- 1:47Speaker 4: Wrap, it comes into a great price.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Could fit in a big stocking.
- 1:52Speaker 5: Yep, yeap.
- 1:53Speaker 1: You could probably just do one of those gift bags.
- 1:55Speaker 1: That's how I like to do all my presents. There
- 1:57Speaker 1: you got no tape involved. You just put it in
- 1:59Speaker 1: some big mouse on top of it. Yeah, there you go,
- 2:02Speaker 1: and then just how lovely.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Great price, Seth, You're right you I see these lists
- 2:05Speaker 2: that are like best gifts for men under twenty five dollars,
- 2:09Speaker 2: best gifts for hunters. So we made it twenty five
- 2:11Speaker 2: dollars so we can make it on all those lists perfect.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I'm kidding.
- 2:15Speaker 6: I've no doubt but you will.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Now here's our zero percenter question of the week, which
- 2:19Speaker 2: I pulled from the board game You're honest. Please read
- 2:23Speaker 2: question for twenty for me and after you, after you
- 2:28Speaker 2: asked to have a channel, ask the question. Flip it
- 2:31Speaker 2: over to read the answer question for twenty.
- 2:35Speaker 5: I need my Hey, if you're older, you might want
- 2:38Speaker 5: to get yourself a set of readers for these cars.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Do we need to hand it off to Randel or
- 2:43Speaker 2: a list?
- 2:44Speaker 5: It is not a huge font what citr soda from
- 2:49Speaker 5: Coca Cola wrapped their cans in camouflage as part of
- 2:53Speaker 5: a hunting season promotion in twenty.
- 2:55Speaker 6: Fifteen, Mountain dew. That's a pepsi oh, I.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Was gonna go out and do as well.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Melo yellow is right? Alyssa go wo? I did?
- 3:08Speaker 6: Oh?
- 3:08Speaker 1: Okay, take a point.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Away from Melissa, give it to Christine now, Yanni, flip
- 3:13Speaker 2: over and read the answer and tell me what you
- 3:15Speaker 2: see below the.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Answer, uh mello yellow. Below that is a orange line,
- 3:21Speaker 5: which below that it says episode three eighty eight.
- 3:27Speaker 2: And to the that's right, it says zero percent. For
- 3:30Speaker 2: every question that was used in the show, We included
- 3:33Speaker 2: information on the back of the card that tells you
- 3:35Speaker 2: who sent the question, what episode it was on, and
- 3:38Speaker 2: what percent of players got it right. This will give
- 3:41Speaker 2: you and your friends a chance to compare how well
- 3:43Speaker 2: you did versus how well Steve Giannis Call and the
- 3:45Speaker 2: rest of the met Eater crew did. So any question
- 3:48Speaker 2: in the board game that was on the show is
- 3:50Speaker 2: going to have that information. Sometimes it's fifty seven five percent.
- 3:55Speaker 2: We have a few one hundred percenters in there, and
- 3:57Speaker 2: you'll know every zero percenter that comes up.
- 4:00Speaker 4: You should have an argument rating in there too, a.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Huge argument should I should the fire emoji? A spice
- 4:10Speaker 1: level Buffalo wild wings and you're getting the spicy tie
- 4:15Speaker 1: or the hot barbecue or whatever the flavor of the day.
- 4:18Speaker 2: There's no percentage that means that the question did not
- 4:21Speaker 2: come from an episode. That's a fresh question that's only
- 4:23Speaker 2: available in the board game.
- 4:25Speaker 1: That's a great question.
- 4:26Speaker 7: I've seen every one of these questions and answers, and
- 4:28Speaker 7: I'm sad that I couldn't remember that.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Yeah, Hunter Hunter had to upload as all eight hundred
- 4:33Speaker 2: questions for the board game. He already the answers.
- 4:37Speaker 5: I'm going to take a set to Latvian Wisconsin deer camp.
- 4:41Speaker 2: What do you guys normally play there?
- 4:43Speaker 5: We play a game called which is similar to a
- 4:48Speaker 5: game called sheeps Head, which not very popular.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I haven't heard of either one of those.
- 4:52Speaker 5: Yeah, you'd have to be Latvian, I think to hear
- 4:56Speaker 5: of Zola. But it's a trump trump, it's a taking
- 5:00Speaker 5: game with trumps.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Now you're going to have that plus media to trivia,
- 5:04Speaker 2: there'll be fun. For the housekeeping portion of today's show.
- 5:08Speaker 2: We're looking at the board game rules. Now, the board
- 5:11Speaker 2: game directions will be familiar if you're a listener, but
- 5:14Speaker 2: I also included house rules in there so that you
- 5:17Speaker 2: can add your own twist to each game. Randa, will
- 5:20Speaker 2: you explain to listeners what house rules are? Do you
- 5:23Speaker 2: have any?
- 5:23Speaker 1: Do you know you didn't prepare me for this.
- 5:25Speaker 2: I knew that you would know.
- 5:27Speaker 1: House rules are when you make up your own version
- 5:29Speaker 1: of the game. And so if someone's at your house
- 5:31Speaker 1: and they say, oh, that should count for a point,
- 5:33Speaker 1: you say, actually my rules here, that counts for nothing.
- 5:37Speaker 6: I win.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Yeah, if you like if you have red hair, right, yeah?
- 5:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 5:41Speaker 1: If you answer the question correctly and you have red hair,
- 5:43Speaker 1: then the automatically there's a multiplier.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Sure, do you know any house rules specifically that that
- 5:49Speaker 2: you've used, Phil, I feel like.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Maybe you'd have some house I don't play any games
- 5:53Speaker 4: no dogs in the podcast studio.
- 5:55Speaker 6: I think that's fine.
- 5:55Speaker 1: That's yeah, okay, that's like a real house rule, not
- 5:58Speaker 1: in the context of a game.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yeah, Like the most famous example I could think of
- 6:03Speaker 2: is in Monopoly. There's not a real rule about landing
- 6:06Speaker 2: on free parking and then collecting the money in the middle.
- 6:08Speaker 2: That's just like a very common house rule. Really, that's
- 6:11Speaker 2: not a real rule. That's just an example of a
- 6:13Speaker 2: house rules. Some of the things, what do.
- 6:16Speaker 1: You get the house rules? The house rules I'm most
- 6:18Speaker 1: familiar with, or when we're playing games that I don't
- 6:20Speaker 1: know the rules too, and Sydney explains to me what's
- 6:22Speaker 1: happening on the game. She does something, it takes away
- 6:25Speaker 1: my piece is you know, all that kind of stuff.
- 6:28Speaker 1: But yeah, I don't really know any like clue.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I've heard of versions where you have to leave the
- 6:32Speaker 2: room after you've entered it each time, so you can't
- 6:34Speaker 2: just like hang around in there. I think that's a
- 6:36Speaker 2: house rule. If you've ever played Cards against Humanity, are
- 6:39Speaker 2: you familiar with that game, how like everyone turns in
- 6:41Speaker 2: a card. House rule I've heard of is you pull
- 6:44Speaker 2: a random card from the deck and also put it
- 6:46Speaker 2: in there, and that's the ghost, and sometimes the ghost
- 6:48Speaker 2: will do better than the rest of the players. Those
- 6:50Speaker 2: are examples of house rules. Anyway. The directions for Meat
- 6:54Speaker 2: Eater Trivia includes seven options for house rules. I won't
- 6:57Speaker 2: explain them all, but they're called solo game, phone of friend, cheat, safety, answer, knockout, wager,
- 7:03Speaker 2: one tie, all tie, and loser pays. Today we're actually
- 7:06Speaker 2: going to play with one of those house rules, and
- 7:09Speaker 2: I've selected wager for this game. Here's what that means.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Players will write down a number next to their answer
- 7:16Speaker 2: that's between zero and three. The number will either be
- 7:19Speaker 2: added or subtracted from their score based on if they
- 7:22Speaker 2: get the question right or wrong. Really confident in an answer,
- 7:26Speaker 2: bet three points, don't have a shot, wager nothing at all,
- 7:30Speaker 2: and yes, your score can go into negatives.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Phil, you agreed to this.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Well, anyway, you're going to keep your own scores.
