Transcript
- 0:00Hello there, it's time for Most Things Kenobi.
- 0:03Shouldn't it be all Things Kenobi?
- 0:19Hi everyone. Welcome to another episode of
- 0:21Most Things Kenobi, a podcast about Obi Wan Kenobi and all
- 0:24things Star Wars. I'm your host, Lauren.
- 0:28And I'm your host, Leanne. And we're wrapping up The
- 0:31Acolyte today. We are talking about the last
- 0:34two episodes, 7:00 and 8:00, and we are like rearing to go.
- 0:40I am pissed. Yeah, you sent me some a free
- 0:45text message, text messages after you watch it and I was
- 0:51like, I haven't watching. I'm like days behind you.
- 0:54I just watched it right before recording.
- 0:58And you're still processing. I am.
- 1:01That was a lot like I had watched episode 7 before, so
- 1:06it's very hard to record our last episode and not say.
- 1:09Anything true? Episode 7.
- 1:11But this I my feelings are still in an elevated state.
- 1:20I'm I'm a little in shock, a little in shock.
- 1:25I. Will, I would love to.
- 1:28I would absolutely love to talk about why I'm angry.
- 1:30I'm pissed at the Jedi. I am absolutely disheartened.
- 1:36I'm disappointed. I am.
- 1:39I am so mad. OK, stop.
- 1:43Spoiler alert, if you haven't seen the finale or any episode
- 1:47prior to the finale, don't go any further, OK?
- 1:49That's all we're giving you because I'm about to blow.
- 1:52How dare you, Venestra, How dare you?
- 2:00This is the problem with the Jedi.
- 2:02You cover up you You start with a lie, and then you cover it up
- 2:05with another lie, and then you got to cover up that lie with
- 2:08another lie, and on and on and on and on.
- 2:10And how dare you make poor Master Saul your scapegoat when
- 2:18all he tried to do was the right thing from the start.
- 2:23Did he make mistakes? Yeah.
- 2:24But he was willing to admit them in the start, and they started
- 2:29with a lie. And yeah, I'll be fucking
- 2:34damned. Fuck you, Jedi.
- 2:36Seriously. Yeah.
- 2:39I am so disappointed. I I just kind of trying to
- 2:44understand it still, like is, is she a Sith?
- 2:50Like is she a plant, Vernestra? OSHA oh Vernestra.
- 2:55Vernestra Because do you remember?
- 2:57There was something we had read, I cannot remember what episode
- 3:00it was, but there was something where I had done some research
- 3:04and there was something from Legends about how the Sith
- 3:08planted some people in the Jedi Order and started teaching all
- 3:13this weird stuff and got a bunch of Jedi to separate and like go
- 3:17out. Now I'm not saying that that's
- 3:18what's happening here but like my brain doesn't want to believe
- 3:23that the Jedi are this corrupt so I'm trying to explain it to
- 3:26myself by saying maybe she's like a Sith plant and all Jedi
- 3:31aren't this bad but like they were all lying even.
- 3:36Every single one of them. Carrie Ann Moss's character,
- 3:39which I cannot remember her name.
- 3:41Me neither. Even she was like.
- 3:44It started with her lie. We'll blame it on May.
- 3:49Yeah, yeah. To protect OSHA.
- 3:51And it's like, OK, it all kind of comes from a good place.
- 3:56Like they have good intentions, but isn't that the phrase the
- 4:00road to hell is paved with good intentions or something like
- 4:03that? Yeah.
- 4:07I find it very disturbing and I like, but I'm really struggling
- 4:17to accept that that's really what's happening, even though I
- 4:20know it is. I can believe it because I think
- 4:25that absolutely every organization I know under this,
- 4:30the moon and stars of this planet will do whatever they can
- 4:35to cover their own ass to make themselves look better.
- 4:38She already had the Senate on her ass.
- 4:41You know, and and think about it.
- 4:44When were the Jedi absolutely touted?
- 4:47When Palpatine was in control and he started a fucking war and
- 4:53needed the Jedi to play into his plans.
- 4:56Up until then, everybody was questioning them, you know,
- 4:59including witch covens and who didn't have anything to do with
- 5:03the Senate. And so I just think a lie
- 5:08required another lie required another lie and who they blamed
- 5:13May cuz she was allegedly dead and it was the perfect scapegoat
- 5:18that didn't work out. So she blames the other dead
- 5:22person in this case because they can't blame the other ones.
