- 0:44Speaker 4: that's just my take of the day.
- 0:46Speaker 2: We'll expound on that, I guess.
- 0:48Speaker 4: I hope.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I wonder. A little bit later on.

- 1:22Speaker 3: and we will get you on the air and turn
- 1:24Speaker 3: you into a superstar. How are you guys doing on
- 1:27Speaker 3: this Friday afternoon?
- 1:28Speaker 5: Good.
- 1:29Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:30Speaker 4: So far, so good. Jack, you seem awfully peppy. It's Friday.
- 1:35Speaker 7: The show is filled with stuff we're doing. I mean,
- 1:38Speaker 7: there's a lot of features, a lot of plans for today.
- 1:41Speaker 7: And we're actually getting out a half hour early because
- 1:44Speaker 7: of Tampa Bay Bucks preseason football. So the show ends
- 1:47Speaker 7: at 6.30 tonight. But a lot of interesting stuff happening.
- 1:52Speaker 4: And I've been busy. I don't know. I'm in a
- 1:53Speaker 4: good mood. Yeah, you are. I think it's the multivitamin
- 1:56Speaker 4: that you took that's talking right now.
- 1:58Speaker 7: Yeah, I definitely take that. But also, Fridays is cool because... Ah,
- 2:04Speaker 7: there we go. We kind of hooked our wagon to
- 2:08Speaker 7: something the Monsters did long ago, and it was when
- 2:11Speaker 7: Angel joined the Monsters, he had a feature they used
- 2:14Speaker 7: to do on SBK Live called Beer of the Week,
- 2:17Speaker 7: and so he brought it to the Monsters. And it's
- 2:19Speaker 7: a way for them to close out a Friday is drinking.
- 2:23Speaker 7: And so we kind of came up with Whiskey of
- 2:27Speaker 7: the Week, and we partnered with our friends at Forward Slash.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Ross is a big fan. Huge.
- 2:32Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 7: And that means we get to look forward to having
- 2:35Speaker 7: whiskey and or bourbon each Friday. So I'm holding in
- 2:40Speaker 7: my hand today's selection. of Holt and Capon, Marion, Barry, Mead,
- 2:46Speaker 7: and I think- Oh, wow. And instead of waiting until 445,
- 2:49Speaker 7: I think- Yes.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Go ahead, you guys.
- 2:54Speaker 7: I think what we do is we start at three,
- 2:57Speaker 7: and then by 445, we can really allow the taste- Yes.
- 3:03Speaker 4: That is to rise to the surface. You know, I agree. Yes. Yeah.
- 3:09Speaker 9: Yes.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Okay.
- 3:10Speaker 3: So maybe we could take some bets if you guys
- 3:13Speaker 3: start now. Do you believe that that bottle will actually
- 3:16Speaker 3: still be?
- 3:17Speaker 1: No, it won't.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Okay. It's 100 milliliters.
- 3:20Speaker 7: I just did the math. That's 3.38 ounces. That means
- 3:23Speaker 7: it's a little over an ounce and a half for
- 3:25Speaker 7: each of us. Which is really half of what I
- 3:27Speaker 7: put in a normal old-fashioned.
- 3:28Speaker 2: You know what?
- 3:29Speaker 4: I like this idea. You guys have a little dipple.
- 3:31Speaker 4: A little, what is it? A dipple?
- 3:33Speaker 3: I don't know what a dipple is. I don't know
- 3:35Speaker 3: what a dipple is. No, we can, hey, we'll rip
- 3:38Speaker 3: a dipple.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Rip a dipple. Okay. Showtime already. That's so good, Deb.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Holy hell.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Did you just pour that whole thing out?
- 3:47Speaker 4: I told you it was only 100 milliliters, Deb. That's
- 3:50Speaker 4: like four or five dipples.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Hang on to that bottle. I'll need that later for the... Well,
- 3:56Speaker 3: that's actually not okay.
- 3:58Speaker 4: All right.
- 3:59Speaker 3: So we're going to do a toast for all of
- 4:03Speaker 3: those who are still at the office.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Stuck in traffic.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:07Speaker 3: There may be two hours away from having their own
- 4:10Speaker 3: Friday Dipple. Yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 4: Friday Dipple.
- 4:12Speaker 3: So cheers to all of those working stiffs who are
- 4:15Speaker 3: on the road or in your office.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Cheers.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Rip that. Dipple! Rip that Dipple. You're making up words.
- 4:22Speaker 4: You're like Shakespeare.
- 4:23Speaker 3: And I'm not even having any of that whiskey of
- 4:25Speaker 3: the week. But what's interesting is that that's a mead
- 4:27Speaker 3: as well that you said.
- 4:28Speaker 4: So I'm interesting to.
- 4:30Speaker 3: when after an hour and a half those notes truly
- 4:32Speaker 3: open up and blossom.
- 4:33Speaker 7: There is a lot happening there and i think i'm
- 4:35Speaker 7: gonna need an hour and a half to really process
- 4:38Speaker 7: it just make.
- 4:38Speaker 10: Sure that i thought please you guys are the only
- 4:43Speaker 10: two who know how to.
- 4:44Speaker 4: Run that board i don't know if we're gonna make
- 4:46Speaker 4: it deb see lane.
- 4:47Speaker 3: I can't ask him to stay to run the board
- 4:49Speaker 3: it's just worn me all i bet.
- 4:51Speaker 2: I bet now you know i kept the vikings alive.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Okay what's that dipple name of the show uh fun
- 4:56Speaker 4: fact about that dipple about mead because i know i'm
- 4:59Speaker 4: sure there's some people going what yeah mead is basically
- 5:03Speaker 4: like pre-beer dude that mead is like the oldest drink
- 5:08Speaker 4: of all time it's literally older than the wheel is
- 5:11Speaker 4: it really it's older than the wheel i.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Did not know that we do have some really fun
- 5:15Speaker 3: food things coming up We're going to talk to Fayez
- 5:18Speaker 3: Kara from the Restaurant Critic for the Orlando Weekly. He's
- 5:21Speaker 3: going to give us the serious reviews, but we've got
- 5:23Speaker 3: some fun food news. I do want to let you
- 5:25Speaker 3: know that we are keeping an eye as the jury
- 5:28Speaker 3: deliberations continue in the Lindsay Clancy case up in Massachusetts.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Right now, apparently, I'm reading off the screen, the jury
- 5:35Speaker 3: has asked to see two bags of pills, a knife
- 5:39Speaker 3: as deliberations continue. So, If and when that verdict happens
- 5:42Speaker 3: to be reached during any time during the show today,
- 5:45Speaker 3: we'll make sure that we bring you the latest.
- 5:46Speaker 8: Right.
- 5:47Speaker 4: I'm sorry. What case was this? This is the.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Woman who was charged with killing her three children due
- 5:53Speaker 3: to postpartum psychosis.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Got it.
- 5:55Speaker 6: Yes.
- 5:56Speaker 4: This one is a very interesting legal. Yeah.
- 6:00Speaker 3: This has been interesting how many people are invested in
- 6:04Speaker 3: this case. We learned Monday, Brandon Kravitz from 96.9 The Game,
- 6:08Speaker 3: who talks sports with us.
- 6:09Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Said his wife is obsessed with this case, so every
- 6:12Speaker 3: night they'd be talking about the latest courtroom dealings.
- 6:16Speaker 7: Well, I think there's definitely that added element of when
- 6:20Speaker 7: you talk about women's health, that gets ignored a lot.
- 6:23Speaker 7: It was amazing to me, you know, As someone very
- 6:28Speaker 7: close to me was going through perimenopause and that whole thing,
- 6:32Speaker 7: how little is known about the female body when female
- 6:37Speaker 7: anatomy and health issues are different from men, how little
- 6:42Speaker 7: that gets attention. And is known about it. So it's
- 6:47Speaker 7: interesting about postpartum depression.
- 6:49Speaker 6: Yes.
- 6:50Speaker 7: How that's something that guys don't deal with. So it's
- 6:53Speaker 7: something that, oh, yeah, it's a thing.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Well, I remember if you remember back in the day,
- 6:58Speaker 3: it was just called the baby blues.
- 7:00Speaker 8: Right.
- 7:00Speaker 3: You know, she might cry a little bit more often
- 7:02Speaker 3: after the, you know, with the baby. She's exhausted. Hormones
- 7:06Speaker 3: are regulating itself. I think you're right, Jack. And along
- 7:08Speaker 3: with this case is the idea of a woman crying.
- 7:11Speaker 3: hurting her children with something called, you know, postpartum psychosis.
- 7:15Speaker 3: A lot of people are like, well, what the hell
- 7:17Speaker 3: is that?
- 7:18Speaker 7: Yeah, there's a lot of layers to this, you know,
- 7:20Speaker 7: but I mean, she did take the life of her
- 7:22Speaker 7: three children.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:24Speaker 7: Now it's what do you do with this woman who
- 7:26Speaker 7: was actually seeking help as well? I know at the time,
- 7:30Speaker 7: but couldn't get it.
- 7:31Speaker 3: It's interesting when your former mother-in-law actually testifies on your behalf.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I don't know if you realize that, but yeah, she
- 7:39Speaker 3: was one of the witnesses for Lindsay talking about how
- 7:42Speaker 3: even the day before the tragedy occurred, she was asking,
- 7:46Speaker 3: begging for help.
- 7:47Speaker 7: And it's amazing that we are the only media outlet
- 7:50Speaker 7: and radio show actually talking about this case.
- 7:53Speaker 2: I'm sure nobody else has.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Well, at the very least, we're the only one talking
- 7:58Speaker 4: about it while drinking mead. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we got
- 8:01Speaker 4: that going for us. We got this weird lark background. Hey,
- 8:03Speaker 4: you should rip a little dipple over there for C-Lane. Yeah, well,
- 8:08Speaker 4: the bottle's empty. Sorry, C-Lane.
- 8:10Speaker 3: I don't think C-Lane would mind a little off the
- 8:12Speaker 3: top of each of your glasses.
- 8:14Speaker 4: Yeah, dude, just baby bird them. Baby bird them. This
- 8:17Speaker 4: is going to be a weird show. This mead is
- 8:19Speaker 4: way stronger. What is this, 80% alcohol? I have to
- 8:22Speaker 4: look at the notes. Dude, this is made from Gandalf sweat.
- 8:25Speaker 7: Real quick, before we get too far away, News Junkie
- 8:27Speaker 7: has been covering this case in depth all week. So
- 8:31Speaker 7: he's been right on top of it, along with C-Lane.
- 8:33Speaker 7: So and of course, because they have been quit.
- 8:35Speaker 4: Drinking, by the way, C-Lane quit drinking today.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Did he really?
- 8:38Speaker 4: I just don't want to give him my booze. I'm
- 8:41Speaker 4: so damn gullible.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Yeah. So because they have been covering it so extensively,
- 8:44Speaker 3: as well as a lot of people have, we'll make
- 8:46Speaker 3: sure that we do. We bring you guys the verdict
- 8:48Speaker 3: if it comes down. You guys feeling good? Not too good?
- 8:52Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Feeling a little fuzzy around the edges?
- 8:54Speaker 4: I only had one sip. I'll be honest with you.
- 8:56Speaker 4: I am feeling too good. Is it Friday too good or? No,
- 9:01Speaker 4: it was a productive morning. Ain't nothing when you just
- 9:05Speaker 4: tame the wild bull that is a morning, right? Just
- 9:09Speaker 4: when you first wake up and that first step that
- 9:12Speaker 4: you do, that's a big crossroads moment for your 24
- 9:16Speaker 4: hour window of existence.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the truth.
- 9:18Speaker 4: And when I got out, I don't know, I felt
- 9:20Speaker 4: the cold tile of my bedroom floor and then just
- 9:24Speaker 4: made my bed immediately. And then I didn't stop. Oh, productive.
- 9:31Speaker 2: You're not supposed to make your bed right away.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Why not?
- 9:34Speaker 3: They say because you're supposed to let it dry out
- 9:36Speaker 3: for about 15 to 20 minutes.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Dry out?
- 9:39Speaker 3: Yeah, because from the sweat overnight, the dust mites, they
- 9:42Speaker 3: like that hot, humid environment. So if you make your
- 9:44Speaker 3: bed right away, you're not good. Letting the air do
- 9:47Speaker 3: its thing and kind of kill those little things off.
- 9:50Speaker 7: I didn't think I was leaking that much. I've never
- 9:55Speaker 7: heard that before, but it totally makes sense. Yeah, they
- 9:57Speaker 7: say to let it cool down, let it dry off.
- 10:00Speaker 7: a little bit, even if you don't sweat. You don't
- 10:01Speaker 7: have to sweat a lot. It doesn't have to be, like, wet.
- 10:03Speaker 4: No, I do sweat.
- 10:04Speaker 7: Not only that, it's better to leave that, like, if you, like,
- 10:07Speaker 7: get out and you throw the covers open, you want
- 10:09Speaker 7: to leave them open.
- 10:10Speaker 8: Right.
- 10:10Speaker 4: So that can kind of air it a little bit.
- 10:13Speaker 4: And then, you know.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Come back in about 15, 20 minutes later.
- 10:16Speaker 9: After you.
- 10:17Speaker 4: After your coffee. After your coffee, exactly. And I figured
- 10:20Speaker 4: out that I don't just sweat every night. It all
- 10:22Speaker 4: depends on what I eat. Oh, yeah? Yeah. If I
- 10:25Speaker 4: have like a big old steak, dude, I'm washing the
- 10:28Speaker 4: sheets the next morning.
- 10:29Speaker 2: You're getting the meat sweats?
- 10:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Isn't there a nickname for the meat sweats?
- 10:34Speaker 4: I don't know. I just call it itis. Yeah, there
- 10:37Speaker 4: you go. Got that itis. Steak makes me sweat when
- 10:41Speaker 4: I go to sleep. Are you a sweater? I can't
- 10:43Speaker 4: be the only one. I had steak last night. I
- 10:45Speaker 4: didn't sweat. I don't know. Not to my knowledge. I'm
- 10:50Speaker 4: a cool sleeper. I'm a sweat sleeper myself.
- 10:53Speaker 3: You're a sweat sleeper? But that's because of, you know,
- 10:57Speaker 3: women issues. You know, of a certain age, you know.
- 11:00Speaker 3: I'm like a rotisserie chicken, or think of me as
- 11:02Speaker 3: like a taquito at 7-Eleven, spinning on those little rollers
- 11:06Speaker 3: all night long.
- 11:07Speaker 4: I sleep next to the one. Rotisserie chickens and taquitos
- 11:10Speaker 4: are spun differently. Well, they're both rotated. Yeah, well, it's
- 11:14Speaker 4: the same thing.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Now, Jack, how cold does NaomiBradshaw.com like to keep your
- 11:21Speaker 3: home at night?
- 11:21Speaker 2: Does she freeze you out or is it still relatively doable?
- 11:24Speaker 4: I've learned my lesson about adjusting the thermostat. You said
- 11:29Speaker 4: that as my husband did the same thing a couple
- 11:30Speaker 4: of times.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Did you change the temp because it felt really warm?
- 11:33Speaker 4: I haven't touched it in nearly a year.
- 11:37Speaker 2: What's it set at at night?
- 11:38Speaker 4: 77. Oh, really? It's not crazy.
- 11:42Speaker 7: The AC blows like that vent that when it's on,
- 11:45Speaker 7: I mean, it's hitting directly. That's cold, but 77 is
- 11:49Speaker 7: a nice temperature.
- 11:49Speaker 4: I don't know. 69 at my house. I can't. That night.
- 11:53Speaker 4: I couldn't.
- 11:54Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 11:55Speaker 2: I can tell if it's 70.
- 11:56Speaker 7: I can't artificially chill it where I'm cold enough where
- 12:00Speaker 7: I have to now dress to counter that.
- 12:03Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
- 12:04Speaker 9: I do.
- 12:04Speaker 7: I have to wear more clothes because of how cold
- 12:06Speaker 7: we've made it. Well, what about bed sheets?
- 12:09Speaker 4: Checkmate. Checkmate. You put on bed... This meat rips. If
- 12:14Speaker 4: you go ahead... If you go ahead, I don't know
- 12:18Speaker 4: where that came from. We're not playing chess. I'm sorry.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Oh, you're ripping the dip. Well, that's for sure.
- 12:22Speaker 4: But if you go ahead and rock bed sheets in
- 12:25Speaker 4: a cold night and all of a sudden you're just
- 12:27Speaker 4: surrounded by basically like menthol air, I'm with you. My
- 12:31Speaker 4: temperature drops lower at night for sure. Oh, yeah.
- 12:34Speaker 3: No, I mean, even at 69, I still end up
- 12:38Speaker 3: having to throw off the blankets in the middle of
- 12:40Speaker 3: the night.
- 12:41Speaker 4: And again, you know, my jammies are how I was born.
- 12:43Speaker 1: So.
- 12:44Speaker 3: I mean, even in the middle of the night, I'll
- 12:46Speaker 3: be sweating like a whore in church.
- 12:49Speaker 4: In the middle of the night, I'm kind of disgusting.
- 12:56Speaker 2: No, you're not. We love you on Mead.
- 12:57Speaker 4: All right.
- 12:58Speaker 3: So like Jack said, we got a lot of really
- 13:00Speaker 3: fun features coming up. We're going to do, Jimmy may
- 13:02Speaker 3: not be here, but he's still going to tell you
- 13:04Speaker 3: the best cigar to get from Corona Cigar Company. Faiz Kara,
- 13:08Speaker 3: restaurant critic, is going to talk to us about the
- 13:10Speaker 3: best local restaurants.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Ah, sink or sail.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Jack is going to have a yacht rock option for
- 13:15Speaker 3: us to vote on today. Well, we're going to hopefully
- 13:17Speaker 3: get to forward slash whiskey of the week. Those guys
- 13:19Speaker 3: will probably have that done before then. And then we're
- 13:22Speaker 3: going to end the show up with the 8-bit update
- 13:24Speaker 3: with Jaden Grimes giving us the latest in the world
- 13:27Speaker 3: of gaming.
- 13:28Speaker 4: Right now, we're going to take a little break.
- 13:29Speaker 3: But when we come back, we're going to talk about
- 13:31Speaker 3: a West Nile advisory has been issued in Orange County.
- 13:35Speaker 3: The Palm Beach County clerk charged with sex crimes has
- 13:37Speaker 3: been granted bond.
- 13:39Speaker 8: What?
- 13:40Speaker 4: Why can't his ass stay in jail? Money, influence, power.
- 13:44Speaker 4: There you go, Jack. There you go. Button, button on
- 13:47Speaker 4: the rose.
- 13:47Speaker 3: And then finally, this city is named the number one
- 13:51Speaker 3: road trip destination. We'll talk about that and more coming
- 13:55Speaker 3: up next during JCS News. So keep it right here
- 13:57Speaker 3: on the Jim Colbert Show on Real Radio 104.1.
- 13:58Speaker 13: This is Deb, large and in charge on Aloha Friday. Yeah,
- 14:03Speaker 13: you gotta start with the 800-count Egyptian cotton sheets. I
- 14:06Speaker 13: also have a 10,000 BTU portable AC in the bedroom.
- 14:11Speaker 13: Even though we got a brand new unit last year,
- 14:13Speaker 13: our house stays at 76 all the time. And at night,
- 14:16Speaker 13: I crank that portable AC down to 66. Box fan,
- 14:20Speaker 13: ceiling fan in addition. Shoot, so my electric bill was
- 14:23Speaker 13: only $ 134 last month.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Freeze it.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Aloha.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Aloha.
- 14:28Speaker 12: Yeah, be careful with the night sweats, that itis stuff.
- 14:34Speaker 12: I was having those night sweats, and they did a
- 14:37Speaker 12: scan of me, and it turned out it was an itis, pancreatitis.
- 14:41Speaker 12: No more drinky drinks for quite some time, and no
- 14:44Speaker 12: more heavy fat or sugar, so be careful if you're
- 14:47Speaker 12: having them night sweats. They didn't even figure it out
- 14:49Speaker 12: until they scanned me, so watch yourself.
- 14:53Speaker 9: Not only do I do the thing in the morning
- 14:55Speaker 9: with the sheets, I don't make my bed right away,
- 14:57Speaker 9: but also before I go to bed, I pull the
- 15:00Speaker 9: sheets back And I let the AC cool my sheets
- 15:03Speaker 9: down for about 15 or so minutes.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Sometimes more.
- 15:06Speaker 9: It just depends on when I think about it. And
- 15:08Speaker 9: then when I get in, my sheets are nice and cool.
- 15:12Speaker 4: Okay, and a quick example of how not to leave
- 15:14Speaker 4: a talkback. Ross, you would not believe the things.
- 15:18Speaker 5: That come out of your head while you're sleeping. First
- 15:23Speaker 5: and foremost, have you ever taken a pillowcase off and
- 15:26Speaker 5: looked at the pillow?
- 15:28Speaker 4: It looks like an old-school map.
- 15:32Speaker 5: That's what's coming out of your head, man.
- 15:34Speaker 4: I didn't know I leaked that much either. And in
- 15:38Speaker 4: different colors.
- 15:42Speaker 7: So if you're on a tractor, don't send us a
- 15:45Speaker 7: talk back. I think it's part of the charm. Hearing
- 15:50Speaker 7: white Cheech and Chong go at it is.
- 15:52Speaker 4: A lot of fun.
- 15:53Speaker 3: But if there's anyone who needs to get that itis
- 15:55Speaker 3: checked out, it's our tea bag.
- 15:59Speaker 4: That's my guy right there. He's everybody's guy. We love him.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Jim Culbert Show on Real Radio 104.1.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Hope you're having a great Friday afternoon. Like I said earlier,
- 16:09Speaker 3: thank you so much for spending some of your time
- 16:11Speaker 3: with us. We really do appreciate it. But right now,
- 16:14Speaker 3: let's go ahead and do a little JCS News.
- 16:17Speaker 4: It's time for JCS News.
- 16:18Speaker 8: Wow.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Has this guy got to put his name on everything?
- 16:23Speaker 4: It's in my contract, dude. Here's the news on the
- 16:25Speaker 4: Jim Colbert Show.
- 16:27Speaker 3: And JCS News is brought to you by that mortgage guy, Don.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Make sure you give him a listen tomorrow morning when
- 16:33Speaker 3: he's host of the Home Loans Radio Show. Ah, the
- 16:36Speaker 3: remnants of what was Tropical Storm Dolly are expected to
- 16:39Speaker 3: bring heavy rain to parts of the Caribbean this weekend.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Just like the real Dolly Parton, right? Even though the
- 16:44Speaker 3: storm had nothing to do with that. Just bringing rain
- 16:47Speaker 3: to areas that could really, really use it. None of
- 16:50Speaker 3: the destruction.
- 16:51Speaker 4: Aww. Aww, I know.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Although the system has weakened, forecasters say it could still
- 16:56Speaker 3: produce gusty winds and heavy rainfall. The Leeward Islands could
- 16:59Speaker 3: see heavy rain late Saturday into Sunday with the Virgin Islands,
- 17:02Speaker 3: Puerto Rico, which really needs it. and Hispaniola facing impacts
- 17:06Speaker 3: Sunday into Monday. Closer to home, Volusia County residents have
- 17:10Speaker 3: 90 days to comment on or appeal proposed updates to
- 17:16Speaker 3: federal flood maps. That's according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
- 17:20Speaker 3: The review period applies to changes to the county's flood
- 17:23Speaker 3: insurance rate map.
