- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to KFY AM six forty, the Bill Handles
- 0:04Speaker 1: show on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
- 0:07Speaker 2: So, like, fourth is over, we're in the middle of soccer.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Some controversy there, what a shocker, the celebration of the
- 0:14Speaker 3: nation's two hundred and fiftieth is done. Some fun news
- 0:17Speaker 3: about that. So let me quickly say, hello, Amy.
- 0:20Speaker 4: Good morning, Hello, good morning.
- 0:23Speaker 2: I can't see.
- 0:25Speaker 3: What's on your T shirt because your long, lustrous, clearly
- 0:29Speaker 3: colored hair is covering it up.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Lisa have hair?
- 0:35Speaker 5: Oh got you there?
- 0:37Speaker 4: Oh oh, it's his Disneyland and look and if you notice,
- 0:40Speaker 4: it's it's like Halloween. They had it on, they had
- 0:45Speaker 4: it up already, and I was like, oh, I guess
- 0:47Speaker 4: it's time for Halloween now that fourth of July is over.
- 0:49Speaker 2: By the way, that was a cheap shot of yours.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Maybe really fact, it was a cheap shot for.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Me, Yeah, I was. Let me explain how the rules
- 0:57Speaker 2: work on this, on.
- 1:00Speaker 4: This show, on this bill Handle show.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02Speaker 3: If yes, if you look at any contract, anybody must
- 1:04Speaker 3: be under that the only person allowed to make fun
- 1:08Speaker 3: of the other crew members on the show is me.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Okay, we limited to me. There's certain things.
- 1:15Speaker 3: That that I'm the one that takes advantage of that
- 1:19Speaker 3: are given to me, Like I get all the money.
- 1:22Speaker 2: That's pretty important.
- 1:25Speaker 6: Besides, Handle has plenty of hair. It's just on his back.
- 1:29Speaker 3: It's true. Actually, that's true. It's really scary. I have
- 1:32Speaker 3: a hairy chest, I have a hairy back. You think
- 1:34Speaker 3: I'm an Armenian housewife. It is really you know, when
- 1:40Speaker 3: we what was that those photos that we took where
- 1:43Speaker 3: somehow my back was showing it. It wasn't of my back.
- 1:46Speaker 3: My back was just there and people were writing in Bill,
- 1:49Speaker 3: why do you wear your sweater? H it was It
- 1:53Speaker 3: was not fun, And that's how.
- 1:56Speaker 6: That's how I coined the term jewbaka.
- 2:00Speaker 2: That's true.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Actually it was, well, Neil, you started I started losing
- 2:03Speaker 3: my hair. By the time I was twenty three, I
- 2:05Speaker 3: was well on my way to baldosity.
- 2:07Speaker 5: That's about the same for me.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Is probably yeah, and uh will you're you're hairless?
- 2:15Speaker 2: Yeah, follicularly sir, No.
- 2:19Speaker 3: I look, look there's hair there, not very much hair. Yeah,
- 2:23Speaker 3: it's really scraggly. There's not much there.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Shad like Amy said, more than yours. Yeah, you're you know.
- 2:31Speaker 3: You're like it always seems like you're pretending to be
- 2:35Speaker 3: a man at the age of fourteen. If you're Amish
- 2:38Speaker 3: or you're a fundamental Jewish kid. Oh yeah, look at
- 2:41Speaker 3: my bird. Huh okay, uh we good start we've had.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Hey it's Monday morning. Good morning, Will, good morning, and
- 2:50Speaker 3: Neil good morning. Yeah. Yeah, Neil is looking much better
- 2:57Speaker 3: in the sense that Neil because uh yeah, and you
- 3:01Speaker 3: see it in his face. You can see it in
- 3:04Speaker 3: his face when you lose the weight. So Neil's looking
- 3:08Speaker 3: pretty good. So Neil's on his way to thin and
- 3:13Speaker 3: looks great. Amy traditionally thin, slender. I am probably the
- 3:19Speaker 3: lowest weight I've been as an adult. And Will that
- 3:23Speaker 3: leaves you?
- 3:24Speaker 2: Why is it always come back to me? Because it
- 3:26Speaker 2: always comes back to you. I did eat half of
- 3:29Speaker 2: Dodger Stadium this week.
- 3:33Speaker 3: There's so much food there. I just couldn't stop. Yeah,
- 3:36Speaker 3: and it's so cheap too. I get football games where
- 3:38Speaker 3: it gets really expensive. You go to SOFI and talking
- 3:41Speaker 3: about real quickly. Tony is here because is not today?
- 3:47Speaker 3: So Tony was the last time you filled in? It's
- 3:49Speaker 3: been a bit, Yeah, it has been a bit. Tony Serrantino.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Tony is the guy who basically handles handle on the law,
- 4:00Speaker 3: the editing and all of that.
