- 0:12Speaker 2: The World's a regional podcast, Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered, presented
- 0:21Speaker 2: by Toyota dot Com.
- 0:24Speaker 3: The quarterfinal game was the Morocco in France. It's a
- 0:28Speaker 3: good game, you think so.
- 0:29Speaker 4: They're highly ranked, like Norway has played really well in
- 0:33Speaker 4: the World Cup. Allway, mister soccer.
- 0:34Speaker 5: He would just dribble into two guys and try to
- 0:37Speaker 5: have this slick footwork.
- 0:38Speaker 3: But like you got to pass to listen, I played soccer.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I understand, I understand the game, you guys wucagu's allegend
- 0:47Speaker 3: I got a bad case of.
- 0:47Speaker 4: A content to let Belichick take over as the head
- 0:50Speaker 4: coach until he won the fifteen games that he needs.
- 0:52Speaker 6: How many years was that going to break?
- 0:54Speaker 3: Wow?
- 0:54Speaker 6: Also some other news, Alex and I were talking in
- 0:56Speaker 6: the fleet are moving.
- 0:57Speaker 7: To be you?
- 0:57Speaker 6: They're gonna move to aghanist arena. Who I'm the.
- 1:00Speaker 8: Loser who wrote in last week mentioning that I listened
- 1:02Speaker 8: to old shows Evan mock Meet.
- 1:04Speaker 3: It's hugely embarrassing to be mocked by Evan.
- 1:07Speaker 1: This is Patriot's Unfiltered.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Presented by Toyota dot Com.
- 1:14Speaker 3: All Right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:16Speaker 8: It is Wednesday here at Chilette Stadium, and I almost
- 1:20Speaker 8: got that wrong, a special Wednesday show because tomorrow is
- 1:25Speaker 8: Morocco and France, the last World Cup game here at
- 1:29Speaker 8: Boston Stadium. It's a quarter final match, should be a
- 1:32Speaker 8: good one. But we're here Wednesday to do our second
- 1:37Speaker 8: show of the week and follow up from yesterday. But
- 1:41Speaker 8: in the meantime, by the way, it's Paul, it's me,
- 1:44Speaker 8: It's Matt and the Booth and Mike Michael. But on
- 1:48Speaker 8: your long commute from Sharon, you had some time to
- 1:51Speaker 8: think and you came with sort of some not I
- 1:55Speaker 8: don't know if it's a take, but some observations.
- 1:57Speaker 6: Today of the of Mac.
- 2:00Speaker 3: What you mean, Wow, that's up for you to talk about.
- 2:02Speaker 6: No, I was just watching Mac Jones on Busting with
- 2:04Speaker 6: the Boys and that was I think posted yesterday. Always
- 2:09Speaker 6: interesting to hear the perspective of the player who we
- 2:12Speaker 6: spent plenty of time talking about and you know, reviewing
- 2:15Speaker 6: all the decisions that were made around him, and you know, nothing,
- 2:19Speaker 6: nothing earth shattering.
- 2:20Speaker 9: I think it was just interesting to hear kind.
- 2:22Speaker 6: Of Max perspective and now he handled it, and you
- 2:25Speaker 6: know he was big on like you know, it all
- 2:27Speaker 6: kind of started when Josh lest you know that was
- 2:29Speaker 6: like and saying, you would have liked the chance in
- 2:32Speaker 6: his second year to you know, have built on what
- 2:34Speaker 6: they had. And you know that at one point that
- 2:37Speaker 6: he thought Bill was going to be the one calling
- 2:39Speaker 6: plays and that they never really hired anybody, and then
- 2:42Speaker 6: that they were kind of figuring it out in camp
- 2:44Speaker 6: as we plainly observed throughout that summer.
- 2:47Speaker 9: He said that they really made.
- 2:49Speaker 6: Some major changes to the offense just before the opener
- 2:52Speaker 6: against Miami, and he just never really found a comfort
- 2:56Speaker 6: zone and as a young player, was never really you know,
- 2:58Speaker 6: comfortable standing up or you And the same thing was happy,
- 3:01Speaker 6: like he said, you know, he's a good guy. We
- 3:02Speaker 6: weren't great friends, but I felt like we were supportive
- 3:05Speaker 6: of each other. But it was, you know, just a
- 3:07Speaker 6: difficult situation with two young quarterbacks and you know, mentioned
- 3:11Speaker 6: the media storm around that and the controversy and you
- 3:13Speaker 6: know just how it was kind of difficult to navigate.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I mean, think about the situation.
- 3:17Speaker 8: You're a second year player and your hard headed head
- 3:22Speaker 8: coach makes a decision that for most people thought what
- 3:27Speaker 8: the hell is he doing? And as a second year quarterback,
- 3:32Speaker 8: you're finding out over time this was a bad decision. Yeah,
- 3:36Speaker 8: and you're trying to navigate through that, and every time
- 3:41Speaker 8: you do, you're building a bigger wedge between you and
- 3:44Speaker 8: the head coach because you're questioning his decision. And probably
- 3:48Speaker 8: there was a point where Bill realized it was a
- 3:50Speaker 8: bad decision, but you know he'll double down. You're already
- 3:53Speaker 8: down there, right, Yeah, and then he had the reaching
- 3:57Speaker 8: out to people at Alabama for help and that was
- 4:00Speaker 8: the end of it.
- 4:01Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, No, he did say that first year
- 4:03Speaker 6: they were you know, him and Bill used to have
- 4:05Speaker 6: breakfast together and that they would joke around, and he said,
- 4:08Speaker 6: you know, something kind of started to change after the
- 4:10Speaker 6: second year, and you know we said, look, we're not
- 4:12Speaker 6: exactly the same kind of personality. We can all see
- 4:14Speaker 6: that Max kind of goofy, and you know he's just
- 4:16Speaker 6: Bill's very serious. You talked about one time Maca scored
- 4:20Speaker 6: a touchdown and did the gritty again and Bill was
- 4:21Speaker 6: yelling at him in the film session for like doing
- 4:23Speaker 6: it away from his teammates. So you know, I think
- 4:25Speaker 6: we could all see that it was maybe a little
- 4:27Speaker 6: oil and water with that relationship.
- 4:29Speaker 9: But again, nothing groundbreaking.
- 4:31Speaker 6: The one thing I did say to Paul that I
- 4:33Speaker 6: didn't remember was I think the Chicago game was kind
- 4:35Speaker 6: of a famous inflection point when Justin Fields went wild
- 4:38Speaker 6: here and and I didn't remember, but Maxa going into that,
- 4:41Speaker 6: they told him it was going to be a rotation,
- 4:43Speaker 6: Like they just grabbed him in the hall and they're like,
- 4:45Speaker 6: and he felt like, you know, I got hurt. I
- 4:47Speaker 6: felt like I was playing okay, we were a couple
- 4:49Speaker 6: of plays away in those first few games that we
- 4:51Speaker 6: could have maybe won, and I didn't really have a
- 4:54Speaker 6: chance to like at least get back there and re
- 4:56Speaker 6: establish myself.
- 4:56Speaker 8: So and that was one of the most painful high
- 5:00Speaker 8: ankle spraints ever.
- 5:01Speaker 10: Yeah, well, you know, anyone ever certainly looked at.
- 5:07Speaker 9: Yeah, but uh no, it's you know, it's so funny.
- 5:10Speaker 6: You get so wrapped up in the current team and
- 5:13Speaker 6: Drake May and how cool it is and we love
- 5:15Speaker 6: Drake May and all the Drake Drake May May and
- 5:18Speaker 6: all that stuff, and you kind of flash back to
- 5:20Speaker 6: those few years with Mac and all the hopes and
- 5:23Speaker 6: dreams that were put on him following Cam Newton and
- 5:25Speaker 6: all that. Uh so I was a little bit of
- 5:27Speaker 6: a you know, a flashback to those all that stuff.
- 5:29Speaker 8: Hadn't happened, we wouldn't be where we are now, right,
- 5:33Speaker 8: I hope.
- 5:33Speaker 3: So I'm glad it happened.
- 5:35Speaker 8: But I do feel a little bad for him, Not
- 5:37Speaker 8: that I'm a huge Mac Jones fan, but.
- 5:39Speaker 3: He got done dirty. Yeah, a little bit. He did
- 5:41Speaker 3: not get a fair shake here.
- 5:43Speaker 6: It seems like he's found his place now, and you
- 5:45Speaker 6: know we I mean, how much time do we spend
- 5:47Speaker 6: talking about Kyle Shannon really likes Mac Jones. You might
- 5:49Speaker 6: trade to remember that was like the big rum of it.
- 5:52Speaker 6: But it seems like he's in a pretty good spot.
- 5:53Speaker 6: I mean, going back to that ESPN rank and rosters,
- 5:56Speaker 6: they say, you know that their best position quarterback, and
- 5:58Speaker 6: they mentioned not only know that brought perties really good,
- 6:01Speaker 6: but you know that they have a good backup that
- 6:02Speaker 6: they that they trust in Mac. Now, so, uh, good
- 6:05Speaker 6: for him, didn't work out here, But just always interesting
- 6:08Speaker 6: to hear the player's perspective on these things that we
- 6:11Speaker 6: talk about every week for six hours on Patriots Unfiltered
- 6:14Speaker 6: and on the pre and post game show and spend
- 6:16Speaker 6: hours and hours analyzing and then you know a lot
- 6:18Speaker 6: of times when this happens, you.
- 6:20Speaker 9: Hear their perspective and you're like, yeah, no, we we
- 6:22Speaker 9: knew what we We kind of.
- 6:22Speaker 6: Had a beat on it, even though we weren't in
- 6:24Speaker 6: the midig of it and everything, you know, like it was,
- 6:27Speaker 6: you know, there's some specific little nuggets here and there
- 6:29Speaker 6: of maybe things we weren't privileged too. But you know,
- 6:31Speaker 6: I remember that practice, Paul where David Andrews got up
- 6:34Speaker 6: at the podium and training camp and was just disgusted,
- 6:37Speaker 6: like you could tell like it just wasn't going good.
- 6:40Speaker 9: And that was you know what mac Relay it is.
- 6:42Speaker 6: You know, during camp we were like this, they knew,
- 6:45Speaker 6: like this ain't going to be good this year.
- 6:46Speaker 4: You know, you guys know me. It's always it's about me.
- 6:50Speaker 4: It's about us now, right, it's about the show.
- 6:52Speaker 8: And I know you guys right from the get go
- 6:54Speaker 8: said this is not a good decision, But.
- 6:56Speaker 4: It's not about necessarily like prettys are one thing, because
- 7:01Speaker 4: I mean, you make predictions, you're gonna get plenty of.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Them wrong too, But this was a failing.
- 7:05Speaker 4: But what I'm saying is when you watch something unfold
- 7:08Speaker 4: and you're analyzing it as it's happening, and you're saying
- 7:12Speaker 4: this is not right, and that's not right, and it
- 7:14Speaker 4: looks like this is happening and you have no idea
- 7:17Speaker 4: because no one's telling you on the record that these
- 7:19Speaker 4: are the things that are happening. And I always liked
- 7:23Speaker 4: to sort of be validated. So I'm not saying like
- 7:26Speaker 4: I'm validated because oh I knew Matt Patricia wasn't a
- 7:29Speaker 4: good choice, like he just as easily could have been
- 7:31Speaker 4: a good job, like predictions whatever, Like I said, But
- 7:35Speaker 4: when you're watching this unfold and you're like, this is dysfunctional.
- 7:37Speaker 4: They look like they're not on the same page. They
- 7:40Speaker 4: look like the quarterback, why is Bill Belichick not saying
- 7:43Speaker 4: the quarterback's name?
- 7:44Speaker 6: What?
- 7:45Speaker 4: While you're finding out that was all true? Like that's
- 7:49Speaker 4: what I kind of like when you when you're able
- 7:50Speaker 4: to analyze something in real time and then you find out,
- 7:55Speaker 4: you know later that you you were pretty close, you
- 7:58Speaker 4: had it all pretty pretty much, that's right.
- 8:00Speaker 8: That's sort of my prediction with the two js. I
- 8:03Speaker 8: just knew the way that the body language, how they
- 8:07Speaker 8: came out in the public, it just it just didn't
- 8:10Speaker 8: feel right.
- 8:11Speaker 3: It didn't feel right.
- 8:12Speaker 4: That's kind of yeah. I think that's a perfect comparison. Yeah,
- 8:15Speaker 4: it just you don't know for sure that it's going
- 8:18Speaker 4: to happen, and you're not necessarily predicting, you're just watching.
- 8:20Speaker 10: You like, this isn't right.
- 8:23Speaker 4: Like I watched, you know, when Tom Brady was here
- 8:26Speaker 4: and the communication in the way things were unfolding, and
- 8:30Speaker 4: you could see it deteriorating at the end. You saw it.
- 8:32Speaker 4: You saw a difference, and then you saw a difference
- 8:35Speaker 4: between rookie year Mac Jones and second year Mac Jones
- 8:38Speaker 4: the way the quarterback and the way the coaching quarterback
- 8:41Speaker 4: were communicating in this case, really not communicating. You know,
- 8:45Speaker 4: we're watching training camp practices and we're like, who's calling
- 8:48Speaker 4: the place? We don't know? Then they're more concerned with
- 8:52Speaker 4: not it's because they didn't know either, you know.
- 8:55Speaker 6: It's like too Max was like you know, sometimes it
- 8:57Speaker 6: was Matty p early on, then it was Joe Judge
- 9:00Speaker 6: Bill was in calling plays.
- 9:01Speaker 4: So sometimes you just watch and you look and you're like,
- 9:05Speaker 4: this doesn't feel right. This is not going in the
- 9:08Speaker 4: right direction now. I also, like, I think Mac Jones
- 9:11Speaker 4: is also and I think certainly everything you guys just
- 9:13Speaker 4: said you feel a little bit for a second year
- 9:16Speaker 4: quarterback was kind of done dirty.
- 9:17Speaker 10: I think two things can be true.
- 9:19Speaker 4: As I've said millions of times about this, I don't
- 9:20Speaker 4: really think he handled any of it well either. I
- 9:23Speaker 4: think he could have been a better teammate and handled it.
- 9:26Speaker 4: I think he's exaggerating about the changes in the offense
- 9:29Speaker 4: and things like that. I had heard stuff that he
- 9:32Speaker 4: was pushing back on the offense very early in the
- 9:35Speaker 4: offseason when they was first, you know, so i'd heard
- 9:39Speaker 4: behind the scenes from people telling me that he was
- 9:42Speaker 4: not receptive to what was going on and he was
- 9:44Speaker 4: pushing it. In other words, he didn't even give it
- 9:46Speaker 4: a chance. So you can be right, which I think
- 9:50Speaker 4: gets back to Jalen Brown a little bit. He can
- 9:52Speaker 4: be right in that he doesn't think the offense is
- 9:54Speaker 4: running as efficiently as with all these three pointers. But
- 9:58Speaker 4: that's the offense, and you're supposed to try to make
- 9:59Speaker 4: it work, and you're openly trying not to make it work.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Yeah, you're sabotaging it.
- 10:04Speaker 6: And he said and said the same thing I think
- 10:06Speaker 6: we talked about with like, you know, meetings like who
- 10:08Speaker 6: stands up in front and who speaks to the offense
- 10:10Speaker 6: and who you know those you know, just the rhythm
- 10:13Speaker 6: of the weeks and how those you know, everything unfolds
- 10:16Speaker 6: with meetings and practices.
- 10:17Speaker 9: I think football players and athletes in.
- 10:19Speaker 6: General just love to have routine and to know who
- 10:22Speaker 6: I'm listening to and know, you know, what the line
- 10:24Speaker 6: of demarcation is. But you know, it just it gives
- 10:26Speaker 6: me back to and this kind of feeds into and
- 10:28Speaker 6: I also I sent you some quotes from from Belichick's book.
- 10:31Speaker 6: I read Belichick's book over vacation as well, and it's just,
- 10:34Speaker 6: you know, it's still it's like, why did it all
- 10:36Speaker 6: go sideway? You know, why why was that the decision
- 10:40Speaker 6: to you know, just stick with Matty p And did
- 10:42Speaker 6: it have to become so insular and you know, we
- 10:45Speaker 6: can't go outside, we can't kind of look to new voices.
- 10:48Speaker 6: And you know, that's that's one of the unfortunate parts
- 10:52Speaker 6: I guess of how that whole thing unraveled over, you know,
- 10:55Speaker 6: because twenty twenty one it was felt rejuvenated. There was
- 10:58Speaker 6: a point of time. I remember that Atlanta win where
- 11:00Speaker 6: it's like, oh, the Patriots are back, Like there are problems,
- 11:02Speaker 6: you know, there was a moment in time in twenty
- 11:04Speaker 6: twenty one where and granted probably Fool's goal at that
- 11:07Speaker 6: point that you know that that what they the teams
- 11:09Speaker 6: that they were beating in the style that they were
- 11:11Speaker 6: doing it, But that twenty twenty two and twenty twenty
- 11:14Speaker 6: three season, man, it was it was just seemed like.
- 11:16Speaker 9: It was circling the toilet right from the get gos.
- 11:19Speaker 8: Yeah, and you know, Bill's personality is one to when
- 11:24Speaker 8: things start to go south, to like you said, go
- 11:27Speaker 8: more insular. Yeah, you know, close that circle because he
- 11:30Speaker 8: doesn't trust anybody. Yeah, well there wasn't trust anyone. He
- 11:33Speaker 8: didn't trust us, He didn't he doesn't trust anybody.
- 11:36Speaker 6: Well, I mean one of the crazy quotes I thought
- 11:38Speaker 6: that that I highlighted and I shared with Paul and
- 11:40Speaker 6: with you Fred was just you know, Bill saying, when
- 11:42Speaker 6: things go wrong in this business, it's usually about ego.
- 11:44Speaker 6: And I was like, yeah, you know, so that was
- 11:48Speaker 6: that was just a couple other you know, tidbits to
- 11:50Speaker 6: share if anybody wants to check it out.
- 11:51Speaker 9: I mean, I thought it was pretty good.
- 11:52Speaker 6: I mean I'd like some more like you know, specific stories,
- 11:55Speaker 6: and it was more kind of like, well, this is
- 11:56Speaker 6: how you got to do it instead of like a reflection.
- 11:59Speaker 6: But some some Vrabel, I mean high praise for Mike
- 12:02Speaker 6: Rabel throughout.
- 12:03Speaker 9: One quote was that, you know, Rabel used to.
- 12:05Speaker 6: Run the conditioning test with the defensive backs like as
- 12:07Speaker 6: a flex because he could. And the other thing that
- 12:10Speaker 6: I thought was interesting and we talked about it a lot,
- 12:12Speaker 6: was he but you know, said my fault on the
- 12:15Speaker 6: on not kicking the field goal in Super Bowl forty two.
- 12:17Speaker 6: I was late to recognize that, you know, I mean,
- 12:20Speaker 6: Paul's got a great round about this too, but you know,
- 12:22Speaker 6: late to recognize how the game was unfolding. And you know,
- 12:25Speaker 6: we always talk about how did the game declare itself?
- 12:27Speaker 6: You know, and and here it was declaring itself that
- 12:30Speaker 6: you know, to Paul's point, the offense really hadn't been
- 12:32Speaker 6: itself since maybe November. Uh maybe that last Steelers game.
- 12:36Speaker 6: I remember I was here. They unleashed on him. But
- 12:38Speaker 6: now interesting, he said, you know, as Bill says his
- 12:40Speaker 6: favorite saying, I F that one up. That's one of
- 12:42Speaker 6: those he has a whole thing on. He just say
- 12:44Speaker 6: I F that one up.
- 12:45Speaker 9: We can all move on and know how to blame it.
- 12:47Speaker 9: And he took he took responsibility for that call.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:49Speaker 10: Yeah, twenty years later.
- 12:52Speaker 9: Well nineteen yeah, I mean that and Stephen goold.
- 12:56Speaker 6: Rob that was mentioned in there. That was mentioned, Thebbie Gold,
- 13:00Speaker 6: the lamenting Robbie Gold go in there.
- 13:03Speaker 4: It's the thing that bugs me about that is that
- 13:08Speaker 4: he makes it out to be just that game, right,
- 13:13Speaker 4: Like in that game the Giants defense was playing. Yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 4: the Giants defense did play better than you know, and
- 13:20Speaker 4: they had a great plan and we all know what happened.
