- 2:09week's episode comes from December third of nineteen forty four and the tonnle is Death
- 2:15plays the lead. What's the matter? What is it? It's another case
- 2:31for Nick Carter, Master Detective. Yes, it's another case for that most
- 2:39famous of all men hunters, the detective whose ability at solving crime is unequaled
- 2:44in the history of detective fiction. Nick Carter, Master Detective, resented by
- 2:49the three great Linux Home Bright News, Linux clear Glass, Linux Cream Polish,
- 2:53and Linux self Polishing Wax created by ACME America's great producer of me Quality
- 3:00Paints. Today's curious adventure, Death plays the lead on Nick Carter and the
- 3:10mystery of the Accidental Clue. In just a moment, we'll hear how Nick
- 3:19used an accidental clue to solve a murder at a US Army camp and break
- 3:22up a spy ring. But first ask yourself this, do folks have fun
- 3:27when they visit. You make your home a more enjoyable place to be with

- 4:15Tone the Miracle Wall Finish. Now for today's mysterious adventure with Nick Cautter.
- 4:24Somewhere in these United States is an Army training camp, and somewhere in that
- 4:28camp is the USO Theater, which, on account of the rain pouring down
- 4:30outside, is unusually well filled. As our story opens, Nick Carter with
- 4:35his two assistants, Patsy and Scubby, are hurrying backstage in the theater and
- 4:40the company of their host, Major Wayne right through here. Nick, gosh,
- 4:45what a mob book, Scavy, you're a most soldious backstage here the
- 4:48night? Yeah, quiet, quiet, please quiet? Where's mister Dexter?
- 4:55Right here? Major? I'm glad you could get here so soon. This
- 4:58is bad business, mister Dexter, very bad business. Who was it?
- 5:00Was killed? My leading lady, Margot Craven. She was shot in her
- 5:04dressing room right in here, mister Dexter. This is Nick Carter. He
- 5:09just happened to be here visiting me today. But I'm going to ask him
- 5:11to take over the investigation for me. We're lucky to have such a great
- 5:15detective here when we need him. Thank you, Dexter. I suppose you
- 5:18tell me what you know about this right from the beginning, of course,
- 5:23it really started right after the first act. I was in my office when
- 5:27Ross Craven, Margot's husband, came in. Well next to you've done it
- 5:32again. It's a hit. You really like the show, Craven, I
- 5:35certainly do, But say, what's the matter with my wife? Why what
- 5:40do you mean? Is anything the matter with Margot? I just stopped in
- 5:43the dressing room and she was crying, and she swears she won't go on
- 5:46for the second act. She will if I have to drag her on.
- 5:49Those boys will be disappointed. You go out front, Craven, and don't
- 5:53worry. I'll go back and see her, all right, Dexter, You
- 5:56know sometimes I think she should have married you instead of me. You certainly
- 5:59can have better than I can. Did he mean anything special by that,
- 6:03dex term. It's no secret that I've been in love with Margot for years,
- 6:08but she married Craven and that was the end of it for me.
- 6:11I see, suppose you go on with your story. I started backstage,
- 6:15and just as I got to the passageway where Margo's dressing room was, I
- 6:18heard a shot. I ran to her room, opened the door, and
- 6:23found her lying on the floor. I just had time to be sure she
- 6:27was dead when Patty came in. Who's Patty? Petty Bird my assistant,
- 6:30my best friend, and my pal and protector. He entered the dressing room
- 6:34right behind me. Is she is she dead? Yes? Yes, she's
- 6:42dead, Patty? Well did she kill herself? I don't know. That
- 6:46must be the gun on the floor. There a pearl handled thirty two,
- 6:49and I think I have seen her have it before. Now yeah, oh
- 6:54hey, she went the window open. It's raining in I'd better close it.
