- 0:08Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on? Everybody?
- 0:09Speaker 2: Welcome into another episode of the Checko Daily. It's Andrew
- 0:13Speaker 2: de Checko, Eagles beat reporter for Inside the Birds dot
- 0:16Speaker 2: Com with you, And today was day four of Eagles
- 0:19Speaker 2: training camp. Weather pushed it indoors, which is always an
- 0:23Speaker 2: interesting conundrum when you're fitting ninety players, the coaches and
- 0:28Speaker 2: training staff and media as well into the Eagles practice bubble.
- 0:32Speaker 1: But they may do.
- 0:33Speaker 2: And they got a lot of quality work in the
- 0:35Speaker 2: practice run about an hour and forty minutes.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Today, and.
- 0:41Speaker 2: I thought that while there's been a lot made about
- 0:44Speaker 2: the offense and how they've really struggled to find their rhythm,
- 0:49Speaker 2: they're able to get some things going today.
- 0:51Speaker 1: And I thought Jalen.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Hurts had his best practice of the summer through four practices,
- 0:57Speaker 2: of course, but that's why it's so important that you
- 1:00Speaker 2: never want to make too much off of a few
- 1:03Speaker 2: days a day a week. You want to let things
- 1:06Speaker 2: develop a little bit and give them the benefit of
- 1:09Speaker 2: the doubt that they're going to figure it out.
- 1:11Speaker 1: But let's get to the practice report.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Not practicing outside linebacker Keyshawn James Newby with an ankle.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Right tackle Lane Johnson excused not injured related.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Guard Michael Morris' shoulder, guard Jayden Roberts calf contusion, and
- 1:31Speaker 2: safety Coal was Nesky hamstring limited offensive tackle Cameron Williams
- 1:36Speaker 2: with a knee contusion. It's also worth noting that rookie
- 1:41Speaker 2: wide receiver Makai Lemon was a participant during individuals, but
- 1:45Speaker 2: I did not see him during team drill, something certainly
- 1:48Speaker 2: that I will be monitoring moving forward. I do think
- 1:53Speaker 2: that Tuesday's practice really stands to be the best of
- 1:57Speaker 2: the or the most eventful of the of the season
- 2:01Speaker 2: for training camp. But practice began in a seven on
- 2:08Speaker 2: seven session, or I should say a team period, and
- 2:12Speaker 2: it was first team offense versus the second team defense,
- 2:16Speaker 2: so you were seeing a lot of mixing and matching
- 2:18Speaker 2: on the defensive back end, Andre Sam and Michael Carter
- 2:22Speaker 2: the second at safety. They were working in Jacoryan Bennett,
- 2:27Speaker 2: Ambry Thomas and Mac McWilliams at corner. Taric Castro Fields
- 2:32Speaker 2: got in for a handful of reps. The linebackers were
- 2:34Speaker 2: Chance Campbell and Smile Monden Junior Jaywhen Hurts actually threw
- 2:42Speaker 2: his first interception of the summer to Quinnon Mitchell during
- 2:47Speaker 2: this session, and it was Elijah Moore who was the
- 2:51Speaker 2: intended receiver. It looks like there was a miscommunication along
- 2:54Speaker 2: the sideline there. Quinyon Mitchell secured the pass. Another highlight
- 2:59Speaker 2: from this session, linebacker Chance Campbell sniffed out a run
- 3:03Speaker 2: for Sakwon Barkley. It was to the right for no gain.
- 3:06Speaker 2: You can see that there was the players along the sideline.
- 3:09Speaker 2: We're pretty excited to see him.
- 3:11Speaker 1: There make a play there, and.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Jaywen Hurts and Elijah Moore had a really nice connection.
- 3:19Speaker 2: It was a deep post where he threaded the needle.
- 3:22Speaker 2: He really ripped it in there. Nice completion. Elijah Moore,
- 3:25Speaker 2: who was excused from Sunday's practice. He's an interesting player
- 3:30Speaker 2: and I continue to talk about him and I will
- 3:32Speaker 2: as long as he keeps making plays.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Because he can play the receiver position.
- 3:37Speaker 2: The question becomes how does he fit into the special
- 3:40Speaker 2: teams equation here? And maybe that's where he becomes looked
- 3:44Speaker 2: at as a pump returner potentially, but as a receiver
- 3:47Speaker 2: he's made plays and when Jalen Hurts is looking your
- 3:50Speaker 2: way and you answer the.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Call, you're gonna get more of those opportunities.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Andy Dalton was first up as the second team quarterback.
