- 0:00Speaker 1: This is seven Tor Boy, The Mark Simon Show starts.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Now, Hey, it's Friday. We've got through the week. We
- 0:10Speaker 2: got a lot to get to. Today, we'll get to
- 0:13Speaker 2: the loss of our great friend, the beloved Ernie and
- 0:16Speaker 2: ASTs we'll talk about him. We'll get to we'll give
- 0:18Speaker 2: you the very latest on the war in a couple
- 0:21Speaker 2: of minutes. We'll get to the save act that, we'll
- 0:24Speaker 2: get to crazy Mom, Donnie, he's doing even more crazy stuff.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Speaking of crazy, that sheriff in the Nancy Guthrie case
- 0:33Speaker 2: sounding a little nuts and a little suspicious. We'll get
- 0:36Speaker 2: to all of that coming up, and let's get you
- 0:40Speaker 2: the latest on the war. RAN's new leader, son of
- 0:43Speaker 2: the Iahtola, the new Iahtola, is now believed to be
- 0:47Speaker 2: not only wounded we kept saying as a facial lacerations,
- 0:50Speaker 2: it's now believed he's probably disfigured. In fact, Secretary Hexath
- 0:56Speaker 2: on camera this morning, daring him to appear on camera
- 1:00Speaker 2: and let's see what he looks like. We know he
- 1:01Speaker 2: lost a leg, we know he's been in a coma,
- 1:04Speaker 2: severe facial lacerations, but Hexith saying, and he would have
- 1:08Speaker 2: more intelligence on this than anybody that he has disfigured,
- 1:12Speaker 2: and that's why written statements are coming out, and he
- 1:16Speaker 2: has not spoken publicly about anything. So we'll see what
- 1:20Speaker 2: happens with that. Straits of horn Moose will probably get reopened,
- 1:25Speaker 2: probably next week. The attacks on these tankers are done
- 1:29Speaker 2: in two ways. One by drones which are unmanned and
- 1:34Speaker 2: can be directed from far away drones with explosives. And
- 1:37Speaker 2: the other thing is these speedboats loaded with explosives that
- 1:41Speaker 2: hit the tanker. Those are also unmanned and like a drone,
- 1:45Speaker 2: can be controlled from many miles away. So you got
- 1:47Speaker 2: to get rid of all this stuff. They're getting rid
- 1:49Speaker 2: of those speedboats one by one. You just got to
- 1:51Speaker 2: take them all out. As far as drones, and these
- 1:54Speaker 2: are the most dangerous. Missiles are easier to blow up
- 2:00Speaker 2: or stop because we can see the launchers, we can
- 2:02Speaker 2: see where they're launched from. We've taken out ninety percent
- 2:05Speaker 2: of the missiles. Ninety percent of the missiles are gone.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Drones are tougher because you can't see them. They might
- 2:11Speaker 2: be hidden in a basement in a garage until they're
- 2:14Speaker 2: suddenly pulled out. But it's believed we've taken out ninety
- 2:17Speaker 2: five percent of their drones. Ran yesterday released a picture,
- 2:24Speaker 2: a photograph of a warehouse that they had filled with
- 2:28Speaker 2: the state of the art drones, hundreds and hundreds of
- 2:31Speaker 2: drones in this warehouse. They released the pictures, I guess
- 2:34Speaker 2: to intimidate us, but they're probably not thinking in the
- 2:38Speaker 2: pictures that they released. There's probably some tags in there,
- 2:42Speaker 2: meta tags data somewhere in the pictures that might give
- 2:45Speaker 2: a hint as to where they're located. So not too
- 2:49Speaker 2: smart on their part. Now, you've got to remember something,
- 2:51Speaker 2: at the end of a war, at the end of
- 2:53Speaker 2: a war, casualties go way way up. Always at the
- 2:58Speaker 2: end of the war with Japan, in the last few weeks,
- 3:00Speaker 2: they went crazy fighting back. It's a last dying breath,
- 3:04Speaker 2: last gasp, and they killed more Americans in those last
- 3:07Speaker 2: couple of weeks. Something happened in Afghanistan. So when you
- 3:10Speaker 2: see it ramping up, when you see more returned fire,
- 3:14Speaker 2: more casual that's when you know they're in their last
- 3:16Speaker 2: throws and dying. We lost four servicemen yesterday. And now
- 3:21Speaker 2: this was not in a combat or fire or friendly fire.
- 3:24Speaker 2: It was a refueling plane that crashed, not in Iran,
- 3:28Speaker 2: but in Iraq. They still haven't figured out what caused
- 3:30Speaker 2: the crash, but we lost four people. They would bring
- 3:34Speaker 2: it up to about ten service people lost in the
- 3:38Speaker 2: last few weeks, which is horrible. But you also have
- 3:40Speaker 2: to remember, and people aren't aware of this, we lose
- 3:43Speaker 2: a lot of servicemen and women without war, just in
- 3:47Speaker 2: training accidents, about thirty five a year. That's like three
- 3:50Speaker 2: a month that we lose. It happens all the time
- 3:53Speaker 2: with war without war, but it's just just terrible. They're
- 3:58Speaker 2: less launches every day of missiles and and all that stuff.
- 4:02Speaker 2: They are haven't st the president. We don't know what
- 4:06Speaker 2: it is, but he is talking about unleashing weapons on
- 4:09Speaker 2: Iran that nobody has seen yet. He did that in
- 4:12Speaker 2: Venezuela with those combobulator bombs that just made everybody paralyzed instantly.
- 4:18Speaker 2: So there's apparently some stuff they're gonna unleash at any
- 4:21Speaker 2: point in Iran. And yesterday, it was last night on
- 4:28Speaker 2: X and Twitter that he made that statement. That's got
- 4:31Speaker 2: everybody upset. Now, you got to remember, people that hate
- 4:34Speaker 2: the president, they go nuts when he says these crazy things.
- 4:37Speaker 2: People that love the president back what he's doing. But
- 4:41Speaker 2: then sometimes he'll say something and they'll go, oh God,
- 4:43Speaker 2: why does he have to talk like that? Why does
- 4:45Speaker 2: he have to say things like that? Well, that's the
- 4:47Speaker 2: way he is. He will shoot his mouth off. He's
- 4:51Speaker 2: not a politician. He's totally unfiltered. He will say things
- 4:55Speaker 2: you're not supposed to say. He'll talk in away you're
- 4:57Speaker 2: not supposed to talk. But is the great New York
- 5:00Speaker 2: legend Robert Morgenthaw, who was one of the smartest guys
- 5:04Speaker 2: I ever knew. And we were all together, Donald Trump,
- 5:10Speaker 2: Robert Morganhal, myself, and a whole bunch of people. And
- 5:14Speaker 2: when he'd leave the room, Trump would leave the room.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Sometimes people would say to Morgan, though, what is it
- 5:19Speaker 2: with that? Why does he have to worry? And Morganhal
- 5:22Speaker 2: would always say, and you should always remember this rule
- 5:24Speaker 2: he goes when it comes to Donald. Never listen to
- 5:27Speaker 2: what he says. Just watch what he does. And it's
- 5:31Speaker 2: a good rule. Don't pay attention to anything he says.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Just watch what he does. And if you look back
- 5:35Speaker 2: on his track record, he gets it done, He gets results.
- 5:39Speaker 2: He accomplishes things nobody ever thought would get accomplished. We
- 5:43Speaker 2: were talking about yesterday, every president and politician for fifty
- 5:47Speaker 2: years promised to end our dependency on foreign oil. He
- 5:51Speaker 2: actually got it done. He did it, so he'll get
- 5:54Speaker 2: it done now. The other thing is you got what
- 5:57Speaker 2: they call the pannikins as opposed to Republicans, the Pannicans
- 6:00Speaker 2: who panic every time you were in the middle of something.
- 6:03Speaker 2: You remember when the terriffs were first announced and the
- 6:05Speaker 2: stock market plunged a billion points in five seconds and
- 6:08Speaker 2: everybody was panicking. Well, it not only came right back
- 6:11Speaker 2: two weeks later, but it went to all time highs,
- 6:13Speaker 2: it set new records. So it's the same thing here.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Oil prices will spike. Straits of her moose are closed.
- 6:20Speaker 2: This has happened before with the straits of her moose.
- 6:21Speaker 2: There's a lot of times in the past during wars,
- 6:24Speaker 2: during the Gulf War, during the Iraq War, during this
- 6:27Speaker 2: war where you couldn't get through the straits of her
- 6:29Speaker 2: moose and ships were being attacked and ended up needing
- 6:34Speaker 2: the navy escort. This has happened before. So you'll see
- 6:37Speaker 2: this spike and it'll all get resolved, and it'll spike
- 6:41Speaker 2: will go away. Not only will oil prices come down,
- 6:43Speaker 2: they'll hit all time lows after all of this is
- 6:46Speaker 2: over to another rule to remember, don't follow the big
- 6:52Speaker 2: Washington experts or the media experts when they tell you
- 6:56Speaker 2: about Trump. In fact, a good rule. A lot of
- 6:58Speaker 2: gamblers have figured this out. Whatever the experts tell you,
- 7:02Speaker 2: bet against them. Whatever Trump tells you, bet with them.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Don't go with the experts. And what they tell you
- 7:07Speaker 2: is going to happen, it won't happen. Now, there is
- 7:11Speaker 2: an island called Carg Island. It's a little island, but
- 7:15Speaker 2: it contains almost all of the oil refinery, supplies all
- 7:19Speaker 2: the tanks of Iran. Carg Island is like ninety two
- 7:24Speaker 2: percent of the oil export capability of Iran. Everything is
- 7:29Speaker 2: on Carg Island. We have not hit it. That's a final,
- 7:32Speaker 2: absolute last straw. If we had to. If we took
- 7:36Speaker 2: out carg Island, that is the end of Iran as
- 7:39Speaker 2: far as their economy. It would completely devastate their economy
- 7:43Speaker 2: for decades. So we haven't hit it. We could also
- 7:47Speaker 2: seize it and try to just take it from them,
- 7:49Speaker 2: or we could also just blow it up and that's
- 7:51Speaker 2: the end of any hope of an economy ever ever
- 7:54Speaker 2: coming back in Iran. So kind of crazy that they
- 7:57Speaker 2: put everything on that one island. But the president at
- 8:01Speaker 2: some point will threaten him with carg Island if they
- 8:04Speaker 2: don't get a new regime. The crazy thing he said
- 8:06Speaker 2: today was as she was. Last night he put out
- 8:09Speaker 2: a tweet that Iran was threatening us again, and then
- 8:13Speaker 2: he said on Twitter, this is in writing, way do
- 8:16Speaker 2: you see what they get hit with tomorrow? And his
- 8:19Speaker 2: exact words were, way, do you see what we do
- 8:21Speaker 2: to these deranged scumbags tomorrow. You're not supposed to talk
- 8:26Speaker 2: like that when you're a president. I think the reason
- 8:28Speaker 2: for it was, you know, these old deep state guys,
- 8:32Speaker 2: these Washington swamp people, they're all yelling and screamage. The
- 8:35Speaker 2: messaging is wrong. He's got to have the right messaging.