- 5:24The only one who was left who knew May and OSHA was Saul.
- 5:28Saul dies. We'll get to that.
- 5:33And I just think that it was a it was a cheap cover our ass and
- 5:39it's disgusting. I've been uncomfortable with
- 5:44Seoul the entire time. I really like him.
- 5:48I like the character a lot. I I think it's weird that he's
- 5:52so certain that he's right and did the right thing without
- 5:56really convincing anybody else that that was the case.
- 6:01And the fact that basically the entire time he is comfortable
- 6:07lying by omission. Oh yeah.
- 6:10And they all are like they do say overt lies and then with May
- 6:15or I'm sorry with OSHA, they just don't tell her the truth
- 6:19about everything. I mean, he meant to well.
- 6:24He said he always wanted to, but wanting to and doing it aren't
- 6:30the same thing. Yeah, that's right.
- 6:33That's right. Another good intention not
- 6:35followed through on I guess. Exactly.
- 6:39I will say it was fucking heartbreaking that as he's
- 6:41trying to explain she like starts to choke him right as he
- 6:46was about to say because I loved you, he got the part out and
- 6:51then she choked him. This is well.
- 6:54Terrible. Now, some could argue you could
- 6:58literally argue that, well, his love for her, his attachment,
- 7:01was his downfall. Yeah, but like when?
- 7:05What? What are we doing?
- 7:07Where did it come from? Also he didn't even know her
- 7:10before he was ready. He literally saw her in the
- 7:13forest for 30 seconds and was like, I need to rescue this
- 7:16child. Why?
- 7:18I don't know, I don't know. Yeah.
- 7:22So I enjoy the story. I think it's interesting.
- 7:25It was really good, but I'm not sure the motivation is
- 7:31established properly in the story.
- 7:34Like yes, Seoul clearly loved OSHA.
- 7:38He had an attachment. Like you just create an
- 7:40attachment out of nothing. OK, I guess I can buy that.
- 7:43Fine if you want to say maybe the force made you imprint on a
- 7:46person. But.
- 7:48Yeah, because there's that whole thing about the virgins and
- 7:51stuff. Which I said in like, what was
- 7:53it the first episode, whatever it was.
- 7:56Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you did.
- 8:00So I again, they referenced that, but they didn't explain
- 8:07that apparently there's a vergence on the planet and the
- 8:10mother created the daughters who are the same who have now
- 8:15switched positions, if you've noticed.
- 8:17And like again, interesting, but like, why explain it?
- 8:22Like what is this based on? What's it founded in like?
- 8:27Hurt and anger. She, she let all of her anger
- 8:30and hurt and, and everything I'm feeling for the Jedi currently
- 8:36go into killing, literally killing Saul.
- 8:40And she did it without a weapon. She killed the Jedi without a
- 8:44weapon, which Mae couldn't do Remember how?
- 8:47She was instructed Is it like so far fetched that you can use the
- 8:51force to choke people? If you could use it to block
- 8:55people and knock each other down, which is what they were
- 8:57doing, it's like has no one ever forced choked before?
- 9:04I don't know. I don't know.
- 9:06Like, I don't know, like where the Sith storyline's going.
- 9:09Obviously we saw a Plagueis there in The Cave, which you
- 9:12called. You inadvertently called when
- 9:16you said have you ever heard of Dark?
- 9:18Like I who knew? I did not.
- 9:23I had no idea. And then I saw that was one of
- 9:25the spoilers that I saw and I was like.
- 9:27Oh, well, I mean, I, I was like, oh, there he is.
- 9:32Oh, there, he's creepy. Creepy little.
- 9:35Hand coming around, that was. Yeah, totally.
- 9:38His face is fucked. We're just all over the place
- 9:41on. This I know whatever.
- 9:42Well, I know feelings, emotions. Or something.
- 9:45Oh, she puts the helmet on right And then?
- 9:48Yeah, what the fuck was all that with the eyes?
- 9:50He had the eyes of the witch. No, I don't know.
- 9:53It was. And he was like cast into the
- 9:57alternate reality that you see Torbin put into by the mother.
