- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Alright, welcome back to the podcast and apologize if I sound stuffed up a little bit.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: We were in Vegas last week, which is also why we didn't have an episode out.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: And coming back, we all kind of got a bug.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: And I I'm the current victim.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Apologize if I sound nasally and gross.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: This is a special episode because it comes out on Liam's birthday.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: We're talking about cats again today.
- 0:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 0:25SPEAKER_03: Just why it's Liam adjacent.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: That's why yeah, that's why I said it was Liam adjacent, and so we had to do it with him.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Yep, again, apologies for no episode last week.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: We didn't have Wi-Fi on the plane and ended up having less downtime than anticipated.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: But we're back.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: Back in the swing of things.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Try not to do that again.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: I was going to post the Bigfoot story since I had some people asking about it.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: That Garrett has major beef with.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: So comment down below, DM me.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: On Spotify, you can leave comments, I guess.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: So if you want to hear the legendary legend the legendary, whatever, the stupid Bigfoot episode.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Let me know.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: If that interests you at all.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: It's quite a doozy that one.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Obviously, if it put Garrett off.
- 1:20SPEAKER_04: Bigfoot Snyder Cut.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Bigfoot Snyder Cut.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Extended edition.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Bigfoot and IMAX.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Bigfoot and 30 is it 30 millimeter?
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: 70 millimeter.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: 70 millimeter, yeah.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Alright, but today we're talking about an urban legend that has to do with cats.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: I don't think any of us have heard of.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: So deep in the Columbia River Gorge on the Washington side of the river in Clickitat County, a mysterious and elusive creature roams the canyon and forest.
- 1:54SPEAKER_03: Warrior cats.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Post another warrior cats.
- 1:59SPEAKER_03: Shadow Claw or something.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: So this all sorry because an image of a yellow flyer that was posted on a Reddit thread kind of got my attention.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: It was posted in R slash PNW hiking.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: And this was a flyer that was stapled to the board of a trailhead.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: And it was kind of like unrelated to hiking a little bit.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: So I was like, oh, this is kind of weird.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: But it reads, Have you seen the ebony ape cat?
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Please file Please file a paranormal report at Margie's outdoor store in Bingin, Washington.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: Margie's outdoor store has received multiple credible reports of an ebony ape cat, EAC, prowling the Columbia River Gorge.
- 2:45SPEAKER_03: Ape cat?
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: This cryptid's frame is like that of an enormous heavy muscled panther.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: It is covered in jet black fur that is four to five inches long.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Its prominent tail is a stab is estimated to be six feet long.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: In some reports, it possesses intelligent ape-like eyes and other primate features.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Magnetic compass anomalies have accompanied some sightings.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: No hostile interactions have been reported.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: Please report any sightings or rumors you have heard.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Nothing is too ign insignificant.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: You will not be judged.
- 3:14SPEAKER_03: Dang, they're just gassing up Jimmy from next door.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: So that imagine seeing it's a bright yellow.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: It's a bright yellow flyer on a trailhead.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: You know, when they have like those maps, and yeah.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: So that's this image was posted from that.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 3:30SPEAKER_03: That's for sure just a black house cat, though.
- 3:32SPEAKER_03: They're just gassing them up.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Six-foot-long tail.
- 3:35SPEAKER_03: Gene is ego.
- 3:37SPEAKER_03: Skinny cat too.
- 3:38SPEAKER_03: Ginormous muscled puma-looking thing.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Intelligent eyes.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: So while the flyer said ebony ape cat, it's also been referred to as the atomic ape ape cat or the click-a-tape cat, which I prefer because I like the rhyme.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Say that three times fast.
- 3:55SPEAKER_04: Click-a-tape cat, click-it-tap ape cat.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: And it's called that mainly due to the fact that many of the sightings primarily happen in Click-a-Tat County, which was on the Washington side of the Columbia River.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: So from what I could find, this quote unquote cryptid is relatively new as far as they go, with documentation starting only in 2022.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, cryptid.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: And we know Sasquatch has significant like native historic historical significance that goes back centuries, and even the bandage man has been around for like a hundred years or something.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: So the fact that documentation of this thing only started in 2022 is kind of like, huh.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Modern cryptid?
