- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to Conspiracy The Show with your hosts, Adam Todd
- 0:15Speaker 1: Brown and Conye mcspadin.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Hey, everybody, welcome to Conspiracy the Show.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I'm Adam Todd Brown, I'm condorm Spedding. Where your goddamn hosts.
- 0:30Speaker 1: How's it going, man, it's been good. It's been about
- 0:33Speaker 1: ten minutes since the last episode. I have a long
- 0:36Speaker 1: time I am operating under the influence of MK ultra. Yeah. Yeah,
- 0:41Speaker 1: I actually I saw a yep. Oh fuck, wait a
- 0:45Speaker 1: while and I left my gun in the car and
- 0:47Speaker 1: I did street parking, So I'll kill you next week.
- 0:50Speaker 1: That's fine. Yeah, dude, I we are both the two
- 0:52Speaker 1: people that would be assassinated because of our podcast. It
- 0:55Speaker 1: wouldn't be like Maren or like a big guy. It'd
- 0:58Speaker 1: be some some with a small, dedicated following.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I'm just I've gotten so good at connecting dots. I
- 1:03Speaker 2: could see myself.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Getting You're getting murdered if you really, because you you
- 1:07Speaker 1: The whole thing is is like you're not a journalist
- 1:10Speaker 1: per se. You do like a journalism and you investigate
- 1:13Speaker 1: things and make connections or whatever. Right, but it's all
- 1:15Speaker 1: it's all for the greater purpose of entertainment, right, if
- 1:18Speaker 1: you were just a guy who was out there like
- 1:19Speaker 1: five like, oh yeah, no, for for real, I'm not
- 1:22Speaker 1: fucking around. Ace of Bass is an agent of Nazi
- 1:25Speaker 1: fucking ideology, then I think I think you could probably
- 1:28Speaker 1: get at least like popped, you know, in the Hollywood Hotel. Yeah,
- 1:31Speaker 1: it was that live show. Go ahead and plug that.
- 1:33Speaker 2: I mean I wrote that Ace of Bass article about
- 1:35Speaker 2: them being Nazis.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's it's out there. But if you if
- 1:39Speaker 1: you put that on like huff po or something instead
- 1:42Speaker 1: of cracked, I feel like you could you would get assassinated. Yeah,
- 1:45Speaker 1: maybe I should approach Rolling Stone about it. Yeah, I
- 1:48Speaker 1: think that would get us a lot of good press. Yeah,
- 1:50Speaker 1: it'd be like a rapper with this. Everything would blow
- 1:52Speaker 1: up after the first shooting.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's not. I don't consider myself a journalist.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I feel like what I do is take, uh you
- 1:59Speaker 2: synthesize a journalists work and look at it like like
- 2:03Speaker 2: a conspiracy board almost, like yeah, yeah, story goes here,
- 2:07Speaker 2: and then there's a piece of yarn thumbtack and strings,
- 2:10Speaker 2: you know. Yeah, and then and I mean when these
- 2:12Speaker 2: podcasts happen, we got a.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Guy to jerk off on a picture of our roommate
- 2:16Speaker 1: just as a goof so I could. I could probably,
- 2:19Speaker 1: I could probably take down a very low level government.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I think if I really mobilize the mean boys listeners. Yeah,
- 2:24Speaker 1: we should try to program someone. We should. That would
- 2:28Speaker 1: be fun. Try on Patreon. We'll just we'll just hook
- 2:30Speaker 1: up like TCDs like electrodes to chet Wild and see
- 2:34Speaker 1: if we can get him to be racist or something like.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Well, oh, that wouldn't be hard. He's from upstate New York. Yeah,
- 2:40Speaker 2: it's true, he's born with it.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Probably just give him a croque out and then it
- 2:43Speaker 1: just the slurs will fly. So what are we talking
- 2:47Speaker 1: about today? The moon landing. I really resent moonlanding conspiracies
- 2:52Speaker 1: because mankind has done like two cool things. It's like
- 2:55Speaker 1: music and go to the moon as a species. Everything
- 2:58Speaker 1: else is very there's a lot of great and genocide
- 3:01Speaker 1: and slavery, but it's like we did some We have
- 3:03Speaker 1: some cool songs and paintings and we went to the
- 3:06Speaker 1: moon and those are pretty cool things. So it's like
- 3:08Speaker 1: one of the only things on our resume I think
- 3:10Speaker 1: is pretty universally neat. Yeah, even if we did do
- 3:14Speaker 1: it because of a nationalistic, fucking you know, pissing contest.
- 3:17Speaker 1: It's still a cool thing we did, right.
- 3:19Speaker 2: There's two versions of moonlanding conspiracies, and we're covering my
- 3:24Speaker 2: least favorite version today, which is that the moon landing
- 3:26Speaker 2: was faked. Yeah, because I'm with you, I need the
- 3:29Speaker 2: moon landing to have happened, but not really for the
- 3:32Speaker 2: same reason. Yes, it's cool, but I like the theory
- 3:35Speaker 2: that we went up there and saw that was what
- 3:37Speaker 2: was there and we were like, oh, we can't come
- 3:40Speaker 2: back here anymore.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Oh really we did that, by the because we I
- 3:44Speaker 1: did what seven I think we did four manned missions,
- 3:48Speaker 1: four man mission and we eventually just stopped and never
- 3:52Speaker 1: went back. There's also just not I mean, it's like
- 3:55Speaker 1: there's shit up there, but there's not. It's not like
- 3:57Speaker 1: there's like jungles and waterf It's like different kinds of
- 4:01Speaker 1: rocks and different rock formations that mean different things, you know.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Either that or the civilization is just inside the moon
- 4:09Speaker 2: and we found.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Oh you think that there was life on the moon.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I don't. I don't think.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I just of the two theories, I want that one
- 4:18Speaker 2: to be true.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I would want that. I would love for the two
- 4:20Speaker 1: thousand and one monolith and ship their pants.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I want that we went there and saw scary
- 4:26Speaker 2: shit and we're too spooked to go back. Way more
- 4:29Speaker 2: than that we faked it, but that we faked it
- 4:32Speaker 2: is a compelling conspiracy.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Also, it's got a lot of at, a lot of
- 4:37Speaker 1: got a lot of believers. Yeah we should.
- 4:40Speaker 2: We'll follow this up by doing one about the theories
- 4:43Speaker 2: about what happened when we got to the moon, because
- 4:46Speaker 2: they did hear.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Some spooky shit during the missions. There's that rookie UFOs
- 4:51Speaker 1: and stuff.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Hoarding of Neil Armstrong. I think it is saying that
- 4:55Speaker 2: he hears music, Yeah, when they were passing the dark side
- 4:59Speaker 2: of the moon. Yeah, and that's strange, that is odd.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Uh, Neil Armstrong. If you look at a picture of him,
- 5:06Speaker 1: he really is just like the most American looking boy.
- 5:08Speaker 1: You're just like, oh, oh, for sure, if you're putting
- 5:10Speaker 1: to do it in another world, you got this is
- 5:12Speaker 1: the fucking captain of the football team that also did theater,
- 5:15Speaker 1: that would also do the date of the same girl
- 5:17Speaker 1: and took her out for milkshakes every weekend. Like he's
- 5:20Speaker 1: just like a good like a fucking good old classic
- 5:22Speaker 1: looking man.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Yeah, he was the right right person to put up
- 5:25Speaker 2: there him man, buzz Aldron both.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I like buzz Aldron. Man. He just punches people in
- 5:29Speaker 1: the face. Character. Yeah, we're gonna talk about that at
- 5:31Speaker 1: the end of this. I love that dude. Well, he's
- 5:33Speaker 1: he wants to do the Aldron Cycler. I'm kind of
- 5:35Speaker 1: I used to be kind of a space space news guy.
- 5:37Speaker 1: What is the Aldron Cycler. It's interesting. It's gonna orbit
- 5:40Speaker 1: the Moon and it's a docking station. And what happens
- 5:43Speaker 1: is a docking Yeah, it's a foreskin. It's a cybernetic
- 5:46Speaker 1: foreskin that rockets attached to it. What orbits the Moon.
- 5:49Speaker 1: You go up and you you you dock up with it,
- 5:51Speaker 1: and then you use the momentum created by the orbit
- 5:54Speaker 1: to help you launch towards Marsh to do a man
- 5:57Speaker 1: mission to Mars. And that's his idea. And he's been
- 5:59Speaker 1: pitched in this since like the eighties, you know, but
- 6:02Speaker 1: everyone interesting, Yeah, go out there and do it, buzz.
