- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's your person, Michelle. I guess I'm back and
- 0:04Speaker 1: not happy because I don't know what's going on with
- 0:07Speaker 1: my body, and I probably have something wrong with me.
- 0:11Speaker 1: I mean, I always think I have something wrong with me.
- 0:14Speaker 1: But the thing I thought was a food allergy probably
- 0:17Speaker 1: isn't a food allergy. So I need to figure out
- 0:19Speaker 1: what that is. And it's stressing me out and it
- 0:22Speaker 1: makes me not feel good. So it's hard to do
- 0:25Speaker 1: things like this, but I'm doing it because I have to.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Why do I have to, I don't know, because I
- 0:32Speaker 1: put an incredible amount of pressure on myself all the
- 0:35Speaker 1: time to get things done. Yeah, I guess thank you
- 0:39Speaker 1: for listening. I'm hoping that you are and that I'm
- 0:42Speaker 1: not doing this for nothing. But I think that people
- 0:44Speaker 1: might listen sometimes, so as long as like oneish person
- 0:48Speaker 1: is listening, I guess it's fine that I'm doing this, right,
- 0:52Speaker 1: I don't know. Sorry, again, not having a really good
- 0:55Speaker 1: week so far. But that's not what we came to discuss, right.
- 1:00Speaker 1: We're talking about eighty six, and specifically the thirteenth episode
- 1:03Speaker 1: of eighty six, which is called It's Too Late. I
- 1:06Speaker 1: just realized as I said that that I don't know
- 1:08Speaker 1: where the title drop is in this episode, so hopefully
- 1:11Speaker 1: we'll find it together, but it doesn't sound super promising anyway.
- 1:15Speaker 1: If you remember from the last episode, we ended with
- 1:19Speaker 1: Shin looking at that piece of his brother's juggernaut that
- 1:25Speaker 1: Ernest gave back to him and just being like totally
- 1:27Speaker 1: freaked out about it. So we start probably not exactly there.
- 1:33Speaker 1: In fact, we don't start there at all. We start
- 1:35Speaker 1: with the opening theme. Oh my god, I think that's
- 1:38Speaker 1: like the first time in the show that we put
- 1:40Speaker 1: the opening theme first. So it's kind of nice because
- 1:43Speaker 1: I didn't have to do anything for like three minutes
- 1:45Speaker 1: or however many minutes that was two minutes, who knows.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Once we are done with the opening, we see a city.
- 1:51Speaker 1: We're kind of like relatively high up, like maybe equivalent
- 1:55Speaker 1: of like three or four stories up, like not totally
- 1:58Speaker 1: above the city, but not on the ground, and just
- 2:01Speaker 1: looks like a nice, well maintained city. And we're kind
- 2:04Speaker 1: of over like what looks like a park, like almost
- 2:07Speaker 1: like Central Park because there's buildings all around it. And
- 2:10Speaker 1: it says that this is sancd Jetter. I guess in
- 2:14Speaker 1: the geodveedteracy, we hear a voice, Ay, the festival of
- 2:18Speaker 1: the Holy Birth is next week, and the whole city's
- 2:20Speaker 1: getting ready. We see a church with a you know,
- 2:24Speaker 1: huge decorated pine tree out front, and there are some
- 2:28Speaker 1: statues near it, like a statue of like a man
- 2:30Speaker 1: and a woman I think maybe, and they're wearing coats,
- 2:33Speaker 1: so everybody's getting all in the spirit of I guess Christmas.
- 2:36Speaker 1: And then we see a Christmas market with like lots
- 2:40Speaker 1: of like booths and stalls like up along walkway and
- 2:43Speaker 1: all sorts of decorations, and the voice continues, today we'll
- 2:47Speaker 1: show you just how much fun everyone's happening. The screen
- 2:50Speaker 1: kind of wipes, which it does a lot in this episode,
- 2:53Speaker 1: and we see the exterior of Ernst House. Then we
- 2:56Speaker 1: cut to a TV and on the TV it says
- 3:00Speaker 1: is the President's lunch lie. The loser has to give
- 3:03Speaker 1: the winner whatever they want as a presence. That sounds
- 3:06Speaker 1: pretty dumb. And then we see that Frederica is watching
- 3:09Speaker 1: the TV and this splond haired woman on the screen says,
- 3:13Speaker 1: this is a special ornament that you can only get
- 3:15Speaker 1: in this market. So it's cuter, right. Frederica is totally
- 3:19Speaker 1: mesmerized by this and the guy on the screen says
- 3:23Speaker 1: it's kind of expensive, and this brown haired girl is like,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I want it though, and she's like kind of leaning
- 3:29Speaker 1: in to the guy, and the guy's like, oh fine,
- 3:32Speaker 1: I'll take it. Frederica's like what and she turns around
- 3:36Speaker 1: to where Teresa is vacuuming and says, Teresa, where's shine.
- 3:40Speaker 1: The screen then wipes to a truck driving down the
- 3:43Speaker 1: street with a like a bunny with a blue hat
- 3:46Speaker 1: on it and like a green arrow and some like
- 3:48Speaker 1: yellow circle with another circle behind it or something, and
- 3:52Speaker 1: we hear someone say I'm tired. Ride In is inside
- 3:56Speaker 1: the truck, like in the front of the truck with
- 3:57Speaker 1: these two other guys, one of them has brown and
- 4:00Speaker 1: one of them has a mohawk, and the brown haired
- 4:02Speaker 1: guy is driving, and the guy with the red mohawk
- 4:05Speaker 1: has his feet up on the dash and Righting's like really,
- 4:08Speaker 1: The mohawk guy says, you're really tough. You loaded that
- 4:12Speaker 1: fridge all by yourself, right right, And it's like, oh, oh,
- 4:15Speaker 1: that's easy if you know the trick, tell me the
- 4:18Speaker 1: trick riding. The mohawk guy says, no, no, no, and
- 4:21Speaker 1: the brown haired guy is like, but that delivery of
- 4:24Speaker 1: the seventh floor with no elevator. Yesterday was really rough,
- 4:26Speaker 1: right right, and it's like it was a three ring
- 4:29Speaker 1: circus filled with fun and excitements. The guy with the
- 4:33Speaker 1: mohawks says what, and they all just kind of laugh,
- 4:35Speaker 1: I guess. Then we see buildings and two women like
- 4:39Speaker 1: walking down the streets, and the first woman says, want
- 4:43Speaker 1: to go to that cafe? And the second woman's like, okay.
- 4:46Speaker 1: We see a young couple walking down the street holding hands,
- 4:49Speaker 1: and the girl's like, where are we going now? And
- 4:53Speaker 1: the guy says, hmm, maybody try on some clothes. Karina
- 4:57Speaker 1: is walking past them, reading a magazine that but I
- 5:00Speaker 1: cannot read because it's clearly not in English, and she
- 5:03Speaker 1: is very much evesdropping on that couple, and she looks
- 5:05Speaker 1: a little bit pissed off actually. Then she sees something
- 5:09Speaker 1: and we see that it is a dress, I think,
- 5:12Speaker 1: or a skirt in the top. It's hard to see
- 5:14Speaker 1: because there's a reflection on it in a window, like
- 5:17Speaker 1: in a window display. And she smiles like really slightly,
- 5:20Speaker 1: and then gasps as she realizes that the woman inside
- 5:23Speaker 1: is waving at her to come in. She turns bright
- 5:26Speaker 1: red and hides her face in the magazine. The screen
- 5:29Speaker 1: then swipes to a park by a building with a
- 5:31Speaker 1: clock tower. We see THEO who is sitting on a
- 5:34Speaker 1: bench with his sketchbook and he is like using his
- 5:37Speaker 1: pencil to measure the distances between things, like holding it
- 5:41Speaker 1: up so he can see how big things have to
- 5:44Speaker 1: be so we can make them relatively the right size.
