- 0:35Speaker 2: win at Delta Center and aiming for back to back
- 0:39Speaker 2: wins for the first time since November, we will talk
- 0:42Speaker 2: with Mike Fulda radio play by play voice of the
- 0:46Speaker 2: Mammoth coming up in just a bit. Additionally, here from
- 0:49Speaker 2: Vince Dunn. After the Kraken put together an inspiring comeback
- 0:53Speaker 2: late in period three, eventually finishing off the Los Angeles
- 0:57Speaker 2: Kings in overtime.
- 0:58Speaker 3: For a three to two victory two nine.
- 1:00Speaker 2: It's a go and Done certainly had a lot to
- 1:03Speaker 2: do with this, so it kept the Kraken on pace
- 1:06Speaker 2: with plenty of teams right now still in the middle
- 1:09Speaker 2: of the pack of the Western Conference, their record twelve
- 1:12Speaker 2: ten and six for thirty points, three back of the
- 1:15Speaker 2: cut line in the Western Conference. In this evening's game,
- 1:19Speaker 2: a Mammoth won in more ways than one. With three
- 1:23Speaker 2: teams ahead of the Kraken right now for a playoff spot,
- 1:26Speaker 2: Utah is one of them, standing one point ahead of
- 1:29Speaker 2: the Kraken heading into game twenty nine on the Kraken
- 1:32Speaker 2: side and game thirty three already on the Utah side.
- 1:37Speaker 2: The Mammoth have lost three in a row, but the
- 1:40Speaker 2: Kracking getting back on the winning path two nights ago
- 1:44Speaker 2: when they found a way in the last minute of regulation,
- 1:48Speaker 2: pulling goaltender Joey to cord and embarking on a lay
- 1:52Speaker 2: power play up.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Off the draw Cope Paitar wins at Edmondson around the boards, done,
- 1:56Speaker 4: saves it near corner.
- 1:58Speaker 5: Here's Tobaden to the face off dot sinery.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Passaires he directs the shot home on the power play.
- 2:10Speaker 4: The Seattle pecking tie the Tame two to two, two.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Forty eight twenty four point eight left in this third well.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Seattle loses not draw at the offensive end of the ice,
- 2:22Speaker 5: but it's fits done down inchestside the blue line, keeping
- 2:25Speaker 5: the puck in. He gets it down to Tolvan and Tolvean.
- 2:27Speaker 5: It sells the shot, lets it go. It's a deflection
- 2:30Speaker 5: by Matty Vaniers that ties this game up in two.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Every it's a tolven and across done stems fence gets
- 2:44Speaker 4: it done and over time free two Seattle Well.
- 2:50Speaker 5: A great setup by Jordan Eberley who feeds the puck
- 2:53Speaker 5: over to Toby and Toban waits for Fvitz time to
- 2:55Speaker 5: get in a position for a one timer in the
- 2:57Speaker 5: high slot, slides it over to him. It's Bob crack
- 3:01Speaker 5: and win.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Three to two. Bring on the five kicks.
- 3:05Speaker 2: So that riveting plot twist gave the Kraken a victory
- 3:08Speaker 2: in their first matchup of the season over the Kings,
- 3:11Speaker 2: eradicating an oz five and one skid in the last
- 3:15Speaker 2: six games and Done putting up three points in the contest,
- 3:19Speaker 2: becoming the fourth fastest active defenseman to post two hundred
- 3:23Speaker 2: points with an NHL franchise. He also follows Jared McCann
- 3:27Speaker 2: as a second player in Cracking history to reach two
- 3:31Speaker 2: hundred points with the franchise as well, now putting Done
- 3:35Speaker 2: up to seventeen points on the season right now tied
- 3:38Speaker 2: for second in Crack and scoring.
- 3:41Speaker 3: They can use a little bit more of it.
- 3:42Speaker 2: May be here for this evening as we await the
- 3:45Speaker 2: status of Jared McCann, who left the game lighton period three,
- 3:48Speaker 2: which by the way, led to the Kraken power play.
- 3:51Speaker 2: As he was tangled up with goaltender Anton Forrestburg, McCann's
- 3:55Speaker 2: legs swept out from underneath them. You would need help
- 3:58Speaker 2: getting off toward the dressing room tunnel. Forrestburg given a
- 4:02Speaker 2: two minute tripping penalty and the course of Crack and
- 4:04Speaker 2: cashing in, but also amiss the victory, holding their breath
- 4:08Speaker 2: for one of their top scores. Nonetheless, it was a
- 4:11Speaker 2: win that gave the Crack and a breath of fresh air.
