- 0:35Speaker 1: us all about a very first marathon in London last April.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Plus if we get the time of lots more sporty
- 0:48Speaker 1: snippets to tell you.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Now.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I always try and start my show with an anthem
- 0:57Speaker 1: of belter of a song, and today is kind of
- 0:59Speaker 1: a happy sad song. News was released today of the
- 1:07Speaker 1: passing of Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler. Bonnie was seventy five
- 1:11Speaker 1: and passed away unexpectedly after an illness. Bonnie will be
- 1:15Speaker 1: remembered for having a distinctive, husky, gravelly voice. So let's
- 1:20Speaker 1: start the show with one of her classic tracks. Sit
- 1:23Speaker 1: back and enjoy holding out for a hero from Bonnie Tyler.
- 1:52Speaker 1: So Bonnie Tyler their sad news. If you haven't heard
- 1:54Speaker 1: that yesterday she passed away, I mean some of the
- 1:59Speaker 1: songs that she really powerful and like I said that
- 2:02Speaker 1: distinctive husky voice. It's a big, big loss. Okay, moving
- 2:06Speaker 1: on now, So we are joined in the studio today
- 2:09Speaker 1: by by Lois Lois Bennett. How are you come? Right in?
- 2:13Speaker 1: Lowis the same?
- 2:14Speaker 2: I'd thank you.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Good, excellent. So now I'm glad I tracked you down
- 2:19Speaker 1: because the idea of pre London Marathon was to find
- 2:25Speaker 1: run of four runners. We found who'd never run a
- 2:28Speaker 1: marathon before. We're running for charity, and the very first
- 2:33Speaker 1: run was London and you ticked all the boxes way
- 2:36Speaker 1: back in April. So first of all, tell us a
- 2:40Speaker 1: little bit about the charity that you was running for
- 2:42Speaker 1: and why he was running for it.
- 2:45Speaker 2: So I've ran for Shine, which is a charity that
- 2:48Speaker 2: supports people with hydro capis and spina bifida. Yep, and
- 2:54Speaker 2: that was because my two youngest were born with hydro capalists.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Right, okay. And so had you tried to enter the
- 3:01Speaker 1: marathon before? Yes, you did? No luck? No, no, right?
- 3:06Speaker 1: So did you try the charity route before or did
- 3:09Speaker 1: you just say no, that's it?
- 3:10Speaker 2: Yeah? The previous year I tried with Shine as well,
- 3:14Speaker 2: but was unsuccessful because they only they only have a
- 3:17Speaker 2: limited number of spaces themselves.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, so straight away he was back on the
- 3:21Speaker 1: case this year, was you Yeah? Yeah, right, okay, so
- 3:24Speaker 1: you get the email through the door and you think
- 3:27Speaker 1: this is reality. Now, this is oh have I done
- 3:29Speaker 1: the right thing? But it's so, I mean, you've you've
- 3:34Speaker 1: completed it. I know so well, we won't go back
- 3:36Speaker 1: too much pre London Marathon. But did you find it
- 3:40Speaker 1: something than you expected? The training and the commitment with
- 3:42Speaker 1: a young family.
- 3:44Speaker 2: At the time. No, but I look back now and
- 3:46Speaker 2: I think I don't know how I fitted it. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:49Speaker 2: I don't know how I managed to do it.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's right. Yeah, okay, so let's let's move on.
- 3:55Speaker 1: So it's the weekend of the marathon. Did you go
- 3:58Speaker 1: up the night before?
- 3:59Speaker 2: Yes?
- 4:00Speaker 1: Yeah, did you?
- 4:00Speaker 2: What?
- 4:00Speaker 1: Did you on your own? Or was your family?
- 4:02Speaker 2: I went with my husband, my eldest son, and my
- 4:05Speaker 2: mum and dad come up as well.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Okay, And where'd you stay? Close by?
- 4:08Speaker 2: Just in a premiere in by by Excel?
- 4:11Speaker 1: Actually, how did you?
- 4:12Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 4:12Speaker 1: All right, by Excel. So that's the point. Did you
- 4:15Speaker 1: get your number previously or the same weekend?
- 4:18Speaker 2: I got my number before because I didn't realize how
- 4:21Speaker 2: close the hotel was otherwise I could have saved myself
- 4:24Speaker 2: a trip.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Yeah, well these things are you Yeah, that's right. So
- 4:29Speaker 1: you got your number and I mean did you did
- 4:31Speaker 1: you go out for a meal the night before or
- 4:33Speaker 1: did you just kind of tuck away and.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Just I actually got dragged to the pub because it
- 4:39Speaker 2: was the Arsenal Newcastle game.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Right, you got track the Arsenal support.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Then it's my family. It's my family, my family or Arsenal. Yeah.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Yeah, So was that good that?
- 4:52Speaker 2: You know?
- 4:52Speaker 1: Did it kind of take your mind off it because
- 4:54Speaker 1: it can be you know, the nerves might be jingling
- 4:57Speaker 1: about now, you know the night before.
- 4:59Speaker 2: It was good. Actually it was good. And there were
- 5:01Speaker 2: other people in there in the same position. Yeah, they
- 5:04Speaker 2: wanted to watch the football and they were running the
- 5:05Speaker 2: next day.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Right, yeah, so that's good. So I mean did you
- 5:09Speaker 1: sleep that night?
- 5:11Speaker 2: Yes?
- 5:12Speaker 1: You did? Yeah, Oh that's good. Yeah, because I did
- 5:16Speaker 1: the London marathons. Stayed up over there. But I don't
- 5:19Speaker 1: know it was a good thing to stay or not.
- 5:21Speaker 1: It was like you're worrying so much, whereas the night
- 5:24Speaker 1: before you sort of worry and starts if you get
- 5:26Speaker 1: in the train at Folks in Central. You know, the
- 5:28Speaker 1: trains on time. Okay, so right, so you say goodbye
- 5:32Speaker 1: to your family, but when they left you you went
- 5:38Speaker 1: and found your zone and did the stuff and did
- 5:41Speaker 1: you how did you feel then? Did you feel a
- 5:43Speaker 1: little bit isolated?
