- 0:04Speaker 1: And now, the mob.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Guys, Craig Coyenese... Hey! Good morning.
- 0:36Speaker 3: This is the Mob Guys on KSCV Radio. I am
- 0:45Speaker 3: Craig Colonese. He is Wayne Del Cefino, and he's on
- 0:49Speaker 3: special assignment today. He's got a lot going on, traveling.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I think he'll be here tomorrow. Although I think he'll
- 0:53Speaker 3: actually be in Austin and we'll test the brand new
- 0:56Speaker 3: docking station the station got for him so that he
- 0:59Speaker 3: has a better video connection. And actually, the Amigos will
- 1:03Speaker 3: be at the Wings Over Houston tomorrow. I don't think
- 1:05Speaker 3: there are any more tickets to go. So when I
- 1:08Speaker 3: say that to you on the air, to the Friday thing,
- 1:10Speaker 3: I know there's more tickets to go to the weekend thing.
- 1:13Speaker 3: I don't think all of Wings Over Houston is sold out.
- 1:15Speaker 3: But there's the special Friday thing that they do that
- 1:18Speaker 3: also involves like launching the Wings. I don't know if
- 1:21Speaker 3: it's got a name. Russell, I don't remember what it's called. OK,
- 1:24Speaker 3: you're shaking your head.
- 1:24Speaker 1: OK, good.
- 1:25Speaker 3: I mean, it's something there's some sort of start tomorrow
- 1:27Speaker 3: and the Amigos will be there. I will also be
- 1:30Speaker 3: there and we'll have a crap ton of cameras because
- 1:33Speaker 3: for the first time, we're going to try to video
- 1:35Speaker 3: the entire thing.
- 1:37Speaker 1: And I'm going to bring way too many cameras.
- 1:39Speaker 3: And I don't think I've said anything to anyone, not
- 1:42Speaker 3: to Russell, who's the P.D., not to Ben, like I'm
- 1:44Speaker 3: bringing like five, all the cameras we have. And I'll
- 1:47Speaker 3: have like a shot of the people of all kinds
- 1:49Speaker 3: of things. It might not be valuable. We're going to
- 1:52Speaker 3: be entirely honest going in. It might be too much
- 1:55Speaker 3: for one dude to try to do on his own,
- 1:56Speaker 3: but screw it.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Screw it. We're going to at least, yeah, thank you.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Thank you, Russell. We're going to at least try.
- 2:01Speaker 3: And hopefully you'll get to see the amigos at the airport,
- 2:05Speaker 3: all the cool stuff that you might not see if
- 2:07Speaker 3: you're not going to go.
- 2:08Speaker 1: So hopefully a lot of people watch.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Tomorrow to our live stream, or maybe we'll clip some
- 2:13Speaker 3: stuff and put it up there too. And the Amigos
- 2:15Speaker 3: also have, I believe, I'm not sure if it's actually
- 2:17Speaker 3: fully out yet, but I know we've been working on it,
- 2:20Speaker 3: a ton of interviews they've done with people from Wings
- 2:24Speaker 3: Over Houston, with military heroes. This is all the years
- 2:28Speaker 3: that they've been doing that event. We're turning it into
- 2:30Speaker 3: this big podcast where you can listen to a bunch
- 2:33Speaker 3: of those different conversations all at the same, like all
- 2:35Speaker 3: in the same thing. It sounds like it's pretty cool.
- 2:38Speaker 3: And I think it's done. I think it's out there,
- 2:41Speaker 3: although it might not be quite yet, but it should
- 2:43Speaker 3: be soon. But it's the Amigos best of Wings Over
- 2:47Speaker 3: Houston interviews over a tremendous amount of years of doing
- 2:50Speaker 3: that show. And I was actually even calling people. I
- 2:53Speaker 3: know this is I plan on talking about something else
- 2:55Speaker 3: to start the show. But I was calling people with
- 2:57Speaker 3: the organization yesterday to coordinate the camera stuff and the technology.
- 3:02Speaker 1: That we need, the Internet that we need in order
- 3:04Speaker 1: to do it out there.
- 3:05Speaker 3: And every time I called somebody, they're like, oh, yeah,
- 3:07Speaker 3: the Amigos, Wings Over Houston. You guys have been doing
- 3:10Speaker 3: that forever. And I'm like, we have.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Yes, we have. But it'll be fun to do it
- 3:14Speaker 1: again this year.
- 3:15Speaker 3: And please tune in tomorrow to that show or at
- 3:18Speaker 3: least watch it on social media because a lot of
- 3:20Speaker 3: stuff will.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Be going on. All right.
- 3:21Speaker 3: I do want to talk about voter turnout here in
- 3:25Speaker 3: Harris County. I am not a vote early guy. I've
- 3:28Speaker 3: never been a vote early guy. My wife got me
- 3:31Speaker 3: to vote early yesterday because the polling place for me
- 3:34Speaker 3: is like, four blocks from my house.
- 3:37Speaker 1: So we actually could like walk there.
- 3:38Speaker 3: So the first part that sort of surprised me when
- 3:41Speaker 3: we did decide to go is just how close the
- 3:45Speaker 3: polling place was for us. The other thing that I
- 3:48Speaker 3: will say, I don't know if that polling place just
- 3:51Speaker 3: wasn't one I paid attention to at other times. I
- 3:53Speaker 3: don't know if it's just not an election day one,
- 3:55Speaker 3: because I could have voted there before. Maybe I just
- 3:57Speaker 3: never paid attention that close. But the other thing I'll
- 3:59Speaker 3: say is that there was almost nobody there. So voter
- 4:02Speaker 3: turnout has hit a record high. Harris County turnout is
- 4:05Speaker 3: supposed to be soaring. I saw multiple people report about
- 4:08Speaker 3: it a couple days ago. Nineteen million, I think, votes
- 4:13Speaker 3: have come in through early voting. So there's there's some
- 4:15Speaker 3: significant numbers going on. And yet the polling place I
- 4:18Speaker 3: was at had like four people. So I know it's anecdotal.
- 4:22Speaker 3: I know I can't disprove any of the narrative that's
- 4:24Speaker 3: out there by saying, and I'm not saying they even
- 4:26Speaker 3: make it up. They have data that backs up what
- 4:28Speaker 3: they're saying. But it was just interesting. And probably the
- 4:32Speaker 3: biggest reason I decided to vote early is this discussion
- 4:35Speaker 3: about how many people are going. Now, granted, Wayne Dolcefino
- 4:39Speaker 3: knows fancy people, and he has some insider information from
- 4:42Speaker 3: time to time. And from a friend of his who
- 4:45Speaker 3: seems to be in the know, he sent me a
- 4:47Speaker 3: message yesterday saying, on some additional information that seemed important.
- 4:52Speaker 3: And I loved the headline to the text message that
- 4:55Speaker 3: I got from Wayne, because it was from his friend,
- 4:58Speaker 3: a turnout alert, people lie and opinion polls can be manipulated,
- 5:01Speaker 3: but these numbers can't be changed. So saying that the
- 5:05Speaker 3: turnout number is in fact real, but the worry for
- 5:09Speaker 3: Democrats is black turnout is low, essentially meaning communities that
- 5:14Speaker 3: are significantly of a certain ethnicity are are not voting
- 5:18Speaker 3: in anywhere near the kind of number that you'd expect
- 5:21Speaker 3: them to be voting in if, say, the black community
- 5:24Speaker 3: was overwhelmingly trying to support Tallarico.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Now, could they vote on Election Day?
- 5:28Speaker 4: Sure.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Of course they can. Of course those numbers can change.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Is that an important piece to Tallarico actually winning Texas?
