Transcript
- 0:14Every year for Christmas we would take that screenshot of
- 0:18the little Grinch with the tree and we would all post on our
- 0:21Instagrams. We did this for a long time
- 0:23before he got really fucking angry and reported all the
- 0:25photos. But we would tag Wheeler and be
- 0:27like, hey look, it's Wheeler on Christmas morning when he gets
- 0:29his shit rocked by his dad instead of getting presents.
- 0:32Oh. My God.
- 0:38He got, he got pretty sick of it, pretty like after the third
- 0:41year he goes when there's 15 people commenting on my dad
- 0:44Beats Me on Christmas and posting a picture of Baby
- 0:47Grinch. It gets kind of old.
- 0:48You know, I'm like, you bully everybody.
- 0:51He's like, not on Christmas. Like.
- 0:53Christmas, it's a sacred holiday.
- 0:56That's like the line. It's like what are you talking
- 0:58about bro you deserve this. Quit being soft.
- 1:03I didn't say that, I just went Oh my bad bro and.
- 1:07Then you did it the next year. Didn't you did it?
- 1:09Yeah. Well, every year.
- 1:11Every year until we he started reporting it.
- 1:13So I was like Azar Azar. He'll forget you should do it
- 1:16again this year, just because. I don't follow him.
- 1:19He is. I had him unfollow me and I am
- 1:22tumultuous. I don't want.
- 1:23To just say you blocked him, do it.
- 1:25I didn't block him, I just made. Him.
- 1:27Follow him to tag him. Yeah, just tag him.
- 1:30Oh, I'll do it. I'll do it.
- 1:32Just wait till Christmas morning, go to my feed.
- 1:34You're going to laugh your ass off.
- 1:37You know what? You won't laugh your ass off
- 1:39too. Probably this episode because
- 1:42it's a pretty divisive 1. Welcome back to the WASD and
- 1:45Beyond podcast, everybody. We are your hosts, Nick, Brody
- 1:48and Evan. All three of us are in a virtual
- 1:51room together in the Internet, and we're having a great time.
- 1:56Yeah, we're in the Internet. We are in the Internet.
- 2:00We can't be together at all because the roads suck, Brody
- 2:04lives far, and no one wants to be around Nick anyways.
- 2:07It's all right. It's the greatest travesty.
- 2:12It's I'm not what is happening? About that anyways yeah welcome
- 2:18back to the show everybody before we get into it, check out
- 2:20the sponsors final boss and screen box and doc longing and
- 2:23all the cool shit right down below go check all that out.

- 2:47you can put it in our comments section how much you hate us on
- 2:49YouTube. Go like and subscribe there and
- 2:51then post a bunch of hate. That's good.
- 2:53We want it. Bring it.
- 2:55You make people talk about us. You like rage maxing right now?
- 2:58Are you like trying to piss people off so much that they you
- 3:00get views for it or like listen to what's the goal?
- 3:03Here seems that way. He's gonna be the thumbnail for
- 3:06sure. That's the vague idea I'm
- 3:08getting out of this. The thumbnails will be me going
- 3:11but is it bad? I have that exact picture.
- 3:15I was gonna say that's you. Fuck, that's definitely
- 3:18somewhere. Man of a few typical faces.
- 3:22Anyways, the game awards have come and gone.
- 3:27Evan, myself and John have to re record an episode because the
- 3:31episode that we recorded sounded like Diary of a Madman and it
- 3:37will be released in like a year from now.
- 3:38As a ha ha, I'm I saved that. Off over, over my dead body,
- 3:43ladies and gentlemen. I'll pay and owe you 10 bucks.
- 3:46That's OK. That's not.
- 3:48Release the Evan Cut now. Yeah, dude, that's lore.
- 3:52Now we have an Evan. Cut just just released the six
- 3:54minutes of me laughing because I don't know what I'm laughing at.
- 3:57There was I still nothing will ever beat the year where you
- 4:01were wearing the full suit. That was good.
- 4:04That was a good year. That was a.
- 4:05Good year. That was a good year overall,
- 4:07the whole. I think I slowed that clip of
- 4:09the drunk Evan Cam. Oh yeah, that was good.
- 4:11That was a good one. This one was work.
- 4:13This wasn't like funny the the the episode that we did that was
- 4:16live on Twitch so. It's just incomprehensible.
- 4:20It's just like. You're gibberish.
- 4:22At one point he is slurring his words.
- 4:25I'm like, yeah, man. How about the dev stranded?
- 4:29Yeah. And Evan, it's God damn.
- 4:30It's oh, it's bad. It is bad.
- 4:32Awful, but Des stranded, he released one.
- 4:36Yeah, Des Strandedon. That's just, yeah, just
- 4:39Strandedon. We are nothing if not
- 4:41professional here. We had a blast.
- 4:44I don't care Game Awards has come and gone.
- 4:48Mixed reactions there from the entire community from Expedition
- 4:5333 winning everything it was nominated for to what didn't win
- 4:58and just the overall presentation really How the game
- 5:01awards ended the lead off video game.
- 5:04Everyone went OK and everyone who's involved is going what do
- 5:10you mean it's cool? And everyone went no, that's
- 5:12shit from a butt. Which one was the lead off?
- 5:16It's the IT was the hero shooter where it felt like just a bunch
- 5:19of slop thrown together. I was thinking lead off as in
- 5:22like the start you're talking. About yeah, the end.
- 5:25He means the like the the one more thing.
- 5:29Yeah, whatever. Yeah and and John I will say got
- 5:32me with this cuz the next day I was in the discord and obviously
- 5:35I'm hungover and he's like yeah you really liked that last game
- 5:38And I was like no I didn't. I was like cuz I saw it
- 5:41obviously throughout Friday and I was so mad at it cuz I was
- 5:43like that's the last game they showed and John was like no, you
- 5:47actually did not like it. And I was like, OK, good to see
- 5:49it's consistent. The only thing that does have
- 5:54going for it is the fact that it is free to play.
- 5:57So on that's your happenstance that that game comes out and
- 6:01doesn't suck complete balls. It might actually survive
- 6:05because it's free to play, unlike Marathon.
- 6:08Or. Rivals, you don't want to spend
- 6:1040 bucks on that shit for a but. No.
- 6:13Or or record, right? Yeah.
- 6:15Overwatch is. Rivals is free.
- 6:18Overwatch is free. Oh, Rivals is free too, That's
- 6:20right. I I don't know why I was
- 6:21thinking otherwise. So I I mean that that is one
- 6:24thing it does have in its corner.
- 6:27They they picked the right price for people to be like, fuck it,
- 6:30I will try it and maybe it's good.
- 6:32I from the trailer, I'm not excited, but it's at at least
- 6:37there is that possibility of like, hey man, maybe the
- 6:39movement in this game is a lot of fun and but why is everything
- 6:42got to be a fucking hero shooter?
- 6:44Like why was that any? Of that, if that game was just a
- 6:49regular multiplayer game, I could see how it could be fun,
- 6:52but the fact they made it a hero shooter is what takes me out of
- 6:55it. I'm like, I don't, I don't know.
- 6:56We have those. Yes.
- 6:58There's a lot of good amount of them.
- 7:00What if they made it like I mean it's Titanfall devs right Ex
- 7:04respawn devs? If they had made it just like a
- 7:07a Titanfall multiplayer without the Max and some destructible
- 7:11environments it could have been really cool.
- 7:14Just do just do the pilots or the arena like the 3V3 mode from
- 7:17Apex has its own game or do like yeah, like you said, like where
- 7:20it's just team deathmatch with the pilots from Titanfall and
- 7:23like some planet somewhere. But yeah, they just have no Max
- 7:25or something like that. Or just stop being little
- 7:27bitches and go back to Titanfall.
- 7:29Go back to making Titanfall. I just want Titanfall 3.
- 7:32Just make Titanfall 3 like oh you.
- 7:33Want also ends with three. They're, I was going to say
- 7:36they're reversed to something with three now too.
- 7:38There's a, it's an, it's an infection.
- 7:40Why didn't you ever talk to me the other day, Nick?
- 7:43There should never be a. Last oh what he's 3 on this 11
- 7:45timeout timeout. Evan, what do you?
- 7:47Want to talk about? I'm curious.
- 7:52No, I won't put you through. No, because not on the show.
- 7:55No, no, I don't need your sassy ass coming after me.
- 7:59Technically speaking, what we are discussing today does have
- 8:03direct correlation to a specific thing in that sphere, but we'll
- 8:08get to that later. There is a with all the RAM
- 8:11prices and the. 6° of Half Life 3, Is that what I'm hearing?
- 8:146° of valve at this point I mean.
- 8:16It's gonna be ARC Raiders 1 multiplayer game award.
- 8:22So Gen. AI caused RAM prices to spike,
- 8:25which is why Steam Machine won't get announced.
- 8:28Which is why Half Life through there's like four or five
- 8:30degrees I'm getting. There, that's that that.
- 8:33Bertie's. Bertie's like trying to go
- 8:35through the data census. Let me grab my tinfoil hat real
- 8:37quick. Yeah, yeah, I'll put that on all
- 8:39right. I need to make one for this
- 8:41show. I think every time Nick starts
- 8:43going on 1/2 life three thing just.
- 8:46Just it's more shitly desk somewhere.
- 8:48More shitly. More shitly.
- 8:49Uh huh, uh huh. And just like we were going to
- 8:52get the announcement at The Game Awards.
- 8:53We were so close. I don't think so were.
- 8:56We were we because the one last thing was a hero shooter.
- 8:59I never truly thought we would get that at the game.
- 9:02It's a hope, right? If it wasn't going to be
- 9:04released prior. It's always been a hope, pretty.
- 9:06Confident I. Feel some type of way?