- 4:14Speaker 2: And Done talked more about it after the game with
- 4:16Speaker 2: the media.
- 4:17Speaker 6: I think it was a pretty satisfying game, honestly, Like
- 4:19Speaker 6: I know, the five on five offense was close in there.
- 4:24Speaker 6: We had our chances, and I didn't really see like
- 4:27Speaker 6: a lot of frustration with their team right to the end.
- 4:29Speaker 6: I thought that the guys stay pretty disciplined and really
- 4:31Speaker 6: trust the process all the way to the end. Guys
- 4:33Speaker 6: stuck to it when they weren't getting necessarily results on
- 4:36Speaker 6: the scoreboard for us. But I think overall we can
- 4:40Speaker 6: all feel pretty good about that game. It took everyone
- 4:42Speaker 6: to draw penalties to defend to PK. I'm sure you
- 4:50Speaker 6: notice our PK has changed a little bit too, and
- 4:52Speaker 6: you know, stuff happens. They get the breakaways. It's an
- 4:54Speaker 6: only play by them, and we'll live with those sometimes.
- 4:57Speaker 6: And I thought, Ray, when we bound bounce right back,
- 5:00Speaker 6: we get a good kill to finish it off and
- 5:02Speaker 6: then get a lucky PPR way at the end to
- 5:05Speaker 6: get back in it. So it's just important right now
- 5:08Speaker 6: to to just stick with it all the way to
- 5:10Speaker 6: the end. I think with wins and losses, the way
- 5:12Speaker 6: we've had the games for us, it's it's always like
- 5:14Speaker 6: a one goal or two goal games, so anything can
- 5:16Speaker 6: really happen going both ways. So it's important for us
- 5:19Speaker 6: to just stick with it right to the end. What
- 5:21Speaker 6: are you guys dofferently on that power play?
- 5:23Speaker 3: It's the third time you score in four games.
- 5:27Speaker 6: I love our attack right now. I think we're just
- 5:29Speaker 6: throwing everything at the net. It's it's disappointing when it
- 5:32Speaker 6: gets blocked, but I think that maybe changes the way
- 5:36Speaker 6: that they'll see us in front of them and makes
- 5:40Speaker 6: them not feel so good when they know we're not
- 5:42Speaker 6: just gonna pass it around and look for the highlight
- 5:44Speaker 6: reel seams and things like that. So the guys did
- 5:47Speaker 6: a great job, you see. Uh, you know, it was
- 5:50Speaker 6: kind of a chaotic first power play goal and then
- 5:53Speaker 6: Maddie's goal there, it's not much to it. It's throwing
- 5:56Speaker 6: the puck where where guys are going to the net
- 5:58Speaker 6: and you know eventually it's going to go in for us.
- 6:01Speaker 6: And same thing at the very end. It's not anything
- 6:04Speaker 6: specially drawing up. It's just taking the shot that's there
- 6:07Speaker 6: and you know, hoping good things happen.
- 6:09Speaker 3: How you manage to keep on that well, I think
- 6:16Speaker 3: just reading where the d r.
- 6:17Speaker 6: You know, if it's a left handed guy and on
- 6:20Speaker 6: the inside, it's gonna come out the other side, and
- 6:22Speaker 6: I'm just anticipating that. And I got fortunate it kind
- 6:25Speaker 6: of got glued on the wall and settled down pretty nice.
- 6:28Speaker 6: Sometimes pretty hard on your backhand there, So I got
- 6:30Speaker 6: pretty fortunate that it wasn't too difficult for me to
- 6:33Speaker 6: keep it. And then you know, the other guys do do.
- 6:35Speaker 3: All the work for me.
- 6:36Speaker 6: Just got to pass it around and you know, let
- 6:39Speaker 6: them try to finish it, and they did a great job.
- 6:42Speaker 3: You were for TV.
- 6:44Speaker 5: You censor your comments or did you speak just the
- 6:48Speaker 5: way you always speak?