- 7:40Speaker 4: I'm going to try to also keep.
- 7:43Speaker 2: This will also be on YouTube, so if you cheat,
- 7:45Speaker 2: we'll find out about and then we'll shame you later.
- 7:47Speaker 2: So keep a good, honest score on your whiteboard. Here's
- 7:51Speaker 2: the other twist. On question ten, our players will then
- 7:53Speaker 2: make a wager using their cumulative score. Whoever has the
- 7:57Speaker 2: most points after the final question will declared the winner.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Does everyone understand what we're gonna do.
- 8:02Speaker 4: It's kind of like sitting down with a couple of
- 8:04Speaker 4: cocktails with the family and you're like, yeah, we're gonna
- 8:07Speaker 4: play a game, and then halfway through the rules, I'm like, God,
- 8:09Speaker 4: I wish I wasn't playing a game.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Here's what you need to understand. Cal right down zero
- 8:13Speaker 2: or three based on how confident you are, and then
- 8:16Speaker 2: you win.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Okay, cool, Okay, that's a way better way of excer
- 8:20Speaker 4: every question.
- 8:21Speaker 2: For every question, the first nine, you'll bet between zero
- 8:24Speaker 2: and three. The tenth question, you can bet if you
- 8:27Speaker 2: have fifteen points at that point, you can bet all fifteen.
- 8:30Speaker 2: You can bet zero.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Whatever has the Shelby index at twenty one.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Well, you know, I think it's a way I have
- 8:36Speaker 2: a Shelby index, but it's not based on that because
- 8:39Speaker 2: I think you guys will adjust your wagers based on
- 8:41Speaker 2: how close you are to someone else, if you need
- 8:43Speaker 2: to catch up, if you need to play it safe.
- 8:46Speaker 2: However that goes, so I could see us ending up
- 8:48Speaker 2: where the winner has now beta testing. It is beta testing.
- 8:52Speaker 2: This is the fun thing about house rules. You can
- 8:54Speaker 2: do whatever you want. So this is what we're trying today.
- 8:56Speaker 2: This is going to be the house rule for this
- 8:58Speaker 2: day in the media podcast Studio.
- 9:01Speaker 3: I'm glad we're doing this on an episode where Steve
- 9:03Speaker 3: is not present. I don't think a three hour episode.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Now here's another note about the game. The board game
- 9:11Speaker 2: is eight hundred questions that are a combination of questions
- 9:13Speaker 2: from the show and questions that are brand new. When
- 9:16Speaker 2: I had to turn these into our fact checker, I
- 9:18Speaker 2: actually gave her eight hundred and fifty questions, assuming that
- 9:21Speaker 2: some of them wouldn't pass her inspection. That's what happened.
- 9:24Speaker 2: She threw out forty questions, leaving me with ten extra questions. Today,
- 9:28Speaker 2: I'm using those ten questions for this episode. These are
- 9:31Speaker 2: ten questions that were made for the board game but
- 9:34Speaker 2: didn't make it into the board games. This is like
- 9:36Speaker 2: the B Squad kind of and that's where you're going
- 9:39Speaker 2: to hear today instead of just ten that I came
- 9:42Speaker 2: up out of nowhere. These questions for some.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Of these will want to have like a wrong answer.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Well, then so they passed. They passed the fact checking,
- 9:50Speaker 2: They passed that part of it. But they were the
- 9:51Speaker 2: ten questions out of eight hundred that I cut from
- 9:54Speaker 2: the board game. So you know, there's no loose for
- 9:57Speaker 2: me here. If you're like, hey, this is a stupid question,
- 9:58Speaker 2: I'd be like, yeah, and that's why I'm in the
- 10:00Speaker 2: board game. So you love it, feel free to argue.
- 10:03Speaker 2: It'll be just fine.
- 10:04Speaker 6: Now.
- 10:04Speaker 2: The Shelby Index fort today's round is a four, so
- 10:06Speaker 2: our winner should get eight correct answers, and with that
- 10:09Speaker 2: we're onto the game of trivia. Play the drop, Phil, Look,
- 10:15Speaker 2: I need to know what I stand.
- 10:18Speaker 4: There are so many numbers in the lead up to this.
- 10:21Speaker 1: I really should eat I should have eaten something before this.
- 10:30Speaker 3: One.
- 10:30Speaker 2: You don't get those points, you don't lose them, damn.
- 10:34Speaker 2: So you got it. Place your weight.
- 10:36Speaker 5: You have to wager at least one.
- 10:38Speaker 2: No, you could wag your zero. If you know you're
- 10:40Speaker 2: not going to get it right, you want to play
- 10:42Speaker 2: it safe, you could wage zero. Again, these are house rules.
- 10:44Speaker 2: So if we find that this is really dumb, Yannie,
- 10:47Speaker 2: then people at home be like, no, you have to
- 10:48Speaker 2: bet between one and three or one in five, whatever
- 10:50Speaker 2: it is today, we're going zero to three is the scale.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Question one, the topic is outdoors and as always, this
- 10:58Speaker 2: will be multiple choice. Which of these social media accounts
- 11:02Speaker 2: has the most Instagram followers? Is it Smokey Bear, Bass
- 11:07Speaker 2: Pro Shops, Cam Haynes or National Park Service? Which of
- 11:14Speaker 2: these social media accounts has the most Instagram followers Smokey Bear,
- 11:20Speaker 2: Bass Pro Shops, Cam Haynes, National Park Service? And remember,
- 11:25Speaker 2: you need to wager between zero and three. If you
- 11:29Speaker 2: were to wager three and get that wrong, then you're
- 11:31Speaker 2: at negative three. If we get to question ten and
- 11:36Speaker 2: your scores and the negatives will treat it like Jeopardy
- 11:38Speaker 2: and you are eliminated from Final Jeopardy or question ten,
- 11:42Speaker 2: So tread lightly. Here's the question again, Which of these
- 11:47Speaker 2: social media accounts has the most Instagram followers? Smokey Bear,
- 11:51Speaker 2: Bass Pro Shops, Cam Haynes, National Park Service. And I
- 11:53Speaker 2: hope our listeners are also coming up with their and
- 11:56Speaker 2: coming up with the number in their head for what
- 11:58Speaker 2: their wager would be. To see how you stack up
- 12:01Speaker 2: against the room. Does everybody have an answer changing? Are
- 12:06Speaker 2: you changing your wager? Changing your answer?
- 12:08Speaker 4: I'm gonna okay.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I would assume nobody is going zero right off the bat,
- 12:15Speaker 2: but we will see. Is everybody ready, Christine, are we
- 12:22Speaker 2: deciding on wager answer answer? Go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 12:27Speaker 2: We have Set wagering one and saying Cam Haynes, cal
- 12:31Speaker 2: wagering one and saying National Park Service, Hunter wagering three
- 12:36Speaker 2: and saying National Park Service, Christine wagering one and saying
- 12:40Speaker 2: National Park Service, Alyssa wagering one, saying Bass Pro Shops,
- 12:44Speaker 2: Giannis saying Cam Haynes wagering three, Randall wagering two and
- 12:50Speaker 2: saying National Park Service. The correct answer is the National
- 12:55Speaker 2: Park Service. About half of our players, So I get one,
- 13:00Speaker 2: You have minus one.