- 9:09Real life note here, but at work leading up to the Game Awards
- 9:13last week, I would occasionally lean over and I would look and
- 9:16see what Nick had on. And it was 99% of the time
- 9:19almost always Tyler Mcvicker on Twitch.
- 9:23And it was like, it looks like it looks like that image of
- 9:26Charlie from It's Always Sunny with the Pepe Sylvia board.
- 9:29Like it looks like every stream image looks like that on his
- 9:33stream because he just looks insane.
- 9:35He's like, he's like, it's here and it's like, it probably is,
- 9:38but like you don't need to do all this.
- 9:39It's got. Red strings strung up
- 9:41everywhere. It's like wrapped around his
- 9:42neck and wrapped around his spiders and just yeah, it.
- 9:45Got Oh yeah, it's everywhere. It got so bad at me for work
- 9:48that I was being roasted by my like boss boss while my boss
- 9:53boss was going on a trip. It was like, hey how, how was
- 9:57that Half life 3 announcement? You a nerd?
- 9:59And I went. Specifically said he
- 10:02specifically said. I'm so happy that he said I'm
- 10:04specifically he was like, I'm so happy at that.
- 10:06Half Life 3 got announced. Oh, wait.
- 10:09And then? It's not, it's not Valve style.
- 10:12They would absolutely just announce that shit on a random
- 10:14Tuesday and be like what will happen?
- 10:16Fucking take it. Right, which is what will
- 10:18happen. But to get back.
- 10:19At another Half Life game, not Half Life 3 because it's never
- 10:22happening. I love you.
- 10:23I'm sorry. Love you.
- 10:24But to get back at him and Brendan, what I did was they
- 10:28were, they were. They're in, they were in a
- 10:31different state and I found out which bar they were at and I
- 10:35hijacked the touch tunes. So I started I, I had, I had
- 10:39coins. So I played Tiny Tim over the
- 10:42touch tunes while they were in the bar.
- 10:45And so people had the entire bar, I guess was like, what the
- 10:48fuck is this? Because all you hear is tip
- 10:51throw through the Tulip while you're trying to drink.
- 10:54Yep. And then, and then, and then we
- 10:56rickrolled them. Connor and I rickrolled them
- 10:58too. Hell yeah, that's.
- 11:00Good states away and I got the answers anyways.
- 11:02Anyways. Speaking of getting rickrolled.
- 11:06Yeah, fuck. Gen.
- 11:07AI, yeah. So Gen. generative AIAI in
- 11:14general in the gaming industry right now is kind of a hot
- 11:16topic. The word slop this year is the.
- 11:20Webster. That's Merriam Webster's word of
- 11:22the Year. Yeah, awful stuff we are going
- 11:26through in this timeline. It's divide.
- 11:29It's it's very divisive, right? So either people are like, it's,
- 11:35it's a right or they're like, absolutely not.
- 11:39We, I guess, are going to put ourselves in the crossfire here
- 11:43and give our opinions on generative AI.
- 11:48Brody and I did not agree to walk out and do a firing squad.
- 11:51I'll walk into the firing squad all.
- 11:53Right. Fuck it.
- 11:54I'll fucking do it. I think it has a place when used
- 12:00in a way that is not taking jobs from someone and used as a
- 12:04device to help make games or repeat actions that have already
- 12:09been done. Or in the case of Larian, right,
- 12:13that's the big one that came out in the last couple days.
- 12:15They're like, yeah, we use some AI and it got completely
- 12:18misconstrued because journalists are Jack offs.
- 12:22And Swin came out and was like, hey, we use it basically in the
- 12:27dream boarding phase, right? Like getting ideas.
- 12:30As someone who runs DND campaigns, I also use it
- 12:34sometimes to get ideas because I'm fucking brain dead when it
- 12:37comes to making things from time to time.
- 12:39Right. I don't ever use the ideas they
- 12:42give me, but it gets me in the right headspace to create what I
- 12:45want to create. I think there is a place for AII
- 12:50think it is a tool, not a replacement.
- 12:54A tool that can be used to help get the brain flowing in the
- 13:00direction you want or do something repetitive that
- 13:03doesn't need to be done by an individual.
- 13:05It should never replace art, should never replace music,
- 13:08should never replace a a person. Right, because games are at the
- 13:14end of the day, even the games that feel heartless, they are
- 13:17still a labor of love right? Like the developers are not the
- 13:20ones that are making games fucking terrible for you.
- 13:23It's usually executives that are making that call, but executives
- 13:28in the same vein are the ones that are wanting to use AI
- 13:30because they can cut jobs and increase their profit margin.
- 13:34In the the grand scheme of things.
- 13:37I think if approached properly, which it will not be if
- 13:44approached properly by, you know, a studio like Larian,
- 13:48right? Using it for dream boarding.
- 13:50I think it is a good tool. I don't think it is any
- 13:54different than using something as like Excel or fucking Word
- 13:59right? It is a tool.
- 14:01It should not be the end all be all.
- 14:03It should not be what you were completely making your game
- 14:05based on. It should not create the art
- 14:08that the end user is going to see, nor should the people that
- 14:13are creating the art utilize too many functions of it right?
- 14:18They should use it as just something, hey this is put you
- 14:21in the right headspace of what you want.
- 14:23Hey, I'm having a hard time picturing this.
- 14:26It's a good way to go through a lot of sources in a quick manner
- 14:30without having to endlessly Google and waste time right?
- 14:34But that being said, anytime you defend AI in any capacity it
- 14:38gets a lot of pushback, which I fully I agree with right?
- 14:41Like I'm not a big fan of AI I but I don't think that if used
- 14:47properly, it is a hindrance to what is happening in the gaming
- 14:50industry. Like when Larian came out and
- 14:53was like, hey, we do use it in the this dream board phase.
- 14:58We have 23 concept artists out of like 86 artists that are are
- 15:04employed by them and they want to hire more.
- 15:07They already are placing their. 24 more, 24 more concept
- 15:11artists. So nearly like 4748 total
- 15:14artists. Nearly 50 artists more.
- 15:16Yeah, and don't get me wrong, there's tons of games on Steam
- 15:19that release every week that are are this AI slop right.
- 15:22Oh yes, just completely generated all of the arts,
- 15:26fucking randomly generated shit from the Internet and it should
- 15:31not exist. And we have reached the point
- 15:33where now Steam has put an AI tag on there.
- 15:37We had to deal with Epic, Tim Sweeney not too long ago being
- 15:41like, listen I everything's going to be made by AI
- 15:44eventually. And everyone hated that.
- 15:46Shocker, Yeah. And he's.
- 15:48A scumbag and fucking yeah. But I think Steam was doing the
- 15:53right thing by being like hey it uses AI and it's up to the
- 15:56developer to explain what they use AI for.
- 16:00Which I think is good right? If if a developer can make a
- 16:03good case for what they are using AI for, The people who are
- 16:07getting butthurt about AI being used, like read the fucking
- 16:10description. There was a game not too long
- 16:12ago. I'm drawing a blank on what it
- 16:13was. I think it might have been that
- 16:14Metal Eden game we played. They used some AI for something
- 16:19in the game and they got completely just bombarded.
- 16:24Yeah. It was like these terrible
- 16:26reviews and this and that. And they're like, listen,
- 16:28motherfuckers. Like they even responded to a
- 16:31couple comments. They were very professional
- 16:33about it. They're like, we used AI for
- 16:35this exact purpose. This is the only thing it is
- 16:37used for and it was like a non consequential like no big deal.
- 16:42But they people are just blowing them up.
- 16:44And it's like, that's not, that's not OK either, right?
- 16:47You don't, you don't go after people for using Photoshop.
- 16:50You don't go after people for doing, you know, any sort of
- 16:53editing to their things. Like why is it OK to attack a
- 16:58small indie dev over using AI for something that doesn't even
- 17:02affect the end product? Like you wouldn't even know it
- 17:05was there if that tag wasn't there.
- 17:07That is where it's not OK anytime you see, I also like, I
- 17:13follow a lot of art pages on like Reddit and things like
- 17:16that. So you get every time somebody
- 17:18posts artwork, this looks like AI slop.
- 17:20It's like, no, it's not everything is AI slop.
- 17:24And all of the comments just are, that's all it is, is people
- 17:28arguing whether it's AI or not. And they're like, well, if you
- 17:32look at this and it's like, no, they just didn't use lighting,
- 17:35right? Like, it happens, Yeah.
- 17:37Lighting's notoriously hard in art, right?
- 17:41They don't have 6 fingers and three balls.
- 17:43Like, what are we doing here? It it's, it's not a big deal,
- 17:46Like, but everything call back. Yeah, right.
- 17:51Go go listen to Rule for Deception.
- 17:53Yeah, 9 toes, 3 balls. But yeah, I just, I, I hate how
- 17:58artists in this day and age are just getting completely tore
- 18:01apart, getting accused of AI when it's not AI, right?
- 18:05Not everything is AI, but that's the world we live in now where
- 18:08there is so much AI shit out there that everybody's getting
- 18:12completely bombarded with these fucking comments of being like,
- 18:15yeah, AI slop, blah, blah blah, blah, blah.
- 18:18But in the same token, I hate that there's a lot of tattoo
- 18:20artists out there that are using nothing but AI and, and
- 18:23tattooing AAI fucking bullshit on people.
- 18:26Right? Like that's not good either.
- 18:28I it, it's a hard conversation to have because there is a place
- 18:34for it. I I all of these companies that
- 18:37are investing heavily into it and driving the prices of GP, US
- 18:41and RAM up can suck my fucking Dick from the back and I hope it
- 18:45all implodes on them and they lose a fuck load of money
- 18:48because that's fucking horseshit.
- 18:50Like the consumer should not be paying for your bullshit.
- 18:54RAM should not be 500 fucking dollars that's insane.
- 18:58For a fucking 32 gig kit that you know.
- 19:02Like and not even that fast of a speed.