- 5:47Speaker 1: And then he goes to draw some more and we
- 5:49Speaker 1: hear someone say oh. THEO looks behind him and there's
- 5:52Speaker 1: this middle aged guy standing there just looking over his shoulder,
- 5:55Speaker 1: which I guess is fine because he's drawing. Sure, And
- 5:58Speaker 1: the man says, you've got a nice touch. Theo's like,
- 6:02Speaker 1: thank you. We then swipe to a building with a
- 6:06Speaker 1: sign on it that says cooking class, and then to
- 6:08Speaker 1: two plates of what might be French toast I think,
- 6:11Speaker 1: with some blueberries and whipped cream on the side, and
- 6:15Speaker 1: anju is staring at them and she looks like she
- 6:18Speaker 1: feels pretty accomplished about her work. This girl's like hey,
- 6:21Speaker 1: and Anjue looks up and the girl says, you only
- 6:24Speaker 1: ever learn to make desserts? Right onju, I don't think
- 6:26Speaker 1: that's true. You'll want to learn normal cooking, or you'll
- 6:29Speaker 1: have problems in the future, are says Future, and the
- 6:33Speaker 1: girl's like, when you cook for your kids, for example,
- 6:37Speaker 1: that is sexist anyway. An's like kids, no way. And
- 6:42Speaker 1: then we wipe to a large, modern looking building and
- 6:47Speaker 1: we see that it is the Imperial Capital Central Library. Yeah,
- 6:51Speaker 1: your library. Sin is walking down the stairs inside, and
- 6:55Speaker 1: we hear a voice say, there he is, and then
- 6:57Speaker 1: a second voice say he's always so cool. Shin looks
- 7:01Speaker 1: over and sees two women staring at him, I guess
- 7:04Speaker 1: at the bottom of the stairs, and they like gasp
- 7:06Speaker 1: and smile, like super embarrassed, and they're like, hi, there.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Shin just kind of blinks and nods because he is
- 7:13Speaker 1: absolutely just me and doesn't even know how to say
- 7:15Speaker 1: anything when people say things to him. Now further into
- 7:19Speaker 1: the library, Shin walks past a book that is kind
- 7:22Speaker 1: of laying on top of like a low shelf that
- 7:24Speaker 1: I think has children's books in it, and it's like
- 7:27Speaker 1: the back cover of the book is facing up and
- 7:29Speaker 1: it has like evergreen trees on it and a moon
- 7:31Speaker 1: and stars, and it also looks like it's probably a
- 7:33Speaker 1: kid's book. It's kind of like large and thin. He
- 7:37Speaker 1: stops and looks back at it, and then he goes
- 7:39Speaker 1: to pick it up, and as he does, this really
- 7:41Speaker 1: small child runs over and tries to reach for the
- 7:44Speaker 1: book but can't because Shin has already picked it up.
- 7:47Speaker 1: And from this angle, which is behind the kid, we
- 7:50Speaker 1: don't know what they look like except they're wearing a
- 7:51Speaker 1: coat and a hat, but they seem pretty upset that
- 7:54Speaker 1: Shin got the book that they wanted. Shin, of course
- 7:57Speaker 1: notices and turns and holds the book out towards them.
- 8:00Speaker 1: We see that it is a little Alba girl wearing glasses,
- 8:04Speaker 1: and she looks so happy when she actually takes the
- 8:06Speaker 1: book from Shin, but then she looks scared, and we
- 8:09Speaker 1: see that Shin has this incredibly cold stare on his face,
- 8:14Speaker 1: and she turns and runs away. I don't think Shin
- 8:18Speaker 1: was trying to be mean. I understand Shin. I get it.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Shin puts his hands in his pockets and continues in
- 8:24Speaker 1: the other direction, and we hear someone say, oh hey,
- 8:28Speaker 1: Shin stops, but he doesn't really turn back, like he
- 8:31Speaker 1: just kind of glances back over his shoulder. And there's
- 8:34Speaker 1: this guy who's also Alba with glasses and he has
- 8:38Speaker 1: the little girl standing next to him, who does not
- 8:41Speaker 1: look happy at all. The guy says, Nina, when someone
- 8:45Speaker 1: does something for you or lets you have something, you
- 8:48Speaker 1: say thank you. He starts like to push Nina towards
- 8:52Speaker 1: Shin and says, sorry, my sister was very rude. Shin
- 8:56Speaker 1: turns slightly more and says, no, it's fine reading it.
- 9:01Speaker 1: The guy's like, it's not fine. You need to have
- 9:04Speaker 1: them learn that at a young age. He pats Nina
- 9:06Speaker 1: on the back and says, come on. Nina is looking
- 9:10Speaker 1: at the floor, clearly upset and scared of Shin, and
- 9:14Speaker 1: just says thank you and runs for it. The guy's like, hey,
- 9:19Speaker 1: oh man, that girl. Thanks, sorry for getting you involved
- 9:23Speaker 1: in that. Shin's like, no, it must be rough being
- 9:26Speaker 1: a big brother. The guy says, I don't know where
- 9:30Speaker 1: she got it from, but she's really shy. He sighs.
- 9:35Speaker 1: This may be rude, but you're here a lot at
- 9:37Speaker 1: this time of day. Don't you have school? Sin's like,
- 9:41Speaker 1: what about you? The guy says, uh. Shin continues, if
- 9:45Speaker 1: you see me a lot, that means you're here a
- 9:47Speaker 1: lot too. The guy says, oh yeah, he looks at
- 9:50Speaker 1: the ground. I don't go to school. I can't. We're
- 9:53Speaker 1: not that wealthy. There's a little pause and then he says,
- 9:58Speaker 1: sorry for just talking to you out of no way.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I'm Eugene Rance. Nice to meet you. Shin says, Shine
- 10:04Speaker 1: knows him. Then we hear Frederica say Frederica Rosenfort. I
- 10:08Speaker 1: didn't even know she was there, but now she's standing
- 10:10Speaker 1: in front of Nina, and Nina says Nina Rance, Shin says,
- 10:14Speaker 1: what are you doing. Frederica's like, I read her book
- 10:18Speaker 1: and she took a liking to me. She makes like
- 10:20Speaker 1: a really weird face, and she says it was a
- 10:23Speaker 1: story for little kids with lots of princes and princesses.
- 10:26Speaker 1: And then Tanina, she says, I'll read you the rest
- 10:29Speaker 1: some other time. Shin to Eugene says sorry, and Eugene's
- 10:33Speaker 1: like your little sister. Shin says, not a chance. Frederica's like, Sinnay,
- 10:38Speaker 1: you're not doing anything right, come with me. Shin stares
- 10:42Speaker 1: at her with so much contempt. Then we see that
- 10:47Speaker 1: Christmas village from earlier, and Frederica is looking around at
- 10:50Speaker 1: like all the stalls, and she's like super happy, and
- 10:53Speaker 1: she gets like really really excited and blushes because she
- 10:56Speaker 1: sees what is possibly the ugliest purple stuffed I have
- 11:00Speaker 1: ever seen. It is so ugly, guys, I was just amazed,
- 11:05Speaker 1: Like it's purple, but then it has like an arm
- 11:07Speaker 1: that's a different color. It's like patchwork a little bit,
- 11:10Speaker 1: which could be really cute. Normally I like that stuff
- 11:12Speaker 1: when it's not perfect and looks handmade. But I just
- 11:15Speaker 1: thought this was literally the ugliest abomination ever. But she's
- 11:19Speaker 1: just in love with it, guys. And the guy who
- 11:23Speaker 1: is working at this booth says, it's a little early,
- 11:26Speaker 1: but why not get it for her as a festival present.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I'll give you a discount since your little sister so cute.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Sin's like, not a chance. Frederica, in a very childish way,
- 11:37Speaker 1: with like some mispronounced words, I think, is like big brother,
- 11:41Speaker 1: I want it. Shin just stares at her, and Fredrika says,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I I want it, and she starts to like blush
- 11:52Speaker 1: so hard that steam is coming off her, and then
- 11:55Speaker 1: she kind of makes a squeal, but Shin looks totally unfazed.