- 8:37Speaker 2: You really don't. You can have confused, contradictory messaging. It's
- 8:42Speaker 2: actually a great idea because it just confuses the enemy.
- 8:45Speaker 2: You don't want clear messaging because then the enemy knows
- 8:48Speaker 2: where you are, what you're going to do. And when
- 8:51Speaker 2: they say, well, he hasn't explained the purpose that you
- 8:53Speaker 2: don't need to explain the purpose of this. You're talking
- 8:55Speaker 2: about the Iotola, biggest terrorist in the world with his
- 8:58Speaker 2: death to America. Team shirt funding, Hesbala, the hoodies, every terrorist,
- 9:04Speaker 2: everything on it. It's the biggest terrorist on Earth. You
- 9:05Speaker 2: don't have to explain why you took him out. That's
- 9:07Speaker 2: pretty obvious. But you're not supposed to talk like that
- 9:10Speaker 2: with the range scumbag. You're not supposed to use that
- 9:13Speaker 2: kind of language. So what happened about thirty six hours
- 9:17Speaker 2: ago to actually about twenty four hours ago, they got
- 9:20Speaker 2: I don't want to mention names here, but a bunch
- 9:22Speaker 2: of the inner circle of the president got some of
- 9:25Speaker 2: the wisest old Washington hands on how you're supposed to
- 9:29Speaker 2: talk in a situation like this, and the conference to
- 9:33Speaker 2: him in with President Trump to tell him how to
- 9:36Speaker 2: message this, how to address this, how to speak to this.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I mean, these guys told me this. I said, first
- 9:43Speaker 2: of all, this is going to last ten minutes and
- 9:44Speaker 2: they'll forget about it. But also, you know, him will
- 9:47Speaker 2: probably go the opposode. I think that's what happened. This
- 9:49Speaker 2: was a reaction to that conference call, which he didn't
- 9:52Speaker 2: want to hear. So, hey, we'll get to Corey Lewandowski
- 9:55Speaker 2: coming up. He may have some real trouble. Hey, an
- 10:00Speaker 2: asked this, the legendary New York news man. Was one
- 10:03Speaker 2: of the finest people I ever knew. He was the
- 10:06Speaker 2: nicest guy ever. You know that big, smiling, happy, positive
- 10:09Speaker 2: Ernie you saw on TV, Well, that was Ernie off
- 10:12Speaker 2: the air every second.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Every day, everywhere.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Everybody that knew him loved him. Everybody that ever worked
- 10:19Speaker 2: with him loved him. I don't know anybody else you
- 10:21Speaker 2: could say that about, but people loved Ernie Anaskedes. He
- 10:25Speaker 2: was a terrific guy, an excellent newsman. He came to
- 10:28Speaker 2: New York. It was back in the seventies and those
- 10:32Speaker 2: days TV news, local TV news was.
- 10:34Speaker 3: A very big deal.
- 10:36Speaker 2: It's not anymore. Very few people watched the six or
- 10:38Speaker 2: eleven o'clock news. It's not a big deal. They're lucky
- 10:41Speaker 2: if they have a few hundred thousand people watching. But
- 10:44Speaker 2: in those days, six o'clock eleven o'clock news on Channel seven,
- 10:49Speaker 2: Channel four, Channel two, millions of people would watch, and
- 10:52Speaker 2: the anchors were getting millions of dollars a year, and
- 10:55Speaker 2: it was a big deal, and those anchors were of
- 10:58Speaker 2: amazing quality. You go back, you look at can you
- 11:01Speaker 2: name the anchors on Channel two right now? No, who's
- 11:05Speaker 2: the six o'clock news anchor on Channel four. I don't know,
- 11:08Speaker 2: nobody knows. I watch it, I don't know who it is.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Nobody knows weather people, you don't know who they're, nobody
- 11:14Speaker 2: knows who they are.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Nobody.
- 11:17Speaker 2: So back then it was Legends, it was Channel seven,
- 11:20Speaker 2: it was Roger Grimsby and Bill Butell really really really
- 11:24Speaker 2: top top newsman. And then even the rest of the
- 11:27Speaker 2: cast it was Warner wolf on Sports, Storm Field in
- 11:30Speaker 2: the weather. And then the young guy that came in
- 11:33Speaker 2: there to join the group was Ernie Anastes, and he
- 11:37Speaker 2: was everywhere. He was a Channel two for a while,
- 11:38Speaker 2: Channel four, not Channel four, Channel two, Channel seven, then
- 11:42Speaker 2: Channel nine, then Channel five, and.
- 11:46Speaker 3: A great guy in real life.
- 11:48Speaker 2: He had been a DJ when in fact I was
- 11:49Speaker 2: a little kid, I remember hearing this DJ on the air,
- 11:52Speaker 2: Ernie Andrews. I found out later that was Ernie Anasties.
- 11:56Speaker 2: At that time they want am using his name. But
- 11:58Speaker 2: he was an honest, decent broadcaster you could trust. And
- 12:02Speaker 2: he always talked about that.
- 12:04Speaker 4: If you have a sense of your purpose, it doesn't
- 12:06Speaker 4: have to be some lofty thing. It just could be
- 12:08Speaker 4: a sense of this is why I'm here, this is
- 12:10Speaker 4: why I'm here, this is why I live that's right.
- 12:12Speaker 4: I'm making a difference somehow. That's how I feel about
- 12:15Speaker 4: my work.
- 12:15Speaker 2: And you hear the way you talk. You always had
- 12:17Speaker 2: that smile in his voice, that positive smile in his voice.
- 12:20Speaker 4: I'm hoping that maybe, you know, we'll say, Okay, we'll
- 12:22Speaker 4: strike the balance. Let's give them the news, put it
- 12:25Speaker 4: in a right perspective, but also give them some other
- 12:27Speaker 4: positive things to think about, so we can feel that
- 12:29Speaker 4: there is some There's a keyword, hope.
- 12:32Speaker 5: Okay.
- 12:33Speaker 4: If we lose hope, we've lost everything. And I'll say
- 12:36Speaker 4: one last thing, Maya Angelo. She was wonderful and in
- 12:39Speaker 4: terms of like what we do. People may not remember
- 12:42Speaker 4: what you said or what you did, but they'll remember
- 12:45Speaker 4: how you made them feel.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Now here's another thing about and you don't see this anymore,
- 12:51Speaker 2: and you Ernie Assis very well for about I don't know,
- 12:54Speaker 2: thirty years. I probably had lunch with them five million times,
- 12:57Speaker 2: dinner with them a billion times, talk to them trillions
- 13:00Speaker 2: of hours, and yet I still have no idea where
- 13:05Speaker 2: he stood politically. I have no idea if he was
- 13:07Speaker 2: a Democrat or Republican. I don't know if he liked
- 13:10Speaker 2: Trump like he was absolutely neutral. That's the way he's
- 13:14Speaker 2: supposed to be as a newsman. You know him back then,
- 13:19Speaker 2: you really didn't. You know, you could watch Johnny Carson
- 13:22Speaker 2: every night, five nights a week for twenty you didn't
- 13:24Speaker 2: know where he stood politically. You could never tell Jay Leno,
- 13:28Speaker 2: who always did political jokes every night, but you still
- 13:33Speaker 2: you couldn't tell. Is he a Democrat as a republic
- 13:35Speaker 2: couldn't tell. And that's really the way it's supposed to be.
- 13:39Speaker 2: But he was an amazing, amazing guy. Funeral will be
- 13:43Speaker 2: on Monday in Westchester. He lived in Westchester, was in
- 13:47Speaker 2: New York all the time, was here all the time
- 13:48Speaker 2: at w.
- 13:49Speaker 3: O r Hey.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Check out my Instagram. There's some Ernie pictures and some
- 13:52Speaker 2: Ernie video up there. Mark Simone NYC at Instagram and
- 13:58Speaker 2: a lot of great tributes yesterday, day, today, this morning,
- 14:02Speaker 2: just endless tributes to Ernie an Astes, really really great guy.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Remember yesterday were talking about Bill O'Reilly. It was the
- 14:10Speaker 2: day before Bill O'Reilly was on You remember that clip
- 14:12Speaker 2: you've seen that video where the control room screws up
- 14:15Speaker 2: and he's screaming at him and he goes, what, well,
- 14:17Speaker 2: don't live Remember that? And I pointed out, that's every host,
- 14:22Speaker 2: every anchor man ever in television. I eat the nicest ones,
- 14:26Speaker 2: the worst ones. There's always a moment where the control
- 14:28Speaker 2: room is screwing up like crazy and the anchor will
- 14:31Speaker 2: start yelling and cursing at it. It's happens not all
- 14:34Speaker 2: the time, but once in a while. Every host, every host,
- 14:38Speaker 2: and anchor has done that at some point, except if
- 14:44Speaker 2: there's one guy that didn't do it. I think it
- 14:48Speaker 2: was I don't think he's ever yelled at anybody ever.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Maybe Regius, maybe Regis too, But those are at least
- 14:54Speaker 2: the one exception was amazing. We'll take some calls in
- 14:57Speaker 2: a minute. Eight hundred three to two one zero z
- 15:00Speaker 2: seven ten is the number if you want to talk

- 16:24Speaker 6: You're doing good?
- 16:25Speaker 7: Thanks? Mark?
- 16:26Speaker 5: Oh yeah.
- 16:26Speaker 8: Uh.