- 17:26Speaker 11: Oh, yeah.
- 17:27Speaker 3: The preliminary maps can be viewed through FEMA's Flood Map
- 17:30Speaker 3: Changes Viewer or the FEMA Map Service Center. Speaking of
- 17:35Speaker 3: wet weather and rain, there's a West Nile virus advisory
- 17:39Speaker 3: in effect in Central Florida. The Florida Department of Health
- 17:42Speaker 3: in Orange County issued the advisory yesterday after some sentinel
- 17:46Speaker 3: chickens tested positive. I'm embarrassed to say how many years
- 17:50Speaker 3: I thought sentinel chickens were like a particular.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Breed of chicken. Oh, wait a minute. What are they then? Well,
- 17:57Speaker 4: I didn't realize this, but they're called sentinels. Because they're left-leaning? Gotcha, Scott. Sentinel. Sentinel. Anyway,
- 18:09Speaker 4: as it stands guard.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 18:12Speaker 6: Okay.
- 18:13Speaker 7: So it's just a regular chicken, but it's doing a job.
- 18:16Speaker 7: And so that's the Sentinel is the name of its job,
- 18:20Speaker 7: not the name of its breed.
- 18:22Speaker 3: And it took me years to actually learn that. But yeah,
- 18:25Speaker 3: they put cages of these chickens in area where they
- 18:28Speaker 3: think the virus may be detected. And then they test
- 18:31Speaker 3: the chicken's blood to find out whether or not there's
- 18:33Speaker 3: West Nile in the area.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Oh, PETA must love that. Isn't that?
- 18:36Speaker 2: I'm sure they do.
- 18:37Speaker 6: Yeah, exactly.
- 18:38Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Mosquito control manager Steve Harrison says, listen, there's no need
- 18:42Speaker 3: to panic, but he does tell News 6 residents can
- 18:44Speaker 3: still go outside, but should take precautions. You know, with
- 18:47Speaker 3: recent rain, dump out the flower pots and anywhere else
- 18:50Speaker 3: we have collected rainwater. Wear heavy long sleeves and pants
- 18:55Speaker 3: when you go outside at night. Why did that sound
- 18:56Speaker 3: like I got that wrong?
- 18:58Speaker 7: Wear heavy long sleeves and pants when you go outside
- 19:01Speaker 7: at night.
- 19:01Speaker 3: And then I said maybe not heavy, but yeah, somewhere
- 19:03Speaker 3: I sounded like I said skip the pants.
- 19:05Speaker 4: Well, I think it was the octave drop for me.
- 19:09Speaker 4: And for you, that's significant. Yeah, yeah. All of a sudden,
- 19:12Speaker 4: we were in the living room, and then we were
- 19:14Speaker 4: in the basement. All right.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Suspended Palm Beach County Clerk Michael Caruso will soon be
- 19:21Speaker 3: out of jail after a judge-granted bond. Caruso is charged
- 19:25Speaker 3: with five felonies involving sexual abuse of a young family member.
- 19:29Speaker 3: In court today, an FDLE special agent testified about the
- 19:32Speaker 3: allegations of misconduct during a family cruise.
- 19:36Speaker 12: And were the allegations of a sexual nature that occurred
- 19:39Speaker 12: on the icon of the seas?
- 19:40Speaker 4: That is correct.
- 19:41Speaker 14: And was the person that was reporting those sexual allegations
- 19:45Speaker 14: still the same child victim?
- 19:46Speaker 4: Correct.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Caruso denies any wrongdoing. bond has been set at 157
- 19:51Speaker 3: 000 and it came out today that apparently this victim
- 19:54Speaker 3: is one of many oh today that was learned that
- 19:58Speaker 3: apparently he's abused several other family members um and they
- 20:02Speaker 3: apparently were a very A strict religious family who didn't
- 20:05Speaker 3: want this brought up. They didn't want any shame brought
- 20:07Speaker 3: on to the family. So everything was kind of hush-hush
- 20:09Speaker 3: and swept underneath it.
- 20:10Speaker 7: So they'll just absorb the trauma and not have public shame.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Yeah, ruin a child's life, but at least he gets
- 20:19Speaker 3: to keep his ill-gained reputation. An Orlando man who ran
- 20:23Speaker 3: a Ponzi scheme is in more legal trouble. Two lawsuits
- 20:27Speaker 3: were filed two weeks ago against Christopher Delgado by the
- 20:30Speaker 3: SEC Department.
- 20:31Speaker 2: And the U.S.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Delgado pled guilty two months ago
- 20:36Speaker 3: to defrauding investors of $ 250 million through a crypto firm
- 20:40Speaker 3: called Goliath Ventures, but the lawsuits claim he stole at
- 20:44Speaker 3: least $ 200 million more than he admitted to. Delgado is
- 20:50Speaker 3: due to be sentenced in October. All right, this next
- 20:56Speaker 3: one is– I think of you with this story, Jack,
- 20:58Speaker 3: because you're someone who gets, like a lot of folks,
- 21:01Speaker 3: your prescriptions through the mail, always looking for the best benefits.
- 21:04Speaker 15: That you can get.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:05Speaker 4: Yeah, for a lot of folks. Well, the state– You
- 21:07Speaker 4: get drugs through the mail? Sometimes. Okay.
- 21:09Speaker 3: And some prescriptions require you to do that. Stay out
- 21:11Speaker 3: of my mailbox, bro. It's against federal law, Ross.
- 21:14Speaker 4: Yeah, but his drugs come in like a teddy bear.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Someone tell Randy Fine to stay out of the mail. Yeah,
- 21:21Speaker 4: no doubt. All right.
- 21:23Speaker 3: The state has filed a suit against two pharmacy benefit managers,
- 21:27Speaker 3: alleging they colluded over the past few years to fix
- 21:29Speaker 3: prices and underpay Florida pharmacies. Attorney General James Uthmeyer says
- 21:35Speaker 3: he's targeting Prime Therapeutics and Express Scripts.
- 21:39Speaker 16: Back in December 2019, these two companies announced a collaboration.
- 21:44Speaker 4: It was not a merger. It was not a joint venture.
- 21:47Speaker 16: It was a collaboration, but in reality, it was a
- 21:50Speaker 16: price-fixing agreement.
- 21:52Speaker 3: So Uthmeyer says after the agreement, reimbursement rates went down
- 21:56Speaker 3: by about 80% for branded drugs and 70% for generics,
- 22:01Speaker 3: turning many prescriptions into losses for neighborhood pharmacies and increasing
- 22:06Speaker 3: costs to patients. The lawsuit was filed in Polk County
- 22:09Speaker 3: seeks to stop the practice and recover damages, penalties and
- 22:13Speaker 3: other relief under Florida antitrust and consumer protection laws.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Way to go, Uthmeyer.
- 22:18Speaker 7: And when you're done investigating that, let's find out how
- 22:21Speaker 7: Hope Florida got $ 10 million from a settlement.
- 22:24Speaker 3: It's interesting that you bring that up because the Democratic
- 22:28Speaker 3: candidate for governor, David Jolly, has said, you know, listen,
- 22:34Speaker 3: I'll reopen that investigation about it. And he's also asking,
- 22:38Speaker 3: what do you call it? He's asking Byron Donalds to
- 22:40Speaker 3: do his part as well.
- 22:41Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Commit to it now. Yeah.
- 22:44Speaker 3: So Jolly, a Democratic nominee for governor, David Jolly, says
- 22:48Speaker 3: he would reopen the Hope, Florida investigation if elected governor.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Of course, Jolly's comments follow a leaked grand jury report
- 22:55Speaker 3: that found $ 10 million in Medicaid settlement money was misused
- 22:59Speaker 3: for political purposes but did not result in any criminal charges.
- 23:03Speaker 4: I'm always confused when that happens.
- 23:05Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 23:05Speaker 4: You know what I mean? You kind of see, yeah.
- 23:08Speaker 4: We saw it with Matt Gaetz, too, right? Yes, yes.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Jolly called the findings evidence of a scheme to funnel
- 23:14Speaker 3: public money through a charity tied to First Lady Casey
- 23:17Speaker 3: DeSantis and urged Republican nominee Byron Donalds to support a
- 23:21Speaker 3: new investigation. Governor Ron DeSantis, we covered this yesterday, but
- 23:25Speaker 3: he blasted the report, calling the controversy a hoax and
- 23:30Speaker 3: saying the only apparent crime was the leak of the
- 23:33Speaker 3: sealed grand jury findings. DeSantis also defended the Medicaid settlement,
- 23:37Speaker 3: saying the money was handled legally. We had played audio
- 23:40Speaker 3: of him yesterday saying it was a private settlement, which
- 23:44Speaker 3: I still think, how does that not make it taxpayer money?
- 23:48Speaker 3: Jolly argued the report raises serious questions about corruption in
- 23:52Speaker 3: state government.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Hell yeah. So the leak is what is the illegal
- 23:57Speaker 4: thing in being condemned by our leaders? Right. Or the
- 24:01Speaker 4: people who are involved with said crime.
- 24:04Speaker 3: But I hear the I hear the yeah, the bitterness
- 24:08Speaker 3: and the edges of those words, Ross. But yes, you
- 24:10Speaker 3: are correct. And I always try to walk the balance
- 24:12Speaker 3: of like because there is.
- 24:14Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 24:14Speaker 4: It's a weird balance about whistleblowing in just in general,
- 24:18Speaker 4: because there's whistleblowers and then they get in trouble and
- 24:21Speaker 4: then it forces the public to be like, what side
- 24:24Speaker 4: are you on? I know. But it's always weird no
- 24:27Speaker 4: matter what happens when the truth is.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Feels illegal yeah wow i hadn't thought about that.
- 24:33Speaker 4: That's not a good landscape i would like to be
- 24:36Speaker 4: in yeah that's the first thing i think of whenever
- 24:38Speaker 4: i hear a leak uh uh i mean talking about
- 24:42Speaker 4: what is it assange when it comes to wiki leaks
- 24:44Speaker 4: and all of that it's always weird when the truth
- 24:47Speaker 4: is illegal.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Yeah no that's a very good point i hadn't thought
- 24:50Speaker 3: about it that way but yeah absolutely All right. An
- 24:53Speaker 3: investigation is underway after a plane crashed in Volusia County.
- 24:56Speaker 3: A small plane carrying a banner went down yesterday morning
- 24:59Speaker 3: in the water off New Smyrna Beach. It landed upside down,
- 25:02Speaker 3: but thankfully the pilot was able to get out on
- 25:04Speaker 3: his own and is expected to survive. There's no word
- 25:07Speaker 3: on a cause, and the FAA and NTSB are investigating.
- 25:10Speaker 4: People were on the beach. It didn't hit anyone on
- 25:12Speaker 4: the beach.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Isn't that amazing?
- 25:13Speaker 7: A pilot walks away, but this plane is upside down,
- 25:16Speaker 7: like right where you would be going into the ocean.
- 25:19Speaker 4: And they were just dragging it out. I thought it
- 25:21Speaker 4: was GTA 6. I've done that move in GTA 6.
- 25:26Speaker 4: That's a Trevor move.
- 25:28Speaker 3: And there's some news about GTA. Oh, yeah, all the
- 25:30Speaker 3: GTA nerds losing their mind. All right, NASA's next major
- 25:34Speaker 3: space observatory is set for liftoff this Sunday morning. Did
- 25:37Speaker 3: you guys happen to see the lunar eclipse last night?
- 25:39Speaker 4: No. Yeah, same here. How about you, Ross? Nah.
- 25:42Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 25:43Speaker 4: All right.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Well, the Nancy Grace.
- 25:44Speaker 1: No, dog.
- 25:45Speaker 4: No, dog.
- 25:46Speaker 3: The Nancy Grace Roman or Roman Space Telescope is scheduled
- 25:50Speaker 3: to launch aboard.
- 25:51Speaker 4: Tot mom.
- 25:53Speaker 3: I'm Nancy Grace. I was like, no, not from like, no,
- 25:56Speaker 3: not that Nancy Grace.
- 25:57Speaker 4: It's not tot mom, Nancy Grace.
- 25:59Speaker 3: It's scheduled to launch aboard a SpaceX rocket from Kennedy
- 26:02Speaker 3: Space Center at 7.26 a.m.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Eastern Time.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Live coverage, however, will begin at 6.20. After launch, the
- 26:10Speaker 3: space telescope will spend about 30 days traveling to its
- 26:14Speaker 3: destination nearly a million miles from Earth.
- 26:17Speaker 7: Did you have in the news that SpaceX is no
- 26:22Speaker 7: longer launching space?
- 26:23Speaker 4: With the Falcon 9. What do you call it?
- 26:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it's getting rid of Falcon 9 and going to Starship.
- 26:32Speaker 4: What's the satellite? Their internet satellite. Oh, Starlink. Starlink, yeah.
- 26:36Speaker 7: They're no longer launching Starlink from Florida.
- 26:39Speaker 4: They're done.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Isn't that the craziest thing?
- 26:41Speaker 4: They did their last launch and they're like, oh, by
- 26:42Speaker 4: the way, that was the last time we're doing this.
- 26:44Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I've been trying to figure out because it
- 26:46Speaker 3: was such an abrupt decision. We went from literally talking
- 26:50Speaker 3: about SpaceX wanting to do thousands of launches.
- 26:53Speaker 2: A year from the Space Coast.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Now, news did break this week that SpaceX is now
- 26:58Speaker 3: building a $ 100 billion spaceport in Louisiana.
- 27:01Speaker 4: Like 10 launch pads in Louisiana.
- 27:03Speaker 3: So it's expected that all of that will move there. Now,
- 27:06Speaker 3: Jimmy and I were kind of talking about it, and
- 27:08Speaker 3: I said, this is weird. I mean, this was so abrupt.
- 27:11Speaker 3: What do you think led to this? We're wondering if
- 27:13Speaker 3: maybe all of the vibration from the launches and homes
- 27:16Speaker 3: starting to experience cracks in their walls and foundation is
- 27:19Speaker 3: may have been part of the reason to move it
- 27:21Speaker 3: to the bayous and the marshes of Louisiana.
- 27:23Speaker 4: The liability. The liability, but it was so abrupt.
- 27:26Speaker 7: Also, and maybe just being at that port to their
- 27:30Speaker 7: base in Texas, maybe it's just easier to transport stuff.
- 27:35Speaker 3: I don't know, but that was part of the reason
- 27:37Speaker 3: why Port Canaveral has not only faced so much pressure
- 27:40Speaker 3: from the cruise ship industry, but also from the space
- 27:43Speaker 3: industry for the barges bringing in rocket engines and stuff.
- 27:46Speaker 7: Maybe it was the potential lawsuits of the The damage
- 27:50Speaker 7: caused by launches and especially when they say when you're
- 27:53Speaker 7: talking a thousand launches in a year, that's three a day.
- 27:56Speaker 4: That's three a day. And they were doing like one
- 27:59Speaker 4: every three days.
- 28:00Speaker 3: I mean, and like, again, the only thing I could
- 28:02Speaker 3: think of, but there were someone had texted the other
- 28:05Speaker 3: day at 77031 talking about how folks are now being
- 28:08Speaker 3: laid off in Cape Canaveral. And that was one of
- 28:11Speaker 3: the shining spots in the central Florida economy was all
- 28:13Speaker 3: the boom that's going on in the Space Coast.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:16Speaker 2: So I don't know, but we'll keep our eye on that.
- 28:18Speaker 4: Oh, I got to stop drinking mead. Titusville always seems
- 28:22Speaker 4: to take it.
- 28:23Speaker 3: I know, and it's a shame, man. They've already did
- 28:25Speaker 3: after the shuttle program retired. Now you've got this bright
- 28:29Speaker 3: spot with SpaceX and Blue Origin, and now with SpaceX
- 28:32Speaker 3: pulling up stakes at the last minute.
- 28:35Speaker 7: I think they'll still have the big rocket there. Yeah,
- 28:37Speaker 7: Starship they'll still do. Yeah, it's just launching the Falcon
- 28:40Speaker 7: 9 for the Internet.
- 28:42Speaker 3: But that was the bread and butter, it seemed like,
- 28:44Speaker 3: on the Space Coast. The Space Telescope is expected to
- 28:49Speaker 3: begin its science mission in early 2027.
- 28:51Speaker 4: All right.
- 28:52Speaker 3: President Trump awarded the Congressional Space Medal of Honor to
- 28:56Speaker 3: the crew of NASA's Artemis II mission. took place at
- 28:59Speaker 3: the Johnson Space Center in Houston.
- 29:02Speaker 11: Today we're proudly awarding the Congressional Space Medal of Honor
- 29:06Speaker 11: to the remarkable crew of Artemis II.
- 29:10Speaker 3: So that was comprised of NASA astronauts Reid Weissman, Victor Glover,
- 29:14Speaker 3: and Christina Koch, along with Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Did he get one too?
- 29:19Speaker 3: We're the first humans to travel around the moon. Did
- 29:22Speaker 3: the Canadian get one?
- 29:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess so. Does he have to pay a
- 29:26Speaker 4: tariff on it?
- 29:26Speaker 2: He just pretended and said he was from Michigan.
- 29:29Speaker 3: In more than half a century on their 10-day mission,
- 29:31Speaker 3: they splashed down safely April 10th. Meanwhile, Trump has signed
- 29:34Speaker 3: an executive order creating a new military academy, the U.S.
- 29:38Speaker 4: Space Academy. Let's go. I support that. I do, too.
- 29:30Speaker 3: You know, sometimes I feel like a good American, and
- 29:33Speaker 3: then you find out that there's been a Space Medal
- 29:35Speaker 3: of Honor.
- 29:35Speaker 2: I think that's new.
- 29:58Speaker 4: No, I just looked it up. It is not. It's not?
- 30:01Speaker 4: It is not. It started in 69. There's been a
- 30:05Speaker 4: Space Medal of Honor.
- 30:07Speaker 7: What happened in 1969 where we would need a Space Medal.
- 30:11Speaker 4: Of Honor, Ross? Stop it, Jack. Oh, it's not me.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Yeah. Good year to be born.
- 30:18Speaker 3: History was also made in Miami at the 75th Miss
- 30:20Speaker 3: USA pageant. I'll just do this real quick before we
- 30:23Speaker 3: wrap it up. Justice Kelly of Virginia was crowned Miss...
- 30:27Speaker 3: USA 2026 becoming the first mother, first married woman, and
- 30:32Speaker 3: first woman in her 30s to ever win the national title.
- 30:36Speaker 4: All right.
- 30:36Speaker 3: The 31-year-old author and foster mother of two will represent
- 30:40Speaker 3: the United States on the global stage at the Miss
- 30:42Speaker 3: Universe pageant in San Juan, Puerto Rico this November. And
- 30:46Speaker 3: then finally, gentlemen, if you could take a road trip anywhere,
- 30:50Speaker 3: where do you think you should go?
- 30:52Speaker 4: Banff.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Oh, I'm with you on that one. I've never been,
- 30:55Speaker 3: but the photos you showed me alone. Think U.S., U.S.
- 30:58Speaker 4: Territory. Okay, Hawaii. Hawaii? It's going to– okay, Jack. It
- 31:04Speaker 4: could get soggy. You dreamer, you. It could get soggy.
- 31:07Speaker 4: All right, just because you're going with that. I'll go
- 31:09Speaker 4: with Alaska because I want to see the green stuff
- 31:11Speaker 4: in the sky.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Oh, the northern lights?
- 31:14Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:16Speaker 4: Aurora's boring Alice or something. Actually– Aurora's boring Alice. No,
- 31:22Speaker 4: you don't even know, man. Have you seen that one? Oh,
- 31:24Speaker 4: that's great. Yeah, I've been there. I live there. Okay,
- 31:30Speaker 4: not really.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Have you guys ever seen the Northern Lights?
- 31:33Speaker 4: No, but my brother has. All the time. You know why?
- 31:36Speaker 4: We have the internet. We see everything. There's no reason
- 31:39Speaker 4: to travel anywhere anymore.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Well, if you are going to take a road trip,
- 31:44Speaker 3: Memphis is getting some national spotlight as one of the
- 31:47Speaker 3: best places in the country to road trip.
- 31:49Speaker 4: Oh, why?
- 31:50Speaker 3: I don't know, but travel and leisure. This is not WalletHub.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Travel and leisure has named Memphis the best U.S. road
- 31:57Speaker 3: trip destination in a new ranking. It was just published
- 32:01Speaker 3: August 20th. The magazine looked at traffic congestion as part
- 32:04Speaker 3: of a broader study of U.S. vacation destinations. The magazine
- 32:08Speaker 3: also highlighted Beale Street and its live music scene, Memphis Barbecue,
- 32:14Speaker 3: and some of the city's most recognizable attractions, such as
- 32:18Speaker 3: the National Civil Rights Museum.
- 32:22Speaker 4: See, I need to see Memphis more. I have a
- 32:24Speaker 4: sister who lives there. All right, just look it up
- 32:25Speaker 4: on the internet. Thank you, Ross. Same thing, right? No
- 32:28Speaker 4: need to travel. That's right.
- 32:30Speaker 7: I have a sister who lives there, and now I
- 32:31Speaker 7: can see Memphis on the internet and not have to
- 32:34Speaker 7: go see my sister.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Perfect.
- 32:37Speaker 2: And that concludes your JCS News.
- 32:41Speaker 4: Take that, Ross. Definitely look up the Space Medal of Honor.
- 32:46Speaker 4: It's badass. Weirdest baseline ever. Ever. Ever. You guys got
- 32:52Speaker 4: to see this photo. This is the coolest medal of
- 32:55Speaker 4: all time. But we'll check that out while we take
- 32:58Speaker 4: a little break. But we'll be back. So keep it
- 33:00Speaker 4: right here on Real Radio 104.1.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show on Real Radio 104.1.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Hope you're having a great Friday afternoon.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Do have some stormy weather moving in, so give yourself
- 33:18Speaker 3: some little extra time on your way out of the
- 33:19Speaker 3: office today. Jim obviously not here today. He is off
- 33:23Speaker 3: hosting a big fancy event, but you've got Deb, Jack,
- 33:25Speaker 3: and Ross. And every Friday around this time, we like
- 33:28Speaker 3: to welcome our good friend.
- 33:29Speaker 4: Faiyaz Karr from the Orlando Weekly. Hello, Faiyaz!
- 33:32Speaker 8: Yay!
- 33:36Speaker 4: Hello, hello. Back in Canada where he belongs. Oh, there
- 33:39Speaker 4: you go. Enemy of America.
- 33:41Speaker 2: I wonder if they'll let him back in.
- 33:43Speaker 4: And Jim's not here, so someone has to, I guess,
- 33:45Speaker 4: say something like that. Yes. Making me feel so welcome.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Oh, you know, that's what we're known for here in Florida.
- 33:53Speaker 3: Before we get to your reviews of local eateries, I
- 33:55Speaker 3: want to let you know that Primetime Kitchen is always
- 33:58Speaker 3: brought to you by Tools Ace Hardware of Orlando. Shop
- 34:00Speaker 3: at Tools Ace Hardware for all your grill, hardware, home improvement,
- 34:04Speaker 3: lawn and garden needs and more.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Such a great store. Faiz, how are you doing.