- 13:23Speaker 4: But the offense had been slowing down, and he sort of,
- 13:29Speaker 4: you know, she he should have been recognizing that the
- 13:31Speaker 4: week before against the Chargers, they only scored twenty one
- 13:34Speaker 4: points at home in the AFC Championship game. I think
- 13:37Speaker 4: Brady had a few picks in that game. They had
- 13:40Speaker 4: been slowing down a little. They had a twenty to
- 13:42Speaker 4: ten game late in the year against the Jets, of
- 13:43Speaker 4: all teams.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Teams for figuring them out.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, they had the thirty eight to thirty
- 13:47Speaker 4: five game against the Giants in the last game of
- 13:50Speaker 4: the year, And maybe that's what he was thinking of,
- 13:52Speaker 4: is like, this is the same defense. But to me,
- 13:56Speaker 4: that's all the more reason to say like, we can't
- 13:58Speaker 4: expect to do the same thing we just did five
- 14:01Speaker 4: or six weeks ago against this opponent.
- 14:03Speaker 10: They're gonna decision.
- 14:04Speaker 3: It was a good coach who makes adjustment.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Right, So I just felt like, yeah, that was a
- 14:10Speaker 4: fourth and thirteen. Come on, that was a little that
- 14:13Speaker 4: was I thought Huberts. I thought like, this is my offense.
- 14:16Speaker 4: We haven't been stopped all year, and we're going to
- 14:18Speaker 4: put our big you know what's on the table, and
- 14:20Speaker 4: we're going to show everybody how tough we are. And
- 14:22Speaker 4: I think that was just ego getting in a way again.
- 14:25Speaker 8: Yeah, Yeah, that was a forty eight yard field goal.
- 14:28Speaker 8: It's it's almost a chip shot, right mostly.
- 14:31Speaker 4: And what he's not saying there he's putting he's now
- 14:33Speaker 4: he's saying, I f'd up whatever. And I wonder, and
- 14:36Speaker 4: I'm sure he didn't get into it purposely. I wonder
- 14:40Speaker 4: if I had anything to do with any kind of
- 14:42Speaker 4: a lack of faith in Gostowski at the time. You know,
- 14:44Speaker 4: and I don't know, a lot of people have just
- 14:45Speaker 4: automatically attached that's which I don't think is fair, but
- 14:49Speaker 4: a lot of people, evidently Fred is attached based.
- 14:51Speaker 8: On that you're a confident and your kicker. I don't
- 14:54Speaker 8: think it would be a hard decision. Yeah, yeah, it
- 14:57Speaker 8: would be an easy decision.
- 14:58Speaker 3: I mean, he miss put the three points on the board.
- 15:00Speaker 6: Had he missed some recent kicks, I don't really remember now, Like.
- 15:02Speaker 10: No, he didn't really have it. He didn't really have
- 15:04Speaker 10: any big kicks.
- 15:05Speaker 3: That's the problem. He hadn't the opportunity he had.
- 15:08Speaker 4: I mean, he had to go ahead field goal in
- 15:10Speaker 4: six as a rookie. But it was you know, I
- 15:13Speaker 4: think it was Chargers game. Yeah, I don't think it
- 15:15Speaker 4: was a bomber. It was like forty yard forty five
- 15:17Speaker 4: yards maybe, I don't know it was there. It was
- 15:19Speaker 4: a decent sized field goal.
- 15:20Speaker 8: Anyway, that game, that game, that's the worst contest.
- 15:25Speaker 6: Right, that's the worst one. It's impossible that the worst.
- 15:29Speaker 8: In your opinion, Paul, is that game.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Ah, does that game.
- 15:36Speaker 8: Hurt more than any of the super bowls that we
- 15:39Speaker 8: won feel good about other? Do you feel worse about
- 15:42Speaker 8: that than you felt good about a Super Bowl?
- 15:44Speaker 4: So that's the whole coaches ken under him, Right, That's
- 15:46Speaker 4: when a lot of coaches say it's time to get out.
- 15:49Speaker 4: When the losses hurt, you know, far more than the wins.
- 15:55Speaker 10: You feel good.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it's kind of time to get out that one. Yeah,
- 16:01Speaker 4: I don't know if you would say. I mean, I
- 16:03Speaker 4: would certainly trade in a win for that one, because
- 16:06Speaker 4: I think the undefeated nature would be so much more.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Thirty one yards Oh it was only a thirty one
- 16:12Speaker 4: yard or Okay.
- 16:14Speaker 8: Those fourteen and sixteen Super Bowl wins though, were just unbelievable.
- 16:18Speaker 8: Oh yeah, you know the sixteen one was a building
- 16:22Speaker 8: type of tidle wave that you saw it coming, but
- 16:26Speaker 8: in fourteen was just lightning, I know, hit. You know,
- 16:30Speaker 8: different amazing wins, different types of amazing wins.
- 16:33Speaker 6: Brady got the twenty eight to three mem popped up
- 16:36Speaker 6: again yesterday with a few different places after that.
- 16:38Speaker 9: After the comeback we saw here that was.
- 16:40Speaker 10: What should we go after?
- 16:41Speaker 4: Shifter for this, you want to know, why should you
- 16:43Speaker 4: do a little season desist action?
- 16:45Speaker 6: He keeps using your logo. I don't like that was
- 16:47Speaker 6: in mine. It was two seventeen, not to twelve. That's
- 16:49Speaker 6: how I can always tell. If the time is not
- 16:52Speaker 6: to twelve, it's they got it from somewhere else.
- 16:54Speaker 9: But it's always.
- 16:55Speaker 6: As you see the shootout to last night. The shootout
- 16:57Speaker 6: was it did pretty crazy Fitzland and Columbia. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:01Speaker 6: that's pretty good.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:03Speaker 10: Another riveting is that at times.
- 17:05Speaker 8: Switzerland beating them, is that an upsets.
- 17:09Speaker 6: The World Cup rankings? Were they?
- 17:11Speaker 4: It was funny because we I don't know if you
- 17:13Speaker 4: were it, I was, like I was, it was. It
- 17:15Speaker 4: was a weird matchup. Like I've seen so many different
- 17:19Speaker 4: games or parts of games, and I hadn't really seen
- 17:22Speaker 4: any of those two countries playing Switzerland and Columbia. I
- 17:25Speaker 4: hadn't seen any of their games previously. But I don't
- 17:27Speaker 4: I don't know which one was the better one. But
- 17:29Speaker 4: that's how I figured this out. It's like when they
- 17:31Speaker 4: put them up, they kind of tell you, like who's
- 17:33Speaker 4: supposed to win?
- 17:34Speaker 3: Zach and Fresno.
- 17:35Speaker 8: We're talking about twenty eight three, he said, you know,
- 17:37Speaker 8: you guys got off before Argentina's comeback win yesterday. A
- 17:42Speaker 8: lot of people have compared it to twenty.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Eight to three. Do you think it's a good comparison, I.
- 17:46Speaker 9: Mean, two goals down in soccer seems.
- 17:49Speaker 10: I mean, I think it's I think.
- 17:50Speaker 3: It's pretty similarly eight minutes left in the game.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's pretty similar.
- 17:55Speaker 6: I don't know that. I mean, it kind of goes
- 17:56Speaker 6: back to what we talked about with like your thing
- 17:58Speaker 6: Fred about there's not a lot of like analysis that
- 18:01Speaker 6: goes into like the scheme of soccer, like you just
- 18:03Speaker 6: kind of have to get a shot, you know. And
- 18:05Speaker 6: I when I look at that comeback, I think about
- 18:07Speaker 6: like the sacks that had to happen, the.
- 18:09Speaker 9: Turnovers that need to you know what I mean.
- 18:11Speaker 6: There was like, yeah, it was great, like and it's
- 18:13Speaker 6: really hard to score and you know all that, but
- 18:15Speaker 6: I also think like you had to get more numbers
- 18:18Speaker 6: of things right and you had no margin for error
- 18:20Speaker 6: down the.
- 18:21Speaker 8: End football is it's a series of plays, Yeah, and.
- 18:25Speaker 6: Which is slowed down which there might have been like
- 18:27Speaker 6: this pass and this little that makes it different.
- 18:30Speaker 4: Yeah, that makes it different. But I I mean there
- 18:33Speaker 4: was a million different things they had to go right
- 18:35Speaker 4: for Argentina.
- 18:36Speaker 10: Thing like not that you know, I mean.
- 18:37Speaker 6: It's more slow and like unfolding one by more, going
- 18:41Speaker 6: all the way back to the foul call twenty minutes
- 18:43Speaker 6: after they scored a goal.
- 18:44Speaker 9: Right and like that's just the perfect cross with the
- 18:46Speaker 9: header on.
- 18:46Speaker 4: That and the guy like Fred was all over the defense.
- 18:49Speaker 4: You oh my god, there was a lot that was.
- 18:56Speaker 4: I mean, I think it was comparable. I think you
- 18:58Speaker 4: to score three goals the last whatever it was like
- 19:02Speaker 4: twelve minutes plus. I think it was like seventy eight
- 19:04Speaker 4: was the seventy ninth minute over, so so eleven minutes
- 19:06Speaker 4: plus whatever they put on for extra time, which was
- 19:09Speaker 4: nothing because Argentina had to lead by that time. I
- 19:14Speaker 4: don't I know this is offending like a lot of
- 19:18Speaker 4: our international listeners, but I don't know how you guys
- 19:20Speaker 4: watch that sport. It's so corrupt. It's so corrupt.
- 19:23Speaker 6: How you keep track of time? That's my big thing.
- 19:25Speaker 6: I've grown to appreciate a lot of different things more
- 19:27Speaker 6: about to watch.
- 19:31Speaker 3: It's like just like a mini tablet on their wrists.
- 19:34Speaker 6: I guess it's my thing where I'm just I feel
- 19:36Speaker 6: like I'm so tied to time and like how much
- 19:37Speaker 6: time is left and what is it? And like even
- 19:39Speaker 6: when they got into the you know, the Game of
- 19:40Speaker 6: the night where it was in extra time.
- 19:42Speaker 11: And I'm like, it's still just as complicated. I can't
- 19:45Speaker 11: figure out it's like ninety seven, Like that's when there's
- 19:49Speaker 11: an injury during the stoppage time? Are they adding more
- 19:52Speaker 11: tail here?
- 19:53Speaker 3: They are that's what they do.
- 19:55Speaker 10: They just don't tell you.
- 19:56Speaker 3: They try to.
- 19:58Speaker 8: You know obviously you know, balls out bounds and stuff
- 20:00Speaker 8: like that, but they try to keep it as much
- 20:03Speaker 8: as close to ninety minutes of play as possible, Like legit, play.
- 20:06Speaker 6: Ball is moving like that's like any time it's out
- 20:09Speaker 6: of bounds.
- 20:09Speaker 4: If it's out of bounds, they just keeps going. If
- 20:13Speaker 4: it's an injury or like the hydration breik stuff like that,
- 20:17Speaker 4: or like I assume they add some if it's a goal.
- 20:20Speaker 8: Score celebrations, that celebrations VAR so that ret the whole
- 20:24Speaker 8: time is just like a map.
- 20:25Speaker 4: I mean if you just had the var after that
- 20:28Speaker 4: goal that they took away from from Egypt in that game,
- 20:31Speaker 4: like that had to be four minutes alone.
- 20:33Speaker 10: That delay, well that's between.
- 20:35Speaker 4: The celebration when the guy ripped his shirt off and
- 20:37Speaker 4: they're all celebrating and then they find out they're going
- 20:39Speaker 4: you know right, uh you know, and they only added
- 20:43Speaker 4: four minutes.
- 20:43Speaker 6: Well, it's like the ref union ever be like, hey,
- 20:45Speaker 6: we'd like to not also be the timekeeper, Like can
- 20:47Speaker 6: we just get a timekeeper too? Like why do I
- 20:48Speaker 6: have to call all the penalties they have?
- 20:51Speaker 4: I don't know, if you guys have ever seen it.
- 20:53Speaker 4: But there's a school board and there's a button that
- 20:57Speaker 4: says on a clock on and off, and all you
- 21:02Speaker 4: have to do is when the ref blows the whistle,
- 21:05Speaker 4: you turn the clock off, and when the balls put
- 21:08Speaker 4: back in play, you put it on.
- 21:11Speaker 10: And how many times that's how they do it in
- 21:12Speaker 10: the other sports.
- 21:13Speaker 6: Like at the end of the game and it's a
- 21:14Speaker 6: one goal game and the team is pressing, and you're like,
- 21:16Speaker 6: but the question, I don't know how much times listen.
- 21:17Speaker 3: I have if you did that.
- 21:19Speaker 8: How much longer would the game be if you just
- 21:22Speaker 8: gave it to this Because in all our sports, the
- 21:24Speaker 8: maximum it's is the longest sport we have is sixty minutes.
- 21:29Speaker 8: You know, basketball is forty eight, hockey sixty.
- 21:34Speaker 3: You know, this is a ninety minute game.
- 21:36Speaker 4: But I could even but I could even relent to
- 21:38Speaker 4: you a point about like when the ball's out of
- 21:40Speaker 4: bounds and it's just a throw in, okay, so we
- 21:42Speaker 4: don't have to blow the ref doesn't have to blow
- 21:44Speaker 4: the whistle there. You can just leave the clock running.
- 21:46Speaker 4: Then just stop it. When a guy is hurt, stop it,
- 21:51Speaker 4: when a goal is scored, stop it. If the referee
- 21:53Speaker 4: has to go and look at the var right, you
- 21:55Speaker 4: can do it. We can figure this out. We can
- 21:59Speaker 4: figure this out.
- 22:00Speaker 8: There's a reason, like you know, if you're winning, ball
- 22:03Speaker 8: goes out of bounds, you know, kind of meander.
- 22:06Speaker 4: It's a total strategy. The goalie is all anytime that
- 22:09Speaker 4: you have a lead and the goalie gets the ball,
- 22:11Speaker 4: he goes to the ground and what do you say
- 22:12Speaker 4: this eight he has eight seconds to put it back
- 22:14Speaker 4: and play. Yeah, so there's eight seconds that the clock's
- 22:16Speaker 4: not running. It just keeps.
- 22:17Speaker 8: Running the way that is now at least, you know,
- 22:20Speaker 8: like if I meander, he's just going to add more
- 22:23Speaker 8: time on. So I'm not really getting away with much
- 22:25Speaker 8: right right, you know, I don't know.
- 22:27Speaker 4: They don't add any time for meandering. They only add
- 22:29Speaker 4: time for injury.
- 22:30Speaker 8: I don't know about that, and I don't know, but
- 22:33Speaker 8: I would love to sit down with somebody who really.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Understress Argentine is losing and and explain.
- 22:41Speaker 8: Why they count up and why they do it that way.
- 22:44Speaker 3: You know, Well, it's just to.
- 22:45Speaker 6: Me, it's the end of game, because you know, any sport,
- 22:47Speaker 6: it's a one goal game, it's a one score game.
- 22:49Speaker 9: You're tied to the clock.
- 22:50Speaker 6: I mean especially hockey basketball, like you are like three two.
- 22:55Speaker 10: Thing, how much time has got to go?
- 22:56Speaker 4: What he knows that's good.
- 23:00Speaker 6: Yeah, I just I wonder what it's like as a
- 23:02Speaker 6: player where you're like, I mean, I guess you just
- 23:03Speaker 6: you can't think about the time, like you just have.
- 23:06Speaker 3: To make you know, there's a funny but this way
- 23:14Speaker 3: we never have to stop.
- 23:15Speaker 4: It is funny how many different things like you know,
- 23:18Speaker 4: you you and Evan got into your semantics argument about
- 23:21Speaker 4: like the americanization of sock, you know, like why can't
- 23:23Speaker 4: they just use the term But like it's almost like
- 23:25Speaker 4: they go out of their way for everything has to
- 23:28Speaker 4: be different, Like it's not it's you know, it's not
- 23:32Speaker 4: a final, it's it's it's fun. It's full time, right right,
- 23:36Speaker 4: it's not over time, it's extra time. It's not zero
- 23:40Speaker 4: it's nil. It's not the field, it's a pitch, it's
- 23:43Speaker 4: you know, it's you know, we can't have the clock
- 23:45Speaker 4: go down to zero. We have to have it go
- 23:47Speaker 4: up to nine. Like everything has to be different.
- 23:51Speaker 9: Why, well you don't have to worry about it for
- 23:53Speaker 9: another four years, Paul.
- 23:54Speaker 4: I know that was the only I was the silver
- 23:56Speaker 4: lining of the lossity the other night is well, I
- 23:59Speaker 4: guess I can.
- 24:00Speaker 6: Going on four years and I don't want to be
- 24:01Speaker 6: labor the whole development thing again. But I feel like
- 24:03Speaker 6: my phone was listening to me and I got fed
- 24:05Speaker 6: a ton of stuff over the last twenty four hours
- 24:08Speaker 6: about you know, the development programs and the models over there,
- 24:11Speaker 6: and especially after our game.
- 24:14Speaker 4: I think, but I think I said very specifically yesterday
- 24:17Speaker 4: that the youth sports model in the US is broken
- 24:21Speaker 4: in all sports. Yeah, I don't well, I would never
- 24:26Speaker 4: dispute that. Just it's broken. It could be done in
- 24:28Speaker 4: a much better and more efficient way.
- 24:29Speaker 8: I just watched a short on YouTube with Beckham and
- 24:33Speaker 8: this was he was being interviewed and he said when
- 24:35Speaker 8: he first came over here to play in MLS in LA,
- 24:38Speaker 8: he asked the owner, either the owner of the team
- 24:41Speaker 8: or a commissioner, you know, what's the academy system like here?
- 24:45Speaker 8: You know how many teams have academies and at the
- 24:48Speaker 8: time none of them did. He says, that's got to change.
- 24:51Speaker 4: He was ik' the REVS academy is that new?
- 24:55Speaker 8: That's what he said. He said, there were no academies
- 24:57Speaker 8: at the time. Maybe and I've been about the risk anyway,
- 25:02Speaker 8: I'm just saying what he said. And he said, you
- 25:04Speaker 8: have to have an academy system. That's the only way
- 25:07Speaker 8: you're going to develop in your country because I came
- 25:10Speaker 8: up through academy. Everybody I know came up through some
- 25:13Speaker 8: academy system, right, And he said, now this is a
- 25:16Speaker 8: recent interview. Just now every team in the MLS has
- 25:20Speaker 8: an academy.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:21Speaker 6: One of the things I was fair was just that
- 25:23Speaker 6: over in Europe you're incentivized to develop players and your
- 25:26Speaker 6: program benefits monetarily when you develop good players, whereas here
- 25:30Speaker 6: it's pay to play. Everybody pays, and there's no benefit
- 25:34Speaker 6: to the program if players are successful. It's just about
- 25:38Speaker 6: getting money and trying to win games. So yeah, I mean,
- 25:41Speaker 6: it's it's it's completely different, you know, And that's I
- 25:44Speaker 6: think is it's goes back to what we've talked about.
- 25:46Speaker 9: It just it's so ingrained top to bottom of the.
- 25:48Speaker 6: Culture, the the you know, the whole problems parameters that
- 25:51Speaker 6: they have set up for it. But you know, the
- 25:54Speaker 6: other point was just you know, relegation and that and
- 25:56Speaker 6: promotion and how you know, some people over there wonder
- 25:59Speaker 6: with the MLS. That's what's come in last place, there's
- 26:01Speaker 6: no consequences.
- 26:03Speaker 9: That's interesting way to look at it.
- 26:04Speaker 6: I mean, we joked about relegation where Patriots are playing
- 26:07Speaker 6: a relegation schedule last year.
- 26:09Speaker 4: They know the Baseball League where they had now the
- 26:11Speaker 4: Boston Park League had relegation because they had at the time,
- 26:14Speaker 4: they had a junior park league and it's called the
- 26:15Speaker 4: Yockey League now. But the champ of the Yockey League
- 26:19Speaker 4: would take the place of the team that finished in
- 26:21Speaker 4: last place in the Park League.
- 26:24Speaker 10: Allegation.
- 26:24Speaker 8: Yeah, some incentive, as long as you have enough teams
- 26:27Speaker 8: to support that system, do it.
- 26:29Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean it's it's I mean hockey's going this
- 26:32Speaker 6: way too, where there's academies and all these things opening
- 26:34Speaker 6: up where kids are you know, going to basically zoom
- 26:37Speaker 6: school so that they can play hockey all the time.
- 26:40Speaker 6: And you know, I just wonder, are these in the
- 26:42Speaker 6: best interest of the players and developing the players to
- 26:45Speaker 6: the best level or is this just about give us
- 26:47Speaker 6: your money and your kids can play hockey twenty four
- 26:50Speaker 6: to seven and you know, maybe they'll go play D
- 26:51Speaker 6: three college and you know, and that's great, but some
- 26:55Speaker 6: of these kids I think go in having pro aspirations
- 26:57Speaker 6: and it's you know, I just hate the fact of
- 26:59Speaker 6: take making of parents harder money and selling a kid
- 27:02Speaker 6: a bunch of stuff about you're going to end up
- 27:03Speaker 6: in the pros if you come with us, and he
- 27:05Speaker 6: is no prayer.