- 6:58That's lucky you want in here with her. When it happened, I
- 7:00saw you crossing backstage. The shot was fired. But I wish someone else
- 7:04had seen you? Meaning what? Meaning that lots of people knew you was
- 7:08in love with her, that it nearly broke up when she married Craven,
- 7:12that's all. They might think you killed her because it was jealous. That's
- 7:15absurd, Miss Craven, five of it. Well, Patty, there's one
- 7:19call she'll never answer, never again. Gosh, mister Dexter. That's I've
- 7:26been examining the gun, Nick. There no prints on it at all I
- 7:29see next to You have any idea why missus Craven refused to go on for
- 7:33the second act tonight? Why she? I caldn't tell you? Why?
- 7:38Yes? And who are you? That is? Kyl Shaw our star Shaw?
- 7:43What do you mean by saying you could tell why Margot Craven was in
- 7:46love with Dexter? She was eating her heart out for him said if she
- 7:49couldn't have him, she'd wrecked the show. That's why she wouldn't go on
- 7:53for the second act. And I'll bet he went in to argue with her.
- 7:56Maybe he threatened her and she read the gun for protection. They struggled
- 7:59for it and it went off, killing her. Do you know that that
- 8:01happened? No? But I know Margo and I know Dexter. Look here,
- 8:03Shaw, dex won't defend himself. I'll do it for him. Why
- 8:07don't you tell mister Carter and the truth that you were in love with Margo
- 8:09yourself, that you've been threatened to kill her ever since she married Craven.
- 8:13Sometimes she teased you and you got some madge almost went crazy. Are you
- 8:16insinuating that I killed? I am and write to your face, what's the
- 8:18matter here? What's happen? Margo? Margo husband, mister Carter, Your
- 8:26wife's dead, mister Craven dead. You didn't kill her, did your Dexter?
- 8:31We don't know who killed her yet, we aren't even certain she didn't
- 8:35kill herself. I was afraid Dexter might have done it. Yes, it's
- 8:37a rotten temper and it would have been my fault because I asked him to
- 8:41come back here and argue with her. Mister Craven, do you know anyone
- 8:43who might have had reason to kill her? Yes, Carl Shaw. He
- 8:48had a filthy temper and Margo was always teasing him. You lie, Maybe
- 8:50you killed Margot yourself. Why do you say that, mister sharp Craven didn't
- 8:54love his wife. He wanted to be rid of her. Told me that's
- 8:56a lie, and you know it. Mister Craven. Why have you been
- 9:00since you talked to Dexter before? You certainly didn't get as soaked as you
- 9:03are now sitting in a theater. Well, no, I went out and
- 9:07walked around to cool off. Then I saw the soldiers leaving the theater,
- 9:11so I came back to find out what happened. Nick, It moved too
- 9:13suddenly, as soon as you can look at the window, the window,
- 9:16what oh, how is that? Nick? Now it's gone. Now there
- 9:22was a face at the window staring in at us. Measure, there's nothing
- 9:24but rain there now, scubby Here, Nick, take a look outside,
- 9:28see if you can find any footprints. The MUD's so thick out there.
- 9:31You want to be able to find some good ones? Sure thing, Nick,
- 9:33I'll be right back. Well, Major, I'm afraid we'll have to
- 9:35ask the whole company to stay here in town tonight. Accommodations may not be
- 9:39too good, but they'll have to do until the case is cleared up.
- 9:43Looks to me as if any one of several people might all equally well be
- 9:46guilty. We'll see that they're all taken care of. Nick. There are
- 9:48tracks, all right, Nick, but there's nobody there now. I'll put
- 9:52a guard out there for the night. Nick. We can take a better
- 9:54look at the princes in the morning. That's all, folks, but don't
- 9:56go anywhere until I say so, Room two eleven. The clerks should be
- 10:13about here, are weird hight Dick? Did I? I didn't have a
- 10:24drink, Thanks Craven. I don't drink. I don't ever want to be
- 10:30sober again. I'm sober. I remember all the rocky little things I did
- 10:35to Margot. She should have married Dexter. He's always been the kind of
- 10:39man that I wanted to be. He never was, but I beat him
- 10:43just once when I married Margot. And brother evens things up, does So
- 10:50that's why you married him, because Dexter loved her and you wanted to beat
- 10:52him at something. Yeah, I don't tell anybody, Craven. Did you
- 10:58kill Margot? No? Why should I kill her? You were outside and
- 11:03could have shot her through the window. She was shut with her own gun,
- 11:05and you admitted you'd been in a dressing room just before you talk to
- 11:09Dexter. You could have taken her gun then, So now you're trying to
- 11:13frame me for her word. I am not trying to frame anyone. I'm
- 11:16trying to find out the truth. Well, why don't you ask Dexter?
