- 0:08SPEAKER_00: Like I mean, I've resigned myself to it.
- 0:10SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 0:10SPEAKER_01: This is what happens when you just put something out into the world consistently, it works.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: It's just peer pressure.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Hanan abuses me behind the scenes.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: I'm excited to be back.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Uh I mean, we're so bad.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: I know so periodic now.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Can I tell you something?
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: It's all Hanan's fault, guys.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: It is, it is my fault.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: Um, I you know, it's not just me.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: Like everybody's busy.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: Life is busy.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: Anyways, madana, I don't even like that topic.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: But okay.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: What made me what really pushed me is um one of the guys that I work with last week was like, what happened to the new episode?
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: You guys just don't care about your listeners.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: I've been waiting for a new episode.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, ah, you know who you are.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: But uh, anyways, yeah.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm glad some people wait for us.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: Me too.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, me too.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but listen, the I just don't want it to be like waiting for Godot.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Okay, I know.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: I don't understand the reference.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: Hallo's Mishmashkarab Mishradi.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, so what's been going on with you?
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: Nothing.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: You know, honestly, just like regular.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: It's I'm not gonna be like, oh my god, I've been so busy.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: Um, nothing.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: I'm working.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: I work for myself.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: What happens when you work for yourself is that you become like, I don't know, you're everything.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: Like I'm uh thank God you though I got an accountant.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: So that's been really helpful.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's good because that was like I was gonna cry if I had to do it.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: Guys, I'm terrible at math.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: If I had to do accounting too, I would have cried.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: Like I'm HR, and then I keep having for myself.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: I have to remind myself that like I need a break.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: No, I'm just kidding.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: It's been a lot of fun.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: And but yesterday I had this like, you know, when you you have like everybody has like, you know, some sort of like existential question, which becomes then it becomes an existential crisis.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: Because like last night I was sitting, and the problem is um, you know, whenever you have like a holiday in the middle of the week, yes, it like messes everything up because like I had the Sunday scaries twice this week.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: Once on Sunday night and once on Tuesday night.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: And so I was just like, okay, why am I doing this?
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: I should just go back and get another job somewhere.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: No, don't why am I working for myself?
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: I hate this, it's so much work.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: And then one of my friends was like, No, don't think about it.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: You're doing great, you're gonna be fine.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: No, because you know what?
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: Like, it's hard, and we haven't been able to meet up because you've been like busy, you know, setting up your it's a company.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: It's a company.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: So I did though yesterday, because I needed like a day to completely like decompress, I did do my nails.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's good.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Let me see.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Anytime that I have a that I have a oh, it's very like fall.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: It's like Thanksgiving.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: It's giving Thanksgiving day.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Okay, but like anytime in my life, like all throughout life, anytime that I've had like a problem where I feel like, oh my god, it's so overwhelming, I just go do my nails because I feel like it's something in my control.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: Otherwise, I'd be on drugs.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: And I don't think that that's an option.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: I feel like that might not be a good option, right?
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: No.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: So, but yeah, that's that's kind of what I've been doing.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: And you know, just like doing all the other aspects of life.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: What about you?
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't know.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: I feel like like I've been busy with work.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Obviously.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Um, but also like I just don't, I'm not in the mood to do anything.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: I feel like we say that every episode, you and I.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Oh my I'm not sure.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Like nothing.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm so like I'm not motivated to do anything.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: It's really bad.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: Do you think it's because the the It's because I'm in my 40s.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: Do you think it's because the nighttime is like 48 hours longer?
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: No, I'm just like, I'm so done with everything.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: I'm just like, I don't care enough.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: Yesterday I looked at the clock and I thought it was like 10, and it was only like 6:30.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: I don't want to do anything.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm here, like this is like the main event for my week.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Are you serious?
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: I'm just like, okay.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: No, I also I will say, like, I had like such a busy October.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: One of my one of my like BFFs got married.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: So I'm so excited.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you showed me pictures.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that was really lovely.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: So we had like a bunch of events, and then um I have you know a few family members in town visiting, just like things like this.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I feel you.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: I feel you that sometimes you're just like this is yeah, I'm just like, ah, whatever.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: But this is good that you, you're like, no, we're doing it this week.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: So I'm like, that's good.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: At least like I get off my.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: Because we have so much to talk about.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: Let's start with topic number one.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Okay, because we have a list of topics.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: The fucking government shutdown.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: What's the what's the purpose?
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Like, why did they why did why did the Democrats even go through all of this for over 40 days if they were gonna capitulate to the Republicans?
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: Like, what's the point?
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: What is the point?
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: Did everybody just need like an unpaid 40-day vacation?
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: Were they commiserating?
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: It's so gross.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: It's so gross.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: And um, this is the problem with the Democratic Party.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: There is no there is no opposition in this country.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: There is literally no opposition to oppose the people in power now.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: It's like, okay, we'll go along with it.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: And our freaking senator, one of our senators, voted for this shit.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: I saw that.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: You know, all I was thinking to myself is like, okay, um, if you are here's my thing, right?
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: Like, I understand, I understand what I I'm not talking about my opinion at this point.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: I'm just saying, like, let's look at it, assess the situation at this.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: I understand what the Republicans are trying to do, I understand what the Democrats are trying to do.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: If at the end we were all just gonna arrive at the same thing, why don't we just do that at the beginning?
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: No, why, why, why like why stop?
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Like, why, why, why, why mess up people's like bank accounts?
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: And savings.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: And they missed like two paychecks, and people started like, you know, people are two and a half.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Two and a half, sorry, two and a half paychecks, and then like people losing their snap benefits, and people working for free.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Yes, and then like the airlines, uh, the the how many flights, like 10% of flights were cancelled.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: I mean, was it this?
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: No, I think it's more than 10.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: I think it's more and they said it's only gonna go up.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, we're about to come into Thanksgiving, guys.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: That is like the travel season.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Like the time between Thanksgiving and New Year's is like such a busy time.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: At the airport, the Democrats are pathetic.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'm done with this, but you know, I had someone come because you know we had a we had an election, like we voted, okay.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: So I was cooking, it was like a Sunday.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: I was cooking in the kitchen, and like, you know the sharia.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh my god, it's gonna run.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: And I hear her knocking.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Is this now the international symbol for sharia?
- 6:06unknown: I don't know.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: So sharia or the thing vermicelli noodles, and sometimes you put them in soup and sometimes you put them in rice.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: I was gonna make rice, right?
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, shit, someone's not gonna, I'm like, okay, let me keep it on low.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: No, no, because that's how you burn your sharia.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: So I go, I open a door, and it's it's this um, this lino, what are they, what do they call them?
