- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. So Congress is going to pick back up
- 0:07with their conversations with Jeffrey Epstein adjacent people this week
- 0:13by talking with Katherine Rumler. And if you recall, she
- 0:17was the big shot lawyer from Goldman Sachs that was
- 0:22very very friendly with Jeffrey Epstein, friendly enough that Jeffrey
- 0:26Epstein was buying her gifts. And of course Miss Rumler
- 0:31was involved in Jeffrey Epstein's planning stages, if you will,
- 0:35when he was in trouble. Now, she'll deny that, but
- 0:38we saw the emails, so she can deny it all
- 0:41she wants, but we saw what she was saying to
- 0:44him in the emails, We saw his responses, and of
- 0:47course we can come to our own conclusions. But as
- 0:51far as people that played a key role in Jeffrey
- 0:54Epstein's day to day business, Katherine Rumler is not it.
- 0:58But she certainly has a story to tell and I'm
- 1:02interested to see just how much of it Congress gets
- 1:05from her. So today we have an article from the
- 1:08Independent and the headline Congress to grill Goldman Sachs executive
- 1:12over newly revealed Epstein ties. This article was authored by
- 1:18Sayid as Horror. Goldman Sachs Senior counsel Catherine Rumler is
- 1:23scheduled to testify before a House committee on Wednesday as
- 1:26lawmakers examine her pass relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, renewing scrutiny
- 1:32of the Wall Street firm's decision to retain her after
- 1:35documents released by the Justice Department detailed previously undisclosed contacts
- 1:40with the convicted sex offender. Well, they don't care. I
- 1:44don't know how many times I have to tell you
- 1:45about the financial sector and the role they played, But
- 1:48it was a key role. And if you think for
- 1:51a second the financial sector it cares that Jeffrey Epstein
- 1:54was as sick, degenerate, you are sorely mistaken. The only
- 1:58thing they care about is that they were out vod
- 2:01as being his buddy, as helping him out, as enabling him.
- 2:05That's what they're mad about. Rumler stepped down as Goldman
- 2:10Sachs Chief Legal Officer and general counsel at the end
- 2:12of June after the documents became public. CEO David Solomon
- 2:17said at the time that she would remain with the
- 2:19bank and in an advisory role as senior counsel until
- 2:23his successor is appointed, a decision that has drawn criticism
- 2:27from some members of Congress. Yeah, just cut the cord.
- 2:31You mean to tell me there's nobody else that could
- 2:33take over and do her job. She's the only lawyer
- 2:36that can do what she's doing. I have a hard
- 2:38time believing that, breaking news. None of us, for the
- 2:42most part, are indispensable. You lose your job today, there's
- 2:48somebody else taking that job tomorrow, and the company's moving
- 2:51on and never thinking about you ever again. So you
- 2:54want me to believe that miss Rumler is some kind
- 2:56of special attorney and can only do what she does.
- 3:01I don't buy that for a minute. It's more likely
- 3:04that mister Solomon and the jerk offs at Goldman Sachs
- 3:08they just don't care, or they believe that Epstein was
- 3:12just another tainted member of their disgusting club. Rumler is
- 3:19expected to appear before the House Committee on Oversight and
- 3:22Governmental Reform, which is investigating Epstein, his associate Glenn Maxwell,
- 3:27and the federal government's handling of the cases. The committee
- 3:31has issued subpoenas an interview request to several people with
- 3:34ties to Epstein as part of the inquiry, and we're
- 3:38no closer to the truth. By the way, what exactly
- 3:41has that committee accomplished? What exactly have they done besides
- 3:46ron cover for the administration, because they've done that very well.
- 3:51But besides that, have they gotten us any closer to justice?
- 3:58Have they gotten us to a place where we can
- 4:00look and say, all, right, here we are. Congress has
- 4:04done their jobs, They've made their referrals, They've looked at
- 4:07every single angle they could possibly look at. But is
- 4:10that what they did? Of course they didn't. The whole
- 4:14entire thing has been a gigantic sham from the word go.
- 4:18Congress must use Miss Ruhmler's testimony to pull back the
- 4:21curtain on how Jeffrey Epstein built and maintained wealth, power,
- 4:25and influence while operating one of the most notorious sex
- 4:28trafficking operations in modern history. Representative Raja Krishna Morthi, an
- 4:34Illinois Democrat on the committee, said in a statement, you
- 4:37know not for nothing, But mister Krishno Morthy doesn't know
- 4:41shit about the case, doesn't know the big players, doesn't
- 4:44know who was involved in what He's there for a
- 4:47gotcha moment. And I hate to say it, but the
- 4:50vast majority of people that are involved in this, that's
- 4:54what they're here for. They're a gotcha moment. How can
- 4:57I use this to springboard my career? How can I
- 4:59use this to go after my enemies. It's not about
- 5:03the survivors. It's not about the fact that you and
- 5:05I got screwed completely by the federal government as well.