- 5:37Speaker 1: You better believe it is. Tallarico needs to do incredibly.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Well with the Hispanic vote, with, you know, obviously Democrats voting,
- 5:46Speaker 3: and then also with the black vote. He just needs
- 5:48Speaker 3: to do well with those votes in order to have
- 5:49Speaker 3: a shot at actually defeating Paxton in a state that
- 5:52Speaker 3: hasn't elected a Democrat in forever. And I thought it
- 5:56Speaker 3: was interesting saying that there are 36 early voting locations
- 6:00Speaker 3: across Harris County that have tallied more in-person votes than
- 6:04Speaker 3: the overwhelmingly, you know, black communities of Sunnyside, Acres, Hones,
- 6:11Speaker 3: and Clark Multi-Service Center, which is one of the other
- 6:15Speaker 3: places that's taking these votes, they're not getting anywhere near
- 6:17Speaker 3: as many. Black vote turnout is up compared to previous midterms,
- 6:21Speaker 3: but the turnout numbers of, but not, excuse me, I
- 6:26Speaker 3: want to repeat this, not as high as the turnout
- 6:28Speaker 3: numbers of other ethnic groups. So the black vote is
- 6:31Speaker 3: not doing as well as they might have expected it
- 6:33Speaker 3: to do. And again, in order to actually defeat a
- 6:36Speaker 3: Republican in a statewide race in Texas, you have to
- 6:40Speaker 3: have overwhelming support from all the places that you'd assume
- 6:43Speaker 3: to get it.
- 6:44Speaker 1: And you have to get.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Some support from surprising places. I did see I can't
- 6:47Speaker 3: remember what poll it was. And again, polls can be manipulated.
- 6:52Speaker 3: But there was a poll out there that said that
- 6:54Speaker 3: like three percent of Republicans were planning on voting for Tallarico.
- 6:58Speaker 1: And there was like no Democrats planning on voting for Paxton.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Now, I don't know if I believe that because it
- 7:03Speaker 3: seems kind of insane to me to say it that way.
- 7:06Speaker 3: And I imagine somebody who answers the phone from a
- 7:09Speaker 3: pollster could claim.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I'm a Republican. and not be one at all.
- 7:13Speaker 3: And by the way, I will say one other thing, actually,
- 7:15Speaker 3: about my voting experience yesterday.
- 7:17Speaker 1: It felt like a lot of Democrats.
- 7:19Speaker 4: It did.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Where I went, the people that were there, even though, again,
- 7:22Speaker 3: there were only like four or five people in the place,
- 7:24Speaker 3: the feeling.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I got was, these.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Are Democratic voters, not my wife and I, but everybody
- 7:29Speaker 3: else felt to be of a certain side. I think
- 7:32Speaker 3: one person was wearing some sort of, you know, dumb shirt.
- 7:36Speaker 3: I don't even know if I want to explain what's
- 7:38Speaker 3: on the shirt. Because here, I'll say this, because I'm
- 7:40Speaker 3: not going to tell you, actually, the dumb phrase on
- 7:42Speaker 3: the shirt. I don't dislike standing up for people. You know,
- 7:48Speaker 3: when someone walks around with blue hair and a shirt
- 7:51Speaker 3: that says, like, Black Lives Matter instead of All Lives
- 7:53Speaker 3: Matter or some weird attack, a part of me thinks
- 7:56Speaker 3: to myself, like, I don't disagree with your message.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I care about people. That's fine.
- 8:00Speaker 3: What I disagree with is how stupid you're going about
- 8:03Speaker 3: using it to demonstrate what side of the political aisle
- 8:06Speaker 3: you're on.
- 8:06Speaker 1: And how crazy you probably are.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Having a conversation with you is probably horrible because to me,
- 8:13Speaker 3: there's no difference between some of those things. Like all
- 8:15Speaker 3: lives matter. Cops lives matter. Black lives matter. All that's important.
- 8:20Speaker 3: All that's true. We can put it all in the
- 8:21Speaker 3: same bucket. But people on a certain side don't want
- 8:25Speaker 3: to put it all in the same bucket. They want
- 8:26Speaker 3: to try to attack you as if me saying all
- 8:29Speaker 3: lives matter means I don't care about black people or
- 8:32Speaker 3: whatever the case may be. And it wasn't a Black
- 8:33Speaker 3: Lives Matter shirt, by the way. It was just an
- 8:35Speaker 3: easier example to use than the dumb one that was there.
- 8:39Speaker 3: I don't know why I'm not saying it. I guess
- 8:40Speaker 3: I don't want to give any additional publicity out of
- 8:42Speaker 3: the thing I saw. But it was a girl who
- 8:44Speaker 3: had blue hair and a stupid shirt, and she was
- 8:47Speaker 3: very happy to.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Vote, which is great.
- 8:50Speaker 3: You know, one last thing I'll say, I guess it's
- 8:52Speaker 3: just a rant to start the show. My wife is
- 8:55Speaker 3: from Mexico, born and raised there.
- 8:57Speaker 1: I've talked about it before on the show. She's a U.S.
- 8:59Speaker 1: citizen now because of a marriage to me. She loves voting.
- 9:03Speaker 1: She doesn't.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Really know who to vote for. She asks me who
- 9:06Speaker 3: to vote for, which is great. And I tell her
- 9:08Speaker 3: and she listens, which is also great. And she thinks
- 9:12Speaker 3: that a lot of politics is just corrupt because in
- 9:14Speaker 3: Mexico it is. So if you tell her that this
- 9:16Speaker 3: politician is corrupt, you don't even have to finish the sentence.
- 9:19Speaker 3: And she'll probably be like, yeah, that's true. I think
- 9:21Speaker 3: that's probably true. Whoever they are, whatever they're up to,
- 9:24Speaker 3: because politicians and corrupt go together very quickly for my wife.
- 9:28Speaker 3: But she loves to vote. So every time we get
- 9:31Speaker 3: to this season, she's always like, we got to go vote.
- 9:33Speaker 3: We got to go do it.
- 9:34Speaker 1: And I'm like, of course we're going to.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Of course we are. But it's funny. I don't know
- 9:38Speaker 3: why I get so amused by that.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I just love it.
- 9:42Speaker 3: The fact that, you know, my wife cares about something
- 9:45Speaker 3: that maybe a lot of other people won't care enough
- 9:48Speaker 3: about and maybe not show up and vote. And if
- 9:50Speaker 3: a lot of people don't show up, this election could
- 9:53Speaker 3: go a very bad way. Tallarico might win because of
- 9:56Speaker 3: low turnout from conservatives, which is surreal.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I know it's obvious. I know it happens all the time.
- 10:03Speaker 3: What I'm saying is surreal is just how crazy and
- 10:06Speaker 3: far left Tallarico is.
- 10:08Speaker 1: And to allow that.
- 10:09Speaker 3: And I know we've talked about that a lot on
- 10:11Speaker 3: the show, but I'll say it again after voting yesterday,
- 10:14Speaker 3: to allow that to potentially represent Texas, those ideologies are
- 10:18Speaker 3: It's shocking, really.
- 10:20Speaker 1: And it shouldn't be, but it is. Quick break.
- 10:22Speaker 3: We'll play audio. We'll do all the normal stuff. KSCV,
- 10:26Speaker 3: the voice of Texas. It is the Mob Guys. I
- 10:28Speaker 3: am Craig Colonese.
- 10:30Speaker 1: More after this.
- 10:31Speaker 3: KSCV Radio, 700 a.m., the voice of Texas. I am
- 10:36Speaker 3: Craig Colonese, Wayne Dolcefino on Special Assignment. We call ourselves
- 10:40Speaker 3: the Mob Guys. I keep telling you we do it
- 10:43Speaker 3: because it's a reflection on the actual mobsters who are
- 10:45Speaker 3: the politicians who we talk about all the time. Tallarico
- 10:49Speaker 3: made another thing up, and it's a weird thing to
- 10:51Speaker 3: make up. At least it seems made up. And so
- 10:54Speaker 3: it's going very viral. I'll play you two versions of
- 10:57Speaker 3: the clip. I'm going to use the 360. I'll let
- 10:59Speaker 3: Russell know that instead of playing the stuff over in
- 11:01Speaker 3: your studio. I'll just play it here today.