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Not quite sure.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: However, allegedly the first sightings can be dated back to 1960, with reports of big dark panthers roaming around the gorge.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: The only big cats this region has, however, is a mountain lion, which doesn't have a gene mutation that would result in a black or a dark shade fur.
- 4:56SPEAKER_03: Found oil.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: So James Subski, the chief operating officer of Margie's outdoor store, is even quoted as saying the creature's appearance does not match any of the mundane wildlife that live in Washington or Oregon.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: In fact, according to some reports, it doesn't seem like it matches any commonly known animal at all.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: That and certain details about the reported encounters lead us to believe that there's a chance we may be dealing with something paranormal.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: Whether or not that pans out to be true, one thing is clear, there's definitely something very unusual prowling around the gorge.
- 5:27SPEAKER_03: They have a chief operating officer for an outdoor store.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's just like the owner now.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: So James, this guy, begins up.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: He began collecting stories of the ape cat in 2022 after getting nearly a hundred reports in a year from residents, hikers, employees, and tourists coming into the store, and they all had similar descriptions of a large, dark, cat-like creature.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's marketing for sure.
- 5:53SPEAKER_04: And no photos.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: So with so many people talking about it, he figured that there were others that had encounters that had yet to come forward, which prompted the flyers posted around popular trails.
- 6:03SPEAKER_03: Is he just hoping to get a pick?
- 6:04SPEAKER_03: Is he trying to make like his own Bigfoot?
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Several ports have similar information, allegedly.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: The Ape Cat sightings mainly happen at around dawn or dusk and have happened primarily in Buck Creek, Snowden, Click Attack Canyon, and properties around Trout Lake.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Many sources confirm that realtors in these areas warn buyers when they're showing remote properties about the potential of encountering the mysterious animal.
- 6:28SPEAKER_03: Dude, I gotta meet Jimmy in Buck Creek.
- 6:33SPEAKER_03: I need a house there.
- 6:36SPEAKER_03: Jimmy the Puma cryptid.
- 6:38SPEAKER_03: Or maybe his name's like Smokey or something.
- 6:40SPEAKER_03: He's like a little house cat.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Oh, like Jimothy.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: What if it's just like a deformed cat?
- 6:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's just a house cat, just a black house cat that just got let out.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: Okay, so it could be the case.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: However, electromagnetic anomalies associated with paranormal phenomena are also present in many of the encounters.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Batteries being completely drained, compasses spinning out, and other disturbances lead many to believe this might not just be cryptid, but potentially something not of this world.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: Despite this region having extensive folklore due to the Clickata and other native tribes that resided in the area, there's little to no written record of anything that resembles an ape cat.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: So we know Sasquatch and like Sasquatch adjacent things belong and have a place in native lore, but like this does not.
- 7:28SPEAKER_04: Is the only ape-like part of it the eyes?
- 7:31SPEAKER_03: It's the face-like intelligence.
- 7:34SPEAKER_04: Chiseled jawline.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: Is it's a Giga Chad Panther.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: I just imagine that cat on two legs with like the big arms.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: So Margie's outdoor store in Binge in Washington remains the epicenter or hub of all things Ape Cat, with James leading the Clickata Ape Cat research team.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: The team vets local reports and investigates sites where the cryptid has been spotted.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: They employ several trail cameras to document any unusual animal activity that help them gather digital evidence that may lead to the discovery of physical evidence, such as trackways with clear prints and measurements for stride length, hair samples collected via barbed wire, scat for DNA analysis, catch kills or feeding sites, audio or video documentation.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: However, no substantial physical evidence has been recovered thus far.
- 8:28SPEAKER_04: Interesting.
- 8:30SPEAKER_04: So still the markings down it.
- 8:32SPEAKER_04: Doesn't seem to have worked very well.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: Nope.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: Okay, so one of the very first encounters came from like a local man who was a family, a family friend of the original owner, Margie.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: And he came in because he was orienteering up near Buck Creek.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: And I guess what's funny about that?
