- 6:55Speaker 2: I see it.
- 6:56Speaker 3: The missing chapter Lee Harvey Oswalt in the Far East.
- 7:01Speaker 2: It's a pretty thick boy subject matter.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Yeah, and some of our members will know that we
- 7:09Speaker 3: went over the very beginning of the preface on the
- 7:13Speaker 3: Wednesday show and very interesting stuff. And I heard you say,
- 7:20Speaker 3: because I had to leave a couple of minutes early
- 7:21Speaker 3: to get my to go to my hockey game. I
- 7:24Speaker 3: heard you say at the end you ordered it and
- 7:26Speaker 3: you will tell me later and it will.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Arrive on I will tell you just from perusing there's
- 7:34Speaker 2: not much substance. It's not much substance to this book.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Despite its thickness. It is a lot of pictures and
- 7:42Speaker 2: documents and I mean a lot, a.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Lot documents of like Atsugi Shenigans type of like you
- 7:54Speaker 3: name it. I mean it's in here, bro yes, swipe
- 8:01Speaker 3: the author.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:02Speaker 2: I'm not saying there's not some writing in this book
- 8:05Speaker 2: you know, to read, because there is a little bit.
- 8:08Speaker 2: But I guarantee you out of two hundred and sixty
- 8:11Speaker 2: nine pages in this book, two hundred and thirty nine
- 8:15Speaker 2: of them might be documents their pictures for photos. But
- 8:19Speaker 2: you know they're full size reproductions. You don't have to
- 8:22Speaker 2: squint to read them. You know, they're nice, nice, big,
- 8:25Speaker 2: nice big shit like this, you know, mm hmm. Yeah.
- 8:31Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:33Speaker 2: So that's a U two spy plane in at Sugi
- 8:35Speaker 2: in nineteen fifty nine landing.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Yeah. And just to let the audience know, Jack Swike,
- 8:42Speaker 3: the author, was an intelligence officer in at Sugi and
- 8:46Speaker 3: ended up interviewing a ton of people at the base
- 8:51Speaker 3: that knew Lee Harvey Oswald and Larry Hancock holds his
- 8:57Speaker 3: opinions in high regard, at least for that period in
- 9:01Speaker 3: least life so very interesting. And uh, I got to
- 9:06Speaker 3: read the rest of it, bro, I have brothers.
- 9:10Speaker 2: I mean it was fourteen bucks brand new. I mean, no,
- 9:13Speaker 2: shipping can't beat that because the used ones were about
- 9:18Speaker 2: the same with shipping, so I whant to get a
- 9:21Speaker 2: new one and it was here and what two days
- 9:25Speaker 2: a day?
- 9:25Speaker 3: Two days than forty eight hours? For sure.

- 12:22Speaker 2: Yes, so uh a lot of cafoos on Wednesday night.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Yeah, if you want more of the triple being the job,
- 12:31Speaker 3: definitely Hird become a covert operator or a spook for

- 12:43Speaker 3: mister Timothy Ryan, what's not my good people? Hey, Joeyne Robb,
- 12:49Speaker 3: I already said a load of James and we are

- 13:00Speaker 2: going to be a good one. Tye, tye ho ho, Yeah, yep,
- 13:10Speaker 2: get out the hot sauce for this one. For sure.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Our first little tale, Joe, I'm gonna split the stage
- 13:21Speaker 2: a little bit of a story about Lee Harvey Oswald
- 13:24Speaker 2: that I'd never heard before. And I'm surprised I've never
- 13:29Speaker 2: heard it before because it's a couple of my two
- 13:32Speaker 2: favorite topics, Lee Harvey Oswald of course and LSD. Okay. Now,
- 13:47Speaker 2: this is a written statement given to Jim Garrison from
- 13:55Speaker 2: the former assistant d District attorney who was the assistant
- 14:07Speaker 2: district attorney in nineteen sixty three when the assassination happened.
- 14:11Speaker 2: This man's name was Edward Gillen, and this statement is crazy.
- 14:22Speaker 2: RI interview with Lee Harvey Oswald all right. It was
- 14:27Speaker 2: in the month of July or early August nineteen sixty
- 14:31Speaker 2: three when I had an occasion to speak with Lee
- 14:34Speaker 2: Harvey Oswald. I'm an assistant District attorney for the Parish
- 14:37Speaker 2: of Orleans, in charge of the Juvenile Division, with offices
- 14:41Speaker 2: in the Civil Courts Building next to City Hall at
- 14:44Speaker 2: four twenty one Loyola Street. When the occasion referred to above,
- 14:48Speaker 2: this person came into the office and asked to speak
- 14:50Speaker 2: to the district attorney. I was on duty at the
- 14:53Speaker 2: time and informed him that I was an assistant district
- 14:55Speaker 2: attorney was available to speak with him. We came into
- 14:59Speaker 2: the private office and he stood across the desk and
- 15:02Speaker 2: remained standing, although I invited him to sit down. He
- 15:06Speaker 2: asked if I could advise him on whether or not
- 15:07Speaker 2: a particular drug was illegal or legal. This was his
- 15:12Speaker 2: first question, to say the least. I was greatly surprised
- 15:16Speaker 2: by the question, and my first reaction was to ask
- 15:18Speaker 2: him why he was interested in determined whether a drug
- 15:20Speaker 2: was legal or illegal, That if a drug otherwise illegal
- 15:25Speaker 2: was prescribed by a physician, it would be unimportant for
- 15:28Speaker 2: him to determine this, that he would certainly have the
- 15:31Speaker 2: right to use it if prescribed by his doctor, and
- 15:34Speaker 2: that he should consult his physician regarding the saying, I
- 15:38Speaker 2: again asked him to be seated, as I thought at
- 15:41Speaker 2: this point I would like to develop this line of
- 15:43Speaker 2: questioning further, not only because of the unusual inquiry, but
- 15:47Speaker 2: because of his demeanor upon entry into the office, which
- 15:51Speaker 2: gave every indication of emotional disturbance and lack of personal
- 15:56Speaker 2: conviction or a sense of security. He again declined. At
- 16:01Speaker 2: this time I asked for his name, and he declined
- 16:04Speaker 2: to give me this information, saying it was unimportant. Became
- 16:09Speaker 2: more convinced that I should do everything possible to determine
- 16:11Speaker 2: what I could do about this individual and his true
- 16:14Speaker 2: reason for such an unusual inquiry. I thought I would
- 16:18Speaker 2: make conversation in order to elicit further information from I
- 16:22Speaker 2: advised him that I was not an expert on drugs.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Mind you, that the Narcotics Division of the DA's office
- 16:30Speaker 2: was at Tulane and Broad Street. That he was in
- 16:33Speaker 2: the juvenile division of the District Attorney's office. That whereas
- 16:37Speaker 2: I felt I knew most of the community or most
- 16:40Speaker 2: of the commonly used drugs by name, anyway, I could
- 16:42Speaker 2: certainly not speak on him as an expert. I asked
- 16:45Speaker 2: him for the name of the drug to which he
- 16:47Speaker 2: was referring. I recalled that I had never heard of it.
- 16:51Speaker 2: But the can I recall the name which he used
- 16:54Speaker 2: at this moment? He says, I since found out that
- 16:59Speaker 2: it was LSD, or remember that it with LSD. I
- 17:03Speaker 2: again asked him to sit down, which he declined to
- 17:05Speaker 2: do for the third time. All the time I was
- 17:08Speaker 2: observing him very closely. He was ill at ease, always
- 17:11Speaker 2: looking down, shifting from foot to foot, and apparently preoccupied
- 17:16Speaker 2: with his own thoughts. He kept saying he must determine
- 17:19Speaker 2: the existence of such a drug and whether it was
- 17:21Speaker 2: legal or illegal. In the juvenile court, we are accustomed
- 17:26Speaker 2: to interview and many persons who are neurotic or emotionally disturbed,
- 17:30Speaker 2: and it becomes second nature to pick out such persons
- 17:32Speaker 2: after engaging them in conversation. For a few minutes and
- 17:35Speaker 2: letting them do the talking. At this point, Oswald said
- 17:39Speaker 2: he was reading a book, and in this book, the
- 17:41Speaker 2: author stated that if the reader could procure and use
- 17:43Speaker 2: this peculiar drug, the reader would be able to see
- 17:46Speaker 2: the future as he the author had seen and envisioned it.
- 17:52Speaker 2: And then and only then would the reader see that
- 17:54Speaker 2: the views and conclusions of the author were correct. Seeing
- 17:58Speaker 2: that the conversation was banding a bit and communication was
- 18:01Speaker 2: becoming more fastile with this individual, I asked him again
- 18:05Speaker 2: to sit down for the fourth fucking time, and he
- 18:08Speaker 2: finally did. At this point I conjectured that his problem,
- 18:13Speaker 2: and therefore the reason for his inquiry, had something to
- 18:17Speaker 2: do with his sexual experience and stimulation. If you know
- 18:20Speaker 2: what I'm saying, the majority of our cases in the
- 18:23Speaker 2: juvenile court, wearing emotional disturbance is displayed has something to
- 18:27Speaker 2: do with a sex problem. I asked him whether or
- 18:31Speaker 2: not the book had anything to do with sex or
- 18:33Speaker 2: response and benefit of drugs as a stimulus. He answered no,
- 18:38Speaker 2: but rather this subject was a matter of the book
- 18:40Speaker 2: had to do with the socioeconomic picture of the world
- 18:44Speaker 2: five hundred years in the future. Then he went into
- 18:46Speaker 2: a rapid chatter spiel. Perhaps would be more accurate that
- 18:57Speaker 2: a person was just a number point. He spoke so
- 19:01Speaker 2: rapidly that I did not see any great content in
- 19:04Speaker 2: what he was saying. I became disinterested in what he
- 19:07Speaker 2: was saying. Actually, however, what stuck with me the most
- 19:13Speaker 2: when he was chattering or speeling was that he was
- 19:16Speaker 2: apparently emotionally detached from the subject matter itself. In other words,
- 19:21Speaker 2: he did not give the impression it won't experience any
- 19:23Speaker 2: deep or abiding personal convictions. I recall vividly that I
- 19:29Speaker 2: had the distinct impression that he was no intellectual carried
- 19:32Speaker 2: away with this personal conviction, but rather a pseudo intellectual
- 19:36Speaker 2: who lacked and who was devoid of any capacity for
- 19:38Speaker 2: true intellectuation. Josephation, Yeah, I mean, we have some deep,
- 19:48Speaker 2: deep ass New Orleans shit, now, boy, all right. The
- 19:53Speaker 2: point I'm trying to convey is that when he related
- 19:56Speaker 2: the content of the book and therefore his reason for
- 19:58Speaker 2: the inquiry as to the use of the drug, he
- 20:00Speaker 2: was demonstrate a superimposed in doctrine nation in which he
- 20:04Speaker 2: had no self identification. He was spouting words, phrases, cliches
- 20:09Speaker 2: without true comprehension and without personal persuasiveness as you might
- 20:13Speaker 2: expect of someone who was a dedicated advocate of cause.
- 20:17Speaker 2: It sticks in my mind that he was a person
- 20:19Speaker 2: possessed of a very limited degree of self expressionism and
- 20:21Speaker 2: self communication, without personal drive or aggressiveness, without the capacity
- 20:26Speaker 2: of total dedication to any calls. I have interrupted the
- 20:30Speaker 2: narrative as to the content of my interview with him
- 20:32Speaker 2: in order that I better relate my personal impressions of
- 20:35Speaker 2: this man at the time, rather than the product of
- 20:38Speaker 2: reflections developed at a later date and possibly influenced by
- 20:42Speaker 2: momentous events which was soon to take place. Getting back
- 20:45Speaker 2: to the interview proper, I last stated that I became
- 20:48Speaker 2: disinterested in the subject matter of the book itself and
- 20:50Speaker 2: sought a way to conclude the interview. I sought again
- 20:54Speaker 2: to determine his identity and asked him, what did you
- 20:56Speaker 2: say your name was? Again, I cannot recall what he
- 20:59Speaker 2: said his full name was, but I can clearly recall
- 21:02Speaker 2: that Oswald was a part of it, because at the
- 21:04Speaker 2: time I related the name Oswald in my mind to
- 21:09Speaker 2: that of a comedian or character many years ago on
- 21:12Speaker 2: the Milton Borough Radio show. This radio character was a
- 21:17Speaker 2: moron or a dull wit character as we would describe
- 21:20Speaker 2: as a nut today. For this reason, I distinctly retained
- 21:24Speaker 2: in my memory the name Oswald. I sought again to
- 21:27Speaker 2: determine the book he was reading, and he said it
- 21:29Speaker 2: was Huxley's The Brave New World. I told him that
- 21:34Speaker 2: if a drug could produce the kind of effects of
- 21:37Speaker 2: you of five hundred years into the future, I thought
- 21:39Speaker 2: it would definitely be a strong narcotic or narcotic derivative. However,
- 21:44Speaker 2: since I was not an expert on the subject, he
- 21:46Speaker 2: see his damn doctor consult the DA's office at two
- 21:49Speaker 2: Laney Broad Street or the City Chemist in the adjoining
- 21:52Speaker 2: City Hall. That's where he needed to go. The City Chemist.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:59Speaker 2: I remember calling it in the City Chemist's office later
- 22:01Speaker 2: in the day to inquire further about this individual, but
- 22:04Speaker 2: on two occasions I was unable to reach anyone in
- 22:06Speaker 2: this office. They were probably off tripping somewhere. I did
- 22:09Speaker 2: not give any further thought to this interview, but it
- 22:12Speaker 2: lingered in my mind. At the time I spoke with
- 22:14Speaker 2: this individual. He was wearing a white T shirt and
- 22:17Speaker 2: brown khaki pants. He had a paper bound book in
- 22:21Speaker 2: his hand. It was all rolled up I did ask
- 22:23Speaker 2: him whether or not the book in his hand was
- 22:25Speaker 2: the book to which he was referring to, and his
- 22:27Speaker 2: answer was no. On the night of President Kennedy's assassination,
- 22:32Speaker 2: at eleven thirty PM possibly later, I was preparing for
- 22:35Speaker 2: bed and had the TV on in the bedroom. WDSU
- 22:39Speaker 2: had a replay of a tape audio interview with Oswald
- 22:42Speaker 2: which had been taped from an earlier radio show on
- 22:44Speaker 2: the Close Up program when Lee Harvey Oswald was a
- 22:48Speaker 2: speaker on the subject of the Free Cuba movement. While
- 22:52Speaker 2: my back was turned to the TV, I was listening
- 22:54Speaker 2: to the voice of Lee Harvey Oswald from the tape.
- 22:57Speaker 2: I did not particularly concern myself with a voice until
- 23:00Speaker 2: I heard the same spiel and chatter type expressions which
- 23:04Speaker 2: I had heard in my office several months before. I
- 23:07Speaker 2: was very keen. I have a very keen sense of
- 23:10Speaker 2: identifying voices because of a slight handicap which I have,
- 23:14Speaker 2: and can identify voices out of the past much more
- 23:17Speaker 2: accurately than most others people are.
- 23:26Speaker 1: I don't know what that is.
- 23:28Speaker 2: There was no doubt in my mind, based on the
- 23:30Speaker 2: voice identification alone, that the subject matter and presentation thereof
- 23:35Speaker 2: that the person who had seen me in the juvenile
- 23:37Speaker 2: court as above narrated, the person of Lee Harvey Oswald
- 23:42Speaker 2: was the guest speaker on the close off show tape
- 23:44Speaker 2: and then later presented again on the knight of President
- 23:46Speaker 2: Kennedy's assassination, were one and the same person. I became
- 23:51Speaker 2: convinced of this before turning around and viewing the TV screen,
- 23:54Speaker 2: and when I did, the tape was still being played,
- 23:57Speaker 2: but the picture of Lee Harvey Oswald was also displayed
- 23:59Speaker 2: on the television screen. His facial features were the same
- 24:03Speaker 2: as the man I interviewed later in the program that
- 24:06Speaker 2: gave his physical description as to size and weight, color, hair, etc.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Which all checked out and corroborated my prior identification. I
- 24:17Speaker 2: contacted the FBI and gave this statement to them. I
- 24:20Speaker 2: gave this statement to an agent. I suggested that I'd
- 24:23Speaker 2: be willing to make a written statement, but a verbal
- 24:25Speaker 2: statement seemed to be all that the agent believed necessary.
- 24:29Speaker 2: He said he would contact me again if the content
- 24:31Speaker 2: of my statement developed as a matter of some importance.
- 24:34Speaker 2: No one else has contacted me by the way of
- 24:36Speaker 2: follow up to my original statement to an agent of
- 24:39Speaker 2: the FBI. As a passing comment. I observed in the
- 24:42Speaker 2: press the following morning that Outus Huxley, the author of
- 24:47Speaker 2: the book that Lee Harvey Oswald was inquiring about, had
- 24:50Speaker 2: died in California of mouth cancer. Maybe it was a drug.