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Like they go to door-to-door Democratic Party.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: There's a word for them, I can't remember.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: So she's like, hi, we have you and Amjad as voting Democrats, and I'm like, uh-huh.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, yeah.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: And then I'm like, don't worry, we're vote, I'm voting for your candidate, but I'm gonna tell you something.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: I can't stand a single candidate of yours.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I can't stand a Democratic Party.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I'm sorry, I know you're just a messenger.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: And she's already laughing.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I can't stand this party.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: I'm like, the only reason I'm voting for you guys is because I don't want the other people in power.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, honestly, guys, like it's so frustrating and where we like here's what it is, right?
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: It's still reality.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't think you should ever not vote.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: So that don't take this as like, even if you're frustrated, like still vote.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: Even if you even if you write someone in, just go vote.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: No, I told her, I told her, I'm gonna vote.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Me and my husband aren't gonna vote.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: But I'm like, she's like, well, what are some of the issues?
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: I'm like, the issues?
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: I'm like, the genocide in Gaza?
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: Like, that's the main issue.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, and please, please, like, stand up, like have a backbone, have a backbone to these people.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: No, okay.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: And then she's like, okay, I will I will relay your message, but I went on this tirade.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: I'm like, do you want anything to drink?
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: You know what she did, right?
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: She texted her group of friends that are all doing the canvassers.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: That's what they are canvassers, yeah.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: She texted the other canvassers and she's like, this house number, uh, one, two, three, four, five, make sure you don't stop by.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: And even MJ drew my butt.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: He's like, ask her to drink something.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: He's like, You're being so like rude.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, Do you want to drink something like that?
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: That's why you got a garden snake in your basement.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Shut up, let's not talk about that.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, you guys, we have to talk to you about the garden snake in Lena's basement.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: Shifting gears, that's enough about the government shutdown.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: We all know it sucks ass.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: The political parties in this country suck ass.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: Nobody in power is good.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: Pol like politics is an ugly and dirty game.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: And at the end of the day, we are all nothing but pawns.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: So you know what?
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Live your best life and do what you want to do.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: On to the next topic.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: Why do no one that wasn't on my list of topics about it?
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Well, I want to talk about that.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Okay, talk about it.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: Guys, it's so great.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: It's so great.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: You can thank Raya for that.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: You can thank my daughter for that.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Lena was like, just today, Jelena's like, oh my god, you'll never believe what happened.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: We had a garden snake in our basement.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: I was like, ah, because I mean, garden snakes, you're screaming like this, and you weren't even there.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: You weren't even there.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: And garden snakes are harmless, just so that you know.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but like it was so like we were sitting there watching TV, we had the lights turned off.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: Okay, badly's on the computer in the background, we're in the basement, and Mina and I are watching TV.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: And Rai is like, you know, Rai wears glasses.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: She doesn't is that what is that movie?
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, what?
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: I'm like, no.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, oh my god, and then it's sudden, this this long thing starts moving.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: It's like right next to the prayer rug.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: And I I listen, I can kill a spider here and there.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: Like, not an actual, like, like a deadly spider, but I mean Lena's better than me.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: She did a lot more.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: I would have, I would have to grabbed my children and ran for my life.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: No, no, but snakes gross me out.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: They they I don't care how little they are, I don't care if they're not like dangerous or poisonous or whatever.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: They they just give me the uh I can't.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: Okay, so but I'm the only adult in the house.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: Okay, I have to be like, you know, you have to be a grown-up.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: Yes, and like my husband wasn't home, and um, and Rai's like, oh my god, it's a snake, it's a snake.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, okay, okay.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: I'm like, just stop.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: He's like, everybody, calm down.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I go and I get a bucket and I cover it up.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: And it's small, it's not like huge or anything.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: But you guys it's still Lena's telling me this story, and then I watched her daughter made a TikTok video about it.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: It's a whole like movie, but it was amazing because like you could see it.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: Lena puts the bucket down and then the snake goes and sticks his head out from underneath the bucket because you know it's on carpet, so there's still like space.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: It can push down and snakes.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: I guess I'll I'll put I'll put some of those the the video there.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, oh my god, that I posted it.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: It's just you have to put like little clips.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: It was so and then I mean cinematic.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: It comes out, it comes out from underneath the bucket, didn't do anything.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: So I had a Clorox thingy and I covered it, and like because I we called my husband.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: He's like, Don't kill it, don't curl it, it's harmless.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: I'm coming.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: I'm like, come.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: He's like, Oh, just put it in a bag.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: I'm like, how?
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna touch it, you know.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: And he comes home, he comes down, he gets a bag of the an Amazon bag, yeah.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: He he puts it in the bag and then takes it outside.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: And he's like, Don't kill it, it's not nice, haram.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: I'm like, okay, fine.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: I'm like, at least I'm like, okay, that's a green flag from my husband.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: But he's always like, don't kill it, haram.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: So we take it out, and then it gets like, you know how the the um the Amazon bag has that like little that seal.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: So haram, it got stuck on there.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: So he went back outside, took it off, and then just like I mean, I I think it's wonderful.
- 10:45SPEAKER_01: But like I do think, I do think like when you guys see the little clips, it's just great because her daughter literally made a cinematic masterpiece.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she did.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: About about the life of the snake.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she did.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: And then people were commenting, oh, kill it.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, no.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: You have action in your life.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: I don't want that kind of action.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: I don't.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: I don't I think it's pretty great.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: Okay, guys.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: So I have one other thing I want to talk about now that we're done talking about snakes.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Um, I just I love all of the people who watch our shorts on like our reels on Instagram, our shorts on YouTube, that people that follow us on TikTok.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: I think it's you guys are really sweet.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I just need to say one thing.
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: We are not an Arabic language teaching channel.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: Did you see a comment or something?
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: There's always comments like like I'm learning Arabic.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: This is so useful.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Thank you guys.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, you're welcome, but like that's not the that's not the goal.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: But that video is popping up again.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay, so that's why we're getting more comments.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: For some reason, it it's a lot of fun.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: But it was it's just I think it's so funny because I'm like, what about the channel like like gives vibes that like we're here to teach you Arabic?
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: Okay, because those are those those are the videos that really hit off.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: Which is like there's this is fine.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: I just think it's funny.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: I feel bad for the people that are coming to the channel for that because they're not gonna get what they want.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: I can barely speak Arabic, guys.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: Just like you know, whatever.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: Um, but I think there's a few of them, there's a few phrases that people have shared, yeah, that I think we should do it.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: Not words, but phrases that are really funny, like I want to do like a whole like, but we'll do that later.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I mean we're not, we don't teach Arabi.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I thought that was really funny.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: It was just like, oh, haram, anybody that's coming to the channel telling Arabi.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: You're yeah, it's you're wrong place.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: Okay, so did you know uh-huh that uh dictionary.com named the slang term 67.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: 67, it's 2025 word of the year.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: Oh, wow, yeah.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: They it in the statement they said perhaps the most defining feature of 67 is that it's impossible to define, it's meaningless, ubiquitous, and nonsensical.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, in other words, it has all the harm harm uh hallmarks of brain rot.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: Do you know what it means?
