Transcript
- 0:15Internet. The GM got caught in a Reddit
- 0:18Horror Story and we all saw it and yeah, we can't.
- 0:25We can't associate with him anymore.
- 0:30It wasn't our game. It was a different game.
- 0:31He was jamming for, you know, and then, but then we found out
- 0:34through the Grapevine and we, we read the post and it was, it
- 0:37was, it was Yikes. Bro, you want to talk about
- 0:41reading the post I OK, so for some reason the Internet just
- 0:45refuses to not give me Crispy's Tavern videos.
- 0:49And I watched the whole satin Phoenix, the Jameson Stone
- 0:52thing. Jeez.
- 0:55Christ brother, it got it got the.
- 0:59It got so bad the whole way, so deep.
- 1:03I forgot, man, it's been so long since that happened.
- 1:05Man. She really?
- 1:06You want to talk about someone who really legitimately got
- 1:09cancelled? Yeah.
- 1:11Oh, she's trying to come back. Apparently she was delete.
- 1:14I don't think it's going to work, but she was fucking
- 1:16deleted from existence. I I literally haven't heard
- 1:19about that fucking Jameson dude. Wasn't she?
- 1:22Wasn't she, didn't she work on like a third party book with
- 1:27Wizards or something at one point?
- 1:29Not with Wizards that book as far as I'm aware, despite being
- 1:34crowdfunded for $300,000. I'm I'm pretty sure they said in
- 1:37the video that it hasn't come out.
- 1:39Shocker. And it's.
- 1:40Been years. Wasn't there she was working
- 1:43with Wizards in some capacity. I feel like like like like sort
- 1:47of official officially hired or semi officially hired situation.
- 1:50But I, I. Could be wrong about that.
- 1:52She kind of did some like some of the stuff that Matt was doing
- 1:56with Wizards where it was like G Ms. Guide stuff.
- 2:00Or no, that was. That wasn't wizard, that was
- 2:01Geek and Sundry. Ah, maybe that's what I'm
- 2:03thinking of. Maybe that's what I'm thinking
- 2:06of. Yeah, Yeah, No, she was like all
- 2:10over the place. And then.
- 2:12Bye. And.
- 2:13Then the twit longer came out. Yeah, which by the way, man, you
- 2:17know, crazy, but she's really not to get too deep into it, but
- 2:23she's really perpetuating the stereotype, as it were, by being
- 2:28a person who was abused that then goes on to abuse.
- 2:32Oh yeah, It's like, God damn, dude.
- 2:36Because she has a whole fucking history with her.
- 2:38I think it was her dad. I remember I remember seeing a
- 2:43video where she went into her tragic back story but I never
- 2:46ended up watching it so I. A tragic back story.
- 2:49When it's somebody's actual life, it is I.
- 2:52Brother, I mean, fair enough. I don't know, it just feels like
- 2:56a literal, like a literal like sense of word.
- 2:59Tragic back story. It is a literal example, but God
- 3:02damn. You booing me?
- 3:08I'm I. Mean, I know you are.
- 3:09I just don't like. I just don't like saying it that
- 3:11way. Wow, wow.
- 3:15If anyone's curious what the fuck we're talking about, look
- 3:18up, I don't know, Satine Phoenix cancelled or something along
- 3:23those lines. Just the controversy.
- 3:26Controversy. Yes, Satine.
- 3:28How did she spell it again? SATINE.
- 3:32That's what. Yeah, yeah.
- 3:33Yeah. Oh, man.
- 3:37Yeah. Yep.
- 3:40Wasn't she? Was she?
- 3:42She was the one who was the porn star, too, right?
- 3:45Yes, that's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:48Which didn't help the situation. Not that it was relevant to the
- 3:53the like emotional abuse part, but didn't help the dog piling
- 3:56afterward. No, yeah, I mean it, definitely.
- 3:59Because people use it as, you know, ammo.
- 4:01Yeah, brother, I saw, I saw some of the comments people, some of
- 4:06the screenshots on that that like Instagram live thing she
- 4:10did were brutal. Even I was like, man, fuck this
- 4:13chick. But like my guy, think think
- 4:17back, think back to to trash taste when when Joey was talking
- 4:21about two Chan and he was like, is this really something another
- 4:24human being says to another person?
- 4:27That's the energy. Yeah.
- 4:31I mean, yeah, people say some fucking weird shit and they the
- 4:37problem is people be taking some weird digs like creator or
- 4:44whatever does a bad thing and then people take digs at them
- 4:48completely unrelated to the bad thing.
- 4:50You know, they'll be like, the creator stole money and they'll
- 4:54be like, also, you're a fat piece of shit.
- 4:56It's like, all right, well, that's not.
- 4:58Related to, we don't have to. Throw that in there.
- 5:01It's like, yeah, yeah, embezzlement.
- 5:02Also, you're ugly and you're like.
- 5:04You're like, hey, all right, what the fuck?
- 5:06Let's let's focus on the embezzlement here.
- 5:08That's literally what happens during the completionist, by the
- 5:11way. Yeah, no, I know.
- 5:14Can I just say? That's that one was particularly
- 5:17weird for me because like as it like I've always known Gerard,
- 5:21but I but I never watched completion of stuff, but he's
- 5:24friends with Jesse Cox and he was also on the podcast.
- 5:28I listen to friends per second, which is set up by skill up.
- 5:32If you know that YouTube. I don't and I don't know them
- 5:37now. Oh, you should watch Skill Up.
- 5:39He's very good, Very good. He's a really good reviewer.
- 5:42But anyway, that whole thing happened and on Jesse's channel
- 5:48they had Scary Game Squad and Gerard just mysteriously wasn't
- 5:52there anymore and they just like, didn't bring it up.
- 5:55And then on Friends Per Second, they were like, you, Gerard's
- 5:58not going to be on the show anymore anyway, moving on.
- 6:01And you're just like, yeah. That one kind of reminds me of
- 6:06the oh God, what's his name, Critical Role.
- 6:09Not Orion. Not Orion.
- 6:12Not Orion. I don't know.
- 6:16Brian W Foster. Oh.
- 6:18Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 6:23Yeah, yeah, that was a bad one. A part of me wants to look up
- 6:27the litigation going on with that, but I also like I feel
- 6:30like I should really respect these people's privacy, but I'd
- 6:34be lying if I said the the curiosity didn't.
- 6:37Yeah, I was almost. Taking a hold of me.
- 6:40If I didn't want the tea. I'd look, yeah, I mean, it's a
- 6:43natural. It's a natural reaction.
- 6:45I want to know what the fuck is going on.
- 6:46But like, yeah, I specifically have been like, no, I need to
- 6:49not do this. These people deserve privacy, as
- 6:53much privacy as Internet celebrities can have.
- 6:55I feel like we owe it to them, especially Ashley.
- 6:59As much as they can have. Yeah.
- 7:00Good point. Yeah, that's.
- 7:01Yeah, anyway, you know, it, it might seem like we're bringing
- 7:07up a completely unrelated topic, but we're sort of on topic
- 7:09already. We are, yeah, I mean, sort of
- 7:11kind of way. Privacy violations T on the
- 7:15Internet horror stories is all on topic, baby.
- 7:17Yeah, it's all on topic, baby, because we're about to hit that.
- 7:20We're about to hit that low brow content today, baby, we're going
- 7:24to read some RPG horror stories. We're getting sloppy I.
- 7:29Know we were calling it that, but like it's not, I don't know.
- 7:34I feel like there is a level of quality.
- 7:36It's a reading horror stories even though it is kind of a meme
- 7:39at this point. Yeah, but like, we're not going
- 7:42to do that. But I I'm not here for quality.
- 7:43I'm here. For sloppy.
- 7:45So when like when like Jacobs does it or when crit crab does
- 7:49it, that's quality. But what we're doing, this is
- 7:51pure Pulp Fiction, baby. I mean, they get a little sloppy
- 7:56with it too. I feel like Crit Crab in
- 7:57particular, really just, he just turns him out.
- 8:01It's such a pace. It's like God damn dude.
- 8:03I don't even know where he finds.
- 8:05All these fucking things. Usually it's Reddit as far as
- 8:08I'm aware also. I know, but like the the amount
- 8:11he finds. I cannot say a fucking thing
- 8:14against crit crab. That dude got me through working
- 8:16at one of the shittiest jobs I've ever worked in my life.
- 8:19It's fair, it's fair. I do.
- 8:20The rage that those that those horror stories.
- 8:23Gave me. Literally fueled my ability to
- 8:25do my job so I will never say a fucking thing against crit crab.
- 8:30That dude is my savior. We're about to relive some of
- 8:33it. I'm going to.
- 8:35Say some heinous things. I can feel it.
- 8:38Probably. Probably.
- 8:40Look, it's a good thing this video is not monetized because
- 8:42it's never going to get it. It's funny because so I mean,
- 8:47just for the, just for the brief context, like I had a different
- 8:53idea. I had a different topic in mind
- 8:55which is going to be dealing with the the the post arc slump.
- 9:00I didn't realize we already did an episode on that like not that
- 9:03long ago. I don't know why.
- 9:04I forgot or why? Yeah, like 10 episodes ago.
- 9:08I don't know why I didn't like Register in my brain.
- 9:10I guess just because I think honestly, the reason is because
- 9:14it's something that that frustrates and pisses me off so
- 9:18God damn much that I just was like, I wanted to bitch about it
- 9:21more. I guess.
- 9:22I don't really know because man, let me tell you that feeling
- 9:27after you finish a big arc, big adventure, going into that
- 9:31awkward in between phase, it is the bane of my existence in
- 9:34every game and I just, I just wish I could not.
- 9:38I just want to not. I I like that I had this exact
- 9:42reaction two months ago and you were like just don't forehead
- 9:47fuck you. I don't remember I.
- 9:51Don't remember saying just don't.
- 9:54You literally like just don't do it forehead just don't have just
- 9:56don't have the. Same.
- 9:58It's like that's how I responded because I've always had this
- 10:01frustration. I don't know if I believe you.
- 10:05I don't know if that's how I responded.
- 10:07I feel like go back and. Listen back to it.
- 10:09Baby, I feel like you're slamming.
- 10:11Someone in the comments, did he or did he not say just don't
- 10:15have this problem forehead at some point in that video?
- 10:17If not, I'll eat my words. But if he did, I don't.
- 10:22I don't feel like I I don't. Feel like that's how I
- 10:25responded. I may have responded slightly
- 10:28dismissively to the exact problem in your campaign at the
- 10:32moment, but like the problem in general, I don't feel like, so
- 10:36that I don't feel like I would respond that way.
- 10:42I, I suppose I could be wrong, maybe I did, I don't know.
- 10:44Anyway, that's not really the point.
- 10:46Point being, I didn't realize I was rehashing something from not
- 10:49that long ago. And, you know, we may still come
- 10:51back to it in some capacity if I, you know, something comes to
- 10:56me. But instead, it's time for a
- 10:59little sloppy topic. Why don't you?
- 11:03Say it like. I said.
- 11:04I said what I said. Also, you got to, you got to
- 11:06really, if you're going to do the sloppy, you got to commit to
- 11:08sloppy. You got to.
- 11:09You got to do it. What?
- 11:11What do you mean you? Got to do the, you got to do the
- 11:13thing. Do what thing?
- 11:16Sloppy thing? I don't know what you're
- 11:19referring to. 14th. Do bastard.