- 11:03Speaker 1: It's easier for me. And hopefully this works, by the way.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I think it'll work.
- 11:08Speaker 3: But this is Tallarico talking about why he got into politics.
- 11:12Speaker 3: And then somebody found an Obama clip That sounds eerily
- 11:16Speaker 3: similar as to why he decided to get into politics.
- 11:18Speaker 1: This is weird. Here we go. Let's clip one.
- 11:20Speaker 5: And I entered the classroom in the fall of 2011,
- 11:22Speaker 5: right after our state legislature cut more than $ 5 billion
- 11:27Speaker 5: from public education in this state. So I saw the
- 11:30Speaker 5: impact of those cuts firsthand. I saw programs get eliminated.
- 11:35Speaker 5: I saw class sizes grow. At one point, I had
- 11:38Speaker 5: 45 students in one classroom. There weren't enough desks. For
- 11:43Speaker 5: all those kids. So I had students sitting on the
- 11:46Speaker 5: air conditioning unit in the wealthiest country.
- 11:49Speaker 1: In human history. And I was so obsessed.
- 11:52Speaker 5: In the 21st century.
- 11:53Speaker 3: How dare they sit down on the air conditioning unit
- 11:56Speaker 3: to try to learn from us.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Now, that's fine.
- 11:58Speaker 3: That sounds very motivating to Tallarico, except for the fact
- 12:02Speaker 3: that it sounds really similar to a story Obama told
- 12:05Speaker 3: in 2012.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Oh, no!
- 12:29Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 12:30Speaker 3: How dare 45 students sit on places other than desks
- 12:34Speaker 3: inside a classroom to inspire someone to become motivated to
- 12:38Speaker 3: actually enter into politics. Shocking that that's it. I love
- 12:43Speaker 3: the Internet. And I'll tell you why, because the Internet's undefeated.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Anytime anyone says a thing and you can go back
- 12:49Speaker 3: and find a different version of the same thing. And
- 12:52Speaker 3: of course, Tallarico can tell you that he had the
- 12:54Speaker 3: exact same experience to some teacher in 2012 that Obama knew.
- 12:58Speaker 3: I think it's more likely that Tallarico asked for an
- 13:01Speaker 3: answer to the.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Question, why did I get into politics? And Obama told
- 13:05Speaker 1: him that answer.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Or someone in the orbit of Obama told him that
- 13:09Speaker 3: answer who remembered that story before. And the point of that,
- 13:13Speaker 3: if that's how this occurred, if Tallarico wasn't actually in
- 13:15Speaker 3: a classroom with 45 kids and a bunch of kids
- 13:18Speaker 3: sitting on an air conditioner, It shows you how inauthentic
- 13:22Speaker 3: everything about politics is, because part of me wonders.
- 13:25Speaker 1: And I'll just go on a rant about this for
- 13:27Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 13:28Speaker 3: If the truth is that Tallarico is sitting at his
- 13:30Speaker 3: desk one day and thinking to himself, man. I'd be
- 13:33Speaker 3: a great politician. And then he gets into politics. And
- 13:35Speaker 3: that's the whole story. That's the story for a lot
- 13:38Speaker 3: of people. They don't need this wonderful, incredible. I was
- 13:42Speaker 3: inspired and nothing could stop me.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I really didn't want to do it, but I guess
- 13:46Speaker 1: I will.
- 13:47Speaker 3: A version of a conversation. They could just want to
- 13:50Speaker 3: be in charge of stuff. I think by and large,
- 13:52Speaker 3: a whole lot of people in politics. I think President
- 13:54Speaker 3: Trump is in the group of people that wants to
- 13:57Speaker 3: be in charge of stuff. And I'm fine with that
- 13:59Speaker 3: as a story by itself. So when you have to
- 14:02Speaker 3: make up and elaborate and do these ridiculous things, hyperbolic
- 14:07Speaker 3: versions of this is what pushed me to say I
- 14:10Speaker 3: had no choice but to represent part of Austin, then
- 14:14Speaker 3: to me, you show yet again how much of a
- 14:17Speaker 3: full of crap person you are. You know, like everything's
- 14:19Speaker 3: a performance. Everything's fake. And I wonder what that does
- 14:22Speaker 3: to your brain. Like, truthfully, part of me has thought
- 14:26Speaker 3: because actually, I'll tell you this.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Early on.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Right after she got elected, AOC sounded like someone that
- 14:34Speaker 3: you might have met in New York. What I mean
- 14:36Speaker 3: by that is she was dumb. She said a lot
- 14:38Speaker 3: of stupid things. The Green New Deal was horrible. But
- 14:41Speaker 3: there weren't as many performative aspects of the things about
- 14:45Speaker 3: her personality when she first got elected that exist now.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Because now all of those ridiculous things that probably built
- 14:52Speaker 3: the original person are heightened by the performance that is Washington's.
- 14:58Speaker 3: And I can't imagine how your brain gets warped by
- 15:01Speaker 3: drinking your own Kool-Aid, thinking that you're the most important
- 15:04Speaker 3: person in the world, and then also thinking that you
- 15:06Speaker 3: have to perform all the time about everything. Because that's
- 15:09Speaker 3: what a lot of these people do. It's what a
- 15:11Speaker 3: lot of their lives become. And it's so annoying. And actually,
- 15:15Speaker 3: I'll go even a step further, because I have praised
- 15:18Speaker 3: him before on this show, and it's not just because
- 15:19Speaker 3: the guy works here. But Senator Betancourt is just a
- 15:22Speaker 3: regular guy. You meet the person, you talk to him,
- 15:25Speaker 3: and you're like, I don't get the feeling of politicians
- 15:27Speaker 3: which is a compliment, Senator Betancourt, from him that you
- 15:31Speaker 3: get from some of these other people that you meet,
- 15:33Speaker 3: especially like high ranking people in D.C. If you meet
- 15:36Speaker 3: any of them and the way they just feel like
- 15:39Speaker 3: the kind of, you know, popular high school girl who
- 15:43Speaker 3: wound up getting way too additionally popular and then everything
- 15:46Speaker 3: being about them. And I don't mean just for women,
- 15:48Speaker 3: this male politicians who drink too much of their own Kool-Aid.
- 15:51Speaker 1: That's really the best way to say it. And it's
- 15:54Speaker 1: just crazy.
- 15:55Speaker 3: But Obama is also in the news because he's walking
- 15:57Speaker 3: back his Cheesecake Factory comments, which is weird. I don't
- 16:02Speaker 3: want to play a lot of Obama. I think the
- 16:04Speaker 3: left wants me to play Obama. So partially for that reason,
- 16:06Speaker 3: I don't want to play it. But I'll play this
- 16:08Speaker 3: because it's on Fox and it's a bunch of other
- 16:10Speaker 3: places where President Obama, former President Barack Obama, was talking
- 16:14Speaker 3: about how much he loves Chuck E. Cheese and the
- 16:17Speaker 3: Cheesecake Factory after he had crapped on it earlier. It
- 16:21Speaker 3: just feels like, again, this is also very political in nature.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Where the stupid people say the dumb thing and then
- 16:28Speaker 3: they feel like the dumb thing is too powerful.
- 16:30Speaker 1: So they have to take it back like every day.
- 16:32Speaker 1: I can't imagine. Actually, I'm kind of glad I've never
- 16:36Speaker 1: done this.