- 5:45Speaker 2: I didn't. Actually, I had seen a girl at the
- 5:49Speaker 2: hotel the night before. She was sat next to us
- 5:52Speaker 2: at dinner, and I found her on my way to
- 5:55Speaker 2: the start, and I hadn't realized and she was running
- 5:57Speaker 2: for the same charity. Really, yeah, we sort of made
- 6:01Speaker 2: friends and were talking about our kids and stuff like that,
- 6:05Speaker 2: and her waive was just after mine. Yeah, and I
- 6:08Speaker 2: had friends that were running as well, so I met
- 6:10Speaker 2: up with them and it didn't feel it didn't feel
- 6:12Speaker 2: too daunted.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Oh no, that's good. Yeah, not so lonely then. And yeah,
- 6:17Speaker 1: I can imagine, because I mean, if someone's done all
- 6:19Speaker 1: that training and all of a suddenly they dumped one
- 6:21Speaker 1: person amongst thousands of thousands, it's a lot of people
- 6:25Speaker 1: around you, but you don't know anyone, whereas you had
- 6:27Speaker 1: a little sort of cushion there. Yeah, oh great. Did
- 6:30Speaker 1: you jump zones and run together or did you sort
- 6:33Speaker 1: of just say goodbye? And no, no, used to nipping
- 6:36Speaker 1: to the wrong zone.
- 6:37Speaker 2: You know, Yeah, no, I stayed in yeah.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Right, okay, So so you set off, did you feel
- 6:46Speaker 1: that the pace, because there's so many people, was too
- 6:49Speaker 1: fast or too slow or did you look for one
- 6:50Speaker 1: of those guys with the flag of the pacers.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I couldn't find a pacer, no at all, well not
- 6:56Speaker 2: for not anyone in my zone anyway. If I did
- 7:00Speaker 2: catch up before and I'd look and I'd be like, oh,
- 7:01Speaker 2: they're from the red zone.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, Well we were speaking about this when
- 7:05Speaker 1: the others came in the two course. When when the
- 7:07Speaker 1: when the zones join, you can see a pacer, let's say,
- 7:12Speaker 1: for four hours, and then behind him was a pacer
- 7:14Speaker 1: for four hours thirty minutes. That you think, how can
- 7:17Speaker 1: you lose off on air? But of course they've all
- 7:18Speaker 1: set off for different times. Yeah right, So, so so
- 7:23Speaker 1: starting off, was it a good slow pace? Was it,
- 7:25Speaker 1: you know, comfortable or did you get carried away?
- 7:28Speaker 2: No? I didn't go off too fast at all, pretty
- 7:32Speaker 2: much exactly as I was supposed to.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yeaheah, okay, so now I was at a cutty sark.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Unfortunately I didn't see any of you four. But what
- 7:41Speaker 1: was that like going around at the Cutty Sark. That
- 7:43Speaker 1: must have been because people float around there. It was
- 7:47Speaker 1: that a good, good, uplifting feeling.
- 7:49Speaker 2: It was, Yeah, because it's the first sort of the
- 7:52Speaker 2: first sort of monument.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Yeah you get it.
- 7:54Speaker 2: It's the first big thing that you see and it's
- 7:57Speaker 2: so busy and that you just think, oh wow, like
- 7:59Speaker 2: I'm actually doing it.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, I mean, I know it was your
- 8:03Speaker 1: first marathon and it was London, but we've been up
- 8:08Speaker 1: on the coach with a lot of folks to running
- 8:10Speaker 1: club and coming back on the coach. There was some
- 8:12Speaker 1: experienced runners that said the noise was so noisy. Did
- 8:17Speaker 1: you find that or because it was your first one,
- 8:19Speaker 1: you just thought it was like that all the time.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I did. I did think it was quite loud.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, because a lot of experience runners were just
- 8:27Speaker 1: kind of dying to get to a quiet part because
- 8:29Speaker 1: it was so overpowering. Yeah. So to Cutty Sark, you
- 8:34Speaker 1: passed that and you're into sort of ten miles still
- 8:38Speaker 1: feeling comfortable. Yeah yeah, okay, so you hit halfway. How
- 8:44Speaker 1: was that?
- 8:45Speaker 2: I lost it a little bit? You Yeah, in what respect,
- 8:49Speaker 2: I just got like really emotional. My big thing was
- 8:52Speaker 2: like running over London Bridge, and basically I'd forgotten to
- 8:57Speaker 2: eat in the morning, I'd forgot to eat before I
- 9:00Speaker 2: had left, So I was just running on jails and
- 9:05Speaker 2: I got to halfway, and because I'm used to running
- 9:08Speaker 2: half marathons, I was like, oh, I've got to do
- 9:13Speaker 2: that again.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 9:15Speaker 2: It like mentally, if you get to, say twelve miles,
- 9:19Speaker 2: when you're doing a half marathon, you think, well, I
- 9:21Speaker 2: can put my foot down now and just get to
- 9:23Speaker 2: the end. You can't. You've still got another miles to go.
- 9:27Speaker 1: You're only halfway. Yeah, I mean, what was the furthest
- 9:29Speaker 1: You run further than that though when you was training, didn't.
- 9:31Speaker 2: You twenty miles?
- 9:33Speaker 1: Twenty?
- 9:33Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 9:33Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. And it's funny. I mean that shouldn't have
- 9:36Speaker 1: bothered you, really, because you should have gone to twenty
- 9:39Speaker 1: and then thought, oh my world, I got six lefts
- 9:41Speaker 1: what you're going to do? But it's funny it hit
- 9:42Speaker 1: your halfway.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:43Speaker 1: It's a focal point, you know, because halfway is psychological
- 9:47Speaker 1: a battle, you know. I mean, I know this is different,
- 9:50Speaker 1: and I've said this several times on air. After I
- 9:55Speaker 1: finished running, I did a walk. I walked from London
- 9:58Speaker 1: to Brighton. Oh yeah, six two miles yep, and I
- 10:02Speaker 1: trained hard, really trained, and I remember I got to
- 10:05Speaker 1: the halfway point and I went into these great big
- 10:08Speaker 1: Marquees feed stations. I went in in the daylight and
- 10:12Speaker 1: sort it all my feet out and you know, I
- 10:15Speaker 1: felt okay, and I come out and it was pitch black,
- 10:18Speaker 1: and I've thought, on my word, I've got another thirty
- 10:21Speaker 1: miles to go. And that really shook me. It really did.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I had to really talk myself into like turning it
- 10:28Speaker 1: around in my head. You've done this, you can do this,
- 10:30Speaker 1: you know, but the halfway point can be a real
- 10:33Speaker 1: milestone if you like it right. So we've reached halfway.