- 6:50Speaker 6: I think, uh, it's always kind of in the back
- 6:52Speaker 6: of your mind. But you know, it was a pretty
- 6:55Speaker 6: friendly match there. I think, you know, the reps that
- 6:57Speaker 6: we had and the team that we're playing, it's a
- 6:59Speaker 6: fun team to kind of chat with and bicker with,
- 7:01Speaker 6: and a very competitive atmosphere whenever we play them. So
- 7:06Speaker 6: you know, that's that's the fun part, and it's it's
- 7:08Speaker 6: good to kind of get that kind of attention out
- 7:11Speaker 6: and let people kind of see the you know, the
- 7:13Speaker 6: ends of the game. So you know, I don't mind
- 7:15Speaker 6: doing that sometimes. It's pretty fun to be a part
- 7:18Speaker 6: of it and being the guy miked up.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Yeah, tough to see Jared get hurt on the play
- 7:21Speaker 3: that Yeah, the layer.
- 7:22Speaker 6: Yeah, it's been chaos.
- 7:24Speaker 3: I haven't even stepped out of the room.
- 7:25Speaker 6: Really. I got my brother over there, so you know,
- 7:28Speaker 6: it's just a lot right now. I don't really know
- 7:30Speaker 6: what's going on with him. So, you know, he played
- 7:32Speaker 6: a really, really good game. I was telling them all game.
- 7:35Speaker 6: I mean he made some elite plays. He was feeling
- 7:37Speaker 6: good with the puck in Obviously, shooting the puck is
- 7:40Speaker 6: what we need him to do every single night, So
- 7:41Speaker 6: I hope it's nothing too bad.
- 7:43Speaker 2: First matchup coming up and all a part of the
- 7:46Speaker 2: dad's trip. This should sound familiar because the last team,
- 7:49Speaker 2: the Utah Man the Face also had a parents' trip
- 7:52Speaker 2: also in there as well, the mom's side of it.
- 7:55Speaker 2: So what do you know, right back into Utah for
- 7:57Speaker 2: the second round of this, I guess anyway. Mike Foulton
- 8:00Speaker 2: joining us here radio played by a play voice for
- 8:02Speaker 2: the Utah Mammoth ninety seven to five FM twelve ADAMKSL
- 8:07Speaker 2: Sports Owners where you can hear him Mike.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Great to hear from you.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Looking forward to having you back out in these parts
- 8:13Speaker 2: here sooner than later. But before I get into the
- 8:17Speaker 2: meat of this first off, well done with the Mammoth nickname,
- 8:21Speaker 2: the logo pops, the jersey's pop. The name sticks like glue.
- 8:26Speaker 2: But what's been the overall reception once this took over,
- 8:29Speaker 2: replacing effectively what was Utah Hockey Club.
- 8:32Speaker 7: I think people are pretty fired up about it, and
- 8:35Speaker 7: it was a unique process because it was opened up
- 8:39Speaker 7: to the public. It was a fan boat. It wasn't
- 8:42Speaker 7: just created in some lab behind the curtains. This was
- 8:46Speaker 7: kind of a whole state of Utah coming together and say, hey,
- 8:49Speaker 7: this is what we want. I think I think hearing
- 8:52Speaker 7: from the power the d at the league office and
- 8:55Speaker 7: maybe even some folks higher up in the organization, I
- 8:59Speaker 7: think sentiment is that was awesome. It was really rewarding.
- 9:04Speaker 7: We have what we want. Let's never do that again,
- 9:07Speaker 7: because there's a lot that had to that had to
- 9:10Speaker 7: go into it. But they absolutely nailed the logo. Everybody
- 9:14Speaker 7: looks great in Mountain Blue, and it's been fun to
- 9:18Speaker 7: go to different arenas and see that blue stand out
- 9:20Speaker 7: in the crowd.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Yeah, certainly.
- 9:22Speaker 2: I mean I can say, you know, just from the
- 9:24Speaker 2: past teams on my resume and the past stops, if
- 9:27Speaker 2: you can combine black and glacier blue and white, you're
- 9:30Speaker 2: doing a pretty good job. Shout out there to the
- 9:32Speaker 2: Alaska Aces who are no longer with this, but still
- 9:35Speaker 2: those colors just certainly pop. But great to have you
- 9:38Speaker 2: and a strong start that was eight and two just
- 9:41Speaker 2: seemed like a dream. And the team recently hitting the skids,
- 9:44Speaker 2: and I think we all know that by now it's
- 9:46Speaker 2: a condensed schedule, injuries will happen, and this is the
- 9:50Speaker 2: way that the NHL rolls in twenty twenty five and
- 9:52Speaker 2: twenty six. So you're still hanging around with the picture
- 9:55Speaker 2: right now. You're doing something, all right, But I mean,
- 9:58Speaker 2: I think you could point to a crunch in the schedule,
- 10:00Speaker 2: which I think caught them pretty good. But how do
- 10:03Speaker 2: you look at this here with the challenges that they
- 10:05Speaker 2: have faced recently.