- 6:05Speaker 1: So we got busy doing cocaine and giving tax breaks
- 6:08Speaker 1: to millionaires.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that happens. Yeah, that stuff was all
- 6:11Speaker 2: important too, just part got our president, just.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Part of human history, dude.
- 6:15Speaker 2: So let's go through the official story of the moon
- 6:17Speaker 2: landing quick in case any of you haven't seen.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Kids of you guys thirteen you guys have missed it.
- 6:23Speaker 2: In October nineteen fifty seven, after the Soviet Union launched
- 6:27Speaker 2: the first artificial satellite, Sputnik one, into orbit, the space
- 6:32Speaker 2: race was on. Less than four years later, in April
- 6:35Speaker 2: nineteen sixty one, the Soviet Union also sent the first
- 6:39Speaker 2: human Uri Gagarin, into space. The following month, President John F.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Kennedy declared to Congress.
- 6:45Speaker 1: This nation should commit itself to achieving the golf before
- 6:48Speaker 1: this decade is out of landing a man on the
- 6:50Speaker 1: Moon and returning him safely to the Earth. So we
- 6:52Speaker 1: did it. On July sixteenth, nineteen sixty nine, at nine
- 6:56Speaker 1: thirty two am Easter daylight high sixty nine the moon
- 7:04Speaker 1: Nice Dude.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Sixty nine spaceflight Apollo eleven was launched from Kennedy Space
- 7:10Speaker 2: Center in Merritt Island, Florida. The Apollo spacecraft had three parts.
- 7:14Speaker 2: A command module named Columbia, also the name of my
- 7:17Speaker 2: grade school.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Also named It was actually named after Jeb Bush's wife.
- 7:21Speaker 1: A lot of people don't know that. What I think
- 7:23Speaker 1: his wife's name is like Columba. Really, I think it's
- 7:26Speaker 1: like Columba Bush.
- 7:27Speaker 2: And I'm supposed to believe these motherfuckers weren't deeply ingrained
- 7:31Speaker 2: in the CIA, and every fucking thing that happened in
- 7:34Speaker 2: the sixties had their name on it.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, Yeah.
- 7:38Speaker 2: A command module named Columbia with a cabin to carry
- 7:42Speaker 2: three astronauts two and from lunar orbit, a service module,
- 7:46Speaker 2: and a lunar module named Eagle, which had two stages.
- 7:51Speaker 2: That was a red tailed hawk, a lower stage for
- 7:53Speaker 2: landing on the Moon and an upper stage to place
- 7:55Speaker 2: the astronauts back into lunar orbit.
- 7:57Speaker 1: They had a big stage in a small stage where
- 7:59Speaker 1: they let us do a door deal for the podcast show.
- 8:03Speaker 2: The three astronauts of board Apollo eleven were Mission commander
- 8:07Speaker 2: Neil Armstrong, Command module pilot Michael Collins, and lunar module
- 8:12Speaker 2: pilot Buzz Aldron. On July twentieth, nineteen sixty nine, at
- 8:17Speaker 2: twenty eighteen, Armstrong and Aldron landed the lunar module Eagle
- 8:21Speaker 2: on the Moon. About six hours later, Armstrong became the
- 8:24Speaker 2: first human to step onto the Moon's surface, and Altridden
- 8:29Speaker 2: joined him about twenty minutes later.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Fuck you Michael Collins and Michael Waite in the car.
- 8:35Speaker 1: We're gonna go fuck these broads, go pick us up
- 8:37Speaker 1: a pack of gummy bears and de gatorade. We gotta
- 8:39Speaker 1: replenish our fluids. God, that would suck.
- 8:42Speaker 2: They couldn't have just like driven for a minute and
- 8:44Speaker 2: let him go down and check out.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I don't think it would have logistically work because they
- 8:48Speaker 1: had to, like he had to be up there and
- 8:50Speaker 1: the yeah for the redock their shit. That sucks.
- 8:53Speaker 2: During this time, Collins piloted the Command Module Columbia in
- 8:56Speaker 2: orbit around the Moon. Armstrong and Aldron eventually used the
- 9:00Speaker 2: upper Stags to join Collins in the Command Module to
- 9:02Speaker 2: return back to Earth, leaving the Service Module and the
- 9:05Speaker 2: Lunar Module behind in space. They landed in the Pacific
- 9:09Speaker 2: Ocean on July twenty fourth. After that historic achievement, the
- 9:12Speaker 2: United States sent an additional five manned landings to the Moon,
- 9:16Speaker 2: the last in nineteen seventy two, for a total of
- 9:19Speaker 2: twelve men who have walked on the Moon's surface.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I got no a big fight with the girl one
- 9:24Speaker 1: time because she was like, I hate the Moon landing,
- 9:26Speaker 1: and I was like, what She's like, Well, they just like, there,
- 9:29Speaker 1: they just left litter on the moon. And the way
- 9:31Speaker 1: that's just what people do is we just pollute things.
- 9:33Speaker 1: And I was like, there's no ecosystem of life. We
- 9:37Speaker 1: left a piece of we left a flag off on
- 9:41Speaker 1: a big pilot of And also the size of the
- 9:43Speaker 1: all of five modules in relation to the moon is
- 9:47Speaker 1: astronomically insignificant. They're probably all covered with moon dust by now.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Well yeah, and she's like, well, you don't have to
- 9:53Speaker 1: like yell at me and be an asshole. And I
- 9:54Speaker 1: was just like, I'm sorry. That was just a profoundly
- 9:56Speaker 1: stupid fucking thing to say.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Have you ever used one of those Samsung VR headset things. No,
- 10:03Speaker 2: they have a setting. It's really cool. If you watch
- 10:06Speaker 2: a movie through it, it looks like you're watching it
- 10:08Speaker 2: on a movie screen, okay, like at the theater. But
- 10:11Speaker 2: you can also adjust the settings to make the room
- 10:16Speaker 2: look different.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Oh so they have a moon setting. I turn on
- 10:19Speaker 1: the black movie theater setting and then people heckle the
- 10:22Speaker 1: movie exactly, don't go in there.
- 10:25Speaker 2: But if you change it to the moon setting, you're
- 10:28Speaker 2: looking at a movie screen that looks like it's set
- 10:31Speaker 2: up on the moon. And if you look around there's
- 10:33Speaker 2: like lunar modules what. And the creepiest thing about it
- 10:38Speaker 2: is every time you look to your left, there's an
- 10:40Speaker 2: empty chair. And whenever I'd watch a horror movie, I
- 10:43Speaker 2: was always like, I'm gonna look over and there's gonna
- 10:45Speaker 2: be something in that fucking chair.
- 10:46Speaker 1: And there never was. But how great would that have been?
- 10:49Speaker 1: It's just one time we notice you're watching saw, so
- 10:52Speaker 1: we put a gray in the chair. Yeah, that would
- 10:54Speaker 1: have been great.
- 10:55Speaker 2: And I feel like that's what it must be working toward,
- 10:57Speaker 2: because that empty chair has to be for something. Yeah,
- 11:01Speaker 2: and it's maybe like watch movies with friends who are
- 11:04Speaker 2: in other parts.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Of Oh no, you got your little avatar guy that
- 11:06Speaker 1: yeah pulled up, so he's in the chair and you
- 11:08Speaker 1: look over and he's laughing or whatever.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Yeah, she's fucking jerking off. So yeah, that's the official
- 11:15Speaker 2: explanation for the moonlanding. Everyone knows that we went to
- 11:19Speaker 2: the fucking moon, and we went a few times and
- 11:21Speaker 2: then we stopped going, and here we are. But in
- 11:24Speaker 2: nineteen seventy six, Bill Casing self published a book called
- 11:29Speaker 2: We Never Went to the Moon America's thirty billion dollars Swindle.