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: No, it means like so so.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, I I mean maybe this, maybe that.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: It doesn't really this, it doesn't really have a meaning.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: I don't think it doesn't.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Can I tell you?
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: There's like I saw two costumes, two of like two friends that I have, uh, their kids went as six seven.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: Like six, you know.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: So that was that was one.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: And I think the fact that it's been made into like a song, and I don't I don't understand.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: I don't get the phenomenon, but also I think I think it's because of old kids.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: No, I think kids this age just do it to piss us off.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: I think so too.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: Because I feel like our slang made sense, right?
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't know.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: I just think like when you tell when you talk to somebody, be like, mm-hmm, she's turning tricks, but I know exactly what that means.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: But I think it's Jen Alpha, not our kids, not not like our older kids.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Like my kids and your older son, they don't really use this.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: No, it's the little kids.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: Okay, it's the little ones, you know, that are just like freaking out about it.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, okay.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: So did you hear, I have another thing.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: Did you hear about uh date date them till you hate them phenomena?
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: No, but I think it's a good idea.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 13:50unknown: Yeah.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: Okay, all right.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: So I haven't heard about it, but if it's something that's happening, I support it.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: I then okay.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Let me let me tell you the the background to this.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: If I if I I mean, if I'm okay, so I don't know what you're talking about, but I feel like I might be able to explain it.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: Tell me if I'm wrong.
- 14:05SPEAKER_01: Okay, go ahead.
- 14:05SPEAKER_01: So is it like when you you date somebody, you date somebody, date somebody, and do you discover everything about them, right?
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: Like you actually end up being like, okay, uh, no, I I don't want this anymore.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: No, okay, well, maybe I'm wrong.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: Tell me.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: So it's it's you're almost there.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: Okay, so this is this viral breakup theory is attributed to TikToker Magneal, okay, who shared the secret to how she managed to get out of a four-year relationship with minimal heartbreak.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: She says, I dated him until I hated him.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: Okay, so this is it's circulating around.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: So basically, you stay in this relationship until like everything they do like makes you so grossed out.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah, that's that's kind of like that.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: But like she talks about how, you know, if he was uh getting late-night text messages or he's going out or he's he's talking to this girl, like like what she's really emotionally hurt by it.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: And instead of saying something to him, she's letting it happen and she's not leaving yet because she wants to completely hate him.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: So when she does break up with him, she feels nothing.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: Like she, it's not gonna be like there's no like morning period for the relationship.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: There's no morning period, it's like yellow bite.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: If it works for you, like why not?
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: You know, you know, my you know, I don't think it's healthy.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, and it's and it's healthy.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: So basically, for the period.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: So she's a morning relationship, a morning, a morning period for the relationship.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: So she says you're gonna watch them disrespect you until you no longer want to associate with them anymore.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: So you're gonna you're gonna allow someone to say that.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: I feel like that might be, I'm gonna say I'm I feel like that might be really toxic for the person.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: Very toxic.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: Okay, and this is all just to avoid heartbreak, okay?
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: But like, you know, some dude, being single nowadays is so hard.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: It's better to be single and then just not be with anybody, honestly.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: But here's the thing, right?
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: Like, I and I and I think about this, I think about this often.
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: Like my single friends, you go out and you meet people and you talk to people, and sometimes you think you know people, and then it turns out you don't know them at all.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then there's all of these other, and then I think about like people from like our community, like you know, like the Arab American community or Egyptian American community or whatever.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: There's like additional tiers of problems, right?
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: Because like you, I don't know.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: It's so dating is so hard.
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: And so to date and then to be with somebody until the end, what if they annoy me from the get-go?
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: But here's the thing I I don't, I don't think, like, imagine you're sitting there and then someone like your your spouse or your your significant other, whatever, boyfriend, girlfriend, they're like being disrespectful or rude.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: Like, am I supposed to just take that and not say anything about it?
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: Okay, I guess I don't, I don't, I don't understand.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Look, I'm gonna tell you something.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't understand why anybody would be okay with that.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: Is it because like you don't see and she said disrespect or whatever.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: She said text messages or talking to girls or any of that stuff.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: Just like, yeah, I mean, just like anything.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: Like it gets to the point, and like other people were commenting, it gets to the point for them where even the way they breathe starts pissing them off.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I guess it just yeah, I guess it just depends on like I don't know.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: There's like I don't think it's healthy.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: No, it can't be.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: I I think it's very toxic and also like I retract my earlier statement.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think it's a coping mechanism, maybe, but it's not healthy, like enough for me.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: Like, if I get upset, if I have a like, you know, we all we all argue with our with our spouses or boyfriends or whatever.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: What are you talking about?
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: No, come on, let's go.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: I'm just kidding, that was just but like if I if we get in a fight, my whole day is effed.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: Like I can't imagine.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: So I have a question.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: So, and and here's the thing, and I'm guessing like maybe it didn't go into that level of detail, right?
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: Like she said four years.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: She was with the channel.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: No, no, I know four years, but does she explain like the type of problems that they had?
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: I think she talks about how like it was like she was getting her, like if he's talking to a girl, like the jealousy aspect of it.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: Okay, so that's very different than when you have like a full-on brawl fight with your Yeah, but the problem is she said this, but all of the comments.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: But but I also think Alina, you and I have graduated into a different part of our relationship where where when you when we argue with our husbands now, it's like who's gonna survive?
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: Like that's what do you mean?
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: Like, like, you know, you you know that neither of us are going anywhere.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: That's true, right?
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: We're not going anywhere in this relationship, it's not gonna end.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so all of basically each one of us digs their heels in and we're gonna figure out who can last the longest.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but here's the thing like I would never allow myself to get disrespected.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: Okay, yeah, but I'm gonna tell you something.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: It depends, you were saying disrespected.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: Your understanding of what that is or your the way you process whatever disrespect your definition of disrespect may not be the same for someone else.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: That's generic.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: And so for you, if your husband is like, like, I don't know, maybe, maybe, and think about it like this.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: You're it's not like your husband when you're arguing is calling you names.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: No, of course not.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: Again, that's not even that's not even the I uh no, Lena and I have graduated into the part of the marriage where our arguments are like psychological warfare.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: No, no, but I think both of us tell me I'm not gonna be able to do it.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: No, even your psychological warfare, it really becomes like, you know what?