- 24:55Speaker 2: I'm not sure, but this is likely that he died
- 24:58Speaker 2: on the same day as President Kennedy. This would be
- 25:01Speaker 2: a irony of fate if any portion of the above
- 25:05Speaker 2: statement had material bearing at all whatsoever on the President
- 25:10Speaker 2: Kennedy assassination. Respectfully. Edward G. Gillen, Assistant District Attorney for
- 25:17Speaker 2: the perilous Parish of Orleans. Holy shit.
- 25:28Speaker 3: I mean, we know Oswald was a bookworm right, right,
- 25:32Speaker 3: And we know he checked out Brave New World, I
- 25:34Speaker 3: believe based on our episode on Oswalt's books, right.
- 25:38Speaker 2: And he was voraciously reading the Summer of sixty three,
- 25:42Speaker 2: Yes she was. But he chose to go into a DA,
- 25:46Speaker 2: a District attorney's office and ask them about LSD like
- 25:51Speaker 2: he wanted to do it, like he was intrigued enough
- 25:57Speaker 2: to want to do it, right. That's crazy.
- 26:01Speaker 3: I'd never heard that story I had it either. Very interesting.
- 26:05Speaker 3: It makes you think of because you know some of
- 26:08Speaker 3: the allegations of Atsugi was one of the places where
- 26:13Speaker 3: you know, ce I experimented with acid on some people.
- 26:18Speaker 3: Based on that, Oswald probably didn't do LSD in Japan
- 26:24Speaker 3: if he's so intrigued there. Yeah, just something that came
- 26:29Speaker 3: to my mind. I have no idea, or maybe he
- 26:31Speaker 3: did it and wanted more and pretended he did. It's
- 26:37Speaker 3: funny because he's like I, He's like, can I get
- 26:39Speaker 3: a note from my doctor saying I could try LST.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I mean, if the doctor says it's okay, it's okay
- 26:49Speaker 2: at that point that at that time it wasn't illegal.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Yeah, at that time, it was barely even known except
- 26:59Speaker 3: for to few people. So it also makes you think
- 27:02Speaker 3: how I didn't even know about it.
- 27:04Speaker 2: I'm just telling you what Gilan's writing. James, I don't know, bro, Yeah,
- 27:09Speaker 2: I don't know. It's been a very long time since
- 27:12Speaker 2: I've read those books, like a very long time. Yeah.
- 27:24Speaker 2: All right, So let's get into someone of Oswald's movements
- 27:27Speaker 2: in New Orleans during the summer of sixty three, because
- 27:31Speaker 2: Joe I hinted this on the Wednesday Show that I
- 27:34Speaker 2: had an epiphany right, very cryptically, Yes, I came across
- 27:39Speaker 2: some things and I had an epiphany, because one thing
- 27:42Speaker 2: that's always puzzled me is, you know, what in the
- 27:49Speaker 2: hell was going on in New Orleans in the summer
- 27:52Speaker 2: sixty three, right right? Because I think if you, if
- 27:58Speaker 2: you can figure that out, it'll shed some light about
- 28:02Speaker 2: what happened in Dallas, you know, if you can figure
- 28:04Speaker 2: out what these guys were up to and who was
- 28:07Speaker 2: doing what.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, So.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Let's start with the what. Oswald got fired from Riley
- 28:18Speaker 2: Coffee Company on July nineteenth, and he left for Mexico
- 28:22Speaker 2: allegedly on September twenty fifth. So the two month period
- 28:30Speaker 2: in between is what we're talking about here. This is
- 28:33Speaker 2: the fuzzy part.
- 28:36Speaker 7: Now.
- 28:36Speaker 2: According to Marina, when she was interviewed on November twenty eighth,
- 28:39Speaker 2: nineteen sixty three, by FBI agent's Hypman and bought Bogus
- 28:45Speaker 2: Laar Missus Oswald, was asked what Oswald did during the
- 28:49Speaker 2: time he was unemployed, and this is what she said.
- 28:53Speaker 2: He sat around the house all day reading. She said.
- 28:56Speaker 2: He read so much she often wondered why he did
- 28:59Speaker 2: not get sores from sitting on his ass so much.
- 29:05Speaker 2: She said. Oswald visited the library regularly in New Orleans,
- 29:09Speaker 2: where he checked out books, mostly on history, but he
- 29:12Speaker 2: also read books by Hemingway, Jack London and remark. She
- 29:16Speaker 2: said that she cannot accurately recall, but she believed that
- 29:19Speaker 2: Oswald went to the library and checked out books the
- 29:22Speaker 2: day before missus Payne arrived to move them to Texas.
- 29:27Speaker 2: She said Oswald went every Tuesday and then went to
- 29:30Speaker 2: pick up his unemployment check.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Hey, Oswald knew how to work the system. You could
- 29:38Speaker 3: say whatever you want about Oswald, but he did know
- 29:40Speaker 3: how to work the system.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Damn right, he got his welfare or I'm sorry, unemployment check.
- 29:46Speaker 3: He annoyed everyone so much going back to Russia, the
- 29:50Speaker 3: state department, that they were just like, all right, let's
- 29:52Speaker 3: just give it to him. He just kept writing them, relentless, relentless.
- 29:57Speaker 3: He was.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Now, what marinad just told them doesn't really match up
- 30:06Speaker 2: with what she told Jay Lee Rankin and the Warrant Commission.
- 30:12Speaker 2: And this is the following is an exchange that occurred
- 30:15Speaker 2: on September sixth, nineteen sixty four. Rankon asked her, Marina,
- 30:21Speaker 2: when you lived in her.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Second interview, right, because she was interviewed in February. It's
- 30:27Speaker 3: been with James River Martin.
- 30:28Speaker 2: So the Warren report came out on a week later
- 30:31Speaker 2: after this, so I don't think this was this made
- 30:34Speaker 2: the cut, but.
- 30:35Speaker 3: Maybe they were trying to type some of loose sunds. Sorry,
- 30:37Speaker 3: it was just that date like didn't make sense to
- 30:40Speaker 3: me really, but it's heart sir.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Uh.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Yeah, this is what she told jay Lee Rankin. He says,
- 30:50Speaker 2: when you lived in New Orleans and after your husband
- 30:52Speaker 2: lost his job, did he stay away from home in
- 30:54Speaker 2: the evenings much? And Marina said, he was not at
- 30:58Speaker 2: home during the daytime, but he was at home most
- 31:02Speaker 2: of the time in the evenings, which clearly contradicts what
- 31:08Speaker 2: she told the FBI six days after the assassination. Okay,
- 31:15Speaker 2: his follow up question is, and by being at home
- 31:17Speaker 2: in the evenings, what time do you mean like from
- 31:19Speaker 2: six o'clock or seven o'clock or what time? She said
- 31:22Speaker 2: he wouldn't be home until after seven. So she tells
- 31:30Speaker 2: the FBI he sat around the house so much, she's
- 31:33Speaker 2: surprising gets sores on his ass. And now she's telling
- 31:37Speaker 2: Rankin that he wasn't at home all day and didn't
- 31:41Speaker 2: come home until after seven, right, right? And he said,
- 31:46Speaker 2: did he ever show any signs if having been drinking
- 31:48Speaker 2: or being drunk when he came home, and she says,
- 31:50Speaker 2: never right, we'll checks out yep. So July twenty seventh,
- 32:02Speaker 2: Oswald and Marina make a little trip with the Marets
- 32:05Speaker 2: to Mobile, Alabama.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Say the day guns, sir, I'm sorry I missed it.
- 32:10Speaker 2: July twenty seventh, sixty three, Yeah, okay, to the Jesuit
- 32:15Speaker 2: House of Studies in Mobile, Alabama. They returned to New
- 32:21Speaker 2: Orleans the following day, on July twenty eighth, nineteen sixty three.
- 32:28Speaker 2: On May twenty seventh, nineteen sixty three, Oswald got a
- 32:31Speaker 2: library card from the Napoleon branch of the New Orleans
- 32:35Speaker 2: Library System.
- 32:39Speaker 3: Yeah, as we went over in the episode.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Checked out books on the following dates during his unemployed period,
- 32:46Speaker 2: which would be Thursday July eighteenth, Tuesday, July thirtieth, Wednesday,
- 32:50Speaker 2: the thirty first of July, Monday, August fifth, Thursday, August eighth, Monday,
- 32:54Speaker 2: August twelfth, Thursday, August twenty second, Monday September ninth, and
- 32:59Speaker 2: Thursday sept Number nineteenth. Dates Oswald picked up in unemployment
- 33:04Speaker 2: checks July twenty second, July thirtieth, August sixth, August thirteenth,
- 33:09Speaker 2: August twentieth, twenty seventh, September third, tenth, seventeenth, twenty fourth,
- 33:14Speaker 2: And you'll notice they're all exactly seven days apart. He
- 33:19Speaker 2: did not He wasn't ever one day late picking up
- 33:22Speaker 2: his unemployment check, right lead at Yeah.
- 33:27Speaker 3: Yeah, and those matched up with the dates that he
- 33:31Speaker 3: was taking out books from.
- 33:32Speaker 2: No, no, no, there was actually there's actually no overlapping dates.
- 33:40Speaker 11: Huh.
- 33:40Speaker 3: So what you told the Warrant Commission or the FBI,
- 33:44Speaker 3: I can't remember which one would not have been accurate
- 33:48Speaker 3: that he picked up books on his unemployment.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Check though, Wow, I don't know, uh dates ozz World
- 34:00Speaker 2: cash unemployment checks, there's no certainty as to the dates
- 34:03Speaker 2: the checks were cashed all through. The dates would have
- 34:06Speaker 2: to be between Oswald's picking up the check and the
- 34:08Speaker 2: check being cleared by the bank, which in some cases
- 34:11Speaker 2: is known. These checks were all cashed at one of
- 34:13Speaker 2: the following places. When Dixie fourteen oh four, When Dixie
- 34:18Speaker 2: fourteen twenty five, when Dixie fourteen thirty nine, and Brown's
- 34:22Speaker 2: Velvet Drry No Martin's Restaurant.
- 34:31Speaker 3: Yeah, well I think that was the Ridley Chucks.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, I think that was the rally check.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Yeah, Cammy says, Hell no, you never miss your benefits.
- 34:39Speaker 3: And yeah, I think if you miss them, you lose them.
- 34:42Speaker 3: So Oswalt was not going to give up free money.
- 34:44Speaker 3: He was very frugal.
- 34:45Speaker 2: Yes, now. Carlos Brgier testified that he met Oswald on Monday,
- 34:52Speaker 2: August the fifth for the first time when he came
- 34:56Speaker 2: into his clothing store into Cator Street, Costa roco One
- 34:59Speaker 2: Si Indicatur. Philip Garacci, who we mentioned on the show before,
- 35:04Speaker 2: and Vance Blaylock also saw Oswald on this occasion. Four
- 35:09Speaker 2: days later, Friday, August ninth, Brignay encountered Oswald distributing leaflets
- 35:14Speaker 2: on Canal Street. They both went to jail that day.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Oswald spent the night in jail and was interviewed on
- 35:21Speaker 2: Saturday by Lieutenant Martello. On August tenth, and FBI agent
- 35:26Speaker 2: Lester Quigley, Oswald and Brigney appeared in muse Insicipal Court
- 35:32Speaker 2: on Monday August twelfth, at which time Oswald paid a
- 35:34Speaker 2: ten dollars fine. WDSU interviewed Oswald for television at this time.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Four days later, when August sixteenth, Oswald was televised passing
- 35:46Speaker 2: out leaflets in front of the International Trademard on Camp Street.
- 35:50Speaker 2: On the same day, Carlos Brignier testified he sent a
- 35:53Speaker 2: friend round to Oswald's house to speak to Oswald, which
- 35:57Speaker 2: he did for about an hour. This friend was Carlos Caroga.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Of course, the last occasion Brgier saw Oswald was about
- 36:07Speaker 2: five thirty PM on Wednesday, August twenty first, twenty first,
- 36:11Speaker 2: at WDSU radio station. On that occasion, Ed Butler and
- 36:14Speaker 2: Bill Stucky were also there.
- 36:17Speaker 7: Now.
- 36:17Speaker 2: According to Bill Stucky, he said the first time he
- 36:20Speaker 2: met Oswald at Oswald's house was about eight am on Saturday,
- 36:24Speaker 2: August seventeenth, at which time Oswald was wearing his Marine
- 36:28Speaker 2: Corps Fatigue trousers. At five o'clock that evening, Oswald appeared
- 36:33Speaker 2: at WDSU in a suit black suit and white shirt
- 36:37Speaker 2: tie and recorded a program which was played that night
- 36:41Speaker 2: Latin listening post. Later on August nineteenth to twentieth, Oswald
- 36:46Speaker 2: telephone Stucky and agreed to appear on Conversation cart Blanche
- 36:50Speaker 2: and Oswald appeared for that program on Wednesday, August twenty
- 36:53Speaker 2: first at WDSU station. After the program, he had a
- 36:57Speaker 2: drink with Oswald alone at Cosimo's Bar. On no Stucky sorry,
- 37:06Speaker 2: we talked about this on the show. It was a story.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Sally has a really great comment. She goes, when did
- 37:17Speaker 3: Lee meet up with Judy though Rob Well, yeah, obviously
- 37:24Speaker 3: obviously from July mid July to end of September he
- 37:28Speaker 3: was spending his days with.
- 37:31Speaker 2: He used to bang her in the library bathroom. She's
- 37:34Speaker 2: got to be very quiet.
- 37:37Speaker 3: Yes, I don't think Judy is one that would be quiet.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Momo comment here before you continue. I don't see oswaldt
- 37:49Speaker 3: being a cat that takes orders from anybody, whether they
- 37:53Speaker 3: be the CIA, Mafia, Cuba, or the Soviet Union. And Momo,
- 37:58Speaker 3: I completely agree with you.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Is this the same Momo as our producer on Quick Hits.
- 38:03Speaker 3: It could be, It could be.
- 38:07Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't think it is, because Momo's
- 38:09Speaker 2: name is all one word. This is two separate Momos.
- 38:12Speaker 3: Yes, Plust Momo was in the bathroom most of the time.
- 38:15Speaker 2: So yeah. Then Ruth Payne's Ruth Payne arrives in New
- 38:21Speaker 2: Orleans on September twentieth. It's a Friday or possibly Saturday,
- 38:26Speaker 2: the twenty first she has my recollection is that he
- 38:29Speaker 2: oswald was present most of the weekend. Ruth Klopfer also
- 38:34Speaker 2: visited the Oswald's on Sunday, September twenty second. Yeah, on Sunday, also,
- 38:39Speaker 2: Oswald packed the car in preparation for Ruth and Marine's departure.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Ruth Payne left with Marina and the children on Monday,
- 38:45Speaker 2: September twenty third. On September twenty fourth, Oswald filled out
- 38:50Speaker 2: a change of address card, rerouting his mail to twenty
- 38:53Speaker 2: five to fifteen West fifth Street, Irving, Texas, Wednesday, September
- 38:58Speaker 2: twenty fifth, nineteen sixty three. On this date, Oswald collected
- 39:01Speaker 2: an unemployment check from his PO box in New Orleans,
- 39:05Speaker 2: cashed it, and promptly boarded a bus en route for
- 39:09Speaker 2: Mexico City via Texas. Letters to VT Lee and National
- 39:16Speaker 2: Director of the Fair Play for Cuba Committee, We're gonna
- 39:22Speaker 2: pause here and I'm gonna let Joe continue with this
- 39:26Speaker 2: part of the story. Sure, so.
- 39:33Speaker 3: Really quickly, Sally. She's definitely a screamer of that one, Joe.
- 39:39Speaker 3: She doesn't know how to keep her mouth shut, that's
- 39:41Speaker 3: for sure.
- 39:44Speaker 5: Uh.
- 39:45Speaker 3: But yeah, we did that that Ruth Clocker segment. This
- 39:49Speaker 3: is an interesting situation as well.
- 39:53Speaker 2: But yeah, so we know Lee left.
- 40:01Speaker 3: Dallas for New Orleans in April about mid April. I
- 40:05Speaker 3: think it's the twelfth, a couple of days after the
- 40:08Speaker 3: Walker shooting for New Orleans. Right, he left without Marina,
- 40:16Speaker 3: right to find a job, right because he had not
- 40:19Speaker 3: been working at Jaggers by then, or the Leslie welding.
- 40:24Speaker 3: You know, these are all in the past. So he
- 40:27Speaker 3: goes on and he's looking for work. In terms of
- 40:34Speaker 3: VT Lee, let me bring this up real quick, he
- 40:41Speaker 3: wrote to the Fair Play for Cuba Committee.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Let me just bring this up and.
- 40:56Speaker 3: In May of nineteen sixty three, and this is the
- 41:00Speaker 3: response from VT Lee. Ironically, we'll get to this later.