- 11:23What? Fucking what's his nuts the the
- 11:27Crystal Braves guy send? Oh Schlopper.
- 11:32Yeah, what the fuck is his name? The Griffin.
- 11:36Yeah, what's his actual name is? It's like Bertrand or.
- 11:39Something or like Gilbert. Ilbert.
- 11:41Yeah, fucking stupid ass name. In him with the Schlopper, yeah.
- 11:47Rope fucking hate that guy anyway.
- 11:54Yes, yes, we're doing the schloppy and also we haven't
- 11:59done this before so this is a fun one to fuck around with.
- 12:02You ever want to talk about a character where it's like, I'm
- 12:04literally 2 seconds from blowing you the fuck up and then you
- 12:07don't get to and you're like, this guy's not that cool, I can
- 12:10fuck this dude up. I beat Zenos in a fight, I swear
- 12:13to God let me kill him. All right, well, two things.
- 12:16One, you haven't beaten. You haven't even seen Zenos at
- 12:19that point in the game. You you killed Ilberg.
- 12:22You killed Ilbert before. Yes, Ilbert dies way before
- 12:28Zenos even appears because that whole arc is leading into into
- 12:33Storm Blood. Oh right.
- 12:36Either way you beat fucking Gaius, you beat Ultima.
- 12:38At that point you beat fucking Laha Brand like.
- 12:42Debatable on Gaius. You beat him, you didn't like,
- 12:46you didn't kill him, but you beat him.
- 12:47You beat him in a fight. That's.
- 12:48Pretty what does any of that have to do with Ilbert diagram?
- 12:51You do get to kill him. You beat him.
- 12:53Yeah but he gets to talk a lot of shit for like 1/2 an
- 12:56expansion before you kill his ass.
- 12:58'Cause you don't know he's evil at first, yeah.
- 12:59And. Then he does the evil thing and
- 13:02then, you know, the whole thing ends when fucking round one.
- 13:04Yeah, I gotta wait half an expansion to put his ass in the
- 13:08ground. Yeah, 'cause he ran away.
- 13:11Talking all that shit I don't. Understand what the complaint
- 13:14is. There's no actual complaint.
- 13:17It's just funny. He's one of those characters
- 13:18where you're like, oh, when I get you, Oh, when I get my hands
- 13:21on you. Sure, fair enough.
- 13:25I'm basically saying he talks a whole lot of shit for somebody
- 13:27in Warrior of Light distance. Yeah, I mean, he's definitely
- 13:30not, not particularly tough or anything like that, that's for
- 13:33sure. Before we get on to the Schloppy
- 13:36though, follow or subscribe on your podcast platform of choice
- 13:41if you would like some more disgusting sloppy pea soup fed
- 13:44into your mouth directly. Why do you say these things in
- 13:51this order? Why do you use your voice to
- 13:53make these sounds? Because it's funny, and because
- 13:57I can. I have free will.
- 14:00I Oh God. What more do I need?
- 14:05Fair enough. And that's why you follow or
- 14:07subscribe. Anyway, let's do this.
- 14:08Let's start. So I'm gonna, I'm gonna read
- 14:12the, the, the first one that I came across when I happened to
- 14:15be looking around because I feel like it's a good opener because
- 14:18it's just a, it's just an up and down of just, I don't know,
- 14:24nonsense, I guess. I mean, I feel a little bad for
- 14:26the guy, but yeah, it's, it's also a long one.
- 14:29That's yeah, that's the other reason.
- 14:30So we're, we're starting with something saucy and girthy and
- 14:33meaty, you know? Yep, a concept warning for
- 14:37addiction apparently. Yeah, sort of kind on this one.
- 14:45Yeah, sure. All right.
- 14:49All right. Yeah.
- 14:50Also, these are our PG horror stories.
- 14:52So like, you know, they they might get a little much.
- 14:56Yeah, I don't. I don't think any of them were
- 14:59too bad. There's one.
- 15:01There's one that brother is genuinely like yo doggy, but the
- 15:07other ones I don't think are too bad.
- 15:09Yeah. Yeah, anyway, so this one's just
- 15:15titled. What else was I supposed to do?
- 15:17Which is just like a what? A what?
- 15:19A title. So, oh, I clicked off on it.
- 15:25All right, so OP says here. By the way, OP stands for
- 15:33original poster for some reason you don't know that.
- 15:37And it just means the person who made the post for the thing.
- 15:41I hate saying OPI think it's a stupid phrase.
- 15:43I hate I hate it as an acronym. But it's what we got anyway.
- 15:49So they say. I played DND with a group of
- 15:53friends for a good few years, good few years now, ever since
- 15:562021. They posted this like a week
- 15:59ago. So five year, five years ago, or
- 16:04four or five years at least. Our recent campaign, which just
- 16:07ended heading into a new one, Yippee had a problem player who
- 16:12at one point used to be a good friend of the group, but for the
- 16:14sake it's used to be a good friend for the friend of.
- 16:18The group period. I added words in there for the
- 16:22sake of simplicity. Will refer to him as Vera or
- 16:25Vera I guess. Vera, short for his character's
- 16:28name Veritor, which it's not a bad name, I don't hate it.
- 16:35It does go a little hard. For a bit of a history on Vera
- 16:40up to this point, he is a friend of the DMS and one that our
- 16:44group got along with for a long time.
- 16:47Knew him for about two years, question mark give or take.
- 16:50He's a pretty mellow guy, usually smokes a lot, but had a
- 16:55had a pan of interests that were a bit weird, but we'll get to
- 16:58that pan. I don't know what they meant by
- 17:00pan there. I mean, I I get that they meant
- 17:04like a bunch of entities. Yeah, a a bunch.
- 17:08A group also smokes a lot. Seems like kind of an
- 17:11understatement as this one goes on.
- 17:14Oh, no. Throughout throughout the
- 17:16campaign, we were following the main quest line involving an
- 17:20undead legion led by an undying king named Theodore.
- 17:24Theodore's right hand man, a lich whose half of his face
- 17:27remains not decayed, is a character that has been haunting
- 17:30the party for quite a bit at this time.
- 17:32Vera's character had tied to ties to this undead legion,
- 17:37which is exciting, which is exciting to see a character's
- 17:40back story be tied into. To explain how this came to be,
- 17:46Vera has been getting voices that urge him to open
- 17:49sacrificial portals to land to the land of Undeath, Theodore's
- 17:53region. Out of character.
- 17:55He's been having quite a bit of fun doing this early on.
- 17:57This is pretty much everything you need to know about Vera and
- 17:59his character up to this point. Fast towards in the middle of
- 18:02the campaign, Vera begins being very uncooperative not only at
- 18:08the table, but outside of the table.
- 18:09First off, getting him online to play D&D since we play on
- 18:13Foundry was like a flip of the coin.
- 18:15Sometimes he would hop on, other times he would either not hop on
- 18:18at all without a word or leave the leave the group to go get
- 18:22Burger King for an hour right when D&D was supposed to start.
- 18:27Or, or at times even go out smoking weed for like 2 hours in
- 18:31the middle of the session and come back not knowing what's
- 18:34going on. Which is kind of doubly funny
- 18:37because 1, he doesn't know what's going on because the
- 18:39weed's probably frying the neurons a little bit, and two,
- 18:41he was just gone for two hours. Bro I this reminds me, Oh my
- 18:47God, I'm a small tangent. This reminds me when I played at
- 18:50my first ever campaign, the notorious campaign, and there
- 18:54was one time where one of our players asked her came on and he
- 19:00was we were like about to start session and he kind of was the
- 19:04reason why we hadn't started on time because he was driving to
- 19:07Chick-fil-A. He minded us.
- 19:09Back in 2018, he was driving to Chick-fil-A to get the new
- 19:13chicken sandwich or the Popeyes to get the new Popeye's chicken
- 19:16sandwich. And it was such an ordeal that
- 19:19he came into the chat maulding and he was like, I went out.
- 19:24I've been stuck in traffic this line long as hell.
- 19:26People got into a fight. I ate the sandwich.
- 19:28It was OK. I ate the sandwich.
- 19:35It was OK. He's.
- 19:36Like I didn't get the spicy one, that was my first mistake.
- 19:41He spoke for like 5 minutes on end in that cadence and tone.
- 19:45Just so much angrier. I just really like, I got the
- 19:51sandwich, it was OK. Yeah, literally.
- 19:53He's like, I got the sandwich. It was OK.
- 19:55I didn't get the spicy one. That was my first mistake.
- 19:59I like that he had to throw that in there in case you were
- 20:01curious about the sandwich. Yeah, it was magic.
- 20:09So returning second off for the in game portion, he at times
- 20:15would carry over his frustration from out of game stuff into the
- 20:19table tops experience. For example, we were trying to
- 20:24say of course. That that's the worst shit.
- 20:26Oh yeah, for example, we were trying to fight through a walled
- 20:30off border to an ice Kingdom of some sort.
- 20:33He began getting very aggressive with everyone else and the DM in
- 20:36that moment for the entirety of the encounter, but when we asked
- 20:40him why, his response was I shit you not.
- 20:43I'm tired at losing it. I'm tired of losing at League of
- 20:46Legends. As as he was begrudgingly
- 20:51fighting siege siege golems. We kind of didn't know what to
- 20:54say about that, so we moved on. I.
- 20:59That was my first. That was the first line that got
- 21:02me. I was like, oh nice.
- 21:05I'm just so salty at league. I hate this so much.
- 21:08Yeah, I'm so salty at League that I'm bitching at my D&D
- 21:12group is like a wild. Like obviously it's more than
- 21:17just the league problem, but just to go from A to B, it's
- 21:21like OK dude, it's. Like, all right, brother, have
- 21:24you ever talked about that time that Ant was an hour late to my
- 21:26campaign because he was playing league?
- 21:29No, but I'm also not that shocked.
- 21:31Yeah, that happened. I'll never forget that Ant, you
- 21:34bitch. But he if if you were an hour
- 21:38late, he must have started like started the game like 10 minutes
- 21:43before. Yep.
- 21:46Cause 'cause like a league game's like 45 minutes ish.
- 21:49Well, that league's a little shorter.
- 21:50It'd be like 30 minutes, but still.
- 21:54So he had to hit start. Like if you were starting at 8,
- 21:56he hit the start button at like 750.
- 21:59Oh fuck. OK.
- 22:03Sorry, I didn't mean to segue again.
- 22:06That's, listen, that's part of the point of this, is to segue
- 22:08into stupid shit. That's part of the objective
- 22:11here. That's what we're getting at
- 22:13throughout the rest of the story surrounding this point in time.
- 22:16He would start taking the whole madness plot of his character
- 22:19with ties to the undead powers and went in very random
- 22:23directions with it. He would try to kill off his own
- 22:26character by voluntarily looking into Medusa's eyes when it was
- 22:29for a funeral ceremony, which is like what?
- 22:33Tried sabotaging our party to rather annoying extents such as
- 22:36stealing quest items from the party and getting us into
- 22:39trouble by, you know, murdering civilians.
- 22:45Always. It always comes back to the
- 22:48murders. Always the problem.
- 22:51Players want to kill random civilians dude, it's just that.
- 22:56So you know what? I'm just going to start doing
- 22:57terrorism. That's surely that'll go great.
- 22:59So many of these dudes need to just play prototype.
- 23:04Yeah. Or.
- 23:07Infamous. Or infamous, GTA, any of those
- 23:11open world games where you could just be heinous.
- 23:16I understand that his character being semi.