- 10:07Speaker 7: Yeah, I think first of all, even despite the last
- 10:10Speaker 7: couple of losses, Utah still played really good games. And
- 10:13Speaker 7: we've kind of had a run of that back through
- 10:15Speaker 7: November where the Mammoths have played really well. It came
- 10:18Speaker 7: out with great intensity, They've shown a willingness to go
- 10:21Speaker 7: to the dirty areas of the ice and all those cliches,
- 10:24Speaker 7: and yet they can't find a way to come out
- 10:27Speaker 7: on top like they were back in October. The Mamoth
- 10:31Speaker 7: are seven games below five hundred since that eight and
- 10:35Speaker 7: two start, and since that seven game win streak we
- 10:39Speaker 7: saw in November, Utah really struggled on the power play.
- 10:42Speaker 7: A big part of that was just the team wasn't
- 10:45Speaker 7: generating a lot of power play opportunities, so there wasn't
- 10:48Speaker 7: much rhythm in that regard. There were a few games
- 10:51Speaker 7: that I think the goaltenders, both for Alva Malka and
- 10:54Speaker 7: VTech Vanichick would have liked to have back. And when
- 10:57Speaker 7: you add that on to some of the power play struggles,
- 11:01Speaker 7: it kind of propagated into a couple losing skids here
- 11:04Speaker 7: and there, and you know, you throw a six game
- 11:07Speaker 7: road trip in there, six games in nine days, and
- 11:10Speaker 7: all of a sudden, the man has had the worst
- 11:12Speaker 7: record in the league through November. But on the flip
- 11:16Speaker 7: side of that, the power play has now scored goals
- 11:19Speaker 7: in three of the last five games. We're seeing great
- 11:22Speaker 7: goaltending from Corel ba Melca, probably his best four games
- 11:26Speaker 7: stretch of the season that started with a seven zero
- 11:28Speaker 7: shutout win against the Anaheim Ducks last week, and a
- 11:32Speaker 7: lot of other indicators are trending up. When you kind
- 11:35Speaker 7: of open the hood and look at the analytics, it's
- 11:38Speaker 7: just the team has to figure out a way to
- 11:42Speaker 7: get the shift across the finish line at the end.
- 11:45Speaker 7: They've had a couple of heartbreakers in the last two
- 11:47Speaker 7: losses against La and Florida.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Last time the Kraken visited Utah.
- 11:51Speaker 2: It was back in April, and it was a game
- 11:53Speaker 2: where Philip grew Bauer, Joey decortold me and grew Bauer
- 11:57Speaker 2: fell ill and the cord was press into starting duty
- 12:00Speaker 2: at the eleventh hour and Utah got into fifth gear
- 12:03Speaker 2: pretty quick and the crack and couldn't get out of
- 12:05Speaker 2: first gear from the jump. They will non see Logan
- 12:08Speaker 2: Cooley in this game.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Out of the lineup.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Two leg injuries and short order and he'll be out indefinitely. Mike,
- 12:15Speaker 2: what are they missing with him out and how are
- 12:18Speaker 2: they working on trying to repair the holes with them
- 12:20Speaker 2: out right now?
- 12:21Speaker 7: Well, he's a huge missy piece and he still leads
- 12:24Speaker 7: the team in goals as we stand right now, he's
- 12:27Speaker 7: missed the last three games. And it's actually funny, as
- 12:30Speaker 7: we just started recording Mike news came down from the
- 12:34Speaker 7: Utah Twitter account that he's going to be out eight weeks.
- 12:38Speaker 7: So we just now have a timeline on that that
- 12:41Speaker 7: basically takes us all the way up until the Olympic break.
- 12:45Speaker 7: So the Mammuthter Olympic break a little buffer for Cooley
- 12:49Speaker 7: as he comes back hopefully for the last twenty five
- 12:52Speaker 7: games of the year right after the Olympic break in February.