- 11:34Speaker 1: I love that word. Swindle. It's a well, it was
- 11:37Speaker 1: like that was right around the time of the Sex Pistols,
- 11:40Speaker 1: A great rock and roll swindle. Yeah, I bet, I
- 11:42Speaker 1: bet that was what he was kind of playing. I
- 11:45Speaker 1: haven't seen that movie. I've heard it described to me
- 11:47Speaker 1: by Keith Carey and he gets crash. They just go
- 11:49Speaker 1: like party with Nazis in South America or something. Yeah,
- 11:51Speaker 1: it's it's a garbage movie. And isn't it just the
- 11:53Speaker 1: two sex Pistols nobody likes? Isn't it just Paul Cook
- 11:56Speaker 1: and like Glenn Mattlocke or something.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so, because I think the band was
- 12:01Speaker 2: in such a shambles by then.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I don't remember much of Johnny Rotten or said Vicious
- 12:06Speaker 2: in it. I just remember it being a terrible fucking movie.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm not a fan of the sex Pistols. I mean,
- 12:13Speaker 1: I liked some of their songs, but I think they're
- 12:15Speaker 1: I mean, they're the spice Girls of the fucking funk rock. Yeah. Yeah,
- 12:18Speaker 1: and I do. I'm much bigger fan of Public Image Limited.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Public Image Limited was a cool band. So yeah,
- 12:26Speaker 2: Bill Casing, despite having no knowledge of rockets, Casing worked
- 12:29Speaker 2: as a senior.
- 12:30Speaker 1: You know, nothing of rockets casing. How dare you?
- 12:33Speaker 2: He worked as a senior senior technical writer at Rocket Dine,
- 12:37Speaker 2: the company that built the engines used on Saturn five.
- 12:40Speaker 1: The most made up sounding company ever.
- 12:43Speaker 2: The rocket used to launch the Apollo missions. So that's interesting.
- 12:47Speaker 2: The guy that worked for the company that built the
- 12:50Speaker 2: engines that we alleged took us to the moon is
- 12:54Speaker 2: here to tell us that we didn't actually go to
- 12:56Speaker 2: the moon.
- 12:56Speaker 1: This seems like a guy who's just like, I'm a
- 12:58Speaker 1: copywriter for the Rock Company, and I don't like working
- 13:02Speaker 1: at the Rocket Company. So I'll use that like whatever,
- 13:05Speaker 1: like ancillary legitimacy that lends me to make this book
- 13:09Speaker 1: and just retire off of that money with my controversial
- 13:11Speaker 1: title my lit agent has cooked up for me. I
- 13:14Speaker 1: promise you he didn't retire off this book. Oh really,
- 13:16Speaker 1: it was not a big one way some of these
- 13:18Speaker 1: conspiracy books catch on. Man.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I suppose. I don't know if this was the
- 13:23Speaker 2: one though, But you.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Could do that if you ever, like strapped for cash.
- 13:26Speaker 1: You know, Ace of Bass, how they radicalized a nation.
- 13:30Speaker 2: I should I should throw up one hundred and fifty
- 13:32Speaker 2: page Ace of base book on Amazon.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Could do it in a night Adam started smoking again,
- 13:39Speaker 1: and well he's published five treatises on the nature of
- 13:43Speaker 1: pop music and Nazis.
- 13:45Speaker 2: In his book, Bill Cason claimed that the moon landing
- 13:49Speaker 2: photos contained several anomalies and that it would have been
- 13:52Speaker 2: easier for NASA to fake the moon landing than to
- 13:55Speaker 2: really go there. Well, yeah, obviously, yeah, that's almost always
- 13:59Speaker 2: easier to fake it.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Except for orgasms, the only thing it's hard to fake. Yeah.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Casing believed that it was statistically improbable for NASA to
- 14:09Speaker 2: pull off six successful manned missions, considering the number of
- 14:13Speaker 2: elaborate steps that would need to be flawlessly pulled off
- 14:17Speaker 2: within a very precise time frame for each mission.
- 14:21Speaker 1: This guy was raised as he saw us hidden figures,
- 14:23Speaker 1: and he didn't believe that black people could do the
- 14:25Speaker 1: math to get them up there.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Speaking to that point though, that the to pull those
- 14:30Speaker 2: missions off in that amount of time. We were bad
- 14:34Speaker 2: at getting space shuttles to the Moon without them blowing up.
- 14:37Speaker 1: I mean, only like two blew up, but yeah, or
- 14:39Speaker 1: to to the you know, just to yeah, the space station. Yeah, well,
- 14:43Speaker 1: I mean what it was is like you see pictures
- 14:45Speaker 1: of it, you just see a room full of exhausted
- 14:48Speaker 1: dudes and short sleeve shirts and ties with like crew cuts,
- 14:53Speaker 1: just all chain smoking and looking stressed as fuck.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Yeah, basically, yeah, it's I'm always surprised more people and.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Die in NASA missions. Yeah, but I mean it's like, uh,
- 15:03Speaker 1: I do uh again, one of the cool things that uh,
- 15:06Speaker 1: the fucking American government has ever done is NASA. Yeah.
- 15:09Speaker 1: So I mean, I do have a great amount of
- 15:11Speaker 1: respect and appreciation for those people. So I it's that's
- 15:14Speaker 1: that to me is not a deal breaker or a
- 15:17Speaker 1: point of contention in my mind.
- 15:19Speaker 2: In the book's initial publication, casing, theorized that the astronauts
- 15:23Speaker 2: were filmed entering the Apollo spacecraft, but then secretly disembarked.
- 15:28Speaker 2: The spacecraft launches without them.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Oh they had a trapdoor.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Yeah, And the astronauts are flown to Nevada where they
- 15:34Speaker 2: film the fake landings and otherwise wander around Vegas.
- 15:38Speaker 1: You know, we're not letting them out to go play blackjack.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Aren't you supposed to be on the moon right now,
- 15:44Speaker 1: one of the most watched television events of the century,
- 15:47Speaker 1: if not the most. And they're just like, I'm pretty
- 15:49Speaker 1: sure buzz Aldrin is drinking a Martini playing craps brother.
- 15:53Speaker 1: If you knew how drunk I was right now, you'd
- 15:55Speaker 1: think I was on the moon.
- 15:58Speaker 2: He later changed his theory to this, The astronauts were
- 16:01Speaker 2: launched with the Saturn five. Then in order to account
- 16:06Speaker 2: for their disappearance, they simply orbited the Earth for eight days,
- 16:10Speaker 2: and in the interim they showed these fake pictures of
- 16:13Speaker 2: the astronauts on the Moon. But on the eighth day,
- 16:16Speaker 2: the command console separated from the vehicle and descended to Earth,
- 16:19Speaker 2: as of course was shown in the films. So now
- 16:22Speaker 2: he's saying they went to space, but they just stayed
- 16:27Speaker 2: in orbit, never actually went to the moon.
- 16:29Speaker 1: No, no, no discount the fact that Soviets had radar
- 16:34Speaker 1: technology that could have shown if there was something orbiting
- 16:36Speaker 1: their fucking atmosphere and would have loved to have disproven
- 16:39Speaker 1: us and made us to be phonies for the whole
- 16:41Speaker 1: world and humiliated us. But it did orbit for.
- 16:44Speaker 2: The whole time, because remember they left one guy in
- 16:47Speaker 2: there in orbit, so it.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Would have been orbit. Oh they orbited the Moon, not
- 16:50Speaker 1: the Earth, right, Okay, Well, I mean I think that's
- 16:53Speaker 1: what they're Yeah, they just they just said it. No,
- 16:56Speaker 1: orbited the Earth. For eight days. Oh yeah, you could
- 16:58Speaker 1: have detected that. Yeah, everybody would have led to have
- 17:01Speaker 1: that scoop. Yeah, we would have figured that out. Yeah,
- 17:04Speaker 1: come on, Bill Casing please, dude, I fucking debunked your
- 17:06Speaker 1: shit right now. You didn't deserve to get rich off
- 17:08Speaker 1: that book. Dude. Has anyone ever been drunk in space?
- 17:11Speaker 1: Because they make people in space do out They're just like, oh,
- 17:14Speaker 1: I don't know, exercise, Let's see what it does to
- 17:15Speaker 1: your bones, like they have, like that was what the
- 17:18Speaker 1: space station was for. It's like, ah, let's see what
- 17:20Speaker 1: happens if you, you know, just chew bubblegum really hard.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Has anyone ever gotten like trashed in space? I'm sure
- 17:26Speaker 1: they have, like to test the you know, I wonder
- 17:29Speaker 1: it'd be interesting to see.
- 17:30Speaker 2: I like when they take viruses up to space and
- 17:32Speaker 2: just kind of like let them out and go, what's
- 17:35Speaker 2: gonna happen?
- 17:36Speaker 1: I know? Yeah? And it could go so bad? Oh
- 17:38Speaker 1: for sure. Yeah, we're in a tube. Who knows?
- 17:41Speaker 2: Yeah, the Have you ever seen a documentary called Evacuating Earth?