- 41:05Speaker 3: He has an interesting letter to him in August. First, but,
- 41:11Speaker 3: dear friend, this is VT Lee. We received your notice
- 41:17Speaker 3: of change of address, and Oswald is very like you
- 41:20Speaker 3: just mentioned. He's very on top of his change of addresses. Right,
- 41:23Speaker 3: he needs his literature checks. Possibly he's not letting this
- 41:32Speaker 3: go for a month or two, And in looking for
- 41:34Speaker 3: your old mailing plate and not finding one, one can
- 41:37Speaker 3: only conclude that either was pulled some time ago when
- 41:39Speaker 3: mail was returned to us, or that your subscription has
- 41:42Speaker 3: long since inspired. In any event, we are enclosing a
- 41:45Speaker 3: renewal form and a copy of our current literature catalog
- 41:49Speaker 3: for you to catch up with. We hope to hear
- 41:52Speaker 3: from you soon so that we may again have your
- 41:55Speaker 3: name amongst those who continue to support the efforts of
- 41:59Speaker 3: our Fair Play for Cuba Committee. So he was issued
- 42:07Speaker 3: his FPCC membership card on May twenty eighth, nineteen sixty three. Okay,
- 42:17Speaker 3: this was found in his possessions. I don't know if
- 42:22Speaker 3: it was in the wallet or in Beckley, but it
- 42:24Speaker 3: was found in this possession. Forward a little bit to
- 42:30Speaker 3: May twenty ninth, Oswald had replied, and you know, I
- 42:34Speaker 3: couldn't find rob some of Oswalt's initial letters to FPCC,
- 42:41Speaker 3: And maybe it's because I didn't search hard enough, or
- 42:44Speaker 3: maybe it's because FPCC didn't want anything to do with
- 42:48Speaker 3: Oswald after the assassination and possibly destroyed correspondence. But as
- 42:54Speaker 3: we know, Oswald is a pack rat. You know, he
- 42:57Speaker 3: kept everything right. So this was found also in his belongings.
- 43:03Speaker 3: This is a response on May twenty ninth, dear friend,
- 43:06Speaker 3: thank you for your prompt reply. So from the twenty
- 43:08Speaker 3: second to the twenty ninth they had already got his reply.
- 43:12Speaker 3: Enclosed are your card and receipt, which we just showed
- 43:16Speaker 3: with our thanks and welcome. Your interest in helping to
- 43:19Speaker 3: form an FPCC chapter in New Orleans is gratefully received.
- 43:24Speaker 3: I shall try to give you some basic information now
- 43:27Speaker 3: so that you may have a better picture of what
- 43:29Speaker 3: this entails. For one thing, I am enclosing a copy
- 43:33Speaker 3: of our constitution and bylaws for all chapters and student councils.
- 43:38Speaker 3: You will note that there is considerable autonomy for an
- 43:44Speaker 3: organization our size. We try and let all chapters operate
- 43:48Speaker 3: according to the local requirements. Naturally, there a minimal regulations
- 43:55Speaker 3: which must be meant. There are probably typo. All chapters
- 43:59Speaker 3: can literature and bulk at a discounted rate and resell
- 44:03Speaker 3: at the retail price, and use the proceeds for further
- 44:08Speaker 3: chapter activities. Credit is extended and payment is not required
- 44:14Speaker 3: with the order. We do expect payment within a reasonable
- 44:18Speaker 3: period so that we may continue our end of the operation.
- 44:25Speaker 3: So they're kind of like fronting him.
- 44:29Speaker 7: Some of this.
- 44:32Speaker 3: This literature, right and saying pay us back. Yeah, it
- 44:36Speaker 3: would be hard to conceive of a chapter with as
- 44:40Speaker 3: few members as seem to exist in the New Orleans area.
- 44:43Speaker 3: And this has of course gotten a lot of attention, right, Like,
- 44:52Speaker 3: were there any members of the FPCC in New Orleans
- 44:55Speaker 3: wasn't just Oswald type of thing. So this is in
- 44:58Speaker 3: May saying I don't think it's going to work in
- 45:01Speaker 3: the New Orleans area. I have just gone through VT
- 45:04Speaker 3: League continuance. I have just gone through our files and
- 45:06Speaker 3: find that Louisiana seems somewhat restricted for fair play activities. However,
- 45:13Speaker 3: with what is there, perhaps you could build a larger
- 45:16Speaker 3: group if a few people would undertake the disciplined responsibility
- 45:20Speaker 3: of concrete organizational work. We certainly are not at all
- 45:25Speaker 3: adverse to a very small chapter, but certainly would expect
- 45:29Speaker 3: that there would be at least twice the amount needed
- 45:31Speaker 3: to conduct a legal executive board for the chapter. Should
- 45:35Speaker 3: this be reasonable, we could readily issue a charter for
- 45:39Speaker 3: the next one for the New Orleans chapter. So, you know,
- 45:46Speaker 3: less than a month or about a month after he
- 45:48Speaker 3: leaves Dallas to New Orleans, he's already writing the FPCC
- 45:54Speaker 3: inquiring about starting the chapter. So I think that's I
- 46:02Speaker 3: don't know when he started out Riley. I think it's
- 46:04Speaker 3: before that or just what he started.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Yeah, it wasn't around there.
- 46:10Speaker 3: So since we'll go in chronological order, I have a
- 46:14Speaker 3: couple more of some of his correspondents. Maybe I'll go
- 46:17Speaker 3: into that a little later.
- 46:22Speaker 2: Well, okay, we're still we're still in August, right are
- 46:25Speaker 2: We're coming up through there? Yeah?
- 46:27Speaker 3: Actually I actually have something from July.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Let me just yeah, you can go ahead and get
- 46:32Speaker 2: through them. Okay, cool, because we're gonna say a sharp
- 46:36Speaker 2: left turn after that.
- 46:39Speaker 3: Well, he is righting to the Communist Party USA. In
- 46:43Speaker 3: July thirty first sixty three, he wrote to them, and
- 46:47Speaker 3: then this is the response. You're a letter to the
- 46:50Speaker 3: worker has been referred to me for a reply. It
- 46:53Speaker 3: is good to know that movements in support of fair
- 46:56Speaker 3: Play for Cuba have has developed in New Orleans as
- 47:00Speaker 3: well as in other cities. We do not have any
- 47:03Speaker 3: organizational ties with the committee, and yet there is much
- 47:07Speaker 3: material that we issue from time to time that is
- 47:10Speaker 3: important for anyone who's concerned about developments in Cuba. Under
- 47:14Speaker 3: separate cover. We are sending you some literature. So here
- 47:17Speaker 3: Oswald is writing the Communist Party. Was say, he's telling them,
- 47:22Speaker 3: I you know, I could tell you what his letter said.
- 47:26Speaker 3: I'm the president secretary of the Fair Play for Cuba
- 47:29Speaker 3: Committee in New Orleans. Blah blah blah. Send me some literature,
- 47:35Speaker 3: and they do, and they do.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Well apparently, Joe. I mean it says here that your
- 47:43Speaker 2: letter to the Worker has been referred to me for
- 47:46Speaker 2: a reply, So I don't it doesn't sound to me
- 47:49Speaker 2: like he wrote the Communist Party. He wrote the Worker,
- 47:52Speaker 2: and they gave it to this jackass to reply to Oswald.
- 47:57Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, yeah, you're right, you're in. I think I
- 48:00Speaker 3: have another one here.
- 48:01Speaker 2: No, that's not it.
- 48:05Speaker 3: Oh, I'm sorry, I'm gonna go a little back here.
- 48:09Speaker 3: It is on August thirteenth, nineteen sixty three, he writes
- 48:12Speaker 3: Arnold Johnson, who I believe was the central part of
- 48:17Speaker 3: the Central Committee of the Communist Party. So he's writing
- 48:20Speaker 3: all these different people the Worker. Dear mister Johnson, I
- 48:24Speaker 3: wish to thank you for the literature which you sent
- 48:26Speaker 3: me for our local branch of the Fair Play for
- 48:28Speaker 3: Cuba Committee, of which I am the secretary president. As
- 48:31Speaker 3: you could see from the enclosed clipping, I am doing
- 48:34Speaker 3: my best to help the cause of New Cuba, a
- 48:40Speaker 3: cause which I know you approve of. Also. So this
- 48:44Speaker 3: is August thirteenth, the clipping he's referring to probably as
- 48:48Speaker 3: the fracas.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Yeah right, yeah, because the other shit I hadn't aven.
- 48:54Speaker 3: You, right, would you, from time to time send us literature?
- 48:59Speaker 3: Oswald says, any at all would be greatly appreciated. Please
- 49:03Speaker 3: accept an honorary New Orleans Branch membership card as a
- 49:07Speaker 3: token of esteem FBCC there. Yeah, yeah, he's given him
- 49:16Speaker 3: an honorary card.
- 49:18Speaker 2: You have another member of the Fair Play for Cuba Committee,
- 49:20Speaker 2: Arnold Johnson from New York.
- 49:24Speaker 7: Yes, so.
- 49:28Speaker 1: This is.
- 49:30Speaker 3: Another letter from Lee Harvey Oswald to Arnold. This is
- 49:35Speaker 3: dated August twenty eighth, sixty three comrades, which of course
- 49:41Speaker 3: is a very Russian way of saying friend. Right, yeah,
- 49:48Speaker 3: please advise me and again August twenty eighth.
- 49:50Speaker 2: You're talking now, this is after everything, Yeah, the radio
- 49:58Speaker 2: TV appearance, their rest.
- 50:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, exactly about like at least a week after
- 50:05Speaker 3: his last appearance would bring a I think I please
- 50:10Speaker 3: advise me upon a problem of personal tactics. I have
- 50:14Speaker 3: lived in the Soviet Union from October fifty five to
- 50:17Speaker 3: July sixty two. That's a lie, Rob, that is a lie.
- 50:23Speaker 3: That is a lie. As we know, Oswald did not
- 50:27Speaker 3: always tell the truth. And a lot of circumstances you
- 50:30Speaker 3: can go back to, you know, his.
- 50:34Speaker 2: He left out the part where he was in the Yeah,
- 50:38Speaker 2: as a patriotic American.
- 50:40Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Well, and it lines up with what Oswalt
- 50:44Speaker 3: does in every situation. He doesn't add in certain information
- 50:49Speaker 3: that might not help the cause. And you can see
- 50:52Speaker 3: that on job interviews.
- 50:54Speaker 2: And it's very Chamelion man. He's whoever you want him
- 50:58Speaker 2: to be.
- 50:59Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 51:01Speaker 3: I had in nineteen fifty nine in Moscow, tried to
- 51:04Speaker 3: legally dissolve my United States citizenship in favor of Soviet
- 51:09Speaker 3: citizenship citizenship. However, I did not complete the legal formalities
- 51:15Speaker 3: for this. So what happened was when Oswalt went and
- 51:22Speaker 3: tried to get Soviet citizens citizenship. Goddamn it that word.
- 51:29Speaker 3: They said, check back with us in a year. The
- 51:32Speaker 3: Soviet Union did, and he did not because he got
- 51:36Speaker 3: easily bored and was trying to come back.
- 51:39Speaker 7: By that.
- 51:41Speaker 3: Lee continues, having come back to the US in sifty
- 51:44Speaker 3: two and thrown myself into the struggle for progress and
- 51:48Speaker 3: freedom in the United States. I would like to know
- 51:50Speaker 3: whether in your option opinions spelled wrong. I can continue
- 51:56Speaker 3: to fight he spells that opions.
- 52:01Speaker 2: We spelled weather wrong, too, spelled it like the rain
- 52:04Speaker 2: or snow. I would like to know weather. Yeah, you
- 52:08Speaker 2: like to know snow and wind and sun.
- 52:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that is true. I was reading it quickly, but
- 52:14Speaker 3: yes I have. I have definitely screwed that up once
- 52:19Speaker 3: or twice before.
- 52:20Speaker 2: So I'm not going to he was tripping any types
- 52:22Speaker 2: of who knows?
- 52:25Speaker 3: I would like to know whether, in your opsons, I
- 52:30Speaker 3: can continue to fight handicapped as it were by my
- 52:33Speaker 3: past record. Can I still use a lot of commas
- 52:37Speaker 3: here under these circumstances? Compete, not complete? Compete with anti
- 52:45Speaker 3: progressive forces above ground or weather spelled wrong again and
- 52:51Speaker 3: you're OPI.
- 52:53Speaker 2: Own your opinion, Oh man.
- 52:57Speaker 3: I should always remain in the background underground. Interesting. Our
- 53:03Speaker 3: opponents could use my background of residents in the USSR
- 53:07Speaker 3: against any cause which I joined by association. They could
- 53:13Speaker 3: say the organization of which I am a member is
- 53:16Speaker 3: Russian controlled, etc. I am sure you see my point?
- 53:23Speaker 4: I do.
- 53:24Speaker 3: They definitely do and did. I could of course openly proclaim,
- 53:31Speaker 3: if pressed on the subject, that I wanted to dissolve
- 53:35Speaker 3: my American citizenship as a personal protest against the policy
- 53:41Speaker 3: of the US government in supporting dictatorships, etc. But what
- 53:46Speaker 3: do you think I should do? I don't know. If
- 53:48Speaker 3: I have the next one here, what do you think
- 53:50Speaker 3: I should do? What is the best tactic? In general?
- 53:53Speaker 3: Should I dissociate myself from all progressive activities? Here? In
- 54:00Speaker 3: New Orleans, I am secretary of the local branch spelled
- 54:05Speaker 3: branch wrong, bi A c H. Missed the end of
- 54:10Speaker 3: the Fair Play for Cuba Committee, a position which frankly
- 54:13Speaker 3: I have used to foster communist ideals. On a local
- 54:19Speaker 3: radio show, I was attacked by Cuban exile organization representatives
- 54:25Speaker 3: for my residents, et cetera in the Soviet Union. I
- 54:30Speaker 3: feel I may have compromised also spelt wrong. I think, yeah,
- 54:37Speaker 3: the FPCC.
- 54:39Speaker 2: So you see that I need the.
- 54:41Speaker 3: Advice of trusted, longtime fighters for progress. Please advise with
- 54:49Speaker 3: fraternal greeting. Wow is that a sixties thing for sincerely?
- 54:57Speaker 3: Or it's just says likely under that? Yeah, oh that's
- 55:02Speaker 3: true for eternal like fraternity.
- 55:06Speaker 2: Right kind of sincerely you know, brotherly?
- 55:09Speaker 3: Yes, yes, exactly the brass Sincerely, Lee h Oswald. And
- 55:16Speaker 3: this was I think August twenty eighth. So he's still writing,
- 55:25Speaker 3: corresponding and asking for advice on how to proceed since
- 55:31Speaker 3: he he knows he's a liability. And I think that
- 55:36Speaker 3: comes from when he was called out on that on
- 55:42Speaker 3: the TV show right for being for going to the
- 55:47Speaker 3: Soviet Union. So he's saying, they're going to use this
- 55:50Speaker 3: against me, how do I proceed type of thing, although
- 55:54Speaker 3: although his answer was really good then, so all right,
- 56:02Speaker 3: that takes us up the end of August.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Yeah, just just.
- 56:09Speaker 2: To back up in time here, just a little bit
- 56:12Speaker 2: of a couple of weeks. Now. We've talked about this before, Joe,
- 56:15Speaker 2: when you when you read the interview that Martello did,
- 56:20Speaker 2: and of course we've done the Quickly interview and the
- 56:22Speaker 2: cock Report co report on here before and and all
- 56:28Speaker 2: the lies that Lee told and that pertaining to his past. Yeah,
- 56:34Speaker 2: and whether or not there's always been a debate whether
- 56:38Speaker 2: or not Oswald asked to speak to somebody from the FBI,
- 56:43Speaker 2: or if somebody called them and said go talk to
- 56:45Speaker 2: this fool, and if Sylvia Maher was there. The opinion
- 56:49Speaker 2: that Oswald never asked uh to see anybody from the FBI,
- 56:53Speaker 2: that they just kind of called them because they found
- 56:55Speaker 2: all this weird shit on him, and you know what
- 56:57Speaker 2: he was doing. You know, let's make it the FBI's
- 57:01Speaker 2: problem in not ours. But I say all that to
- 57:06Speaker 2: say this on September twentieth, in nineteen sixty eight. I
- 57:12Speaker 2: have here a memo to Jim Garrison from Tom Bethel,
- 57:15Speaker 2: one of his investigators, concerning the interview of Lee Harvey
- 57:19Speaker 2: Oswald by the FBI on occasion of his first arrest
- 57:23Speaker 2: in New Orleans, and it says a small discrepancy between
- 57:27Speaker 2: the testimony of Lester Quigley and Lieutenant Francis Martello has
- 57:31Speaker 2: been pointed out by Sylvia Marr. Whereas quickly stated that
- 57:35Speaker 2: Oswald requested an interview with the FBI, Martello gives no
- 57:38Speaker 2: such indication. So accordingly, I telephoned Lieutenant Martella, now Captain,
- 57:44Speaker 2: on September eighteenth, nineteen sixty eight, and I asked him
- 57:46Speaker 2: about this. He verified that Oswald, in fact did request
- 57:53Speaker 2: an interview with the FBI end of discussion period on sentence.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Martello seemed surprised that this was not in his testimony.