- 27:06Speaker 4: That was one element of this. And again I think
- 27:09Speaker 4: we talked about it yesterday. I know Alex was I
- 27:11Speaker 4: thought had a lot of interesting perspective as a former
- 27:14Speaker 4: player about it, and I agree, like the model doesn't
- 27:19Speaker 4: doesn't work. It's not the most efficient model that they
- 27:23Speaker 4: could have. But I just feel like some of it
- 27:26Speaker 4: is sort of overlooked.
- 27:28Speaker 10: Like I think that.
- 27:32Speaker 4: You know, with soccer, I think that there's still like that,
- 27:38Speaker 4: just that lack of passion. Like one of the things
- 27:42Speaker 4: that people were talking about with these programs was the
- 27:46Speaker 4: goal was in US is for a Division one scholarship.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Why is that a bad goal? Why is that a
- 27:55Speaker 4: bad goal?
- 27:56Speaker 9: It's a great goal.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Now, I understand that parents are crazy and every thinks
- 28:00Speaker 4: their kid's going to be a Division one athlete. That's
- 28:02Speaker 4: a different issue. That's a whole different issue. But like
- 28:06Speaker 4: one of the guys that wrote a long passionate Slammy
- 28:11Speaker 4: was a former college soccer player I'm like, what's wrong
- 28:14Speaker 4: with that? Yeah, Like, does everybody that plays a sport
- 28:19Speaker 4: have to aspire to be one of the twenty best
- 28:23Speaker 4: and be on the national team? Whatever many you are
- 28:24Speaker 4: on the US national team.
- 28:26Speaker 3: I guess there's nothing wrong with it.
- 28:27Speaker 8: But if that's the pinnacle, then as a country, you're
- 28:31Speaker 8: gonna fall short.
- 28:32Speaker 4: No, I understand that, but like it just we look
- 28:36Speaker 4: at this as like, you know, in a denigrating fashion,
- 28:40Speaker 4: like what our goal.
- 28:41Speaker 10: Was for to go to college in well, I mean college.
- 28:44Speaker 4: I know a lot of people that if they could
- 28:46Speaker 4: play a sport in college and get their education paid for.
- 28:50Speaker 10: I feel like we're doing all right here.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Let's do It's great? Yeah, how much college costs? He's
- 28:54Speaker 3: all right?
- 28:54Speaker 8: Eight five to five past five hundred is the Hotline
- 28:56Speaker 8: podcast at pitches dot com. Yeah, let's talk about anything. Uh,
- 29:01Speaker 8: Nate in Connecticut.
- 29:03Speaker 7: We can hear you, Okay, all right?
- 29:05Speaker 3: Good.
- 29:06Speaker 12: So this is kind of early for this. I praged
- 29:10Speaker 12: actually probably very early, but the roster cutdown day is
- 29:14Speaker 12: sometime in August, and you know, before you know, it's
- 29:18Speaker 12: going to be right there, right right before us. You
- 29:21Speaker 12: guys have any names you want to throw out that
- 29:24Speaker 12: could be on the possible Cup candidate list names that
- 29:27Speaker 12: probably aren't going to be on the team this year.
- 29:31Speaker 3: So, Mike, you have the it's going to be about.
- 29:35Speaker 10: Guys they're going to get cut the cut.
- 29:38Speaker 9: I mean, otis rees Khalil.
- 29:40Speaker 8: I mean there's a ton of guys' names that who
- 29:42Speaker 8: I don't even know that won't be on the team.
- 29:44Speaker 8: But are you talking more like surprise cuts or because.
- 29:49Speaker 12: I'm talking, uh, you know, mix of anything.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Honestly, I mean it's going to be forty.
- 29:54Speaker 3: Guys cut about, you know.
- 29:56Speaker 4: I don't. I don't have a like a surprise off
- 29:58Speaker 4: the top of my head right now. I'd have to
- 30:00Speaker 4: sort of wait and see what personnel grouping start to
- 30:03Speaker 4: look like a week in and see like a veteran who, Hey,
- 30:08Speaker 4: how come he seems to be running with the Kyle
- 30:10Speaker 4: Tucker Yeah last year?
- 30:12Speaker 6: Hey what happens?
- 30:13Speaker 4: He's not necessarily out there with, you know, with the regulars.
- 30:17Speaker 4: What's going on?
- 30:18Speaker 6: I think I think the more interesting question is who
- 30:20Speaker 6: are the depth guys that make it, because I think
- 30:23Speaker 6: when you look at the starting eleven and maybe on
- 30:26Speaker 6: the offensive side of the ball, I could even go
- 30:28Speaker 6: to like fourteen fifteen sixteen ish.
- 30:31Speaker 9: Who are the guys after that?
- 30:32Speaker 6: Because I feel great about the starting eleven on defense,
- 30:35Speaker 6: I think the defense eleven twelve guys, I mean locked
- 30:38Speaker 6: in great players, not a lot of places I feel
- 30:41Speaker 6: like they need to upgrade if everybody's healthy, of course,
- 30:44Speaker 6: but you know who are the extra defensive lineman, who's
- 30:47Speaker 6: the extra guard, who you know, the tight end, who's
- 30:50Speaker 6: gonna with Julian Hill going out? Who kind of slips
- 30:53Speaker 6: into that spotbacker? You know, linebacker? What guy you know
- 30:57Speaker 6: steps into the role that Jack Gibbons had last year.
- 30:59Speaker 6: So I know who the top guys are, it's just
- 31:03Speaker 6: who are going to be the surprises? And I mean
- 31:05Speaker 6: I was talking on the radio this morning and the
- 31:07Speaker 6: same point I made with the defense of like, you know,
- 31:09Speaker 6: they're kind of stuck in nickel a little bit. I'm
- 31:12Speaker 6: curious how they're gonna be able to get to dim
- 31:14Speaker 6: or down to base and still be really you know,
- 31:16Speaker 6: put their best players on the field. But you know
- 31:18Speaker 6: that the thing that stood out to me last year
- 31:20Speaker 6: he yet a lot of development from players that we
- 31:22Speaker 6: haven't seen in recent years. You know, a guy like
- 31:23Speaker 6: Craig Woodson, I don't think we've seen that recently, where
- 31:26Speaker 6: a rookie comes in, we weren't really you know, we
- 31:27Speaker 6: didn't really know what to expect for him, and he,
- 31:29Speaker 6: you know, pretty much plays the whole season and gets
- 31:31Speaker 6: better and looks like he's playing his best football at
- 31:33Speaker 6: the end.
- 31:34Speaker 9: You know, can that happen again this year?
- 31:36Speaker 6: You know, I'm looking at the roster here and you know,
- 31:38Speaker 6: we saw a little bit out of a guy like
- 31:39Speaker 6: Leonard Taylor last year, Corey Dirten or you guys who
- 31:42Speaker 6: got opportunities and seemingly going into the off season, the
- 31:45Speaker 6: coaching staff looked at them and said, you know, we
- 31:47Speaker 6: don't have to go out and address defensive tackle because
- 31:50Speaker 6: I think what they're telling us is that they like
- 31:52Speaker 6: these guys. I mentioned it yesterday and Badard said, you know,
- 31:54Speaker 6: he thinks they like Elijah Ponder. Can he become an
- 31:57Speaker 6: effective part of this defensive rotation. So that's where the
- 32:01Speaker 6: biggest intrigue to me is, you know, it's a guy
- 32:03Speaker 6: like Braiden Swinson come out of nowhere.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Wow.
- 32:05Speaker 6: Year two, he wasn't. We didn't see anything on him
- 32:07Speaker 6: last year. That's where it's going to be interesting to
- 32:10Speaker 6: me because I could probably rattle off what thirty ish
- 32:14Speaker 6: of the cuts right now.
- 32:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I just don't off the top of my head,
- 32:17Speaker 4: I can't think of one that would be like a
- 32:19Speaker 4: surprise cut, like someone that you go into camp saying
- 32:22Speaker 4: this veteran, because like none of the guys that Mike
- 32:25Speaker 4: just mentioned would be you know, Okay, so Chad Muma
- 32:29Speaker 4: gets cut and kJ Britt stays or the other way around,
- 32:32Speaker 4: Like that's not necessarily a surprise Elijah Ponder or Braiden Swinson.
- 32:37Speaker 10: But does you know some young I don't know, does
- 32:44Speaker 10: a young.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Guard Bryan or does Kayden Wallace?
- 32:47Speaker 10: Okay, okay, so Kayden Wallace.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Does Kayden Wallace all of a sudden ascend to a
- 32:51Speaker 4: level that we haven't seen in his first two years
- 32:53Speaker 4: and he's like a starting caliber right guard and Mike
- 32:56Speaker 4: o Winhu, who's in the last year of his deal,
- 32:58Speaker 4: is now expendable. That to me would be a stunning
- 33:00Speaker 4: cut if something like that were to happen. But you
- 33:03Speaker 4: don't know that that's about to happen until you start
- 33:05Speaker 4: to see it in practice every day, like, hey, why
- 33:08Speaker 4: is Kayden Wallace out there instead of Michael Went's.
- 33:10Speaker 6: A good way, that's a really good way to put
- 33:12Speaker 6: I think you know, not just going into camp knowing
- 33:15Speaker 6: nothing that all this guy might be in the outs.
- 33:17Speaker 6: But that happens all the time in the NFL, where
- 33:19Speaker 6: a younger, cheaper player like.
- 33:21Speaker 4: Dugger was that guy like Craig Woodson had progressed to
- 33:24Speaker 4: the point that none of us had sort of understood
- 33:26Speaker 4: that the coaches obviously did, and the coaches got it right.
- 33:30Speaker 4: I was critical of it, if you recall, I again
- 33:32Speaker 4: not afraid to admit when you're wrong. That's why, Like
- 33:35Speaker 4: I don't really toot my horn on a prediction that's right. Like,
- 33:39Speaker 4: I didn't see Craig Woodson being that caliber of a
- 33:43Speaker 4: starter in year one as a fourth round pick, but
- 33:45Speaker 4: he was. He was pretty steady for them all year,
- 33:47Speaker 4: and I thought he got better as the year went on,
- 33:49Speaker 4: and he made Kyle Dugger expendable. Yeah, and that was,
- 33:51Speaker 4: you know, sort of one of those cuts that Yeah,
- 33:54Speaker 4: I mean, you might not say it was a surprise
- 33:56Speaker 4: because of the contract. People kind of thought maybe he
- 33:59Speaker 4: could go, But yeah, I figure those out as you go.
- 34:02Speaker 8: Loril is in San Francisco. What's up, Loril? Loril, can
- 34:10Speaker 8: you hear me?
- 34:10Speaker 3: Yes? We can.
- 34:12Speaker 7: Awesome, AWO, thank you for taking the call. Actually, I
- 34:15Speaker 7: hate to take you guys back a little bit, but
- 34:17Speaker 7: I just wanted to kind of go back to we
- 34:18Speaker 7: were talking about before to give you more context. I've
- 34:21Speaker 7: been the Patch fans. I was like nine years old,
- 34:23Speaker 7: and I always think about this Bill and Brady theme
- 34:26Speaker 7: that people talk about and one of the things I
- 34:28Speaker 7: always kind of think back to. And Brady was just
- 34:30Speaker 7: on with Kelsey with the Kelsey Brothers and they asked
- 34:34Speaker 7: him about Bill, and I love that he described it
- 34:37Speaker 7: as Bill was the great person, the greatest coach to
- 34:40Speaker 7: have like till Sunday, till the day to the day
- 34:45Speaker 7: of the game, because you'll prepare you for the game, right.
- 34:47Speaker 7: But we've seen Bill get to a point where he
- 34:50Speaker 7: was dysfunctional. If have we ever seen Brady be dysfunctional?
- 34:54Speaker 7: Like we're like, That's what I always think back to
- 34:56Speaker 7: when they compare that conversation. And that's where y'all took
- 34:59Speaker 7: me to. I talked about mac Joel's where he went through,
- 35:02Speaker 7: like we saw dysfunction with Bill when age came and
- 35:05Speaker 7: tenure came. If back then we would have picked Brady
- 35:10Speaker 7: and maybe Bill would have left the path, it would
- 35:14Speaker 7: I think that the pat still would have been a
- 35:16Speaker 7: functional team that maybe wouldn't have won another Super Bowl
- 35:20Speaker 7: like he did with Tampa. But I still think we
- 35:22Speaker 7: would have saw we would have never saw any dysfunction
- 35:26Speaker 7: as Pats fans. And that's what I always think back
- 35:29Speaker 7: to when we talk about this Brady and Build thing.
- 35:31Speaker 7: I'm glad that we haven't both by the way, I
- 35:33Speaker 7: wouldn't change anything about it. But that's one thing that
- 35:35Speaker 7: I never hear people talk about. That is always all
- 35:38Speaker 7: was a Brady was a Bill?
- 35:39Speaker 3: Was it?
- 35:40Speaker 7: And to me, that's always when I said, back, we've
- 35:42Speaker 7: never seen Brady kind of fail the life. I don't know, Paul,
- 35:45Speaker 7: if you.
- 35:45Speaker 4: Want to pick it uPAR part of you know, I wouldn't.
- 35:49Speaker 6: I wouldn't pick it apart.
- 35:50Speaker 4: I would say there was a lot of dysfunction with
- 35:52Speaker 4: Brady and Belichick at Danks LOREO. I mean, I think
- 35:54Speaker 4: if you didn't, this is another one you sort of
- 35:58Speaker 4: We talked about it at the time and people back
- 36:00Speaker 4: and then you get a documentary series that tells you, well, no, no, no,
- 36:03Speaker 4: there was plenty of dysfunction. You know. Devin mccordy and
- 36:05Speaker 4: Matthew Slater would explain to you just how icy it
- 36:08Speaker 4: was between Belichick, and it was on both ends, and
- 36:11Speaker 4: it was partly Brady's fault too, Like I'm always critical
- 36:14Speaker 4: of Belichick, but it was partly Brady's fault too, with
- 36:17Speaker 4: his insistence on on Alex Guerrero and all that stuff,
- 36:20Speaker 4: and him sort of funneling his receivers to his way
- 36:26Speaker 4: of thinking. I mean, that's that's divisive. So that's that's dysfunction,
- 36:30Speaker 4: and some of that was Brady's. I mean, I think
- 36:32Speaker 4: the Lions share was Belichick's fault, but some of it
- 36:34Speaker 4: was Brady's.
- 36:34Speaker 8: Two you can't have two head trainers for a team,
- 36:37Speaker 8: you know, giving opposing opinions and uh, you know, ways
- 36:43Speaker 8: to get better. You just can't have that. And even
- 36:45Speaker 8: at you know, you know, that season that they were
- 36:48Speaker 8: eight no, he was the most miserable eight no quarterback
- 36:52Speaker 8: because he saw what was going on and in his mind,
- 36:56Speaker 8: the only reason we're eight no is because I'm holding
- 36:58Speaker 8: this thing together and I'm tired of it, you know,
- 37:02Speaker 8: And he showed that, and of course they went five
- 37:05Speaker 8: hundred the rest of the season, right, So yeah, there
- 37:10Speaker 8: was dysfunction that way, but because he was so good
- 37:13Speaker 8: on the field, it masked it.
- 37:16Speaker 3: Like so much of what he did mask things over time.
- 37:19Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I mean I'm in spackle, Yeah, I mean,
- 37:22Speaker 6: I was thinking about on the field, and I just
- 37:24Speaker 6: I don't really remember even a game where he didn't
- 37:27Speaker 6: at least make a push, you know. There was just
- 37:30Speaker 6: off the field certainly, but on the field, I don't.
- 37:32Speaker 9: I think he had his.
- 37:33Speaker 8: Bad game, but there was always even moments in those
- 37:36Speaker 8: bad games where you never lost hope.
- 37:38Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, or you didn't lose hope because it was him, right.
- 37:41Speaker 4: It's just like a lot of people go into every
- 37:44Speaker 4: season when Belichick was here, like they got Belichick so
- 37:47Speaker 4: they can They're always a thread. I remember Sports Illustrated
- 37:49Speaker 4: picked him to finish first in the division the year
- 37:51Speaker 4: they went four and thirteen, and Bill's last year. It
- 37:54Speaker 4: was not it was a local Sports Illustrated guy. It's
- 37:57Speaker 4: like Connor or guy, not like Peter Kamer.
- 38:00Speaker 8: Someone anthony' said Seattle, what's up?
- 38:04Speaker 13: Anthony, Hey, Fred, Deuce, Paul, Hey.
- 38:07Speaker 4: You guys doing all right?
- 38:08Speaker 13: All right?
- 38:10Speaker 3: Hey?
- 38:10Speaker 13: Yeah, I'm off on Wednesdays, and so I usually I
- 38:12Speaker 13: go to the gym in the morning.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Star.
- 38:13Speaker 13: I was just listening up finishing up yesterday's uh episode
- 38:18Speaker 13: listening to you guys, and so I hadn't heard the
- 38:20Speaker 13: announcement that you guys would be on the air, so
- 38:22Speaker 13: kind of right around the same time Fred said it
- 38:25Speaker 13: in my headphones and then my phone shined to tell
- 38:27Speaker 13: me you guys are on the air. I'm like, oh,
- 38:28Speaker 13: nice little surprise.
- 38:29Speaker 3: So nice.
- 38:30Speaker 13: Yeah, I just wanted to call in connect with you guys.
- 38:34Speaker 13: I'm calling it and I got a lot, but I'm
- 38:36Speaker 13: calling in today humbly, pat in hand requesting if I
- 38:39Speaker 13: can love to get a hold of one of those
- 38:41Speaker 13: those Patriots on unfiltered T shirts. I feel like I
- 38:44Speaker 13: spent a good a good amount of time listening to
- 38:46Speaker 13: you guys while working out. Usually got on a Patriot's
- 38:49Speaker 13: shirt and I'm listening to the PEU with my headphones,
- 38:51Speaker 13: and I got this image of me just having the
- 38:53Speaker 13: PU T shirt, you know, sweat, going the pump and
- 38:56Speaker 13: all that good stuff.
- 38:57Speaker 8: So we can arrange that if you stay on the line,
- 39:01Speaker 8: maybe and uh just might take taken over for Matt
- 39:04Speaker 8: the booth.
- 39:04Speaker 3: He can get your info and Alex.
- 39:08Speaker 8: Alexa you guys, okay.
- 39:13Speaker 6: Yeah, send us an email at podcasts at Patriots dot
- 39:16Speaker 6: com with your address and your size, and that I'll
- 39:18Speaker 6: get it out to you the next few months.
- 39:19Speaker 14: Okay, how did I know?
- 39:21Speaker 3: Thanks Anthony? All Right, Anthony's he's a good call.
- 39:25Speaker 6: I was going to ask him if he's going to
- 39:26Speaker 6: the to the opener, Uh, you know, and shoot, I
- 39:29Speaker 6: don't know how many days it is now, but it
- 39:31Speaker 6: feels like it's coming up quick. I was one thing
- 39:32Speaker 6: I thought watching that game the other night in Seattle,
- 39:34Speaker 6: was I mean, obviously the American fans were going crazy,
- 39:37Speaker 6: but the Seattle fans are going to be going crazy
- 39:39Speaker 6: at that game too.
- 39:40Speaker 9: It's going to be That's gonna be a cool game.
- 39:41Speaker 8: How weird do you think it'll be playing on a Wednesday?
- 39:44Speaker 8: How screwed up is that going to be?
- 39:46Speaker 9: Because it's the first game.
- 39:47Speaker 6: I don't know if it'll I mean, I think it'll
- 39:48Speaker 6: feel weirder, weirder the week after, you know, like whos
- 39:51Speaker 6: we have like because it'll be cool, we get to
- 39:52Speaker 6: what we get to watch the opening games on Sunday,
- 39:54Speaker 6: you know, and that that. But then I think I'll
- 39:56Speaker 6: be I'm already looking.
- 39:57Speaker 4: Forward to it. They better get me in my red
- 39:59Speaker 4: zone back by the NFL Network.
- 40:01Speaker 3: In terms of your mental clock, do you think it'll.
- 40:03Speaker 6: Well, I don't think it's I mean, I usually in
- 40:05Speaker 6: the season, I feel like when you're on rhythm you
- 40:07Speaker 6: get thrown off, but where we're not really and then
- 40:09Speaker 6: it's like the pseason ends and you got a couple
- 40:11Speaker 6: of weeks and then I mean, it's gonna be a
- 40:12Speaker 6: weird Labor Day if you're a big Labor Day fan.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know, an V.
- 40:15Speaker 4: I don't really. I think Mike's right because it's at
- 40:18Speaker 4: the beginning of the season. You haven't really started anything yet,
- 40:21Speaker 4: so yeah, your clock, it's just like, oh, well, well
- 40:23Speaker 4: that's for all you know, it's Sunday and just yeah,
- 40:26Speaker 4: just started, you know.