- 23:19I understand his character is being semi possessed in the
- 23:22story but this was something that happened all the time.
- 23:26Not even the DM suggestion for his characters at this point.
- 23:28To me it screams it's what my character would do scenario.
- 23:31But I don't know. I mean yeah it's absolutely that
- 23:35out of game was even more of a mess that may have trickled into
- 23:40his playing of DND. This is this is where the this
- 23:43is where the fun begins. He began getting more frustrated
- 23:47with everyone in our group. Now, at the beginning of his
- 23:49depressive episodes, we all collectively talked to him as a
- 23:53group, seeing that he needs help.
- 23:54The first talk pretty much involved him lamenting his past
- 23:56instances with people during high school, which although he
- 24:00is like 25 at the time, we still tried to console him, which
- 24:06worked for two days. Yeah.
- 24:11Look, brother, I've had, I've had the, the, the fucking two
- 24:15AMI get real hard. I get it I guess been seven
- 24:20years you. Need to get the fuck over.
- 24:22Yeah. I mean, yeah, yeah.
- 24:25Listen, it cannot be the actual start of your real life villain
- 24:28back story. This isn't Marvel Comics.
- 24:30Please, that's kind of seems like where this goes a little
- 24:33bit, Not a lot. He he, he came back day after
- 24:37day needing to be talked about. What's on his mind for that day?
- 24:41We try helping him the best we could by giving him advice,
- 24:44giving him ideas as to what we should do to help mitigate these
- 24:47constant downward spirals. To introduce you to some of my
- 24:52friends who I refer to as their character names, we got Guar and
- 24:55Spring. Spring tried giving him
- 24:57relationship vice since Vera is very.
- 25:01I'm not going to sugarcoat it. Delusional.
- 25:05Not the I'm not. That was not me adding it by the
- 25:10way. That's.
- 25:11What he that is literally tired here out here with the he's
- 25:14hashtag? He said.
- 25:16I'm not going to sugar coat it. Delusional.
- 25:25Yeah, yeah, it gets better from here.
- 25:30Vera has this belief that he will only better himself and his
- 25:34lifestyle if a girl he meets truly loves him while he's at
- 25:38his worst. Which, like, that's not even I
- 25:43see. When I first read this and I saw
- 25:45the delusional bit, I was like, ah, he's gonna go down some red
- 25:49pill pipeline that's not even really like a red pill thing.
- 25:52That just doesn't make any sense.
- 25:54Yeah, it's, it's kind of going closer to the in cell.
- 25:58It's not even like standard like but but I feel like the in cells
- 26:02are like, oh, a woman should just love me as is and deal with
- 26:06it. This guy's saying like no, no, I
- 26:07need to be actively at my worst and then she will make.
- 26:11Better as hard as possible and she will remake me like a
- 26:15phoenix. I will be reborn into my best
- 26:18self. She.
- 26:20Will save me from the darkness brother.
- 26:24As I said. Like it's not even.
- 26:25I was really expecting some red pill shit but I don't even know
- 26:28what to call that maneuver. I yeah, I don't know.
- 26:33All right, here comes some more fun ones to bring more emphasis
- 26:36to his lifestyle and his weird interests, quote UN quote.
- 26:40I mentioned earlier this man is horrifically addicted to weed,
- 26:44alcohol, and more importantly, adult content of the depraved
- 26:48variety. What kinds?
- 26:51Question mark? Whatever exists I guess.
- 26:53In fact, he has openly admitted this.
- 26:57This is this one's unhinged as fuck.
- 27:00He has openly admitted he cannot play Skyrim without a copious
- 27:03amount. A copious amount of 18 plus
- 27:06mods, if that stands as an example of anything.
- 27:13Which like, copious isn't a number.
- 27:16But when you're talking mods, if you're using the word copious, I
- 27:20feel like we got to be talking. About the hundreds and the I, I
- 27:22would say dozens, yeah, I. Dozen double digits to triple
- 27:26digits. Like you got to be over.
- 27:28We're like over 20 if we're using the word copious I feel
- 27:31like at least. Yeah.
- 27:33So I'm like oh boy. Also what kind of 18 plus mod?
- 27:36Because like there's 18 plus mods that just have full on
- 27:40fucking mini games in Skyrim. So like how insane are we
- 27:44getting here? This level of 18 plus stuff
- 27:50usage has absolutely destroyed his mind and outlook on life as
- 27:53a whole. It was a daily activity for him
- 27:58daily. Anyway.
- 28:00Spring gave him advice that he will have better luck finding
- 28:02someone if he works on himself. Such as, you know, moving away
- 28:06from the adult content he's been binging for years.
- 28:09Binging is also a strong word. He refused pretty vocally about
- 28:13it and for what reason I do not remember.
- 28:16Probably because it was a dumb reason.
- 28:18Whenever he tried. Whenever we tried giving him
- 28:20other suggestions, coping mechanisms, requesting for
- 28:23possible medication, he would openly refuse them.
- 28:27At this point there is only so much we can do.
- 28:29Since at this point in time this has been ongoing for two weeks,
- 28:33we advised that we should. Also, two weeks is not even that
- 28:36long. Like this is so much shit in two
- 28:38weeks. Yeah, this is just the like
- 28:41Series of Unfortunate Events. Bro is speed running the the the
- 28:45fuck ups like I don't even we. Advise 1 Stand up bit where he's
- 28:49like and then it got worse. Then it got worse.
- 28:55We advise that he should seek a counselor or a therapist.
- 28:58Guare even further advised on the therapy thing, saying that
- 29:03so far we haven't been able to meaningfully help him, so a
- 29:05professional would be a better idea.
- 29:08Vera confirmed that he wants attention.
- 29:11Not like for a funny joke, but he thinks getting attention for
- 29:14his constant emotional distress will help fill the void or
- 29:17something. It's just like Yikes.
- 29:27As much as being consoled eases the mind, this is to a point
- 29:32where to where it was constant and stagnant.
- 29:35He wasn't taking advice and it and anytime we spend hours to
- 29:38help him feel better he's back to the same state when he he was
- 29:42in and he was in the next day. Some days he'd even get
- 29:46unreasonably angry at people over games as well, especially
- 29:49league. Rush should probably stop
- 29:51playing league. Yeah, I look, I have opinions on
- 29:55league, but I do know and this this is pretty unrefutable that
- 29:58it does boil people's blood pretty easily so.
- 30:01I mean, I, I, I do want to point out that I don't, I am, I, I do
- 30:05not believe that League boils people's blood any more than any
- 30:08other competitive game. I simply think everybody hears
- 30:11about League purely on the basis of it's one of the most popular
- 30:15ones. It's the most popular MOBA for
- 30:17sure. So I don't actually think League
- 30:20is any worse than I have been called heinous things in League,
- 30:24in Overwatch, in Dota 2, in World of Warcraft, in 14,
- 30:29they're all the same. League just gets extra news
- 30:35attention because it's one of the big boys.
- 30:37It's the big boy, basically. It used to be Call of Duty
- 30:43lobbies, you know, like I don't think League is actually
- 30:46anything special in terms of the rage bait.
- 30:49No, no, here's the thing. Here's the thing that you're
- 30:51missing League, I feel like, and I've not played League, but it's
- 30:54I. Was going to say you're about to
- 30:55say some shit from. No league is it feels like is
- 30:59the last bastion of the Call of Duty lobbies.
- 31:08Maybe a little sort of kinda, I don't know, like Overwatch has a
- 31:11lot of that too. I'm sure Marvel, I'm sure Rivals
- 31:15is getting there. Well, no, you can't.
- 31:18My Rivals is well, you can get toxic people, but the the sheer
- 31:22level of things that people will call you Marvel's is pretty
- 31:26heavily moderated. Rivals is, but so is League too.
- 31:33That's the thing. League isn't unmoderated.
- 31:35That's like a thing that League used to be, not very heavily
- 31:38moderated, like years and years and years ago 'cause they were
- 31:41such a small studio, but like, League is just as heavily
- 31:44moderated as anything else these days.
- 31:47That's just like a thing people say 'cause I don't know, they're
- 31:50stupid. I don't know.
- 31:52Fair enough. Anyway, back to the D&D side of
- 31:55things, 'cause, you know, we drifted from D&D.
- 31:59The DM ultimately decided to talk to Vera about potentially
- 32:03leaving the campaign since Vera would join.
- 32:06Since Vera would join for like 10 minutes, then leave the rest
- 32:10of the session to hang out with his friends IRL and smoke in the
- 32:13garage, which were these other like, clowns this man is hanging
- 32:18out with. We assumed he simply didn't want
- 32:23to play D&D at this point due to his constant absence.
- 32:25Which, like, Yeah, very like, completely fair assumption.
- 32:30Apparently they should not have assumed that it would make more
- 32:34sense to reserve a slot for someone who wants to play D&D.
- 32:38When Vera was confronted about it, strangely enough, he went.
- 32:41That's all right, I get it. I've been a bit busy.
- 32:44Much. I'll sit out.
- 32:45Which isn't doesn't sound like it's true.
- 32:49Unless you count just smoking in the garage is busy.
- 32:51I guess we thought we thought that cool.
- 32:56Everything worked out on that front.
- 32:59Oh, we were wrong. Not even a day later he began
- 33:04screaming to the other people in our discord server that they
- 33:07kicked me out of the party. We even told him that it was his
- 33:10choice to leave. We were not forcing him, the
- 33:13option was his, he said. But the DM told me if I wasn't
- 33:16enjoying it, I should leave. That means you guys want me to
- 33:19leave? The team quickly told him no.
- 33:22I told you if you're not willing to participate in the D&D, you
- 33:26can leave if you want. You said you were busy and
- 33:28didn't have a problem with it, so why now?
- 33:30Vera said. I didn't want to leave.
- 33:32I was testing you guys. Bro, ain't no way.
- 33:35I was testing you guys. I I didn't want to leave.
- 33:39I was just saying that I would leave hoping that you would come
- 33:44crawling back and beg me not to leave because I was your friend.
- 33:48Yep, Yep, actually fuck off. It's the, it's the crazy
- 33:52girlfriend who, like, you know, says the crazy shit to, you
- 33:56know, I wanted you to fight for me or whatever, or like, goes
- 34:01out and, like, cheats specifically so her man won't
- 34:04get in the fight with the guy that she cheated with, you know,
- 34:06like that. Yeah, yeah.
- 34:08You weren't giving me the attention I needed, OK?
- 34:13Naturally we were about done with this and later that night
- 34:16he left the server out of rage. An hour later after that he
- 34:21began sending messages to all of us for an invite back.
- 34:25Guare Spring and the DM decided not to send an invite back
- 34:29because we were exhausted at this constant repeat of events.
- 34:32They were willing to then send an invite once he has cooled
- 34:35down on his own behalf, which didn't end up coming to pass.
- 34:37I tried helping him myself meet people across the discord who
- 34:41play similar games as he does, such as League so he doesn't
- 34:43feel like he's so he doesn't feel left out of playing
- 34:46anything since sometimes we branch out into other servers.
- 34:50But he was still very bitter and focused on my other friends.
- 34:53Even still, I don't know if I didn't have to try and help him,
- 34:56or if my friends didn't have to help him, or if the DM letting
- 34:59Vera know he can leave if he wasn't willing to participate in
- 35:03D&D was a good idea for that point in time at least.
- 35:06I felt like it was falling on deaf ears.
- 35:08There wasn't much left we could do.