- 12:01Speaker 1: But then we cut to them walking away and she's
- 12:02Speaker 1: holding the bear, so I guess it did work. Frederica
- 12:06Speaker 1: is like you're more gullible than you look. Shinn says,
- 12:10Speaker 1: where did you learn to do that stuff? Frederica kind
- 12:14Speaker 1: of splits off from him, and Shin stops and looks
- 12:17Speaker 1: over to where she went, and she is holding her
- 12:20Speaker 1: hands up to the sky excitedly because it's just started snowing.
- 12:25Speaker 1: We cut to Ern's house, the exterior of it, and
- 12:28Speaker 1: it's still snowing, but it's night now, and Earth is
- 12:31Speaker 1: walking up to it and he chuckles as he passes
- 12:34Speaker 1: like a really cute little snowman that one of them made,
- 12:36Speaker 1: like right by the front steps. Then we transition from
- 12:39Speaker 1: the snowman at night to the morning after snowman, which
- 12:43Speaker 1: just has a little bit more snow on it, but
- 12:45Speaker 1: it looks like it stops snowing now, and we start
- 12:48Speaker 1: to get like still shots of what everyone's doing. So
- 12:51Speaker 1: we have a shot of Brydon carrying some boxes. I
- 12:54Speaker 1: think this is a moving company job that he's doing
- 12:57Speaker 1: a shot of Onjuw in cooking class, Theo standing in
- 13:01Speaker 1: the park with his sketchbook, Korna in a mall, and
- 13:04Speaker 1: then we see Shinn in the library with Eugene waving
- 13:07Speaker 1: to him. We cut to some really really big building,
- 13:12Speaker 1: like really big, Like it's just long, like I think
- 13:15Speaker 1: it's like three stories tall, but it just kind of
- 13:17Speaker 1: wraps around like a central courtyard area. And it is night,
- 13:22Speaker 1: and we hear Ernst say, I want to go home
- 13:24Speaker 1: early tomorrow, so I'll stay a little bit longer tonight.
- 13:27Speaker 1: He's sitting at a desk typing into a laptop and
- 13:29Speaker 1: he says, it's the eve of the Holy Birth tomorrow.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I think you guys should just say Christmas. This woman
- 13:35Speaker 1: who's there says the Republic has a tradition of exchanging
- 13:38Speaker 1: presents as well. Earns this like presence. Huh, that'd be good,
- 13:43Speaker 1: I wonder. Next we see Ryden sitting at a counter
- 13:47Speaker 1: at some sort of restaurant or diner, eating with his
- 13:51Speaker 1: work crew, and we hear Ernst's say they've been here
- 13:54Speaker 1: a month and they've all found friends and things to do.
- 13:57Speaker 1: We see Karina holding up some clothing in a clothing
- 14:00Speaker 1: store to a mirror and just looking not very happy honestly,
- 14:04Speaker 1: and Ernest continues, they're fitting in well. Then we see
- 14:08Speaker 1: Theo sitting alone in the house with his sketchbook, just
- 14:11Speaker 1: kind of like tapping his pencil onto the paper. Ernest continues, Yes,
- 14:16Speaker 1: it's a good sign that they've made friends. Anju is
- 14:19Speaker 1: looking at the messages in her phone as she stands
- 14:21Speaker 1: at the bus stop, and we hear Ernest say they'll
- 14:24Speaker 1: be fine. Sure, Anju looks so fucking depressed, and Ernest continues,
- 14:31Speaker 1: We're gonna have to find a real path for them
- 14:33Speaker 1: to take in life. When spring rolls around, Shin is
- 14:36Speaker 1: lying in bed. He has a book on his chest
- 14:38Speaker 1: and he's starting to fall asleep and his eyes close,
- 14:42Speaker 1: and the scene fades to black. Shin's hand then appears
- 14:47Speaker 1: in the darkness, and some cherry blossom pedals kind of
- 14:51Speaker 1: falled into it, and we're seeing him from behind, and
- 14:55Speaker 1: also from behind him somewhere, we hear a voice, which
- 14:59Speaker 1: is Kaye's voice, say, I know it's an awful thing
- 15:03Speaker 1: to ask. Shin stirs slightly. Then we see a pair
- 15:07Speaker 1: of army boots walking towards him, and Kaye continues, you've
- 15:12Speaker 1: gone as far as you can go. Now there are
- 15:14Speaker 1: multiple boots walking towards him. You've taken us with you.
- 15:18Speaker 1: We now see Kaye her face and Necker in frame,
- 15:21Speaker 1: but nothing else. She continues, So you should be able
- 15:25Speaker 1: to forget about us. Shin is now slightly peering back
- 15:30Speaker 1: over his shoulder, but not completely turning around, and cherry
- 15:34Speaker 1: blossoms are drifting through this blank space, and Kaye continues,
- 15:39Speaker 1: but knowing that it still hurts. The cherry blossom pedal
- 15:43Speaker 1: that landed on Shin's hand just melts into a puddle.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Kaye says, staying here hurts. A pair of hands enter
- 15:55Speaker 1: the frame and pick up Kaye's head. Kay says, I'm dead.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I want to go home. The hands carry her head,
- 16:06Speaker 1: just her head off screen. The background kind of morphs
- 16:10Speaker 1: into this whitish color, and Shin's bandana drifts across it,
- 16:15Speaker 1: and Kaye says, so Shin. The bandana reaches Shin. We
- 16:21Speaker 1: have this weird kind of above shot where it wraps
- 16:24Speaker 1: around his neck. She continues, our reaper. Shin finally turns
- 16:29Speaker 1: around and he sees a bunch of Legion mechs with
- 16:34Speaker 1: just a ton of his fallen comrades standing in front
- 16:37Speaker 1: of them. They're all holding their own heads in their arms.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Their eyes are glowing blue. I guess like the Legion's
- 16:44Speaker 1: eyes do. And Kaye continues from her head, which she
- 16:48Speaker 1: is cradling in her arms. Please save us. Shin stares
- 16:54Speaker 1: at them from the train tracks. Now the background behind
- 16:59Speaker 1: him is most white except for the shadows of the Juggernauts,
- 17:02Speaker 1: like they're off in the distance, like they're in a fog.
- 17:05Speaker 1: He then raises his arm towards his fallen comrades, like
- 17:08Speaker 1: he's gripping something, and then he pulls it back, realizing
- 17:12Speaker 1: that he no longer has his gun. He closes his
- 17:15Speaker 1: eyes briefly and then opens them with resolve, and we
- 17:20Speaker 1: hear a voice say, Shin. We cut to him opening
- 17:23Speaker 1: his eyes, but with the same basic shot from the dream.