- 40:27Speaker 6: Speaking of the schedule, I don't know if you guys saw,
- 40:28Speaker 6: but the NFL changed their schedule a little bit next
- 40:30Speaker 6: off season. They pushed the combine back to the first
- 40:33Speaker 6: week of March.
- 40:34Speaker 3: And hit interrupt.
- 40:35Speaker 15: But uh, audio just cut out on all the feeds,
- 40:39Speaker 15: So give us one second. All right, we're going to
- 40:41Speaker 15: slate right now, so you know, you guys don't know
- 40:43Speaker 15: how mics We're back.
- 40:45Speaker 3: Good.
- 40:45Speaker 10: Everything we said before is actually right.
- 40:48Speaker 8: At what point did we lose audio so that we
- 40:50Speaker 8: can right after the call? I know, you giving me
- 40:53Speaker 8: a thumbs up, But at what point did we lose audio?
- 40:55Speaker 1: Do you know?
- 40:56Speaker 3: Like what were we talking about?
- 40:57Speaker 6: No need to repeat. The combine has been pushed a week,
- 41:02Speaker 6: but it's also the tampering periods now going to so
- 41:04Speaker 6: there's not like going to be the two weeks in between.
- 41:07Speaker 3: So when is the combine.
- 41:08Speaker 6: The combine is going to start Monday, March first, which
- 41:12Speaker 6: is about a week later than it usually is.
- 41:15Speaker 9: And then it'll wrap up.
- 41:16Speaker 10: That is a little bit or just because of the
- 41:19Speaker 10: when it's schedule.
- 41:20Speaker 6: The calendar, but then the tampering period is going to
- 41:22Speaker 6: start whatever mark's eighth, you know, so it's there's not
- 41:25Speaker 6: going to be that March months. Last year, well, usually
- 41:28Speaker 6: there was two weeks in between, so you'd have the
- 41:30Speaker 6: combine would end on a Sunday, then you'd have like
- 41:33Speaker 6: two full weeks, then you'd have the tampering period start
- 41:35Speaker 6: and free agency would.
- 41:36Speaker 9: Officially new new league year would.
- 41:39Speaker 6: Open on Wednesday.
- 41:39Speaker 9: So it's just a little more condensed.
- 41:42Speaker 6: But as uh, you know just that that so much
- 41:44Speaker 6: conversation goes on at the combine that's going to feed
- 41:48Speaker 6: directly into the start of tampering and free agency.
- 41:50Speaker 9: So I think.
- 41:51Speaker 6: It's probably going to make the combine a little bit
- 41:53Speaker 6: more hectic for the executives trying to you know, position everything,
- 41:57Speaker 6: get all their ducks in a row. I wonder if
- 41:59Speaker 6: there might be teams to pull back on the combine
- 42:01Speaker 6: part of it because they don't need to be there.
- 42:03Speaker 6: They're more focused on free agency the start of the
- 42:06Speaker 6: new year, and they'll get caught up on the draft.
- 42:08Speaker 6: So just a slight tweak from the NFL keeping us
- 42:10Speaker 6: on our toast.
- 42:11Speaker 8: It's interesting, Anthony writes in about the dysfunction. You guys
- 42:16Speaker 8: brought up a good point to the divisiveness of the
- 42:18Speaker 8: team during the end of the dynasty. I'm sure there
- 42:21Speaker 8: is more to it, But do you guys think the
- 42:23Speaker 8: Alex Guerrero situation is the driving factor to Brady and
- 42:27Speaker 8: Bill's rocky relationship. I don't know if it's the driving factor,
- 42:31Speaker 8: but it was a big factor.
- 42:33Speaker 4: I agree, Yeah.
- 42:34Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I think it speaks to a bigger
- 42:36Speaker 6: kind of control. And you know, as Tom grew into himself,
- 42:39Speaker 6: I mean, you've heard him talk so many times about
- 42:42Speaker 6: Alex Guerrero now of I mean talking, I mean I
- 42:44Speaker 6: saw it again where I forget what year was maybe
- 42:46Speaker 6: two thousand and five, where like they doctors wanted to
- 42:49Speaker 6: go in into surgery and cut through the ten in
- 42:51Speaker 6: his legs, and he said, Guerrero will have like, you know,
- 42:53Speaker 6: an hour or two with him, and he never felt
- 42:55Speaker 6: that pain again. So I understand why he would be
- 42:58Speaker 6: a true believer you know, in this I and and
- 43:00Speaker 6: want to you know, incorporate that into the team.
- 43:02Speaker 9: But I do think that was you know, major point.
- 43:05Speaker 6: But I think it's a bigger thing about power and
- 43:07Speaker 6: influence within within the organization, you know, yeah, trying to
- 43:11Speaker 6: make sure. I'm sure Tom developed a point of view
- 43:13Speaker 6: that he wanted to have fulfilled and Bill had his own.
- 43:16Speaker 8: Now here's a little bit of trivia. Do you know
- 43:19Speaker 8: who introduced Alex Guerrera to Tom Brady?
- 43:22Speaker 6: Oh yeah, yeah, Willie McGinn.
- 43:25Speaker 3: You know, people forget that fal did. No, it's uh.
- 43:32Speaker 8: But also then I think Giselle was a driving factor
- 43:36Speaker 8: to the division.
- 43:36Speaker 9: That's why I'm not worried about Josh Allen as much anymore.
- 43:39Speaker 6: I think, you know, and it's and justin Herbert to
- 43:41Speaker 6: like if you're you know, dating actress musician, I think
- 43:43Speaker 6: it's uh, you know, I think that there's there's gonna
- 43:45Speaker 6: be a lot going on for those guys.
- 43:46Speaker 9: I think I'll be distracted this year.
- 43:49Speaker 6: The whole crew in there.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Now, let's see Jack and and Abba.
- 43:56Speaker 8: Jack about the developmental systems for use sports, he says
- 44:01Speaker 8: an effective model for the development of youth sports teams
- 44:04Speaker 8: in the US is the USA Hockey National Team Development Program.
- 44:08Speaker 8: The NTDP is thriving, and it consistently produces players who
- 44:13Speaker 8: graduate to major college hockey and the NHL. Other sports
- 44:17Speaker 8: should use the NTDP as.
- 44:21Speaker 4: A model soccer did in the early nineties had the
- 44:23Speaker 4: same thing didn't work.
- 44:26Speaker 6: They're I mean they're expanding that too. Now they're expanding
- 44:29Speaker 6: to like a whole like league of teams that.
- 44:31Speaker 10: You know how you get in that?
- 44:33Speaker 6: Yeah, money, You.
- 44:34Speaker 10: Pay a lot of money.
- 44:36Speaker 4: To play in these travel programs, in these junior leagues.
- 44:42Speaker 4: I actually have a family member whose nephew is actually
- 44:45Speaker 4: in it right now.
- 44:49Speaker 10: Yeah, It's it's not easy. It's not easy now.
- 44:52Speaker 6: I mean a lot of good players, I mean Matthew Bowleie,
- 44:55Speaker 6: the Hughes brothers, I mean they certainly.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Well, the huge family has been mental in the program itself. Yeah, Jack,
- 45:02Speaker 4: Jack Hughes's father Jack and Quinn's father, I think Jack
- 45:06Speaker 4: and that the father's name is Jack.
- 45:08Speaker 6: I mean, I kind of would like to cross this
- 45:10Speaker 6: over Fred to your thing about Jim flag football, you know,
- 45:13Speaker 6: because you're talking flag football is and you know, and
- 45:16Speaker 6: we never really nobody says like we need a football
- 45:19Speaker 6: development system. I think everybody kind of feels like it's
- 45:21Speaker 6: working okay, right, Like does that you know, we have
- 45:24Speaker 6: all this like we have to develop, like football doesn't
- 45:26Speaker 6: really seem to have that problem.
- 45:27Speaker 4: I think the difference that soccer needs it. And Alex
- 45:31Speaker 4: makes this point, she made it yesterday in the show,
- 45:32Speaker 4: and we were talking about it a little bit earlier,
- 45:34Speaker 4: and I think this is where the development people have
- 45:38Speaker 4: it right. And I'm a little bit simplistic, but they
- 45:44Speaker 4: don't have the built in head start with soccer that
- 45:47Speaker 4: they do, Like we're ahead of everybody else, and maybe
- 45:50Speaker 4: everybody else is catching up because they develop better than
- 45:53Speaker 4: we do. And look at you know, the look at
- 45:57Speaker 4: all the catch up that basketball has done internationally because
- 46:00Speaker 4: they're doing it the same way they do soccer, and
- 46:02Speaker 4: you know, and they have the same I would say
- 46:06Speaker 4: that probably the same restraints with them with basketball in
- 46:12Speaker 4: the European because soccer is number one, so they're getting
- 46:14Speaker 4: the second. So that's to me, that's a point in
- 46:17Speaker 4: the developmental column. You can do it if you develop properly.
- 46:22Speaker 4: We just don't have the passion in the sort of
- 46:25Speaker 4: the institutional history with the sport to overcome a bad
- 46:31Speaker 4: developmental model, which I again fully admit is bad, and
- 46:35Speaker 4: it's bad in all sports. The US national development team
- 46:38Speaker 4: and hockey is fine, that's great. That's not why we're
- 46:41Speaker 4: good in hockey. It's not like, that's not why they
- 46:45Speaker 4: won the gold medal. Like, I just feel like people
- 46:50Speaker 4: miss that we pay those kids pay a lot of
- 46:52Speaker 4: money to play in those programs, and that's wrong. Like
- 46:55Speaker 4: there's got to be a better way to do it.
- 46:56Speaker 6: Yeah, that's I guess. My only hope is that, especially
- 46:59Speaker 6: in the in America, is that the talented kid, the
- 47:03Speaker 6: special kid who doesn't come from the.
- 47:06Speaker 10: Resources, he gets a scholars does he?
- 47:08Speaker 6: Yeah, Like, as long as those kids can still find
- 47:11Speaker 6: their way into the professional leagues and they're not being
- 47:14Speaker 6: held back just because they can't write the check to
- 47:16Speaker 6: play on the team that they need to, you know,
- 47:18Speaker 6: I think ultimately you'll be okay.
- 47:20Speaker 8: But it's fine for those kids, and you know, getting
- 47:23Speaker 8: the exposure for them.
- 47:24Speaker 4: And how many kids fall in the middle, right, you know,
- 47:27Speaker 4: how many kids might have the talent but not the money,
- 47:30Speaker 4: but has enough money that he ain't getting.
- 47:32Speaker 9: It paid for, you know, right, right? And which is,
- 47:35Speaker 9: let's face it, the majority of.
- 47:36Speaker 6: People, right, And that those kids can if they were
- 47:39Speaker 6: able to play in the better leagues surrounded by the
- 47:41Speaker 6: better players, then they improve even more dramatically.
- 47:45Speaker 3: You know, A quick game of who am I already?
- 47:50Speaker 4: I like games? Player one time of year for games.
- 47:53Speaker 8: I played for the Patriots from twenty ten to twenty twelve.
- 47:57Speaker 4: Mike, this is you.
- 47:58Speaker 8: In my last season with the team, I had seven
- 48:01Speaker 8: hundred and forty seven all purpose yards for the team. Okay,
- 48:07Speaker 8: and I played running back and scored the first touchdown
- 48:10Speaker 8: in Super Bowl. It is that fifty forty five, forty six,
- 48:16Speaker 8: forty six, Danny.
- 48:17Speaker 6: Would Dan, that's a fun story.
- 48:20Speaker 10: I wouldn't have gotten it until the Super Bowl touchdown.
- 48:23Speaker 3: Player two.
- 48:23Speaker 8: I was drafted by the Patriots out of North Carolina State.
- 48:28Speaker 8: I played for New England from nineteen ninety to nineteen
- 48:31Speaker 8: ninety four and retired in two thousand.
- 48:35Speaker 4: Ray Agnew Ray Agnew was correct.
- 48:37Speaker 6: I wouldn't have gotten that one.
- 48:40Speaker 4: I'm a little proud of myself for that one final one.
- 48:42Speaker 9: I think I had his football card though, I remember.
- 48:44Speaker 8: That final one. I won one super Bowl with the
- 48:48Speaker 8: Patriots as a cornerback. I went undrafted in two thousand
- 48:53Speaker 8: coming out of Georgia Southern think elements when it.
- 48:59Speaker 4: Comes to my earthwind Moreland.
- 49:01Speaker 6: That's correct, that's funny.
- 49:04Speaker 9: What did you guys think of Danny Woodhead?
- 49:06Speaker 6: I always thought that was like, you know, he was
- 49:08Speaker 6: actually pretty good, but he's so try hard.
- 49:10Speaker 10: No, I did not hate him.
- 49:12Speaker 3: You didn't like that?
- 49:13Speaker 4: I mean, no, he was I would say, Okay, so
- 49:21Speaker 4: he filled a role, very specific role.
- 49:24Speaker 6: Since somebody get hurt. Kim fuck right, Kevin funk I hurt?
- 49:27Speaker 6: They were out of guys.
- 49:28Speaker 3: I feel like I.
- 49:29Speaker 4: Think was gone by then. But if he wasn't, he
- 49:33Speaker 4: was close. But that was a role that they had
- 49:38Speaker 4: that that someone al was filled. In my view, he
- 49:41Speaker 4: was the least effective in that role. Like Kevin Falk,
- 49:44Speaker 4: Shane Vereen, James White, all those guys were better than
- 49:48Speaker 4: don't you think, better than what had filled for a
- 49:51Speaker 4: guy that grabbed off the Jets practice Like Deon Lewis.
- 49:56Speaker 4: I think for a short period of time was better
- 49:58Speaker 4: than him. Now maybe would have did it a little longer.
- 50:01Speaker 6: Yeah, so Kevin Fogg, Yeah, you had two games, two starts.
- 50:04Speaker 6: I think that was it then for him, and they
- 50:06Speaker 6: just had Ben Jarvis green Ellis. Fred Taylor only lasted seven.
- 50:09Speaker 4: Fred Taylor was a disaster.
- 50:11Speaker 6: Sammy Morris was around, so he's kind of more. This
- 50:14Speaker 6: is twenty ten, still have Ben Jarvis green Ellis, who
- 50:18Speaker 6: rushed for one thousand and eight yards with thirteen touchdowns.
- 50:20Speaker 6: Not a bad year. Wood had had ninety seven attemts
- 50:24Speaker 6: five hundred and forty seven yards, five touchdowns, thirty four
- 50:27Speaker 6: receptions three hundred seventy nine yards.
- 50:29Speaker 4: I mean Wood had filled a you know, he filled
- 50:31Speaker 4: a role.
- 50:31Speaker 6: That's what I liked. I mean, it wasn't so much
- 50:32Speaker 6: the player. It was just more one of those situations
- 50:35Speaker 6: I don't feel like you see very often where you're
- 50:37Speaker 6: kind of in a bind. You sign a guy off
- 50:39Speaker 6: the practice squad and he comes in and he you know,
- 50:41Speaker 6: he was he was productive, He did fine. You know,
- 50:42Speaker 6: it wasn't the disaster that it often would be if
- 50:45Speaker 6: you had to grab somebody off another team's practice squad.
- 50:48Speaker 8: Uh, back to the phones eight five five, Pats five hundred.
- 50:52Speaker 8: Let's go to Florida. Brian, what's up? Brian and Florida.
- 51:01Speaker 4: No, I don't.
- 51:02Speaker 3: He's going once twice.
- 51:04Speaker 6: Brian floes all right?
- 51:05Speaker 4: I like the games.
- 51:07Speaker 3: No, Brian in Florida.
- 51:08Speaker 10: Rey agnew it was a good one.
- 51:11Speaker 8: That's another topic we've been talking about in the past,
- 51:13Speaker 8: and we talked about yesterday with jerseys. Barton Poland questioned,
- 51:18Speaker 8: especially for Paul, is it that wearing jerseys as a
- 51:21Speaker 8: whole isn't for you? Or is it the fact that
- 51:23Speaker 8: you wear a jersey with another man's name on it.
- 51:26Speaker 4: No, the other man's name doesn't really, Yeah, that doesn't.
- 51:28Speaker 9: That doesn't bother.
- 51:29Speaker 6: That's having your own name on it is a little
- 51:31Speaker 6: bit weird.
- 51:32Speaker 4: I of agree, like that's not That's not a big
- 51:34Speaker 4: part of it for me. I just think it's weird.
- 51:36Speaker 4: Wearing uniform I have no problem now if you wear
- 51:39Speaker 4: it to a game, and again basketball excluded. I don't
- 51:44Speaker 4: think you should wear a uniform to a basketball game.
- 51:46Speaker 4: I tank the tank tops. That looks silly to me.
- 51:49Speaker 4: But if you wear like a a Drake May shirt
- 51:52Speaker 4: to a Patriots game, I don't have any I don't
- 51:54Speaker 4: I don't have any issue.
- 51:55Speaker 8: I think one of the coolest things to wear is
- 51:57Speaker 8: a nice baseball shirt, nice button baseball shirt. Yeah, I
- 52:00Speaker 8: just won't have it with somebody's name on it.
- 52:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 52:03Speaker 3: No, I think those are cool shirts to just wear around.
- 52:06Speaker 9: I have a really cool one. It was one of
- 52:07Speaker 9: the few times I've won something in an auction.
- 52:09Speaker 6: It was like end of holy Cross and they had
- 52:11Speaker 6: like a vintage holy Cross baseball jersey, you know, and
- 52:15Speaker 6: I won the raffle Be baseball Well, that's the really one.
- 52:20Speaker 6: I'd like to see it though, I would like to
- 52:22Speaker 6: see you in it. I got some compliments on that,
- 52:24Speaker 6: like it's, you know, the old school kind of baseball shirts.
- 52:27Speaker 3: I like that.
- 52:28Speaker 6: I had no problem in a game like out and
- 52:30Speaker 6: about and it's like you're every day I got to
- 52:32Speaker 6: wear a jersey.
- 52:33Speaker 4: That might be a little too much, but I mean
- 52:35Speaker 4: that's that's I guess my pushback is like people that
- 52:39Speaker 4: wear them like all the time.
- 52:41Speaker 8: So when it came to clothes, including uniforms, were the
- 52:45Speaker 8: seventies the worst decade ever?
- 52:48Speaker 10: By worst? Do you mean the best? No, I mean
- 52:50Speaker 10: the worst?
- 52:51Speaker 4: I think they were awesome especially in football and baseball. Yeah,
- 52:55Speaker 4: I mean there was some misses, like the San Diego Padres.
- 52:58Speaker 3: I mean those were Pittsburgh Pirates. Awesome, yeah, awesome.
- 53:01Speaker 10: In all the different combinations.
- 53:04Speaker 8: And they were wearing pullover shirts like they weren't even terrible.
- 53:07Speaker 3: Yeah, terrible.
- 53:08Speaker 6: Well, it's hard to know now because now bad is awesome,
- 53:11Speaker 6: you know, like the bad stuff that was so terrible,
- 53:14Speaker 6: that's awesome. That's how I kind of feel about that
- 53:16Speaker 6: stuff now.
- 53:16Speaker 4: But Fred and I have always been on opposite ends
- 53:19Speaker 4: of the spectrum on that one.
- 53:20Speaker 6: Well, I think like a lot of people like the
- 53:22Speaker 6: Titans too, and they feel like those are kind of
- 53:24Speaker 6: back to the simplicity design there is, you know, the
- 53:28Speaker 6: Titans new uniforms, they've kind of gone back to those
- 53:31Speaker 6: Houston red and light blue kind of color scheme a
- 53:33Speaker 6: little bit. I know there's a lot of a lot
- 53:35Speaker 6: of big fans of those, but going back to more
- 53:38Speaker 6: of the simplicity, not like the dramatic weird.
- 53:40Speaker 9: Lines and cut of the jerseys and stuff.
- 53:44Speaker 8: All right, let's let's take a break, see if there's
- 53:50Speaker 8: any you know, we got to get these people to

- 56:53Speaker 1: Thank you so much for joining us. Really appreciate it, Matt.
- 56:56Speaker 1: It's it's my pleasure.
- 56:57Speaker 18: I don't get a chance to come back this way
- 57:00Speaker 18: too often. But I'm here to watch the game today.
- 57:03Speaker 18: I'm here to cheer the Patriots on. I'm also get
- 57:06Speaker 18: a chance to see my son and my grandchildren because
- 57:08Speaker 18: they're up here in Boston.
- 57:09Speaker 1: That's great. Is that the impetus for coming back here?
- 57:12Speaker 1: Because you're I mean, I just came back. Just to
- 57:14Speaker 1: be honest, you no, right, right, I mean, it's like,
- 57:16Speaker 1: what was your impetus?
- 57:17Speaker 17: Because it's great when some of the people like, there's
- 57:20Speaker 17: a lot of people aving in this area, and understandably so,
- 57:22Speaker 17: think the franchise started in two thousand and one, and
- 57:25Speaker 17: that's not the case, you know, so when somebody like
- 57:28Speaker 17: you comes back here, you're literally franchise royalty.