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: And you don't even have to say a word to you.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and and honestly, life goes on the same.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: You could just, you know.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but come on, tell me, tell me, let's be honest.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: Doesn't it bother you though?
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: Like the whole, like, like sometimes, like when you get Yeah, no, it bothers me and that's what I'm saying.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: I think how can you last all these?
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: No, there are other times though where you know, like think about it in the midst of an argument, somebody says Sabah al Khid and you're like Sabah Noor.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: Like there is, it is, it becomes psychological.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: I know, but I'm saying, like, in general, I think if you if there's an issue, you need to bring it up.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: Like, I can't imagine me having an issue and not talking about it.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: Like, I feel like again, I don't know, anyways.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't like to talk.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: Like, there's some things I'm just like, whatever.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: I look, I I see, I see, I see where you're coming from.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: Again, I I don't know if I retract my earlier statement.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: I don't think I agree with this.
- 19:45SPEAKER_01: At the same time, I still will say people can do whatever it is they want to do.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's healthy, and I don't think like the way that some of the comments were like, it's an empowerment, it's not empowerment.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: Like you're basically avoiding confrontation, and sometimes you have to have confrontation.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: And maybe that's okay for some people.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's in the long run.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: In the long run, it's not.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: I don't think it's not, but I I understand the avoiding confrontation.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: Some people really aren't comfortable with confrontation, and I get it.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, listen, some we've all done this.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: I mean, I've done this.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: There's some things, there's some battles I'm just not willing to deal with, and I get that, but like there's the difference between psychological marks.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, there's there's a difference between picking and choosing what is an issue for you that you need to, but you need to address stuff.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but it's funny because it's so true.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: At this stage in your marriage, yeah, we both know we're not going anywhere.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: It's just like, where is this?
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: Who's who and it's not about winning or losing.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: No, it's about where are we gonna land and how long is this gonna take?
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: Anyways, next topic.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't know.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: I just think um I I listen, just before we finish this topic, I think it's it's like, for example, we've talked about quiet quitting at work.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's okay.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: Okay, quiet quitting at work, because this is kind of like similar where you're just like, whatever, I'm not gonna like put in any effort in, but that's work.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: Okay, it's not like a personal relationship, and it's okay.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: Sometimes you have to be confrontational.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: It's okay to be confrontational, especially if you care about someone.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Yes, and uh yes, I I agree with you in that case when you care about somebody, but I I do think confrontation is hard for a lot of people.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Ah, I guess.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, I know I do, I do, especially like I'll I'll tell you something.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: I really do think confrontation is difficult for a lot of people.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: So I think with us, it's not we don't have a problem with confrontation.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: I think, like you said, at this point in our in our marriages, yeah, we we know which stuff to to I think at this point in our marriage, we're like, you know what?
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: Survival of the fittings.
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: Act like it's a war.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: Sometimes okay, psychological.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: Psychological war.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: Tell me I'm wrong though.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Tell me for all our peeps that have been married for as long as Lena has, I've been because I've been married for a long time.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: I've been married for 20 years.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: Lena's been married longer than I have been, right?
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: How many years?
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: 26.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: 26, yes.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: Lena was like 12 when she got married.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: I think as where we're at in our relationships, we pick what we want to actually be confrontational about.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: But I I do think, like I said, Confrontation is hard for people.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: I also think like look, here is in a in a lot of in a in a in a lot of situations, it becomes very difficult because when you confront somebody, right, you have this like you have this, I don't know, expectation of how they might respond or the fact that you're sharing your feelings or any of these things.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: Um, and then most of the time you're like disappointed.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: And that's why I'm saying, like, look, I under I I'm not sure that this is the healthiest way to do that.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: No, I don't think it I think it's at the same time.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: I I really do understand because honestly, dating now is hard.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: But I don't think I don't think dude, I'm gonna tell you something right now.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: So I was talking to one of my coworkers, right?
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: And she is on the market, and there is this other dude that like works not with us, but like in our like vicinity.
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: When I say coworkers, I mean people who work in the same space that I do, not for me or anything.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: I'm not that fancy yet.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: Um, and this guy, and it's not even about the way that he though it's not about his looks at all.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: It's his personality.
- 23:05SPEAKER_01: He is like annoying, he's a little crass.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: He's look, he's got a really good like.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: He's got it, he's he's he's in a he's in his career, he's doing well.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: But like nothing else to show for it, right?
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: Okay, nothing else to show for it.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: He was so upset and so like what's the word?
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: Not like not her, but like almost didn't believe when he he he tried to ask her out and she was like, no, like I'm good.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: I don't want to he was offended, offended.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: He was offended, he was offended that she said no.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: And then he completely switched like his treatment at work because he was offended that she said no, I'm not gonna date you.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: And so I'm thinking to myself, like, no wonder things like this exist.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: If this is the type of people you're dealing with in, you know, you're dealing within the world, like not to give too much, you know, like information about you know who they are, but it's just crazy to me.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: I think I think here's the thing.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: Um I think we both agree that it's not healthy in the long run to to use this approach, but I think also what men fail to understand, and they the men sometimes I don't want to generalize, but a lot of them don't see these signs.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: Like if a woman stops arguing with you, and if she stops, yeah, like like that's that's a red flag.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: You should you should take notice because the minute we give the minute we stop caring, I know it's over.
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: But I also think there's like I here's the thing, and I I agree with you.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: I don't want to generalize.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of great men in the world.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: I also think a lot of them are either taken or in the midst of ending a relationship, and so they won't be ready for quite some time.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: I don't know what it is, but like talking to my single friends, it's hard out there.
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: So I understand why this whole like thing exists or this behavior exists.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: My only concern is people shouldn't be afraid of confrontation.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying become I don't think you should be confrontational at every little thing.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: No, but there are some things you cannot.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: But they look, I think what Lena's trying to tell you is sometimes people deserve to get punched.
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: Go ahead and do it.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: No, you gotta fight, you gotta scream, you gotta yell, you gotta put your foot down.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: Agree.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, because if you don't do that, forget it.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: That's that's gonna define the rest of your relationship.
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: Agree.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: You know, and why do you waste time?
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: Even if a non-relationship, like I like say, like all I'm thinking to myself is like, if I was in the shoes of this person here after four years, I probably would have punched him in the teeth.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: Minimum.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: At minimum.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: I can't.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: But then my personality, there's no way in how.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: But then, like, do I really want to get like arrested for assault?
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: It doesn't even have to be assault.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: No, we can.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: I told you, we can fight with our spouses without even talking.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: We're advanced.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: We're advanced, we're at advanced level.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: Okay, what's next?
