- 0:00I'm Jar Jar Jabroni, and this is open Comms Radio.
- 0:02Thank you for joining us this week.
- 0:04Freedom fighters, Frontier fighters, what are they,
- 0:07terrorists, Freedom fighters? I don't know.
- 0:09But hopefully our very, very special guest this week,
- 0:12spokesperson and press secretary for Imperator Addison, will be
- 0:15joining us to answer those questions right up here at the
- 0:18top of the show. Later on in the show, we're
- 0:21going to continue on with our normal weekly questions.
- 0:24This is a call in show. After all.
- 0:25We do have a question every week.
- 0:27This week's question is a little spooky.
- 0:29What's the scariest thing CIG could engineer and Star Citizen?
- 0:35Going to be honest, this did not go the way I thought it was
- 0:37going to go, but it was a lot of fun.
- 0:39We had a really good time recording this one and we hope
- 0:42you have a good time listening. You can listen to us every
- 0:44Wednesday, 9:00 PM Eastern Time, 6:00 PM Pacific Time.
- 0:48You could just pop on there into the Twitch, into the Discord to
- 0:51join the call or otherwise you know how to catch us.
- 0:55You're already on it. You're on the Spotify, you're on
- 0:57the YouTube. If you're listening on one of
- 0:58those platforms, please give us a little like give us a little
- 1:01subscribe. We would appreciate it.
- 1:04Well, that's all for the intro here.
- 1:06Let's just get right into it. I'm George or jabroni, and this
- 1:10is open coms radio. The thing isn't, though, now
- 1:22that you say that I can't see it.
- 1:23You're absolutely right. After we're playing.
- 1:25Let's let's talk about that first, because I was going to go
- 1:27in a totally different. Direction.
- 1:29You can make as much money as you need and work your way
- 1:32towards any ship in the game. They, they were trying to cash
- 1:35in off of that nostalgia and that hype.
- 1:41We're live. All right, you're live.
- 1:43You're here. You're you're listening to Open
- 1:46Comms Radio, the number one Star Citizen call in podcast.
- 1:52Can't. You can't do that.
- 1:53What's this the number one Star Citizen podcast that you're
- 1:56currently listening? To no when.
- 1:59You can do that one. Yeah, you can.
- 2:02You can do that one. I feel like that's fair.
- 2:04Yeah, that's fair, you know? Yeah, Yeah.
- 2:07I mean, yeah, difficult to verify, but we we'll stick with
- 2:10that. Yeah, yeah, they could.
- 2:13They could very easily be listening to two at the same
- 2:15time. That's true.
- 2:18What do they call that? When you're when you're just
- 2:20like listening to three songs at the same time?
- 2:23There's a word for that. It's somewhere, somewhere on the
- 2:30spectrum. Yep.
- 2:33Where we all are. Fake news.
- 2:35Oh this? This wicked guy again.
- 2:41Oh, in the chat, yeah, we have wicket writing in the chat that
- 2:43we're. A bunch of.
- 2:43Fake news that we're not giving you the proper information.
- 2:47And I just, I just want to let everyone know because listen,
- 2:50Opencoms Radio, that's true. That is we're we, that's not
- 2:54what we do. We never said we would give you
- 2:58proper information. We never paraded ourselves as a
- 3:02news entity. Have never suggested that we are
- 3:06a fount of accurate information or even good information or
- 3:10valuable information or even information, period, really.
- 3:16Yeah, we're we're pretty much Star Citizen slop.
- 3:19Yeah. Yeah, we're the fluff.
- 3:22We're the fluff. But somehow, Duke, somehow we
- 3:26managed to get a very, very, very special guest from the UEE
- 3:29with us today. Well, this is big time, so we
- 3:33take like everything we just said.
- 3:36Well, we don't have to. That's, that's we're, we're,
- 3:40we're self produced. There's no, there's no one
- 3:44sitting in an office. There's no one making decisions.
- 3:47You know, it's just me, Duke. I've, you know, I pay.
- 3:52You sit in an office. Sometimes you aren't on your.
- 3:55Not for a long time. Not for a long time.
- 3:57I'm I'm in my pajamas. I'm talking about the porcelain
- 4:00office. The what?
- 4:04The porcelain office? The toilet.
- 4:09Oh, aren't you usually doing the podcast from the toilet?
- 4:12Yeah, that's, that's what it's what we're known for, right?
- 4:16It is. It is what we're known for.
- 4:17And you're, we're trying to get a fucking reputation here and
- 4:20you're not even picking up on the porcelain humor.
- 4:22No, that's how you do it. That's how you.
- 4:24Do it OK, All right, we. Do the toilet humor and then a
- 4:27representative for Imperator Addison from the ude.
- 4:33Joins us. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:36So, well, this week on Open Comms Radio, because it's a Star
- 4:39Citizen call in show and every every week we have a question.
- 4:42This week's question is what's the scariest thing CIG could
- 4:46engineer and Star Citizen? And I thought of that because
- 4:48it's it's the, it's the Vara day of the Vara.
- 4:53Oh yeah. OK.
- 4:54Yeah, that makes sense. So I want I wanted to do a scary
- 4:57question so I thought if I what's the scariest thing?
- 5:01I thought, I thought you were just afraid of engineering, you
- 5:04know, like a little techno psychosis or something.
- 5:09Well, if you have you seen the reviews?
- 5:13I've I've seen some whining, but I I have my own thoughts on I
- 5:17have my own thoughts on that. All right, well, hold your
- 5:19thoughts right there, Duke, because.
- 5:21Before we talk. About this week's question,
- 5:22we're going to bring open our guest that we teased for you,
- 5:25representative from the UEE. The Press Secretary for
- 5:30Imperator Addison is with us today.
- 5:33Press secretary for Imperator Addison, welcome to Open Comms
- 5:36Radio. Hello.
- 5:38Hello. I take it they gave you my name?
- 5:42Yeah, I, I'm going to be honest, I didn't know how to pronounce
- 5:46it. It is schmuckl muckles.
- 5:48Schmuckl Muckles. Schmidt.
- 5:51And it's Schmidt. Schmidt, Schmidt.
- 5:54Schmidt is. Is, yeah.
- 5:58Secretary Schmidt, thank you for joining us.
- 6:00Yeah. Thank you.
- 6:02Thank you. And is it your Your Eminence or
- 6:04your excellence? Your Excellence Schmidt, Your
- 6:08secretary, Secretary Schmidt. Yeah, yes.
- 6:11SEC Schmidt for short. Well, Secretary Schmidt, there
- 6:15is, there's been some, a lot of controversy recently regarding
- 6:20the Frontier Fighters, whom as you know, have been trying to
- 6:24respawn themselves, bring themselves back, reanimate
- 6:28themselves in the Stanton system.
- 6:31Many, many are calling them, including you and your
- 6:34administration are calling them terrorists.
- 6:36However, many on the fringes of space see the Frontier Fighters
- 6:41as a charitable organization. How does your administration
- 6:44respond? Well, first of all, I, I don't
- 6:49understand where you're getting your information and the fact
- 6:52that you're calling the advocacy, our greatest
- 6:55intelligence service, liars is frankly offensive.
- 6:59So I'm going to skip over to you next question.
- 7:06Isn't, I mean isn't lying sort of part of the job though when
- 7:09you're an intelligence service? Excuse me now you're just
- 7:14outright accusing them of lying. Is that what you're saying?
- 7:17Is that is? You.
- 7:19From your publication of all places.
- 7:23Oh, we we never lie here on Open Cons Radio.
- 7:27Except when we when we do. No, no, your your, your entire
- 7:31newspaper, your little newsletter that you e-mail to
- 7:35everybody is just nothing but slander about Addison the entire
- 7:38time. So I don't really expect any
- 7:40serious questions from you in the 1st place next.
- 7:43Question Secretary, I have that whole article phrasing Addison's
- 7:46style in the way that his pants fit.
- 7:49So her pants. So I I really don't think that
- 7:51that's slander. Secretary Schmidt, given that
- 7:56impaired Addison cannot fit into her own pants in her history of
- 8:02claiming progressive policies with regard to migration into
- 8:07the state and system, why have the frontier fighters?
- 8:10You know, I just want to, I just want to interject here about
- 8:12this accusation about the pants. You know, I've, I've heard you
- 8:16in the media keep making this accusation that she can't fit
- 8:19into her pants, that she had to go to Mervyn's.
- 8:22She went over to several other places that don't exist anymore.
- 8:26Or. Try to find these pants, you
- 8:29know, and and and it's it's just non-stop.
- 8:32Find a new story. No.
- 8:34One wants to. I think she looks great.
- 8:36Leilani can lay it on me anytime she wants.
- 8:42Could someone escort him out? All right.
- 8:46Well, Secretary Schmidt impair impair to Addison's
- 8:52administration has recently okayed funding for more.
- 8:59I suppose you would call them contractors to attack these
- 9:04frontier fighters. What is the administration's
- 9:06stance on using private militaries rather than the UE ES
- 9:11very own professional military? I think that we have a lot of
- 9:17patriotic citizens willing to stand up, willing to put their
- 9:22own lives on the line, not for an oath, but for the duty for
- 9:25their country. And they are, you know,
- 9:29appropriately rewarded for their for their contributions.
- 9:34And I and I think that the slant you put on this like somehow
- 9:38hiring people who are willing to stand up when and and give our
- 9:43boys in in green in the Navy arrest.
- 9:48I, I think, I think, I think you really need to think about where
- 9:50you're coming from with that, with that question there.
- 9:53Next question. Secretary, do do you feel
- 9:59threatened by open comms? I mean, I, I thought that we
- 10:02were representative as as a voice of the people and you are
- 10:06a representative of the people. I mean, I don't think, you know,
- 10:10we're, we're not, we're, we're not here to tear down the UE.
- 10:14We're, we're just trying to better understand it and bring
- 10:18that sort of Fair balanced in. You know, and you call it open
- 10:21comms and, and, and I'm sorry, I just had to stop you right
- 10:25there. You call it open comms, but is
- 10:27it really that open you're not willing to take on, you know the
- 10:32the other side of the argument, you know the.
- 10:35Secretary, as we're having some some communications, some
- 10:40technical difficulties there. We will be back with Press
- 10:43Secretary Schmidt later in the show.
- 10:45Unfortunately, for now, I think I believe we have to continue
- 10:49with our regularly scheduled programming.
- 10:52We gotta we gotta open up these comms.