- 16:37Speaker 3: I can't imagine what it's like to be in a
- 16:38Speaker 3: political strategist's office talking to a team or a politician
- 16:44Speaker 3: about what to do next about anything. Like just constantly
- 16:46Speaker 3: strategizing and not just saying I'm going to walk out
- 16:49Speaker 3: there and be me.
- 16:51Speaker 1: And I've said this, I'll say it again.
- 16:53Speaker 3: It's one of the other reasons that I think President
- 16:54Speaker 3: Trump is such an effective and popular, he is still
- 16:57Speaker 3: popular with conservatives, politician, is that I don't think he
- 17:01Speaker 3: ever listens to a single strategist ever. From what I see,
- 17:05Speaker 3: from how he speaks, if a strategist was in his
- 17:08Speaker 3: orbit before he took a stage and was like, hey, Mr. President,
- 17:11Speaker 3: don't say this, Trump patted that guy in the back
- 17:13Speaker 3: and said, I'll handle it.
- 17:14Speaker 1: And then he did whatever he wanted.
- 17:16Speaker 3: But here's Obama saying that he actually really likes the
- 17:19Speaker 3: Cheesecake Factory.
- 17:20Speaker 1: The president was not happy.
- 17:23Speaker 4: When I joked over the weekend that he's.
- 17:25Speaker 6: Got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a
- 17:28Speaker 6: cheesecake factory.
- 17:32Speaker 1: And listen, first of all.
- 17:37Speaker 3: It's also really funny that he thinks that that's like
- 17:39Speaker 3: a hilarious joke because he seems very proud of himself
- 17:42Speaker 3: for that. And I'll tell you this, the president, the
- 17:45Speaker 3: current president, Trump, he does a lot more jokes. If
- 17:49Speaker 3: you were comparing comedians... You get a lot more humor
- 17:52Speaker 3: in a 15-minute speech from one guy than the other guy.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Let me get this on the record.
- 17:56Speaker 6: I am the father of two daughters.
- 18:00Speaker 5: Do you think I could have survived their childhood without
- 18:05Speaker 5: going to the Cheesecake Factory?
- 18:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I do, actually. I lived at Chuck E.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Cheese.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I don't think you did, sir.
- 18:13Speaker 4: And California Pizza Kitchens.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I'm the Cheesecake Factory. That was my jam for about
- 18:19Speaker 1: a decade.
- 18:20Speaker 3: You know, what's really funny about that is a lot
- 18:21Speaker 3: of the time that he's claiming that would have been
- 18:23Speaker 3: his jam is his kids were little, so he was
- 18:25Speaker 3: in office. And I don't remember the president hitting up
- 18:28Speaker 3: a lot of Cheesecake Factories when he was in the
- 18:30Speaker 3: White House.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I don't remember that story. So I'm going to have
- 18:33Speaker 1: to remind.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Me of President Obama goes to the Cheesecake Factory or
- 18:37Speaker 3: to Chuck E. Cheese or California Pizza Kitchen, which rough,
- 18:40Speaker 3: I'll say this, rough to throw that one in there.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Because no offense... to Chuck E. Cheese or the Cheesecake Factory.
- 18:46Speaker 3: I'm not trying to take shots at them. I'm not
- 18:48Speaker 3: going to pull an Obama myself. But I think the
- 18:50Speaker 3: California Pizza Kitchen is a step up, especially from the
- 18:54Speaker 3: pizza at a Chuck E.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Cheese.
- 18:55Speaker 3: So I would say it's a little bit higher up
- 18:57Speaker 3: the totem pole of chain restaurants. And actually, the Cheesecake
- 19:02Speaker 3: Factory is great. My grandma used to love that place,
- 19:05Speaker 3: which is funny because she's a very Italian grandma that
- 19:08Speaker 3: shouldn't like the Cheesecake Factory.
- 19:10Speaker 1: And she really did. She really enjoyed it because it
- 19:12Speaker 1: is delicious food.
- 19:14Speaker 3: But nonetheless, I just, again, think it's so funny that
- 19:16Speaker 3: all of this stuff becomes such an obsession of people.
- 19:19Speaker 3: And honestly, I guess I'll say before we take another
- 19:23Speaker 3: break that I think the best thing you can do
- 19:26Speaker 3: as a voter out there is pick the people who
- 19:28Speaker 3: are the most real and just vote for those people.
- 19:31Speaker 3: They don't all have to be Republicans. I think by
- 19:34Speaker 3: and large they are. I think we've talked to some
- 19:36Speaker 3: of them on the show over the last couple of
- 19:37Speaker 3: weeks as we're getting closer and closer to the election itself. But,
- 19:40Speaker 3: you know, just pick people who are real. Pick people
- 19:43Speaker 3: who say real things into cameras, whether those things are
- 19:45Speaker 3: eloquently said, whether they're the things that somebody should have
- 19:48Speaker 3: said or not. I'm attracted to the idea, at least politically,
- 19:52Speaker 3: that people say real stuff and that that real stuff
- 19:56Speaker 3: is what they actually think and that they're not going
- 19:58Speaker 3: to have a team of 10 people tell them what
- 20:01Speaker 3: story they should tell when asked, why did you get
- 20:03Speaker 3: into politics? A story that we can then find an
- 20:06Speaker 3: eerie similarity to. from when Obama was on stage in 2012,
- 20:10Speaker 3: campaigning for himself and saying very similar things. I want
- 20:15Speaker 3: a photo of the Tallarico classroom that he was in
- 20:18Speaker 3: when people were sitting on the air conditioners.
- 20:20Speaker 1: I want to know.
- 20:21Speaker 3: I want to see more there, because I don't believe you,
- 20:23Speaker 3: and it's one of the stupidest things to lie about
- 20:26Speaker 3: that says a whole lot about who you are.
- 20:27Speaker 1: All right, quick break.
- 20:28Speaker 3: A bunch more audio to get to. It's KSEV mornings,
- 20:32Speaker 3: the mob guys on The Voice of Texas.
- 20:35Speaker 1: KSEV Radio. The Voice of Texas. That is 700 AM.
- 20:41Speaker 3: We're also on a bunch of social media.
- 20:44Speaker 1: You can find us on YouTube, Rumble, X. The live
- 20:49Speaker 1: stream is working today.
- 20:50Speaker 3: I took a long time yesterday to fix the live stream,
- 20:53Speaker 3: but that one's out there, too, if you want to
- 20:55Speaker 3: watch yesterday's show. But today's show is up on all
- 20:58Speaker 3: of those platforms. Greg Abbott did some pretty interesting interviews
- 21:02Speaker 3: over the last couple days. I think yesterday he was
- 21:04Speaker 3: both doing an interview live from a campaign stop in Texas. Well,
- 21:09Speaker 3: that was on Fox News. And then also he sat
- 21:11Speaker 3: down with Benny Johnson, who continues to get a lot
- 21:14Speaker 3: of great guests.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Benny Johnson is now a bigger influencer and.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Does exactly what radio does without being on the radio
- 21:21Speaker 3: a whole lot of places.
- 21:22Speaker 1: But anyway, I'm not jealous. It's fine.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Let's play Abbott on Fox first, where he ripped to
- 21:27Speaker 3: shreds Gina Hinojosa and everything that she says and does
- 21:32Speaker 3: that seems to be pro Sharia law, pro mass third
- 21:36Speaker 3: world invasion kind of things.
- 21:38Speaker 1: That's the way it's described. I thought this was pretty
- 21:40Speaker 1: great by the governor.
- 21:42Speaker 6: It's for Joe Biden's open border policies. She's for defunding
- 21:45Speaker 6: the police. She voted 40 times for higher poverty taxes.
- 21:49Speaker 6: She wanted to impose a state income tax in the
- 21:52Speaker 6: state of Texas.
- 21:53Speaker 1: And she supports boys and girls sports.