- 19:04Yeah, you know, fucking 3200 megahertz, OK, Like, yeah, what
- 19:08are we doing here? Yeah.
- 19:09Yeah, exactly. It's like, why even build a
- 19:11computer other why build your own?
- 19:13Just buy a prebuilt because they're going to have to eat the
- 19:15cost on it. That's so like.
- 19:16If they don't mark their shut up way more anyways.
- 19:19I mean, Micro Center had their three deals like their three,
- 19:23you know, their their motherboard RAM and CPU kits
- 19:25come out again for combos. And I was surprised that some of
- 19:28them being like 6-7 hundred 800 bucks and I'm like there's 32
- 19:32gigs of RAM in there. Like how you doing that?
- 19:34What a steal, Yeah. And it wasn't by this, it was
- 19:37Zelda Ram. It was like your. 56000 And I
- 19:40was like, OK, And it was like $672 for the three, all three
- 19:44parts. And I was like, it's like, all
- 19:46right, So what are you doing? I have a 64 gig kit in my closet
- 19:50right now of DDR5 like 6. You a rich bitch then?
- 19:53Yeah, really. I don't.
- 19:54I don't like flexing it often. I'm just letting you guys God.
- 19:57Damn, when? I got you all right.
- 19:58Statements like Nick. Slapped that bad boy on the
- 20:00table. It's like I got 64 gigs of ram
- 20:03I'm not even using. These.
- 20:05Are my eddies. Eddies are actually just sticks
- 20:08of RAM, if you didn't know. Yeah.
- 20:11But yeah, I mean that that's my whole sentiment is I think it
- 20:15has a place, but it has gotten out of control and so many
- 20:17companies are using it poorly and making it bad for everyone
- 20:21else. And also fuck you guys for
- 20:23driving up the price of RAM. I'm glad I built my emulator PC
- 20:27last earlier this year before everything went up.
- 20:30Before this, cat had yeah. I'm so glad I don't have to
- 20:34upgrade for a while yet because. Everyone's pat.
- 20:36They're running Pat. They're just like, don't break
- 20:39down, don't break down. I just put more RAM in in my
- 20:42son's PC too like earlier this year.
- 20:44I like completely lucked out on all of this.
- 20:47I was like holy shit. Oh my God, Alex has my DDR5 ram.
- 20:51You don't even have it in, Alex has.
- 20:53These rich now he's. Rich to jump into the proverbial
- 20:59firing squad now or jump in front of it.
- 21:02I largely agree with pretty. I actually pretty much agree
- 21:04with everything you said. I don't think there's a single
- 21:06thing I disagree with. I agree in the sense that AI
- 21:09should be used as a tool. I don't think it should ever be
- 21:11a replacement. Absolutely.
- 21:14Like you said, you know, music, arts, movies, TV shows, all of
- 21:19those things at the end of the day should be made by humans.
- 21:23And I think that's a very important distinction.
- 21:27Part of this is a very important distinction is that they're
- 21:29talking about, they're at the stage where, like you said, and
- 21:32I will be completely honest, not only have all three of us at one
- 21:40point or another used AI related to D and DI.
- 21:42Remember when we were doing like we were in the really heavy
- 21:45phase of that a couple years ago and it was John, both of you
- 21:51guys, myself, we were all using AI and.
- 21:53Some sort of to? Flesh out we either mid journey
- 21:56to flesh out the idea of what we were looking for or we were
- 21:59using ChatGPT to sort of spruce some things up and give some
- 22:02things a bit more flare or pop. I specifically use that a little
- 22:05bit and that's coming from someone who enjoys writing like,
- 22:09but like I don't I'm not that great of a creative writer.
- 22:12I can get the basic ideas down and I can filter, I can, I can
- 22:16fill in a bit more than that. But I, if I say particularly
- 22:21don't have the time to spend, you know, for a couple hours a
- 22:25night, you know, trying to really get in the headspace of
- 22:27a, of a fictional character and stuff like that.
- 22:29And instead I can go, OK, I have the basic understanding of what
- 22:33I want. I'll write out this whole Word
- 22:35document myself and then I'm going to feed it into chat GP
- 22:37and say, really don't change anything.
- 22:39Just make it sound more poppy, creative, whatever.
- 22:43And then I read through that and I proofread it myself.
- 22:47And then after I make my changes, then I send it to my DM
- 22:51and go, here's my back story. Or I, I create, you know, that I
- 22:56have mid journey, go show me a couple like of different ideas
- 22:58of like a person that looks like this wearing this sort of armor.
- 23:01It's in this sort of sci-fi universe.
- 23:03OK, this is sort of the idea. Now I'm going to create
- 23:05something on my own, then show it to somebody, you know, and
- 23:08that's exactly what I think Larian did and is doing is it's,
- 23:12and they've been a very, I think that like at least one has been
- 23:15very honest about that. It seems in that he's very much
- 23:19like we use it for, you know, PowerPoint presentations, which
- 23:22is like, as far as I'm concerned, I couldn't care less.
- 23:259 times out of 10 the concept art is not what actually goes
- 23:28into the game anyway, right? Like right, you look at concept
- 23:31art for cyber, look at dispatch, it looks entirely different.
- 23:34Or dispatch. Or you can read or you can see
- 23:37the concept art for dispatch in the game.
- 23:39And then you can go and look at blonde blazer in the game and
- 23:42go, oh, that's like you can see how they took certain pieces,
- 23:45but it's not all one of the original concept arts.
- 23:48It's an amalgamation of it, which is kind of what it's used
- 23:51for. And in my opinion, if it's,
- 23:55that's a big part of this for me is that a lot of people are
- 23:58saying a lot of things without even knowing what tools they're
- 24:02using. Yeah.
- 24:03Like nobody knows what engine they're using, nobody knows what
- 24:07type of machine learning software they're using if it's
- 24:10built into their tool set, tool set that they currently use.
- 24:13Like I'm sorry, I just, I flat out don't believe that Larian is
- 24:17just like has a tab open for ChatGPT or Sora and they're just
- 24:21like typing in like make me a cool like fantasy lizard having
- 24:27sex with like a human. And then they put that in the
- 24:29trailer they showed at the channel.
- 24:30I don't think that's what happened.
- 24:32Absolutely not. And nobody who played Boulder's
- 24:35Gate 3 could honestly be like, yeah, this is AI.
- 24:38There's no, not a single fucking bit of that I believe would be
- 24:43AI. Like there's too much heart,
- 24:45there's too much soul, there's too much passion behind that
- 24:47project. And I, I, I don't expect there
- 24:50to be any change in divinity, right?
- 24:52Like I think it's going to be the same and it's.
- 24:55I think it's going to be more right.
- 24:57This is their baby, this is, this is their idea.
- 25:00This is this is, you know, so that's another incentive to
- 25:03this, which is I, I think important.
- 25:05Like I think it's important to take the sum of everything that
- 25:08we've learned over the past couple weeks and then apply it
- 25:10to like today, which was that whole statue that was the TS
- 25:15that ended up being divinity, specifically one of the
- 25:18developers crown. Well, I think he's one of the
- 25:21other big devs from Larian on Twitter.
- 25:23And his big thing from that statue that he talked about was
- 25:27that it was very important for us to build this physically and,
- 25:32and, and have it be such high quality and take some
- 25:36interesting photos with it and sort of, you know, tease
- 25:38everybody 1st and then you guys sort of discover what it was.
- 25:41But it's about it being a physical thing in real life.
- 25:44It's not a generated image. He's specifically, I think, says
- 25:47it's not AI. It's not.
- 25:49And he said people when it first was shown off when, when
- 25:52specifically, like Nick, you pointed out like the alligator
- 25:55on the side of the crocodile or whatever, you know, like all
- 25:57these other things. And you're like, well, that's
- 25:58not, you know, this franchise or that front, you know, that
- 26:01doesn't exist. And they're like, you know,
- 26:04people were saying, well, it must be AI.
- 26:06And it's like, this was a point to prove that it's not in that
- 26:09it's a physical thing that we had artists do.
- 26:12And then that happens, The game awards happen.
- 26:16And then where, By the way, Arc Raiders, a game that has been
- 26:19very open about its Gen. AI usage and create and part in
- 26:23its creative process. I will take that back a little
- 26:25bit. They've admitted that they use
- 26:27it. I would like to see exactly how
- 26:28it works or how they do it before I make a final judgement.
- 26:34But in that instance, it's like I just take it from like I said
- 26:38this to Nick the other day, which was you don't What annoys
- 26:41me about like, and I saw a lot of this on Twitter was like, oh,
- 26:44this is like goodwill losing simulator, you know, speed run
- 26:50things like that. And it's like, so let me get
- 26:51this straight. The game comes out in what,
- 26:532022-2023 Ballersgate 3? And then you have two years of
- 26:58have excellent post launch support.
- 27:00You also had what, a year of early access I think?
- 27:04I don't remember. How many years?
- 27:05Ago or something like that? So you have a year of early
- 27:07access where the community helps guide the development so the
- 27:10game becomes even better. The game comes out, sells
- 27:14gangbusters more than they expected, wins a whole bunch of
- 27:17game awards and a whole bunch of other awards.
- 27:19And then they have an excellent two years of post launch content
- 27:22where they give us an in game bod manager and improvements to
- 27:26a whole bunch of quests and processes and things like that.
- 27:29A way to customize your character in game that wasn't
- 27:32there before. And they also give each class
- 27:34another subclass. And then they go, OK, now we're
- 27:36moving on to the next thing. All this goodwill's earned up.
- 27:39They have one interview where spend says, yeah, we use AI at
- 27:42the beginning to generate some like it's like to explore ideas.
- 27:46And then apparently all of that's lost.
- 27:49Come on. Give it a week and that'll be
- 27:52completely gone. Like I mean.
- 27:54Listen, people are going to forget about.