- 10:04I don't know. I couldn't tell if like this
- 10:07whole thing was constructed by Plagius.
- 10:10Like did he give OSHA the vision in the helmet and she just kind
- 10:14of like bled out into the her energy just like bled out around
- 10:18her or was like Plagius trying to keep the stranger from
- 10:22helping her get out of the helmet like.
- 10:25Maybe the way I interpreted it was that she her power in the
- 10:30force is through whatever the fuck the coven was connected to,
- 10:34how the the Mother could do that like they did to to Torbin.
- 10:41And so I thought, OK, well, her use of the force is kind of
- 10:46muddied because of how she was brought up in it.
- 10:49And so she was casting out that energy because it was just her
- 10:52in the force in, in the helmet. But it was her version of the
- 10:55force or her use of it or her manifestation of it.
- 10:59And it it, it got into Khamir the the stranger.
- 11:05Is it Khamir? I don't remember, honestly, I
- 11:08forgot to pick up his name. I guess I could look it up now.
- 11:12And no more spoilers now. True and and I don't think he
- 11:16knew what the fuck was going on, but he was able to like push it.
- 11:21He he pushed it out of his head, which Torbin didn't do the first
- 11:25time. Yeah.
- 11:28By the way, he can handle a lightsaber like like a fucking
- 11:31Hayden. He did the whippy thing that
- 11:33Hayden does. Who the stranger?
- 11:36Torbin. Or Torbin did, Yeah, honestly, I
- 11:39thought that whole sequence. Was gold lightsaber.
- 11:41That was very interesting, his whole like impatience and his
- 11:46desperate need to get the fuck out of there 'cause he was just
- 11:50had had enough, you know, it was, I thought that was really
- 11:54interesting. I enjoyed that.
- 11:56Yeah, he was great. He was great.
- 11:58He was a little Anakin like with his impatience.
- 12:01I could see it, but the way he handled that lightsaber, some of
- 12:05these fight scenes are really. Good, this this one to the last
- 12:09one between soul and the stranger.
- 12:12Holy shit that was. So good, so good, so good.
- 12:17And when the. Two lightsabers are flying
- 12:19through the air and soul. Yeah, that was fucking awesome.
- 12:24That was. Very Kenobiish.
- 12:26Yeah, Kenobi vibes from that same.
- 12:29He busted that out of nowhere. It was so good, so good.
- 12:32It was so good. It was.
- 12:34There was a lot of really good stuff in here.
- 12:36Yeah. A shame it all went to waste and
- 12:39then he turned into a fucking scapegoat.
- 12:41I'm pissed, sorry. No, I mean, that's where.
- 12:46I get over it. Too.
- 12:47I think it's it's deeply tragic. I don't have a problem with it
- 12:52as a story. I think it's more fascinating,
- 12:55but. It's that's, that's like why I
- 12:57texted you. I was like, it's not about like
- 12:59how they did it. It's what happened.
- 13:01It's not about the story. It's like what happened.
- 13:04Like, it's a good story. It's well constructed.
- 13:08I I ultimately, I would say I really liked it.
- 13:11Am I deeply crushed? Yeah.
- 13:14I would say I came away from this episode feeling pretty
- 13:17shitty. Yeah, yes, I think that was
- 13:20their goal 'cause I don't see, you know, correct us if we're
- 13:25wrong, but if you did not feel a deep sense of tragedy after this
- 13:29episode, please let us know. And please let us know why I
- 13:32would be curious. Not saying you're wrong, I'm
- 13:34just curious 'cause I think I'll go through the seven stages of
- 13:38like dealing with this. Grief and separation.
- 13:42Yeah, and like bargaining, please let Vernestra be a
- 13:46planted like you said, like these are all the feelings.
- 13:51Yeah, I'm, I'm. Also I have questions about why
- 13:57the mother when all of this was going down.
- 13:59This is in episode 7 the the redo of what happened the night
- 14:06at on Brendock. From the Jedi perspective.
- 14:09Yes. Why did she turn into that thin,
- 14:13black ghostly stuff? What was she about to do that
- 14:17Saul felt so necessary to like? Stab?
- 14:21I think she was going to wrap around the child.