- 21:56Speaker 6: She is wrong for Texas. She is dangerous. And that's
- 21:58Speaker 6: exactly why Republicans have to get out and vote and
- 22:01Speaker 6: make sure we keep Texas red.
- 22:03Speaker 4: All right.
- 22:04Speaker 7: So, Governor, so let me ask you about your race there,
- 22:06Speaker 7: because the RealClearPolitics average has got you up by 3.2 percent.
- 22:10Speaker 7: You won this race back in 2022 by 11 points.
- 22:13Speaker 7: At this point, with seven days to go, the polls
- 22:16Speaker 7: showed you anywhere from 10 to 13 points ahead. So
- 22:19Speaker 7: why is this so close?
- 22:22Speaker 1: I love this answer, by the way.
- 22:23Speaker 6: I feel really good about where things are, because in
- 22:25Speaker 6: your own poll, it showed me up by five points
- 22:27Speaker 6: and other polls more or less. But I got to
- 22:29Speaker 6: tell you this, Texans and I think Americans are tired
- 22:32Speaker 6: of polls.
- 22:32Speaker 4: Yes, we are.
- 22:33Speaker 6: What matters is not polls. What matters is people. And
- 22:35Speaker 6: with the people I'm here with today, with the people
- 22:37Speaker 6: I visit in communities like this across the entire state
- 22:39Speaker 6: of Texas, there is energy. There's excitement because of what
- 22:42Speaker 6: Texans realize is there's so much at stake.
- 22:45Speaker 1: They want to make sure Republicans.
- 22:47Speaker 6: Independents and just people who love our great state, they
- 22:49Speaker 6: want to turn out and vote to make sure we
- 22:51Speaker 6: keep Texas, Texas.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Keep Texas, Texas is a great first thing to say.
- 22:56Speaker 3: And I've heard that phrase thrown around a lot by
- 22:58Speaker 3: a lot of people. But Greg, Governor Abbott did a
- 23:00Speaker 3: great job there. But I love that we're just sick
- 23:02Speaker 3: of polls. I'm sick of being told what's going to happen.
- 23:06Speaker 1: I'll be honest with you. And I know I've I've
- 23:07Speaker 1: on this very show.
- 23:08Speaker 3: I've been worried, consistently worried that Tallarico has a legitimate
- 23:12Speaker 3: shot to win. And there's a big difference, I think,
- 23:15Speaker 3: at least me, you might not think this way between
- 23:19Speaker 3: saying that and saying he will win because he will
- 23:21Speaker 3: win still seems like it's untrue.
- 23:23Speaker 1: It still seems like it's it's not going to happen.
- 23:26Speaker 3: I don't know. Maybe I go back and forth on that.
- 23:28Speaker 3: I can't remember if I've said anything different on the
- 23:30Speaker 3: show because you get you get Debbie Downer occasionally. And
- 23:33Speaker 3: especially if you pay attention to the polling and all
- 23:35Speaker 3: that crap where you start to think, man, maybe he
- 23:38Speaker 3: really could win. And then you remind yourself that it
- 23:41Speaker 3: is Texas. And even though you have to vote, I
- 23:43Speaker 3: voted yesterday. I broke my rule. I voted early because
- 23:47Speaker 3: I really wanted to make sure that we did. I
- 23:49Speaker 3: didn't want to miss it.
- 23:50Speaker 1: But I'll say this, too, like. I don't know.
- 23:54Speaker 3: I just on Tuesday when the votes come in, I
- 23:56Speaker 3: love that, too. Actually, I'll say that very quickly. My
- 23:59Speaker 3: wife asked me, like, when we'll know the answer. And
- 24:01Speaker 3: I said, we live in Texas now. So we probably
- 24:03Speaker 3: know the answer to these races a lot sooner than.
- 24:05Speaker 1: We used to know when we lived in Illinois.
- 24:07Speaker 3: The winner is something we'll probably know on election night
- 24:11Speaker 3: for most of this stuff. And that is not necessarily
- 24:13Speaker 3: the case in the place we used to live. But nonetheless,
- 24:16Speaker 3: I will just say and I think this is kind
- 24:18Speaker 3: of the most important thing to say. As long as
- 24:21Speaker 3: people show up and vote and vote Texas values, Tallarico
- 24:25Speaker 3: can't win. He just doesn't represent their values enough.
- 24:27Speaker 1: All right, let's play some of the Benny Johnson audio.
- 24:30Speaker 1: I have two clips.
- 24:31Speaker 3: I have one where Abbott, very, very smart of him
- 24:35Speaker 3: to stay on point, on message with the issues that
- 24:40Speaker 3: there's a significant difference between him and Gina Hinojosa on.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Because that is something that even I think Wayne has
- 24:46Speaker 3: been saying as much as maybe anybody. that the Republicans
- 24:50Speaker 3: need to do. They just need to hit people with
- 24:52Speaker 3: the issues. You don't have to hit them with just
- 24:54Speaker 3: the political, radical talking point stuff, but go after everything.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Go after open borders. Go after income tax in this state,
- 25:03Speaker 3: which is something you heard Abbott do on Fox. He
- 25:06Speaker 3: does it again with Benny Johnson.
- 25:07Speaker 8: Tallarico, I got to tell you, Governor, I never thought
- 25:10Speaker 8: I'd see a Texas Senate candidate that doesn't eat meat,
- 25:14Speaker 8: that doesn't eat the barbecue. A vegan Texas Senate candidate
- 25:18Speaker 8: that thinks that God's non-binary, that there are six genders,
- 25:22Speaker 8: that Jesus is permissible of abortion, and that he dreams
- 25:25Speaker 8: of trans kids at night, which is a strange thing
- 25:27Speaker 8: to dream about. It is, Benny. Everybody can admit. A
- 25:29Speaker 8: little weird to be like, I go to bed dreaming
- 25:31Speaker 8: of trans kids. What is that?
- 25:33Speaker 1: What the hell is that guy?
- 25:34Speaker 6: So he's from Austin, Texas, and he adopts Austin ideology.
- 25:40Speaker 1: He does.
- 25:41Speaker 6: And he thought he could get away with saying things
- 25:42Speaker 6: like that when he was a state representative from Austin.
- 25:45Speaker 6: It does not sell in the rest of the state. Candidly,
- 25:48Speaker 6: it's going to be easier running against Tallarico than it
- 25:50Speaker 6: would have been against Jasmine Crockett, because Tallarico has a
- 25:53Speaker 6: worse voting record than Jasmine Crockett has. And wait till
- 25:57Speaker 6: you see the contrast. If Kim Paxson is able to
- 26:00Speaker 6: show against Tallarico, it's going to make Tallarico look silly,
- 26:03Speaker 6: and Kim Paxson will run away.
- 26:04Speaker 1: With that race.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I hope that that winds up being true, because
- 26:07Speaker 3: that was said a while back, as you can tell,
- 26:09Speaker 3: and it doesn't totally wind up being as true as
- 26:11Speaker 3: it should be now. But it is accurate to, again,
- 26:13Speaker 3: state The Tallarica's voting record is terrible. And again, on
- 26:17Speaker 3: basic stuff, stuff that Texans care about, things like whether
- 26:19Speaker 3: we have an income tax in the state, whether they
- 26:22Speaker 3: take more of our money, whether the borders stay wide open.
- 26:25Speaker 3: And I think Governor Abbott is trying to do more
- 26:27Speaker 3: about making it a state and a Texas thing to
- 26:30Speaker 3: make sure that borders stay closed and that people get
- 26:33Speaker 3: out who aren't supposed to be here.
- 26:34Speaker 1: A little bit more from this Greg Abbott interview.
- 26:37Speaker 8: Can you answer a question for me about why Texas
- 26:41Speaker 8: doesn't look like California?