- 16:27Speaker 9: The operations in Ivan, the military, NAPLE and Air Force
- 16:31Speaker 9: operations have been going great. My concern is about the
- 16:35Speaker 9: There was a report last week about California being hit
- 16:39Speaker 9: with Yeah, let me.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Just clear that up. The report is totally false, apparently
- 16:43Speaker 2: totally false. ABC News getting a lot of flak from
- 16:46Speaker 2: the White House for spreading that story. Absolutely, I missed.
- 16:50Speaker 9: I missed that because Israel got hit with drones with
- 16:53Speaker 9: cluster bombs.
- 16:54Speaker 2: That there are no no we know that the cluster
- 16:56Speaker 2: bombs hit.
- 16:57Speaker 3: But here it is.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Caroline Levett yesterday, going after ABC news completely false report
- 17:03Speaker 2: about a possible drone strike against California. White House spokesman
- 17:09Speaker 2: called the report totally misleading, totally false, and there's no
- 17:13Speaker 2: credible threat from anything anything to do with that. ABC
- 17:18Speaker 2: News has yet to apologize for it. Let's go to
- 17:21Speaker 2: Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing. Good morning, Mark
- 17:25Speaker 2: guess Mike.
- 17:26Speaker 7: I used to work over at the CBS building there
- 17:30Speaker 7: for many, many years, and there was a small restroom
- 17:34Speaker 7: in away from the studios that I would use. Invariably,
- 17:38Speaker 7: I'd go in there and there would be Ernie doing,
- 17:41Speaker 7: you know, putting his own powder on he was It
- 17:43Speaker 7: wasn't makeup per se, it was his powder and combing
- 17:46Speaker 7: his hair in the in the in the mirror, and
- 17:49Speaker 7: it was just like just show how you know how
- 17:51Speaker 7: down to earth he was. You know that he wasn't
- 17:53Speaker 7: one of these primadatas in the makeup chapter seven hours
- 17:56Speaker 7: like some of the others over.
- 17:57Speaker 3: There, you know.
- 17:58Speaker 7: And it was always a great I always got to
- 18:00Speaker 7: kick out of it.
- 18:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:03Speaker 3: There he is, Yeah, wonderful.
- 18:05Speaker 7: Yeah, a guy of his stature, you know, especially.
- 18:08Speaker 2: All right, Mike, great call. Yes, some guys, some of
- 18:10Speaker 2: the biggest stars like to do their own makeup. The
- 18:12Speaker 2: real reason is I do this myself. I put my
- 18:16Speaker 2: own makeup because if you sit in that chair, they're
- 18:18Speaker 2: all great, these makeup artists, they're really great. But you'll
- 18:21Speaker 2: be there for an hour and they'll put forty seven
- 18:23Speaker 2: thousand things on your face. They'll put endless stuff all
- 18:26Speaker 2: over your face. And then you need, like after the show,
- 18:29Speaker 2: you need easy off, Like to get it off. It's
- 18:31Speaker 2: impossible and it goes all over your shirt and it's
- 18:34Speaker 2: a mess. But and most big, big, big, big, long long,
- 18:38Speaker 2: long time TV stars they knew exactly what they wanted
- 18:41Speaker 2: for makeup. They didn't want to have to explain it
- 18:44Speaker 2: to the makeup artists. They knew they want Max Studio
- 18:46Speaker 2: fixed thirty right here twenty five on this part of
- 18:49Speaker 2: their face. Let's go to Mike in bayside. Mike, how
- 18:52Speaker 2: you doing, Hey.
- 18:54Speaker 9: Good morning, Deblarian asked, this was a ridiculous legend.
- 18:59Speaker 5: It's kind of like a guy that you if you
- 19:00Speaker 5: wanted the truth, you.
- 19:01Speaker 6: Put him on. And actually last night.
- 19:03Speaker 9: I was having dinner with my mother and her girlfriend.
- 19:05Speaker 7: And they were devastated to hear that he died. Like
- 19:09Speaker 7: you know, older people, and you know you're talking about
- 19:12Speaker 7: Johnny Carson.
- 19:13Speaker 6: You know, it would be great to have him around
- 19:16Speaker 6: to deal with.
- 19:17Speaker 5: Because he doled it out fifty to fifty, so he
- 19:19Speaker 5: would he would definitely make fun of.
- 19:21Speaker 8: Trump, but he would definitely make fun of GDS people
- 19:24Speaker 8: at LGBT, like he would kill both sides.
- 19:27Speaker 2: And yeah, that's the idea. You know. The only person
- 19:30Speaker 2: who does that today Jimmy Fayla. He got a great
- 19:33Speaker 2: show here every night at nine and Saturday nights on
- 19:36Speaker 2: the Fox News Channel ten o'clock. He does an opening monologue.
- 19:38Speaker 2: It's exactly like Carson fifty fifty, just like Jay Leno.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Half the jokes about the Democrats, half the jokes about
- 19:45Speaker 2: the Republicans. Now nobody knew if you could watch them
- 19:49Speaker 2: every night for twenty thirty years jay Leno, Johnny Carson,
- 19:52Speaker 2: you still had no idea where they stood politically, no idea,
- 19:57Speaker 2: and if you knew them, Like I said about Ernie,
- 20:00Speaker 2: I knew him was well was I gonna know anybody?
- 20:02Speaker 2: I have no idea where he stood bluely, no idea
- 20:06Speaker 2: I knew Johnny Carson. I got the feeling that in
- 20:10Speaker 2: real life he was slightly like a millionth of a
- 20:13Speaker 2: me inch to the left of center. But that's about it,
- 20:16Speaker 2: jay Leno. I from knowing him, I think was slightly
- 20:20Speaker 2: maybe a billionth of a point to the right of center.
- 20:24Speaker 2: But otherwise you couldn't tell. Let's go to Bonnie and
- 20:27Speaker 2: Tom's river. Bonnie, how you doing?
- 20:29Speaker 6: Hi, good morning, how are you good? My question is,
- 20:33Speaker 6: you know, with these shuttles shut downs, it's so ridiculous.
- 20:38Speaker 6: Can't they put into law that whoever requests the shutdown
- 20:43Speaker 6: goes without pay just like everybody else.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a good idea. People have talked about that
- 20:49Speaker 2: if there's any kind of government shutdown where people aren't
- 20:51Speaker 2: getting paid, Congress should stop getting paid. It's a very
- 20:53Speaker 2: very good idea would definitely speed things up. By the way,
- 20:57Speaker 2: this is Friday at the end of the week. This
- 21:00Speaker 2: will be the first week where DHS employees don't get
- 21:02Speaker 2: a paycheck. Things were in place to keep them paid
- 21:05Speaker 2: for a while, but this will be the first day
- 21:07Speaker 2: TSA DHS don't get their paycheck. We'll talk about the
- 21:11Speaker 2: next hour, the ridiculous shutdown that's going on now. They
- 21:16Speaker 2: got to get this fixed in the next couple of
- 21:17Speaker 2: weeks because the second week of April, their Congress has
- 21:21Speaker 2: gone for Eastern and I think they're gone the first
- 21:23Speaker 2: They're gone like the first two weeks of April, so
- 21:25Speaker 2: they really only got two weeks left to fix this. Hey,
- 21:27Speaker 2: when we come back to Great Entertainment Reporter Roger Friedman,
- 21:31Speaker 2: we'll talk about the oscars and a whole lot more.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Just ahead on seven to ten wor here's.
- 21:37Speaker 1: More marksimone on seven to ten.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Wor Well, Roger Friedman, The Great Entertainment Reporter is website
- 21:44Speaker 2: is Showbiz for one one dot com. You should check
- 21:47Speaker 2: it out everyday news stories, great stuff, Showbiz for one
- 21:52Speaker 2: dot com. Roger Friedman, how you doing, I'm great. How
- 21:56Speaker 2: are you this morning? I'm good. Hey, you must have
- 21:58Speaker 2: known Ernie Nastis.
- 22:01Speaker 5: I didn't really know him, but I loved him. Everyone
- 22:03Speaker 5: loved him. The outpouring of love for him is amazing.
- 22:06Speaker 5: I mean I met him a couple of times. I
- 22:08Speaker 5: see some nice pictures of you on Instagram with him.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Yeah, but he was, well you met him, you know,
- 22:12Speaker 2: he was just a very happy guy. He kind of
- 22:15Speaker 2: put a positive globe every room he came into.
- 22:18Speaker 5: Yeah, and he was also what a career. I mean,
- 22:20Speaker 5: he was so popular and you know, tastes change in television,
- 22:28Speaker 5: the television world and television news, and they're also looking
- 22:31Speaker 5: for the next big thing. But he was always the
- 22:34Speaker 5: next big thing because he did eleven years at one
- 22:37Speaker 5: station than twelve years at another station. So it was
- 22:40Speaker 5: like even when he you know, he just kept going
- 22:43Speaker 5: and going and going, and people loved watching him.
- 22:46Speaker 2: But there's no more big thing than local television. You know,
- 22:48Speaker 2: in the good old days you had Chuck Scarbough, Roger Grimsby, Bill,
- 22:51Speaker 2: but tell you don't have that anymore.
- 22:53Speaker 5: You can't. I miss Roger Grimsby.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:58Speaker 5: Bill Utell was a great guy, by the way, did
- 23:00Speaker 5: you know him? Yeah, Bill, he was a lovely He
- 23:04Speaker 5: was a lovely guy.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Very stern, somber newsman. But off the air was like
- 23:08Speaker 2: this wild nightclub guy. He was a lot of fun.
- 23:11Speaker 5: Yeah, he was just very He was a lot of fun,
- 23:13Speaker 5: very nice and a real newsman. But Ernie and asked
- 23:16Speaker 5: this was he was really the like the epitome of
- 23:19Speaker 5: New York. And they don't say why he passed, what
- 23:23Speaker 5: happened to him, But I hope he didn't have a
- 23:26Speaker 5: bad time.
- 23:27Speaker 2: I'd been sick for a little while and the final
- 23:28Speaker 2: cause was pneumonia.
- 23:31Speaker 5: Was yeah, but look at the outpouring of love for
- 23:34Speaker 5: him on all the stations last night and on all
- 23:39Speaker 5: of our social media. It's just great. I mean, it's
- 23:42Speaker 5: that's very rewarding.
- 23:44Speaker 2: You know, hey, let's talk about the Oscars. It's Sunday night,
- 23:47Speaker 2: the big Oscar ceremony. You know, Yes, it's like local
- 23:51Speaker 2: TV news. You knew every name, you knew the big anchors.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Now you don't know who they are. Same thing with
- 23:55Speaker 2: the Oscars. You had the list of presenters. I don't
- 23:57Speaker 2: know who half these people are.