- 17:26Speaker 1: He's in the library and looks like he fell asleep
- 17:28Speaker 1: sitting up, and Eugene is sitting at a table like
- 17:31Speaker 1: directly behind him, and he says, I know the sunlight's
- 17:35Speaker 1: nice and warm, but the librarians will get mad at
- 17:37Speaker 1: you for sleeping. I don't think so. I think the
- 17:39Speaker 1: librarians would just think he was having a nice dream.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Eugene continues, did you stay up too late? We see
- 17:44Speaker 1: that it is December twenty fourth, twenty one forty eighth,
- 17:47Speaker 1: so they've only been with Ernst for like twenty three
- 17:49Speaker 1: days at this point, and Shinn says no. Eugene kind
- 17:53Speaker 1: of laughs, and he's like, it's about time. Want to
- 17:56Speaker 1: go see he stands. Shin's like what. Eugene picks up
- 18:01Speaker 1: his jacket and starts to put it on. The Military's
- 18:04Speaker 1: Holy Birth Festival leave parade. Fuck, that's so many words
- 18:08Speaker 1: just say Christmas. This year it's the Western Theatre's twenty
- 18:11Speaker 1: fourth Mechanized Infantry Division, so we should be able to
- 18:15Speaker 1: see the latest model of third generation Vanigander. Shin just
- 18:18Speaker 1: kind of exhales, and Eugene's like, Oh, are you not interested?
- 18:23Speaker 1: Shin says no, it's just you don't seem like the
- 18:27Speaker 1: type who'd care about that. Eugene's like, oh, no, I'm
- 18:30Speaker 1: actually joining the service. Shin's eyes twitch, and Eugene continues,
- 18:36Speaker 1: I volunteered for the Mechanized Infantry, so I wanted to
- 18:39Speaker 1: see them. I thought you were the same. You were
- 18:42Speaker 1: looking at military documents yesterday and the day before, so
- 18:45Speaker 1: I just thought you were trying to get into the
- 18:46Speaker 1: Special Officers School too. There's a pause, and then he's like,
- 18:50Speaker 1: this place is peaceful, but they're fighting at the border
- 18:52Speaker 1: and we don't know when the war's gonna come here.
- 18:55Speaker 1: If there's something I can do to prevent that to
- 18:57Speaker 1: protect my sister, I want to do it, and someday
- 19:00Speaker 1: I want my little sister to see the ocean. So
- 19:02Speaker 1: I need this war to end. Shin's like yeah. Nina
- 19:07Speaker 1: walks over to where Eugene is standing, and Eugene says, Okay,
- 19:10Speaker 1: we're off, come if you're curious. They start to walk away,
- 19:14Speaker 1: and as they do, Nina glances back at Shin, but
- 19:19Speaker 1: she still looks very scared of him, and Shin very
- 19:24Speaker 1: quietly says, I've rested too long. Fuck Sin, It's been
- 19:29Speaker 1: twenty three days, but it's not very long. He looks
- 19:33Speaker 1: down at the book in front of him on the
- 19:35Speaker 1: table and we see that it is The Skull Night. Yeah.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Just can't get away from it, huh. We get this
- 19:42Speaker 1: really cool shot of Shin looking to the side. There's
- 19:45Speaker 1: a window right behind him, and there are flags outside,
- 19:48Speaker 1: and there's one like right behind him flapping in the breeze,
- 19:50Speaker 1: and it just looks pretty cool. And then we go
- 19:52Speaker 1: to the title card episode thirteen. It's too late. It
- 19:56Speaker 1: is December twenty fourth, twenty one forty eight. Still we
- 20:00Speaker 1: see Karina, who is like walking past this really large
- 20:03Speaker 1: crowd of people who are gathered right along the street.
- 20:06Speaker 1: She notices two girls standing next to each other and
- 20:09Speaker 1: then glances at herself in the window and realizes she's
- 20:12Speaker 1: wearing the exact same outphit as one of the girls,
- 20:15Speaker 1: and she looked kind of sad about it, because I
- 20:17Speaker 1: guess she wants to be cool and original. And then
- 20:20Speaker 1: she realizes that the window that she's looking at her
- 20:23Speaker 1: reflection in is that shop again, and the woman is
- 20:26Speaker 1: again motioning for her to come inside. Next, we have
- 20:30Speaker 1: a close up on THEO drawing and we hear Ani
- 20:32Speaker 1: say there you are. We see that THEO is sitting
- 20:35Speaker 1: inside a gazebo in a park right near this like
- 20:38Speaker 1: really fucked up building, like part of the third and
- 20:41Speaker 1: the fourth floors are just gone, like a bomb hit
- 20:43Speaker 1: it maybe so there's just like a big open hole.
- 20:46Speaker 1: So obviously it's not used anymore. And Anjie was walking
- 20:49Speaker 1: over to the gazebo and she says, you said you
- 20:51Speaker 1: were going to Republic Plaza, so I thought you might
- 20:53Speaker 1: be here. You thought he'd be in the place he
- 20:57Speaker 1: told you he'd be, Like why is that a part
- 20:58Speaker 1: of the dialogue? THEO says, yeah, what is it AND's like,
- 21:03Speaker 1: I want your help with something. I need to carry
- 21:05Speaker 1: some things, but I can't do it all on my own.
- 21:08Speaker 1: THEO says, sure, need anyone else. Shin's probably free Shin
- 21:13Speaker 1: and he stops because he was about to tap on
- 21:15Speaker 1: his power rade, but they don't have them anymore. He
- 21:17Speaker 1: just kind of groans, and Andrew laughs and points down
- 21:20Speaker 1: at the bench. THEO reaches down and he says, these
- 21:24Speaker 1: things sure are convenient, aren't they. He grabs his cell
- 21:27Speaker 1: phone and it's like, even though you got to carry
- 21:30Speaker 1: them everywhere, and they don't work if the other person
- 21:31Speaker 1: turns them off. And he's staring down at the phone
- 21:34Speaker 1: and says, and you gotta punch in the number every
- 21:36Speaker 1: time or register its and On's like you preferred the implants.
- 21:41Speaker 1: THEO just kind of huffs and taps the phone to
- 21:43Speaker 1: his ear, and we hear it kind of ring in
- 21:46Speaker 1: the background throughout this scene as he's trying to get
- 21:48Speaker 1: in touch with Shin, and Andrew says, it's weird how
- 21:51Speaker 1: the Federacy wanted those things. She sits down. I know
- 21:54Speaker 1: it's odd to say after we use them for so long,
- 21:56Speaker 1: but we basically knew nothing about them. Theo's like, well,
- 22:00Speaker 1: they're probably useful on the battlefield. These things get jammed easily.
- 22:04Speaker 1: I guess. As for the Juggernauts, I don't know what
- 22:06Speaker 1: they expect to learn from those walking coffins. Andre's like,
- 22:11Speaker 1: there wasn't anything I wanted to take from them. Theo's
- 22:14Speaker 1: like same, he's not answering. He lowers his head dramatically
- 22:18Speaker 1: in sighs on you laughs again, and THEO says, you know,
- 22:22Speaker 1: sh'd wanted his scarf and pistol back or its ended
- 22:25Speaker 1: up holding onto the pistol though, oh that's his Andrew says,
- 22:31Speaker 1: it's the pistol that he used to end everyone's lives.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Sin never let anyone else do it. Geez. THEO size
- 22:38Speaker 1: I'm sure he had to because of the voices, but
- 22:40Speaker 1: I don't think it would kill him to take it easier.