- 10:36Speaker 1: What we're going to do now is play a bit
- 10:38Speaker 1: of music. So now I've been looking, well, things have
- 10:43Speaker 1: just been popping up on social media this week and
- 10:46Speaker 1: I found out we've had a lot of celebrity birthdays,
- 10:50Speaker 1: and so I'm going to play some songs of these celebrities.
- 10:53Speaker 1: And this one I absolutely love this song. This is
- 10:57Speaker 1: Huey Lewis and it's a song called the Power of Love. Now,
- 11:00Speaker 1: not everybody likes this song, but I just remember watching
- 11:04Speaker 1: the very very first Back to the Future film and
- 11:09Speaker 1: it was totally amazed had the concept where he went
- 11:12Speaker 1: back in time and I absolutely love this song. So
- 11:16Speaker 1: sit back and enjoy Huey Lewis and the News and
- 11:18Speaker 1: the Power of Love. The Power of Love There Huey
- 11:37Speaker 1: Lewis and the News nineteen eighty five, Back to the Future.
- 11:40Speaker 1: I just can picture Marti on his hoverboard trying to
- 11:44Speaker 1: get away from what was his name now, h It'll
- 11:47Speaker 1: come to me in a minute. On that film, And
- 11:50Speaker 1: then when they did the second film, I watched it,
- 11:52Speaker 1: I thought, oh, such a clever concept, you know, and
- 11:56Speaker 1: I really really enjoyed it. Right, So, we're halfway from
- 12:00Speaker 1: a marathon. I'm absolutely worn out talking about this. I've
- 12:03Speaker 1: done thirteen miles this morning, so so low. It's we're
- 12:06Speaker 1: at halfway point. You're going through a bad spell. Did
- 12:09Speaker 1: you snap out of it or did it kind of
- 12:11Speaker 1: stay with you for that the next thirteen miles?
- 12:15Speaker 2: I did snap out of it, yeah, until about seventeen miles.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Thirteen four miles? Yeah, yeah yeah. And was it a
- 12:24Speaker 1: physical thing or a mental thing? I mean, because it
- 12:30Speaker 1: affected you, you knew there was whole Did it affect
- 12:32Speaker 1: your running as well?
- 12:34Speaker 2: No? I don't think so.
- 12:36Speaker 1: No, it's just up in your head, was it?
- 12:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I just I found it very busy. Yeah, obviously
- 12:41Speaker 2: where I'm quite sure. I was getting sort of elbows
- 12:45Speaker 2: in the top of my shoulders and you know, push it.
- 12:48Speaker 2: There was a lot of pushing. I mean I felt
- 12:50Speaker 2: like I'd been run over.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Next day, oh dear. So you get to seventeen and
- 12:58Speaker 1: you started to come out of it a bit. Was
- 13:01Speaker 1: you then kind of wanting it to be over or
- 13:03Speaker 1: just started to enjoy it again?
- 13:04Speaker 2: So I sort of snapped out of it quite quickly
- 13:08Speaker 2: at halfway. Yeah, got to mile seventeen and I had
- 13:12Speaker 2: a blister like exploded, you know, like Elish mcculgan. Yeah,
- 13:17Speaker 2: oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it was like that.
- 13:20Speaker 2: So I wrung my husband and I was like, I
- 13:22Speaker 2: need you to get me a plaster. But I had
- 13:25Speaker 2: to stop and sort of strap.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:28Speaker 2: In hindsight, I wish I hadn't stopped now.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Because I hard to get it going again.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. You know it's funny because Phiel that came in. Yeah,
- 13:38Speaker 1: he came in the day that you didn't. He lost
- 13:40Speaker 1: a couple of toenails. Yeah, yeah, and so funny. I mean,
- 13:45Speaker 1: you you've got twenty miles and no doubt you're wearing
- 13:49Speaker 1: you know, not brand new shoes, but you still get
- 13:52Speaker 1: foot problems. It's just because it was a red update though,
- 13:56Speaker 1: wasn't it. It was? Yeah? Right, So did arrive with
- 14:00Speaker 1: the plaster or did because sorry to interrupt, where I
- 14:05Speaker 1: was at the seventeen or actually the seventeen more mark.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Just as you go up the hill, there was a
- 14:09Speaker 1: train station on the left, and there were a couple
- 14:11Speaker 1: of like roaming like St. John Samblin's cadets, just saying
- 14:16Speaker 1: to people, yeah, and they were had hands of vesseline,
- 14:19Speaker 1: you know, had the hand out that the big dub
- 14:22Speaker 1: a vesseline and so did you get it salty? You
- 14:26Speaker 1: did it yourself for Yeah.
- 14:27Speaker 2: So he didn't get me a plaster, but he did
- 14:29Speaker 2: find me a Saint John's samblance.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Oh did it?
- 14:31Speaker 2: Yeah? And they said do you do you just want
- 14:34Speaker 2: a plaster? And I was like, yeah, just let me
- 14:36Speaker 2: strap myself up and I'll be on my way. Yeah. Yeah.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Where was it on your toe? Did you say?
- 14:42Speaker 2: Yeah? It was like in between.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah yeah uncomfortable yeah yeah yeah yeah. I
- 14:51Speaker 1: just think you probably did the right thing to stop,
- 14:53Speaker 1: because you know, you might have who knows you might
- 14:56Speaker 1: have got worse and put you out the race altogether.
- 14:58Speaker 1: But it is a job getting going again, isn't it. Yeah,
- 15:01Speaker 1: so what happened then seventeen you got plaster.
