- 1:00Speaker 4: Juicy Scoop.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. All right, let's get
- 1:06Speaker 2: into what has been going on. All right, Lil Nas
- 1:11Speaker 2: had quite a weekend on Ventura Boulevard in the Valley.
- 1:16Speaker 2: And he was arrested and charged with four felonies. I
- 1:21Speaker 2: guess he did resist arrest. and possibly touched an officer.
- 1:28Speaker 2: That's where those come from. And also I think public
- 1:31Speaker 2: like nudity. This is what happened. My understanding is he
- 1:35Speaker 2: was strutting up and down Ventura Boulevard in some adorable
- 1:40Speaker 2: white cowboy boots and just white underwear. But the body's banging.
- 1:46Speaker 2: And as someone who has lived close to Ventura Boulevard,
- 1:52Speaker 2: and especially in the last five years, I would not
- 1:55Speaker 2: have batted an eye. That's another day in the life
- 1:59Speaker 2: of living in Los Angeles of someone talking to themselves, strutting,
- 2:05Speaker 2: or I mean, that's an outfit that you'd wear to
- 2:07Speaker 2: Burning Man, quite honestly, which is right around the corner
- 2:09Speaker 2: and still my worst nightmare. Please don't ever invite me.
- 2:12Speaker 2: And there was just a big wind sandstorm that happened
- 2:15Speaker 2: and I'll never understand the appeal. But anyway, he's walking
- 2:20Speaker 2: down and you know, it's a hot summer night. The
- 2:22Speaker 2: valley gets hot. what's the problem here? But I guess
- 2:26Speaker 2: somebody thought the underwear were like counted as nudity or
- 2:32Speaker 2: that he didn't seem well. So they called the cops. Honestly,
- 2:36Speaker 2: I don't know anyone that would have called the cops
- 2:38Speaker 2: that lives in the Valley that would have seen someone
- 2:40Speaker 2: like this, unless you might've known he was Lil Nas.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Then when, by the time the cops comes, there's footage of,
- 2:46Speaker 2: he got rid of the underwear. And, but still again,
- 2:52Speaker 2: not something you haven't seen if you've lived in Los
- 2:54Speaker 2: Angeles for the last five years, of someone just buck naked,
- 2:58Speaker 2: going to the bathroom, whatever. But he wasn't doing any
- 3:02Speaker 2: of that. He was just walking, just, you know, having fun,
- 3:05Speaker 2: talking about who's coming to the party or something. So
- 3:09Speaker 2: after little Nas was arrested, they did keep him in
- 3:14Speaker 2: prison or jail. Over the weekend, he had a hearing.
- 3:17Speaker 2: He's out. now, and originally they thought he was high.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I don't really know what happened personally when I saw
- 3:24Speaker 2: the video. I didn't think he was acting that crazy,
- 3:29Speaker 2: but then again, I told you what my experience has
- 3:32Speaker 2: been with people on Ventura Boulevard. So I hope he's okay.
- 3:37Speaker 2: It's giving a little Britney Spears. It's giving, you know,
- 3:41Speaker 2: just wanting to be dancing and free on the streets.
- 3:44Speaker 2: So hopefully he's okay. There's that. Brittany of the Valley
- 3:51Speaker 2: is appearing to have a boyfriend that showed up at
- 3:55Speaker 2: an event with her, and he too is a father
- 3:58Speaker 2: of a couple kids. And in one of some posts,
- 4:03Speaker 2: apparently his wife commented, this is coming from the Vanderpump
- 4:08Speaker 2: Rules party. They have a big Instagram account where they
- 4:12Speaker 2: cover everything Vanderpump. And the son is who reported that
- 4:17Speaker 2: she was seen talking to this guy. And, you know,
- 4:20Speaker 2: he looks cute, some tattoos, you know, age appropriate for her.
- 4:24Speaker 2: And his wife, who kind of is similar in looks
- 4:28Speaker 2: to Brittany, commented, like, he's still married and everything. But
- 4:33Speaker 2: the story is that he and his wife have been
- 4:37Speaker 2: separated for at least seven months. We know Brittany and
- 4:42Speaker 2: Jax have been separated for over a year. It does
- 4:46Speaker 2: take a while to get a divorce. So I don't
- 4:50Speaker 2: think it's really that juicy that people can date other
- 4:54Speaker 2: people while they're going headed towards divorce. And also they
- 5:01Speaker 2: discovered that several of Brittany's good friends who are cast
- 5:05Speaker 2: members are following him. So it tells me that he
- 5:08Speaker 2: is well-liked. I think Sheena and Kristen Doty followed him.
- 5:12Speaker 2: So this is what will be exciting. If we're going
- 5:15Speaker 2: to follow these people and what their life is in
- 5:19Speaker 2: the Valley, raising young kids, co-parenting, being separated, you're going
- 5:23Speaker 2: to date other people. So we'll see if he makes
- 5:26Speaker 2: an appearance on the show. Some sad news, but not unexpected.
- 5:33Speaker 2: In the case that I covered last week, about this
- 5:37Speaker 2: couple who claimed to have had their child kidnapped outside
- 5:43Speaker 2: of a Big Five in Yucaipa. If you recall, right
- 5:47Speaker 2: off the bat, from the moment we saw their press conference,
- 5:51Speaker 2: everyone was very suspicious of this couple with their story.
- 5:55Speaker 2: The mother claimed that she was changing her seven-month-old son
- 5:59Speaker 2: in the backseat of her car when someone said, hola,
- 6:02Speaker 2: and punched her. And she fell to the floor. She
- 6:05Speaker 2: said floor, not ground, which I thought was interesting. And
- 6:08Speaker 2: when she came to, the baby was gone. And in
- 6:11Speaker 2: this particular dark part of the parking lot, which happened
- 6:14Speaker 2: at 8 p.m., there were no surveillance cameras. So no
- 6:16Speaker 2: one could see if this happened or not or if
- 6:20Speaker 2: anybody was there. They didn't issue an Amber Alert. They
- 6:24Speaker 2: found out that the dad had a previous record of
- 6:28Speaker 2: child abuse on another child where there was brain damage ensued.
- 6:32Speaker 2: How this guy is even out after something like that
- 6:35Speaker 2: with other children is truly shocking. Sadly, the son looked
- 6:41Speaker 2: like he had some type of special needs. They have
- 6:45Speaker 2: not found him. The wife didn't want to take, the
- 6:50Speaker 2: mother didn't want to take a lie detector test. And
- 6:54Speaker 2: they have been arrested. Both of them have been arrested.
- 6:56Speaker 2: And the latest as of this recording is the father
- 7:00Speaker 2: was seen with police in a field. We are assuming
- 7:07Speaker 2: that maybe he was showing them where the body might
- 7:10Speaker 2: be very sadly. So, you know, all of our suspicions
- 7:15Speaker 2: were correct right off the bat that this just none
- 7:17Speaker 2: of it made sense. And I want to do a
- 7:20Speaker 2: follow up on that. Okay. Real Housewives of OC. I
- 7:27Speaker 2: will be including, after I talk about this, my interview
- 7:31Speaker 2: with Gretchen and Slade, first time they came on the show.
- 7:35Speaker 2: We did record it. I did give a preview of
- 7:38Speaker 2: it to my Patreon people. And it's been very well received.
- 7:42Speaker 2: If you didn't hear it there, you can hear it now.
- 7:46Speaker 2: And what makes it really juicy and interesting, if you're
- 7:50Speaker 2: not following this season of Real Housewife OC or this
- 7:53Speaker 2: at all, you're going to want to listen to this interview.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Because when I cover housewife stuff, I always try to
- 7:59Speaker 2: do it in a way that you don't need to
- 8:00Speaker 2: be really watching the show because it's very relatable. And
- 8:04Speaker 2: this involves a very long history between Gretchen and Tamara Judge.
- 8:12Speaker 2: She first came on the show in season four, or
- 8:15Speaker 2: I think, yeah, I think it was four, and Tamara
- 8:18Speaker 2: had been on for a season prior to that. I'm
- 8:20Speaker 2: not exactly sure. But right from the start, it seemed
- 8:23Speaker 2: like Tamara kind of had it out for Gretchen, and
- 8:27Speaker 2: Gretchen naively thought that Tamara would be a friend to her.
- 8:32Speaker 2: And we get into the history of how the show
- 8:35Speaker 2: started with her now life partner and father of her child, Slade.
- 8:41Speaker 2: how the show actually began when Slade was on with
- 8:43Speaker 2: a previous girlfriend. It's very juicy. But what Gretchen wanted
- 8:49Speaker 2: to do on the show was really explain what has
- 8:52Speaker 2: happened this season, which is this newer cast member, she's
- 8:58Speaker 2: only been on two seasons, Katie, went to a blog,
- 9:05Speaker 2: they call them bloggers, podcasters, meme accounts, whatever, and asked
- 9:11Speaker 2: her to have lunch, this woman named Kiki. And at
- 9:15Speaker 2: that lunch or dinner, she spilled all the juice that
- 9:19Speaker 2: she had collected from her castmates. Katie brought it like
- 9:23Speaker 2: a silver platter. This is all my opinion. Kiki then
- 9:28Speaker 2: went and told other people that do what we do,
- 9:33Speaker 2: whether they're legit journalists, authors, podcasters. I think the line
- 9:37Speaker 2: is really blurry. And I don't think anybody that talks
- 9:41Speaker 2: to someone and is told not to tell, if they
- 9:45Speaker 2: go and tell, I don't think that makes you a,
- 9:48Speaker 2: you know, a journalist or someone of high integrity, whatever.
- 9:52Speaker 2: It's all Bravo stuff. I mean, this isn't a criminal case.
- 9:55Speaker 2: So the fans are making it seem like it, and
- 10:00Speaker 2: Gretchen is on trial. So Gretchen really wanted to clear
- 10:03Speaker 2: the air what happened. Basically, what happened was 17 years
- 10:08Speaker 2: ago on the show, or whatever it was, a long
- 10:11Speaker 2: time ago, Gretchen was new to the show and she
- 10:15Speaker 2: was engaged to an older man named Jeff, who she
- 10:20Speaker 2: gets into that in the interview of how they met
- 10:22Speaker 2: and what their love affair was like, who had cancer
- 10:25Speaker 2: he has since passed. They presented her as the gold
- 10:29Speaker 2: digging young harlot, whatever, on the show. And Tamara really
- 10:35Speaker 2: was trying to, I think, get that out there. when
- 10:39Speaker 2: she says, did you go to Bass Lake? You went
- 10:42Speaker 2: to Bass Lake. Like Gretchen can never have one day
- 10:45Speaker 2: off or do anything fun while her fiance is suffering
- 10:48Speaker 2: with cancer. And it was like, but I can't remember
- 10:52Speaker 2: what came first or what, but they, they have this
- 10:54Speaker 2: infamous night and Tamara has a dinner party. And I,
- 11:00Speaker 2: Now we're seeing the scenes. Everyone's putting up the scenes
- 11:03Speaker 2: again of this night, which if this aired today, you
- 11:07Speaker 2: would be hands down canceled. I mean, basically, Tamara says,
- 11:13Speaker 2: we are going to get Gretchen wasted, naked wasted. And
- 11:17Speaker 2: I have my 22-year-old son, Ryan, bartending. And the producers
- 11:23Speaker 2: show us footage throughout the night of them plowing tequila
- 11:27Speaker 2: shots into Gretchen. in which she says, I've been at
- 11:32Speaker 2: the hospital for, you know, this amount of time, you know,
- 11:35Speaker 2: this is, so it's like, she's probably sleep deprived. She
- 11:37Speaker 2: probably hasn't been out or had fun in a while.
- 11:41Speaker 2: And there's cameras and, you know, she's getting all this
- 11:43Speaker 2: attention and drinks are being sent, given to her at
- 11:46Speaker 2: this small dinner party at Tamara's house. Lynn Curtin, a
- 11:51Speaker 2: cast member says to her, you know, slow down. Like,
- 11:54Speaker 2: you know, you need to drink some water. Gina Kino
- 11:58Speaker 2: is like, what the hell is going on here? Looking
- 12:00Speaker 2: at the producers, like what the fuck is happening? Gretchen's
- 12:03Speaker 2: getting more drunk. Ryan, the 22 year old son is,
- 12:07Speaker 2: you know, coming around and really, really flirting with her.
- 12:10Speaker 2: And she's kind of slurring her words. And then he
- 12:13Speaker 2: follows her into the bathroom and they have the whole exchange.
- 12:17Speaker 2: We hear it because they've got their mics on. Gretchen
- 12:21Speaker 2: says no to his advances numerous times. It's really quite shocking. Numerous,
- 12:27Speaker 2: numerous times. And she's like, you're cute. You know, you're attractive,
- 12:31Speaker 2: but I have a very nice fiance. No, don't try.
- 12:34Speaker 5: Stop.
- 12:35Speaker 2: And he's like, just one more kiss. Just one more kiss.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I mean, so predatory. I mean, no way if this
- 12:40Speaker 2: was happening today would producers not go right in there
- 12:44Speaker 2: and take her out. And, you know, but this is
- 12:47Speaker 2: this is a long time ago. In also in the episode.
- 12:52Speaker 2: then we see that Lynn Kirtner husband say, we will
- 12:56Speaker 2: take Gretchen home. And Tamara says, I offered her a
- 13:00Speaker 2: cab or to stay at my house and she'd rather
- 13:02Speaker 2: stay at my house. So she, and then Gretchen says
- 13:06Speaker 2: in a, I mean, Tamara says in a confessional, Gretchen
- 13:08Speaker 2: stayed at my house. I think that's really important. Cut
- 13:12Speaker 2: to all these years later, Gretchen and Katie off camera,
- 13:17Speaker 2: Have a meal with Jen and Ryan. And I'm sure
- 13:20Speaker 2: in discussing and catching up on her history with the castmates,
- 13:24Speaker 2: she tells the many stories that she believes has happened
- 13:28Speaker 2: with Tamara and maybe the other housewives. And this story
- 13:31Speaker 2: gets told. Katie then goes and meets with this girl, Kiki. Now,
- 13:39Speaker 2: I have heard personally from like 10 to 12 other
- 13:43Speaker 2: people that Katie has also DM'd people like this, that
- 13:48Speaker 2: anybody that has Bravo in their meme account, Katie has
- 13:51Speaker 2: gotten a hold of you. Either talked to you on
- 13:53Speaker 2: the phone, met with you in person, DM'd you, sent
- 13:57Speaker 2: you articles or all of the above. I don't know
- 14:00Speaker 2: why Katie thought this was a great idea, but I
- 14:03Speaker 2: think she just wanted to get Anybody in the Bravo
- 14:07Speaker 2: universe on her side because she was so pissed that
- 14:11Speaker 2: Emily and Heather brought up that she did not have
- 14:15Speaker 2: legal custody of her children on the last reunion, which
- 14:19Speaker 2: I do think was a pretty low blow by their part.
- 14:22Speaker 2: So in sharing all the scoop at lunch, she tells
- 14:27Speaker 2: Kiki allegedly that Gretchen was so wasted that night that
- 14:32Speaker 2: she had to go to the hospital the next day.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Then that story gets relayed. Then Kiki goes and tells
- 14:42Speaker 2: a couple other people. And then those couple other people
- 14:45Speaker 2: tell Tamara that this story is going around. And now
- 14:49Speaker 2: it's that Gretchen said that she was roofied and went
- 14:54Speaker 2: to the hospital. Cut to Tamara sits on it for weeks.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Now they're filming and Tamara brings it up to Gretchen.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Why?
- 15:04Speaker 2: I don't know. Does nobody have a subscription to Peacock?
- 15:09Speaker 2: Does nobody want to rewatch what you did on the
- 15:12Speaker 2: shows in the past Real Housewives of OC, girls? You
- 15:15Speaker 2: guys have filmed each other. You tried to plow drinks
- 15:18Speaker 2: into Kelly Dodd in Ireland. You have made up horrible
- 15:23Speaker 2: lies about many people, including Kelly and the train. I mean,
- 15:28Speaker 2: you've all been part of awful rumors and things. You've
- 15:31Speaker 2: done awful things. This, I think, being one of the
- 15:34Speaker 2: worst ones because it involves your son being quite predatory.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Like in this, I believe Tamara was real Ghazane Maxwell-ish, okay?