- 35:11Let me know what y'all think. Yeah, so bro crashed out hard
- 35:22and then wanted everyone to fight for him to come crawling
- 35:27back. And I don't even, I can't even
- 35:31really understand a lot like the idea of being like, no, I do
- 35:37want to play, but also I'm going to go smoke all the time and
- 35:40also I'm going to be like angry all the time.
- 35:42Like I just don't. The back and forth is unhinged.
- 35:46Yeah, well, so I mean, here's the thing.
- 35:47You got to, you got to take this thing apart piece by piece.
- 35:50This guy does not like this guy's problem is not that he
- 35:55smokes, drinks and beats his Dick too much.
- 35:57That is not what is going on here.
- 35:58That dude is deeply. Clinically depressed.
- 36:01And those are the three big coping mechanisms that he's
- 36:03using. Yeah.
- 36:05Yeah. So, you know, telling him, you
- 36:09know, stop doing XY and Z, you're not actually solving the
- 36:12problem. You have to go deeper than that.
- 36:13And yes, motherfucker, you absolutely need professional
- 36:16help. I mean, yeah, for sure.
- 36:18I. Had several people that I've
- 36:20played with who are just fucking like this and there's nothing
- 36:23you can do for somebody who doesn't want help.
- 36:26Nothing you can do. No, especially.
- 36:27If someone wants to be coddled. Yeah, I mean, if you're
- 36:31specifically saying I want attention, yeah.
- 36:33I mean, yeah. I, I also feel like the, you
- 36:42know, OP originally, you know, the title of the of this post is
- 36:46what else was I supposed to do? And like, yeah, nothing else.
- 36:49You, you can't. This is beyond your, your, your
- 36:52scope as a random person who you're who you're playing D&D
- 36:55like. You couldn't.
- 36:56There's no other steps you could have taken here, I think.
- 37:00The the only real thing that I could have offered that I could
- 37:04offer you in hindsight is like maybe call a professional for
- 37:09him. You know, just be like, hey, I
- 37:11think this person is unwell and maybe needs a check up.
- 37:15Yeah, I don't know how that works.
- 37:18But yeah, also there is a little bit of a little bit of a gas
- 37:25lighting thing going on there with Mr. Vera, like a couple of
- 37:29things where you're like, huh. Oh yeah, the gas light was deep.
- 37:33That's not good either. But yeah, that, that that's our
- 37:38opener. Yeah, that one I thought was
- 37:46interesting because there was a, there was a few layers to it, if
- 37:50you will. Yeah, yeah.
- 37:53It just seems like so dudes with like it's crazy how one not
- 37:59simple issue but one direct issue spirals is completely out
- 38:02of control. Yeah, go ahead.
- 38:08No, it just deeply ingrained depression transfers into
- 38:12potential substance abuse issues.
- 38:14Definitely chemical dependencies.
- 38:16I don't know, absolutely malding in league and then.
- 38:20Turning into a. Borderline schizo in your game
- 38:23like I don't. It's a lot.
- 38:25It's a, it's a lot of things there.
- 38:29Here. We'll, we'll, we'll do a, a much
- 38:30shorter, a little bit of a palate cleanser run after that
- 38:33one though, 'cause I just thought this was kind of funny.
- 38:36AI thought it was funny, but B, there is one little tidbit in
- 38:40here that I was like, that's a little concerning you.
- 38:42Want me to take care of this one because you just did a long one.
- 38:45No, no, this is a really short 1.
- 38:49This one is. Am I an RPG Horror Story player?
- 38:52The person's. Asking.
- 38:55You're gonna laugh. So to just come out with it, I'm
- 38:59a cigarette smoker. Every few hours into a session,
- 39:02I excuse, I excuse myself to smoke a cigarette.
- 39:05I always make sure that it's not an RP heavy moment or doing any
- 39:08sort of combat. I pay attention during
- 39:10everybody's turn. I take notes during the game,
- 39:12but I do take 3 to 5 minutes every few hours to go outside
- 39:15and smoke and be alone. Would this annoy you as a player
- 39:19or Adm? And like my immediate response
- 39:21is like, no, that's definitely not that big of a deal.
- 39:24I've dealt. I've actually had a player who
- 39:26did that in my game at like, it's fine.
- 39:30You just spend the 5 minutes and then get back to it, you know?
- 39:33Yeah, I mean like. It's.
- 39:35If you, if you make it sort of like a, a, a tradition, like a
- 39:38you know, oh, OK guys, you know, it's worth 2 1/2 hours in.
- 39:41Take a 5 minute. Break we're at the break time
- 39:43yeah yeah, yeah. So like in that regard I yeah I
- 39:47was just like lol OK so I just thought it was kind of funny
- 39:50that this person's even asking because like hilariously
- 39:53innocuous thing. But the little little follow up
- 40:00ETAI showed my partner this post and he has concluded that I am
- 40:06in fact an RPG Horror Story. I have condensed his points
- 40:10below. Smoking is bad and gross.
- 40:14This is a constant and not sarcastic.
- 40:18I am not that engrossed for smoking once or twice during A5
- 40:21plus hour session, but I am in fact the worst because when I
- 40:24leave I don't get to hear everyone's awesome theories.
- 40:28Cigarette smoke is worse than weed smoke in an enclosed space.
- 40:33I do agree with this even though as a smoker I have not been
- 40:36especially offended by heavy weed.
- 40:37But some of my fellow chimney smoking brothers and sisters
- 40:41smell like David Chain smoking packs in the closet for days on
- 40:43it. So the initial post I was like
- 40:49Nah bro you're fine. And then the I asked my partner
- 40:52and they have considered I am in fact an RPG Horror Story.
- 40:55I was like, wait, what? Yeah, that.
- 40:58That seems like what? Yeah, I don't know, Like, I
- 41:05don't know if they're your partner, they have every right
- 41:07to be like, look, I don't like that you spoke and whether or
- 41:10not you do something about that's kind of up to you.
- 41:11But being like yes you are actually the worst kind of
- 41:15player because you don't get to sit in on everyone's head
- 41:19cannons like. Yeah, what I saw that I was
- 41:22like, what are you? Smoking.
- 41:25Also smoking is bad and gross. This is a constant and not
- 41:29sarcastic. I mean, if your partner is
- 41:36saying that to you all the time, there might be some other
- 41:40baggage here. Like I feel like we've unlocked
- 41:43some secret baggage that this person didn't know they were
- 41:45giving up. Yeah, I mean, look, I don't know
- 41:48if you you started dating a smoker expect smoking.
- 41:51I don't know you. Expect smoking.
- 41:52Yeah, right. Like expect smoking.
- 41:53Like, what the fuck? Like you, you're going to tell
- 41:57me that you went on several dates with this person and
- 42:00didn't know they were a smoker like that?
- 42:02There's just no way. It's just impossible.
- 42:05You know, like. But I see you.
- 42:08You misunderstand Josh. I can change them once I trap
- 42:11their ass is typically the methodology.
- 42:15Yeah, I just somehow don't think so.
- 42:20I just don't think so. No, but.
- 42:23Look, I'm not here to tell someone that their idea is
- 42:25fucking idiotic. I am just here to state the fact
- 42:27that it's. Yeah, yeah, I just like I'm
- 42:29imagining like even on a on a fucking first date, you go to a
- 42:38restaurant or some shit, good chance that person says, hey,
- 42:41I'm going to step out for a smoke.
- 42:43You know, like that's really common.
- 42:45So I feel like we what's going on here where you're trapped
- 42:50homeboy down, you're like, Smokey's fucking gross.
- 42:52You're like, OK, well, you knew that.
- 42:53You knew he was smoking. So or they were smoking.
- 42:58Can you imagine a situation where someone's like?
- 43:01This is. Really holding on.
- 43:02They're just holding off on smoking until it's like a year
- 43:05in and then they're like I unleash MY2 chaos and start
- 43:09pounding like a pack a day. Just chain smoking them like an
- 43:13animal. Yeah.
- 43:15Yeah. I mean, I just, the thing about
- 43:19this one, I this isn't even really about the like RPG Horror
- 43:22Story. I just thought it was really
- 43:23interesting that I read the first half and I was like, this
- 43:26is a weird, innocuous post. And the second-half, I was like,
- 43:29oh, there's some baggage there that.
- 43:30You're not. Oh this guy was toxic.
- 43:33Yeah, wait a minute. Whoa.
- 43:34We got a little toxic on the back half.
- 43:36Like what's going on there, bud? Oh, Oh no.
- 43:41I, I really and I and no one in the comments said anything about
- 43:44it, which really had me confused.
- 43:47Really did no one say anything about it?
- 43:49Hold on, as far as I could see everyone else in the in the
- 43:55everyone else commenting was only responding to the first
- 43:58half where the person was asking like am I an RPG horror
- 44:01basically answering the question yes or no?
- 44:04I don't see anyone responding to the weird backhanded comment
- 44:09about the person that they're dating.
- 44:13You know what I mean? Maybe it was an edit like maybe
- 44:15that that second part came after everybody commented.
- 44:18Maybe, I don't know, but I thought that was really odd that
- 44:21nobody said anything about that part.
- 44:26Yeah, what the fuck now? Yeah, I'm looking through it
- 44:28now. No one made a point to talk
- 44:29about that. Right, right.
- 44:31That's all. I was like, I was like, what's
- 44:33going on here? Am I seeing something secret?
- 44:37What the fuck? Yeah, there was also a lot of
- 44:42people that were basically like, get the fuck out of my house,
- 44:44which I mean. Bro hit someone hit him with.
- 44:49If it's at an IR table you're banned.
- 44:51Smoking is disgusting. Yeah.
- 44:53Which what? Yeah, that feels like I.
- 44:56Feel like vehemently despises tobacco smoking.
- 45:02Hate it. Grew up in a family full of
- 45:04smokers. As long as I don't smell this
- 45:07shit, you're good. There are ways to smoke without
- 45:10smelling like a fucking wet pack of cigarettes.
- 45:12I mean, you're going to smell it a little bit when they come back
- 45:14in and stuff. But yeah, there's there's
- 45:17there's definitely a like a margin of error.
- 45:22There's some leeway between absolutely not and yeah,
- 45:24whatever. I don't care.
- 45:25You know, I mean, look, if if you're exhaling into your shirt
- 45:29and like, or yeah, if you're sitting at the table and puffing
- 45:32it straight in the D Ms. face, like, all right, different
- 45:35conversation. But yeah, I just, I just really,
- 45:41I just really, I just really want to message this person and
- 45:45be like, hey, bud. So about the second-half of your
- 45:47post about your partner. What's?
- 45:49Going on there dawg, your. Partner's a little toxic, I
- 45:53like. I have some questions 'cause you
- 45:55kind of hinted at something. Yeah, yeah.
- 45:58Oh my God. Anyway, I just I showed this to
- 46:02my partner and he has concluded I am in fact an RPG Horror
- 46:06Story. He's a crazy statement.
- 46:08I'd be kind of mad. If my partner's right, I would
- 46:11be. Mad I'd be like, dude, I'd be.
- 46:14So tight, like be mad if if, if I was like going full murder
- 46:19hobo to what my character would do, like the worst kind of
- 46:22Horror Story, Yeah, I could see that.
- 46:23But someone being like, you're actually a red flag because you
- 46:26smoke cigarettes. Yeah.
- 46:29I. Fuck you bro.
- 46:30I'd be pissed. That's what I'm saying.