- 4:02Speaker 5: That same Jesus show, and it has a lot of things.
- 4:06Speaker 3: A lot of stuff around here. No one knows exactly
- 4:08Speaker 3: what I do, that's true. No one was though, exactly
- 4:12Speaker 3: what you do. So I don't think coming in though
- 4:16Speaker 3: it's hard. Yeah, he comes in with the worst look
- 4:20Speaker 3: on his face.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's very tough.
- 4:24Speaker 3: This morning, I couldn't get my zoom working, and you
- 4:26Speaker 3: know my technical abilities. So woke up Lindsey and let
- 4:32Speaker 3: me tell you how happy she was to come down.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Here at four thirty. Oh yeah, Oh well, honey, can
- 4:40Speaker 2: you turn the magic box on for me? And it
- 4:44Speaker 2: fits up paper? I didn't say that. I didn't say.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I said, honey, the zoom isn't.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Working, is actually the quote? So hopefully she's back upstairs
- 4:55Speaker 3: asleep again. All right, there we go. Fourth of July
- 4:58Speaker 3: is done, and real quickly. I did nothing on the fourth, Amy,
- 5:03Speaker 3: what'd you do on.
- 5:04Speaker 4: The fourth Disneyland?
- 5:06Speaker 2: Oh of course you did. How crowded was it?
- 5:08Speaker 4: It was not crowded at all. The longest line that
- 5:11Speaker 4: we encountered was thirty five minute. Wait wow, and that
- 5:14Speaker 4: was the longest one. I mean, like we almost walked
- 5:17Speaker 4: onto several runs.
- 5:18Speaker 2: That's terrific.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Yeah it was. And the fireworks were spectacular.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sure more so than usual, I would guess.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Yeah, it was great and all just with the great
- 5:26Speaker 4: patriotic music and yeah it was great.
- 5:29Speaker 2: All right, Neils, you do anything for the fourth?
- 5:32Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 5:32Speaker 6: After the show on Friday, I drove the family up
- 5:35Speaker 6: to Big Bear's standard cabin for a little bit.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Did you say hi to the eglets for me?
- 5:40Speaker 5: I sure did. Actually we do wave when we drive by.
- 5:43Speaker 3: But mommy and Daddy Eaglid bailed during.
- 5:47Speaker 5: They came back. Listen.
- 5:49Speaker 6: It's a small town that deals with visitors and visitor dollars.
- 5:53Speaker 6: It's frustrating, but they have to do those things. They
- 5:56Speaker 6: had a crap season of snow and they had put
- 6:00Speaker 6: on a big show and they did. I was on
- 6:02Speaker 6: a pontoon with some friends and we watched them from
- 6:04Speaker 6: the water.
- 6:05Speaker 4: That's great. Yeah, you know what. And they did make
- 6:08Speaker 4: some alterations. They didn't use some of the loudest fireworks.
- 6:13Speaker 5: They weren't very loud. Actually, it wasn't a lot of modifications.
- 6:17Speaker 2: And the real quickly and what did you do for
- 6:20Speaker 2: the fourth?
- 6:21Speaker 3: We do? Uh?
- 6:22Speaker 4: The well locally, they do fireworks in our city, and
- 6:25Speaker 4: so we walked over to the park and watched, right sprinklers.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and we'll other than eating all the fourth would
- 6:31Speaker 2: you do anything?
- 6:32Speaker 3: Went to Dodgers the Dodgers game when they all right, okay, guys,
- 6:38Speaker 3: let's do it. We've got a lot, We've got a lot.
- 6:41Speaker 3: It's it's been quite a weekend all the way around.
- 6:43Speaker 3: It's time for Handle on the news. And by the way, Tony,
- 6:45Speaker 3: I don't care what you did either. Okay, let's do it.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Handle on the News on this Monday morning with Amy
- 6:53Speaker 3: Neil and me.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Lead story.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Well, another President Trump, well you want to use the
- 7:01Speaker 3: word conflict. Story is after fullign Ballagoon's red card band,
- 7:09Speaker 3: you got a red card and was thrown out of
- 7:12Speaker 3: the game, the soccer game that he was playing with Belgium,
- 7:16Speaker 3: controversial red card. Red card means you're tossed and the
- 7:21Speaker 3: person who sees a red card is then not allowed
- 7:24Speaker 3: to play the next game. And during the World Cup
- 7:26Speaker 3: that's a very big deal.
- 7:28Speaker 2: The president.
- 7:30Speaker 3: He came into the fray and he called they had
- 7:33Speaker 3: a FIFA and said would you review what the official did?