- 24:00Speaker 5: Yeah, the list of presenters this year surprised me. But
- 24:03Speaker 5: I actually wrote about this a few months ago because
- 24:06Speaker 5: you could already tell that the actors who were going
- 24:09Speaker 5: to be nominated weren't that well known or weren't big
- 24:12Speaker 5: movie star movie stars, you know, and there was like
- 24:16Speaker 5: not a lot of glitz. So I kept saying months
- 24:19Speaker 5: ago they better get in a lot of the old
- 24:23Speaker 5: Hollywood stars or the very well known brand name stars
- 24:26Speaker 5: while they're still alive, and get them in there to present.
- 24:30Speaker 5: But they didn't get any of them. The only thing
- 24:33Speaker 5: they're going to have that I know of so far
- 24:35Speaker 5: is that Barbara Streisand is going to speak for like
- 24:38Speaker 5: a couple of minutes about Robert Redford. But otherwise, and
- 24:42Speaker 5: they certainly my joke was My joke was for the
- 24:45Speaker 5: in memorium. They were not going to get Woody Allen
- 24:47Speaker 5: for Diane Keaton.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I hate to break it you, but nobody under thirty
- 24:52Speaker 2: five is going to know who Barbara Streisand is.
- 24:55Speaker 5: No they do. She's like a big star, I don't
- 24:59Speaker 5: think so.
- 25:00Speaker 7: You have a.
- 25:02Speaker 5: List of stars. When we were younger, we look forward
- 25:08Speaker 5: to seeing Gregory Peck and you know, Myrta Lloyd and
- 25:11Speaker 5: all these great stars come and give some glamour to
- 25:15Speaker 5: the Oscars. That's what it's supposed to be about. But
- 25:17Speaker 5: you know, the Oscars don't have that much glimber anymore
- 25:20Speaker 5: because people don't live in Hollywood. They don't live in
- 25:22Speaker 5: Los Angeles. There isn't much production in Los Angeles, and
- 25:27Speaker 5: it's straining for the movies, you know, to find a
- 25:30Speaker 5: huge auguss. I'll tell you what I'm excited about is
- 25:35Speaker 5: maybe next year's Oscars because Steven Spielberg has this movie
- 25:39Speaker 5: coming out in June called Disclosure Day, and they just
- 25:43Speaker 5: dropped the trailer. I have it on Showbiz four one one.
- 25:46Speaker 5: This movie looks fantastic. This movie looks like a return
- 25:50Speaker 5: to Steven Spielberg, you know, to e t Close Encounters
- 25:53Speaker 5: And I can't wait to see it. And I'll bet
- 25:56Speaker 5: it's a huge, huge hit.
- 25:57Speaker 2: What's a movie about.
- 25:59Speaker 5: It's about UFOs and apparently, and the disclosure is that
- 26:05Speaker 5: they're finally going to tell the truth about whether there
- 26:08Speaker 5: have been UFOs, whether they've been aliens on Earth for
- 26:11Speaker 5: the last eighty years, and it's going to make the UFO,
- 26:18Speaker 5: you know, conspiracy people go crazy, absolutely crazy. There's a
- 26:22Speaker 5: show on the radio overnight, do you. I don't know
- 26:25Speaker 5: if you ever listened.
- 26:26Speaker 2: To it, Flying Saucer Show.
- 26:28Speaker 8: I don't really get to hear it. I love that show,
- 26:31Speaker 8: but normal people don't want to hear that you know,
- 26:35Speaker 8: people call it and they say they've been abducted by aliens,
- 26:37Speaker 8: they're up in spaceships, they've had meetings with them. And
- 26:41Speaker 8: this movie is going to make those people. It's going
- 26:44Speaker 8: to activate those people all over the world. I mean
- 26:47Speaker 8: that Coast to Coast should really have Steven Spielberg on.
- 26:50Speaker 8: But the movie looks fantastic and it looks like the
- 26:55Speaker 8: cousin of Close Encounters, but even more like you.
- 26:58Speaker 5: Know, serious, So I'm excited about that. As far as
- 27:02Speaker 5: the Oscars go this weekend, you know, yeah, So it's
- 27:06Speaker 5: very strange the presenters are. They're going for very young
- 27:10Speaker 5: and everyone's everyone's under fifty or fifty straining it. But
- 27:16Speaker 5: they don't have any of the big, big stars. And
- 27:20Speaker 5: I'm afraid that the biggest part of the show is
- 27:22Speaker 5: going to be the memoriam because you're going to have Redford, Keaton,
- 27:26Speaker 5: Gene Hackman, You're going to have all these big people
- 27:29Speaker 5: who died during the last year. And that's a downer,
- 27:33Speaker 5: do you know what I mean?
- 27:34Speaker 2: Hey, the only Oscar movie I saw was Marty Supreme.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Is that going to win anything?
- 27:40Speaker 5: Marty Supreme is a flashpoint now because Timothy Challome, the
- 27:45Speaker 5: star for a long time was in the lead to
- 27:47Speaker 5: win Best Actor, but he has screwed up his Oscar
- 27:51Speaker 5: campaign in the most unhistoric way. First, he started appearing
- 27:56Speaker 5: in orange outfits. They manufactured orange ping pong balls to
- 28:00Speaker 5: go with it, and everywhere he went. Plus he totes
- 28:03Speaker 5: around Kardashian, this Kylie Jenner, who Hollywood just can't stand,
- 28:09Speaker 5: and she's always dressed very trashy looking at all the
- 28:12Speaker 5: award shows. He's really build his own career, and in
- 28:16Speaker 5: the last couple of weeks there's been like a monumental
- 28:20Speaker 5: campaign against him because he did an interview on CNN
- 28:24Speaker 5: with Matthew McConaughey and he said that he, you know,
- 28:27Speaker 5: he made castigating remarks about ballet and opera and said they,
- 28:32Speaker 5: you know, they weren't going to live on as forms
- 28:35Speaker 5: of art. And this made everyone angry at him. So
- 28:38Speaker 5: I have.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Never been to an opera, ballet, What are they getting
- 28:42Speaker 2: so uptight about?
- 28:43Speaker 5: Well, but they didn't like the idea, and I think
- 28:47Speaker 5: that you're going to see Timothey Tallam may not win
- 28:50Speaker 5: the Oscar this Sunday, which would be too bad because
- 28:53Speaker 5: he really deserved it. But there are other the other
- 28:56Speaker 5: people in the category are really good. You have Leonardo
- 28:58Speaker 5: DiCaprio who could certainly when Michael B. Jordan from Sinners
- 29:02Speaker 5: who's excellent, and Ethan Hawke, who's amazing in Blue Moon,
- 29:07Speaker 5: a movie you should rent on video and demand. So
- 29:13Speaker 5: Marty Supreme may have ping ponged its way out.
- 29:15Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Hey, we only got a minute left. What
- 29:18Speaker 2: about the Oscar parties? Did you write that they're kind
- 29:20Speaker 2: of downsizing a little the big parties?
- 29:22Speaker 5: Well, Vanity Fair. You know, Vanity Fair is not the
- 29:26Speaker 5: magazine it used to be, and they're struggling for circulation.
- 29:30Speaker 5: They've lost a lot of money. They have a new
- 29:32Speaker 5: editor who's very young, and they're cutting the party in half,
- 29:37Speaker 5: so they're moving to a smaller locale and it's not
- 29:40Speaker 5: going to be the big, you know, pageant that it
- 29:42Speaker 5: usually is. And yesterday the editor did an interview where
- 29:46Speaker 5: he said only people who have who've won oscars can come,
- 29:50Speaker 5: but the nominees should forget it. So if you if
- 29:54Speaker 5: you're not for an Oscar and you lose, you can't come.
- 29:58Speaker 2: So trying to create some fake cash for the party.
- 30:02Speaker 5: Yeah, but there's it's not it's not. Vanvey Fair had
- 30:06Speaker 5: a crescendo over the last twenty years with oscar parties
- 30:10Speaker 5: and you know, fantastic, fabulous people. And now they stop by,
- 30:14Speaker 5: they take a picture on the red carpet and then
- 30:15Speaker 5: they go to dinner.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Well, if you want to read more, go to Roger
- 30:19Speaker 2: Freeman's website. There's excellent stuff there, and there's new stuff
- 30:22Speaker 2: every day. Show bizfoe one dot com. Make it one
- 30:25Speaker 2: of your regular websites, show Biz for one one dot com.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Roger Friedman, thanks for being with us. Thank you, take care. Hey,
- 30:34Speaker 2: don't forget Buck and Clay Noon Today. They do a
- 30:37Speaker 2: wonderful show every day from noon to three. Then you
- 30:39Speaker 2: got the most listened to radio show in America, Sean
- 30:42Speaker 2: Hannity at three. And you got to listen to our
- 30:44Speaker 2: new show, Jimmy Fayala every night nine o'clock nine to midnight.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Real good show, very funny. And don't forget Curtis is
- 30:51Speaker 2: now here Curtis Leewa every morning with Larry Menti on
- 30:54Speaker 2: seven to ten. Wo rr Mark's Emotion on seven.
- 31:02Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 31:02Speaker 2: So the oscars there Sunday night a week one week
- 31:08Speaker 2: from spring beginning. This is the last week of summer.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Then right after that you have baseball Opening Day. Hey,
- 31:14Speaker 2: there's a lot of people upset because the Yankee Opening
- 31:18Speaker 2: Day broadcast will be Netflix only. It's not going to
- 31:22Speaker 2: be on television, It'll Netflix only. I would think most
- 31:25Speaker 2: people have Netflix. But a lot of people speaking that,
- 31:29Speaker 2: even Michael Kay, the Yankee announcer, and a lot of
- 31:31Speaker 2: people baseball purists especially, they can't stand this at the
- 31:36Speaker 2: opening game of the Yankees because that's a big game.
- 31:38Speaker 2: A lot of pageantry and ceremony and a lot of
- 31:40Speaker 2: important stuff will not be broadcast. It'll be Netflix only. Now,
- 31:45Speaker 2: you can't blame the Yankees because obviously Netflix paid off
- 31:49Speaker 2: fortune for that exclusive. Hey, we'll be back in the
- 31:52Speaker 2: next hour. Miranda Divine will be with us. We've got
- 31:55Speaker 2: lots to talk about. And don't forget I'm here every
- 31:58Speaker 2: day ten to noon. Listen anytime get the podcast, and
- 32:02Speaker 2: by the way, for your podcast listener, there's a bonus
- 32:05Speaker 2: segment on the weekends back after the news seven too, the.