- 8:55SPEAKER_03: Near Buck Creek.
- 8:56SPEAKER_03: I need to buy that town, ASAP.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: B U C K Buck Creek.
- 9:00SPEAKER_03: Oh, you sure?
- 9:01SPEAKER_03: It's not Buck Creek.
- 9:04SPEAKER_03: You heard Buck too, didn't you, Lou?
- 9:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: Buck, sorry.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: Um Sophie Buck Creek.
- 9:10SPEAKER_03: Nah, Buck Creek.
- 9:12SPEAKER_03: Count me in, I'm mayor.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: And orienteering, I thought that's what you're laughing at.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: It's like when you go hiking with a compass.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: And you have to like I don't know.
- 9:21SPEAKER_03: Hike with a compass, come on now.
- 9:23SPEAKER_03: You should know your way around.
- 9:24SPEAKER_03: Lewis and Clark.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: So most of the sightings have occurred in river canyons on the Washington side of the gorge, but this man noticed his compass behaving erratically.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: Its needle kept bending away from north.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: He would actually see the needle moving as he held the compass in his hand.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: That and the location are two of several important supernatural clues.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: Shortly after the magnetic compass weirdness, the man glanced across the creek, and that's when he noticed the creature watching him.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: The frame of the beast was like that of a heavy muscled, extraordinary large panther.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: The creature stood close to five feet tall at the shoulder.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: It was carved in jet black fur that was four to five inches long.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: The fur did not lay flat, but instead stood it stood straight out.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: Its prominent tail was easily six feet long.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: The tail is like one of the most commonly reported characteristics of this animal.
- 10:12SPEAKER_02: This thing was five feet tall to the shoulder.
- 10:16SPEAKER_02: Dear God, bro, would you we deal with a triceratops?
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: It had intelligent, intelligent ape-like eyes and other primate features.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: He said the best way to describe was a cross between a huge monkey and a panther.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: It was completely unafraid of the man and seemed to regard him with great curiosity.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: They observed each other for at least five minutes before the beast turned into the thick forest and disappeared.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: The man said the experience of connecting with such an unusual being was thrilling for sure, but not really scary.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: He considers himself lucky to have had what he calls a magical encounter.
- 10:57SPEAKER_03: A magical encounter.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: There are various theories about where this thing could have come from because it's just some dude dressed up in a Panther Super.
- 11:09SPEAKER_03: No, yeah, like intelligent eyes.
- 11:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's Randy.
- 11:15SPEAKER_03: That's Randy in there.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: One of the leading theories is that the Ape Cat is a mutant from the nearby Hanford site, which is northeast of Clickatak County, which is where the name Atomic Ape Cat stems from.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: The Hanford site is a decommissioned nuclear production complex that was established during the Manhattan Project to provide plutonium for national defense, aka the Nagasaki bomb.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: The water from the Columbia River was perfect for cooling down nuclear reactors, and of course, dumping radioactive waste.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: During Hanford's operation until 1989, the federal govern government deposited hundreds of millions of gallons of radioactive waste directly into the ground in injection wells, trenches, and buried drums, as well as placing waste in 177 large underground tanks.
- 12:05SPEAKER_03: Sounds like a Scooby-Doo episode, right?
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: It is one of the most radioactive places on in the Western Hemisphere.
- 12:13SPEAKER_03: This sounds like Scooby-Doo.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: And it's like 500 square miles.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: Like that's how big this is.
- 12:18SPEAKER_03: And you know what happens at the end of Scooby-Doo?
- 12:20SPEAKER_03: They unmask the creature and it's Randy, bro.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay.
- 12:23SPEAKER_03: Somebody's doing this for money.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: Scientists at the site also conducted thousands of tests on various animals to study the effects of radiation.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: Animal remains recovered from the site reveal testing was done on rodents, cats, dogs, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, and alligators.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: Long-term studies on sheep were published and concluded that prolonged exposure to radiation led to physical and internal deformities.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: Due to the information that we do know about Hanford site, it's not a reach to assume that the ape cat could be a potential mutant test subject that evolved or escaped from the site.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: Because of course they're not going to publish like the experiments that went wrong or went wrong.