- 7:38Speaker 2: And FIFA reversed it.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Which is I think they may have done that once
- 7:43Speaker 3: or twice in the history of FIFA. Really controversial, and
- 7:47Speaker 3: this is where the president is accused of just basically
- 7:53Speaker 3: inserting himself in things that president should not. Although you know,
- 7:56Speaker 3: I got to tell you for those of us that
- 7:58Speaker 3: are and it's not a big deal Belgium because the
- 8:01Speaker 3: US won, and.
- 8:04Speaker 4: It is it was a bad red card anyway, It was.
- 8:07Speaker 3: A bad red card. But they do that all the time.
- 8:09Speaker 3: They are bad calls all the time in sports constantly,
- 8:13Speaker 3: and so yeah, so he got to turn it around.
- 8:17Speaker 3: And of course the backlash has been pretty incredible, and
- 8:22Speaker 3: it's interesting how he got there, and that is what
- 8:25Speaker 3: I'm going to do at seven o'clock what the machinations were,
- 8:28Speaker 3: because it is really interesting.
- 8:32Speaker 4: Voter ID on the docket. How Speaker Mike Johnson says
- 8:36Speaker 4: he plans to move quickly to advance President Trump's signature
- 8:40Speaker 4: voter ID legislation. He says he plans to use budget reconciliation.
- 8:46Speaker 4: This happens this week. Is expected to happen after he
- 8:50Speaker 4: sent lawmakers home early for the holidays, when some Republicans
- 8:53Speaker 4: kind of rebelled and basically brought a vote to a halt.
- 8:57Speaker 4: The President again said that the voter ID is his
- 9:02Speaker 4: signature legislation. He talked about it on the fourth of
- 9:04Speaker 4: July in the middle of the night because that speech
- 9:07Speaker 4: was delayed until like after eleven hours.
- 9:08Speaker 3: And we talked about it during his speech celebrating the
- 9:12Speaker 3: two hundred and fiftieth is supposed to be.
- 9:13Speaker 2: I would think nonpartisan, but what they hell?
- 9:16Speaker 3: And of course he used word communists and I don't
- 9:18Speaker 3: know how many dozen times, and I would ask him
- 9:21Speaker 3: look up the word communists and see if you know
- 9:23Speaker 3: what you're talking about, because you clearly don't. But according
- 9:27Speaker 3: to Mike Johnson, the speaker he is, he thinks he
- 9:30Speaker 3: can get it passed with his Reconciliation bill, which jumps
- 9:33Speaker 3: to a lot of hoops in order to do it.
- 9:35Speaker 3: And the President was very thrilled because after Mike Johnson
- 9:41Speaker 3: met with Trump and they went outside together and Trump
- 9:43Speaker 3: turned to him.
- 9:44Speaker 2: And go heal rollover, play dead. Mike Johnson.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Was his tongue hanging out and panting, and he went ahead,
- 9:56Speaker 3: and strangely enough, he has done exactly you talk about
- 10:01Speaker 3: a lap dog. My god, it's just embarrassing. At least Thune,
- 10:06Speaker 3: who is the majority leader in the Senate. I mean,
- 10:11Speaker 3: he is pro Trump, but he actually thinks for himself,
- 10:16Speaker 3: and the Senate is not given the way the House is.
- 10:19Speaker 3: All right, we're taking a break and we'll come back.
- 10:21Speaker 3: We put many more stories to cover.
- 10:24Speaker 7: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 10:28Speaker 7: six forty.
- 10:29Speaker 3: After the celebration of our two hundred and fiftieth birthday,
- 10:34Speaker 3: which was kind of neat. It was somewhat of a
- 10:38Speaker 3: Trump extravaganza, although less so than I thought.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Actually, there was actually mention.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Of the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of our country
- 10:49Speaker 3: as opposed to the eightieth birthday of Donald Trump, which
- 10:53Speaker 3: I thought was going to be literally the entire celebration. Okay,
- 10:57Speaker 3: moving on more, Come on, Amy, aching her head. There's
- 11:01Speaker 3: more truth than not on that one. Okay, Amy, Let's
- 11:06Speaker 3: continue on Handle on the news, Amy, Neil and me.
- 11:11Speaker 5: All right.
- 11:11Speaker 6: So it's not only that something burns, it's what burns
- 11:14Speaker 6: that matters, and boil Heights. That fire has shown us
- 11:18Speaker 6: a lot about the contents of the fire as well.
- 11:22Speaker 6: And now you have Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass writing
- 11:25Speaker 6: a letter and calling for greater accountability to clean up
- 11:30Speaker 6: and put forth a big effort following that warehouse fire
- 11:34Speaker 6: that destroyed that cold storage facility there in boil Heights.