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: Okay, uh, next nothing.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: I mean, I have nothing else except that um there was like a high school, I don't want to say friend, because they were just from my high school on my Facebook.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: And this mofo had the audacity to freaking unfriend me.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: Okay, and why do people take that so personally?
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, I'm not taking it personally because I'm like, I should have unfriended his ass, but I was nice.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: I was like, maybe, maybe when I post my shit, maybe something will click in his head.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: Okay, and I'm like, I don't want to be that person that's gonna be an asshole, but like he's he's very like his views are just very like crazy.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: So because I challenged him on a couple of posts that he because I'm like, if you're on my Facebook and you're gonna post something stupid, be prepared.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: I'm not even on Facebook, but he would always get on there.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: So every time he'd post something stupid, you know what I get on Facebook for?
- 26:33SPEAKER_01: Like, it's really actually so it's for work.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: I use it for work.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: No, not even for work.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: So the two things I got on Facebook for is for like all the people in my life that have their birthdays posted.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: I wish them a happy birthday there.
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: And then to see when somebody died.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: No, but I'm I'm that's where people share information hard ever on Facebook, but when I come up, for some reason his shit would pop up.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: So I would respond.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: Like he would say some crazy, like fake news shit all the time, a conspiracy theory.
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: So, like, can I ask you a question?
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: Do you have regular conversation with this person?
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: Like over tax- No, I don't care that he unfended to you.
- 27:03SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, but I just think it's but I just think it's no, it's not about caring or not caring.
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: I think you're clearly offended that he unfended your first.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: No, because no, no, I'm not even offended.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: The thing is, like, it makes it it fits with the with the persona that he has, with the shit he's posting.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: Like, you're so afraid to hear another perspective that you don't even because I challenged him and I and like I wasn't even trying to make him look stupid, but I gave him the actual facts, yeah, and he didn't like that.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: So I'm like, okay, so you're that type of person, bye-bye.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: I don't give a shit that he's not friends with me.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: I just found it that it's just it's funny.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, you're lucky I even kept you on my friends list with the shit you're posting.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I wouldn't, I wouldn't.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: But like it's there's so like their their um their ego's so fragile that they can't even imagine someone correcting them in the comments.
- 27:45unknown: Okay.
- 27:46SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, sorry, I'm gonna bring up I had something that I needed to ask you.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: So that's what I'm that's what I'm bringing up now.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I wouldn't even think twice about it.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: No, I don't care.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: It's just I find it funny.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: Either um not you, him.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: Obviously.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: What is it that you're gonna talk about?
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna tell you.
- 28:01SPEAKER_01: Just give me one second.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: I'm pulling it up.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because I have one more thing I remembered.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: Okay, just uh you better hurry up.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: There's like dead air right now.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: People shouldn't be listening to dead air.
- 28:11SPEAKER_01: I mean, you can cut it out, isn't that kind of what you do?
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: No, I don't want to cut it out.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: All right, go ahead.
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: You do your job, and then I'll ask a question.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: So the other day there was this um I I don't think he's gonna watch the whole episode.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: He might watch us on like the clips.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: This coworker of mine, he's Egyptian, very nice guy.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: Is he?
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: Um he is haram, he's very sweet.
- 28:29SPEAKER_00: I mean he's uh he he's um he came to America a couple years ago.
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: And so like his he always tells me about his wife and kids and whatever.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: And then he's like, you know, I was telling my wife about you, and you know, she doesn't have a lot of friends.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and you know, what how about we hang out?
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: Me, you, her, and your husband.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: I'm like, inshallah, he's like, Yeah, pick a date and time.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, inshallah, lunch up.
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's thinking in my head, it's never gonna happen.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: I knew that was coming.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: It's never gonna happen.
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: I felt so bad because like I generally have no desire to make new friends.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: We already know this.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: I mean, I feel like so bad because he's so nice and he's so funny now.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: And I'm just like, do I really want to start this thing right now?
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 29:10SPEAKER_00: No, yes, no, what's wrong with that?
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: Just like I don't, I don't, I don't want to.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: I'm preparing my questions.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: Uh oh shit.
- 29:17SPEAKER_00: She has questions again.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: No, I don't want to, Henan.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: I'm preparing my questions.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: I don't know why.
- 29:21SPEAKER_00: They're just people.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: I just get to know them.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: I don't want to get to know anybody.
- 29:25SPEAKER_01: Okay, so you're just gonna be a hermit.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: Haram, he's so nice too.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: Like, I feel bad.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna start calling you Jane.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: Jane who?
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: Austin.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: Because you're a hermit.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: Whatever.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: I'm not a hermit.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: I just want to be left alone.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: Is that too hard?
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: And the garden snake.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: No, God forbid.
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: God forbid.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: What's wrong with the garden snake?
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: They are at the end of the day, guys.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: Like, I know it's harmless, but it's still a snake and it's really scary.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: I I I you know.
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: It is really scary.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: And then my daughter's like, oh my god, mama, I can't believe you just I'm like, what uh what do I have another choice?
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: I have to protect you guys.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: I have to protect you guys.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 29:59SPEAKER_01: No, you don't have to protect anybody.
- 30:00SPEAKER_01: You're so funny.
- 30:02SPEAKER_01: Where is it?
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: Is it really where where'd you put it?
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: In my Instagram.
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: In my saved, you know how like you save things in your Instagram?
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 30:11SPEAKER_01: So okay.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: Are these questions for me?
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: Yes, they are.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: All right, let's do it.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, let's do it.
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: So I have some questions to ask you, and you have to answer it truthfully and honestly.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 30:22SPEAKER_01: So there are two questions, right?
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: One's for you and one's for you about me.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 30:27SPEAKER_01: So question number one.
- 30:29SPEAKER_01: What is the weirdest thing that you've done in public?
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: The weirdest thing I've done in public?
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 30:39SPEAKER_00: This, this, I need to think about this.
- 30:43SPEAKER_00: The weirdest thing I've done.
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't know, pick a wedgie?
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 30:48SPEAKER_00: Like, what do you mean?
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: That's like the weirdest thing you've done in public.
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know, something weird you've done in public, or you're just like, man, I can't believe I did that outside my house.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't know.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: I'm not that person.
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: Did you wear things in public?
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: Okay, fine.
- 31:03SPEAKER_01: I I mean, you don't have anything that you're just like What are you?
- 31:05SPEAKER_00: What is the weirdest thing you did in public?
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: I don't know, but I'm just like, you know, sometimes you're just like, oh my god, I shouldn't have done this.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm like sometimes full on, I'll be like, you know, walking in the street or whatever.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: And then, like, you know, sometimes you're like your bra's digging into your side.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: So I'm walking like on a conversation fully, and I'm like this in the street, and then I realize I'm like, I'm outside.