- 15:04Speaker 2: That so I've got a plaster at eighteen. Seventeen to
- 15:07Speaker 2: eighteen was a bit of a hobble and then yeah,
- 15:10Speaker 2: from eighteen I sort of carried on. It was a
- 15:13Speaker 2: bit more of a run and a walk and it
- 15:18Speaker 2: is really loud and obviously like your supporters and stuff
- 15:21Speaker 2: that have come to see you are.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Calling you yeah.
- 15:23Speaker 2: And at that point I didn't know if it was
- 15:26Speaker 2: someone that I knew or just you know, a random
- 15:28Speaker 2: because you got.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Your name on the T shirt and everyonere going go yeah.
- 15:31Speaker 1: And when your mum or your dad go go on
- 15:33Speaker 1: Lois you know you think I missed them?
- 15:35Speaker 2: Yeah? Did you see them? I missed a few people.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Actually I did see my mum and dad on London
- 15:44Speaker 2: Bridge and then they were a long embankment, but I
- 15:49Speaker 2: missed them. Well.
- 15:49Speaker 1: The embankment is probably the worst part ever, you know,
- 15:53Speaker 1: having run it, because you go through that tunnel before it,
- 15:55Speaker 1: don't you, Yeah, And all of a sudden it goes
- 15:57Speaker 1: quiet and then you come out Well, noise and people
- 16:02Speaker 1: are fighting. From a spectator's point of view, people are
- 16:05Speaker 1: fighting to get right up the front on the embankment,
- 16:09Speaker 1: and as soon as the runner goes by it and
- 16:11Speaker 1: the spectator disappears, about ten people try and get into
- 16:14Speaker 1: one spot. Yeah. Okay, So we've got past the embankment
- 16:21Speaker 1: and we've got up to a big Ben and you
- 16:24Speaker 1: must be thinking it's not far to go now, So
- 16:26Speaker 1: what was the last little bit, Like did you kind
- 16:28Speaker 1: of put all those troubles behind you and just think,
- 16:32Speaker 1: let's make the most of them.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah it. I think that was probably the
- 16:37Speaker 2: best moment of the whole day, even though I was
- 16:40Speaker 2: so excited to run across Tower Bridge. I got to
- 16:44Speaker 2: Big Ben and I was stood there supporting the year
- 16:46Speaker 2: before and I thought, oh my god, it it's me now.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, and yeah, I just put my foot down
- 16:52Speaker 2: and I just went for it.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Yeah, brilliant. And so you crossed the line. And the
- 17:01Speaker 1: difficult one that did you feel when you actually crossed
- 17:03Speaker 1: the line? Put your arms up for the picture. So
- 17:07Speaker 1: did you think, oh my word, I've done a marathon
- 17:11Speaker 1: it was weird, or couldn't you get your address?
- 17:13Speaker 2: Yeah? It was so weird, Like even now I think
- 17:16Speaker 2: I don't know, it still doesn't really feel. Yeah, it
- 17:21Speaker 2: was amazing. And the man that was like handing out
- 17:23Speaker 2: the medals and stuff. I think I was like recording
- 17:27Speaker 2: myself getting my medal and I think he said something like,
- 17:31Speaker 2: is this your first marathon? And I said no, and
- 17:34Speaker 2: he said, oh, well, you look very like chilled or something,
- 17:38Speaker 2: and he was like, you'll do another one. And I
- 17:40Speaker 2: was like, yeah, right.
- 17:42Speaker 1: It was hysterical. Yeah, oh right, Okay, so the euphoria
- 17:50Speaker 1: kicks in at last, and you start believing in yourself
- 17:54Speaker 1: and what we'll just run me through web next, meeting
- 17:56Speaker 1: your family and that sort of thing.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Yep, I saw. I met all of my family at
- 18:01Speaker 2: the meeting point. We went off to find the charity
- 18:07Speaker 2: meet up afterwards, had a shower and a massage, and
- 18:12Speaker 2: then I can't remember, actually I can't remember what we
- 18:17Speaker 2: did after that. We made our way back to the hotel. Yeah,
- 18:21Speaker 2: and I didn't eat. Actually, I just couldn't really find
- 18:24Speaker 2: anywhere to get something half decent, so we ended up
- 18:28Speaker 2: getting food on the way home.
- 18:30Speaker 1: So that's a good point. Actually, so you stayed the
- 18:33Speaker 1: night before did the hotel allow you? Because you must
- 18:37Speaker 1: have been kind of past the checking out time. They
- 18:41Speaker 1: let you come back again, did they?
- 18:43Speaker 2: They let us leave the car for the day. That
- 18:46Speaker 2: was fine. I think they would have held our luggage
- 18:49Speaker 2: as well, but we just put it in the car.
- 18:51Speaker 1: I see. Yeah, so you went back to the Hill
- 18:54Speaker 1: hotel and that was it. Then was it on the
- 18:55Speaker 1: way home?
- 18:56Speaker 2: Yeah? And then my dad drove us home.
- 19:00Speaker 1: You awake on the way home? Would you fall asleep
- 19:01Speaker 1: through home?
- 19:02Speaker 2: I was awake, yeah, And to be honest, I didn't
- 19:05Speaker 2: really sleep very well for the next.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Two or three night really.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Yeah. My legs were aching so much that every time
- 19:12Speaker 2: I wanted to move, I wake myself up.
- 19:16Speaker 1: And what better stairs? You have trouble with steels?
- 19:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, you have to go down backwards.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, it's all part and parcel of the marathon.
- 19:23Speaker 1: It goes with the territory. I can remember seeing all
- 19:27Speaker 1: the people were trying to get on the train and
- 19:28Speaker 1: charing Cross after the marathon. Then such a job to
- 19:31Speaker 1: get on the train. So generally, obviously the recovery because
- 19:38Speaker 1: of the you know, the effort that's gone into it.
- 19:40Speaker 1: But did you have any issues recovering or is it
- 19:42Speaker 1: just a natural progression. You slowly got better and that
- 19:45Speaker 1: was it, you know, long term effects and your toe
- 19:49Speaker 1: got better, did it?