- 17:45Speaker 2: No if I don't know if it's still on Netflix,
- 17:47Speaker 2: but if you can find it, watch it. It's about
- 17:49Speaker 2: what we would do to prepare and evacuate. If we knew,
- 17:55Speaker 2: like we if a neutron star was coming towards Earth,
- 17:58Speaker 2: we would have about seventy to seventy five years, notice,
- 18:02Speaker 2: yeah before it hit and destroyed the planet, so we
- 18:05Speaker 2: would have that windows.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I thought it was hard to get misfits tickets rocket tickets.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Yeah that the rocket they end up building, or the
- 18:14Speaker 2: ship they end up building, can hold two hundred and
- 18:17Speaker 2: fifty thousand people.
- 18:18Speaker 1: You want, Well, what I think you want to build
- 18:20Speaker 1: is a generation ship. Yeah, it's a generation ship. Yeah,
- 18:23Speaker 1: which is something that Asima read about. I think it
- 18:26Speaker 1: was no a Far Centaurus where they get to Alpha
- 18:28Speaker 1: Centauri and then you know, they just like realize all
- 18:31Speaker 1: their loved ones are dead and shit. But you can
- 18:32Speaker 1: like grow food in there and have like some kind
- 18:34Speaker 1: of limitted society. It's a Chinese really, you know. One
- 18:38Speaker 1: kid deals It's.
- 18:39Speaker 2: It's really interesting. They go through all the things that
- 18:42Speaker 2: would be required to set up that ship and what
- 18:45Speaker 2: it would be like on the ship. And my favorite
- 18:47Speaker 2: part though it's this great documentary, but then it gets
- 18:49Speaker 2: to the part where the Earth is being destroyed and
- 18:52Speaker 2: the only people watching are these two young boys who
- 18:56Speaker 2: are just playing soccer in the street on their generation ship,
- 19:00Speaker 2: and then they just happened to look out the window
- 19:02Speaker 2: and Earth is fucking going up in flames, and no
- 19:04Speaker 2: one else gives a shit.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Oh really, it's just these two kids who are like, oh,
- 19:07Speaker 1: not are problem? Well, look that's Earth. It's exploding. I
- 19:11Speaker 1: wonder do you bring any artifacts? Did you bring? Does
- 19:13Speaker 1: the Mona Lisa make it on the generationship? Like I wonder?
- 19:16Speaker 2: Like, yeah, I think they did, like include that. Like
- 19:21Speaker 2: you have to figure out like what historical stuff you're gonna.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Bring you can get the most, you can get most
- 19:26Speaker 1: shit like copy did you just bring a couple external
- 19:29Speaker 1: hard drives? Yeah, you know with the with the Rosetta
- 19:32Speaker 1: Stone and everything on it.
- 19:33Speaker 2: What's crazy is for like the first I don't know,
- 19:37Speaker 2: twenty thirty years, it'd be kind of dope because there'd
- 19:40Speaker 2: be so many jobs. Oh yeah, Like if you were
- 19:42Speaker 2: gonna die before it hits, it wouldn't be the worst
- 19:46Speaker 2: time to be alive.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, it's there'd be.
- 19:49Speaker 2: So much work for everybody because you're all I mean,
- 19:52Speaker 2: wars would either go away or get significantly worse. Yeah,
- 19:55Speaker 2: you know it, But it wouldn't be the worst time.
- 19:57Speaker 1: I've always thought the humanity needed kind of a unified
- 20:00Speaker 1: in crisis, like aliens or something to sort of satis
- 20:02Speaker 1: side our differences.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I've always thought America needed one, like a Nazi getting
- 20:06Speaker 2: elected president.
- 20:07Speaker 1: But turns out that doesn't unite us. Oh yeah, but Adam,
- 20:10Speaker 1: have you seen these cures photoshops of this squirrel that
- 20:12Speaker 1: are trending right now? That's all I look at again,
- 20:16Speaker 1: the Twitter moments every day, aids airborne and contagious. Oh,
- 20:19Speaker 1: Demi Lovado has a new man. It's just so funny,
- 20:22Speaker 1: the juxtaposition of these things placed next to each other
- 20:24Speaker 1: with equal importance. Yeah, it's insane.
- 20:27Speaker 2: So let's talk about some of the theories behind uh
- 20:32Speaker 2: pretty much. The thing about the moon landing is almost
- 20:34Speaker 2: all of this shit has been debunked in some.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Way with the great MythBusters about it.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Which makes me so hopeful because I'm telling you, I
- 20:42Speaker 2: want the temples on the moon shit, I want that
- 20:45Speaker 2: to be real.
- 20:45Speaker 1: You want the future. I'm a bug ranch. You know.
- 20:48Speaker 2: One of the claims, the flag scene that they planted
- 20:52Speaker 2: on the moon is fluttering and despite you know, there's
- 20:57Speaker 2: no there's no air, there's no breeze in the moon atmosphere,
- 21:01Speaker 2: So why is the flag fluttering? According to NASA, the
- 21:06Speaker 2: flag had been stored in a thin tube and the
- 21:09Speaker 2: rippled effect was caused by it being unfurled before being planted.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Like do these people not understand wrinkles? Like look at
- 21:16Speaker 1: my laundry. This is not like, yeah, there's no airflow
- 21:19Speaker 1: in my fucking basement, Like it's yeah.
- 21:21Speaker 2: In the book Apollo Expeditions to the Moon, Buzz Aldrin
- 21:24Speaker 2: is quoted as saying it took both of us to
- 21:26Speaker 2: set it up, and it was nearly a public relations disaster.
- 21:30Speaker 2: A small telescoping arm was attached to the flag pole
- 21:33Speaker 2: to keep the flag extended and perpendicular. As hard as
- 21:37Speaker 2: we tried, the telescope wouldn't fully extend. Thus the flag,
- 21:41Speaker 2: which should have been flat, had its own permanent wave.
- 21:45Speaker 2: So fuck you conspiracy theorists.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Yeah, see that one. Yeah again, stupid? Yeah? Uh it
- 21:53Speaker 1: was like it wasn't I don't think it was made
- 21:54Speaker 1: out of like fabric. Yeah, I don't think it was
- 21:56Speaker 1: like some weird mylar type shit.
- 21:59Speaker 2: You would almost think it would have to be some
- 22:00Speaker 2: sort of different fabric because I'm guessing we're not making
- 22:04Speaker 2: our standard flags aren't in a CEA in a spacefaring condition,
- 22:10Speaker 2: like I doubt you could just drape yourself in up.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Adams doctor, Like mister Brown would love to have you
- 22:15Speaker 1: on the generation ship, but you're not in a space
- 22:17Speaker 1: faring condition. We can't.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Oh that documentary. Also, the reason I brought that up
- 22:23Speaker 2: is we kind of don't know what the first baby
- 22:25Speaker 2: born in space would be like, because that's a whole different.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Like gravity plays a big part in well, you want
- 22:32Speaker 2: to have reduction in everything.
- 22:34Speaker 1: You'd want to have it like rotating to create like
- 22:36Speaker 1: an artificial gravity, I think is the idea. Oh yeah,
- 22:39Speaker 1: they would.
- 22:40Speaker 2: They would have a there would be a centrifuge basically
- 22:44Speaker 2: spinning at all times. Yeah, to create some create an
- 22:47Speaker 2: artificial gravity would also create energy.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Like you see that in Oh interesting, Oh yeah, you
- 22:51Speaker 1: see that, And then in fucking in two thousand and
- 22:53Speaker 1: one where David Bowman is jogging around the centrifuge, you know, right,
- 22:58Speaker 1: and that's a cool ass fucking scene. He's gonna he's
- 23:01Speaker 1: gonna come up in a second. But yeah, you so
- 23:02Speaker 1: you need to like solar power. It there's a kind
- 23:04Speaker 1: of drive that's not it's not like a rocket drive.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I think it's like an electron drive that they can
- 23:09Speaker 1: kind of do that's very it's not very fast, but
- 23:12Speaker 1: they'd just kind of like, let's just start moving towards something,
- 23:15Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, And it's like, do you stay in
- 23:18Speaker 1: the Solar System because you need the energy from the Sun.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, it's yeah, that's part of the
- 23:23Speaker 2: like the whole generationship thing is you have to at
- 23:25Speaker 2: least for part of it be somewhat close to the Sun. Yeah,
- 23:29Speaker 2: because I mean, you're not gonna like part of finding
- 23:31Speaker 2: a planet that we could live in depends on it
- 23:35Speaker 2: being close.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Stuff to the Sun. That'd be a fun because it
- 23:39Speaker 1: would have to yeah, yeah, because you'd have to be
- 23:40Speaker 1: like illegal to fuck. Probably you'd only have you know,
- 23:42Speaker 1: only you'd have to have a kid at a you'd
- 23:44Speaker 1: have to be very careful about when you're having kids,
- 23:46Speaker 1: you know. Yeah.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Yeah, Like a life on a generation ship sitcom, it's
- 23:52Speaker 2: probably out there probably, if not, is there, like a
- 23:56Speaker 2: Colonizing a New Planet sitcom? Because I'm a I'm all
- 23:59Speaker 2: my mind is always blown by these people who are
- 24:01Speaker 2: like I want to get to I want to colonize Mars.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I want to be one of the first ones there,
- 24:05Speaker 2: and it's like why so fucking a fleet of intergalactic
- 24:10Speaker 2: trumps can show up fifteen years later like this is
- 24:13Speaker 2: ours Now.