- 46:32That's what I'm saying. I'd be pissed.
- 46:35That was my whole thing. I was like, huh?
- 46:37All right, all right, let's see. I I I'm gonna, I'm gonna see if
- 46:44I so what's the one I want? That's a good one.
- 46:47I might want you to read. I I won't make you read the
- 46:53really heavy one. I brother, it's staring at me.
- 46:59Well, I don't know. Do you know which one?
- 47:00I'm tired. 56788 to me is the one that feels really heavy.
- 47:09Oh, no, five I think is. Worse. 05 is worse.
- 47:12Oh no, I. Think 5 is worse?
- 47:13You want to read 8. No, I'd rather think hold on.
- 47:17Oh, come on. I almost want to read 5.
- 47:19I just see I. I mean if you want to you.
- 47:24I'll brother it gets. Oh, yeah, I'll do it.
- 47:26Fuck it. OK.
- 47:28Oh, no. All right.
- 47:31Give us the. Title Title My then boyfriend
- 47:36fed my DM my personal trauma for character growth, content
- 47:39warnings, abusive relationship, alcohol abuse, underage
- 47:43drinking, in game, child death, and vomit.
- 47:46Oh my God. Yes.
- 47:47Sir, the regret is beginning to set in very quickly.
- 47:52Yes, Sir. All right, so to preface the
- 47:58actual D&D, my then boyfriend and I had gotten together in
- 48:01high school when I was 16 and he was 19, and we had been together
- 48:05for six years at that point. In high school, that's not that.
- 48:08Like it's on, it's on the edge, you're it's on the edge, it's on
- 48:11the edge and. It's on the edge.
- 48:13I hadn't really played D&D since the start of our relationship.
- 48:16It was a part of how we got to know each other.
- 48:18But Locked Down hit while I was in university on the other side
- 48:21of the country and I had a couple of close online friends
- 48:24who wanted to start a campaign, so I had to finish that.
- 48:27OK. Been together six years at this
- 48:30point. So we're jumping to 22 and 25
- 48:33just for like Adrian context because I think it's kind of
- 48:36relevant here. Fair enough.
- 48:37Yes. So currently 22 and 25 as of.
- 48:41Story We were a small group and played exclusively through video
- 48:46calls using our usual paper, pencil, and physical dice.
- 48:49It was nice to have something to look forward to, and I really
- 48:52enjoyed getting back into D&D after not touching it at all for
- 48:55years. So I'd tell my boyfriend just
- 48:58how much fun I was having. I'd make the hour long walk to
- 49:01campus for my classes once the school opened back up and would
- 49:04fill at that time telling him about all the cool things my
- 49:07friends and I were doing in D&D. He wasn't particularly pleased
- 49:10that I spent so much time talking to other people when I
- 49:13would, and then wouldn't stop talking about it when I called
- 49:16him. And so and so I just stopped
- 49:20telling him and we would walk, talk about other things.
- 49:23Red flag. Yeah, opening red flag.
- 49:28He's mad that I'm talking to other human beings.
- 49:31Yikes. OK, our campaign was pretty
- 49:34basic, our DM pretty forgiving, and since they were my friends
- 49:39and I and I could constantly back and forth with them about
- 49:42character lore and my PCs family members that would be
- 49:45introduced. So back and forth I did.
- 49:48And my character had tons of siblings with whom they had a
- 49:51tense relationship, one that mirrored my own with my younger
- 49:54sister. Big mistake.
- 49:57Jump forward about a year and a half slash 2 years and I'm back
- 50:00home from university for Christmas and New Year's.
- 50:03I'm baby's like. 24 in the situation.
- 50:06About Yeah, I'm babysitting my younger sister, 16, who has
- 50:10slipped out to meet up with a couple of friends.
- 50:14She came back in a state, the kind of state that has you
- 50:17mopping up blood and vomit at 3:00 AM in tears.
- 50:21Jesus. Agonizing over whether or not an
- 50:23ambulance was a good idea. She's fine now, but the whole
- 50:27ordeal was traumatic. There was a lot of blame I laid
- 50:31on myself for not being able to track her down, not knowing who
- 50:34she was with, and not exactly knowing how badly things could
- 50:38have gone under different circumstances.
- 50:42My boyfriend stayed on the phone with me until he fell asleep.
- 50:45I was still emptying buckets of dirty water and trying to get
- 50:48the smell out of wooden floors. Eventually the term time
- 50:52started. Yeah this is, this is wild.
- 50:54I I almost want to hear a story about what the fuck.
- 50:57Happened. What the fuck happened?
- 50:58Right. Yeah, that's kind of nuts.
- 51:01I'm trying to figure out what situation are we mopping up
- 51:04blood and vomit and it's seeping into the wood floor.
- 51:08Like what the fuck did she cause?
- 51:11Like the first half of that you're kind of like, oh, she's
- 51:1416. She probably went and got really
- 51:15hammered, but it seems like it was more than just she got
- 51:18really hammered, you know? What I mean, Yeah, yeah.
- 51:21So I'm kind of like, what the fuck happened?
- 51:24All right, this is this is maybe I don't know, when I was
- 51:27younger, I would, you know, I fell a lot.
- 51:29I got hurt a lot and I never really like people are like talk
- 51:33about like that, that irony smell that it happens when you
- 51:35like get like when there's blood.
- 51:38And not until I was an adult that I could finally smell that
- 51:41smell. And I'm just like.
- 51:42Oh that sucks. What?
- 51:46What do you mean you couldn't smell it?
- 51:48Like I just, I don't know, my body never perceived that irony
- 51:51smell or taste really for that matter, until now that I'm an
- 51:54adult and like. Well, you probably just didn't
- 51:57have a point of reference. Potentially, yeah.
- 52:01But yeah, now that I'm older, I'm just kind of like.
- 52:03Yeah, this sucks. It's definitely a weird smell.
- 52:06Like once you really lock it in it is a weird smell for sure.
- 52:11Yeah, odd mix of salt and burning pennies.
- 52:15Not a good smell burning. Pennies.
- 52:21Not just not exactly how I describe it, but I I know what
- 52:23you mean, yeah. Eventually the term time started
- 52:27and I went back to classes, back to playing DND, and back to not
- 52:31discussing the campaign with him.
- 52:33And back to not discussing the. Yeah, just and back to.
- 52:36Sweeping this shit under the rug.
- 52:38And back to just not bringing that shit up ever again.
- 52:41Around this time our DM introduced us to a new city with
- 52:45a plague outbreak, and at the city gates we were informed that
- 52:48my P CS younger brother had travelled through the city ahead
- 52:51of us, but hadn't left yet. Said brother had been made the
- 52:55closest one to one of my own sister in age and behavior.
- 52:59The city itself took us maybe four or five sessions to
- 53:02complete, this kid brother being dangled as a carrot on a stick
- 53:05to keep the party moving. When we eventually reached the
- 53:08final gauntlet, it was revealed that he was there the whole
- 53:12time, being tortured in the castle while we searched and
- 53:16solved puzzles before being infected with vampirism and left
- 53:20as a feral monster in a cage. Nothing could be done.
- 53:24He was essentially dead before we had arrived, and it was cruel
- 53:27and senselessly mean spirited when compared to the rest of the
- 53:29campaign. I don't if if this is going
- 53:34where I think it's going. Oh baby.
- 53:37I really don't like the implications of what are going
- 53:40on with this brother fam. I'm not vibing.
- 53:45The fucking vibes are rancid. The.
- 53:49The vibes have gone decrepit. Yeah.
- 53:52Truly rigor mortis. I was devastated at this point.
- 53:57I hadn't completely worked through what had happened a
- 53:59couple weeks prior and I couldn't understand why I was
- 54:02getting so upset about a character in an RPG that had
- 54:05never really had any development.
- 54:07I felt like I was swallowing rocks.
- 54:10I was wet in the eyes, but we were still in a video call and
- 54:13still had the BBEG of the area to take out.
- 54:16So I sucked it up miserably and onwardly pressed the last.
- 54:20Puzzles are like a haze now. There was something about a
- 54:23severed finger that took me way too long to figure out, and I
- 54:26was kind of useless at that point.
- 54:29But that was what opened the way up to our final fight.
- 54:33Our little party climbed the stairs and as we entered the
- 54:36final room, ping my boyfriend joined the call.
- 54:40He proudly announced that he was going to play the BBEG for this
- 54:44fight. I don't remember remotely
- 54:46anything about it about it, aside from how awful it felt.
- 54:50After the fight. I just kind of stumbled my way
- 54:54through goodbyes and thank yous, left the call and broke down,
- 54:57utterly inconsolable. There was something.
- 55:00So there was just something wrong and disgusting and
- 55:03violating and I couldn't put my finger on it.
- 55:06A text came through and it started to unravel.
- 55:12All right, focus yourself. Focus your fucking chakra.
- 55:17Focus your chakra. BF did you have fun?
- 55:22That one, really. That one really sent me to the
- 55:24next stratosphere. I was.
- 55:26Like this fucking guy. Homicide is on the menu.
- 55:30I. Was like dude.
- 55:31Put his ass in the ground. When I saw that part I was like
- 55:36wow, why this motherfucker is sadistic like.
- 55:40Holy shit. Fucking nuts.
- 55:43He told me either he's. Sadistic.
- 55:46Either he's sadistic or he's so fucking oblivious that he just
- 55:52couldn't register what the fuck was happening, you know what I
- 55:55mean? Like.
- 55:55I'm gonna be real that this kind of reeks of sociopathy like.
- 55:59No, yeah, this reeks of like that eight.
- 56:00Year old disorder. Yeah, yeah, I think that's more
- 56:03likely, but I'm just saying, I guess there is a possibility
- 56:05that he is that fucking clueless, which is crazy.
- 56:08Yeah, no. Well, no.
- 56:10And after no, no, specifically after this line, absolutely no.
- 56:13They're no clueless actual monster, He told me he was
- 56:17speaking to my DM on the sly. I'd gotten in touch with my
- 56:20friend online after feeling envious of how much time I spent
- 56:23talking with them. Feeling frustrated and wanting
- 56:26to be involved without inserting himself into my friend group, he
- 56:30had begun feeding them ideas for the campaign.
- 56:33A fun boss gimmick here, a dungeon map there, until
- 56:36eventually the two of them had crafted the whole plague city
- 56:40and the tortured slash dead brother.
- 56:42I hadn't told my online friends about what had been happening
- 56:45with my sister, and while one of the other players could tell I
- 56:49was off during the session, they had no, oh they had nobody had
- 56:55any basis for why. In some, in some fucked up way,
- 57:00he thought this was a good way for me to work through things
- 57:03with your sister. His words.
- 57:05I had to tell my DM exactly what had happened.
- 57:08It was the first time I'd actually put it into words since
- 57:11the incident, and it was very traumatic.
- 57:13I didn't want to tell them, but the way he'd woven something so
- 57:16traumatic to me into a plot point and fed it to my friend to
- 57:20regurgitate to me was disgusting.
- 57:23It had felt so personal because it was personal.
- 57:26I just didn't realize because it had come from a place I assumed
- 57:29safe and separate and wanting him just showing up to play some
- 57:34grandiose boss at the end with salt in an already festering
- 57:38wound. I'm not with him anymore.
- 57:40Definitely for the better. I don't speak to the DM friend
- 57:44anymore either. They were another issue
- 57:47altogether. I do wonder what the fuck the DM
- 57:51friend because like the the the last chunk there makes it sound
- 57:54like the DM friend just didn't know what was going on so they
- 57:57didn't know it would be a big deal.