- 13:05SPEAKER_04: House cat that grew tall and is standing on his back legs and has a six-pack.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: And has a monkey face.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: So that's one of the theories.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: Escape mutant from former nuclear plutonium site.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 13:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's Randy, bro.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: The other theory is, well, just purely self-promotion.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: That's a man.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Many of the articles that exist about information regarding the Ape Cat are sponsored by none other than Margie's outdoor store, featuring the leader of the Ape Cat research team, his research team himself, James.
- 13:42SPEAKER_03: Okay, I'll say it back.
- 13:42SPEAKER_03: It's not Randy, it's James.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: Skeptics believe his constant media presence because he's been in he's like goes on podcasts all the time.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, bro.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: He's made it like beyond just like a regional thing.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: It's kind of like a a national thing now that people know about this thing.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: So yeah, skeptics believe his constant media presence and push for the gorge to be a paranormal tourist destination are simply for a personal financial gain.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: They do paranormal tours out of Margie's outdoor shop, outdoor shop.
- 14:10SPEAKER_03: Should have mentioned that before, dude.
- 14:11SPEAKER_03: This is straight up Scooby-Doo.
- 14:13SPEAKER_03: Oh my goodness, nuclear site.
- 14:15SPEAKER_03: Okay, wow, there's this creature haunting it.
- 14:18SPEAKER_03: Oh my oh, we're doing tours.
- 14:20SPEAKER_03: Oh, oh, that's just Randy.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: In a city council meeting in 2024, it's a part that he cited Nessie, the Lochness monster, who generated who generated over$54 million for the town and local businesses.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: And he plans to do the same for Benjamin and Clickata County.
- 14:35SPEAKER_03: Okay, wait, you can't just announce you're gonna scam.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: He claims he's in it for the love of the game, and having tourists come out and support the community is a bonus.
- 14:45SPEAKER_03: I'm in it for the love of the TV.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: He didn't say that.
- 14:49SPEAKER_03: I said that, but I definitely don't want the financial gain that I'm gonna get from making this story up.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: Like he he believes he's spending obviously all this time leading this research team and reporting.
- 15:04SPEAKER_04: Do you know how tall James is?
- 15:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, is James five feet perhaps?
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: So healthy skeptics like Todd Jacobson, a wildlife conflict specialist in the region employed by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, think that the concept of the of the ape cat who's rarely seen and can cross the Columbia River, allegedly, is impossible.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: He said, I've had a few reports over the years of black cougars, but photos submitted with those reports confirmed these animals to be run-of-the-mill, normal-sized domestic cow towels.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: What is Jimmy?
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: Sometimes those cats even have pet collars on them.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: We could talk at length about the reports I've received about cougars and leopards turning out to be house cats.
- 15:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah, bro, it's Jimmy.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Additionally, the time between when the first alleged report occurred and now would imply the existence of multiple of these creatures and an entire secret black ape cat population that, despite growing numbers over the past seven years, still has rarely been spotted.
- 16:00SPEAKER_03: Dude, I'm sorry.
- 16:01SPEAKER_03: I cannot imagine a five, five feet to the shoulder cat living in a dude standing on its back legs.
- 16:08SPEAKER_04: Well, and like that.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: That's ter that area of the gorge is James has a six-pack.
- 16:12SPEAKER_03: And uh I need inspection right now.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: James, undressed.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: It's not like that area of the gorge is super heavily forested, too.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: It's like dry and yeah, where are they getting food from?
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: What do you mean?
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: Who the cat?
- 16:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: Well, bro, deer, deer, and deer.
- 16:31SPEAKER_02: That thing's gotta go through like five deers a day, bro.
- 16:34SPEAKER_02: Five feet to the shoulder.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 16:36SPEAKER_02: Dear God, that thing's ginormous.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: Another theory is that what was spotted could have been a quadruped Bigfoot.
- 16:44SPEAKER_03: Aye, bro.