- 22:42Speaker 1: On's like, there's probably times when being trapped by it
- 22:45Speaker 1: helped him survive. THEO stares at her and a big
- 22:49Speaker 1: clump of snow falls from the roof of the gazebo
- 22:51Speaker 1: behind him, and on U continues, in a way, it
- 22:56Speaker 1: kept him alive, maybe having the goal of killing his
- 22:59Speaker 1: brother kept here with us without that. Now he's some
- 23:04Speaker 1: more snow falls off the roof, this time behind Anju,
- 23:07Speaker 1: and she doesn't finish her sentence. Yeah, Theo's like, this place,
- 23:13Speaker 1: Republic Plaza is where the Republic's embassy was. Oh okay,
- 23:17Speaker 1: so that's probably the blown up building that's like on
- 23:20Speaker 1: the side over there. Also in front of that building,
- 23:23Speaker 1: I guess there's a statue that only has feet left.
- 23:26Speaker 1: So we got blown up too, I assume. THEO continues,
- 23:29Speaker 1: I didn't know that when I came here. Maybe I'm
- 23:31Speaker 1: still trapped too. We finally get to see his sketchbook,
- 23:35Speaker 1: and it's just kind of doodles. I mean, nice doodles,
- 23:39Speaker 1: but it's not a complete picture. There's Shins Undertaker logo,
- 23:43Speaker 1: his laughing Fox, the Cat, Tepi, Fido, Aldrich, I think
- 23:49Speaker 1: Kujo maybe, and possibly Kaye. He draws really well, but
- 23:53Speaker 1: they look more realistic, so I'm not one hundred percent
- 23:56Speaker 1: sure that that's who they are. Anju just kind of
- 23:59Speaker 1: looks at him sad, and THEO continues, what about you,
- 24:02Speaker 1: onjuw Andrew says, hmmm. Theo's like, you were supposed to
- 24:07Speaker 1: die on that battlefield, but you're still alive. They want
- 24:09Speaker 1: us to think about our futures. Have you decided on yours.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Onju sighs and looks at the ground. I thought about
- 24:15Speaker 1: it a lot, but it's always the same, the things
- 24:18Speaker 1: we should be doing. She kind of laughs, you're asking
- 24:21Speaker 1: me now, isn't it too late for that? Theo's like right.
- 24:25Speaker 1: There's a pause, and they both kind of look very introspective,
- 24:28Speaker 1: and then Onu claps her hands together and says anyway,
- 24:31Speaker 1: and Theo's like, oh right, and they both stand up.
- 24:34Speaker 1: THEO starts to dial on his phone again and says,
- 24:37Speaker 1: come on, shin, we got to a mechanized foot hitting
- 24:40Speaker 1: the ground hard, and they both look over like mildly shocked,
- 24:45Speaker 1: and we see on like a big giant screen a
- 24:50Speaker 1: broadcast of a bunch of mechs walking down a street
- 24:53Speaker 1: to music like parade music, obviously, and then we cut
- 24:57Speaker 1: to those mechs walking past crowds on the per root
- 25:00Speaker 1: and they're like kind of dark gray color and they
- 25:03Speaker 1: have little red bands around their arms and legs and
- 25:06Speaker 1: big gun. We see the side of Rydon's work truck.
- 25:10Speaker 1: It's kind of driving away from the parade, or possibly
- 25:13Speaker 1: stopped at a light because it's not moving right now,
- 25:16Speaker 1: and the guy with the brown hair has his head
- 25:18Speaker 1: kind of like out of the truck looking behind him,
- 25:20Speaker 1: and he's like, wow, the Vaniganders are huge. The mohawk guy,
- 25:24Speaker 1: who is like half out the door as well, is like,
- 25:26Speaker 1: how do you drive one of those? Ryden has not
- 25:30Speaker 1: turned around. He is just staring forward kind of solemnly,
- 25:33Speaker 1: but his hand has kind of started to mimic the
- 25:36Speaker 1: controls of the Juggernauts, and the mohawky continues, I'd love
- 25:41Speaker 1: to give it a try. Another Vanigander foot hits the
- 25:44Speaker 1: ground and we see Karina's eyes like totally wide and
- 25:49Speaker 1: filled with terror. She is standing in that clothing store
- 25:53Speaker 1: and the woman who's showing her a blue dress and
- 25:56Speaker 1: also a pink dress says, how about this one. I'm
- 25:59Speaker 1: sure you'd look in it, and then she very quietly says,
- 26:03Speaker 1: if you wait until next week, it'll be twenty percent off.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Carna says next week. The woman's like yeah, and she's
- 26:11Speaker 1: like really really hovering over Karina, and Carna says, I
- 26:17Speaker 1: don't really know. She's totally avoiding this woman's glance, and
- 26:22Speaker 1: the woman kind of frowns and then is like, come
- 26:24Speaker 1: back if you change your mind. Carna says, okay. The
- 26:28Speaker 1: woman walks off to help somebody else, and Karina glances
- 26:31Speaker 1: back towards the door at the mach parade, and then
- 26:36Speaker 1: we see like a gun salute, and we cut to Frederica,
- 26:40Speaker 1: who is lying on the couch hugging that bear abomination
- 26:44Speaker 1: and groaning. Rydan is standing in the doorway and he says,
- 26:47Speaker 1: what's wrong. Frederica's like ride in welcome back. She tries
- 26:52Speaker 1: to get up, but you can't. She just kind of
- 26:54Speaker 1: falls back down, and Rydan's like, where's Teresa. Frederica says
- 26:58Speaker 1: she went shopping and she hasn't come back Rightan's like,
- 27:03Speaker 1: no one's here, so Frederica cuts him off. I'm really hungry.
- 27:09Speaker 1: She looks incredibly pathetic, and ryd In looks kind of disgusted,
- 27:14Speaker 1: and Fredrika starts to blush, but she's also like sweating,
- 27:17Speaker 1: like she doesn't know if she's doing a good enough
- 27:19Speaker 1: job and being pathetic. I don't know, and she says
- 27:23Speaker 1: I'm and Ryan's like just wait. He walks away. Next
- 27:28Speaker 1: we see an omelet I think probably on a plate,
- 27:31Speaker 1: and Frederica's like, it's delicious, and she has just a
- 27:35Speaker 1: mouth full of omelet and she says, you have my
- 27:37Speaker 1: gratitude ride in. Rydan is sitting at the table with her,
- 27:40Speaker 1: and he's like yeah yeah. Frederica says, weren't you drinking
- 27:45Speaker 1: with your work buddies today right? AND's like, oh, I canceled.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Frederica kind of stops mid chew and stares at him,
- 27:53Speaker 1: and Rydan says, You're lucky I was the one who
- 27:55Speaker 1: came home Marley. If it was Shin, things would have
- 27:57Speaker 1: turned out quite differently. He points to the omelet. Frederica's like, what, so,
- 28:02Speaker 1: Shine is a bad cook? Brighten's like, not bad, he
- 28:05Speaker 1: just doesn't care and it shows he only cares about fighting.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Frederica says, I see sounds like a man who dedicated
- 28:12Speaker 1: everything to killing his brother. What. She takes a bite right,
- 28:17Speaker 1: and it's like, how do you know about Shin's brother?