- 12:56Speaker 7: But he's Utah's most creative and dynamic player, and he
- 13:01Speaker 7: also plays that crucial role of center where the Mammoths
- 13:05Speaker 7: are a little thin compared to some of the other
- 13:07Speaker 7: contenders in the Western Conference. Nick Schmaltz has moved over
- 13:11Speaker 7: from wing to center. That's something that he's done a
- 13:14Speaker 7: little bit throughout his career. Hasn't done it full time
- 13:18Speaker 7: for the last four seasons, but he's playing a pivot
- 13:20Speaker 7: role with Clayton Keller on one side of them at
- 13:24Speaker 7: JJ Fittka on the other. When that line has a
- 13:27Speaker 7: puck in the offensive zone and when they're humming boys,
- 13:30Speaker 7: they are fun to watch because they can zip it
- 13:32Speaker 7: around and there's a ton of skill. But not having Logan,
- 13:37Speaker 7: Logan and Coolie in the lineup takes a lot of
- 13:39Speaker 7: spark out of out of Utah's game and to the
- 13:43Speaker 7: rest of the crew to make that up. And the
- 13:46Speaker 7: Mamots have played the last two games without him really
- 13:48Speaker 7: well here on home mikes, and a lot of that
- 13:51Speaker 7: has been due to some line shakeups we've seen from
- 13:54Speaker 7: head coach Andre Turney. But obviously everybody knows the Mammoths
- 13:58Speaker 7: are a much more dangerous team, much more exciting team
- 14:01Speaker 7: than my better number ninety two.
- 14:04Speaker 3: He was their leading goal scorer with fourteen. He's out.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Dylan Gunther, former Seattle Thunderbird is next with thirteen. Right
- 14:11Speaker 2: now Clayton Keller, though, is still a constant here in
- 14:14Speaker 2: this organization. Twenty eight points leads him again in scoring.
- 14:17Speaker 2: No surprise there, and he went through a heartbreaking period
- 14:20Speaker 2: last month, Mike, he lost his father. What do you
- 14:23Speaker 2: think people had to understand with the weight he carried
- 14:26Speaker 2: and the magnitude of the game he played to score
- 14:29Speaker 2: a goal in his first game since his father passed.
- 14:32Speaker 7: Well, I think it's really weighed on him, and you
- 14:36Speaker 7: wouldn't necessarily know just from being around him. I think
- 14:40Speaker 7: he loved the game first and foremost, so he definitely
- 14:43Speaker 7: wanted to play, and his dad, Brian loved loved locking
- 14:47Speaker 7: him play. His dad kind of helped make a rank
- 14:51Speaker 7: in their unfinished basement, and so their basement walls all
- 14:54Speaker 7: dented up, like you know, like a lot of families
- 14:58Speaker 7: who have raised hockey players. But it was a really
- 15:02Speaker 7: emotion few days in the aftermath. We got the news
- 15:05Speaker 7: on Thanksgiving and Clayton played the next day in Dallas,
- 15:09Speaker 7: was super charged in that game, playing on a lot
- 15:12Speaker 7: of adrenaline, and then a couple of days later he
- 15:15Speaker 7: went back to his hometown of Saint Louis and played
- 15:19Speaker 7: the Blues there, and at that time you could kind
- 15:22Speaker 7: of see it had been a few days since the
- 15:23Speaker 7: news and the whole team was really carrying that emotion.
- 15:28Speaker 7: And there's been a bunch of guys that have been
- 15:29Speaker 7: with Clayton the last few years. You think of Nick
- 15:32Speaker 7: Schmaltz and Lawson crowds who are watching their watching their teammate,
- 15:36Speaker 7: their captain, and their friends go through just a really,
- 15:40Speaker 7: really difficult time. And the tragedy didn't just weigh on Clayton.
- 15:46Speaker 7: If you go back and listen to some of the
- 15:47Speaker 7: post game sound it waited on the rest of the
- 15:50Speaker 7: team as well. But Clayton loved the game and his dad, Brian,
- 15:55Speaker 7: loved the game as well, and a couple of games back,
- 15:57Speaker 7: Clayton got a goal and kind of pointed up to
- 15:59Speaker 7: heaven and Brian's walking with the best seat in the house.