- 11:38Speaker 6: So she sent a letter Saturday, and apparently in this
- 11:41Speaker 6: letter it says millions of pounds of rotting food remain
- 11:44Speaker 6: inside the warehouse no good. She wrote that the resulting
- 11:49Speaker 6: odor has made conditions in the surrounding areas unbearable and
- 11:54Speaker 6: calls for the company which owns that property to be
- 12:00Speaker 6: a part of it and to be a part of
- 12:03Speaker 6: cleaning that up and helping people that have been displaced
- 12:07Speaker 6: during that time. And we'll see what ends up happening.
- 12:11Speaker 6: But the company there is Lineage Logistics. That's the company
- 12:15Speaker 6: that operates the facility there.
- 12:19Speaker 2: And her ability to do that is about zero.
- 12:22Speaker 3: As long as the company is making reasonable attempts to
- 12:26Speaker 3: clean it up, it's not her call, other than the
- 12:30Speaker 3: city can say that there's a violation of code, that
- 12:34Speaker 3: it is a safety issue and they're not doing enough
- 12:37Speaker 3: for her to say, you're not doing it fast enough. Okay,
- 12:41Speaker 3: she can say that all she wants and then calling
- 12:44Speaker 3: on the company to put people up.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Where the hell is she getting that kind of authority?
- 12:50Speaker 5: She needs to.
- 12:50Speaker 6: Do something because she did so little for the big fires.
- 12:54Speaker 3: I know, but here's the question forcing the company to
- 12:57Speaker 3: do it. She has no authorization versus is putting city
- 13:01Speaker 3: people on the job to help them do it. Adding
- 13:05Speaker 3: staff city employees is one thing she can do, so.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Okay, and interesting too because Lineage Logistics may not be
- 13:17Speaker 4: responsible for that fire, So how do you hold them
- 13:19Speaker 4: accountable for it.
- 13:20Speaker 3: It's not a question of accountable. You have to hold
- 13:22Speaker 3: them for cleaning it up. Whether they're accountable or not.
- 13:26Speaker 3: There is the violation. If they let it just sit,
- 13:29Speaker 3: there is going to be coming up and that's and
- 13:33Speaker 3: that's a big violation. So then they sue whoever they
- 13:36Speaker 3: have to sue who's responsible for it. But I think
- 13:40Speaker 3: they have a They certainly have a duty to clean
- 13:41Speaker 3: it up.
- 13:42Speaker 2: It's just fast enough.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Where the city says no, it's not fast enough, all right,
- 13:46Speaker 3: So the city issues a violation and all Logistics Linear
- 13:51Speaker 3: Logistics has to do is say, hey, here's what we did.
- 13:53Speaker 2: You can't argue that it wasn't anything reasonable, just what.
- 13:57Speaker 4: You don't want to hear. On a plane, the pilot
- 14:00Speaker 4: of Delta Flight ten seventy six told air traffic controllers
- 14:04Speaker 4: as he was on final approach to Chicago's Midway International Airport.
- 14:11Speaker 4: We think we just got hit by fireworks.
- 14:15Speaker 5: Question.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Yeah, we had a firework hit our plane, said the pilot.
- 14:19Speaker 4: He said, we're hoping it was just a mortar that
- 14:21Speaker 4: went off underneath, but definitely felt a big bang. They
- 14:25Speaker 4: said they were continuing and they did land safely.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Which is good news. This business with fireworks.
- 14:30Speaker 3: What was that about that house that exploded, I mean
- 14:33Speaker 3: exploded where one person.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Died and three were injured in Chino.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Huh yeah, and it was I mean, that was the
- 14:40Speaker 3: number of the amount of fireworks that was in the
- 14:41Speaker 3: house was astronomical. Next Door to me is a family,
- 14:47Speaker 3: and they obviously enjoy fireworks, because last night there was
- 14:52Speaker 3: one big boom that sounded like a bomb had gone off,
- 14:55Speaker 3: and my poor dogs were cowering in the the corner
- 15:01Speaker 3: of one of them actually in this studio, and Lindsay
- 15:05Speaker 3: was in the other corner.
- 15:06Speaker 2: She was cowering too.
- 15:07Speaker 4: I mean, it was and there was just one big boom.
- 15:11Speaker 4: They were still going off in my neighborhood last night.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, no, no, they were going off like crazy,
- 15:15Speaker 3: but that one boom just it was astounding.
- 15:17Speaker 2: It sounded like a big bombing going off our.
- 15:20Speaker 6: Area is like bea route, yeah, is in I mean
- 15:26Speaker 6: literally all the security cameras go off everything because there's
- 15:30Speaker 6: lights and sound.
- 15:31Speaker 3: And the only way to deal with this as a
- 15:34Speaker 3: safety issue is that the police drive around and anybody
- 15:38Speaker 3: who was doing at home fireworks they.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Should the police shoot on site. That'll straighten it out.
- 15:45Speaker 5: Well.
- 15:45Speaker 6: The more the more they stop doing firework controlled fireworks
- 15:50Speaker 6: in settings by local cities, the more we see this.