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm not in my house.
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: What am I doing?
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: A wedge is the same way.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know, like you're fully engrossed in something.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: That's what I mean.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, you're fully- I'm at the point in my life where I don't give a shit about anything or what people think.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: Okay, I just don't care.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: As long as I'm not like picking my nose in public.
- 31:37SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, you know what I mean?
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: Like, as long as it's not, but yeah, but sometimes I catch my like that happened to me actually like a few days ago when I was walking outside.
- 31:46SPEAKER_01: And I had and I was just like this, and then I was like, I'm on the freaking sidewalk, like in a busy area.
- 31:52SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 31:52SPEAKER_00: I need to think, I'll think some more about that and see if I can remember anything else.
- 31:55SPEAKER_01: Okay, because I think I always think like we do things and we don't realize sometimes.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: Okay, second question.
- 32:00SPEAKER_01: Okay, if I had a meltdown in public, how would you handle it?
- 32:04SPEAKER_01: Like full-on meltdown.
- 32:05SPEAKER_00: I just let you have your meltdown.
- 32:07SPEAKER_00: I'd grab your hand.
- 32:08SPEAKER_00: I'm like, Hanan, let's go in the car, please.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: Habifti.
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: I love you.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: Let's go buy you some iced coffee.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: Let's, you know, what do you need, Hanan?
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: I decided to do it.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's okay.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: I'll let you have that meltdown.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we need to have a meltdown.
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: And this is why I love leaving.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: No, yeah.
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: It's okay, do you want to do that?
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna be like, oh my gosh, Hanan, stop it.
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: No, have your meltdown.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: Okay, everyone deserves to have a meltdown every once in a while.
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: Unfortunately, I feel like I can't have that because if I have a meltdown, the chalas.
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 32:37SPEAKER_00: I mean, I can have a meltdown with you.
- 32:39SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 32:39SPEAKER_01: Definitely.
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, that's true.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: And I think in our society in general, whether, you know, wherever you come from, uh, women, if they have a meltdown, they're looked at they're being crazy.
- 32:50SPEAKER_01: That's so true.
- 32:51SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 32:51SPEAKER_00: And then men, oh my god, he's just being a man.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: Which pisses me off.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: It's like we have we we put up with so much shit.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: That's and our tolerance level is so much.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: And then people get surprised when we finally have had it.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 33:04SPEAKER_01: And they're like, I cannot believe that she's behaving this way.
- 33:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, what do you mean?
- 33:09SPEAKER_00: Have that meltdown.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: As long as you're not hurting anybody, have that meltdown.
- 33:13SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 33:13SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 33:14SPEAKER_01: I appreciate that.
- 33:14SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 33:15SPEAKER_01: Um, okay.
- 33:16SPEAKER_01: If we got lost in a forest, you and I, right?
- 33:19SPEAKER_01: Which one of us would survive longer and why?
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: Definitely me.
- 33:24SPEAKER_01: Why do you say that?
- 33:25SPEAKER_01: I am the one that raised an Eagle Scout.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: What do you know about that?
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: Actually, you're right.
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: You're right.
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: Actually, I forgot about that.
- 33:30SPEAKER_00: Like, yes, I may not like, I may not like the outdoors, but let me tell you guys, I've had my fair share.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: I will have to, because I I don't I don't know these details.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: So you you went on that one.
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: You're right.
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: I don't think shits and giggles, guys.
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: Both of us would die on day one.
- 33:45unknown: That's not true.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: I'd survive like three to four days.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: No.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: Yes, no, you would not.
- 33:49SPEAKER_01: But you know, actually that we had to eat wildlife and be like, I'm out.
- 33:53SPEAKER_00: I'm done.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: That's so true.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: That's so true.
- 33:55SPEAKER_00: Or eating bugs, could you actually be like, done?
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna die.
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna die.
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: I'll make dua, I'll make my prayers.
- 34:01SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: Now, now I have a really fun question for you.
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: This one and then one more.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: If we had to like if you're so your name is Lena, my name is Hanan, right?
- 34:10SPEAKER_01: If your name could be anything else, what would you rename yourself?
- 34:15SPEAKER_00: I mean, I have two names already.
- 34:17SPEAKER_01: That doesn't count.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: Yes, Lena does have two names.
- 34:19SPEAKER_01: She goes by Lena and by Lena, and I'm not really quite sure why anybody would do that to themselves, but I didn't do that to myself.
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: I know, I know.
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: Her parents did that.
- 34:25SPEAKER_01: But that's it, that's the story time for next time.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: For another time.
- 34:28SPEAKER_01: But no, seriously, if you weren't like, so you are, yes, Lena, Lana, but if you like, you know how like growing up you're like, God, I wish I was so-and-so.
- 34:37SPEAKER_01: I never did.
- 34:38SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 34:38SPEAKER_01: I never, I I loved my name.
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: It's not about love or hate.
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: It's about like if you ever wanted to be named something else, what would you rename yourself to?
- 34:47SPEAKER_00: I have to think about what what would what would yours be?
- 34:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, it would be like, I I I mean, I don't know.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: It would be like lady something, oh, you know, princess something or another.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, you're giving yourself titles now.
- 34:58SPEAKER_00: I thought you said you just want to do names.
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: Like sometimes I really think about that.
- 35:04SPEAKER_01: You know, like there is this um, we were talking about I was I was watching this TikTok yesterday, and that's actually where that question came to mind from was this, you know, there the this woman is talking about how her her name is, I think it's like halimah or sadeya, or something like that.
- 35:20SPEAKER_01: Not really, but like something very, very, very Arabic.
- 35:23SPEAKER_01: And then her sister's name is Jennifer.
- 35:24SPEAKER_01: And she's like, I really like asked my mom and dad, like what happened, but they had like no good explanation.
- 35:29SPEAKER_00: So wait, she's like a halima and her sister's a Jennifer.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: Like a Jennifer?
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so after.
- 35:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and so it's just and it's I see that a lot where like one person has this name and then one person has a so like yeah, if you could rename yourself, right?
- 35:42SPEAKER_01: What name would you give yourself?
- 35:44SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: Like on the spot.
- 35:46SPEAKER_01: Like somebody's like, Alina, here's the paperwork right now.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: You have to change your name.
- 35:49SPEAKER_01: What's your name gonna be?
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: Damn, I don't know.
- 35:53SPEAKER_00: I the only thing that's popping up in my head right now is Sophia.
- 35:56SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's good.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: So Sophia, and I'm gonna be Anne.
- 36:00unknown: Ann, what the fuck is that?
- 36:02SPEAKER_01: I just wanted something really easy.
- 36:04SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 36:04SPEAKER_00: Sophia kept popping.