- 58:07Speaker 2: In reply to my question, Martello added that it is
- 58:10Speaker 2: unusual for a prisoner charge with a minor offense to
- 58:13Speaker 2: request an interview with the FBI. This is why he
- 58:17Speaker 2: says he remembers Oswald specifically doing it. He said that
- 58:20Speaker 2: Oswald gave absolutely no reason for requesting this interview. He
- 58:25Speaker 2: that he was just very adamant about it that he
- 58:28Speaker 2: speaks with someone from the FBI. So there you have it.
- 58:34Speaker 2: Mystery solved, folks. He did ask, he did ask. Yeah,
- 58:43Speaker 2: now we get into the juicy bits. Joseph, Oh, I
- 58:46Speaker 2: love it. I love it. Ready for this, I do
- 58:49Speaker 2: just I.
- 58:49Speaker 3: Want to just just do one thing before we move
- 58:52Speaker 3: on perpetual concepts.
- 58:54Speaker 2: How are you, sir?
- 58:55Speaker 3: It looked like Oswald signed the other name on his
- 58:58Speaker 3: FPCC car card. And I don't know, I'm gonna I'm
- 59:05Speaker 3: gonna bring it up right now. Uh, it looks like
- 59:07Speaker 3: it's Lee h. Oswald. I don't know if you're referring
- 59:10Speaker 3: to something else here.
- 59:12Speaker 2: You talking about v the V T Lee name. Oh,
- 59:16Speaker 2: because of the way styles l's and oh this no
- 59:20Speaker 2: on the on the card itself, not the letter.
- 59:24Speaker 3: Oh oh, I see what you mean. Okay, let's let's
- 59:27Speaker 3: let's let's dig into this.
- 59:30Speaker 2: Uh, we don't have a don't we have the letter
- 59:34Speaker 2: that specifically stays that VT Lee sent them the card. So,
- 59:38Speaker 2: and it looks like it's in a different pin.
- 59:40Speaker 3: And yeah all that jazz, Yeah, yeah, we we do. So.
- 59:44Speaker 3: I mean, I I think it probably was signed by
- 59:47Speaker 3: him by VT. Lee. I don't think at that point
- 59:52Speaker 3: they had any h you know, problems with sending some
- 59:57Speaker 3: random Skufusa New Orleans, like Hey, you want to go
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: for it, go ahead, buddy, you know, break a legs,
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: all right. So yes, let's get into the juicy bits,
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: all right, the juicy bits. And Rob has been uh
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: is surprising me too. He was cryptic with me as well.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: He has not shared this, so this will be new
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: to me.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Nope, all right. Memo to Jim Garrison again from Tom Bethel,
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: this time June thirtieth, nineteen sixty seven. A Michael Hadley
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: of Saint Andrews Street called at one thirty pm and
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: advised that he had knowledge to the effect that Gene
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: Davis was lying when he said that he did not
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: know Lee Harvey Oswald. His reason for saying this was
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: that a friend of his whose name he would not disclose,
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: used to go out drinking with Davis, and in the
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: course of his acquaintance with Davis, he saw Davis with
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Oswald in nineteen sixty two, when Oswald was still in Russia. Supposedly,
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: Hadley said that X had a grudge against Davis and
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: for this reason. X wants to see Davis get what's
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: coming to him for this reason, and bearing in mind
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: that the caller was obviously unaware that Oswald was in
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Russia at this time, he stressed he was positive it
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: was early sixty two. I do not imagine that there's
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: anything more than a personal vendetta to this story. Mister
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Hadley called again at two PM and said that X
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: does not want to discuss this matter any further at present,
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: and as he Hadley had no further info, he does
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: not want to or us to approach him further on
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: it unless he calls us again with more information. Now again,
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: is this some nutjob, you know, like Bethel thinks that
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: he is. Did he get dates wrong? Or this ain't
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: the only guy who's seen Lee Harvey Oswald in New
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: Orleans in nineteen sixty two or sixty one when he
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: was supposedly in Russia. Either, so with somebody in New
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: Orleans pretending to be Lee Harvey Oswald, possibly, yeah.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: Well, he came back on the mass Dam in June
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: sixty two, right New York City, and then went to
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: New Orleans and lived there temporarily.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Right, I don't think he went to New Orleans until
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: at least after Thanksgiving, because we haven't spent Thanksgiving in
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: Fort Worth with his mom and his brother. And all right,
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: well I will you.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: Might be because I think he stopped in New Orleans.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: And one of the other documents or letters I found
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: from the Harvey Oswaltz to the Workers dated June tenth,
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: nineteen sixty two, which must have been a couple of
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: days after he got out of the mass dam, because
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: I believe that was early June. Rob Dear sir, as
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: a longtime subscriber to the Worker, I know I can
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: ask a favor of you with full confidence of its fulfillment.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: I formed a quote fair play for Cuba committee here
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: in New Orleans. Okay, So if the date on this
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: letter is right, this is almost a year before he
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: got his FPCC card. Rob in may have sixty three.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: Well, he definitely they did, definitely did not go home
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: to New Orleans. They went to Texas.
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: They want to write to Texas, Okay, they.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: Went to Texas. So again this is this is a
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: giant lie and a very insightful look into the future
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: from a year from now.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I'm saying yeah for sure. Uh.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: He says shit, Oswell got the fucking date wrong, because
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: again he signed it yours faternally.
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and it would make sense if it was sixty three,
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: because he would have gotten his card a card a
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: couple of weeks before. It would be really weird. And again,
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: all these letters are in a lot of them are
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: in Russian. Okay, so it's really hard to.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: I found a couple pictures of them, but of course
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: I can't be Russian.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: The enclosed urary membership cards, yeah right.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: I asked that you give us as much literature as
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: you judge possible. And again, as we just read, he
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: was asking for literature and the other letters too, since
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: I think it would be very nice to have your
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: literature among the fair play for Cuba leaflets like the
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: one enclosed. Also be so kind as to convey the
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: enclosed honorary membership cards to those fighters for peace, mister
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: Gus Hall and mister B. Davis Eugene da This. I
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: don't know what to make of this, but I found this.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: I think this is one of the war commissioned exhibits
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: or this might have been in the Texas Portal for History. Yeah,
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: but interesting. I don't know what to make of it.
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: I just put a bunch of letters.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: I found crazy crazy. So next up, I have an
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: interview with David Lewis from December of sixty six, so
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: this is relatively early in the Yearson investigation. At this time,
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: twenty six years old, living on Cleveland Avenue in New Orleans.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: And it's a statement. It's not an interview. It's a
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: written statement by him, meaning no prompts, no questions, just
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: a statement. I have never previously been interviewed by the
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: FBI or any other agency on this matter. During the
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: months of January sixty one through January sixty two, I
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: was employed by Guy Banister and his associates as a
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: private investigator. In the late summer of sixty three, I
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: was reporting to the Louisiana State Employment Office at six
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: o'ht one Camp Street, seeking steady employment. At this time,
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: all I had was odd jobs. From time to time,
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: several times I would stop by a Guy Banister's office
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: in the Newman Building to see if he had any
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: legwork to be done. On one occasion, I stopped by
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: a Banister's office. Before going into the office, I stopped
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: by Mancuso's restaurant, which is right beside it. On the
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: corner beside Banister's office, I noticed Sergio or Kasha, Carlos,
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: and a fellow whom I was introduced to by Carlos
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: as Lee Harvey in the restaurant. It has now been
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: determined by me through photographs that this man was Lee
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: Harvey Oswalt. Plus the time when I was at home
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: when Jack Ruby killed Lee on TV and I said
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: I had seen that man before. When I first seen
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: Lee Oswald in the restaurant, he didn't talk much, but
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: he seemed to be anxious about getting on his way.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: Oswald appeared to be highly nervous man with boundless energy. Carlos,
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Sergio and Lee Oswald were involved in some business which
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: dealt with Cuba. It appeared to me that this was
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: a business that was more or less a racket to
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: acquire funds. Yeah, just wait. On this occasion, Oswald was
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: dressed in dark slacks, a light blue sports shirt, short sleeves.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: Carlos was last name I don't know, as a well
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: dressed man, black hair, black eyes, approximately five eleven to
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: six feet tall, very neat, which seemed to be a businessman. Now,
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: obviously this would be Coroga okay, because Rogo was in
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: the CRC with Sergeio or Kassias Smith when they had
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: an office in the same building as Guy Banister, so
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: they would have definitely all known each other. So so
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: far his story makes sense that these guys all knew
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: each other, would occasionally meet and Mancucco's restaurant right there
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: and have lunch or whatever, drinks or whatever the case
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: may be. So so far everything's jibing. He was wearing
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: a light weight suit either black or dark blue, a mustache,
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: clean shaved, and had a decent bat I don't know
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: was not pronounced as oh accent that was not as
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: pronounced as Arkasia's. Appeared to be highly educated, might be
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: considered as a high class Spaniard, as was Arcascia. Arcascious.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: Smith was dressed in a sport code white shirt and tie,
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: very neat, shortened, stocky, black hair, dark complexion, walked with
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: a very thick accent. Arkasha Smith to me appeared to
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: be the boss. I had only seen Oswald about three
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: or four times in the neighborhood of Lafayette and Camp
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: Streets in the Newman Building a few days either before
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: or after Mancuso or when I saw them in Mancuso's.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: I went into Banister's office. I went in. They shut
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: the door to the inner office as if highly confidential.
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: In Banister's office was Banister, David Ferry, Arkasha, and a slim,
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: sandy haired young man. This man could have very well
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: been Oswald, but I'm not sure. By the way Luis
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: Decker happened to be in the office at this time.
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: Another time, I remember seeing Carlos, Arkasha and Dave Ferry
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: walking from Mancuso's restaurant toward Banister's office. Signed David Lewis. Now,
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: what's interesting to me about this entire statement? And this
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: is where I had an epiphany, Joe, Okay, I had
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: an epiphany. Okay, Now when you're talking about these types, Okay,
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: Dave Ferry, Jack Martin, Thomas Beckham, conmn right, these mercenaries,
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: Lawrence Hall, Lawrence Howard, anything for money, con men right,
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: Terry hemming soldiers. There was always accusations that these folks
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: were raising funds not to actually do anything against Cuba.
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: But what better way to raise money for yourself then
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: actually have to have a job. Okay, you know, and
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: you're you're seemingly you know, it's a con basically, right,
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: you know, I mean, think of it. You're Lee Oswald.
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: You can't find a decent job in Louisiana. You had
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: one in Texas, but in Louisiana you can't find a
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: decent job. Obviously, he wasn't happy at Riley's, you know,
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: or he wasn't interested in it didn't float his boat.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: He was looking for photographic work or something he was
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: interested in, you know, oil and coffee machines. Probably didn't
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: you know, jazz him up or whatever, right, didn't wet
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: his whistle, yeah, you know, and then he gets fired
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: from there. He didn't quit, he got fired. So let's
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: think for a minute. People back then were always scheming,
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: always scheming, right, yeah, or a quick buck. I mean,
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: all of these characters in New Orleans, they're all seed
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: as shit. They're all doing you know, undercover work whatever.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: You know, they're all, you know, like doing the whole
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: Bishop thing, you know, And which is another.
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: Con, yes, another way to raise money too, correct, Yeah,
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: easier way if you're a godly man, right.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: Yeah, but you got to wear all that shit around
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: and pretend to be like a holy man and all that.
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: But sure, you know, and I think even Beckham alluded
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: to it in his testimony that you know, they would
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: set up these fake churches, these fake church fronts, you know,
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: with the cans out you know, to help you know,
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: fight you know, the dirty comedies in Cuba and Fidel
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: Castro and all this, you know, donate to the calls
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: type thing, and they would just keep the money, right
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: and uh So it occurred to me that, Okay, Oswald
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: spent a good bit of his childhood in New Orleans,
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: growing up, right, and some of the cedious, shitty parts
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: of New Orleans you could grow up in. You know,
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: he wasn't growing up like, you know, anywhere nice, you
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. You know, he was growing up
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: on like Exchange Alley and you know, we'll get into
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: that here in a second. But he was growing up
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: in some bad places in New Orleans, and he knew
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: a lot of CDs people, and a lot of the
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: CDs people back then used to be these undercovered gay
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: people right you know, into the you know, I don't
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: know what kind of business they were trying to get
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: over and do, whether it was drugs or scams or
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: cons or whatever. Grifters. Yeah, you know, Oswald would have
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: known how to do this. What better way than to
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: create a fair play for Cuba committee right as a
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: way he thought that maybe he gets some money off
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: of it. People would actually sign up, you know, people
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: would actually pay dues and this and that, and he
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: wouldn't have to work, and he could just spouse his
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: bullshit you know whatever, talk do what he does best,
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: just talk, you know, read and talk and whatever. And
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: you know, if he's if he's having lunch and meeting
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: with people like Sergeriy Arcassia Smith, if he's in codes
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: with Carlos Coroga, you know. And he was friendly with
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: Brignier when he first visited him, like, you know, pretending
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: to be on the same side of the fence as him,
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: and this and that. I had an epiphany, you know,
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: thinking to myself, you know what if these guys were
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: working together, but working both sides of the fence. Huh.
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: You see what I'm saying.
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: We put a way to raise funds than to have
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: some commie you could.
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: Point to right right right, or if you agreed with
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: the comedie, you know, because you didn't want these dirty
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: Cubans in it, you know, right, you know, integrating into
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: your society, you know, instead of just throwing all their
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: eggs in one basket and being all anti Castro or
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: being all pro Castro. If they all knew each other
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: and they were all friends and they decided to play
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: both sides of the street and figure, okay, well you
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: got the better background for this, We got the better
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: background for that, you know, together, you know.
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: A quid pro quaw.
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you know, because I don't think at the
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: time anything like this was in the New Orleans and
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: even Philip Garacci, you know, was selling these fake ass
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: what do you call them, war bonds or whatever to
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: support training these anti Castro Cubans at Lake Ponta train
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: and the cops came down on Bringia for that because
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: Brigna was behind that, sponsoring that. So to me, this
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: whole bullshit in New Orleans is a giant money grab
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: scam or an attempted money grab scam.
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: He was unemployed at that time for sure.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: And they escalated each side of it to bring each
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: side more notoriety.
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: Drum up the emotions, got the money flowing.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: Yeah, yep, but I think it backfired. Yeah, when they
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: went on television and bring Ye brought up him living
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: in Russia, and Oswald didn't want that out to the public.
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: He didn't want that information out there because you just
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: read the letter to the worker saying that he thinks
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: now that he's compromised because of his background from living
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: in Russia. Yep. Yeah.
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: About a week after that, Yeah, and so all.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: This bullshit ends, you know, all of a sudden. It
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: just ends at the end of August, right. You know
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: what I'm saying. Oswald was jazzed up for this shit
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: from you know, May, at least May of sixty three.
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: Until then, this was all he was worried about doing,
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: was creating this fair play for Q Committee. You know,
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: he was writing for literature. He was trying to garner members,
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: He's passing out leaflets, he's creating incidents to bring more
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: note of writing and attention to what he's doing, and
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: then it backfires on him.
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: Bro's that's a really good theory, and southwest degrees grift
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: on the left, grift on the right not a bad theory.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: So you think about it, dude, it makes sense because
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: it all just ends after this television debate. It ends.
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: He writes that last letter to the worker, and that's
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: it from September until he leaves, supposedly from Mexico. He's done, Like,
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: he just drops the whole thing. He doesn't hand out
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: any more leaflets, he doesn't talk anymore bullshit, he doesn't
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: go on any more radio shows, he doesn't send any
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: more letters, nothing, radio silence from Oswalt until he goes
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: to Mexico.
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: Yeah, and I'll even take it a step further, Rob,
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: because you're dropping in this awmnie. Now, if things did
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: go south, right, if this wasn't some type of grifting operation,
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: I mean, I think you and I and a lot
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: of the chat both agree Oswalt was framed. Right, He's
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: probably framed by people and Cubans out of New Orleans,
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: probably the dra A.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: Well, I think something happened, Something happened, Something happened in September.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: Oswald, as we know, is not the easiest person to
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: get along with.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: Right, Well, he knew he was fucking New Orleans. Right,
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: He's never gonna get hired for nobody's gonna hire his
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: ass in New Orleans, at least in his mind. He's done,
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: went on the radio and television and he's been you know,
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: called out for being living in Russia. And being a commie.
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: You know, the FBI is probably watching him. He's done.
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: He's done in New Orleans. There's nothing more he can
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: do in New Orleans. He's fucked in New Orleans. He'll
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: never work. You can't continue what he's doing. So yeah,
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: you know, either either he came up with some hair
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: brained bullshit to go try to go to Cuba through
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: Mexico on his own, or that's when you know, somebody
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: stepped in or somebody else stepped in and steered him
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: in that direction, whether overtly or covertly, I don't know,
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: or like I said, he this is something he may
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: have just chose to do one of his own. But again,
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: you'd have to explain all of the pre shit in
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: Mexico City, right right, I don't know.
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's fascinating. Honestly. Let me drop this on you, Rob,
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: because the last letter I had shown was August twenty eighth, right.
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: This is a letter September one, sixty three to the
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: Communist Party in New York, Lee Harvey Oswaltz, Dear Sirs,
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: please advise me as to how I can contact the
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: party in the Baltimore Washington area, to which I shall
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: relocate in October fraternally.