- 15:42Speaker 2: I'm going to say it. This is my opinion. That's
- 15:44Speaker 2: what I'm saying. I don't know why she would want
- 15:46Speaker 2: to bring it up. I don't know having this knowledge.
- 15:49Speaker 2: why it infuriated her enough to want to expose this
- 15:52Speaker 2: when Tamara has also been one of those people that's
- 15:55Speaker 2: talked to all of us, myself included, years and years back,
- 15:59Speaker 2: behind the scenes, over and over, like so many people,
- 16:03Speaker 2: you know, in sharing information. She was doing what Katie
- 16:07Speaker 2: was doing before anybody was doing it, okay? So all
- 16:12Speaker 2: of it is there. And then Gretchen says, you know, no,
- 16:16Speaker 2: like this is not, I don't, I don't never said that.
- 16:19Speaker 2: I never said roofie. Like, what are you talking about?
- 16:22Speaker 2: So then the show airs on Thursday and it gets
- 16:26Speaker 2: brought up and Gretchen says, I don't, I mean, did
- 16:31Speaker 2: I go to the hospital? I don't know. I should
- 16:32Speaker 2: have gone to the hospital, something like that. And she
- 16:35Speaker 2: explains the state she was in when she stated that
- 16:39Speaker 2: in the car, because that's where the discrepancy comes. That's
- 16:42Speaker 2: why I'm glad that she did my interview, um, which
- 16:45Speaker 2: we taped, um, at the end of last week and
- 16:50Speaker 2: why then when I listened back and I watched it,
- 16:53Speaker 2: why I think it's really important that you look at
- 16:56Speaker 2: it a different in the way of what does it
- 17:00Speaker 2: matter if she went to the hospital or she didn't
- 17:03Speaker 2: go to the hospital? I believe Gretchen that she never
- 17:07Speaker 2: said about the hospital. She probably, she may have said, yeah,
- 17:10Speaker 2: it was pretty bad, whatever. It was never a story
- 17:13Speaker 2: to be repeated to anybody for an article in a,
- 17:18Speaker 2: you know, newspaper or a podcast or whatever. It was
- 17:22Speaker 2: a girlfriend venting to another girlfriend at a dinner. And
- 17:26Speaker 2: it was really a case of, I think, miscommunicated telephone,
- 17:30Speaker 2: exaggerated things. And even if she did say it, in
- 17:35Speaker 2: my opinion, who the fuck cares? Like, this was a
- 17:39Speaker 2: horrible thing that happened. She was probably hungover for three
- 17:42Speaker 2: days However, she spent the night at Tamara's. So Tamara
- 17:49Speaker 2: knows and she knows that she didn't go to the hospital.
- 17:52Speaker 2: So why would she have said it and why would
- 17:55Speaker 2: she have made that up? And again, the bigger picture
- 17:58Speaker 2: is what went down all those years ago. And I mean,
- 18:03Speaker 2: there's so much history there, which I will get. into
- 18:06Speaker 2: on this week's Patreon of that I know about my
- 18:10Speaker 2: involvement of when I was really close to all the
- 18:12Speaker 2: girls years ago, when I was the only one doing this.
- 18:15Speaker 2: And I did have the scoop. And guess what? I
- 18:16Speaker 2: didn't fucking tell. I didn't go tell 12 other people
- 18:19Speaker 2: because there weren't 12 other people doing this, let alone
- 18:22Speaker 2: 120 people, which is probably the amount of people that
- 18:24Speaker 2: Katie has spoken to. So Katie denies it. Gretchen's trying
- 18:28Speaker 2: to clear the air. And There were a lot of
- 18:34Speaker 2: comments about what you're going to hear in this interview,
- 18:36Speaker 2: and one was that I asked, why are you and
- 18:39Speaker 2: Slade not married? And she said, well, we put it
- 18:44Speaker 2: off many years ago because we wanted not to get
- 18:46Speaker 2: married until all Americans could get married. And people were writing, oh,
- 18:52Speaker 2: that's convenient. Now you say that, Gretchen, as if she
- 18:54Speaker 2: didn't really mean it when she sat on my couch. Well,
- 18:59Speaker 2: in 2013... There was an article written in which Gretchen
- 19:04Speaker 2: Rossi says, I'm 100% behind gay marriage. And she says
- 19:10Speaker 2: right here, I'm 100% behind gay marriage. The Orange County
- 19:14Speaker 2: Housewife firmly tells Star Plus, I have so many wonderful
- 19:18Speaker 2: friends in the community. Some have been with their partners
- 19:20Speaker 2: for over 20 years. It would be great if they
- 19:22Speaker 2: could get married and show the world their love and
- 19:25Speaker 2: commitment in the same way that straight couples can. She
- 19:31Speaker 2: said that in 2013. So I'm just saying this is
- 19:34Speaker 2: not for show. And also, you know, she I remember
- 19:40Speaker 2: she threw the Tupperware party with a very famous drag
- 19:43Speaker 2: queen that is just the greatest um, Tupperware person here
- 19:48Speaker 2: at quesadilla in 2010. If you don't, you know, like
- 19:51Speaker 2: very fun. So like, wait, I'm just saying these things
- 19:56Speaker 2: can be strewed a certain way. And I do believe
- 19:58Speaker 2: that it's just gotten really dark in that. I feel that, um,
- 20:04Speaker 2: You know, Tamara has had it out for her and
- 20:07Speaker 2: has been putting out things. And I think it's been
- 20:10Speaker 2: very obvious. And again, that is my opinion as somebody
- 20:13Speaker 2: who not only has interacted with these people for 20
- 20:16Speaker 2: years behind the scenes, but also has watched the episodes,
- 20:20Speaker 2: remembers it, and is watching the new dynamics of social
- 20:24Speaker 2: media and how it drives a storyline. So with that
- 20:26Speaker 2: being said, I want you guys to listen to this interview.
- 20:29Speaker 2: I think you'll really like it. I think you'll have
- 20:31Speaker 2: a different perspective. And With all that being said, it's
- 20:35Speaker 2: a juicy season. It's a juicy season. It's got us
- 20:38Speaker 2: all talking. So for all the players involved, touche. Maybe
- 20:43Speaker 2: it'll be different next year, but this is the story now.

- 21:17Speaker 5: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 21:20Speaker 5: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 21:23Speaker 5: have faced tremendous setbacks. And yet somehow have found a
- 21:27Speaker 5: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 21:30Speaker 7: Life is one long lesson of chaos.
- 21:33Speaker 6: I'm heading to the Emmys and I have police complaints
- 21:36Speaker 6: filed against me.
- 21:37Speaker 4: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 21:39Speaker 4: what would you do if it was given back?
- 21:41Speaker 5: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 21:44Speaker 5: you had to succeed in order.
- 21:46Speaker 4: To feel loved? He said, I have a work dad.
- 21:48Speaker 4: I need a home dad. What happens next? When I
- 21:50Speaker 4: came in, he started crying. Everybody in life encounters hardships.
- 21:54Speaker 5: What defines them is not those hard moments that they
- 21:57Speaker 5: go through.
- 21:58Speaker 4: It's about what happens next.
- 22:00Speaker 2: I decided to risk it all.
- 22:01Speaker 4: I realized how valuable every day was. You're worth the work.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches. You can
- 22:07Speaker 2: use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 22:08Speaker 5: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 22:12Speaker 5: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 22:22Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome to Juicy Scoop. I'm very excited because
- 22:25Speaker 2: I've got a super juicy one for you today. Reality, royalty,
- 22:30Speaker 2: Gretchen Rossi, Slade Smiley, Real Housewives of OC, parents to
- 22:34Speaker 2: Skylar Gray, most famous little child, beautifully dressed, always coordinated.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Your Instagram is really fun to follow. And I love...
- 22:48Speaker 2: I don't know if you've ever referred to, but I
- 22:50Speaker 2: started something years ago when I started to follow you,
- 22:52Speaker 2: that you are always going to these fancy parties and
- 22:54Speaker 2: they call them the cupcake ladies.
- 22:56Speaker 7: Oh, the cupcake ladies because of KC being the cupcake?
- 22:59Speaker 2: No, I didn't even know that she was a cupcake lady.
- 23:00Speaker 7: Oh, that's hilarious.
- 23:01Speaker 2: I just thought that you guys looked like pretty cupcakes
- 23:03Speaker 2: all the time. I'm so sorry. So funny. Because it
- 23:04Speaker 2: was always like, oh, we're doing a Tiffany's theme. Oh,
- 23:07Speaker 2: we're doing a Pink and Diamonds theme. And I was
- 23:10Speaker 2: just always like, why are these girls not on the show?
- 23:13Speaker 2: And then you just said they're too nice. Oh, you
- 23:15Speaker 2: know what?
- 23:16Speaker 7: They've all been asked. They all have been asked to
- 23:18Speaker 7: do the show. And they really are. They're like the
- 23:20Speaker 7: nicest humans ever. And they just would never want to
- 23:24Speaker 7: be involved in that kind of crazy drama.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:27Speaker 4: Like, it's just not their cup of tea. Film House,
- 23:28Speaker 4: why don't they go to Saint-Tropez? Yeah, exactly. They're like,
- 23:31Speaker 4: we're going to go to Saint-Tropez.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Speaking of which, And then we're going to get into
- 23:34Speaker 2: the deuce. But how much preparatory time do you have?
- 23:40Speaker 2: to go to these fancy parties? And does anybody eat
- 23:43Speaker 2: at them? At these fancy lunches? Okay, I'll give you
- 23:45Speaker 2: a juicy scoop.
- 23:47Speaker 7: So we definitely eat, but we always have like this
- 23:50Speaker 7: big fancy cake and everyone's like, who's the cake for? Well,
- 23:53Speaker 7: the cake is mainly fake, except for the very top piece.
- 23:56Speaker 7: That's just the small piece because the other two layers
- 23:59Speaker 7: are just faux to like make the cake look like
- 24:01Speaker 7: really big and pretty so that it's like cute for
- 24:04Speaker 7: our theme. But the top part is the only part
- 24:06Speaker 7: of the cake that's like edible, right?
- 24:08Speaker 2: Isn't that funny? And you do eat the cake? Oh,
- 24:09Speaker 2: we do.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:10Speaker 4: You do eat the cake.
- 24:10Speaker 2: We definitely do.
- 24:11Speaker 7: Yes.
- 24:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Yeah. And so, but how much, has it ever happened
- 24:15Speaker 2: that one of the cupcake girls is having a competing
- 24:18Speaker 2: fancy lady luncheon party in Newport? Or do we all
- 24:22Speaker 2: coordinate before? That's a good question.
- 24:24Speaker 7: No, because most of our friend groups are, like, because
- 24:28Speaker 7: that group that is together is like one group.
- 24:31Speaker 2: So we all.
- 24:32Speaker 4: They're very well coordinated.
- 24:33Speaker 7: And then if there's another— Yeah, and we're all friends.
- 24:36Speaker 7: So when there's a party, we're all planning a party
- 24:38Speaker 7: because we basically— there' s 12 girls in the group, so there's
- 24:40Speaker 7: basically 12 parties throughout the year.
- 24:42Speaker 2: How hard would it be to get me invited just
- 24:46Speaker 2: to one cupcake party?
- 24:47Speaker 7: So you're not allowed to be invited because they cut
- 24:50Speaker 7: off anybody else being allowed to be in the group.
- 24:52Speaker 4: Right.
- 24:53Speaker 7: I swear to God.
- 24:55Speaker 2: I really actually love your honesty. Because so many times
- 24:58Speaker 2: when I've asked to be invited to something, people are
- 25:00Speaker 2: always like, oh my God, absolutely. And then I like
- 25:02Speaker 2: never hear from them. I love that you're like, no,
- 25:04Speaker 2: we've cut it off.
- 25:05Speaker 8: And I only know when the parties are coming because
- 25:07Speaker 8: sometimes the guys call me going, dude.
- 25:09Speaker 4: It's another party. Like, are we just going to have
- 25:11Speaker 4: cigars and have a whiskey in the corner?
- 25:12Speaker 7: Like, what are you going to do? Yeah, exactly. No,
- 25:14Speaker 7: and you do have to prep because there's always a theme.
- 25:16Speaker 7: So you have to get like the look for it.
- 25:18Speaker 7: And then you have to, we have to call the
- 25:19Speaker 7: cake people and we get the flowers and we Listen,
- 25:21Speaker 7: we're all about just celebrating life and making things special
- 25:24Speaker 7: for our girlfriends. And we just have a really fun
- 25:26Speaker 7: time at these parties. And it's an excuse to, like,
- 25:29Speaker 7: get dressed up, be with your girlfriends, and just have
- 25:31Speaker 7: a nice lunch.
- 25:32Speaker 2: How much time, honestly, is spent on the Instagram shoots?
- 25:37Speaker 2: Just as you're there, you all have a good Instagram following.
- 25:41Speaker 7: At least probably the first 15 minutes we'll take pictures.
- 25:43Speaker 2: You try to get that out of the way.
- 25:45Speaker 7: Yeah, we get it out of the way so then
- 25:46Speaker 7: the rest of the time we can enjoy ourselves.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Thank you. This was riveting. Honestly, I have been talking
- 25:51Speaker 2: about the cupcake ladies for years.
- 25:54Speaker 7: Yes, it is a well-oiled machine.
- 25:55Speaker 2: So Slade, you entered the world of Real Housewives of
- 26:00Speaker 2: OC first.
- 26:01Speaker 4: First. Did you tell Vicki Gumbelson that?
- 26:05Speaker 2: Oh my God, that's right. First.
- 26:08Speaker 4: And first spinoff. first.
- 26:12Speaker 2: And that was where you and Joe, right? We're going
- 26:16Speaker 2: to have a dating, a dating show. Yeah.
- 26:19Speaker 4: You don't know that story.
- 26:20Speaker 2: I know the story.
- 26:21Speaker 4: And I remember, I remember watching.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Why?
- 26:24Speaker 4: Because I was offered the bachelor.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Really? So wait, tell me how that came about. So you're,
- 26:30Speaker 2: so for people that are like, you know, newbies to
- 26:32Speaker 2: the world of The OC. It was a totally different
- 26:35Speaker 2: show back then. You were at a charity event with
- 26:40Speaker 2: Scott Dunlop. I was. And it was like, who wants
- 26:43Speaker 2: to be on a pilot or something? What was the story?
- 26:46Speaker 4: So Scott and I had already talked.
- 26:48Speaker 2: And he's the creator of the show.
- 26:49Speaker 4: Yeah, he's the creator of the series. He came out
- 26:51Speaker 4: of the groundlings. You know, very funny, kind of dry
- 26:53Speaker 4: humor guy. Yeah.
- 26:55Speaker 8: I was doing some light acting. I was doing some
- 26:57Speaker 8: commercial work. And I moved into the neighborhood. So I
- 27:00Speaker 8: was a couple houses up from him. And a mutual
- 27:03Speaker 8: neighbor introduced us. And he said, you should know Slade.
- 27:05Speaker 8: He does some stuff.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Up in LA.
- 27:09Speaker 8: And he's, I'm doing this show. You should be part
- 27:11Speaker 8: of the show. It's going to be really funny. We're
- 27:13Speaker 8: going to do our own version of Kirby Enthusiasm.
- 27:16Speaker 4: That's how it was sold to you. Yeah, that's how
- 27:17Speaker 4: it was sold to me. It's all comedic.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Honestly, that's my favorite thing of how housewife shows were
- 27:22Speaker 2: sold to people. Right?
- 27:23Speaker 4: Which is not what it was.
- 27:25Speaker 2: We're going to focus on your charity work.
- 27:27Speaker 4: In his defense, though, it was. No, it was different.
- 27:29Speaker 2: It was really different.
- 27:31Speaker 4: If you saw the first trailer, like the original trailer,
- 27:33Speaker 4: it's really funny.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:35Speaker 8: It was always about the families, and they had characters.