- 36:05SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 36:05SPEAKER_01: I mean, and Anne is like the end of Hanan, so it works.
- 36:08SPEAKER_00: You know, Anne.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: Or Elena.
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: Okay, or Elena, Elena's good.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: Elena's like your spy name.
- 36:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 36:13SPEAKER_01: I see that.
- 36:14SPEAKER_01: Elena's your spy name.
- 36:15SPEAKER_01: I love that for you.
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: I would be a horrible spy.
- 36:17SPEAKER_01: You would be a horrible spy.
- 36:18SPEAKER_01: We both would be horrible spies.
- 36:19SPEAKER_01: What are you talking about?
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: But it's but I I do love this.
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: Uh I do love that.
- 36:23SPEAKER_01: What's the other question?
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: Okay, last question.
- 36:25SPEAKER_01: Let me go back here.
- 36:26SPEAKER_01: Last one.
- 36:26SPEAKER_01: But that's pretty fun, though, right?
- 36:28SPEAKER_01: Like, isn't it funny when you have to think about hey, what's your name?
- 36:30SPEAKER_01: You know, you're like, uh, I'm not sure what my name is.
- 36:34SPEAKER_01: But okay, so do you want me to call you Sofia or Elena?
- 36:38SPEAKER_00: Too close.
- 36:38SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 36:39SPEAKER_01: Um, do you want me to call you Sofia or Elena?
- 36:41SPEAKER_00: Elena.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: Elena?
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: Okay, so you're Elena.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: That was actually, you know why?
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: I just remembered that was my Spanish in Spanish class.
- 36:47SPEAKER_00: We had to pick names.
- 36:47SPEAKER_00: I picked Elena.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: Why did they do that to us?
- 36:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't know.
- 36:51SPEAKER_01: And they're like, hey, by the way, this is gonna be your new name.
- 36:53SPEAKER_01: What do you mean it's gonna be my new name?
- 36:55SPEAKER_01: I'm good without a new name.
- 36:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, so yes, because I have to scroll through a lot of saved posts.
- 37:02SPEAKER_01: I saved recipes and all kinds of stuff or whatever.
- 37:04SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 37:05SPEAKER_01: It's like, okay.
- 37:08SPEAKER_01: So last question.
- 37:10SPEAKER_01: Okay, and this question, um, you know, is very important.
- 37:14SPEAKER_01: Okay, and it's not funny.
- 37:16SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, it's not funny.
- 37:18SPEAKER_01: You're gonna end on you're gonna be Debbie Downer and end it.
- 37:20SPEAKER_01: No, it's just, you know, it's not Downer, but it's like, okay, if someone asked you why you're friends with me, what would you say?
- 37:30SPEAKER_00: Why okay.
- 37:31SPEAKER_00: I mean, like, you're I hate to sound so cliche, but you are an amazing friend.
- 37:35SPEAKER_00: You're always there for me.
- 37:36SPEAKER_00: And you have always been for me in my highs and my lows.
- 37:41SPEAKER_01: That makes me feel so loved.
- 37:43SPEAKER_00: No, for real.
- 37:44SPEAKER_00: I mean, Hana, I called Hanan.
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: Remember when I called you when my daughter had lice in her hair and I didn't know what the fuck to do with myself?
- 37:50SPEAKER_00: Because I've never experienced that.
- 37:54SPEAKER_01: Because it's like, you guys have no idea.
- 37:56SPEAKER_01: Lena was, I've never seen in my in all of my years of.
- 38:00SPEAKER_01: I was having like an attack.
- 38:02SPEAKER_01: Lena was hysterical.
- 38:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 38:04SPEAKER_00: Hysterical as in like crying and and my sister, when I called her, she laughed at me.
- 38:09SPEAKER_00: She's like, she has three girls.
- 38:10SPEAKER_00: She's like, dude, they go to school.
- 38:12SPEAKER_00: This shit happens.
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, why is that a habitat?
- 38:15SPEAKER_01: And I'm just like, I just remember showing up at Lena.
- 38:17SPEAKER_01: I put a ton of oil in my hair.
- 38:19SPEAKER_01: And then, and obviously, Lena's husband thought this was amazing because he's bald.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: He didn't care.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 38:24SPEAKER_01: He doesn't care.
- 38:24SPEAKER_01: So, and Lena was so stressed because she's just like, What am I gonna do?
- 38:28SPEAKER_01: My daughter's gonna be bald, like, I can't do this.
- 38:31SPEAKER_00: No, it's like I felt like the whole house needed to be like lit in fire to just get rid of all this.
- 38:35SPEAKER_00: Okay, like I was my sister, by the way, when something like this happens, you guys both feel the same way.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: It's just like I get so grossed out.
- 38:41SPEAKER_01: She's always like, I'm gonna set the house on fire.
- 38:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and then my sister's like, dude, it's fine.
- 38:45SPEAKER_00: She was laughing at me.
- 38:46SPEAKER_00: She's like, It's because her hair is clean, it's not an indication of anything.
- 38:50SPEAKER_01: You know, Lena thought that people were gonna think that she No, it's not even that.
- 38:53SPEAKER_00: It's just like I felt so bad for her, and she was like, what, four?
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: Guys, for like four or five months after we made sure that Raya's hair had nothing, which is I'd make Hanan check my hair.
- 39:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she made me check her hair.
- 39:03SPEAKER_01: Like, literally, there were so many times we'd be in the parking lot and it's really sunny.
- 39:06SPEAKER_01: She's like, Can you just get it really quickly?
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: Take a look.
- 39:08SPEAKER_00: No, but I called her, she came, she got the stuff, and she sat there and she went through my daughter's.
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: Never forget what MJ said to me.
- 39:14SPEAKER_01: I walked in, I had like I all I did was like I put in my hair and I put a shower cap on because like obviously I didn't want lice, and Lena wanted to make sure that her hair is changed.
- 39:21SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 39:21SPEAKER_01: And I'm wearing gloves, you know, like the disposable gloves, and MJ goes, showfi, shoofy, hella doctor.
- 39:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, but then like when Raya started crying, yeah, he had to leave the house.
- 39:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's like, I can't see her crying.
- 39:35SPEAKER_01: Honestly, and it wasn't she wasn't crying because she was being hurt, I think it's because I was going through her hair with a fine-tooth colour.
- 39:43SPEAKER_01: And she was four.
- 39:44SPEAKER_01: And she was four.
- 39:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: So it was it was a lot, it was a very emotionally like taxing for her.
- 39:48SPEAKER_00: So no, no, Hana, you're you're you've always been there for me.
- 39:51unknown: Thank you.
- 39:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's why I'm not in the see, like when you get used to Hanan, having a friend like Hana who becomes a sister, it's like, why should I hang out with anybody else?