- 10:54We're gonna open up these comms. That is what's the scariest
- 10:58thing CIG could do in Star Citizen?
- 11:03Could engineer Sorry. Sorry, it's open my throat.
- 11:08All right, we're going to bring up our our next guest here,
- 11:10Cosmic Hobo. Cosmic Hobo.
- 11:15Thank you for joining us. I didn't like when Addison wore
- 11:20that tan. The tan suit.
- 11:23Killed her. It was an embarrassment to the
- 11:29Empire, no? Cosmic hobo Dang all what's?
- 11:36The scariest thing CIG could engineer and Star Citizen.
- 11:42Fan suits for everyone. Like Vandal, but scarier.
- 11:46Like imagine, imagine if you will Glory.
- 11:52You're exploring a broken down ship like the old investigation
- 11:56missions used to have, and you hear a bump and you're just by
- 12:01yourself. You're a bump on the ship.
- 12:04You're a scratching sound. You're just kind of floating
- 12:07around and then the jump scare hits here with the vandal when
- 12:11he's going to slice you. Hey, come on, hey, come on.
- 12:14That'd be great for the first stop and then it's and then you
- 12:20just know to shoot them because they're going to be around the
- 12:22corner in the left. Or.
- 12:23Whatever aren't the aren't the vandal very blady?
- 12:26Don't they walk around in knives and.
- 12:27Yeah, they're pretty stabby. Yeah, definitely.
- 12:29Stabby. Yeah, he's.
- 12:30Stabbing. He's going to stab you.
- 12:32You want to be sneaking around, like looking for something
- 12:34you're scratching. Sounds like.
- 12:35Oh, that could be a vandal. He might.
- 12:37He might stab me. I think it was Freud that said
- 12:40that that was probably indicative of some sexual
- 12:42frustration. I could see it.
- 12:46Yeah. OK, OK.
- 12:49Ask Chris Roberts. So I think I think the real
- 12:51answer here is sexy Vandool. That's the scariest thing, that.
- 12:55We haven't seen a female or have we?
- 12:58As we don't know, maybe they all look alike.
- 13:00And males can be sexy too, and I'm not there's.
- 13:02A Right. I thought it was a little
- 13:03sexist. I think I'd let it slide, but go
- 13:05ahead I. Think there's a lower reason for
- 13:07this? Is that spoilers for I don't
- 13:12know, The Regen Crisis and a bit of the background about the
- 13:15vandal, but they're all genetically modified, so I think
- 13:20they're at that point of an alien race where the concept of
- 13:25sex and gender are no longer applicable in any meaningful way
- 13:31because their sex is killed and their gender is murder.
- 13:36I just got, I got chills. That was good.
- 13:39That was good. So do you do you think they
- 13:41reproduce parthenogenically or just in test tubes?
- 13:45I think they're all test tubes by this point.
- 13:47Test tubes. They're all trying to
- 13:49genetically modify the best warrior.
- 13:52And as everyone knows, genetics is a bit of a dice roll.
- 13:56So they're just, they keep trying and.
- 14:02This is why they're so stabby. Yeah, they're so mad, like.
- 14:06They're so mad they have no Mamas.
- 14:09There, there's no there's no females in their speech.
- 14:12Well, the and the only movie they have is Edward
- 14:14Scissorhands. Yeah.
- 14:16If that's the only movie they've got, that's that's why didn't we
- 14:20send that out in the satellites. Anyway, I've seen the vandal
- 14:23crying. He just wants a hug.
- 14:25That's, that's what, that's how the vandal were created.
- 14:27We, they did we send it out on a Voyager 1 or whatever.
- 14:30Now it's too early. I don't think we sent out Edward
- 14:33Scissorhands, did we? It could have been an early
- 14:36draft. Wait, didn't we we send out some
- 14:40movie that'd be a kind of a crazy one to send it to space
- 14:44for aliens? And that would kind of explain
- 14:46the vandal, to be honest. I think any movie we sent into
- 14:49space would probably get us murdered by by aliens.
- 14:53Yeah. Probably, unless it was
- 14:57Bollywood, like one of those Bollywood action movies, and
- 14:59then they'd be like, we're not going to fuck with these people.
- 15:02Oh yeah. Oh.
- 15:03Yeah, they wouldn't. They would never come to Earth.
- 15:04They'd be too scared. Yeah.
- 15:07Yeah, well, Duke, I I didn't ask you before you bring in our next
- 15:11guest, what's the scariest thing CAG could engineer?
- 15:16Like, you know, legitimately scariest thing that could
- 15:18engineer game. I would say sentient elevators.
- 15:26That's just. Dangerous.
- 15:28What would that look like? Describe that to me.
- 15:31It would, you know, it you'd, you'd press a button, you'd call
- 15:35an elevator and it would show up.
- 15:37Everything's fine. You know, you, you do the peak
- 15:39before you jump in because you're seasoned.
- 15:42So you make sure it's not just a black hole first on your first
- 15:45radio, you get in, your buddy follows you in slowly so it
- 15:49doesn't bump you through the wall.
- 15:51And then you, you know, you press the button for, you know,
- 15:55Jar Jar's extra large hanger, obviously.
- 15:57And, and it starts going and it's and it's going and it's
- 16:02keeps going and it slowly gets smaller and smaller.
- 16:07That's exactly what I was about to say.
- 16:08It's just, it keeps moving. But then you all like the walls
- 16:11start closing in, and then you notice that the the little you
- 16:14know, a seal between the doors starts to turn into the teeth
- 16:18and then next thing you know, gobbled up.
- 16:22Damn JoJo, you're broke. Bro I yeah.
- 16:30I he says give him a second. I spent all.
- 16:33My money on oh you're targeting game.
- 16:37Yes, I spend all my money on a Saber Raven in real life it's
- 16:43someone took it from me as always.
- 16:47Fastest. All right, all right, well,
- 16:50we're going to continue on with Open Comms Radio, Lord Lord
- 16:55News, Cosmic Cobra, anything you want to say before we bring up
- 16:58our next guest? No, bring him up.
- 17:01We're going to bring him up. I don't know if he's there.
- 17:03We're going to bring up our next guest, Lord Anubis.
- 17:06Lord Anubis, welcome to Open Comms Radio, your Star Citizen
- 17:10call in show you're on with George, Richard, Barney, Duke,
- 17:12later the 2nd and Cosmic Hobo. And we were wondering from you,
- 17:17what's the scariest thing CIG could engineer and Star Citizen?
- 17:23Well, it's very simple. What you do is all of your NPCS
- 17:30are powered by ChatGPT. If you look into your account
- 17:34and they're going to use your legal name to call you out.
- 17:37Sure. And they're going to look
- 17:40through your chat histories, all the things you're looking up,
- 17:42your search history, whatever. And they're going to use that to
- 17:45taunt you because they know your secrets.
- 17:48Know and what? If what if we don't have up?
- 17:52Grudging. Everybody's got secrets.
- 17:56Everyone has secrets, especially you.
- 18:01I'm clean as a whistle. What is what is strange
- 18:04expression? Yeah, clean as a whistle.
- 18:07Whistles are covered in spit. They are.
- 18:10They're not very clean. Yeah, it didn't.
- 18:13It it just didn't age well. This is a little digression, but
- 18:17I saw a clip today from Kindergarten Cop.
- 18:23Oh, such a good movie. Yeah, Arnold Schwarzenegger, I
- 18:27don't know, 19861980, something like that, 1991 and he plays a
- 18:33kindergarten, He plays a cop who's being a pretending to be a
- 18:37kindergarten teacher for reasons.
- 18:39And all the ladies in the neighborhood are like single.
- 18:41All the moms are like single happenstance and Arnold
- 18:46Schwarzenegger, and this is like prime Schwarzenegger and he's
- 18:51teaching kindergarten and a mom comes in to talk about her kid
- 18:55and she says. Have a small problem?
- 19:00You see, Sylvester's father doesn't.
- 19:02Live with us. Anymore and and I've just been
- 19:06worried about Sylvester he's been acting a little strange
- 19:09lately you know, doing odd things like what?
- 19:13Well, it seems that he's. Becoming a little obsessed with
- 19:17playing with dolls. You know it's weird.
- 19:21I think I can help you with that.
- 19:23Really. He uses the dolls to look up
- 19:24girls skirts. I caught him doing it yesterday.
- 19:30Oh, Oh well, that's a relief. Wait, really?
- 19:36I don't, I do not remember this scene.
- 19:38Yeah, dude. And it it's just like, it's just
- 19:40like, I don't know. I don't remember that.
- 19:43I I thought I remembered that movie so well.
- 19:46I don't remember that that makes you that movie all the time.
- 19:53Honestly. I do.
- 19:55I do. Are these all of your lunches?
- 19:58Fuck all. Right.
- 20:03You hit the kid, I hit you. Oh, I can keep on, keep going.
- 20:08Yeah, 100. Percent, But now I have to
- 20:09rewatch it because I don't I don't remember the the yeah,
- 20:13anti the homosexual anti homosexuality, if you will.
- 20:18I mean, you know, who know, it's probably not like it's probably
- 20:21just there, you know? Jar Jar was probably watching
- 20:23some bootleg cut and he didn't even realize it.
- 20:27It was. Yeah, it was.
- 20:28It was Serbian Auld Schwarzenegger.
- 20:33I I also. The Turning Point USA version.
- 20:37As a public service announcement, I also do want to
- 20:40remind everybody who may be a fan of that movie and knows the
- 20:46the quotes from it that sometimes it is a tumor and make
- 20:50sure early detection. Should get that checked out, so
- 20:53go. Get that shit checked out.
- 20:56It's not a tumor. So having problems seeing.
- 21:01Having problems seeing, feeling numb?
- 21:03Get that shit checked out. Like fucking serious like so to
- 21:08bring it to bring. It to bring this back, to bring
- 21:10this back to Star Citizen before we bring our next guest.
- 21:13My last question is, is if this were a Halloween episode and
- 21:16they did have Arnold Schwarzenegger for the, for the
- 21:19game, you know, they have like 4 days, they have a week of Arnold
- 21:22Schwarzenegger that they could put into Star Citizen.
- 21:25What role would Arnold Schwarzenegger play?
- 21:28Let's start with Cosmic Hobo. He'd play a villain, I'm I'm
- 21:34sure they'd put him in some over the top villain role.