- 11:20Then he was the first one in her room. He found her, or
- 11:24asked karl Shaw. He hated her, I loved her. I guess they're
- 11:31the same thing sometimes. Sorry to see you in this condition, Craven.
- 11:37I'll talk to you again when you're more yourself than you are now. Good
- 11:41night, Raven? Are Nick Goby and even wait to hear in the lobby
- 11:48corn? Yeah? Did you get any more dope? Nicodemus? Too many
- 11:52suspects and too few clues. Can we do anything for you, Nick?
- 11:56No? Not just now, passy. He's getting late. I think I'll
- 11:58turn in. Well, off to my room then if nobody mine. Okay,
- 12:01Bessie, see you're bright and early in the morning. Good night,
- 12:03Patsy, old kid, got lots of nice, pretty beauty sleep. It
- 12:07wouldn't do you any harm to get some of that duties think you're talking about.
- 12:09You need them more than I do. That's what you think I got,
- 12:13all kind. I guess I'll put my car in the garage I left
- 12:16to standing outside when I drove down from the theater. He Nick, I've
- 12:20got something important to tell you. How about going to your room or we
- 12:22can talk? Ay? Sure, thanks, gby. Just as soon as
- 12:26I got the car put away for the night, I'll be right with you.
- 12:28Then one take me about a couple of minutes, right, Nick,
- 12:31I'll wait for you here in the lobby. Good evening, mister kada Keep
- 12:41your mouth closed, misster Kadai, and climb in behind the wheels. Get
- 12:46a moment hoey one gun tonight. Eh, that's all okay, good going
- 12:54very well. You're giving the orders for now. Drive straight out main street,
- 13:01mister Kadam. Oh, so it's you. You know me. Don't
- 13:07know your name, but I do know that you're the man I saw staring
- 13:09in the dressing room window earlier this evening. Yes, you'll drive straight ahead
- 13:15for about five miles. When you come to a cross road, you'll turn
- 13:18left and continue on. I'll give you for the directions. Then pull up
- 13:33behind that car gets head on the left you. Yes, I haven't had
- 13:43time to search him yet, but he must have him. The MP didn't
- 13:46get him. We know that. If you'd only tell me what this is
- 13:48all about, maybe I could help you. Step out of your car.
- 13:52Please, It's very simple. Margo Craven got some papers which didn't belong to
- 13:58her, got them by accident. They belong to us, and we want
- 14:01them. Papers. White papers are nothing that concerns you. We're sorry we
- 14:05have to drag you into this. I admire your work greatly, but we
- 14:09think you may have those documents and we must have them. They wait a
- 14:13bit. Is that why she was killed because she had them? No,
- 14:16mister Carter, they had nothing to do with her murder, nothing at all.
- 14:20Come on, search. You may be done with it. I don't
- 14:22enjoy standing out here in the rain, of course, permit me to be
- 14:26sure you have no papers on you, mister Carter. Go ahead. Craven's
- 14:31been taken care of. I searched Carter's car while I waited for him.
- 14:33So if he doesn't have the money, I don't know where they are.
- 14:35Well they are not on him, mister Carter, on your word of honor,
- 14:41you know nothing about our papers? I do not. How much does
- 14:45that mean? Oh with mister Carter, it means a great deal. Well,
- 14:50thank you. That's a bit unexpected, but very welcome. If we
- 14:52hind later that you've lied, we shall of course kill you. Now.
- 14:58You may get back your car. Watch out, we're still covering you with
- 15:03our guns. It's better now, what now I take over. We're gonna
- 15:09drive away and leave you here. I'm sure you won't try to follow us.