- 57:58But that last little sentence makes it seem like maybe they
- 58:01did know what was going on in some capacity.
- 58:05No, to me, what that smells of is.
- 58:07But it was good content, though. Like, that's what that said.
- 58:12Yeah, like, you know, him being like, you know, maybe I imagine
- 58:16OP being like, look, I know you didn't do it on purpose, but I
- 58:19do feel a certain kind of way about it.
- 58:21And I'm kind of upset. And in my head it feels like
- 58:24they were like, well, why are you upset?
- 58:26It was such a good plot point that.
- 58:30Would be, I mean crazy if true. Dog, I'm going to jail.
- 58:38I promise you if someone hit me with either of these scenarios,
- 58:41my ass is going to prison. And then they hit you with.
- 58:48But it was good content though. Bro, what was that video you
- 58:52showed me? It's like.
- 58:52And then Goldilocks made the pasta.
- 58:54Not al dente. Oh yeah, she's going to be real
- 58:57sorry when I bury her in the dirt like the fucking dog that
- 58:59she is. That's me.
- 59:00That's me. Well, you don't have to.
- 59:01No, I don't have to do it, but I want to do it.
- 59:03That's the. Problem.
- 59:03I want to do it, yeah, but I want to do it.
- 59:05That's the problem. I mean, fuck his ass.
- 59:10Yeah, I mean, I just. What?
- 59:18Happened. I need to like when you take the
- 59:24content warning when you do like alcohol abuse under drinking
- 59:30what? I so I like what I can gather is
- 59:36basically her her her sister got to the point of, you know, like
- 59:42severe alcohol poisoning and was throwing up blood maybe is like.
- 59:49Potentially gave himself an ulcer.
- 59:50I could see that, yeah. Something along those lines.
- 59:53That's kind of my first thought but I feel like it's got to be
- 59:57more than that though, because you take the you take the
- 1:00:03brother turned into a feral animal vampire angle and I'm
- 1:00:09like was was the turning him into a weird feral monster in a
- 1:00:12cage like. Was her sister on drugs and
- 1:00:16acting crazy too? You know what I mean?
- 1:00:19Like like. How many parallels were there?
- 1:00:22Between that's what I'm saying, how many?
- 1:00:25Parallels were there between the brother in the game situation,
- 1:00:29right? The fictional brother and the
- 1:00:30real life sister. How parallel was it?
- 1:00:33You know what I'm saying? I'm.
- 1:00:34Gonna be like, I'm gonna be honest, I think you need more
- 1:00:37than a breakup. I think this motherfucker needs
- 1:00:38a restraining. I I mean, maybe, but like,
- 1:00:41'cause my initial because to me I'm thinking like, OK, if the GM
- 1:00:48had this like vampire brother left as a feral cage or left as
- 1:00:53a feral animal in a cage that doesn't that's not so close to
- 1:00:59the initial description of what happened with her sister to be
- 1:01:02that. I mean, there's still some
- 1:01:03awkward parallels, but it's not that bad.
- 1:01:07But if the weird vampire feral vampire thing was a was like a
- 1:01:13not an allegory, but like a metaphor for something else that
- 1:01:18happened to her sister, then you're really pushing it into
- 1:01:21the next level. Yeah.
- 1:01:23Jesus. And like, I don't know, you know
- 1:01:25what I mean? We we don't we don't have those
- 1:01:27details, obviously. And she kept saying her
- 1:01:31relationship with her sister was like, strained.
- 1:01:34But like in what way it? Seems like it it so just given
- 1:01:39how the brother thing worked of like brother just disappeared,
- 1:01:42don't know where he is, came back in a state.
- 1:01:46But you know, if I'm if I'm so bold as to make some
- 1:01:49assumptions, maybe younger sister is party animal that
- 1:01:52cannot be controlled and this is a repeat problem and the problem
- 1:01:55described is the worst instance of the problem.
- 1:01:58Right. Yeah, I I think that's probably
- 1:02:00the case, but I I'm almost wondering if it goes beyond
- 1:02:04that, if there's another element to it.
- 1:02:07Oh, it's such a bad time for a song called Absinthe to come on
- 1:02:10my playlist. It's a really good song, but.
- 1:02:15Fair it up. Yeah.
- 1:02:17So that was that was I think that that's the worst one.
- 1:02:19I grabbed it personally, I think because that one is like, just
- 1:02:25like what? Just there's a lot.
- 1:02:30There's a lot. There's a lot of a lot.
- 1:02:33I mean, yeah, all right. Which one should I hit next
- 1:02:40here? I feel like the last two are.
- 1:02:50I have strong opinions about #7. I shouldn't.
- 1:02:57Why didn't I hold on? Can I actually number these
- 1:02:59right? Now you can, yeah.
- 1:03:02There we go. Yeah, I got stronger pains about
- 1:03:04#7. Oh, well, that one's really
- 1:03:06quick. So I mean, yeah, if you want to
- 1:03:08a. Short 1 Sure, that's a short 1
- 1:03:14title. Why do people keep advertising
- 1:03:17bleakness as realism? Topic or discussion?
- 1:03:24Something that keeps popping up is people advertising their
- 1:03:27story slash tabletop campaign, etcetera as very realistic.
- 1:03:32But what that actually means is that the vast majority of
- 1:03:34characters are jerks and the setting is bleak.
- 1:03:37Once I even had AGM in such a setting who was bothered that
- 1:03:42our characters actually cooperated and didn't try to
- 1:03:45backstab each other for short term gains, claiming that our
- 1:03:49behavior was unrealistic. Of course the world has issues,
- 1:03:53but by far not everything is awful.
- 1:03:55So what's up with that? All right, Isaiah's got on the
- 1:03:58soapbox. Yeah.
- 1:03:59Well, can I just say I just threw this one in.
- 1:04:01I, I threw this one in here. It's not really a story, but I,
- 1:04:03I just, it is kind of an interesting, like thought
- 1:04:08experiment to throw up randomly there.
- 1:04:10Like, yeah, why do people seem to do that a lot?
- 1:04:12It's a valid question. It's.
- 1:04:14Because it's the easy answer. It's OK, I've this is a soapbox.
- 1:04:17I get on so fucking much. There is a stark difference
- 1:04:23between gritty realism, grim darkness and just depressing.
- 1:04:30Very, very, very distinct, different.
- 1:04:33Gritty realism is knowing that like, yeah, maybe your character
- 1:04:38can just die of the flu. That's gritty realism, right?
- 1:04:42You're like, you got, you got to cut, you got infected, roll on a
- 1:04:44table. Now you have, you know, now you
- 1:04:47have fucking tetanus or rabies, or you drank water and now you
- 1:04:52have typhus, right? That's gritty realism.
- 1:04:54Expecting a level of crunch and upkeep because the real world is
- 1:04:58trying to kill you pretty regularly.
- 1:05:02Grim darkness, as in like the grim darkness of the 41st
- 1:05:06Millennium, is not about everything being bad and sucking
- 1:05:10all the time. That's not the fucking point of
- 1:05:13grim darkness. Grim darkness means that at the
- 1:05:16end of the day, victories are pyrrhic.
- 1:05:20You lose a mile to gain an inch. That is the idea.
- 1:05:24Everything is teetering on a knife edge and you don't really
- 1:05:27know when it's going to go bad. But within grim darkness, if you
- 1:05:31don't have things like revelry and joy and cooperation and
- 1:05:36valiant last stands or like romance and it's not grim
- 1:05:42darkness, there's nothing it like.
- 1:05:43The grimness of it is seeing how people could be when they work
- 1:05:47together and then watching as people unfortunately fail
- 1:05:50because of their personal weaknesses.
- 1:05:55What you're describing is just fucking depression.
- 1:05:58No one likes each other, nobody gets along, everybody
- 1:06:00backstabbing each other. You're just describing like
- 1:06:02fucking you're. You're describing like this
- 1:06:05scaven but like with none of the fun parts of the scaven.
- 1:06:11Like as someone who's played in this kind of setting, it is so
- 1:06:16fucking taxing and draining when every character treats you like
- 1:06:20a dog shit. And like I I'm just seeing that
- 1:06:24the first comment here is referencing Game of Thrones.
- 1:06:27Yeah. Living in Game of Thrones sucks.
- 1:06:31It sucks as much as living in medieval times.
- 1:06:35But have you noticed when you watch Game of Thrones, people
- 1:06:39who like from warring factions get along pretty well and like.
- 1:06:45I haven't watched it, so no, but take a word for it.
- 1:06:50The point being is that the powers that be do the evil shit
- 1:06:53and it's the people on the bottom who suffer through it,
- 1:06:56and more often than not they suffer through it together.
- 1:06:59They're not constantly at each other's fucking throats just
- 1:07:01because you belong to a different place.
- 1:07:03Like bro. OK, but I don't feel like you
- 1:07:09totally answered the question here though is specifically no,
- 1:07:13I said because why does? It answer people don't know how
- 1:07:16to create the nuance of a truly tragic setting.
- 1:07:20It's easier to get cheap payoff by everyone being a Dick to you
- 1:07:25all the time. But how is why do they call it
- 1:07:29realism? Like why are they coding it and
- 1:07:32claiming it's realistic when they just want to be like sad
- 1:07:34and dour because I use the. Cover because they are using the
- 1:07:38idea that life can suck and often fantasy is about better
- 1:07:45tomorrow's. Whereas like you know, Game of
- 1:07:48Thrones, people die easily. Things bad shit just happens to
- 1:07:52good people, that's realistic. That happens.
- 1:07:55Bad things do happen to good people, but if nothing good ever
- 1:07:59happens to good people, that's not realistic.
- 1:08:02You're not taking into like, the natural chaos of the universe.
- 1:08:06Good shit happens and bad shit happens.
- 1:08:10I will say somebody left a little comment on this one that
- 1:08:13I I thought was pretty good like analysis, they said.
- 1:08:19Because some folk who run games online aren't exactly the kind
- 1:08:22of people who are socially well adjusted, and from those few a
- 1:08:27good amount like to give their type of weirdness a paint job
- 1:08:30that makes it look legit. Realistic in this case is
- 1:08:33translating to well in real life I don't like my life.
- 1:08:37So if my life is unfair and Gray and if I had the chance to stab
- 1:08:40people I vaguely disliked or otherwise exploit I think is a
- 1:08:44weak I think is weaker than me in real life.
- 1:08:46I do it in a heartbeat. Therefore this is realistic as
- 1:08:49everyone is as much of A jerk as I am.
- 1:08:53It's like, yeah, the degrees of that can shift, right?
- 1:08:57The, not the. Idea that.
- 1:08:59But. Well, yeah, but the idea that
- 1:09:01someone's like, I feel shitty about my life, so everyone must
- 1:09:04feel the way I'm feeling. It's like, yeah.
- 1:09:08It's fucking brutal, dog. It's not fun to play in those
- 1:09:11kind of settings. I, I try to to instill a level
- 1:09:17of grim darkness into Lancer when I'm running, right?
- 1:09:20Bad things do happen to good people, shit gets fucked up bad,
- 1:09:24and people are treated very poorly.
- 1:09:26But there is such a reverie in my campaign.