- 21:39It would be some sort of like they need to break the 4th wall
- 21:44every now and then. I, I, I say this about every IP
- 21:49every now and then needs to have a 4th wall breaking satire show.
- 21:55Like for Star Trek they had Lower Decks which took way too
- 21:58long for something like that to come around.
- 22:01Stargate had their two or three episodes like the 200th episode.
- 22:04Like every. Every IP needs something to poke
- 22:09fun at themselves at some point or another, and I think Arnold
- 22:14would be a wonderful addition for something like that.
- 22:18OK, OK, OK. Lord Anubis, if they put Arnold
- 22:22Schwarzenegger in Star Citizen, what role would he play?
- 22:27Rowena Dooley Listen everybody, we have to fight as you know
- 22:33that they are coming in. Michael One, Watch out.
- 22:38Watch out. Seriously.
- 22:39Honestly. I wouldn't.
- 22:41I wouldn't hate that. And Duke?
- 22:43What role would Arnold Schwarzenegger play?
- 22:45I can't even say Arnold Schwarzenegger.
- 22:47Schwarzenegger, I heard you didn't know how to pronounce
- 22:51Schmidt either, so. Oh, glad, glad to see you were
- 22:55listening. Thank.
- 22:56You thank you for listening. To open Comms Radio.
- 22:58Yeah, you rudely hung up on that guy.
- 23:00Wow, that was weird. Yeah, I don't, I don't, I don't
- 23:04like, you know, politics. But the tan suit like that was
- 23:10the tan pant suit. That was just a line too far,
- 23:13obviously. Yeah, it was too far.
- 23:16That was I, I, I I can't abide that stuff.
- 23:19Duke Arnold Schwarzenegger. What's he?
- 23:21What's he wrote Play. Barista in on your nuttage.
- 23:27Yes. OK, there's a random like in one
- 23:30of those shops where you get the little avocado sandwiches.
- 23:33Yeah, avocado. He's just doing all sorts of
- 23:37voice lines and like desperately trying to interact with the
- 23:40players who are just going in and out, hey, come back, throw
- 23:46that bottle in the trash, you know, things like that.
- 23:49And with the way the audio propagation works, it's going to
- 23:51sound like he's right next to you every time, right in your
- 23:55ears like Gets. Back here.
- 23:57Yeah, exactly what are you doing?
- 24:01All right, y'all, we got a, we got a guess.
- 24:02We're going to roll on up here. Duke, you want to introduce this
- 24:05guy and ask him a fair question. All right, I'll ask what?
- 24:09Yep. Yep.
- 24:10So all right, Wicket, welcome to Open Comms Radio.
- 24:18Citizens. Longtime listener, Occasional
- 24:22caller. Yeah, good to have you.
- 24:26I knew he he's got his own intro, so I didn't want to steal
- 24:29his fire. No, you did it.
- 24:30You did it. You're doing.
- 24:30You're doing great, Duke. You're doing.
- 24:31Great. But our, our question for today
- 24:34is before you get to that, actually we've before you get to
- 24:36that, before you get to that, No, no, no.
- 24:39OK, all right, go ahead. Let me see.
- 24:41We're about. We're about to go off the rails.
- 24:43No, no, this is all we're we're, we're in the rails.
- 24:46We're on the rails. We're in the shoot with.
- 24:49Us, we don't want to be in the rail, all right and.
- 24:51In the rail, we're in the shoot, we're on the rails.
- 24:54I don't. Know what that means?
- 24:57We're on target, all right, This, that, that guy that called
- 25:01earlier, All right. Well, let's we we're being
- 25:06monitored right now. I I monitored monitored.
- 25:10I I noticed something about him. That guy is some star line
- 25:14crossing sci-fi gender hopping illegal Andorian alien or
- 25:21something. I don't know if you can trust be
- 25:22trusted. Wow, that that's.
- 25:27That's that's the. Press secretary for Imperator
- 25:30Addison Who? What?
- 25:32Press Secretary. Could.
- 25:33Choose they get jobs like that, you know.
- 25:36Yeah, they're influencers. They're trying to be
- 25:38influencers. It's unbelievable.
- 25:41I think we're going to have, I think we're going to have to
- 25:43space the couch tonight. Oh my God.
- 25:45Everybody's, yeah. You can extend it if you want,
- 25:47if you need to, if you feel. Like you need no space.
- 25:49No, no I mean space it. Like open the air locks.
- 25:52Just make them just air. Just air it out the.
- 25:54Truth. You.
- 25:56You can't handle the truth. Yeah, no, we we got to go for a.
- 26:00Everyone. 'S going for a float.
- 26:01Where's the button? Where's that easy button jar
- 26:04jar. Yeah.
- 26:06It it it looks like someone's trying to get through.
- 26:09Oh, yeah, it's that. Oh, gosh.
- 26:11OK, we have. This is the secretary again.
- 26:14Wicket, do me a favor. Don't.
- 26:16Don't Heckle, OK? Don't.
- 26:18This is a very important guess. We had a connection issue
- 26:21earlier. We've got some sponsorships on
- 26:23the line here, OK? We didn't want to do this with
- 26:25all of you on the call, but since you're here, just please
- 26:27behave yourself and, and just, I mean, let Duke and I handle it.
- 26:30OK? OK, Wicket.
- 26:35Unbelievable oh calling in we have back on the line
- 26:41spokesperson and Secretary of communications and public
- 26:45relations for Imperator Addison Schmidt just Schmidt Schmidt
- 26:51Secretary Schmidt welcome back we'll.
- 26:53Feel a chill. An Andorian chill.
- 26:55Oh no. It it does say Justin right
- 26:59before Schmidt, so you know it's right there.
- 27:03Secretary Justin, Justin Schmidt, that's what I said.
- 27:07We. Didn't care.
- 27:08We didn't want to, Justin. Called Schmidt, you know, I, I
- 27:12was, I was, I was promised a, a fair and unbiased forum today
- 27:18and I've heard nothing but accusations.
- 27:20Now you've even got your callers, you know, basically
- 27:24showcasing just the the worst qualities of, of, of you know,
- 27:30what's what's clearly your side of all of this, that you just
- 27:34unfairly, you know, give time. To we can do worse.
- 27:37This is This isn't the worst. We can feel the icing bias
- 27:40stripping in his brain in. Brain, this is Ian and Dorian
- 27:45should show you exactly. He's admitting it.
- 27:50He's admitting an illegal alien. This is the deep Empire in
- 27:54action, folks. No, no, I did it the right way.
- 27:57Hold. On hold on Mr. Schmidt.
- 27:59I I want to Secretary Schmidt, I want to apologize for the
- 28:01riffraff, the rabble rousers in the.
- 28:03Unbelievable. This is However, this is
- 28:06Opencoms radio. We are a platform for free
- 28:09speech with. Overcome from an Icy and Dorian
- 28:13chill right now. And sometimes we oh it it is is.
- 28:16That another big at at the fact that I'm an alien.
- 28:20UAE is for citizens. Are your antennae tweaked?
- 28:26You know, I knew this was a Zeno threat, Bastion.
- 28:28I I knew it. I knew it.
- 28:29No, no, no, no, no, no, no you. Can't really hide this anymore.
- 28:33Oh, there's a Zeno thing right on the couch.
- 28:35I had no, I had no idea, no. No, no, no, wicked, wicked this
- 28:39is. This is absolutely ridiculous.
- 28:40This is absolutely ridiculous. I want.
- 28:43To know I I want to talk to you, Secretary Arson, about the
- 28:46issues of the. Blues can't be trusted.
- 28:48Who the frontier fighters have been in the the Stanton system?
- 28:53Skin power. They've been in the pyro system
- 28:57and according to the Frontier fighters, they are just looking
- 28:59for peace and and to live freely outside corporate control.
- 29:04Mm hmm. Mm hmm.
- 29:08Yeah, he's looking at somewhere just outside Washington, DC
- 29:11Yeah. So look, you know, you know, you
- 29:15want to sell this narrative about the freedom fighters, but
- 29:17we all know and the advocacy is clearly shown exactly what their
- 29:21operations are up to. And, you know, frankly, the fact
- 29:24that you're being a mouthpiece for this organization is just
- 29:27appalling and, you know, anti empire.
- 29:31So, you know, I mean, I've been on here for the longest time and
- 29:36it's just been nothing but attacks at, you know, this is
- 29:38clearly how you operate. And you know, I, I don't know if
- 29:44I don't know. If your.
- 29:45Broadcast license should still stay up because clearly this
- 29:49isn't a news organization. You should reclassify yourself.
- 29:52I'm going to have someone look into that.
- 29:54Oh, what's that? Oh, I'm sorry, Secretary
- 29:56Schmidt. Well, we've lost you, Secretary
- 29:58Schmidt. I'm so sorry that.
- 30:00Kind of sounds familiar. That guy sounds familiar.
- 30:04Secretary Schmidt. Yeah.
- 30:05Well, yeah. Well, never mind.
- 30:10Something about his voice. Yeah, something about aliens and
- 30:13he's you. Know alien invasion?
- 30:17Listen, the open comes radio is open to all, no matter how many
- 30:20antennae, legs, arms or eyes. Real talk though.
- 30:23Real talk, pink skins and brown skins need to stick together.
- 30:28Look, Real talk though, blue skins.
- 30:30So how, how do you how are you guys surprised with these
- 30:33frontier fighters? I'm surprised they're not
- 30:36winning. That they got eroded into being
- 30:39the bad guys. Yeah, well, because I get Zeno
- 30:42threats. Why the bad guys?
- 30:43Like that makes a lot of sense. But the whole Frontier fighters,
- 30:46we work for them and then it's like, Oh no, it they're the bad
- 30:50guys. They were always obviously the
- 30:52bad guys. It was super.
- 30:54Not now. Now they're the good guys again.
- 30:56Nah. Yeah, apparently they're the
- 30:58good guys. Have you have you read the the
- 31:01tablets? Everybody here read the tablets.
- 31:05Corporate news the The 10 commandments or wait which?
- 31:09No, no, no, no, no, which not. The clay ones.
- 31:13Are those the only tablets you've ever read?
- 31:15When you when you do the the missions for see how the
- 31:19headhunters you have to go and get pick up tablets and if they
- 31:22if they're there and if they spawn, you can read them and
- 31:25there's like emails on them. And some of them are from,
- 31:29what's her name the the Asian. The only one I ever found was a
- 31:32grocery list. Really.
- 31:37Yeah. No, dude, I got some tablets and
- 31:40there's some emails and they're like, why?