- 13:02Speaker 4: If you nice to get a scoreboard up the nicely play.
- 13:05Speaker 8: This is actually I can I can do this, but
- 13:06Speaker 8: you okay, Phil, Phil can do it.
- 13:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I'd say keep your own score anyway, but we'll also
- 13:11Speaker 2: crosscheck with what Phil has to say. The National Park
- 13:14Speaker 2: Service has five point three million followers on Instagram. That's
- 13:18Speaker 2: followed by Cam Haynes at one point five million, Fast
- 13:21Speaker 2: Pro Shops at one point three million, and Smokey Bear
- 13:25Speaker 2: at seventy nine thousand. Smokey's bio is quote remember hashtag
- 13:29Speaker 2: only you can prevent wildfires.
- 13:32Speaker 4: I like Cam always been a good dude to b
- 13:37Speaker 4: s with, but it makes me feel a lot better
- 13:40Speaker 4: about people in general that the National Park Service has
- 13:43Speaker 4: more followers four times is many followers as Cam.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Question two. The topic is cooking. This is our listener
- 13:50Speaker 2: question of the week, which was won by Steve Sargent
- 13:53Speaker 2: for sending this great question. Steve is going to get
- 13:55Speaker 2: a board game signed by the Meat Eater crew. If
- 13:57Speaker 2: you want a chance to win our listener question of
- 13:59Speaker 2: the week, then send your question to Trivia at the
- 14:01Speaker 2: meat eater dot com. The topic is cooking. Merriam Webster
- 14:06Speaker 2: defines this French word as quote small particles of brown
- 14:10Speaker 2: food that adhere to the bottom of a cooking pan
- 14:13Speaker 2: and are used especially in making sauces. Again, the topic
- 14:19Speaker 2: is cooking. Going to remind our players to put a
- 14:22Speaker 2: wager next to their score.
- 14:25Speaker 4: Here is your prompt.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Merriam Webster defines this French word as quote small particles
- 14:33Speaker 2: of brown food that adhere to the bottom of a
- 14:36Speaker 2: cooking pan and are used especially in making sauces.
- 14:42Speaker 6: This is Joanni.
- 14:43Speaker 5: Those three long hot years of the Tuscaniny kitchen come
- 14:47Speaker 5: in handy.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Okay, that that gave you this answer? You think Johnny
- 14:52Speaker 2: knows this? The rest of our room kind of confident? Randall,
- 14:57Speaker 2: do you have it right?
- 14:59Speaker 1: I don't have an answer yet. No, Okay, I can
- 15:00Speaker 1: think of an English word that I used to describe
- 15:02Speaker 1: this cal.
- 15:03Speaker 2: You look like you maybe have it right. Are you
- 15:05Speaker 2: confident in your answer?
- 15:07Speaker 4: I haven't even changed my wager.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Okay. I don't know what that means.
- 15:10Speaker 6: I think I might.
- 15:11Speaker 4: I might just roll with a one wager the whole
- 15:14Speaker 4: way through.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Okay, that's creative. Christine Alyssa, do you guys have this
- 15:19Speaker 2: one right? Here's a question one more time? Miriam Webster
- 15:23Speaker 2: defines this French word is quote small particles of brown
- 15:27Speaker 2: food that adhere to the bottom of a cooking pan
- 15:29Speaker 2: and are used especially in making sauces. Does everybody have
- 15:33Speaker 2: an answer and a wager? Hunter, go ahead and reveal
- 15:39Speaker 2: your answers. We have Seth saying fun, wagering one, Cal
- 15:44Speaker 2: saying glaze, wagering one. Hunter sang Roue wagering one. Christine
- 15:51Speaker 2: without an answer wagering zero. She went the safe way out.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Alissa saying roue wagering one, Giannis saying fun, wagering three
- 16:00Speaker 2: randall without an answer. In wagering zero, the correct answer
- 16:03Speaker 2: is fawn and that is spelled f O n D.
- 16:10Speaker 3: What do you got if I if I'm a minus
- 16:13Speaker 3: one and I wagered one, I'm at a zero?
- 16:16Speaker 2: Yet a zero? That's right.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Your way back to zero?
- 16:22Speaker 2: What happened there?
- 16:22Speaker 6: Set?
- 16:23Speaker 2: You were only a little confident. Actually, you were more
- 16:25Speaker 2: confident that you got that wrong than you were that
- 16:27Speaker 2: you got that right.
- 16:28Speaker 6: Yeah, because I was. I wasn't comming, okay.
- 16:30Speaker 2: But you got it right. Danielle Pruet talked about fawn
- 16:33Speaker 2: in her article called how to make the Perfect Steak Sauce.
- 16:36Speaker 2: She lays out six steps for this process, and fawn
- 16:39Speaker 2: is crucial in steps one through three. Step one is
- 16:42Speaker 2: the searing of your steak, Step two is adding flavor
- 16:45Speaker 2: to the pan, and step three is deglazing with liquid.
- 16:48Speaker 2: To get the full recipe, go read her article on
- 16:51Speaker 2: the meadeater dot com. Yanni, how did you guys pronounce
- 16:54Speaker 2: that word at your tusken?
- 16:55Speaker 5: Certainly with a D.
- 16:58Speaker 2: I saw it all over the website. Some people pronounce
- 17:01Speaker 2: it like full uh. Some people said.
- 17:03Speaker 4: Fond how why is it not defonding a pam mmm.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Talk to Merriam Webster. Count don't have an answer.
- 17:11Speaker 4: That's a good question, Yeah, because I defonded.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Maybe the glazes liquid maybe, and you're getting the fond
- 17:25Speaker 2: off the bottom, which Danielle in her article said that
- 17:28Speaker 2: Steve likes to call cracklings.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I was going to call it drippings.
- 17:32Speaker 4: Yeah, brown bits.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I was trying to think of glaze glad. I didn't.
- 17:35Speaker 6: Yeah, I didn't.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Randall is satisfied he didn't think of Cal's wrong answer.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Question three, I might wager two on that.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Topic is fishing Niagara falls empties into which great lake?
- 17:55Speaker 2: The topic is fishing Niagara falls empties into which great lake?
- 18:01Speaker 4: I know you're keeping your your own score, Randall?
- 18:03Speaker 8: That did you how much did you wager on that?
- 18:05Speaker 6: Zero? Okay, that's what I thought. Thanks? Zero?
- 18:07Speaker 1: Zero wager?
- 18:08Speaker 2: What a coward?
- 18:10Speaker 1: Ah, I think I played that quite well. Very pleased.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Niagara falls empties into which great lake? The room is
- 18:20Speaker 2: not very confident at all. I would be surprised if
- 18:23Speaker 2: we see any threes wagered here. I forgot, Randall. I'll
- 18:28Speaker 2: remind you.
- 18:31Speaker 6: The question.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Oh really, okay, Niagara falls empties into which great lake? Seth,
- 18:42Speaker 2: Do you have this one? Right?
- 18:44Speaker 6: Man? I should?
- 18:46Speaker 2: Okay, I should.
- 18:47Speaker 3: It's not too far from I'm changing things my neck
- 18:50Speaker 3: of the woods where I grew up.
- 18:51Speaker 2: You don't need to go into specifics, but how many
- 18:53Speaker 2: great lakes have you fished?
- 18:57Speaker 6: Like?
- 18:57Speaker 4: If you had, how many would you I'm fished any really,
- 19:03Speaker 4: I'm up on a couple of them.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I fished seven of eight.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Yeah, no, group fall's empties into which great lake? The
- 19:19Speaker 2: room is quite wishy washy on this one. Even those
- 19:23Speaker 2: who have come up with an answer don't seem confident.
