- 0:02Speaker 1: To Teas in a Pod which Teddy Mellencamp and Tamra Judge. Hi,

- 0:32Speaker 2: got it.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Okay, they and I love it. I literally have just
- 0:37Speaker 1: met you. I'm a little bit like, uh, I'm kind
- 0:39Speaker 1: of fangirling right now.
- 0:41Speaker 2: It's kind of cool.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And she has the book coming out. When is it tomorrow,
- 0:45Speaker 1: Tomorravacon and it's called From Trauma to Trophies. Okay, this
- 0:50Speaker 1: is unbelievable that I get to actually sit here in
- 0:53Speaker 1: the presence of this right now. Let me get back
- 0:55Speaker 1: to my notes.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Okay, hot chair, the hot seat.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You're in the hot seat. I have some questions for you.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Are you ready, all right, Gertie? Are you ready?
- 1:01Speaker 2: I am right.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Those earrings. You can you could murder someone.
- 1:04Speaker 2: So we're good and away we go.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Okay, I want to know, first of all, you have
- 1:10Speaker 1: been to other Bravo cons?
- 1:11Speaker 2: Yes? I have?
- 1:12Speaker 1: How many too?
- 1:13Speaker 2: Okay?
- 1:14Speaker 1: So the twenty two years ago was your first?
- 1:16Speaker 2: Now or four? Oh?
- 1:18Speaker 1: So you've been to three? There, this is your third.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Hasn't happened yet, honey, It's official tomorrow, so you know.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Well, this is this is kind of Bravo con you.
- 1:25Speaker 2: See, like the pre Bravo cons of the Bravo Con.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Okay, So how are you feeling about it this year?
- 1:30Speaker 2: I am very excited because I gave birth. Okay, I
- 1:33Speaker 2: gave birth to this baby that have been writing for many, many,
- 1:36Speaker 2: many months.
- 1:36Speaker 1: All I know is that must have taken yeah, a year,
- 1:39Speaker 1: you say months? Was it a year or was it month?
- 1:41Speaker 2: It was close to a year. But I was writing
- 1:43Speaker 2: one therapy session at a time. Honey. I cannot wait
- 1:46Speaker 2: to write a memoir.
- 1:47Speaker 1: All I know is if I get to sit here
- 1:49Speaker 1: with you, I better get one of those books.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that's for you.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Okay, See it all works out, It all works out. Okay.
- 1:56Speaker 1: How have you been since the reunion? The Miami reunion thriving.
- 2:01Speaker 2: You know. I mean what you do is you leave
- 2:02Speaker 2: things where they are. And in my book, actually I
- 2:05Speaker 2: talk about this new theory and Meil Robbins, don't you
- 2:08Speaker 2: dare come for me, baby, because Meil Robbins got this
- 2:10Speaker 2: amazing theory which I was actually be a believer of,
- 2:13Speaker 2: which is the let them theory, right, let them tell
- 2:16Speaker 2: lies on you, let them do that and do this,
- 2:18Speaker 2: and you just kind of like, you know, brush it off.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And then I was like, that's not really a gerty trade, right,
- 2:23Speaker 2: So I took ownership of my actions. And that's the
- 2:27Speaker 2: let me theory. So you know what, you want to
- 2:30Speaker 2: go ahead and be selective in the lies, and you
- 2:32Speaker 2: want to be selective in the apologies. I will let
- 2:34Speaker 2: you let them, but I will let me not accept
- 2:38Speaker 2: apologies where they're not do and I will let me
- 2:41Speaker 2: do what I got to do to keep my peace.
- 2:42Speaker 1: You just made me have a sigh. And you know
- 2:44Speaker 1: what therapy always I've been in years of therapy because
- 2:47Speaker 1: Lord knows, my life's not been always easy. And the
- 2:49Speaker 1: therapist always says, when you do that, it's it's a
- 2:53Speaker 1: sign that you are receiving it, and you are it's
- 2:55Speaker 1: actually resonating with you. And that is an amazing tactic.