- 31:42Like, it's kind of like. The biggest?
- 31:45Head on the grocery list I found was Cruz Lux.
- 31:50Wiki You've become basically like a tabloid.
- 31:57In in human form, in vaguely human.
- 31:59You know what I'm saying? Yeah.
- 32:01You, you come in here. You, you slander our guest.
- 32:05I don't know if first of all. He did that to.
- 32:08Say somebody was slandering, I said allegedly, first of all,
- 32:12secondly, secondly, secondly, I've not been proven wrong.
- 32:19Yeah. You know the Cruise Lux tablet?
- 32:21About the about that damn Andorian.
- 32:25Look wicked, you know, I mean, I heard, I heard your conversation
- 32:28with that guy and yeah, he was being a little ridiculous, but I
- 32:31don't think it's fair to just malign him because he's an
- 32:35alien. Well, he took blue blood to the
- 32:38NTH. And I mean, that's his biology.
- 32:41I mean, it's literally just blue because it processes oxygen in a
- 32:45different way. Yeah, we we can't support the
- 32:49Zeno attacks that we're we're currently hearing on the couch.
- 32:53The thing is, is frontier fighters, they're not even
- 32:55aliens. They're just like people, yeah.
- 32:57They are, and they're bad guys. This is what we're going to
- 32:59explain to me how they're not bad.
- 33:01Wait a minute. The the last thing I heard was
- 33:03that their whole shtick was we're going to go into Pyro and
- 33:07we're going to kill everyone. A couple of months ago I got
- 33:11hired by a couple of these freedom fighters.
- 33:13I did a couple of jobs for them and they gave me some sick
- 33:16looking paints for one of my spaceships.
- 33:19It was awesome. They were good guys.
- 33:21They paid on time. The check didn't bounce.
- 33:24It was great. But what were the missions?
- 33:26What were you doing? Were you killing people or were
- 33:27you all on cargo? What?
- 33:29Were you delivering food and medicine or?
- 33:32Need to know basis. I can't rule, I can't confirm.
- 33:34We're so he was murdering people.
- 33:35So so again, tell me about these tablets.
- 33:37What is? What is this about them being
- 33:39good now? I forget her name.
- 33:45The leader of the Freedom. Finders.
- 33:46Amelia Boy. Amelia boy, when you pick up the
- 33:49tablet, there's emails from Amelia and it's all just about
- 33:53like she says, like we want to live in peace, like why?
- 33:56And then when you finish the missions, if you do ACFP
- 33:59mission, I did, I did the the phase 21 where you destroy the
- 34:04health canisters. There's like these meta gel
- 34:07tanks, whatever. You basically go into a bunker,
- 34:09you shoot the meta gel tanks and then you get like it's kind of
- 34:14weird because you get the congratulations message from
- 34:16CFP, but then you get like a message from Amelia Boyd, which
- 34:20was like a little shocking. She's like, how could you do
- 34:23that? We're just trying to live free,
- 34:25blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Those were.
- 34:27Good people you killed. Those were good people you
- 34:30killed. Confirming he's had contact with
- 34:32her. He's had contact with her.
- 34:34Move in, move in. The fuck?
- 34:36Oh shit. Ladies and gentlemen, we got
- 34:38him. So wait, so you're, you're only
- 34:43proof that they're the good guys as her being like we're the
- 34:46we're the good guys. Also but like who am I fighting
- 34:52for? I'm fighting for headhunters
- 34:55which don't they eat people. No, no, I mean, I mean, I, I
- 35:02always got the impression that the freedom fighters were
- 35:06violent fanatics. I mean, their whole thing was
- 35:08they were going to go and clear out pyro, they were going to
- 35:11kill everybody. So what's you know?
- 35:17I'm just saying, where's the beef?
- 35:20There's no beef. There's no cows.
- 35:21Where do you think they're getting the meat from for those
- 35:23hot dogs? Everybody is eating everybody.
- 35:26You're my headhunters. They're giant rats just like
- 35:28today, man. That's disgusting.
- 35:30OK, so you either have at the very least Rat Munchers, which.
- 35:34Is lab grown beef man Come on, it's 20. 95 Munchers 9.
- 35:39Lab or lab grown beef, OK. And then CFP is just a
- 35:45greenwashed Hearston, right? It's like like the OK they're
- 35:50doing like charity with, Yeah, that's, that's, but that's the,
- 35:53the real life dilemma, you know? It's all that 67 beef 6767.
- 36:00I'm not buying it. I'll, I'll be, I'll be proven
- 36:02wrong eventually, but so far I'm not buying the are the good
- 36:09guys, Yeah. Anyway, when when I got in here
- 36:13earlier, somebody said there was a question I never got.
- 36:17Oh, all right. Duke.
- 36:19You, Duke. Don't Duke me don't Duke wicked
- 36:24insisted on talking his his anti anti blue nonsense.
- 36:31I said that and then we got dragged in when you know
- 36:34secretary secretary butt kisser came back in black yeah black
- 36:39hole or something let's move move down the couch.
- 36:41All right, so wicked the. Question is question.
- 36:44Question. How do you not get to his
- 36:46question? Hey, by the way, Unbelievable.
- 36:47What kind of host? Is it?
- 36:49The question is what are your What is the scariest thing that
- 36:53CIG could engineer? And then there's a secondary
- 36:56question about Arnold Schwarzenegger.
- 36:58I know this is not in no way going to be controversial one
- 37:01way or another, but I think the scariest thing that CIG could do
- 37:05is release Star Citizen. That'd be the scariest thing.
- 37:09Interesting. The reason being it's so scary
- 37:13is because then no more excuses. Now we're going to have to live
- 37:17with whatever they gave us. And hopefully they they're
- 37:21really quick at iteration, unlike development, which if the
- 37:27development length is any, any indication of how long things
- 37:31will take to fix, that's even maybe even more scary.
- 37:34But I think that's that would be my scary thing release.
- 37:41OK. Yeah, go for it.
- 37:44What? What would you do if Star
- 37:48Citizen was released? And it's not.
- 37:52It's not what you wanted. Probably not much because that's
- 38:00kind of what I'm doing now. Still play the thing, still hope
- 38:05for the best. So right now the game is not
- 38:09what you want. Would you say is it already
- 38:12moving in a direction that you don't want like you were like
- 38:14this project? Well, I mean, it's hard to,
- 38:18it's, it's hard to say because anytime you, you have any kind
- 38:23of critical response to any changes or, or development
- 38:29direction, the, the, the canned response from a lot of people
- 38:33is, well, it's in development. You know, it's, it's under
- 38:36development, it's being, it's still in the process.
- 38:40It's not finally. Yet it's an alpha, exactly.
- 38:46You get all the well, actually, you know.
- 38:50Well, I. Understand, you get all that.
- 38:53So it's hard to say. It's a lot of times it's hard to
- 38:57have a conversation about things like this because, you know, I
- 39:02want to be critical, but I also want to be fair.
- 39:06And I want to be not not only critical and fair, but I, I like
- 39:10to offer constructive criticism, you know, and, and my
- 39:13constructive criticism may not, may fall on deaf ears.
- 39:17It may, it may be thought of as not constructive, but you know,
- 39:23everyone has everyone who's who's backed the game and
- 39:26everyone who plays the game, which in order to back the game,
- 39:30unless it's free week, everyone who plays the game has backed
- 39:36the game unless it's free week. So, you know, everyone who's
- 39:39backed should have the, should be afforded the opportunity to
- 39:43put in their two cents because you know, the, the bill of sale
- 39:46was, oh, we're developing this with you guys.
- 39:49We're it's open development. You're seeing all the warts,
- 39:51you're seeing everything happen. And then, you know, it seems
- 39:54like a lot of times criticism, whether it's constructive or not
- 39:59constructive, is constantly shot down and.
- 40:04You want to see I I want to see, see a, a challenging, harsh
- 40:09reality of the universe. You know, it's a lot of times it
- 40:13seems like the care Bears in the world have a very loud voice in,
- 40:20in the that is heard throughout the community anytime something
- 40:23is harsh or demanding or could possibly be seen as counter
- 40:30player or something like that. Yes, immediately squashed and
- 40:35it, Oh, we don't want that. That's not fun.
- 40:37You know, well, like I've, I've said it, a lot of times we need
- 40:41to have a play space that kind of suits different play styles
- 40:45and kind of if, if you, if you're going to be the, the
- 40:48soft, cuddly care bear guy that you know, Oh, I'm a I'm a space
- 40:51dad. I just got home.
- 40:53I just want to go out and mine in peace.
- 40:55You know, there's going to be areas for you, but for the
- 40:57people that want to that put in that engage with high risk, high
- 41:02reward activities, they're going to have their play spaces too.
- 41:05And sometimes there may be some convergence of both of those
- 41:08spaces and people will have to learn to deal with that.
- 41:12But you know, if you're a lot of times people say, oh, I want all
- 41:16these these systems and and components in a space game
- 41:20that's realistic. Well, in a realistic space
- 41:24environment, there's going to be people trying to shoot you in
- 41:26the face any chance they get. You know what, we got a comment,
- 41:32our first comment on Spotify kind of related to what you're
- 41:35talking about right now. Oh, really?
- 41:36Because we. Yeah, and you and all of us, we
- 41:40were talking last episode about crime stats and punishments.
- 41:44Yeah, if you recall and so our first our first ever comment on
- 41:48Spotify, if you listen on Spotify, you can totally
- 41:50comment. Learn that today Elko Feder,
- 41:56Elko Feder commented. So what you want is that when
- 42:00you catch a crime stat because of another stupid accident or a
- 42:03bug, you will be definitely stuck in jail for hours without
- 42:08the chance to escape or loot your way out of there.
- 42:11No thanks. So this is kind of talking about
- 42:14punishment and kind of what you're talking about here about,
- 42:18you know, hardcore gaming versus like relaxed chilling.
- 42:22Out gaming, that's true, but then you know, you have to
- 42:24obviously you have to weigh the balance because you know, that's
- 42:27that's always the argument again.
- 42:29Oh, we're in development where there's bugs, of course there's
- 42:32bugs. And guess what, sometimes the
- 42:36bugs are going to put you in jail because that, that needs to
- 42:40be fixed. I think I, I think the, the days
- 42:44of just ignoring everything and saying, oh, it's, we're in
- 42:47alpha, we're being developed. I think those bugs that caused
- 42:51something like a crime stat that put you in jail for hours and
- 42:54hours on end, I think that needs to be fixed.