- 16:47SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 16:47SPEAKER_03: Go ahead.
- 16:48SPEAKER_03: No.
- 16:48SPEAKER_03: Take whoever, dude, take him out back.
- 16:50SPEAKER_03: Take him out back.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: So according to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, which Garrett is.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: All yards barking out there about.
- 16:58SPEAKER_03: Someone go check on him.
- 16:59SPEAKER_03: Take that guy with him.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: Which Garrett is president of, clearly.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: 10% of reports mention the creature, Bigfoot, moving on all fours.
- 17:10SPEAKER_03: Dude, come on, man.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: So some state that it goes into a fast spider-like crawl similar to that of primates before standing up and continuing on two legs.
- 17:20SPEAKER_03: Dude, uh, well, that's more terrifying than some guy just strutting towards me.
- 17:23SPEAKER_03: I got Randy on all fours.
- 17:26SPEAKER_03: And the suit, the ghillie suit.
- 17:28SPEAKER_03: James.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: Author author Jimmy Well, no, no, no, no.
- 17:31SPEAKER_03: Randy's the the Bigfoot James is now the Okay, okay.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: Author John Rainier has a book called Crouching Behemoth, Quadrupent Sasquatch, with multiple detailed accounts of Bigfoot exhibiting this behavior.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: So this theory could somewhat explain like the monkey face aspect of the ape cat, but not really the rest of it.
- 17:50SPEAKER_03: Let's bring back book burnings.
- 17:53SPEAKER_03: Put all that one back in there.
- 17:54SPEAKER_03: Whole thing.
- 17:56SPEAKER_03: Entire publication run.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: Dude, he's not alive anymore.
- 18:00SPEAKER_03: Not the person the book.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: I know I know.
- 18:05SPEAKER_03: Quadruped, dude.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: So is it fact, fiction, radioactive experiment gone wrong, or for a friend that got out and is now unknown unknowingly wreaking havoc on the cryptid community?
- 18:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I've got I've got a vote for uh for it being Jimmy the house cat.
- 18:23SPEAKER_03: I've got a vote for it being James, the the dude who's getting money off this, and I've got a vote for Randy, just some freak.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: But James didn't prompt the reports.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: He like started this research team because he was getting so many reports that he was like, I have to look into this myself.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: So it's not like he's the one that created this thing.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: Other people have come forward and like said that they've ex they've seen it, they've experienced it.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: But could they also be seeing Bigfoot on all fours?
- 18:54SPEAKER_03: No.
- 18:56SPEAKER_03: What if the Puma Cat is like his drag persona and then someone saw him and he's like, oh my goodness, hold up guys, we gotta we gotta like roll it back, make a story about this.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: We gotta diva here.
- 19:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:09SPEAKER_03: I think someone saw him out having a good time in his first sona.
- 19:14SPEAKER_03: And you know, he just had to he had to double down.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the stage, click a cat ape cat.
- 19:19SPEAKER_03: Well and then yeah, Randy the freak.
- 19:23SPEAKER_03: He was just out there for the love of the game.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: Put on a suit.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: There's no Randy.
- 19:29SPEAKER_03: There could be a Randy, bro.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: Liam, what are your thoughts on this?
- 19:34SPEAKER_03: Those are my three possibilities.
- 19:36SPEAKER_03: There's no quadruped, Bigfoot.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: You don't think it's a nuclear experiment gone wrong?
- 19:44SPEAKER_03: Dude, there's money involved.
- 19:46SPEAKER_03: It's either Randy or James.
- 19:47SPEAKER_03: It's gotta be James, actually.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: Bro, there's no Randy.
- 19:50SPEAKER_03: Randy's doing it for the love of you.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: What are you talking about?
- 19:52SPEAKER_03: Nah, Randy's just some some freak that just like puts on a super funsies.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:01SPEAKER_03: That's Randy.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: Okay, you're getting you're getting weird.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: You're going down a weird Liam.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: What are your thoughts?
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: I found a cat cryptid for you.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: What do you think of it?
- 20:14SPEAKER_04: I wish it was radioactive experimentation.