- 15:54Speaker 4: You know, what I saw driving up the Five at
- 15:57Speaker 4: like one o'clock in the morning on Saturday night Sunday
- 15:59Speaker 4: morning was at least ten to twelve what looked like
- 16:05Speaker 4: fireworks displays going off right off the side of the freeway.
- 16:09Speaker 4: I mean just like on either side of the freeway.
- 16:11Speaker 4: It was going up the five. It was crazy.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Now the level of fireworks home fireworks, you literally can
- 16:19Speaker 3: confuse them with professional fireworks. It used to be little
- 16:23Speaker 3: the little tiny what do they call those things where
- 16:26Speaker 3: you hold them, the sparklers and little tiny things that
- 16:30Speaker 3: sprayed up and occasionally a bottle rocket. Yeah, the snakes
- 16:33Speaker 3: and the whistling pets.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Man. Now it's a whole different world.
- 16:38Speaker 6: Are you sure they weren't shooting at your house because
- 16:41Speaker 6: of the hammer and sickle flag you guys had out.
- 16:44Speaker 2: I don't think the next door neighbors care about that.
- 16:47Speaker 5: Okay, now, all.
- 16:49Speaker 6: Right, So Mexico World Cup run comes to an end
- 16:52Speaker 6: three to loss, England winning their June Jude rather Bellingham
- 17:00Speaker 6: on the crowd more than eighty thousand at the venue
- 17:02Speaker 6: there in Mexico, in the venue where Mexico has been
- 17:06Speaker 6: unbeaten in ten World Cup matches, including three this year,
- 17:12Speaker 6: And so it ended up being in England's favor and
- 17:18Speaker 6: that takes Mexico out for good, right, yeah.
- 17:21Speaker 2: It does.
- 17:21Speaker 4: Now two of the host countries are out, Mexico and Canada.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Oh in Brazil's out.
- 17:27Speaker 4: Brazil is out. They got beat by Norway.
- 17:29Speaker 2: I know, and no one expected that.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Brazil is the only country that has won the World
- 17:35Speaker 3: Cup five times, although it is not won in a
- 17:38Speaker 3: long time, and they've had some of the greatest soccer
- 17:41Speaker 3: players footootball players ever.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Now on Mexico, in Mexico City is was playing. Can
- 17:48Speaker 3: you imagine what that crowd was like?
- 17:51Speaker 5: Yeah? Probably not happy.
- 17:55Speaker 4: Well, the kids showed up, some of them. It runs
- 17:59Speaker 4: top officials and the brothers of the new Supreme Leader
- 18:04Speaker 4: came out of hiding to attend funeral prayers for Ayatola
- 18:08Speaker 4: Ali Haamini, who was killed on the first day of
- 18:12Speaker 4: strikes in the US Iran war. Iran's new Supreme Leader,
- 18:17Speaker 4: though has not yet made an appearance at the funeral
- 18:21Speaker 4: ceremonies which were going to be happening over the next
- 18:24Speaker 4: few days. He's believed to still be in hiding after
- 18:27Speaker 4: he was wounded in the airstrike that killed his dad.
- 18:30Speaker 4: We haven't seen him since.
- 18:34Speaker 6: All right, As we were just talking about, there was
- 18:36Speaker 6: a woman there in Chino died. Three others injured, including
- 18:40Speaker 6: a child. We don't know what age. They just said
- 18:43Speaker 6: that it was a minor in fireworks explosions there on
- 18:47Speaker 6: the fourth of July. So, according to the Chino Police Department,
- 18:51Speaker 6: detectives leave a large, large quantity of fireworks ignited, causing
- 18:56Speaker 6: explosion that injured these three adults in the child and
- 19:02Speaker 6: set a vehicle on fire.
- 19:05Speaker 5: But they were.
- 19:09Speaker 6: The whole thing is on video, obviously, because if you're
- 19:12Speaker 6: gonna have that much fireworks, that that many, you're gonna
- 19:16Speaker 6: you know, video it, and you can hear someone screaming
- 19:19Speaker 6: back up, back up, back up, everybody get back, and
- 19:23Speaker 6: things just started going off. It was a weird Fourth
- 19:25Speaker 6: July kind of. I get a lot of weird stories.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Really.
- 19:29Speaker 3: The good news is I haven't heard this year of
- 19:32Speaker 3: how many kids blew their hands off, because those are
- 19:34Speaker 3: the ones that, for some reason, I spend a lot
- 19:36Speaker 3: of time thinking about.
- 19:37Speaker 6: Oh, there's a video I think it was from last year,
- 19:40Speaker 6: a guy he wasn't a kid, but a guy blowing
- 19:44Speaker 6: his hand off on video.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Yeah, he's gonna have a hard time going and clapping
- 19:49Speaker 3: at musicals and or hitchhiking. It just doesn't work. Hands up, No,
- 19:54Speaker 3: not a chance, hands flying through the air. Okay, let's
- 19:57Speaker 3: take a break, we'll come back.