- 14:24I think it was May, right? Who was there and like, yeah,
- 14:27take her into the force or like something to like disappear so
- 14:32that Saul couldn't take her. 'Cause the other one did this,
- 14:37she also went into like mm hmm, She went into the Wookie's body.
- 14:41Right. So they can like disembody
- 14:44themselves basically. But did they know?
- 14:47Did the Jedi know this about them?
- 14:49Because I didn't know that that's what they were gonna do.
- 14:52He didn't know that they were capable of that until he saw the
- 14:57the one who bared the children. I don't know her name with the
- 15:01horns. I'm terrible.
- 15:04I don't know. Anything the gorgeous mother he
- 15:08was there angry one with. Yeah, the angry one.
- 15:11He was there when she went into the Wookiee and like, started to
- 15:15control him. And then he had seen also that
- 15:18the the Mother had taken over Torbin's mind in front of all of
- 15:22them the night before. OK, so maybe he didn't know.
- 15:24Like maybe that was it to. What extent they would do that.
- 15:27But perhaps he was worried that like, they would go into the
- 15:32child and control the child and he didn't want to be forced to
- 15:35hurt the child. I don't know.
- 15:37I don't know why you would stab first.
- 15:39That seemed unnatural to me and not I wouldn't I?
- 15:42Because my reaction was why did you stab her?
- 15:45You didn't know she what she was gonna do.
- 15:47To kill her, Like, could we not just wound a person?
- 15:51Like, yeah, yeah, I, I do feel there's a few moments where soul
- 15:55goes right to an extreme reaction and there's been
- 16:00multiple moments where I'm like, that's not a very Jedi way to
- 16:04behave. However, our idea of the Jedi
- 16:06might be wrong considering all of this stuff that we've kind
- 16:10of, and I know we're not the only ones who feel this way.
- 16:12I've seen this in multiple places that people don't like
- 16:16the Acolyte because of how it's destroyed and shit on their idea
- 16:21of what the Jedi order. Is OK I will say.
- 16:25I will say I feel the same. However, I'm OK with something
- 16:31challenging a prior belief because it's realistic.
- 16:38Yeah, yeah. It's just fucking plain
- 16:41realistic. We're gonna have to judge on
- 16:45case by case basis, not as an organization.
- 16:48And that's what we should be doing anyway with large
- 16:50organizations, large assemblies of similar tastes, beliefs,
- 16:56etcetera. It's not the whole it's
- 16:58individuals, right? Like case by case like Obi Wan
- 17:02good, Anakin not good, Luke great.
- 17:07You know, like. Yeah, yeah.
- 17:10Was Yoda good? Well, we saw Yoda gets told
- 17:13something from Vernestra. Right, he's the last scene in
- 17:16the whole. So my question is, how much has
- 17:19Yoda known and how much has Yoda ignored?
- 17:22Well, and there's the the story from Clone Wars where Dave
- 17:28Filoni said maybe Yoda learned wars make not one great during
- 17:34the clone wars. So I'm, I'm not super quick to
- 17:42like write this off altogether because if Yoda is gonna exist
- 17:48all all the way through all of Star Wars that we know to date,
- 17:51right? So maybe these terrible mistakes
- 17:54that have been made are the reasons the Jedi are the way
- 17:58they are in the prequels. Maybe he's helped the
- 18:02organization learn from their mistakes and stop cover ups,
- 18:05Although they do try to cover. Up.
- 18:08In in Revenge of the Sith, even Yoda says like, we can't let
- 18:11this get out. It would be terrible if people
- 18:14found out, you know? So God forbid our our image be
- 18:18tarnished, we better tell a lie. Yeah, so.
- 18:23This is this is very realistic. I'm willing to accept something
- 18:27that's realistic, even if the challenge is something I deeply
- 18:30want to believe is true, which is that the Jedi were flawless
- 18:33individuals, which they weren't. Some of them were heroes, some
- 18:39of them were heroes and will always remain our heroes.
- 18:43Absolutely. I mean, heroes make mistakes.
- 18:46Obi Wan made mistakes. Yeah.
- 18:50And Luke made mistakes too, but they they cost him himself
- 18:53personally quite a lot, but not as much to people around him.
- 18:59I suppose maybe Han might argue differently, being caught on
- 19:02carbonite for a long. Time we're not arguing.
- 19:05We're not arguing with Han right now.
