God wants in your life. I've seen this pattern in the Bible and I'm just going

to show it to you and you do with it what you will.

But I was thinking about randomly, God will just kind of like yell scriptures in my ears.

So there's times in the Bible where people gave large offerings and God showed

up and that might make you mad. I don't know, but I'm just telling you that that's what happened.

But there's also things you need to lay on the altar that aren't money,

like your envy, like your attitude, like your whatever, you know,

like your desire to fight back. That's what I got to lay on the altar.

And i was thinking about this bible verse that says where there's envy and strife,

there's every evil work and so that word envy is like jealousies and stuff and

so when you're jealous or envious or whatever it opens up,

a door for the enemy so let's just go through some of this and see what we can

learn today shall we yes lisa i'd like to do that okay good.

So when you sacrifice, God responds. And, oh, good Lord.

One's going to criticize my nails again. I just realized I got stuff going on.

We cannot buy God. You cannot manipulate God. But scripture repeatedly shows

that God does pay attention to sacrifice.

So, you know, people can say what they want. Well, I don't believe that.

But it's all over scripture. So let's take a look, shall we?

And with Solomon, Solomon gave an extraordinary sacrifice. 2 Chronicles 1, 6-7.

Solomon went up to the brazen altar before the Lord and offered a thousand burnt

offerings. In that night, in the same night, the Bible says, God appeared.

So we all like to talk about, oh my gosh, Solomon had all this wealth,

and he did this, and he did that, and he made silver like stones,
13:53
but nobody talks about that he laid out the biggest offering than anybody had ever seen.

And so obviously God doesn't need your money. He's got one gate made of pearl.

So it's not about the money. It's about the heart of the believer.

And your heart has to be fully sacrificed to God in every way.

Sometimes that sacrifice looks like not arguing with somebody that wants to yell at you.

Sometimes it means if you preach about prosperity and blessing,

and you got a family member saying, like I did, all you want is money, you don't clap back.

You just let them say what they're going to say. You lay that pride on the altar.

You lay that fight back on the altar. You lay that characteristic that's not

like Christ. You put it on the altar. You let it burn up.

You're making a sacrifice. But God blesses sacrifice. So we see that Solomon

did that. He gave an extraordinary offering. And the Bible says in that night,

God appeared to Solomon.

He offered a thousand burnt offerings. That was an enormous sacrifice because

livestock represented real wealth.

They're not symbolic. You know, people sometimes will go, yeah,

well, you know, Solomon didn't give money. Yeah, he gave his food.

So, you know, back in the day, they didn't have grocery stores. You understand that.

So if they gave all this animal meat, that's what they were going to eat.

So they were sacrificing the very nourishment they needed to live on.

So, you know, sometimes we have problems parting with our 20 bucks or 100 bucks,

but you still got a refrigerator stacked with food and a grocery store you can

run to anytime. But Solomon didn't have a grocery store.

Solomon didn't have an endless supply of food. He literally gave up a thousand

animals that could have been used for food.

Now, you might say like what people said when Judas, when they gave that expensive

perfume and Judas says, that's a waste.

I'm sure people thought that. Here's Solomon laying a thousand animals out.

And I'm sure there were people that were like, you know how many people we could feed with that?

You know, but see what that, God doesn't care because God's the one that creates

the animals. And there's a bunch more where that came from, just like there's a lot more money.

So it was enormous sacrifice. Livestock represented real wealth. It wasn't symbolic.

And the burnt offering was significant because the offering was consumed on the altar.

It wasn't something Solomon could take back. It wasn't like he laid those animals out and was like.

That's too many. You imagine if Solomon was like laying out the animals and

then he's like, too many, I'm taking some back. No, he didn't do that.

He let the, he let the fire of God come burn that up.

He was saying, God, this totally belongs to you. And the Bible says that night

God showed up and said, what do you want me to give you?

So Solomon didn't buy God's appearance, but his extravagant worship and sacrifice.

What many Christians don't understand is their offering, whether it's a fight,

which it should be money, but a money offering, but also not fighting back,

not being hateful, whatever the stuff you lay on that altar,

it's a sacrifice before God.