- 26:42Speaker 1: Everywhere in California... piss soaked. Sorry about that. We got
- 26:47Speaker 1: to hit the button there. Get rid of that. But
- 26:48Speaker 1: that is yes.
- 26:50Speaker 3: And actually, I think that word is allowed. But he's
- 26:52Speaker 3: talking about how terrible California looks. And Abbott comes back
- 26:54Speaker 3: and says, well. We haven't answered that.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Homeless encampments?
- 26:58Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 26:59Speaker 8: The buildings aren't covered in graffiti.
- 27:01Speaker 1: I don't see the city burning to pieces.
- 27:04Speaker 6: Because in Texas, the state can override local governments. And
- 27:08Speaker 6: so we passed a law banning homeless encampments. And withhold
- 27:12Speaker 6: funding from any city that fails to comply.
- 27:14Speaker 4: Good.
- 27:15Speaker 6: And so whether homeless encampments or lack of enforcement of law,
- 27:19Speaker 6: whatever the case may be. So there was an episode
- 27:20Speaker 6: you probably missed about two months ago where the city
- 27:23Speaker 6: of Houston cast a vote. Well, they were no longer
- 27:26Speaker 6: going to comply with ICE requests. I said, oh, yes,
- 27:29Speaker 6: you are, because I've got a contract right here with
- 27:32Speaker 6: the city signature on it, with the police department signature
- 27:34Speaker 6: on it, saying they will comply and they don't. I
- 27:37Speaker 6: was going to force them to repay the state of
- 27:39Speaker 6: Texas $ 132 million. They said, oh, you know what? We
- 27:43Speaker 6: will comply with that.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Yeah. See, I love this.
- 27:45Speaker 3: And these are the kind of things that you actually want,
- 27:47Speaker 3: because this is more than saying I'm going to protect
- 27:51Speaker 3: your children from from the crazy left who wants to
- 27:54Speaker 3: trans them. And that is, again, its own thing and
- 27:57Speaker 3: something we should obviously protect kids against.
- 28:00Speaker 1: But this is more substance to me.
- 28:02Speaker 3: And saying that I prevented Houston from going even further
- 28:05Speaker 3: down the cesspool that it is. I saw a comment
- 28:07Speaker 3: on that post from the interview that Benny Johnson did
- 28:11Speaker 3: saying this place still has a ton of homeless.
- 28:13Speaker 1: People and is a cesspool of bad things.
- 28:15Speaker 3: And there's a homeless person in every single corner, it
- 28:17Speaker 3: feels like, but they don't have an encampment somewhere. where
- 28:20Speaker 3: then you have like 50 people in an area that
- 28:22Speaker 3: shouldn't be there, which is what California has. And then
- 28:25Speaker 3: you have, you know, poop on the streets and whatnot.
- 28:28Speaker 3: I don't know a better way to say that. So
- 28:29Speaker 3: I'll just say it that way. That's what California deals with.
- 28:32Speaker 3: That's what we do not deal with. That's why you
- 28:34Speaker 3: cannot vote some of these people into political office. You
- 28:37Speaker 3: want to keep Texas, Texas and people like Abbott protected.
- 28:41Speaker 3: And if you had a Gina Hosa in that position,
- 28:44Speaker 3: if you had, you know, a Tallarico as a senator
- 28:47Speaker 3: for the state as a whole, You have all of
- 28:49Speaker 3: these individuals who then don't do those things that keep Texas, Texas.
- 28:54Speaker 1: It doesn't protect the state.
- 28:55Speaker 3: It doesn't, you know, prevent the Democratic crazy parts of
- 29:00Speaker 3: this state from acting as though they can enforce their
- 29:03Speaker 3: will on everybody else. It's honestly very Illinois, too. I
- 29:07Speaker 3: know California is the more trendy one, but I lived
- 29:09Speaker 3: in Chicago for a long time. And I can tell
- 29:11Speaker 3: you that Chicago loves that it's a Democrat blue state,
- 29:15Speaker 3: even though a.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Don't actually agree with the politics of that city.
- 29:22Speaker 3: But the city itself loves that it influences the entire
- 29:24Speaker 3: state and that no politician pushes back on anything. They
- 29:26Speaker 3: have a crazy, insane jelly bean governor, as he's called
- 29:30Speaker 3: all the time in Pritzker, who wouldn't do anything that
- 29:33Speaker 3: Abbott does. And Gina Hinojosa would be the same. She
- 29:36Speaker 3: would immediately start allowing the Austin and the Houstons and
- 29:42Speaker 3: the Dallases of the world of this state to influence
- 29:45Speaker 3: how the rest of the state behaves. And that would
- 29:47Speaker 3: be terrible instead of actually forcing Texas values on places
- 29:51Speaker 3: like Houston. Because I'll say one last thing. I don't
- 29:54Speaker 3: mean to rant about a bunch of stuff today. I
- 29:56Speaker 3: just feel like that's kind of the role I'm in.
- 29:58Speaker 3: When I first moved, here to Texas. I was really
- 30:02Speaker 3: excited about the idea of getting somewhere that finally believed
- 30:05Speaker 3: in the stuff I believed in that wasn't Illinois, that
- 30:08Speaker 3: wasn't Jersey, where I lived when I was a little kid.
- 30:12Speaker 1: I thought, hey, we're finally going to.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Get to a place that I think my values are
- 30:15Speaker 3: reflected by a bunch more people. And we picked Houston, which,
- 30:19Speaker 3: no offense, there's a bunch of great people. I think
- 30:21Speaker 3: a lot of the suburbs have a lot of really
- 30:23Speaker 3: great people that think things I think. But a lot
- 30:25Speaker 3: of the internals of the city and the politicians who
- 30:28Speaker 3: are in power here They remind me a lot of
- 30:31Speaker 3: places I've been before, and we don't want more of that,
- 30:34Speaker 3: and we don't want these people to have more outstretched
- 30:36Speaker 3: power throughout the state because there's no pushback. If you
- 30:39Speaker 3: don't have pushback at the higher levels, you have horrible, terrible.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Things, which you see in states like California and in Illinois.
- 30:47Speaker 3: All right, one last piece of audio I want to
- 30:48Speaker 3: play before we take a break. This is President Trump
- 30:50Speaker 3: just joking about Dan Sullivan, which I thought was pretty funny.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Let's play that audio.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Be respectful here because I don't want to call them
- 30:56Speaker 4: Democrats because this is a very serious charge. Democrats in Alaska,
- 31:01Speaker 4: despite their sworn statements to the contrary, put a man
- 31:06Speaker 4: named Dan Sullivan on the ballot in order to continue
- 31:09Speaker 4: the public with highly, think of it, they wanted to
- 31:14Speaker 4: continue the public dialogue. They wanted to say that there
- 31:17Speaker 4: was a man named Dan Sullivan on the ballot. He's
- 31:22Speaker 4: a great esteemed senator. So they found a man named
- 31:25Speaker 4: Dan Sullivan. And they put him on the ballot and
- 31:28Speaker 4: nobody can tell the difference. This is voter fraud at
- 31:32Speaker 4: the highest level of the Democrat candidate who is involved
- 31:35Speaker 4: in the scheme. Mary Peltola, who said she didn't know
- 31:40Speaker 4: anything about it in court. She should be removed from
- 31:45Speaker 4: the ballot and prosecuted, and so should the fake Dan Sullivan.
- 31:50Speaker 1: I think that's hilarious, and I think that's great.
- 31:52Speaker 3: My favorite part about that, and we'll take a break
- 31:54Speaker 3: and we'll come back with it in just a bit.
- 31:56Speaker 3: My favorite part about that is that it's the most
- 31:58Speaker 3: obvious voter fraud, and he's talking about it in a
- 32:01Speaker 3: way that makes you think about all the other types
- 32:04Speaker 3: of voter fraud that could still be going on. A
- 32:06Speaker 3: quick break, a lot more. This is KSED Mornings, The
- 32:09Speaker 3: Voice of Texas, Greg Colonnese, Wayne Del Trofino.