- 42:57You know what happened? We're in the year of stability,
- 43:00quote UN quote, double Bunny ears.
- 43:05I think that should have been a high priority.
- 43:07If you're going to do stuff like that and, and you know it, it's
- 43:10always, Oh well, you're putting the cart before the horse or
- 43:13you're putting the cart 5 miles behind the horse.
- 43:16Look at the, the horse and the cart will never meet again.
- 43:18I don't, I don't know what the saying is, but you get what I'm
- 43:21saying. So.
- 43:23Wait, is there a boat right now where you end up in jail for no
- 43:25reason? Yeah, you're late for work
- 43:29because your cart left before the horse did and somehow
- 43:32there's a time space warp. You burn the bridge along the
- 43:35way. You shot the bullet and somebody
- 43:37stepped in front of the bullet. And.
- 43:40But you never even meant to shoot him, and now you're in
- 43:42jail. I, I mean, I mean, to, to, to
- 43:45the commenters, you know, point, you know, yeah, you can, you can
- 43:51mess up. And to quote Captain Mccarter,
- 43:54it is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose.
- 43:58That is not failure. That is life, and that's exactly
- 44:01what this is. You know, this game, you bump
- 44:05into something just like in real life, if you're negligent, if
- 44:07you flew the wrong way, if you hit the gas the wrong way,
- 44:11sometimes you get thrown in jail for a couple hours.
- 44:13It's just how it is. So it's immersion.
- 44:16Or sometimes you do nothing wrong at all, like you said.
- 44:18I'll give you a perfect example. Yesterday I'm playing the the
- 44:21game We're we're you know, we're all doing the stupid missions,
- 44:24the to to to catch our Rep so we can get through stage 2.
- 44:28Was it that we did yesterday Hobo?
- 44:30Yeah, and. You know, we're all split apart,
- 44:34sharing the mission so everybody can get through this nonsense
- 44:37and get their skins or their shirt or their T-shirt, their.
- 44:40Pants or whatever. I got a comment about that.
- 44:43Go ahead. In any event, we're doing all
- 44:45that stuff right? And I got on a mission and I got
- 44:49killed in that mission three times in a row because my ship
- 44:52just stopped. It just stopped moving, stopped
- 44:55working. Some weird bug.
- 44:59OK, it sucked I had to go. It literally took me 3 trips
- 45:04back to Everest, three trip trips out of the respawn area,
- 45:09respawn my ship, go back out there.
- 45:10And this shit happened three times in a row.
- 45:13Or was it twice in a row? The third time I finally killed
- 45:15him. First of all, I was, I was so
- 45:19grateful that the mission just didn't despawn.
- 45:22And then even on top of all that, what took so long was
- 45:26after you left the mission area, it didn't give you a quantum
- 45:29marker to quantum back to the asteroid field where you're
- 45:33supposed to wait for the, you know, ambush the dude.
- 45:36So I had to fucking slow boat 300 miles to get to the thing.
- 45:42I mean, but I did it. I just wanted to finish it, you
- 45:45know, I felt like it was a challenge the same way with that
- 45:48guy getting locked up for accidentally shooting somebody
- 45:51in the face, you know, I think, I don't know.
- 45:55I think I think a lot of. Times nowadays.
- 46:00I think, I think you know, a lot of games nowadays, you go to
- 46:05play the game, you look up the guides on, on, on, on the
- 46:10Internet. You there's somebody has made a
- 46:12wiki for everything. The the.
- 46:16Wiki, somebody has come up with a guide how to do this or that.
- 46:21There's six or seven different content creators showing you how
- 46:25to do everything in the game. It seems almost
- 46:28counterintuitive. It's like some, it's not like
- 46:31we're not playing the games anymore.
- 46:33We're playing, you know, follow the dotted line, you know, paint
- 46:37by numbers, almost. Right, right.
- 46:39It's the Skyrim Skyrim compass marker.
- 46:42Yeah, it's, it's, you know, how many, how many different ways is
- 46:46there to, to finish this procedure?
- 46:48You know, it's just like this mission we're doing.
- 46:50It's, it's almost dumb. But then nobody, you know, it's,
- 46:53it's also so easy that it's like stupid not to do it.
- 46:56So you can get your T-shirt that you said, oh, I was there and I
- 46:59got my T-shirt. But I think a lot of that is, I
- 47:05don't know. I don't know what the answer is.
- 47:07Because if there's a guide to look up, everybody's going to
- 47:09look up the guide because you're going to be right.
- 47:11You want to be. I never do.
- 47:13I never looked up the guide. Yeah.
- 47:15I mean, I I'm being, I'm being serious.
- 47:17I'm not being. Yeah, but that guy.
- 47:18And you think that's? Because.
- 47:20You have everyone else showing you the.
- 47:22Ropes No, no, not even that no, and to my point, what I was
- 47:25going to say before, and this isn't this isn't just about you
- 47:28wicked just people in general. I, I always get annoyed with
- 47:33people who turn a game into a job and they're like grinding
- 47:38for things and they're, they're complaining about the grind and
- 47:41this and that. And I was like, well, what are
- 47:44you doing? You know, like, I'll go and do
- 47:47some missions and I'll grind them if I'm enjoying the
- 47:49process, even if it's got something really cool.
- 47:53I mean, I did the, what was the resource drive?
- 47:57I did the resource drive right Because I did really want the.
- 48:01That's my favorite mission. Of of but.
- 48:06I, I enjoyed it. Like some people were like
- 48:08complaining about it constantly. Like I've spent hours doing
- 48:11this. I don't even like, you know,
- 48:13cargo and there's all these bugs and I'm like, I don't know,
- 48:16like, you know, I just showed up.
- 48:18I would do like, you know, one or two a night, you know, this
- 48:20and that. And I enjoyed it.
- 48:23But I just I just think I it fascinates me and I this isn't
- 48:27like a it's not just a Star Citizen thing.
- 48:30People do this with all games nowadays.
- 48:32I feel like that's especially with Mmos, there's this drive to
- 48:37grind right? And I think a lot of what's been
- 48:41delivered this year from CIG is sort of just feeding into that.
- 48:44You know, it's these quote UN quote content drops and I'll ask
- 48:49organ mate. Sometimes I'm like, oh, like,
- 48:51you know, you're, you're going and and doing that mission
- 48:53again, like what's what's the point?
- 48:55Like, why do you do it again? Does something else open up?
- 48:58And they're like, no, no, you just, you know, you keep
- 49:00grinding it so that you get, you know, I gotta build.
- 49:02The bar you gotta fill the bucket.
- 49:04Yeah, and I'm like fuck why? And I, I'm a person.
- 49:08I mean, I'll grind. I've spent thousands of hours in
- 49:12in Ark fucking chopping at trees just to build a cool base with
- 49:17my friends or, you know, to go and tame an animal or something.
- 49:22And that's what I look forward to to doing in Star students in
- 49:24as well. Like I'll, I'll be out there
- 49:26mining, I don't know, iron deposits so that we have the OR
- 49:29to build a base. I'll do that, but I don't get
- 49:34the masochism of putting of putting yourself through
- 49:41something you don't enjoy for hours on end just to get the
- 49:47T-shirt like you said. Well, if you're not enjoying the
- 49:50grind, don't do the grind. That's that's my, that's my
- 49:52saying. Well this this recent one wasn't
- 49:55bad, it was just mind numbing like, you know, doing.
- 49:58These. That's bad.
- 49:59Mind numbing is bad. But it's that was so easy and it
- 50:02took so little time that it was almost like a no brainer not to
- 50:06do it, especially the way we did it.
- 50:09But about. Grinding.
- 50:10Thanks for the invite. I'm.
- 50:12I've never never shield away from grinding.
- 50:15I'm, I've been grinding in Mmos, you know, 25 plus years.
- 50:23The what was the mission? Anubis, I think you and I, we
- 50:26shared some of this, the, the, the resources when we were doing
- 50:29the ice and the tin. What was that one?
- 50:33And you had to turn it in for the big payouts.
- 50:36I think that was one of the the early resource drives.
- 50:40Resource one of the early resource drives where you had,
- 50:43you know, you have to get those different, you had to bring, you
- 50:46had to, they had that one mission where you could make
- 50:49like 26,000,000 at a pop. And at first you could just buy
- 50:54it like Empire and, and you can buy a lot of it and in one area
- 50:57and move it to another. And then all of a sudden those
- 51:00resources dried up. And then it became a way of,
- 51:02well, yeah, you can still there. You can sit there and try to
- 51:06get, you know, snag a couple of pieces here or there, but
- 51:08there's like 50 people queued up in a line in front of the, in
- 51:11front of the, the, the resource terminals.
- 51:15So the way to get it was, oh, go mining, go mine the tin.
- 51:19Go mine. What was the other one?
- 51:20Corundum, I think it was, yeah. Corundum pressurized ice.
- 51:25Pressurized ice, you know, and like, I don't know about you,
- 51:30but I figured out where to find that stuff and where to eat, how
- 51:34to easily track it down. It took time it you had to
- 51:38actually go out in your ship, find the resources and mine,
- 51:42mine the resources. Then you had to take make get
- 51:46those resources back to the station.
- 51:48You had to refine the resources. Then once you had enough of it,
- 51:54then you had. To move it to where?
- 51:55You needed to be and turn in the mission.
- 51:58But guess what? I'm still reaping the rewards
- 52:00from that. Because when that was all said
- 52:03and done, I had over $220 million in my star system Kitty,
- 52:09you know? Yeah, there's nothing to play
- 52:11for anymore. Sometimes it's just about to go
- 52:14on a ride and that's it. And it's pretty souvenir.
- 52:17I disagree so much with the ride thing.
- 52:20It's just. When you're.
- 52:22Spending time with org mates? You're not I.
- 52:26I don't feel like I'm just on a ride.
- 52:29I'm spending time with people I'm want to spend time with.
- 52:33Well, but you're the most. Thing we're enjoying well.
- 52:35You're all going on the ride. It's awesome.
- 52:37The most satisfying parts of doing the stuff with org mates
- 52:40and with Guild mates is when, especially when there's somebody
- 52:44new along or someone that's not as experienced and you're able
- 52:48to show them the ropes, like, yeah, somebody that's new to the
- 52:51game and like, oh, they want to experience mining.