- 34:08Speaker 4: My friend? Doing very well, Deb. How are you doing?
- 34:12Speaker 4: I am fat and sassy.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Looking forward to your restaurant reviews to maybe get a
- 34:19Speaker 3: little bit fatter.
- 34:20Speaker 4: Well, you know what? I don't have any reviews per
- 34:23Speaker 4: se this week. What news?
- 34:24Speaker 17: But I do have some news and some breaking news.
- 34:28Speaker 17: I always love to break news on the show, have
- 34:31Speaker 17: your audience be the very first to know.
- 34:34Speaker 4: The freshest leads. We love that too. Yeah, we do.
- 34:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:38Speaker 4: I know you do.
- 34:38Speaker 3: That really is the gift that keeps on giving.
- 34:45Speaker 4: I think he's been drinking, too. I think he has.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Have you been ripping the tipple of the mead like
- 34:49Speaker 3: my my gentleman friends here?
- 34:52Speaker 4: Excuse me. Oh, yeah.
- 34:56Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 34:57Speaker 2: That's a Canadian sized ripping of the tipple.
- 35:01Speaker 4: Rye. I think rye is very big up here. Is
- 35:03Speaker 4: it really? That's what we're drinking right now, rye. Really? Yeah,
- 35:06Speaker 4: but it's 13-year-old rye. Is it a rye? It's a mead.
- 35:10Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 35:12Speaker 4: Well, it's a rye whiskey that's been in a mead barrel. Yes. Oh, okay, okay. Yeah.
- 35:20Speaker 4: That'll give it a nice little honey notes. Very much so.
- 35:24Speaker 4: And I think it's a thousand proof because I'm– We're lit.
- 35:27Speaker 4: Multiple sheets to the wind. We're lit, buddy.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to– help me, Fayez.
- 35:31Speaker 4: Help me. That's the way I like it.
- 35:34Speaker 3: So one of the things that you sent in the
- 35:37Speaker 3: text message of what you wanted to talk about is
- 35:40Speaker 3: shocking to me, and I have a feeling it's going
- 35:43Speaker 3: to be equally shocking to our good friend Ross because
- 35:46Speaker 3: this is one of his favorite places.
- 35:48Speaker 4: What, what, what? Okay, okay. So, yes. So Divino, a
- 35:53Speaker 4: restaurant called Divino, is going to be replacing Pizza Bruno
- 35:59Speaker 4: in the Maitland Social. Oh, that one.
- 36:04Speaker 17: That's the part I neglected to add in the text message.
- 36:07Speaker 17: So the original Pizza Bruno staying there on Curry Ford.
- 36:11Speaker 17: But in Maitland Social, the Pizza Bruno that was in
- 36:14Speaker 17: there has closed. It closed last week in another place
- 36:17Speaker 17: called Divino, which is from the folks behind Grappolo Cucina
- 36:21Speaker 17: Italiana on Park Avenue in Winter Park.
- 36:23Speaker 2: You watch your language.
- 36:27Speaker 4: Yeah, they're going to be taking over.
- 36:29Speaker 17: So Bruno Zucchini, I know I talked to him last
- 36:31Speaker 17: week and asked him, hey, man, what happened?
- 36:33Speaker 4: Why did you close?
- 36:33Speaker 17: And he goes, you know, I tried to make it
- 36:35Speaker 17: work for two years, but I just couldn't make it
- 36:37Speaker 17: financially viable. So anyway, Divino is going to take over.
- 36:43Speaker 17: They're looking to open... They're looking to open September 1st,
- 36:46Speaker 17: very quickly. Yeah, pending final inspections. So look for them
- 36:49Speaker 17: to open. They're going to be using the very same oven.
- 36:52Speaker 17: Pizza Bruno left their oven in there, that gorgeous Fiero
- 36:55Speaker 17: Forney oven, that wood-fired oven to make.
- 36:58Speaker 4: It's the red one, right? The big red one? Yep,
- 37:02Speaker 4: the same one. brought it from Italy.
- 37:04Speaker 17: It's like, I don't know, weighs like a ton. You
- 37:06Speaker 17: need like a bunch of people to, you know, to
- 37:08Speaker 17: put it in. Yeah, we'll just.
- 37:09Speaker 4: Leave it there.
- 37:10Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 37:10Speaker 4: Everyone's like, okay, cool.
- 37:13Speaker 17: The funny thing is that Davino is also going to
- 37:15Speaker 17: be specializing in Neapolitan style pizzas.
- 37:17Speaker 4: Nice. So, So how they'll make it financially viable will
- 37:21Speaker 4: be interesting.
- 37:22Speaker 17: But they're also going to be serving a lot of
- 37:25Speaker 17: the favorites that they serve at Warpolo in Winter Park.
- 37:28Speaker 17: Things like their, you know, the antipasto platters and they
- 37:31Speaker 17: have like an octopus crostini and, you know, that tiramisu
- 37:34Speaker 17: and all that sort of stuff.
- 37:36Speaker 4: So, yeah, so it'll be interesting to see.
- 37:39Speaker 17: But their Neapolitan pizzas, you know, they're going for authenticity,
- 37:43Speaker 17: just like their restaurant in Winter Park. So you'll find
- 37:47Speaker 17: things like sausage and rapini pizzas. You'll have the bufalina,
- 37:52Speaker 17: which is the buffalo mozzarella pizzas.
- 37:57Speaker 4: So look for them to open, hopefully. next week in
- 38:00Speaker 4: the Maitland Social. Just because we're talking about Orlando pizza
- 38:04Speaker 4: right now, and I have a problem, because first and foremost,
- 38:08Speaker 4: they don't pay me to say this, but God knows
- 38:10Speaker 4: I've given them some free pub. Yeah, we know. I'm sorry, Jack,
- 38:14Speaker 4: but I love Black Magic Pizza, and it's very similar to,
- 38:18Speaker 4: and to be honest with you, I used to go
- 38:20Speaker 4: to Pizza Bruno all the time, and then I cut
- 38:22Speaker 4: back on my calories, and then all of a sudden
- 38:24Speaker 4: I was drunk one night. walked in, got a Black
- 38:27Speaker 4: Magic pizza, and then my life is back on the
- 38:29Speaker 4: calorie train. Do you have a favorite pizza, Neapolitan style,
- 38:36Speaker 4: at the very least within that little argument? Because I'll
- 38:40Speaker 4: be honest with you, you're splitting hairs. They're so good.
- 38:43Speaker 4: They're both high-quality pizzas. I just enjoy some of the offerings,
- 38:48Speaker 4: I think, over at Black Magic. I love mango and
- 38:51Speaker 4: habanero pizza. I want to try that. Now you have
- 38:53Speaker 4: that over there every now and then. Yeah, yeah, and Black.
- 38:56Speaker 17: Magic, the guy who runs a Travis with two S's
- 39:00Speaker 17: and his, I think, soon-to-be wife or maybe wife right now,
- 39:04Speaker 17: they also make an excellent, excellent pizza. I love Black
- 39:08Speaker 17: Magic pizza as well. If I'm downtown, I'll probably go there.
- 39:12Speaker 17: And if I want some of the more, I don't know,
- 39:15Speaker 17: unconventional toppings like Pizza Bruno was initially known for, I'll
- 39:19Speaker 17: go to Pizza Bruno. But they're on Curry 4 Road.
- 39:22Speaker 17: I live in Maitland, so I would go to the
- 39:25Speaker 17: Maitland Social all the time, and I would get Pizza
- 39:29Speaker 17: Bruno's New York style pizza, because they don't serve that
- 39:32Speaker 17: at the college park location or the.
- 39:34Speaker 4: Curry Ford location. Oh, wow. That was great. Yeah.
- 39:37Speaker 17: But yeah, Ross, but if you want to try a
- 39:41Speaker 17: Neapolitan style pizza that maybe you haven't, Got to travel
- 39:45Speaker 17: down to Lake Nona to a place called Piazza Italia.
- 39:48Speaker 17: Not Pizza Italia. Piazza Italia. They make an amazing, amazing
- 39:54Speaker 17: Neapolitan-style pizza. And they also do that Montanera pizza, which
- 39:57Speaker 17: is like a fried pizza.
- 39:58Speaker 4: Neapolitan pizza? Oh, my God. I've never even heard of that. What? Yeah, no, don't.
- 40:03Speaker 17: I don't think anyone is making it except them, and
- 40:05Speaker 17: they won't do it all the time. You kind of
- 40:08Speaker 17: have to be in the mood for it, but they
- 40:10Speaker 17: will deep fry that thing.
- 40:12Speaker 7: Speaking of pizza, have you heard of FM Pizza Oven
- 40:15Speaker 7: over in Melbourne?
- 40:18Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, I have. I have. They had, I think
- 40:20Speaker 4: they just won some, they got some sort of accolade recently, right?
- 40:24Speaker 7: Yeah, we were talking about it. And Jimmy said this
- 40:27Speaker 7: list is like noted pizza places globally. And FM Pizza
- 40:32Speaker 7: Oven came in. It's in like, you know, old O'Galley area,
- 40:36Speaker 7: downtown Melbourne. But I'd never heard of it before. And
- 40:40Speaker 7: it's like, I have to make it a stop the
- 40:42Speaker 7: next time I'm heading over there. I was just wondering
- 40:45Speaker 7: if you ever been. I have not been, but agreed.
- 40:47Speaker 7: Next time I'm in Melbourne, I'll pop by.
- 40:50Speaker 4: Awesome. Let's go, Jack. Let's go right now. I'm down.
- 40:53Speaker 4: I'm so down. Let's go.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Go ahead and slam back the rest of that whiskey,
- 40:56Speaker 3: and let's go for some FM pizza.
- 40:58Speaker 4: Bias, come pick me up. We should do it. Okay.
- 41:01Speaker 4: I'll be there in about 28 hours.
- 41:06Speaker 2: Well, in the meantime, what other food news do you
- 41:08Speaker 2: have for us here?
- 41:09Speaker 4: Okay, so we've got some downtown Orlando news. What? Reeve
- 41:13Speaker 4: Sports Bar. Reeve Sports Bar, yeah.
- 41:15Speaker 17: This is going to be at 50 East Central Boulevard, which,
- 41:19Speaker 17: you know, it's where Casey's on Central is.
- 41:21Speaker 4: Right, yeah.
- 41:22Speaker 17: It's going to be a new sports bar, and it's
- 41:23Speaker 17: from the same folks behind Lamp and Shade Craft Kitchen
- 41:27Speaker 17: and Terra. And Thrive Cocktail Bar and, funny enough, Packwoods
- 41:32Speaker 17: Bar inside the Maitland Social. Thriving Hospitality. This is their
- 41:35Speaker 17: newest concept, Reeves Sports Bar. It's named after Orlando Reeves, who,
- 41:41Speaker 17: you know, I guess the city of Orlando, the name
- 41:45Speaker 17: allegedly came from Orlando Reeves. I think it's an apocryphal
- 41:50Speaker 17: sort of story, but I don't know. Anyway, it's named
- 41:52Speaker 17: Reeves Sports Bar from the same folks behind Lamp and
- 41:56Speaker 17: Shade Craft Kitchen. Um, they're looking to open between like
- 42:00Speaker 17: in two to three weeks. So again, right around the
- 42:03Speaker 17: corner and it's going where swigs used to be. I
- 42:04Speaker 17: don't know if any of you guys went to swigs,
- 42:06Speaker 17: the bar right there next to Casey's.
- 42:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:10Speaker 13: Oh yeah.
- 42:11Speaker 4: Yeah. Ross probably. I have.
- 42:17Speaker 17: So he's a, so the chef there, Ryan Stewart, great chef,
- 42:20Speaker 17: super talented guy, super nice guy. He's doing, he's going
- 42:23Speaker 17: to do twists on classic pub fair. They'll have craft cocktails.
- 42:26Speaker 17: They'll obviously have beer. And they're looking to keep the
- 42:28Speaker 17: kitchen open possibly up until 2 a.m.
- 42:33Speaker 8: Wow.
- 42:33Speaker 4: Trying to get that business back into downtown, right? That's right.
- 42:37Speaker 4: That's right.
- 42:37Speaker 17: So they'll have a soft opening period. And then after
- 42:40Speaker 17: that soft opening period, they'll be opening.
- 42:42Speaker 4: They'll be open.
- 42:43Speaker 17: The kitchen will be open really late. So Reeve Sports Bar,
- 42:46Speaker 17: 50 East Central Boulevard, two to three weeks.
- 42:49Speaker 4: All right. Excellent.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Anything else you have on the docket for us?
- 42:53Speaker 17: Yeah, I wanted to talk about Garp and Fuss. So
- 42:55Speaker 17: Garp and Fuss, it's just off of Park Avenue in
- 42:57Speaker 17: that hidden garden where Maison de Crepe used to be,
- 42:59Speaker 17: really gorgeous space. They had to close because of a
- 43:02Speaker 17: kitchen fire, but they have reopened and they have new
- 43:06Speaker 17: temporary hours.
- 43:07Speaker 4: I believe it's Tuesday to Saturday from 4 to 11 p.m.
- 43:10Speaker 17: They'll have a limited menu and they'll have their full
- 43:13Speaker 17: bar as well. So go by, support them, check them out.
- 43:18Speaker 17: They're A fire is a terrible thing, especially for a
- 43:22Speaker 17: small sort of independent-run restaurant.
- 43:25Speaker 4: So if you're.
- 43:26Speaker 17: In the Park Avenue area, just pop by Garp and
- 43:29Speaker 17: Fuss and support them.
- 43:31Speaker 4: They have good food there.
- 43:32Speaker 2: For no other reason, just for the name.
- 43:35Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 43:35Speaker 4: Garp and Fuss.
- 43:37Speaker 3: Carbon fuss yeah i love that and then what were
- 43:40Speaker 3: you gonna say ross.
- 43:41Speaker 4: No no i just i have another pizza thing i'm
- 43:43Speaker 4: sorry i'm so hungry say black magic one more time
- 43:48Speaker 4: i'm coming across this table i'm not saying that but
- 43:51Speaker 4: you just did son of a bitch check me sebi's
- 43:54Speaker 4: pizza have you heard of it because i have heard
- 43:57Speaker 4: some love from sebi's pizza No, I have not heard
- 44:02Speaker 4: of Sebi's Pizza. All right. I'm on it. What, are
- 44:06Speaker 4: you going to send them one? No, I'm leaving. I
- 44:11Speaker 4: have heard of a.
- 44:11Speaker 17: Place called Seo Basilico, and I think it's this new
- 44:16Speaker 17: pizza joint that's come from Sao Paulo, Brazil. And I
- 44:19Speaker 17: think they're open in Winter Garden. Yeah, and they're doing, again,
- 44:23Speaker 17: they're doing like Neapolitan-style pies as well, but I have
- 44:26Speaker 17: not been. I think they just opened, so I'm not
- 44:28Speaker 17: sure if. CEO Silico is the same as Evo's pizza.
- 44:32Speaker 3: Well, we'll put you on the case for that for
- 44:34Speaker 3: next week. But then Magical Dining still going on.
- 44:38Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 44:39Speaker 17: I think it just started going on until September 30th. Oh,
- 44:43Speaker 17: you know, you know what I noticed that this this year,
- 44:46Speaker 17: apart from other years, is the number of independent restaurants
- 44:50Speaker 17: that appear on this list.
- 44:51Speaker 4: Which is fantastic, which is great.
- 44:53Speaker 17: Cause I've always said, you know, most of those restaurants
- 44:55Speaker 17: that are on there are like hotel restaurants, right?
- 44:57Speaker 4: Corporate run restaurants. So it's great.
- 45:00Speaker 17: It's really great to see a lot of independent run restaurants.
- 45:02Speaker 17: What I don't like is that, you know, you have to,
- 45:05Speaker 17: you have to be a member of visit Orlando. You
- 45:07Speaker 17: have to play, you have to pay your dues and,
- 45:09Speaker 17: and then you got to pay like a $ 500 marketing
- 45:12Speaker 17: fee to be a part of magical dining. And then
- 45:14Speaker 17: you have to give, and then you have to give
- 45:16Speaker 17: like gift free gift cards. And then you have to,
- 45:19Speaker 17: Of course, donate $ 1 to $ 2, depending on whether you
- 45:22Speaker 17: have a $ 40 or $ 60.
- 45:24Speaker 4: Menu, to the charity. And my thing has always been
- 45:27Speaker 4: that the independent restaurants themselves should be the charity. They're
- 45:30Speaker 4: the ones who are struggling.
- 45:31Speaker 17: That's why you're having magical dining during this period where
- 45:35Speaker 17: there's It's sort of like a low period for restaurants.
- 45:38Speaker 4: Yes.
- 45:39Speaker 17: The whole idea behind this thing is to support restaurants.
- 45:42Speaker 17: So why are you making them pay all this money
- 45:44Speaker 17: that they probably don't even have or can't afford? Why
- 45:48Speaker 17: are they making– give the money back to them and
- 45:52Speaker 17: actually support restaurants. Visit Orlando gets enough taxpayer money, I imagine.
- 45:57Speaker 4: They don't need more.
- 45:58Speaker 2: No, they can always use more.
- 46:00Speaker 4: Yeah, they can always use more, I guess.
- 46:01Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 46:03Speaker 4: I meant that very, very, very much facetiously.
- 46:05Speaker 3: But I know Jimmy was mentioning earlier when the list
- 46:08Speaker 3: of restaurants came out how impressive it was to see
- 46:11Speaker 3: the numbers. And then, like you said, Fayez, the different
- 46:14Speaker 3: restaurants that are there and how going to Magical Dining
- 46:17Speaker 3: this year, there's kind of been a vibe change where
- 46:20Speaker 3: restaurants are excited to introduce folks to these prefixed menu options.
- 46:26Speaker 4: That they offer.
- 46:27Speaker 2: So it seems like it's been real popular this year.
- 46:30Speaker 7: I think they started to realize that it is bringing
- 46:32Speaker 7: new people into their restaurant. And, you know, it's you know,
- 46:36Speaker 7: it there is a trickle down benefit to having this. And,
- 46:40Speaker 7: you know, that lasts beyond the month of Magical Dining.
- 46:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 46:44Speaker 3: And it's a great opportunity for date nights. Like Jack said,
- 46:47Speaker 3: you know, go check out a restaurant. Maybe you have
- 46:49Speaker 3: never been willing to maybe go to before, but now
- 46:52Speaker 3: it makes it more affordable.
- 46:53Speaker 4: Yeah, go out and support them.
- 46:55Speaker 17: And to visit Orlando, stop charging the independent restaurants these
- 46:59Speaker 17: outrageous fees and fares.
- 47:00Speaker 4: That's it. Let's let them be in the program.
- 47:03Speaker 2: You heard it from the Canadian yourself, Faiz.
- 47:05Speaker 4: Yeah. Such a socialist. Yeah, exactly. Hey, enjoy the rest
- 47:10Speaker 4: of your weekend.
- 47:11Speaker 3: And if you do a road trip or whatever, hopefully
- 47:13Speaker 3: you'll enjoy Lake America.
- 47:15Speaker 4: Oh, my God. It's been a very important lesson, I think,
- 47:21Speaker 4: for Canadians. They love.
- 47:25Speaker 17: Being a pedophile and a rapist does not preclude you
- 47:28Speaker 17: from being an idiot.
- 47:29Speaker 4: I think that's what Canadians have learned. My lesson is
- 47:32Speaker 4: don't give an American a Sharpie. It goes right to
- 47:39Speaker 4: our head.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Well, thank you, Fayez.
- 47:42Speaker 4: It says permanent on it. It does say permanent. It does.
- 47:45Speaker 3: So we hope to see you again soon, Fayez. In
- 47:48Speaker 3: the meantime, have a great weekend.
- 47:49Speaker 4: You too, guys. All right.
- 47:51Speaker 2: We'll see you soon.
- 47:53Speaker 4: Faya's car. Put your hands together. Yay.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Can't let him go without hearing his clap.
- 47:58Speaker 4: All right.
- 47:58Speaker 3: We're going to take a quick break. When we come back,
- 47:59Speaker 3: we're going to stay on the food news kind of thing.
- 48:03Speaker 3: I need you guys during the break to think of
- 48:04Speaker 3: the worst food collaboration you could ever come up with.
- 48:08Speaker 4: Got it.
- 48:09Speaker 6: Done.
- 48:09Speaker 3: That's your homework. We'll talk about it next. So keep
- 48:11Speaker 3: it here on the Jim Colbert Show on Real Radio 104.1.
- 48:13Speaker 3: Thanks for joining us.

- 48:46Speaker 4: Hey, Colbert crew.
- 48:48Speaker 15: Calling all the way in from your neighboring state, Canada.
- 48:53Speaker 15: Just wanted to say Rod Stewart was with the Faces
- 48:57Speaker 15: in the late 60s, early 70s with Jeff Beck.
- 49:01Speaker 4: Then he went on to do a solo career. And
- 49:04Speaker 4: here's a little trivia for you. Okay.
- 49:06Speaker 15: He was an English soccer player prior to his music career.
- 49:14Speaker 1: I remembered.
- 49:16Speaker 4: Okay, so how.
- 49:18Speaker 4: The trivia was that... he was an english soccer player.
- 49:21Speaker 3: Yeah and apparently he's obsessed with two things in his
- 49:25Speaker 3: older age football soccer yeah and the other one do
- 49:28Speaker 3: you know cars model trains oh apparently what led to
- 49:33Speaker 3: one of his last divorces.
- 49:35Speaker 4: Oh he reminds me of my brother let's see what
- 49:38Speaker 4: t-bag has to say I remembered. Okay.
- 49:42Speaker 5: Okay, so how is it this week?
- 49:45Speaker 6: We have lost so many great icons in the world.
- 49:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:51Speaker 6: Dolly Parton, Tim Curry, Peter Cullen, Bonnie Rae is in there,
- 49:59Speaker 6: and a bunch of other people.
- 50:01Speaker 4: What are we doing, bud? How is Mick Jagger alive?
- 50:04Speaker 2: Oh, he made a deal with the devil.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Good afternoon, Colbert Carew.
- 50:09Speaker 4: Okay, Ross, you're going to have to put the Northern
- 50:11Speaker 4: Lights on your bucket list. And no, not the weed train.
- 50:14Speaker 4: I've actually been up to Canada when I was 14.
- 50:16Speaker 1: Got to go sailing with my aunt and uncle in
- 50:18Speaker 1: the North Channel for almost two months.
- 50:20Speaker 4: It was amazing.
- 50:21Speaker 1: And seeing the Northern Lights was unreal.
- 50:24Speaker 4: But speaking of Canada, hey, Deb.
- 50:26Speaker 8: Yes?
- 50:26Speaker 4: How do you get a Canadian to apologize to you?
- 50:29Speaker 4: I don't know, eh? Well, you just step on their foot.
- 50:32Speaker 4: Big T out. Ha ha ha! A little delay there.
- 50:38Speaker 2: Should not have taken me that long.
- 50:40Speaker 4: It took me that long as well. Usually it's a
- 50:44Speaker 4: play on words, but it's really just a shot at
- 50:47Speaker 4: an attribute.