- 24:14Speaker 1: You set up a casino on Mars.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Yeah, you're like, we're native Martians and they're like, fuck
- 24:18Speaker 2: you space.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Indians out of spaces in America. Oh, they thought they're
- 24:23Speaker 1: gonna sail around the universe and discover some other countries.
- 24:26Speaker 1: So they're just gonna Ah, you guys are glip lorps.
- 24:28Speaker 1: We've you know, Yeah, I want people to do that.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I don't want to do it. I want that to happen.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I don't want to be Yeah, the guys, you know, yeah,
- 24:36Speaker 1: they got fuck that. I'm going to be a farmer.
- 24:38Speaker 1: No no, no, no, no, call me when you need comics. Yeah,
- 24:42Speaker 1: imagine how long it's going to take to get a
- 24:44Speaker 1: podcast to Mars. It's got to like fly through the data.
- 24:47Speaker 1: You think about your AT and T bill on Mars
- 24:49Speaker 1: would be astronautic.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Let we just record them at a lower bit rate
- 24:52Speaker 2: probably okay, twenty four five.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Yeah, they get AM radio quality. Sounds like a phone
- 24:57Speaker 1: call in the forties. Yeah, at LB saying the N
- 25:00Speaker 1: words pants.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Another claim solar radiation would have killed the astronauts. The
- 25:07Speaker 2: Earth has two main Van Allen belts which trap dangerous
- 25:10Speaker 2: solar radiation, thus protecting our atmosphere from destruction. In order
- 25:15Speaker 2: to reach the Moon, the astronauts must pass through these belts.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Conspiracy theorists claim that the sheer levels of radiation would
- 25:22Speaker 2: have been lethal.
- 25:23Speaker 1: I forget what Van Allen belts are. That's one of
- 25:25Speaker 1: these things I used to know about.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's I mean, it sounds like it's just a
- 25:31Speaker 2: layer of radiation that keeps our atmosphere safe from the
- 25:34Speaker 2: ship that's going on in space. But the astronauts only
- 25:40Speaker 2: spent short amounts of time passing through the belts, which
- 25:43Speaker 2: minimize their exposure. On board radiation dosometers registered radiation levels
- 25:48Speaker 2: similar to getting two ct scans of your head.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Dosometer sounds like a word you'd make up when you
- 25:54Speaker 1: don't know the actual word. Yeah, yeah, if i'd be
- 25:57Speaker 1: getting an into a fight with you, a boy, something
- 25:59Speaker 1: I know, nothing will get Adam. If you check the
- 26:00Speaker 1: fucking dosometer, you'll see it's not actually an issue. I
- 26:04Speaker 1: didn't bring my dosometer. Do you have yours? We're both lying, uh,
- 26:10Speaker 1: leaving a footprint requires moisture in the soil, say some
- 26:14Speaker 1: conspiracy theorists. The explanation there.
- 26:17Speaker 2: According to astronomer for astronomer Fill Astronoma Phil astronoma fur
- 26:24Speaker 2: God damn.
- 26:25Speaker 1: It, let's call him astrophil.
- 26:28Speaker 2: According to astronomer Phil Plate, lunar dust is quote like
- 26:32Speaker 2: a finely ground powder. When you look at it under
- 26:36Speaker 2: a microscope, it almost looks like volcanic ash.
- 26:39Speaker 1: That's the only reason we went up there nixton and
- 26:41Speaker 1: got addicted to snorting moon dust. That would be pretty great.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I think there's a Simpson's gag where crushed to the
- 26:47Speaker 1: clown is broke because he's been freebasing moon rocks. I
- 26:51Speaker 1: saw a moonrock at the LBJ Museum. It was kind
- 26:53Speaker 1: of cool. Oh really Yeah, Well I wanted to touch it,
- 26:56Speaker 1: but I'm like, yeah, someone would just sharp be a
- 26:57Speaker 1: dick on the moon rock and that's a bad look.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I would. It's crazy how much moon rocks
- 27:03Speaker 2: are working. I mean, I guess it's not crazy, Like,
- 27:05Speaker 2: how are you going to.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Get one the original big coining without going to the
- 27:08Speaker 1: fucking moon? Yeah?
- 27:09Speaker 2: Yeah, there was that story not too long ago about
- 27:12Speaker 2: one did the woman like found some moon rocks or
- 27:14Speaker 2: something what and ended up south. But there was like
- 27:18Speaker 2: this big legal back and forth I think about whether
- 27:21Speaker 2: they were going to be able to sell them, but
- 27:22Speaker 2: they did end up selling them for like millions of dollars.
- 27:24Speaker 1: I think that shit is called rego is what the
- 27:28Speaker 1: most the name of a pokemon is. Let's look that
- 27:31Speaker 1: up moon rock boom. Oh it's the dust, that's the
- 27:34Speaker 1: name of it. Oh that's the dust, dude. The best
- 27:36Speaker 1: college cost I ever took was geology the Solar system.
- 27:39Speaker 1: That shit was so interesting. Oh really Yeah during my
- 27:41Speaker 1: brief community college career.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I didn't go to college more than a
- 27:44Speaker 2: couple of semesters.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Yeah, but I for for there was like six months
- 27:48Speaker 1: where I could tell you a bunch of shit about Jupiter. Dude,
- 27:50Speaker 1: I knew it all man. Yeah, I don't know much
- 27:52Speaker 1: about space. I need to, like it, needs to be
- 27:55Speaker 1: a big space guy. But I just lost it. Really,
- 27:57Speaker 1: I know a vague amount.
- 27:58Speaker 2: I just when I was in school, I paid attention,
- 28:02Speaker 2: like enough to get good grades, but I didn't retain shit.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Like I don't know a lot about Like I've learned
- 28:09Speaker 2: more doing these podcasts.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Oh for sure. I just learned being institutionalized. Like, I
- 28:14Speaker 1: just wanted to get to the point where they said
- 28:16Speaker 1: it was fine and they didn't have to worry about it. Yeah.
- 28:19Speaker 2: For me, it was more I just want to do
- 28:22Speaker 2: this in a way that requires the least amount of
- 28:25Speaker 2: work possible. But also people don't yell at me for
- 28:28Speaker 2: being lazy. Yeah, totally like and it's like I was
- 28:32Speaker 2: a smart kid. I was able to figure it out.
- 28:34Speaker 2: And but because of that, like people are like, oh,
- 28:36Speaker 2: you didn't read so and so in high school. I'm like, probably,
- 28:39Speaker 2: but I wasn't on fucking care.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Yeah I didn't. I was, you know, any all my
- 28:42Speaker 1: free time was devoted towards, you know, looking at crass lyrics,
- 28:46Speaker 1: you know. So, yeah, it's all this dusty you can
- 28:52Speaker 1: compress with a boot.
- 28:53Speaker 2: The next claim there should be a blast crater on
- 28:55Speaker 2: the lunar surface. According to NASA, no creator should.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Be buzz auldron. There should be a blast crater. In
- 29:02Speaker 1: your fucking face.
- 29:04Speaker 2: The ten thousand pounds thrust system was throttled very far
- 29:08Speaker 2: down and due to the lack of gravitational pull good point,
- 29:12Speaker 2: the exhaust gas expanded very quickly, so there was not
- 29:15Speaker 2: enough pressure per square foot to cause a blast crater. Additionally,
- 29:20Speaker 2: once you get under a thin layer of lunar dust,
- 29:22Speaker 2: the surface is very compact, like solid rock, so it
- 29:26Speaker 2: would be impossible for the descent engine to blast out
- 29:29Speaker 2: a crater. NASA approximates that the Apollo eleven landing module
- 29:33Speaker 2: eroded only four to six inches during the final descent
- 29:38Speaker 2: and landing.