- 20:17SPEAKER_04: Because then we could have a a ton of cats everywhere.
- 20:22SPEAKER_03: But dude, a cat the size of a house.
- 20:25SPEAKER_04: Well I know, but we'd we'd be seeing more of these.
- 20:30SPEAKER_03: These things are gotta be hungry.
- 20:32SPEAKER_03: They're not eating kibble.
- 20:34SPEAKER_04: That'd be better for me than this just being some promotional stunt from the from the store, which I think it is.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: I mean in the Geist Defense, the gorge does have a lot of like paranormal activity.
- 20:45SPEAKER_04: But this also isn't hurting anyone or like scaring anyone.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right.
- 20:49SPEAKER_04: Like no one's even talking about being afraid of it.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: No, and there's been no physical encounters.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: Like it hasn't attacked anybody.
- 20:57SPEAKER_03: It hasn't no pictures, no videos.
- 21:01SPEAKER_04: Stood there for five minutes watching them very intently.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: And like it's even kind of hard to find encounters.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: That was like the only one that's really published because it's the first one, but they kind of keep all the other stuff close to their chests.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: Like you have to go, I guess if you go to the store, you gotta sign up.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: They have a book of like all the encounters and stuff.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: But you can't find them online.
- 21:24SPEAKER_03: So you think it's a persona, or you just think it's this guy just spinning stories and no, it's probably just like a house cat.
- 21:31SPEAKER_03: Uh okay, I think it's Jimmy.
- 21:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 21:36SPEAKER_04: I mean that's like the most probable outcome.
- 21:38SPEAKER_04: Especially because there's no like there's no like go at ghost expert or something that's gone out there and like check the site or they had an expedition.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: What's it called?
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: Expedition X?
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: They like that's a discovery show and they look into cryptids.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: I guess they came and investigated this, but then they ended up faking their evidence.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: Well how's it say they they they found James in a bush?
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, very obviously.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: And so a lot of people online were mad about it.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: They're like, dude, you could have just said like this is an elusive creature.
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: You didn't have to they faked like um some Oh well we found droppings.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: No, they faked some heat I don't know image image sensor or something.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: No, it was like very it was very clearly CGI and so everyone was very upset about it.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: So yeah like I said to this day there's been no concrete evidence images, videos yet.
- 22:39SPEAKER_04: How tall is James?
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: Garrett, call him up and ask.
- 22:43SPEAKER_04: I want to hear from the rest of the research team.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: Right, yeah.
- 22:46SPEAKER_04: Not the store owner or someone working for the store.
- 22:50SPEAKER_03: I don't know what if it's kind of like a like Chinese dragon though, you know, like one research team's the the left leg, the other one's the right leg, and they kind of just each do the the four limbs and kind of maneuver the puppet like that.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: Bro okay.
- 23:04SPEAKER_04: Carrot's writing a book.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: You're not feeling that carrot's writing a fan fiction about this guy.
- 23:09SPEAKER_03: Dude it's either Randy James or Jimmy.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: If you're doing like a cross a w a warrior cat's exceed we do yeah that's kind of what this has turned into.
- 23:21SPEAKER_03: I don't know about Warrior Cats.
- 23:22SPEAKER_03: Jimmy's not a warrior cat he's just a house cat.
- 23:25SPEAKER_03: Randy's just a weirdo Jimmy Jimmy's the black house cat just normal dude Randy's the random guy doing it for the love of the game and then James the guy doing it for money three options.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: Okay Lamb and then we got quadruped Bigfoot out there too moving on all fours like a spider miss me with that.
- 23:51SPEAKER_04: That'll be a different episode quadruped bigfoot memory wide okay believability score in Liam I mean I believe that there is a house cat out there that people are seeing um but the actual story like one I there's like no reason to believe most of it Garrett believability.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: I believe it's either Jimmy James or Angie a number a number on a scale number on a scale I mean I'll give it a 3.75 for each of them really could be James could be Randy could be Jimmy that that doesn't go to 10 close enough though it's a little over but it's close enough okay okay Liam what's your creepy score then zero really it's it's not harming anyone it's not would you prefer to doing anything to scare anyone bro a cat that is reportedly five feet to the shoulder dude stared at it for five minutes and it stared back and he wasn't scared he was like oh that was a great like good vibes for staring conversation we had.