- 19:51Speaker 2: Yes?
- 19:51Speaker 1: Yeah, right, well I will say that I had a
- 19:58Speaker 1: pleasant surprise and I know you're still because I was
- 20:02Speaker 1: at charing after how long? How long was that after?
- 20:06Speaker 1: About a month after? Was it probably five or six weeks?
- 20:09Speaker 2: Yeah? Maybe about six weeks?
- 20:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, So I was at chairing and I was
- 20:15Speaker 1: just going to the start and do my bit at
- 20:17Speaker 1: the start, and I saw this lady get out of
- 20:19Speaker 1: the car and thought, hang old I know that lady. Yeah,
- 20:21Speaker 1: it was you, wasn't it.
- 20:22Speaker 2: It was, Yeah, a.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Lovely pleasant surprise, it was. It was a lovely Friday
- 20:25Speaker 1: evening with the Ashfra Striders and so you did that.
- 20:30Speaker 1: But what we're going to do, we're going to play
- 20:31Speaker 1: a bit of music and then we're going to just
- 20:33Speaker 1: have a little chat about that because it's like your
- 20:36Speaker 1: first run back after the marathon, so we want to
- 20:38Speaker 1: find out if there was any any long term effects. Right.
- 20:42Speaker 1: So the next song is now I've got another birthday. Now,
- 20:46Speaker 1: this is amazing. I find this absolutely amazing that Sylvester
- 20:50Speaker 1: still own is eighty. Last week, Rookie, it was eighty.
- 20:54Speaker 1: I mean, those early Rockie films were amazing. Once again,
- 20:58Speaker 1: that captured the imagination of fight fans, sports fans, the underdog.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Everybody loves the underdog, you know. And so this this
- 21:06Speaker 1: song was just made the film as well. This is
- 21:10Speaker 1: Rocky's orchestra, and it's called Gonna Fly Now. So Rockies
- 21:41Speaker 1: theme they call it, but it's actually called Gonna Fly Now.
- 21:48Speaker 1: So I've been looking during the week at some of
- 21:50Speaker 1: the videos for these respective stars, and I must say
- 21:56Speaker 1: that this is iconic where he runs up steps at
- 22:01Speaker 1: the end and jumps up and down and kind of
- 22:04Speaker 1: puts his hands up. No one around. But those steps
- 22:08Speaker 1: have now turned into a tour of popular tourist attraction.
- 22:12Speaker 1: It's seventy two stone stairs and it's set at the
- 22:16Speaker 1: Philadelphia Museum of Art. And if you're a runner, or
- 22:20Speaker 1: a sportsman or bo any sport atol, if you go
- 22:23Speaker 1: to Philadelphia, it's on the hit list. You have got
- 22:25Speaker 1: to run up those steps, then jump up and down
- 22:28Speaker 1: with your arms up in the air, and someone's got
- 22:29Speaker 1: to take a picture of you. Okay, so we're aggressing
- 22:32Speaker 1: a bit. So we've got our last little chat with
- 22:34Speaker 1: Lois now, so lois, where do we get to we've
- 22:37Speaker 1: come back, you've recovered. Oh yeah, was there any long
- 22:40Speaker 1: lasting effects from the marathon? No? No, no really? And
- 22:45Speaker 1: so you've been running since seven't year?
- 22:47Speaker 2: Yeap?
- 22:50Speaker 1: So we saw you at Charring, didn't we? And so
- 22:54Speaker 1: your first run back and Charring is a bit of
- 22:57Speaker 1: well it's they say these courses like undulating. Yeah, but
- 23:03Speaker 1: you know they're lying, don't yet. Yeah, undulating means really hilly.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:07Speaker 1: So tell us about chairing and how your legs felt
- 23:09Speaker 1: on that first What was it? It was a ten k,
- 23:12Speaker 1: wasn't it? How your legs felt once you know you
- 23:15Speaker 1: got going in a race situation. You might have had
- 23:17Speaker 1: a few jokes since the marathon, but but when you
- 23:20Speaker 1: were in a kind of on the start line at
- 23:22Speaker 1: a race, it's a little bit different. So just tell
- 23:24Speaker 1: us how that was.
- 23:26Speaker 2: I went in completely different this time. Normally when I
- 23:30Speaker 2: enter a race, I want to get a PB or something.
- 23:35Speaker 2: But I think every race I've done there's been like
- 23:39Speaker 2: a pressure and I didn't didn't want that really, so
- 23:43Speaker 2: I was like, well, I'm just going to go for
- 23:45Speaker 2: a child run. I don't care what time it is.
- 23:49Speaker 2: We did get a little bit carried away at the
- 23:51Speaker 2: start and then I got cramp. That wasn't you know?
- 23:57Speaker 1: Was it on the agenda?
- 23:58Speaker 2: But I finished, So I did it in an hour
- 24:01Speaker 2: and two minutes, I think. Yeah, So I was pleased
- 24:04Speaker 2: with that. Yeah, going out for a jolly.
- 24:07Speaker 1: So did your legs feel heavy? Did you still have
- 24:10Speaker 1: like the marathon? And it's quite a few weeks later,
- 24:12Speaker 1: but so no, it was yeah, yeah, yeah, great. And
- 24:17Speaker 1: it was nice to see that one of your your
- 24:19Speaker 1: boys was running what was his name?
- 24:21Speaker 2: Teddy?
- 24:21Speaker 1: Teddy, that's right, And because it was at the charing
- 24:26Speaker 1: ten k Ash for Strider's Lovely Evening. Lovely Evening, and
- 24:31Speaker 1: there's two children's races, and I see you see you
- 24:35Speaker 1: sort of running alongside Teddy and cheering him on. He
- 24:39Speaker 1: did it, though, didn't he?
- 24:39Speaker 2: He did it?
- 24:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it was each I've got a medal, each, first
- 24:43Speaker 1: medal yeah yeah yeah.
- 24:44Speaker 2: And he wore it for about three days yeah yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Yeah, a couple of times. Yeah. I remember running over
- 24:52Speaker 1: to you say, what's his name? What's his name? Again?