- 28:21Speaker 1: Frederica gasps well, and then Shin just basically materializes in
- 28:27Speaker 1: the doorway with a bag of groceries and says, eat
- 28:29Speaker 1: your carrots too. He sets the bag down on the
- 28:32Speaker 1: table and I guess the omelet has carrots in it,
- 28:35Speaker 1: because I'm really confused. Frederica gasps and says, how did
- 28:39Speaker 1: you get here without making any noise? Shin's just like habit.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Frederica says, habit, stop it. It scares me. Anju and
- 28:48Speaker 1: THEO are also in the room now with bags, and
- 28:50Speaker 1: I think THEO is carrying a box, and Rydon says,
- 28:54Speaker 1: what's all this stuff Onju's like, we went shopping with
- 28:57Speaker 1: Teresa and the car broke down. And at the same time,
- 29:00Speaker 1: Shin is talking to Fredrika and says, just get used
- 29:04Speaker 1: to it, it won't be a problem. Frederica is squealing
- 29:07Speaker 1: at Shin's response, and THEO says, and since there was
- 29:10Speaker 1: a lot to carry, and says, we looked, and Theo's
- 29:15Speaker 1: like we called him. He looks over at Shin. Shin
- 29:18Speaker 1: holds a bottle of looks like alcohol up to show
- 29:21Speaker 1: that he has helped. Brandon looks kind of maybe perplexed,
- 29:24Speaker 1: and he's just like, welcome home. We now see Corna
- 29:27Speaker 1: walking out in the hallway of the house with her
- 29:30Speaker 1: hand on her missing pararade and we hear it Teresa
- 29:34Speaker 1: say thank you everyone. Theo's like, I wasn't doing anything anyway.
- 29:38Speaker 1: You should have asked from the start. Corna lowers her
- 29:41Speaker 1: hand and she just looks totally lost emotionally, that is,
- 29:46Speaker 1: And Teresa says I'm a servant here. I can't expect
- 29:49Speaker 1: the master's children to carry my things. Theo's like, no, no,
- 29:53Speaker 1: he's not our dad. Karina kind of winces, and then
- 29:56Speaker 1: Teresa says, oh, welcome home. Karna like yeah, she's standing
- 30:02Speaker 1: in the doorway of the dining room now. Then Teresa
- 30:05Speaker 1: walks into the kitchen, probably with one of the bags,
- 30:08Speaker 1: and AJ's like, what's wrong. Corna says, well, she looks
- 30:13Speaker 1: at the floor. Everyone is just quietly waiting for her
- 30:16Speaker 1: to speak, and then she says, I think I've seen
- 30:19Speaker 1: everything I need to see. Andrew ride in a theo smile.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Shein's like you've had enough. Karna, who is now smiling
- 30:28Speaker 1: at least a little bit, says yeah, let's go back
- 30:30Speaker 1: where we belong. Oh, sure, that's fine. We see the
- 30:36Speaker 1: exterior again, and the light comes on outside on the steps,
- 30:40Speaker 1: and the snowman is now gone, and in it's placed,
- 30:42Speaker 1: some daisies have started to grow. We cut too ernest,
- 30:45Speaker 1: I think, pulling a blanket off of something, probably the
- 30:48Speaker 1: presence in the room. And he's wearing like a pink
- 30:51Speaker 1: party hat, or maybe it's supposed to be a Santa hat.
- 30:53Speaker 1: I'm not really sure. And he says why They're all
- 30:58Speaker 1: together in the living room and there's a Christmas tree
- 31:01Speaker 1: and gifts and everything, and THEO says, why right, AND's like,
- 31:05Speaker 1: We're sorry for being suspicious at first. This is a
- 31:08Speaker 1: good place. So we stayed here a little too long.
- 31:12Speaker 1: And J's like, we had our rest and we want
- 31:14Speaker 1: to keep going. Karina says, so we're going back. Ernest
- 31:19Speaker 1: is like, but why go back to the battlefield. THEO says,
- 31:23Speaker 1: we said we wanted to from the start, and Ernest
- 31:26Speaker 1: says like, yeah, but Shin cuts him off. We were lucky,
- 31:30Speaker 1: that's all he stands. If we use that as an
- 31:32Speaker 1: excuse to stay here, what can we say to all
- 31:35Speaker 1: those who died fighting until the end. At this point,
- 31:37Speaker 1: they're all standing up. Shin continues, we can't pretend to
- 31:41Speaker 1: be at peace when we're not. Even if we're gonna
- 31:43Speaker 1: die either way, we can choose how If we're gonna
- 31:46Speaker 1: die someday, we'll fight to the end. That's the life
- 31:49Speaker 1: we chose. Please don't take that from us. Ernest is
- 31:53Speaker 1: like just shaking his head, and he's like, that's not true.
- 31:55Speaker 1: It's not you made it here because you fought to
- 31:57Speaker 1: the end. You have the right to enjoy your reward.
- 32:01Speaker 1: That's what your comrades would want. It's not something to
- 32:04Speaker 1: be ashamed of. Theo's eyes narrow, Frederica says silence. Ernst
- 32:09Speaker 1: Ernest looks over at her. She continues, they finally escaped
- 32:13Speaker 1: a cage of oppression, and now you want to trap
- 32:15Speaker 1: them in a cage of pity. WHOA, you're not so
- 32:18Speaker 1: stupid as to miss that. That would make you the
- 32:20Speaker 1: same as the republic. Ernst kind of groans, and he
- 32:23Speaker 1: looks upset. She continues, they're not young, ignorant children. If
- 32:28Speaker 1: they want to go, let them go. She's really interesting, Honestly,
- 32:33Speaker 1: why is she making so much sense? Anyway? Rydan puts
- 32:38Speaker 1: his hands on the back of his neck and glances
- 32:40Speaker 1: over at Chin and says, and it wouldn't do to
- 32:43Speaker 1: say you're going on ahead and only to have someone
- 32:44Speaker 1: else go first. Ooh, Lena. Ernst sighs and puts his
- 32:51Speaker 1: hands on his hips and says, all right. He takes
- 32:54Speaker 1: off his party hat. But on one condition, you need
- 32:58Speaker 1: to go through this special Officers trainings and become officers. Otherwise, no,
- 33:03Speaker 1: when you leave the service, officers will have more opportunities
- 33:06Speaker 1: than enlisted soldiers. I want you to have as many
- 33:09Speaker 1: choices as possible available to you when this war's over.
- 33:12Speaker 1: THEO kind of looks off to the side, and he
- 33:13Speaker 1: says when the war's over, and she's like, I never
- 33:18Speaker 1: thought about that. Er says, this war will end someday.
- 33:23Speaker 1: If you want to fight till the end, you'll need
- 33:25Speaker 1: to think about what will happen when it's over. They
- 33:29Speaker 1: all sit back down, and Frederica says, you should be
- 33:32Speaker 1: able to accept that. I understand that you've got nothing
- 33:34Speaker 1: but your pride to keep you together, but that's no
- 33:36Speaker 1: way for a complete human being to live. What the
- 33:39Speaker 1: fuck Frederica, She stands, it's blood and soil that makes
- 33:43Speaker 1: a person who they are. If you have neither, and
- 33:45Speaker 1: try to define yourself by just who you personally are,
- 33:47Speaker 1: she's walking over them. When you lose sight of that,
- 33:50Speaker 1: you'll quickly fall apart. Never forget that. Sin's like, who
- 33:55Speaker 1: are you talking to, princess? What the fuck? I guess
- 33:58Speaker 1: he remembers from his vision, Frederica's like, I'm not a princess.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Ernest tries to stop her, but he's not fast enough,
- 34:05Speaker 1: and she says, my true name is Augusta Frederica adele Adler. Hey,
- 34:11Speaker 1: we share a last name, the last empress of the
- 34:14Speaker 1: Empire of giod WHOA. She looks like she's ten. I
- 34:19Speaker 1: don't know if that's possible. We now have a really
- 34:22Speaker 1: cool shot of her standing in front of the fireplace
- 34:25Speaker 1: and just fire burning behind her, and she continues, who
- 34:29Speaker 1: ordered the legion to invade the rest of the continent
- 34:31Speaker 1: ten years ago? Huh? What was she like two when
- 34:37Speaker 1: she did that? I don't think that counts. She continues,
- 34:40Speaker 1: I'm the one who took your families and homes from you.