- 20:00Speaker 7: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 20:03Speaker 7: six forty.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I totally.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Ali Jamani is being buried this week, and he was
- 20:11Speaker 3: killed months ago. Now this is very unusual in the
- 20:14Speaker 3: world of Islam, because Islam, like Judaism, you throw the
- 20:19Speaker 3: dead person in the ground as quickly as possible. There's
- 20:22Speaker 3: no embalming. It's just you're dead, you're done. And he's
- 20:27Speaker 3: been preserved now for months. So either they did embalm them,
- 20:32Speaker 3: which I don't even know where they would get a
- 20:34Speaker 3: company that embalms in Iran or he is frozen and
- 20:42Speaker 3: brings Rigor Mortis to a whole new level. And so
- 20:45Speaker 3: it's going to be a week long ceremony. It'll be
- 20:49Speaker 3: marching bands, there'll be fireworks, there will be parades, they'll
- 20:54Speaker 3: be guest singers. It's going to be a big deal. Actually,
- 20:59Speaker 3: I don't think that's going to happen, but and millions
- 21:02Speaker 3: of people show up to this thing, of course. All right,
- 21:05Speaker 3: moving on, more handle in the news with Amy Neil
- 21:08Speaker 3: and me.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Someone needs to take this guy's license away. The husband
- 21:12Speaker 4: of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has apparently been involved
- 21:15Speaker 4: in a hit and run. Paul Pelosi was driving his
- 21:19Speaker 4: brown convertible on Friday in Yontonville, which is a town
- 21:22Speaker 4: in the heart of Wine Country. He hit a legally
- 21:24Speaker 4: parked car on the side of the road, briefly stopped,
- 21:27Speaker 4: then drove off. Then he was found about a quarter
- 21:30Speaker 4: mile away. There's damage to the front end of his car,
- 21:33Speaker 4: and he reportedly told officers, well, I knew I hit something,
- 21:37Speaker 4: but I wasn't sure what it was or what caused
- 21:39Speaker 4: that damage.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah, good luck, Duy.
- 21:44Speaker 4: A couple of years ago, too.
- 21:45Speaker 3: He did, he did, And that was up in Nama,
- 21:50Speaker 3: in Napa County. And you know Juntville, Jundeville is where
- 21:54Speaker 3: the French Laundry is one of the best restaurants probably
- 21:58Speaker 3: in the world. It's one of the few three star restaurants.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Three Michelin star restaurants in the United States are very
- 22:06Speaker 3: very few. Really, I have been. I thought it was
- 22:09Speaker 3: a waste of money and a waste of time. It's
- 22:12Speaker 3: very she she It was a fortune that that. I
- 22:14Speaker 3: mean we're talking twenty years ago. It was three hundred
- 22:17Speaker 3: and seventy five dollars for lunch. Lunch and dinner is
- 22:20Speaker 3: the same menu, and it is a price fixed menu.
- 22:23Speaker 3: And man, yeah, food is really good. But you know,
- 22:28Speaker 3: it's like I said, a lot of she she stuff
- 22:30Speaker 3: will be weird bits of stuff.
- 22:34Speaker 2: You ever been there?
- 22:36Speaker 4: Now? I was just looking up. How so now it
- 22:37Speaker 4: says the standard tasting menu now is four hundred and
- 22:41Speaker 4: twenty five dollars a person.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Yeah, lovely, Neil, you ever been there? No, sir, Yeah,
- 22:47Speaker 3: you should go. I mean I won't pay for it.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Yeah, you should go.
- 22:50Speaker 6: I will go at some time. But you got to
- 22:52Speaker 6: be in the mood and set for that type of.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's walking out the door is just I don't know.
- 22:59Speaker 4: Ooh, there's a bet an upgraded menu for nine hundred
- 23:02Speaker 4: and twenty five dollars per person and private dining experiences
- 23:07Speaker 4: that range from six hundred to twelve hundred dollars per person.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Well there you are.
- 23:11Speaker 4: Oh and drinks are not included in the party, of
- 23:13Speaker 4: course not.
- 23:16Speaker 3: And you know that they serve a lot of Thunderbird wine. Okay,
- 23:21Speaker 3: moving all plows. He's a jerk and I hope they
- 23:23Speaker 3: bring the hammer down on him.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Neil, what Neil? You're up?
- 23:32Speaker 5: Geez?
- 23:33Speaker 4: Okay, they'll missed that one.
- 23:34Speaker 5: A lot of judging people in here.
- 23:35Speaker 2: I did. I did miss that, all right.