- 24:54Speaker 1: I don't know if he did he he did? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 24:57Speaker 1: yeah great. So the future running wise, big question. There's
- 25:01Speaker 1: a ballot coming up this weekend. Have you put in
- 25:03Speaker 1: for London again?
- 25:05Speaker 2: No, I'm not allowed.
- 25:06Speaker 1: No last time one run and that's it.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it definitely won't be one. But I'm just
- 25:14Speaker 2: not allowed to do London next.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Year, right, I mean the time is right. You've still
- 25:19Speaker 1: got youth on your side and so you've got plenty
- 25:25Speaker 1: of time. But I mean behind behind the scenes, you've
- 25:30Speaker 1: done the marathon, you've done all the training and the
- 25:32Speaker 1: rest of it. But there's a team behind you, isn't there? Family?
- 25:36Speaker 1: And were they were they great? Or do? Were they
- 25:41Speaker 1: just that whle mummies off running again.
- 25:47Speaker 2: I think my oldest understands it, and he's like quite proud.
- 25:52Speaker 2: He come up on the day as well, and I
- 25:53Speaker 2: think I'm pretty sure he went to school the next
- 25:55Speaker 2: day and said to everybody, I went to London yesterday
- 25:58Speaker 2: and my mom ran the marathon.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Great.
- 26:01Speaker 2: The younger two not really phased. Usually, if my middle
- 26:05Speaker 2: one doesn't want me to put him to bed and
- 26:07Speaker 2: he wants daddy and says he tells he tells me
- 26:09Speaker 2: to go for a run. They'll say, Mummy, go for
- 26:11Speaker 2: a run, and I'll say I've already been for one
- 26:13Speaker 2: today and he's like, go for another. One that I
- 26:15Speaker 2: don't want you.
- 26:18Speaker 1: So it's starting to affect the whole family, was it. Yeah?
- 26:20Speaker 1: And your husband he must be a star, very patient man.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yeah he is, he is. He has reminded me that
- 26:28Speaker 2: he has missed out and planning a lot of golf.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Oh right, yeah, always paid back time. Is it okay?
- 26:36Speaker 1: But I mean you telling me your fear actually that
- 26:39Speaker 1: you're a member of ash Ford and you've been doing
- 26:41Speaker 1: the relays. He's they called coastal coastal relays? Is it
- 26:48Speaker 1: coastal relays? Well, Coastal relays have been going many many
- 26:52Speaker 1: years and I remember doing the rounds and the relays
- 26:55Speaker 1: always make you run faster, don't they? And how did
- 26:58Speaker 1: you find them?
- 27:01Speaker 2: It's the first time I've ever done them. And the
- 27:05Speaker 2: first one that I did was at Minis Bay and
- 27:09Speaker 2: I went, how I went out way too fast? Yeah,
- 27:13Speaker 2: and the race the relays before we're out folksing and
- 27:19Speaker 2: my coach said, no, it's too close to the marathon.
- 27:21Speaker 2: You can't you can't do it, but come down and watch,
- 27:24Speaker 2: come down and see what it's about. And one of
- 27:28Speaker 2: the boys on our team was being sick and I
- 27:31Speaker 2: was like, how could you get it? So wrong, it's
- 27:34Speaker 2: only two miles. Well, when I finished Minis Bay, I
- 27:37Speaker 2: was bent over and I was like, I think I'm
- 27:39Speaker 2: going to be sick. Yeah yeah yeah, And I was
- 27:41Speaker 2: like completely take that back now now I've experienced it,
- 27:44Speaker 2: because you just you go out too hard.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Yeah, you do, you get caught up. Yeah. Every runner
- 27:49Speaker 1: I know it's gone to their first relay. They think,
- 27:54Speaker 1: oh it's only two miles, but it's the hardest two miles.
- 27:57Speaker 2: It's like a two mile sprint.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, oh great. At least you've got
- 28:02Speaker 1: you got round them anyway, that's great. So I started
- 28:06Speaker 1: thinking it's time for any time to go. But is
- 28:10Speaker 1: there any other anybody else? You want to thank any
- 28:13Speaker 1: hellos as anybody might be listening or going to listen
- 28:15Speaker 1: to the podcast.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Thank you to my husband for referee and the kids
- 28:21Speaker 2: while I'm out. Also massive thank you to my coach.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Karen Quinn okay and Quinneah.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Yeah, she was amazing, she still is. Yeah. Yeah, And
- 28:34Speaker 2: just thank you to all of my friends and family,
- 28:37Speaker 2: mum and dad, everyone else who came up and sort
- 28:40Speaker 2: of supported everybody that donated.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Yeah, oh that's good. Yeah, because you're just going to
- 28:45Speaker 1: touch on this now, you had a just giving page.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Just tell us about that. What was the target.
- 28:50Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure that the target was two two hundred
- 28:54Speaker 2: or two thousand, three hundred.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you managed.
- 28:57Speaker 2: We managed to do just over two thousand, six hundred.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Oh that's great. Yeah.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:03Speaker 1: And that's the other thing. If you do decide to
- 29:04Speaker 1: do another charity one, there's the pressure on it to
- 29:06Speaker 1: get to find the money. It'll probably go up even
- 29:08Speaker 1: more next year.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Well, I'm so pleased I've got you back. I wanted
- 29:14Speaker 1: to hear the story because if we did the other three.
- 29:16Speaker 1: I know you're very busy lady with three children and
- 29:19Speaker 1: working and the rest of it. But I'm so glad.
- 29:21Speaker 1: It's taken a few weeks to get you here. But
- 29:23Speaker 1: I'm really really pleased that we caught up, and I
- 29:26Speaker 1: just wanted to hear your story. And it's been a
- 29:29Speaker 1: great one, great journey. You've done a fantastic thing for yourself.