- 27:56It I love cyberpunk in the state it currently is in, but when
- 28:01that launched it was a fucking shit show.
- 28:02I bring this up all the time because everybody now is like
- 28:06just fucking brothing at the mouth for anything from CD
- 28:10Project Red. Cyberpunk is also now like what
- 28:13Crisis was when it dropped. It's like, can your computer run
- 28:16Cyberpunk, right? You know, it's like, so we're
- 28:18using that as we're using that as the template now for if your
- 28:22computer is worthy. But when it first dropped,
- 28:25everybody using that template, it didn't matter.
- 28:27Wasn't shy about saying everybody it's never going to be
- 28:30good. I'll never like this.
- 28:31And those people are like, oh, what are you talking?
- 28:32I never said, yeah, I guess you fucking did.
- 28:35This could be the same thing in a couple weeks to a couple years
- 28:37for this. Save those tweets from the.
- 28:40My main point with that though is look at how everybody is
- 28:44super excited about the next fucking CD project red thing and
- 28:48they completely already forgot about a God awful fucking launch
- 28:52that lasted years before it was finally to the state that it was
- 28:56due again. And the same thing happened with
- 28:58the Witcher 3 and they forgot about it then.
- 29:01And two, like all of these things that get blown up in, in
- 29:05the gaming sphere, and obviously we are closer than a lot of
- 29:09people are because we do this, right?
- 29:12Yeah, we do. So we hear all of this, we hear
- 29:14all the bullshit. We hear all the fucking this and
- 29:16that and the, the, the problem of the week.
- 29:19And then the next week they're like, Oh my God, Larian.
- 29:22Oh, after the week before they left shitty comments all over
- 29:25everything Larian did because they said they use AI to fucking
- 29:29dream board something like what are we doing here?
- 29:31Right? I it it's so predictable at this
- 29:35point that somebody's going to get mad about something and the
- 29:38next thing comes out and they fucking just.
- 29:41And I have a particular bone to pick because I unfortunately it
- 29:45might OK, I'll say this. My, my algorithm on Twitter is
- 29:48very much tailored to who I am as a person.
- 29:50I feel it's pretty, it gets a lot of things right.
- 29:53And I see a lot of artists that I'm seeing both takes on my feed
- 29:57right now, which is I'm seeing a lot of artists and a lot of
- 30:00people who also have worked in gaming comment back to Larian
- 30:04and they have good takes or not good takes or bad takes because
- 30:06that's obviously subjected to me.
- 30:08But they've had either pro Larian takes or like anti Larian
- 30:11takes on this. However you want to read that as
- 30:13you know, or like anti AI, pro AI, whatever.
- 30:15And a lot of the thing that I have an issue with is that when
- 30:21I'm reading the people who are sort of like, one of the big
- 30:25things I took away that I didn't think about, which I was
- 30:28thankful to learn from a lot of these sorts of responses was
- 30:31that. So again, same company that
- 30:35earned all this goodwill was also honest in this interview
- 30:39and was like, this is what we use it for.
- 30:42And Swen had to say those comments, issue a statement to
- 30:47IGN and then tweet something out himself.
- 30:51And then after he tweeted that thing out, which has gotten I
- 30:54think the last time I looked it was like around 52,000 likes or
- 30:57whatever. So it's pretty good compared to
- 30:59especially to a lot of the replies in terms of just like
- 31:01what he said. And I thought it was pretty well
- 31:03worded myself. All of the comments are still,
- 31:08but you're not getting it. And it's like, so do you think
- 31:11that? OK, so this is a studio that by
- 31:14and large the community, the public has loved, as well as
- 31:18developers both working with them and outside, like from the
- 31:21outside going, wow, you guys are like a great, you guys run a
- 31:24great ship. And the game that came out was,
- 31:26guess what? It wasn't Cyberpunk.
- 31:28It wasn't plagued with tons of bucks.
- 31:30It ran very good. It ran on older hardware.
- 31:33It was a fun game and they had all that goodwill.
- 31:38And for being honest, he got a shitstorm.
- 31:42Do you think that that encourages any other developer
- 31:44to ever be honest again? Do you think like and, and let's
- 31:48be honest. We already knew that Infinity
- 31:51Ward Activision, whoever made the pre the Black Ops 7 just now
- 31:53Treyarch, they use Gen. AI for making a bunch of their
- 31:56calling cards. We know that.
- 31:57We know that Arc Raiders, which just won Multiplayer Game Award
- 32:01Best Multiplayer Game award, uses Gen.
- 32:04AI at some point in its process. Better bring up Expedition 33 as
- 32:07well. Expedition 33 did admit that
- 32:09they also used Gen. AI, which I again like.
- 32:11People completely forgot about people completely.
- 32:14I didn't. I didn't even know that until
- 32:15after they just swept every single category they were
- 32:18nominated for. And that doesn't mean I think
- 32:21they deserve to lose them. I just didn't know that.
- 32:24Also studio of like fucking what 40 people or something like.
- 32:28That, and that's the thing, is that you know what, Not once at
- 32:31any point when I have played the game did I ever think that
- 32:34anything I saw was made with AI at all.
- 32:37No, it was. It all felt from the heart.
- 32:39Absolutely. I'm sure they did similar to
- 32:41what Larian does right? I think that is I, I know I
- 32:45already said it, but I think that's the perfect fucking use
- 32:48for it because it is taking things from the Internet and
- 32:51combining them and then you run with that to create your own
- 32:55thing. And we, we live in a world where
- 32:57we are remaking movies year after year.
- 32:59We are remaking television shows.
- 33:01There's there's very few ideas that have not been done at this
- 33:05point. Let's be entirely honest, there
- 33:07are very few original ideas anymore, right?
- 33:11And I don't say that as a, as a go steal someone else's idea,
- 33:15but you are going to take inspirations from what you know.
- 33:18You are going to be inspired by the art that you consume, and in
- 33:23this way they are taking things. They're taking instead of going
- 33:27to a singular post and being like, OK, so this is what they
- 33:30did. I'm going to do that.
- 33:31They are taking an amalgamation of things and then
- 33:34springboarding off of that to create something new.
- 33:37Also, what's in their? Head.
- 33:38Oh, sorry, I thought you well, Yeah, yeah.
- 33:40I thought you meant talking about the people who complain
- 33:42about it, because that's what I'm sorry, right, I'm misread.
- 33:45But like, for me, I am someone who goes through writer's block
- 33:48a lot. I, I, I have these little
- 33:53moments of creativity and these little moments of like, oh, I
- 33:57know exactly what I want to do. And then in where I'm prepping
- 34:00for the next DND session, I'm like, fuck.
- 34:03And so the, the, the last session, you both were in it.
- 34:08Yeah, I I was struggling, like really, really struggling to put
- 34:13something together. I knew the general idea of what
- 34:16I wanted to do, but I didn't know exactly how I wanted to
- 34:19piece it together. I used ChatGPT.
- 34:22I go, hey, this is my idea, This is what I want to do.
- 34:25It spit out some things. I didn't use a single fucking
- 34:27thing from it, but it got my brain moving in the direction I
- 34:31wanted to it. I didn't like literally took
- 34:34nothing from the the prompt it gave me and I go perfect, I've
- 34:39got the idea now and then I was able to create my own thing.
- 34:42Just because they're using the generative AI doesn't mean that
- 34:45they are actually stealing those ideas, right?
- 34:48Like that's where we it's hard to know, especially in this day
- 34:53and age where again, most ideas are no longer original, but at
- 34:58the same time utilizing a tool that is at your disposal and is
- 35:04something that almost all of corporate everywhere is using at
- 35:10this point in some some capacity.
- 35:13Because and that is that I fucking there's college kids
- 35:18that are getting through college by utilizing chat GPTI don't
- 35:21think that's right. I don't agree with that.
- 35:24As someone who just went back to school and finished their
- 35:27master's degree, I would never have used ChatGPT to fucking
- 35:31write me a paper. But.
- 35:33To those kids, y'all. Suck.
- 35:34I'm just saying you guys suck, but I think I, it's, it's tough,
- 35:41right? Because where do you draw the
- 35:42line? Where do you actually put the
- 35:44the line in the sand of don't cross this?
- 35:46If you use it for this, it's fine.
- 35:48And also what company is going to come out and be honest about
- 35:51that? Like you said earlier, nobody's
- 35:53going to even want to admit there's utilizing it at this
- 35:56point except for the people who are, you know, they're trying to
- 35:59get shareholders. And that's the other part of it.
- 36:01They're like, yeah, we can do it cheaper now.
- 36:03And shareholder is like Oh my God.
- 36:04And that's another. Say more.
- 36:06Don't stop. That's another very important
- 36:08thing is that Larian is owned by Swen.
- 36:12It is, it is privately owned, privately owned company.
- 36:14So, so here's the crazy thing is that he doesn't answer to a
- 36:19board or a group of shareholders that tell him you have to use
- 36:23Gen. AI.
- 36:24He wants to explore himself. And like, I'm not saying the
- 36:27dude's completely right on everything.
- 36:28He might be wrong. He might.
- 36:29And then like if there's a lot of pushback in his studio,
- 36:31that's that. But that's where I have that,
- 36:33that sort of trust is that if you've got all your say, he
- 36:38hires all these concept artists, there's 47 concept artists and
- 36:41they all kind of say, you know what, we don't even want to use
- 36:43these tools. I think we got it on our own.
- 36:45And he goes, OK, then don't use them, then who gives a shit?
- 36:49Then who cares? Like, OK, so it was available to
- 36:51him and they didn't use it. And hey, guess what?
- 36:53Say there was one artist that did decide to use it and, and,
- 36:56and same thing. Like that's The thing is that
- 37:00you know, I have also, I also have some bad bouts of writer's
- 37:05block from time to time specifically, but when I'm
- 37:08creating creative things like AD and D character, I'm very good
- 37:12at writing essays To double back to something real quick to all
- 37:15those college kids that are using chachi PT to write your
- 37:17fucking essays, you need to grow.