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: He spelled fraternally right, finally. Yeah. But now now see
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: this is something else too, because when they interviewed Marina,
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: she said that she didn't when she first says she
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: didn't know he was going to Mexico, that she thought
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: he was possibly going to Baltimore or DC or Philadelphia. Yeah,
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: so who knows what is going on here?
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: Bro, I don't think he knew where the hell he
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: was going at this point. He's unemployed, he got a
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: bunch of trouble, he got arrested, he can't find a job.
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: But so what he knows he's fucked in New Orleans though, Yeah,
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: he's gotta go, right.
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: Which is what the showed it. He's like, I don't
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: know if I going about Dallas and going to Baltimore,
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: And in some correspondence we didn't show here he's also
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: writing the Russian embassy in DC. Okay, first and early
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: sixty three, First it was to try to get him
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: a Marina back to Russia. That narrative changed after they
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: were denied a couple of times. Then it turned into
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: well I just want to get Marina and my daughter
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: is back to Russia or my daughter at the time.
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: Yeah, uh, my wife is pregnant and tried to use
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: that as.
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: A yeah because and then that was denied too, so
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: or it was or it was going to take a
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: long time for an answer, one of the two.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: But so you have that going on in the background
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: of the New Orleans situation, right, and then when he
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: screws himself in August and he's got to go, They
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: got to get the hell out of New Orleans. So
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: Marina goes to Dallas or Irving with Ruth Payne and
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: he's going somewhere. He does He's not going with him,
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: He's going somewhere. He may have thought he was going
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: to Baltimore, Washington. He may have thought he was going
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: to Philadelphia, he was going to Mexico. I don't know, but.
- 1:23:51Speaker 7: He was.
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: He either did this on his own or somebody steering him,
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: you know.
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: H yeah, yeah, I think.
- 1:24:04Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: And it brings you back to your original question you
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: started this segment, What the hell was Oswald in New Orleans?
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: Uh?
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: It makes sense that there was pot when when you
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: when you think about the sightings with Faery and Banister
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: and things like that, and how could you explain that,
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: Is he a dude with just left leaning uh, you
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: know things, uh, you know beliefs. Was he a dude
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: that was trying to pretend to have left leaning beliefs?
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: But actually, you know, well.
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: If he's anywhere around Banister's office, we we know for
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: a fact that this dude is collecting information on suspected communists,
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: period and discussion. All of his fucking secretaries vouched for this.
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: Martin says this, His wife says this. We know what
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: files he had, He had a ship ton of him.
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: We know what, said Astro.
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: Said, said this is Roberts.
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: Yeah, this is what he was doing. Mm hm. You know,
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: And if he's anywhere near Banister's office and he's around
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: people like Faery you know, and Jack Martin, and you know,
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: I mean it was a hot bed for intelligence. I
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: mean they're right across the street from the you know,
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: the CIA office in New Orleans, right, you know, you
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: got all these people, uh you know, coming and going
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: and doing all this, you know, undercover ship for a
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: couple of bucks, you know what I mean. Like, but yeah,
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: I'm gonna paint the picture for you even a little
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: further than this, Okay, please do so I have here. Uh,
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: I don't even know what this is, to be honest
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: with you. It says the State of Louisiana, Parish of Orleans,
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: Criminal District Court for the Parish of Orleans, Assistant District
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: Attorney for the Parish of Orleans, in who, in the
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: name and by the authority of said State, prosecutes in
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: this behalf in proper person comes into the Criminal District
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: Court for the Parish of Orleans, in this Parish of Orleans,
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: and gives the said court here to understand and be
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: informed that one Dean Andrews Junior, Late, of the Parish
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: of Orleans, on the twenty eighth of June and the
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: year of Our Lord one thousand, nine hundred and sixty seven,
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: with force and arms, in the Parish of oz or Orleans, aforesaid,
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: and within the jurisdiction of the Criminal Court for the
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: Parish of Orleans, appeared as a witness before the Grand
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: Jury of the Parish of Orleans and committed perjury by
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: testifying as followers. Questioned by James Alcock, Assistant District Ernie Dean,
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: do you know the real clay Shaw? Answer? The man
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: I believe is Gene Davis and if you ask him,
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: he'll call me a crack sack of lies. Question, what
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: leads you to believe that this is Clay Bertrand? Hey?
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: Or the answer? Because I believe it. I'm the only
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: one who has to account for myself. What basis do
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: you have? Helen Gert Back in the fifties at the
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: Fag wedding reception, I was telling you all about I
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: was introduced to Davis as Clay Bertrand at the what
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: Fag wedding in the fifties And this was the man
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: who was introduced to you. Is Clay Bertrand? Right? Have
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: you talked to this man on the phone recently? I
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: talked to him almost every day. I have known him
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: a long time. Your testimony now is that this is
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: the man who sent clients to your office talk to
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: you on behalf of homosexuals. This is the man who
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: sent clients to my office. Sometimes they were fags, sometimes
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: they weren't. Is this the man who who called you
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: in the hospital and asked you to represent Lee Harvey Oswald?
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: This is the man I believe called me. I believe
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: what you all believe in your affair is your affair
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: right now? Grand Juror asked Dean Andrews, a question in
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: your mind, this is Clay Bertrand, the man who called
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: you down through the years representing homosexuals. No, No, he
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: didn't say it that way. That's the way I said it.
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: Uh, people are loving the accent, by the way.
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: It's not even a good Dean Andrews, I know you're
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: not going that deep. I'm not going deep.
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: I'm trying to time to you too.
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: No, he didn't do it that way. That's the way
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: I said it. Put it into the Warren Commission report.
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: Everybody picks it up from there and goes with it.
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: I never said it other time than in the Warren Report.
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: I asked you if you ever heard from Clay Bertrand
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: after the time you were called about representing Lee Oswald
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: and the assassination. And the answer was, I ain't seen
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: or heard of him since, not from Clay Bertrand, because
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: I call him Jeene Davis, you were right. I told
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: you that I ain't seen him, nor hair nor hide,
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: nor him, nor heard from Clay Bertrand other than one time.
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: I remember I was with Regis Kennedy up there. I
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: call him Jean. I was introduced to the man one time.
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: Wait the FBI agent.
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: Yeah, Bo's change appearance and perhaps change personnel with the
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: name changed. No, he was still the same. Fact I
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: always knew he still looked the same. No, No, he
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: has changed, he's fat like me, he's aged. Time has
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: gone by, this has been ten years or so. Blah
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: blah blah. Which testimony and statements enumerated above the said
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: Dean Andrews Junior then and there well knew were false
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: and untrue in which were related to matters material to
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: this issue and question under investigation, to wit a conspiracy
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: to murder John F. Kennedy. And this is of course
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: when Jim Garrison charged ten Andrews with perjury because he
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: said that Clay Burton was Gene Davis. Right now, Joe,
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: if you could, Joe has a little treat for everybody.
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: We're gonna hear from Leander Davey, who worked at the
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: Court of Two Sisters, which is a restaurant and to
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: which Gene Davis. Eugene Davis, the man who Dean Andrews
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: says was Klay bertrand managed. He didn't own it, but
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: he managed it. He would later go on to own
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: Wanda's bar. But Leander Davey is a very interesting character.
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: And I know I've talked about him on the show
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: before we had his HSCA testimony, But Joe managed to
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: find the audio of his HSCA testimony, So now we're
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: going to have a listen to that.
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: Yes, it is definitely good stuff. Before we do, Rob,
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: I want to I start a couple of comments. How
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: could he predict his future PO box number? And this
- 1:31:49Speaker 3: is a reference to that letter in nineteen sixty two,
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: like in June tenth, And the more I think of it, Rob,
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: it has to be nineteen sixty three.
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it's got to be a typo. It has to be.
- 1:32:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it has to be and that would make sense.
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: And uh, James with a great comment. And I wonder
- 1:32:08Speaker 3: if Gino why I think he means Dino was working
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: parallel cons lol and James or oh oh, But if
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: he meant Dino was Dino working? Was he like a
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: CD shady type of lawyer that was dealing with these
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: underworld possible HOMEO session types? Yet I know he was,
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: So was he working cons? I could almost guarantee it.
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I'm sure he was. He was taking money
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: and doing very little to earn it.
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: I'm sure, right, And if you know anything about a
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: good con, you need a lawyer in there somehow at
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: some point.
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: No other lawyer probably take these you know, fags and
- 1:32:55Speaker 2: prostitutes and drunks. And you know he was the horrible
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: he you know, he was no g ray Gill, you
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. Yeah, he was the dean.
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, And that's interesting too because like, uh yeah,
- 1:33:12Speaker 3: I look at at Dino kind of like at a
- 1:33:15Speaker 3: lower c level and obviousally g ray Gill, you know,
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: being the lawyer for a mafia boss, uh, representing him
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: in big cases. Yeah, so you're not going to bother
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: g ray Gill with this, with this silliness, right, You're
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: going to go to someone like Dino.
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't afford gray Guill bro.
- 1:33:34Speaker 3: Right, or he's not gonna even pick up your call
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: for this type of ship.
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: You pick it up if you got the money. But
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: I'm sure you know he wasn't cheap.
- 1:33:44Speaker 3: Yeah. So so that's a good point by James, because
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: I get I can almost rob and I just said
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: I almost guarantee that Dino was was working those those
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: low level commons, was uh for these type of people.
- 1:33:58Speaker 3: Makes it makes sense. So that's why we love our chat.
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: This week we keep adding on too to our theories,
- 1:34:06Speaker 3: and we had a couple more comments Rob that said
- 1:34:10Speaker 3: good theory, and he dropped it on me live. But
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: I could see it. It makes sense.
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: I'm reading through this shit and I just had an epiphany.
- 1:34:19Speaker 11: Dude.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: I was like, wait a minute, this all lines up
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: and I'm not even done yet. We got more after
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: we hear from Leander Davy. It's going to make you
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: go holy shit.
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: Even more so, especially Rob, when you consider the fracas
- 1:34:33Speaker 3: and people say it was staged, and also like, come on,
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: hit me Carlos, right, you know what I mean? Like
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: it kind of lines up with that. Yeah, And and
- 1:34:44Speaker 3: it lines up with John T. Martin. How the hell
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: did he know that this altercation was going to happen
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: to film it? If ls it was planned, it does
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: line up in a weird way that I had never
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: thought about. Very cool man, So yeah, I got it.
- 1:35:03Speaker 3: I did find the audio of I did find the
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: HACA testimony of Leander Davy. It is thirty four pages.
- 1:35:16Speaker 3: I read maybe the first five or six. Then I
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: found the audio and we gotta give credit Rob to
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: a couple time guests of the show, Fred Litwin for
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: this audio. Good guy for sure. And while a lot
- 1:35:34Speaker 3: of us might not agree with Fred, if you go
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: on his site, he has good audio and good documents
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: that you can't find many other places he does. You can't. Yeah,
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: you can disagree with his conclusions, but you can't say
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: he doesn't do what you know, the research and find
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: some interesting things. So this is from his YouTube channel
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: on the Trail of Delusion. So I just want to
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: give him his shout out just because we are going
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: to play his audio and uh, let me.
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: Find it. Hell, no background music, right, Jo.
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: No background music?
- 1:36:20Speaker 5: No?
- 1:36:21Speaker 7: Uh?
- 1:36:22Speaker 3: And you he has an interesting voice here.
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: I'm sure he does, all right.
- 1:36:32Speaker 7: So I just had to.
- 1:36:34Speaker 3: Change my tabs here and I might skip a couple
- 1:36:43Speaker 3: of seconds because some of it is boring, but I
- 1:36:46Speaker 3: mean the intro.
- 1:36:47Speaker 7: But yeah, responded interviewing and mister Neander, that's Capital.
- 1:36:57Speaker 8: D to guy who's responded here from Dean Richard Capital
- 1:37:04Speaker 8: D Capital RRI d d E or Louisiana in response
- 1:37:09Speaker 8: to what appears to be sorry Adams boned up.
- 1:37:15Speaker 12: In nineteen sixty I retired out of the Air Force
- 1:37:18Speaker 12: after twenty years.
- 1:37:19Speaker 7: Three months and thirteen days.
- 1:37:21Speaker 9: This is wherever and I went to work at the
- 1:37:23Speaker 9: four or two Sisters in New Orleans on Berger Street
- 1:37:25Speaker 9: as a dormant.
- 1:37:29Speaker 7: And one in.
- 1:37:31Speaker 9: Nineteen sixty two, the young man walks up to me
- 1:37:35Speaker 9: and I asked me, there's.
- 1:37:35Speaker 7: A clay Bird train working there. I told him I
- 1:37:39Speaker 7: don't know any clay Bird train working in and uh.
- 1:37:42Speaker 9: At the same time, the night manager, John Davis, was
- 1:37:46Speaker 9: in the tavern and I UH said, Jane, do we
- 1:37:51Speaker 9: have a clay Bird train working here? Jane said, so, now,
- 1:37:55Speaker 9: young man any here, I'll talk to him just like that.
- 1:37:57Speaker 9: So I said, I'm on an.
- 1:38:00Speaker 8: Ended.
- 1:38:00Speaker 7: The young man walks out, and Davis comes up to
- 1:38:04Speaker 7: the door where I'm standing, talked to the one.
- 1:38:06Speaker 9: Who waitresses, and then he says, see that young man
- 1:38:08Speaker 9: had just come from behind the iron curtain.
- 1:38:11Speaker 7: But I didn't put no assassination that together. It happened yet,
- 1:38:14Speaker 7: and I had the pen attention to it so well.
- 1:38:25Speaker 7: But one but also about two years.
- 1:38:31Speaker 9: I remember two weeks before the assassination, I was one
- 1:38:37Speaker 9: Saturday morning to go pick up my chick.
- 1:38:41Speaker 7: I walked into the.
- 1:38:44Speaker 9: Court Court is a patio restaurant to quarter to two
- 1:38:47Speaker 9: sister lay of the rectaurant, the Court of Two Sisters,
- 1:38:50Speaker 9: the petty restaurant. I walked him to the patio and
- 1:38:53Speaker 9: there's a little veranda out there. I walked on up there.
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: H I said, uh, one five.
- 1:39:01Speaker 7: Feet off the ground. Now, you're gonna got two weeks
- 1:39:03Speaker 7: before the assassinations, right, And I wasn't there to pick
- 1:39:08Speaker 7: up my check. So that's when he and Davis other
- 1:39:10Speaker 7: cities up there at the storeroom. So I run there
- 1:39:13Speaker 7: and one storeroom. I had a store I had a
- 1:39:16Speaker 7: little apartment of there, had a bat in it, had
- 1:39:19Speaker 7: five men in it. One of them was through. I
- 1:39:24Speaker 7: recognize that's the assassination, you know. He was flinging across
- 1:39:28Speaker 7: the bed. And one of was David Ferries, the pilot of.
- 1:39:31Speaker 9: The planet when its suicide. I said, David coming to
- 1:39:35Speaker 9: the Court two Sisters with the Cuban friend quite often.
- 1:39:39Speaker 9: And there was a bunch of Cubans working at the
- 1:39:41Speaker 9: Quarter two Sisters at the time.
- 1:39:44Speaker 7: And well, and I was sudden.
- 1:39:49Speaker 9: Guys Harold Saanda, he was the restaurant when uh Manwizia
- 1:39:54Speaker 9: and I used to be above on Bourbon Street. Who
- 1:39:58Speaker 9: was with this Cuban Peppy. They would go and go
- 1:40:01Speaker 9: everybody to go around, walk around, go to these kingdom places.
- 1:40:05Speaker 9: And then all of a sudden, I think Peppy and
- 1:40:11Speaker 9: Harold was looking for somebody at the time, and about
- 1:40:16Speaker 9: two weeks before years actually went on to get my check.
- 1:40:18Speaker 7: Get back up my story again.
- 1:40:21Speaker 3: And I'm around right now.
- 1:40:22Speaker 7: I be fall enough all night, all right, go ahead?
- 1:40:25Speaker 12: So uh, I went down to get my check and
- 1:40:29Speaker 12: so many as I go on a bet and there
- 1:40:31Speaker 12: was a guy and young Garson showed me my picture
- 1:40:34Speaker 12: and I recognized the guy too.
- 1:40:36Speaker 4: So on.
- 1:40:39Speaker 9: U s a seeone out fit tacky guys seeing cat
- 1:40:44Speaker 9: and whispers on his face, and I saw I saw
- 1:40:49Speaker 9: a guy before I didn't.
- 1:40:50Speaker 7: I didn't know at the time. I think I wasn't
- 1:40:54Speaker 7: talking about the manning. You know, this was in sixty eight,
- 1:40:57Speaker 7: this part.
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: You know, this guy made some kind of remark to me,
- 1:41:02Speaker 3: and I can't remember what it.
- 1:41:05Speaker 7: Wasn't that wasn't at remark, but I can't remember.
- 1:41:08Speaker 8: What it was.
- 1:41:10Speaker 7: When.
- 1:41:11Speaker 3: Now, are you saying this guy was at the meeting?