- 57:31Speaker 1: What was the impetus to come back here?
- 57:32Speaker 18: Well, the impetus to come back was an email that
- 57:34Speaker 18: I received from the Patriots organization inviting some of the alumni.
- 57:39Speaker 18: Boss they put together an opportunity of program or an event.
- 57:43Speaker 18: I guess you could call either one of those for
- 57:45Speaker 18: us to come back and have a space for us
- 57:47Speaker 18: where we can bring a couple of guests. And I'm
- 57:50Speaker 18: real still good friends with Tony Collins. We stay in
- 57:53Speaker 18: contact with one another, and he came several weeks ago,
- 57:55Speaker 18: and I think he brought like nineteen cats with him
- 57:58Speaker 18: and they all had Tony Collins jerseys on and I
- 58:00Speaker 18: saw that he posted it.
- 58:01Speaker 1: I saw it. I called him and he told me
- 58:03Speaker 1: about it.
- 58:03Speaker 18: So I responded to the email, got in touch with Jeff,
- 58:08Speaker 18: talked with Kate, and here I am.
- 58:09Speaker 1: That's great, that's great.
- 58:11Speaker 4: Yeah, So first of all, what are you up to now?
- 58:15Speaker 4: Before we get into memory lane? You know, what what
- 58:17Speaker 4: have you been? I mean, you look like you could
- 58:19Speaker 4: still play. Matt and I were joking with you ten.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Start for sure.
- 58:22Speaker 4: It looked like you could get out and jump in
- 58:24Speaker 4: the X spot right now and run ten go routes.
- 58:27Speaker 1: No problem.
- 58:28Speaker 3: What are up to?
- 58:29Speaker 18: I still do workout, and I work hard. So I'm
- 58:33Speaker 18: working hard.
- 58:33Speaker 1: I listen. I had some surgery a little while ago.
- 58:36Speaker 18: I had a stone in my bladder, and yeah, that
- 58:41Speaker 18: was a bad experience. So I'm doing the best that
- 58:44Speaker 18: I can to stay as healthy as I can, and
- 58:46Speaker 18: part of that is working out. But what I'm doing now,
- 58:50Speaker 18: I've been doing the past what twenty five years now, almost,
- 58:53Speaker 18: and that's I'm still pastoring.
- 58:54Speaker 1: That's great.
- 58:55Speaker 18: I'm actually pastoring at two different churches now, but I'm
- 58:58Speaker 18: still doing that. You can't. I can't get away from it.
- 59:01Speaker 18: I can't run from it. I tried several times, trust me,
- 59:04Speaker 18: and it is what it is. It's a calling that
- 59:07Speaker 18: you become a prisoner too, as the Apostle Paul says
- 59:10Speaker 18: in scripture, and you can't get away from it.
- 59:12Speaker 1: So I'm enjoying it.
- 59:14Speaker 18: I love loving people, and we need love more than
- 59:19Speaker 18: anything in today's world.
- 59:21Speaker 1: Yep, you know it better than I do.
- 59:23Speaker 18: So I do podcasts, I do some analysis with the
- 59:28Speaker 18: Eagles down in Philadelphia, but most of my work, most
- 59:32Speaker 18: of my attention, most of my focus is with the church.
- 59:34Speaker 1: And when he sold, that's great.
- 59:37Speaker 17: So let's go down memory lane, Irving, and I don't
- 59:39Speaker 17: think a lot of younger people would remember. And you're
- 59:42Speaker 17: in a fraternity or that's pretty select. There aren't many
- 59:47Speaker 17: wide receivers that were selected number one overall in the draft.
- 59:51Speaker 17: I know Kishan's one of them because I can remember
- 59:53Speaker 17: that that was after me, right, And there's another gentleman
- 59:56Speaker 17: whose name I can't remember a thing from the sixties. Yeah,
- 59:58Speaker 17: you're the number one pick in the end NFL. What
- 1:00:01Speaker 17: was that like for a kid coming out of Nebraska
- 1:00:04Speaker 17: from South Jersey.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: What was that like at the time to be the
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: number one pick.
- 1:00:07Speaker 18: Overall, Well, it wasn't the pomping circumstance that you have
- 1:00:10Speaker 18: now with all of the celebration and you know the
- 1:00:14Speaker 18: you know, they they sell tickets to the draft now
- 1:00:17Speaker 18: and there's thousands of people that show up in whatever
- 1:00:19Speaker 18: city they're having the draft.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: It wasn't like that when I was drafted.
- 1:00:22Speaker 18: I actually signed my contract before the draft, and probably
- 1:00:26Speaker 18: by the time the draft came, I had spent like
- 1:00:27Speaker 18: twenty five grand. But the day of the draft, they
- 1:00:31Speaker 18: sent a car down to New Jersey, picked myself and
- 1:00:33Speaker 18: my mother up. We went to the draft, they announced it,
- 1:00:38Speaker 18: we did an interview, we got back in the car
- 1:00:39Speaker 18: and went back home.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: That was as exciting as it was, I'm believing.
- 1:00:44Speaker 18: But there's something interesting that I kind of just realized
- 1:00:47Speaker 18: maybe several months ago I was doing an interview and
- 1:00:49Speaker 18: began to talk about it and thinking about being drafted
- 1:00:53Speaker 18: as the number one pick.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: But I was drafted as a wide receiver.
- 1:00:57Speaker 18: I was a wingback in college, right, So as a
- 1:01:01Speaker 18: wing back in college, my one on ones in practice
- 1:01:04Speaker 18: were in a three point stance, blocking down on defensive
- 1:01:08Speaker 18: ends or blocking linebackers.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: My one on ones in practice.
- 1:01:11Speaker 18: Never at Nebraska were me standing up or even out
- 1:01:16Speaker 18: split out running routes against the defensive back. So the
- 1:01:19Speaker 18: first time I had ever run a route against the
- 1:01:22Speaker 18: defensive back standing up was my first day in training camp.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: I had never done that before, and man.
- 1:01:30Speaker 18: I got my behind with quite a few times because
- 1:01:32Speaker 18: Raymond Clayborne and Rinning l Pet those guys did not play.
- 1:01:36Speaker 18: They were great cornerbacks and I had to face them
- 1:01:40Speaker 18: every day. So it was a learning curve for me
- 1:01:42Speaker 18: that was pretty pretty long. It took me a minute
- 1:01:44Speaker 18: to get my feet up underneath me to learn how
- 1:01:47Speaker 18: to be a wide receiver, and we didn't throw the
- 1:01:48Speaker 18: ball that much, and I really didn't become, I feel,
- 1:01:53Speaker 18: a good receiver until I went to Miami where they
- 1:01:56Speaker 18: focused on through it.
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: So what was your experience, Like, you mentioned the guys
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: in the d defensive side, but you had a pretty
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: good wide receiver on the other side and Stanley in
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: the Morgan Yeah, So what was it like sort of
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: trying to pick his brain a little bit.
- 1:02:08Speaker 18: Well, here's the story behind Stanley. So yes, I come in.
- 1:02:12Speaker 18: I'm a wing back. I don't have a clue as
- 1:02:15Speaker 18: to what I'm doing at the wide receiver position, so
- 1:02:17Speaker 18: I know Stanley's here.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: I've heard of Stanley.
- 1:02:20Speaker 18: I've actually watched him several times in games, and so
- 1:02:23Speaker 18: I'm figuring I'm going to get some tootelitch from him
- 1:02:26Speaker 18: and he's going to help me out.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Well.
- 1:02:28Speaker 18: When I got drafted, Ron Myers was the head coach YEP.
- 1:02:31Speaker 18: Ron Myers was falling out with Stanley Morgan. They both
- 1:02:34Speaker 18: were having a falling out. I think Ron was trying
- 1:02:36Speaker 18: to get rid of Stanley. So when I came in,
- 1:02:38Speaker 18: Ron put me at the same position as Stanley, so
- 1:02:41Speaker 18: I was a threat to Stanley.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: He and Ron were going at it.
- 1:02:46Speaker 18: I'm on the same side, so Stanley didn't talk to me.
- 1:02:48Speaker 18: He didn't say a word to me. Halfway through my
- 1:02:51Speaker 18: rookie year, Ron Myers gets fired, Raymond Barry comes in.
- 1:02:55Speaker 18: Raymond Barry takes me and he puts me on the
- 1:02:57Speaker 18: other side of Stanley. So now Stanley and I are
- 1:02:59Speaker 18: playing at the same time, rather than me playing and
- 1:03:02Speaker 18: Stanley on the side, or Stanley playing then me on
- 1:03:04Speaker 18: the sideline. But Stanley the damage had already been done,
- 1:03:07Speaker 18: so Stanley.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: Still wasn't talking to me.
- 1:03:09Speaker 18: So my whole rookie year, and I don't blame him,
- 1:03:11Speaker 18: but my whole rookie year, Stanley didn't say a word
- 1:03:14Speaker 18: to me, not one single word, because I was a
- 1:03:17Speaker 18: threat to him.
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: Matt, We're not even ten minutes in and you're you're
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: sort of finding out why the Patriots struggled so much.
- 1:03:25Speaker 18: So one chapter, yeah, from Raymond, from from uh Rod
- 1:03:28Speaker 18: Mars to Raymond.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Barry to Rod Russ to Dick McPherson was one right
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: after the ar So how did that ice? Did that
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: ice ever get broken?
- 1:03:36Speaker 18: It did get broken, probably more so the latter part
- 1:03:40Speaker 18: of my second season. You know, we had that big
- 1:03:43Speaker 18: run and we went to the super Bowl and lost
- 1:03:44Speaker 18: the super Bowl. So that year, yeah, things kind of
- 1:03:47Speaker 18: came together for us, but it was again, most of
- 1:03:49Speaker 18: the damage that I was doing was on special team.
- 1:03:52Speaker 18: Sure pump returner, sure catch if you passed it, but
- 1:03:54Speaker 18: Stanley was was the go to guy. So most of
- 1:03:57Speaker 18: my learning came from just watching. We really never did
- 1:04:01Speaker 18: sit down and him instruct me or teach me or
- 1:04:05Speaker 18: help me in that manner. Most of it came for
- 1:04:07Speaker 18: me just watching him and learning that way. Going out
- 1:04:10Speaker 18: and trying to do it myself.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: And now great moments in history.
- 1:04:19Speaker 8: After slogging my way through the Major League Baseball Challenge
- 1:04:22Speaker 8: discussion without jumping in front of busy traffic, I'm sorry.
- 1:04:26Speaker 8: Paul mentioned something that made me think, what is everyone's
- 1:04:29Speaker 8: favorite sports arguments to have? I'm friends with a few lawyers,
- 1:04:32Speaker 8: so arguing is always what we're doing.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: But some of our.
- 1:04:35Speaker 8: Best always revolved around whether Brady was a system quarterback
- 1:04:39Speaker 8: or not. What are everyone's favorite or most enjoyable sports
- 1:04:43Speaker 8: arguments to partake it?
- 1:04:44Speaker 19: I mean, that's a dumb argument, like how many systems
- 1:04:46Speaker 19: did you play?
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: It?
- 1:04:47Speaker 8: You have dumb friends, yeah, like dumb lawyer friends. I'm
- 1:04:50Speaker 8: glad if I ever need a lawyer. I'm not calling
- 1:04:52Speaker 8: your friends anyways.
- 1:04:53Speaker 19: The one that I love the most is like the
- 1:04:56Speaker 19: eras of athletes, Like if you were to put like
- 1:04:59Speaker 19: Bill Russell and Bob Kouzi in the NBA today, like
- 1:05:03Speaker 19: would they hold up?
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: Would they be good?
- 1:05:05Speaker 8: You know?
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: Or would they be like.
- 1:05:07Speaker 19: Out of the league, you know, not even competitive?
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: And I think I love that argument too.
- 1:05:11Speaker 8: But the thing that sometimes gets lost in that you
- 1:05:14Speaker 8: have to be fair and say Bill Russell born today
- 1:05:17Speaker 8: gets the same nutrition, the same training, the same everything,
- 1:05:21Speaker 8: and then I just good, I just drop him in.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: No.
- 1:05:25Speaker 6: I think Bill Russell would still be good no matter what.
- 1:05:27Speaker 19: Okay, because because especially the way the game is played now, like.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: Well he's old and he's dead. Well that's the older.
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: Is he dead?
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: That's another great moment.
- 1:05:40Speaker 8: Aaron Patriot's Unfiltered eighty five five Pats five hundred is
- 1:05:43Speaker 8: the hotline podcast at Patriots dot com. Is the email
- 1:05:46Speaker 8: address kind of an open forum today.
- 1:05:49Speaker 9: Popping off out there.
- 1:05:50Speaker 7: Fred.
- 1:05:50Speaker 6: They're getting ready for that World Cup game tomorrow. It's
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: just a slew of activity. It's very, very exciting, and
- 1:05:55Speaker 6: I was wondering one of the how quick you think
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: they get the grass out of there?
- 1:05:58Speaker 9: Like how quick they put that?
- 1:05:59Speaker 8: I think I think Friday they'll start taking It'll.
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: Be like after the Jets loss in two thousand and six.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: It's gonna be.
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: You talk about busy, there's gonna be a lot of
- 1:06:10Speaker 8: busy bees ripping things apart and putting things back together
- 1:06:13Speaker 8: starting on Friday.
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: I think we get our couches back on Friday.
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: We'll see. Yeah, the whole stadium's cold right now, I know.
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: I mean that I would take a t of coke.
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: I can't find one of those either. I'm sorry, I'm
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: sure he's ready.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: I'm sure.
- 1:06:30Speaker 8: All right, eight five five past five hundred. Let's get
- 1:06:33Speaker 8: back to the phones. We'll start Brian, and Florida is
- 1:06:36Speaker 8: going to give it another try. What's up, Brian? Brian, Oh,
- 1:06:41Speaker 8: we'll be two strikes and you're out.
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:06:45Speaker 10: Something tells me he's got us on mute.
- 1:06:47Speaker 8: Either that or he's at work and he can't his
- 1:06:50Speaker 8: boss just walk by, Uh, Sean's and Vancouver.
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: What's up, Sean?
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: There's another issue?
- 1:07:00Speaker 14: What more phone stuff?
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: Okay, all right.
- 1:07:06Speaker 14: So you were talking about the World Cup game yesterday
- 1:07:10Speaker 14: with Columbia Versus. Uh I can't remember, right, So, yeah,
- 1:07:16Speaker 14: So I was here in Vancouver and like throughout the
- 1:07:20Speaker 14: week there's like all these parades with with Colombian bands
- 1:07:24Speaker 14: just closing traffic and it was insane. Like I was
- 1:07:27Speaker 14: at a grocery store and the manager comes over says,
- 1:07:30Speaker 14: no more deliveries. There's no trucks can get anywhere with
- 1:07:33Speaker 14: the traffic. It was. It was insane. So I didn't
- 1:07:36Speaker 14: really watch it. I didn't care about that game. But
- 1:07:38Speaker 14: I'm I'm coming out into a hotel, and I can
- 1:07:42Speaker 14: see by all these Colombians just the reaction. There are
- 1:07:45Speaker 14: no others celebrating their just more somber. Oh, I guess
- 1:07:48Speaker 14: there was a big upset today, so I saw that
- 1:07:50Speaker 14: after the game. So that was that was kind of
- 1:07:53Speaker 14: a strange World Cup experience for me. But in terms
- 1:07:57Speaker 14: of the Patriots bar yesterday was or actually I heard
- 1:08:03Speaker 14: it this morning because it was on twenty two. He
- 1:08:07Speaker 14: was talking about bringing in the tight end where Brabel
- 1:08:10Speaker 14: said he's gonna bring in another tight end and he
- 1:08:14Speaker 14: was saying, well, I think you know, they'll probably wait
- 1:08:17Speaker 14: until the end of August and see what they have.
- 1:08:20Speaker 14: So but my question is more detailed. Are they going
- 1:08:22Speaker 14: to wait and see what they have in terms of
- 1:08:26Speaker 14: someone like Tannered if he can be a blocking tight end,
- 1:08:30Speaker 14: or are they going to like also maybe consider well
- 1:08:34Speaker 14: what's our roles where it does he look like he's
- 1:08:36Speaker 14: going to be okay as a second tight end or
- 1:08:38Speaker 14: we're just going to have a more kind of red
- 1:08:41Speaker 14: shirt and see what he's at before they decide to
- 1:08:44Speaker 14: bring in someone else. So I'll leave you with that.
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: Okay, Thanks Sean, thank you. So it's an interesting question.
- 1:08:50Speaker 6: I mean, I loved it when they had Julian Hill
- 1:08:53Speaker 6: because it just felt like they had all their bases covered.
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: You got reliable veteran Hunter Henry. It was great chemistry
- 1:08:58Speaker 6: with Drake may Hill, who not only is you know,
- 1:09:01Speaker 6: tough guy and can block and bring some attitude, but
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: I think he could also if Hunter Henry got hurt,
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: you could put Julian Hill in there and he could
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: give you some snaps and you know, it.
- 1:09:08Speaker 9: Wouldn't be too much of a drop off after that.
- 1:09:11Speaker 6: There's you know, really a void. And I mean, I'd
- 1:09:13Speaker 6: love to say that, oh, that's gonna force Raredan into
- 1:09:16Speaker 6: the into the mix, but I think you're a Hunter
- 1:09:19Speaker 6: Henry injury away from you can't do that to rered
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: them right out of the gate.
- 1:09:22Speaker 10: Like, So, I do you think they'll wait till the
- 1:09:25Speaker 10: end of camp.
- 1:09:25Speaker 6: I don't think they'll wait till the end.
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: I don't know, though.
- 1:09:27Speaker 6: I think they got to get somebody in there.
- 1:09:29Speaker 8: I guarantee, if I guarantee, but better chance than not
- 1:09:34Speaker 8: that somebody will become available who we haven't thought of
- 1:09:38Speaker 8: right now.
- 1:09:39Speaker 6: And that's and that's yeah, and that's I mean, and
- 1:09:40Speaker 6: and maybe maybe they signed somebody as a camp body,
- 1:09:43Speaker 6: and then someone shakes loose on cutdown day and and that,
- 1:09:47Speaker 6: you know, maybe fills the need a little better.
- 1:09:48Speaker 10: I don't think they'll wait that long.
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I think they'll get someone in here for camp,
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: or at least early in camp so he can actually
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: have a chance to assimilate. Y.
- 1:09:57Speaker 6: I mean, Farrell Brown, I don't know he's I mean,
- 1:09:59Speaker 6: he's what his he's thirty two.
- 1:10:01Speaker 10: Yeah, I don't know who. Yeah, I don't know who.
- 1:10:03Speaker 10: It's going to be, tough dude.
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: But I'm just saying, if you want a guy, if
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: you feel like you need somebody to be on the roster,
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: I don't think you want to wait till the end
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: of camp.
- 1:10:12Speaker 10: Yeah, I want to bring someone in so we can
- 1:10:13Speaker 10: learn the offense.
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:14Speaker 6: But I mean, you know, if it was a John
- 1:10:16Speaker 6: HU Smith or I mean, I'm blanking on what year
- 1:10:19Speaker 6: Farah Brown was here.
- 1:10:20Speaker 9: I don't think he crossed paths with Josh Mattanas.
- 1:10:22Speaker 6: I think he was like twenty two or twenty three
- 1:10:23Speaker 6: somewhere in there right after he left.
- 1:10:25Speaker 9: But you know, John U.
- 1:10:26Speaker 6: Smith had some experience, and I just think he's more
- 1:10:29Speaker 6: of you know, kind of like Hunter Henry. But I
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: don't know they brought both those guys in before and
- 1:10:33Speaker 6: they saw some kind of way they could work together.
- 1:10:35Speaker 9: I mean, it's not the craziest thing in the world.
- 1:10:38Speaker 8: Yesterday I was talking about how I admire the skin
- 1:10:41Speaker 8: of the Scandinavian people, and I included Finland in the
- 1:10:46Speaker 8: Netherlands and that, and I'm being corrected by Simon from Denmark.
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: I don't remember you saying everyone.
- 1:10:51Speaker 8: He says the Netherlands and therefore the Dutch. I might
- 1:10:53Speaker 8: have said the Dutch aren't part of Scandinavia. Neither is Finland,
- 1:10:57Speaker 8: but Denmark is. And as we didn't qualify for the
- 1:11:00Speaker 8: World Cup, I hope Norway wins it all. So I'm
- 1:11:03Speaker 8: just talking about that whole North Sea region. Yeah, sure,
- 1:11:06Speaker 8: you know, like they have good skin, it's pure. Yeah,
- 1:11:10Speaker 8: it's I don't mean the color. I mean the like
- 1:11:13Speaker 8: no acne.
- 1:11:13Speaker 9: Yeah, not a lot of sign I haven't ever seen
- 1:11:16Speaker 9: anyone with a post line.