- 52:55Well, how do you do mining? And it's like, well, there's
- 52:57several different types. We're going to let's try doing
- 52:59the ship mining. I have a ship port and you know,
- 53:02I'll show you how to do it and you know, there's a risk to it
- 53:05and you know, there's a reward if you do it properly.
- 53:08And you know, that's awesome. I love doing that.
- 53:10And there's no big giant reward from that, except for the fact
- 53:13that you're helped some dude learn something in a game that
- 53:17otherwise he may have struggled to do.
- 53:22And the war was. Told him to get good and kicked.
- 53:26Him in the face. That sounds like Angorian.
- 53:31You know, I, I heard how you were talking to Schmidt, you
- 53:36know? And is that really an Andorian
- 53:38name? Schmidt why?
- 53:43You know, you know, I mean like there's like Andorian cities on
- 53:48like like like a tire like Andorian populations over in
- 53:53Antarctica. They all live there, you know,
- 53:56it's. Pretty real estate.
- 53:58But it's not an Andorian name. It's a human name.
- 54:01No, it's a human name that the Andorians adopted.
- 54:04Yeah, they just, they love their pink skins.
- 54:06I want to make an. Announcement now all.
- 54:10Right. I want to make an announcement
- 54:11before we bring up our next guest and I want to apologize to
- 54:13listeners. We often will go between Star
- 54:16Trek and Star Citizen, like in this episode quite often.
- 54:20If you don't know, the Andorians are a Star Trek alien species
- 54:24that Lord Anubis is. A member of.
- 54:29Obsessed. With Yeah.
- 54:31I, I kind of make my living doing this shit.
- 54:34So it's, it, it does sound geeky, but I actually make money
- 54:36doing it. So it's like, you know.
- 54:38Well, if you're throwing a party and you need an Andorian, write
- 54:41it down to the comments. We'll we'll reach out to you.
- 54:43We'll send a Lord Anubis your way.
- 54:45Lord Anubis, you'll travel. Half off of it stripping.
- 54:49There you go, he'll. Travel Andorian firefighters
- 54:51coming your way. About a blue paint.
- 54:55Not a lot of fires on Andoria. All right, I'm going to bring up
- 55:02his next guest, right for the end of the show here, we're
- 55:05going to bring up Broccoli Rob. You know him.
- 55:08Broccoli Rob. Welcome to Open Comms Radio,
- 55:12your Star Citizen Collins show. This week's question is what's
- 55:15the scariest thing CIG could engineer and Star Citizen?
- 55:20How's it going y'all? Happy to call in to open comms.
- 55:23My favorite Star Trek podcast. Thank you.
- 55:26Thank. You, thank you.
- 55:27Welcome. Live long and prosper.
- 55:30The scariest thing they can engineer.
- 55:36I don't know, I guess engineer a way to make multi crew not worth
- 55:42it which is what I'm a little bit worried about.
- 55:45That would be pretty scary. I think that was the moment we
- 55:49we talk about this, we talk about this.
- 55:53Have you? Have you played it?
- 55:55Broccoli. No.
- 55:57No, I'm not part of it. I am not.
- 56:00What? I know for certain I surprise
- 56:04you are. Well, it's.
- 56:06Crazy. Somebody's an evil.
- 56:07They're not allowed to talk about it, aren't they?
- 56:09Are they? A lot of talk about it, not a
- 56:11lot of stream. Yeah.
- 56:12Oh, you're allowed to talk, but not show.
- 56:14Show it. Yeah.
- 56:15Yeah. Well, what are we seeing
- 56:20regarding this broccoli, Rob? So it's early in, so a lot of
- 56:27the tuning isn't there, but it seems like it's still a lot of
- 56:30the same problems. Like engineering doesn't really
- 56:35make it more beneficial to have a larger ship yet, and I think
- 56:40that's partly because armor isn't in.
- 56:46They also just need to increase bullet speeds for all turrets.
- 56:50Yeah, that would do it. I think a lot of it has to.
- 56:54I think the only real benefit will benefit and in the sense
- 56:59that it's a good thing for having multi crew is the doing a
- 57:04way of full death and everything being soft death now or mostly
- 57:09everything being soft death. You can still full death your
- 57:11ship if you die the right way I guess, but.
- 57:17Does that apply to vehicles? Like if I take a PTV out or
- 57:20whatever? An STV out.
- 57:22I don't know, probably. That's very.
- 57:26Interesting. Engineering is supposed to be
- 57:28for everything with components then Yeah, it'll include
- 57:32vehicles. They'll work probably a lot like
- 57:34single seaters though. So the scorpion will get soft
- 57:39death before it gets before you die inside of it.
- 57:43Yeah, generally that's the idea. Now is that components, the
- 57:47thing that will break is components.
- 57:51When your components break, when enough of them break, and I
- 57:54don't know the exact calculus of how this works, is when enough
- 57:58of them break, your ship quote dies.
- 58:01It's soft deaths like soft death would be the the norm now
- 58:05instead of kabooming all the time.
- 58:08Right. You will still kaboom if your
- 58:13power plant goes critical, but that's I think that's one of
- 58:18those things that needs tweaking and some more features before
- 58:21that becomes the before. We know what that means I guess
- 58:27isn't the way to put it like we understand how soft death works.
- 58:32We don't right now understand exactly how full death works.
- 58:35Because full death in the game as it stands is your HP hits a
- 58:40certain amount and you go either big boom which is like savingly
- 58:4475% of the time or you the other 25% of the time you just solve
- 58:49death, which I don't like that dichotomy.
- 58:51I need to know what makes me die I guess.
- 58:57Don't you take that out of context?
- 58:59But. If I starve myself, I die.
- 59:04Die if I if I don't drink enough water.
- 59:06Or do I just? Pass out, you die, you get in
- 59:10capped and your timer goes down like that snap.
- 59:14That snap down probably didn't make it through.
- 59:17Right. I mean, that seems logical and
- 59:20fair. Then a lot of times you'll get
- 59:22shot and you'll have like a tier 3 or Tier 2 or something and
- 59:27then you get in capped and you're revive timers an hour and
- 59:322030 minutes. You know?
- 59:35What's the calculus behind that? I've never understood what
- 59:38causes that to happen as opposed to just full deathing and
- 59:42waiting for the spawn cycle to happen.
- 59:45There's I want to give you. A damage, yeah.
- 59:48I think it's like in real life, so you have injured badly
- 59:51enough, people tend to pass out, so you're.
- 59:54Everything. You're bleeding out.
- 59:57You're, you know. Right.
- 59:59So I put I put some thought into this.
- 1:00:03Well, hold on. So 'cause that that guy had the
- 1:00:06comment of like, I don't want to be just like stuck in jail for
- 1:00:09hours. So this is this is my idea What
- 1:00:11you. Think leaves one comment.
- 1:00:13Now he's getting mocked constantly if.
- 1:00:15You're if you're. All open.
- 1:00:19Cons Radio. I'm not, I'm not mocking them.
- 1:00:22I'm not mocking them. Yeah, you, you're mocking them.
- 1:00:24We're all mocking them. Everybody goes like this Donald
- 1:00:27Trump voice, you know. We're shock radio now, buddy.
- 1:00:31That's just. I don't want to end up in
- 1:00:33prison, you know? No, you know, you, you're.
- 1:00:36An F off, yeah. He was wrong.
- 1:00:40He was dead wrong. OK, so you, you, you get knocked
- 1:00:44out or a soft death or even in prison, right?
- 1:00:47And you have like served the time all those like arcade games
- 1:00:52and stuff. Let me kill the time with the
- 1:00:55arcade. Game.
- 1:00:56Oh, that'd be cool if they had that in prison, yeah.
- 1:00:59You know we have arcade. Games in prison It's over the.
- 1:01:02Animation, right? Do you, do you get the do you
- 1:01:05get the idea of prison how, how it's supposed to work?
- 1:01:10Yeah, but you know what I mean. Like we there should be an
- 1:01:14alternative. Like you can play arena
- 1:01:16commander while you're in prison, you could play arcade
- 1:01:18games, you could do whatever, economy stuff from whatever,
- 1:01:22like management stuff you need to do you could still do.
- 1:01:27I think the prison should be way harsher like.
- 1:01:29You could be stuck in there for a month.
- 1:01:32You could be stuck in prison for a month for doing some kind of
- 1:01:36horrific crime. Now, obviously you can't do that
- 1:01:39now because we're in alpha double Bunny ears.
- 1:01:43But, you know, once it's released, I think there should
- 1:01:46be crimes that yes, you're going to be in prison a long freaking
- 1:01:51time and. I absolutely agree that we need
- 1:01:53a high SEC prison of some kind. And then on top of and on top of
- 1:01:57all that, you still will have the opportunity to maybe escape,
- 1:02:01but escaping will be horrendously hard.
- 1:02:05And not only that, if you're caught getting escaped, you'll
- 1:02:07add to your prison sentence. I say.
- 1:02:10They respond me with one less leg.
- 1:02:14They just chop a leg off. Yep, just every time you try to
- 1:02:17escape one more limb. Hammurabi's prison.
- 1:02:21There's a lot of a lot of games that have have some kind of
- 1:02:24justice system where you're incarcerated somehow.
- 1:02:27They're a joke most of the time, in my mind anyway.
- 1:02:30It's it's, it's, it's nothing. It's like a slap on the wrist.
- 1:02:33Right. In actual punishment, you know,
- 1:02:38like maybe a month or two months long, but maybe several days.
- 1:02:43You know, actual time where every time you log in you're
- 1:02:48either breaking rocks. Lower your time or.
- 1:02:52Right. It's going to make you think
- 1:02:54twice about shooting that poor Care Bear space dad in the face
- 1:02:57who was just trying to break a rock after work and stamp.
- 1:03:01Yeah. Poor guy.
- 1:03:03Yeah, I. Feel like the way it's balanced
- 1:03:06right now, it's like perfect. I, I wouldn't want to punish
- 1:03:09people anymore. I mean, I, I don't as much as I
- 1:03:13want the game to be hardcore and it is.
- 1:03:15I mean maybe everyone in in this chat right now has been playing
- 1:03:19the game for quite a while and you might lose sight of this.
- 1:03:22But when you do help someone brand new to the game, it's
- 1:03:27complex. I mean this it's it's not a a
- 1:03:31total SIM obviously, but it's much closer to a SIM than it is
- 1:03:35to being something like Call of Duty.
