- Chris Laker: I know the thing everybody wants to know right away. Did I go see Digger last night? I didn't. That's anticlimatic, but it's the truth. I didn't go. And neither did you. You didn't go see Digger. I asked you to go see Digger. Small favor for me. Not much. You just go to the movies. It's a fun thing to do. Go see a fun movie. And you didn't do it. That's fine. Hey, I know who I can rely on now. Nobody, not even myself. I might go tonight. You might go tonight. All right. It's you have the weekend. Last night didn't work out. Maybe tonight. I might go tonight unless my chemical romance at Hollywood Bowl tickets take a significant dip on Stub Up. Right now, more than I'm willing to pay to go to Hollywood Bowl by myself to see my chemical romance. I don't know anybody who likes emo. None of my friends like emo. They're too cool there's good emo. My chemical romance, best emo, in my opinion. I have no problem going to concerts by myself. Once I started going to movies by myself, which I don't know why I had a problem with that ever, when I was in my early twenties, I couldn't even imagine going to movies by myself. who cares? Nobody is talking during the movie. It's very easy. You just go in and enjoy the movie and you leave. hanging out by yourself, it's a fun thing to do. And going to a concert, same thing. I don't really talk during the concert. it's the before the show chat and the after show chat. Sure. That's nice. I like to go with people. If I had a friend who wanted to go see my chemical romance, yeah, then I'd be going. But I'm probably still not going 'cause I'm not paying two hundred and fifty bucks. I'm hoping moments before the show somebody's panic selling and then I get in there at a reasonable price. I'm probably not gonna go see my chemical romance and I might go see Digger. It's a lot easier for me to go see Digger. I can just walk to the movie theater. I love being able to walk to a movie theater. It's very important to me to be able to walk to the movies. It's always been my goal anywhere I live walk to the movies, walk to late night food. I can technically walk to late night food from here, but I would drive There's not much late night food left. I Twenty four hour shit. I just done that has been done for a while, it's not really happening even in New York anymore as much as it was. And I love that shit. sitting at a diner at four in the morning on a a Tuesday or a Wednesday. Eating an omelet, drinking coffee, hanging out with a friend. any twenty four hour stuff now is like twenty four hours on the on the weekend. the world has changed know who this quote's attributed to. I saw it somewhere. It's probably a Reddit comment. Don't cry because it's over, smile 'cause you were there. That's pre COVID, pre-Trump. Obama era. That's what that was the fuck man. That was good shit. Not to lionize a much lauded period. People say all the eighties were great, the nineties were great, the two thousands, except for nine eleven, so great. Yeah, because it was all better than the past ten years. Past ten years. Fucking kinda kinda the worst. Is it possible that 30, say 30 years from now? So what do we let let's do the math on that in the twenty twenty fifty six? Will I be thirty years from now on this podcast in twenty fifty six saying, dude? The twenties. The twenties were fucking hot. now, this shit. Yeah. We wouldn't have stood for this in the twenties. The twenties, we were we were raging. We were having a party. I don't think so. I'm gonna say this was bad. We're gonna say this was bad. Although during the two thousands, everybody was saying the two thousands were bad. And they were. it doesn't happen like on the zero. once we got through the end of Bush, it wasn't even wasn't even a 10 year period that we got out of that. It was like a seven year period. 'Cause once the twenty sixteen election started, it kinda all went to fucking dog shit. Then Tom Petty died and Prince died and David Bowie died. Yeah, I was pretty fucking gnarly. Is that when that happened? No, Prince and Prince and David Bowie were twenty sixteen. Tom Petty was twenty seventeen. It's probably worse times ahead. Hopefully better. I'm depressing myself. this puts all things in perspective. Maybe I should spend the extra dough go see my chemical romance tonight. Or digger. Either one sounds like a solid Saturday night to me. I'm gonna get to the news. Fire devastates the Eagle's Nest retreat built for Hitler in Germany. A person is detained. This was arson. They're gonna rebuild. somehow preserving Hitler's retreat there is a tribute to the fall of in Germany, which you know they're trying to make a comeback there, besides the point. it's bad that it was burned. Yesterday somebody was knocking the heads off the Iwo Jima statue in Virginia. that why would anybody even do that? somebody burning down this eagle's nest I kinda get it, I guess. Not to go set something on fire. they arrested a guy, they said it's Arson and he's mentally ill wanted to s not just set a fire, wanted to set a famous fire. Get in the news. He's in a lot of trouble. And they're gonna rebuild that eagle's nest. Don't worry. If you wanted to see what Hitler's retreat looked like, I feel like people who