- 19:27Speaker 9: Feel good about it, Yannie, not great because I can't
- 19:32Speaker 9: remember the last great lake, the eighth one, and.
- 19:38Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure that that could be the answer.
- 19:41Speaker 2: But are you gonna stick with wagering three? Oh yeah, okay,
- 19:47Speaker 2: you don't have to tell me what you're gonna wager.
- 19:49Speaker 2: That could inform what randall my wager? For example? Does
- 19:54Speaker 2: everybody have an answer and a wager?
- 19:56Speaker 5: Oh?
- 19:56Speaker 2: Wait?
- 19:56Speaker 8: Wait, wait, oh god?
- 20:00Speaker 2: Do you just remember there's a night.
- 20:02Speaker 1: No, No, I'm just I'm all screwed up in my head.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Yeah, run out of time?
- 20:07Speaker 1: All right, I got it.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Seth Wagering
- 20:12Speaker 2: one saying here on cal Wagering one saying Erie, Hunter

- 20:23Speaker 2: Wagering one saying superior, Jannis what saying Erie and Wagering three,
- 20:31Speaker 2: Randall Wagering three saying Ontario.
- 20:34Speaker 1: You're smiling as you say that. I think I got
- 20:36Speaker 1: it wrong.
- 20:36Speaker 2: The correct answer is Lake Ontario. Room did okay?
- 20:42Speaker 1: You're like you're grinning as you read my answer and
- 20:45Speaker 1: made me think that I'm.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Surprised to see you go a three. I think we
- 20:48Speaker 2: had Christine, Randall and Hunter. I'll get that right. Niagara
- 20:53Speaker 2: Falls is located on the thirty miles of Niagara River
- 20:56Speaker 2: that separates Lake Erie from Lake Ontario. It's supply is
- 21:00Speaker 2: Lake Ontario, with about eighty percent of its water. The
- 21:03Speaker 2: river is known for its great salmon, steelhead and walleye fishing,
- 21:07Speaker 2: as well as some opportunities for smallmouth bass, muskie, perch,
- 21:10Speaker 2: lake trout, and brown trout.
- 21:12Speaker 6: I matchine.
- 21:13Speaker 3: If someone won this trivia with a score of minus one, I.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Don't know what we will do that. I think I
- 21:18Speaker 2: win that shit. You're all in the negatives, and nobody
- 21:22Speaker 2: gets to play final jaf.
- 21:24Speaker 1: If you just hadn't answered any of these, you should
- 21:27Speaker 1: have gone to the from five minutes ago.
- 21:29Speaker 6: I should have got it off the water and just
- 21:31Speaker 6: call it quit.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Question four, the topic is mountain men. This next great
- 21:35Speaker 2: question comes to us via Matt Rogers. Which state college
- 21:39Speaker 2: has a mountaineer mascot who wears buckskins and coonskins and
- 21:43Speaker 2: carries a Kentucky long rifle. Randall didn't even need the
- 21:49Speaker 2: entire question.
- 21:50Speaker 1: No, I just read faster than you read aloud.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Which state college has a mountaineer mascot who wears buckskins
- 21:58Speaker 2: and coonskins and carries a Kentucky long rifle? Randall has
- 22:03Speaker 2: this one right, He's quite sure of it, and I'm
- 22:05Speaker 2: guessing he's wagered all three points.
- 22:08Speaker 9: Read that one more time.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Which state college has a mountaineer mascot who wears buckskins
- 22:14Speaker 2: and coonskins and carries a Kentucky long rifle.
- 22:19Speaker 4: I worked with this dude named Matt Goo jillion years
- 22:21Speaker 4: ago on the Long and Lonesome Road, And that dude
- 22:24Speaker 4: was from this town and was a like a pizza
- 22:28Speaker 4: delivery driver prior to working working with us, And uh,
- 22:33Speaker 4: he could pick up any instrument while we were on
- 22:36Speaker 4: the road and like make unbelievable music. Okay, crazy, So
- 22:41Speaker 4: you have this one apple Achier roots.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Oh there's a little hint for our players.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Is it son of a gun?
- 22:50Speaker 2: I saw some board. Alyssa has changed the trajectory of
- 22:55Speaker 2: her market.
- 22:56Speaker 1: That was pretty bad.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Cal, that was pretty bad.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Uh huh oh?
- 23:01Speaker 6: Really?
- 23:04Speaker 2: Does everybody have an answer? Are you going to change
- 23:08Speaker 2: your own answer now? Con you are?
- 23:11Speaker 1: We're looking for the state.
- 23:13Speaker 2: You need to tell me the state, to be clear.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Not the institution.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Which state college has a mountaineer mascot who wears buckskins
- 23:21Speaker 2: and coonskins and carries a Kentucky long rifle. Does everybody
- 23:25Speaker 2: have an answer? The state? Tell me the state?
- 23:28Speaker 6: No, you're done. I thought I thought you're looking for
- 23:32Speaker 6: you know what we.
- 23:33Speaker 4: Need to get?
- 23:36Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Seth wagering
- 23:39Speaker 2: one saying Tennessee, Cal wagering three saying West Virginia. Hunter
- 23:45Speaker 2: same thing, wagering three saying West Virginia, Christine wagering zero
- 23:50Speaker 2: saying Tennessee, Alyssa wagering three saying North Carolina, Yannis wagering
- 23:56Speaker 2: one saying Virginia, Randall Wagering three saying West Virginia. The
- 24:02Speaker 2: correct answer is West Virginia.
- 24:05Speaker 5: But Sef's not.
- 24:08Speaker 7: I was kind of in his you said Tennessee, right, Yeah,
- 24:10Speaker 7: because that's where my wife went to school. So yeah,
- 24:13Speaker 7: the volunteer, he's got a Kentucky long rifle, the coonskin.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's got a mountaineer, right, and I don't
- 24:19Speaker 2: know that he wears buckskins.
- 24:22Speaker 4: Well, what else do you have to say?
- 24:24Speaker 6: Hunter?
- 24:24Speaker 2: The West Virginia Mountaineers have had this mascot since nineteen
- 24:28Speaker 2: twenty seven. The buckskins are in the style of the
- 24:31Speaker 2: eighteen thirties and the Kentucky long rifle is in the
- 24:34Speaker 2: style of the seventeen hundreds. The mascot is always a
- 24:37Speaker 2: student who's chosen annually. Typically it's a bearded man, but
- 24:41Speaker 2: in the ninety year history, there have been three women
- 24:44Speaker 2: that were chosen as the official West Virginia Mountaineer. Question five,
- 24:50Speaker 2: the topic is wildlife. What animal represented the Progressive political
- 24:55Speaker 2: Party that was formed in nineteen twelve. This is question five.
- 25:01Speaker 2: We will get a scoreboard update from Phil after this.
- 25:05Speaker 2: The topic is wildlife for species? Yes or do you
- 25:10Speaker 2: want like the actual man, tell me, tell me the animal.
- 25:13Speaker 2: If you think the animal is a animal, a bullhead, catfish,
- 25:19Speaker 2: you'd say a bullhead. Here is the question again, what
- 25:22Speaker 2: animal represented the Progressive Political Party that was formed in
- 25:26Speaker 2: nineteen twelve? We have a confident randall pretty confidented? Need
- 25:34Speaker 2: a wager? Need your wager?
- 25:37Speaker 4: I'm double down.
- 25:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 25:43Speaker 1: So at the end, like question ten, we can wager.
- 25:47Speaker 2: If you have fifty that's right, you can wager fifteen
- 25:50Speaker 2: point differing though from final Jeopardy you can write down
- 25:53Speaker 2: your answer before you come up with your wager. We're
- 25:55Speaker 2: not going to make you wager based on the topic alone.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Still be some strategy involved.