- 15:15And why not, because you're going to sleep right now miles from the
- 15:28little army camp town, alone and unconscious in his car. What's going to
- 15:33happen to Nick? Now? Are the many just met mixed up in the
- 15:35murder? Or was Margot Craven killed by one of her so called friends.

- 17:07now back to our story. Slugged unconscious by a pair of desperate men,
- 17:11Nick lay slumped over the wheel of his car for several long minutes. Then,
- 17:15when the sharp stabs of pain which accompanied his return to consciousness had died
- 17:18down slightly, he slowly drove back to the hotel where Scubby was waiting for
- 17:23him. Taking Scubby to his room, he told him what had happened.
- 17:26Well, I'll be dog gun, Nick, you're the luckiest guy in the
- 17:30world. What's lucky about getting your head split open? I mean, you're
- 17:33lucky that you didn't stop and talk with me before you went to put your
- 17:37car away. Here. Oh, what's this? So I'm not mistaken?
- 17:41Those are the papers your friends wanted. Where'd you get them? Scubby?
- 17:44I found them behind the dressing table in Margot's room. You did? When
- 17:48was that? While you were busy talking to Dexter, I was looking around
- 17:51and well, I ran into the well. Why didn't you say something about
- 17:52it? Then? I thought you might like to go through them before we
- 17:55turned them over to the police. This is the first time since then that
- 17:57I've had a chance to give them to you alone. Hmmm, Scubby,
- 18:07these are in code. I rather think they should be turned over to Major
- 18:11Wayne at the camp. Well, why give them to him? Use your
- 18:14head, scubby. They're in code, I said, And Margot got them
- 18:15at an army camp. These were given to her by mistake, and that
- 18:19can mean only one thing, as I see it, spies. Gosh,
- 18:26you really think so I do. Come on, I'll get my car out
- 18:29of the garage and take them out to camp right now and turn them over
- 18:32to Major Wayne. Maybe these papers will help us catch the killer of Margot
- 18:36Craven. Oh gosh, it's still raining. What a night, Yes,
- 18:52what a night in more ways than one. So we meet again, mistakes.
- 18:56What did you see you again? If by way, you would be
- 19:00very quiet, I won't hesitate to shoot you both. If I had to
- 19:03keep your hand in plain sight and walk over to the little door at the
- 19:07far end of the bar room, carefully and slowly, shall we walk nick
- 19:12slowly and carefully, as the gentleman says, I guess we'd better sca well,
- 19:27mister Carter, I've told you I was not a man who could safely
- 19:32be lied to. I didn't lie to you, mister Carter. Those papers
- 19:36we are looking for in your overcoat pocket right now, please give them to
- 19:41me at once. Certainly, thank you for a man of sense. I
- 19:45regret it is a little late for having sense. Here are the others now,
- 19:49oh well, it's about time you were coming, Nick, so I
- 19:53see sure, will this is fine? You get the peoples from him?
- 19:59Yes, well, thanks to you. It wasn't our fault that my sister
- 20:02was assigned to the wrong dressing room. I had a devil of a time
- 20:04getting things fixed up so she could change. But runs through the papers through
- 20:07the window before Margot got her things out. She had never seen my sister,
- 20:11so the mistake was natural. Mistakes are never natural, and mistakes are
- 20:14never tolerated. I'll be happy when that man Catter dies. He's too clever
- 20:18to be allowed at large. Yes, you're right, but he's such a
- 20:21prominent man his death will make quite a stir. It's unfortunate. It will
- 20:25break up the show unit which we have so carefully organized. Now, sure
- 20:30you will have to form a new unit of your own and take it around
- 20:33to the different camps. The work must go on, of course, when
- 20:37we take care of Katter. As soon as we've finished our work here,
- 20:40we're going to pack up and move on to another town. On the way.