- 29:38Speaker 1: It's like if you like landed in a like a
- 29:41Speaker 1: like a sandbox full of talcum powder. You know, yeah,
- 29:44Speaker 1: pretty much just blows away. This one.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Uh, this is one that people This next claim is
- 29:50Speaker 2: one that people hold up as like the most obvious, Like, well,
- 29:53Speaker 2: obviously they're faking it. And that's why are there no
- 29:56Speaker 2: stars in any of the photos, man, the same reason
- 29:59Speaker 2: there's no star in Los Angeles.
- 30:00Speaker 1: There's a lot of fucking lights. Yeah, the moon, Like
- 30:02Speaker 1: that's what you can see it in the skies. It
- 30:04Speaker 1: reflects the light of the sun.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's that is the NASA's explanation is the
- 30:10Speaker 2: light from the Sun hitting the surface of the Moon
- 30:12Speaker 2: was so bright that it washed out the light from
- 30:15Speaker 2: the stars.
- 30:16Speaker 1: And they didn't have Instagram filters at the time where
- 30:18Speaker 1: they could change the brightness settings.
- 30:20Speaker 2: And the astronauts also use fast exposure settings for their photographs,
- 30:24Speaker 2: which limited incoming background light, and like people point to
- 30:29Speaker 2: that as evidence of them faking it. If they faked it,
- 30:33Speaker 2: I don't think they would overlook the scars stars. Yeah,
- 30:38Speaker 2: Like that would be a thing where if there were stars,
- 30:41Speaker 2: I feel like someone would be like.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa? Why can we see all those stars?
- 30:46Speaker 2: Ye?
- 30:47Speaker 1: Well, no matter what it is, someone would be like, whoa,
- 30:49Speaker 1: how come, oh come, there's dudes up there. How do
- 30:52Speaker 1: you get dudes? Dudes are heavier than women. Why didn't
- 30:54Speaker 1: you send women first? That's kind of a good point.
- 30:59Speaker 1: It probably would have caught seven million less dollars. There's
- 31:02Speaker 1: that number. How much did Like there's like a there's
- 31:03Speaker 1: a number where it's like it costs like sixteen thousand
- 31:06Speaker 1: dollars per pound to send living into space, So if
- 31:08Speaker 1: you want to bring a ukulele, it costs like the
- 31:11Speaker 1: taxpayers six thousand dollars or whatever it is. I thought
- 31:14Speaker 1: that was funny. That's pretty great. Uh.
- 31:17Speaker 2: There's another claim that you can see studio lights in
- 31:21Speaker 2: the background of some of the pictures, which, again, like
- 31:25Speaker 2: why would they put that out? Why would they release
- 31:27Speaker 2: that if they were faking it. Yeah, like it's a
- 31:30Speaker 2: fucking that. What this looks like is some JJ abramshit, yeah,
- 31:33Speaker 2: which means it's a lens flare. This is every every
- 31:36Speaker 2: lens flare in property.
- 31:38Speaker 1: We're all familiar with the moon, and he's done, he's
- 31:40Speaker 1: added lens flair. Yeah, and then now it's what we're
- 31:43Speaker 1: were with a lot of money. What a cool fucking
- 31:45Speaker 1: picture though. That is a cool picture.
- 31:46Speaker 2: And I'm telling you that that VR headset, that's what
- 31:49Speaker 2: you're fucking when you look around in your room. That's
- 31:51Speaker 2: what it looks like when you're watching a movie. They
- 31:54Speaker 2: also have one that makes your perspective like if you were.
- 31:57Speaker 1: You turn far enough around you see Stanley Kubrick in
- 31:59Speaker 1: a direct your share no no no less stars, I
- 32:02Speaker 1: said less.
- 32:03Speaker 2: They have another one where your perspective is like you're
- 32:06Speaker 2: a bug and you're watching the movie on an iPhone
- 32:09Speaker 2: that has fallen into the grass. So there's like all
- 32:13Speaker 2: these super tall mushrooms and shit around.
- 32:16Speaker 1: It's trippy as that's so weird. I mean, it's one
- 32:19Speaker 1: of these things where there's not that much like technology
- 32:22Speaker 1: for it, so they have to have like an unbuilt
- 32:24Speaker 1: in shit to like, yeah, the purchase like the Wei,
- 32:27Speaker 1: Like okay, fuck, we gotta make like a quick tennis
- 32:29Speaker 1: thing because people haven't figured out this motion technology yet. Yeah,
- 32:32Speaker 1: you know, and.
- 32:33Speaker 2: It all seems cool until you're halfway into a movie
- 32:36Speaker 2: and you're like, this thing is fucking heavy on my head.
- 32:39Speaker 1: I can't get up and walk. Yeah, I can't do anything.
- 32:41Speaker 1: I had for a while. I think my desktop background
- 32:44Speaker 1: was I believe it was one of the Gemini capsules
- 32:46Speaker 1: that like burnt Alive, and it's the dudes walking into
- 32:48Speaker 1: the Gemini capsule like big Bridge and fucking Cape Canaverla
- 32:52Speaker 1: or wherever, and it's just a creepy picture, like just no,
- 32:54Speaker 1: it's like it's really will for It's like beautiful picture
- 32:57Speaker 1: and you're like, oh shit, that's the last picture of
- 32:59Speaker 1: these guys alive. Yeah that's creepy. I would have to
- 33:01Speaker 1: be like a good album cover for like a techno guy.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Yeah would Uh, companies should hire me. I got a
- 33:07Speaker 1: lot of vague good ideas for like marketing and stuff. Yeah,
- 33:11Speaker 1: I mean I think I could be like a consultant,
- 33:13Speaker 1: like a brand consultant. We could like I don't see
- 33:17Speaker 1: why why why? Wait, we can get you that job.
- 33:19Speaker 1: We could be like fixers. Yeah, yeah, because I got
- 33:23Speaker 1: a good eye for what people are gonna make fun
- 33:24Speaker 1: of on the Internet, and people fuck that up so oftenly,
- 33:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so Oftenly, I'm a smart guy. What you
- 33:30Speaker 1: wanted to hire me? Well, it's just like every single
- 33:33Speaker 1: brand should have one sixteen year old with a boner
- 33:36Speaker 1: to be like, no, no, no, you're what that new
- 33:38Speaker 1: ad campaign is gay? And then oh yeah, yeah, sure
- 33:41Speaker 1: you should just know that that is gay, you know,
- 33:43Speaker 1: and they're be like, oh, thank you, Devin. Have some
- 33:45Speaker 1: have some big lights.
- 33:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that would be that would be a good idea.
- 33:50Speaker 2: I worked for a website and they brought this social
- 33:53Speaker 2: media guy in and that was bad because I also
- 33:58Speaker 2: really really know the internet have been like especially websites,
- 34:02Speaker 2: Like I've been writing for Cracks since two thousand and seven.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Yeah, like I've been doing that for ten fucking years.
- 34:08Speaker 2: And they brought this guy in at another website I
- 34:12Speaker 2: worked at as like a social media consultant, and I
- 34:15Speaker 2: had written this really solid article and like really funny
- 34:19Speaker 2: captions and I'm on this skype call with him and
- 34:22Speaker 2: he pulls it up and goes, uh, fucking too many words,
- 34:26Speaker 2: too many words?
- 34:26Speaker 1: Picture of Emmanuel Lewis. I like that, Nope, you gotta
- 34:29Speaker 1: trim it down.
- 34:30Speaker 2: And I was like, fuck you, cunt, I'm not doing
- 34:33Speaker 2: shit you say, and I will quit this company if
- 34:35Speaker 2: my boss makes me keep working with you. But I
- 34:37Speaker 2: feel like, in general, that guy might have been helpful
- 34:40Speaker 2: for other people.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Yeah. You know what's funny is it when you do that?
- 34:42Speaker 1: I'm imagining the scene of the movie Ray where he's
- 34:45Speaker 1: recorded what did I say? He's like, you cut that song,
- 34:47Speaker 1: I'll cut you in a heead you cut those dick jokes.
- 34:49Speaker 1: I'll cut you out of my life. Yeah, that's kind
- 34:51Speaker 1: of what it was. Yeah. Uh.