- 26:01Speaker 4: You have very different and if you're in the negatives
- 26:04Speaker 4: you have minus one.
- 26:05Speaker 2: You just don't you just won't participate, just lose. You're out,
- 26:08Speaker 2: You get third place in jeopardy, you go home with
- 26:10Speaker 2: one thousand dollars.
- 26:11Speaker 5: Are those hides free for the taking if you need
- 26:14Speaker 5: one to make something?
- 26:15Speaker 6: I don't think so, But you got Steve.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I would have sold them already if that were okay?
- 26:21Speaker 2: Does everybody have an answer for what animal representative aggressive
- 26:23Speaker 2: political Party that was formed in nineteen twelve? Hunter, go
- 26:29Speaker 2: ahead and reveal your answers. We have set Wagering two
- 26:32Speaker 2: and saying elephant, Cal Wagering three saying bull moose, Hunter
- 26:36Speaker 2: Wagering zero saying beaver, Christine Wagering zero saying moose, Alyssa
- 26:42Speaker 2: Wagering zero saying donkey, You're honest, Wagering three saying moose,
- 26:47Speaker 2: Randall Wagering three saying moose. The correct answer is a
- 26:52Speaker 2: bull moose. If you just said moose, that's good enough.
- 26:55Speaker 2: The Progressive Party's unofficial name was the Bull Moose Party.
- 26:59Speaker 2: The party's nickname was derived from the characteristics of strength
- 27:03Speaker 2: and vigor, which are words that founder Teddy Roosevelt used
- 27:06Speaker 2: to describe himself. The party was formed in an attempt
- 27:09Speaker 2: to solve social and environmental problems brought on by rapid
- 27:13Speaker 2: urbanization and industrialization. Despite some calling it one of the
- 27:17Speaker 2: most successful third parties in American history, it only lasted
- 27:21Speaker 2: eight years.
- 27:24Speaker 6: Was this place?
- 27:25Speaker 4: Oh no, it was not place.
- 27:28Speaker 2: To cover up my sticker. It's a place so the
- 27:30Speaker 2: YouTube audience will see that and then want to go
- 27:32Speaker 2: buy it. Well, yeah, oh yeah. The sticker came from
- 27:40Speaker 2: Seth's wife's studio. Does she still sell those? Yeah, it's
- 27:44Speaker 2: my favorite sticker I have. That's why it's uh in
- 27:47Speaker 2: the center of my laptop. Teddy Roosevelt.
- 27:52Speaker 6: Fell.
- 27:52Speaker 2: We are halfway through the game of trivia. I'm excited
- 27:54Speaker 2: to hear what our scores are. I think there is
- 27:57Speaker 2: a wide range. What do you got?
- 28:00Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is right on I got.
- 28:02Speaker 8: I got distracted by a button during question too, so
- 28:04Speaker 8: let me know if I'm wrong. But we've got Alyssa
- 28:06Speaker 8: in last place with negative six, uh, Seth after that
- 28:10Speaker 8: with negative four, Yannis with negative one. But then we're
- 28:14Speaker 8: getting to the positives here. We got Christine with three,
- 28:18Speaker 8: Cow with five, Hunter with seven, and Randall in first
- 28:21Speaker 8: place with eleven points.
- 28:23Speaker 2: We have a disagreement.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Okay, what's the disagreement?
- 28:25Speaker 7: It was zero on the second question.
- 28:29Speaker 5: Yeah, Spencer misread it. What Spencer had I noticed that
- 28:34Speaker 5: what Hunter had wagered.
- 28:36Speaker 2: That's my fault zero.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Okay, So how many points do you have?
- 28:39Speaker 2: On?
- 28:39Speaker 4: Hey, the year the bull moose formed, That's when tr
- 28:44Speaker 4: did his campaign speech, got shot and continue to finished
- 28:47Speaker 4: the speech.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Said it takes a lot more than that to kill
- 28:50Speaker 2: a bull moose.
- 28:50Speaker 6: Yeah, that's right. Yeah.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Question six, the topic is cooking.
- 28:55Speaker 5: Grappy Amore.
- 29:01Speaker 4: I think it was like a little pocket, you know,
- 29:04Speaker 4: something like point.
- 29:05Speaker 6: Sometimes it does only take one.
- 29:07Speaker 2: And I think they said that he had a book
- 29:09Speaker 2: in his pocket that probably saved.
- 29:11Speaker 1: He had a copy of his UH speech.
- 29:13Speaker 2: I was it was such a long speech that was
- 29:15Speaker 2: folded over like four times. Maybe if he only folded
- 29:18Speaker 2: it twice, he wouldn't have made it. Question six, the
- 29:31Speaker 2: topic is cooking. This fast food chain, which was founded
- 29:35Speaker 2: in Wisconsin, adds Walleye to its menu during lenten season.
- 29:41Speaker 2: The room is stumped. This fast food chain, which was
- 29:46Speaker 2: founded in Wisconsin, adds Walleye to its menu during lenten season.
- 29:53Speaker 6: Well, I know one Midwest fast food chain.
- 29:57Speaker 2: You think that's the one? Can you recall while lie
- 30:00Speaker 2: being on there?
- 30:01Speaker 4: Not at all? But I do recall that it was
- 30:08Speaker 4: a favorite somebody in the room.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Okay, with somebody in the room. Okay. This fast which
- 30:18Speaker 2: was founded in Wisconsin, adds Walleye to its menu during
- 30:22Speaker 2: lenten season.
- 30:24Speaker 4: The room, I can't think of a Had that guy died,
- 30:27Speaker 4: we never would have got uh the river uh no return.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Teddy Roosevelt. I wrote about him getting shot in his
- 30:37Speaker 2: speech saving his life on the med Eater Dot com
- 30:40Speaker 2: The story is called Teddy Roosevelt's Fight Club. It talks
- 30:43Speaker 2: about that little bit of history.
- 30:45Speaker 6: Nice.
- 30:47Speaker 2: The room is not confident And this question is question six.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Topic is cooking. This fast food chain, which was founded
- 30:54Speaker 2: in Wisconsin, adds Walleye to its menu during Lenton season.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Does everybody have an answer?
- 30:59Speaker 4: Only time we went out to Dougs, we went to
- 31:01Speaker 4: a fast food place that specialized in hot dogs. I
- 31:05Speaker 4: think about that place. Tell me more absolutely fantastic. What'd
- 31:09Speaker 4: you have some big ol' hot dog covered lots of
- 31:12Speaker 4: stuff that was great? Or twice everybody having here the farm?
- 31:17Speaker 6: Now?
- 31:19Speaker 2: Does everybody have an answer? And a wager? Oh shit,
- 31:25Speaker 2: oh oh Cal, we're waiting on you. Go ahead and
- 31:30Speaker 2: reveal your answers. We have seth wagering zero saying ARB's
- 31:35Speaker 2: Cal wagering three saying culvers, Hunter wagering two saying long
- 31:40Speaker 2: John Silver, Christine wagering one saying culvers, Alyssa wagering zero
- 31:46Speaker 2: saying long John Silvers, be Honest wagering three saying culvers,
- 31:51Speaker 2: Randall wagering zero saying long John Silvers. The correct answer
- 31:56Speaker 2: is culvers. A few folks got it right, Cal, Who's
- 31:59Speaker 2: face favorite places that in the room.
- 32:02Speaker 4: When you million years ago and you were working in Illinois,
- 32:05Speaker 4: you said you went to Culver's damn near every single
- 32:08Speaker 4: day and got uh cheese curds. I think I don't
- 32:13Speaker 4: think I might go on your way home.