- 50:48Speaker 2: I know, it is.
- 50:50Speaker 4: That's okay.
- 50:52Speaker 3: Canadians know they're nice and they're going to stay that way.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show, Real Radio 104.1.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Hope you're having a fabulous Friday.
- 50:59Speaker 4: Woo-hoo!
- 51:00Speaker 3: Almost time to say sayonara to the office if you
- 51:03Speaker 3: are heading out the... door in the next couple of minutes,
- 51:05Speaker 3: just be aware we do have some really stormy weather
- 51:08Speaker 3: getting ready to move into the central Florida area, basically
- 51:11Speaker 3: draping right across I-4 as convenient as that is, along
- 51:14Speaker 3: with an airport weather warning. So if you're going to
- 51:16Speaker 3: be taking a flight or you're picking someone up from
- 51:18Speaker 3: the airport, definitely check that flight status before you try
- 51:23Speaker 3: and make that drive. So before the break, guys, I
- 51:26Speaker 3: had asked you to do a little bit of homework.
- 51:29Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 51:30Speaker 3: To come up with the worst food collaboration you could
- 51:34Speaker 3: think of. So do you have any idea what I'm
- 51:37Speaker 3: talking about?
- 51:39Speaker 4: When you're mixing two well-known items? Yes.
- 51:42Speaker 3: So think of like a snack food and a fast food.
- 51:45Speaker 3: That's the angle that we're going at here.
- 51:48Speaker 4: Snack food, fast food. Like Doritos on a chicken sandwich. Oh,
- 51:52Speaker 4: that's not bad. No, that works. Yeah, I know. But that's...
- 51:56Speaker 4: That's kind of the idea. That's kind of the idea.
- 51:58Speaker 4: But you want the bad version of that.
- 52:00Speaker 3: Just what you just could not ever imagine ever in
- 52:03Speaker 3: a million years working.
- 52:04Speaker 4: Chocolate ketchup.
- 52:06Speaker 2: You got one of them right.
- 52:07Speaker 4: Whoa. You got one of them right. Ketchup. Ranch.
- 52:12Speaker 6: Ranch.
- 52:13Speaker 4: Chocolate ranch. Little black and white. How about....
- 52:19Speaker 3: A collaboration between America's favorite cookie, Oreo, and a fast.
- 52:27Speaker 4: Food chicken chain. Kentucky Fried Chicken. You nailed it. Yeah.
- 52:32Speaker 4: Chicken flavored Oreos? Fried chicken Oreos?
- 52:34Speaker 3: Well, they did come out with a cookie first. It's
- 52:38Speaker 3: only available in China. We can all thank our lucky stars.
- 52:42Speaker 4: Well, no, now I want to be Chinese.
- 52:44Speaker 3: Well, it features KFC branded chocolate cookies sandwiched between a
- 52:49Speaker 3: chicken flavored cream.
- 52:51Speaker 4: I'm out. I'm back to being American.
- 52:54Speaker 2: And then today.
- 52:55Speaker 8: Yes.
- 52:56Speaker 3: KFC locations in China debuted the Oreo flavored chicken sandwich.
- 53:01Speaker 2: Would you like to hear what that comes with?
- 53:03Speaker 9: Sure.
- 53:04Speaker 7: KFC always does the out-of-the-box stuff. They had the fire
- 53:07Speaker 7: log that smelled like fried chicken.
- 53:09Speaker 3: They had the bath bomb that made you smell like
- 53:11Speaker 3: the 28 herbs and spices.
- 53:14Speaker 4: And what I'm finding out is apparently, especially the Chinese KFCs. Well,
- 53:19Speaker 4: they're Burger King.
- 53:20Speaker 3: Remember, like, years ago, they had, like, the black buns
- 53:22Speaker 3: with the volcanic ash in there and all kinds of craziness? Well,
- 53:26Speaker 3: China's like, hold my KFC. The Oreo-flavored chicken sandwich starts
- 53:31Speaker 3: with a breaded chicken thigh and lettuce.
- 53:34Speaker 4: Okay.
- 53:36Speaker 3: Now, instead of the chain's typical bread, this sandwich comes
- 53:39Speaker 3: with Oreo flavored buns.
- 53:41Speaker 4: Okay. I'm interested. I think I want to try it.
- 53:45Speaker 3: That are tinted black and stamped with an image of
- 53:49Speaker 3: the cookie.
- 53:50Speaker 4: Okay.
- 53:51Speaker 3: Inside the chicken sandwich, KFC is adding a layer of
- 53:55Speaker 3: mashed potatoes coated in crushed Oreo pieces.
- 54:00Speaker 4: I don't hate this. I mean, I got to get
- 54:03Speaker 4: a couple of beers and a couple of like, let's go.
- 54:07Speaker 4: Then I'll take a bite, you know, like I got
- 54:09Speaker 4: to get myself hyped up a little bit. I mean,
- 54:11Speaker 4: it goes without saying it has to be your cheat day. Well,
- 54:14Speaker 4: I mean. Actually, only 200 calories. No, it's obviously 4,000.
- 54:20Speaker 4: I don't know what it is, but it's a lot.
- 54:22Speaker 3: I mean, I know like the savory and the sweet
- 54:25Speaker 3: really works together, right?
- 54:26Speaker 2: Generally savory and sweet.
- 54:28Speaker 3: And obviously this has to go through some test kitchens
- 54:30Speaker 3: before they're going to put it out to the market.
- 54:32Speaker 4: And you're no longer a sweet girl, right? You're not
- 54:35Speaker 4: a sweet lady. You don't like desserts.
- 54:38Speaker 3: No, not as much. No, definitely not. Definitely more on
- 54:41Speaker 3: the savory end. So this, I think I would, would
- 54:44Speaker 3: you try the sandwich over the cookie?
- 54:46Speaker 4: No, I would try the cookie first.
- 54:47Speaker 2: You'd try the cookie, even though it's got the chicken-flavored.
- 54:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm down with that. I get that.
- 54:53Speaker 2: Jack, how about you?
- 54:53Speaker 4: Would you do the cookie or the sandwich first? I
- 54:56Speaker 4: think the sandwich. And why does that sound dirty?
- 54:57Speaker 2: You'd do the sandwich?
- 54:58Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 54:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I would do the sandwich as well.
- 55:01Speaker 3: But I don't think I could eat the whole sandwich.
- 55:03Speaker 3: I'd have to just cut off a little edge there.
- 55:05Speaker 4: I'd try anything, but... I mean, I try a lot
- 55:08Speaker 4: of stuff. I wouldn't try anything. But I won't do that.
- 55:12Speaker 4: Meatloaf reference. Come on, guys. Come on, absolutely. I know.
- 55:16Speaker 3: By the way, a lot of people texting us at
- 55:19Speaker 3: 77031 saying that Oreo has a chicken and waffle flavor
- 55:23Speaker 3: in grocery stores right now.
- 55:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm about it. I can do that. I can
- 55:27Speaker 4: dance on that dance floor.
- 55:29Speaker 7: We have a couple unique Oreo flavors out here because someone–
- 55:33Speaker 7: Angel and the Monsters has a connection. Angel also has
- 55:37Speaker 7: an obsession with Oreos.
- 55:39Speaker 4: Okay, I've heard that.
- 55:40Speaker 7: And so because of that, and it's kind of the
- 55:42Speaker 7: nature of this job, when you talk about something that
- 55:45Speaker 7: you have an affinity for, people who can or have
- 55:48Speaker 7: those connections will feed that vice. And whenever there's a
- 55:53Speaker 7: unique flavor for Oreos– They end up here at the
- 55:56Speaker 7: radio station, so we all get to try it. And legit,
- 55:59Speaker 7: over the last, I don't know, eight years, I think
- 56:02Speaker 7: I've tried upwards to 50 different types of Oreos.
- 56:06Speaker 8: Really?
- 56:06Speaker 7: They leaned into this thing. I mean, it used to
- 56:09Speaker 7: be Oreos regular or double stuffed.
- 56:11Speaker 4: That was it.
- 56:12Speaker 7: When they caught on to this flavor thing, I mean,
- 56:14Speaker 7: we just tried apple pie a la mode Oreos.
- 56:16Speaker 4: Okay, so how are they? They're great.
- 56:19Speaker 8: They're good.
- 56:19Speaker 4: They taste like apple pie.
- 56:20Speaker 2: Okay, so you're like, oh, they're all right.
- 56:21Speaker 4: And then the other one was Toffee Crunch, which was
- 56:24Speaker 4: also like a... I gave them both sixes.
- 56:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:26Speaker 4: A couple of sixes.
- 56:27Speaker 16: I agree.
- 56:28Speaker 4: All right, that's good. But this is the problem with
- 56:30Speaker 4: having Angel as a friend.
- 56:31Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 56:32Speaker 4: I eat too many cookies. And you could tell Angel
- 56:36Speaker 4: was just in a room because there's so many cookies.
- 56:40Speaker 4: And I eat all these different ones. We had an
- 56:42Speaker 4: Astro Glide one, Pop one.
- 56:45Speaker 9: Sorry.
- 56:45Speaker 4: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Yeah, no. You know what I meant?
- 56:48Speaker 4: Astro Pop. We have an Astro Pop Oreo, not an
- 56:51Speaker 4: Astro Pop Oreo. That's a whole different kind of pop.
- 56:54Speaker 4: I mean, it's edible for a reason, but.
- 56:58Speaker 4: You don't want to just drink it.
- 57:00Speaker 15: Nasty.
- 57:01Speaker 4: Or the Astro Glide of Oreo. It would be tough
- 57:03Speaker 4: to have the cookies actually stay on the cream. Or
- 57:07Speaker 4: the cream to stay on the cookies. Not, yeah. Okay.
- 57:12Speaker 2: Before this devolves any further.
- 57:13Speaker 3: So from the I'm not really sure where that collab
- 57:16Speaker 3: came from to this, this is really good news in
- 57:19Speaker 3: the food world. And it makes me wonder why it
- 57:21Speaker 3: literally almost took an act of Congress for food companies
- 57:24Speaker 3: to listen.
- 57:25Speaker 4: But anyway. Is lettuce finally putting it back together?
- 57:28Speaker 3: Well, it depends on where you read. By the way,
- 57:31Speaker 3: I took my chances today with a Greek protein bowl.
- 57:34Speaker 3: Thank God it was all kale and everything. But I'll
- 57:36Speaker 3: let you know next week.
- 57:37Speaker 2: General Mills.
- 57:38Speaker 4: That's a tonight thing. Yeah, or actually a couple of
- 57:41Speaker 4: weeks away.
- 57:42Speaker 3: So General Mills is removing artificial colors from all of
- 57:46Speaker 3: its cereals.
- 57:47Speaker 4: Yay!
- 57:49Speaker 3: So the company says brands like Lucky Charms and Trix
- 57:52Speaker 3: are now available without... Synthetic color additives. General Mills also
- 57:57Speaker 3: said that 90% of its U.S. products have transitioned away
- 58:02Speaker 3: from artificial colors, and it remains on track to complete
- 58:07Speaker 3: the removal of artificial colors from all of its U.S.
- 58:10Speaker 3: retail products by the end of 2027. They're saying they're
- 58:13Speaker 3: using berries and turmeric, spices, natural flavors to get those
- 58:19Speaker 3: colors instead of doing the red dye number 40 and
- 58:21Speaker 3: everything else.
- 58:22Speaker 4: Right.
- 58:22Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's really good news.
- 58:26Speaker 7: But the spices are also adding flavor.
- 58:30Speaker 3: That's where I'm a little like it's going to be
- 58:32Speaker 3: interesting to see where they may use turmeric because, like
- 58:36Speaker 3: you said, that makes its presence known.
- 58:40Speaker 4: But it's also good for you, right? It's so good
- 58:43Speaker 4: for you. Anti-inflammatory. Oh, yeah, so good for you. Absolutely. Yeah,
- 58:46Speaker 4: but it tastes like the inside of my stomach.
- 58:48Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 58:49Speaker 6: Ew.
- 58:50Speaker 4: I know. That's what I'm saying.
- 58:51Speaker 8: Ew.
- 58:51Speaker 4: I don't know. Turmeric is a little weird for me.
- 58:54Speaker 2: It can be, depending on how you like. In some drinks,
- 58:56Speaker 2: you're like, yeah, no.
- 58:58Speaker 4: It tastes like the color yellow. I don't know how
- 59:00Speaker 4: else to put it. Wouldn't that be lemon?
- 59:03Speaker 5: No.
- 59:04Speaker 16: Urine.
- 59:05Speaker 6: Oh.
- 59:06Speaker 4: Lemon tastes kind of like angry glitter. If you squint,
- 59:13Speaker 4: you can see where I'm getting. No, absolutely.
- 59:15Speaker 3: I really appreciate your take on that, actually.
- 59:19Speaker 2: That's really interesting.
- 59:20Speaker 4: It's pretty accurate. I think people are getting it.
- 59:23Speaker 3: But I think for parents who are worried about, you know,
- 59:27Speaker 3: it's bad enough. You don't want to have to give
- 59:28Speaker 3: your kids sugary cereals. At least if they're eating something
- 59:31Speaker 3: like Lucky Charms, you know, they're also not getting the
- 59:33Speaker 3: artificial dyes.
- 59:34Speaker 4: Dude, man, I got to get better with my kid
- 59:37Speaker 4: on what he eats and what he consumes.
- 59:40Speaker 8: 100%.
- 59:40Speaker 7: And you need to start that like yesterday because what...
- 59:45Speaker 7: What you instill in him now is what he will
- 59:47Speaker 7: be dealing with for the rest of his life and
- 59:49Speaker 7: you as a parent until he moves out. But for
- 59:52Speaker 7: the rest of his life, that is going to set
- 59:55Speaker 7: the foundation for his eating habits. And if you're not
- 59:59Speaker 7: providing fresh fruit now and all the good things that
- 1:00:03Speaker 7: he can learn to like.
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: At this age.
- 1:00:06Speaker 7: Those are the choices he'll make moving forward. So if
- 1:00:08Speaker 7: you're giving him crap now, those are the choices he'll
- 1:00:11Speaker 7: make moving forward as well.
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: I got good news and bad news there for you,
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: Papa Jack. Yeah, what do you got? The good news
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: is that he eats all the fruits. He eats all
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: the vegetables. Okay, good. The bad news is that he
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: also eats whatever I leave out.
- 1:00:25Speaker 12: Oh!
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: Sometimes that's just like... You know, like a deep fried
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: chicken sandwich or something. Or like a week ago, I
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: left out like, I don't know, 20% left of Starbucks.
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: My man was zooming.
- 1:00:41Speaker 7: I'm not going to say you're a bad dad. I'm
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: just going to say you're a bad human being.
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: Jack! But he said I'm not a bad dad. We'll
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: take that win. Are you guys ready to do Whiskey
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: of the Week? It was just like a couple of
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: drops of coffee. I just want to clarify. It wasn't 20%.
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: All right? It wasn't a day old or anything.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: You guys ready to do Whiskey of the Week?
- 1:01:04Speaker 6: Sure.
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: Well, we're going to do that next. So tune in.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: You're going to want to keep it here, actually, and
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: see if these guys can make it through the next segment.
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: How much left of your whiskey do you have? Did
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: you hear that first noise you made? I did. I
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: don't know. Sometimes why?
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: So keep it here on Real Radio 104.1. We'll do
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: that next.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: I think I would grind the Oreo cookies up, use
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: them as the breading for the chicken.
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: Oh, okay. That way, no matter what, nobody knows if
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: it's burned.
- 1:01:41Speaker 9: Genius.
- 1:01:42Speaker 6: Solid.
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: So you know what to do. Grind up the Oreo cookies.
- 1:01:45Speaker 12: Right.
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: Use them as breading for the chicken. Spend the rest
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: of your day explaining to the customers, no, that ain't burnt. Okay.
- 1:01:54Speaker 14: So I totally misunderstood the assignment. My brain went immediately
- 1:01:59Speaker 14: to kimchi-flavored eggnog. Those are both things I love but
- 1:02:05Speaker 14: would never eat them at the same sitting place.
- 1:02:10Speaker 8: Well, today I learned that Rod Stewart was probably an
- 1:02:14Speaker 8: undiagnosed autist for his entire life due to his obsession
- 1:02:18Speaker 8: with model trains. Anyone I know that's ever been diagnosed
- 1:02:22Speaker 8: with autism is always, always fascinated and addicted to model trains.
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: And flushing toilets for some reason. Oh, no. Is that
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: going in circles? Man, I've always wanted a train.
- 1:02:40Speaker 7: Model train set, and I always thought in my future
- 1:02:43Speaker 7: I would have that little train village.
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: Yeah, but the stigma. Not at all. I didn't know
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: it had any links with autism. It's a stereotype and
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: a very broad generalization, and only a Sith speaks in absolutes,
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: but yes, that stereotype exists. Someone accused me of being autistic. Really?
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: They think I'm like level one autistic.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: I've been told I'm like... probably on the spectrum with
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: the OCD thing.
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: Do you think we might?
- 1:03:14Speaker 7: Well, I guess everyone's on the spectrum and that's why
- 1:03:17Speaker 7: it's a spectrum.
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: You know, it goes from, you know, one. Yeah.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: I mean, but we were like, uh, dude, Jim only
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: calls me an idiot. I mean, I do think we're
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: like a gen X first generation. That might be the
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: ones having microplastics showing up in our systems. Boomers didn't
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: have that much access to plastic in their lives.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: And, We have no idea how that's affecting us.
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: They did get the lead exposure, though.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: They did. They did, absolutely. And asbestos as well.
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: Isn't it fun? Every generation has their own toxic little plague.
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: What's your toxic problem? Exactly. Plastic.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show on Real Radio 104.1. Again,
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: we do have some really nasty weather. Can you guys
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: hear it raining sideways against the windows out here?
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: Let me turn off the music.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: Thank you, Ross.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: It sounds like a leak. It does, doesn't it? Yeah,
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: from the sky. With a chipped tooth. It's his dentures, y'all.
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: It's his dentures, y'all.
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: Real quick, I hope you guys have your tickets for
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: tomorrow night. We've got 14 sketches happening at the Mount
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: Dora Music Hall, courtesy of Ross and Joel, putting on
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: the best sketches from their two friend shows. If you
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: haven't had the opportunity yet, To see these guys do
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: this kind of sketch comedy, it is... I'm going to
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: apologize right now because you're going.
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: To hear me laugh. Yeah, oh, that's good. You have
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: a great laugh. I have a very loud laugh. I
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: remember when I first, like, we hit, boom, 1.0, rough draft.
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: And I went, we basically wrote a show for Deb.
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: It's so perfect for Deb. It's immature, but this is
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: the one thing I'll always say about good comedy and my,
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: I don't know, dumb comedy, I think, in general. You
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: can do dumb comedy wrong. With intelligence. Yeah, absolutely. You
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: can do smart comedy poorly, and you can also do
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: dumb comedy correctly. And I know, I'm confident, we do comedy,
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: dumb comedy, correctly tomorrow night in Mount Tora.
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: And if you have not had the chance to see it,
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: you can still get your tickets, realradio.fm slash comedy or rosscomedy.com.
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll be there. I'll be there as well.
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: So I hope we're going to see you there as well,
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: where we can have a libation or two to prepare
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: for 14 sketches. Speaking of a libation or two, let's
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: do Whiskey of the Week.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: Forward slash distillery and blending house present Whiskey of the Week.
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: On the Jim Colbert Show. Gentlemen. That drumbeat means only
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: one thing. You're out. Time for Whiskey of the Week.
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: Holton Capon special release.
- 1:06:05Speaker 7: 13-year-old rye whiskey aged in Marion Berry's house.
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: Every time you guys make a mistake, you have to
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: take a sip. Jack, take a sip. Ross, take a sip.
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: What was the mistake? No, I heard it, too. You
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: heard it.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: Yeah, you heard it.
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: We're not killing it with our R's right now, Jack. Rye. Rye.
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: 13-year-old rye whiskey. Back to one. Jack, here we go.
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: Holton Capon special release. The 13-year-old rye whiskey aged in
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: Mary and Barry mead barrels. How about that? It's got
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: two flavors, and this is... What do you think? This
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: is strong as hell, man. This is rocket fuel. I
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: don't need to read the piece of paper to let
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: you know. If you want to go ahead and kiss
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: the moon, you get this mead rye whiskey. Do you
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: taste the honey notes from being in a mead barrel?
- 1:07:02Speaker 8: Yes.
- 1:07:03Speaker 7: You definitely can. Even I can taste that. That flavor
- 1:07:06Speaker 7: is there. But now here's the deal. So you got
- 1:07:08Speaker 7: to pump the brakes on this because this whiskey sold
- 1:07:10Speaker 7: out in two days.
- 1:07:11Speaker 6: Whoa.
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: It was bottled exclusively for steelbacks.
- 1:07:15Speaker 7: Not only is it extremely old age or a rye whiskey,
- 1:07:19Speaker 7: but the unique finishing in the barrel put this one
- 1:07:22Speaker 7: over the top. However, they're going to make more. So
- 1:07:24Speaker 7: about the barrel, I had no idea that there was
- 1:07:28Speaker 7: a meadery on Mills Avenue.
- 1:07:30Speaker 11: Oh, yeah.
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: Did you know that? And how about this? I know
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: about this meadery. World-renowned mead coming out of, I'm going
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: to try, I believe it's pronounced Zimerium.
- 1:07:41Speaker 7: Zimerium Meadery on Mills Ave. It's one of the most
- 1:07:44Speaker 7: prolific and awarded meaderies in the world.
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: Wow, that's quite a feather in our Central Florida cap.
- 1:07:50Speaker 7: I had no idea Joe and Ginger Lee create not
- 1:07:53Speaker 7: only a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere in their tasting room,
- 1:07:56Speaker 7: they also produce some incredible unique needs, focusing on quality
- 1:08:01Speaker 7: over quantity, creative expressions, and are heavily focused on on
- 1:08:06Speaker 7: bee conservation as well.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: Yay! How about that?
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: That is awesome.
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: So the barrel age in.
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: You're trying to do this so carefully, Jack. I got
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: to give you credit for that.
- 1:08:18Speaker 7: Mary and Barry Mead, and when they're finished with it,
- 1:08:21Speaker 7: they age their rye in it. So forward slash, got
- 1:08:25Speaker 7: the barrel... and they're aging their rye in it. So
- 1:08:29Speaker 7: they're doing a different mead barrel-finished bourbon. That'll be coming
- 1:08:32Speaker 7: out in November, also in partnership with Zmarium.
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: And you know, another reason to support forward slash distillery
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: and blending house... is because not only is that a
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: local company, but they honor the local history, right? Their
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: Holton Capon is named after the roads of some of
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: the founders of Winter Park.
- 1:08:52Speaker 7: And also, those are the roads where Forward Slash is.
- 1:08:56Speaker 7: Where they're located.
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: It's really cool. And to have them support a local media...
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: That meadery hasn't been open that long, though, has it?
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: I think I remember when they moved in.
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: I would say maybe five years. Six years could be longer.
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: But I know the first time I heard about it
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: was five years ago. I had no idea.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: Yeah, because I was like, wow, mead's coming back.
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: Well, in some ways, mead never left.
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: There you go.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: Because like you said, Ross, it's an ancient drink.