- 3:00Speaker 1: So my tactic is real quick because I got to stick.
- 3:02Speaker 1: But my tactic is you when you're in a relationship Russell, okay,
- 3:06Speaker 1: we're with Russell right now too, thirty.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Where you go, Where you're going? Where's he going?
- 3:09Speaker 1: Holy heck, thirty years, he's he's here. Mine is you
- 3:14Speaker 1: put something on the shelf. You don't have to talk
- 3:17Speaker 1: about it right then, you take a breath, you put
- 3:20Speaker 1: it on the shelf, You pull it out tomorrow morning,
- 3:22Speaker 1: and it or whatever whatever you both processed and can
- 3:24Speaker 1: talk about it calmly. You pull it off, but you're
- 3:27Speaker 1: let it let them brilliantly.
- 3:30Speaker 2: It depends on the relationship. Right with this one right here,
- 3:32Speaker 2: I got to sleep with this man, so we're gonna
- 3:33Speaker 2: hash it out. It depends on the relationship, because you
- 3:36Speaker 2: know what, the key before you do the let me
- 3:38Speaker 2: theory is to create an environment that's the sanctuary for you.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Because once I let you do you and I don't
- 3:44Speaker 2: really care about the consequences anymore because you've hurt me
- 3:46Speaker 2: so much, et cetera. Then I get to say no
- 3:49Speaker 2: and set boundaries and then come home to my family
- 3:52Speaker 2: and the good times and the good people around me.
- 3:54Speaker 2: So that's why you're able to let go of those
- 3:56Speaker 2: things because I win in life.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You're teaching a lot of reality people with some good
- 4:01Speaker 1: tactics right here. That's why everyone needs that book.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Because speaking of the reunion, people expect that reunion to
- 4:07Speaker 2: be like they're gonna make up and there's gonna be
- 4:08Speaker 2: a beautiful bow tie and we're gonna move on. And
- 4:10Speaker 2: guess what, I'm not cutting that monotony down. I'm gonna say,
- 4:14Speaker 2: you know what, we're gonna gratify this bitch and we're
- 4:15Speaker 2: not gonna do what they really think that we should
- 4:18Speaker 2: do because it's not their life and it's mine. Thank you.
- 4:20Speaker 1: It's called a trophy right there. People. Okay, so what
- 4:22Speaker 1: is your current relationship like with the rest of the
- 4:25Speaker 1: cast at this moment?
- 4:27Speaker 2: To me, For me, it's neutral because I don't have
- 4:29Speaker 2: any beef with anybody. They gotta beef for me, maybe
- 4:31Speaker 2: perhaps I don't know. They're gonna deny it and it's fine,
- 4:35Speaker 2: but obviously actually speak louder louder than words, right So, Lisa, Adriana, Stephanie,
- 4:40Speaker 2: I have no issues with these girls. They really have
- 4:44Speaker 2: showed me and poured into my cup, so I'm poured
- 4:46Speaker 2: back into theirs. And that's the type of friendship I want.
- 4:49Speaker 2: It's gotta be yan yanging.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Are you ready to see them all?
- 4:52Speaker 2: Absolutely?
- 4:53Speaker 1: And you're okay, Like will you be?
- 4:54Speaker 2: Will you be?
- 4:55Speaker 1: Okay? Good even though you've had some beef. See, that's
- 4:57Speaker 1: what I love because that's honestly, in this hard world
- 5:01Speaker 1: that we live in of reality TV, you have to
- 5:03Speaker 1: be able to kind of brush things off the shoulder
- 5:06Speaker 1: and go, I mean, unless it cuts too deep. I
- 5:09Speaker 1: get that you touch my man, there's gonna be a
- 5:11Speaker 1: thing problem, but like you you know, like it's it's yeah, yeah, Russell. Okay,
- 5:18Speaker 1: First of all, I need to hear from you because
- 5:19Speaker 1: you're just sitting there so calm and cool and collected.