- 32:12Speaker 1: On Specialist 9. KSV Radio. Voice of Texas. Wayne Delgertino
- 32:17Speaker 1: is texting me.
- 32:19Speaker 3: He might not be capable of calling into the show
- 32:21Speaker 3: like last time that he was on special assignment, but
- 32:23Speaker 3: he is texting, which I love. And he asked me
- 32:25Speaker 3: if there is really poop on the streets. I think
- 32:28Speaker 3: he was just kidding. In San Francisco, I think there was.
- 32:30Speaker 3: I think right before Diplomat came into town, too, they
- 32:32Speaker 3: had to clean that up, which probably isn't fun, which
- 32:35Speaker 3: we don't want here. We don't want a lot of
- 32:36Speaker 3: that here in Texas. I don't see any poop on
- 32:38Speaker 3: the streets here, which is always good. A couple clips
- 32:41Speaker 3: that I like a lot that I'll play before we
- 32:44Speaker 3: start take the news break here in a little bit.
- 32:46Speaker 1: I want proof. I'm not getting it for you, Wayne.
- 32:50Speaker 1: I'm not doing that.
- 32:52Speaker 3: I love the fact that I can see his texts
- 32:53Speaker 3: on my computer that I'm playing audio from. I didn't
- 32:56Speaker 3: even realize I had that set up.
- 32:57Speaker 1: And there it is. I want to play a couple
- 32:59Speaker 1: clips from Texas voters.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Fox is doing a pretty good job of walking around,
- 33:03Speaker 3: just asking people whether it's in polling place lines or
- 33:07Speaker 3: like restaurants, what they think.
- 33:09Speaker 1: And what's going on?
- 33:10Speaker 3: One of these guys is like a 16 year old
- 33:12Speaker 3: kid in Dallas, which is amazing. The other guy is
- 33:15Speaker 3: a retired military veteran in Lubbock. Let's go military veteran first.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Not that I don't like the 16 year old kid's position.
- 33:23Speaker 3: I just tend to usually like. veterans and what they
- 33:26Speaker 3: say more. So here we go with this.
- 33:28Speaker 9: All right, this audio is a little screwed up, so
- 33:43Speaker 9: I probably won't play all of it.
- 33:43Speaker 3: He says we fought for it. He gets very emotional.
- 33:46Speaker 3: He's asked a question as to why he thinks it's
- 33:50Speaker 3: important to vote and vote red. And he said that
- 33:52Speaker 3: if you don't go other places, he went overseas and
- 33:55Speaker 3: fought for this country.
- 33:56Speaker 1: If you don't go other places, you don't understand. You
- 33:58Speaker 1: don't know the things that you should know.
- 34:00Speaker 3: And because of that, there's a lot of people who
- 34:02Speaker 3: are just confused.
- 34:03Speaker 1: That's bad.
- 34:03Speaker 3: I'm paraphrasing his position. I would have liked to play
- 34:06Speaker 3: all of it. I didn't expect the audio to be
- 34:07Speaker 3: distorted like that. It worked fine on my computer. Just
- 34:10Speaker 3: didn't work fine when I plugged in the headphone thing.
- 34:13Speaker 3: Let's try this one. Let's see if this one actually
- 34:14Speaker 3: works or hopefully plays better. This is The Kid. in
- 34:20Speaker 3: a diner in Dallas that's asked by Fox News why
- 34:22Speaker 3: he cares about who to vote for. I think he's
- 34:24Speaker 3: actually 19. I said 16 because he looks so young
- 34:27Speaker 3: to me. But the kid is a.
- 34:30Speaker 1: person who can vote so maybe his opinion is even
- 34:32Speaker 1: more important here we go.
- 34:33Speaker 6: What's your name uh my name is elijah okay and
- 34:35Speaker 6: elijah what's what's your big issue.
- 34:37Speaker 2: My big issue is school choice i want to have
- 34:40Speaker 2: the ability as a future father to know what my
- 34:42Speaker 2: kids are learning in school yeah uh know what values
- 34:45Speaker 2: are being instilled into them see if they're being uh
- 34:47Speaker 2: indoctrinated or not and if they are i want to
- 34:50Speaker 2: have the freedom to put them in a place where
- 34:51Speaker 2: they're truly.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Prospering The whole diner went crazy.
- 34:56Speaker 3: 19-year-old kid is like, as a future father, I want
- 34:58Speaker 3: to make sure to protect my children from the stupidity
- 35:00Speaker 3: of the left and the way that they try to
- 35:02Speaker 3: convince people to believe and say all kinds of things.
- 35:05Speaker 3: And that's what's important to me. And that's what I'm
- 35:06Speaker 3: voting for. Well done, kid. Well done, young man. And yeah,
- 35:11Speaker 3: I think that the best thing I'll say about that
- 35:13Speaker 3: is that's a reflection of Texas. You can go to
- 35:17Speaker 3: a diner in Dallas and find a 19-year-old and ask
- 35:20Speaker 3: them that question and get that answer.
- 35:21Speaker 1: That's not staged as much as it can be authentic.
- 35:24Speaker 1: to this state.
- 35:25Speaker 3: And that's one of the biggest reasons, I think, that
- 35:28Speaker 3: a Tallarico just can't win it and people like him
- 35:31Speaker 3: just can't wind up being in charge. And how much
- 35:34Speaker 3: Texas would regret that? Actually, not that I want it
- 35:37Speaker 3: to happen. I desperately don't want it to happen, actually.
- 35:40Speaker 3: But I wonder if the lesson could be learned and
- 35:42Speaker 3: learned long term, which never happens in politics, if Texas
- 35:46Speaker 3: made this terrible of a decision. It's different than if
- 35:49Speaker 3: you make just a basic mistake like, oh, we swung
- 35:52Speaker 3: a little bit on a direction we shouldn't have gone.
- 35:54Speaker 1: This is a full force swing. This is far left.
- 35:57Speaker 1: This is stupid.
- 35:58Speaker 3: And maybe they'd regret it so much they'd learn about
- 36:00Speaker 3: it and we'd have another 20, 30 years where it
- 36:02Speaker 3: didn't happen.
- 36:03Speaker 1: I don't know. I'd prefer that we keep the streak alive.
- 36:06Speaker 1: They should say that, by the way.
- 36:08Speaker 3: This should be a keep the streak alive campaign for
- 36:11Speaker 3: Texas and not electing a Democrat at a statewide race.
- 36:15Speaker 3: Streaks are always important in the world of sports. There's
- 36:18Speaker 3: something that people care about a lot. You know, Joe
- 36:21Speaker 3: DiMaggio's hit streak, one of the best and probably never
- 36:24Speaker 3: breakable records in the world of sports. Come on, let's
- 36:27Speaker 3: keep the streak alive in Texas and not vote anyone
- 36:30Speaker 3: into office that doesn't deserve it. And by the way,
- 36:33Speaker 3: I did watch the World Series last night. I did
- 36:36Speaker 3: see the Brewers actually win the thing. I was a
- 36:39Speaker 3: little surprised. I mean, they had a great regular season,
- 36:42Speaker 3: 103 wins, great team. They have the best pitcher on the.
- 36:48Speaker 1: So I don't know.
- 36:48Speaker 3: Like, I guess the Brewers were probably a much more
- 36:52Speaker 3: likely champion than I thought they were going into the playoffs.
- 36:55Speaker 3: It's just the Dodgers seemed so much more likely to
- 36:58Speaker 3: just win it all again. And right now, you know,
- 36:59Speaker 3: the funniest thing is I saw the projections for next
- 37:02Speaker 3: year last night. So as the Brewers are still celebrating
- 37:05Speaker 3: their World Series win, I saw a couple of those,
- 37:08Speaker 3: you know. sports thinking places, talking head places.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Because Vegas never sleeps. Yeah, because Vegas never sleeps. Tell me,
- 37:14Speaker 1: who is going to win next year? Dodgers, number one.