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: It is ancient. I said it earlier, and I double-checked
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: it as soon as I said it because I was like,
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: was that factually correct? And it is. It's older than
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: the wheel. That's how long mead has been around. The
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: 1.0 rough draft of a wheel that got modernized. Yeah,
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: we've been drinking mead before that. Matter of fact, that's
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: how they got that idea. It's like, I got an idea.
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: Why don't it just go? It goes around. There you go, Jack.
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: In honor of the mead and the what's the name?
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: It's Holton Capon.
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: Special release. Yeah. So this is sold out. They're 13
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: year old rye whiskey. This one sold out.
- 1:09:59Speaker 7: However, they're doing this again and they'll have a new, uh,
- 1:10:04Speaker 7: one coming out in November and throw.
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: This out here. I know it's sold out. Why are
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: you guys talking about something that's sold out? Well, let
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: me point to this segment as smoking gun evidence, why
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: you need to get on board because these are small releases.
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: The exclusivity, the exclusivity is such a fun thing. part
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: of pursuing elite spirits and i'm here to tell you
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: man if you are a central floridian listening to this
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: we are lucky we are lucky to have someone two
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: guys commit their life and choose orlando to become a
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: blend house and forward slash so i know it's sold
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: out but get on board it's it's the fun part
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: about it there's only 100 bottles released only 200 bottles released.
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: Not only that with it coming out in november it's
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: going to be out just in time for a perfect
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: holiday gift.
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I am a huge fan of
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: Forward Slash. I'll be, yeah, I am in love.
- 1:11:00Speaker 7: Well, you can also go to their website, drinkforwardslash.com, or
- 1:11:04Speaker 7: follow them on Instagram. Do both, at drinkforwardslash. It's great,
- 1:11:10Speaker 7: a lot of fun. Great people, too. Great product.
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: Really unique.
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: Yeah, they're very passionate about their product.
- 1:11:16Speaker 7: Yeah, but they're open tonight until 11. You want to
- 1:11:18Speaker 7: go hang out, do it.
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: Gross, let's go there. And if you go ahead, if
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: you bring up, hey, I heard about you guys on JCS. Jack,
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: what happens? Oh, they're going to give you a shot.
- 1:11:27Speaker 4: That's right. For how much, though? I think it's free.
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: It just got to mention the Jim Colbert show, and
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: they'll give you a free shot.
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: All you have to do is go to Holton Capon.
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: Those are the roads. That's right. And then ask maybe for, like, hey,
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: I heard about the Holton Capon. They're going to say, actually,
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: it's sold out. But we can offer you something even better.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: Just as badass. And then that's what they do there
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: at Forward Slash. Please, please, please, please support local businesses,
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: especially cool ones. Forward Slash is both of those.
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: And we're going to take a little break. When we
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: come back, I know we're all getting ready for some football, right?
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: For those who haven't heard, we are preempted tonight by
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: the Bucs' final preseason game. So tonight's show will be
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: ending at 630.
- 1:12:07Speaker 6: What?
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: Have you guys heard what's going on with the SEC
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: and what a judge just ruled?
- 1:12:13Speaker 13: What, six?
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: It's I can't believe that this is something that has
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: even been thought of. But we're going to talk about
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: what a judge just told the SEC next. So keep
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: it here on Real Radio 104.1.
- 1:12:24Speaker 14: Ross, don't feel bad about the Starbucks, man.
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: My 22 year old son.
- 1:12:31Speaker 14: When he was about a year and a half old,
- 1:12:33Speaker 14: he walked up and grabbed a can of Guinness off
- 1:12:35Speaker 14: the table that I was drinking, which I thought I
- 1:12:37Speaker 14: had finished because I'm a good Irishman. And he grabbed it,
- 1:12:43Speaker 14: and I was like, oh, this will be a cute picture.
- 1:12:45Speaker 14: We got out the camera to take a picture of
- 1:12:47Speaker 14: him pretending like he was drinking it. Well, he wasn't
- 1:12:50Speaker 14: pretending because there was still about a quarter of that
- 1:12:52Speaker 14: can left, and he's fine.
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: Hey, happy Friday, y'all. Happy Friday.
- 1:12:59Speaker 6: I used to live down in the V.I. and guess
- 1:13:01Speaker 6: who our governor was then? Mayor Marion Barry got arrested
- 1:13:06Speaker 6: in Washington, D.C. for doing crack. Is there a connection
- 1:13:10Speaker 6: with the whiskey and the Marion crack whiskey?
- 1:13:15Speaker 4: I like it. I hope it sent you to the
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: right place.
- 1:13:19Speaker 6: You guys have a blessed day and enjoy your weekend.
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: Great. I think this is Barry, not Barry. Oh, yeah.
- 1:13:26Speaker 6: Hey, guys.
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: I hope you guys are doing well. Jack, I support
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: this all the way through, man. Get your choo-choo on.
- 1:13:31Speaker 9: Come on.
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: Be the train conductor or whatever, train captain, whatever they
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: call them. Do it, bro. I love it.
- 1:13:37Speaker 9: Thanks.
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: Bye.
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: I'll even make you many buildings for your train village.
- 1:13:41Speaker 7: See, maybe you're level one autistic, too, with your love
- 1:13:44Speaker 7: of miniatures.
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: Oh, I'm definitely, dude. No questions.
- 1:13:47Speaker 8: All right.
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: Hey, welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show, Real Radio 104.1.
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: Give yourself a lot of extra time out there. We've
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: got some squirrely weather. It is raining sideways. Listen, we
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: were going to cover the SEC story, but we're going
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: to do that a little bit later because right now
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: what we really want to do is get some Ross thoughts.
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: It's weird. I got a problem. It's funny. Yeah, you do. Sometimes.
- 1:14:09Speaker 9: Is it pizza?
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: It's Ross.
- 1:14:12Speaker 8: No.
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: Spelled like sauce. Pizza's never a problem. It's Ross. Today's
- 1:14:18Speaker 4: Raw Thoughts is brought to you by personal injury attorney
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: Mo DeWitt. If you are in a slip and fall,
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: let me answer that question for you. It's Mo DeWitt.
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: If it's a car accident, injured on the go, just
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: call Mo. Justcallmo.com. Now, here's my problem. All right. I
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: need to get something off my chest. I need to see... Well,
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: it's not hair. It's not hair. There's not much. There's six.
- 1:14:44Speaker 4: And they look like chin hairs. They look like 14-year-old
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: chin hairs shooting out of my chest. Little baby spider legs,
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: if you will. Okay. I have a wife. My wife rocks.
- 1:14:58Speaker 4: She's got boobs. She's got a butt. She's got perfect teeth.
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: And you know what? I look in the mirror. None
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: of those things. I don't have any of this. You
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: shouldn't have boobs. And I love my wife. I love
- 1:15:11Speaker 4: her body. She likes mine. And there's just one little
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: dynamic in our marriage that is just absolutely, every now
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: and then, it flares up. And I'm fully aware. I'm self-aware.
- 1:15:26Speaker 4: I'm just coming to grips with it publicly to let
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: everybody know, and especially another man, know that you're not alone. And, Deb,
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: you have to have done this to your husband. Oh,
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: I hope not. I know you have because it's not
- 1:15:40Speaker 4: a bad thing. I'm smart and emotionally intelligent enough to
- 1:15:46Speaker 4: know it's not a bad thing. In fact, it's an
- 1:15:50Speaker 4: awesome thing. What's that? But I still have a little
- 1:15:53Speaker 4: thing called male ego that I have to play with
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: like a kitten does a little ball on a string.
- 1:16:00Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: And I push it to the side. I got to
- 1:16:02Speaker 4: push it. I go, no, no, no, no, no. My wife, sometimes,
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: it just flares up out of nowhere, just destroys me
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: when it comes to being, like, the man of the house.
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: I woke up. I hear tinkering. I go, what the
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: hell is that noise? She walks out, flips a rag
- 1:16:22Speaker 4: on the shoulder, has a tool, and goes, fix the toilet. <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>
- 1:16:30Speaker 4: It's not a bad thing.
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: Someone's got to do it, dude.
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: And I agree. I agree.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: But.
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: I could have. I could have done it. Did you
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: know how? No, but neither did she. We were in
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: the same source of, I don't know. I don't know.
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: Do you know? I don't know. And then finally she
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: just pulled the trigger on it, and then that's what
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: I woke up to this morning. Her fixing the toilet. Yeah,
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: and that was the last straw out of all of
- 1:17:04Speaker 4: these moments that made me go, you know what, I
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: just got to come to grips with it. Maybe I
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: should just be sitting down. Maybe that's just me. Maybe
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: that's just my role. Well, it can be cleaner. It
- 1:17:17Speaker 4: is cleaner, and I don't even know if it's healthier,
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: but you see where I'm getting at. Here's another thing.
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: Jack, have you ever woken up to your wife operating
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: a power tool without you present?
- 1:17:28Speaker 8: No.
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: No, this does not happen in my household. It wasn't
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: a power tool. Just say, all right, let me defend
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: my position. Okay, sorry about that. There's no battery involved.
- 1:17:38Speaker 6: Well.
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: Not that battery either. Where I'm going with this is, well,
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: here comes another example. This is also what made me go,
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: all right, that's strike two. Whiskey's kicking in. All right,
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: here comes strike two. Yeah, this is all whiskey fuel. Also,
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: Ross Thoughts is brought to you by Forward Slash. It's
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: all whiskey fuel. All right, here comes another vent that
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: made me go.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: Am I that big of a bitch?
- 1:18:04Speaker 6: Right?
- 1:18:05Speaker 4: This happened last week, right? Okay. She goes, hey, do
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: you want a breakfast burrito? I go, yeah, I like
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: breakfast burritos. And then she even says it kind of
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: like a mechanic, like, hey, you want a breakfast burrito?
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: You want me to check your whale under the hood?
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: I go, yeah. I forget that I said yes to it,
- 1:18:20Speaker 4: and then I want to be productive, so I start
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: cleaning and just start putting stuff away. Next thing I know,
- 1:18:25Speaker 4: I find myself on all fours, Jack, cleaning the toilet. Wait, wait, wait.
- 1:18:30Speaker 4: All fours? All fours, because I'm getting down and dirty.
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: It's tough.
- 1:18:35Speaker 7: If you want to clean behind the toilet, your face
- 1:18:38Speaker 7: is getting really close to an area you don't want
- 1:18:41Speaker 7: your face close to.
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: And those curvy areas at the bottom of the porcelain.
- 1:18:44Speaker 4: Oh, they accumulate all that.
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: You got to clean all that. The front of the bowl,
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: all of it.
- 1:18:49Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: All got to be cleaned or it's not cleaned.
- 1:18:51Speaker 4: All of a sudden, she turns the corner, flips the rag,
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: puts it on the shoulder. She goes, hey, wash your hands.
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: Burrito's done. It's like she's a line cook. What is that?
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: I don't know if I like that.
- 1:19:11Speaker 17: I do.
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: I don't know. And I like it because it's a
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: breakfast burrito.
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: Now, did she smack you on the ass on her
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: way out?
- 1:19:19Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, cutie, wash your hands. Breakfast burrito's done. No, no,
- 1:19:25Speaker 4: she didn't. She said it with that same tone. She
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: had an ass-smacking tone behind it, and I'm on all fours.
- 1:19:33Speaker 4: It was, hey, wash your hands. Burrito's done. Don't tell
- 1:19:36Speaker 4: me to wash my hands. Oh, no. I get it.
- 1:19:38Speaker 4: They're gross right now with Simple Green, which, by the way,
- 1:19:43Speaker 4: I'm invested now. I think that's the best cleaner in
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: the market.
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: Really?
- 1:19:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I love Simple Green. That's all of 37 years
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: of age of me right there. Yeah, I can hear it.
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: I've got a cleaning preference. Here comes another example. That's adulting.
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: I'm a fabuloso guy.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: Oh, that's a good smell right there.
- 1:20:02Speaker 4: I don't know, man. I'm not proud of it. I'm
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: not proud of it. All right. But I have a toddler.
- 1:20:07Speaker 4: My toddler loves the dishwasher. This almost cursed this guy.
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: That's how you know he's serious. This guy. This guy
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: would be starting my dishwasher all the damn time, dude.
- 1:20:19Speaker 6: Oh, really?
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: He knows how to start it, and he loves the
- 1:20:20Speaker 4: beeps and the bops. So, I mean, my dishes are clean,
- 1:20:25Speaker 4: very clean, and my water bill very high. So he's
- 1:20:30Speaker 4: running this dishwasher, right? And he also knows every now
- 1:20:33Speaker 4: and then he'll open it. And every now and then
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: he wants to open up the bottom rack, and then
- 1:20:38Speaker 4: he opens up the top rack. He opens up the
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: top rack. He breaks it. Breaks the top rack. We
- 1:20:43Speaker 4: can't use our top rack for a very long time. Oh, no.
- 1:20:48Speaker 4: It's like my dishwasher. Did you get rid of the kid? No,
- 1:20:50Speaker 4: I didn't get rid of the kid, but I. Big mistake.
- 1:20:52Speaker 4: But then we just, we had to use a dishwasher
- 1:20:54Speaker 4: that was missing its second story. This thing was, you know,
- 1:20:57Speaker 4: it was a convertible at this point. Right, yeah. It
- 1:21:00Speaker 4: was missing its front tooth. Then all of a sudden
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: that one day I opened up the dishwasher.
- 1:21:05Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: And it's fixed. I'm like, huh. That's not good. Or
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: is it good? This is good. But why does it
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: feel bad?
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: Somebody did text and wonder if Olivia threw you up
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: on the kitchen counter and had her way with you.
- 1:21:25Speaker 4: No, she didn't do that. But she fixed the damn
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: dishwasher without me really knowing. She didn't even tell me
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: that time. She just ordered the basket?
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: I mean, how'd she fix it?
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: It wasn't a basket. This thing was a shattered piece
- 1:21:38Speaker 4: of plastic. And then she ordered it, replaced it. That's
- 1:21:43Speaker 4: my girl. It is my girl. She's my girl. You
- 1:21:47Speaker 4: can't have her. Okay. She's mine. But, guys, I got
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: to start working out. I got to start doing something.
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: I got to, like, eat jerky. She's beating me at
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: my own game right now. And so what do I need?
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: I need to walk up to her, you know, flip
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: the little rag on my shoulder, and then what do
- 1:22:08Speaker 4: I say? Like, I cleaned out your car. Mowed the grass.
- 1:22:16Speaker 4: I mowed the grass. I mow.
- 1:22:18Speaker 9: I mow.
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: And I mow hard, Jack.
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: Took out the garbage.
- 1:22:22Speaker 4: How about can you paint her nails? Maybe you could
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: do that. So you want me to flip the rag
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: on my shoulder and go, girl, your nails.
- 1:22:31Speaker 10: Yes.
- 1:22:34Speaker 4: I'll pay you if you do it. I think it's
- 1:22:37Speaker 4: all you got.
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: Someone said she twisted up the towel and popped you
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: on the ass with it.
- 1:22:43Speaker 4: I'm talking about a towel. She walked out of the shower.
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: She rocked a towel just around her waist. Not even
- 1:22:48Speaker 4: a good. Boobs flopping. I was like, what is happening?
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: It's an interesting marriage I have, and I absolutely love
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: my wife. And she is such a badass. And I know.
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: And I'll make this even serious because this is real
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: world examples. I'll make this serious. It's not a bad
- 1:23:08Speaker 4: thing at all. And it honestly makes me grateful for
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: the partner that I get to wake up to and
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: how one hell of a teammate she is for the
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: rest of my life. But also at the same time,
- 1:23:20Speaker 4: I've got to grow more chest hair. Those are your
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: raw thoughts.
- 1:23:24Speaker 6: I'm out.
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: Peace. All right.
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: We're going to take a quick break, but we'll be
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: back and we'll cover that SE story next. So keep
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: it here on the Jim Colbert Show on Real Radio 104.1.
- 1:23:35Speaker 5: Happy weekend, Coburn & Company's Concrete Mike. Man, by this
- 1:23:38Speaker 5: time tomorrow, I'll be sitting my butt in a seat
- 1:23:42Speaker 5: at Daytona International Speedway. But, Ross, you think your water
- 1:23:46Speaker 5: bill is high now with your kid? Wait till he's
- 1:23:49Speaker 5: a teenager. Wait till he's taking hour-long showers. And don't
- 1:23:53Speaker 5: even question and ask what he's doing for an hour
- 1:23:56Speaker 5: in that shower.
- 1:23:57Speaker 4: You don't want to know, buddy.
- 1:23:58Speaker 8: I do.
- 1:23:58Speaker 6: I already know.
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: For an hour?
- 1:24:01Speaker 8: Hey, guys.
- 1:24:02Speaker 5: Happy day.
- 1:24:02Speaker 4: Happy Friday. Harder standing up.
- 1:24:05Speaker 11: Ross mentioned cleaning with Simple Green, and it reminded me,
- 1:24:08Speaker 11: either I have a cleaning problem or a drinking problem.
- 1:24:10Speaker 11: When I use Simple Green, it reminds me of Jägermeister,
- 1:24:13Speaker 11: and I want to go drink Jägermeister. When I'm drinking Jägermeister,
- 1:24:16Speaker 11: I go, ah, crap, I need to clean the bathroom.
- 1:24:18Speaker 11: It reminds me of Simple Green. Don't try to drink
- 1:24:21Speaker 11: the Simple Green. It does not taste the.
- 1:24:22Speaker 13: Same as Jäger.
- 1:24:24Speaker 7: Could a vacuum cleaner be considered a power tool?
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: Question mark.
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: Only if you're the one operating it. Welcome back to
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: the Jim Colbert Show on Real Radio 104.1.
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: Hope you're having a great Friday.
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: Thank you so much for spending part of your day
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: with us. We really do truly appreciate it. Jim is
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: off today. He's actually hosting TasteFL.
- 1:24:50Speaker 4: Yeah, Taste CFL. Taste CFL. Exactly.
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: Benefiting the Second Harvest Food Bank, one of the best
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: organizations in Central Florida.
- 1:24:58Speaker 4: It features like over 100 restaurants and such, right?
- 1:25:00Speaker 13: It does.
- 1:25:00Speaker 7: It also benefits Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, drinks,
- 1:25:06Speaker 7: restaurant people, and a lot of food. Him and Jana
- 1:25:09Speaker 7: from XL and Magic are hosting it tonight, and they
- 1:25:13Speaker 7: had to be there early, so that's where he is.
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: So he'll be back with us on Monday, but you've
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: got Deb. You just heard Jack and Ross.
- 1:25:20Speaker 4: Yep, Mount Dora, 14 sketches tomorrow night, 8 o'clock, going
- 1:25:24Speaker 4: to be awesome. That's where I'll be.
- 1:25:25Speaker 7: See, Jim has to wear a sport jacket tonight or
- 1:25:29Speaker 7: a sport coat.
- 1:25:29Speaker 4: That's right. Tomorrow, no sport coat for me.
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: No sport coat for me either. Yeah, Jack, myself, Ross,
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: we're all going to be there tomorrow. I know, I've
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: got to be careful with that. Ross, the show starts
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: at 8, but doors open at 6.30, right?
- 1:25:43Speaker 4: That is correct, because there's this awesome little lobby, little
- 1:25:46Speaker 4: cocktail hour.
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: Yes, there's a bar there, so you can get yourself
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: some drinks, get yourself, you know. Good and ready for
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: the show that will begin at 8 o'clock.
- 1:25:54Speaker 7: Say hi to Summer and Damarian, representing Real Radio out
- 1:25:57Speaker 7: there with the Real Radio table.
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: Working real hard. Get some swag. Are there still VIP
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: tickets available?
- 1:26:03Speaker 7: I believe there are just a handful. And if you do,
- 1:26:05Speaker 7: you get a bag. There's some cool stuff in there, too.
- 1:26:08Speaker 10: There is.
- 1:26:09Speaker 4: I got to snag me one of those. You know
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: someone in Mount Dora? I think I know someone. Hook
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: me up, would you?
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: RealRadio.fm slash comedy to get your tickets. And we hope
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: to see you tomorrow night. Oh, in Mount Dora. Do
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: we have to print the tickets or can they get
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: them off their phone? Do we know anything about that?
- 1:26:26Speaker 4: I think if you show them on the phone, they'll
- 1:26:28Speaker 4: be fine. Yeah.
- 1:26:29Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: Any questions, you can call the Mount Dora Music Hall. Okay,
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: did you guys hear about what a judge ruled yesterday?
- 1:26:35Speaker 8: No.
- 1:26:36Speaker 4: When it comes to sports. You said it had to
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: do with the SEC.
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: And the NCAA.
- 1:26:41Speaker 6: Oh.
- 1:26:41Speaker 4: I just, you know.
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: Ever since this NIL money change, right, everything has changed
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: with college football.
- 1:26:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I care less about it now.
- 1:26:50Speaker 5: True.
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: Well, this is from ESPN.
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: A Dallas judge signed an order yesterday that prohibits the NCAA,
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: the SEC, and its commissioner, Greg Sankey, from stopping a
- 1:27:03Speaker 3: group of athletes, three of whom are currently listed on
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: NFL rosters, from returning to college sports for one more.
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: Season of play. Wait, they're in the NFL?
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: They're in the.
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: NFL and they're saying, listen, if we had known that
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: we could have gone for a fifth year of play,
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: we never would have gone into the pros. You have
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: to let us go back to college. The SEC was like, no, bro,
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: you've been an NFL player. And a judge ruled and said, no, SEC,
- 1:27:33Speaker 3: you can't tell them that they can't go back to college.
- 1:27:37Speaker 4: Yeah, did you see what Sean McVay, the L.A. Ram,
- 1:27:41Speaker 4: said about this?
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: No.
- 1:27:42Speaker 4: He said, I thought I took a freaking gummy.
- 1:27:45Speaker 7: I know.
- 1:27:45Speaker 4: When he saw the news. Because it makes no sense.
- 1:27:51Speaker 3: Think about it. So there are three of the names.
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: You're going to know the names. You have Jordan Hudson,
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: Dallas Cowboys wide receiver.
- 1:27:59Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Wesley Besanthe.
- 1:28:04Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: Chiefs wide receiver Omari Evans. They're among 41 players listed
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: as plaintiffs on the restraining order, as well as a
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: couple of WNBA players as well. And it's the latest
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: in a growing number of legal challenges to the NCAA's
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: eligibility rules, but it makes no sense.
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: This is supposed to be about college sports.
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: How can you have a 25-year-old man who's been training
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: with NFL players show back up on a college campus?
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: If your kid's a standout high school player, what are
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: his chances?
- 1:28:35Speaker 7: But that even goes to underscore what college football is.
- 1:28:40Speaker 9: Is.
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: Joe, we're just seeing it. This is more blatant.
- 1:28:43Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:28:43Speaker 7: But that it is, you know, they're going to do
- 1:28:46Speaker 7: anything they can to put the best team out there.
- 1:28:48Speaker 7: I'm surprised, like, who in the SEC is saying no?
- 1:28:52Speaker 7: Because I can't imagine the coaches are like, Give me
- 1:28:55Speaker 7: these players. I know.
- 1:28:56Speaker 4: I'll take these players. And on the flip side of it,
- 1:28:59Speaker 4: just play devil's advocate just lets you know. I think NIL.