- 5:23Speaker 1: So you are John is super soft, soft and calm
- 5:28Speaker 1: and whatever. And then I'm like you, I'm this fiery
- 5:31Speaker 1: like like everything.
- 5:32Speaker 2: It works though, it works, so because they love it.
- 5:34Speaker 1: How do you handle all of this? Meaning her?
- 5:39Speaker 3: Well, I mean I gotta let her do her things.
- 5:44Speaker 1: So are you tired at the end of the day? No?
- 5:48Speaker 3: Well sometimes, yeah, you know we we we know each
- 5:53Speaker 3: other very well and you know, going back to that
- 5:57Speaker 3: that thing. We like to face things head on because
- 6:01Speaker 3: we don't like to let things linger. But yeah, but.
- 6:05Speaker 1: With that, with that said, and I love that tactic too,
- 6:08Speaker 1: but there's times when one of the partners can't process
- 6:11Speaker 1: it all at that moment and it's like, look, and
- 6:13Speaker 1: John used it on me the other day and I
- 6:15Speaker 1: was just like, don't use my tool.
- 6:17Speaker 2: That's my tool on the show.
- 6:19Speaker 1: You cannot put it up on the shelf because I
- 6:20Speaker 1: don't want you right now. And he's like, Babe, I
- 6:22Speaker 1: need a minute. Let's just use your tool.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Put it up there.
- 6:24Speaker 1: We'll talk about it tomorrow.
- 6:25Speaker 2: And we did it.
- 6:26Speaker 3: It was fine, so I think, and that's that's part
- 6:29Speaker 3: of having a good relationship. I think knowing Okay, normally
- 6:32Speaker 3: we we we face things head on, but this time.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Hey, I need a minute. Yeah, and you go, okay,
- 6:39Speaker 2: let's let's reach and you still go.
- 6:40Speaker 1: To bed happy and there's no problem. It's it's just
- 6:42Speaker 1: we're gonna pull it off the shelf tomorrow.
- 6:44Speaker 2: He's my best friend. Like I still look at him
- 6:46Speaker 2: and he walks in the room and I'm like, I
- 6:48Speaker 2: would still I would, And that's what that's when I know.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Okay, that's when you know thirty years later, God, please
- 6:54Speaker 1: bless me with please Lord, I know me too. Okay.
- 6:57Speaker 1: So from your new book, Out the Traumas to Trophy, Okay,
- 7:02Speaker 1: what is like? What inspired you? I think I know already,
- 7:05Speaker 1: but I think other listeners might want to know what
- 7:07Speaker 1: inspired you for this book.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I mean, listen, when you've lost a brother, two nieces
- 7:12Speaker 2: in earthquake, when you beat cancer, when you you've gone
- 7:15Speaker 2: through the trauma of how you came to this country
- 7:17Speaker 2: let alone. I love this room. It's like a party room.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I love it.
- 7:20Speaker 1: This is the room to be Hey, guys, everybody should
- 7:25Speaker 1: want to be here.
- 7:26Speaker 2: And yeah, so, like you get to a point where
- 7:28Speaker 2: you just want to like release and you know what
- 7:30Speaker 2: is no longer for you to hold? Release what no
- 7:32Speaker 2: longer serves you. And it's just an amazing process because
- 7:35Speaker 2: it gets you to a place like here, and you
- 7:36Speaker 2: get to become a hashtag traffic group.
- 7:38Speaker 1: And by the way, no one can see you because
- 7:40Speaker 1: this is I think this is voice only. I don't
- 7:41Speaker 1: see any commerce, but you you look amazing. I want
- 7:44Speaker 1: the I want the listeners to know that she has
- 7:47Speaker 1: edgy super edgy gold earrings. On that are like the
- 7:51Speaker 1: bomb and also will kick somebody's booty if they try
- 7:54Speaker 1: to mess with her. But then her black dress, she
- 7:57Speaker 1: just looks the bomb. Okay, so tell us about the
- 8:01Speaker 1: trophy girl movement, Like, what does that mean to you?