- 32:10Speaker 5: Mark Simon Show onor.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Well, it's Friday, it's the final week. This is the
- 32:22Speaker 2: last seven days of winter, and then it's spring. Got
- 32:26Speaker 2: that daylight saving time light out till seven, seven to fifteen.
- 32:31Speaker 3: Some nights.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Well, we got a lot to get to this hour,
- 32:34Speaker 2: so we'll get to Iran in a moment. To just
- 32:37Speaker 2: update you on the crazy mayor. This mom Donnie is
- 32:41Speaker 2: absolutely nuts. I mean, we knew he was like a
- 32:45Speaker 2: left wing socialist, antisemitic all have been on top of that,
- 32:49Speaker 2: he's just nuts the things he does. I mean, it's
- 32:52Speaker 2: just in the first few weeks. He's only been here
- 32:56Speaker 2: two months. Just look at some of the things he said.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Remember the terrible shooting of the nutjob. Crazy maniac is
- 33:04Speaker 2: out there, shoots the cop. Mom Donnie rushes to the
- 33:07Speaker 2: hospital to visit the shooter, not the cop. We've never
- 33:12Speaker 2: seen that before ever in history. Goes to the hospital,
- 33:15Speaker 2: visits the purp to make sure he's okay. Have you
- 33:19Speaker 2: ever heard of anything like that. You're the mayor, this
- 33:24Speaker 2: is your cop, you're policeman who was shot. He's supposed
- 33:26Speaker 2: to visit him. You're not supposed to go visit the purp,
- 33:30Speaker 2: the shooter in the hospital. Absolutely insane. Then he invites
- 33:36Speaker 2: the worst guy in the world, that terrorist supporter Khalil
- 33:41Speaker 2: Mam Mama whatever his name is, Khalil, who's at Colombia
- 33:45Speaker 2: leading this anti Semitic anti Israel charge.
- 33:49Speaker 3: There's this.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Awful October seventh Holocaust that takes place in Israel. Khalil
- 33:55Speaker 2: supports it, he believes in it. Horrible, horrible guy. Thank
- 33:59Speaker 2: god the United States decided to deport this guy. You
- 34:03Speaker 2: can't get a green card visa. You can't be given
- 34:07Speaker 2: a green card to come to the US of visa
- 34:09Speaker 2: to come here and then try to just destroy everything
- 34:12Speaker 2: and everybody. And if it's about freedom of speech, you
- 34:16Speaker 2: got to say on your application, this is what you
- 34:18Speaker 2: stand for that when you get here, you're going to
- 34:20Speaker 2: lead protests against Israel, against this, against it. But he
- 34:23Speaker 2: didn't say any He lied on his application, so they
- 34:25Speaker 2: were going to deport him. They had him detained, he
- 34:29Speaker 2: was in custody, You get a left wing wacko judge
- 34:31Speaker 2: who lets him out, which is not that's bad enough.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Then you get the mayor invites him to Gracie Mansion
- 34:39Speaker 2: to have dinner there. It's absolutely insane. Mom, Donnie's still
- 34:42Speaker 2: getting flak for that yesterday. Tried to explain it.
- 34:45Speaker 10: When he was detained by ice agents, flown to Louisiana
- 34:49Speaker 10: and held in an ice facility, and he was held
- 34:52Speaker 10: there for months and the only charge that was levied
- 34:56Speaker 10: against him was the exercising of his First Amendment rights.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Well, actually no, it was leading all kinds of terrible disruptions.
- 35:05Speaker 2: And you know, if you hate us that much, don't
- 35:08Speaker 2: come here. Don't come here. You know, if you love
- 35:12Speaker 2: Hamas that much, go over there, go join them. But this,
- 35:16Speaker 2: mam Donni's just one crazy thing after another. Now the latest,
- 35:21Speaker 2: you know, there was some flack over the homeless. He
- 35:26Speaker 2: remember how bad things got in the month of February.
- 35:30Speaker 2: I remember that cold spell where like temperature, the real field
- 35:33Speaker 2: temperature was like minus ten degrees. It was unbelievably cold.
- 35:37Speaker 2: And Mamdani orders the cops and all the agencies, don't
- 35:40Speaker 2: bother the homeless. If they want to stay out in
- 35:42Speaker 2: the street, let them stay out. And the result was
- 35:44Speaker 2: seventeen died out in the streets. So you got to
- 35:47Speaker 2: do something. You know, we have these shelters, and the
- 35:50Speaker 2: problem is you got politicians running, and politicians, whether it's
- 35:54Speaker 2: Tablasi or types like that, they're just totally incompetent. I
- 35:57Speaker 2: mean they're nice guys, they can make a nice speech,
- 36:00Speaker 2: but they're not managers. They don't know how to run anything.
- 36:03Speaker 2: You know, they'll tell you, well, the shelter's not safe,
- 36:07Speaker 2: shelter is infested with rats. Well if that's the case,
- 36:13Speaker 2: go fix it. That happens all the time.
- 36:15Speaker 5: You know.
- 36:16Speaker 2: When guys like Trump are the great builders of New York,
- 36:19Speaker 2: sometimes they buy an old building and you know, that's
- 36:22Speaker 2: how the meatpacking district started. When the great Irwin Cohen
- 36:26Speaker 2: he bought the old Chelsea Market, it was all run down.
- 36:29Speaker 2: He ended up creating the meatpacking District, the most spectacular
- 36:31Speaker 2: thing in the world. But he used to tell me
- 36:33Speaker 2: when he bought it it was disgusting. It was filled
- 36:36Speaker 2: with rats and roaches and drug dealers and hookers and junkies,
- 36:40Speaker 2: and it was a crack then. So if he had
- 36:43Speaker 2: the Dplasio approach, he'd say, oh boy, we can't go
- 36:46Speaker 2: in there. Nothing we can do. No, they went in
- 36:48Speaker 2: there and cleaned it out. You come in with a
- 36:50Speaker 2: lot of cops and a thousand exterminators and you clean
- 36:53Speaker 2: it out and you fix it up. So you could
- 36:55Speaker 2: do that with these shelters. If they're that bad, fix them.
- 37:00Speaker 2: It's that If that were Rudy Giuliani, he'd be back
- 37:02Speaker 2: at the shelter the next day with forty cops and
- 37:05Speaker 2: fifty exterminators and they'd clean the place up and then
- 37:09Speaker 2: you'd run the shelters. They're not safe. Put some cops
- 37:12Speaker 2: in there, make them sick. But politicians can't figure that out.
- 37:15Speaker 2: So what do you do with the homeless? Well, Mom,
- 37:17Speaker 2: Donnie just signed a contract yesterday for two billion dollars.
- 37:23Speaker 2: This is coming out of our paychecks. A contract for
- 37:26Speaker 2: two billion dollars to put the homeless in hotels. Remember
- 37:30Speaker 2: they did this with the illegals that came here. Remember
- 37:33Speaker 2: they Watson Hotel right up there on fifty seventh Street
- 37:36Speaker 2: with the swimming pool on the roof and the eight
- 37:39Speaker 2: hundred dollars a night rooms. That's where they put these
- 37:41Speaker 2: illegal aliens. We paid for it out of our paychecks.
- 37:44Speaker 2: So now they're going to put the homeless in hotels.
- 37:47Speaker 2: They're even closing the men's shelter. It's two hundred and
- 37:50Speaker 2: fifty beds there can hold two hundred and fifty residents
- 37:55Speaker 2: on thirtieth Street, they're closing it. You could the house
- 38:00Speaker 2: people there for a lot less money, but they're going
- 38:03Speaker 2: to spend two billion on hotel rooms. It's absolutely ridiculous.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Have you ever tried to get a hotel room in Manhattan.
- 38:10Speaker 2: It's very expensive. It's a lot of money for hotel Manhattan.
- 38:13Speaker 2: You ever said, you know, I think we'll stay in
- 38:15Speaker 2: Manhattan one night. Dan, You look at the rates eight
- 38:17Speaker 2: hundred a night, one thousand a night. He said, I'm
- 38:20Speaker 2: not going to spend that. But here's the homeless getting
- 38:22Speaker 2: it for free. Now, why would you give a two
- 38:25Speaker 2: billion dollar contract.
- 38:27Speaker 3: To these hotels.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Well, he may be stupid, but he's like a real politician.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Now he's getting to be a real sleazy, corrupt politician.
- 38:37Speaker 2: The reason you do that, it's the big Hotel Association,
- 38:41Speaker 2: which is one of the biggest donors in politics, one
- 38:44Speaker 2: of the biggest special interest groups in New York, the
- 38:47Speaker 2: Hotel Association. That's why politicians love to give them multi
- 38:52Speaker 2: billion dollar contracts, multi billion dollar contracts. Now here's the
- 38:58Speaker 2: other problemaide the fact that you're overpaying like crazy to
- 39:03Speaker 2: house the homeless. When you give a billion dollar contracts.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Something happened during the migrant crisis. When you take thousands
- 39:11Speaker 2: and thousands and thousands of hotel rooms for this purpose,
- 39:14Speaker 2: you're taking thousands and thousands of hotel rooms off the market.
- 39:18Speaker 2: So you're cutting down on the available number of hotel
- 39:21Speaker 2: rooms for tourists, and when you cut down the inventory,
- 39:25Speaker 2: it drives the price way up.
- 39:27Speaker 3: So if it's eight.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Hundred a night for the hotel and you take five,
- 39:31Speaker 2: six ten thousand rooms off the market, the price is
- 39:34Speaker 2: going to double on the hotels that are still on
- 39:37Speaker 2: the markets. Absolutely insane. Only an idiot would do that,
- 39:42Speaker 2: or a sleazy politician who needs to take care of
- 39:45Speaker 2: special interest groups. The Hotel Association is one of them.
- 39:48Speaker 2: I mean, not their fault, but they're big, big, huge donors.
- 39:51Speaker 2: They take care of politicians. And it's not just them.