- 19:08I I do want to read something that resonated with me so deeply
- 19:13that I watched it three times and I told you I would like it
- 19:15on AT shirt or at least at least on a sticker so I could see it
- 19:20all the time. And I think this is the core of
- 19:24that episode and what the acolyte is attempting to do with
- 19:27the Jedi. And it's through Senator
- 19:29Rancourt's words, you know, the senator that was talking to
- 19:31Vernesta privately. Yes.
- 19:34And the conversation goes like this.
- 19:35I'm going to read the whole thing because it's so fucking
- 19:37good. And it, and it literally ends
- 19:40with the sentiment that I think a lot of people are not willing
- 19:43to face. Senator Rancourt says.
- 19:47You don't like me? You think my campaign for an
- 19:49external review of the Jedi is a personal vendetta?
- 19:52Vernestra says, If you want my honest opinion, yes, Senator
- 19:56says good, here's mine. I think the Jedi are a massive
- 19:59system of unchecked power posing as a religion, a delusional cult
- 20:03that claims to control the uncontrollable, Vernestra
- 20:06replies. We don't control the Force.
- 20:09Senator says not the force, your emotions.
- 20:12Now that's point number one. That was like yes, yes, not the
- 20:17force your emotions. OK, Senator then says you
- 20:21project an an image of goodness and restraint, but it's only a
- 20:26matter of time before one of you snaps and not when and when not.
- 20:31If that happens, who will be strong enough to stop him?
- 20:37Is this the prophecy? The prophecy's being made right
- 20:41now. Let me repeat it.
- 20:44It's only a matter of time before one of you snaps.
- 20:47And when not if that happens, who will be strong enough to
- 20:51stop him? Well, I will tell you Luke
- 20:54Skywalker. Now wouldn't it be nice though?
- 21:00I wouldn't expect this from Disney, that they're setting up
- 21:03a story where Luke stays the hero and isn't just some cranky
- 21:07old man in an island. Well, he's the hero.
- 21:11He is, whether Disney likes it or not, which I know they've
- 21:16been trying to be like. There's more to Star Wars than
- 21:18Skywalkers, but. Well, I'm sorry, but everything
- 21:21going on in the Acolyte goes right back to the Skywalkers.
- 21:23Sorry. Yeah, it's all like a a
- 21:26precursor to Anakin, basically. And it ends with this line,
- 21:32Senator tells Vernestra. The majority of my colleagues
- 21:35can't imagine a Galaxy without the Jedi, and I can understand
- 21:39why. When you're looking up to
- 21:41heroes, you don't have to face what's right in front of you.
- 21:45That's us. That's why it's hard for us to
- 21:50sit here when we look up to these people who are our heroes.
- 21:53I'm not talking about Lukens specifically.
- 21:55I'm talking about the Jedi as an organization.
- 21:58When we look up to them, it's hard for us to see the mistakes
- 22:02that they are actively making and have made throughout
- 22:06millennia. They're not the only ones.
- 22:09The Sith are not the only ones who made mistakes.
- 22:11Their mistakes are vastly different.
- 22:16OK, but lies are not OK, especially when you're throwing
- 22:21your own under the bus. Yeah.
- 22:25What Saul did not deserve that he got your pyre, Viking.
- 22:30Slight, slight. Did send off though, I
- 22:34appreciated that and like what's Oh well, I was gonna say what's
- 22:39the difference between her just telling the truth, but I guess
- 22:42that would reveal what may and OSHA and the the dark side of
- 22:48things, like, I mean white. Revealed that they went about
- 22:52all of this without consulting. They all made decisions on their
- 22:56own there. You know, all of this little
- 22:58action here and there was taken the original lie, which is by
- 23:01that woman the the female actor you've mentioned, what's her
- 23:04name? Oh, Cariane Moss.
- 23:06Yeah, should have. Never.
- 23:07She should have let Seoul talk to the Jedi, 'cause he said.
- 23:12I will go and stand before trial.
- 23:13I will go and talk to them. And she's like, no, we're going
- 23:17to tell them it's May. And they'd have been fine if May
- 23:20never came back to life. Yeah, they.
- 23:23'D still be living their lie and and scooting under the radar, et
- 23:26cetera. Did they hide the fact that OSHA
- 23:30was a virgins though? Is like that the main reason why
- 23:33they lied? Because they were afraid of what
- 23:35they would do when they found out OSHA was a virgins.