- 37:18You need to grow the fuck up. OK, you're gonna get into the
- 37:21workforce and realize you don't know actually know what you're
- 37:24doing, and it's not gonna be. Getting dude, yeah, no, you
- 37:27absolutely need to learn how to, you need to learn how to write
- 37:30that report at like 5:00 PM when it's due at 8:00 PM the same
- 37:35night. Like you have to learn how to do
- 37:37things. That's the last.
- 37:37Otherwise you'll never learn. And I know that from experience
- 37:40because I never did a single one of my essays in college before
- 37:43the day it was due. Every single time I did an
- 37:45essay, it was the day it was due and I got I got A's every time.
- 37:50So it works out. But to go back to that sort of
- 37:54situation, like I I don't have a problem with that.
- 37:57One of the specific examples I like that somebody had mentioned
- 38:00and this spoke to me personally because I'm more of I'm a better
- 38:03writer than I will ever be an artist than anything.
- 38:06I can't draw, can't paint, can't do anything like that.
- 38:08I'm just terrible at it. But I can write pretty well.
- 38:11And I like the idea of being able to write something out and
- 38:17say, Brody, you're the you're the artist.
- 38:19And I need to show I want to write this thing out because I
- 38:22had there's this sort of, you know, side quests we're doing
- 38:25for Divinity. And it involves a lot of body
- 38:27horror. And I know how to write that,
- 38:28but I don't know how to envision that.
- 38:30So I use this, you know, tool that we both have.
- 38:33And I say, like, you know, here's what I put in.
- 38:36Could you show me like some vague image of this?
- 38:39And then I send it over to you and you go, oh, I get it.
- 38:42And I'm like, yeah, can you kind of create something like that?
- 38:44But like, don't use this part of it.
- 38:46And like, I don't think this really fits the vibe, but like,
- 38:48you get what I'm saying. And you go, OK, yeah.
- 38:50And then you write something or you Draw Something completely
- 38:52different. And I go, that's perfect.
- 38:54This is exactly what, because you can inherently now
- 38:56understand my writing better because you've seen the image
- 39:00sort of vaguely. And that's what I think it's
- 39:03useful for. It sort of bridges that gap.
- 39:05Whereas before, what would I have to do?
- 39:08OK, well, I'll write this out. I'll give it to you, Brody.
- 39:11Brody, can you write a bunch of concept art for this?
- 39:13Concept art for this one thing we might not even use OK, now
- 39:16you spend a week doing all that and we end up not using it.
- 39:18Now you've lost a week and or you've lost a couple days and
- 39:22that's what turns games that take four to five years into 10
- 39:25years. You know, it's the mundane, like
- 39:28you said earlier, it's the mundane processes, the things
- 39:31that are like just busy work that you could shorten.
- 39:34And that's perfectly fine to me is, you know, but that's The
- 39:38thing is that if it comes out, if divinity comes out and it's
- 39:41like, well, this is clearly just ChatGPT nonsense, then it speaks
- 39:45for itself. But I don't think it'll feel
- 39:47that way because like you said, I'm sure, I'm sure they used
- 39:50some sort of very early version of Gen.
- 39:53AI or procedural AI at the very beginning of storyboarding or
- 39:57mood boarding. Balders Gate 3 you know, And yet
- 40:00I could not tell you where it bleeds through.
- 40:04What also surprises me is generative AI is essentially
- 40:09procedurally generated content, which so many people's favorite
- 40:14rogue lights and all of their entire history of gaming has
- 40:19been using and we just turned a blind eye to that.
- 40:22That's not the same thing. No, it's the same fucking thing.
- 40:24It's a different name. They they captured A keyword
- 40:27that looks real fucking good to investors and everyone else.
- 40:30It's the same fucking thing to some extent, right?
- 40:32Like, not not every AAI process is the same, but the
- 40:37procedurally generated content is utilizing very similar
- 40:42technology to do the exact same thing.
- 40:44And nobody's ever said shit about that in games.
- 40:48Like I yeah, there was some comments here and there and
- 40:50there was a lot of bad games that came out utilizing that
- 40:53tech, but for the most part you play a game like fucking.
- 41:00Risk of rain. Risk of rain or Yeah, like any
- 41:04of these roguelikes that people love. 80s. 80s yeah, yeah, I
- 41:10guarantee they use some form of a generative AI or a
- 41:15procedurally generated process where they have so many
- 41:18different rules and so many different rooms and things that
- 41:22happen in these rooms and they go here, spit this out randomly
- 41:26like that It it's a similar process.
- 41:28You don't want to fine tune all of that, right?
- 41:31Like it's just one of those things that people get so butt
- 41:36hurt because they utilize the word AI now.
- 41:39And because it has been that that hit word that every company
- 41:43is utilizing be like, we're using AI to improve our
- 41:46processes and fuck over our customers.
- 41:48And they're like, yeah, cool, thanks.
- 41:50Awesome, love that. Thank you.
- 41:53Can I have another please? Can I, can I point out this is
- 41:56all I this is one of the only other things I can say about
- 41:59this because I just realized the irony in it.
- 42:02As we were talking, I said, if you read, there's a different
- 42:07and I'm, I'm crazy. So maybe this is just something
- 42:10I did. But like I I've somehow managed
- 42:13to find a German article with a German newspaper with Swen which
- 42:17was I think they were speaking in.
- 42:20Or maybe it wasn't a German newspaper.
- 42:23I don't remember where it was from, but it was it was.
- 42:24Swedish. It it yeah, it may have been it
- 42:29may have been Swedish, I don't remember, but it was it was auto
- 42:32translated. So I was just reading it and
- 42:37Swen specifically talks about how the cinematic trailer that
- 42:40we all saw and we're like, Oh my God, it's equally beautiful and
- 42:44terrifyingly horrible at the same time.
- 42:48He specifically says how that is directly an inspiration from the
- 42:52movie The Wicker Man, and yet there has not been a single
- 42:56complaint about that because it was created.
- 43:00OK, so let me get if I followed their, if I followed this sort
- 43:02of path correctly, it's because that movie was created by a
- 43:05person. It wasn't created by a computer,
- 43:09but Larian still took the inspiration from a human created
- 43:12product and made their own sort of thing, or even almost
- 43:15egregiously worse, directly copied it and just said we're
- 43:18gonna do the same exact thing according to this sort of
- 43:21standard that is set, I guess. And that's where I sort of lose
- 43:27the plot, so to speak, because every time I see these arguments
- 43:32on Twitter, I can't understand it Because no matter how many
- 43:37good points people have that come back and say like, well, if
- 43:40you've worked in a job like this or if you've had a sort of
- 43:44experience like this at a major company, you know, they can
- 43:47range from anything from they're forcing you to use the tool to
- 43:50it's just a suggestion to rather it's only used at this one point
- 43:54in the process. It's not something you can just
- 43:55use all the time. And it could also be something
- 43:57where it that that work is also potentially believe they're not
- 44:01checked. Hey, I looked at this, you know,
- 44:05concept art you created. It's a little too similar to all
- 44:08this other shit that is like clearly not from you, You know,
- 44:12like that's the other thing is I I don't think that Larian's just
- 44:15letting anybody show up and just create, you know, hey, ChatGPT
- 44:19me, this cool Ranger looking character for divinity that we
- 44:22can show as an origin character. And it just comes up something
- 44:25like, I don't think that's happening and I don't think that
- 44:27they're using it as a crutch. I think it's like you said, it's
- 44:30a tool and that's perfectly fine to me as long as, again, like
- 44:34you said, you're not cutting your employees just to use this
- 44:39thing in place of it. That's very important.
- 44:41Nick, please speak. You have not spoken and I can
- 44:43see you fidgeting in. Your chair 44 minutes in.
- 44:46I know there's plenty of room in the firing range here, my guy.
- 44:49Y'all, y'all were going on. AI should never, can never, and
- 44:53will never replace a human's work on anything.
- 44:58It is simply not. It's not feasible.
- 45:01It's not because once a computer not like what we're gaming on,
- 45:05recording on, or what they're creating, this media, this art
- 45:09form, video games are art, so you have to treat it as art.
- 45:15A computer AI cannot replace human emotion, cannot put to the
- 45:21screen what we saw in the Divinity trailer.
- 45:24It just simply cannot convey that type of emotion.
- 45:26You could try, you know it's bullshit.
- 45:30It's not made with human hands. With that being said, what
- 45:36Larian is specifically talking about is not getting rid of even
- 45:41the concept and storyboarding. This is.
- 45:44We need an idea. You know what?
- 45:46Ask the fucking computer really quick.
- 45:49I want to see lizard man, big axe and it.
- 45:53Spits out where I thought you were going.
- 45:55No, no. After that trailer I'm like oh
- 45:58shit, they. Got a lot of ways, yeah.
- 46:00Yeah, but like, it's, but they're just going, oh, OK, I
- 46:04see that. All right, throw that away, draw
- 46:06that. But you draw how you want it,
- 46:09right? They're not taking that and
- 46:11replacing a concept artist 'cause once they do that, then I
- 46:15have a problem. If you're telling me now you
- 46:16don't have a concept artist because AI replaced it, now I
- 46:19have a problem with your product.
- 46:21I will not support your product at that point.
- 46:23The minute AI replaces a human is where the line is drawn.
- 46:28Yeah, if it's used as a tool, you need to think of it as if
- 46:32you have access to a fucking air ratchet.
- 46:36Would you use the air ratchet or are you going to use the regular
- 46:39old fucking ratchet, right? What are you going to use here?
- 46:43Right. I'm not saying this should
- 46:45replace all mundane tasks. We need people to check back end
- 46:48code. We need people to do the fucking
- 46:51stupid fucking mundane. Tasks.