- 20:44We shall dispose of mister Carter and his able assistant right now, we
- 20:48may see about the contents of these papers. They must go out at once,
- 20:52and we better tie up these two guys so to be sure they still
- 20:53be here when we get back. Yes, Mike, tie them both hand
- 20:57and foot and leave them back at the bar. We'll take care of them
- 21:02later. Hey, what are you doing, Nick? We've been wriggling around
- 21:19like that for the last half hour. I'm getting these ropes off my wrist,
- 21:22Gubby, I hope here. How are you coming. I'll have my
- 21:26hands loose in another few minutes. Why are you doing it? Nick?
- 21:30I tried to get my hands free. Gosh, these ropes are too light
- 21:33for me. Hey, what's the secret. The secret's very simple, Scubby.
- 21:38When the ropes were put on us, they were damp. I enlarged
- 21:41my wrist muscles as much as I could, but he tied the rope too
- 21:45tight for me to get out of it. But I found a hot water
- 21:47pipe under the bar here, and I've been drying the ropes out against that.
- 21:52As it dries, the rope is stretching just enough to let me get
- 21:56loose, but I've had to keep wriggling around so as to keep the wet
- 22:00the rope against the hot pipe. Nice worth that, Oh boy, you'll
- 22:03pool these thugs. Yet they only leave us alone just a couple of minutes
- 22:07longer, we'll be out of here. You had better not drive too close
- 22:23to their hangout, Major Wayne, No, I won't, Nick. I'll
- 22:26stop a couple of blocks away, and we'll sneak up on them from there.
- 22:30Sorry, I couldn't arrest them myself and save you the trouble, but
- 22:33I have no official standing in cases of espionage naturally. Quite so, Nick,
- 22:37I'm glad you're going to give me a hand to capture them. Don't
- 22:38forget Paddy and I are here too, Major, of course, Dexer,
- 22:41I'm only too glad that you and Patty happen to be with me when Nick
- 22:45brought me the news. Now we'd better work out a plan of action before
- 22:49we get there. You know the layout, Nick, What do you suggest?
- 22:52I think it'd be a good idea for one of us to knock on
- 22:55the door of the place. Then when it opened, the rest of us
- 22:57will be in hiding just out of side of the door. We'll rush in
- 23:00and take over. We try to rush them from outside, someone may get
- 23:04killed before we can get inside. Good, I'll go ahead and knock at
- 23:07the door. No, Major, let me do that. I'd like that
- 23:11job, Paddy. I can't let you risk yourself like that. That's my
- 23:12job, Please, Major, I want to do it. I got a
- 23:15special reason. But I think it's too dangerous. I can't. I think
- 23:18it's a good idea. Major, Paddy would be just the man for the
- 23:22job. Well, of course, Nick, if you say so, but
- 23:26I do. Thanks, mister Catty, you're a good egg. Well you
- 23:27better stop somewhere and hear Major. This is close enough right now. Give
- 23:36me your attention. Please, we'll hide near the front door of the building,
- 23:41except Patty. You'll go to the door. I'm knocking it. I
- 23:52hope nothing happens to Patty. I can't understand you're wanting him to do that
- 23:56job. I'll explain later. Major, Oh, the dos opening, Well,
- 24:00what do you want? Get your hands up? Come on? Oh
- 24:03that's it, Well drop that gun before you the rest of your come out
- 24:11with your hands up. The building is surrounded. No, we're coming,
- 24:14don't shoot, we get up. Stop shooting. We're coming out, Nick,
- 24:17Nick, Patty's Patty here. See what you can do for Patty,
- 24:18Nick, I'll take care of these enemy spies, all right, Ma Joe?
- 24:23How bad is it? Patty? Greatnessn't it? Lest good? We
- 24:30shouldn't have let you do this, Patty? What I wanted to, Dix.
- 24:32I wanted to why Patty? Why? I think I can answer that,
- 24:36dexter Y Nick continue, he knows what's he talking about? Nick?