- 1:41:13Speaker 7: Were you said?
- 1:41:14Speaker 9: Were you saying that the Cuban Pepe and the guy
- 1:41:17Speaker 9: Sandoz were at the meeting also?
- 1:41:19Speaker 7: Well, they weren't there, but John Davis was up there
- 1:41:22Speaker 7: with him.
- 1:41:23Speaker 9: So in nineteen sixty, when I went home topless to
- 1:41:28Speaker 9: visit my mother.
- 1:41:30Speaker 7: I didn't I forgot about everything, you know it, and uh,
- 1:41:34Speaker 7: I don't think about it. You know it well, I
- 1:41:37Speaker 7: don't think that people that was involved in anything like that.
- 1:41:40Speaker 7: It hurt, so I want to think on an Uh.
- 1:41:46Speaker 9: I ran to my hometown paper, to the Afflusi's Daddy World,
- 1:41:49Speaker 9: which is local paper that.
- 1:41:53Speaker 7: I picture John Davis on the back using a paper
- 1:41:56Speaker 7: on to call his attorney, but John Garrison had him
- 1:41:59Speaker 7: in his hall asking him about it. I then a
- 1:42:03Speaker 7: man named Craig burtrain and asking him questions, you know.
- 1:42:06Speaker 9: And then I was denied and I going to the
- 1:42:09Speaker 9: news and I no, I over heard of Clay birtrainer.
- 1:42:12Speaker 9: I over heard him ever seeing you all the.
- 1:42:15Speaker 7: As So h I go back to Jackson, Mississippi, where
- 1:42:21Speaker 7: I was living.
- 1:42:23Speaker 9: I called anew the HMRA, a friend of mine was
- 1:42:25Speaker 9: working at the time as an assistant.
- 1:42:27Speaker 7: To Jim Garrison. Mama, I told what I knew. I
- 1:42:32Speaker 7: haven't paid no bus.
- 1:42:34Speaker 9: Fare from from Jackson, Mississippi to New Orleans, putting up
- 1:42:37Speaker 9: for two nights in the Founty room of a hotel and.
- 1:42:41Speaker 7: And I, you know, and I ate there and everything,
- 1:42:43Speaker 7: and they are paid because they wanted it.
- 1:42:46Speaker 4: All on two.
- 1:42:48Speaker 7: And her, uh, let's get it back. And then you
- 1:42:53Speaker 7: said there were five people with this meeting.
- 1:42:55Speaker 3: Yeah, so this is forty minutes long. Yeah, I'm going
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: to put the link in the chat right now here
- 1:43:07Speaker 3: for anyone that wants to listen after the show. Of course,
- 1:43:12Speaker 3: to the rest of it, I only listen to ten
- 1:43:15Speaker 3: minutes of it, but very interesting in the bertrand stuff.
- 1:43:18Speaker 2: And Davis and all that jazz.
- 1:43:23Speaker 3: Right was he saying Oswalt was in New Orleans two
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: weeks before the assassination.
- 1:43:29Speaker 2: Yeah, he was up there, laying across the bed. And
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: Jean Davis is a toolshit or workshop whatever whatever was
- 1:43:40Speaker 2: going on up there.
- 1:43:41Speaker 3: Right Jeene Davis also a homosexual?
- 1:43:44Speaker 7: Right?
- 1:43:45Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, big one. So so to make this
- 1:43:51Speaker 2: make more sense and for you to understand where I'm
- 1:43:54Speaker 2: going with all this, yes, I came across another document, Joe,
- 1:44:00Speaker 2: and this is from March of nineteen sixty eight to
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: Jim Garrison from Harold Wiseberg. Okay, concerning Mom's society fags.
- 1:44:10Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Mom's society page and Oswald. Sorry, all these
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: words just look the same. Although Dean Andrews, who had
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: told me he had heard that a young man Oswald
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: has quote sold tricks for twenty dollars at the old
- 1:44:31Speaker 2: Society Page, which he incorrectly said had burned down, also
- 1:44:36Speaker 2: said Mom would toss me out if I tried to
- 1:44:38Speaker 2: speak to her. I found that she would talk a little.
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: Aside from the obvious problem, there was another. There was
- 1:44:46Speaker 2: another her conviction that quote, I don't know anything, get
- 1:44:51Speaker 2: the fuck out of here end quote. What makes it
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: difficult to make her see that a tiny fragment of
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: truth to her has no signific against might actually be important.
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: I also spoke to Johnny Kamundi. He's a gay bartender,
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: she says, is completely honest and has been with her
- 1:45:18Speaker 2: for seven years. He works the morning shift. He was
- 1:45:21Speaker 2: thus at the old place. Both remember Oswald from there.
- 1:45:26Speaker 2: Johnny says the opposite of Andrews. He recalls that Oswald
- 1:45:29Speaker 2: was a hustler, but recalls none of the girls. Mom
- 1:45:35Speaker 2: lived in the same building one six Exchange Place and
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: on the same floor as the Oswald's at the same
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: time with her son's apartment between them. According to Johnny,
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: although he saw little of Oswald, he is confident it
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: is not in the Andrews cast role. Mom worked the
- 1:45:58Speaker 2: night shift and in those days to seven am and
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: says she never saw Oswald there. Then this is overnight.
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: Of course, Mom had a delicate brain operation a year
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: ago for the removal of a tumor. It seems to
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: have denied her recollection of the preceding year or year
- 1:46:15Speaker 2: and a half. She here expressed her trust in Johnny
- 1:46:19Speaker 2: by saying that when her son asked if he should
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: check the register, she told him no. I explained to
- 1:46:25Speaker 2: Mom and Johnny both my apprehensions about the two most
- 1:46:29Speaker 2: likely next scapegoats, as I have to you. Here we
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: went into what Andrews did to Geene Davis. We were
- 1:46:39Speaker 2: also talking about the fact of the assassination of the
- 1:46:42Speaker 2: danger from the fake inquest to the country. Whatever one
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: of these things, or whatever combination caused it, I don't know.
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: But this old gal, this tough old Goal, wept like
- 1:46:55Speaker 2: a crying donkey. I gather she is either ready to
- 1:47:00Speaker 2: believe or convinced that Shaw is Bertrand. She did not
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: identify him as a customer, and said he traveled on
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: a different level. She laughingly said her clientele considers Shawl
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: and his kind as quote drapery salesladies end quote. She
- 1:47:18Speaker 2: identified only two known Shawl hangouts, and her suggestions for
- 1:47:22Speaker 2: further checking the Galley House, Uh and Lamarino. She knew
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: nothing about the incident. Ivan Cottman told me he had
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: seen repeated often shaw glancing into Lafitte's bar and then
- 1:47:36Speaker 2: hurrying off pure Lafite. Yeah, oh, or the pirate it was,
- 1:47:45Speaker 2: you know. I got to the society page in time
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: to see Mom order a very drunk, very gay man
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: out after he lost his balance from an early morning drunk.
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: It was then not yet eleven am. She can and
- 1:47:58Speaker 2: she can be a little rough at times with him
- 1:48:02Speaker 2: were a pair of similar gaze. One, however, particularly drew
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: my attention because he bears so close a face towards
- 1:48:08Speaker 2: semblance to Dego Garner in face only. Uh. This guy
- 1:48:16Speaker 2: was much heavier, a very broad man whose back hair
- 1:48:20Speaker 2: ends curl upwards like a drake cut. He was soft
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: spoken and polite, but looked very tough and very drunk.
- 1:48:29Speaker 2: I was particularly interested in this because several people told
- 1:48:32Speaker 2: me they recognized the Garner picture but were uncertain why
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: could this would be his doppelganger one Ophelia referred to
- 1:48:42Speaker 2: the eyes and on this man too, there was a
- 1:48:44Speaker 2: similar look in the eyes as Diego. That's right. Johnny
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: seemed to be in his thirties. He is a well built,
- 1:48:53Speaker 2: neat man, about five nine, with a pronounced pug nose
- 1:48:57Speaker 2: and profile. I repeated the question about Oswald selling tricks,
- 1:49:01Speaker 2: and he gave the same answer, adding I'm just not sure.
- 1:49:06Speaker 2: It was a long time ago. He didn't come around
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: too much in the nighttime. This is an inference that
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: he knew Oswald was there during the day, which Tom disputes.
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: Johnny also said he saw Oswald often in White's pool hall. Okay,
- 1:49:26Speaker 2: now you might be thinking yourself, what in the fuck
- 1:49:28Speaker 2: is going on here? Well, uh, everybody remembers the episode.
- 1:49:35Speaker 2: Hey I almost fucked Lee Harvey Oswald? Do you remember
- 1:49:39Speaker 2: that one? Joe vaguely? Yeah, it was. It was an
- 1:49:45Speaker 2: account from a guy who picked Lee Harvey Oswald up
- 1:49:51Speaker 2: in Lafayette Park because he was turning thank you. Yes, yeah, yeah,
- 1:49:56Speaker 2: it was a hot day. You know, there's a nice
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: pants you got on there, so you know. So this
- 1:50:03Speaker 2: accusation seems to back up that Oswald Okay, in his
- 1:50:08Speaker 2: early teen years was a hustler, which makes sense because
- 1:50:17Speaker 2: how else is this kid getting money. You know, his
- 1:50:24Speaker 2: mom wasn't making much money or giving him money, right,
- 1:50:29Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, he had some shitty jobs here and there, supposedly,
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: But you know, this kid is growing up in the
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: CD places around New Orleans, his whole life around these
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: CD characters, and it would be easy for me to
- 1:50:44Speaker 2: believe that he could get drawn in gay scene and
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: turned tricks for ten or twenty you know, ten or
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: twenty bucks.
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: Twenty bucks is two hundred bucks plus, you know, so right,
- 1:51:01Speaker 3: it's not nothing two hundred bucks you know if you
- 1:51:04Speaker 3: do a couple of tricks to day.
- 1:51:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: And now.
- 1:51:13Speaker 2: I read Wednesday night a statement from Dean Andrews investigator
- 1:51:25Speaker 2: Prentice Davis Okay, who corroborated Dean andrews story that Oswald
- 1:51:34Speaker 2: visited his Dean Andrews office at least four or four
- 1:51:38Speaker 2: or five times in the summer of sixty three, and
- 1:51:42Speaker 2: each time he was in the company of some Gaze
- 1:51:47Speaker 2: and some Latinos.
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: Or Latinos.
- 1:51:54Speaker 2: They were both and Andrews even said we had a
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: little swish in his step, if you know what I'm saying,
- 1:52:03Speaker 2: and these are the type of people that would go
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: to Dean Andrews right for help because they you know,
- 1:52:14Speaker 2: this whole underground scene of hustlers and these people like that,
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: this is who you know Andrews would help or try
- 1:52:27Speaker 2: to help or say it would help, take their money
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: and whatever. Right, this guy was the only option.
- 1:52:34Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:52:37Speaker 2: So if you put Oswald in this scene when he's
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: growing up in New Orleans, in this whole mill year,
- 1:52:51Speaker 2: you know, it makes sense that you know, he's hustling.
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: He's hustling from the very beginning of his early teen years,
- 1:52:59Speaker 2: and he's just got a different hustle once he comes
- 1:53:04Speaker 2: back to New Orleans, you know, after he's married. Now
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: it's a different hustle. He doesn't associate with anybody that
- 1:53:13Speaker 2: he used to associate with. You got all these other
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: gay dudes hanging around banished his office, you know, like Fairy,
- 1:53:23Speaker 2: you know child predator Fairy. You know he liked young
- 1:53:26Speaker 2: teen boys. You know Oswell was in the cap thing.
- 1:53:31Speaker 2: They definitely knew each other.
- 1:53:34Speaker 3: Can I stop you? So? Are you saying that Oswald
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: or possibly was running the tricks hustle as a teenager
- 1:53:46Speaker 3: before he went in the Marines and not when he
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: came back to New Orleans in sixty three.
- 1:53:51Speaker 2: Yeah, before he went in the Marines.
- 1:53:53Speaker 3: Okay, good, okay, because we had.
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: He's like fifteen, sixteen years old.
- 1:53:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Cammy said a comment I started, I can't
- 1:54:02Speaker 3: see Lee doing that. Hell, he would not go down
- 1:54:06Speaker 3: on Marina even so, again, this is a different.
- 1:54:09Speaker 2: You have to imagine what Marina smelled.
- 1:54:11Speaker 3: Like down there, and it is a different part of
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: his life too, you know, probably I don't want to
- 1:54:19Speaker 3: say more desperate, but a different desperate part of his life.
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I'm not saying, you know,
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: day the twenty dollars is twenty dollars, you know, back then,
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: And if that's what you're around, I mean this mom
- 1:54:39Speaker 2: woman ran a fucking whorehouse for gay men, basically is
- 1:54:46Speaker 2: what it was, and lived right next to him. So
- 1:54:50Speaker 2: he was around this shit all the time.
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: And it would make sense of how maybe when he
- 1:54:57Speaker 3: came back to the Wardons, how he reconnected with Fairy
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: or how he got put back in touch.
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: Or knew to go to Dino right or New Jet
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: or New uh. Because you know, unless unless Dean Andrews
- 1:55:16Speaker 2: really did pull the name Clay Bertrand out of thin air,
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: which I doubt either clay Shaw's Clay Bertrand or Gene
- 1:55:25Speaker 2: Davis is clay Bertrand, right, And who do you think
- 1:55:30Speaker 2: would be like a fairy fag father, you know, to
- 1:55:35Speaker 2: all these misguided youth around New Orleans and and and
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: all these different uh you know, cd underworld gay types, hustlers,
- 1:55:48Speaker 2: you know, and there's all I mean, there's tons and
- 1:55:52Speaker 2: tons of instances of of clay Shaw going to these
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: hustle places and and I mean it's it's all over
- 1:56:01Speaker 2: the place in these uh, in these Garrison documents. And
- 1:56:08Speaker 2: when you when you take everything into consideration, only then
- 1:56:15Speaker 2: does it start to make sense when you look at
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: the big picture. Like he said, these small snippets doesn't
- 1:56:20Speaker 2: mean much on its own, right, Right, you can go
- 1:56:23Speaker 2: nuts doing that, right, But if you start we have
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: we know, you know, if Oswald would have known, uh,
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: Gene Davis, you know, from from his early Setier days,
- 1:56:36Speaker 2: and you know Gene Davis was this clay Bertran guy
- 1:56:40Speaker 2: who would send these troubled youth to Dean Andrews, you know,
- 1:56:45Speaker 2: and when the when the assassination went down. It makes
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: sense that Geene Davis would have called Andrews and you know,
- 1:56:51Speaker 2: hey man, you got to go to Dallas and help
- 1:56:52Speaker 2: this kid, mm hm thing.
- 1:56:56Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, And of course the uh I guess what
- 1:57:00Speaker 3: the cover or what we've been told is that Oswalt
- 1:57:05Speaker 3: was going to Dino to try to get his dishonorable
- 1:57:10Speaker 3: discharge changed. Right, so he and goes back to Oswalt
- 1:57:16Speaker 3: trying to gain the system. He was not getting as
- 1:57:21Speaker 3: much I don't know if his benefits or whatever because
- 1:57:25Speaker 3: of his dishonorable discharge, which of course they changed when
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: he went to Russia. He was pissed about that. And
- 1:57:31Speaker 3: that's of course how you get his letters to Connolly,
- 1:57:33Speaker 3: who was the Secretary of the Navy at that time.
- 1:57:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Because listen to this all right, So I tease
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: this a little bit. Wednesday night.
- 1:57:44Speaker 9: This was.
- 1:57:46Speaker 2: An interview with William Morris. Okay, one of Oliver Stone's
- 1:57:52Speaker 2: inspirations for Willie O'Keefe.
- 1:57:54Speaker 3: Yes, William, Willie makes sense to me, Billy, all.
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: Right, hang well, jentlem me take a quick drink of
- 1:58:04Speaker 2: water before temper.
- 1:58:06Speaker 3: Sure, sure, I'm gonna add a star comment or two.
- 1:58:10Speaker 3: Trey a little while ago Osma was making money passing
- 1:58:13Speaker 3: out leaflet was making more money passing out leaflets than
- 1:58:17Speaker 3: working at Riley Foods. And this brings me back to
- 1:58:20Speaker 3: the correspondence we read, what did he request every time
- 1:58:25Speaker 3: he sent a letter.
- 1:58:27Speaker 2: More material literature?
- 1:58:29Speaker 7: Yes?
- 1:58:31Speaker 3: What was he doing with that?
- 1:58:32Speaker 7: Was?
- 1:58:32Speaker 3: I mean giving some out the leaflets? But was he
- 1:58:36Speaker 3: did he have a side hustle of selling.
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: It's almost like a Ponzi scheme, you know, it's a
- 1:58:45Speaker 2: very shitty Ponzi scheme.
- 1:58:47Speaker 3: I mean yeah, And based on what we just read
- 1:58:50Speaker 3: in his correspondence in nineteen sixty three asking for literature
- 1:58:53Speaker 3: from the worker the Communist Party FBCC, I've heard crazier
- 1:59:01Speaker 3: things and I just want to touch on that real quick,
- 1:59:08Speaker 3: good good point track and yeah, Timothy rough Trade.