- 32:15Speaker 2: I didn't have one on my way home. We did
- 32:17Speaker 2: have a Calvers in Illinois that's good to be called
- 32:21Speaker 2: by UCLID.
- 32:22Speaker 1: It was the first one that came to mind, but
- 32:24Speaker 1: I couldn't decide.
- 32:25Speaker 4: I'll tell you that our host spencer was a little
- 32:29Speaker 4: heftier them. It looks great now, Oh thank you, Yes, sir.
- 32:35Speaker 4: It was recently talking about eating some culvers.
- 32:38Speaker 2: And you got that one right, Yanni's have you had
- 32:41Speaker 2: culvers before? I have served walleye. The first Calvers opened
- 32:45Speaker 2: in Wisconsin in nineteen eighty four, and today there are
- 32:48Speaker 2: one thousand locations in twenty six states. They've been serving
- 32:52Speaker 2: walleye since twenty ten, and they source the fish from
- 32:55Speaker 2: lakes in Manitoba. They deep fry the walleye and serve
- 32:58Speaker 2: it as a dinner plate or sandwich. One food critic
- 33:01Speaker 2: in twenty twenty two gave it a two out of
- 33:04Speaker 2: five stars for aesthetics, but four point five stars for taste,
- 33:09Speaker 2: whiley at calvers question.
- 33:12Speaker 4: Seven totally meaningless unless we know who the food critic is, right.
- 33:17Speaker 2: The only one who's brave enough to review fast food
- 33:20Speaker 2: while I Question seven, the topic is woodsmanship. This next
- 33:23Speaker 2: great question comes to is via Christy Holmes. What two
- 33:27Speaker 2: animals are crossed to create a hinnie? Kinnie is spelled
- 33:32Speaker 2: hi n N why? Question seven topic is woodsmanship? What
- 33:40Speaker 2: two animals are crossed to create a hinnie? H I
- 33:45Speaker 2: n N why? Yanni is the only one to come
- 33:48Speaker 2: up with an answer so far. Yanni, do you think
- 33:51Speaker 2: you know this one?
- 33:54Speaker 6: No?
- 33:54Speaker 5: But I've got a good guess.
- 33:57Speaker 2: What two animals are crossed to create a hinni? Seth
- 34:02Speaker 2: has all but given up.
- 34:04Speaker 6: He has a.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Negative four on his board, has yet to pick up
- 34:08Speaker 2: his white boards. Sucks, Spencer, Well, how would you be
- 34:15Speaker 2: doing if we weren't wagering points? Seth?
- 34:19Speaker 6: Just a zero zero?
- 34:21Speaker 1: Okay?
- 34:23Speaker 2: What two animals are crossed to create a hinny? So
- 34:25Speaker 2: you should have two answers on your board plus your wager.
- 34:29Speaker 2: It's between zero and three? Randal, do you have any guess?
- 34:37Speaker 6: Randal looks like a deer in the headlights.
- 34:39Speaker 5: Randall wager three?
- 34:40Speaker 1: Well, yeah, it's see. The thing is, well, I wagered
- 34:45Speaker 1: zero on the last one. I'm gonna wager zero again
- 34:47Speaker 1: on this one, and it kind of takes the fun
- 34:49Speaker 1: out of it.
- 34:52Speaker 5: Yeah, I think it should have been mandatory, but one,
- 34:56Speaker 5: two or three on the wager.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out why this is woodsmanship?
- 35:02Speaker 2: Is everybody ready.
- 35:05Speaker 5: No answer?
- 35:08Speaker 6: Seth?
- 35:08Speaker 5: You're not going to even try.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Can't just come up with two animals?
- 35:12Speaker 3: The thing is, I saw I know where this gal
- 35:15Speaker 3: is from, which makes me think it's.
- 35:19Speaker 4: That's entirely what my answer is based off from that area.
- 35:22Speaker 6: But I can't even think of something from that area.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Would you read the question with the introduction that states
- 35:27Speaker 1: where the submission the.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Topic is woodsmanship? This next great question comes to is
- 35:31Speaker 2: via Christy Holmes, what two animals are crossed to create
- 35:35Speaker 2: a Hinnie? I did not reveal where she's from. But
- 35:38Speaker 2: Seth knows this person, which is here's He's given him
- 35:42Speaker 2: enough insight to not even come up with an answer woodsmanship.
- 35:46Speaker 4: But this name Hinny just reeks of domestic animal.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody, does everybody have an answer? No? Christine quietly
- 36:01Speaker 2: playing a great game over there, one of our only
- 36:04Speaker 2: players in the positive she's made smart wagers had some
- 36:08Speaker 2: correct answers. What are you wage during this time? Christine one?
- 36:13Speaker 5: How many points you got?
- 36:14Speaker 6: Christine four?
- 36:16Speaker 7: About to be five?
- 36:19Speaker 4: I'm not that company.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Everybody ready?
- 36:24Speaker 1: What are you doing?
- 36:25Speaker 4: Where the inspiration?
- 36:27Speaker 2: Right? Right?
- 36:28Speaker 6: Right right? Randall?
- 36:31Speaker 4: Did they?
- 36:31Speaker 2: Randall said, he's betting zero, but now he's all of
- 36:34Speaker 2: a sudden, uh, he's.
- 36:35Speaker 4: Drawing him out?
- 36:37Speaker 1: Are there alternates? Are they going to do zero?
- 36:40Speaker 4: Why does it matter what? You're right?
- 36:41Speaker 1: I'm trying to have fun.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Are you look like you're having a lot of spellings?
- 36:47Speaker 1: Is this is this a standard spelling? Are their alternate spellings.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Safe to say? The room is stumped? So everybody ready.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Everyone has two animals plus a wager. Go ahead and
- 37:04Speaker 2: reveal your answers. We have Seth saying a partridge in
- 37:07Speaker 2: a guinea He wagered zero. Cow wagering one saying a
- 37:12Speaker 2: hare and a cottontail Hunter wager saying a chicken and
- 37:17Speaker 2: a guinea fowl. Christine wagering one, saying a mule and
- 37:21Speaker 2: a horse. Alissa wagering zero, saying a horse and a
- 37:25Speaker 2: moose Yiannis wagering three saying turkey and chicken. Randall wagering zero,
- 37:31Speaker 2: saying a goat and a man, how to.
- 37:35Speaker 4: Do it in the main Woods.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Nobody got it. A few of you had half of
- 37:40Speaker 2: the correct answer. The correct answer is a horse and
- 37:43Speaker 2: a donkey, a.
- 37:46Speaker 4: Mule, jenny.
- 37:48Speaker 2: A mule is created by crossing a male donkey and
- 37:52Speaker 2: a female horse. A hinny is created by crossing a
- 37:56Speaker 2: male horse and a female donkey. I asked Clay why
- 37:59Speaker 2: he's never owned a hinney, and he told me it's
- 38:01Speaker 2: because they're much more rare. In fact, Clay said he
- 38:04Speaker 2: doesn't know a single person who owns a hinnie.
- 38:08Speaker 6: Well, that has nothing to do with the Main Woods.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Like I was thinking, Clay Newcombe does not know anyone
- 38:14Speaker 1: who owns one of these. I feel so much better
- 38:17Speaker 1: about not even knowing what it is.
- 38:18Speaker 2: And you wagered zero.
- 38:20Speaker 4: We have question eight and say this is how this
- 38:24Speaker 4: pertains to the big Maine Woods.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Well, nobody said I had anything to do with Maine.
- 38:28Speaker 2: That was seth projecting, thinking that she couldn't possibly comprehend
- 38:33Speaker 2: a question that went outside the borders of her state.
- 38:39Speaker 4: Have you ever been to Maine? They're very proud of me.
