- Lucas: Hey Luna, ready for another episode of Learn French with Fexingo? Luna: Absolutely! I love our little French sessions. Lucas: Today we're diving into French -ER verbs. We'll start with 'parler' and 'aimer'. Luna: Oh cool, I've seen those before. Let's do it. Lucas: First up: 'Je parle français.' That means 'I speak French.' Luna: Je parle français. Lucas: Perfect. So if you want to say 'I speak French', it's 'Je parle français'. Luna: Je parle français. Got it. Lucas: Now for 'you speak' – 'Tu parles anglais.' – 'You speak English.' Luna: Tu parles anglais. That's easy. Lucas: Exactly. Notice the 's' at the end? In French, for 'tu', we add an 's'. Luna: Right, so 'Tu parles'. Lucas: And for 'he speaks', it's 'Il parle espagnol.' – He speaks Spanish. Luna: Il parle espagnol. So no 's' for he? Lucas: Exactly. 'Il parle' – just like 'je parle'. Luna: That's consistent. Il parle espagnol. Lucas: Now let's switch to 'aimer' – to like. 'J'aime le café.' – I like coffee. Luna: J'aime le café. Oh, I love that one. Lucas: And 'Tu aimes le thé.' – You like tea. Luna: Tu aimes le thé. The 's' appears again. Lucas: You're catching on. For 'tu aimes', it's 'aimes' with an 's'. Luna: Okay, so I've got: Je parle, tu parles, il parle, and j'aime, tu aimes. That's a good start. Lucas: By the way, I have to mention something quick.