- 4:01Speaker 2: The third team quarterback was Tanner McKee, But that's a
- 4:06Speaker 2: rotation that's going to continue to go on. I thought
- 4:08Speaker 2: Andy Dalton had a nice practice today. Didn't notice a
- 4:10Speaker 2: ton from Tanner McKee. Just quickly scanning my notes. Again,
- 4:14Speaker 2: I haven't had a chance to sit there and organize
- 4:16Speaker 2: them and write it for the website, so I'm kind
- 4:19Speaker 2: of giving you guys, you know, my fresh perspective here,
- 4:23Speaker 2: so I apologize if.
- 4:24Speaker 1: They're a little bit scattered.
- 4:26Speaker 3: But Andy Dalton had a good practice.
- 4:28Speaker 1: He hit.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Quez Watkins, there was a play that he had where
- 4:35Speaker 2: he had a nice throw over the middle to Johnny
- 4:37Speaker 2: Wilson on an inbreaker with ja Hot Campbell and coverage.
- 4:43Speaker 2: The Tanner McKee play from this session that I recall
- 4:47Speaker 2: was one.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Hey, Philly fans game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 4:51Speaker 4: long lines, We've all been there, But when it comes
- 4:54Speaker 4: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 4:59Speaker 4: the dispensery for sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly,
- 5:03Speaker 4: with plenty of free parking. You'll be in and out fast,
- 5:06Speaker 4: no hassle, no waiting, and they don't just care about
- 5:09Speaker 4: convenience camedn Apothecary is all about the guest experience. Their
- 5:14Speaker 4: staff makes sure you feel taken care of every time
- 5:17Speaker 4: you walk in. Plus, they carry only the best quality
- 5:21Speaker 4: cannabis at the fairest prices, so whether you're stocking up
- 5:25Speaker 4: for the tailgate, the watch party, or celebrating a big win,
- 5:29Speaker 4: you know you're getting the good stuff without overpaying. They
- 5:32Speaker 4: even show love to the community with specials for fans, students,
- 5:37Speaker 4: service members, and healthcare pros. Cam din Apothecary top quality cannabis,
- 5:42Speaker 4: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 5:45Speaker 4: one and up.
- 5:47Speaker 2: And then Tanner McKee hits rookie tight Ond Eli Stowers
- 5:50Speaker 2: on a short pass to the right, but he's popped
- 5:53Speaker 2: by linebacker Zach Bond.
- 5:55Speaker 3: That was the first portion of those drills.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Then you get to the eleven on eleven period and
- 6:00Speaker 2: veteran edge rusher aj Epenessa Sachs and I put that
- 6:04Speaker 2: in their quotes. Tanner McKee, there was nothing open down
- 6:07Speaker 2: the field. Quinnon Mitchell with the interception for seven on seven.
- 6:13Speaker 2: That was one that I mentioned was a miscommunication there
- 6:15Speaker 2: at least it appeared to be along the sideline, but
- 6:19Speaker 2: as you'll learn here in a moment, Elijah Moore made
- 6:21Speaker 2: up for that. Later on, Johnny Munt caught a crosser
- 6:26Speaker 2: from Jay when Hurts was Zach Bond in a coverage.
- 6:28Speaker 3: There was one moment where Zach Bond, by the.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Way, had a really active practice looking back, but Jalen
- 6:34Speaker 2: Hurts tried deep to tank Bigsby.
- 6:36Speaker 1: He led the you know the past was.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Would have led him out of bounds and it was
- 6:41Speaker 2: too far anyway, But pretty good coverage there from Bonn.
- 6:45Speaker 2: And then the play that I was referring to was
- 6:48Speaker 2: actually Elijah Moore with this is the deep post play
- 6:52Speaker 2: because that's where Jayalen threw probably his best past the day,
- 6:56Speaker 2: really ripped it in there. Drew mccoob was coming over
- 6:58Speaker 2: a little bit late there, but it was a really
- 7:01Speaker 2: good pass to thread it in between, you know, find
- 7:04Speaker 2: the saft spot. It was the deep post. And then
- 7:07Speaker 2: Andy Dalton fit another one into Hollywood Brown between Jonathan
- 7:11Speaker 2: Jones and Andre Sam on an over route. Andy Dalton
- 7:15Speaker 2: checked it down left to Elijah Moore shortly thereafter, but
- 7:19Speaker 2: Andre Sam was right there to tag him.