- 38:41Speaker 1: A lot of questions come from me.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Question eight the topic is hunting. What state has the
- 38:49Speaker 2: second largest population of pronghorn antelope? Is question eight? What
- 38:58Speaker 2: state has the second largest population of prong horn anelope?
- 39:02Speaker 2: Pat Dirkin once told me that Wisconsin is the capital
- 39:06Speaker 2: of having capitals. He said that they are very passionate
- 39:09Speaker 2: about being the biggest and baddest for all things, that
- 39:14Speaker 2: every little corner of the state is the world capital
- 39:18Speaker 2: of whatever. So he said, they're the capital of having capitals.
- 39:22Speaker 2: We're on question eight right now, what state has the
- 39:25Speaker 2: second largest population of prong horn antelope? We will get
- 39:33Speaker 2: a scoreboard update after this.
- 39:36Speaker 4: How many points you got? Randall?
- 39:38Speaker 1: Well, I want to know how many points hunter has?
- 39:41Speaker 2: Well, he wants to know how many points he honestly.
- 39:43Speaker 1: You have? I got seven right now, I've got eleven.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Think about answering, think about wagering zero again, I'm from.
- 39:51Speaker 3: Here on rules hasn't really been.
- 40:01Speaker 6: Yep.
- 40:03Speaker 4: So I mean that's within striking distance.
- 40:05Speaker 2: That's what i'm That's what I'm What state has the
- 40:08Speaker 2: second largest population of prong horn antelope? Does everybody have
- 40:11Speaker 2: an answer and a wager? Yes, go ahead and reveal
- 40:18Speaker 2: your answers. We have seth saying Montana wagering three, cal
- 40:22Speaker 2: wagering zero saying Montana, Hunter wagering one saying South Dakota,
- 40:28Speaker 2: Christine wagering one saying Montana, Alyssa wagering two saying Wyoming,
- 40:34Speaker 2: Giannis wagering three saying New Mexico, Randall wagering zero saying Nevada.
- 40:40Speaker 2: We have a correct answer in the room. It's Montana.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Seth Oh got it right. Wyoming has a commanding lead
- 40:51Speaker 2: on the rest of America, with about four hundred thousand
- 40:54Speaker 2: antelope within its borders. Montana is second at one hundred
- 40:57Speaker 2: and twenty five thousand, Colorado is third at sex seventy thousand,
- 41:00Speaker 2: and New Mexico and South Dakota share fourth place at
- 41:04Speaker 2: forty thousand. Fail We have two questions left. Give us
- 41:07Speaker 2: a scoreboard update.
- 41:09Speaker 8: Yeah, I've got it here. I'll just it's not gonna
- 41:11Speaker 8: be in order. I'll try to make it in order.
- 41:13Speaker 1: We've got some excitement, please stop it.
- 41:18Speaker 8: We have a listener with minus eight, negative eight, Yanni
- 41:22Speaker 8: has negative four, Seth has negative one. Then we've got
- 41:28Speaker 8: Hunter and Christine with four, col with seven, and Randall
- 41:32Speaker 8: with eleven.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Still question nine, the topic is conservation. This next great
- 41:38Speaker 2: question comes to his via Eli Blackburn, dusky grouse and
- 41:42Speaker 2: soodie grouse used to be considered one species. What was
- 41:46Speaker 2: that species called? Dusky grouse and soodie grouse used to
- 41:53Speaker 2: be considered one species? What was that species called? This
- 41:58Speaker 2: is question nine. This is the last time that you
- 42:01Speaker 2: will have between zero and three to wager on question ten.
- 42:05Speaker 2: You can wager whatever you like up to your maximum points.
- 42:10Speaker 4: Son of a gun really really chickened out.
- 42:13Speaker 7: On the should have to wage zero.
- 42:17Speaker 1: That'd be a good house rule to incorporate next time.
- 42:21Speaker 2: Does everybody have an answer? Cal Do you have this
- 42:23Speaker 2: one right?
- 42:24Speaker 6: I believe?
- 42:26Speaker 2: So? Okay, Randall, do you have this one right?
- 42:28Speaker 1: It doesn't really matter.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Okay, he's wagering zero again? Sounds like right? Honest, I
- 42:36Speaker 2: had a wager, Hunter, do you have this one right?
- 42:39Speaker 4: I'd add a wager if I cannot believe, but I
- 42:44Speaker 4: didn't didn't wager anything on all Montange.
- 42:47Speaker 6: I think everyone negative should get to wager.
- 42:51Speaker 10: Oh yeah, So after this is the question question ten,
- 42:57Speaker 10: you're gonna have a max wager and you can come
- 42:59Speaker 10: up with your way once you know your answer.
- 43:02Speaker 2: It's everybody ready to reveal their answer here? Does everyone
- 43:05Speaker 2: have a wager?
- 43:06Speaker 4: You would be good as folks with negatives can like
- 43:10Speaker 4: throw negatives at other people's scores depending on how nice
- 43:14Speaker 4: they were to them.
- 43:15Speaker 1: These are the next time we play wager trivia.
- 43:19Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Seth wagering
- 43:23Speaker 2: three saying blue grouse, Cal saying blue grouse, and wagering three,
- 43:27Speaker 2: Hunter wagering zero saying soodie, Christine wagering zero saying grouse,
- 43:32Speaker 2: a list of wagering two saying rough grouse, Yiannis wagering
- 43:36Speaker 2: three saying blue. It's not gonna be enough to get
- 43:39Speaker 2: him out of the negatives, though, Randall wagering zero saying spruce.
- 43:43Speaker 2: The correct answer is blue grouse. Few of our players
- 43:47Speaker 2: got it right. The dusky and sooty grouse were first
- 43:50Speaker 2: identified as separate birds by Lewis and Clark in the
- 43:54Speaker 2: eighteen hundreds, then in the nineteen hundreds they were combined
- 43:57Speaker 2: into one species called the blue grouse. Then in two
- 44:00Speaker 2: thousand and six, ornithologists reverse that decision and went back
- 44:03Speaker 2: to identifying them as dusky and soodie grouse, just like
- 44:07Speaker 2: Lewis and Clark did. Question ten, Phil give us a
- 44:11Speaker 2: scoreboard update one more time.
- 44:12Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll.
- 44:15Speaker 4: I'll just do the positives. We've got Seth.
- 44:17Speaker 8: Seth got himself out, he's got two points, okay, and
- 44:20Speaker 8: then we have Hunter and Christine with four, Cow with ten,
- 44:25Speaker 8: and Randall with eleven.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Alyssa and Yanni do not get to participate. You can
- 44:30Speaker 2: participate if you can.
- 44:33Speaker 5: We still do zero through three, like we.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Have to do whatever you want. I don't think you can.
- 44:38Speaker 2: Sure you can wage?
- 44:40Speaker 5: I mean, what's different about this question?
- 44:42Speaker 4: Give give them thirteen.
- 44:44Speaker 2: The difference in this question is you get to wager
- 44:46Speaker 2: as much as you want. Here it is question ten.
- 44:49Speaker 2: The topic is fishing. This last great question comes to
- 44:52Speaker 2: us via Craig Bond.
- 44:53Speaker 4: What if you carry your points over to the next
- 44:56Speaker 4: time you play?
- 44:56Speaker 2: No ideas. Here's question ten. What eight letter word describes
- 45:05Speaker 2: the tapered region where a fish's tailfin is attached to
- 45:09Speaker 2: its body?
- 45:11Speaker 4: Oh shit, I know that he knows it.
- 45:16Speaker 2: He has not put it on his whiteboard yet. Give
- 45:20Speaker 2: us a reminder one more time of who is left
- 45:22Speaker 2: in the positives?