- 34:43Speaker 1: If there's anything you want to say to me, go ahead,
- 34:46Speaker 1: right and puts his hands on his knees. I don't
- 34:48Speaker 1: know if you're the last empress or whatever, but it
- 34:51Speaker 1: was the republic that took everything away from us. We're
- 34:54Speaker 1: not gonna suddenly forget that now. Don't insult us. Also,
- 34:58Speaker 1: how old were you ten years ago? Exactly? Frederica kind
- 35:03Speaker 1: of gasps, and she's like, I'm sorry. She grips her
- 35:07Speaker 1: dress tightly with her hands and continues, I admire your pride,
- 35:10Speaker 1: so let me make a request of you. Eighty six,
- 35:13Speaker 1: we see the flowers growing outside again, and now it
- 35:16Speaker 1: is January seventh, twenty one, forty nine, and we hear
- 35:20Speaker 1: Frederica say, if you're going back to the battlefields. She
- 35:25Speaker 1: comes outside wearing a military uniform and she's standing on
- 35:28Speaker 1: the steps with her hands on her hips, still holding
- 35:31Speaker 1: that abomination of a bear, and she says, take me
- 35:34Speaker 1: with you. We got back to now in the living room,
- 35:37Speaker 1: and everyone's like, huh, Frederica says, and help me destroy
- 35:42Speaker 1: my night's ghost. Sen's like he was taken by the Legion.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Frederica says, yes, the legion who attacks you just before
- 35:51Speaker 1: you reach this country. Sen's like, how do you know?
- 35:55Speaker 1: Frederica says, the power of the blood I inherited allows
- 35:59Speaker 1: me to see glimpses of the president past, of those
- 36:01Speaker 1: I meet. Oh, we see Shin reflected in her eye,
- 36:05Speaker 1: and then her eye turns bright red for a second
- 36:07Speaker 1: and then back to normal, and then we cut to
- 36:09Speaker 1: Shin standing in the dark, I think, in his room
- 36:12Speaker 1: and he flinches and he has cut his finger looks
- 36:15Speaker 1: like a little stab wound, like he stabbed it with
- 36:18Speaker 1: a pin or something, and it's bleeding. And we hear
- 36:20Speaker 1: Fredrika say, the wound your brother gave you hurt didn't it.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Shin pulls back his hand and we see the raised
- 36:27Speaker 1: piece of scrap metals just kind of lying on his
- 36:30Speaker 1: bed in a plastic bag. Now, and then we go
- 36:32Speaker 1: back to now again in the living room and Shin
- 36:35Speaker 1: is standing and just staring at her, and Fredrika says,
- 36:40Speaker 1: I'm sorry I saw, but seeing is all I can do.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I can't save Kria alone. We now see Shin in
- 36:46Speaker 1: his bedroom putting his arm through the sleeve of a
- 36:49Speaker 1: new uniform, and we hear Fredrika say, so please help me.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Shin picks up his bandana and raise piece of juggernauts,
- 36:59Speaker 1: and Frederica continues like the weather you saved and who
- 37:02Speaker 1: saved you? In turn back to the living room, Fredrika says,
- 37:07Speaker 1: save my night. Shin places the piece of scrap metal
- 37:11Speaker 1: into his pocket and kind of smiles. Then we go
- 37:14Speaker 1: to the ending theme, which is al Camila by Rigo Lily.
- 37:18Speaker 1: It is my favorite ending song. I love this song
- 37:23Speaker 1: mostly probably because I can understand some of the words.
- 37:26Speaker 1: It says oh yasumi seki and oh ya sumi e seki,
- 37:30Speaker 1: so good night world, good night other worlds. But then
- 37:34Speaker 1: it also says syonara, and it's like really upsetting to me.
- 37:36Speaker 1: I really really like the song. That's all I got
- 37:38Speaker 1: about that. So the ending theme is very similar to
- 37:41Speaker 1: the way things were set up last Core, where it's
- 37:44Speaker 1: like a picture that's slightly in stop motion and it's
- 37:48Speaker 1: like one color and then there's a part of it
- 37:50Speaker 1: that's in a different color. So with this ending we
- 37:52Speaker 1: have I guess, five different pictures. So first we see
- 37:55Speaker 1: ride In with his crew as they're watching the parade
- 37:58Speaker 1: and it's just kind of in this bidish Sapia color.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Then we see Correna in Sapia on a blue background.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Then we see THEO sitting in the gazebo in Sapia
- 38:07Speaker 1: and his notebook is like really deep blue. Then on
- 38:11Speaker 1: Ju in the gazebo in Sapia and a couple walking
- 38:14Speaker 1: behind them in blue, and then we get that really
- 38:16Speaker 1: cool shot of Shin looking to the side as that
- 38:18Speaker 1: flag flies behind him and he is in blue and
- 38:21Speaker 1: the flag is red. The flag, by the way, kind
- 38:23Speaker 1: of just looks like it's an extension of his bandana.
- 38:27Speaker 1: So pretty cool. That's over, and I believe the ending
- 38:31Speaker 1: theme is still playing here, and we see Shin walking
- 38:35Speaker 1: down the front steps of Ernst's house, and the rest
- 38:39Speaker 1: of the group is already outside in uniform waiting for him.
- 38:42Speaker 1: They're all wearing like really dark blue navy uniforms, except
- 38:45Speaker 1: for Frederica, who is obviously coming. Her uniform is white
- 38:48Speaker 1: with like navy blue accents, and Fredrika is waving at
- 38:52Speaker 1: him and is like, shin, hurry up. Ernst and Teresa
- 38:55Speaker 1: are standing in front of the door, and Ernest says,
- 38:58Speaker 1: have a good trip, Teresa about and Frederica is like,
- 39:01Speaker 1: we're off. They all turn and we end as we
- 39:06Speaker 1: see one of their feet stepping off the ground to
- 39:09Speaker 1: move forward, and that's it. Yeay, okay. Closing thoughts, I
- 39:14Speaker 1: thought that was a pretty good episode, much slower and
- 39:17Speaker 1: different than we're used to, so it's actually probably one
- 39:20Speaker 1: of my least favorite of the season. I guess. It's
- 39:24Speaker 1: just a little bit slow and contemplative, but not in
- 39:26Speaker 1: a bad way. And it was really interesting to see
- 39:28Speaker 1: how everybody dealt with having quote unquote normal lives, I
- 39:32Speaker 1: guess because they were very very clearly not happy. And
- 39:36Speaker 1: I love Ernest going like, oh, they all made friends
- 39:38Speaker 1: and they're doing things. It's like, no, actually, they're alone
- 39:41Speaker 1: a lot. It kind of looks like the only one
- 39:44Speaker 1: who actually was hanging out with other people was ride
- 39:48Speaker 1: In with his like work buddies. But everyone else seemed
- 39:51Speaker 1: like totally alone. And I guess maybe Onju because she
- 39:54Speaker 1: had all those people texting her. But they weren't happy either.
- 39:57Speaker 1: It's not like they were having a good time. You know.
- 40:00Speaker 1: They come from such a different world than these kids
- 40:02Speaker 1: that are their ages in the Federacy that, like, I
- 40:06Speaker 1: can't imagine that there's much that they could have in common.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Oh and I guess Shin had Eugene too, like he
- 40:12Speaker 1: actually was hanging out with Eugene sort of maybe, But
- 40:17Speaker 1: they just seemed really really isolated and like they couldn't
- 40:22Speaker 1: get what they want because they didn't expect to have
- 40:25Speaker 1: a future, so they don't have any idea of what
- 40:28Speaker 1: they should even be doing, like at all. And I
- 40:31Speaker 1: think that we've seen that in the past with Shin,
- 40:33Speaker 1: who seemed kind of like just an empty shell more
- 40:37Speaker 1: or less after he killed his brother or his brother's legion.