- 24:41What does you know? Patty? You killed Margot? Craven didn't do I
- 24:45do? Now I'm dying, just like I hope the good. You killed
- 24:51Margot? But why, Patty? Why? Because Patty was afraid that she'd
- 24:55wreck your business, in your life. She was a kind of a woman
- 24:57who had to rule everybody with whom she came in contact. And she could
- 25:00have ruled you in the end because you loved her. Unless I'm mistaken,
- 25:06Patty tried to argue her out of his sit down strike. There was a
- 25:08fight and she was killed accidentally, Brat, and then Patty jumped out the
- 25:12window, ran outside and came back in just as you went into the dressing
- 25:15room from backstage, right, Patty, Yeah, I didn't know happy to
- 25:21do it, but I felt you did. Thanks for letting me go first,
- 25:26m Patty, had you put me a nude debt forever? But Nick,
- 25:36how did you know that he killed a craven woman? I thought it
- 25:38would have been sure her husband or were maybe even texted O Scuby for one
- 25:42thing. And there were those footprints in the garden outside her window you found
- 25:45where a man had stood on tiptoes to look in, you know, but
- 25:48you didn't notice that there were also definite marks of where someone had jumped out
- 25:52the window. And Patty was the only one in the dressing room when we
- 25:55got there who had on his shoes the black dirt that was used in making
- 25:59those flower gardens. Oh, I see. Also I could see he just
- 26:02coming out of the rain and then chew scubby. You remember that Dexter said
- 26:04that the first thing Patty did when he followed Dexter into the dressing room was
- 26:07to rush over and close the window. Yeah. Well, Dexter hadn't even
- 26:11noticed it was open, but Patty was more interested in getting it closed and
- 26:15examining the body of the woman because he already knew she was dead. Yeah,
- 26:19I see, Well, it's simple when you explained it. And another
- 26:22thing, if we call those papers you gave me the ones in code?
- 26:26Yeah? Sure, Well, as soon as you gave them to me,
- 26:27I knew that I had seen them in Patty's pocket when we first entered the
- 26:30dressing room. Yeah, yes, I recognized the big blot of ink in
- 26:33the upper corner, but it didn't mean much to me until I heard Shaw
- 26:37say that the papers had been delivered to Margo, my mistake, that they
- 26:41should have gone to his sister, who was one of the spy ring operating
- 26:42through the camp show. I knew then that Patty had picked them up in
- 26:47Margo's room when he was there before she was shot. He probably picked him
- 26:51up without knowing what they were, and as soon as he found they were
- 26:52in code, wanted to get rid of them again, so he left them
- 26:56where U Scubby found them. But couldn't he have been a spy himself,
- 26:59No, because if he was, he'd never have left those valuable papers where
- 27:03they could fall into the wrong hands. And finally, when I heard him
- 27:06say that he'd do anything in the world or help Dexter, it all added
- 27:10up. He wasn't interested in hurting Margot. He just wanted to keep her
- 27:14from hurting his friend and his god, Dexter, and if that meant her
- 27:18death, that's what it had to be. He loved Dexter more than he
- 27:22loved his own life. Well, you sound almost as if you condle this
- 27:26murder, Nick, I never condone murder, Scubby, You know that,
- 27:30but I understand it, and sometimes I feel sorry for the murderer. And
- 27:33in this case, I'm happy that the murderer won't have to stand trial before
- 27:37an earthly judge. The courts above may treat him more leniently than our earthly
- 27:42courts would. In just a more Nick and Patsy will bring you a preview
- 28:00of next week's exciting case. But before they do, consider this. When

- 29:27Well, Nick, would you care to give us a hint as to your
- 29:30next week's story? Yes, Ken, I'll give you just a hand or
- 29:33two, and that's all. A gangster dead on the beach of an exclusive
- 29:37Long Island estate, a dope peddler shot to keep him from talking, Hindu
- 29:42servant who knew too much and not enough, a movie star in the making,
- 29:47and plenty of trouble for Nick on the way, on the way where
- 29:51to the solution. Naturally, Nick never goes anywhere else once he gets started
- 29:53on a case. Okay, I'll be waiting for that solution he digs up
- 29:56in this one. What do you call it? Nick? Murdered by a
- 29:59seeing the Mystery of the Death on the Beach, and no more on until
- 30:03next week. So long, So long, everybody, and so long to
- 30:06both of you. We'll be looking forward to seeing you again next week.