- 40:01SPEAKER_01: See, and this is the only time that I accept her being antisocial.
- 40:05SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 40:05SPEAKER_00: Like the bar is so high.
- 40:07SPEAKER_00: Like, I can't.
- 40:08SPEAKER_00: I can't.
- 40:09SPEAKER_00: That's very sweet.
- 40:10SPEAKER_00: Why are you friends with me though?
- 40:11SPEAKER_00: You know, honestly, Hanan's like you're just in a long list of friends, though.
- 40:15SPEAKER_01: No, that's not true.
- 40:16SPEAKER_01: I'm just joking.
- 40:17SPEAKER_01: There is nobody else in my life that is the polar opposite of me.
- 40:20SPEAKER_01: Lena's literally like we are polar opposites, like on the opposite sides of everything, everything.
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: Everything.
- 40:28SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think except like maybe like our political views, our good ones, and things like that were aligned, right?
- 40:34SPEAKER_01: Like morals, values, all that stuff.
- 40:36SPEAKER_01: But like in, but just literally the polar opposites of things.
- 40:40SPEAKER_01: And who is just willing to be like, yeah.
- 40:42SPEAKER_01: And also, I'm drama.
- 40:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, bitch, let's do this.
- 40:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she's always down.
- 40:47SPEAKER_01: If I tell her, like, let's do this, she's like except to go out after.
- 40:50SPEAKER_01: Um, she is not about that.
- 40:52SPEAKER_01: I'll do that occasionally.
- 40:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she's not about that.
- 40:54SPEAKER_01: But no, but honestly, it's um, I would say, yeah, it's like, I don't know.
- 40:58SPEAKER_01: It's look, it's very rare in life that you meet somebody and you have this like click.
- 41:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 41:04SPEAKER_01: And I don't even know, and it's not even a click, it's you meet somebody, and and it's not even about being drama or no drama.
- 41:10SPEAKER_01: It's just easy.
- 41:12SPEAKER_01: And that's really hard to find.
- 41:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like we don't.
- 41:15SPEAKER_00: I think we've always had good communication skills.
- 41:17SPEAKER_00: Like, we don't, like if someone's upset with well, I don't think we've even ever gone into an artist.
- 41:21SPEAKER_00: I mean, honestly, we have different differing opinions on things.
- 41:24SPEAKER_00: And obviously, you see that on the podcast and how it's making fun of you for it.
- 41:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we always find a way to like work around it to make sure that we're like aligned on you know, things in life or whatever.
- 41:33SPEAKER_01: But I think that the things that matter, we are aligned on 100%.
- 41:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I do think it's like I said, I think the most important thing and and and why I love being friends with Lena is that it's just easy.
- 41:43SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 41:44SPEAKER_01: And I I don't think it look, friendships, your friends are like your chosen family, right?
- 41:49SPEAKER_01: Um, the family you're born with and and wonderful, not wonderful, that's not our topic of discussion.
- 41:55SPEAKER_01: But family is not something you choose.
- 41:57SPEAKER_01: Your friends are something you choose, right?
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: So when you choose them, you want things to be like amazing.
- 42:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 42:03SPEAKER_01: And in my 25-year-plus friendship with Lena, it's never been not amazing.
- 42:08SPEAKER_01: So why would you ever want anything else?
- 42:10SPEAKER_01: And it's it's weird.
- 42:11SPEAKER_01: You reach this point with a friend in your life where you can, and Lena and I used to do this like ages ago.
- 42:18SPEAKER_01: We'd hang out, we wouldn't say anything.
- 42:20SPEAKER_01: Like I know she's having a bad day, she knows I'm having a bad day.
- 42:23SPEAKER_01: So you need to be in company, but I don't want to say anything.
- 42:26SPEAKER_00: So we just sit for like three hours quite a few days in silence, but it's okay.
- 42:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:31SPEAKER_01: And then sometimes, you know, after work, she'd come over and we'd watch Lost.
- 42:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: Remember when we remember that.
- 42:36SPEAKER_01: We'd watch Lost.
- 42:37SPEAKER_01: And that was okay too.
- 42:39SPEAKER_01: And you know, you you uh like, I don't know, it's very it's I feel like when you experience life, you know, together, and you have so many all of life's highs and all of life's lows, right?
- 42:52SPEAKER_01: And God knows we've been through so many highs and so many lows together.
- 42:55SPEAKER_01: Yes, you're bound by it's it's interesting, right?
- 42:59SPEAKER_01: You're bound by joy, by trauma, and by most importantly, like honestly above all, like like real solid love.
- 43:08SPEAKER_01: Like she knows that I'm never going anywhere.
- 43:11SPEAKER_01: Even if I go missing for like three weeks or something, when I say missing, I mean like I'm busy with life of all.
- 43:16SPEAKER_01: If she called me and said, I have this thing going on, I will just everything.
- 43:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like I don't, I will, you know, that's it.
- 43:23SPEAKER_01: You'll drop everything and you'll be there.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: And so why am I friends with you?
- 43:26SPEAKER_01: I'm friends with you because like halas, we're like bound.
- 43:29SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 43:29SPEAKER_01: We are bound.
- 43:30SPEAKER_01: We are like it's not even friends, it's not even the right word anymore.
- 43:33SPEAKER_01: We're family.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's it.
- 43:35SPEAKER_01: Even that's not the right word anymore.
- 43:37SPEAKER_01: I feel like that's it.
- 43:38SPEAKER_01: You just become like a this person is like a life partner.
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: They really, really, really become a life partner.
- 43:44SPEAKER_01: Because I do believe, like, yes, you have your spouse, but then you have this, you have your person, other person, right?
- 43:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that you're just you're bound my and yes, I'm very blessed in the sense that I have a large, like, you know, group of friends or whatever.
- 43:58SPEAKER_01: But at the same time, there are very specific, very specific few people that, you know, you have that bond with no matter how much space, time, everything.
- 44:09SPEAKER_01: That's like a con I don't know how to explain it.
- 44:11SPEAKER_01: It's like a constant.
- 44:12SPEAKER_01: No, for sure.
- 44:13SPEAKER_00: No, well, I'm I'm glad like we ended on a see on a positive.
- 44:17SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I do good things, sometimes she's nice to me.
- 44:19SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 44:20SPEAKER_00: Most of the time.
- 44:21SPEAKER_00: Oh, I think that's it.
- 44:22SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 44:23SPEAKER_00: And also, like, don't like please forgive us because you know, I know it's been very like periodic.
- 44:27SPEAKER_01: Guys, you love us, you know it.
- 44:28SPEAKER_01: Thank you for listening.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: We will see you next week, inshallah.