- 7:21Speaker 3: If that were a game situation, he's likely.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Getting blown up.
- 7:24Speaker 2: But nevertheless, there was also a moment where Cole Payton
- 7:28Speaker 2: had made the notebook. Here he chucked it shot deep
- 7:32Speaker 2: to wide receiver Era Gazukonma. It was a crowded It
- 7:37Speaker 2: was a crowded traffic jam there, and Maximus Pulley was
- 7:42Speaker 2: there to break it up. But the most fascinating part
- 7:44Speaker 2: of practice was the eleven on eleven red zone period.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts connects with wide receiver DeVante Smith inside the
- 7:52Speaker 2: right pylon. It was an out route where he created
- 7:56Speaker 2: just enough space between Jonathan Jones to give Jayalen Hurts
- 8:01Speaker 2: a nice window to get the ball to him. He
- 8:03Speaker 2: gets right inside the right pylon, then he goes right
- 8:05Speaker 2: back to Devonte Smith, who gets in front of Cornerbackreek Wollen,
- 8:09Speaker 2: So Davonte Smith and Jayalen Hurts heating up a little
- 8:12Speaker 2: bit there in the tight red zone. Andy Dalton gets
- 8:18Speaker 2: in the action there and he goes to Eli Stowers,
- 8:21Speaker 2: but the pass is well defended by edge rusher Arnold A.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Bkatie who rips the pass away and then Andy Dalton
- 8:28Speaker 2: responds by ripping an inbreaker to wide receiver Johnny Wilson.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Johnny Wilson's been a little quiet.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Over the past couple of practices, Darius Cooper has sort
- 8:37Speaker 2: of elevated his performance and he's gotten more first team reps,
- 8:40Speaker 2: and that held true on Monday. Then they get into
- 8:44Speaker 2: the third and eight situations, and this was a third
- 8:46Speaker 2: and eight from the eight. Andy Dalton does a nice
- 8:49Speaker 2: job scanning the field, staying poised and composed in the pocket,
- 8:52Speaker 2: and then with nothing developing in the end zone, he
- 8:55Speaker 2: ends up checking it down at Will Shipley to the
- 8:57Speaker 2: right side and Will pretty much waltz right in for
- 9:00Speaker 2: a walk in score. Dalton then hits Hollywood Brown in
- 9:05Speaker 2: the left corner with Ambry Thomas in coverage, not for
- 9:09Speaker 2: a touchdown, but he got it out to him. Then
- 9:12Speaker 2: there's another third and eight situation from the a Tanner
- 9:15Speaker 2: McKee the quarterback. He takes the snap, it looks like
- 9:19Speaker 2: he wants to go to Danny Gray on the out route,
- 9:22Speaker 2: similar to the one I just outlined for Devonte Smith.
- 9:25Speaker 2: But I thought that undrafted rookie Kapina gushikin the nickel
- 9:29Speaker 2: corner did a nice job of taking that away. But
- 9:32Speaker 2: Tanner remained composed and then he fired one off into
- 9:35Speaker 2: the back of the end zone to know what in
- 9:37Speaker 2: particular looked like.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I think Stone's smart.
- 9:39Speaker 2: The tight end may have been the target, but it
- 9:41Speaker 2: looked like it was picked off by Maximus Pulley. But
- 9:44Speaker 2: it turns out that it was ended up. It ended
- 9:46Speaker 2: up incomplete. In a red zone situation, Jalen Hurts keeps
- 9:51Speaker 2: it up the middle for a touchdown.
- 9:53Speaker 1: He looks spry.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I think that's important to note. Not only does he
- 9:56Speaker 2: look leaner, he looks to be a little bit more
- 9:59Speaker 2: explosive in dynamic than he was last season, and that
- 10:02Speaker 2: was really indicative of that. Taking it up the middle
- 10:05Speaker 2: and getting into the end zone. Andy Dalton in the
- 10:10Speaker 2: red zone, it looked like Keeley Ringo was flagged against
- 10:13Speaker 2: Darius Cooper and he lost it up to No One
- 10:17Speaker 2: in that in that situation. So as we move forward
- 10:22Speaker 2: here towards the latter part of this situation, Andy Dalton
- 10:29Speaker 2: hands it off to to Tank Bigsby Moro Jomo, who
- 10:35Speaker 2: also had a really nice practice, got into the backfield
- 10:37Speaker 2: and Byron Young was there to.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Wrap him up.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Third and two with the ones going up with eleven
- 10:43Speaker 3: on eleven.