- 23:38And I will I will say I've I've really liked episode 7 a lot.
- 23:43I think it was really cool to see the same story from the
- 23:46other side and I really appreciated seeing that.
- 23:51Carrie Anne Moss's character was honestly not as bad as I thought
- 23:54she was. No, it even made.
- 23:57She tried. She.
- 23:58Tried. She tried to reason with him and
- 24:00explain like your emotions are getting the better of you.
- 24:04You're not thinking this through, you're reacting instead
- 24:07of thinking through this. And she was trying to like allow
- 24:12the girls to cheat and move on and was much more reasonable
- 24:17than I than they made her look. And the thing I like about that
- 24:21is that's how life really is. You know, when you're looking at
- 24:26it from the, the witch's perspective, these Jedi show up
- 24:29and they just start talking to you like they fucking own the
- 24:31place. You don't know the private
- 24:33conversations that they've been having where there's internal
- 24:36conflict in their group. And now we get to see it from
- 24:40the other perspective. Either way, I I really enjoyed
- 24:43Episode 7 and. Yeah, they didn't kill them the
- 24:48way that we thought, that we were fearing that it was a whole
- 24:51out bloody murder. It was more of like a a
- 24:54circumstantial clusterfuck, just one thing after another going
- 24:59wrong. And I think that's kind of a
- 25:01cool story. You know, there's like, here are
- 25:04four Jedi out on a mission in the forest collecting data and
- 25:08all of a sudden they stumble upon something and get neck deep
- 25:11into a shit show that now they've done all these mistakes
- 25:16and it's like it's a cover up. Yeah.
- 25:20And I think that's a cool idea. We don't really see that kind of
- 25:23stuff in Star Wars very often. I, I think maybe they're these
- 25:27four Jedi, like you said, their initial mistake was assuming
- 25:32that witches are bad, that they had any ill intent for these
- 25:35girls. When the mother said as she was
- 25:37dying, I was going to let OSHA go.
- 25:39I was going to let her go. Yeah, they.
- 25:41Didn't even give her a chance. Yeah, they just like jumped the
- 25:45gun on everything over and over. Witches are bad, they're going
- 25:48to hurt the girls. The witches are bad, they're
- 25:50going to hurt the girls. Well, hello.
- 25:52Maybe not. Well, still a mother.
- 25:55That the witches didn't trust the Jedi.
- 25:57Also they had their own bias against the Jedi, probably
- 25:59because they had a reputation, but still.
- 26:02Like if they had had the opportunity to sit down and
- 26:04speak civilly with each other as with everything, it's Star Wars.
- 26:08Like if there was just like a fucking conversation, this
- 26:11bloodbath would not have been necessary that.
- 26:16Is so true. Oh my God I'm so tired.
- 26:26I just OK. I feel for the witches.
- 26:29I do because they were, they shouldn't have gone in there
- 26:33like they did ask one of them to come down.
- 26:36You just don't invite yourself in like.
- 26:40Yeah, it's inappropriate and it's not diplomatic at all.
- 26:45Why can't you send a summons? They had that Little Beaver
- 26:49badger Gopher thing. Well, that was that was when
- 26:52they went back. Yeah, his present day, that
- 26:54character was so strange. I really love him, I do love
- 26:58him, but like he was the only one that made any good decisions
- 27:02out of the whole group. Yeah, like so He he.
- 27:05He cut the wires. The idea was that he was gonna
- 27:08kill May, right? Seoul was going to kill May and
- 27:11the Little Beaver guy stopped him from doing that, am I right?
- 27:14Yeah, that's what I took it as. Also that's those shots were
- 27:18really beautiful flying through that, like gritty.
- 27:20Yes. Like rock the like the ring.
- 27:25Yeah. But it was that was really
- 27:28pretty. That was really nicely done
- 27:30this. Whole show has been gorgeous, so
- 27:34well filmed and structured and the costumes, everything.
- 27:38I love it all. I love that like slowly May's
- 27:42costume became whiter and whiter and Osha's became darker and
- 27:46darker until they've completely flipped positions.
- 27:49I really love how we saw a bled crystal.