- 1:09:31Characters are just irreverent and they laugh really hard and
- 1:09:35people have good times and party like fucking animals because
- 1:09:38tomorrow could suck. So have a good time today, you
- 1:09:42know. There is a, I don't remember
- 1:09:48what culture it is, but there's a particular culture, but that's
- 1:09:50like a whole. It's like a whole ethos they
- 1:09:52have is like party hard now because like could be big L's
- 1:09:56tomorrow. Yeah.
- 1:10:00All right, so how about waifu harem though?
- 1:10:03Oh God, waifu harem. Good old #9 little #9 express,
- 1:10:08all right. This one's kind of just funny, I
- 1:10:10ain't even gonna lie. Is it OK?
- 1:10:12I think it is just. Jesus, this one is saucy.
- 1:10:16Yeah. Oh, not that.
- 1:10:19Not an essay warning it it. The essay warnings, kind of It's
- 1:10:25like half true. OK, all right, well, constant
- 1:10:28warning essay. They put the essay warning tag
- 1:10:31on it and like, yeah, sort of, but not really.
- 1:10:34OK so this one's titled Creep DM tries to build his own waifu
- 1:10:40harem, which I just is a great title.
- 1:10:44I am terrified. So the this is my first time
- 1:10:50writing something on Reddit and English is not my first leg and
- 1:10:53Coed should be patient. There are definitely a couple
- 1:10:55misspellings that threw me off here so I may I may get tripped
- 1:10:58up again reading it but my wife and me met the DM in a
- 1:11:03university and he seemed nerdy and like a really nice guy.
- 1:11:06Now, I would like to point out OP doesn't say this out
- 1:11:10outright, but I via context clues, I realized the person who
- 1:11:15posted this is also a lady, which might seem like a weird
- 1:11:18thing that I'm pointing out that it's a lesbian couple, but it's
- 1:11:21relevant. Understood.
- 1:11:24So just yeah, yeah, yeah. So keep that in mind.
- 1:11:27Yes, the person who's posting this is a lady, and they are
- 1:11:29also playing with their wife in this game.
- 1:11:32That is a relevance point. He was a bit awkward at times,
- 1:11:36but nothing out of the ordinary or creepy yet.
- 1:11:42For the first sessions, the plan was that only us 3 would be
- 1:11:47playing and then he would search for other players to join.
- 1:11:50Fine for us, we were hyped to try Pathfinder and learn how to
- 1:11:52play. She didn't mention the third
- 1:11:56player, but there's a third player.
- 1:11:57But we'll get there in a SEC. We started character creation
- 1:12:02and some things were a bit off, but I couldn't put my finger on
- 1:12:05it at the time. He began to hint to my wife that
- 1:12:08she should play a front liner and was kind of disappointed
- 1:12:11that she chose to play a male Mystic but let it slide.
- 1:12:17At the same time. I created a female fighter.
- 1:12:24He was. He showed me some races that he
- 1:12:27deemed fitting for female characters.
- 1:12:31Yeah, that should have been the first red flag, but at the time
- 1:12:35I thought he meant what would be the best for your female fighter
- 1:12:39and worded it awkwardly. Which, like, fair.
- 1:12:41If you don't know someone that well, you give him a little bit
- 1:12:44of the benefit of the doubt. OK.
- 1:12:46I chose a changeling because I thought her race could make a
- 1:12:49fun plot point, overcoming her mother and all.
- 1:12:51I made her AI made her a buff. I made her buff butt, girly
- 1:12:56scars, muscles, flower crowns and love of things that smell
- 1:12:59good. I really loved her.
- 1:13:00She was kind strong. She was kind, strong and loyal.
- 1:13:03Side note, loved that character trope.
- 1:13:06A big buff. Dami Mommy, who?
- 1:13:08Also Carlacks. Yeah, the Carlack.
- 1:13:10Yeah, Kyle. Well, no.
- 1:13:12No, but like, more than Carlack like.
- 1:13:16No way from Doro Headoro 6 foot 5 loves high heels.
- 1:13:20Yes, yes yes. The no way for yes, giant
- 1:13:23massive woman but like gorgeous likes dresses and flowers and
- 1:13:27all that yes. Amazonian.
- 1:13:29Who wants to be feminine? My Queen.
- 1:13:31Yes, love that energy. Yeah, fair enough.
- 1:13:33Good trope. Good trope.
- 1:13:35The DM. Didn't like her at all.
- 1:13:39Shame. What a loser.
- 1:13:42And here we get the first real good juicy one.
- 1:13:45In the first session he made us roll for Dick and boob size just
- 1:13:55to be a weird little fuck. Oh just to be one of those guys.
- 1:14:02We laughed it off and I decided to not roll and let her have
- 1:14:06smaller boobs. He was upset and ignored her
- 1:14:09most of the time or was weirdly mean towards my character
- 1:14:12because she got tighty titties. You know, totally reasonable
- 1:14:17thing to be mad about. As you do.
- 1:14:19As you do. He oh, Reddit was having a
- 1:14:24moment there. I just lost where I was, damn
- 1:14:28it. Oh no, OK.
- 1:14:31He introduced us to his world, in which every character is at
- 1:14:35least bisexual. It's just like a crazy thing to
- 1:14:40be like everyone, everyone. Everyone is player sexual one.
- 1:14:46Is player sick? Yeah, exactly.
- 1:14:49More accurate to say everyone's DM sexual in this case because
- 1:14:52later we found out it was so that every character, especially
- 1:14:56the women would be into his DMPC.
- 1:14:59Oh, no. OK.
- 1:15:06Yeah, his DMC, Pete, his DI can't even.
- 1:15:14Oh, I'm losing it. His DMPC was a beautiful Bard
- 1:15:19lady. Everyone knew her, everyone
- 1:15:21liked her, everyone was into her.
- 1:15:23He showed us a picture he had drawn, which I I really wanted
- 1:15:28it to be like. It was a really shitty drawing,
- 1:15:30but. Apparently not.
- 1:15:31Yeah, no, apparently it's actually pretty good.
- 1:15:33He was a skilled artist, but boy was she sexualized.
- 1:15:37Oh no. He named her after his
- 1:15:40girlfriend so we thought OK maybe she is made after her
- 1:15:45liking and the horses went wild with him.
- 1:15:47I don't know what the fuck that means.
- 1:15:50I I think he, he made her to his girlfriend's liking and then
- 1:15:55like I think just meant they just like ran wild with it, like
- 1:16:00it got out. Of hand, yeah, maybe.
- 1:16:02I don't know, he couldn't take it that our characters weren't
- 1:16:07totally into her and found her suspicious after she actively
- 1:16:11stole from us. Which like lol.
- 1:16:16The next the next session he introduced us to his real life
- 1:16:20girlfriend that would join our game.
- 1:16:22She was nice and fun but meeting her started the real horror.
- 1:16:26Not because of her, though. I know the way this person
- 1:16:30buries the lead on this is really good 'cause there's a,
- 1:16:33there's a, there's a plot twist coming in here.
- 1:16:34I'm bro, I'm not ready. There's a plot.
- 1:16:37Twist. It's great.
- 1:16:38I just see something that says wrong and I'm scared.
- 1:16:41It's only a couple paragraphs of where I'm so scared.
- 1:16:45There's a good plot twist after that.
- 1:16:47The red flags were accompanied by sirens.
- 1:16:56He said he started to argue with us that it wasn't rape when
- 1:17:01somebody used magic or potions on someone that didn't want to
- 1:17:04have sex with them because they wouldn't remember or think they
- 1:17:08wanted it afterwards. He didn't understand why drugs
- 1:17:11or alcohol were the real life equivalent for that stuff and
- 1:17:14why we were so sensitive with that topic.
- 1:17:17His girlfriend was on our side, which like I, I don't know how
- 1:17:24you're missing that one, bud, but all right.
- 1:17:25After one session, he started telling Have you seen?
- 1:17:29Have you? Have you seen the green text
- 1:17:31about the the Enchanter wizard? I don't think so.
- 1:17:35OK, I please someone on the Internet, if you can find this
- 1:17:39fucking green text, tell me there's a there's a, a thing.
- 1:17:42I I, I read once where problem player was playing a enchanter
- 1:17:49wizard and was basically doing this but was just enthralling
- 1:17:54people. It's like no, it's not weird
- 1:17:55because it's magic. It's not it's not assault
- 1:17:58because it's magic. I'm just making them want to
- 1:18:00believe they want it. Like oh oh dude, brother.
- 1:18:07Nice. Please, someone find that
- 1:18:10someone, I beg of you. I could be misremembering a
- 1:18:13little bit, but on like on the the argument the person made,
- 1:18:16but I'm pretty similar to that, yeah.
- 1:18:18Yeah, yeah. So after after one session, he
- 1:18:26started to tell me my character would die in the next fight just
- 1:18:30like that. First I thought he was trying to
- 1:18:32warn me and help me be prepared for the next fight.
- 1:18:34So I searched up and down for things I could do and he denied
- 1:18:37every idea I had beforehand. He always just circled back to
- 1:18:41Nah, she will die. But I created a better character
- 1:18:44for you, my sexy sex worker Kitsune Bard and that knows my
- 1:18:49DMPCI. Think they dated or something.
- 1:18:52Just play her that's easy you will like it.
- 1:18:55I didn't, I just wanted to play my girly pop berserker.
- 1:18:59Girly pop is good, I like that. It's a great way to put it.
- 1:19:02Between the sessions, he told us about how his abusive girlfriend
- 1:19:07all right, sorry. He told us about how abusive his
- 1:19:09girlfriend was and that she was cheating on him, which was weird
- 1:19:13because we weren't that close with both of them at the time
- 1:19:16and she seemed really nice. Nonetheless, we were there for
- 1:19:19him. Oh baby, we're getting to the
- 1:19:22good one. In the session after he made
- 1:19:26that, he made his girlfriend's character drunk and forced her
- 1:19:30to roll if the DMPC and her had sex and how good it was.
- 1:19:34Oh my. God.
- 1:19:35Yep, yeah, the classic roll for roll for did you fuck is like
- 1:19:40every creepy weirdo who runs a creepy DND game does this one
- 1:19:45OK? It's so stereotypical.
- 1:19:47I can't. There's a podcast I watch of
- 1:19:49these two guys and they were watching, they were watching
- 1:19:54Mighty 9 and talking about it and one of them was like, I ship
- 1:19:58Jester with Molly and he and the other guy was like, no, are you
- 1:20:02fucking kidding me? No, you're not going to have
- 1:20:05Laura Bailey's actual husband playing the actual love interest
- 1:20:09and be like, no, I shipped this too.
- 1:20:11As if he's going to be like I roll for.
- 1:20:13Does she like that? I'm not gonna lie.
- 1:20:21She. Liked.
- 1:20:22That it set me off. I'm not gonna lie.
- 1:20:23It had me in tears. By the way, Otaku is Anonymous
- 1:20:26is the podcast with with Nick Hammer and Danny Moto.
- 1:20:29Very good. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:20:33So yes, creepy GM is having his girlfriend's character
- 1:20:38potentially fuck his DM. Roll for Did she like that?
- 1:20:41Roll for yeah OP says my wife and I were uncomfortable but
- 1:20:46they were dating right Maybe they had made-up and were really
- 1:20:49hot for one another and he knows her boundaries right The next
- 1:20:53time we could just talk to them and say that was weird, right?
- 1:20:57Wrong. I mean, like, yeah, fair, like
- 1:21:01there could be some scenario where the the two people in
- 1:21:04question don't think that's weird, but don't do it.