- 10:44Speaker 4: If I could create a cash app card to best
- 10:47Speaker 4: represent my family, it would be a cup of coffee,
- 10:50Speaker 4: but not in a mug. It would be in one
- 10:52Speaker 4: of those styrofoam to go cups. Because basically that is
- 10:56Speaker 4: our family, always hitting those coffee places with the styrofoge cups.
- 11:00Speaker 4: You know them very well and nothing makes my kids
- 11:03Speaker 4: happier than hitting up those places early and often. For

- 13:13Speaker 2: That was a handoff to Saquon Barkley up the middle
- 13:18Speaker 2: second and five, Darius Cooper makes a really nice sliding play.
- 13:22Speaker 2: He extends for it and Jalen Hurts then keeps it
- 13:25Speaker 2: on the next play.
- 13:27Speaker 1: The second team offensive line was you're looking at.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Mark hel Bell, Jake Majors, Drew Kendall, Michael Jordan, and
- 13:40Speaker 2: Fred Johnson as well at right tackle. Fred Johnson got
- 13:42Speaker 2: the initial nod with Lane Johnson out there at right tackle,
- 13:46Speaker 2: but Markel Bell also got a little bit of work
- 13:49Speaker 2: there as well. That's a really interesting situation and one
- 13:51Speaker 2: that I will be certainly keeping an eye on moving
- 13:54Speaker 2: forward and we'll see how they distribute the snaps in.
- 13:58Speaker 1: The preseason as well. U R.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Bernard picked up his first sack of training camp. It
- 14:06Speaker 2: was nice to see him out there and getting some work.
- 14:09Speaker 2: He got some developmental work late in the session. He
- 14:11Speaker 2: got in there along with Ty Robinson, so he'd like
- 14:14Speaker 2: to see that. There was one instance where Cameron Williams
- 14:18Speaker 2: bleue uar off the ball and Cameron Williams helmet came off.
- 14:21Speaker 2: That was again towards the back end of the session,
- 14:24Speaker 2: but from a developmental period. There was one play where
- 14:28Speaker 2: Cole Peyton hitsdaikuon right, but it was short of the
- 14:31Speaker 2: end zone. Then there's the second and eight and Cole
- 14:34Speaker 2: Payton throws throws behind, really behind Carson Steele on the flat,
- 14:40Speaker 2: but he responds favorably and he fires into the back
- 14:44Speaker 2: of the end zone for wide receiver Eric Azukama, who
- 14:47Speaker 2: bobbles it with good coverage from tree castro fields, but
- 14:51Speaker 2: he's ultimately able to secure it and then going for
- 14:54Speaker 2: the win for the two point conversion, he hits tight
- 14:57Speaker 2: end Stone Smart in the front middle of the end
- 14:59Speaker 2: zone with Chance Campbell and coverage. So there was a
- 15:02Speaker 2: lot of situational based drills and high leverage situations. But
- 15:07Speaker 2: I think for the offense as a whole, they got
- 15:09Speaker 2: a lot of good completions. They facilitated the football to
- 15:12Speaker 2: a lot of different receivers. It looks like it was
- 15:15Speaker 2: a pretty strong day for Jalen Hurts and Andy Dalton,
- 15:19Speaker 2: and particularly for Jalen that's what you want to see.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Those are tangible things you can build on moving forward.
- 15:26Speaker 2: It's going to ramp up a little bit in terms
- 15:28Speaker 2: of intensity. Once you get on the practice field, the
- 15:30Speaker 2: pad start popping, and this is going to be a
- 15:32Speaker 2: really big week for Eagles. Practice five practices this week,
- 15:36Speaker 2: you got the injury report, everything else up to date,
- 15:39Speaker 2: that's off the top of my mind, the most notable
- 15:42Speaker 2: things that happened on Day four of Eagles training camp. Again,
- 15:45Speaker 2: we will keep an eye on Makay Lemon, who didn't
- 15:49Speaker 2: appear to be out there at all during team drills,
- 15:52Speaker 2: but though he was there for individuals and every other
- 15:54Speaker 2: injury that I mentioned. I will be updating you on
- 15:58Speaker 2: that as well tomorrow morning. But for now, that's going
- 16:01Speaker 2: to do it for this episode. Up to check O Daly,
- 16:04Speaker 2: I'm Andrew to Checko, and I'll catch you all on
- 16:07Speaker 2: the next one.