- 27:38Speaker 8: They had the guy who was the 70 and 7.
- 27:40Speaker 8: He made $ 70, 000 every seven minutes.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Who was that?
- 27:44Speaker 4: Well, he would stand in his backyard.
- 27:46Speaker 7: Yeah, but it wasn't meant to be a reality show.
- 27:48Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. No, it was a comedy. This
- 27:49Speaker 4: was 1,000 a comedy.
- 27:50Speaker 2: It wasn't supposed to.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Be real life.
- 27:54Speaker 7: It was like a character.
- 27:55Speaker 2: I remember being at the grocery store and seeing like
- 27:59Speaker 2: a star magazine or something and then promoting... The Real
- 28:03Speaker 2: Houses of Orange County holding an orange. And my first
- 28:06Speaker 2: thought was, what a brilliant idea. This is a parody
- 28:09Speaker 2: of Desperate Housewives holding an apple.
- 28:11Speaker 5: Yes.
- 28:12Speaker 2: And I was like, I was a fan of reality
- 28:14Speaker 2: shows even back in the day. So I was like,
- 28:17Speaker 2: you know, from MTV, the first one, The Real World.
- 28:20Speaker 2: So I was like, oh, I cannot wait to watch
- 28:23Speaker 2: the show. What a smart idea.
- 28:25Speaker 4: But that is the brilliance, I want to say, of
- 28:28Speaker 4: NBC and Bravo.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:29Speaker 8: Because it was originally designed to be this unscripted comedy.
- 28:34Speaker 8: It was our version of Kirby Enthusiasm. So the concept
- 28:37Speaker 8: was exceedingly wealthy people in the largest gated community in.
- 28:41Speaker 4: The United States, highly dysfunctional.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:44Speaker 4: So you had a character.
- 28:45Speaker 8: You had the guy who's 70 and 7. $ 70, 000 every
- 28:49Speaker 8: seven minutes. And he'd be in his backyard and he'd go,
- 28:52Speaker 8: what a great day.
- 28:54Speaker 4: I just made 70K. It was really slapsticky, kind of funny.
- 28:57Speaker 4: There was a kid called the Boomerang. Every time his
- 28:59Speaker 4: parents kicked him out, he'd come back again.
- 29:01Speaker 2: This is what was pitched to you?
- 29:03Speaker 4: No, this is the actual trailer.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Oh, this was the trailer?
- 29:06Speaker 4: It was pitched to the network. So we filmed.
- 29:09Speaker 8: For three and a half months doing satire, doing a
- 29:12Speaker 8: lot of setup, a lot of comedic stuff.
- 29:14Speaker 2: So that's where we see her and Joe in the
- 29:16Speaker 2: French maid costume and things like that. Exactly.
- 29:19Speaker 4: So for the first three months of production.
- 29:21Speaker 7: And when you did that weird scene where you were like,
- 29:24Speaker 7: Doing exercise and you're like, I got it going on.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Like those sort of things.
- 29:26Speaker 4: It's all designed to be slapstick.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Right.
- 29:28Speaker 8: But what happened is three months into production, the network
- 29:31Speaker 8: came back and said, look, we've been really thinking about
- 29:32Speaker 8: this and we want to change format. We want to
- 29:35Speaker 8: call it a docu-soap. So we want to film in
- 29:38Speaker 8: a documentary style, but be soap opera-esque in the stories
- 29:41Speaker 8: that we tell. And this whole reality genre is kind
- 29:43Speaker 8: of blowing up. So we've decided we want to be
- 29:45Speaker 8: the answer to the afternoon soap opera.
- 29:48Speaker 4: So now we're going to focus on the women. The
- 29:50Speaker 4: husbands and kids will kind of be ancillary.
- 29:52Speaker 8: And we're going to do all this. However, we don't
- 29:55Speaker 8: want to lose the three months of footage. We're still
- 29:57Speaker 8: going to use it. So you can imagine now what
- 30:00Speaker 8: you were doing with satire. I mean, I'm on the
- 30:02Speaker 8: golf course with my assistant.
- 30:03Speaker 4: I tee off. And I'm like, Megan, grab my balls.
- 30:07Speaker 4: It's designed to be slapstick. Or my clients are coming
- 30:10Speaker 4: to me and they're saying, hey, dude, you really suck
- 30:12Speaker 4: at golf. I'm like, yeah, but I'm rich.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Saying these obnoxious things. Because you're playing like a douchebag.
- 30:19Speaker 2: You're playing a new born douchebag. Because you had a Hummer, too.
- 30:24Speaker 4: Well, I had a Hummer and I was looking to
- 30:26Speaker 4: get one. That's right.
- 30:27Speaker 7: And by the way, when I watched the show, cause
- 30:29Speaker 7: I had known him cause he was a title rep
- 30:31Speaker 7: and I was selling real estate. When I watched the show,
- 30:33Speaker 7: I was like, who the hell is this guy? Like,
- 30:35Speaker 7: that's not who I know. Like in my day to
- 30:37Speaker 7: day life. Like, why is he being so douchey on TV?
- 30:40Speaker 7: But it's because of this whole story that I didn't know.
- 30:43Speaker 2: So it comes out and it's like a slow hit.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Cause I'll tell you when I was at Chelsea lately,
- 30:49Speaker 2: I was like, I was doing invitations of Vicky and
- 30:53Speaker 2: they're like, what are you talking about? And I'm like,
- 30:55Speaker 2: I'm telling you, like we have.
- 30:56Speaker 7: To start talking, watching, watching the show.
- 30:59Speaker 2: And then finally, not until New Jersey, did we do
- 31:02Speaker 2: a parody? The first parody ever of housewives I wrote,
- 31:06Speaker 2: which was a parody of their reunion because we had Teresa.
- 31:10Speaker 2: I remember that. And all that. I played slutty Danielle
- 31:13Speaker 2: with the legs. I remember that. Chelsea was a Dina
- 31:17Speaker 2: Manzo and, And a guy played my friend, Brad Wallach,
- 31:21Speaker 2: who is naturally a redhead. He looked gorgeous as Caroline Manzo. Like,
- 31:26Speaker 2: it was hilarious. It was all so funny. Chris Rangiolo
- 31:29Speaker 2: was Andy. Like, it was really great. Yeah, that's right.
- 31:33Speaker 2: So then once it starts getting going, you and Joe
- 31:36Speaker 2: break up.
- 31:36Speaker 4: Yep.
- 31:37Speaker 2: But they come to you to say, would you be
- 31:40Speaker 2: interested in being The Bachelor? Yes.
- 31:42Speaker 8: They come to me and say, well, Joe and I
- 31:44Speaker 8: break up. Scott Dunlap says to me, I want you
- 31:48Speaker 8: part of the show. Can you take Lori on a date? Oh,
- 31:52Speaker 8: and I go, yeah, I'll take Lori on a date.
- 31:53Speaker 4: She's awesome. I'm single. She's single. She's a great lady.
- 31:56Speaker 4: So we go out and we, we hang out.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:59Speaker 4: All suddenly it's like, Oh, he's chasing housewives.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Right.
- 32:01Speaker 4: That's, that's, that's like, no, we're friends. We're working together.
- 32:04Speaker 4: We're both single. I take the girl on a date.
- 32:06Speaker 2: She was cute.
- 32:08Speaker 4: We're friends with Lori and George today. I mean, she's great.
- 32:10Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, I always remember when she got George
- 32:14Speaker 2: and Vicky and she gets that car and Vicky's like,
- 32:18Speaker 2: the jealousy where you're seeping jealousy, but you also want
- 32:23Speaker 2: to be happy with your friend, but you're so like that,
- 32:25Speaker 2: like those real moments of like, he's the best guy.
- 32:29Speaker 2: And then of course, Lori did get the best guy
- 32:33Speaker 2: in the world.
- 32:34Speaker 4: They're so meant to be together. They're such a great couple.
- 32:36Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Okay.
- 32:37Speaker 4: Sorry.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Go on. So that happens.
- 32:39Speaker 4: And then, and then I was offered an opportunity to
- 32:41Speaker 4: go do the bachelor.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:43Speaker 4: And so I go back to, uh, the network. And
- 32:46Speaker 4: I said, I'm, I'm going to take this opportunity to go. No,
- 32:48Speaker 4: you're not. I go, what do you mean? You're contracted
- 32:50Speaker 4: to NBC. You can't go do ABC.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Right.
- 32:53Speaker 8: I'm like, this is not cool. And they go, look,
- 32:56Speaker 8: we'll develop something, you know, around this concept. And the
- 33:00Speaker 8: idea was to become the real bachelorette.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Okay.
- 33:03Speaker 4: And so that's when they pulled Joe back in.
- 33:05Speaker 8: Joe was already dating and she was off and we'd
- 33:07Speaker 8: been separated for a minute. We were still doing some
- 33:09Speaker 8: work together cause I would help produce her record album.
- 33:12Speaker 8: Like she wanted to sing and all these things, but
- 33:14Speaker 8: she was off doing her own thing.
- 33:15Speaker 4: So that's what they decided to do. Here's the concept.
- 33:19Speaker 8: Joe's going to be the real bachelorette. The guys live
- 33:22Speaker 8: in your house, and they're going to try to work
- 33:25Speaker 8: with you to win her over.
- 33:28Speaker 4: So that's how that happened.
- 33:29Speaker 2: And then the end of the twist is, can you
- 33:32Speaker 2: sit up and put that up a little? I know
- 33:34Speaker 2: him well enough. He's going to look and go, I
- 33:37Speaker 2: look so fat.
- 33:38Speaker 7: I know he's going to do that. I know he's
- 33:40Speaker 7: going to say that. So I'm trying to help my
- 33:41Speaker 7: man out here.
- 33:43Speaker 2: There you go. I like the pillows for that reason.
- 33:46Speaker 2: The pink pillow looks cute. Okay, so wait. Question. Yes,
- 33:51Speaker 2: I remember that and I remember at the end and
- 33:53Speaker 2: the twist was I'm going to be one of the
- 33:55Speaker 2: final guys. Right?
- 33:57Speaker 4: Oh, you're talking about the guy that got kicked out?
- 33:59Speaker 2: No, you came at the end. Did I? Yes, there
- 34:03Speaker 2: was a twist. He's like, I don't remember that. And
- 34:05Speaker 2: I knew it was fake watching it, but it was
- 34:06Speaker 2: like at the end, the twist was, I want to
- 34:10Speaker 2: be in the running.
- 34:11Speaker 4: Oh, I want to be in the running?
- 34:12Speaker 2: Yeah, at the end, yeah.
- 34:14Speaker 4: That was definitely someone other than me suggesting that. Yeah, yeah.
- 34:18Speaker 2: So that show has a one and done situation.
- 34:21Speaker 4: Yeah, they came back and asked to do season two.
- 34:24Speaker 4: It actually did pretty well.
- 34:26Speaker 2: With other people or you guys again?
- 34:27Speaker 4: No, Joe wouldn't cooperate. It was supposed to be my turn.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Oh, and then she was going to find you something.
- 34:32Speaker 4: She refused to cooperate. She said no.
- 34:33Speaker 8: Because she had already run off with whoever she was
- 34:37Speaker 8: doing it that time.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Sure, she regrets that one. So just because, why not?
- 34:41Speaker 2: You could have put her in a different thing that
- 34:43Speaker 2: she's a very nice person. Okay, so then when do
- 34:48Speaker 2: they approach you to join the season?
- 34:51Speaker 7: It's his fault.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Okay, tell the story. So then.
- 34:54Speaker 7: they were looking for somebody to replace Joe and Slade.
- 34:57Speaker 2: And I'm at- Season two?
- 34:59Speaker 7: Season four.
- 35:00Speaker 5: Four, right.
- 35:01Speaker 7: Season four, because they left season two and then they
- 35:04Speaker 7: did their spinoff and then they had come to him
- 35:06Speaker 7: and said, we're looking for somebody that's similar like you
- 35:08Speaker 7: and Joe, like a younger couple or younger person like that.
- 35:12Speaker 7: And so we're at a mutual birthday party, a friend
- 35:17Speaker 7: of ours, and him and Joe were there. And he
- 35:20Speaker 7: starts talking to me about doing the show. And I
- 35:22Speaker 7: was like, oh, hell no. I'm like, absolutely not. Like,
- 35:24Speaker 7: I have no interest in the show. And he's like, well,
- 35:25Speaker 7: just think about it. You know, producers want to talk
- 35:28Speaker 7: to you.
- 35:28Speaker 2: And I was just like, no, no.
- 35:29Speaker 7: Well, he gives them my number and they start calling me.
- 35:32Speaker 7: And I was just like, I'm not interested in doing this.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Now, at that time, are you dating your... I'm with Jeff.
- 35:36Speaker 2: You are dating Jeff. I'm with Jeff. And so I
- 35:39Speaker 2: was just like... Were you engaged yet? Um, gosh, this
- 35:42Speaker 2: is so many years ago. I don't think you were.
- 35:43Speaker 7: Was I engaged yet?
- 35:44Speaker 2: I don't remember.
- 35:44Speaker 7: So many years ago. I mean, this is what, 18
- 35:47Speaker 7: years ago?
- 35:47Speaker 2: And what was it like dating someone so much older
- 35:49Speaker 2: than you?
- 35:49Speaker 7: You know, it's weird because it just kind of organically happened.
- 35:53Speaker 7: Like it happened over a period of time when I was,
- 35:56Speaker 7: when we, cause I.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Sold him a house. So that's how I met him originally.
- 35:59Speaker 7: And I didn't realize until much later that he was
- 36:02Speaker 7: like smitten with me and wanted to like take me
- 36:04Speaker 7: out on a date. Like he would make comments and stuff.
- 36:06Speaker 7: Cause then I ended up helping him like decorate the house.
- 36:09Speaker 7: Cause I've done that for a lot of clients. And
- 36:10Speaker 7: so I didn't really get it till much later, but honestly,
- 36:14Speaker 7: we ended up falling in love and I didn't, I
- 36:16Speaker 7: didn't see the age difference.
- 36:18Speaker 2: I just didn't. Like how much was it? It was,
- 36:21Speaker 2: I think 23 years.
- 36:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 36:23Speaker 7: So, but he was just such an incredible, amazing man. Like,
- 36:26Speaker 7: you know, my parents and I, we would travel with him.
- 36:28Speaker 7: Like he was just a great, great human.
- 36:30Speaker 2: So I never really saw it that way.
- 36:33Speaker 7: But looking back, I mean, I was clearly naive, you know,
- 36:36Speaker 7: saying yes to the show and getting on.
- 36:38Speaker 2: And I mean, I have to say, they must have
- 36:39Speaker 2: seen this beautiful girl with this older guy. It's such
- 36:43Speaker 2: a classic Newport story. It's like, oh, we got it.
- 36:47Speaker 2: We got a good one. I know.
- 36:49Speaker 7: And here's the worst part. So the very first scene
- 36:52Speaker 7: they do with us, and of course they don't show
- 36:53Speaker 7: like exactly what the deal is, but we're in Michigan
- 36:57Speaker 7: and I'm filming with Jeff in Michigan and they say, oh,
- 37:00Speaker 7: let's go to the jewelry store that Jeff is part
- 37:03Speaker 7: owners in and go around the jewelry store and show
- 37:06Speaker 7: all the pieces that you like in a store. But
- 37:08Speaker 7: they forget to tell the audience that Jeff is part
- 37:11Speaker 7: owner in the jewelry store. So it looks like I'm
- 37:13Speaker 7: walking around the jewelry store going, I love this and
- 37:15Speaker 7: I love this and I love this. And I'm like,
- 37:17Speaker 7: I watched the first episode. I was like, oh, my gosh,
- 37:20Speaker 7: I'm such an idiot. Like, why didn't I know that
- 37:22Speaker 7: they were like going to set me up to look
- 37:24Speaker 7: like this? So that was hard because, you know, I
- 37:26Speaker 7: had been a very successful real estate agent for many
- 37:28Speaker 7: years on my own. I was in the top 7%
- 37:31Speaker 7: internationally for Coldwell Banker. Like I did well for myself.