- 37:17Speaker 3: I think Yankees were third on that list, but I
- 37:20Speaker 3: don't even know if Brewers were in the top five.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Did you see that thing, too, or no, Russell?
- 37:23Speaker 4: I didn't, but they're probably not top five.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Yeah, which is crazy.
- 37:26Speaker 3: It's crazy to think that the champion, as they're celebrating,
- 37:29Speaker 3: you're like, eh, we don't know about next year.
- 37:31Speaker 1: We'll see.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Most of that core is staying intact. Most of the
- 37:34Speaker 3: young players are going to be there. They might lose
- 37:36Speaker 3: some of their pieces.
- 37:38Speaker 1: But who knows? I don't know. They'll have great pitching,
- 37:40Speaker 1: so that'll be a thing.
- 37:41Speaker 3: But the Dodgers can continue to reload whenever baseball actually happens.
- 37:45Speaker 3: By the way, that's the other thing I said to
- 37:46Speaker 3: my wife last night. We're watching the end of the
- 37:48Speaker 3: World Series, and she actually likes baseball enough to let
- 37:51Speaker 3: it be on, and she kind of watches. And I
- 37:54Speaker 3: was saying I'm just really sad, not just because the
- 37:57Speaker 3: Yankees did win, but that baseball probably won't be back
- 38:00Speaker 3: for a while.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Like, there's a good shot we might not even get
- 38:03Speaker 1: much of a season next year.
- 38:06Speaker 3: And I think if I distill it down to just
- 38:08Speaker 3: one issue, it's salary cap or no salary cap. I
- 38:12Speaker 3: think the owners have gotten to a point where they've
- 38:15Speaker 3: put enough money into the places they need that money
- 38:18Speaker 3: to go, and the owners have a bunch of money anyway,
- 38:20Speaker 3: to where they could sit out a whole season.
- 38:22Speaker 1: I think the owners aren't even really afraid of.
- 38:24Speaker 3: The idea of skipping 2027 if they don't get a
- 38:27Speaker 3: salary cap.
- 38:28Speaker 1: If they get that, they'll do whatever it takes to
- 38:30Speaker 1: get there.
- 38:31Speaker 3: And the players seem fairly adamant, and they've tried to
- 38:33Speaker 3: do as much as they can do, to protect themselves
- 38:36Speaker 3: from a long-term lockout to not do the salary cap.
- 38:39Speaker 1: I think that's all it's going to be.
- 38:40Speaker 3: I think if the owners get a salary cap at
- 38:42Speaker 3: some point in one of the collective bargaining agreements, we
- 38:45Speaker 3: have baseball next year. I think if they don't get it,
- 38:47Speaker 3: there's a chance we have no season. I don't know
- 38:49Speaker 3: if that's too extreme. I don't know if you agree, Russell,
- 38:52Speaker 3: or no.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I think they need to have a salary cap, but
- 38:55Speaker 1: the players don't want it.
- 38:56Speaker 4: I know.
- 38:56Speaker 3: They're going to fight it. Well, because it doesn't help them.
- 38:59Speaker 3: The salary cap is not good for players. It's not
- 39:02Speaker 3: just that they want the chance to make a bunch
- 39:04Speaker 3: of money themselves. They also want to be in a
- 39:06Speaker 3: negotiation with the Brewers and say the Yankees called, the
- 39:10Speaker 3: Dodgers called, and that inflates their value because all those
- 39:13Speaker 3: other teams have to be afraid that the rich teams
- 39:16Speaker 3: will throw a bunch of extra money at their mediocre players.
- 39:20Speaker 3: So everybody makes more money when there's no salary. I
- 39:22Speaker 3: don't think there's going to be a salary cap, man.
- 39:24Speaker 3: I think the players are going to stay as against
- 39:26Speaker 3: that as they possibly can, and I think it's going
- 39:29Speaker 3: to potentially cause.
- 39:30Speaker 1: no season.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Because the one thing that's funny to me, I'll say this.
- 39:32Speaker 3: I know we only got a couple minutes. Every time
- 39:35Speaker 3: you talk about collective bargaining in the world of sports,
- 39:39Speaker 3: I think people misunderstand athletes' brains. Because the athletes, they
- 39:43Speaker 3: don't want to lose anything. They don't want to lose anything.
- 39:46Speaker 3: They don't want to lose in the field. You watched
- 39:48Speaker 3: a bunch of grown men cry yesterday on the Tampa
- 39:50Speaker 3: Bay Rays when they lost. So like these guys see
- 39:54Speaker 3: this as a competition against the owners. And so you
- 39:57Speaker 3: could tell them the guy's making a couple hundred thousand
- 40:01Speaker 3: dollars that they're not going to get a salary this year.
- 40:03Speaker 1: And they'll be like, that's fine. I want to win.
- 40:05Speaker 1: I want to win no matter what. So I don't
- 40:07Speaker 1: think the players will give in. Well, we'll see. Maybe
- 40:09Speaker 1: I'm wrong.
- 40:10Speaker 3: Maybe somehow they'll get there. But I think the owners
- 40:12Speaker 3: are ready to sit out a whole season for no
- 40:13Speaker 3: salary cap. And I think the players are just athletes.
- 40:16Speaker 3: Their brains just work a certain way and they can't
- 40:18Speaker 3: really be rewired. We'll take a break in a little bit.
- 40:21Speaker 3: After the break, I do want to talk about another
- 40:23Speaker 3: clip from President Trump, because you know what I want
- 40:26Speaker 3: to do in the next segment? I'd like to demonstrate
- 40:29Speaker 3: to you, anyone listening, the way that media refuses to
- 40:33Speaker 3: cover some pretty simple things that the president says and does.
- 40:37Speaker 3: And so last night at one of the rallies that
- 40:39Speaker 3: he's had in Texas, The president of the United States
- 40:42Speaker 3: talked about what it's like to be on the road
- 40:44Speaker 3: all the time as the sitting president and how his
- 40:47Speaker 3: wife feels about it. I know people know Melania's name
- 40:51Speaker 3: and they know who she is and they. They picture
- 40:53Speaker 3: Melania when he says it. But even if you didn't,
- 40:55Speaker 3: even if you just like heard some guy in a
- 40:57Speaker 3: bar talking about how he's got to work a whole
- 41:00Speaker 3: lot and because he's working so much, his wife's complaining
- 41:03Speaker 3: he's not home enough. That's the kind of thing that
- 41:05Speaker 3: is very human. You hear that a lot. And Trump
- 41:07Speaker 3: does this and he does this, I think, pretty well
- 41:10Speaker 3: last night and describes Trump.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Seeing the lights of.
- 41:12Speaker 3: The White House as he's coming up to them and
- 41:15Speaker 3: how happy his wife will be when he gets home.
- 41:17Speaker 3: And I just think that that's one of the things
- 41:19Speaker 3: that we don't have enough of in politics.
- 41:21Speaker 1: We don't have enough people saying this in.
- 41:23Speaker 3: A believable way at a believable moment when they probably
- 41:26Speaker 3: could be saying something else. Trump could have spent more
- 41:29Speaker 3: time on anything other than the lights of the White
- 41:32Speaker 3: House as I'm driving up late at night to go home.
- 41:34Speaker 3: And that's one of the things that came up in
- 41:36Speaker 3: his speech yesterday.
- 41:37Speaker 1: A quick break.
- 41:38Speaker 3: A lot coming up. Hour two on the mob guys.
- 41:41Speaker 3: 700 a.m.
- 41:42Speaker 1: KSEV radio. More after this.