- 16:02Speaker 7: But it's definitely been tough for Youasoner.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Mike Folter joining us again. Radio play by a play
- 16:07Speaker 2: voice of the Utah Mammoth here on Cracking this morning.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Mike All of a sudden, Andre Tourney is the league's
- 16:12Speaker 2: fourth longest tenure coach. It's crazy here to consider, and
- 16:15Speaker 2: he was higher back in twenty twenty one when this
- 16:17Speaker 2: team was still the Arizona Coyotes playing in not just
- 16:21Speaker 2: one but two buildings prior. Even in this tough stretch,
- 16:25Speaker 2: this team is still getting high marks for their effort.
- 16:28Speaker 2: And this team's got a young core as well. How
- 16:31Speaker 2: much more digging does he have to do to unearth
- 16:34Speaker 2: their full potential?
- 16:35Speaker 7: Yeah, I think that's what we're all trying to figure out,
- 16:38Speaker 7: because every time that this team gets called out, whether
- 16:42Speaker 7: it's by Bear or whether it's by one of the
- 16:45Speaker 7: veterans of this group, there's a response, and that's what
- 16:48Speaker 7: you want to see, and that's what tells you that
- 16:50Speaker 7: they're still full buy in with this crew. Mammosata had
- 16:54Speaker 7: a bad loss six to three against San Jose the
- 16:57Speaker 7: other week, and they had a spirited pro the next
- 17:01Speaker 7: day with lots of one way conversations from Andre Turney
- 17:05Speaker 7: to the group. And what happened the next game, Well,
- 17:08Speaker 7: they came out and they won seven nothing against an
- 17:11Speaker 7: Anaheim Duck team that at the time was the second
- 17:14Speaker 7: best team in the Pacific Division, actively leading the Pacific Division,
- 17:18Speaker 7: i should say. And so when you see that type
- 17:21Speaker 7: of response, that tells you that the coach still has
- 17:24Speaker 7: a handle on the group. And I think one thing
- 17:27Speaker 7: that I've come to appreciate about Bear is his steadiness
- 17:32Speaker 7: and his commitment to the process. And I think you
- 17:35Speaker 7: need that when you're trying to come out of a rebuild.
- 17:38Speaker 7: But this Mammoth team is clearly still learning how to win.
- 17:42Speaker 7: And as we've seen from the last couple of games,
- 17:44Speaker 7: you can play a really good game, and the NHL
- 17:47Speaker 7: is so competitive, especially this year, you can play your
- 17:49Speaker 7: A game and all that means is that it's going
- 17:52Speaker 7: to be a one shot game in the third period.
- 17:55Speaker 7: Just because you bring your A game does not mean
- 17:58Speaker 7: that you're going to win. The game is just too
- 18:00Speaker 7: good for that.
- 18:01Speaker 2: He Finally, Delta Center's undergone a renovation, and what I
- 18:04Speaker 2: really appreciate about it is that it maintains its soul,
- 18:09Speaker 2: It maintains its foundation as one of the smaller venues
- 18:12Speaker 2: here in the league and kind of out of here
- 18:14Speaker 2: to the league's tapestry of uniqueness when it comes to
- 18:17Speaker 2: different venues across the NHL. Certainly Climb the Pledge Arena
- 18:21Speaker 2: fits that mold. But to you, what's the biggest change
- 18:24Speaker 2: MIC and what's your favorite part about the makeover?
- 18:26Speaker 7: Well, the favorite part is the dvantage point because where
- 18:30Speaker 7: we call the game from and wherever Fitsy is going
- 18:33Speaker 7: to call the game from, we're right at the top
- 18:35Speaker 7: of the lower bowl, so you're really as close as
- 18:39Speaker 7: you can possibly get in the NHL to the action.
- 18:41Speaker 7: At a lot of places, we're up in a gondola
- 18:44Speaker 7: like a Climate Pledge, which is at a great vantage point.
- 18:47Speaker 7: But sometimes, like in Edmonton, you're a million miles.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Away, halfway to Red Deer.
- 18:53Speaker 7: Yeah, I just guys will be calling the game from Regina.
- 18:56Speaker 7: But at Delta Center you are right there and it's
- 19:00Speaker 7: not just easier to see, but you can feel the
- 19:03Speaker 7: intensity of the crowd as well. It's a very steep arena.