- 27:52Yeah, that was, I was like, they're making a statement by
- 27:56putting that in there. They're making it.
- 27:57That is the official way it's done.
- 28:00That was cool. That was very, very, very cool
- 28:04to see. I really loved all that.
- 28:06And I also loved the fact that Kamir's face was like, the fuck,
- 28:09I chose the wrong sister. But at the same time, OSHA is
- 28:15killing Saul. May is, like, smiling.
- 28:18She's like, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 28:21I got you girl. Do it.
- 28:23It's fucked up. I thought at some point they
- 28:27were going to merge in actually become one person.
- 28:30Well the did you notice they were fighting was absolutely
- 28:34mirrored. Now credit to everybody because
- 28:36to this day I don't know how they film one person doing two
- 28:39things. Like what?
- 28:42I mean? Credits to the actress for doing
- 28:452 roles, doing it believably, and doing it well enough that we
- 28:50discerned 2 completely different humans.
- 28:54Yeah, she did a great job. Fantastic job.
- 28:57But like they really are a mirror.
- 29:00So it is different than than Anakin.
- 29:03It it's different than Anakin. I think Plagueis is playing
- 29:06around with what? There's something going on
- 29:10there. He's playing around with it.
- 29:12It's the beginnings of what we know goes on.
- 29:16Yes. But we know that OSHA or May or
- 29:20whatever ends up happening has to kill Khmer because then it
- 29:24eventually trickles down like The Apprentice has to kill the
- 29:28master. And we know that only Palpatine
- 29:31kills Plagueis. So like, everyone's going to
- 29:33kill each other, which is great. It's on point, but.
- 29:37So Palpatine is Place's apprentice, right?
- 29:41But it's he's the last one. How old is Plagueis?
- 29:45Oh, he's super fucking old, which makes me think that's why
- 29:48come here. OK, so we know.
- 29:50We know now that my theory that Vernestra was his his master is.
- 29:55Oh yeah. Very true.
- 29:57You are 100% she. She absolutely is.
- 30:00Yes, well done. So either she's extremely
- 30:04fucking old and cause Kamir said he's very old.
- 30:10That he himself is, or that his master is.
- 30:13No, he said. He's very old.
- 30:15I thought that's what he said. Oh, I don't know.
- 30:18I don't know. I need to go back and I've only
- 30:20watched them one time each so I'd need to go back with a fine
- 30:22tooth comb but. I'm just wondering if there's
- 30:25some influence there and like the fuck's he doing creeping
- 30:30around a cave for? Well, and so he's Kamir's
- 30:33master, right? But Kamir hasn't told that it's
- 30:35gotta be. Yeah, right.
- 30:37Like that's, that's what's going on.
- 30:39Or is he just there fucking with people?
- 30:41I don't know. I don't know either, it's just.
- 30:44Creeping and lurking. And he may have a cave on the
- 30:47other side of the island. Let's.
- 30:49Go back to his own cave. He's got his own hot tub.
- 30:56Do you see him in there with a cocktail?
- 30:58Like, I'm just going to fuck around with this kid.
- 31:00Tell tell him to go get an acolyte and see what happens.
- 31:03Living his best life, Oh my God. He needs a facial while we're at
- 31:08it though. Oh my God, if it's spa day with
- 31:11Plagueis, we need a we need a facial involved because that
- 31:16face, oh Lord. Anyway.
- 31:18So when Vernestra was like interrupted, she was like on the
- 31:22phone kind of. And then her assistant came in.
- 31:26Was she trying to get in touch with Yoda or was she trying to
- 31:29like? I was almost wondering if it was
- 31:32like Plagueis that she was trying to reach or.
- 31:36You know what I'm I'll go with your theory.
- 31:40I'll also stop stuttering but I will go with your theory that
- 31:43maybe she's the like a planted but like at the same time I
- 31:49don't know. Yeah, I don't know.
- 31:54I like I couldn't believe it because she's very cold so she
- 32:00could go either way and if she was know she.
- 32:03Used that whip on Kamir. Yeah, know, she's clearly openly
- 32:07cruel to him. She's either gonna turn out to
- 32:10be, she's gonna be like Sever's Snape right where she is
- 32:14actually like so good that you're like, oh God, it's
- 32:17heartbreaking. Or she's some sort of Sith plant
- 32:21and she or she's just a really shitty Jedi.