- 1:29:03Speaker 6: Yep.
- 1:29:04Speaker 4: We're knocking on perfect debate territory for me.
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: If it weren't for NIL, you would not have NFL
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: players asking to go back to college. But in some cases,
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: these players are making more money. or could potentially make
- 1:29:20Speaker 3: more money as a college player than they did when
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: they were in the NFL. And that shouldn't be a
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: reason alone for allowing them to get back on the
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: college team.
- 1:29:27Speaker 4: And also, I mean, maybe this is a hot take.
- 1:29:30Speaker 4: I know that I'm, I feel like I'm quarterly talking
- 1:29:33Speaker 4: out of my ass when I am about to say
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: that's a skill, but NIL is also basically how you
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: got Indiana football. To win that national championship because it's
- 1:29:43Speaker 4: never really been fair when it comes to SEC in
- 1:29:47Speaker 4: the past. I'm not a huge college football fan, but
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: I'm fully aware of like I'm underneath the impression at
- 1:29:53Speaker 4: the very least that NIL is kind of the reason
- 1:29:56Speaker 4: why Indiana. If you look at the average age of
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: that Indiana team.
- 1:30:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:30:01Speaker 4: Yeah. It's a new ball game for college football. You're
- 1:30:05Speaker 4: going to see other schools that are not part of
- 1:30:08Speaker 4: the SEC win natty championships a lot more in the
- 1:30:12Speaker 4: next couple of decades.
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: And we've seen this argument a lot in major sports, right?
- 1:30:17Speaker 4: Moneyball?
- 1:30:18Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:30:19Speaker 4: You know, we've talked for years.
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: The Dodgers now seemingly have all the money in baseball,
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: along with the Yankees.
- 1:30:25Speaker 4: No, Dodgers, they're much worse. They're bad, evil villains. And
- 1:30:30Speaker 4: I know Mendoza is not the apex great example of
- 1:30:34Speaker 4: what I'm referring to. I believe Mendoza actually basically took
- 1:30:37Speaker 4: less money to go to Indiana, but for the guarantee
- 1:30:40Speaker 4: to play. Oh, yeah, exactly.
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: Because, again, he wanted to play on the Hurricanes, and
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: the Hurricanes said no. And then he ends up going
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: to Indiana and bringing home their first championship. And so
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: I thought this earlier, what someone just texted at 77031.
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: So why do they have to let them back on
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: the team?
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: And if they have to let them back on the team,
- 1:30:59Speaker 3: why can't they just sit them on the bench? Because
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: they're a big NFL player, and that means they're going
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: to win games.
- 1:31:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know why they would want to go
- 1:31:07Speaker 4: back to college, because I would still think that the
- 1:31:09Speaker 4: NFL contract is going to beat your NIL contract. I
- 1:31:13Speaker 4: would think, but that's me. Once again, I'm still quarter-ass
- 1:31:17Speaker 4: zone right now.
- 1:31:18Speaker 7: Or are these guys who made the NFL rosters? Because
- 1:31:22Speaker 7: NFL rosters have to cut from 90 down to 53, right?
- 1:31:27Speaker 4: I think this week.
- 1:31:28Speaker 7: So are it guys who were on the roster and
- 1:31:33Speaker 7: now don't have a team?
- 1:31:35Speaker 4: That I understand. They're looking to get that paycheck.
- 1:31:39Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:31:39Speaker 7: And they can, you know, they have a little notoriety
- 1:31:42Speaker 7: behind them now.
- 1:31:43Speaker 4: Right. So that is what really brands are looking for.
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: And again, you know, I can see from their perspective,
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: but if I'm a parent of a young man who
- 1:31:54Speaker 3: has been busting his ass for, you know, through what's
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: the little league for football.
- 1:32:00Speaker 4: Pee Wee?
- 1:32:01Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: Pee Wee, all the way, Pop Warner, all through.
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: The ranks and has made a name for himself, taken
- 1:32:08Speaker 3: all those hits, done all that training, all that working
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: out just to get into the school of his choice.
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: And nothing's going to happen for my son because some
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: 25 year old. Who didn't quite make it in the
- 1:32:20Speaker 3: NFL is going to come back to the school. And
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: obviously the school is going to be like, well, we're
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: not dumb. They're going to put that former NFL guy
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: on the roster.
- 1:32:28Speaker 4: He's huge.
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: He's been training with big NFL players. That 18-year-old kid
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: that's been working his whole life. to be that college quarterback.
- 1:32:37Speaker 3: It makes getting that prospect that much harder.
- 1:32:39Speaker 7: All he's going to get is CTE without a chance
- 1:32:42Speaker 7: to even play in the pros.
- 1:32:43Speaker 3: And they found that, what is it, one in every
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: four NFL players they found did have CTE?
- 1:32:48Speaker 4: And that 25-year-old, though, Deb, has worked their entire life
- 1:32:52Speaker 4: as well.
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: Without a doubt.
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: But they've also been working at a level that this
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: high schooler isn't even going to get the opportunity. He's
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: not going to be able to go through the college
- 1:33:00Speaker 3: ranks and then get into the NFL. It's It's asked
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: backwards to allow someone who's had the best trainers, the
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: best conditioning, the best chefs in food and guidance on
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: nutrition be able to come back and take that opportunity
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: away from an 18-year-old who really should be the star
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: player on a college football team, not someone who's been
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: to the pros and now gets to come back and
- 1:33:21Speaker 3: try it again.
- 1:33:22Speaker 4: Is there a requirement they have to be a student?
- 1:33:26Speaker 4: I would imagine they have to. I mean, why else
- 1:33:28Speaker 4: could you go to college?
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: I mean, I would imagine GPA is still a requirement
- 1:33:31Speaker 3: in some aspects.
- 1:33:32Speaker 4: So that situation that you just threw down, I completely agree.
- 1:33:36Speaker 4: But let me– this is why I go knock, knock, knock.
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: Who's there? Perfect debate, right? Because you have that 18-year-old.
- 1:33:42Speaker 4: You have that prospect. You also have a 25-year-old, same trajectory.
- 1:33:45Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:33:46Speaker 4: Both are the 18-year-old. You don't know if they're going
- 1:33:48Speaker 4: to make it to the NFL. The 25-year-old, that fifth-year senior,
- 1:33:53Speaker 4: that six-year senior, you kind of know that he's not
- 1:33:56Speaker 4: going to make it to the NFL. But he's the
- 1:33:59Speaker 4: best in college football. That's what I'm saying, though. Do
- 1:34:04Speaker 4: you think it's wrong for that 25-year-old to go ahead
- 1:34:08Speaker 4: and pursue that national championship?
- 1:34:10Speaker 3: I think it's wrong for a judge to tell a
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: governing body of college sports that they have to allow
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: grown adults to come back and take the.
- 1:34:18Speaker 4: But he never went to the NFL. He's a fifth-year senior.
- 1:34:23Speaker 4: Because guess what? Indiana filled with fifth-year seniors. Six-year seniors.
- 1:34:29Speaker 4: You're talking 25-year-olds. that played in that national championship game,
- 1:34:34Speaker 4: like 24, 25.
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: I'd still give them a break because once you've made
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: it to the NFL.
- 1:34:41Speaker 4: But they never made it to the NFL.
- 1:34:43Speaker 9: No, no, no.
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: But what I'm saying is for the ones that have.
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: So if it's a 24, 25-year-old college senior and they've
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: been in college the whole time, absolutely give them the
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: opportunity because they haven't trained with the best and then
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: they're going back to take that opportunity away from the
- 1:34:57Speaker 3: 24-year-old senior who, Probably isn't going to get into the NFL,
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: but he's still the best that they have on the team.
- 1:35:03Speaker 7: Yeah, but there's no age limit to be a college
- 1:35:06Speaker 7: player if you're a student. I mean, you could be
- 1:35:08Speaker 7: a 40-year-old guy. You can kick the ball 60 yards.
- 1:35:13Speaker 7: They'll sign you.
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: Oh, there's like a couple of guys I read last week.
- 1:35:16Speaker 3: One is in his 60s who decided to go back
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: and play college football. That's not my issue isn't the age.
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: It's the opportunity to have had the best trainers, the
- 1:35:26Speaker 3: best conditioning, the best coaches. So you're going in with
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: such a head advantage over all of these other kids
- 1:35:32Speaker 3: that are just trying to get a college scholarship.
- 1:35:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I don't– I think the three players
- 1:35:36Speaker 4: were silly, and I think the judge ruled against it, right? Right? No, no.
- 1:35:42Speaker 7: The judge said in favor of it, and I think
- 1:35:44Speaker 7: it was 41 players.
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: Yeah, 41 players are in this lawsuit because they're seeking
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: to go back saying, listen, if we had known we
- 1:35:52Speaker 3: could have been eligible for a fifth year in college– Instead,
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: we would have just done that instead of going pro.
- 1:35:59Speaker 4: And that's not– I don't think that's necessarily solely for money.
- 1:36:04Speaker 4: I think a lot of that is, yo, we can
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: be in the history books. I think we can pull
- 1:36:11Speaker 4: a natty championship if we pull this together. If you
- 1:36:14Speaker 4: go back and I go back, like– I'm also pro
- 1:36:18Speaker 4: more times than not NIL. And maybe that sounds like
- 1:36:21Speaker 4: a hot take or maybe contradictory. Not at all. It's such,
- 1:36:24Speaker 4: like you said, Ross, perfect debate. Because how are you
- 1:36:27Speaker 4: going to tell these young athletes that, hey, you don't
- 1:36:29Speaker 4: get paid, but everyone else around you is making millions
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: because of you? Oh, by the way, while you're not
- 1:36:37Speaker 4: getting paid, I'm also fully aware that you could snap
- 1:36:39Speaker 4: an ACL and it's all over.
- 1:36:41Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:36:41Speaker 4: But I still made the money off of your dream.
- 1:36:43Speaker 4: And that's always been ethically corrupt.
- 1:36:46Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 1:36:47Speaker 4: That's always been one of the arguments with college sports. Right.
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: That the boosters, the school, they will do anything, anywhere,
- 1:36:54Speaker 3: at any time, making millions. Then you've got the video games,
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: making millions off of these players' likenesses, their names, their
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: moves on the court or on the field. None of
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: that has ever been fair, but what's interesting is how
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: NIL has absolutely changed the face of college sports. It's
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: almost making it hard to tell where College sports begins
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: and the pros begin.
- 1:37:15Speaker 4: And then on the other side is that, and I've
- 1:37:18Speaker 4: never been, once again, I'm still quarter-ass land, is that
- 1:37:22Speaker 4: I have never been such a huge college football fan,
- 1:37:25Speaker 4: but from the outside looking in, I can tell you
- 1:37:27Speaker 4: why it resonates in a different way than the NFL
- 1:37:31Speaker 4: or any other league. And it's because for the longest time,
- 1:37:35Speaker 4: it was pure. It was pure.
- 1:37:37Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: There was joyous players. You could feel through your TV.
- 1:37:43Speaker 4: They're not here for the contract. They're here for the
- 1:37:46Speaker 4: love of the game. They're here for their future. They're
- 1:37:49Speaker 4: fighting for their family. They're fighting for that big yellow
- 1:37:54Speaker 4: M or that weird buckeye plant around a red nut
- 1:38:00Speaker 4: or whatever. It's a nut. It was pure competition. Cause they,
- 1:38:05Speaker 4: that's all they had was the love of the game.
- 1:38:07Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:38:07Speaker 4: And you would, there's literally never anyone holding out because
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: of a contract, which is painfully unlikable every time it happens.
- 1:38:15Speaker 3: I mean that in the portals, you can't, you don't
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: know who you're going to be, what you're going to
- 1:38:19Speaker 3: be playing for, what players are going to be playing with.
- 1:38:21Speaker 7: That's what I am. I get annoyed with it. It's like, Oh,
- 1:38:24Speaker 7: this is his fourth team that he's playing on in college.
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: It's like, what? I know. Come on, man.
- 1:38:29Speaker 3: Also, it would make it really difficult to be a
- 1:38:31Speaker 3: college coach and figure out how to build that award-winning team.
- 1:38:36Speaker 3: when you're not even guaranteed that the roster you start
- 1:38:39Speaker 3: with is the roster you're going to end with.
- 1:38:41Speaker 4: It's like Dylan Gabriel.
- 1:38:42Speaker 7: He is a quarterback trying to, he's competing for the
- 1:38:44Speaker 7: quarterback job in Cleveland at one time played for UCF.
- 1:38:48Speaker 7: But then I think he's been on three different colleges,
- 1:38:52Speaker 7: you know, like he just kept hopping around. So it's
- 1:38:55Speaker 7: not like it used to be. There was a pride.
- 1:38:57Speaker 7: It's like, Oh, he's a UCF guy.
- 1:38:59Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:38:59Speaker 4: You know, because he's, It's gone. Yeah, he's got like
- 1:39:02Speaker 4: four different schools.
- 1:39:03Speaker 3: And yet every year when it's signing day, there's still
- 1:39:06Speaker 3: the same amount of hoopla around, you know, what school
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: did you agree to? We're putting on the baseball cap
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: of who you're going to represent. It's amazing we're still
- 1:39:15Speaker 3: doing that when that student may only be at that
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: school for a couple of weeks before they move on.
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: And someone just texted that there's no more college loyalty
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: with With NIL.
- 1:39:26Speaker 4: On the flip side is that you basically saw really weird,
- 1:39:28Speaker 4: poor labor. Getting taken advantage of.
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: Without a doubt.
- 1:39:35Speaker 4: From a guy who was making $ 5 million a year
- 1:39:39Speaker 4: telling these kids how to coach football. It's a perfect argument.
- 1:39:43Speaker 11: It is.
- 1:39:43Speaker 4: It's a perfect debate. I don't have the solution. I
- 1:39:46Speaker 4: just know I can recognize both sides of the argument.
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: Yeah, same here.
- 1:39:49Speaker 4: And it squashes that magical sport feeling that college football
- 1:39:56Speaker 4: once had. but also the dark side that they didn't
- 1:39:59Speaker 4: tell you about was that tragic story that happened every
- 1:40:03Speaker 4: week in college football where this five-star recruit just tore
- 1:40:08Speaker 4: something and now it's over and he never got paid
- 1:40:12Speaker 4: a cent.
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: And yet the video game companies did, the school did.
- 1:40:16Speaker 3: They sold his jersey. It really is absolutely the perfect storm.
- 1:40:21Speaker 3: On one end, ruining college football, and on the other end,
- 1:40:25Speaker 3: they should get their due.
- 1:40:26Speaker 4: And while we're at it, did Reggie Bush get his
- 1:40:28Speaker 4: Heisman back? I don't know. Because he should have. Yes,
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: he did get his Heisman back. All right, cool. So
- 1:40:38Speaker 4: that is like, for the longest time, he basically got
- 1:40:42Speaker 4: caught making money when he was in college football.
- 1:40:44Speaker 3: It's no different than Pete Rose. Never did anything like
- 1:40:47Speaker 3: the Houston Astros. Didn't bang on garbage cans. Didn't, you know,
- 1:40:51Speaker 3: share calls.
- 1:40:52Speaker 4: He bet. I'm not going to lie. I see where
- 1:40:54Speaker 4: you're coming from. I like it. I do think it's
- 1:40:57Speaker 4: a little different still, but.
- 1:40:58Speaker 10: It is.
- 1:40:59Speaker 8: It is.
- 1:40:59Speaker 3: I'm just saying when you weigh one side this way
- 1:41:02Speaker 3: and then all of a sudden you change the rules,
- 1:41:03Speaker 3: it's like, oh man, don't.
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: Apply it evenly.
- 1:41:07Speaker 4: Man, that was such a lesson learned. I just looked
- 1:41:09Speaker 4: it up. It was in 2024 when the Heisman Award
- 1:41:13Speaker 4: went back to Reggie Bush, right?
- 1:41:14Speaker 8: 2024.
- 1:41:15Speaker 4: That was two years ago. I remember that moment now
- 1:41:18Speaker 4: that I looked it up because it was such a
- 1:41:20Speaker 4: reminder of how arbitrary rules really are.
- 1:41:23Speaker 3: You know, that's what I'm saying, right? There are rules today.
- 1:41:25Speaker 4: There are rules tomorrow. All right. Well, listen. Fascinating conversation, gentlemen.
- 1:41:30Speaker 4: Thank you so much.
- 1:41:31Speaker 6: Bang.
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: Are you guys ready to play some trivia?
- 1:41:33Speaker 4: Yay! No pick the porn today.
- 1:41:35Speaker 5: Whoa!
- 1:41:35Speaker 3: Yeah, we only do that game when Jimmy's here because
- 1:41:38Speaker 3: nobody else wants to do that research.
- 1:41:39Speaker 4: Because he's a perv.
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: Yeah, no one wants to do that research. But he
- 1:41:43Speaker 3: did supply us with trivia today, so we're going to
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: do that next. Load up the phones. 407-916-10401. We'll take
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: a look at what's in the Jackie sack for prizes,
- 1:41:52Speaker 3: and then we'll play a little trivia. So keep it
- 1:41:54Speaker 3: here on Real Radio 104.1.
- 1:42:09Speaker 8: Well, it seems, according to this judge, LeBron James has
- 1:42:12Speaker 8: five years of eligibility for college basketball. Or, I mean,
- 1:42:16Speaker 8: I think we've seen him play some football. He has
- 1:42:19Speaker 8: five years of eligibility to go play college football. Hell,
- 1:42:22Speaker 8: I think at his age, he'd still be the best
- 1:42:24Speaker 8: player in the country.
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Jim Culver Show on Real Radio 104.1.
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: Hope you're having a great Friday afternoon. Thank you for

- 1:43:06Speaker 9: Choo-choo.
- 1:43:07Speaker 4: Clickety-clack, clickety-clack.
- 1:43:10Speaker 7: All right, listen up. We got some prizes for you.
- 1:43:12Speaker 7: It could be a pair, and the winner gets to pick, right?
- 1:43:15Speaker 7: So a pair of tickets to see Orlando City SC
- 1:43:18Speaker 7: take on San Diego FC at Interdakos Stadium on September 5th.
- 1:43:23Speaker 7: I also have a pair of tickets. These are lawn
- 1:43:25Speaker 7: passes to see the Dirty Heads and 311 at Mid-Florida
- 1:43:29Speaker 7: Credit Union Amphitheater on August 29th.
- 1:43:32Speaker 4: That's tomorrow.
- 1:43:34Speaker 7: Or a pair of tickets to see luke bryan at
- 1:43:37Speaker 7: mid florida credit union amphitheater on september 10th those are
- 1:43:41Speaker 7: the prizes in the jackie sack today back to.
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: You deb awesome uh who do we have jack oh well.
- 1:43:47Speaker 7: We have well line one two three or five and
- 1:43:52Speaker 7: you get to pick oh everything but four because they
- 1:43:55Speaker 7: hung up all right let's go number one number one and.
- 1:43:59Speaker 4: We welcome glenn hey glenn how's it going Hey, good.
- 1:44:04Speaker 5: How are you guys doing?
- 1:44:05Speaker 2: Oh, we're doing good. Would you like to play a
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: little game with us?
- 1:44:09Speaker 8: Oh, sure.
- 1:44:09Speaker 4: I'll give it a go. All right. Let's do it.
- 1:44:14Speaker 3: All right, Glenn, you know how we play this game.
- 1:44:16Speaker 3: I'm going to make a statement followed by four facts. Oh,
- 1:44:19Speaker 3: but one of those facts is a lie. Find the
- 1:44:21Speaker 3: lie and you get to go to the Jackie sack.
- 1:44:23Speaker 4: Are you ready?
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: Sounds great, yeah.
- 1:44:27Speaker 4: Okay, great. So even though.
- 1:44:29Speaker 3: He's not here, it's going to seem like he is
- 1:44:32Speaker 3: because on this day in 1898, inventor Calum Bradham creates
- 1:44:37Speaker 3: the iconic carbonated beverage Pepsi-Cola.
- 1:44:41Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: The crack for Jim Culver.
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: Here are three fun facts about Pepsi and one crispy
- 1:44:47Speaker 3: nose-stinging lie. Number one, find the lie, Glenn, and you
- 1:44:51Speaker 3: get to go to the Jackie Sack. Pepsi was originally
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: called Brad's Drink. Number two, Pepsi was the first soda
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: company to offer prizes under the bottle cap. Number three,
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: Pepsi was the first company ever to use skywriting for advertising.
- 1:45:08Speaker 3: Or number four, in 1970, Pepsi was the first company
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: to offer their cola in a two-liter bottle.
- 1:45:16Speaker 4: Which one is the lie? Oh, boy. I'm going to
- 1:45:20Speaker 4: have to go with number one.
- 1:45:23Speaker 2: Number one, it's a fact. I'm sorry, Glenn.
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: All right, thank you. You're welcome. Thank you. Two, three,
- 1:45:30Speaker 4: or five, Deb?
- 1:45:31Speaker 2: We're going to go two.
- 1:45:32Speaker 4: Two it is, and we welcome Mike.
- 1:45:35Speaker 2: Hey, Mike, how's it going?
- 1:45:37Speaker 4: It's going good.
- 1:45:39Speaker 9: How are you?
- 1:45:39Speaker 6: Oh, good.
- 1:45:40Speaker 4: I'm fat and sassy. Happy to hear that.
- 1:45:42Speaker 3: All right, here are your three remaining choices. Mike, find
- 1:45:45Speaker 3: a lie, and you get to go to the Jackie Sack.
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: Number one, Pepsi was the first soda company to offer
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: prizes under the bottle cap. Number two, Pepsi was the
- 1:45:54Speaker 3: first company ever to use skywriting for advertising. Or number three,
- 1:45:59Speaker 3: in 1970, Pepsi was the first company to offer their
- 1:46:03Speaker 3: cola in a two-liter bottle.
- 1:46:06Speaker 4: I'm going to go with the last one.
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: The last one is a fact. Oh, Mike, sorry about that.
- 1:46:11Speaker 4: I know. Bummer, bummer. You can play again. No, he
- 1:46:16Speaker 4: just pigged out. Saw that? He wanted to squeal, but
- 1:46:19Speaker 4: we didn't give him enough time. No, no, no. You
- 1:46:22Speaker 4: got three or five, Deb.
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: Okay, we're going to go number three.
- 1:46:25Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
- 1:46:26Speaker 4: Edward. Edward. How's it going? Hello.
- 1:46:30Speaker 8: All right.
- 1:46:31Speaker 3: How are you guys doing? We're doing good, and you're
- 1:46:33Speaker 3: doing even better, my friend, because you have a 50-50
- 1:46:36Speaker 3: chance of going to the Jackie Sack.
- 1:46:38Speaker 4: Here are your answers.
- 1:46:40Speaker 3: Number one, Pepsi was the first soda company to offer
- 1:46:43Speaker 3: prizes under the bottle cap, or... Pepsi was the first
- 1:46:47Speaker 3: company ever to use skywriting for advertising.
- 1:46:51Speaker 2: Which one is the lie?
- 1:46:52Speaker 4: Skywriting.
- 1:46:56Speaker 2: Skywriting is indeed a fact.
- 1:46:59Speaker 9: Oh.
- 1:46:59Speaker 4: I'm sorry, Edward. Sorry, Edward.