- 1:59:13Speaker 2: Yeah all right, So let's get back to Willie Morris.
- 1:59:18Speaker 2: This interview is conducted with mister Morris, an inmate at
- 1:59:21Speaker 2: said institution. He's in the wind State Farm, Texas Department
- 1:59:28Speaker 2: of Corrections and they have to go there to interview him.
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: So they start out, would you like to What we
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: would like to know first is if we could Bill,
- 1:59:39Speaker 2: are you called Bill or Billy? Billy all right, this
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: incident about your introduction to Clay shaw How did you
- 1:59:47Speaker 2: meet Clay Shawl in New Orleans? Well, I met a
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: man introduced to me is Clay Bertrand. You met at
- 1:59:54Speaker 2: Clay Bertrand. I met at Clay Bertrand. The name Clay
- 1:59:58Speaker 2: Shawl was never mentioned or used to me. All right, Well,
- 2:00:03Speaker 2: can you tell me the circumstances of meeting mister Bertrand,
- 2:00:06Speaker 2: I certainly can. I met him at the masquerade bar.
- 2:00:10Speaker 2: I was taken there by Gene Davis for the express
- 2:00:12Speaker 2: reason to meet him. All right, when was this? I
- 2:00:17Speaker 2: was sometime I think June fifty eight, maybe June fifty eight.
- 2:00:22Speaker 2: And what was the occasion of the masquerade ball? I
- 2:00:25Speaker 2: didn't say ball, I said bar, masquerade bar. Oh, I
- 2:00:30Speaker 2: beg your pardon. It's on Saint Louis Street. It's a
- 2:00:33Speaker 2: homosexual hand okay, it's now when I left called the cove,
- 2:00:39Speaker 2: it changed names, the cove covee uh huh. It's on
- 2:00:45Speaker 2: Saint Louis Street, between Bourbon and Dauphine. Now, why was
- 2:00:49Speaker 2: Gene Davis interested in introducing you to Bertrand? Well, for
- 2:00:53Speaker 2: sexual purposes? Of course, it was for sexual purposes. That's right.
- 2:01:02Speaker 2: There wasn't anything else, suggested newp Okay. Now, then, what
- 2:01:07Speaker 2: age were you at that time? I was a ripe
- 2:01:10Speaker 2: young eighteen. You were eighteen? And where did you live
- 2:01:14Speaker 2: in New Orleans at the time. Oh, I was living
- 2:01:18Speaker 2: on Dauphine Street, right across from the street from the
- 2:01:20Speaker 2: Dauphine Restaurant, a little old hole in the wall. There's
- 2:01:24Speaker 2: a little apartment house there. I was living with a
- 2:01:26Speaker 2: guy named Art Art. He worked for Geene Davis at
- 2:01:31Speaker 2: the Court of Two Sisters Geene Davis at that time.
- 2:01:33Speaker 2: I read in the paper about it, naturally, but they
- 2:01:35Speaker 2: say he owns a Wanda's bar now, but at that
- 2:01:38Speaker 2: time he just worked for the Court of Two Sisters.
- 2:01:40Speaker 2: He didn't know nothing. He didn't own a car. What
- 2:01:44Speaker 2: was he doing at the Court of Two Sisters? Some
- 2:01:47Speaker 2: kind of matre d a doll man or something. He
- 2:01:50Speaker 2: wasn't just any everyday bimmy, you know. He offered to
- 2:01:52Speaker 2: give me a job, and I'm sorry I didn't go
- 2:01:54Speaker 2: to work, to be honest with you, I was making
- 2:01:57Speaker 2: too much money hustling, okay. And he introduced you to
- 2:02:01Speaker 2: Clay Bertrand now have you identified in your own mind?
- 2:02:04Speaker 2: Clay Bertrand from pictures that you've seen in the paper
- 2:02:07Speaker 2: or did you ever I never even seen the picture
- 2:02:12Speaker 2: in the paper, to be honest with you. I mean
- 2:02:13Speaker 2: I seen him on TV once and I thought, well, maybe,
- 2:02:17Speaker 2: oh he looks like well somebody i'd be interested. Well,
- 2:02:21Speaker 2: I thought it was somebody I tricked with when I
- 2:02:23Speaker 2: was in New Orleans. And then I kept thinking, when
- 2:02:27Speaker 2: did you see him on TV? Oh, it's been a
- 2:02:30Speaker 2: long time ago, three four months now, and what connection? Well,
- 2:02:35Speaker 2: just something about Jim Gears and stuff. They had me
- 2:02:38Speaker 2: coming out of the they had him coming out of
- 2:02:41Speaker 2: the Oh, he didn't say nothing. He was just going
- 2:02:44Speaker 2: in something, you know, in a building, Yeah, in a building.
- 2:02:49Speaker 2: I just seen him. Then. What you say, then, is
- 2:02:55Speaker 2: that you saw on television several months ago photographs of
- 2:02:58Speaker 2: a man going in or out of a court bit
- 2:03:00Speaker 2: and this was the man you knew is clay Shaw
- 2:03:02Speaker 2: Clay Bertrand it looked a lot like him. I'll say
- 2:03:05Speaker 2: that seeing a man on television seeing him in real
- 2:03:09Speaker 2: life might make a difference, if you know what I'm saying. Yes, sure,
- 2:03:16Speaker 2: sure was he on television as clay Shaw was a
- 2:03:19Speaker 2: reference made to him on television as clay Shaw. Yes, yes,
- 2:03:24Speaker 2: this man was identified on television at the time as
- 2:03:27Speaker 2: clay Shaw as clay Shaw, as clay Shaw. I see
- 2:03:34Speaker 2: they said he was a New Orleans businessman or something.
- 2:03:36Speaker 2: He told me he worked for General Electric. He can
- 2:03:39Speaker 2: start my engine anytime. I remember that.
- 2:03:44Speaker 3: All right?
- 2:03:45Speaker 2: You met him at the Masquerade Bar? Yes? Where did
- 2:03:48Speaker 2: you go with him? From there? We went to Geene
- 2:03:51Speaker 2: Davis's apartment. Okay, was this at night or in the daytime?
- 2:03:56Speaker 2: This was at night. Do you remember where Geene davis
- 2:03:59Speaker 2: Is apartment was. I remember where it was, but not
- 2:04:03Speaker 2: the exact address. It was two or three doors down
- 2:04:07Speaker 2: further from the court of the Two Sisters on the
- 2:04:10Speaker 2: even side of Bourbon. Of course, six ten or six twelve.
- 2:04:14Speaker 2: I believe it could have been six or eight or
- 2:04:16Speaker 2: six fourteen. You understand what I mean. Yeah? And did
- 2:04:21Speaker 2: you go up there with Clay bertrand Clay Bertrand yes,
- 2:04:26Speaker 2: we went in a little efficiency. It was a little
- 2:04:28Speaker 2: efficiency apartment. I had been there before with Gene Davis
- 2:04:31Speaker 2: of course. All right. Now, did you ever see him
- 2:04:35Speaker 2: after that? I seen him? Well, yeah, yeah, I saw
- 2:04:38Speaker 2: him two more times when we went to Gene Davis's apartment.
- 2:04:42Speaker 2: I saw him on mister Boone's boat, and then he
- 2:04:45Speaker 2: entered my apartment one night by mistake. But that would
- 2:04:48Speaker 2: just take a little explaining to explain that, if you
- 2:04:50Speaker 2: know what I mean. All right, Uh, you saw him
- 2:04:54Speaker 2: twice more Davis's apartment, now, Sir, at the masquerade, and
- 2:04:58Speaker 2: we went to Davis's apartment. We always met at the
- 2:05:01Speaker 2: masquerade to have a drink to loosen things up. You
- 2:05:03Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. I don't even think he drank.
- 2:05:06Speaker 2: I don't remember. But then we went to Jean Jean
- 2:05:08Speaker 2: Davis's little apartment. You think he didn't drink. I can't
- 2:05:13Speaker 2: remember whether he drank beer or what I know, Gene
- 2:05:16Speaker 2: Davis was a lush, I mean a lush. He drank
- 2:05:19Speaker 2: some you know what I mean. You met him on
- 2:05:23Speaker 2: Boone's boat too, you said, on a guy named Bill
- 2:05:27Speaker 2: Boone's boat. Matter of fact, Gene Davis is the one
- 2:05:30Speaker 2: who introduced me to Bill Boone. What kind of boat
- 2:05:34Speaker 2: was it? Do you recall? All I recalled It was
- 2:05:37Speaker 2: a big ass boat. It was big, you know, for
- 2:05:39Speaker 2: a boat, but it was it was big to me.
- 2:05:42Speaker 2: It was I think Jean said it was eighty foot long.
- 2:05:47Speaker 2: So it was a yacht done it? Oh it was
- 2:05:49Speaker 2: a seaguing yacht. Yeah, it could go, you know it
- 2:05:52Speaker 2: can go. What did Bill Boone do? What did Bill
- 2:05:58Speaker 2: Boone do? I don't know.
- 2:06:01Speaker 7: He just.
- 2:06:03Speaker 2: All right, he never did tell me. I never. But
- 2:06:07Speaker 2: you knew bone Boone though, Why yes, I know, mister Boone.
- 2:06:12Speaker 2: All right? Can you describe physically to me the man
- 2:06:15Speaker 2: you knew is Clay Bertrand how tall was he? You're
- 2:06:17Speaker 2: six foot one? How tall are you? Well, he was
- 2:06:23Speaker 2: not quite as tall as Now wait just a minute.
- 2:06:25Speaker 2: How tall are you? I'm about six foot six foot
- 2:06:29Speaker 2: and a half, all right? And then how tall was
- 2:06:32Speaker 2: he in relation to you? Well, he was well, actually
- 2:06:38Speaker 2: he was about my size, maybe a little bigger. Only
- 2:06:42Speaker 2: you know, he wasn't skinny. He was built good if
- 2:06:45Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. Yes, but this motion flipping
- 2:06:50Speaker 2: elbows doesn't translate. Well, how about your height, Well, it's
- 2:07:00Speaker 2: about my size, about my height. And he was built
- 2:07:03Speaker 2: like a weightlifter, you know what I mean. He'd throw
- 2:07:05Speaker 2: you all around the room. I understand. Well, I've got
- 2:07:10Speaker 2: a little old pigeon chest. He's got, you know what
- 2:07:12Speaker 2: I mean, a nice big old bell chest. You know,
- 2:07:15Speaker 2: something you can just grab onto you. I understand. What
- 2:07:19Speaker 2: color eyes did he have? Oh my god, I'm sorry,
- 2:07:24Speaker 2: but I really don't remember that. All right? How he
- 2:07:28Speaker 2: wears hair? How was it cut like yours? Well? How's
- 2:07:34Speaker 2: mind cut? I mean to be of any value on
- 2:07:36Speaker 2: the tape, we have to have that, well, kind of
- 2:07:40Speaker 2: a bushy crew cut, something like that, bushy crew cut. Okay,
- 2:07:44Speaker 2: what color was it? Oh? Grayish brown, grayish, reddish brown?
- 2:07:50Speaker 2: All right? Did he ever wear glasses during the time
- 2:07:53Speaker 2: he saw him? I couldn't say one way or the
- 2:07:55Speaker 2: other on that. About how much do you think you weighed?
- 2:08:01Speaker 2: I don't know, about one hundred eighty one hundred and ninety.
- 2:08:07Speaker 2: What's the longest time you were with him? I mean
- 2:08:09Speaker 2: in closest relationship like we're sitting here now, or as
- 2:08:12Speaker 2: you might at a bar. Well, we never hung around
- 2:08:16Speaker 2: the masquerade much after the drink. We just had one
- 2:08:19Speaker 2: drink or two and then split. You understand, I'd say
- 2:08:22Speaker 2: about a period of three hours or so is what
- 2:08:25Speaker 2: our sessions would last. WHOA about three hours? All right?
- 2:08:30Speaker 2: Did you say you met him for sexual purposes? Did
- 2:08:32Speaker 2: he pay you for this? Twenty dollars make you holler.
- 2:08:37Speaker 2: He paid you twenty dollars each time, no prearranged agreement,
- 2:08:42Speaker 2: He just Jeane told me it was a good score.
- 2:08:44Speaker 2: Don't count don't count on him for nothing. What did
- 2:08:48Speaker 2: the sexual practices consist of? Would you mind describing them
- 2:08:52Speaker 2: for me to open our effort to identify the man? Yes? A, well,
- 2:09:16Speaker 2: actually it makes no difference to me because it's no
- 2:09:18Speaker 2: secret with me. I'm down here on a homosexual offense,
- 2:09:21Speaker 2: and it's no secret to me. To him, maybe it
- 2:09:24Speaker 2: might be, well, I don't know the terms to use
- 2:09:27Speaker 2: legal terms, but he just fucked me, you see. No,
- 2:09:31Speaker 2: all right, it was antal intercourse, then antal intercourse. Yeah,
- 2:09:39Speaker 2: that's the legal term. That's what you that's the legal term.
- 2:09:44Speaker 3: Vagrancy I think was the charge.
- 2:09:48Speaker 2: How did it consist of anything else? Well, he always says,
- 2:09:52Speaker 2: I remember it. That was just about it. He just
- 2:09:56Speaker 2: fucked me. Well, it wasn't exactly the most butchersed thing
- 2:09:59Speaker 2: in the world. You know, he was a homosexual by that,
- 2:10:01Speaker 2: I mean you know, he wasn't a feminine fag or anything.
- 2:10:04Speaker 2: He just liked the fuck. Yeah, okay, Now, then in
- 2:10:15Speaker 2: his conversations with you, did he ever disclose anything that
- 2:10:18Speaker 2: would lead you to believe what type of work he
- 2:10:20Speaker 2: was engaged in. No anything about his personal life. Now
- 2:10:26Speaker 2: you mean where he lived. He told me he lived
- 2:10:29Speaker 2: with his mother. That's why we went to Genie Davis's place.
- 2:10:32Speaker 2: All the guy there in time, And that's the natural thing.
- 2:10:34Speaker 2: People live with their mothers, or maybe they're even married
- 2:10:38Speaker 2: or have a wife. Who knows. He didn't want to
- 2:10:40Speaker 2: take me home with him. It's fine. What was a
- 2:10:44Speaker 2: man's age? Well, he was in his He looked me
- 2:10:47Speaker 2: about his middle thirties. But he had a very nice
- 2:10:51Speaker 2: physique for a man that age, if you understand what
- 2:10:54Speaker 2: I mean. I don't remember if he had any tattoos
- 2:10:56Speaker 2: or scars. It's kind of hard to see when he's
- 2:10:59Speaker 2: behind me. What kind of voice did he have? Was
- 2:11:04Speaker 2: it like mine or yours or mister Martin's or was
- 2:11:07Speaker 2: he harsh in his speech? Oh? Well that's hard, I
- 2:11:12Speaker 2: know it's been a long time. Well, I mean he
- 2:11:16Speaker 2: never said heard or Node or di or Dad? He
- 2:11:20Speaker 2: spoken good English? Oh he's spoken good English. Well, maybe
- 2:11:25Speaker 2: we can help rather than say he had a voice
- 2:11:27Speaker 2: like yours or mine? Did he have a high voice
- 2:11:29Speaker 2: or a low voice? He wasn't one of them high
- 2:11:34Speaker 2: darling in the feminine voice type of homosexuals. If you
- 2:11:36Speaker 2: know what I mean. This guy was a john that
- 2:11:40Speaker 2: looked just looking to fuck. If you meet him on
- 2:11:43Speaker 2: the street, you never snap. You could go fishing with him,
- 2:11:45Speaker 2: play poker with him. I don't know if he plays
- 2:11:48Speaker 2: poker or anything, but you've never snapped in a million years.
- 2:11:53Speaker 2: Don't get me wrong when I say he's a homosexual.
- 2:11:55Speaker 2: He's not one of those. But you know what I mean,
- 2:11:58Speaker 2: limp risks. He was a butcher, and I mean butch.
- 2:12:04Speaker 2: Was he a cultured man? Was he a working man?
- 2:12:06Speaker 2: This is the thing I mean about his voice. He
- 2:12:08Speaker 2: can usually tell what type of economic life a man
- 2:12:12Speaker 2: leads by the way he talks. That's what I'm after.
- 2:12:16Speaker 2: Oh well, i'd make book. He went to college. He
- 2:12:20Speaker 2: didn't dress like one. He dressed nice now, Gene Davis,
- 2:12:24Speaker 2: he dressed like a slob. He made dress nice now
- 2:12:27Speaker 2: that he has that bard got a little money. But
- 2:12:29Speaker 2: back then he dressed like a slob. Actually he was
- 2:12:32Speaker 2: a slob. Not that I've got anything against him or anything.
- 2:12:36Speaker 3: Not that there's anything wrong with that. We've got a
- 2:12:40Speaker 3: couple of comments, but Trey, Thank you, sir, the tandel
- 2:12:43Speaker 3: our super chat. Rob promised and delivered. Yes, Sam is
- 2:12:50Speaker 3: signing and is hiding in plain sight, but Rob saw it.
