- 33:52Speaker 4: quarterback coaches and play callers in college. But he seems
- 33:57Speaker 4: to underwhelm a couple of times a year, just like Sark.
- 34:01Speaker 4: The best Saban assistant that's ever come under the Saban
- 34:06Speaker 4: tree is Kirby Smart out of Bainbridge, Georgia.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Lastly, Ole Miss, I know they're on a bye week.
- 34:12Speaker 1: They'll get Vanderbilt and, of course, Missouri coming up here
- 34:16Speaker 1: out of the break. Were they exposed? I mean, defensively,
- 34:20Speaker 1: they did not look good against Florida.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Yeah, and I've got them playing Georgia for the SEC championship.
- 34:26Speaker 4: I mean, let's face it, Pete Golding is the defensive coordinator.
- 34:29Speaker 3: He's a hell of a defensive coordinator, great recruiter.
- 34:32Speaker 4: Florida right now, I think people didn't respect and pay
- 34:36Speaker 4: enough attention to Aaron Filo. There were the jokes going
- 34:38Speaker 4: into the Auburn game. Oh, he played at a little
- 34:40Speaker 4: private Christian academy in Athens. He didn't get any SEC offers.
- 34:44Speaker 4: He sat on the bench for two years at Georgia
- 34:47Speaker 4: Tech with Buster Faulkner. Pete Cordelli talked Monday about Buster Faulkner.
- 34:51Speaker 4: He knew him from Arkansas State. Then he went to Georgia.
- 34:54Speaker 4: Look what he did with Stetson Bennett IV. Need I
- 34:57Speaker 4: say any more than he went to Jones Junior College
- 35:00Speaker 4: in Mississippi, came back, and he won back-to-back national titles.
- 35:04Speaker 4: The fact that he sat on the bench behind Haynes King,
- 35:06Speaker 4: quarterback at Georgia Tech, He was familiar with the system.
- 35:10Speaker 3: That Buster Faulkner runs.
- 35:12Speaker 4: I think, and Shane Matthews sat on our show this morning,
- 35:15Speaker 4: who knows a little about Florida and the quarterback position,
- 35:18Speaker 4: that he's playing about as well as any quarterback in
- 35:20Speaker 4: the country right now. What they exposed about Ole Miss
- 35:23Speaker 4: more than anything, and Yancey Porter said it too, Kwon
- 35:27Speaker 4: Lacey had about 228 yards against Florida last year.
- 35:30Speaker 3: He wasn't out there. That didn't help.
- 35:32Speaker 4: But I think, and I worried about this, Ole Miss
- 35:36Speaker 4: was too emotionally– and geared up for that game against LSU.
- 35:42Speaker 4: And that looked like ugly from back in the summer,
- 35:47Speaker 4: having to go on the road to the swamp. That's
- 35:49Speaker 4: a horrible place to play. I still got Ole Miss
- 35:52Speaker 4: winning 9 or 10, and I got them playing Georgia
- 35:54Speaker 4: for the SEC title. And I said it, so I
- 35:58Speaker 4: got to stick with it.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Absolutely. Rob, tell everybody where to find you when they
- 36:02Speaker 1: listen to this or if they listen to it now