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, so safe, no UV, that's it.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: You know, there's no sun that never comes out.
- 1:11:26Speaker 6: I saw a funny meme that was like a guy
- 1:11:28Speaker 6: on England and looked like the prototypical English player. I
- 1:11:31Speaker 6: don't know who, I forget what his name is. I'm
- 1:11:33Speaker 6: sure people know, but there was you know, it was
- 1:11:34Speaker 6: just the English guy and then Holland, who looks like
- 1:11:36Speaker 6: the prototypical Viking, and it just looked like if you
- 1:11:39Speaker 6: were gonna, you know, line up these two prototypes from
- 1:11:42Speaker 6: these two different places. These guys kind of embody it completely.
- 1:11:45Speaker 8: But do you know that Holland technically not technically I
- 1:11:49Speaker 8: mean he can play for England if he wanted.
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: No, really, Yeah, he was born.
- 1:11:52Speaker 8: In England and grew up in England to Norwegian parents.
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:11:59Speaker 6: Well, his dad was on the team, right, I have
- 1:12:00Speaker 6: a bunch of pictures of his dad was previously on.
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:12:03Speaker 8: Yeah, he's a machine, so he could he could just
- 1:12:05Speaker 8: as easily have played for England, but he opted to
- 1:12:07Speaker 8: play for Norway.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12:08Speaker 6: It's been it's been fun watching the really talented guys.
- 1:12:10Speaker 6: I mean I think that's been what I've enjoyed the
- 1:12:13Speaker 6: most of this World Cup is cluing in on I mean,
- 1:12:15Speaker 6: seeing MESSI still doing it at a high level, and
- 1:12:17Speaker 6: you know, just seeing Holland the way he plays.
- 1:12:19Speaker 4: Can I ask you a soccer question, Fred? Okay, So
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: I didn't know that about Holland. If if he played,
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: if he had played for England. How how could that
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: work with him and Harry Kane.
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: It's true they kind of play the same position.
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: Strike would they be able to like can you do
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: that in soccer? Can you can you find a way
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: to have two like really gifted?
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: Well, I don't know the gifted out for this. The
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: US employed the dual striker system.
- 1:12:49Speaker 10: Okay, So that's why I'm asking because the stuff, I
- 1:12:51Speaker 10: don't know.
- 1:12:52Speaker 8: If you can do it, but it you know, how
- 1:12:55Speaker 8: much is I mean? Kane plays back and I think
- 1:12:58Speaker 8: both of them played defense, you know, but like a
- 1:13:01Speaker 8: guy like right now, Ronaldo, he ain't playing any defense,
- 1:13:05Speaker 8: you know, and that's one of the problems with him
- 1:13:06Speaker 8: in Portugal. MESSI he'll he'll play back. He plays a
- 1:13:11Speaker 8: little defense. But how much are you giving up? I
- 1:13:15Speaker 8: haven't two strikers, you know, I don't know, but that
- 1:13:17Speaker 8: would be a good problem to.
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: Have, huh, Harry Kane and Earlin Holland on the same team.
- 1:13:23Speaker 6: And it was Harry Kane a big Patriots fan, right
- 1:13:25Speaker 6: I've seen is we use a big Brady fan Brady
- 1:13:28Speaker 6: fan okay, okay, okay, and Christian Gonzalis.
- 1:13:31Speaker 10: I think war is uniform into one of the games.
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: Yeah he did. Harry Kane is sorry his kit he's
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: associated with my back.
- 1:13:39Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I've seen a little bit of that, Harry,
- 1:13:42Speaker 6: as he should.
- 1:13:46Speaker 8: Anthony writes in years ago, when Dion Lewis was on
- 1:13:49Speaker 8: the team, I had an hour long argument with my
- 1:13:51Speaker 8: friends because I said he was one of the most.
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: Elusive backs in the NFL.
- 1:13:55Speaker 8: They insisted I was wrong, and then I was wearing
- 1:13:57Speaker 8: my Patriots goggles. They're Giants fans. It wasn't until years
- 1:14:01Speaker 8: later his highlight touchdown against Dallas that my friends finally
- 1:14:05Speaker 8: agreed with me.
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: The vindication was excellent.
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: Years later, the touchdown against Dallas. How many years did
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: you play for the Patriots?
- 1:14:12Speaker 8: In their defense, I once said Aaron Dobson was going
- 1:14:15Speaker 8: to be the guy that I appreciate that the late
- 1:14:20Speaker 8: self deprecation of.
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: That brief moment in time.
- 1:14:22Speaker 8: When I say brief moment, I mean like a span
- 1:14:25Speaker 8: of three or four games. Deon Lewis was like the
- 1:14:28Speaker 8: most elusive man in the NFL for that small period
- 1:14:31Speaker 8: of time. It was amazing what he was doing.
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: I don't know about NFL, but he was electric for
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: a short period of time here, he was very, very productive, because.
- 1:14:40Speaker 6: I mean it was knee injuries, right like he had,
- 1:14:43Speaker 6: and then he came back do what he did.
- 1:14:45Speaker 10: And then he wasn't the same.
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: He tours acl against Washington in the middle of one
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: of those seasons, and he was really never the same.
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: But he had that game against Houston in the playoffs
- 1:14:53Speaker 4: that was unbelievable, a three touchdown game. I think he
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: had a kickoff return in that one.
- 1:14:58Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean it was never on a this is
- 1:15:00Speaker 6: looking at like his I mean, it was really that
- 1:15:02Speaker 6: twenty eighteen season he had a you know that was
- 1:15:04Speaker 6: where that Dallas game was.
- 1:15:07Speaker 9: Ll Maybe that wasn't that Dallas game now I guess
- 1:15:09Speaker 9: it was.
- 1:15:09Speaker 6: Sorry, yeah, but now, I mean just so many of
- 1:15:12Speaker 6: his seasons were just cut short, Yeah, by injury.
- 1:15:16Speaker 8: All right, Brian must really have something he wants to
- 1:15:19Speaker 8: talk to us to the third time, Brian and Florida.
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: What's up?
- 1:15:23Speaker 20: Hey, can you guys hear me?
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, cool? Cool.
- 1:15:28Speaker 20: So I'm calling because I've been working on something that
- 1:15:32Speaker 20: I wanted to run by some sports guys, and you
- 1:15:34Speaker 20: guys are probably the best sports guys to talk to
- 1:15:37Speaker 20: about this because you're Tom Brady people. So basically you
- 1:15:42Speaker 20: know how people talk about who the goat is, and
- 1:15:44Speaker 20: it's pretty much undisputed that Tom Brady's the goat in
- 1:15:47Speaker 20: terms of quarterbacks, you know, Lebron versus MJ. Everyone debates
- 1:15:53Speaker 20: these things. So I created a tool that I was
- 1:15:55Speaker 20: hoping you guys could give me some critical feedback on
- 1:16:00Speaker 20: that measures the best quarterback. So it's, uh, I have
- 1:16:04Speaker 20: a tool, Is it okay?
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: But anyway? Go ahead?
- 1:16:09Speaker 20: It is it cool if I give you my website?
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: Yeah? Sure, as long as it's you know, not born.
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: Are we trying to determine who the best quarterback is
- 1:16:19Speaker 4: by numbers?
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: Yeah, Paul's out.
- 1:16:25Speaker 20: Yeah, So it's a decision Vision dot Com.
- 1:16:29Speaker 8: Decision Vision, okay dot Com.
- 1:16:32Speaker 20: Then, and there's a sport thank you sir. If you
- 1:16:37Speaker 20: go to the sports section, there's a calculator called NFL
- 1:16:41Speaker 20: Goat and it's got sixteen factors on there that you
- 1:16:45Speaker 20: can choose and then you rank those factors to actually
- 1:16:48Speaker 20: come up with a real number. And so what I'm
- 1:16:51Speaker 20: what I'm asking you about is the factors. Want I
- 1:16:55Speaker 20: want better factors. I think I have pretty good ones,
- 1:16:57Speaker 20: but there's a couple on there that I think, like,
- 1:17:00Speaker 20: like what matters to real sports people as to who
- 1:17:03Speaker 20: the actual best is, and like what am I missing?
- 1:17:07Speaker 20: I'm just starting this out and I want to get
- 1:17:08Speaker 20: it to be really great.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: I mean, it's it's to me.
- 1:17:14Speaker 8: For a quarterback, it's how you perform in the most
- 1:17:17Speaker 8: critical situations. You know, forget about playoffs, but third down,
- 1:17:22Speaker 8: third and long, fourth quarter comebacks, fourth quarter comebacks, and
- 1:17:26Speaker 8: then you know, playoff games. Now, a lot of teams,
- 1:17:29Speaker 8: a lot of players don't have that opportunity.
- 1:17:31Speaker 10: But I agree, you know, I agree with you guys.
- 1:17:33Speaker 4: And it's more like the reason why I was half
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: joking when I said I'm out, But I just don't
- 1:17:38Speaker 4: think there's formulas that to pick something that's so subjective,
- 1:17:42Speaker 4: you know, Fred and I can watch something and think
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: one thing. Mike might watch the same thing and think
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: something totally different. Like and that's the beauty of sports,
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: Like it's you know, if it was just about numbers,
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: you wouldn't need three idiots to come on for your
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: lunch day and tell you what happened. You could look
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: at the school board yourself. It's one of my biggest
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: pushbacks with Mike Felger and Tony Maserati when I go
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: on with slaves to the school board. But what do
- 1:18:06Speaker 4: I need you for. I can read the paper and
- 1:18:09Speaker 4: figure out who won too. I don't even have to
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: watch the game, but I think there's a different thing
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: that happens during the course of the game. Fourth quarter comebacks. Yeah,
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: I can tabulate all the fourth quarter to coming. They're
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: not all made the same. You know, one fourth quarter
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: comeback down four needing a touchdown, like say in Cleveland
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: in the AFC Championship game, in terrible weather, when nothing's
- 1:18:29Speaker 4: going right. That John Elway takes a team ninety eight
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: yards means a hell of a lot more to me
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: than a guy who threw like one crossing route over
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: the middle and they kicked a fifty yard field goal
- 1:18:38Speaker 4: to win. They're both fourth quarter comebacks. But my eyes,
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: in my experience, needed to differentiate those two things, right
- 1:18:46Speaker 4: the context.
- 1:18:47Speaker 20: Exactly you're hitting on. Exactly why I created this calculator,
- 1:18:51Speaker 20: because all these numbers don't mean anything if you don't
- 1:18:54Speaker 20: actually rank the statistics in terms of what you care about,
- 1:18:58Speaker 20: and the actual result changes. Whereas you know, if you
- 1:19:01Speaker 20: if you factor certain things, Drew Brees comes up as
- 1:19:04Speaker 20: the best, and if you factor in things like fourth
- 1:19:07Speaker 20: quarter comebacks. Probably Tom Brady factors into that. So I
- 1:19:10Speaker 20: was hoping you guys could take a look at my calculator.
- 1:19:12Speaker 20: It's pretty I think revolutionary for the conversations that people
- 1:19:15Speaker 20: are having around who the best is. I understand statistics,
- 1:19:19Speaker 20: but this actually does the calculations for you by taking
- 1:19:23Speaker 20: the things that you care about and ranking those things
- 1:19:26Speaker 20: that you care about and then applying it to the
- 1:19:28Speaker 20: actual statistics. So it's not perfect, but it can get
- 1:19:31Speaker 20: us a lot. Like where we have conversations around statistics,
- 1:19:34Speaker 20: this can actually center it and you can actually manipulate
- 1:19:39Speaker 20: the data to show you what who the best is?
- 1:19:41Speaker 8: Okay, so right now I'll tell you have do you
- 1:19:45Speaker 8: have a conclusion?
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: Right now?
- 1:19:47Speaker 8: I know you can change it, but right now, who's.
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: The leader of the pack?
- 1:19:53Speaker 20: So it depends on how you measure. There's there's sixteen
- 1:19:56Speaker 20: total factors to choose from. You can use up to
- 1:19:58Speaker 20: eight and if I already use like super Bowl MVP's
- 1:20:04Speaker 20: super Bowl winning percentage, passing touchdowns, all those things factor
- 1:20:10Speaker 20: together and you get Tom Brady easily. Tom Brady. But
- 1:20:15Speaker 20: believe it or not, when you factor in MVPs and
- 1:20:20Speaker 20: the winning percentages and Pat Mahomes is number two. He
- 1:20:24Speaker 20: actually beats out Eli Manning. So it really depends on
- 1:20:27Speaker 20: how you actually what you weigh. More. If you weigh
- 1:20:30Speaker 20: super Bowl wins first, super Bowl MVP, second, super Bowl
- 1:20:35Speaker 20: winning percentage third, and then passing touchdowns fourth, Tom Brady
- 1:20:39Speaker 20: is number one, Pat Mahomes is number two, Eli's three,
- 1:20:42Speaker 20: and so on so forth.
- 1:20:43Speaker 4: You keep saying Eli, You mean Eli, not Peyton Eli Manning. Yeah, yes, sir, Yeah,
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: so that you wouldn't even be It wouldn't even be
- 1:20:53Speaker 4: in my database.
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: Right, It's it's flawed.
- 1:20:55Speaker 8: I mean, right, he can't be better than wad Antana
- 1:21:01Speaker 8: or Peyton Manning.
- 1:21:02Speaker 4: Peyton won two too, Yeah right.
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: So like well one of them he won. He was there,
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: he was on the.
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: Team Fred he won two.
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: I know, I know, but that's the point.
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: Without him, If they kept Brockross while they were playing quarterback,
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: they ain't winning that super Bowl.
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:21:18Speaker 20: But so debate can be solved everything that we're talking
- 1:21:21Speaker 20: about right now. Can you can actually plug in the
- 1:21:24Speaker 20: factors that matter to you. I chose four factors that
- 1:21:26Speaker 20: you don't agree with. If you go back and you
- 1:21:29Speaker 20: choose the factors that actually do matter to you, then
- 1:21:31Speaker 20: you can actually see you see, I'm going.
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: To take a look at it after the show, Brian, absolutely,
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: Division Vision dot Com. Right, decision, decision, decision, Vision Vision
- 1:21:40Speaker 4: dot Com.
- 1:21:41Speaker 10: Yeah, I'm going to take a look at it.
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: Do you have the same for basketball?
- 1:21:45Speaker 20: I dude, that's the cool one. The Lebron versus MJ
- 1:21:48Speaker 20: versus everybody that's in there too, n b A, NFL,
- 1:21:52Speaker 20: Scott Tennis, UFC. I got all of that on there.
- 1:21:55Speaker 8: Okay, all right, yeah, thanks, yeah, thanks for sharing that.
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: Where do you what's your background? Are you like a
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: data analyst or what's your background?
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:22:06Speaker 20: So basically, I create incentive systems for sales teams to
- 1:22:10Speaker 20: determine who deserves the best leads. So what we would
- 1:22:13Speaker 20: do is take a whole sales team and measure all
- 1:22:16Speaker 20: the things that a salesperson does in terms of productivity
- 1:22:19Speaker 20: and how hard they work. And actually we created lead
- 1:22:21Speaker 20: allocation systems based on a power ranking. So I took
- 1:22:25Speaker 20: that same logic of power ranking sales.
- 1:22:30Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, right, always closing, ABC A, b CS, CAS.
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: Okay, all right, well Brian, that's cool. We will check it.
- 1:22:41Speaker 20: Out and yeah we will if you Yeah, we will.
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: Review it and I'm sure Evan will hate it.
- 1:22:48Speaker 10: But Evan will absolutely despise.
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: It because he didn't come up with it. That's cool.
- 1:22:53Speaker 20: I'm glad you still like it. He has to choose
- 1:22:56Speaker 20: his own factors. That's the whole thing.
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, so if you come back, all right, thanks.
- 1:23:02Speaker 8: See, I wouldn't include super Bowl wins, so I don't
- 1:23:05Speaker 8: think that's fair.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: I don't.
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: I don't mind including super Bowl wins. Super Bowl winning percentage,
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: to me, doesn't make a lot of sense because I
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: think you're penalizing someone for achieving more.
- 1:23:15Speaker 9: As we always said.
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: In other words, Montana wins every time if you no.
- 1:23:19Speaker 4: But what I'm saying is like Peyton Manning, Eli Manning,
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: Peyton Manning's two and one, Eli Manning's two and zero.
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: What's the bigger accomplishment getting to three and winning two
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: or only getting to two?
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: Right? Right?
- 1:23:35Speaker 4: Like I've never understood the argument, you know, and this
- 1:23:38Speaker 4: has been put to rest because Brady put it away
- 1:23:40Speaker 4: with seven titles. But like Brady was always banged for
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: the super Bowl losses that Montana didn't have. Like I
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: would much rather go ten times and lose three then
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: only go four times and win all four.
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so, but it's interesting, so we will take
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: a look.
- 1:24:00Speaker 4: At like a conference. Conference championships don't matter, you know,
- 1:24:04Speaker 4: because Joe Montana got knocked out of the playoffs before
- 1:24:07Speaker 4: he got to the super Bowl, right, he has just
- 1:24:08Speaker 4: as many playoff losses as everybody else. And I like Joe. Man,
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: this is not slam in Joe Montana. But I'm just
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: saying it's a little flawed to go by super Bowl
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: winning percentage, you know.
- 1:24:19Speaker 8: But like just the eye test, John Elway was probably
- 1:24:23Speaker 8: the best.
- 1:24:24Speaker 10: John always the answer to the question for me, he's
- 1:24:27Speaker 10: the best.
- 1:24:27Speaker 3: Like you know, the arm, the running, everything, the amount
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: that he had to do.
- 1:24:33Speaker 10: This is why I say, like it's I.
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: Don't really like mathematical formulas to determine these things because
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: because you're wrong, let me tell.
- 1:24:40Speaker 9: You what the number right here? Boom argument over.
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: I think Freddy, and this is one that I feel
- 1:24:47Speaker 4: comfortable with because I know Freddy feels the same way.
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: But like when you watched a guy do so much
- 1:24:54Speaker 4: for the team and you knew, like you take that
- 1:24:57Speaker 4: guy out. This team is very pedestrian in there's no
- 1:25:01Speaker 4: number to put, there's no qualifier, there's no stat that says, well,
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: you know what, Well, actually Brady meant more to his team,
- 1:25:09Speaker 4: Like you can't quantify it, you just have to sort
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: of experience it and see it and like wow that
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: really that team would really be nothing if it wonder
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: for those kind of clutch performances.
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: They made, you know, a big deal about the three
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: amigos at Denver. Those guys weren't that good? Elway made
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: them good?
- 1:25:26Speaker 8: Yeah, you know, Yeah, Rodney's in Foxborough. What's up, Rodney?
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: Why don't you just come by?
- 1:25:34Speaker 4: I'll we're in lockdown.
- 1:25:39Speaker 21: First, I love that Paul complimented the name and then
- 1:25:42Speaker 21: immediately did not have the correct name right afterwards.
- 1:25:45Speaker 10: So that was no, yeah, no, that's true.
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: I did.
- 1:25:48Speaker 10: I butchered that I did.
- 1:25:50Speaker 4: Yeah, but decisions in.
- 1:25:53Speaker 21: Such since twenty eleven, and this is my first time
- 1:25:57Speaker 21: calling what I want to call.
- 1:26:00Speaker 20: So I actually want to hit on a couple.
- 1:26:01Speaker 21: Of things quickly. One, I think the cultural thing on
- 1:26:04Speaker 21: soccer is totally it. I actually grew up the first
- 1:26:07Speaker 21: eight years of my life in Paraguay, so you know,
- 1:26:09Speaker 21: that was a pretty thrilling game. The World Cup's always
- 1:26:12Speaker 21: been so much fun for me to watch. But I
- 1:26:14Speaker 21: feel like it's just we don't in the US, we
- 1:26:18Speaker 21: really don't play like soccer. We don't really It's like
- 1:26:21Speaker 21: we don't emphasize things like kicking a ball. So I
- 1:26:25Speaker 21: feel like, not that you can't, but there's just so
- 1:26:27Speaker 21: many other things that we have to play. So, I mean,
- 1:26:30Speaker 21: it's been hit on, but I just felt like in Alex,
- 1:26:34Speaker 21: I feel like hit it pretty well in culture and
- 1:26:37Speaker 21: I think everything similar. So yeah, and even when I
- 1:26:41Speaker 21: was there, I mean, I was a big American kid,
- 1:26:43Speaker 21: so they put me in goal. They basically didn't want
- 1:26:45Speaker 21: anything to do with me kicking a soccer ball around either.