- 1:47:02Speaker 2: Sorry, Edward.
- 1:47:03Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:47:03Speaker 4: Who's next, Jack? Welcome J. Dean to the program. Hello, J.
- 1:47:09Speaker 8: Dean.
- 1:47:10Speaker 12: Hello.
- 1:47:11Speaker 4: Hello, J. Dean. Hey, do me a favor. Is this
- 1:47:15Speaker 4: a lie or is this a fact?
- 1:47:18Speaker 3: Pepsi was the first soda company to offer prizes under
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: the bottle cap.
- 1:47:23Speaker 4: That is a lie. It is a lie. Way to go, J.
- 1:47:30Speaker 8: Dean.
- 1:47:31Speaker 3: We're going to put you on hold and you can
- 1:47:32Speaker 3: go to the Jackie Sack and pick out which one
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: of those prizes you want. Either tickets to see Orlando
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: City kick the ass of San Diego FC.
- 1:47:41Speaker 4: There it is. Or see Dirty Heads. Dirty Heads or
- 1:47:45Speaker 4: Luke Bryan.
- 1:47:45Speaker 2: And Luke Bryan as well. So congratulations.
- 1:47:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it turns out you guys probably know which soda
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: company it was that was.
- 1:47:51Speaker 4: The first to offer prizes. I would think Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola.
- 1:47:55Speaker 11: Yep.
- 1:47:55Speaker 4: That is the answer. That is why it's a lie.
- 1:47:58Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:47:58Speaker 3: Here's just a couple of quick fun facts about Pepsi
- 1:48:01Speaker 3: before we get to the top of the hour. Again,
- 1:48:03Speaker 3: just in case you didn't hear earlier, we are being
- 1:48:05Speaker 3: preempted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers final preseason game tonight.
- 1:48:09Speaker 3: Thanks to everybody, by the way, who texted us at 77031,
- 1:48:12Speaker 3: letting us know that college football actually kicks off tomorrow.
- 1:48:15Speaker 3: So for tonight, we're going to be ending the show
- 1:48:17Speaker 3: at about 630. We're going to be welcoming in Jaden
- 1:48:20Speaker 3: Grimes with his 8-bit update. Give us the latest news
- 1:48:23Speaker 3: from the gaming world. That'll be coming up real quick.
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: First of all, it's called Pepsi. Do you guys know
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: why it was called Pepsi? This is fascinating.
- 1:48:33Speaker 4: Pepsin acid or something? Indigestion.
- 1:48:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:48:36Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:48:37Speaker 3: Dyspepsia well it's called pepsi because it was invented to
- 1:48:41Speaker 3: cure or ease dyspepsia or indigestion i was this many
- 1:48:45Speaker 3: days old before i learned what the scientific name for
- 1:48:48Speaker 3: indigestion is now i get dyspepsia dyspepsia so now i
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: get why they call it pepsi wow all right pepsi
- 1:48:55Speaker 3: introduced diet pepsi in 1964 okay the first nationally distributed
- 1:49:02Speaker 3: diet cola.
- 1:49:04Speaker 4: Oh, it tasted like ass. It did. It was so bad.
- 1:49:08Speaker 7: Diet soda, even in the 70s and 80s, was just awful.
- 1:49:13Speaker 4: It was just such... Think Tab. Yeah. Think Tab.
- 1:49:17Speaker 7: When they finally got their sweeteners... Their sweetener game, I
- 1:49:20Speaker 7: guess in the 90s.
- 1:49:22Speaker 4: I would say so. They started getting cancer. Yeah. Go figure.
- 1:49:25Speaker 3: We drank through cases of Diet Pepsi as a kid.
- 1:49:28Speaker 3: I don't even know how we did it. All right.
- 1:49:32Speaker 3: In 1985, Pepsi invented a space can so astronauts could
- 1:49:36Speaker 3: enjoy it while in orbit. And then finally, Pepsi's early jingle,
- 1:49:40Speaker 3: Nickel Nickel, was the first nationwide commercial broadcast song.
- 1:49:45Speaker 4: Wild cherry, dog. I'll rip through a wild cherry Pepsi.
- 1:49:49Speaker 4: Is it better than a cherry Coke? I would say so.
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:49:53Speaker 4: Really? And that's weird because I like Coke more than Pepsi.
- 1:49:56Speaker 4: But the wild cherry Pepsi. Wild cherry, man. It's like, uh,
- 1:50:00Speaker 4: imagine cherries, but with like daddy issues, man, this thing
- 1:50:03Speaker 4: is out of control.
- 1:50:07Speaker 11: All right.
- 1:50:08Speaker 4: Well, we can imagine that.
- 1:50:09Speaker 3: So, uh, All right, well, we're going to take a
- 1:50:11Speaker 3: little break. When we come back, like I said, we're
- 1:50:13Speaker 3: going to talk to Jaden Grimes and get his 8-bit
- 1:50:15Speaker 3: update with news on the gaming world.
- 1:50:19Speaker 4: I'm so pumped up for this because this is all
- 1:50:21Speaker 4: about the GTA 6 hacker, and then the demo just
- 1:50:25Speaker 4: dropped on Netflix.
- 1:50:26Speaker 3: I was going to do that story earlier, and I
- 1:50:28Speaker 3: was like, no, we got to save that. We got
- 1:50:30Speaker 3: to save that for Jaden.
- 1:50:32Speaker 4: I'm so pumped.
- 1:50:33Speaker 7: I can't believe, again, every time I'm like, oh, wait,
- 1:50:36Speaker 7: I have to watch the GTA preview because they released
- 1:50:39Speaker 7: it on Netflix yesterday at 3.
- 1:50:41Speaker 4: I watched it.
- 1:50:42Speaker 7: And I didn't, and I forgot to do it at home.
- 1:50:45Speaker 7: I'm driving to work. I'm like, okay, I'll watch it
- 1:50:46Speaker 7: at work. I saw Jaden. He's like, make sure you
- 1:50:48Speaker 7: watch it. And then I just got busy doing stuff.
- 1:50:51Speaker 7: Things around here kept breaking. Matter of fact, we're running
- 1:50:54Speaker 7: traffic reports from 9 a.m.
- 1:50:56Speaker 4: 2012. Weather from yesterday.
- 1:50:59Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:50:59Speaker 7: You know, we're still trying to fix things around here
- 1:51:02Speaker 7: and trying to fix things and do a show at
- 1:51:04Speaker 7: the same time.
- 1:51:04Speaker 4: Is it possible? But that GTA 6 teaser, there was
- 1:51:08Speaker 4: a handful. It's 27 minutes long. I watched all of it.
- 1:51:11Speaker 6: Really?
- 1:51:11Speaker 4: It was interesting to say the least. I'll watch it
- 1:51:14Speaker 4: when I get home tonight. And it was odd because
- 1:51:16Speaker 4: I loved it. I loved it. I loved it. I
- 1:51:18Speaker 4: loved it.
- 1:51:19Speaker 8: Ah.
- 1:51:20Speaker 4: There's something that jumps out to me that makes this
- 1:51:22Speaker 4: whole game kind of weird now that I think about it.
- 1:51:25Speaker 4: Back to love it. I love it. I love it. Really?
- 1:51:28Speaker 4: That was my experience watching the trailer.
- 1:51:30Speaker 3: Okay, we did hear something yesterday from someone who said
- 1:51:33Speaker 3: it looked really photorealistic, and then all of a sudden
- 1:51:36Speaker 3: it didn't.
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: But I don't know if that's the same preview.
- 1:51:39Speaker 4: And I hate that because he didn't.
- 1:51:41Speaker 7: Craps on it and then it just kind of lessens
- 1:51:44Speaker 7: the experience it's.
- 1:51:45Speaker 4: Not even graphical i think the graphics are going to
- 1:51:47Speaker 4: be slap your mama good it's going to be an
- 1:51:50Speaker 4: outstanding off of just that trailer but there's one story
- 1:51:54Speaker 4: dynamic that i'm like well this is kind of weird
- 1:51:57Speaker 4: i don't know if i can suspend my imagination enough
- 1:52:00Speaker 4: for that.
- 1:52:01Speaker 3: Okay i'm looking forward to hearing that because i'm happy
- 1:52:03Speaker 3: to hear it's not the graphics because that's one of
- 1:52:05Speaker 3: the things that i mean makes me want to go
- 1:52:07Speaker 3: buy the damn game it's literally like watching a movie.
- 1:52:10Speaker 4: You're not playing video games, Deb. Who are you kidding? No,
- 1:52:13Speaker 4: I'm not, but I could use my husband. I don't
- 1:52:16Speaker 4: know if I could, actually. He has a what?
- 1:52:18Speaker 9: PS4?
- 1:52:18Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:52:19Speaker 4: Yeah, you got to step that game up. PS5, at least.
- 1:52:22Speaker 4: Is he using the PS4? Not really, right? Not as much.
- 1:52:26Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:52:27Speaker 4: Just watch the trailer and say that you beat the game.
- 1:52:31Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:52:32Speaker 4: Well, we're going to do that next.
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: We're going to hear from Jaden Grimes in his 8-bit
- 1:52:35Speaker 3: update next, so keep it here on Real Radio. What
- 1:52:37Speaker 3: a 4.1. From the Clausman Law Traffic Center, car crash,
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: call Clausman Law, ClausmanLaw.com.
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: It's time for a Talk Back Purge on the Jim
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: Colbert Show.
- 1:52:57Speaker 8: Happy Friday, crew. Yeah, this postpartum... psychosis is really difficult
- 1:53:04Speaker 8: you know it's not actually a diagnosis in the DSM
- 1:53:08Speaker 8: handbook which is the psychiatry diagnosis bible essentially and there's
- 1:53:15Speaker 8: no standard of treatment for this because it's so little
- 1:53:20Speaker 8: is known about it that people don't know how to
- 1:53:22Speaker 8: diagnose it it's just really sad.
- 1:53:25Speaker 9: I agree not only do I do the thing in
- 1:53:28Speaker 9: the morning with the sheets I don't make my bed
- 1:53:30Speaker 9: right away but Also, before I go to bed, I
- 1:53:33Speaker 9: pull the sheets back and I let the AC cool
- 1:53:36Speaker 9: my sheets down for about 15 or so minutes.
- 1:53:40Speaker 4: Sometimes more.
- 1:53:40Speaker 9: It just depends on when I think about it. And
- 1:53:42Speaker 9: then when I get in, my sheets are nice and cool.
- 1:53:45Speaker 4: Oops. What can I say? I tried.
- 1:53:51Speaker 12: Make sure you listen to the whole song and not
- 1:53:54Speaker 12: just read the title.
- 1:53:56Speaker 4: Like the front of a book. Duh. The cover.
- 1:54:00Speaker 8: Oh, well.
- 1:54:04Speaker 15: Everybody knows Rod Stewart is the ultimate sailor.
- 1:54:08Speaker 4: Just look at all those boatmen he had in his stomach. Easy. Oh!
- 1:54:15Speaker 4: Jack Jack, I pulled the tractor over.
- 1:54:19Speaker 9: And along with....
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: I forgot. Dude, you shouldn't even be driving.
- 1:54:29Speaker 9: You shouldn't even be on a tractor, man.
- 1:54:32Speaker 14: So I totally misunderstood the assignment. My brain went immediately
- 1:54:38Speaker 14: to kimchi-flavored eggnog. Because those are both things I love,
- 1:54:43Speaker 14: but would never eat them at the same sitting.
- 1:54:48Speaker 4: What better way to end? A purge. Exactly.
- 1:54:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that would be a purge. Kimchi eggnog.
- 1:54:56Speaker 4: I tipped her once in Bangladesh.
- 1:54:59Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show on Real Radio 104.1.
- 1:55:03Speaker 3: Hope you're having a wonderful Friday evening. Jim will be
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: back with us on Monday. You've got Deb, Jack, and Ross.
- 1:55:10Speaker 3: And every Friday around this time, we like to do
- 1:55:12Speaker 3: a little thing we called 8-Bit Update.
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: It's game time on Real Radio. Get ready for the
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: 8-bit update. Your quick hit on gaming news, reviews, and
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: a little chaos as Pop Pop tries gaming.
- 1:55:27Speaker 4: The 8-Bit Update with Jaden starts now. Put your hands
- 1:55:30Speaker 4: together for Jaden Grimes! Yay!
- 1:55:34Speaker 2: I just want to go on record saying I prefer
- 1:55:36Speaker 2: your hair long.
- 1:55:37Speaker 4: I do too. It's alright.
- 1:55:38Speaker 18: You know, I got this haircut just for Jimmy, and
- 1:55:40Speaker 18: he's not even here.
- 1:55:41Speaker 4: I didn't even notice you got your haircut. Well, I'm
- 1:55:43Speaker 4: still wearing the hat.
- 1:55:44Speaker 6: Come on.
- 1:55:46Speaker 4: I'll show you afterwards. It's pretty short.
- 1:55:47Speaker 3: You see how the dad got so happy.
- 1:55:50Speaker 2: He's like, hey, you got your haircut.
- 1:55:52Speaker 4: Good job, son. Thank you.
- 1:55:54Speaker 18: I miss my football helmet of a head. Yeah, I
- 1:55:58Speaker 18: really do. The one thing I've learned about cutting my hair,
- 1:56:01Speaker 18: by the way, is none of my hats fit anymore.
- 1:56:03Speaker 18: I have to resize my hats because my hair took
- 1:56:06Speaker 18: up so much space in the hat.
- 1:56:08Speaker 4: Wow so was it like a locks of love thing
- 1:56:11Speaker 4: though for jim or am i missing that.
- 1:56:15Speaker 10: No he's not donating his hair i mean if he
- 1:56:18Speaker 10: wants it he could have it i'll go get it
- 1:56:20Speaker 10: up off the hair hair cutters.
- 1:56:22Speaker 4: Floor that way he wants it but he cannot have it.
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: Well jayden right before you came in the guys were
- 1:56:30Speaker 3: talking about uh Well, Jack, unfortunately, has not had the
- 1:56:34Speaker 3: opportunity to watch the first 27 minutes of GTA 6
- 1:56:37Speaker 3: that was released on Netflix yesterday.
- 1:56:39Speaker 4: I've been busy, bud. I watched it. My wife watched it.
- 1:56:42Speaker 4: My son watched it, Jack. That's not right. That's not good.
- 1:56:46Speaker 4: That's not right. Yeah, it is questionable parenting, but the
- 1:56:49Speaker 4: point still stands. You're not a real gamer.
- 1:56:52Speaker 18: Ross, my first video game ever was GTA 4. Is
- 1:56:55Speaker 18: your kid's first game going to be GTA 6? Yeah, dude.
- 1:56:58Speaker 18: My kid's first game is the.
- 1:57:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:57:00Speaker 13: Oh, yeah.
- 1:57:01Speaker 4: I'm already showing them terrible things. He's going to... They're good.
- 1:57:05Speaker 8: He?
- 1:57:05Speaker 4: Do you have a son or a daughter? I'm sorry. Well,
- 1:57:08Speaker 4: I haven't asked him yet. No, it's a dude. That's
- 1:57:11Speaker 4: what I thought. I was like, oh, baby has a daughter.
- 1:57:13Speaker 4: I don't want people to think I'm... Yeah, no, it's fine.
- 1:57:16Speaker 4: Never mind. Yeah, just forget about it. He's a dude.
- 1:57:18Speaker 4: He's a straight-up dude. He's going to be a great
- 1:57:20Speaker 4: human one day with the things you're showing him. I
- 1:57:22Speaker 4: hope so.
- 1:57:23Speaker 18: Yeah, well, there was so much yesterday on Netflix. It
- 1:57:26Speaker 18: was 27 minutes long, so I already know I'm going
- 1:57:28Speaker 18: to forget some things. But here's some of the things
- 1:57:30Speaker 18: that I noticed and I thought that were the coolest
- 1:57:33Speaker 18: bit of this whole breakdown.
- 1:57:34Speaker 3: Because I know Ross said that he loved it, loved it,
- 1:57:37Speaker 3: loved it. I'm not sure I'm going to be able
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: to follow that storyline. Loved it, loved it, loved it.
- 1:57:41Speaker 4: I had that... and that was my experience watching the trailer. Okay.
- 1:57:46Speaker 18: Okay. I, I honestly, there wasn't a part, there was
- 1:57:48Speaker 18: a couple of parts where I was like, and there's
- 1:57:50Speaker 18: like two question marks I have, but for the most part,
- 1:57:53Speaker 18: I love it.
- 1:57:54Speaker 4: I love it. I love it. So like, here's something
- 1:57:57Speaker 4: that I picked that I picked up on that. I went, wow,
- 1:58:00Speaker 4: I've never seen that. And then one of the opening
- 1:58:02Speaker 4: shots of the trailer, and this is all gameplay footage
- 1:58:04Speaker 4: for the most part, I would say 80, 90% of
- 1:58:07Speaker 4: it is gameplay footage. And that's what was released on Netflix.
- 1:58:11Speaker 4: There's a part where our main character is walking with
- 1:58:14Speaker 4: a white shirt. And this is such a weird thing,
- 1:58:18Speaker 4: but it's something that as a gamer, my set of
- 1:58:21Speaker 4: gamer eyes picked up on. When he moved, of course,
- 1:58:25Speaker 4: I've seen video game characters with a shirt before and
- 1:58:28Speaker 4: his cotton shirt fabric kind of wrinkle up as he walked.
- 1:58:32Speaker 4: But when he walked, they were different wrinkles, right? Really?
- 1:58:37Speaker 4: When he took a left step and then he took
- 1:58:40Speaker 4: a right step, I was like, all right, I've seen
- 1:58:42Speaker 4: that before. But when he took another left step, it
- 1:58:46Speaker 4: was a completely different set of a wrinkle of the
- 1:58:49Speaker 4: shirt from the previous left step. Maybe that was me
- 1:58:53Speaker 4: just on one, picking up on something. Maybe that was
- 1:58:56Speaker 4: the Red Bull talking. I don't know. But that was
- 1:58:59Speaker 4: just such a small detail that all of a sudden,
- 1:59:01Speaker 4: if you do an infinite amount of those that Rockstar did...
- 1:59:05Speaker 4: It just becomes such a believable experience.
- 1:59:08Speaker 18: It's truly like the most realistic GTA game they've made
- 1:59:12Speaker 18: to date. They have over 600,000 animations for the NPCs
- 1:59:16Speaker 18: in this game.
- 1:59:16Speaker 4: GTA 5 only had 50,000. Wait, do those numbers again?
- 1:59:20Speaker 18: So there's 600,000 animations in GTA 6 for NPCs to
- 1:59:26Speaker 18: do different things around the world.
- 1:59:27Speaker 4: That's a non-playable character. So just a random character that's
- 1:59:32Speaker 4: in the city. The other people who populate a city.
- 1:59:34Speaker 4: Which is, yeah. Ross just played a little bit of
- 1:59:37Speaker 4: it for me. It's like literally watching the news in Miami. Yeah,
- 1:59:40Speaker 4: it's insane. Also, they're doing a whole takeover in Miami.
- 1:59:43Speaker 18: They got with the police department and the local government there.
- 1:59:46Speaker 8: Really?
- 1:59:47Speaker 18: And they're turning Miami into Vice City right now. for
- 1:59:50Speaker 18: a promotion for this game. I mean, I've never heard
- 1:59:52Speaker 18: of a game that takes over a whole city. I
- 1:59:54Speaker 18: haven't either, but I mean.
- 1:59:55Speaker 4: I remember when the Simpsons movie came out and they
- 1:59:58Speaker 4: turned a couple of 7-Elevens into Quickie Marts and I
- 2:00:00Speaker 4: was really happy with that. I'd be happy with that too.
- 2:00:04Speaker 4: I hope they do that again for the new Simpsons movie. Yeah,
- 2:00:07Speaker 4: it was pretty dope. I still have the memorabilia. Let's
- 2:00:10Speaker 4: move on. Okay. All right, all right, all right. But
- 2:00:14Speaker 4: another thing in the trailer, here's another weird thing that
- 2:00:16Speaker 4: I picked up on. Our character is in an elevator.
- 2:00:19Speaker 4: You see so many copy and pastes when it comes
- 2:00:23Speaker 4: to panels on walls, when it comes to video games.
- 2:00:26Speaker 4: Every panel of the wood grain in the elevator was unique.
- 2:00:32Speaker 4: There was no... copy and paste of a wood grain
- 2:00:36Speaker 4: panel inside this elevator.
- 2:00:37Speaker 3: I gotta give you credit for paying that much attention.
- 2:00:40Speaker 4: I was about to say, isn't it so funny?
- 2:00:41Speaker 3: Between wood paneling and wrinkles, I gotta say, I think
- 2:00:44Speaker 3: Ross is on the spectrum too.
- 2:00:45Speaker 2: He might be with Jack. And myself and be level one.
- 2:00:48Speaker 4: You guys were level two. You guys were level one, dude.
- 2:00:51Speaker 4: I showed up. They just gave me a yellow belt.
- 2:00:57Speaker 4: But I'm just a little aware of what video games
- 2:01:02Speaker 4: and the boundaries that usually they struggle with. Great example,
- 2:01:05Speaker 4: there's a mirror in the video game. Do you know
- 2:01:09Speaker 4: the history of mirrors in video games?
- 2:01:11Speaker 6: No.
- 2:01:12Speaker 4: And how they have forever been the white whale of programming?
- 2:01:16Speaker 4: Because it's been so hard to program a successful mirror
- 2:01:20Speaker 4: in a video game. I would imagine. Because you have
- 2:01:22Speaker 4: to flip everything and then it just quadruples the power
- 2:01:26Speaker 4: that's needed for that video game. Check out the mirrors
- 2:01:29Speaker 4: in GTA 6. It's an engineering marvel.
- 2:01:33Speaker 18: You see how crazy we're going for GTA 6? They
- 2:01:35Speaker 18: got him looking at elevator walls, wrinkles in shirts.
- 2:01:38Speaker 2: Wood paneling, I know.
- 2:01:39Speaker 4: I mean, jeez.
- 2:01:40Speaker 18: A couple of things I noticed from a gameplay perspective
- 2:01:43Speaker 18: is Red Dead Redemption 2 was straight.
- 2:01:45Speaker 4: Up just like.
- 2:01:46Speaker 2: Now you got his attention. Yeah, you see how quick
- 2:01:48Speaker 2: he turned over?
- 2:01:49Speaker 4: He sure did.
- 2:01:49Speaker 18: Red Dead Redemption 2 was kind of like a test
- 2:01:51Speaker 18: ground for GTA 6. You know how when you talk
- 2:01:53Speaker 18: to civilians in Red Dead, you hold the trigger and
- 2:01:56Speaker 18: it pops up antagonize and all that? It's the same
- 2:01:59Speaker 18: exact pinpoint thing in GTA 6. Even the same camera angle.
- 2:02:04Speaker 18: It's a new camera angle for, I think, the GTA franchise,
- 2:02:07Speaker 18: at least off of the footage that I saw. It
- 2:02:09Speaker 18: reminded me very much of Red Dead. Yeah, no, it
- 2:02:12Speaker 18: really was a test for GTA 6. They also are
- 2:02:15Speaker 18: taking over the weapon system from Red Dead Redemption, so
- 2:02:18Speaker 18: you can only carry... so many weapons, and you can
- 2:02:21Speaker 18: no longer pull out an RPG or minigun out of
- 2:02:24Speaker 18: your jail pocket, your prison wallet, whatever you want to
- 2:02:27Speaker 18: call it.