- 25:13SPEAKER_04: I'm so lucky I met that guy so lucky I met Randy we actually like chopped it up at a beer too no I I don't think there's anything scary about it.
- 25:23SPEAKER_04: Like all the reports that we heard from this was that people were like intrigued by it at the end.
- 25:29SPEAKER_04: But yeah there's like no reason to be scared of it from from what we've heard.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 25:37SPEAKER_03: You gotta be a special type of person to be intrigued by that thing.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: Well but okay imagine put yeah put yourself in the in these people's feet you're in the forest you're hiking presumably it's not coming into town so like you're already in the woods anything would be scary in the woods.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm saying.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: Bro five feet to the shoulder okay so you'd give it a higher creepy score than believability.
- 26:02SPEAKER_02: Dude I'd be creeped out even if it was Randy Okay.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: Hey enough of no Randy Jimmy James what do you think of the click at ape cat?
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: The JJR theory we're adding to the lore so someone's gonna AI's gonna pick this up and like provide this as a reference and so people are gonna be like who's Jimmy and who's Randy Randy okay nah creepy though yeah if I saw like a beast that big yeah I'm I mean you might as well just take me out there.
- 26:35SPEAKER_03: I need a number um solid eight if I'm hiking in the woods and I see that thing yeah I'm either running dying or like something's happening.
- 26:44SPEAKER_00: Well yeah I'd be scared of a mountain lion period let alone like a huge black cat with a monkey face.
- 26:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah no I'd be scared though I would be too so yeah it's solid eight if it's real dude house I mean house cat wouldn't be scary but if a house cat was that big I'd be scared house cat can't be that big I'm just thinking and muscular I mean that's gotta be at least a seven out of ten scary because the odds of it being Jimmy are pretty low.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: Randy and James are a lot higher than personally I'm the I'm the most scared of Randy dude willingly got into a a fursuit and he's coming after me you're you've made Randy Randy is not real Randy can't hurt you Randy is Randy's more real than this cat.
- 27:28SPEAKER_03: The clickata ape cat yeah ape cat is crazy oh he's got real intelligent eyes here man that's a human in there I wanna I wanna show you what it looks like.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: That's there's pictures Woldar's run renderings of it first hand account drawings.
- 27:49SPEAKER_03: Wait because this should this could be like a black bear too couldn't it with a monkey face though I mean if the thing's that big it's more likely to be a bear than a big thing.
- 28:03SPEAKER_04: Ah I'm dropping the creepy down to like a yeah no I can say where it's at was that just like a photo of a cougar taking up a whole hull?
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah basically when I was thinking five feet to the shoulder I I assumed that he was on all fours yeah yeah yeah that's why Oh so he was way bigger than that yeah okay well you just show me a picture of it just like some puma well it's a it's a drawing it's not gonna be two scale okay dang that guy's like as big as a moose yeah that would be pretty big miss me with that with a six foot long tail yeah I'm not sure his measurements come from but James must be five feet and one of the researchers is six okay well have you heard of the click a tape cat atomic ape cat ebony ape cat have you run into this ape cat I would love to know since there aren't very many stories out there so send me an email to send me a DM anything like that also let me know if you want to hear the um infamous Bigfoot story potentially might post that in the following few weeks if there's interest um follow us on all social media early beloved podcasts send us an email send me an email yourlibelovedpodcast at gmail.com I don't know if you send us an email you might get a surprise response from GedWords instead Garrett does not have access to the email um if you have any paranormal stories cryptids true crime anything you want us to look into or potentially do an episode on spooky season is coming up thinking about doing a spooky lake month for September thinking about it and then something gotta think of something good for October if you have any suggestions something you want us to cover let me know and thank you for listening to this episode again sorry about no episode last week appreciate you all right thanks for listening bye out keep an eye out for Jimmy James or Andy