- 1:26:47Speaker 21: So so anyway, that was just one thing that I
- 1:26:51Speaker 21: wanted to chime in on that. But then also, Fred,
- 1:26:54Speaker 21: mister boss man, I need you to get Alex on
- 1:26:58Speaker 21: the show the time. I feel like she adds so
- 1:27:01Speaker 21: much the show. I was hoping that she was going
- 1:27:03Speaker 21: to be on today, but I think it's Paul's hit
- 1:27:07Speaker 21: this a bunch of times. She knows a lot about
- 1:27:11Speaker 21: a lot of things, and I feel like she brings
- 1:27:14Speaker 21: different a different side of the conversation. I know she
- 1:27:16Speaker 21: might have other things, but I got to believe you've
- 1:27:18Speaker 21: got the power to get her on the show every time.
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: She can come on anytime she wants. She's busy, she's
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: got other things that she has to do.
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: She's actually doing a lot of writing right now as
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: we speak at Paul's.
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: So you know, a lot of it.
- 1:27:29Speaker 8: There's some conflicts there in terms of scheduling, but she's
- 1:27:32Speaker 8: she's welcome to trade here anytime.
- 1:27:35Speaker 7: You can't.
- 1:27:35Speaker 21: You can't free that up for you know, like.
- 1:27:38Speaker 8: If there's a community, if thing that she has to
- 1:27:41Speaker 8: go to, they're not going to change. You know, Drake
- 1:27:43Speaker 8: may coming to the Boys and Girls Club because the
- 1:27:46Speaker 8: page's unfiltered.
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: You know, that's usually I guess that's fair.
- 1:27:50Speaker 21: But yeah, anyway, she's she adds this end of the show.
- 1:27:53Speaker 21: So I love having her perspective on the show. But
- 1:27:56Speaker 21: she's really the only real good reason to log in
- 1:27:59Speaker 21: and watch the She's much.
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: Better look at that's for sure. Yeah.
- 1:28:02Speaker 10: He he just basically said that.
- 1:28:05Speaker 21: I may or may not have said that. I know
- 1:28:07Speaker 21: she was spoken for it. So I was going to
- 1:28:08Speaker 21: try and keep it as PG as possible, but I
- 1:28:11Speaker 21: don't see uh, and I will. I had some other
- 1:28:17Speaker 21: things to add that I'll do at another time. Friend,
- 1:28:19Speaker 21: I emailed you last week and I didn't get read.
- 1:28:22Speaker 21: So I'll have to work on my my content to
- 1:28:25Speaker 21: figure out how to get that right next time.
- 1:28:27Speaker 6: All right, thanks Rodney. Rodney, you know just started. I
- 1:28:31Speaker 6: was messing around on decision vision. So there's a lot
- 1:28:33Speaker 6: of different things. It's not just football. There's all kinds
- 1:28:36Speaker 6: of different things that you can use this for. So
- 1:28:39Speaker 6: I just messing around a little bit. I just said, Uh,
- 1:28:42Speaker 6: I did Defensive Player of the Year. War Career interceptions,
- 1:28:45Speaker 6: career sacks, career approximate value are my four factors, and
- 1:28:47Speaker 6: it gave me Charles Woodson as number one. It's not
- 1:28:52Speaker 6: only quarterbacks, so you can do different things too. Okay, anyway,
- 1:28:56Speaker 6: continue here, continue.
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: What about Star worst character?
- 1:29:00Speaker 9: Oh, let's see, now here we go.
- 1:29:02Speaker 6: That's uh got to see if we can log into that.
- 1:29:05Speaker 10: I'm more out on that than I am.
- 1:29:08Speaker 6: Vehicles we could do long, we could do you know,
- 1:29:10Speaker 6: speed Queen. We put speed Queen to the ye wash
- 1:29:13Speaker 6: your dryers.
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: Morgan wants to know where should lebron go.
- 1:29:18Speaker 4: Ah, either Cleveland or Miami. I'll say Cleveland.
- 1:29:24Speaker 10: Just sort of put a bow on the career.
- 1:29:27Speaker 6: Cleveland Miami. Sure, that's nice.
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: I like that.
- 1:29:30Speaker 10: That's nice.
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: Especially because I was just here in Boston.
- 1:29:34Speaker 10: I don't want we want any part of him?
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: Now you don't want any part of it?
- 1:29:37Speaker 6: Is that a possibility? Is that being discussed?
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: Play Boston.
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: He won't come here. He's super racist.
- 1:29:43Speaker 10: There's no way they're spending the money.
- 1:29:44Speaker 6: Bronnie. I want Bronnie. Can we get Bronnie?
- 1:29:48Speaker 10: Bronnie Ronnie?
- 1:29:50Speaker 3: Okay?
- 1:29:51Speaker 4: I did like pat Riley putting his foot down Janni's
- 1:29:54Speaker 4: brothers in Miami.
- 1:29:57Speaker 6: You guys want to do a movie one on a
- 1:29:58Speaker 6: decision vision, we can pick some factor, all right, let's
- 1:30:00Speaker 6: do Uh So you gotta pick what genre you want.
- 1:30:03Speaker 6: You want like drama, horror, comedy, faith.
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: What's the end goal movie?
- 1:30:07Speaker 6: This is gonna best movie that's based on our factors.
- 1:30:09Speaker 6: You want to do a comedy movie.
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: Why do you have to pick a genre?
- 1:30:12Speaker 9: Well, that's those are the factors that we can pick.
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: Here.
- 1:30:15Speaker 4: We got we got about so that's not giving me
- 1:30:18Speaker 4: the best movie. We got about the best whatever the genre.
- 1:30:20Speaker 9: Is, right, Well, we could not include a genre if
- 1:30:22Speaker 9: you'd like.
- 1:30:24Speaker 6: That's that's that's what you can do a genre free.
- 1:30:26Speaker 6: I'll throw out the sixteen things. You guys tell me
- 1:30:28Speaker 6: what we can include how many do we get?
- 1:30:31Speaker 9: We can do four with them?
- 1:30:32Speaker 6: So drama, short run time, total, oscar wins online interest
- 1:30:36Speaker 6: included on Netflix, on YouTube Paid Action Adventure, Horror, Faith
- 1:30:40Speaker 6: recent release, worldwide box office free.
- 1:30:42Speaker 9: To stream right now, included on Hulu. Included on Prime
- 1:30:45Speaker 9: Sci Fi?
- 1:30:45Speaker 4: Can we only can we only just do one category.
- 1:30:48Speaker 9: That you want to just do?
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: Comedy?
- 1:30:49Speaker 10: Yeah, see what the best see what the best comedy is.
- 1:30:51Speaker 6: Let's if we can do that. I don't know if
- 1:30:53Speaker 6: we can know you gotta choose three. You gotta choose
- 1:30:55Speaker 6: three on this one.
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: What are three?
- 1:30:57Speaker 4: The three most nondescript? Because I don't really care. I mean,
- 1:30:59Speaker 4: I'm sure that all those factors are important, Like that's.
- 1:31:02Speaker 6: The best comedy, that's.
- 1:31:04Speaker 4: Recent release, whatever, run time, those things are important.
- 1:31:09Speaker 6: Worldwide box office, let's throw that on there.
- 1:31:11Speaker 10: I don't like I'm trying to figure out what the
- 1:31:13Speaker 10: best is.
- 1:31:13Speaker 4: Not the one that.
- 1:31:14Speaker 6: Made the most point is we're gonna do and a
- 1:31:16Speaker 6: short run time is the last one? How about that?
- 1:31:18Speaker 6: Let's just see what it gives us. We're doing comedy,
- 1:31:20Speaker 6: worldwide box office, online interest in short run time and
- 1:31:24Speaker 6: calculate in the winner is Minions.
- 1:31:34Speaker 4: French's facial expressions is speaking volumes.
- 1:31:36Speaker 8: All right, we have to tune that upright.
- 1:31:41Speaker 6: We're gonna need some more fames.
- 1:31:43Speaker 8: Let's go email games Reno rights in Reno High Tower.
- 1:31:49Speaker 8: I know y'all don't like to wear jerseys with another
- 1:31:51Speaker 8: man's name on it, but.
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: For me, I don't care what you think.
- 1:31:56Speaker 8: I find joy in buying and wearing jerseys of players
- 1:31:59Speaker 8: I love. The One thing I hate from fans and
- 1:32:02Speaker 8: he has fans and quotes are the ones who have
- 1:32:04Speaker 8: multiple teams in the same league. I've known a few
- 1:32:08Speaker 8: people who say they have an NFC and an AFC team.
- 1:32:11Speaker 8: To me, if you have multiple teams, you're not a
- 1:32:14Speaker 8: real fan. Stay loyal to your one team.
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: What do you think?
- 1:32:18Speaker 8: Also, I'm excited for the season to start and just
- 1:32:21Speaker 8: bought an eighty five inch Samsung q led TV on
- 1:32:26Speaker 8: payments though, because we're not all rich like Christian in LA.
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: But eighty five inch TV these days, that can't be that.
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: I mean, they probably have good deals on them, right.
- 1:32:35Speaker 4: Yeah, you can get a good TV for a reasonable
- 1:32:37Speaker 4: price nowadays.
- 1:32:38Speaker 6: Back in the day it was.
- 1:32:40Speaker 10: But that's great.
- 1:32:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I I'm not a big view. People give me
- 1:32:44Speaker 4: a lot of static because they think I'm telling people
- 1:32:47Speaker 4: how to be fans about they're wearing the shirt thing.
- 1:32:50Speaker 4: Why is it okay for the people that wear shirts
- 1:32:52Speaker 4: that tell people how they're supposed to be fans? They
- 1:32:54Speaker 4: can't have any other teams? Like if your team is out,
- 1:32:58Speaker 4: you don't root for anyone you don't like? What to
- 1:33:00Speaker 4: makes you a bad fan? Like no, I got a
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: pout and just look in the corner and not watch,
- 1:33:05Speaker 4: Like why why is that okay for you to tell
- 1:33:08Speaker 4: everybody else how they should be fans?
- 1:33:10Speaker 15: Now?
- 1:33:10Speaker 6: I only I don't.
- 1:33:11Speaker 9: I don't have a lot of teams though.
- 1:33:12Speaker 4: You know, I don't have a lot.
- 1:33:13Speaker 6: I don't have a lot of chance. But that's not
- 1:33:15Speaker 6: the points. That's kind of it. I think I said before.
- 1:33:17Speaker 9: When I was in LA, I was like, I'm gonna
- 1:33:18Speaker 9: try to be a Dodgers fan.
- 1:33:19Speaker 6: I try to watch the Dodgers, and I try to
- 1:33:21Speaker 6: and this is back before they were the Dodgers now,
- 1:33:22Speaker 6: but I just didn't like.
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: I used to really like.
- 1:33:25Speaker 4: I used to really like the San Francisco Giants when
- 1:33:27Speaker 4: I was probably in high school, the Red Sox on
- 1:33:30Speaker 4: my team, my National League team was the Giants. Evidently
- 1:33:33Speaker 4: that's that's wrong. I don't care about the Giants anymore.
- 1:33:35Speaker 4: But you know, back in the day, they had some
- 1:33:39Speaker 4: left handed pitchers. I was a left handed pitcher. Attlee
- 1:33:41Speaker 4: Hammacker and Dave Draveki and those guys you.
- 1:33:44Speaker 9: Moved around so like and you would be a fan
- 1:33:47Speaker 9: of the low I mean.
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: I was a young kid.
- 1:33:49Speaker 8: When I was real young, before second grade, I was
- 1:33:52Speaker 8: a Red Sox fan. We had yaz Bread and Channel
- 1:33:56Speaker 8: six had all the Red Sox games, so you know,
- 1:33:58Speaker 8: Rico Petrocelli, Tony Knigliaro, all those guys. But then we
- 1:34:03Speaker 8: moved to Jersey and everybody was either a Yankees fan
- 1:34:07Speaker 8: or a Mets fan. And I chose the Mets because
- 1:34:09Speaker 8: I really liked Jerry Koozman and I like Cleon Jones
- 1:34:13Speaker 8: because he threw left and batted right like I did.
- 1:34:17Speaker 8: And so I kind of gravitated to the Mets in
- 1:34:20Speaker 8: a paid.
- 1:34:20Speaker 6: That's both you guys. You guys both throw a left
- 1:34:22Speaker 6: that right, correct, That's fun.
- 1:34:24Speaker 10: It's very rare.
- 1:34:24Speaker 4: There was not a lot like the fact that he
- 1:34:26Speaker 4: knows Leon Jones did that is because that they stand out.
- 1:34:29Speaker 10: Ricky Henderson did it too. There's not that many guys.
- 1:34:32Speaker 8: Like that, and so you know paid off in sixty
- 1:34:35Speaker 8: nine when the Mets won, and so I became But
- 1:34:38Speaker 8: I always was a reds I still remained a Red
- 1:34:41Speaker 8: Sox fan.
- 1:34:42Speaker 9: But when you left New Jersey, did you maintain those
- 1:34:44Speaker 9: connections to the Mets.
- 1:34:46Speaker 10: It all depended on who was winning the title.
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: But I was.
- 1:34:49Speaker 8: I was a big Knicks fan, a big Jets fan
- 1:34:52Speaker 8: because I love Joe Namath.
- 1:34:53Speaker 10: I like it.
- 1:34:54Speaker 8: I was a Mets fan, and I was a Rangers fan.
- 1:34:56Speaker 6: Right A lot of a lot of local people Rangers.
- 1:34:58Speaker 6: My dad was a Rangers fan too.
- 1:35:00Speaker 8: I think they got and I remember Brad Park, New
- 1:35:02Speaker 8: York Rangers. Brad Park was a Ranger and and he
- 1:35:06Speaker 8: wrote a book and I used to read all the
- 1:35:08Speaker 8: sports book and he called the Boston fans bush league,
- 1:35:12Speaker 8: and then he ended up on the Bruins. Uh, and
- 1:35:15Speaker 8: I still, you know, remained a Brad Park fan.
- 1:35:18Speaker 3: I actually met him. What a nice guy?
- 1:35:20Speaker 10: Did you?
- 1:35:21Speaker 4: Did you tell him?
- 1:35:21Speaker 10: Like Boston?
- 1:35:26Speaker 8: I was with aboaut then, but but then you know,
- 1:35:30Speaker 8: I moved in eighth grade to the Cape and uh
- 1:35:35Speaker 8: quickly became a Celtics back to Red Sox, believe it
- 1:35:40Speaker 8: or not, and I you know, I have to admit this.
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: I really wasn't a Patriots fan.
- 1:35:46Speaker 8: They sucks so bad, you know, and I know in
- 1:35:48Speaker 8: eighties they did well, But I just, I just I
- 1:35:52Speaker 8: just I was a Denver Bronco fan, you know, I always,
- 1:35:56Speaker 8: I know, I know, I always love.
- 1:35:58Speaker 3: The a f C.
- 1:35:58Speaker 8: Westlaner with the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 1:36:02Speaker 10: Oh you're not a real fan.
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: I probably wasn't.
- 1:36:05Speaker 8: I probably wasn't, but I love the Orange Crush that
- 1:36:08Speaker 8: whole idea, and I love you know, Carl Mecklenburg and
- 1:36:12Speaker 8: then later Randy gratischar I love those players.
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: And so I was. I was a Denver Broncos fan.
- 1:36:18Speaker 4: So I always when that was before l Way by
- 1:36:20Speaker 4: the way, I would always root you know, I was
- 1:36:23Speaker 4: a huge Patriots fan. But Fred's right, it was hard
- 1:36:25Speaker 4: because you just knew like they weren't, they weren't going
- 1:36:29Speaker 4: to be there. So like every year whoever that like,
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: there was a new team, and that seventy seven Orange
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: Crush Denver team was one of those. Like I rooted,
- 1:36:37Speaker 4: like really passionately for them to beat the Raiders in
- 1:36:40Speaker 4: the AFC Championship game that year, and I rooted for
- 1:36:43Speaker 4: them against Dallas and the Super Bowl and then they.
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: Got killed crushed.
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: But I would root for Dallas against Pittsburgh because Pittsburgh
- 1:36:48Speaker 4: was always winning.
- 1:36:49Speaker 3: Yeap.
- 1:36:49Speaker 4: Then San Francisco got good that for like they went
- 1:36:52Speaker 4: from three to thirteen to thirteen and three. And I
- 1:36:54Speaker 4: was a huge Niners fan for one year. Yeah, and
- 1:36:56Speaker 4: then I hated them because they won all the time.
- 1:36:59Speaker 6: How does that work? You're could you watch the games even.
- 1:37:01Speaker 10: Like you know what I mean, you just follow the
- 1:37:03Speaker 10: best you can. Brent Musburger, you're looking.
- 1:37:06Speaker 8: Live halftime Monday Night Football, Howard Cosell's Yeah.
- 1:37:10Speaker 9: I was for me.
- 1:37:11Speaker 6: It was at the main Jel Green NFL Primetime and
- 1:37:15Speaker 6: Inside the NFL, those two like Sunday Nights with NFL
- 1:37:18Speaker 6: Primetime with Boomer and then inside the NFL. I love
- 1:37:21Speaker 6: that show, you know, just each one was like the
- 1:37:24Speaker 6: NFL films, filmic look back at the week, and I
- 1:37:27Speaker 6: just I don't know if it still has that filmic
- 1:37:31Speaker 6: kind of epic quality and those you know, the way
- 1:37:34Speaker 6: that it captured me as a kid. It was just
- 1:37:36Speaker 6: that was like must watch TV. Who is it Leo
- 1:37:38Speaker 6: quarterback from the Chiefs Len Yeah, yeah, I think Chris
- 1:37:44Speaker 6: Collinsworth might have come on at some point.
- 1:37:46Speaker 10: He came on.
- 1:37:47Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, but we remember my friends and I we
- 1:37:49Speaker 6: would all like we would record Primetime and we'd like
- 1:37:51Speaker 6: talk about it the next day.
- 1:37:52Speaker 4: I loved watching Primetime with with Boomer and Tom Jackson.
- 1:37:55Speaker 4: I didn't watch Inside the NFL that much. I know,
- 1:37:58Speaker 4: the show I didn't watch like regularly.
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: That was an hour show. It seemed like three hours.
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: It was like the slowest moving show I did.
- 1:38:06Speaker 4: We just go to the highlights, right, you don't need
- 1:38:08Speaker 4: the lime time was was great though, like that was
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: a great way to you know, but you know, now
- 1:38:13Speaker 4: you get to see all the games and you don't
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: really need it, right.
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:38:16Speaker 4: I think it's I think they still do it, but
- 1:38:18Speaker 4: it's like on yeah, yeah, find like.
- 1:38:22Speaker 6: Chris Rose does it on NFL Network. That's usually like
- 1:38:24Speaker 6: when we get done here and I get home and
- 1:38:27Speaker 6: he I do. I saw him at the combine in India.
- 1:38:29Speaker 6: I just wanted to because it's always like, you know,
- 1:38:31Speaker 6: work is no I just said, it's my favorite part
- 1:38:33Speaker 6: of it's you know, it's like your work's done.
- 1:38:35Speaker 9: You could just sit down and.
- 1:38:36Speaker 6: Be like, all right, what the hell happened? Because I'm
- 1:38:37Speaker 6: not like Paul. I can't just watch red Zone and
- 1:38:39Speaker 6: then decode it all.
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: And so I will say, like on Sundays when I
- 1:38:42Speaker 4: would get home, and you know, it's assuming it was
- 1:38:45Speaker 4: a one o'clock game, so they might be like one
- 1:38:48Speaker 4: game that geez, I wonder what happened? Like this is weird?
- 1:38:52Speaker 10: How did this unfold?
- 1:38:53Speaker 4: And I'll wait to see the highlight of that one
- 1:38:55Speaker 4: game because I didn't know, you know, like how how
- 1:38:58Speaker 4: did they go from up twelve to having a kick
- 1:39:00Speaker 4: a field goal to win the game? But you know,
- 1:39:02Speaker 4: like what happened there?
- 1:39:04Speaker 8: And his poor kid on TV he met Jalen Brown
- 1:39:07Speaker 8: made a big impression. Now he's just crying his eyes
- 1:39:09Speaker 8: out because he's gone. I don't blame him, no, I
- 1:39:12Speaker 8: feel you.
- 1:39:13Speaker 6: Ever have your heart broken like that by a player
- 1:39:14Speaker 6: or anything like disappointing.
- 1:39:16Speaker 4: That's a good question, but that's the age when you
- 1:39:19Speaker 4: got that half. Like the kid looks like he couldn't
- 1:39:22Speaker 4: be more than like six or seven years old, right,
- 1:39:24Speaker 4: If he's even that old, I don't know.
- 1:39:26Speaker 6: Yeah, he's the closest thing, I guess. And I wasn't
- 1:39:29Speaker 6: upset about it, and I was older. I mean, I
- 1:39:30Speaker 6: was in college or out of college. But Ray Boor,
- 1:39:32Speaker 6: who was like my favorite player growing up, and like
- 1:39:35Speaker 6: I remember being so excited to see him win Avalanche.
- 1:39:38Speaker 3: You bring up Ray Boord.