- 40:41Speaker 1: That is, because he just didn't have a goal anymore.
- 40:44Speaker 1: But we hadn't really seen it with the rest of Spearhead,
- 40:47Speaker 1: and now we kind of are. There's just nothing they
- 40:50Speaker 1: didn't expect to live this long. They've never made any plans.
- 40:53Speaker 1: They don't even know where to start. So it makes
- 40:57Speaker 1: sense that they would just go back to war because
- 41:00Speaker 1: because they're so changed and this is what they've gotten
- 41:04Speaker 1: used to, and it's not even like they're going back
- 41:06Speaker 1: to their regular country and they have connections, like they're
- 41:09Speaker 1: just totally alone in this except for each other. So
- 41:12Speaker 1: I get it. It's probably not a great idea because
- 41:16Speaker 1: they could get killed, but they like no longer fit
- 41:19Speaker 1: in a normal society, which isn't good, honestly, And I
- 41:24Speaker 1: think that's what that book was about that Chin was
- 41:27Speaker 1: reading all quite on the Western Front. I remember back
- 41:31Speaker 1: when he was at the Spearhead Barracks. So yeah, I
- 41:36Speaker 1: don't know, they're not happy. I don't know that war
- 41:41Speaker 1: is going to make them happy because it's scary and
- 41:45Speaker 1: they're going back to what they were originally forced into.
- 41:47Speaker 1: And I do think that Frederica's point about forcing them
- 41:52Speaker 1: into a cage of pity was pretty cool, like, yeah,
- 41:55Speaker 1: of course they should be able to decide what they
- 41:57Speaker 1: want to do. They're almost adults or else now, so
- 42:01Speaker 1: if they want to be part of this battle, I mean,
- 42:04Speaker 1: I want to say, like that's very heroic and self
- 42:08Speaker 1: sacrificing of them, but I don't really think it is.
- 42:11Speaker 1: I think they just want to go back where things
- 42:12Speaker 1: make sense, and that's pretty fucked up. I also wanted
- 42:16Speaker 1: to talk like briefly about Chin's dream with Kaye holding
- 42:20Speaker 1: her head and everyone holding their heads. Fucking Shin like
- 42:25Speaker 1: he's just shouldering so much. I mean, they all are,
- 42:28Speaker 1: but like Shin is, he feels like he is responsible
- 42:32Speaker 1: for all of these souls and for saving all of
- 42:34Speaker 1: them because he's the only one who can hear them,
- 42:36Speaker 1: I guess, and that's terrible. I mean, he needs like
- 42:40Speaker 1: some just real downtime without his brain constantly doing this
- 42:44Speaker 1: to him, and he can't get it. You know, he's
- 42:47Speaker 1: just constantly exhausted from hearing all of these voices saying
- 42:52Speaker 1: that they're hurt or they want to go home. It's
- 42:55Speaker 1: real fucked up. So I understand why he wants to
- 42:58Speaker 1: go back, because he will always hear them until they
- 43:02Speaker 1: no longer exist. So he's never going to be able
- 43:05Speaker 1: to get away from war and from the suffering that
- 43:09Speaker 1: was caused by the Republic, So it makes sense to
- 43:13Speaker 1: just go right back in there and try to end
- 43:16Speaker 1: as much of it as possible, but I wish he
- 43:19Speaker 1: didn't feel like it was all on him because it's
- 43:22Speaker 1: not a great place to be mentally. Also, Frederica can
- 43:26Speaker 1: see people's pasts. Yay, I guess. And also, really, how
- 43:30Speaker 1: old is she supposed to be because she does not
- 43:33Speaker 1: look like she's twenty, she doesn't look like she's fifteen.
- 43:36Speaker 1: So we're talking how old was she? Maybe at the
- 43:39Speaker 1: most maybe she's thirteen or fourteen, So she was three
- 43:42Speaker 1: or four and she's the one who said invade these
- 43:45Speaker 1: other countries. I'm pretty sure that's not what happened, I hope.
- 43:48Speaker 1: And if it is what happened and someone took her guidance,
- 43:52Speaker 1: they're still responsible because you don't listen to a four
- 43:56Speaker 1: year old when they say go destroy other countries, right,
- 44:00Speaker 1: So interesting, I'm gonna try to look into like how
- 44:03Speaker 1: old she's supposed to be because I don't understand. Okay,
- 44:06Speaker 1: I'm back, I just looked it up. She's ten. She's ten,
- 44:09Speaker 1: so she couldn't have done anything ten years ago because
- 44:12Speaker 1: she was not alive or she was just a little
- 44:14Speaker 1: bit alive. She could not even talk, So that's all bullshit. Honestly,
- 44:19Speaker 1: I guess she just feels responsible because it's her lineage says, yeah,
- 44:24Speaker 1: there's no way that makes any sense. And also Frederica,
- 44:30Speaker 1: I mean, I think there's some really cool things about her,
- 44:32Speaker 1: like she's really childish, but then she'll like say really
- 44:35Speaker 1: profound things, which I guess probably comes from seeing people's
- 44:38Speaker 1: pasts all the time. But I am in the camp
- 44:41Speaker 1: of people who don't really like her or want her
- 44:44Speaker 1: as a character in this I just find her kind
- 44:46Speaker 1: of annoying. And I get it, she's ten. She's annoying,
- 44:49Speaker 1: but it doesn't mean I want to see it, which
- 44:53Speaker 1: kind of sucks. I think it's like, one of the
- 44:54Speaker 1: only things I don't like about this core is there's
- 44:57Speaker 1: just so much Frederica. But whatever, that's just my dumb opinion.
- 45:01Speaker 1: And I know there are people who really like her probably,
- 45:04Speaker 1: and I don't think she's a terribly written character. I
- 45:06Speaker 1: just kind of wish she wasn't there. So yeah, So
- 45:09Speaker 1: I guess we're gonna go see them go to Special
- 45:12Speaker 1: Officer School and join the military, which should be really
- 45:16Speaker 1: a breeze for them to get through since they've done
- 45:18Speaker 1: all of this before. And I guess they're gonna go
- 45:22Speaker 1: back to fighting yay. It's kind of hard because it's
- 45:26Speaker 1: kind of like I don't really want them to have
- 45:28Speaker 1: to fight anymore. I feel like Ernest like go and
- 45:31Speaker 1: like live normal lives, but it's not what they want,
- 45:35Speaker 1: so we just gotta let them be them and go
- 45:38Speaker 1: get themselves into more trouble and pain. Anyway, I think
- 45:41Speaker 1: that's really all I got. Still not feeling very good,
- 45:45Speaker 1: and I don't know why. Please help me, not you.
- 45:49Speaker 1: You don't have to help me. You don't even know
- 45:51Speaker 1: me except for this talking thing that I do. But
- 45:53Speaker 1: I hope this episode sounded okay because I'm just real stressed.
- 45:57Speaker 1: And also it was really hard to read because there's
- 45:59Speaker 1: like all all of these weird things where there's juxtapositions
- 46:02Speaker 1: where like you've got things switching back and forth, like
- 46:05Speaker 1: at the end, we're like have like three different scenes
- 46:07Speaker 1: going on at the same time. So I like, hope
- 46:10Speaker 1: it's coming out okay. So I am going to go
- 46:13Speaker 1: now because I'm all stressed out and scared, and I
- 46:17Speaker 1: hope you have a really good whatever and I will
- 46:21Speaker 1: see you next week as long as something terrible doesn't happen,
- 46:25Speaker 1: which it might, so yeah, I don't know. Later webs