- 39:54Speaker 2: A lot of these unions they get big, big contracts
- 39:58Speaker 2: from these politicians because they make big, big, big donations.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Let's get to the Nancy Guthrie case. There's a name
- 40:06Speaker 2: you don't hear anymore, Nancy Guthrie. Go watch TV twenty
- 40:10Speaker 2: four to seven. You won't hear the name Nancy Guthrie anymore.
- 40:13Speaker 3: Did everybody just give up?
- 40:14Speaker 2: Well, that crazy sheriff, his name is Nanos. That local
- 40:19Speaker 2: sheriff who looked like a real bumbling and competent from
- 40:22Speaker 2: the beginning. Besides bumbling and incompetent, is starting to look
- 40:26Speaker 2: sleezier and Sleezier and Sleezier, and stuff is coming out
- 40:31Speaker 2: about this guy way in the past in his career,
- 40:34Speaker 2: he's lied on his resume in earlier jobs he had,
- 40:37Speaker 2: he got brought up on charges for all sorts of crap.
- 40:40Speaker 2: So he's not the most reputable guy in the world.
- 40:43Speaker 2: And then Yesterday makes this bizarre statement, because what happened
- 40:47Speaker 2: to Nancy Guthrie? Why have we stopped talking about it?
- 40:50Speaker 2: Why have we forgotten about it? So this sheriff Yesterday says, well,
- 40:53Speaker 2: he thinks he knows why she was targeted. In fact,
- 40:58Speaker 2: he warns the suspect could strike again. Well, if he
- 41:00Speaker 2: has any idea what happened, why is he telling us?
- 41:03Speaker 2: Why would you make such a real, weird, mysterious statement
- 41:06Speaker 2: like that. You're the sheriff, I think I know what happened.
- 41:12Speaker 5: Let us know.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Tell us. There are some people, now this sounds a
- 41:17Speaker 2: little crazy, but there are some people now that think
- 41:18Speaker 2: he was involved somehow, or that he knew the people involved,
- 41:23Speaker 2: something like that. I have no evidence of that, and
- 41:26Speaker 2: it sounds crazy to me, but there are some people
- 41:29Speaker 2: that now are starting to believe that. Hey, the Department
- 41:33Speaker 2: of Justice issued a big correction. You know, the Muller Report,
- 41:37Speaker 2: that crazy Muller Report. This is hard to believe, but
- 41:39Speaker 2: ten years ago Democrats got so upset about Trump getting
- 41:43Speaker 2: elected that they've concocted one of the worst hoaxes ever
- 41:48Speaker 2: on the American public. It was the Russia collusion hoax.
- 41:52Speaker 2: They actually tried to convince people that Trump was some
- 41:55Speaker 2: sort of Russian agent. He was involved with the Russians,
- 41:58Speaker 2: He and Putin, they were colluding on stealing the election,
- 42:02Speaker 2: and they tried to convince everybody that Trump didn't win
- 42:05Speaker 2: Russia actually tampered with the election. Now, you always get
- 42:10Speaker 2: some election denying through the years, Kennedy, Nixon, there's elections
- 42:14Speaker 2: where a lot of fraud took place, and it's always
- 42:18Speaker 2: brought up. There's a bunch of examples. Kerry claimed that
- 42:21Speaker 2: with Bush and all that. But this was the biggest
- 42:24Speaker 2: case of election denial ever, trying to claim Russia stole
- 42:29Speaker 2: the election, and it led to the Mueller investigation, the
- 42:33Speaker 2: Muller witch hunt, which spent one hundred and fifty million
- 42:36Speaker 2: of taxpayer money and found absolutely no evidence anywhere of
- 42:41Speaker 2: any Russian collusion. Nothing. They found no evidence of Russia
- 42:46Speaker 2: tampering with the election. The only thing they came up with.
- 42:50Speaker 2: They found that Russian bots or something spent one hundred
- 42:55Speaker 2: thousand on Facebook ads. Now that is absolutely nothing. Big
- 43:01Speaker 2: restaurants in Manhattan spent one hundred thousand on Facebook ads.
- 43:04Speaker 2: It's nothing. The campaigns each spent like three hundred million
- 43:09Speaker 2: on Facebook ads. One hundred thousand on Facebook ads. It
- 43:12Speaker 2: is not going to do anything to affect anything in
- 43:14Speaker 2: the election. So the whole thing was a hoax. Well,
- 43:18Speaker 2: now the Department of Justice, going through the Muller Report,
- 43:20Speaker 2: has issued a huge correction in it. You remember, there
- 43:23Speaker 2: was the story about Russia was blackmailing Trump because there
- 43:27Speaker 2: was a video of his stay in a Moscow hotel
- 43:31Speaker 2: room where he was with two prostitutes and there were
- 43:34Speaker 2: golden showers that remember that, this ridiculous, preposterous story about
- 43:40Speaker 2: this ridiculous video tape. It never happened, there's no video,
- 43:44Speaker 2: but they said it was a Russian intelligence agent. They
- 43:48Speaker 2: even named the guy Russian intelligence agent that was behind
- 43:53Speaker 2: this tape, Russian intelligence agent that was to help create
- 43:56Speaker 2: this whole Russia connection. Well, they've corrected it now because
- 44:00Speaker 2: the guy, whose name is Georgie rich Seltrich is Zaldi,
- 44:04Speaker 2: whatever his name is here. It turns out he's not Russian.
- 44:07Speaker 2: He was an American. He's originally a Georgian, but he's
- 44:10Speaker 2: an American. He wasn't Russian, had nothing to do with Russia.
- 44:13Speaker 2: So that correction being put out yesterday by the Department
- 44:18Speaker 2: of Justice. First time we're ever hearing about that. Hey,
- 44:21Speaker 2: you know, taxes in New York. They keep wanting to
- 44:24Speaker 2: raise taxes. They keep wanting to raise taxes on the rich,
- 44:26Speaker 2: raise taxes on everybody, because they keep claiming, we just
- 44:30Speaker 2: don't have enough money. The budget. The budget, we're short
- 44:33Speaker 2: of money. We have a short New York City Council
- 44:35Speaker 2: wants to boost its own budget by ten percent, ten percent.
- 44:41Speaker 2: It's one hundred and fifteen million a year. What the
- 44:43Speaker 2: hell would cost one hundred and fifteen million a year
- 44:46Speaker 2: for the city council. They want to raise it to
- 44:48Speaker 2: about one hundred and thirty million a year. Absolutely ridiculous.
- 44:52Speaker 2: They want to add fifty seven new jobs city council.
- 44:58Speaker 2: They got a meeting room, got that long desk with
- 45:01Speaker 2: the microphones. They show up, they talk, they vote. That's
- 45:04Speaker 2: all you need. Why would you need hundreds and hundreds
- 45:07Speaker 2: of employees for this and they want to add fifty
- 45:09Speaker 2: seven new jobs legal and professional contracts of eighteen new
- 45:16Speaker 2: jobs just for the city council speaker. What the hell
- 45:18Speaker 2: would they need eighteen new people for. Absolutely ridiculous. Hey,
- 45:22Speaker 2: if people tell you everybody's leaving New York, you hear
- 45:26Speaker 2: that all the time from people. Everybody I know is
- 45:28Speaker 2: leaving New York. People are fleeing New York. It's absolutely
- 45:31Speaker 2: not true. There are more people moving in than moving out.
- 45:35Speaker 2: In fact, the condo co op market, especially the high end,
- 45:40Speaker 2: it's more contracts closed last month than usual, the month before,
- 45:44Speaker 2: more contracts closed than the year before. And when it
- 45:47Speaker 2: comes to rentals, and that's the best way to tell,
- 45:50Speaker 2: because a lot of people when they move for the
- 45:52Speaker 2: first time to New York, new people coming in usually
- 45:55Speaker 2: will rent first. They'll rent and then maybe a year later,
- 45:59Speaker 2: if they like it, I'll buy something. But the rental
- 46:01Speaker 2: market is the way you tell. The rental market is
- 46:04Speaker 2: through the roof. In fact, it's very tough to rent
- 46:07Speaker 2: anything right now. In fact that we've set a new
- 46:10Speaker 2: record for declines in available homes. There's very very little inventory,
- 46:16Speaker 2: a new record for how many rentals are going on.
- 46:19Speaker 2: It's a massive boom. It's driving the price up. You know,
- 46:24Speaker 2: we see the price of rentals. One reason is so
- 46:26Speaker 2: many people are moving here. There's very very very very
- 46:30Speaker 2: little inventory, so don't fall for all that stuff. Now
- 46:33Speaker 2: people are moving out of Washington State. This is what
- 46:40Speaker 2: happens when you try to go soak the rich or
- 46:43Speaker 2: target the billionaires. So they wrought Washington State putting in
- 46:46Speaker 2: this new tax. Low's an extra ten percent tax anybody
- 46:50Speaker 2: making over a million dollars a year. The founder, creator
- 46:54Speaker 2: of Starbucks, which is probably the most famous Washington State company,
- 46:58Speaker 2: well maybe Microsoft, but Starbucks just a symbol of Washington State.
- 47:03Speaker 2: The chairman, the founder, Howard Schultz, says he's leaving Washington
- 47:06Speaker 2: the day before that tax starts, because you know, if
- 47:10Speaker 2: you've got one hundred million and the tax is ten million,
- 47:14Speaker 2: you're handing ten million to the government just to squander it,
- 47:17Speaker 2: just to waste it. If you're a guy like Howard Schultz,
- 47:20Speaker 2: it's not that you're greedy, but if you've got an
- 47:23Speaker 2: extra tax, it's gonna be an extra twenty million. You'd
- 47:27Speaker 2: rather give that to your kids. You'd rather give that
- 47:29Speaker 2: to a charity. You'd rather donate that to a hospital.
- 47:32Speaker 2: Why would you want to give it to some slease
- 47:33Speaker 2: ball politicians who are gonna waste the twenty million, So
- 47:37Speaker 2: I don't blame them. He's leaving, he's moving to Florida. Hey,
- 47:40Speaker 2: we'll take some calls. Next. Eight hundred three two one
- 47:43Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two
- 47:47Speaker 2: one zero seven ten.
- 47:49Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simon Show on wor.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 47:57Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number. Let's go to Tony
- 47:59Speaker 2: and Chester. Tony, how you doing.