- 1:21:07I there's ways to go about that one anyway.
- 1:21:09Yeah, yeah, I'm. Doing this.
- 1:21:12Here comes the plot twist. Wrong.
- 1:21:16We drive her home and talk to her about it and she was
- 1:21:19confused because they never dated.
- 1:21:27What They were never a couple. He lied to us.
- 1:21:34He thought when we thought they were dating we would we would
- 1:21:38convince her that he was a good guy and that she would fall for
- 1:21:42him. The guy he told us she cheated
- 1:21:45with, that was her actual boyfriend.
- 1:21:47What? What is?
- 1:21:50What is this Arcanum level nonsense?
- 1:21:54You got me so fucked up. Yes, Sir.
- 1:22:00That was my favorite bit. Nothing would have prepared me
- 1:22:03for that. That's not where I thought this
- 1:22:06was going. I know.
- 1:22:12My the, the way, the way that this person, the way that this
- 1:22:18poster buried the lead on that was so good.
- 1:22:24It's such a good plot to waste. Oh my God.
- 1:22:29I know it takes such a good turn right at the end there.
- 1:22:31It's like dog. I just, I'm sorry.
- 1:22:34You have to. You really have to.
- 1:22:37We drove her home and talked to her about it and she was
- 1:22:39confused because they never dated.
- 1:22:42They were never a couple. He lied to us.
- 1:22:45Like, yeah, it's great. You can like you can see the
- 1:22:49Charlie Day conspiracy. I think that part is like the
- 1:22:55way that this, that she wrote this too is particularly funny
- 1:22:58because it reads you can like see the, the sitcom scene.
- 1:23:03You know what I mean? Like the way the, the like you
- 1:23:06can see the script, read the acting.
- 1:23:08Yeah. For.
- 1:23:09Sure. So after that DND was over for
- 1:23:14us. He really tried to build his own
- 1:23:18PC harem with female characters and players he found desirable.
- 1:23:24We. We later found out that my wife
- 1:23:27could only play a man because he thought she was the man in our
- 1:23:31relationship and found her not sexy because she is strong
- 1:23:35willed and not really into girly stuff like the not girlfriend
- 1:23:39and me. We also found more things.
- 1:23:43We also found more things about found out more things about him.
- 1:23:46He sexually harassed 2 girls and the not girlfriend 2 outside of
- 1:23:50D&D. He also used our messages after
- 1:23:53he told us she cheated to gaslight her that the harassment
- 1:23:56wasn't harassment slash not so bad because two other women were
- 1:24:00on his side after finding out. After finding out that we did
- 1:24:05the only reasonable thing, we went to the police and after
- 1:24:09that they told us nothing will come out of it if she files a
- 1:24:11report. So we searched for the telephone
- 1:24:15number of his parents and called them.
- 1:24:18Yo. Telling his dad what he did but
- 1:24:24this is this is the this is the good ending on this one.
- 1:24:26His father was sadly not surprised but mad as fuck and
- 1:24:31took care of him, sending him to therapy and cutting off the
- 1:24:35money for his apartment. I'm.
- 1:24:40Not surprised. Yeah.
- 1:24:43Yeah. Can you imagine if it was like,
- 1:24:45hey, your son sexually harassed me and my girlfriend and a
- 1:24:51random woman, he lied to us and gas lit up into thinking he was
- 1:24:54dating to get him to get this person to actually date him.
- 1:24:58And your father goes, yeah, that checks out.
- 1:25:03Yep. Yeah, that's rough, bud.
- 1:25:08I'm not going to say motherfucking KMS.
- 1:25:13It's pretty bad. I mean, I, I just, the, the fact
- 1:25:21that they, the fact that Opie went out of her way to like
- 1:25:25call, call his parents and tell his dad bro, he's crazy.
- 1:25:30Sometimes I think that's what it takes.
- 1:25:32You just got to hit him where it.
- 1:25:33Hurts. My dad was like, whoa, whoa,
- 1:25:36whoa, whoa, whoa. Let's talk about this.
- 1:25:39And I'm telling you, dad, bro. They're in college.
- 1:25:44What's all happened, man? Yeah, my wife and me met the DM
- 1:25:49in university. Right.
- 1:25:52So like that's why the part that I think the funniest part to the
- 1:25:57ending there is sending him to therapy, but the cutting off his
- 1:26:01money for his apartment is diabolical.
- 1:26:06So funny. Like he's like Nah, you, you're
- 1:26:09just going to lose that lease bitch.
- 1:26:10Yeah, consequences or a bitch, ain't they?
- 1:26:17Yeah also like someone someone commented I would have left the
- 1:26:23second he asked to roll for Dick and boob size.
- 1:26:26And she's like nowadays I would too.
- 1:26:28But back then I didn't want to make a scene because of a joke
- 1:26:31or a quote. Like you fool, yeah, I get it,
- 1:26:36but it is still funny. I like if that didn't get me to.
- 1:26:43Leave a role for. Does she like that?
- 1:26:45I'm. I'm out.
- 1:26:47Yeah, I'm out. I don't care if it's consensual.
- 1:26:49I'm fucking out. I'm not doing it.
- 1:26:53Oh my God. I mean, and like, yeah, again,
- 1:26:57it like there could be some situation where that is like a
- 1:27:01consensual thing, but yeah, don't be doing it in front of
- 1:27:03everybody like that. What the fuck?
- 1:27:04Yeah, I know, Literally SpongeBob or my head out.
- 1:27:08Or like, if you do do it a little bit in front of everyone,
- 1:27:10like be quick about it, make a goof about it, move on.
- 1:27:12You know what I mean? Like don't, don't be lingering
- 1:27:14on that shit. Don't be making rolls and shit.
- 1:27:16What the hell? I OK, like you know, to that
- 1:27:18point, I think I would laugh if if the girl the quote UN quote,
- 1:27:21the girlfriend rolled AD 20 and went you did well, that would
- 1:27:25that would kill me. That would be funny as fuck.
- 1:27:27But yeah, don't. Right.
- 1:27:29That that's what I mean. Like there is a scenario where
- 1:27:31you could do that if you know, the people are dating, what's
- 1:27:33the scenario? You could do it and it could be
- 1:27:35like a funny little bit and like, you know, maybe they
- 1:27:39whisper it to each other that night or whatever.
- 1:27:41But like, yeah, don't make it like a whole ass thing.
- 1:27:50Yeah, but really, the way this person wrote in the plot twist
- 1:27:56is the bit that really just fucking sent me over the edge.
- 1:28:00Yeah, she really, she set that one up.
- 1:28:04It wasn't his girlfriend. I was like, dog, what so funny.
- 1:28:09I just Oh my God. Also, what kind of what kind of
- 1:28:14crazy ass motherfucker you got to be to be like?
- 1:28:18All right, here is my master plan.
- 1:28:20I'm just going to gaslight her so hard.
- 1:28:24And she thinks that actually I'm a good guy and then she'll love
- 1:28:27me. I'm gonna gaslight her so hard
- 1:28:31and lie like I'm gonna gaslight her so much about being my
- 1:28:34girlfriend. She'll decide to actually be my
- 1:28:36girlfriend. It's like what?
- 1:28:39And And the way I'm gonna do it is by getting two other women
- 1:28:44who I'm friends with to basically say that I'm not that
- 1:28:49bad. And somehow that's gonna
- 1:28:52convince her. Like what?
- 1:28:56That's not. There's just no scenario where
- 1:29:01that's how that works. Yeah, there's no shot.
- 1:29:03There's there's no shot like. Like even if let's say, let's
- 1:29:09take the creepy parts out of it and let's just do the the more
- 1:29:12innocuous bit of it where he, like he tries to get two of his
- 1:29:15free male friends to talk positively about him.
- 1:29:19I don't see that convincing a woman, a woman to be suddenly
- 1:29:22into you. Like you know what I mean?
- 1:29:26I feel like the simplest answer is just hey yo, can you wing man
- 1:29:28for me? Like right, Which is just be
- 1:29:31honest, just say it. Just be like, look, I'm trying
- 1:29:34to pick up jigs. Can you help me?
- 1:29:37I can't hear you. More often not, that'll go down
- 1:29:39better than you'd expect. Oh.
- 1:29:41For sure it will definitely go down better, but wing manning is
- 1:29:43not the same scenarios whatever the maneuver this motherfucker
- 1:29:46was trying to. Pull, right.
- 1:29:47Yes, true. Worth mentioning, yeah.
- 1:29:50And. And, and I feel like the only
- 1:29:53scenario where that's gonna work, like having two female
- 1:29:56friends talk positive about me to like shift this person's
- 1:29:59opinion. I feel like the only scenario
- 1:30:01where that's working is if she was already like maybe debating
- 1:30:05if she was in the like, you know, she was on the edge or
- 1:30:07something. True.
- 1:30:07Yes, very good point. Yeah.
- 1:30:09In that scenario, sure, but like.
- 1:30:11Brother, you had no shot. There was no shot.
- 1:30:15She. Had a boyfriend.
- 1:30:18She already had a boyfriend. You ever read that book?
- 1:30:20She's just not that into you. She's just not that into you.
- 1:30:24Oh my God, I get so funny. Anyway, yeah, I'm, I'm debating
- 1:30:37how hard, how much of A savage do I want to be?
- 1:30:40Say whatever, be as savage you want, I don't give a shit.
- 1:30:43Like brother, this is just such fucking loser behavior.
- 1:30:46Like I don't. Know yeah 100% you're.
- 1:30:47Such a fucking loser bro. I can't, I cannot.
- 1:30:52It's you are the reason why we need to have safety tools.
- 1:30:58I mean, yeah, pretty much. It's really that this is the
- 1:31:02kind of, I feel like this is the kind of dude who's going to go
- 1:31:04online and be like, God, women only want rich, sexy, hot men
- 1:31:10with abs. And they're like, I think
- 1:31:14there's a bit of a, a middle ground.
- 1:31:16If at some point this person procreates, I will take that as
- 1:31:19a personal failure on my part. Oh, my God.
- 1:31:28All right. Well, I think, I think we'll
- 1:31:30wrap it up with that one because it ends positively, more or
- 1:31:34less. And positively enough.
- 1:31:35Yeah, yeah, positively enough, right?
- 1:31:37He gets punished. Yeah.
- 1:31:40And it is funny. And also the I'm gonna call your
- 1:31:42mom is like. I'm calling.
- 1:31:44Yeah, I'm telling I'm. I'm.
- 1:31:46Telling you it's. So funny.
- 1:31:50Such a funny move, Oh my God. That is quite a gangster move,
- 1:31:56I'm not gonna lie. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:31:59Anyway, if you liked all that nonsense, you may give us a
- 1:32:02follow on the social media. We also have a donation link in
- 1:32:06description if you're feeling generous.
- 1:32:10I promise we don't normally do this level of stupid.
- 1:32:16In fact, this is the first time we've done it.
- 1:32:18Yeah, we probably will Again, though it is.
- 1:32:21It is kind of amusing, I ain't even going to lie.
- 1:32:23It is pretty funny, yeah. It's.
- 1:32:26It's hard not to like, you know? Anyway, I normally I'd say
- 1:32:32closing thoughts, but there's no closing thoughts to be had here.
- 1:32:35Yeah, I mean, I don't know. I just roll to see if she likes
- 1:32:40it. I don't know, see if she likes
- 1:32:42it. Oh my God, That's all I got.
- 1:32:48Peace, motherfuckers.