- 2:02:28Speaker 4: You're telling me I can't boof a minigun? Yeah. Why
- 2:02:31Speaker 4: are you getting realistic on GTA? I can't prison sell
- 2:02:36Speaker 4: a damn rocket launcher? That was the best part about GTA.
- 2:02:41Speaker 4: That was my favorite part. I love having my little
- 2:02:44Speaker 4: massive gun just jump over the back fence, if you
- 2:02:46Speaker 4: know what I mean.
- 2:02:48Speaker 18: The thing that blew me away with this whole 27-minute
- 2:02:51Speaker 18: trailer and everything, this was on the base PlayStation 5.
- 2:02:54Speaker 18: It wasn't a PlayStation 5 Pro. This is the regular,
- 2:02:57Speaker 18: degular PlayStation 5. Regular degular. Regular degular. No fancy add-ons
- 2:03:03Speaker 18: with it. No boosted hardware. My one problem with it, though,
- 2:03:06Speaker 18: 30 FPS is a little outrageous.
- 2:03:09Speaker 4: I'm fine with 30 FPS. I'm not. And that's frames
- 2:03:12Speaker 4: per second. I was going to say, I was like, man,
- 2:03:15Speaker 4: why can't Jim be here for that? I got you.
- 2:03:18Speaker 4: I'm thinking about the listeners. But that is a big
- 2:03:20Speaker 4: stickler in the gaming community of 60 frames per second
- 2:03:24Speaker 4: versus 30 frames per second.
- 2:03:25Speaker 3: Oh, you can see the difference in the quality of
- 2:03:28Speaker 3: the visuals.
- 2:03:28Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 2:03:28Speaker 4: Well, friendly reminder, your average movie, I think, is at
- 2:03:32Speaker 4: like 24 frames a second. So it really depends on
- 2:03:36Speaker 4: what experience you, to me, what you prefer. But it's
- 2:03:41Speaker 4: also like, it's kind of a black and white opinion
- 2:03:45Speaker 4: for the most part that 60 frames is better. But
- 2:03:47Speaker 4: this game is locked, I believe, at 30 frames on
- 2:03:50Speaker 4: the PS5. Yeah, I don't know if on the Pro
- 2:03:52Speaker 4: it's going to get up to 60.
- 2:03:53Speaker 18: I can't imagine this game gets to 60 with how much,
- 2:03:56Speaker 18: I mean, how much goes into it. Maybe when you
- 2:03:58Speaker 18: get to the PC, you can get it to 60.
- 2:04:00Speaker 18: Maybe even push it to 90 if you have all
- 2:04:01Speaker 18: your graphics down.
- 2:04:03Speaker 4: But I don't know.
- 2:04:04Speaker 18: 30 FPS is a huge deal for me. It's not
- 2:04:06Speaker 18: going to affect me. I'm still going to play it,
- 2:04:07Speaker 18: but it's going to take me a very long time
- 2:04:09Speaker 18: to get used to that. That's just how I feel
- 2:04:12Speaker 18: about the whole thing. The six-star wanted level is returning
- 2:04:15Speaker 18: to GTA 6. I think they removed it in GTA 4.
- 2:04:18Speaker 4: Oh, I hate that. Everyone comes to get you. The
- 2:04:22Speaker 4: military is going to be after you. I mean, come on.
- 2:04:24Speaker 4: I don't like that. I'm the good guy. It's literally
- 2:04:28Speaker 4: the best part of the game. You don't know. You
- 2:04:32Speaker 4: don't know nothing about gaming. Oh, fighting words, Ross. Fighting words.
- 2:04:37Speaker 3: Those literally... Jaden, I cannot impress on you enough. You
- 2:04:41Speaker 3: can say damn near anything to Ross Padgett.
- 2:04:45Speaker 2: The one thing. Look at his face. Look at his face.
- 2:04:48Speaker 2: And he loves that guy across the console.
- 2:04:50Speaker 4: I love that guy. But he plays GTA. And he
- 2:04:54Speaker 4: wants to get the stars because it's the only way
- 2:04:56Speaker 4: he's wanted.
- 2:04:58Speaker 10: Oh, he's throwing it down, Bradshaw.
- 2:05:00Speaker 4: Not true.
- 2:05:01Speaker 7: I drive my car at the speed limit and I
- 2:05:03Speaker 7: obey traffic signs and traffic signals.
- 2:05:07Speaker 4: We're going to fight after the show. I know, Jayden. Really?
- 2:05:12Speaker 4: Jayden really thought I was serious. Were you fun in college?
- 2:05:16Speaker 4: I'm kidding. I'm kidding. I'm sure you were a blast, Jack.
- 2:05:19Speaker 4: He was a blast.
- 2:05:20Speaker 3: You want to hear stories from this guy. Yeah, I'm sure. Yeah,
- 2:05:23Speaker 3: he knocked the lights out on the drug dealer.
- 2:05:25Speaker 1: But anyway.
- 2:05:25Speaker 8: Jack?
- 2:05:27Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. Here are my two little nitpicky complaints that
- 2:05:30Speaker 4: I already am going to have about GTA 6. I
- 2:05:32Speaker 4: should have had them before I saw the trailer. First
- 2:05:35Speaker 4: and foremost, I didn't know how Red Dead it was.
- 2:05:37Speaker 4: Red Dead is one of the best video games.
- 2:05:38Speaker 10: Yes.
- 2:05:39Speaker 4: But my biggest complaint about Red Dead was it was
- 2:05:43Speaker 4: almost too realistic. Where, okay, you want to skin a
- 2:05:47Speaker 4: deer for a pelt? It's going to take six seconds
- 2:05:51Speaker 4: because the animation of skinning the animal... It takes some
- 2:05:56Speaker 4: time every now and then. I'm so used to walking
- 2:06:00Speaker 4: up to an item, hitting a button, and it's in
- 2:06:02Speaker 4: my inventory. Not in Red Dead. You want that pelt?
- 2:06:06Speaker 4: You gotta work for it. You gotta work for it.
- 2:06:08Speaker 10: A little bit.
- 2:06:09Speaker 4: Do you remember how long Jack was searching for blueberries?
- 2:06:13Speaker 4: I wasn't there for this. Do you remember?
- 2:06:16Speaker 7: Listen, one of the challenges, you need to pick and
- 2:06:19Speaker 7: eat four berries.
- 2:06:21Speaker 4: They're not all in the same place. You got to
- 2:06:22Speaker 4: go find them.
- 2:06:23Speaker 2: It took him months.
- 2:06:25Speaker 4: That game's massive. There's a lot of berries. Okay. Thank you, Jayden.
- 2:06:30Speaker 4: You're welcome. I got your back.
- 2:06:33Speaker 3: I was impressed with the search for berries. I was
- 2:06:35Speaker 3: just amazed at how long it went on.
- 2:06:36Speaker 4: The other second complaint, and I don't know if this
- 2:06:39Speaker 4: makes me against love, I've always been pro-love, but the
- 2:06:43Speaker 4: leads of this GTA 6, it's a couple. Yeah, it's
- 2:06:47Speaker 4: like Bonnie and Clyde. Yeah.
- 2:06:49Speaker 8: Right?
- 2:06:49Speaker 2: It's very Gone in 60 Seconds.
- 2:06:52Speaker 4: I've not seen that.
- 2:06:53Speaker 3: I haven't either, but it reminds me of the badass
- 2:06:55Speaker 3: bitch with the thing in the car.
- 2:06:56Speaker 4: GTA 4, you're playing a Russian gangster... Nico Bellic. Yeah,
- 2:07:03Speaker 4: you're talking... Nico, right? Yeah, Nico Bellic. And then GTA V,
- 2:07:07Speaker 4: you're playing three essentially... I don't want to say gangsters,
- 2:07:12Speaker 4: but you'll call them gangsters. Two gangsters and one crackhead.
- 2:07:15Speaker 5: And then.
- 2:07:16Speaker 4: Show title. And it's the greatest... That's the best video
- 2:07:19Speaker 4: game character of all time in Trevor. Oh, absolutely. I
- 2:07:22Speaker 4: agree with you. I'll die on that hill. That's the
- 2:07:23Speaker 4: Cartman in the digital video game world. Then GTA VI, though...
- 2:07:29Speaker 4: They're in love. And in this trailer, you see a
- 2:07:32Speaker 4: firefight with police officers. They are mowing down authorities. And
- 2:07:39Speaker 4: it just took me out of it of going like, oh,
- 2:07:42Speaker 4: there's no marriage where this would fly. You know what
- 2:07:48Speaker 4: the amount of counseling is? You would need, like, this
- 2:07:52Speaker 4: is just abusive relationship. Someone, I saw this Netflix doc.
- 2:07:57Speaker 4: It's called Worst Ex Ever. and like it kind of
- 2:08:01Speaker 4: took me out knowing that like here are these two
- 2:08:04Speaker 4: passionate lovers but just I mean mass I don't know.
- 2:08:09Speaker 4: It was weird. Maybe I'll get back on board, but
- 2:08:12Speaker 4: it was just weird seeing two young lovers just cause
- 2:08:14Speaker 4: so much bloodshed. I mean, you know, I kind of
- 2:08:17Speaker 4: like it. Let them do what they want to do.
- 2:08:19Speaker 3: What was that movie with American-born monsters? About the young
- 2:08:26Speaker 3: couple who traveled the country just laying waste in a
- 2:08:29Speaker 3: crime spree.
- 2:08:30Speaker 4: Natural born killers.
- 2:08:31Speaker 3: Natural born killers. I mean, they sound like the couple
- 2:08:35Speaker 3: from that movie.
- 2:08:35Speaker 18: They are a little bit. I don't know if you
- 2:08:37Speaker 18: saw this. You have to go on dates and stuff
- 2:08:40Speaker 18: with Lucia.
- 2:08:41Speaker 4: Really? So the story mode is very expansive. Yeah, she's
- 2:08:45Speaker 4: pretty hot. It's not even a pretty hot, dude. She's hot, dude.
- 2:08:51Speaker 4: I've listened. I've... A lone time, is it, Ross? It's
- 2:08:57Speaker 4: not a lone time, but the only reason why I'm
- 2:08:59Speaker 4: this aggressive is because you saw the narrative online that
- 2:09:02Speaker 4: she was mid, and I'm like, look at that digital
- 2:09:05Speaker 4: fat ass. Are you kidding me? If that's mid, take
- 2:09:11Speaker 4: me off this planet. That's a light-skinned baddie if I've
- 2:09:14Speaker 4: ever seen one. It is. Hot caliente mamacita.
- 2:09:19Speaker 3: Oh, so she's a Latina. She is Latina, and she
- 2:09:21Speaker 3: is a smoke show. Then she's got that coconut back end.
- 2:09:23Speaker 4: Yeah, there you go. Oh, she does. She does. The
- 2:09:25Speaker 4: coconut back?
- 2:09:26Speaker 2: Oh, the coconut back end where it looks like a
- 2:09:28Speaker 2: couple of coconuts?
- 2:09:29Speaker 4: Well, she says she got the back dimples. They coated
- 2:09:33Speaker 4: in the back dimples. Of course they did. It can't
- 2:09:35Speaker 4: be Miami without it.
- 2:09:37Speaker 18: Everybody, every NPC that's a woman is going to have
- 2:09:39Speaker 18: them back nipples in this game.
- 2:09:41Speaker 4: Every single one. It's insane to me, right, that I'm
- 2:09:43Speaker 4: coming to the defense of a fake fictional character. But
- 2:09:46Speaker 4: I had to say it because people are like, oh,
- 2:09:48Speaker 4: she's ugly. Oh, Rockstar didn't even give us a hot girl.
- 2:09:51Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, my God, the Internet has ruined your standards.
- 2:09:55Speaker 4: She's beautiful.
- 2:09:56Speaker 18: She's fake, but she's beautiful. Doesn't matter if she's fake, Ross.
- 2:10:00Speaker 18: You love her, and that's what matters. got nice stuff
- 2:10:04Speaker 18: yeah yeah what ross said well we talked about realism
- 2:10:07Speaker 18: a little bit you right you have to now fill
- 2:10:09Speaker 18: your car up with gas in this game as well
- 2:10:11Speaker 18: to even make it a little more realistic yeah wow
- 2:10:13Speaker 18: so you can't just.
- 2:10:13Speaker 7: Say you stop at red light you stop at stop
- 2:10:16Speaker 7: signs you yield to pedestrians and you get gas.
- 2:10:19Speaker 2: Yeah no probably not fun in college.
- 2:10:20Speaker 4: No definitely not fun in college you pull out your
- 2:10:23Speaker 4: phone in gta6 and you're like oh great the straight
- 2:10:25Speaker 4: of hormuz got hit again Speaking of that. Can't afford it.
- 2:10:32Speaker 4: You can doom scroll in GTA 6. No way.
- 2:10:34Speaker 18: They have their own social media on your phone in
- 2:10:37Speaker 18: this game. GTA 6 has its own in-game social media.
- 2:10:41Speaker 4: Oh, that is awesome. Isn't that wild? I mean, this
- 2:10:43Speaker 4: is kind of taking over people's lives a little bit.
- 2:10:46Speaker 4: It's the most black mirror thing I've ever heard a
- 2:10:48Speaker 4: young person say is what you just said.
- 2:10:50Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 2:10:51Speaker 4: Yeah doom scrolling within my video game i mean i'm
- 2:10:55Speaker 4: all for it i just overdosed on 2026 2026 i'm
- 2:11:01Speaker 4: here for it but i'm not ready for it.
- 2:11:03Speaker 18: None of us are they brought back weight loss and
- 2:11:05Speaker 18: gaining weight so you have to go to the gym
- 2:11:07Speaker 18: and be careful about what you eat and stuff like
- 2:11:09Speaker 18: that i know dude just let me be fat in
- 2:11:11Speaker 18: real life and in the video game i want no
- 2:11:14Speaker 18: consequences i'm happy i don't want to eat yeah this
- 2:11:17Speaker 18: is boring just go i mean you can get like
- 2:11:18Speaker 18: real skinny in the game i'm sure.
- 2:11:20Speaker 4: Just I eat Red Dead. Yeah, exactly. But I hunt.
- 2:11:23Speaker 4: I hunt. Well, there's no hunting in this. You've got
- 2:11:25Speaker 4: to go to, like, Burger Shop. Hookers.
- 2:11:27Speaker 18: Oh, you could go hunt hookers. I don't know how
- 2:11:29Speaker 18: good they taste, though.
- 2:11:30Speaker 4: That's what Jack is playing GTA 6 for, is following
- 2:11:34Speaker 4: the rules and getting his 10,000 steps. And I'm waiting
- 2:11:38Speaker 4: to ask, like, where do you get that side content, right? Oh,
- 2:11:42Speaker 4: you go to the strip club.
- 2:11:44Speaker 6: Oh.
- 2:11:44Speaker 18: There's a strip club in GTA. That's where you get
- 2:11:46Speaker 18: some good Sky content. That's the first place you go
- 2:11:49Speaker 18: in a GTA game.
- 2:11:49Speaker 1: Come on.
- 2:11:51Speaker 4: Is that not the first place you go in a
- 2:11:52Speaker 4: GTA game? Straight to the strip club. Not my first.
- 2:11:55Speaker 4: Not going to lie. I kind of follow the story.
- 2:11:56Speaker 4: If the story has it, then I'll go.
- 2:11:58Speaker 10: That makes me look bad, doesn't it? I was expecting
- 2:12:00Speaker 10: a resounding yes. No, that just makes you 21.
- 2:12:02Speaker 4: Yeah, that's fair. I mean, digital boobies. I mean, come on.
- 2:12:06Speaker 4: Come on. I think they're going to diss. How old
- 2:12:10Speaker 4: were you when you played GTA 5 when it came out?
- 2:12:13Speaker 4: GTA 5?
- 2:12:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:12:14Speaker 4: I was like four.
- 2:12:15Speaker 10: Four?
- 2:12:15Speaker 4: I was four years old when I played GTA 4. Oh, God.
- 2:12:19Speaker 7: Brian, we got to talk about that. No, GTA V, though,
- 2:12:22Speaker 7: had the strip club as well. Yeah, I was like
- 2:12:25Speaker 7: 9 or 10 when that came out. So, yeah, that
- 2:12:27Speaker 7: was definitely the first place I went to when I
- 2:12:29Speaker 7: was about 9 or 10 for sure.
- 2:12:30Speaker 4: If I was 9 or 10, that's where I would go.
- 2:12:32Speaker 4: It's so funny. Maybe he was fun in college. We
- 2:12:34Speaker 4: keep flipping back and forth. He's going to the strip
- 2:12:36Speaker 4: club and everything now. It was always funny going to
- 2:12:39Speaker 4: a GTA strip club because, like, you would see some jiggle, right?
- 2:12:45Speaker 4: Am I making that up? You'd see some jiggle. Yeah.
- 2:12:48Speaker 4: And then you'd be like, oh, you would think they
- 2:12:49Speaker 4: would be fake here. That's like a triple entendre for
- 2:12:55Speaker 4: the people in the back, baby. Let's ride.
- 2:12:59Speaker 18: I will say, Jason, the main character, seems really dull. Like,
- 2:13:02Speaker 18: the dude's really boring. I didn't get any type of
- 2:13:05Speaker 18: humor from him once in that trailer. Like, it was
- 2:13:07Speaker 18: like just a straight pencil. That's how, like, just straight
- 2:13:11Speaker 18: and boring he is.
- 2:13:12Speaker 4: There's no character.
- 2:13:12Speaker 2: Like, follows the traffic laws.
- 2:13:14Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 2:13:14Speaker 2: Stops at the red lights.
- 2:13:15Speaker 4: Settles down. Goes hunting and eats food digitally. Doesn't know
- 2:13:19Speaker 4: about the jiggle of the, you know. He probably knows
- 2:13:21Speaker 4: about the jiggle. Before I hire this hooker, let me
- 2:13:23Speaker 4: get my digital activia.
- 2:13:25Speaker 18: Let me post on my digital social media real quick.
- 2:13:29Speaker 7: Jaden, I will be watching this trailer tonight when I
- 2:13:32Speaker 7: get home. However, what was the news last week? You
- 2:13:35Speaker 7: had the news of the leak, and then there were reports.
- 2:13:39Speaker 7: What is the latest on the guy who got access
- 2:13:42Speaker 7: to an early version of the game and posted it online?
- 2:13:46Speaker 4: Yeah, Mr. Cyber Leak. The story's kind of crazy.
- 2:13:49Speaker 18: So right before the trailer released on Netflix and everything
- 2:13:52Speaker 18: like that, I told you he had a little meme coin, right?
- 2:13:55Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:13:55Speaker 4: I'm not the biggest crypto guy, so I don't know
- 2:13:57Speaker 4: all of this, but he's like... Dumped.
- 2:13:59Speaker 18: He left. He just took all the money he could
- 2:14:01Speaker 18: and left because, I mean, he knew.
- 2:14:02Speaker 4: They're going to find him. But not even that.
- 2:14:05Speaker 18: He has a kill switch for the PC version of
- 2:14:09Speaker 18: GTA 6. He said if he gets arrested, it's on
- 2:14:12Speaker 18: a 24-hour timer he resets every night, and it will hit,
- 2:14:17Speaker 18: and it will launch onto some type of website that
- 2:14:19Speaker 18: people will be able to download if he gets arrested
- 2:14:21Speaker 18: by Rockstar and all that. So I don't know how
- 2:14:24Speaker 18: possible that is. I don't know if he's bluffing or what.
- 2:14:27Speaker 4: That's a pretty sophisticated operation. This guy's smart. I say
- 2:14:32Speaker 4: he's smart.
- 2:14:33Speaker 18: He's kind of leaving a trail behind because GTA fans,
- 2:14:35Speaker 18: Rockstar fans on these subreddits are going after him. They
- 2:14:38Speaker 18: are finding out who he is. They're finding out little details.
- 2:14:41Speaker 18: It's kind of weird, actually. Have you ever seen the
- 2:14:44Speaker 18: documentary Don't Mess With Cats?
- 2:14:46Speaker 3: I was just about to say, have you ever seen
- 2:14:48Speaker 3: Don't Mess With Cats? I've never seen it because there's
- 2:14:51Speaker 3: obvious reasons, but That's the first example we ever saw
- 2:14:55Speaker 3: of the internet finding your ass.
- 2:14:56Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's exactly what's happening to this guy right now.
- 2:15:00Speaker 4: It's so easy to talk about maybe a bad thing
- 2:15:04Speaker 4: happening to a big, giant corporation, but I just want
- 2:15:07Speaker 4: to throw this out here and clarify. I am against this.
- 2:15:10Speaker 4: We should not be pro this leak. I'm not for
- 2:15:14Speaker 4: this leak.
- 2:15:14Speaker 2: You're not for vigilante.
- 2:15:16Speaker 4: Do I find it extremely interesting? I'm curious to see
- 2:15:19Speaker 4: what the end result is. But for me to be
- 2:15:21Speaker 4: pro the leak, that means that I'm also disrespecting the heroic,
- 2:15:26Speaker 4: enormous amount of work done. that rockstar and these developers
- 2:15:31Speaker 4: have made i'm here for the argument with physical versus
- 2:15:34Speaker 4: digital media but i still want to appreciate any team's
- 2:15:39Speaker 4: hard work that was led by a human with a
- 2:15:41Speaker 4: director that was saying let's make that shinier make tune
- 2:15:46Speaker 4: this up i want to respect that the best that
- 2:15:48Speaker 4: i can so i even though i find the leak
- 2:15:50Speaker 4: cool i'm anti-leak.
- 2:15:51Speaker 18: I completely agree with you and rockstar actually put out
- 2:15:54Speaker 18: a statement revolving these leaks and they i mean to
- 2:15:57Speaker 18: They basically said, yeah, we see them.
- 2:16:00Speaker 4: Okay, well, you know, it sucks that they did this. Yeah,
- 2:16:02Speaker 4: it sucks that they did this. It upsets us, but
- 2:16:04Speaker 4: what are we going to do? So put your hands
- 2:16:06Speaker 4: together for Jaden Grimes!
- 2:16:07Speaker 5: Yay!
- 2:16:10Speaker 3: I wonder how often you guys are going to watch
- 2:16:12Speaker 3: this 27-minute trailer until the game comes out in November.
- 2:16:15Speaker 4: Can I say every day? Yeah, we're going to have
- 2:16:17Speaker 4: a powwow right now. All right, every day.
- 2:16:19Speaker 3: So not only do we want to thank you, Jayden,
- 2:16:20Speaker 3: thank you as always for coming in on Fridays and

- 2:16:46Speaker 3: think we had a question of the day, but did we?
- 2:16:48Speaker 6: We did.

- 2:16:53Speaker 4: do you think it fell? Oh, I'm going to go.

- 2:16:57Speaker 4: No, 53% said yes. Wow, okay. So there you have it.
- 2:17:01Speaker 3: All right, like we said earlier, we are being preempted
- 2:17:04Speaker 3: by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with their final preseason game.