- 1:03:38And then they're adding this engineering, which is going to
- 1:03:42add a lot more complexity to that.
- 1:03:45I, I don't I don't want to I don't want to make the, the the
- 1:03:50cost of entry to be higher than it already is.
- 1:03:54I feel like that's just going to lead to needlessly reducing the
- 1:03:59population of the game, the potential players, and that that
- 1:04:02is just going to hurt the project.
- 1:04:04I disagree. Total.
- 1:04:06But you, you can that's that's a great thing.
- 1:04:09Hear hear me out though. The beauty of the game so far is
- 1:04:13the complexity. Remember now we we don't have a
- 1:04:17skill based system. We don't get XP, we learn how to
- 1:04:22fly our ships better or not and get killed a lot.
- 1:04:25We learn how to mine or not and you know, waste a lot of.
- 1:04:29Time. Yeah, but that doesn't mean that
- 1:04:31it should be increased from what it currently is, is what I'm
- 1:04:34saying. I mean, the great thing about
- 1:04:36coffee is the caffeine. You, you said it yourself, If
- 1:04:39you drank a cup of pure caffeine, you're going to die.
- 1:04:42You said it yourself earlier. You said it yourself earlier.
- 1:04:46You don't need to go in and and do it all at once.
- 1:04:49You know there's some grinding to do, there's some learning to
- 1:04:52do you don't have. To be a.
- 1:04:54One and be perfect at the game. It's going to even even on the
- 1:04:59like, even World of Warcraft, something that's so on rails,
- 1:05:02you still have to learn stuff. And that's what I said is I, I
- 1:05:06think it's good the way it is with this complexity with, with
- 1:05:09the balance with prison and stuff.
- 1:05:10I would not want them to make that any easier.
- 1:05:13It should be harder, especially once we have a high SEC, you
- 1:05:16know, high security zone. But I don't want to see people,
- 1:05:20you know, some Joe Schmo schmuck who you know, he does shoot
- 1:05:24another player because it's it's a fucking video game, right?
- 1:05:27And the next thing you know, he he's in prison for a month.
- 1:05:31It's just that's just going to be an instant refund that.
- 1:05:34Was one of our that was. One of our maybe they put him on
- 1:05:37a chain gang first first offense.
- 1:05:40You, you, you know, you know that that's a ridiculous idea.
- 1:05:44Well, maybe maybe it is, but you know, maybe that's over the top.
- 1:05:48But maybe what if? What if you know you worked your
- 1:05:51way up to you being a murder hobo?
- 1:05:53No offense, hobo. I'm used to it.
- 1:05:57You're a murder hobo that constantly shoots people.
- 1:06:00The first time you shoot somebody, it's like a day or
- 1:06:02two. The next time you shoot somebody
- 1:06:04within a time frame, it just adds up.
- 1:06:07And then you know what, once once you have a cool down, you
- 1:06:10go back to the base of just one day.
- 1:06:13But if you're constantly murder hoboing everybody, eventually
- 1:06:16you, maybe you, you work your way up to that really long
- 1:06:19prison sentence, you know? That makes sense.
- 1:06:24I think that's like spot on, Wicked.
- 1:06:27Yeah, yeah. It's just like real life.
- 1:06:29I mean, you're, you know, you're, if you're someone
- 1:06:31walking around with, you know, 20 freaking murders on your
- 1:06:35record. Well, if it if it's like real
- 1:06:36life, then you you'd be like you'd, you'd have like 6 or 7
- 1:06:40felonies and slap on the wrist and they put you back on the
- 1:06:44street. Yeah, it depends how much.
- 1:06:46Money. You have felonies or something?
- 1:06:48No, it doesn't matter. If you can, hire Secretary
- 1:06:52Schmidt to represent you well. Then you go on today.
- 1:06:57Secretary, What's his name? Johnny Hancock.
- 1:07:00What's his name? Justin Schwitz, he was saying.
- 1:07:04No Hancock. What's his name?
- 1:07:07The guy if you if the glove don't fit, you must acquit
- 1:07:11Cochran. Johnny Cochran.
- 1:07:12Johnny Cochran. OJ Simpson.
- 1:07:15'S yeah, if you can get. This is Johnny.
- 1:07:18Cochran, You can get OJ Simpson off.
- 1:07:20You can get anybody off. I can I can get them off.
- 1:07:23Get over here. How?
- 1:07:24How? How many?
- 1:07:30Back to engineering though, guys, you know everything that
- 1:07:33we're seeing out of this evil coddy thing I've seen a lot of
- 1:07:37you know, I was calling it bitching earlier, but I'll be
- 1:07:39nicer. I'll just say, you know, some
- 1:07:40concern about the the amount of problems, like, you know, the
- 1:07:48amount of systems overheating and things blowing up and
- 1:07:51Catching Fire. And I I kind of just want to
- 1:07:54like take people, you know, take them by by their cheeks, you
- 1:07:58know, bring them real close and just whispers like it, it's evil
- 1:08:02codding, like it's a limited time.
- 1:08:06They need to test this shit. They're not just going to set it
- 1:08:09up. You know, let's, let's say their
- 1:08:10baseline is, oh, you know, we're this, this piece of equipment
- 1:08:14will, will degrade and break, you know, every, you know, every
- 1:08:1960 game hours or something like that.
- 1:08:22They, they need it to break now they need everything to break.
- 1:08:24They need shit to catch fire so that they can get people to test
- 1:08:28running around fixing things, putting out fires like this.
- 1:08:32This is this seems really obvious to me, but it it does
- 1:08:34apparently is not obvious to everybody else.
- 1:08:36We have a lot of Chicken Littles.
- 1:08:38Yeah. Broccoli, Broccoli.
- 1:08:43Oh, I was just saying that's what I was saying earlier.
- 1:08:45Is this This is a build that is not allowed.
- 1:08:49Not allowed to be seen? Really, it's allowed to be.
- 1:08:51Talking about it. But you're not, you're not
- 1:08:54supposed to see it because it is not good.
- 1:08:57And I was saying this earlier, we've all gotten very used to
- 1:09:01really stable Evocadis where there's like a mission story
- 1:09:05that Evocadi is testing and then they're like, oh, perfect wave
- 1:09:08124 hours later. We're not.
- 1:09:10We are already forgetting the days of Evocati, and they're
- 1:09:14like, yeah, what was Evocati like?
- 1:09:16It's like, oh, I couldn't really leave the landing zone.
- 1:09:19I you. Know my bed.
- 1:09:21Yeah. The door wouldn't open.
- 1:09:24It's that like we're. In my room with me, they stabbed
- 1:09:27me. We're going to have more of
- 1:09:30those and that's OK because. We need to see.
- 1:09:32I miss it. Well, yeah.
- 1:09:36Features coming back, you know, the year of stability was good.
- 1:09:38I think it was great. I mean my my rig was sort of
- 1:09:41like. String back the instability.
- 1:09:43Yeah, but not really. I'm like my, you know, my rig is
- 1:09:46on the on the edge of of like, you know, being able to play
- 1:09:49star system pretty well. But nowadays it's it's buttery
- 1:09:53smooth. It's good.
- 1:09:54I I don't get many bugs. I don't get hiccups or slowdowns
- 1:09:59or anything. It, it feels like a game and I
- 1:10:02enjoy that and it's good. I'm glad we got that base level.
- 1:10:05Now throw me back in the shit, OK?
- 1:10:09Fuck my shit up. Throw some features at me.
- 1:10:12And yeah. That hurting me to your.
- 1:10:15Life with that mouth is. I sure do.
- 1:10:18She likes it. Is this next patch is going to
- 1:10:21be 4.4 right? Next.
- 1:10:25And it's this is the last patch of the year or is there going to
- 1:10:28be one more after that? I think it's got to be one more
- 1:10:32right? Sure one is 1 is Invictus and
- 1:10:34stuff. I can't remember the.
- 1:10:35Count 'cause there is a count. Like they counted like 10
- 1:10:39patches or something this year so we're on feet. 444, which is
- 1:10:43the next one that just went to Evocadi.
- 1:10:46It has the engineering that has the fire.
- 1:10:48What's everybody's like? Is that different?
- 1:10:51That's a tech preview. The actual EVO for 4.4 hasn't
- 1:10:55gone to Evo yet. So what was this what they
- 1:10:59showed with the fire and. Tech Preview.
- 1:11:02That was tech preview. What's the difference between
- 1:11:04that and? Tech preview is just, it's
- 1:11:08separate from patches. It's a separate loop.
- 1:11:11It's just a chance for them to show.
- 1:11:13Yeah, it's a chance for them to test something outside of the
- 1:11:16normal patch cycle to just be like, this is what we're
- 1:11:18testing. Let's see how it's going.
- 1:11:20Maybe we can get in the patch? We're talking about like the in
- 1:11:24my YouTube feed that's not coming in the next 4.4.
- 1:11:28Unlikely. Yeah, highly.
- 1:11:31Unlikely. Yeah, it.
- 1:11:32Will it will be a lot of confused.
- 1:11:34OK, I'm I'm highly disappointed now because I was so, so, so
- 1:11:38looking forward to ripping that fire extinguisher off the wall,
- 1:11:41jumping out into space and turning the.
- 1:11:43Fire. Extinguisher on and flying
- 1:11:45around. Wow.
- 1:11:48Yep, 100. Percent.
- 1:11:49No, wait, now Disney's lawyers are going to come after us.
- 1:11:50Great. 4.4 is the 10th patch of 2025.
- 1:11:55Oh, OK. And if that, if we can't use the
- 1:11:59if we can't use the fire extinguisher as a jetpack in
- 1:12:01space, that is game breaking. Say that again.
- 1:12:07Say that again. So I'm going to, I'm going to
- 1:12:09make a short of that say that again.
- 1:12:12If we don't get 4.4 or whatever patch comes up when the fire
- 1:12:16extinguisher, when we can finally tear the fire
- 1:12:18extinguisher off the wall. If we can't use that thing in
- 1:12:21space as a jetpack. Game broken.
- 1:12:25You heard it here, Sig. You heard it here.
- 1:12:27Chris Roberts, John Crew. That's the best idea since
- 1:12:30toilets. I'm not joking, I mean.
- 1:12:35That's that's kind of crazy there Jar, jar that that's
- 1:12:38that's putting it pretty high up there.
- 1:12:40If I'm in space and I shoot the fire extinguisher and it doesn't
- 1:12:43push me in the opposite direction with equal force as
- 1:12:47Newton's laws would command. Oh boy.