- 23:38Speaker 6: Sharp administration Speaking up about the Leaguecoln memorial reflecting Pool,
- 23:44Speaker 6: Interior Secretary Doug Burgham said Sunday that he faced new
- 23:49Speaker 6: questions about the troubled project, the taxpairs money involved, and
- 23:53Speaker 6: he says that they're going to do repairs, but they're
- 24:00Speaker 6: not open to a new contractor. And this is what
- 24:03Speaker 6: got me. He said that they did a great job
- 24:08Speaker 6: right and the.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Only reason it went up and did the only reason
- 24:12Speaker 3: it is defective was someone had put in a three
- 24:16Speaker 3: hundred and fifty foot gash that was cut into the lining.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Now that gets interesting because first of all, of course
- 24:23Speaker 3: there's no evidence of that whatsoever. I'd love to see
- 24:25Speaker 3: if there was a gash. All they had to do,
- 24:27Speaker 3: I mean, the reflecting pool is two feet deep. All
- 24:29Speaker 3: you had to do is video it and then show
- 24:31Speaker 3: it to the world. No chance. All we saw are
- 24:34Speaker 3: pieces of that liner floating to the surface that were
- 24:38Speaker 3: all ragged. It looked like this just came out. And
- 24:40Speaker 3: then the guy who has been charged with desecrating a
- 24:45Speaker 3: public monument, Janine Pirout I think is her name, right,
- 24:49Speaker 3: she's the US attorney for that area, had a press
- 24:53Speaker 3: conference after he had been indicted, talking about the witnesses
- 24:57Speaker 3: said he put both hands into the reflecting pool violently.
- 25:03Speaker 3: He put in both hands. And they didn't say he
- 25:07Speaker 3: came up with a piece. They just said he violently
- 25:09Speaker 3: did that, and that he was obnoxious and belligerent to
- 25:14Speaker 3: park authorities. That's why we indicted him. Let me tell
- 25:18Speaker 3: you how quickly this one's going to disappear. Just such
- 25:20Speaker 3: a cheap stupid It was just stupid on its face.
- 25:25Speaker 3: So the indictment is easy. Anybody can get an indictment.
- 25:29Speaker 3: All they need is was one witness to come in
- 25:32Speaker 3: to the grand jury and say, yep, I saw him
- 25:34Speaker 3: pull it up, and that's enough for the indictment. Now
- 25:37Speaker 3: let's see what happens in the trial. Can't wait to
- 25:40Speaker 3: see that. It's this is crazy, but then again, I'm
- 25:46Speaker 3: not surprised. Let's take a break. We'll be back and
- 25:49Speaker 3: we'll continue on with more. We'll finish up actually Handle
- 25:52Speaker 3: on the News, and when we do come back, Amy
- 25:55Speaker 3: will talk about Jackie in Shadow, her favorite gutless bald Eagles,
- 26:01Speaker 3: Stop that should be arrested for child abuse and child endangerment.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Yes, we'll be back.
- 26:09Speaker 7: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 26:13Speaker 7: six forty.
- 26:13Speaker 3: After the two hundred and fiftieth Birthday celebration and after
- 26:17Speaker 3: July fourth, and we continue on board Handle on the
- 26:20Speaker 3: News with Amy, Neil and Me and a story for
- 26:24Speaker 3: Amy about her favorite bald Eagles, Jackie and Shadow, who
- 26:29Speaker 3: should be arrested death.
- 26:30Speaker 4: Oh stop, the kids are fine, The kids are fine.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Of course, there was a lot of concern over the
- 26:36Speaker 4: big fireworks show in Big Bear Lake that Neil was
- 26:40Speaker 4: up and got to see and said it was beautiful.
- 26:43Speaker 4: And there was concern that it was going to scare
- 26:44Speaker 4: the eagles and the Egltz Well Eglitz, Luna and Sandy
- 26:49Speaker 4: were seen safe in the nest right after the fireworks
- 26:53Speaker 4: show was pulled off, and in fact they sat in
- 26:57Speaker 4: the nest during the fireworks show. Jackie Shadow apparently took off,
- 27:01Speaker 4: but they came back the next day and they're in
- 27:03Speaker 4: the mountain day. They were hours of abandonment.
- 27:08Speaker 5: No, there was date night.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Okay, how about this?
- 27:11Speaker 3: All right, Let's say I'm walking with my kids and
- 27:16Speaker 3: a car is about to hit us, and I just
- 27:19Speaker 3: bail and let the car hit the kids, you know,
- 27:21Speaker 3: which I would do in a heartbeat. Yeah, you know,
- 27:23Speaker 3: I leave them alone and the car doesn't hit the kids. Okay,
- 27:28Speaker 3: does that make me any less a bad parent?
- 27:32Speaker 4: Uh? The kids have already left the house, so it
- 27:36Speaker 4: they just came back, so it's different. It'd be like
- 27:39Speaker 4: they're eighteen years old and they can hang out.