- 37:34Speaker 7: And I think that's part of the reason that Jeff
- 37:35Speaker 7: liked me because he's so used to women like being like, oh, Jeff,
- 37:38Speaker 7: you have all this money.
- 37:38Speaker 2: And I was like, I don't need your money. I
- 37:39Speaker 2: can take care of myself, you know?
- 37:41Speaker 7: So, so yeah, I walked right into it, you know,
- 37:45Speaker 7: not even realizing that it was going to make me
- 37:47Speaker 7: look like that.
- 37:48Speaker 2: So, so when you join the first time, right off
- 37:52Speaker 2: the bat, we do see there's a, there's a blonde
- 37:57Speaker 2: budding of heads, budding of blonde heads. Between you and Tamara.
- 38:01Speaker 3: Right.
- 38:01Speaker 2: And jokingly, she says, you know, before you get in
- 38:04Speaker 2: the car, hang on to your daddy's girls.
- 38:06Speaker 7: Right.
- 38:06Speaker 2: You know, like you're a husband stealer or whatever. Right.
- 38:10Speaker 2: And did you, you came in just so like, hey. Yes.
- 38:14Speaker 2: You know, like not understanding what's going on. Do you
- 38:19Speaker 2: think it started there? Because I know there were times
- 38:21Speaker 2: when you, throughout the seasons, you guys did have a
- 38:24Speaker 2: come to Jesus and got to hang out. Yeah. What
- 38:28Speaker 2: do you think it was from the very start? Why
- 38:31Speaker 2: there was this thing with her appearing to be against you?
- 38:34Speaker 2: You know, here's the thing.
- 38:35Speaker 7: I wish I knew because I, you know, back then
- 38:38Speaker 7: I didn't understand it. So many years later, after being
- 38:41Speaker 7: able to, you know, look back and see what was
- 38:43Speaker 7: happening and everybody at the time was like, she's so
- 38:46Speaker 7: jealous of you. And I felt like it was conceited
- 38:49Speaker 7: to be like, oh, she was jealous of me. You
- 38:50Speaker 7: know what I mean? Because it just felt weird saying
- 38:52Speaker 7: stuff like that. But looking back, I feel like she
- 38:56Speaker 7: was always like, I'm the hottest housewife.
- 38:58Speaker 2: I'm, you know, this, that.
- 38:59Speaker 7: And then I come in and then it's like, somebody's
- 39:01Speaker 7: stealing a little bit of that limelight from her getting,
- 39:04Speaker 7: you know, look at this cute girl.
- 39:05Speaker 2: Who's this person?
- 39:06Speaker 7: And I just think that she just didn't like that.
- 39:09Speaker 7: Like she didn't like anybody coming in and taking over
- 39:12Speaker 7: any of that reign for her. And she just, and
- 39:15Speaker 7: then she was so, and then the audience really started
- 39:17Speaker 7: liking me. So then it was like, she was just
- 39:19Speaker 7: determined to be like, she's this horrible human being and
- 39:23Speaker 7: she's this and she's that. And I was just like, wow.
- 39:25Speaker 2: And also back then, we didn't have the access of
- 39:29Speaker 2: knowing truly who the audience was rooting for or anything
- 39:33Speaker 2: because there wasn't like social media. There was barely even
- 39:36Speaker 2: a reunion the first couple years and there wasn't podcasts
- 39:39Speaker 2: and there weren't, you know, like sometimes you guys would
- 39:41Speaker 2: do those blog things and then you'd have to do
- 39:42Speaker 2: that like a homework assignment. And then, so it was
- 39:46Speaker 2: a really kind of a different thing. But there was
- 39:48Speaker 2: that scene where, um, Gina Kino goes, oh, well, Gretchen,
- 39:53Speaker 2: you know, is another cute blonde and da-da-da. And she
- 39:56Speaker 2: kind of calls it on it. I didn't really think
- 39:58Speaker 2: about it, but it's true. You know, it was like
- 40:00Speaker 2: you had Vicky and Gina who were kind of similar
- 40:03Speaker 2: of age and, you know, attractive, but not of the same,
- 40:06Speaker 2: you know, I think, like level of just like being done.
- 40:09Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
- 40:10Speaker 2: And so that, that is very interesting. So then we,
- 40:13Speaker 2: we have you on the show for how many years
- 40:14Speaker 2: were you on it for?
- 40:15Speaker 7: Um, I did, I did the show for half a decade.
- 40:18Speaker 7: So what is that?
- 40:18Speaker 2: Five seasons? Yeah. And between your fiance passing and dating Slade,
- 40:22Speaker 2: you stayed on the show the whole time or did
- 40:24Speaker 2: you leave in between? I can't remember.
- 40:26Speaker 7: No, I stayed on the show.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Okay. And then, so how does your romance begin then
- 40:30Speaker 2: with Slade?
- 40:31Speaker 7: So Slade and I had known each other for 10 years.
- 40:34Speaker 7: And so we were just good friends for, for many years.
- 40:37Speaker 7: Cause like I said, he was a title rep and
- 40:39Speaker 7: he owned a title business. And then I was a
- 40:41Speaker 7: real estate agent. So we had known each other for
- 40:43Speaker 7: several years and been really good friends. And then, um,
- 40:47Speaker 7: after when, when Jeff was really sick and then after
- 40:50Speaker 7: Jeff passed away, he was like one of the only
- 40:52Speaker 7: people in my life that called and checked on me
- 40:54Speaker 7: all the time. And he— because, I mean, he was going
- 40:56Speaker 7: through it with his own son. So it's like he
- 40:58Speaker 7: just knew what it was like to always be in
- 40:59Speaker 7: a hospital and be drained and tired and dealing with
- 41:02Speaker 7: all of the stuff that you have to do is,
- 41:04Speaker 7: you know, dealing with somebody that's sick. And so he
- 41:08Speaker 7: would just check in on me all the time. And
- 41:11Speaker 7: I remember, especially after Jeff passed away— he would check
- 41:16Speaker 7: in on me and then he would be calling me
- 41:17Speaker 7: and talking to me about all the girls he would
- 41:19Speaker 7: be dating to try and just... Like, he'd have to
- 41:22Speaker 7: date five women to feel like he was dating the
- 41:25Speaker 7: person that he wanted because, like, he just could not
- 41:28Speaker 7: find anybody that he really liked or whatever.
- 41:30Speaker 2: And so.
- 41:31Speaker 7: We would talk about this and then he would call
- 41:32Speaker 7: me and be like, can my girlfriend come down and
- 41:34Speaker 7: stay at your house? And I'm like, sure. Like that
- 41:36Speaker 7: was the relationship that we had because his girlfriend was
- 41:38Speaker 7: coming down.
- 41:39Speaker 2: She was a model.
- 41:39Speaker 7: She needed a place to stay. And I was like, absolutely.
- 41:42Speaker 7: So we had this relationship for nine months. And then
- 41:45Speaker 7: I was going to like my first business meeting since
- 41:47Speaker 7: Jeff had passed and it was with men and I
- 41:50Speaker 7: felt a little vulnerable still. So I called him and
- 41:52Speaker 7: I was like, hey, would you mind coming? and being
- 41:55Speaker 7: kind of like the male presence to like represent me
- 41:57Speaker 7: in this meeting.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Is this when you were doing like your makeup and
- 41:59Speaker 2: bags and stuff?
- 42:00Speaker 7: Gosh, I don't even remember what the meeting was, but probably.
- 42:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:03Speaker 4: It was just before that.
- 42:05Speaker 2: And so maybe.
- 42:06Speaker 7: And so I walked into this meeting and he walked
- 42:08Speaker 7: through the door and I just, I remember literally going, huh,
- 42:12Speaker 7: I don't remember him being that cute. Like it was
- 42:14Speaker 7: like this really weird aha moment. And I think because
- 42:17Speaker 7: in timing in life, when you're, you know, I'm no
- 42:19Speaker 7: longer with somebody and he's no longer with somebody, he
- 42:22Speaker 7: walks in, I was just like, Huh, like this is weird.
- 42:24Speaker 7: And then in the meeting, the guys that were in
- 42:27Speaker 7: the meeting were like, is there something going on between
- 42:29Speaker 7: you two? Because it was like so obvious that we
- 42:31Speaker 7: were like giddy and like flirting with each other and
- 42:33Speaker 7: like all this stuff.
- 42:35Speaker 2: And then that night we went.
- 42:36Speaker 4: They rescheduled, right?
- 42:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:37Speaker 4: They wanted to reschedule.
- 42:37Speaker 7: They were like, okay, well, let's just have a second
- 42:39Speaker 7: meeting or whatever.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Because they're sitting there and we're busy flirting. Because we
- 42:41Speaker 2: were just giddy.
- 42:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:42Speaker 7: And so then we went to dinner that night. And literally,
- 42:45Speaker 7: I feel like we haven't spent a day apart since then.
- 42:47Speaker 2: I don't know. It was just weird.
- 42:49Speaker 7: And four days later, we went to Vegas. And on
- 42:53Speaker 7: that drive to Vegas... we literally said we felt like
- 42:57Speaker 7: we could tell each other we loved each other.
- 42:58Speaker 2: It was so weird.
- 42:59Speaker 7: And then we didn't tell each other we loved each
- 43:00Speaker 7: other until like a month later, but we both said
- 43:02Speaker 7: in that moment, when we were driving to Vegas, we
- 43:05Speaker 7: felt like we knew we were gonna be together for
- 43:07Speaker 7: the rest of our lives.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Like we knew it in that moment. So then when
- 43:10Speaker 2: you come, you're filming the show and now it's like,
- 43:12Speaker 2: oh my gosh, Gretchen's dating Slade. Yeah. How was that
- 43:16Speaker 2: like reaction? You know, because this is like, this certainly
- 43:20Speaker 2: isn't a story I have ever heard before. Didn't know.
- 43:23Speaker 4: Well, we tried. I said no initially.
- 43:27Speaker 2: To go back on it? He said he didn't want
- 43:28Speaker 2: to go back on.
- 43:29Speaker 7: And then at the time it was Kathleen French and
- 43:32Speaker 7: Kathleen French calls me. And I remember this so like distinctly.
- 43:35Speaker 7: She calls me and she goes, out of anybody, why
- 43:38Speaker 7: Slade Smiley? Like you could have Richard Branson.
- 43:41Speaker 2: And I was like, what? I was like, what are
- 43:43Speaker 2: you talking about? And I was like, I don't know.
- 43:49Speaker 7: Like, I don't, I don't, I'm sorry that like, I
- 43:51Speaker 7: happen to fall in love with Slade Smiley. Like, you know,
- 43:54Speaker 7: and it was to me at the time, I remember
- 43:56Speaker 7: that he was such an odd question. Cause it's like,
- 43:58Speaker 7: cause I fell in.
- 43:58Speaker 2: Love with him.
- 43:59Speaker 7: Like, And it was like they wanted me to have
- 44:01Speaker 7: somebody that was like richer, older, whatever.
- 44:04Speaker 2: I don't know. It was really odd.
- 44:06Speaker 8: I think it also had to do with the fact
- 44:07Speaker 8: that when we did the spinoff show, you know, I
- 44:11Speaker 8: was in those development meetings. You know, I worked with
- 44:14Speaker 8: production pretty closely on that because I'm technically almost hosting
- 44:17Speaker 8: these guys.
- 44:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 44:18Speaker 8: And so as things are happening and transpiring, you know.
- 44:21Speaker 8: in that reality, I'm working directly with production to keep
- 44:24Speaker 8: story moving. So you kind of step behind the wall
- 44:27Speaker 8: a little bit and you're working closer with production than
- 44:29Speaker 8: you are just being someone who's out.
- 44:31Speaker 4: Front in a reality position.
- 44:32Speaker 8: And so to go back on this show, but yet
- 44:35Speaker 8: have worked with them in a different.
- 44:36Speaker 4: Capacity, it's just a different relationship. It becomes very different.
- 44:40Speaker 7: Right.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Yeah. But so then you guys are on the show
- 44:44Speaker 2: for how many seasons together before you take the big break?
- 44:47Speaker 2: So that was five, six, seven, eight. So four seasons.
- 44:50Speaker 2: And everyone now is aware of what season was the
- 44:55Speaker 2: Naked Wasted? Was that?
- 44:57Speaker 4: Four.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's when I first came on. The Naked Wasted
- 44:59Speaker 2: thing happens. I talked about it on the previous show
- 45:02Speaker 2: and that, you know, of course someone wouldn't do that today,
- 45:06Speaker 2: you know, because it's not okay to get someone that
- 45:10Speaker 2: drunk and all that kind of stuff. So now we
- 45:13Speaker 2: jump to the show and the latest episode. So why
- 45:18Speaker 2: do you say, you claim, no, I never said roofied.
- 45:23Speaker 2: Katie said that you told her on a night out
- 45:27Speaker 2: that you were so drunk that night that you believe
- 45:31Speaker 2: that you were roofied, meaning somebody slipped some, roofied means
- 45:35Speaker 2: somebody slipped something in your drink. It doesn't mean I
- 45:37Speaker 2: fed you too many shots of tequila. It means Something,
- 45:40Speaker 2: a drug that's not legal was slipped in someone's drink
- 45:43Speaker 2: so that they lose all control.
- 45:44Speaker 4: Right.
- 45:45Speaker 2: So you're shocked by that when Tamara reveals that to you. Right.
- 45:49Speaker 2: And now in this latest episode, you're in the car.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Explain what happened and.
- 45:55Speaker 4: What was going on.
- 45:56Speaker 7: So what happened was when Tamara tells me that story,
- 45:58Speaker 7: I'm obviously blindsided. I'm just like, wait, what? Like my
- 46:01Speaker 7: brain is trying to comprehend what Tamara just told me.
- 46:04Speaker 7: That supposedly Katie said I said. And my brain starts
- 46:09Speaker 7: going back because you got to remember, this is months
- 46:11Speaker 7: and months prior, like back in September, October.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Is when you guys chatted.
- 46:15Speaker 7: Is when we went to dinner, me and Katie, Jen,
- 46:18Speaker 7: Ryan and Matt. We all went to dinner and there
- 46:20Speaker 7: was it was a three hour dinner. So there was
- 46:22Speaker 7: a lot of conversation that was happening that night. And
- 46:25Speaker 7: Matt and Katie had asked like what my experience had
- 46:27Speaker 7: been with Tamara. The boys are down at one end
- 46:29Speaker 7: kind of talking about their stuff. The girls are at
- 46:31Speaker 7: this end talking about one thing. And so then it
- 46:34Speaker 7: was just like any other conversation I would have with you,
- 46:36Speaker 7: I'd have with anybody.
- 46:38Speaker 2: You know what?
- 46:39Speaker 7: My experience with her has not been great. Like there's
- 46:41Speaker 7: been a lot of things over the years. She tried
- 46:42Speaker 7: to get me naked wasted at one point and she
- 46:44Speaker 7: was like, naked wasted? What's that? explained to her what
- 46:47Speaker 7: naked wasted was. She tried to get me drunk. And
- 46:49Speaker 7: I was like, yeah. And I was so sick. I
- 46:51Speaker 7: probably should have gone to the hospital the next day.
- 46:53Speaker 7: That was the gist of what happened that night. So
- 46:56Speaker 7: when all of a sudden I'm hearing now months and
- 46:59Speaker 7: months and months later that Katie is telling some blogger
- 47:03Speaker 7: that I said that I got roofied by Tamara. I'm
- 47:06Speaker 7: just like, wait, what? I'm like, I like, I couldn't
- 47:10Speaker 7: even comprehend what she was telling me in that moment.
- 47:13Speaker 7: So then Um, then we're in the car and you
- 47:17Speaker 7: can see in the scene.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Where I, I look very tired.