- 1:12:51Now see if if had you not said that.
- 1:12:53Wicked. Another six months of
- 1:12:54development. Had you not said that?
- 1:12:57Six years. Oh dude, if they're I'm going to
- 1:13:01be so upset for probably a decade.
- 1:13:04They'll they'll probably get that working right away, but
- 1:13:06then Chris Roberts will not want to release it because the little
- 1:13:10CO2 particles that are emanating from the exhaust nozzle of the
- 1:13:14fire extinguisher. Right they're.
- 1:13:16Just not cinematic enough. So until we get that right,
- 1:13:19yeah, that's going to stay. On the.
- 1:13:22Audio guys going to have to look at it.
- 1:13:24Mr. Jajar. Yeah.
- 1:13:30Whenever I just want to tell you.
- 1:13:31Willy's my assistant wicket. Hold on.
- 1:13:33Let Willy speak. Yes, Willy.
- 1:13:34No, no, no. This is this is, this is Flores.
- 1:13:39Oh, Jens Flores. Jens Flores, you.
- 1:13:41How'd you pop in here? Jens Florence is a fantastic.
- 1:13:44For those of you don't know, he's a developer from CIG.
- 1:13:46He's fantastic with computers. Sometimes he sneaks on in here
- 1:13:50onto the couch. I don't even know how he does
- 1:13:52it. Jens Flores from CIG Frankfurt,
- 1:13:56thank you for joining us. Hello, thank you.
- 1:13:59Yes, I just wanted to make the announcement that yes, we are
- 1:14:04working on that, but we have to physicalize each CO2 particle
- 1:14:10and in order to generate the G forces needed with the advanced
- 1:14:15calculation. Currently we're slated for 2029.
- 1:14:18We're. Going to need new the new Vulcan
- 1:14:21effects too for all the bubbles right?
- 1:14:25The ray tracing ray tray bubble, that's 19.
- 1:14:30Wow, you guys are forward thinking.
- 1:14:32Yes. Now Yens, given the realism of
- 1:14:35the game, and now that you have fire extinguishers in the game,
- 1:14:39you're saying you need to physicalize each CO2 particle.
- 1:14:42Do fire extinguishers contain CO2?
- 1:14:48Both Google right now. Yes, of course.
- 1:14:51Or Halon. Or you could have something
- 1:14:55where it is a chemical reaction where it still uses CO2 but also
- 1:15:00has water, like a bicarbonate solution.
- 1:15:06I was just checking. The 4th wall is coming down.
- 1:15:09I did not Google that some developers you can work.
- 1:15:15Could you imagine working at CIG?
- 1:15:18You're like, you're a fucking computer guy.
- 1:15:20You want to just make games? And Christopher was just like, I
- 1:15:23need you to become an expert on fire extinguishers.
- 1:15:26Well, who did the geology stuff for like the refining like that
- 1:15:29was that was. Are any of those Randy Marsh?
- 1:15:31Yeah. I mean, I assume they hired some
- 1:15:37sort of geologist consultant. I, I doubt they did just
- 1:15:41because, I mean, when we recently didn't have a chance to
- 1:15:46talk to anyone, CIG and I didn't ask them if they got any
- 1:15:51training on public speaking, you know, for these massive events
- 1:15:54and stuff. And they were like, no, that
- 1:15:55would like, I was surprised because some of them have done
- 1:15:59really well, just like their first time out and have come a
- 1:16:01long way, you know, over the years.
- 1:16:04And they're like, no, you know, CIG didn't, they didn't offer
- 1:16:07any, any kind of help or training for that.
- 1:16:10So I I think these guys are just out there raw dog in the
- 1:16:12Internet and learning as much as they can.
- 1:16:15Well, believe me or not, you may not know from listen to the
- 1:16:18show, but I used to train people in public speaking not not too
- 1:16:21long ago, two or three years ago.
- 1:16:23Yeah, yeah. Was this in prison?
- 1:16:26No, this is not, although I would.
- 1:16:28I would be happy to. I don't know why they would need
- 1:16:31to, but I'd be happy to. I think.
- 1:16:35The guy all Yeah, the one trained him.
- 1:16:36Rehabilitation. Rob Rock and Rob Rob like it.
- 1:16:43You were saying something. I think the.
- 1:16:45Jared was training him to speak. I'm sure he coached.
- 1:16:52I'm sure he coached them. Yeah, because they but but they
- 1:16:54said no but. Yeah, I'm sure they didn't get
- 1:16:57any formal training, but I'm sure you, you know.
- 1:17:01Some of them, yeah. Some of them I.
- 1:17:03Mean look how many times. They basically said they shit
- 1:17:05themselves on stage. Look how many times those guys
- 1:17:09have now been in front of people and in front of the camera.
- 1:17:12A lot of them have been, you know, it's just you muscle, the
- 1:17:15more you work or you're going to build up some some resistance,
- 1:17:19some tolerance. Yeah, I'm sure Jared Feedback
- 1:17:22wasn't the best. Well, Jared, feedback, John,
- 1:17:25Crew be more like the puppet. I think they do fine.
- 1:17:32I mean, some of the stuff they say, they say, I think just
- 1:17:35sounds like a lot of marketing speak, but.
- 1:17:38How dare you. I think it would be interesting
- 1:17:41to be in an interview. Like they said, you know, some
- 1:17:44people, they have people show up who don't necessarily know.
- 1:17:49Yeah. Like you're, you, you.
- 1:17:50We might ask you to go on stage in front of 2000 people and be
- 1:17:55simultaneously live. I'm I sit behind.
- 1:17:58The screen all day. Yeah, but but they do, you know
- 1:18:01what I mean? Obviously, right.
- 1:18:02It's in your contract. No, no, you, you totally did
- 1:18:04sign up for this. You've got to see someone in an
- 1:18:07interview who showed up and just didn't know, you know, that that
- 1:18:11was the deal. Oh, somebody.
- 1:18:12Yeah. Poor guys on stage
- 1:18:14hyperventilating. Right.
- 1:18:17How many, how many sitcoms have there been and no one's passed
- 1:18:20out yet? It's impressive.
- 1:18:23It's pretty good. To be honest, those cons are
- 1:18:26very tiny. Wow, listen to this guy.
- 1:18:31This guy. Over here.
- 1:18:32This guy's swinging some big cons over here.
- 1:18:36This guy's. Look at the cons on this kid.
- 1:18:41They're a cons on. Do you, do you carry those
- 1:18:43around yourself or do you need like a wheelbarrow or something?
- 1:18:45So so. So.
- 1:18:47So I'll put it this way. I'll put it this way.
- 1:18:49So. Put it any way you want man, no
- 1:18:50one's going to argue with the guy who's cons of that big.
- 1:18:53So when it was in LA it was it was the vendor room plus or
- 1:18:58vendor ish room with exhibits and the pyro area, right?
- 1:19:03Plus the seating area for for for the big, you know,
- 1:19:08presentations and everything like that.
- 1:19:09It was like 1500 people. You could sit seat there or
- 1:19:12something. That was only half of the vendor
- 1:19:16room or like LA Comic Con, like just that's just half the vendor
- 1:19:21room. But like the whole sit con was
- 1:19:25was was not even just like, it was just artist alley.
- 1:19:28Yeah, but comic. Con is like.
- 1:19:30DC, Marvel, Star Wars, Pokémon. That's the franchises that are
- 1:19:35being represented were right. Citizen Con is a single thing.
- 1:19:40Yeah, and yeah, and you're and you're a dude that just got
- 1:19:43hired to make you're. A con chamber.
- 1:19:46You know, you got you got hired to make water look pretty and
- 1:19:49now you've got to talk in front of, you know, 2000 people and
- 1:19:52also you know it. No one.
- 1:19:56I mean, I mean, I guess maybe I'm wrong on this.
- 1:19:57I don't, I don't go for the Comic Con stuff, But I mean, are
- 1:20:00they also live streaming, You know, every interview at Comic
- 1:20:04Con with people? Really.
- 1:20:07Yeah. Most of them.
- 1:20:11Because people, people you know, can't be there.
- 1:20:13They'll tend, they'll tend from from outside.
- 1:20:15But my, my, my thing thing is, is like the reason why you
- 1:20:18haven't seen people faint or you haven't seen like medical
- 1:20:21emergencies or some of the hiccups is because it, you know,
- 1:20:24it is, it is rather small, but they make a big production to
- 1:20:27each of it, which is impressive, honestly.
- 1:20:30I. Don't think that's the reason.
- 1:20:31I mean, the reason is because those guys have done pretty
- 1:20:33well. I mean, some people will pass
- 1:20:35out, you know, talking to a room full of like 10 people.
- 1:20:40No, he means like the audience, the attendees.
- 1:20:44Oh, I wasn't talking about the attend.
- 1:20:45No, the attendees passing out, that's what we were talking
- 1:20:47about. I thought that's what we were
- 1:20:50talking about. No, no, it's about the dude.
- 1:20:53Does anyone? Know what the fuck we're talking
- 1:20:55about? Who who gives?
- 1:20:56Who gives a shit if any of the Pete the schlubs sitting in the
- 1:20:58seats pass out? Wow.
- 1:21:00Oh my God, that's you. That's me.
- 1:21:04That's us. There's someone.
- 1:21:06That's what I'm. Saying.
- 1:21:10That's what I'm saying. If George passes out, I'm going
- 1:21:12to roll his bloated corpse to the side and take his seat.
- 1:21:16If it's a better spot, that's it.
- 1:21:18I'm going to rifle through his bag, take some of those stickers
- 1:21:21and move on with my life. I don't care.
- 1:21:23If he passed. Out if.
- 1:21:25John Crew passes out in the middle of the presentation.
- 1:21:28I'm going to be OK. I'm going to be up there giving
- 1:21:31him CPR. Not not because I care for the
- 1:21:33man, which I do, that's something separate, but because
- 1:21:36I want my presentation. OK, Duke wants to give John Crew
- 1:21:39mouth to mouth. You've heard it here first.
- 1:21:42Are you at least going to maybe like put your phone onto 911 and
- 1:21:46then just leave their phone there before you steal their
- 1:21:48wallet too? No, 911 doesn't like that.
- 1:21:53Damn that's wild. You see, cosmic dudes would
- 1:21:56leave you there in the bar, just slumped over.
- 1:21:59Damn, no, he. Wouldn't with that?