- 34:53Speaker 2: There's another claim that there's a moon landing photograph that
- 34:56Speaker 2: shows a rock with a C engraved on it, so
- 34:59Speaker 2: it's clearly a film prop and a set designer really
- 35:02Speaker 2: screwed up.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Why would there be a sea on a movie.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Prop rock for one thing, But also NASA eventually released
- 35:10Speaker 2: the original photo and there is no sea, so.
- 35:13Speaker 1: It was a pube. Someone was jerking off in the
- 35:15Speaker 1: dark room, which, again, if you work in a dark room,
- 35:17Speaker 1: what else are you gonna do?
- 35:18Speaker 2: Yeah, you're gonna jerk it in the dark room, And
- 35:20Speaker 2: it does kind of look like a puber and eyelash.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Yeah, you're gonna developing just moon pictures. You get some
- 35:24Speaker 1: like boudoir like nudes that someone was taking for their
- 35:27Speaker 1: husband for a Christmas gift. Oh yeah for sure. Yeah.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Uh So let's talk about the best part about this
- 35:34Speaker 2: theory to close out, which is the Stanley Kubrick theory. Yes,
- 35:39Speaker 2: which is basically he also claims. Bill Cason claims in
- 35:43Speaker 2: his book that two thousand and one A Space Odyssey
- 35:47Speaker 2: was really a cover.
- 35:48Speaker 1: For the moonlanding hoax.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Which this is one of the most famous parts of
- 35:53Speaker 2: this theory is that Stanley Kubrick is the one who
- 35:56Speaker 2: faked the moonlanding.
- 35:58Speaker 1: It's like, Okay, there is a cover. We're gonna make
- 36:00Speaker 1: you and Arthur C. Clark, right, the best science fiction
- 36:02Speaker 1: story of all time. And then right, not far fetched
- 36:06Speaker 1: at all. No, he uh, we needs you to write
- 36:09Speaker 1: a groundbreaking novel so we can kill one of the Beatles. Uh.
- 36:15Speaker 1: You do that again, whenever you tied to the I'm like,
- 36:18Speaker 1: it's such a good work of art or it like
- 36:21Speaker 1: you can't just like you can't make that in a laboratory.
- 36:24Speaker 1: That's what everyone tries to do, where they're like all right,
- 36:26Speaker 1: we got this chicken. She's seventeen years old, and look
- 36:28Speaker 1: if we molest her now and give her sing lessons,
- 36:30Speaker 1: we can have a pop star in two years. You know.
- 36:32Speaker 1: It's like that. She never works out. You get Kesha
- 36:34Speaker 1: or whatever, anything like manufactured musicians, right like, But you
- 36:37Speaker 1: can't do it with a movie. You can't. They try
- 36:39Speaker 1: that every fucking day, to do that with a movie
- 36:41Speaker 1: where it's like, grd, we're just gonna get the guys
- 36:43Speaker 1: who wrote these other things that made a million dollars,
- 36:44Speaker 1: We'll make a million more dollars. It's like, no, no
- 36:46Speaker 1: one wants to go see fucking Jumanji, right, you know
- 36:48Speaker 1: you can't. It doesn't work like that. You can't just
- 36:51Speaker 1: make this shit for a bigger project, or if you do,
- 36:54Speaker 1: it's gonna come out shitty right right?
- 36:57Speaker 2: And yeah, the uh he was? This is from Bill
- 37:01Speaker 2: Casing's book. While two thousand and one was being filmed,
- 37:04Speaker 2: Kubrick and his crew consulted with nearly seventy industrial and
- 37:08Speaker 2: aerospace corporations, universities, observatories, weather bureaus, laboratories, and other institutions
- 37:15Speaker 2: to ensure that the film would be technically accurate.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Well, I mean that's debunked because when he made Clockwork Orn,
- 37:21Speaker 1: she actually joined a gang and killed forty five old
- 37:24Speaker 1: ladies as research. So he was just a very diligent filmmaker.
- 37:28Speaker 2: But like with this, wouldn't some of those government agents?
- 37:32Speaker 2: Like some wouldn't some of those agencies have been government agencies.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Yeah, so like why the space exploration was all on
- 37:39Speaker 1: a federal level? Really there was no Elon Musk's or
- 37:42Speaker 1: SpaceX prizes or anything, or Richard Branson. It was all them.
- 37:46Speaker 2: And it's like that research. You could have done that
- 37:51Speaker 2: research just for the moon landing. Also, I feel like
- 37:53Speaker 2: you would need to know most of those things.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Yeah this, had this been done without the cover of
- 37:59Speaker 1: two and one, much suspicions would have been directed toward
- 38:03Speaker 1: those making those inquiries. Not really like you might just
- 38:07Speaker 1: be like, what's space? Like Stanley Kubrick's weird? Yeah you
- 38:10Speaker 1: told me Stanley Krekubrick wanted to know everything about poisonous frogs.
- 38:14Speaker 1: I wouldn't be like he's trying to make a toxin.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Then you know, it's just is he still alive? He's
- 38:19Speaker 1: still alive?
- 38:19Speaker 2: Right?
- 38:20Speaker 1: No, he's been dead for a while. Oh really? Yeah,
- 38:22Speaker 1: Rest in peace? Stanley because they finished that AI movie
- 38:25Speaker 1: without him. Oh yeah, Spielberg and Haley Joel lo Ousman.
- 38:28Speaker 2: His version of The Shining was significantly better than Stephen King's.
- 38:32Speaker 1: H I haven't seen it, too scared. You haven't seen
- 38:35Speaker 1: The Shining. I don't like. I don't like to be scared,
- 38:37Speaker 1: you know. I don't like to be scared because I'm like, Okay,
- 38:41Speaker 1: magic isn't real, but I'm still scared. And now I'm
- 38:44Speaker 1: mad at myself for being stupid enough to be scared
- 38:47Speaker 1: by fake magic.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Uh, yeah, it's not. The Shining's not really that kind
- 38:51Speaker 2: of horror movie. Yeah, I should watched it because I
- 38:54Speaker 2: just about a dude who gets cabin fever really bad
- 38:57Speaker 2: and kind of loses his mind. Yeah, and murders try
- 39:00Speaker 2: to murder his family, but.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Said Adam as he tries to backlog a whole month
- 39:03Speaker 1: of podcast bet Christmas for his family.
- 39:06Speaker 2: So others believe that NASA was so impressed with Kubrick's
- 39:10Speaker 2: outer space scenes that they approached him after the release
- 39:14Speaker 2: to assist with shooting a fake moon.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Landing in the documentary. Have you seen the documentary? Room
- 39:19Speaker 1: two three? So? Oh, if you've never seen The Shining
- 39:20Speaker 1: then you've never seen Room two three seven. No, I
- 39:22Speaker 1: only watch documentaries about movies I haven't seen.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Uh, it's a documentary about all of these different theories
- 39:30Speaker 2: about what Stanley Kubrick's movie Version of the Shining is
- 39:34Speaker 2: actually about, and about the hidden messages in it. And
- 39:38Speaker 2: one of the people in that movie, Jay Widener, the filmmaker,
- 39:41Speaker 2: claims that Kubrick scattered hidden messages in The Shining to
- 39:46Speaker 2: hint at his involvement, including Danny's Apollo eleven sweater and
- 39:52Speaker 2: the fact that he had changed the room number to
- 39:54Speaker 2: two three seven because quote, two hundred and thirty seven
- 39:58Speaker 2: thousand miles is the distance from the Earth to the
- 40:01Speaker 2: moon end quote.
- 40:03Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 40:03Speaker 2: It's actually two hundred and thirty eight eight hundred and
- 40:06Speaker 2: fifty five owned they.
- 40:09Speaker 1: I also don't buy people planting clues in shit. Yeah.