- 48:02Speaker 11: Hey, Mark, I'm doing well and I love listening to you,
- 48:06Speaker 11: and there's so many things I'd love to talk to
- 48:08Speaker 11: you about. It's just, you know, Rudy Giuliani. This thing
- 48:12Speaker 11: with Savannah Guthrie. There's something on the internet that's saying,
- 48:16Speaker 11: you know, she interviewed some people connected with the ebscene
- 48:20Speaker 11: case and they're trying to teach her.
- 48:22Speaker 9: No, no, no, no, okay.
- 48:26Speaker 11: So here's the one yesterday when you're talking about Elon
- 48:29Speaker 11: being probably the next trillionaire. Why does it he with
- 48:33Speaker 11: all his brilliant attack homelessness because he's got enough money
- 48:37Speaker 11: to solve it on his own.
- 48:38Speaker 2: No, you gotta remember he could do that in a second.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Guys like this could figure out everything. But he tried
- 48:42Speaker 2: it with the government wasting fraud, the DOGE program, and
- 48:46Speaker 2: all he did was get attacked day in night, NonStop,
- 48:48Speaker 2: and he had to back off. So that's the problem.
- 48:51Speaker 3: You could.
- 48:52Speaker 2: You know, guys like that can come in and fix
- 48:53Speaker 2: everything in government, but the swamp, the deep state will
- 48:57Speaker 2: fight you like crazy and chase you out of Washington,
- 49:00Speaker 2: and that's what happened. Let's go to Barbara in Woodside, Barbara,
- 49:03Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 49:05Speaker 12: How you do?
- 49:05Speaker 13: And I'm doing great. Listen, I worked at the city
- 49:09Speaker 13: council and all these people are political appointees. They're favors
- 49:13Speaker 13: to the political parties. And I stayed there only four
- 49:17Speaker 13: months because it's the environment was too political and very
- 49:20Speaker 13: hard to stay there.
- 49:21Speaker 2: So when they want to increase the budget, hire another
- 49:23Speaker 2: ninety people, it's like this is like Polly walnutsts no
- 49:28Speaker 2: medical Paully Walnuts, no show jobs. That kind of stuff
- 49:32Speaker 2: that makes sense. Let's go to Bob in Mottvale. Bob,
- 49:35Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 49:37Speaker 14: I'm hanging in there. Mark, thanks for taking their call.
- 49:40Speaker 14: You know that the reason why they're closing out homeless
- 49:43Speaker 14: shelter for men is that it's decrepit. It's like any
- 49:47Speaker 14: other New York City landlord owned property. Let to go
- 49:51Speaker 14: to shame. And now they're going to spend billions on
- 49:53Speaker 14: a hotel.
- 49:54Speaker 2: I know, but my point was that Chelsea Market was
- 49:56Speaker 2: the most decrepit thing in New York and Irwin Cohen
- 49:59Speaker 2: bys it and said let's transform it. All of a sudden,
- 50:02Speaker 2: it's the most beautiful building in New York on a hotspot.
- 50:04Speaker 2: And it didn't cost two billion. At these hotel rooms,
- 50:06Speaker 2: it costs like twenty million. And that was it. To
- 50:09Speaker 2: fix it up it again, to fix up that. If
- 50:12Speaker 2: you give that shelter to Donald Trump and said turn
- 50:15Speaker 2: this into a ballroom, it'd be the most gleaming, beautiful
- 50:18Speaker 2: ballroom in New York in two months. So you can
- 50:20Speaker 2: fix up the shelter. You don't have to spend billions
- 50:23Speaker 2: and billions in hotel rooms. But as we pointed out,
- 50:26Speaker 2: it's a contract to the Hotel Association, which can do
- 50:30Speaker 2: you a lot of good. If you're a politician, Let's
- 50:32Speaker 2: go to Tony and White Plains. Tony, how you doing.
- 50:35Speaker 15: Yeah, good morning, Mark. I also met Ernie a Masters.
- 50:39Speaker 15: I live in White plains West, shefie.
- 50:41Speaker 2: Oh you call that living but okay, no, I love
- 50:44Speaker 2: White Plains. It's a beautiful place. You got a Trump
- 50:46Speaker 2: Tower in White plains, You got a rich Garlton and
- 50:49Speaker 2: white plains.
- 50:49Speaker 15: Yes, we do, yes. But the reason why I called
- 50:52Speaker 15: is I met Ernie actually in the Pocono's Popono downs
- 50:57Speaker 15: at the racetrack. My friend George Anthony, he calls the
- 51:01Speaker 15: races there, and I'm also the horse business. And I
- 51:04Speaker 15: was with my wife and some friends. And then we
- 51:06Speaker 15: went up.
- 51:07Speaker 3: To the booths.
- 51:07Speaker 15: Uh, my friend George was calling the races and and
- 51:11Speaker 15: and there was George Anthony.
- 51:12Speaker 2: I mean, we got to speak this story up a little.
- 51:15Speaker 15: Let's get to part Ernie anastis. I'm sorry, and and
- 51:18Speaker 15: uh he introduced us, and he was a perfect gentleman.
- 51:22Speaker 15: But we used to watch them.
- 51:23Speaker 5: All the time.
- 51:24Speaker 15: He didn't hit you, No, no, no, he doesn't. He
- 51:27Speaker 15: actually even off off to buy a hot dog, but
- 51:29Speaker 15: we already have one because they were having the.
- 51:31Speaker 2: All right now, it's a good good point. Yeah, Ernie
- 51:34Speaker 2: was the nicest guy in the world. If you go
- 51:35Speaker 2: on Instagram, you'll see millions of people putting up pictures
- 51:38Speaker 2: with Ernie that's because anybody who wanted to stop and
- 51:40Speaker 2: take a picture, he would be happy to do it.
- 51:42Speaker 2: Nicest guy ever. Check out my Instagram. There's some pictures
- 51:45Speaker 2: of Ernie there. Mark Simone n Y I s a Instagram.
- 51:49Speaker 2: Let's go to George in Long Island. George, how you doing?
- 51:52Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 51:53Speaker 12: Hi, poor Jefferson Port Jefferson.
- 51:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 51:56Speaker 12: I told next time you come out go to par
- 51:58Speaker 12: It's on Main Street. It's a nice place that makes Colon.
- 52:02Speaker 2: Got that Prohibition restaurant that's very good.
- 52:05Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 52:05Speaker 12: I haven't been there yet.
- 52:06Speaker 2: Anyway, Lisa Harris, the great baker, and you got that
- 52:09Speaker 2: hotel to go there? Yeah.
- 52:11Speaker 12: I try to lose weight, which is impossible. But anyway, And.
- 52:14Speaker 2: If you're in are you near Smithtown?
- 52:17Speaker 5: Uh?
- 52:17Speaker 12: Yeah, I am big spectacular.
- 52:20Speaker 2: New restaurant just open there, the Chaz It's the sister
- 52:23Speaker 2: restaurant of Rothman's, just opening in Smithtown this week.
- 52:28Speaker 15: I'll have to try it.
- 52:29Speaker 12: Anyway. Listen, we're in trouble when Madonnie in the city.
- 52:32Speaker 12: My kids live in the city and they voted for
- 52:33Speaker 12: him because they're crazy left wing is what can I say.
- 52:36Speaker 12: They grew up in Garden City, which when there was
- 52:38Speaker 12: a Democratic vote in the ballot, they'd have an investigation.
- 52:41Speaker 12: But that'sn't either here or there with mcdonni, with Mandannie,
- 52:44Speaker 12: we're in trouble because even if Bruce Blakeman.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Should win, we will win Grce Blakeman.
- 52:50Speaker 12: No, I hope he will. I hope he will win,
- 52:52Speaker 12: but he would if he wins, and he can remove
- 52:55Speaker 12: when Donnie under the city Charna, you have the you
- 52:59Speaker 12: have the public app Jonnie Williams, he's just.
- 53:01Speaker 2: Well, he's no great bargain either. But also remember, Bruce Blakeman,
- 53:04Speaker 2: when he gets elected governor, can remove the district attorneys.
- 53:07Speaker 2: He can get rid of Alvin Bragging, put in a
- 53:09Speaker 2: real DA. Things can happen.
- 53:12Speaker 12: Mock listing.
- 53:13Speaker 5: I'm not always.
- 53:16Speaker 2: First of all, this whole thing is your fault. You're
- 53:18Speaker 2: crazy left wing kids voted for him.
- 53:20Speaker 12: Let me tell you. I'll tell you what I told him.
- 53:23Speaker 12: I finally told my daughter, who went to a fancy school,
- 53:26Speaker 12: I paid for it. I said, I should have sent
- 53:27Speaker 12: you to the University of Havana. It would have been
- 53:30Speaker 12: cheaper that same result. Goodbye, great call.
- 53:34Speaker 2: Hey, when we come back to the brilliant columnist, the
- 53:37Speaker 2: great columnist, Miranda Divine will be with us next on
- 53:41Speaker 2: seven to ten w R.
- 53:43Speaker 1: Mark Simoni's back on seventeen.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Woor Hey, the biggest and best columnist in America, Miranda Divine.
- 53:51Speaker 2: You can read her in The New York Post and
- 53:53Speaker 2: make sure you get her book if it's a big
- 53:55Speaker 2: best seller. But if you haven't read the book, the
- 53:57Speaker 2: Big Guy, get Miranda Divine's book and listen to our podcast.
- 54:01Speaker 2: It's fantastic Pod Force one. A lot of great episodes
- 54:05Speaker 2: are out wherever you get podcasts. Miranda Divine, how you doing.
- 54:11Speaker 16: I'm really well, Thanks Mark, thanks for having me on.
- 54:13Speaker 2: Thanks for all the great work, great columns. Hey talk
- 54:16Speaker 2: about the media, the far left me even normal mainstream
- 54:20Speaker 2: it's gone crazy. Those two Isis bomb throwers are just happy,
- 54:24Speaker 2: go lucky teenagers, and they're attacking us over Iran. What
- 54:28Speaker 2: is going on here?
- 54:31Speaker 16: I just think that Trump derangement has gripped so hard
- 54:37Speaker 16: that they can't even see for their own self protection
- 54:41Speaker 16: or the protection of their readers, their viewers. They don't care.