- 29:32Speaker 1: You've done your first marathon. I'm sure you've got another
- 29:34Speaker 1: marathon in You might be older, when the children are
- 29:37Speaker 1: a bit older and could look after themselves a bit,
- 29:40Speaker 1: and your husband's out playing golf every night. But thanks
- 29:46Speaker 1: for coming in It's been a great journey. Thank you,
- 29:48Speaker 1: thank you. Right there we go. That was lowis there
- 29:50Speaker 1: telling us our story about the London Marathon. What a
- 29:53Speaker 1: great story it was so celebrity birthdays. Moving on, we've
- 29:56Speaker 1: got Debbie Harry. Now Debbie Harry, remember what group she
- 29:59Speaker 1: was with? Cool? She do well? She was eighty one
- 30:03Speaker 1: during the week and she's still hanging on the telephone.
- 30:12Speaker 2: I'm in the bumble that.
- 30:13Speaker 1: The water bottle hall.
- 30:15Speaker 2: If you don't have to rob this, bring it on
- 30:17Speaker 2: the wall.
- 30:19Speaker 1: I know he's there, but I decided to go to other.
- 30:36Speaker 2: I mother not going out the door.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Did you go to work and go to the store?
- 30:43Speaker 1: All these things? She said? I told her to ignore.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Oh lucky, we talk again. Oh look it we talk again.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Oh I can't we talk again?
- 31:08Speaker 2: Do you you much know it's done over? If I
- 31:11Speaker 2: don't get your coup supper?
- 31:14Speaker 1: I'm to tell you.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Stuck, you know on all.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I had to read her up the Scott Stop a section.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to cross them like a story section.
- 31:45Speaker 1: I'd like to stuck when I.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Can show you my faction.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Oh I can't control myself. Oh I can't control myself.
- 31:55Speaker 2: I can control myself.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Oh sorry about that. There was a little little gap
- 32:32Speaker 1: there would just saying goodbye to Lois there and I
- 32:35Speaker 1: don't know how long it's been quiet. We were chatting
- 32:37Speaker 1: about running all right, so let's move on. What time
- 32:41Speaker 1: we got left and not a lot of time. So
- 32:43Speaker 1: what I'm going to do is I'm going to get
- 32:45Speaker 1: straight onto the cricket so turn our attention to local
- 32:48Speaker 1: cricket scene. And most clubs are halfway through this season,
- 32:52Speaker 1: so let's have a half time roundup, starting with Folks,
- 32:55Speaker 1: the first eleven who play in the Championship of the
- 32:58Speaker 1: Kent Cricket League Cricket League, that's the second tier. Last Saturday,
- 33:02Speaker 1: they traveled away to Dartford. Dafford won the toss chose
- 33:06Speaker 1: to bats, scoring two hundred and eleven for nine in
- 33:08Speaker 1: their fifty overs. Folkston then saw a captain Routa Danda
- 33:13Speaker 1: hit ninety four not out as they made two hundred
- 33:16Speaker 1: and fourteen for two in thirty two overs, winning the
- 33:19Speaker 1: game by eight wickets. Now, despite this a successful victory,
- 33:23Speaker 1: Folkston haven't had a good season so far. They're rooted
- 33:26Speaker 1: at the bottom of the table out of ten teams.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Saturday's game is a real tough one as they welcomed
- 33:32Speaker 1: top of the league at Graves End to the Three Heels,
- 33:35Speaker 1: knowing that they have half a season together to get
- 33:38Speaker 1: themselves out of trouble. In Division seven Hurrycan Section, Hawkins
- 33:44Speaker 1: traveled away to Broadstairs in a high scoring game. Broadstairs
- 33:48Speaker 1: batted first, making a massive three hundred and twenty eight
- 33:51Speaker 1: for four in a forty five overgame. Hawkins did well,
- 33:55Speaker 1: making two hundred and sixty for six, a score that
- 33:57Speaker 1: would most most Saturday would have problem. He won a
- 34:00Speaker 1: lot of games, but it wasn't enough and they lost
- 34:02Speaker 1: the game by sixty eight runs. Saturday, They're away to
- 34:05Speaker 1: Saint Margaret's Cosmopolitan, who are bottom of the table. Meanwhile,
- 34:09Speaker 1: Hawkins are a respectable fifth with nine games to go.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Also in Division seven Hurricane Section, I've welcomed Sandwich thirt
- 34:18Speaker 1: eleven to the Grove. I've matted first, making two hundred
- 34:22Speaker 1: and seventy seven for seven open a Tim Pachowski made
- 34:25Speaker 1: a magnificent one hundred and seventeen before he was caught
- 34:29Speaker 1: in bold Samwich runded well, making two hundred and forty
- 34:32Speaker 1: one for nine, but it wasn't enough. I've winning by
- 34:35Speaker 1: thirty six runs. Now this result leaves hive in third
- 34:38Speaker 1: place after nine games. Saturday's fixture is a way to
- 34:43Speaker 1: second place Raynham, who have played one game more. Iive
- 34:47Speaker 1: Green played their cricket in Division nine Shepherd Section, as
- 34:50Speaker 1: do Saltwood, and last Saturday they met in a Saltwood
- 34:53Speaker 1: home fixture at their Tanner's Hill ground. Saltwood won the
- 34:57Speaker 1: toss and put the Green into bat who made one
- 35:00Speaker 1: hundred and forty six for eight. Siltwood then scored one
- 35:03Speaker 1: hundred and fifty for three and won the match by
- 35:05Speaker 1: seven wickets. Currently, Siltwood are third and hive Green r
- 35:10Speaker 1: sixth out of nine teams. This week's fixture sees Hive
- 35:13Speaker 1: Green at home to Merseam Sports and Saltwood are at
- 35:16Speaker 1: home against Ashford Town Cricket Club eleven. They've got a friendly.
- 35:21Speaker 1: It's a friendly match. Ashford actually have got a proper
- 35:24Speaker 1: Saturday side, but they also run a league side who
- 35:28Speaker 1: just play friendly matches.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Now.