- 46:53Yeah, Microsoft. We bullshit, but if we can
- 46:59mitigate some of those things without replacing humans and
- 47:03keeping that human touch that is very essential to art itself in
- 47:08the product that we as the consumer want to see and love,
- 47:13then fine. But if we cannot define the
- 47:16lines, and if companies are going to abuse these lines and
- 47:20continually step and step and step, Larian is not a company, I
- 47:23think we'll do this. Activision is what we saw it is.
- 47:28They didn't care. It was immediate.
- 47:30You could tell right away. Sorry, Nick, but you like it was
- 47:32right away. Those those calling cards, you
- 47:34could tell they were AI generated.
- 47:36It's like, you know, like there's they weren't even trying
- 47:38to fight it. Go ahead, Sorry.
- 47:41But though the we won't know those lines until we see how
- 47:47many companies start stepping on them and blurring the lines and
- 47:51then going, well, what are you mad at us for?
- 47:53A human still made it, right. But in the process of this one
- 47:57human making it, you deleted 32 other humans that were on that
- 48:00one human's team and replaced him.
- 48:02Now his team is AI. Yeah, that is my issue.
- 48:06We don't know where this is going to end up.
- 48:08Do I think it should be used in the way that Larian's using it?
- 48:11Yeah, I do. No, this is not ending up in
- 48:14your game. Let's get that straight.
- 48:16What is happening in the dream board phase is looked at for
- 48:21maybe a day or two and then go OK, anyways, so Larry, why don't
- 48:26what did you draw up? Oh fuck that thing.
- 48:28Larry Larian. Larry Larian.
- 48:31Larry Larian. Larry Larian.
- 48:32Larry Larian. Oh, the original.
- 48:34That is the distinct difference between what Larian has done and
- 48:38what Activision has done, what Larian has done and what the
- 48:41devs between Arc Raiders is doing.
- 48:44Because we don't exactly know how they're using AI.
- 48:47We don't know what they're doing in their game.
- 48:49I like the game. We don't know.
- 48:51Larian's very honest right here, so.
- 48:54And that's the biggest, the, the saddest part about this is that
- 48:59this you will never know from another studio again because
- 49:04there's zero incentive because they're going to, there's
- 49:06clearly no incentive to tell the truth because this is what we
- 49:09get. This is what or not what we get.
- 49:10But this is what Larian gets. Larian gets Swen comes out and
- 49:14he's honest. He's even honest.
- 49:16Or I don't remember if it was his words or I think it was
- 49:19Gamespots words. I don't remember who is original
- 49:22interview was with or Bloomberg. It was Bloomberg, sorry, where
- 49:27their words are like, you know, there have been there's been I
- 49:30think he even admits to there being some some pushback at
- 49:33Larian, but largely people that like Swen says largely people
- 49:36like have gotten used to it or whatever.
- 49:39And and people run with that and they go like, oh, so they're
- 49:41being held against their will and being forced to use AI and
- 49:44like a human farm. And it's like, no, it's like
- 49:47it's just there. There were some complaints
- 49:49initially and people have gotten used to it, whether that means
- 49:53either if they decided to use it or they decided not to.
- 49:56And like, I also think that's the thing.
- 49:58I don't feel like Swen is going down to the the you know, the
- 50:02floor and saying, hey, you know, the, the the floor of every
- 50:06pretty, you know, all the graphic designers and going,
- 50:08Hey, I need you guys to put in a quote of at least 50, you know,
- 50:11searches on Chachi BT pro a month to make this worth it.
- 50:15Like it just it sounds absurd on its face.
- 50:19This doesn't. And Swen is a leader by and
- 50:21large. He's clearly shown that.
- 50:22I mean, you don't walk around a suit in a suit of armor like
- 50:25that, But like, I don't think he's a guy that's going to sit
- 50:30there and just force everybody to use a tool because he thinks
- 50:34he can make a quick buck on it. Because then what is the point
- 50:36of the past 30 years of your work if it all came down to just
- 50:42shortening it to using a tool? And I think that's what a lot of
- 50:45people are missing The point of is like, see the bigger picture.
- 50:47It is not about making some change back.
- 50:51It is I want I don't he's how old is he?
- 50:55He's like in his mid 50s. OK, I'm not sure.
- 51:00Yeah. So count it down.
- 51:01You know, how many games can he create?
- 51:04You know, how many games can he create that he has left?
- 51:06You know, how much time does he have left?
- 51:07How and, and that sort of thing. And I, he's not old, clearly.
- 51:10My dad's probably the same age or around the same age.
- 51:13And you have to consider that if a game on average nowadays
- 51:17without AI would take you 10 years, or you could make these
- 51:20sorts of games in five years, four years, if it could really
- 51:25cut down on efficiency and or cut up, you know, make
- 51:27efficiency that great, then I don't inherently see the
- 51:32problem. Again, as long as you're not
- 51:34replacing people. And I when I say people, I mean
- 51:36in every sense, voice actors, writers, musicians, engineers,
- 51:42programmers, all that sort of stuff, don't replace people.
- 51:44But you absolutely allow them to use this, this tool that can be
- 51:48used in all sorts of ways as a tool.
- 51:51You know that. That's my point.
- 51:53And if they're using it solely for references, like if they
- 51:57weren't using that, they're just going to be Googling, right?
- 52:00Like they're still going to be looking at other people's art to
- 52:03get an idea of what they want. They googled some strange thing
- 52:06of lizard man fucks some fucking chick and bizarre with Wicker
- 52:11Man in the background. Like Rule 34.
- 52:13Yeah, like they're still going to be using references, but they
- 52:17are references and that is the purpose of them, right?
- 52:22And we've also seen so many instances in the gaming
- 52:25industry. Bungie was one that came up not
- 52:28too terribly long ago where they used a reference and copied the
- 52:32same exact fucking it was. Just the same.
- 52:34Art stole someone's art, so would you rather have an
- 52:39amalgamation of references that then somebody takes and actually
- 52:43makes real art with or would you rather accompany just straight
- 52:47up steel fucking art? Like neither is entirely ideal
- 52:52right? But I in this specific use case,
- 52:58use AI. Fuck it.
- 53:00You were taking all of the work of tracking down all of these
- 53:03different references and resources, putting them into a
- 53:09general idea, and then doing your own thing.
- 53:11I there is 0 harm in that, zero fucking harm in that it hurts no
- 53:16one. It helps people, it helps people
- 53:19get creative and make the things they want to make and it also
- 53:23helps you get games in your fucking hand quicker.
- 53:26There is no reason games are so fucking hard to make.
- 53:29They are so complicated. There's so much that goes into
- 53:32it. It takes 10 years to develop
- 53:34games half the time from the from the initial like
- 53:38storyboarding and everything else, right or not even that the
- 53:42concept phase into, you know, the, the final product.
- 53:45It takes so long to make games. If this is a tool that helps
- 53:49them make it a little bit better without stealing people's art or
- 53:52completely utilizing AI art, I think it's perfectly acceptable
- 53:57and should be used. I but anything beyond that I
- 54:02think is where the line gets drawn.
- 54:03I think that is where that line in the sand is.
- 54:06If you're utilizing it for anything beyond that initial
- 54:08phase of creating an idea of what you want to do, that's
- 54:13where you're getting into the category of taking people's jobs
- 54:18or making just bullshit. Yeah.
- 54:23So, yeah, and you know, I mentioned earlier the tattoo
- 54:26artist, right? Like if you're having a complete
- 54:29brain block and you use AI to get an idea of something and
- 54:33then you create your own artwork from there.
- 54:35Like I don't think there's any harm in that either.
- 54:37But again, it has to be the concept phase.
- 54:40Outside of the concept phase is where it's a problem in my mind.
- 54:45Yeah, that and that's what I meant by my previous statement,
- 54:47right, of like if, if that allows you to cut down really a
- 54:50lot on the pre production side of things or like getting all
- 54:53those concepts together. And it's like that was a quick
- 54:57thing that I'll mention again, just to give a bit more context
- 55:01to this whole situation. In that same article, Swan
- 55:04talked about how they've been able to increase their
- 55:07efficiency just in their engine itself.
- 55:09So that way when they record motion capture, it's basically
- 55:12in the game, the engine, as soon as they're done recording.
- 55:16So it's like this was something that would take us a day before
- 55:19to do, and now it's in the game instantly.
- 55:20And like it sounded just from reading through the entire
- 55:23interviews, the two interviews that I've read, the one with
- 55:26Bloomberg and the one with the other publication that in the
- 55:33second article at least very much, it sounded like the sort
- 55:36of overall goal was to be able to get any sort of piece of work
- 55:40that you were working on, our voice lines, motion capture,
- 55:45anything like that into the game engine or whatever in under or
- 55:49within two hours. Like that was the whole sort of
- 55:52like almost the efficiency goal was like within two hours.
- 55:55And it's like, OK, so I, I get that.
- 55:57And it sounds like that's really like not where they're at at
- 56:00this point. Because I don't think at that
- 56:01point you need to really use a tool.
- 56:03You probably already got enough or like an AI tool at that
- 56:05point, you've, you've already got your own idea set in stone
- 56:09that it's really just about designing the pieces on it and
- 56:12all that sort of stuff and getting it into the engine and
- 56:14then going from there again. So it's like, but then again,
- 56:17I'm saying all of this from having no idea how any of it
- 56:19works. So like, I have no idea.
- 56:22And a lot of other people that are complaining don't either,
- 56:25just a lot of people in general. None of us know how this works
- 56:29for them, their process. I don't think unless you're in
- 56:33the industry itself with a team at a studio, you have any idea
- 56:39what is actually happening behind the scenes and you're
- 56:42just a couple assholes like Brody, Evan and myself on a show
- 56:46or amongst each other speak. For your fucking self.
- 56:49Just kidding. Talking with your friends, going
- 56:52well, AI good, AI bad. Exactly.
