- 0:00Speaker 1: A couple of days away from your birthday, unk, have
- 0:02Speaker 1: you been reflecting about something? Have you been thinking about
- 0:05Speaker 1: this thing?
- 0:05Speaker 2: Man?
- 0:07Speaker 1: No? Not actually, man, haven't really. I'm I'm you know,
- 0:10Speaker 1: I lived one day at a time. I don't get
- 0:13Speaker 1: too far ahead of myself. It'll be most like any
- 0:18Speaker 1: other birthday, though, I'll wake up and fill with gratitude
- 0:21Speaker 1: because I made it. It's a bit we're getting them
- 0:23Speaker 1: to them. We aren't in big numbers now though. Yeah,
- 0:27Speaker 1: we aren't in big numbers now. So like like now,
- 0:32Speaker 1: you know what's crazy? Man. The older you get and
- 0:38Speaker 1: the longer you live, the more people you've known, you
- 0:43Speaker 1: see you see gone? Yes, man, I got four let
- 0:51Speaker 1: me see four one two. I got five frat brothers
- 0:58Speaker 1: from nineteen seventy four that ain't even here no more.
- 1:04Speaker 1: My line brother gone. Dude I pledged with is gone.
- 1:10Speaker 1: It's crazy, man. And so you know, as much as
- 1:16Speaker 1: I miss him, I'm glad I'm still here, I mean, man.
- 1:21Speaker 1: And you know, as we all know, because all of
- 1:24Speaker 1: us have suffered losses on this show, you can lose
- 1:28Speaker 1: some people that's so dear to you, man, so very
- 1:31Speaker 1: dear to you, and you can miss them dearly. But
- 1:35Speaker 1: you still have to be grateful that you still here.
- 1:39Speaker 1: And you know, it almost sounds like you know, and
- 1:44Speaker 1: you know, man, like you hear about somebody passing and
- 1:49Speaker 1: you feel remorse and grief and all like that, and
- 1:52Speaker 1: then there's a joy because I'm still here. It almost
- 2:00Speaker 1: sounds a little weird like, man. But you know, I mean, man,
- 2:07Speaker 1: I'm just grateful that I remain healthy. I'm grateful that
- 2:09Speaker 1: He's given me a life of longevity. You know. I
- 2:13Speaker 1: wish that some of these people were still here, but
- 2:16Speaker 1: that was God's call. And you know, some of the
- 2:19Speaker 1: guys didn't take care of their self. Some of the
- 2:21Speaker 1: guys ignored doctor's appointments. If I could say anything to
- 2:26Speaker 1: brothers listening to me, Man, go to the doctor, get
- 2:31Speaker 1: yourself checked out. That old, that old, that old. I
- 2:36Speaker 1: don't want to know that. That can cost you. Man
- 2:40Speaker 1: that oh I don't feel like getting probed and picked on.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And hey man, that stuff can cost you. You know, Man,
- 2:49Speaker 1: many times we've heard an ounce of prevention is worth
- 2:51Speaker 1: a pound of cure. Go to the doctor. I went
- 2:54Speaker 1: to the doctor yesterday, man, I mean not yesterday, but recently,
- 2:57Speaker 1: over the past week or so, past two weeks. I
- 3:00Speaker 1: went to the doctor and I was concerned about something,
- 3:06Speaker 1: and I didn't want to go because I've had this
- 3:08Speaker 1: concern before and resulted in surgery, and I was having
- 3:12Speaker 1: the same feeling again and I just didn't feel like
- 3:15Speaker 1: that surgery. So I was praying about it, praying about it,
- 3:19Speaker 1: worrying about it. I mean, I was worried about man.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I was concerned, so I said, mall, let me go
- 3:23Speaker 1: on going down here. So I went to the doctor.
- 3:26Speaker 1: My doctor was out of town because it was over
- 3:29Speaker 1: the holidays, but the test I had to run and
- 3:32Speaker 1: he had competent people in there could do the test.
- 3:34Speaker 1: So we did the test and the nurse was asking
- 3:38Speaker 1: me some questions while we're doing the test. And the
- 3:41Speaker 1: results came back and what I thought was wrong wasn't
- 3:44Speaker 1: wrong at all. It was a version of it, but
- 3:48Speaker 1: a lot less. It didn't require surgery, and so I
- 3:51Speaker 1: had to take a pill, and Man, I felt so
- 3:55Speaker 1: grateful being able to just take that pill. Man opposed
- 4:00Speaker 1: to surgery, But had I not gone, the condition would
- 4:05Speaker 1: have worsened and worsened, and I've had a bigger problem
- 4:10Speaker 1: than the problem I had when I had to get surgery. Brothers.
- 4:13Speaker 1: You got to go to the doctor. I know you
- 4:16Speaker 1: don't like that prostate exam, but if you go regular enough,
- 4:20Speaker 1: they got ways around that too. But you have got
- 4:23Speaker 1: to go to the doctor. You have got to get
- 4:25Speaker 1: this prostate exam. Man, that little three to four seconds
- 4:31Speaker 1: of uncomfortableness. I had one dude talking about. Man, it's
- 4:35Speaker 1: just like the longest three minutes of my life. I said,
- 4:38Speaker 1: three minutes. What? No, what's happening down at your office?
- 4:46Speaker 1: The prostate exam is not a three minute things three
- 4:49Speaker 1: to five seconds. If it's three minutes, you could file
- 4:52Speaker 1: some charges. You yeah, man, something else happened. No, no, really,
- 4:58Speaker 1: you get to file some charges. You need to go
- 5:01Speaker 1: down there. He's somebody getting a rest, but you got
- 5:07Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but you can't. No really, but black dudes, man,
- 5:13Speaker 1: we avoid the doctor. That old macho stuff. Y'all got
- 5:17Speaker 1: to go to the doctor. Man. You got to go
- 5:21Speaker 1: to the doctor. Get your EKG. You're feeling something going
- 5:24Speaker 1: on with your heart, go to your cardiologist. Go get
- 5:28Speaker 1: a yearly, a physical exam. Get yourself checked out, man,
- 5:32Speaker 1: so you can stay here. I've lost some friends simply
- 5:37Speaker 1: be caused by the time they found that it was
- 5:40Speaker 1: too late. Don't let that happen to you. Man, Go
- 5:44Speaker 1: to the doctor so you can have as many birthdays
- 5:47Speaker 1: as you possibly can. Those are my closing remarks. Enjoy
- 5:50Speaker 1: yourself today. Talk to God today. He would love to
- 5:53Speaker 1: help help me. He would. If your prostate exam is
- 5:57Speaker 1: three minutes long, call somebody.