want to go see that might be fan. I I I don't get it. I don't understand. I'm not that smart. I'm not dumb, sometimes I think I'm smart and then I realize I'm not. Canadian woman living in US dies after fears of detection prevented her from seeking medical care. People are afraid to go to the doctor. Well, this situation with this particular woman, she was living in this town that's in Washington State, but it's connected to Canada. you have to drive through Canada to get to anywhere else in the United States. It's the very end of this peninsula that's connected to Canada, but it's across the border. Like the the line they drew that said, Hey, that's United States and that's Canada. You're in the United States in this town, but to leave the town, there's a border there. they have no hospital in this town. You gotta go through Canada to go to hospital in the United States or go to a Canadian hospital. I don't understand why she was so adverse to living in Canada when she was basically living in Canada, but just the most remote. part of the United States and only remote because there's Canada there. she she had a deportation hearing that she was supposed to go to in November in Seattle. I don't remember this story. It might have been a story in Canada because this is a Canadian news story. She was crossing over to go back to where she lived and was questioned for four hours about whether or not she voted illegally the United States. it's a weird story. there are definitely other people who are not seeking medical care that need it because they're afraid of being detained. And when they're detained, they get no medical care. So they'll die in detention centers and that won't be reported. This town sounds kind of cool though. It's just hassle to get to. And now you gotta drive through Canada and Canada hates the United States because Trump's a fucking dickhead So this town would be cool if Canada didn't hate us. I've gotten some surly Canadian border crossing guys when things were good. when traveling by bus into Canada, they are very suspicious. to say you're visiting a friend. you have a friend in Toronto? You're telling me you live in New York and you have a friend in Toronto? How is that uncommon? one time they were going through my phone They were trying to catch me in a lie saying I was in Montreal some other time because there was an email. They were like searching my emails there was an email about something happening in Montreal. You're like, You weren't in Montreal in September. I I was like, No. I was talking to somebody about something in Montreal around then. But I didn't go there. You understand the word Montreal in an email does not mean I was in Montreal. eventually they let me go. I got back on the bus to Toronto, I mean I did lie to them because I said I was visiting a friend. I was I was staying with a friend, but I was there to do shows, I wasn't making much money, so I didn't want to go through all the visa bullshit or whatever the hell you had to do paperwork. So I just say, yeah, I'm just going to hang out with friends. so I was lying to them. So they were right there, still they didn't know that. And I well, I got away with it. And I made barely any money, and I was paid in Canadian dollars. I spent most of it there. I converted some of it, once you go to one of those money exchange places, you lose like half of it for some reason. I probably still have some of that Canadian money. They got little kids playing hockey on the back of their like five dollar bill. It's nice money. I like their money. Doesn't feel like real money. only USD feels like real money. I don't like that plasticky hologrammy shit money. You can't fold it. it's probably better for the environment or it it's more durable and all that. cash needs to fold. you fold a euro, it's just coming right back up on you. So he moved around. he'll probably move to another town and be a cop there. and shooting a baby will probably be under his special skills on his resume. It was on Twitter, and then Michael Tracy, he promoted he's some sort of pro Epstein journalist. There's a pro Epstein guy, an Epstein didn't do anything wrong kind of guy. I think allegedly, I don't want him to sue me, He seems like the kind of guy that would sue people. I don't know that he is. I don't know that much about him, other than he sucks, in my opinion. And he put her name out there. his defense was it was already out there. it would seem like a tactic by some scumbag lawyers to put her name out there more in order to try to intimidate her So the judge is saying, Don't do that. I saw that she has received a number of death threats from I guess people who are very pro fraternity, afraid that their fraternities might be taken away, their beloved institutions. You know, real cool guys. DOJ will sue to block Alaska if Republican Senate candidate loses. yeah Department of Justice is illegitimate This sounds like an empty threat. obviously you can't do that. there's no judge that would uphold that. the Department of Justice has had a l so many cases just laughed out of court. So I think this might be another one of those. I don't know anything about the law. But that's obviously fucking bullshit. That's a legal term.