And it opens the favor of God to your life. So sometimes what you put on the

altar determines what God can trust you with after.

he doesn't mind that but the heart of the father is always for other people,

and if you put your heart for other people, God will fill your heart.

And a lot of Christians, I just tell you, I'm just telling you from what I've

learned, get this in a minute, from what I've learned, a lot of Christians are

very much about themselves.

Me, my, my, I want this. I don't want that. I feel like this.

You know, many times they won't go to church because they're too tired.

They won't help out because they don't think they should.

They don't want to give money because that's my money.

Because people can be selfish, it makes them depressed because you weren't designed

to be selfish. You were designed to be like your father. God's a giver.

You're supposed to be a giver, not just with money, just your heart,

just your time, just your love.

a lady. Sometimes she doesn't have anyone else to talk to an older lady.

Sometimes she doesn't have anyone to talk to. And I said, that's the true ministry,

So 2 Chronicles 1, 11 through 12, God gave Solomon wisdom, knowledge, riches, wealth.

All right. What about Cornelius? Look at Cornelius. Cornelius was not an apostle.

He just was a guy that developed a lifestyle and he got heaven's attention.

How did Cornelius get the attention of heaven?

Acts 10, 1 through 4, he was a devout man. He was one that feared God with all

his house and he gave much alms to the people. And he prayed to God always.

This is how you get God's attention. You're devout to God.

You're just a sellout. I love you, God. I love your word. I love you.

I love your kingdom. You fear God.

You know that God is someone to be reverenced and respected.

A lot of people have no fear of God because you feel like you're just under

this grace and you can do anything. Well, I wouldn't try it if I were you. I do fear God. Like,

You know, like for me, I know there's times where, you know,

maybe, I don't know, maybe I didn't have the right attitude or whatever.

And I'm like, oh God, I'm so sorry. Please forgive me.

I mean, this is, you served the same God that opened up the earth and just swallowed people whole.

You served the same God that split the ocean wide open and just took the enemies out like that.

Your God is an angry God. Okay. He's a loving God.

He's a good father, but he can be angry too. And I know people like to tell

you he's not, but he can be.

And I don't want him angry at me. And I know you don't want him angry at you.

So I fear God in that. I have a fear of God.

God is not my chummy, my buddy. I mean, although he calls me friends.

But you should have a reverence that this is a God that sent one angel that

So sometimes when you sacrifice and immediately you don't get something back,

you think it's not working, but that's not the case with the Bible.

Sometimes the most expensive thing that God asks you to put on the altar isn't

It's your attitude. It's your anger. It's your jealousy. It could be your offense.

Everything comes from you. And I love you. And that's what he was saying.

His prayers and giving was like a memorial. Heaven recorded it, that generosity.

So sometimes it's your heart. So again, what if your only sacrifice today is

your attitude, your anger, your jealousy, your offense, or your need to prove

somebody else wrong and you right?

Romans 12.1 says, present your body. So your body is a living sacrifice.

Just say this over yourself right now. Say, I am a living sacrifice.

For where the Bible says in James 3.16, for where there's envy and strife.

There's confusion in every evil work. What is strife, y'all? It's just bickering.

That's what strife is. And then envy is, I should have that and they shouldn't.

It's not just noticing someone else's blessing. It's becoming distressed,

resentful or discontented that somebody else has success and you don't.

Envy says, why did they get it? How come they got that opportunity?

Why is that ministry growing? Why did they get promoted? How come people notice them?

I've done that. Okay. Let me just out myself. I have done that.

I have been like, Lord, that person is goofy. How come that person...

And then I was like, oh crap, I'm in envy. This is bad. I've had to learn that lesson.

Sacrifice the envy, lay it on the altar. You might have an emotional reason

to feel jealous, sacrifice it anyway.

You might've been overlooked, sacrifice your need to be appreciated.

That's a tough one. God really loves you and he appreciates you,

but ladies and me, we need to sacrifice our need to be appreciated.

Well, that doesn't sound right. Yeah, it does, because God will reward you. He will appreciate you.

Sometimes celebrating someone else's blessing while you're waiting for yours

is an enormous sacrifice.

Sacrifice the bad attitude. Sometimes we say, God changed my circumstances,
