- 0:01In patanjali, yoga sutras there eight limbs or steps
- 0:06systematically presented as the basis for the practice of yoga.
- 0:10The first two of these known as young has and neom has present
- 0:15preliminary practices to purify and stabilize the being to
- 0:18prepare for the practice of yoga.
- 0:21Many people consider these to be moral precepts.
- 0:25But in reality they are simply ensuring that the, physical
- 0:29vital and mental being can effectively, hold and utilize
- 0:33the force without becoming imbalanced, or misusing the
- 0:38force for unintended purposes. Long experience has shown that
- 0:43failure to undertake this purification Tory activity can
- 0:47lead to Grievous harm and destroy the benefits of the
- 0:51yoga. A force.
- 0:52If it happens to come to the being at the conclusion of the
- 0:56Preparatory phase, the body will be solid and healthy.
- 1:01The vital force will be balanced and steady and able to hold and
- 1:06transmit. The more intense energies that
- 1:08result from the practice. And the mind will be clear and
- 1:13harmonious not getting disrupted or disturbed as it undergoes the
- 1:18pressure of the yogic process. A natural result of these
- 1:23practices is the creation of the status of being that one may
- 1:26call observational, rather than reactive the status permeates
- 1:32all the activities of life and is not restricted to a special
- 1:36time or function for yogic practice or meditation of some
- 1:40sort. Dr. Dalal observes quote,
- 1:45though, the different paths vary greatly in their methods and
- 1:48processes. Certain elements are common to
- 1:51them all one. Such Universal element is a
- 1:54certain preliminary cleansing or purification of the outer
- 1:58nature. Consisting of the physical
- 2:01vital, and mental Consciousness, and attempt to enter into the
- 2:05inner Consciousness, without adequately reading, the outer
- 2:09consciousness of its turbidity is up to fail.
- 2:14If at all one succeeds in some measure, one is most likely to
- 2:18be confused misled were overwhelmed by the experiences
- 2:23of the inner Consciousness, without a sufficient Foundation
- 2:27of a calm Purity in the outer being a second element, common
- 2:32to all Paths of inner growth consists in developing and in
- 2:36gathered attitude a state of inner concentration which
- 2:40progressively replaces the state of outer.
- 2:44Characteristic of the normal Consciousness, the in gathered
- 2:49state is most often sought to be inculcated through the practice
- 2:52of meditation. That is why too many people.
- 2:57The spiritual life is almost synonymous with the practice of
- 3:00meditation. The mother notes, when they
- 3:04think of the spiritual life, they immediately think of
- 3:07meditation. Such an attitude tends to lead
- 3:12to a false compartmentalization of Life, a division and
- 3:16antagonism between the spiritual life and the ordinary life.
- 3:22However, true, spirituality lives not in any form of
- 3:26practice, but in living in a certain State of Consciousness,
- 3:32pervading, all life and activities Meditation, in the
- 3:37sense of a set, practice is not indispensable for cultivating.
- 3:41Such a spiritual state of inner concentration, action and work.
- 3:46Done with the right Consciousness.