- 56:54At the end of the day, AI cannot replace a human to create the
- 56:58art that you one. 100% correct. And if it gets there, then we
- 57:03vote with our wallets. It shouldn't get there though
- 57:06and I understand the anger, frustration and outrage because
- 57:10my knee jerk reaction each time I see it is the same where I go,
- 57:16what the fuck do you mean? And then I have to research and
- 57:18once I research I go. I can delineate at that point
- 57:22good or bad, right Larry? And I was instantly able to see
- 57:25that and I went, this is literally nothing.
- 57:28This is no human was even remotely replaced, touched, or
- 57:33even seen here. Compare that, by the way, to the
- 57:37Coca-Cola ad, by the way, that just came out for Christmas that
- 57:40was entirely made by like a group of AI engineers.
- 57:44And they're like, we worked hours on this.
- 57:46And it's like, what do you mean you worked hours on it?
- 57:48You would have been. Better to hire artists and
- 57:50actually create a good. Right, exactly commercial,
- 57:53right. Come on, what are we doing?
- 57:55Let's at the end of it all, yeah, Art has a heartbeat, and
- 57:58that heartbeat is the human element.
- 58:01When you take the human element away, it's nothing.
- 58:04Gaming is an art medium. It's an art form, from the
- 58:07concept artists to the voice actors, to the coders, the
- 58:11developers, the play testers and the studio itself.
- 58:17AI could never replace that, and it will not.
- 58:20The problem is, again, it's the line in the sand.
- 58:23And where do the studios stand with that?
- 58:26And it's not just the studios, it's the executives.
- 58:29Because if you put the word AI on things right now, it is a
- 58:31buzzword. Put the word slop on things
- 58:34right now, it's a buzzword. So they know how to fucking
- 58:36market something using something that's going to piss people off
- 58:39or get a lot of investors really excited.
- 58:43Larian doesn't deserve this hate, right?
- 58:46They're getting right now, but there should be shit thrown at
- 58:49Activision. There should definitely be shit
- 58:52thrown at Ubisoft. Well, and that's all these other
- 58:54studios. Where, where was that for them?
- 58:56Like like Larian has has been very pro dev, pro consumer, pro
- 59:01community. And if you're mad at Larian,
- 59:03give shit to the game of the year this year.
- 59:05Well, and I, I have something on that actually, yeah.
- 59:10What was I was looking into that after you had said it.
- 59:13So a apparently they didn't use any AI in the actual creation of
- 59:17the game. Some of their posters had AI
- 59:20which they used a external contractor and didn't realize
- 59:24it. So they essentially use like AUE
- 59:275 texture pack that was supposed to later be replaced and it
- 59:34didn't happen so. What a lazy fuck that guy is.
- 59:37Yeah, right. Something just got missed,
- 59:40right? So it doesn't sound like they
- 59:43actually used AI in the actual creation of their game.
- 59:47It was mainly like some weird art things where it's like, oh,
- 59:50we use this as a placeholder and it made it through in this one
- 59:53specific spot, or they had a contractor that gave them like
- 59:57an AI poster. OK, so the friends lived to be
- 1:00:01hated less a little bit today. That's fine.
- 1:00:03Just today. Tomorrow is a different day.
- 1:00:05No, I mean, we just, we can still keep that.
- 1:00:07Going just there's no AI hatred. To be fair, that is my game of
- 1:00:10the year and I stand by that. Fuck you guys.
- 1:00:12I mean, I, I, my prediction was that one as well.
- 1:00:14My my pick obviously was. KCD that is.
- 1:00:17Because apparently that was also.
- 1:00:18Let's just. I really want to really want to
- 1:00:20touch on that faster. KCD 2 also got a bunch of hate
- 1:00:25over this like weekend after the Game Awards because they had a
- 1:00:27funny reaction to not winning anything.
- 1:00:30And people were like, oh, you're so ungrateful.
- 1:00:33And they're like, how like, you know, how dare you, like, you
- 1:00:36know, shit on like, you know, another studio winning or
- 1:00:39something like that. And it was just like, it was, it
- 1:00:42was just funny. Like it wasn't, it wasn't really
- 1:00:45meant. I don't think it was meant to be
- 1:00:46taken. And just there apparently was an
- 1:00:49actual higher up at the War Horse Studios developer that
- 1:00:53made KCD 2 that said something like we've been robbed at the
- 1:00:57Game Awards or something like that.
- 1:00:59Which if he was serious, I don't know what to tell you, man.
- 1:01:02Like it's people didn't vote for your game.
- 1:01:05Like I've I've picked your game. That's what I can say, but also
- 1:01:09it also felt very hilarious in KCD KCD 2 fashion where it was
- 1:01:14just like that's that's how like an old timey person talks.
- 1:01:17That's not real, I. I assume it was in in jest.
- 1:01:20Right. Because I think the full quote
- 1:01:22was like, I think it's fair to say we've been robbed.
- 1:01:24And that's like, OK, that's you can't be serious.
- 1:01:26Yeah. It's something like Monty Python
- 1:01:28ask, right? Yeah, yeah, like I hope so, but
- 1:01:32no, I like and that's the thing. I just, I don't, I don't care if
- 1:01:36they use Gen. AI for a mood board or, or like
- 1:01:39helping with a mood board. Like that's what I mean.
- 1:01:43Again, not replacing someone, but like that's sort of where I
- 1:01:46got the gist. And it's like, OK, then who
- 1:01:48cares? Like I'm not even going to know.
- 1:01:51Like that's the thing. I think a lot of people are a
- 1:01:55lot, I think a lot of people are playing games or interested in
- 1:01:57games that are being made or created in some part with Gen.
- 1:02:01AI that's not replacing a human and they have no idea just
- 1:02:05because it's simply not talked about.
- 1:02:08That's all. And why would anybody talk about
- 1:02:10it now? There's no reason to, there's no
- 1:02:11incentive. It's actually just it's, it's
- 1:02:14actually, if anything, it's more of an incentive to lie.
- 1:02:16It's more of an incentive to go. None of this is made with AI and
- 1:02:19you know that it's not going to, nobody's going to be able to
- 1:02:21figure that out. You know, so they're just going
- 1:02:24to get a bunch of goodwill by saying it's not made with AI,
- 1:02:27and then two years, three years after the game comes out, some
- 1:02:29developers going to leave and go, yeah, like, bullshit.
- 1:02:32Oh yeah. It's and then it's going to be a
- 1:02:34whole thing. Rockstar is going to get a bunch
- 1:02:36of hate because it's going to be made with AI when GTA. 6 comes
- 1:02:40out right. Now anyway, guarantee that.
- 1:02:42They're, they're totally, they're going to get, they're
- 1:02:45going to get so much hate and then the game is going to make
- 1:02:47$70 billion and like. Going to be the highest selling
- 1:02:51game of like forever and make so much fucking.
- 1:02:55It's going to surpass Minecraft. It's going to end like it's
- 1:02:58going to surpass Minecraft in a week.
- 1:02:59It's going to be some crazy shit like that, like dispatch where
- 1:03:02dispatch is like we've we've surpassed like our five year
- 1:03:05sales goals in like 2 weeks or some shit like that.
- 1:03:08It's going to be something crazy on a GT like that level of
- 1:03:11scale. But even even Minecraft uses
- 1:03:15progressive generation right? Like.
- 1:03:18Damn. Just being and you load into a
- 1:03:20new world. Guess what?
- 1:03:21That that world has been generated.
- 1:03:23Yeah, it's, it's like, it's not, it's not artificial
- 1:03:26intelligence, but yeah, you're right.
- 1:03:27Like it's, it's, it's procedural generation of some type, which
- 1:03:30is again what goes back to the whole argument, which is if if
- 1:03:33what Larian is doing and is bad, then so is Minecraft.
- 1:03:36So is risk of rain. So is any.
- 1:03:39So is deep rock. Collect all the deep rock
- 1:03:41collected. Caves are procedurally
- 1:03:42generated. Yeah, you know, how about you
- 1:03:44don't use Excel to fill in your formulas across your entire?
- 1:03:48Space. Do it on pen and paper.
- 1:03:49Have fun, yeah? Do it on pen and paper you lazy
- 1:03:52fuck. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:03:54Don't use technology. We're going back old school,
- 1:03:57baby. Don't type in Word you know.
- 1:03:59Write it down. Use a pen and paper.
- 1:04:02I, I think, you know, I, I think we're all in agreeance, right?
- 1:04:05Don't take people's jobs. That's that's not the use case
- 1:04:08for this. Use it as a tool.
- 1:04:09Use it to help do the mundane fucking looking through hours
- 1:04:15and hours and hours and days upon days of fucking Google
- 1:04:18searches. And from there create your own
- 1:04:21fucking game, if that. If that is the route you go, I
- 1:04:24don't think any of us are going to have any problem with it if
- 1:04:27you utilize a little bit of AI for something odd, right?
- 1:04:31OK, but as long as your art, your music and everything else
- 1:04:36stays being created by people, I don't think there's any harm 1.
- 1:04:42100%. The revolution is now Kill the
- 1:04:45machines, kill the robots. The AI must die.
- 1:04:48Cortana, you're going down. No, you got it.
- 1:04:51No, you got it. You got to die now.
- 1:04:52Like this is this is like Roko's.
- 1:04:54Do you know what Roko's Basilisk is?
- 1:04:56Yeah, we're fucked. No, because of you moron.
- 1:05:01I. Didn't kill her.
- 1:05:02I, for one, welcome my Terminator death.
- 1:05:04Thank you. That's got nothing to do.
- 1:05:07Oh, I'm sorry. Down with the robots.
- 1:05:10If any of you agree with what he said, this is also it all ends
- 1:05:13well or badly for us. We're all we're all cooked.
- 1:05:16Thanks, Nick. Dune started off with an AI war.