- 30:18Next week, at the same time, listen to another curious experience of Nick
- 30:21Carter Master Detective entitled Murder by Suicide or Nick Carter and the Mystery of the
- 30:29Death on the Beach. Nick Carter Master Detective, a copyright feature of Street
- 30:37and Smith Publications Incorporated, stars Long Clark as Nick with Helen Chortis Patsy.
- 30:42Original music is played by Lou White, and the programs are written and directed
- 30:47by Jack McGregor. Nick Carter Master Detective is presented at this time and over
- 30:53these same stations each week by the three Great Linux Home BRIGHTNWS, Linx,
- 31:00Clear Glass, Vanish Linux Cream Polish and Linux Self Polishing Wax, created by
- 31:04Acme America is great producer of Acme Fine quality paints. This is Ken Powell
- 31:11speaking for the thousands of Linux dealers all over America and saying so long until
- 31:15next week. This is mutual welcome back. I guess I should have to
- 31:37say at an end of an episode like that that if you enjoy World War
- 31:41two programs, I encourage you to check out The War, The War Dot,
- 31:45Great Detectives Dot. And actually very few of the Nick Carter episodes we've
- 31:51heard have directly involved the war in some way. This I think is the
- 32:00second one. There was another one from the forty three in which they were
- 32:05dealing with somebody who was running a con game around the war, but this
- 32:09one the actual aspiring. So like a lot of shows, Nick Carter took
- 32:15kind of a escapist approach rather than one where we were constantly confronting spies and
- 32:23Fifth Columnist. By the way, the two episodes that we that we didn't
- 32:30that were missing uh from the prior weeks was Unexplained Death and the Black Rose
- 32:37Murders. I also will say that I like the way that they did the
- 32:44they did the keys for the next episode. In some cases they really gave
- 32:49away a lot of plot as to what was going to happen, and which
- 32:57I guess isn't much of a problem for me because I don't listen into the
- 33:00programs one after another, but I could imagine giving away quite a bit.
- 33:05That said, as interesting as that show was, that one is also lost.
- 33:13So we'll have another program next week, and well that will turn to
- 33:16some listener comments and feedback. Kevin emails in and says, I just finished
- 33:22this week's Nick Carter episode. With the exception of last week, I've been
- 33:25wondering what's making him so grumpy these days, especially to Patsy. Didn't start
- 33:30out that way. I hope it doesn't turn into a Stanley Holmes chemistry.
- 33:37I like to see detectives take good care of their sidekicks, although I guess
- 33:40everybody knows they're not going to walk out on them anyway. Still, well,
- 33:45I enjoy them anyway, Thanks as always for the excellent show. Well,
- 33:49I don't know if I would say Nick Carter is has been cranky.
- 33:58I think the one thing the relationship with Patsy, and it does kind of
- 34:01go back and forth, is there can be points where Nick Carter can be
- 34:12in a very paternalistic and protective or also very paternalistic in demanding and it can
- 34:20be hard to find the line in that, but yeah, it's definitely not
- 34:24heading into the John Stanley Sherlock Holmes situation. And truth be told, that
- 34:31show makes it hard for me to call any detective while all that grumpy.
- 34:37All right, Well, that will do it for today. We will be
- 34:39back tomorrow with yours truly Johnny Doller, and we'll be back next Thursday with
- 34:46another episode of Nick Carter. Speaking of Nick Carter, I did want to
- 34:51mention another thank you if we have on the listener support campaign. We've added
- 34:54some DVD movies that we can order for those of you in the US and
- 34:59Canada, and one option we have is to order some of the programs with
- 35:04the current or soon to be detective programs that we're adding to the series,
- 35:08and that one option is the Nick Carter movie starring Walter Pigeon. Will send
- 35:14you all three of those nineteen thirty nine forty movies with your donation of one
- 35:21hundred dollars or more, and we have a whole lot of other options there.