- 8:05Speaker 2: The trophy girl movement knows what, she knows what she wants.
- 8:07Speaker 2: She's not lady gagging and just like being a follower
- 8:10Speaker 2: and just doing whatever to get you, go along, to
- 8:13Speaker 2: get along. It's not about that. It's like you could
- 8:15Speaker 2: be the lonely lioness, not a following sheep. And that
- 8:19Speaker 2: said that. I'd said that before and I say it again.
- 8:20Speaker 2: And there's nothing wrong with standing still in your own
- 8:23Speaker 2: shit and just being like, you know what, I'd rather
- 8:25Speaker 2: be in my truth and me my own little world
- 8:28Speaker 2: if that makes me happy and make me feel like
- 8:30Speaker 2: I am, you know, keeping my integrity.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Guys, you've already gotten two slogans from her. Okay, now
- 8:35Speaker 1: we've got the then we've got you know, she's full
- 8:38Speaker 1: of wisdom, but she now says get along, go along
- 8:41Speaker 1: to get along. I mean that is such a That's
- 8:44Speaker 1: something I'm going to take home to my twins. My
- 8:46Speaker 1: seventeen eighteen year old starts saying, and that's when my
- 8:48Speaker 1: mother passed down to me. And I talk about this
- 8:50Speaker 1: in my book. It's like, you know, you're a diamond.
- 8:52Speaker 2: You don't break, you don't you don't follow, you are
- 8:55Speaker 2: the leader, You are your own leader. And that's just
- 8:57Speaker 2: the way I was brought up. And I just can't
- 8:59Speaker 2: shake it off.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Your mom did amazing. Okay, So okay, I've got I've
- 9:03Speaker 1: only got a few minutes, because you know that we
- 9:05Speaker 1: are we are bringing the Bravo celebs in and out
- 9:08Speaker 1: this story. I'm sorry, I'm glad that you're good. Are
- 9:13Speaker 1: there any parts of the book that you were nervous
- 9:16Speaker 1: about people to know or or read? Yes, of course.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Yeah. The way I came to this country is a
- 9:23Speaker 2: long story. But the fact is that I was dropped
- 9:26Speaker 2: off pretty much one of seven kids. My younger brother,
- 9:29Speaker 2: me and my younger brother. We just were taken to
- 9:33Speaker 2: Miami and kind of we're told, okay, we'll be back
- 9:35Speaker 2: for you, and we're only I'm only nine and he's eleven.
- 9:37Speaker 2: And it's like three months later. You know, again, it's
- 9:40Speaker 2: seven kids. So I understand the you know, the evolution
- 9:43Speaker 2: of like getting here, but it was like I don't
- 9:44Speaker 2: speak this language? Who are these people? Three months of Hell?
- 9:48Speaker 2: And the book details of what I went through and
- 9:50Speaker 2: how it affected my sense of needing control and thus
- 9:54Speaker 2: being the party extraordinary per Vogue and and Martha and.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Okay, Gerty, First of all, I love your al's relationship.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I've known you a brief moment. At the moment, but
- 10:05Speaker 1: I feel so like I feel the love and the
- 10:08Speaker 1: energy and you can always feel that with people. But
- 10:10Speaker 1: where can people find you? And and the book, like
- 10:14Speaker 1: what does give us all the goods?
- 10:15Speaker 2: Traumat Trophies is out, It's alive. It's at the Bravocon Bizaar,
- 10:20Speaker 2: so you can definitely check it out on Bravo dot com,
- 10:22Speaker 2: on BravoTV dot com, as well as everywhere Amazon, Shopify,
- 10:26Speaker 2: the whole thing. But right now it is absolutely exclusive
- 10:29Speaker 2: at Bravocan.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Sorry for y'all that aren't here, but next year get
- 10:33Speaker 1: that ticket.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Streamers can definitely go on.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Guys, it's been a pleasure. I love meeting both of you.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Let's get on with