- 35:31Speaker 1: In Division five Harrycan Section, Sipton Park were at home
- 35:34Speaker 1: to Addington Village Cricket Club. The Sibs won the toss
- 35:37Speaker 1: Batti first making a two hundred and forty four for
- 35:39Speaker 1: four highest scorer was Arthur Lever with ninety eight not out.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Three Sibs bowlers then demolished Addington. Jack Woodward took five
- 35:48Speaker 1: wickets for just eighteen runs, Dan Mason took four for
- 35:52Speaker 1: forty two and Harry Road took one for seventeen. So
- 35:55Speaker 1: the Sibs won the game by one hundred and fifty
- 35:57Speaker 1: four runs, leaving them in third place. This week it's
- 36:01Speaker 1: a way to fifth place. As for Town first eleven,
- 36:05Speaker 1: So quick summing up of our local Saturday first team
- 36:07Speaker 1: sees Folks then struggling in the championship bottom of the table.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Out of ten teams in Division five Hurrycan Section, Sipton
- 36:14Speaker 1: Park a third. We have two teams in Division seven
- 36:18Speaker 1: Hurry con Section IID and Hawkins of fifth, and then
- 36:22Speaker 1: in Division nine Shepherd Section we also have two teams
- 36:25Speaker 1: Salt with a third and Hive Green are sixth. So
- 36:29Speaker 1: that's a half season gone already and most of our
- 36:32Speaker 1: time most of our teams doing well. The only bother
- 36:35Speaker 1: is Folkston really who have to try and pull themselves
- 36:37Speaker 1: out of the bottom position. Now Saturday, the weather looks good,
- 36:42Speaker 1: so it's yeah, it's started to be a nice, really
- 36:46Speaker 1: nice summer isn't it. Well, I'm going to do this
- 36:49Speaker 1: other little bit now. Now I want to tell you about.
- 36:53Speaker 1: I want to bring your attention to an event that
- 36:55Speaker 1: is happening on Saturday, the eleventh July at the South
- 36:58Speaker 1: Road Sports Field and Pervila. It's the Hive Sports and
- 37:02Speaker 1: Fitness Festival, which starts at ten o'clock and goes un
- 37:05Speaker 1: till five o'clock.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Now.
- 37:07Speaker 1: I was chatting to Peter Carroll during the week. He
- 37:10Speaker 1: is the chair of the event, and he told me
- 37:12Speaker 1: the idea is to showcase the local sports and clubs
- 37:15Speaker 1: in the area and bring them all together in one
- 37:18Speaker 1: day so people can go along, chat to the organizers
- 37:21Speaker 1: in a friendly environment and perhaps sign up. I mean
- 37:25Speaker 1: sometimes when you're keen to try a new sport, you know,
- 37:27Speaker 1: they say, oh, come along on a Tuesday night or something,
- 37:29Speaker 1: and it might be a little bit intimidating. If you
- 37:32Speaker 1: go along, they're all into the training, they all know
- 37:34Speaker 1: each other. Whereas this is a bit different. It's a
- 37:37Speaker 1: great idea. It's much more relaxing. You can go along
- 37:40Speaker 1: and have a chat and you know, just sort of
- 37:45Speaker 1: without the sort of worry of shall I join shall
- 37:48Speaker 1: I not? You know, you can just see if it's
- 37:50Speaker 1: for you.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Now.
- 37:51Speaker 1: There will be representatives of the following sports tennis, swimming, sailing, cricket, running, walking, football,
- 37:59Speaker 1: bow rowing, squash, plus demonstrations of dance, judo. We've got
- 38:05Speaker 1: fitness with alistair, tai chi, amateur boxing, pilates and even
- 38:12Speaker 1: a ukulele group. So please excuse me, there's so many there.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I'm sorry if I've left anybody out. Now there's parking
- 38:20Speaker 1: directly opposite the highest swimming pool in South Road. It's
- 38:24Speaker 1: on a first come, first serve basis. This room for
- 38:26Speaker 1: one hundred and fifty cars, so if you look in
- 38:29Speaker 1: to take up a sport, this will save you going
- 38:31Speaker 1: around to all the sites. You know, all that traveling
- 38:34Speaker 1: when so many sports will gather together at one venue.
- 38:37Speaker 1: So get yourself down to South Road between ten and
- 38:40Speaker 1: five o'clock see what's an offer. Big thanks go to
- 38:44Speaker 1: Hive Town Council for coming up with this brilliant idea
- 38:47Speaker 1: and please visit the Hive Town Council website. And I
- 38:50Speaker 1: think as I was, was pleasantly surprised to see just
- 38:53Speaker 1: how much is going on. You know, there's walks and
- 38:56Speaker 1: all sorts of things. So I have town Council website.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Check it out, all right. So I'm running out of
- 39:02Speaker 1: time now. So what i want to do now is
- 39:05Speaker 1: I want to get this one in. It's floor Feller.
- 39:11Speaker 1: That's what I'm looking for. Floor Feller now. YMCA frontman
- 39:15Speaker 1: and co founder of the Village People, Victor Willis sadly
- 39:19Speaker 1: passed away during the week at the age of seventy six.
- 39:22Speaker 1: He was the frontman, the great singer that was always
- 39:25Speaker 1: done up in an American Air Force an American policeman's uniform.
- 39:31Speaker 1: And I mean, if ever I do an event and
- 39:34Speaker 1: I put this on, then I start looking around and
- 39:37Speaker 1: I'd say to myself, all right, who's going to be
- 39:39Speaker 1: the first one? Who's going to be the first one
- 39:41Speaker 1: to do the dance? And inevitably somebody does. So make
- 39:46Speaker 1: yourself a bit of space in the kitchen, in the office,
- 39:49Speaker 1: and just give yourself a bit of room and join
- 39:52Speaker 1: in with the Village People and YMCA. There's no need
- 40:09Speaker 1: to feel down. But that's it from me, big thanks
- 40:27Speaker 1: to the lowest. I'm sure he was all out there
- 40:28Speaker 1: doing the YMC Hate Dance. I'll be back on Saturday
- 40:33Speaker 1: between ten and eleven, where I'm joined by Aby Dawks
- 40:35Speaker 1: back after his holiday in Cape Verde, and I'm sure
- 40:38Speaker 1: he's got lots of Cape Verdy football stories to tell us.
- 40:43Speaker 1: I've got a quiet weekend this weekend, so whatever you're doing,
- 40:46Speaker 1: you have a great weekend and make most of the
- 40:49Speaker 1: sunshine