- 19:08Speaker 7: It's not as steep for basketball, but because the hockey
- 19:11Speaker 7: rink is bigger than the basketball floor, the stands are
- 19:14Speaker 7: actually on risers and so the angles of the seat
- 19:17Speaker 7: change for hockey compared to basketball. So it's very very steep,
- 19:22Speaker 7: which can make it very very loud at times too,
- 19:26Speaker 7: especially when the Mountain Blue are rolling. But the home
- 19:30Speaker 7: team hasn't hasn't lost in this all time series yet.
- 19:33Speaker 7: Between Battle and Utah, it should be a fun one
- 19:37Speaker 7: here Friday night.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I remember, ever it fits you and al Kiniski raving
- 19:41Speaker 2: about the proximity of the ice cream machine and the
- 19:44Speaker 2: ice cream Man to what was their press base last year.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I'm not sure if that has changed. If it has,
- 19:49Speaker 2: please give them a hug for me, and one of
- 19:51Speaker 2: these days I'll look forward to making the trip out there, Mike,
- 19:53Speaker 2: Thank you man.
- 19:54Speaker 7: Of course, Chick fil A is nearby as well. Dinners
- 19:57Speaker 7: on me whenever it's in the house.
- 19:59Speaker 2: All right on bottoms up? Why not Mike Folta joining
- 20:03Speaker 2: us once again. Mammoth Radio play by play voice says
- 20:06Speaker 2: the Kracking getting set for one of three matchups on
- 20:09Speaker 2: the season here with Utah and can the Kraken finally
- 20:13Speaker 2: break a trend in this head to head series? Last
- 20:15Speaker 2: year the home team won every game in the head
- 20:18Speaker 2: to head series, and this time the Kraken looking to
- 20:21Speaker 2: turn tables after they took a seven to one loss
- 20:24Speaker 2: and their only visited to Delta Center last week, but
- 20:27Speaker 2: as we pointed out, the Kraken with some extra energy
- 20:31Speaker 2: and family presence on the trip. This game also marking
- 20:35Speaker 2: the final leg of the Fathers and Mentor's trip, and
- 20:38Speaker 2: we caught up with plenty of Kraken players with plenty
- 20:41Speaker 2: of great stories. Vince done with his brother along here
- 20:44Speaker 2: for the ride. Brandon Montur has his father in on
- 20:47Speaker 2: the trip as well, plenty of players also sharing similar testimonies,
- 20:52Speaker 2: and the Kraken trying to capitalize off a little something
- 20:55Speaker 2: extra here in this one off stop before they come
- 20:58Speaker 2: back home for two in a row against the Buffalo
- 21:01Speaker 2: Sabers and the Colorado Avalanche once again. Utah coming off
- 21:05Speaker 2: a four to two loss to the Los Angeles Kings.
- 21:07Speaker 2: They have hit the skids recently after beginning of the
- 21:11Speaker 2: year eight and two. They are six thirteen and three
- 21:14Speaker 2: since October twenty eight, but they still boast plenty of
- 21:18Speaker 2: top end firepower even with the loss of Logan Cooley.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Dylan Gunther, the former Seattle Thunderbird, has goals in back
- 21:26Speaker 2: to back games. He leads him with thirteen goals on
- 21:28Speaker 2: the season. Clayton Keller right now no surprise, top of
- 21:31Speaker 2: the pack for Utah, scoring with twenty eight points on
- 21:34Speaker 2: the campaign. Without question, he's a go to guy the
- 21:37Speaker 2: Kraken want to go after defensively, who leads all active
- 21:40Speaker 2: players on the Mammoth roster against the Kraken with ten
- 21:43Speaker 2: points in twelve games.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Gonna be a fun one here this evening.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Hope you can join us once again if you're around
- 21:49Speaker 2: the area at Tom's Watch Bar right across from Climb
- 21:52Speaker 2: the Pledge Arena for our watch party airtime opening up
- 21:56Speaker 2: at five thirty. Ever it fits you al Katiski at
- 21:59Speaker 2: Delta Center with the call that opens up little past
- 22:02Speaker 2: six pm Pacific all across the Global Credit Union crake
- 22:05Speaker 2: In Audio Network. Hey, thanks again to Mike Folter for
- 22:08Speaker 2: joining us and for kracking this morning. I'm Mike Benton.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Enjoy the game. You're home for the Kraken.