- 47:21Speaker 7: I'm exhausted. We've been filming for two days straight. I
- 47:24Speaker 7: just get, you know, blindsided by this information. And she says,
- 47:28Speaker 7: so did you ever tell Katie that you went to
- 47:30Speaker 7: the hospital? And you see me like, wait, can we
- 47:32Speaker 7: ask that again? And so I'm, you see me in
- 47:35Speaker 7: the car kind of being like, I mean, like, cause
- 47:38Speaker 7: I'm trying to remember what happened months prior. I'm like,
- 47:40Speaker 7: I mean, Did I tell you? Like, I'm trying to
- 47:43Speaker 7: think of like what was said that night. And clearly
- 47:46Speaker 7: I misspeak in that moment, just like all of us
- 47:49Speaker 7: on this show have done before.
- 47:51Speaker 4: I could see in your face, like you were exhausted.
- 47:53Speaker 8: It almost like if you look at the scene, it's
- 47:55Speaker 8: like she's almost experiencing again the horror of being that
- 47:59Speaker 8: embarrassed and, you know, being taken advantage of.
- 48:01Speaker 4: I could just see her.
- 48:02Speaker 7: It's like I was having PTSD from it.
- 48:04Speaker 2: It's weird. Like I get it.
- 48:05Speaker 7: You can see that I'm like really distraught, just going.
- 48:08Speaker 4: And she was mumbling.
- 48:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:10Speaker 8: She was mumbling, like she was thinking through, like she
- 48:11Speaker 8: was mumbling, going back to that moment in time. And they,
- 48:15Speaker 8: you know, they put the words up on the screen.
- 48:16Speaker 4: It's like I can barely hear.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Because I don't think what she said was clear. I
- 48:18Speaker 2: can barely hear what I say. I mean, honestly, you're
- 48:20Speaker 2: telling me this because I'm a big true crime person.
- 48:22Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 48:23Speaker 2: And my sister is a criminal defense attorney. It's like
- 48:25Speaker 2: reminding me of when someone like inadvertently like confesses to
- 48:30Speaker 2: a crime because you're being like, you know, have another
- 48:33Speaker 2: cup of coffee. Let me talk to you now. And
- 48:36Speaker 2: you're finally like, I guess I was there. No, no.
- 48:39Speaker 7: I totally get what you're saying, but like, that's not
- 48:42Speaker 7: what it was. I mean, and even when I saw
- 48:44Speaker 7: the episode, I was like, wait, what?
- 48:45Speaker 2: And you said, so then you do say. Yes. I
- 48:48Speaker 2: think I said about going to the hospital.
- 48:50Speaker 5: Yes.
- 48:50Speaker 4: Okay.
- 48:50Speaker 7: And so then, so then, um, and then it like
- 48:53Speaker 7: cuts to me saying, no, I never went to the hospital.
- 48:56Speaker 7: So I'm sure people are going to like, be like, well,
- 48:58Speaker 7: that doesn't match up.
- 48:59Speaker 2: Well, the right.
- 48:59Speaker 7: Cause the way that it shows it's not matching up.
- 49:01Speaker 7: But my point is, is that I misspoke in that,
- 49:05Speaker 7: that car.
- 49:05Speaker 2: Right.
- 49:06Speaker 7: Right. And, and you know, I mean, Tara's misspoke about autism,
- 49:10Speaker 7: she said, and she misspoke about the FBI allegations.
- 49:12Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 49:13Speaker 7: So it's like, We all have misspoke at some point
- 49:16Speaker 7: on the show.
- 49:16Speaker 4: This is a.
- 49:17Speaker 2: Reality show too. Like you should be, if you're truly
- 49:20Speaker 2: doing your job as a reality star, you're living in
- 49:22Speaker 2: the moment. You're, you know, you're talking and we've seen
- 49:25Speaker 2: it happen on other shows with the Valley and everyone
- 49:27Speaker 2: hating Janet because she says something, you know, that seems
- 49:31Speaker 2: extreme about another cast member. But at the same time
- 49:34Speaker 2: in her defense, I'm like, Well, this isn't a trial.
- 49:38Speaker 2: You're living in real life. It shouldn't be taken as... Oh,
- 49:43Speaker 2: you did not put your hand on a Bible. This isn't,
- 49:45Speaker 2: you weren't prepped by an attorney before you took the stand.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Like you're literally living your life and you're trying to
- 49:51Speaker 2: figure it out.
- 49:52Speaker 7: And so I'm like, I mean, did I tell her?
- 49:54Speaker 7: Like I was trying to think of what was talked
- 49:56Speaker 7: about that night. Cause it was been so long ago.
- 49:59Speaker 7: So then, and then what's even weirder is then months later.
- 50:02Speaker 7: So we go to this dinner in September and September, October.
- 50:05Speaker 7: And then months later in February, Katie calls Jen and
- 50:11Speaker 7: Ryan and says, what was said that night at dinner?
- 50:13Speaker 2: So I'm like, nothing's.
- 50:15Speaker 7: Matching up to me here on the stories that Katie's telling. Wait,
- 50:18Speaker 7: she calls them. Wait, when was February?
- 50:22Speaker 2: Was that while you were in New Orleans? No, no, no.
- 50:26Speaker 8: This is a four month gap between the time that
- 50:30Speaker 8: the dinner took place to when all of a sudden,
- 50:32Speaker 8: I think we were traveling, Jen and Ryan were traveling,
- 50:35Speaker 8: they get a call from Katie. And Katie says, hey,
- 50:39Speaker 8: what was said that night at dinner about Naked Wasted?
- 50:42Speaker 8: And they're like, what are you talking about? Like, why
- 50:44Speaker 8: are you calling us?
- 50:45Speaker 2: Right.
- 50:45Speaker 7: Why are you calling and asking us? So like, let's,
- 50:47Speaker 7: let's call Gretchen Slade and they can tell.
- 50:49Speaker 4: You what happened.
- 50:50Speaker 2: Oh, she calls Jen and Ryan. Okay.
- 50:52Speaker 7: So then she, so then they call, they call, well,
- 50:55Speaker 7: it's not even that they don't remember. They're like, that's
- 50:57Speaker 7: not our story to tell. So like, why are you
- 50:58Speaker 7: even asking this? And so then they called Slade. We're
- 51:01Speaker 7: in Las Vegas at the time. I'm in the bathroom.
- 51:03Speaker 7: I'm kind of overhearing like this conversation, but I can't
- 51:05Speaker 7: really hear it because I'm in the bathroom getting ready.
- 51:08Speaker 7: And Slade's like, why is she asking about Naked Wasted? Like,
- 51:12Speaker 7: why is she even asking that?
- 51:13Speaker 4: Yeah, we're like, who is she talking to?
- 51:14Speaker 7: Yeah, he could hear somebody in the background. And so
- 51:17Speaker 7: he's like, who is she even talking to? And then
- 51:20Speaker 7: she hangs up the phone. And she's like, never mind.
- 51:22Speaker 4: She didn't realize that Ryan three-wayed me in on the call.
- 51:26Speaker 3: Oh.
- 51:26Speaker 4: Because Ryan's like, I don't even know what you're talking about.
- 51:28Speaker 4: If you have a question about this, you should.
- 51:30Speaker 2: Just be talking to Gretchen and Slade. He's like, this
- 51:31Speaker 2: is not my story.
- 51:31Speaker 7: Ask Gretchen and Slade.
- 51:32Speaker 8: Let's just call them. And he like, he three-wayed me in.
- 51:34Speaker 8: And the minute she heard us on the phone call,
- 51:36Speaker 8: She hangs up.
- 51:37Speaker 2: She was just like, okay, nevermind.
- 51:38Speaker 7: And then like hangs up. And so both him and
- 51:40Speaker 7: her are like, that's so weird. So then fast forward
- 51:43Speaker 7: to us in New Orleans.
- 51:44Speaker 2: And how much time is between February and filming in
- 51:47Speaker 2: New Orleans?
- 51:47Speaker 7: Well, so technically we were, we started filming, but I
- 51:50Speaker 7: think New Orleans was like in March maybe.
- 51:53Speaker 2: Right after.
- 51:53Speaker 7: And so, and so, um, and so I'm, I'm just
- 51:58Speaker 7: like so confused about why she even asked this, whatever.
- 52:01Speaker 8: The reason she's setting this up for you is because,
- 52:03Speaker 8: you know, in the episode, she, she's adamant that she
- 52:07Speaker 8: knows what was said.
- 52:08Speaker 4: And she lays out all these specific details.
- 52:11Speaker 7: Yeah. She said, Gretchen, what's even weirder is so we're
- 52:15Speaker 7: in New Orleans and Katie is swearing that she did
- 52:18Speaker 7: not tell Kiki this fake story. She's like, I swear
- 52:21Speaker 7: I did not tell Kiki this story. I swear I
- 52:24Speaker 7: did not. I did not. And she's like adamant. And
- 52:27Speaker 7: so I'm believing my friend Katie. And as like an
- 52:30Speaker 7: idiot defending my friend, Katie saying, well, my friend Katie's
- 52:36Speaker 7: telling me she didn't say this. So who am I
- 52:37Speaker 7: gonna believe? The person that's lied and said all these
- 52:39Speaker 7: things about me for years, Tamara, or my friend Katie.
- 52:43Speaker 7: So then all of a sudden I'm watching this episode
- 52:46Speaker 7: and she's like, I'm no longer protecting Gretchen. I'm telling
- 52:50Speaker 7: the truth. Gretchen and Slade have been out spinning this
- 52:52Speaker 7: story to everybody. And I'm like, protecting me from what?
- 52:56Speaker 2: Your lies? Because I have.
- 52:58Speaker 7: Not gone out and told anybody this. And the point is,
- 53:02Speaker 7: is that had I told anybody the story, it would
- 53:05Speaker 7: have already been out. Somebody would have put it out
- 53:08Speaker 7: forever ago. And if I actually thought that, I would
- 53:12Speaker 7: have been the first.
- 53:12Speaker 2: Person to put it out. Do you know what I mean?
- 53:14Speaker 7: Because this was 17 years ago.
- 53:16Speaker 2: Right. If we're going to follow with what Tamara says
- 53:19Speaker 2: her beef is with you. is where she says, you've
- 53:22Speaker 2: talked about me for years, then why wouldn't you? You're right.
- 53:26Speaker 2: Why wouldn't you have brought up this, which there's video
- 53:28Speaker 2: evidence of pretty bad behavior, not illegal, but, you know,
- 53:32Speaker 2: trying to get your friend pretty drunk on camera, regardless
- 53:35Speaker 2: of if something was to happen to you or not,
- 53:37Speaker 2: you're just not making that girl look that good. I
- 53:40Speaker 2: remember seeing it actually on OC with Kelly Dodd. There
- 53:44Speaker 2: was this episode when they were in Ireland and And
- 53:47Speaker 2: Kelly was like, no, I'm good. And then Shannon gets
- 53:51Speaker 2: up and goes, make sure her drink is a double
- 53:53Speaker 2: or something.
- 53:54Speaker 7: Oh, yeah. You know what?
- 53:55Speaker 2: And so there was a little of that. And it's
- 53:57Speaker 2: like still.
- 53:57Speaker 7: But I don't think that's actually what happened, though.
- 53:59Speaker 2: No, but I'm saying.
- 53:59Speaker 7: Because I think.
- 54:00Speaker 5: I'm not.
- 54:00Speaker 7: Because I heard that story differently. You did?
- 54:02Speaker 2: Okay. Well, I'm saying what we say in camera.
- 54:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 54:04Speaker 2: With the audience. So there was like, well, why are
- 54:06Speaker 2: you trying to get me so. So I'm just saying.
- 54:09Speaker 2: It's not great to do to anybody. Right. Cameras are not.
- 54:12Speaker 3: Right.
- 54:12Speaker 2: But you're right. If you really had. that kind of
- 54:15Speaker 2: like visceral reaction where you really, you.
- 54:18Speaker 7: Know, felt like something criminal happened. I would have been
- 54:21Speaker 7: yelling that 17 years ago. And by the way, I'm
- 54:24Speaker 7: not trying to protect Tamara from anything.
- 54:25Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 54:26Speaker 7: So like, why would I, when Katie says, I'm no
- 54:30Speaker 7: longer defending Gretchen Slade or protecting them anymore. I'm like,
- 54:34Speaker 7: protecting us from what?
- 54:35Speaker 2: Your lies? Yes.
- 54:36Speaker 7: And I think what happened is.
- 54:38Speaker 2: Yes, why don't you say what's- Because it's like, I've
- 54:41Speaker 2: had like five theories. It's very hard to figure out
- 54:44Speaker 2: what was the motivation.
- 54:45Speaker 7: From Katie's point of view is that while she was
- 54:48Speaker 7: in New Orleans, I think she started to realize that
- 54:52Speaker 7: the women were onto her, that she was out telling
- 54:54Speaker 7: bloggers the story.
- 54:55Speaker 2: Got it.
- 54:56Speaker 7: And in particular, Kiki, because they kept saying, no, we
- 54:59Speaker 7: know Kiki said you've said this, right? And so I
- 55:02Speaker 7: think when she got home, she all of a sudden
- 55:04Speaker 7: started realizing like, oh shit, I'm going to get busted
- 55:07Speaker 7: for this. I need to come up with a plan
- 55:09Speaker 7: B as to why I went out and told people
- 55:12Speaker 7: this story. And people have come out even beyond Kiki saying, oh,
- 55:16Speaker 7: she told me the story too. Other bloggers since then,
- 55:19Speaker 7: since the show's been airing. So I'm like, clearly she's
- 55:22Speaker 7: the one that's out doing this. I'm not the one
- 55:24Speaker 7: that's out trying to spin some story. And really from
- 55:28Speaker 7: Tamara's point of view, she should be mad at Katie
- 55:30Speaker 7: because Katie's the one that's out trying to like Spin
- 55:32Speaker 7: the story. If I wanted to have that story like
- 55:36Speaker 7: that out there, if it was a true story, I
- 55:38Speaker 7: would have said that 17 years ago. And I certainly
- 55:40Speaker 7: am not going to be protecting Tamara over that. I'm
- 55:42Speaker 7: going to be telling everybody that. And every single one
- 55:45Speaker 7: of those cast members who have known me for years
- 55:46Speaker 7: has said, I've known Gretchen for years. She's said a
- 55:49Speaker 7: lot of shit about Tamara. She's never once said this.
- 55:52Speaker 7: Jen was present at that dinner and she said Gretchen
- 55:55Speaker 7: definitely did not say that. She said she felt so
- 55:57Speaker 7: sick she should have probably gone to the hospital.
- 55:59Speaker 4: Didn't the reporter she was trying to leak to you
- 56:01Speaker 4: investigate too? Called around.
- 56:03Speaker 2: Yes.
- 56:03Speaker 4: We've never heard that before. No one's ever said that.
- 56:05Speaker 8: And because it was never real, they just decided not
- 56:09Speaker 8: to do the story.
- 56:10Speaker 7: They're like, we're not even going to post the story
- 56:12Speaker 7: because it's not even a legit story. So then Katie
- 56:17Speaker 7: and now Matt are doubling down. And now Matt, Katie's husband,
- 56:22Speaker 7: is claiming that Slade called him in New Orleans and said,
- 56:27Speaker 7: protect Gretchen, hold the line.
- 56:30Speaker 2: And I'm like, what are they talking about? And you
- 56:34Speaker 2: should tell that story because you're the one that called Matt.
- 56:36Speaker 4: I'm pretty disappointed in Matt, obviously. Because I did call him.
- 56:40Speaker 8: We had just had a conversation about you shouldn't be
- 56:42Speaker 8: going and speaking to bloggers or media.
- 56:45Speaker 4: Like, it's not a good look. Obviously, it's against your contracts.
- 56:49Speaker 4: You shouldn't be doing it. We just had that talk.
- 56:51Speaker 4: So when I get the phone call from.
- 56:52Speaker 8: Her that I'm being told that Katie has done this
- 56:56Speaker 8: and I called Matt.
- 56:57Speaker 4: I go, Matt, like, not cool. Like, is your wife
- 56:59Speaker 4: actually out there doing this? We just had this talk.
- 57:02Speaker 4: I swear she didn't do it. She did not say
- 57:05Speaker 4: that to Kiki.
- 57:06Speaker 8: And I said, well, I don't want to hear a
- 57:08Speaker 8: month from now that she actually did it because that's
- 57:10Speaker 8: been her track record where she denies, denies, denies. And
- 57:13Speaker 8: then all of a sudden she flips and there's an admission.