- 27:41Speaker 2: There are still your kids.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Okay, moving on, You and I can have a long
- 27:46Speaker 3: discussion about this.
- 27:48Speaker 4: Okay. Well, everybody's in the nest this morning, so it's
- 27:51Speaker 4: all as well.
- 27:52Speaker 5: Okay.
- 27:53Speaker 6: You know it's sad when something horrible happens and the
- 27:56Speaker 6: people that take advantage of it. This comes out of
- 27:59Speaker 6: the Palisades fire zone. You've got a group of men
- 28:03Speaker 6: who advertised work online in Pacific Palisades and collectively, we
- 28:09Speaker 6: don't know if they were together or separate or any
- 28:12Speaker 6: of these things, but collectedly they bid up to one
- 28:17Speaker 6: point two seven million dollars for construction projects in this
- 28:22Speaker 6: fire ravaged area. But they now face potential penalties for
- 28:27Speaker 6: allegedly operating without proper contractors license.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Yeah, now it looks like it didn't they actually it
- 28:33Speaker 3: doesn't look like they did construction.
- 28:36Speaker 2: But this is a violation.
- 28:37Speaker 3: You have to have a driver, I mean, they have
- 28:39Speaker 3: to have a constructional license, contractor's license. You have to
- 28:42Speaker 3: do it otherwise you're in violation of the law. And
- 28:46Speaker 3: so they're nailed. Do you know that if you do
- 28:50Speaker 3: more than five hundred dollars worth of work, you have
- 28:52Speaker 3: to be licensed at a home.
- 28:55Speaker 2: All right?
- 28:55Speaker 4: Amy, Apparently one Wimbledon loss was in a other so
- 29:02Speaker 4: she says she's hurt. So Serena Williams has withdrawn from
- 29:05Speaker 4: her doubles match with her sister Venus at Wimbledon that
- 29:09Speaker 4: was supposed to happen on Saturday. Apparently she suffered a
- 29:12Speaker 4: knee injury during her singles match earlier in the week.
- 29:18Speaker 4: That was the one in which she lost in straight sets.
- 29:22Speaker 4: So first, I think she retired in twenty twenty two.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Yeah, is it Serena or Venus?
- 29:28Speaker 3: It does the GLP one commercials for the weight loss drug.
- 29:32Speaker 5: I think that's Serre.
- 29:33Speaker 4: I think it's Serena.
- 29:35Speaker 2: So maybe maybe she was just too thin and she
- 29:40Speaker 2: was too frail to play. I don't know.
- 29:46Speaker 6: All right, this got swallowed with all kinds of news,
- 29:49Speaker 6: but it's pretty neat feet Grand Canyon River Rafting Guide.
- 29:54Speaker 6: She was focused on becoming the first American woman to
- 29:57Speaker 6: row across the Mid Pacific solo. She completed it record
- 30:02Speaker 6: breaking journey from California to Hawaii. Could you imagine? And
- 30:06Speaker 6: hundreds gathered there to cheer Kelsey Fendler as she pulled
- 30:12Speaker 6: into Honolulu Harbor on Friday night, twenty one foot rowboat Lily,
- 30:20Speaker 6: named after nearly a month and a half at sea,
- 30:24Speaker 6: and they were all excited and or two what it
- 30:27Speaker 6: was it?
- 30:27Speaker 5: Twenty four hundred mile journeys.
- 30:29Speaker 3: You do you question someone's mental fitness that is going
- 30:34Speaker 3: to row across the Pacific Ocean.
- 30:37Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 30:38Speaker 6: I like adventure and curiosity, and so if somebody feels
- 30:42Speaker 6: moved to do that, I don't. But if somebody feels
- 30:44Speaker 6: moved to do that, why not test their self push themselves?
- 30:48Speaker 2: I still feel Yeah, I don't know, no, no, I
- 30:52Speaker 2: I just don't.
- 30:53Speaker 6: You have an ass dent in your couch because you
- 30:55Speaker 6: don't want to move over. That's let alone to go
- 30:57Speaker 6: across twenty four.
- 30:58Speaker 3: That is absolutely true. There's no question about that. We're done, guys.
- 31:03Speaker 2: That is it.
- 31:03Speaker 3: Handle on the news is done now. Controversy at the
- 31:09Speaker 3: World Cup and this had to do with Americans and
- 31:14Speaker 3: a red card, and I'll explain what's going on. This
- 31:17Speaker 3: is a big deal in the world of soccer, which
- 31:20Speaker 3: is a big deal right now around the world. This
- 31:24Speaker 3: is KFI AM six.
- 31:27Speaker 1: You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show. Catch my
- 31:29Speaker 1: show Monday through Friday, six am to nine am, and