- 2:12:59Speaker 2: I've never seen Gene Davis. Would you describe him to me?
- 2:13:01Speaker 2: How tall would you say Gene Davis is? Well, he's
- 2:13:04Speaker 2: shorter than I am, definitely shorter. How much shorter? Oh,
- 2:13:09Speaker 2: not a great deal. He's not a short man, but
- 2:13:11Speaker 2: he's not a tall man either. He might be great
- 2:13:14Speaker 2: hitted now, but he had cold black hair then, and
- 2:13:16Speaker 2: he's a black headed person with black eyebrows and black
- 2:13:20Speaker 2: eyes and black pubic hair. And he was kind of
- 2:13:23Speaker 2: hairy on his arms as well.
- 2:13:28Speaker 7: Well.
- 2:13:29Speaker 2: How tall would you say? He was five five five ten? Well,
- 2:13:32Speaker 2: he was about five eight and a half or nine
- 2:13:34Speaker 2: or ten? Not no midget. How much did he weigh?
- 2:13:41Speaker 2: He had false teeth?
- 2:13:46Speaker 3: How is that an answer to that question?
- 2:13:48Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:13:49Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 2:13:51Speaker 2: He had at that time false teeth. If he had some,
- 2:13:54Speaker 2: then he's got to have some now you don't grow
- 2:13:56Speaker 2: him again.
- 2:13:57Speaker 3: It's true, true.
- 2:13:58Speaker 2: I guess I just might as well go on and
- 2:14:00Speaker 2: get mine, all right, he had false teeth. He's about
- 2:14:03Speaker 2: five and a ha eat and a half. Or five nine.
- 2:14:06Speaker 2: And how much did he weigh? I'm not too good
- 2:14:09Speaker 2: at guessing weights, but I'll say best I can say
- 2:14:12Speaker 2: about one hundred and sixty pounds soaking wet, about one
- 2:14:16Speaker 2: hundred and sixty. He wasn't exactly fat. He had a
- 2:14:19Speaker 2: little pooch though, he had a little what he had
- 2:14:23Speaker 2: a little pooch pooch, He had a little poach. What
- 2:14:27Speaker 2: does that mean? A little belly?
- 2:14:30Speaker 8: Belly?
- 2:14:31Speaker 3: God?
- 2:14:36Speaker 2: But you get the idea, right, Yeah, And this goes on.
- 2:14:43Speaker 2: I'm trying to see if there's anything else juice I good,
- 2:14:49Speaker 2: but mmmm, I mean there's probably a good another five
- 2:15:09Speaker 2: pages of interview. But you get the point, all right,
- 2:15:13Speaker 2: you get the point. These guys were hustling, slinging dick
- 2:15:20Speaker 2: everywhere in the French quarter back then in New Orleans.
- 2:15:27Speaker 2: They were getting down and dirty all over the place.
- 2:15:31Speaker 2: And it's not out of the rumbant possibility that Lee
- 2:15:34Speaker 2: Harvey Oswell could have gotten sucked into this pardoner punt.
- 2:15:38Speaker 7: Uh.
- 2:15:40Speaker 2: You know it's at some point, you know, for money,
- 2:15:45Speaker 2: quick it's quick money, it's what it is.
- 2:15:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not possibility.
- 2:15:53Speaker 2: If you live with yourself, you know afterwards, you know
- 2:15:57Speaker 2: who gives a ship, you know, you know what I mean,
- 2:15:59Speaker 2: Like Oswald didn't seem like the type of person that
- 2:16:01Speaker 2: gives a shit about what other people think about him,
- 2:16:03Speaker 2: you know what I mean. He did not know, So
- 2:16:08Speaker 2: I mean it's just yeah, it's insane. It's insane. So
- 2:16:14Speaker 2: I mean, just painting the picture for you. You got
- 2:16:16Speaker 2: to take in the entire freaking picture, right.
- 2:16:20Speaker 3: The hustler mentality almost in New Orleans, yes, right, like
- 2:16:24Speaker 3: do whatever you can to survive, to make your money,
- 2:16:28Speaker 3: right whatever.
- 2:16:31Speaker 2: Yeah, Like you know you don't want to sling dick anymore.
- 2:16:34Speaker 2: There's other options.
- 2:16:37Speaker 7: M No.
- 2:16:40Speaker 3: I definitely, yeah, for sure, for sure. And I had
- 2:16:43Speaker 3: a couple of start comments relating.
- 2:16:45Speaker 2: To the ideologues out of their money, you know, to
- 2:16:48Speaker 2: think that they're supporting a cause either one way or
- 2:16:51Speaker 2: the other. Right, yeah, uh.
- 2:16:57Speaker 3: Sally had a good comment here before I start. Remember
- 2:17:01Speaker 3: the address book I think they found, which was either
- 2:17:03Speaker 3: Fairies or Shaws question Mark, loads of addresses with lots
- 2:17:06Speaker 3: of young men living. I always thought there was a
- 2:17:09Speaker 3: male prostitute ring going on. Her next comment, I've always
- 2:17:16Speaker 3: wondered if Ferry was trafficking young boys men and flying
- 2:17:20Speaker 3: them in and possibly earlier Epstein type of ring. Can't
- 2:17:28Speaker 3: roll it out Ferry. I mean, we know he's a
- 2:17:30Speaker 3: good guy at all. But James, if you extrapolate this
- 2:17:38Speaker 3: back a lot of stuff in Oswalt's early years, you
- 2:17:40Speaker 3: start to get some possible creepy child sex trafficking vibes.
- 2:17:45Speaker 3: So not the only person who was just saying this.
- 2:17:49Speaker 3: And Paul or Lee was sexually abused. And I think
- 2:17:54Speaker 3: there was another comment. Let me see it is from
- 2:17:58Speaker 3: PAULA right, so Mark read's kids we're in and out
- 2:18:01Speaker 3: of orphanages. I had multiple stepdads, moved more than twice
- 2:18:05Speaker 3: a year, unstable and like Paul said that that creates
- 2:18:10Speaker 3: the perfect environment for sexual abuse. Unfortunately, of course, ye
- 2:18:17Speaker 3: boys grew up where they did or quote quarter rats interesting,
- 2:18:24Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean it makes a lot of sense
- 2:18:27Speaker 3: to very knowledgeable people in our chat. And Cammy has
- 2:18:31Speaker 3: a really interesting comment here, Clay, I believe I think
- 2:18:36Speaker 3: you're a she She means Shaw used to go to Hammond,
- 2:18:41Speaker 3: Louisiana every weekend to visit mother who live next door
- 2:18:44Speaker 3: to us. WHOA, I was only about seven years old.
- 2:18:51Speaker 3: That is really cool.
- 2:18:52Speaker 2: Wow.
- 2:18:54Speaker 3: Yeah, but you could definitely see a situation where the
- 2:18:59Speaker 3: unstable upbringing of Oswalt in his youth might have possibly
- 2:19:08Speaker 3: contributed to his I don't want to say tricks, but
- 2:19:14Speaker 3: just like hustle or mindset, right, it's it's not out
- 2:19:17Speaker 3: of the Roman possibility. And New Orleans, especially Bourbon Street,
- 2:19:22Speaker 3: you know, there's no really then and now there's no
- 2:19:27Speaker 3: better place for that really, but especially then.
- 2:19:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it's interesting, man, you know because like I said,
- 2:19:35Speaker 2: you know, I doubt Oswald's mother was around very much
- 2:19:39Speaker 2: when he was growing up, you know, especially in the
- 2:19:43Speaker 2: teen years. Yeah, and he's in he's in the worst
- 2:19:49Speaker 2: places in New Orleans to be in the middle of
- 2:19:51Speaker 2: all this ship.
- 2:19:53Speaker 3: Yeah, and maybe why he joined the Marines as soon
- 2:19:55Speaker 3: as he could too, right, to kind of get out
- 2:19:57Speaker 3: of that.
- 2:19:57Speaker 2: He was he was eager to get out. Yeah, that
- 2:20:01Speaker 2: was that was his way out.
- 2:20:03Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, yeah, Paul with an epic comment this
- 2:20:08Speaker 3: episode blows.
- 2:20:13Speaker 2: Pun intended, of course, pun intended.
- 2:20:17Speaker 3: Yes, And Cammy, Cammy is a heat I'm a hebro.
- 2:20:20Speaker 2: I'm sorry, sir, Yes, sure for camouflage.
- 2:20:24Speaker 3: So wouldn't that be Camo.
- 2:20:29Speaker 2: Not New Orleans? Sorry, I didn't know he grew up
- 2:20:35Speaker 2: in Hammy, Yes.
- 2:20:38Speaker 3: But sorry, Sorry, I We'll remember that we do not
- 2:20:40Speaker 3: like to misgender people here. Uh big bad, Josh, welcome man,
- 2:20:47Speaker 3: he says, I see, Oswald is more of a quote
- 2:20:49Speaker 3: spy who can get information intelligence from people through sexual contact,
- 2:20:54Speaker 3: male or female. It's part of the job. Interesting, Yeah,
- 2:21:02Speaker 3: it definitely is part of the job.
- 2:21:08Speaker 2: So I don't think anybody want to pay Marguerite Sally
- 2:21:14Speaker 2: for that.
- 2:21:16Speaker 13: For that, Cammie said, I told her I used my
- 2:21:28Speaker 13: wife's name in case I say something stupid.
- 2:21:30Speaker 3: Okay, So that's why you have me confused.
- 2:21:33Speaker 2: Not that all all. His mother wasn't heinously ugly? She
- 2:21:37Speaker 2: was a nightmare mentally? Probably? Yeah.
- 2:21:42Speaker 3: I mean she had multiple partners over the course of
- 2:21:45Speaker 3: last childhood, so she she was given something out, you
- 2:21:49Speaker 3: know something A Trey said. Ferry spent a night in
- 2:21:55Speaker 3: Hammond once. Yeah. I'm trying to remember the circumstances.
- 2:22:01Speaker 2: Of that, but I think it was on the way
- 2:22:03Speaker 2: back from the from the skin, That's what it was.
- 2:22:05Speaker 3: That's where they stopped. That's where he called.
- 2:22:08Speaker 7: Uh.
- 2:22:10Speaker 2: Well, yeah, he went to the uh it was some
- 2:22:12Speaker 2: some college or something. Some college boys knew there, and
- 2:22:15Speaker 2: he crashed in the dormitory.
- 2:22:17Speaker 3: He's crashed on the dormitory and I.
- 2:22:19Speaker 2: Woke up, like who the fuck are you? And I
- 2:22:21Speaker 2: was like, I'm a friend of I'm Chris's friend. Okay, weirdo,
- 2:22:27Speaker 2: Like could you imagine waking up as a college kid
- 2:22:31Speaker 2: and your dorm and David Ferries in the bed, in
- 2:22:34Speaker 2: your roommate's.
- 2:22:35Speaker 3: Bed, be like, damn that that must have been a
- 2:22:38Speaker 3: crazy night last.
- 2:22:39Speaker 2: Night, Like who the fuck is that?
- 2:22:41Speaker 3: Dude?
- 2:22:42Speaker 2: Like what are you doing.
- 2:22:45Speaker 3: The eyebrows?
- 2:22:47Speaker 2: He mented me and patrol. Yeah, but you're bringing it.
- 2:22:55Speaker 3: Back to earlier man, when Osmad goes back to New
- 2:22:59Speaker 3: Orlean ones and you're talking about all the Cubans and
- 2:23:03Speaker 3: possibly different hustles going on on the same side on
- 2:23:10Speaker 3: the left.
- 2:23:11Speaker 2: On the right, and you remember the story Joe about
- 2:23:15Speaker 2: him and Silso Hernandez allegedly being getting arrested.
- 2:23:20Speaker 3: October sixty two, right, and yeah, and then let go.
- 2:23:31Speaker 3: It doesn't not make sense to me.
- 2:23:34Speaker 2: It's not see. You know, these guys all knew each other,
- 2:23:36Speaker 2: they were all friendly. They figured out a hustle both
- 2:23:39Speaker 2: sides of the fence, you know.
- 2:23:42Speaker 3: But some shit went wrong in late August mid August,
- 2:23:49Speaker 3: and whatever happened, these people decided to frame Oswald.
- 2:23:55Speaker 1: It is.
- 2:23:57Speaker 3: I mean maybe not these specific people, but you know
- 2:24:01Speaker 3: you talk about DR or some type of Cubans or
- 2:24:05Speaker 3: or or CIA officers like GM wave. Uh, you can
- 2:24:08Speaker 3: see a situation where where that's that's a plausible.
- 2:24:12Speaker 2: Well, you got to figure that there was some higher
- 2:24:14Speaker 2: ups in the c i A. You know that we're
- 2:24:17Speaker 2: assigned to these anti Castro Cuban groups, and who would
- 2:24:22Speaker 2: have who would have been aware of what was going
- 2:24:25Speaker 2: on with the DR whoever whoever was would have would
- 2:24:31Speaker 2: have known what was going on in New Orleans with
- 2:24:35Speaker 2: with you know, with Lee Harvey Oswald and bring in them.
- 2:24:39Speaker 2: And then when you know, when everything backfired on Oswald
- 2:24:44Speaker 2: during that television interview, and that was it, you know,
- 2:24:48Speaker 2: like I said, everything just stopped, and it was perfect
- 2:24:51Speaker 2: time for somebody else to step in and say, okay,
- 2:24:54Speaker 2: look we need you need to stop, stop this ship.
- 2:24:57Speaker 2: And here here's what we're gonna you next. You know,
- 2:25:00Speaker 2: because at that time I spose the crossroads. He can't
- 2:25:03Speaker 2: get a job anywhere, and he he doesn't have any money.
- 2:25:07Speaker 2: He can't get him and Marina and the kids a
- 2:25:11Speaker 2: place anywhere. He's got to let Marina go with with
- 2:25:15Speaker 2: Ruth there's no other choice, live on the street.
- 2:25:18Speaker 3: Or what he's sticking to, going to fucking Baltimore.
- 2:25:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, he's just trying to go back to Russia,
- 2:25:26Speaker 2: trying to send Marina back to Russia. That ain't working.
- 2:25:30Speaker 2: He can't now he's fucked himself. He can't get a
- 2:25:32Speaker 2: job in New Orleans. Yeah, you know, the only option
- 2:25:35Speaker 2: is to either follow her back to and live on
- 2:25:37Speaker 2: his own in a fucking ship hole and try to
- 2:25:40Speaker 2: find a job and get back on his feet again eventually,
- 2:25:43Speaker 2: which of course he does eventually after you know, whatever
- 2:25:48Speaker 2: the whole Mexico City thing was. You know, we still
- 2:25:51Speaker 2: haven't figured out that yet, you know, but I think
- 2:25:56Speaker 2: I finally, I'm I'm I'm I'm more at ease and
- 2:26:00Speaker 2: peace with what was going on possibly in New Orleans
- 2:26:03Speaker 2: in the summer sixty three, than I've ever been. You know,
- 2:26:11Speaker 2: the scenario.
- 2:26:14Speaker 3: Is not is not It makes sense. It's plausible to
- 2:26:18Speaker 3: me that something like this could happened. I don't think
- 2:26:23Speaker 3: you're you know that that. I don't think anything you're
- 2:26:26Speaker 3: saying is crazy whatsoever. So well, think for sure, and
- 2:26:33Speaker 3: it definitely makes a couple of things makes sense, especially
- 2:26:36Speaker 3: when you consider his previous shenanigans in New Orleans and
- 2:26:43Speaker 3: the Cubans he was interacting with. It's h yeah, it's
- 2:26:50Speaker 3: it's definitely a plausible scenario to what was going on there.
- 2:26:53Speaker 3: And I just don't think Oswald. I think at that point,
- 2:26:56Speaker 3: you're right, he knew he was screwed. He didn't really
- 2:26:59Speaker 3: have any options. So what does he do. He takes
- 2:27:03Speaker 3: a pretty much minimum wage job at the TSBD, you know,
- 2:27:07Speaker 3: a month or two later from that month and a half,
- 2:27:10Speaker 3: I think mid October, right, doesn't sound like someone that
- 2:27:17Speaker 3: has a lot of options, right when people are calling
- 2:27:21Speaker 3: around and trying to get jobs.
- 2:27:23Speaker 2: For you, because he could have continued in Texas what
- 2:27:28Speaker 2: he was doing in New Orleans, which is basically collecting
- 2:27:33Speaker 2: unemployment checks. You know, I've seen I've seen the documents
- 2:27:38Speaker 2: where he wrote down like because he had to go
- 2:27:40Speaker 2: to so many places like every week to get his
- 2:27:43Speaker 2: unemployment check. Thank you, Sally, Oh, thank you so much.
- 2:27:47Speaker 2: We got ten British panels, Joe. That's like shit, twenty
- 2:27:51Speaker 2: dollars over here.

- 2:28:19Speaker 11: know that's confusing.
- 2:28:20Speaker 2: But Memorial Day is the Monday after next week? Right,
- 2:28:24Speaker 2: it is not this coming monday? Yes, all right, Joe.