- 57:16Speaker 4: And that's exactly what's happened.
- 57:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:18Speaker 4: Is that she now is changing her story after denying
- 57:21Speaker 4: it on camera.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Cause she denied the filming Shannon Bedore, right? Or did
- 57:26Speaker 2: she not deny that? I can't remember. There's like five things.
- 57:29Speaker 7: I know, but that's the problem. And see, this is
- 57:30Speaker 7: what the audience doesn't see. That's what you see on camera.
- 57:34Speaker 7: Just these five things on camera. There's so much going
- 57:37Speaker 7: on behind the scenes that people are unaware of, of
- 57:39Speaker 7: all the things that all of us as cast members
- 57:41Speaker 7: are catching her in weird lies.
- 57:43Speaker 2: And putting the dots together.
- 57:44Speaker 7: And we're all going, something is weird about this. Something's
- 57:47Speaker 7: up with this. And then every time we turn around,
- 57:49Speaker 7: like every day we wake up to some new story
- 57:52Speaker 7: that Katie's out in the press spinning.
- 57:54Speaker 2: And we're like, what, what's going to be next? I mean, honestly,
- 57:58Speaker 2: I always say that real housewives sometimes remind me of
- 58:03Speaker 2: when I'd read Shakespeare in high school, but I was
- 58:06Speaker 2: too dumb to read it. So I'd get the cliff
- 58:07Speaker 2: notes and it, it's a lot of, and then this
- 58:10Speaker 2: person whispered in this ear and the deception and then,
- 58:14Speaker 2: and because of this misinformation, this person then did this.
- 58:18Speaker 2: And like, it's like a Greek tragedy or a Shakespearean tragedy.
- 58:21Speaker 2: Like it is kind of like a.
- 58:23Speaker 7: Like a game of telephone sort of thing? Yeah, a
- 58:25Speaker 7: game of telephone.
- 58:26Speaker 8: But that's such a good analogy because I have to
- 58:28Speaker 8: tell you, and I've told her this too, I feel
- 58:31Speaker 8: like I'm suffering a bit of a loss because I
- 58:33Speaker 8: really enjoyed.
- 58:34Speaker 7: Katie and Matt.
- 58:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I really did too. They were very cool people.
- 58:37Speaker 3: I was so sad.
- 58:38Speaker 4: We enjoyed hanging out with them. And it's just something
- 58:40Speaker 4: that we never expected.
- 58:41Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 58:42Speaker 8: Even though the rest of the cast was trying to
- 58:44Speaker 8: warn us, this is who she is. We're like, no,
- 58:46Speaker 8: we've never experienced that. And I know Gretchen went out
- 58:49Speaker 8: of her way to really defend her because she's like,
- 58:50Speaker 8: she's never been that person to me.
- 58:52Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 58:53Speaker 4: Now she's become that person.
- 58:53Speaker 7: And they all were telling me, Gretchen, like, you need
- 58:56Speaker 7: to be careful. Like, this is what she does. And
- 58:58Speaker 7: I was like, no, like, I did not want to
- 59:00Speaker 7: believe it. I did not want to believe it.
- 59:02Speaker 2: What I don't understand is one of the things I
- 59:06Speaker 2: have been very interested since I'm doing this podcast are
- 59:09Speaker 2: stories where people have lies, elaborate lies, whether it's lying
- 59:14Speaker 2: about cancer. Right. I always am like, when do you
- 59:30Speaker 2: realize it's gone too far? And now you don't know
- 59:32Speaker 2: how to backtrack.
- 59:33Speaker 7: But I think that's what happened. That's what you kind
- 59:35Speaker 7: of see happen, at least for me as being Katie's friend, because,
- 59:40Speaker 7: and what's even weirder for me is that in this episode,
- 59:42Speaker 7: like I'm still in New Orleans, but she's on camera saying, oh,
- 59:46Speaker 7: this is what really happened. And I'm like, wait, I'm like,
- 59:49Speaker 7: It's like it's not the same timing of what happened
- 59:52Speaker 7: for me when I'm watching it.
- 59:53Speaker 2: What do you think the motivation was? Or do you
- 59:55Speaker 2: think that she found herself exaggerating sitting across from someone
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: for attention to get them interested, to reel them in?
- 1:00:04Speaker 7: No, I think that she... I think twofold.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: I think.
- 1:00:08Speaker 7: Okay, so we... I don't want to say who she
- 1:00:12Speaker 7: did this with, but there's cast members that she would
- 1:00:14Speaker 7: call and be like, oh my God, I have this story.
- 1:00:16Speaker 7: Like every morning, like, oh my God, this story, this story,
- 1:00:18Speaker 7: this story. I think she's online reading stories all day long,
- 1:00:22Speaker 7: talking to all these bloggers, gathering all this information. And
- 1:00:26Speaker 7: I think that. partially what's happening is she's taking part
- 1:00:29Speaker 7: truth of what was talked about.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: What she read on reddit or a dm or whatever.
- 1:00:34Speaker 7: Happy i think she's combining the two whether it's knowingly
- 1:00:38Speaker 7: or not yeah i think she's combining two different stories
- 1:00:42Speaker 7: together and then when she's sitting in front of somebody
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: because at this time she wasn't like didn't hate tamra
- 1:00:47Speaker 7: but let's be honest when we were at dinner with
- 1:00:49Speaker 7: her she wasn't like praising tamra either So it's like,
- 1:00:52Speaker 7: I don't know if she's just sitting in.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Front of these bloggers going, Tamara's not a good person.
- 1:00:56Speaker 7: And she's mixing up part of what I said with
- 1:00:59Speaker 7: other things that she's reading on Reddit or people. Because
- 1:01:01Speaker 7: if you go and look at any of the things
- 1:01:03Speaker 7: that we're talking about Naked Wasted, I mean, the comments
- 1:01:05Speaker 7: are not kind. They're like, Tamara's trying to sexually harass him, da, da, da.
- 1:01:09Speaker 7: So I don't know if she's reading comments on there
- 1:01:11Speaker 7: that Gretchen probably was drugged, roofing.
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:01:14Speaker 7: You know what I mean?
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: Where it came from.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: I think she got caught. Over embellishing.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: Well, that's what I think.
- 1:01:19Speaker 8: And I think to Heather's point, she was probably looking
- 1:01:21Speaker 8: for the attention that I've got some piece of information.
- 1:01:24Speaker 8: I want to facilitate a relationship with this media person.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: And get this person on my side. On my side.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: I think she probably in studying housewives in the last
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: couple of years realized there's, especially with New Jersey, where
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: people actually. I don't know if they're in the payroll
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: or what, but there were certain people that would obviously
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: be very pro-Theresa or very pro-Melissa. And that's all they would,
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: they were unbiased, you know? And so, or they, sorry,
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: they were very biased.
- 1:01:52Speaker 7: They were very biased.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: They were very biased. They weren't unbiased. And so I
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: think maybe in her being the new girl, she was like,
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: let me befriend these people. So in reporting on the
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: show and talking about the show, And this does happen
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: when you're friendly with some of the housewives. I've been
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: there too. You, you are a little bit like, well,
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: and covering it, I'm not going to, I'm going to
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: be a little biased, you know, whatever. So I think
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: that might've been her goal of just like, let me
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: collect as many people as I can. And, and when
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: you go to some of these people, cause there were
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: so many that she, they are maybe newer to this
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: space and they're like, I'm really good friends with a housewife.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: Like it's very, very exciting, you know, versus someone like
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: me where I'm like, okay, I've been doing this for
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: 10 years. I was Chelsea lately before. Like I've known
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: everybody for years and, and I'm like, yeah, you want
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: to come on the show? Great. If you want to
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: go on someone else's doesn't change my life, you know, whatever. And,
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: but to someone like that, that's like a jewel, you know,
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: to be like, oh my God. And, and then their
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: friends are like a little envious, you know, all that.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: So I think that kind of was, her thing and
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: then in doing, and then doing it.
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: She didn't expect that the research being done though.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: That was going to come back and it was going
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: to get to Tamara that someone was out investigating the store.
- 1:03:11Speaker 7: But she also didn't expect that a lot of these
- 1:03:14Speaker 7: bloggers or these people were going to come out and
- 1:03:15Speaker 7: call Katie out on her lies.
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: And that's what's happened.
- 1:03:18Speaker 7: Like, I mean, you know, Even just yesterday, another thing
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: came out that somebody was like, oh, she's spinning this
- 1:03:24Speaker 7: story in the press. And it's like, every time we're
- 1:03:26Speaker 7: turning around, there's some new blogger, like even the thing
- 1:03:29Speaker 7: that happened with Tamra. That blogger came out and said,
- 1:03:31Speaker 7: Katie is straight up lying. Like this did happen. She
- 1:03:34Speaker 7: did call me. So it's like, that's the part that's
- 1:03:37Speaker 7: frustrating is the audience thinks we're all just ganging up
- 1:03:40Speaker 7: on Katie and all going against Katie. But it's like,
- 1:03:43Speaker 7: she has strategically like done this to each and every
- 1:03:46Speaker 7: cast member. And she's out spinning these really horrific stories
- 1:03:50Speaker 7: about each cast member. And she's done it to every
- 1:03:53Speaker 7: single one of us. Gina, Emily, Heather, Tamara, Shannon, now me.
- 1:04:00Speaker 7: I'm just like, what the heck? Like, why is she
- 1:04:02Speaker 7: doing this?
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: And I kind of think that the intention wasn't all bad.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: I think she got you know, little girl who cried wolf. Like,
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: I think it got where she was just here and there.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: And oh, isn't this some juicy scoop? And isn't this?
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: And then when she realizes, oh, shit. I'm getting caught
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: for this. This exaggerated story is now going to be
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: on camera and is causing major problems between two, you know,
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: major cast members. And I'm at the center of it.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: So I just can deny that I said it. And
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: then when she couldn't, you know, and now we get
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: someone reputable being like, no, that's what you said. And like,
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: I'm not even on the cast, you know, with Kiki.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: And like, so yeah, I don't think she sat down
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: and was like, all right. No, I do. How do
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: I destroy the women in this woman's lives? I do
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: agree with that. I don't think that was it.
- 1:04:56Speaker 7: I think that she like is just out talking and
- 1:04:58Speaker 7: like saying stuff that she maybe heard or like I said,
- 1:05:00Speaker 7: that got mixed up between something she thought she heard
- 1:05:03Speaker 7: and then also something she read. And then unfortunately- because
- 1:05:07Speaker 7: of that. And then when she realized she's getting, like
- 1:05:09Speaker 7: the girls are onto her, like you're not gonna get
- 1:05:11Speaker 7: out of this one. I think that's when she was like,
- 1:05:14Speaker 7: oh crap, I gotta come up with another reason. And
- 1:05:17Speaker 7: then all of a sudden she switched the blame to
- 1:05:19Speaker 7: Slade and I are like secretly like plotting and planning.
- 1:05:23Speaker 7: And by the way, Why did Slade get pulled into that? Like,
- 1:05:25Speaker 7: that's so weird.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: And what did she say about you and Slade?
- 1:05:28Speaker 7: That was the whole thing about her going, oh, he
- 1:05:30Speaker 7: called Matt.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: Oh, called Matt. And I'm like, what are you talking about?
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: That is not the conversation.
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: Well, but she said that you and I were out
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: trying to get this story out.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that we've been out telling all these people this.
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: That we're out telling all these people. So what she's
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: trying to do is.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Say that Kiki lied. Why do you want to even
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: reflect that? Like, not a great night. Right. Exactly.
- 1:05:49Speaker 7: And again, like I said, if that was a real story,
- 1:05:52Speaker 7: I would have said that 17 years ago. I'm not
- 1:05:55Speaker 7: trying to protect Tamara from a story like that.
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: You understand what her plan was.
- 1:05:58Speaker 8: The plan is, is that if she's denying that she
- 1:06:02Speaker 8: said it to Kiki. So she's trying to convince everyone
- 1:06:05Speaker 8: that you and I are putting the story out.
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: So Kiki heard it somewhere else. Kiki's lying.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: That's what she's trying to do.
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: But here's the point.
- 1:06:14Speaker 8: How in the world would Kiki know that Katie knew
- 1:06:17Speaker 8: anything about it? She could have named anyone if that
- 1:06:20Speaker 8: was the case. Of course it came from Katie. And
- 1:06:25Speaker 8: this is actually something we should clear up right now.
- 1:06:27Speaker 8: Because we've known you for a very, very long time.
- 1:06:29Speaker 8: You know a lot of people in this business. Have
- 1:06:31Speaker 8: you ever heard one time that myself or Gretchen have
- 1:06:35Speaker 8: called and tried to put out a story?
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: No.
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: Have I ever, in the 20 years I've known you.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: No.
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: No.
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: This is the first time we've been on your show. Right.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:06:45Speaker 7: And, and, and you've never, ever heard me say, oh,
- 1:06:49Speaker 7: Tamara tried.
- 1:06:50Speaker 8: To ruin us.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: We've never talked about Naked Wasted ever. I like forgot.
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: Answer honestly. Have you ever heard that?
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: No.
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: And we've been accused of that. Yeah. When we left
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: the network last time. We were accused of that by Tamara.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: That was her biggest thing.
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: Oh, they're out leaking stories.
- 1:07:04Speaker 7: She's out leaking stories. Gretchen and Slater leaking stories.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: Were you accused of leaking back then? Oh, no. Tamara
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: said I.
- 1:07:09Speaker 7: Leaked every story.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: Tamara said that we were leaking stories.
- 1:07:11Speaker 7: She told that to the network back in the day.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: I thought I remember as just a viewer that it
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: was just kind of like somehow it bothered them that
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: the other cast members that you guys did your whole
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: engagement thing on the roof.
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07:28Speaker 7: By the way, that was the story that I found
- 1:07:30Speaker 7: out later from a, what was it called? They were
- 1:07:35Speaker 7: like with what magazine? Life and Style?
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: Oh, yes. From the West Coast Bureau Chief, actually.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: Yes, from the West Coast Bureau Chief.
- 1:07:42Speaker 7: This is years later. They're like, you know, Tamara's the
- 1:07:46Speaker 7: one that came to us and like leaked that story
- 1:07:48Speaker 7: about it was a fake engagement and all this.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: And I was like, really?
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:07:52Speaker 7: So it's just so frustrating to me that like, I
- 1:07:56Speaker 7: was accused of all of this stuff and she's the
- 1:07:58Speaker 7: one that was out doing it. And then when you
- 1:08:00Speaker 7: told me that she is already out leaking stories for
- 1:08:03Speaker 7: this season.
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: You know, I want to say, I remember.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: And I thought it was really pretty. The engagement? Will you?
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: How did it go? Marry me? It was something like
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: you saying.
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: The time is now. The time is now. Get it
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: on iTunes.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: Okay. You can get it on iTunes still.
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: And you have your radio show and you play and
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: you do cry. Yeah.
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: I did. They got me.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: I got them good. I got them good.
- 1:08:27Speaker 8: Here's some more juice on that story is that I
- 1:08:30Speaker 8: had attempted to plan a proposal for her I think
- 1:08:33Speaker 8: on two different occasions.
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: And she found out.
- 1:08:36Speaker 7: I intercepted the phone because like something came up on
- 1:08:39Speaker 7: his phone from production and said like, let's talk about
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: the ring. And I was like, what? And we have
- 1:08:43Speaker 7: the same passcodes on our phone. And so I open
- 1:08:45Speaker 7: it up and I'm like, is this guy like trying
- 1:08:47Speaker 7: to propose to me? And like, I was having issues
- 1:08:50Speaker 7: from my previous marriage, meaning like some, still some like
- 1:08:53Speaker 7: struggles from that.
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: And so you were married and divorced before you were
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: engaged to Jeff.
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: Yes. Yes.