- 5:08It's about how can I harness this politically to make
- 5:11it a weapon. And when everybody's doing that, the people
- 5:14that are responsible, they're laughing all the way back to
- 5:16the bank. Chrish no Morti also said documents released as
- 5:21part of the soul called Epstein Files suggests Rumler's relationship
- 5:25with Epstein was more extensive than previously understood. Well, we
- 5:29knew they were really close, and I think the emails,
- 5:33like with other cases as far as Epstein goes, just
- 5:37gives us the confirmation that we needed. Okay, yeah, this
- 5:40documents that they were super close, that they were, you know,
- 5:44in contact all the time, and it was a little
- 5:46bit more than getting a little bit of basic legal
- 5:49advice every now and then. Right, So, yeah, Catherine Rumler
- 5:54should explain the relationship. What mister Chrishna Morty saying here
- 5:59that she's going to be able to blow the doors
- 6:01off of it. Basically, I have my doubts. Justice Department
- 6:06records show Roumler exchanged numerous communications with Epstein between twenty
- 6:10fourteen and twenty nineteen, years after he pleaded guilty in
- 6:14Florida in two thousand and eight to a state charge
- 6:17of soliciting prostitution from a minor. A minor can't be
- 6:21a prostitute. Just to reiterate, what he did was abuse
- 6:25a child. That's what he did. The records also indicate
- 6:30that she accepted gifts from Epstein and advised them on
- 6:33how to respond to media inquiries about his criminal cases. Ah,
- 6:37we're just friends, you know. That's what I do to
- 6:39my friends. I help them out with their child molestation cases.
- 6:43I mean, what are friends for? Right? Imagine imagine being
- 6:47a lawyer, even and one of your friends calls you,
- 6:49not a client, not some rando, right, trying to hire
- 6:51you because I understand that everybody needs legal representation. But
- 6:56imagine your buddy calls you and you're a lawyer, and
- 6:59he's like, yo, I need some off The book's advice
- 7:01about these girls that I was diddling. How quick are
- 7:05you hanging up that phone? I mean the second he
- 7:08gets the word out of his mouth, I'm hanging up
- 7:11the phone. And I'm probably gonna slap him if i
- 7:14ever see him again. Call me with that bullshit. But
- 7:19miss Rumler, Ah, come on, let me get another bag,
- 7:22Let me get some more dough. What can you give me, Jeffy.
- 7:26The documents further showed that Epstein called Rumler's cell phone
- 7:29on July sixth, twenty nineteen, the day he was arrested
- 7:33on federal sex trafficking charges, according to law enforcement notes
- 7:37cited in the records. Rumler's spokesperson has previously said she
- 7:42had nothing improper and had no knowledge of any ongoing
- 7:46criminal activity by Epstein while interacting with him as a
- 7:49practicing criminal defense attorney. The spokesperson also said the July
- 7:54twenty nineteen phone call was brief and that Rumler took
- 7:57no action afterward. No, she didn't call it anybody. She
- 8:00didn't try and lean on anybody or reach out to
- 8:03her buddies that worked injustice, right, right, man? Of course
- 8:07she did. Yo. They really think you're dumb. They think
- 8:11you're stupid as fuck. Goldman. Sachs declined to comment ahead
- 8:16of the hearing. Rumler did not respond to a request
- 8:19for comment. In a June letter to Solomon, krishnal Morthy
- 8:24and Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts criticized Goldman's decision to
- 8:29keep Brumler at the firm, arguing that it raised questions
- 8:32about the bank's due diligence and whether they view to
- 8:35her relationship with Epstein as appropriate. Again, they don't care.
- 8:40I wish people would pay more attention. Anybody who thinks
- 8:43that these folks care about you, You're crazy. And when
- 8:47I say these folks, I mean all of them, ro Conna,
- 8:51mister krishnal Morthy, Elizabeth Warren, James Comer. None of these
- 8:57people care, none of them. Representative Rocana of California, a
- 9:03co sponsor of the Epstein File Transparency Act, said that
- 9:06he plans to question Rumler about what she knew regarding
- 9:09people connected to Epstein's crimes. Well, that's going to go somewhere, huh.
- 9:13I'm sure she's going to be jumping through hoops to
- 9:15answer those questions. Congressman Epstein, a financier whose circle included
- 9:21prominent figures in politics, business, Finance, and Academia died in
- 9:27a New York jail cell in twenty nineteen while awaiting
- 9:30trial on federal sex trafficking charges. His death was ruled
- 9:34a suicide. As part of the investigation, the House Oversight
- 9:38Committee has also interviewed former President Bill Clinton, Commerce Secretary
- 9:43Howard Lutnik, and Microsoft co founder Bill Gates, all people
- 9:48that should have been talked to one hundred percent. The
- 9:52problem is everybody has the same story, right, everyone's using
- 9:56the same game plan. Well, I had no idea he
- 9:59was doctor Jeko O, mister Hyde. I never saw anything.
- 10:02I had no idea that a guy that was getting
- 10:05massages three times a day from young looking girls had
- 10:08any kind of odd proclivities. How dare you even assert that?
- 10:14I mean, that's the ridiculous place we're at, and those
- 10:17are the ridiculous excuses that all these people have given us.
- 10:21So I'm just wondering how long are we going to
- 10:25accept that. All the information that goes with this episode