- 54:46Speaker 16: You know, they make us more at risk by downplaying
- 54:51Speaker 16: these terrorist attacks. I mean, I think now it's impossible
- 54:54Speaker 16: for them to pretend that we're not suffering from a
- 54:59Speaker 16: rise in Islamic terrorism, and this is something that New
- 55:04Speaker 16: York knows all too well. And yet we have a
- 55:07Speaker 16: mayor who is the chief of the down players. He
- 55:12Speaker 16: posed as if he were the victim of the two
- 55:17Speaker 16: Isis inspired suspects who threw those homemade bombs into a
- 55:22Speaker 16: crowd outside his Grace and Ansen. He was perfectly safe
- 55:25Speaker 16: because he's got a massive detail and the house is
- 55:29Speaker 16: set right back from the street. But still he just
- 55:33Speaker 16: could not bring himself to utter the word terrorism until
- 55:37Speaker 16: two or three days on.
- 55:38Speaker 5: And at the very.
- 55:39Speaker 16: Beginning, he was just railing against what was it like
- 55:43Speaker 16: white supremacy and bigotry and racism because there were these
- 55:49Speaker 16: anti Muslim protesters outside Grace and Ansen.
- 55:52Speaker 14: But the attackers were attacking them.
- 55:55Speaker 16: They were on his side. And you know, this is
- 55:58Speaker 16: a mayor who doesn't get it.
- 56:01Speaker 2: Yeah, but maybe he does get it. Maybe, you know,
- 56:04Speaker 2: like inviting that terrorist sympathizer to dinner at Gracy Mansion
- 56:08Speaker 2: if he wanted to be his friend, maybe talk to
- 56:11Speaker 2: him privately on the phone, but to bring him right
- 56:13Speaker 2: into Gracy Mansion. He's trying to send us a message
- 56:16Speaker 2: of some kind, isn't he?
- 56:18Speaker 16: And then tweet out a photo. It wasn't as if
- 56:20Speaker 16: he was even discreet about it. He invited Mahmood Khalil,
- 56:25Speaker 16: who's the anti Hamas agitator who organized or led the
- 56:30Speaker 16: Columbia protests and to the Trump administration has been trying
- 56:35Speaker 16: to deport and has become a cause celebrity in the
- 56:38Speaker 16: left and ford zoram ma'am dani. This guy is just
- 56:43Speaker 16: a hero and a saint. So he invites him over
- 56:46Speaker 16: and honors him with a special dinner. And that's just
- 56:50Speaker 16: twenty four hours after these two bombs that only by
- 56:54Speaker 16: the grace of God did not explode and kill a name,
- 56:58Speaker 16: dozens of people, police officers.
- 57:01Speaker 2: This is all just in the first few weeks.
- 57:03Speaker 3: This is Mayor.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Then the cop is shotting, he goes to visit the
- 57:06Speaker 2: shooter in the hospital, not the Yeah, so what are
- 57:10Speaker 2: we going to do for the next three and.
- 57:11Speaker 14: A half years, Well, I mean done.
- 57:16Speaker 16: He's just the most obvious manifestation of this sickness and
- 57:19Speaker 16: the Democrat Party.
- 57:20Speaker 5: And you know, as you say, they.
- 57:23Speaker 16: Identify with the persecutor, not the victim. They are soft
- 57:28Speaker 16: on crime because they think that anybody who's locked up
- 57:31Speaker 16: by law enforcement is a victim, and they're victims are
- 57:35Speaker 16: just people that you're just inconvenient truths that you just
- 57:38Speaker 16: want to ignore. And they seem to feel that they
- 57:43Speaker 16: themselves are impervious to any consequences. And I guess when
- 57:47Speaker 16: you control cities like the Democrats do across this country.
- 57:52Speaker 16: They control the greatest cities New York, LA, Chicago, They
- 57:58Speaker 16: control the nation's capital to the point where you cannot Washington,
- 58:03Speaker 16: d C. The Trump administration cannot get a jury that
- 58:08Speaker 16: is unbiased, so they can't really prosecute any of the
- 58:12Speaker 16: cases they want to bring, and they're a sort of
- 58:14Speaker 16: a stalemate. And you know, the Democrats also control the
- 58:19Speaker 16: legal profession, and so they're busy concocting new law fare
- 58:24Speaker 16: while the Trump administration the DOJ is kind of flowing
- 58:29Speaker 16: on the back foot and has a whole bunch of
- 58:31Speaker 16: vipers within the nest.
- 58:34Speaker 2: Miranda Devine. The other media narrative is about Iran. Well,
- 58:38Speaker 2: the president has not explained to us, what do you
- 58:41Speaker 2: need anything explain to you. I think I could see
- 58:43Speaker 2: the purpose of this work, can't you.
- 58:46Speaker 16: I mean, I think it's been crystal clear from the
- 58:50Speaker 16: bombing last year of the nuclear facilities at Porto to
- 58:56Speaker 16: the Saturday that he decided to launch an attack. I
- 59:00Speaker 16: think it's been pretty obvious. I mean, it's actually has
- 59:04Speaker 16: been obvious for almost half a century that Iran is
- 59:07Speaker 16: our enemy, and they make no bones about it. They're
- 59:10Speaker 16: constantly saying death to America. They fund all the proxies
- 59:15Speaker 16: that attack Americans of the battlefield in Iraq and Afghanistan.
- 59:20Speaker 16: They are the masterminds of the IED's that killed and
- 59:25Speaker 16: maimed and left brain injured so many American soldiers. So
- 59:30Speaker 16: we know that they do not mean well to us.
- 59:33Speaker 16: But every other president has, you know, erred on the
- 59:37Speaker 16: side of caution and decided that Iran is too big
- 59:41Speaker 16: a beast to go after, and so they've just tried
- 59:44Speaker 16: to appease them with billions of dollars of cash as
- 59:47Speaker 16: the Barmer administration did, or turn a blind eye, or
- 59:52Speaker 16: kick the can down the road. And Donald Trump's not
- 59:55Speaker 16: a guy to kick the can down the road. So
- 59:57Speaker 16: for good or for ill, we're in it now. And
- 1:00:01Speaker 16: I think it's incumbent on us to support what the
- 1:00:05Speaker 16: administration is doing and just hope they know what they're doing.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: Hey, Miranda, Divine, do we need Obviously we do but
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: can we ever get term limits? You know you got
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: this Clyburn, James Clyburn, he's eighty five running for reelection.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: We really do need term limits, don't we.
- 1:00:21Speaker 16: Yeah, we need term limits, and also we don't need dynasties. Honestly,
- 1:00:25Speaker 16: what is it? Cliburn's daughter apparently is waiting in the
- 1:00:29Speaker 16: team takeover when he finally decides, after what is it
- 1:00:33Speaker 16: seventeen terms that he might take a break. The problem
- 1:00:37Speaker 16: is he has such a stranglehold on that neck of
- 1:00:40Speaker 16: the woods that he'll just get whatever he wants so
- 1:00:43Speaker 16: he'll be able to run again from a coffin.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: Not good, Not good.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: Hey, we love your podcast, Miranda Divine does the great
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: podcast pod Force one. There's soole many great episodes with
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: President Trump. Everybody can go on. Wherever you get your podcast,
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: you can listen to all of them. Who do you
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: have next?
- 1:01:02Speaker 16: So we've got oh, I'm trying to remember. I think
- 1:01:05Speaker 16: it's Brendan Carr, the FCC commissioner. It was going to
- 1:01:12Speaker 16: be James Coma. We're interviewing both, but James Coma's got
- 1:01:18Speaker 16: just had an issue in Kentucky that he's got to stay,
- 1:01:20Speaker 16: So we're not sure if we're going to be able
- 1:01:23Speaker 16: to interview James kma I would love to do that, love.
- 1:01:25Speaker 9: To find out.
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: What he thought of Hillary.
- 1:01:28Speaker 16: Clinton her testimony, and what he thinks of Jill Biden's
- 1:01:33Speaker 16: new book. So we will get to him at some point,
- 1:01:37Speaker 16: but it may not be in time for our next
- 1:01:40Speaker 16: drop on Wednesday.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Of course, one we'll make sure you get Miranda Devine's
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: latest book, The Big Guy. She's written the best books
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: on Joe Biden. The Big Guy is a huge best seller.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: What do you think? What do you think Joe Biden
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: will be in the next year, just still sitting there
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: in Delaware doing nothing.
- 1:01:58Speaker 16: Well, we want obviously their grifts by nature and explains
- 1:02:04Speaker 16: Joe Biden's book. But I don't know. He seems like
- 1:02:10Speaker 16: when he's allowed out, he reminds us of who he is.
- 1:02:14Speaker 16: And he gave a speech the other day in which
- 1:02:16Speaker 16: he told everyone that he's smarter than all of you,
- 1:02:19Speaker 16: and he's always been smarter, and everyone thought that he
- 1:02:22Speaker 16: wasn't smart because he had a stutter, but it actually
- 1:02:24Speaker 16: hid his genius.
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: I don't know why he.
- 1:02:27Speaker 16: Was talking about that, but that's him. It's all about
- 1:02:31Speaker 16: Joe Biden. So I think until his dying breath. He
- 1:02:34Speaker 16: will be lying for America and self agrandizing and telling
- 1:02:39Speaker 16: tall tales.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: And flying commercial all the time. He's the only ex
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: president can't seem to borrow a plane from anybody because
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: he always flying commercial. It's pretty embarrassing.
- 1:02:49Speaker 16: Well, I mean, I think the Democrat donors were furious
- 1:02:52Speaker 16: about the twenty four election with both Joe Biden and
- 1:02:56Speaker 16: Kamala Harris. And Joe Biden saddled the Democrat Party with
- 1:03:00Speaker 16: Kamala Harris because he promised Jim klib and another that
- 1:03:05Speaker 16: he would appoint a woman of color as his VP.
- 1:03:09Speaker 16: And he did that, and he chose probably the stupidest
- 1:03:14Speaker 16: woman of color he could have found in the whole
- 1:03:16Speaker 16: country in Kamila Harris. But that was stuck with her,
- 1:03:19Speaker 16: and she was unelectable. And yet she still has a
- 1:03:21Speaker 16: baton in her knapsack. She's still or is teasing that
- 1:03:25Speaker 16: she's going to run again.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: Say that again. A button in her knapsack.
- 1:03:30Speaker 16: It must be an Australianism bastin, like a leadership batson.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: A baton in her knapsack. I got to use that.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: That's excellent.
- 1:03:38Speaker 16: I didn't realize it. It was a strange Australian.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: I'm afraid it is, but it's great. Well, everybody get
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: Miranda Divine's book, The Big Guy. Make sure you get
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: the podcast wherever you get podcasts, and get pod force