- 1:08:59Speaker 7: And and so, you know, and I talked about it
- 1:09:01Speaker 7: on the show, like there was some financial things that
- 1:09:03Speaker 7: I found out about my ex that I didn't know
- 1:09:05Speaker 7: until in the marriage and whatnot. So I just had
- 1:09:08Speaker 7: a lot of like anxiety around being back in a
- 1:09:11Speaker 7: situation that had financial issues. And we talked about openly
- 1:09:14Speaker 7: on the show at that time, he was going through
- 1:09:15Speaker 7: some financial issues. So I was just like, I don't
- 1:09:17Speaker 7: know if I'm ready to be married yet until you
- 1:09:19Speaker 7: get these things worked out, you know? So when I
- 1:09:21Speaker 7: found that out, I was just like, wait, what you're
- 1:09:24Speaker 7: trying to like propose to me.
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: And so, yeah, she messed up.
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: So I messed up. I messed up twice.
- 1:09:29Speaker 7: And then, I mean, I met, I intercepted twice. And
- 1:09:32Speaker 7: then that season, um, sadly, uh, Grayson got really sick
- 1:09:36Speaker 7: and he was flown to New York and he was
- 1:09:39Speaker 7: on life support and he just had, had bad issues
- 1:09:43Speaker 7: from the surgery that he had had. And I just remember,
- 1:09:46Speaker 7: you know, being told by the doctors, like, you need
- 1:09:48Speaker 7: to say your goodbyes.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: Like it was horrible.
- 1:09:50Speaker 7: And I just remember in sitting in that hospital room
- 1:09:52Speaker 7: with him and I was like, you know what?
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: Like life's too short.
- 1:09:55Speaker 7: Like I can't let my past like affect me moving
- 1:09:58Speaker 7: forward with this man.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: You know, I love him. He loves me. This is ridiculous.
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: And that's why I wrote the song. The time is now.
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: Like the times now.
- 1:10:04Speaker 7: Like let's do this. Let's not wait anymore.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: So you have been engaged for like 10 years. How
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: long has it been?
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: Might be more.
- 1:10:13Speaker 7: It might be more.
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: And at this point.
- 1:10:14Speaker 7: We've been together 16 years.
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: At this point, you have a beautiful daughter. You guys
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: have been together 16 years. Engaged for 10 or whatever
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: it is. You have a double ring. You have a
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: big diamond with like a very big band. So. We're married.
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: I mean it seems. Now you feel. What is the reason?
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: Is it. Is it still financial or is it because
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: you're like, it's gone so well, we're going to do a,
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: you know, what's the couple, Goldie Hawn?
- 1:10:42Speaker 7: I always say that. I've always referenced that.
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: Because we did have a date on calendar.
- 1:10:46Speaker 8: I ended up booking a film and we postponed because
- 1:10:49Speaker 8: I went to Mexico for a month on that project.
- 1:10:52Speaker 8: And then we came back and we had conversations about,
- 1:10:54Speaker 8: you know. trying to replant it. And at that time
- 1:10:57Speaker 8: we said, wait, we really want to have a baby.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:10:59Speaker 7: Cause I was like 37 or something at that time.
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: And so we were going through IVF. Right. My fault, uh,
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: to go through the IVF process.
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: And IVF is very expensive. I know.
- 1:11:08Speaker 7: And we went through five rounds of it. So I just,
- 1:11:11Speaker 7: I decided like, rather than putting all this money into
- 1:11:14Speaker 7: a big wedding, I wanted to put it into the
- 1:11:15Speaker 7: IVF at my time was ticking and, And so we
- 1:11:18Speaker 7: put it in the IVF and then after Skylar, we
- 1:11:20Speaker 7: had Skylar, obviously you're in mommy mode and you don't,
- 1:11:23Speaker 7: you feel like crap for two years, you know, getting
- 1:11:25Speaker 7: through the newborn stage and all that. And it really
- 1:11:28Speaker 7: wasn't until just recently this year being back on the
- 1:11:30Speaker 7: show and everybody asking, everybody like, are you going.
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: To get married?
- 1:11:33Speaker 7: Are you going to get married? And we're like, yeah,
- 1:11:35Speaker 7: I mean, now would be a good time because I
- 1:11:37Speaker 7: finally feel good. Skylar's of an age where like, you know,
- 1:11:39Speaker 7: she could be in it. So it's never been about
- 1:11:43Speaker 7: not getting married. And honestly, we're fine with it being
- 1:11:45Speaker 7: like this, too. So like it could go either way.
- 1:11:47Speaker 7: I mean, we're not sitting around right now like let's
- 1:11:49Speaker 7: plan our wedding. You know what I mean? But if, if,
- 1:11:52Speaker 7: if something comes up where we're like, you know what,
- 1:11:54Speaker 7: let's go do the time is now the time is
- 1:11:56Speaker 7: now let's go do a wedding. Then we're not opposed
- 1:11:59Speaker 7: to that either. And back in the day, like even
- 1:12:01Speaker 7: on the show, there was.
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: Coming back on the show where they like, would we,
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: would you guys ever consider doing a wedding on the show?
- 1:12:07Speaker 7: I mean, we've been asked like, you know, a.
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: Couple different times if we would do it.
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:12:10Speaker 7: About just like wedding stuff. But like, Even back in
- 1:12:13Speaker 7: the day, like I was on the show and I
- 1:12:14Speaker 7: remember his mom asking about us getting married. And we're like,
- 1:12:18Speaker 7: we're not going to get married until all of our
- 1:12:20Speaker 7: friends within the LGBTQ plus community can get married. And
- 1:12:22Speaker 7: like that was like our stance for a while, too.
- 1:12:24Speaker 7: It's like, you know, we feel like everybody should be
- 1:12:26Speaker 7: able to be married if they're in love, you know. Right. Um,
- 1:12:30Speaker 7: so there was just, I don't know. It's just interesting.
- 1:12:32Speaker 7: Cause I don't, I don't think we look at each
- 1:12:34Speaker 7: other as not, we call each other husband and wife.
- 1:12:37Speaker 7: We've been together 16 years. We have a child together.
- 1:12:39Speaker 7: So I don't feel like a marriage license is going
- 1:12:41Speaker 7: to make us feel like we're any more married or not.
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: I mean, honestly, you guys are like, a version of
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: Spencer and Heidi too, because everyone made fun of them.
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: Everyone thought they were like the villains. And now people
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: are like, Oh my God, this is like the, they've
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: been together like 16 years. He's, you know, a great
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: husband and dad. They're super committed. Oh my God. And he's,
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: you know, um, you know, really being a voice for
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: everybody that lost something in the fires as well as
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: just like the ultimate hype man husband. Yeah. And, you know,
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: and I remember that early on when we were hanging
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: out before iPhones were so good, Slade would bring a
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: big fucking huge camera around.
- 1:13:21Speaker 7: Oh, yes, he would.
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: He literally would.
- 1:13:24Speaker 7: He was so sweet because I liked the photos not
- 1:13:28Speaker 7: on the camera because they were ugly back then.
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: The cameras are so much better now.
- 1:13:32Speaker 7: But I would ask him to bring the big camera
- 1:13:34Speaker 7: because we look better on the pictures.
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: I know.
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: I remember we all went to dinner one night. I
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: think Mastro's ironically yeah it was like uh that's right
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: yeah and yeah yes and um we actually actually came
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: from heather debrow's book party oh how funny with terry
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: that's which that was one of those no offense people
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: do it but it was like the book wasn't out
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: yeah it was one of those things like let's promote
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: the book which you should do anyway pre-orders are important
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: before whatever so I went to the book party and
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: that was fun and that's you know and I didn't
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: know that was I think during the Cancer Brooks thing
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: and I remember Vicky's like they're so mean to me
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: you have no idea what's going on I don't know
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: what the Brooks Cancer thing you know so I'm like
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: what's going on then we go meet you guys for
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: dinner yeah Slade has this good camera camera yeah it
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: was I was like oh my god like that's hilarious
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: yeah there was the other time we went to a
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: Christmas like three Christmas parties in LA I know we've
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: been to a lot of events over the years you
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: know it was fun and it is it is one
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: of those things that, yeah, when you see like, oh
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: my God, you know, you were from there from the
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: beginning and you had these other girls. How did you
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: feel when you saw Joe come to the party with Tamara?
- 1:14:46Speaker 7: You know, the thing that was interesting about that scene
- 1:14:49Speaker 7: is I really didn't care about Joe because as far
- 1:14:51Speaker 7: as Joe, like that's so old history, I don't care, whatever.
- 1:14:55Speaker 7: Her and I had had a talk at BravoCon and
- 1:14:57Speaker 7: I thought we were all good and everything was fine.
- 1:15:00Speaker 7: The part that, rubbed me the wrong ways. It was
- 1:15:03Speaker 7: obviously Tamara trying to cause issues. And the thing that
- 1:15:06Speaker 7: frustrates me is Tamara's out, you know, impressed saying, oh,
- 1:15:09Speaker 7: Gretchen's so stuck in the past.
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: She's just all about the past.
- 1:15:13Speaker 7: She can't let anything go to, but yet she walks
- 1:15:15Speaker 7: through the door with the past. I'm like, who is,
- 1:15:18Speaker 7: who's holding onto the past here? You know, like, It just,
- 1:15:21Speaker 7: it obviously was to get my goat, which it didn't work.
- 1:15:24Speaker 7: And that's why I said in the episode, like, you're
- 1:15:26Speaker 7: getting rusty here because this isn't even getting my goat.
- 1:15:29Speaker 7: And the truth is too, is Joe had been asking
- 1:15:33Speaker 7: and trying to get on the show. And so it
- 1:15:35Speaker 7: was like, Come on, Joe.
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: Like, really?
- 1:15:37Speaker 7: You're going to walk in with my arch nemesis, like
- 1:15:38Speaker 7: of all the people.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: And you can't blame if Joe wants to get back
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: on the show. You know, like I'm in the mix.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: So it's not about that. But it's like the fact that.
- 1:15:47Speaker 7: But again, and her and I actually kind of got
- 1:15:49Speaker 7: in a fight about that because she was like, you
- 1:15:52Speaker 7: call me desperate on a podcast. And I go, well,
- 1:15:53Speaker 7: I feel like you are desperate.
- 1:15:54Speaker 8: Like.
- 1:15:55Speaker 7: You're literally calling production. I didn't have to call production.
- 1:15:57Speaker 7: They called me. I said no three times. Like you're calling,
- 1:16:01Speaker 7: trying to get on the show. And I'm not like
- 1:16:03Speaker 7: you're calling all the housewives, trying to hang out with
- 1:16:05Speaker 7: them when you're not even friends with them. You're walking
- 1:16:07Speaker 7: in the door with Tamra. Like, why are you trying
- 1:16:09Speaker 7: so hard? I didn't have to even try. Like, so
- 1:16:11Speaker 7: we got in a fight actually on camera. They didn't
- 1:16:14Speaker 7: show it.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: So why this time did you say yes? at this
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: point in your life?
- 1:16:18Speaker 7: I think there was a lot, there was a lot
- 1:16:20Speaker 7: that went into the decision. I mean, obviously it was
- 1:16:23Speaker 7: months of, of negotiations and talking through it. And even
- 1:16:27Speaker 7: when Alex Baskin first called me, I was just like, yeah,
- 1:16:30Speaker 7: I don't know. And he's like, listen, he's like, just
- 1:16:32Speaker 7: take the meeting with the execs when they're in town,
- 1:16:34Speaker 7: they're in town a couple of weeks from now, just
- 1:16:37Speaker 7: take the meeting, just hear what they have to say.
- 1:16:39Speaker 7: So I was like, okay, you know, I'll do that.
- 1:16:41Speaker 7: I'll hear him out. So, um, and it was funny
- 1:16:44Speaker 7: because every time I would say no, Alex would just
- 1:16:46Speaker 7: be like, okay, okay, I respect that. But then like
- 1:16:49Speaker 7: two days later, he'd be calling me again. I was like, gosh,
- 1:16:52Speaker 7: and the third time that he called me, I was like,
- 1:16:53Speaker 7: you really want me back on the show. I was like,
- 1:16:56Speaker 7: what is up? And so really when it came down
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: to it, I think I just said to Slade, look,
- 1:17:03Speaker 7: if there's any time to come back to the show
- 1:17:06Speaker 7: now probably would be the optimal time because I had organic,
- 1:17:11Speaker 7: real relationships with girls in the cast. I had become
- 1:17:14Speaker 7: friendly with Katie. I had been friends with Jin now
- 1:17:16Speaker 7: for a couple years. He'd known Ryan for 20 years
- 1:17:19Speaker 7: because they both worked back in the real estate business.
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: Who's the nicest guy, by the way?
- 1:17:23Speaker 7: The nicest guy ever.
- 1:17:24Speaker 4: Literally 20 years.
- 1:17:25Speaker 8: He was my rep at Countrywide Mortgage. I've known him forever.
- 1:17:29Speaker 7: Shannon and I reconnected at an event. And so her
- 1:17:34Speaker 7: and I were back, you know, talking and being good.
- 1:17:36Speaker 7: I've known Heather for years. I've known Emily for years.
- 1:17:39Speaker 7: The only one I actually really didn't know was Gina.
- 1:17:41Speaker 7: And like, but we would always like comment on each
- 1:17:43Speaker 7: other's Instagram.
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: We're supportive. So I was like, you know what?
- 1:17:46Speaker 7: If there was a time to come back, it probably
- 1:17:48Speaker 7: would be now where I actually have real organic friendships
- 1:17:51Speaker 7: with these girls. And, um, and so I, and that's
- 1:17:55Speaker 7: really why I came on. Everyone's like, oh, you came
- 1:17:56Speaker 7: on to like, do this thing with Tamara. I'm like, no,
- 1:17:59Speaker 7: I actually really didn't. As a matter of fact, I
- 1:18:00Speaker 7: had that specific talk with Alex of like, I don't
- 1:18:03Speaker 7: want to come on and just have this like full
- 1:18:05Speaker 7: out thing with Tamara. Like, that's not my intent. And
- 1:18:08Speaker 7: he's like, that's not our intent either. We just have
- 1:18:11Speaker 7: to see where it goes. And unfortunately that's where it
- 1:18:13Speaker 7: goes because, and this is the thing I, this is
- 1:18:16Speaker 7: another thing that I really like want to address about
- 1:18:19Speaker 7: what's being said.
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: In the press.
- 1:18:21Speaker 7: What frustrates me is I didn't come back with a
- 1:18:23Speaker 7: vengeance for Tamara. I didn't any of this, but everybody
- 1:18:26Speaker 7: has to understand when Tamara starts repeating the same patterns
- 1:18:30Speaker 7: as she always does and starts saying the same things
- 1:18:33Speaker 7: and starts playing the like, feel sorry for me, feel
- 1:18:35Speaker 7: bad for me. Of course, it's going to trigger me.
- 1:18:37Speaker 7: Of course, it's going to make me bring things up.
- 1:18:40Speaker 7: And she's been doing the same thing for the last
- 1:18:42Speaker 7: 15 years. So it wasn't even just about me anymore.
- 1:18:45Speaker 7: She had done it to Jen. She had done it
- 1:18:47Speaker 7: to Ryan. She had done it to Shannon. She had
- 1:18:48Speaker 7: done it to her friend, Heather. She had done it
- 1:18:50Speaker 7: again and again and again and again to everyone. So
- 1:18:53Speaker 7: it was like, I just was simply stating that. I
- 1:18:56Speaker 7: was like, you don't learn. You don't learn your lesson.
- 1:18:58Speaker 7: You literally make up lies. And then you get to
- 1:19:01Speaker 7: a point where you get sued for your lies and
- 1:19:03Speaker 7: you still do it. Like you still go on and
- 1:19:06Speaker 7: talk shit about people.
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: She thinks she's so clever, by the way.
- 1:19:09Speaker 8: It shows all her. They're always talking about me. Yes,
- 1:19:12Speaker 8: because you're doing the most stupid, egregious things on the show.
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: Of course we're talking about you. You don't think we
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: see the pattern.
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:19:18Speaker 8: You don't think we see that you, your first husband
- 1:19:21Speaker 8: called you out for cheating on him. You got caught
- 1:19:23Speaker 8: cheating on Simon.
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: Then you were with Eddie.