- 32:23I don't know. I don't, I don't know.
- 32:28I don't know but they we need a season 2.
- 32:31I'm really disappointed that they didn't address it like her
- 32:36and Queer, but I'm also kind of glad 'cause now that means they
- 32:39can take more time to address it in season 2 and I really hope
- 32:43that they do. I'm.
- 32:45I'm really torn though about OSHA and May reuniting and then
- 32:52wiping May's memory and letting her get caught by the Jedi.
- 32:57But you don't know if he did it fully enough.
- 33:00We don't know what he did there. We don't know if it was a true
- 33:04Men in Black moment like Boom Flash.
- 33:07She's going to forget everything because that seems ridiculous
- 33:12and he might be duplicitous. Right and maybe it's a veil
- 33:16where it's not gone it's just covered you never know.
- 33:18But either way it like why did any of them have to get caught
- 33:23Like they could have all just run away and I don't I don't get
- 33:27why it just cuz May or I'm sorry cuz OSHA killed somebody with
- 33:30her mind that makes may untrainable.
- 33:36I don't know just cause the the rule is there's only two.
- 33:40Well there's already all three of you 'cause Plagueis is there
- 33:43Plagueis, Plagueis, whatever. So why not four?
- 33:46What's the big fucking difference like?
- 33:50The more the marry, yeah. Exactly.
- 33:52Start your own Sith Empire. Then then you turn into the
- 33:56Jedi. Nobody wants that.
- 34:02I don't know, I don't know like the weakest plot point where I'm
- 34:05not convinced that that's necessary, but I'm waiting to
- 34:08see if next season it will, it will actually like make more
- 34:14sense and be like a stronger plot point.
- 34:15But yeah, there's, I felt like a mix in this one.
- 34:19I really liked it. I liked everything that happened
- 34:21in the last two episodes. I thought it was really fucking
- 34:23cool. I'm not convinced all of it is a
- 34:25super tight plot, but I don't care 'cause I was entertained
- 34:28enough so. True.
- 34:31So as a whole season one, what would you rate it?
- 34:36How? How did you like it?
- 34:38Like out of one out of 1010 being great, Like excellent
- 34:41superior. I'd give it a solid 7 seven out
- 34:44of 10. Yeah.
- 34:47And that's based on enjoyment. Easy to follow, entertaining,
- 34:53good storyline. Not what I feel about things.
- 34:56My emotions are mine, you know, But I was definitely, I looked
- 35:04forward to every episode, which is a good sign.
- 35:07Yeah, I would probably give it an 8 out of 10.
- 35:10Yeah, 'cause I, I definitely, I really enjoyed it.
- 35:13Like you, I really looked forward to the episodes.
- 35:15I was excited to watch it. It was not a chore and I was
- 35:19entertained and like engaged the entire time.
- 35:21There wasn't really an episode where I felt bored or like this
- 35:24was taking too long. So.
- 35:28Yeah, no, I'm, I'm definitely it's definitely high.
- 35:31It's it's AB for me. ABA, solid BB plus.
- 35:35Considering I, I thought it was gonna be pretty stupid and
- 35:39didn't really care. I I liked it way more than most
- 35:42of the stuff that's been coming out lately.
- 35:44So yeah, I'm I'm excited for season 2.
- 35:47That'll be fun to see. I'm I'm interested to see where
- 35:51it goes. So I think we're in the same
- 35:53boat. We're space twinning.
- 35:54Of course, because that's what we do.
- 36:03Our question for you guys is what did you think of the

- 36:29going to be a little different, a little fun, a little lighter.
- 36:32Yeah, we're going to talk about, OK, Greek gods and goddesses as
- 36:39Jedi are sick. So just like we did with our
- 36:41seven deadly sins and seven virtues, we're going to come
- 36:45with a list of Greek gods and goddesses and have our choices
- 36:48for who we think most embodies that Greek God or goddess.
- 36:53So think Athena, Poseidon, Zeus, all of the ones that we have
- 36:59grown up talking about, reading about, etcetera.
- 37:02We're going to come with the Jedi and Sith version of our
- 37:05choice, with who we think embodies them the most.
- 37:07So a little different, but a little fun.
- 37:09We love these kind of like off the wall episodes.