- 1:39:40Speaker 8: You want to talk about embarrassing moments, That's one of
- 1:39:43Speaker 8: the most embarrassing Boston sports moments I've ever lived. Pade
- 1:39:47Speaker 8: letting him go to Colorado, come back with the trophy
- 1:39:51Speaker 8: and have a freaking parade. How pathetic is that as
- 1:39:56Speaker 8: a franchise to do that.
- 1:39:58Speaker 6: I was embarrassed, right, It's like, we're so bad, but
- 1:40:01Speaker 6: you got the cup. We couldn't do We weren't willing
- 1:40:04Speaker 6: to go there.
- 1:40:04Speaker 8: It's not enough to just let them go and win it,
- 1:40:06Speaker 8: but you're gonna bring them back and celebrate it.
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: Yeah, are you kidding?
- 1:40:10Speaker 10: I had no problem with the trade. Yeah, but the
- 1:40:12Speaker 10: parade was bad.
- 1:40:13Speaker 8: Look, I was that was embarrassing bad.
- 1:40:15Speaker 6: Look, I mean the Don Branch won that kind of
- 1:40:18Speaker 6: I mean it's, you know, as an adult just being like,
- 1:40:20Speaker 6: oh man, Deon Branch, like, you know.
- 1:40:22Speaker 4: That was I don't, guy, I don't think that any
- 1:40:25Speaker 4: of those as an adult.
- 1:40:28Speaker 9: No, it's no comparison.
- 1:40:29Speaker 10: I can't think of anything in this.
- 1:40:31Speaker 8: As a kid was there anything that devastated you, almost
- 1:40:34Speaker 8: to the point of tears, if not too so.
- 1:40:37Speaker 4: Yeah, like when the Red Sox led, like Fred Lynne
- 1:40:40Speaker 4: and Carlton Fist go, you know, like fred Lynne was
- 1:40:43Speaker 4: my favorite player, fred Land and Jim Rice and my
- 1:40:45Speaker 4: two favorite Red Sox what a duo.
- 1:40:47Speaker 10: And they when they let.
- 1:40:48Speaker 4: Fred they traded Fred Lane, they let fist go and
- 1:40:51Speaker 4: free agency that. Like I was, you know, it's like
- 1:40:53Speaker 4: maybe twelve thirteen years old. I was bummed out.
- 1:40:56Speaker 9: That was really Bruins eighty eight Cup loss.
- 1:40:59Speaker 6: I think I was twelve years old.
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: That was.
- 1:41:01Speaker 6: That was one for me. Like I was way into that,
- 1:41:04Speaker 6: like every playoff game.
- 1:41:05Speaker 4: Drinking heavy and he's probably twelve years old.
- 1:41:08Speaker 6: Yeah, I was doing Like I had a neighborhood pool,
- 1:41:11Speaker 6: Like I would go to everybody's so I'm like, you know,
- 1:41:12Speaker 6: we want to bet on the Bruins now, and I
- 1:41:14Speaker 6: would like have everybody, you know, chip in a buck
- 1:41:16Speaker 6: in the neighborhood and then somebody won the pool.
- 1:41:18Speaker 8: But I think the most disappointed I was in an
- 1:41:21Speaker 8: outcome was Ali Fraser one. When Ali lost, Wow, Oh
- 1:41:26Speaker 8: I was I was devastated for that one.
- 1:41:28Speaker 13: Now.
- 1:41:28Speaker 9: How now, back in the day could It wasn't like.
- 1:41:31Speaker 3: And so here's what I did. You couldn't watch it.
- 1:41:34Speaker 8: So on AM radio there was a station that after
- 1:41:39Speaker 8: every round gave you an update. So I remember being
- 1:41:41Speaker 8: in bed and this is like late at night and
- 1:41:44Speaker 8: just glued to the radio waiting for that round to
- 1:41:47Speaker 8: end so you could hear from this guy and whoever,
- 1:41:50Speaker 8: I forget who was doing it. No, yeah, they did
- 1:41:54Speaker 8: a good job, because that was on the edge.
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: Of my seat.
- 1:41:56Speaker 8: And then you get to that last round and you know,
- 1:42:00Speaker 8: uh round before I think where Fraser broke his jaw.
- 1:42:04Speaker 3: It's like, oh my god.
- 1:42:05Speaker 8: But he's still fighting, you know, and he's got enough
- 1:42:08Speaker 8: rounds built up, he's still gonna win.
- 1:42:10Speaker 3: He's still gonna win.
- 1:42:11Speaker 8: It by decision, and he ended up losing, and I
- 1:42:13Speaker 8: was just devastated. And then that week, uh, Sports Illustrated
- 1:42:19Speaker 8: comes after, you know, that's back then a weekly magazine
- 1:42:23Speaker 8: still had relevance, and they showed Ali's face. He had
- 1:42:29Speaker 8: the broken jaw, but Fraser's face looked like he went
- 1:42:32Speaker 8: through a war.
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: I mean, it was just bumps.
- 1:42:35Speaker 8: Everywhere because you know, Ali was just pelting him all night.
- 1:42:39Speaker 6: But what an epic battle that was. Devastated when you
- 1:42:43Speaker 6: got the magazine. Was that the first time you'd actually
- 1:42:44Speaker 6: seen like imagery in your head and that brought it
- 1:42:49Speaker 6: to life?
- 1:42:50Speaker 8: Yeah, it was a different time. Now it's you're seeing
- 1:42:54Speaker 8: it in the moment, you're watching.
- 1:42:55Speaker 4: It on your hand, like than not. We'll ever get
- 1:43:00Speaker 4: to that. But again, I was, I was. I was
- 1:43:03Speaker 4: in high school.
- 1:43:03Speaker 10: So actually it was my freshman year at college. I
- 1:43:06Speaker 10: just started. I just started college.
- 1:43:08Speaker 6: Well how did you feel? Because you were a Mets
- 1:43:09Speaker 6: fan too, so like you knowed then by then we
- 1:43:13Speaker 6: were we were living in Boston at the Men's Club
- 1:43:17Speaker 6: on comm Ab and doing bets.
- 1:43:20Speaker 8: Uh but uh, after Game six, I put a sign
- 1:43:24Speaker 8: out by the tea. I said, if there's justice, justice
- 1:43:28Speaker 8: on earth and a god in heaven, the Red Sox
- 1:43:30Speaker 8: will win the series and seven and I put that
- 1:43:32Speaker 8: sign out and they ended up losing anyway.
- 1:43:35Speaker 4: She sent that nice like little piece of Robert Kraft.
- 1:43:40Speaker 4: When is that how you got the job?
- 1:43:41Speaker 15: No?
- 1:43:42Speaker 10: Look, I mean, look what I did, mister Kraft. This
- 1:43:45Speaker 10: is creative.
- 1:43:46Speaker 8: Well, my history with the Red Sox is actually I
- 1:43:50Speaker 8: used to be the editor in chief of a magazine
- 1:43:52Speaker 8: called New England Sport, and uh, there was a well
- 1:43:56Speaker 8: known writer, Glenn's Glenn Stout, who used to be the
- 1:44:01Speaker 8: editor of the Best American Sports Writers. It was a
- 1:44:04Speaker 8: compilation thing anyway. So he came to me with this idea.
- 1:44:08Speaker 8: He said, back in nineteen eighteen, when the Red Sox
- 1:44:11Speaker 8: won the World Series, there was a strike during the
- 1:44:14Speaker 8: series and the league was so mad at both teams
- 1:44:18Speaker 8: that when the Red Sox won, they didn't get the
- 1:44:22Speaker 8: commemorative fobs that World Series winners went. Back then, you
- 1:44:26Speaker 8: didn't get a ring. You got a fob. It was
- 1:44:27Speaker 8: like a key fob or a change. It's like a
- 1:44:31Speaker 8: change and with a pin at the end. And so
- 1:44:34Speaker 8: none of the Red Sox players got the fob. So
- 1:44:38Speaker 8: Glenn wrote this story that the curse wasn't Babe Ruth
- 1:44:42Speaker 8: being traded. The curse was that they never got this thing,
- 1:44:45Speaker 8: and we have to Baseball, Major League Baseball has to
- 1:44:48Speaker 8: right this wrong and give them their fob. So after
- 1:44:52Speaker 8: we published the story, I started a campaign. So I
- 1:44:55Speaker 8: met with the Red Sox and I said, can we
- 1:44:58Speaker 8: can we do this range for the descendants of this
- 1:45:01Speaker 8: team to come, because well, we're not going to do it.
- 1:45:04Speaker 8: There has to be a movement. So if you can
- 1:45:06Speaker 8: get a petition with like ten thousand names, we'll do it.
- 1:45:10Speaker 8: So for that season, the Red Sox allowed me to
- 1:45:14Speaker 8: set up a table outside of Fenway Park and before
- 1:45:16Speaker 8: every home game, I would gather names, and we got
- 1:45:20Speaker 8: the names, and so we got in touch with Babe,
- 1:45:23Speaker 8: Ruth's granddaughter and all the descendants, Bobby Door, all these people.
- 1:45:27Speaker 3: I don't know, Bobby Dorsh. It was I forget all the.
- 1:45:31Speaker 8: Names, but we got them together and they had the
- 1:45:35Speaker 8: day and they found the design for the fob and
- 1:45:39Speaker 8: they actually.
- 1:45:40Speaker 3: Had this event.
- 1:45:41Speaker 8: It was I think we were playing the Kansas City
- 1:45:43Speaker 8: Royals and they had the event and everyone was on
- 1:45:47Speaker 8: the field and they gave them the fobs.
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: And that season they went on like a thirteen game win.
- 1:45:52Speaker 3: Stream Right after that happened, and so Channel Channel seven
- 1:45:56Speaker 3: came to my house and interviewed me like, this is
- 1:45:59Speaker 3: going to be this is the year. Yeah funny, yeah, yeah,
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: what year was that?
- 1:46:03Speaker 9: It wasn't two thousand and four.
- 1:46:04Speaker 8: No, it was it was eighty nine, ninety it was
- 1:46:10Speaker 8: late eighties or early nineties.
- 1:46:12Speaker 3: I forget. Actually the actually year eighty eight. Did you
- 1:46:16Speaker 3: get a fob?
- 1:46:16Speaker 9: I hope you got.
- 1:46:17Speaker 8: You kept the fune Oh I didn't get one. No,
- 1:46:18Speaker 8: I didn't get one, the fop guy. Yeah I should
- 1:46:21Speaker 8: have got one. Yeah, the whole thing, ten thousand signatures. Yeah,
- 1:46:25Speaker 8: did you have like a whole presentation. But it was
- 1:46:26Speaker 8: great because we'd collect the signatures until like the second inning,
- 1:46:30Speaker 8: then we go in and watch the game.
- 1:46:33Speaker 3: Yeah, you used to be able to do that.
- 1:46:35Speaker 6: I felt like you used to be able walk in
- 1:46:36Speaker 6: Red Sox games like seventh inning on.
- 1:46:37Speaker 9: It was just like doors open, you could just play.
- 1:46:39Speaker 10: Oh yeah, they let you walk in.
- 1:46:41Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:46:41Speaker 10: Yeah, because when I was in school we did that
- 1:46:43Speaker 10: a lot.
- 1:46:43Speaker 6: Yeah remember that.
- 1:46:45Speaker 8: Yeah, when I was in college, we get three bucks,
- 1:46:47Speaker 8: three dollars seats and sit in the bleachers.
- 1:46:48Speaker 6: Yeah that was I mean when I was driving cross country,
- 1:46:51Speaker 6: it was like we could have walked into Colorado for
- 1:46:54Speaker 6: fourteen dollars. We could have gone into Cleveland for like
- 1:46:56Speaker 6: twenty two dollars.
- 1:46:57Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:46:57Speaker 10: It was like it was like midweek afternoon games.
- 1:47:00Speaker 4: We would definitely like if you know, did you get
- 1:47:02Speaker 4: you'd get done with your last class, you go over, Yeah.
- 1:47:06Speaker 10: Maybe not wait to Paul.
- 1:47:08Speaker 8: Paul wants a game, So here's another one. Thank you,
- 1:47:11Speaker 8: Alex says Paul totally crushed the first one that I had,
- 1:47:15Speaker 8: and this one is all geared toward the eighties and
- 1:47:18Speaker 8: nineties players.
- 1:47:19Speaker 3: Oh boy, he'll crush these two nineties.
- 1:47:22Speaker 4: Is going to be time.
- 1:47:24Speaker 3: First player.
- 1:47:24Speaker 8: I wore number eighty four before it became synonymous with
- 1:47:28Speaker 8: another Patriots legend. I was one of the team's top
- 1:47:32Speaker 8: receivers during the early nineties. I caught the first touchdown
- 1:47:37Speaker 8: pass of Drew Bledsoe's coach Jefferson.
- 1:47:40Speaker 6: Jefferson, you don't know, se Jefferson.
- 1:47:42Speaker 3: No, no, he.
- 1:47:43Speaker 4: Was first touchdown passive that this is I'm just gonna
- 1:47:47Speaker 4: go on record.
- 1:47:48Speaker 10: This is wrong.
- 1:47:49Speaker 4: Like I says, number eighty four caught the first touchdown
- 1:47:52Speaker 4: pass of Drew Bledsoe's career, So it must Maybe it was.
- 1:47:54Speaker 10: A preseason game, is he?
- 1:47:55Speaker 4: Is he claiming I don't know because the first touchdown
- 1:47:58Speaker 4: pass with Drew Bledsoe was Benkoch, He.
- 1:48:01Speaker 3: Says, Vincent Brisbee Ultimate Brisbee.
- 1:48:03Speaker 10: Brisbee wore eighty two.
- 1:48:05Speaker 8: Yeah, So there you go, Alex, You're already wrong player two.
- 1:48:09Speaker 3: I was.
- 1:48:10Speaker 4: I mean, like earlier in his career, maybe he wore
- 1:48:12Speaker 4: eighty four and he changed to eighty two.
- 1:48:14Speaker 6: I checked this well, checked that too the whole time.
- 1:48:18Speaker 3: Player two.
- 1:48:18Speaker 8: I was a quarterback who started games for the Patriots
- 1:48:21Speaker 8: in the early nineties.
- 1:48:24Speaker 9: Tommy Hodson, Oh.
- 1:48:26Speaker 4: Am, I allowed to guess without being without being eliminated.
- 1:48:29Speaker 3: Oh you get eliminated.
- 1:48:30Speaker 4: Okay, then I'm gonna hold on.
- 1:48:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:48:32Speaker 8: I won just one game as a Patriots starter, just
- 1:48:35Speaker 8: one game.
- 1:48:37Speaker 10: I think you might have it.
- 1:48:38Speaker 8: No, it wasn't Tommy Hodson. I was later traded to
- 1:48:42Speaker 8: the Green Bay Packers, where I backed up Brett.
- 1:48:44Speaker 4: Favara Carlson Mill. He won more than one game.
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: Oh boy, another here.
- 1:48:52Speaker 4: Yeah, they went six and ten and won.
- 1:48:55Speaker 6: He went five and eight in the ninety.
- 1:48:56Speaker 8: Oh, come on, Alex, I didn't even know if I
- 1:48:59Speaker 8: want to do this. Third one, I was a defensive
- 1:49:02Speaker 8: player who has two stints with the players and with
- 1:49:05Speaker 8: the with the players, I think he meant the.
- 1:49:07Speaker 4: Patriots defensive player.
- 1:49:10Speaker 8: In this play and played in a Super Bowl. I
- 1:49:13Speaker 8: played for sixteen years and only made one Pro Bowl.
- 1:49:17Speaker 8: I had nine and a half sacks in seventy seven
- 1:49:19Speaker 8: before missing most of the next season.
- 1:49:23Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know if it's true.
- 1:49:27Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 1:49:29Speaker 4: Tony McGee, Julius Adams, Julius Adams was only on the Patriots.
- 1:49:35Speaker 3: Where are you getting your info, Alex?
- 1:49:39Speaker 4: I mean, come on, I think he's doing I think
- 1:49:42Speaker 4: he did it on purpose. Yeah, I think you did
- 1:49:45Speaker 4: it on purpose.
- 1:49:46Speaker 8: So you crushed this one too, because you saw you
- 1:49:49Speaker 8: didn't get any of them because they weren't any of them.
- 1:49:52Speaker 3: They were all wrong. Yeah, they were all wrong.
- 1:49:54Speaker 9: I thought, you know, I did the eighty five thing
- 1:49:56Speaker 9: last year.
- 1:49:57Speaker 6: Julius Adams was funny because I found like they did
- 1:49:59Speaker 6: like the whole thing of like pomp and circumstance.
- 1:50:02Speaker 9: Like this is it, this is the last game they like.
- 1:50:04Speaker 6: I think that since he game they won, last game here,
- 1:50:06Speaker 6: they had like a whole ceremony. And then he's like,
- 1:50:09Speaker 6: I'm playing a game. I'm gonna keep playing like he
- 1:50:11Speaker 6: just kept playing, uh all the way. Oh he came
- 1:50:14Speaker 6: back in eighty seven.
- 1:50:14Speaker 9: I guess played another year. Maybe he was hurting eighty.
- 1:50:17Speaker 4: Six, So maybe that's what he meant. Maybe that's what
- 1:50:22Speaker 4: he meant.
- 1:50:22Speaker 6: Yeah, but he was New England through and through.
- 1:50:25Speaker 4: Boy, And I thought when he said two stints with
- 1:50:29Speaker 4: the Patriots, that applied that he played for someone else.
- 1:50:31Speaker 10: But maybe that's not what he meant.
- 1:50:32Speaker 3: But that usually that's what that means.
- 1:50:34Speaker 4: But yeah, but I'm I'm going to allow that's not
- 1:50:35Speaker 4: a mistake, you know, So maybe he could.
- 1:50:38Speaker 10: I didn't know he played, did he was?
- 1:50:39Speaker 12: That?
- 1:50:40Speaker 4: Was he part of the strike? Did he come back
- 1:50:41Speaker 4: and break the strike or something? I thought eighty five
- 1:50:45Speaker 4: was his last game.
- 1:50:45Speaker 9: Ten games in eighty seven.
- 1:50:47Speaker 10: I thought eighty five was his last too much.
- 1:50:49Speaker 4: I mean, he didn't even that's part of the whole song.
- 1:50:51Speaker 4: Two ye seven is what a career super Bowl appearance
- 1:50:54Speaker 4: in his retirement year.
- 1:50:56Speaker 6: Right right right?
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:50:57Speaker 7: Eighty five?
- 1:50:58Speaker 4: I thought that was his last year, and then he
- 1:50:59Speaker 4: came back played in eighty seven. Okay, so I'm going
- 1:51:03Speaker 4: to say that.
- 1:51:05Speaker 8: All right, you got that one, right, Audrey writes in
- 1:51:07Speaker 8: Happy Wednesday to the Blue crew, Right, Fred, please fix
- 1:51:11Speaker 8: the TV monitors behind you? Yesterday it was the only
- 1:51:14Speaker 8: one behind Deuce now all three. A frequent bright white
- 1:51:17Speaker 8: line across like a refresh. Not good on the eyes.
- 1:51:20Speaker 8: I think that's by design, right.
- 1:51:22Speaker 4: I could take it off.
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: I don't care, but she was meant to be there, right, Yeah,
- 1:51:28Speaker 3: I just notice it. Yeah, I see it.
- 1:51:30Speaker 8: It's a white line that goes across where.
- 1:51:33Speaker 3: Yeah, you got away, hold on, hold on, there you
- 1:51:38Speaker 3: see it? Did you see it? Yeah? It's like a UFO.
- 1:51:42Speaker 10: I don't know, you're just changing screens. I get it.
- 1:51:45Speaker 9: It happens every eight seconds on the twenty second.
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: Matt, Matt being creative, Right, it.
- 1:51:49Speaker 4: Really was me being creative.
- 1:51:50Speaker 6: Job that job, Matt, change it.
- 1:51:54Speaker 3: I will take it off.
- 1:51:55Speaker 4: It was debated before answer.
- 1:51:56Speaker 8: So the off season question, what is one thing over
- 1:52:00Speaker 8: the remainder of the summer that you're looking forward to?
- 1:52:03Speaker 3: Something not sports related? Oh?
- 1:52:06Speaker 9: Yeah, Sunday, I'm going to be on the beach on
- 1:52:09Speaker 9: Cape Cod.
- 1:52:10Speaker 8: Well, I will have an announcement to make. I mentioned
- 1:52:14Speaker 8: it before as a thought, but it is coming to Fruition.
- 1:52:18Speaker 8: I'm going to be starting my own podcast. It's kind
- 1:52:22Speaker 8: of an.
- 1:52:23Speaker 3: Extension of this show.
- 1:52:24Speaker 8: But what it's more about the house I live in
- 1:52:28Speaker 8: and the history of Cape Cod and all that stuff.