- 1:19:25Speaker 8: Then there's articles that come out about you having a
- 1:19:27Speaker 8: fling while you're with Eddie, but you're going to point
- 1:19:30Speaker 8: your finger at Jen and go, Oh, you're the cheater.
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: You're the cheater. You know? Oh, you're the deadbeat dad. Well,
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: your kids are the ones that came out and said
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: you were the monster mom.
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: Not your kid. Not mine.
- 1:19:40Speaker 7: Yours.
- 1:19:41Speaker 4: So there's this deflection. Every time she points her finger,
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: it's because she's doing something behind the scenes. Oh, you're
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: the ones leaking stories.
- 1:19:47Speaker 7: But then she wants to say, anytime there's a microphone
- 1:19:49Speaker 7: in front of me, I'm talking about her. Yes, because
- 1:19:52Speaker 7: people ask me about all the stuff that you've done
- 1:19:54Speaker 7: to me over the years. So I'm going to respond
- 1:19:56Speaker 7: to the questions I'm getting asked.
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: Speaking of which, the Jen fat photo thing, I will say,
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: was kind of funny. Just in that she's just like,
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: like major shit's going down and Jen's like, And if
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: we're just being honest, can I ask about the fact that.
- 1:20:11Speaker 7: It was like, I thought it was pretty funny.
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: Her delivery of that was funny.
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: She is very, I think she's really likable. Oh, she's
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: the best. She is nice to look at. She is
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: very attractive. And, you know, it's funny because, you know,
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: it's like, oh my God, she wanted to be me.
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: She started to working, working out. She got hair extensions.
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: She got lip filler. I'm like, well, that's every woman needs.
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: Not just in Newport, but every woman. Yes, exactly. You
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: get divorced, you have a fucking glow up.
- 1:20:39Speaker 7: But by the way, it's the most narcissistic thing to say.
- 1:20:44Speaker 7: And Tamara has said that about everybody, by the way.
- 1:20:46Speaker 7: She said Lizzie wanted to be here. She said I
- 1:20:48Speaker 7: wanted to be here. Now it's Jen.
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: You're obsessed with her. Lizzie's obsessed with her.
- 1:20:51Speaker 7: Yeah, we're all obsessed with her and we all want
- 1:20:53Speaker 7: to be Tamara. Newsflash, nobody wants to be you, Tamara.
- 1:20:56Speaker 7: Like nobody wants to be you. It's ridiculous that she
- 1:20:59Speaker 7: even makes those claims. And it really is such a
- 1:21:01Speaker 7: narcissistic thing to say.
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: And, you know, the audience, in the comments at least,
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: doesn't really seem to be very sympathetic to blaming poor,
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: cruel behavior on a friend suffering with cancer. Don't even
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: get me started on this. And people brought up, you know, well,
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: Kyle's been Teddy's friend for many years to the point
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: that Teddy lived with her after they separated, she and
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: her husband. Right. Kyle's never, you know, done anything, you know,
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: tried to, we don't know. We also don't know because
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: we're there filming now. So we don't know what's Teddy's
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: going through, Kyle's going through, but I'm just saying with that. And,
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: you know, I saw in an interview, this is my
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: recollection that Tamara even was saying things about her podcast partner. Like,
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: you know, it's really sad. She can't remember things. She can't,
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: she doesn't remember that. She said, when do you start filming?
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: And I'm like, you know, Tanya, we already finished, you know,
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: wrapping up. And I remember watching that and thinking to myself, well,
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: if I had a podcast with someone in which you
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: have to be sharp and remember things and whatever, even
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: if the story was true, I don't think I would
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: share it. Why would you share about your partner possibly
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: having trouble grasping at words because.
- 1:22:15Speaker 4: She's under cancer treatment? She's planning a takeover.
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: Well, who knows? I don't know, but I just thought,
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: That's interesting. That could be not bright or it could be.
- 1:22:24Speaker 7: Strategic or whatever.
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: Or not kind to do to your friend. Because she
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: is still doing the show. And when I see it,
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: it seems like she's, you know, keeping up her work
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: as far as talking about these shows and everything, Teddy,
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: and still doing everything that she used to do. And
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: everybody obviously wants her to recover and succeed as a mom. Well, see,
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: and that's the thing. I don't think anybody... didn't.
- 1:22:44Speaker 7: Have compassion for what Tamara was, and I hate to
- 1:22:48Speaker 7: even say what Tamara was going through because really it's
- 1:22:50Speaker 7: what Teddy's going through. It's not what Tamara's going through.
- 1:22:53Speaker 7: Tamara happens to be a good friend of Teddy's and
- 1:22:56Speaker 7: I understand that it could affect her, but I'm sorry,
- 1:22:59Speaker 7: when Jeff was going through cancer, I wasn't an asshole.
- 1:23:02Speaker 7: When his son died, he wasn't an asshole. Like it
- 1:23:05Speaker 7: doesn't give you free reign to still be an asshole
- 1:23:08Speaker 7: and be a bad person. And that's the point that
- 1:23:11Speaker 7: everyone is angry about online. It's like she always has
- 1:23:14Speaker 7: an excuse for her behavior. It's like, oh, I was
- 1:23:17Speaker 7: horrible to Shannon because I'm on the spectrum. Oh, I
- 1:23:20Speaker 7: was mad to you. I mean, you even see it
- 1:23:22Speaker 7: on one episode with me. Oh, I was treating you
- 1:23:24Speaker 7: that way because I was in a bad marriage with Simon. Oh,
- 1:23:27Speaker 7: I was this because Eddie had a heart thing. Oh,
- 1:23:30Speaker 7: all of this stuff, she always.
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: Has an excuse. And Simon suffered a lot.
- 1:23:34Speaker 7: Going through cancer too. And here's the thing, all those
- 1:23:37Speaker 7: things might be true that those people are going through
- 1:23:39Speaker 7: those things. Nobody's doubting that any of that is true.
- 1:23:42Speaker 7: It's that she uses all of those things as excuses
- 1:23:45Speaker 7: for her behavior. And that's why I went out and
- 1:23:47Speaker 7: made that post. And I just said, look, at the
- 1:23:50Speaker 7: end of the day, like, cause she was like, Oh
- 1:23:53Speaker 7: God forbid you ever have to go through what I've
- 1:23:55Speaker 7: gone through and deal with the pain and depression I'm
- 1:23:58Speaker 7: going through. I'm like, I, I, what are you talking about?
- 1:24:01Speaker 7: Like I am, I know exactly what that feels like.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: My PS, like, do you.
- 1:24:06Speaker 7: Remember my fiance died? His can't, his son died. Like,
- 1:24:11Speaker 7: how dare you say something like that?
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: You know, like that is.
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: So far fetched. You see the pattern, right?
- 1:24:17Speaker 8: The pattern to me is like reputation management. The minute
- 1:24:20Speaker 8: she gets called out again for her behavior.
- 1:24:22Speaker 4: Oh, I'm going to go get baptized now. So I
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: don't just go get baptized.
- 1:24:26Speaker 8: I'm going to find an empty swimming pool of my
- 1:24:29Speaker 8: buddy's listing at a hotel.
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: No, it was at a hotel. I said, why didn't
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: they do it at someone's house? It was at the
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: Balboa Bay Club.
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: Balboa Bay Club.
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: And it's just like.
- 1:24:42Speaker 8: Because the local pastors also know.
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: You see the chair for handicapped people to get down in.
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: I saw the five feet, the three feet. And it
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: was kind of a gloomy day and I was like,
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: I don't know. I think I would have had it.
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: Someone said, I would think I would have gone into
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: Vicki's grotto, but whatever.
- 1:25:01Speaker 8: But we've had people in that circle say, well, she
- 1:25:03Speaker 8: did it because she said that no one would challenge
- 1:25:05Speaker 8: her faith. And that now all of a sudden she's
- 1:25:07Speaker 8: renewed and she's a new person.
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: Cause it's about, I.
- 1:25:09Speaker 7: Actually was told that she said that she wanted to
- 1:25:12Speaker 7: do that because all of the Christians are sheep and
- 1:25:15Speaker 7: they'll just believe anything. I was like, and it was
- 1:25:18Speaker 7: one of her close friends, but anyways, but the point is,
- 1:25:21Speaker 7: is that, um, You know, and like even this season,
- 1:25:23Speaker 7: she's like, oh, you're talking about the past. Tamara, you
- 1:25:26Speaker 7: are literally in therapy talking about your past and about
- 1:25:30Speaker 7: all the things that cause you trauma. So I'm not
- 1:25:32Speaker 7: allowed to talk about the things that cause me trauma.
- 1:25:34Speaker 7: You just happen to be one of the people that
- 1:25:36Speaker 7: caused me a lot of trauma. So why are you
- 1:25:38Speaker 7: allowed to talk about your past, but I'm not? I'm
- 1:25:40Speaker 7: just out of line for talking about it.
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: That's the connection. You're not the only one she causes
- 1:25:43Speaker 4: trauma to. Causes trauma to everyone.
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: That's part of the problem. Yeah, I really wonder. Yeah, it's,
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: you know, It is very interesting, you know, in the
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: history of the show. When it first started, it was just,
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: you know, following families and really like getting a peek
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: inside of their home, which I understand why it has...
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: become more than that because we can look on our
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: phone on lots of different families in their home now.
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: So it's like, we do need to see the interaction
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: between the women and even though it's changed, I'm still intrigued.
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: I'm never going to stop watching your show. Like I'm
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: very intrigued just because I, you know, I've watched all
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: these years, know all you guys, but you know, it
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: was the moment in my opinion that she chose to
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: throw the drink that changed the trajectory of, And I
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: think that, I don't know if that happened before. Give
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: me another, you know, Juicy Scoop history person. But like,
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: I don't know if that happened before or after the
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: flip of the table.
- 1:26:45Speaker 7: I think it happened before.
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: I think it was before.
- 1:26:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: Yeah. And then the flip of the table happened. And
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: then it was like, okay, now this is our women's
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: version of like football or whatever. And, you know, and
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: we get. We have to ump the ante almost. Yeah,
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: like that kind of a thing.
- 1:26:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: And so, you know, you wonder like what. what is
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: the real motivation or when you like step out of
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: it and you, you've done it for so long. When
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: I think, cause some of you have been, not you consistently,
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: you've been on a lot of years, but you had
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: this big chunk. But when I think of like a
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: Jax Taylor, a Tamara, when it's like almost coming on
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: a third of your life, you know, that you've been
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: on the, like, I do think it gets to a
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: place where you're not thinking about real life anymore. Like,
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: it's almost like, that's why I think it's really a,
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: that's why I think it's like a fascinating study besides
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: being entertaining. And I'm not making excuses for anyone. I
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: just think it, like, talking about it, I do think
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: it's kind of fascinating.
- 1:27:42Speaker 7: Well, and what's frustrating to me as, you know, just
- 1:27:45Speaker 7: as a viewer and also a cast member that was
- 1:27:47Speaker 7: on Half a Decade is that, you know, I constantly
- 1:27:50Speaker 7: see people like Tamara out in the press going, oh,
- 1:27:53Speaker 7: I'm just, you know, what else would you get if
- 1:27:56Speaker 7: I didn't do this?
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: And I'm the villain.
- 1:27:58Speaker 7: And then she said, even on Watch What Happens Live,
- 1:28:00Speaker 7: she's like, oh, well, I just did that just for TV.
- 1:28:03Speaker 7: And it's like, to me, it's insulting to me when
- 1:28:05Speaker 7: I'm coming on there and really giving like my real
- 1:28:08Speaker 7: life and really just being me. And I'm not trying
- 1:28:10Speaker 7: to like up the ante for something, you know, like
- 1:28:12Speaker 7: even that scene, like, with, um, with Shannon this season.
- 1:28:16Speaker 7: Like that wasn't me like plotting and planning behind the scenes.
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: It really came to your head of like, well, honestly,
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: like if you're going to say filming someone is illegal, well,
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: so is getting a DUI. And I still chose to
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: be friends with you, which was like, and you did
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: say it in the moment and you know, it wasn't like.
- 1:28:30Speaker 7: And it wasn't a great thing to say. Cause I
- 1:28:32Speaker 7: love Shannon.
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: She's my friend.
- 1:28:33Speaker 7: But like at the end of the day, it was
- 1:28:34Speaker 7: a real authentic moment. And so for me, I would
- 1:28:38Speaker 7: like that, you know, these reality shows actually still be that.
- 1:28:42Speaker 7: And so it's hard when you're filming with people that
- 1:28:45Speaker 7: are just like, oh, I just got to give, you know,
- 1:28:47Speaker 7: this whole like thing. And it's like they're willing to
- 1:28:50Speaker 7: say and do anything for this moment. And it's like,
- 1:28:53Speaker 7: I think we can actually have a lot of moments
- 1:28:55Speaker 7: without trying to like have this moment or like make
- 1:28:58Speaker 7: shit up about people or.
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: Go wreck their life.
- 1:29:01Speaker 4: That's the problem.
- 1:29:02Speaker 7: That's just sometimes for me, you're taking it too far.
- 1:29:05Speaker 4: Those people are profiting off the hardship of others.
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:29:08Speaker 8: Manufacturing things that wreck lives, get them canceled, get them fired,
- 1:29:11Speaker 8: wreck marriages.
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: And they're profiting from it.
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: As the audience, we don't want that. You know, I,
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: I love the show. I think it's juicy. It is juicy.
- 1:29:21Speaker 7: This season keeps getting better.
- 1:29:22Speaker 4: It's pretty juicy.
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: And by the way, you know, and every season has
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: a different thing. Sometimes there's a great cast and it's
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: really just funny, silly shit. Sometimes someone breaks up with
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: their husband and the girls gather around and sometimes it's
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: this too.
- 1:29:35Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: And that's what makes it really good reality TV. And
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: I'm glad that you guys are back. I'm glad you
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: guys finally came here.
- 1:29:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:29:42Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:29:42Speaker 7: And you guys got to stay tuned for next week.
- 1:29:44Speaker 7: Cause it's even like, that's a whole thing again. Like,
- 1:29:47Speaker 7: I think that we're, cause we go through the lie
- 1:29:49Speaker 7: detector test. So I think it's going to be a
- 1:29:50Speaker 7: whole nother round of like, wait, what? Like the story
- 1:29:53Speaker 7: just keeps changing every single week. And even us as
- 1:29:56Speaker 7: cast members, we're like trying to follow the story because
- 1:29:58Speaker 7: we're like, wait, what happened now?
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: This is happening.
- 1:30:01Speaker 7: And I think that's, what's fun about this season in
- 1:30:04Speaker 7: particular is I think, you know, a lot of seasons
- 1:30:06Speaker 7: have like a linear story all throughout the season. And
- 1:30:09Speaker 7: I think every single week there's like a new story
- 1:30:12Speaker 7: going on.
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: So I think that makes it interesting. Yeah. So obviously
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: it's on Bravo.
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: It airs every Thursday.
- 1:30:19Speaker 7: Night at 9 p.m.
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: Also on Peacock, the greatest invention ever, in my opinion. Peacock,
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: you can watch it the next day, and there's sometimes
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: extended scenes. There's the after show. I think that's on Bravo, too,
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: but I like the after shows. And, of course, follow
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: Gretchen Rossi. Now, you probably don't have Instagram, do you?
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: Not really.
- 1:30:43Speaker 7: I mean, he does, but he doesn't really post it.
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: So it's Gretchen Rossi. You have, you know, whatever, two
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: million people following. What? Yeah, it's just at Gretchen Rossi.
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: Just Gretchen Rossi.
- 1:30:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: And, you know, and your Instagram is really fun and
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: really fun to watch and great, you know, You know,
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: give great tips and all that.
- 1:31:01Speaker 4: My wife is cute.
- 1:31:02Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: And she's cute. I have fun. I love all my fans.
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: Thank you so much for coming. I really appreciate it.

- 1:31:14Speaker 2: I've got another great interview coming later on this week
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: that you will die over with Real Housewives of Miami.

- 1:31:25Speaker 2: this is leaning up to the greatest night ever, which
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: will be November 14th. The Friday of BravoCon in Las Vegas.