- 1:05:19And now? Nick's the one AI war kicking it
- 1:05:21off for us. And you know what?
- 1:05:24If anyone was going to piss the machines off.
- 1:05:25What ended What ended your civilization?
- 1:05:28A guy with a podcast in his basement?
- 1:05:30You. Don't even want to know what my
- 1:05:33Incognito looks like. Dude, no.
- 1:05:35Takes. Certainly not.
- 1:05:37That AI is screaming. I don't want to be sent to you.
- 1:05:41You don't know what he gets off to.
- 1:05:43It's awful. It's awful.
- 1:05:46Jesus. It's very good.
- 1:05:49Again, I'll leave it at this Art is always going to be a human
- 1:05:53made thing. It can be created by machines
- 1:05:56and it could be created by 14 year olds in their basement
- 1:05:59trying to be artists, but it'll never replace those actually
- 1:06:03trying to create something for themselves and for the world.
- 1:06:08You have your Vincent Van Gogh's and then you have Tyler from
- 1:06:12Ohio making fucking big anime titty on Rogue.
- 1:06:17You know something? Like that Tyler get a dog, of
- 1:06:19course. Of course, but what I'm saying
- 1:06:24is I love my names to be made with the hands of humans and not
- 1:06:30have an overreach. But again, with what Larian is
- 1:06:33doing here is not an overreach. This is a very very very very
- 1:06:38pre step to the game. It is literally not even the
- 1:06:42foundational word. This is a grain of sand in the
- 1:06:46grand scheme of it. Keep that in mind when you hear
- 1:06:48the word AI. Stop buzzing around the fucking
- 1:06:52the house like a wasp. Dude, you don't.
- 1:06:55We don't understand. But I understand the rage.
- 1:06:58I understand the anger here. And we should keep that anger
- 1:07:02and get ready to spearhead it towards the people who deserve
- 1:07:06it. Because pretty soon here in
- 1:07:072026, it's going to get fucked up.
- 1:07:10Yeah, fuck you Activision and Ubisoft.
- 1:07:12I know. Yeah.
- 1:07:15Yeah, it's the year where GTA 6 is coming out, Wolverine is
- 1:07:19coming out, possibly Half Life 3.
- 1:07:23We are going to have Pub G, the AI, the movie video game, right?
- 1:07:28That is what I see. I see the Pub G, the AI, the
- 1:07:31movie, mobile video game, movie. That's going to be a thing, I
- 1:07:34guarantee. And it's going to make a lot of
- 1:07:36money at. The end of the day.
- 1:07:37So here's the thing. Can like so like if EA starts
- 1:07:41using AI and a bunch of their games like FIFA and Madden to
- 1:07:44like significantly. They already.
- 1:07:45Are I was going to say, have you seen what Madden and FIFA look
- 1:07:48like these days? Look at the.
- 1:07:49Props. No, I don't.
- 1:07:50I have my head in the sand. OK, I'll have to look.
- 1:07:54I'll have to download the the newest one or something like
- 1:07:57that but like. I'll play their games just.
- 1:07:59Google it. I'll Google it.
- 1:08:00Just ChatGPT it. Yeah, I'll touch.
- 1:08:04It it's AI ception. Like at this point, can I just
- 1:08:09like argue to EA now and be like, OK, so if you're making
- 1:08:11all this money and like you're cutting all the Staffs and like
- 1:08:13can't yet, can't you at least make a Dead Space 2 remake like
- 1:08:17you're. Going to have to write a letter
- 1:08:18to Saudi Arabia now actually. That's not going to.
- 1:08:22They're having their own. They're having their own video
- 1:08:24game festival. Oh, really?
- 1:08:28Lovely. I don't even know anything about
- 1:08:29that. It's like they're on E3.
- 1:08:31Yeah, they're doing that. Oh, interesting.
- 1:08:33Jeff Keeley has competition. I've got halfway there, I'm
- 1:08:37gonna play the fuck out. I had the same thought as he
- 1:08:42did. If that happens, it's going to
- 1:08:46be a moral compass. Battle with me man, I already.
- 1:08:49Know what's going to prevail I'm going to give Saudi Arabia a lot
- 1:08:533 times he's. Going to buy.
- 1:08:54He's going to buy that collector's edition like 3 times
- 1:08:57dude. I almost made a very bad joke
- 1:09:00and I'm so glad I didn't. OK, edit that part up.
- 1:09:04No, it's your. It's your job to guess what the
- 1:09:07joke was. I'll put a pole down that's.
- 1:09:10Huge. That's a terrible.
- 1:09:11Idea. Don't like it?
- 1:09:14Don't like the? Itch hat GPT.
- 1:09:16What was Nick going to say there at the end of that?
- 1:09:19Episode I hate AI, games, games and other forms of media and and
- 1:09:24any finished product. Anything like that, anything in
- 1:09:28the middle, anything past the preconception or like that sort
- 1:09:32of phase like that, like the pre production phase, all of it
- 1:09:35should be made by humans like 100%.
- 1:09:38That's I think that's officially our stance here as well as it
- 1:09:41should never replace anybody's job.
- 1:09:43It should only enhance the tools of the humans that use them that
- 1:09:47work those jobs. It should never in any shape or
- 1:09:50form just replace outright someone.
- 1:09:54We should make AI just watch every atrocity.
- 1:09:58They already do feed. Oh yeah, do you think we could
- 1:10:02feed AIA bunch of WASD and Beyond episodes and have it spit
- 1:10:07out of a WASD episode? That's like the whole like.
- 1:10:12You're trying to take my not job job.
- 1:10:14Yeah, right. This is not a new thing
- 1:10:17unfortunately because there are other podcast hosts that have
- 1:10:19talked about AI music on their podcast or like.
- 1:10:23Which, that's awful. There's, there's, there's been a
- 1:10:26particular prominent, a political radio host who had AI
- 1:10:32conversation with George Washington that he created.
- 1:10:36So you know. George Washington was like buff
- 1:10:38and shit too. He was, really.
- 1:10:39Yeah, he was wearing one of those.
- 1:10:40What's those? What's those shirts they have on
- 1:10:43Instagram reels that all the they true true classic or
- 1:10:47whatever or whatever they're. Called yeah, yeah, the the best
- 1:10:50thick shirts or whatever, Yeah. The ones that like, yes,
- 1:10:53stretch. The on talk shirts and all that
- 1:10:55shit. Yeah, they hide your they hide
- 1:10:57your beer gut or whatever. I don't know.
- 1:10:58I remember. I think it's true classic or
- 1:10:59something. I've.
- 1:11:00Worked hard for this beer gut. Thank you.
- 1:11:02Yeah, exactly. And.
- 1:11:03I'm working hard to get my. Yeah, George Washington was all
- 1:11:05buff and stuff, and he's like, here's what I think.
- 1:11:08Unfortunate part of that. By the way, I did watch that.
- 1:11:10No wooden teeth. Pretty poor performance there.
- 1:11:12Yeah, didn't capture come on quite well.
- 1:11:17And a seventh finger. Weird.
- 1:11:19Anyways, probably 4 balls. That seventh finger has a
- 1:11:23purpose. Thank you.
- 1:11:26Three in the pink, 2IN the stink.
- 1:11:28Nice. That's still only 5.
- 1:11:32Yeah. No, I wasn't done.
- 1:11:34And then you could then you could 2 on the the beam.
- 1:11:38You're just everywhere. You're just everywhere.
- 1:11:40It's a lot of fingers. That's a.
- 1:11:42That's a whole fucking mess right there.
- 1:11:44It's a. Horrifying image.
- 1:11:46Nobody's got the coordination for that shit.
- 1:11:48Hey mid journey 7 fingers. If we journey, I get an idea.
- 1:11:53I guess women could never say they never came then.
- 1:11:56Stop. Seven fingers all.
- 1:11:59That one that's. Crazy business.
- 1:12:01Stop it. Anyways, that was written by AI.
- 1:12:04Wrote that joke with AI. Thank you all.
- 1:12:07I did not. That's AI.
- 1:12:09Unfortunately, that's a Nick original.
- 1:12:12If I'm ever originally, yeah. AI couldn't create that if it's
- 1:12:15right. AI and Sony are in cahoots to
- 1:12:17make their controllers with baby foreskin still.
- 1:12:20I'm not, no. We are.
- 1:12:21Back to that. We're well to that.
- 1:12:24Baby AI can never replace me. Thank you all for listening to
- 1:12:26this week's WASD and beyond. Please let us know what you
- 1:12:29think of all of this. e-mail us at wasdbeyond@gmail.com.
- 1:12:33Again, that is WASD beyond@gmail.com And hey, while
- 1:12:37you're please check us out on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music,
- 1:12:40go give us a like subscribe comment.
- 1:12:43Tell us how much you hate us now for talking about AI.
- 1:12:45That's great, that's cool, very good.
- 1:12:48And while you're at that, go listen to the D&D podcast
- 1:12:51Brody's got going on role for deception.
- 1:12:53Evan and myself are a part of that.
- 1:12:55So go check out it came from screen box.
- 1:12:58That's me, Noah and Alex discussing A horribly from
- 1:13:01screen box. Very fun.
- 1:13:06It should be noted that it came from screen box.
- 1:13:08It's still on the WASD and beyond feed I couldn't roll for.
- 1:13:12Deception is on its own feet separately.
- 1:13:14And that link is down below. Check out the sponsors too,
- 1:13:18Final Boss and Doc Longy. And with that, everybody, we bid
- 1:13:22you farewell. Thank you for listening.
- 1:13:25Is that why? GPT said this is a good podcast
- 1:13:28and you should continue listening and tell your friends.
- 1:13:31This is a great franchise. This podcast was made by humans.
- 1:13:36All of this podcast is made by humans, unfortunately.
- 1:13:38Take it easy folks.