- 40:12Speaker 2: I feel like once they get to planting clues, it's
- 40:15Speaker 2: because they know it's not true and they just want
- 40:17Speaker 2: to fuck with people.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like you only do that if you're Kevin
- 40:21Speaker 1: Smith and you want to make a fun mal rats
- 40:23Speaker 1: reference in the Clerk's movie. Like, I think that's like
- 40:25Speaker 1: the deep as deep as it goes I don't think
- 40:28Speaker 1: anyone is ever like, oh, I'm trapped in I'm trapped
- 40:30Speaker 1: in a fortune cookie making factory, Like I don't think
- 40:32Speaker 1: that shit really goes on.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Or like on the Tupac episode, we talked about the
- 40:36Speaker 2: song Eminem produced where he did the thing at the
- 40:38Speaker 2: end to make it sound like Tupac was shouting out
- 40:42Speaker 2: Eminem and g Unit and all that, when he was
- 40:44Speaker 2: really like, you can even hear that, he's just putting
- 40:47Speaker 2: taking words Tupac said in different places and stitching them together. Yeah,
- 40:52Speaker 2: and yeah, this it's you know, kind of I feel
- 40:56Speaker 2: like if Stanley Kubrick was putting moon landing messages in
- 40:59Speaker 2: the Shining, it was to fuck with people like this.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Yeah, and but even then, if you'd picked any number,
- 41:05Speaker 1: if it was Room one hundred and eighteen, they'd be like,
- 41:08Speaker 1: that's the number of blah blah blah blah blah.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, dude, you know it's just And they also
- 41:14Speaker 2: point to the key chain that has the words room No.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Two three seven, and that you can only extract the
- 41:24Speaker 2: words room and moon from those letters. Uh maroon moron.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Or no not maroon, oh moron. Definitely you can get
- 41:33Speaker 1: fucking morons. Yeah, that's my theory. You're a moron. Yeah? More?
- 41:38Speaker 1: Oh o R how do you like that shit? Yeah?
- 41:42Speaker 1: What a stupid fucking I don't like this. I'm glad.
- 41:46Speaker 1: I like dude. There are other like whenever I see them,
- 41:48Speaker 1: like this guy's just obsessed with Stanley Carric moves, just
- 41:50Speaker 1: like there's fucking other movies man, Like, Yeah, you know,
- 41:53Speaker 1: don't You don't have to just keep rewatching it until
- 41:56Speaker 1: you go crazy and you're looking for moon landing nuggets,
- 41:59Speaker 1: you know, right?
- 42:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I like this because this still gives me hope
- 42:04Speaker 2: that my preferred moon landing theories are the real ones.
- 42:09Speaker 2: The monsters and monsters and Nazis and moon rocks that
- 42:15Speaker 2: turn into aliens that kill you.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Have you seen Apollo nineteen? I haven't. Now, Well, you
- 42:20Speaker 1: don't like being scared? Goddamn it.
- 42:22Speaker 2: It's a found footage movie about the secret last manned
- 42:27Speaker 2: mission to the Moon. Oh interesting, and it's it's pretty
- 42:30Speaker 2: fucking creepy. I saw it when I was high on
- 42:33Speaker 2: synthetic weed. Oh you're doing spice and I almost had
- 42:36Speaker 2: a panic attack.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Wow, that shit is no joke. Yeah, they smoked it
- 42:40Speaker 1: for a long time.
- 42:41Speaker 2: I wrote my first when I got hired officially by Cracked, my.
- 42:45Speaker 1: First dude, it's all coming together now, my first conspiracy
- 42:48Speaker 1: theories everything.
- 42:49Speaker 2: My first column was about smoking synthetic weed, and it
- 42:53Speaker 2: was years before that shit really became oh I news.
- 42:56Speaker 1: My neighbors were really on the cutting edge of like drugs,
- 42:59Speaker 1: and and I never really joined them any of these.
- 43:02Speaker 1: But they're talking about like neo tropics, like years before
- 43:04Speaker 1: Joe Rogan. These guys are like, I want to get
- 43:06Speaker 1: all just fucking jacked up on ELFI inine or whatever.
- 43:09Speaker 1: And I just so, this is crazy exactly idea to me.
- 43:12Speaker 1: And they're talking about spice because it's cannabinoids or or
- 43:14Speaker 1: cannabis is whatever. It's in wheat, and they just create
- 43:16Speaker 1: these molecules that is like one little fucking particle different
- 43:20Speaker 1: so it operates. You bring in a fairly similar way,
- 43:22Speaker 1: but in a much less stable, research natural way, and
- 43:26Speaker 1: they get a bunch of that shit. They just spray
- 43:27Speaker 1: it on like oregano, and then we buy at the
- 43:30Speaker 1: liquor store. Marshmallow leaf is interesting, okay.
- 43:34Speaker 2: And yeah like it. You could buy it all over
- 43:37Speaker 2: the place in South Dakota. And I used to smoke
- 43:39Speaker 2: that shit and take cough syrup and sometimes drink all
- 43:42Speaker 2: at the same time.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Wow, And I am lucky to be alive. Dude. Yeah,
- 43:46Speaker 1: there's a great advice to ements about dudes that smoke
- 43:48Speaker 1: spice in England. And this dude is like at this
- 43:51Speaker 1: like rehab facility and he's spazzing out because he hasn't
- 43:54Speaker 1: had a spice stick in like an hour or some shit,
- 43:57Speaker 1: and he's just like, Wow. Beck When I used to
- 43:59Speaker 1: be and it was hilarious. It's like treat street trash English.
- 44:02Speaker 1: I used to be on my bud and that was fine,
- 44:04Speaker 1: but I can't afford me bud, so I'm ont displashed
- 44:06Speaker 1: and it's no good. This is more expensive, is it really?
- 44:09Speaker 1: Maybe in England it's cheap or whatever.
- 44:12Speaker 2: And I don't it must be getting cheaper here, but
- 44:14Speaker 2: I feel like when I was buying at a gas
- 44:15Speaker 2: stations it was like twenty five dollars a gram. Oh wow,
- 44:18Speaker 2: which that's a lot for I mean, that's high end
- 44:21Speaker 2: weed like that.
- 44:22Speaker 1: They find the ways to make that shit legal where
- 44:25Speaker 1: it's just slightly one mully and then they crack down
- 44:28Speaker 1: on that one and these molecules of this drug get
- 44:30Speaker 1: more and more unstable until it's just like, what the
- 44:33Speaker 1: fuck are you putting in your body? Yeah? That's insane.
- 44:35Speaker 2: So let's let's close out by watching a famous clip.
- 44:40Speaker 2: This is mostly people aren't going to be able to
- 44:41Speaker 2: see it, but go google it. This is a clip
- 44:44Speaker 2: of Buzz Aldrin just getting accosted, like Buzz.
- 44:53Speaker 3: Howdly going? Whatever?
- 44:55Speaker 1: Me? What's your name?
- 44:56Speaker 3: Part part sibral, part simple, give your name for my Yeah,
- 45:02Speaker 3: I got one for you, one for your lawyer to
- 45:04Speaker 3: assume me. I hope you do. I'd love to go
- 45:07Speaker 3: to court and shove a window shop.
- 45:08Speaker 1: I know you'd like to.
- 45:09Speaker 3: Get a lot of attention, wouldn't you. Well, you're the
- 45:12Speaker 3: one getting money for something you didn't do. You're getting
- 45:15Speaker 3: a lecture for walking on the moon when you didn't Well,
- 45:17Speaker 3: that's called being a thief. That's called being a thief.
- 45:23Speaker 3: This guy's so bold get to heaven without repenting.
- 45:26Speaker 1: He's a little torp. Did he say, do you think
- 45:28Speaker 1: you can get to heaven without.
- 45:29Speaker 3: Repentable that you walked on the moon?
- 45:31Speaker 1: Oh my god, what a bitch.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Why don't you swore on the Bible that you walked
- 45:36Speaker 3: on the moon.
- 45:37Speaker 1: That is bothering Buzz a little bit. His buzz looks off.
- 45:40Speaker 1: He's got a powder blue suit on. He's talking to
- 45:43Speaker 1: a Canadian mounty.
- 45:45Speaker 3: For some reason, Ichnology swore in the Bible that you
- 45:48Speaker 3: walked on the moon.
- 45:49Speaker 1: It doesn't sure, I don't have nothing to do with this. Okay,
- 45:51Speaker 1: you're not solicit on this park.
- 45:53Speaker 3: We just paid No dude, run out the penthouse that
- 45:55Speaker 3: shoot up.
- 45:55Speaker 1: There, so.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Like here comes all right, well then here comes the
- 46:02Speaker 2: magic moment.
- 46:03Speaker 3: Yeah, they gotta keep cheating man. Okay, well you put
- 46:06Speaker 3: on your shoulder, don't be shy.
- 46:09Speaker 1: You really like you're.
- 46:11Speaker 3: The one who said you walked on the moon when
- 46:13Speaker 3: you didn't. Calling the kettle black if ever thought of saying,
- 46:16Speaker 3: I misripper, get it my way from me. You're a
- 46:18Speaker 3: coward and a liar.