- 45:23Speaker 8: Phil Seth has two, Hunter and Christine have four, Cal
- 45:27Speaker 8: has ten, Randall has eleven.
- 45:29Speaker 2: They can wager as much as they like. A lot
- 45:31Speaker 2: of strategy and play here. Here's the question again, What
- 45:35Speaker 2: eight letter word describes the tapered region where a fish's
- 45:38Speaker 2: tailfin is attached to its body? Cal is counting the
- 45:44Speaker 2: letters at Randall has not come up with an answer.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Are you looking for a plural form of this?
- 45:56Speaker 2: What eight letter word describes the tapered region where a
- 46:00Speaker 2: fish's tail fin is attached to its body?
- 46:03Speaker 4: Randall's going, I'm just gonna just gonna take these points home,
- 46:06Speaker 4: start playing a future for my family.
- 46:09Speaker 6: I need to risk that.
- 46:11Speaker 2: I think Randall has been at eleven five.
- 46:14Speaker 4: Yeah, since question Yeah, I think actually yep five wow.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it's it's just a word, it's just
- 46:23Speaker 1: part of fish. Well, we're playing for the we're playing
- 46:26Speaker 1: for the wind. So essentially, I mean it's.
- 46:30Speaker 4: You would have to guess what I wager.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Uh huh yeah, and then either wager zero or I
- 46:36Speaker 1: wager all of it.
- 46:40Speaker 6: Exactly what kind of zero against?
- 46:46Speaker 1: We don't know what he made first guesses on those
- 46:48Speaker 1: questions and I left it.
- 46:50Speaker 4: All I'm telling you is I'm going high.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Cal has served you his warning. He has a high weight.
- 46:58Speaker 4: Like if these are all chips, I'd be going like, okay.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Cal is very confident he is hinting at a high wager,
- 47:07Speaker 2: and Randall has yet to come up with an.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Answer for the region and not the taper Is that correct?
- 47:12Speaker 2: What eight letter word describes the tapered region where a
- 47:16Speaker 2: fish's tail fin is attached to its body? Hunter, do
- 47:20Speaker 2: you have this one right?
- 47:21Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 47:22Speaker 2: Okay, Yanni?
- 47:24Speaker 5: Would you get this?
- 47:26Speaker 2: Don't give don't give out any hints here. There's a
- 47:28Speaker 2: lot on the line, and no, I don't know what
- 47:32Speaker 2: if he said on this week's episode of Okay, Is
- 47:39Speaker 2: everybody ready, Randal?
- 47:40Speaker 4: There's a lot of them in Lake Ontario?
- 47:44Speaker 2: Is everybody ready?
- 47:45Speaker 1: Most of those walleye for culvers, they'll come from Manitoba.
- 47:49Speaker 2: That is right, demn It would have a wager written
- 47:52Speaker 2: down as well. Yes, go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 47:56Speaker 2: We have seth wagering nothing and has no answer. Cal
- 48:00Speaker 2: saying ped uncle. He's wagering all ten of his points,
- 48:03Speaker 2: Hunter saying it's waste, wagering zero, Christine wagering zero, saying pectoral,
- 48:11Speaker 2: Alyssa and Yanni are out of the game. Randall wagering
- 48:14Speaker 2: zero saying grip part The correct answer is Peduncle, making
- 48:21Speaker 2: cal our winner wins twenty four points. He beats Randall,
- 48:26Speaker 2: who had eleven.
- 48:28Speaker 4: Just a measly eleven.
- 48:30Speaker 2: Well played again, Randall had correct answers where he didn't
- 48:34Speaker 2: wager anything or no, you said you thought you had
- 48:37Speaker 2: the correct.
- 48:37Speaker 1: You know, culvers immediately came to mind, and blew immediately
- 48:41Speaker 1: came to mind. But I thought there were other grouse
- 48:44Speaker 1: that were considered blue grass outside.
- 48:46Speaker 6: You didn't wager any points, well I didn't.
- 48:49Speaker 2: You didn't get them right though, either. Instead we have Cal,
- 48:52Speaker 2: who swoops in at the end with twenty points. Uncle,
- 48:59Speaker 2: did that did that word sound familiar after we heard
- 49:04Speaker 2: the answer? No, didn't hit anybody. P e ed you
- 49:11Speaker 2: p e d uncle. We're We're not gonna make him
- 49:14Speaker 2: spell it right. A col was just playing on hard
- 49:17Speaker 2: mode by spelling it wrong. Peduncle means peduncle means stem
- 49:24Speaker 2: fish's strong swimming muscles are located. The best way to
- 49:28Speaker 2: think about this is by imagining that the tail fin
- 49:30Speaker 2: is the propeller and the peduncle is the motor. This
- 49:33Speaker 2: area is largely responsible for a fish's locomotion.
- 49:36Speaker 6: Cal.
- 49:37Speaker 2: What happens next is you get to choose where the
- 49:39Speaker 2: five hundred dollars donation goes. This is the first game
- 49:42Speaker 2: we've ever played under the wager rules. It's a big donation.
- 49:46Speaker 2: Where are we sending it to? You?
- 49:49Speaker 4: Mans? Lots going on?
- 49:58Speaker 2: Cal director of conservation can't come up with a conservation organization.
- 50:02Speaker 6: He needs suggestions.
- 50:03Speaker 1: He's taking it serious.
- 50:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna sued A corner crossing case is still
- 50:10Speaker 4: going uh and fundraising for that. So I'm gonna go
- 50:12Speaker 4: Wyoming b h A, Wyoming Backcountry Hunters and Anglers.
- 50:16Speaker 2: And it's specific to the corner crossing thing that's still
- 50:19Speaker 2: not wrapped up. It's been years. Yea, where are we
- 50:22Speaker 2: currently standing?
- 50:23Speaker 4: So we're currently waiting on our shot in appeals court.
- 50:28Speaker 4: So technically not our shot if you are pro corner crossing,
- 50:35Speaker 4: but this is the landowner, the holding company that is
- 50:39Speaker 4: appealing the original decision.
- 50:42Speaker 2: I think we have an episode of the Medater podcast
- 50:45Speaker 2: coming up in the next couple of weeks where they
- 50:46Speaker 2: talk to a lawyer.
- 50:47Speaker 4: It actually it came out a while ago.
- 50:51Speaker 6: Oh it did yep?
- 50:52Speaker 8: Oh yeah, well, I mean as this episode airs.
- 51:00Speaker 4: A couple of weeks ago. Check it out.
- 51:02Speaker 1: Jill's Inside of the Matrix.
- 51:04Speaker 4: I know there should be a back to the Future episode, Episode.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Four eighty eight, awesome pretzel.
- 51:10Speaker 4: Go back and check out episode four eighty eight. Lots
- 51:12Speaker 4: of awesome, awesome info from the attorney for the defense.
- 51:20Speaker 2: What do we think of the wager style? Would you
- 51:22Speaker 2: want to play that again?
- 51:23Speaker 6: That was kind of fun even though I sucked at it?
- 51:26Speaker 2: Yeah, lowest score. There you go.
- 51:32Speaker 4: It is fun though at the end, right when you're like, oh, no,
- 51:36Speaker 4: I actually know this versus Stab in the dark, because.
- 51:40Speaker 2: You know you can intimidate random he fell apart.
- 51:45Speaker 4: I mean no, I just it's kind of hard to
- 51:47Speaker 4: watch for all you folks.
- 51:50Speaker 1: I feel like I just played conservatively and all of
- 51:53Speaker 1: my decisions I don't know that I made a wrong
- 51:55Speaker 1: decision throughout.
- 51:57Speaker 4: This is not a guy that you want to follow
- 51:58Speaker 4: through Bozeman traffic.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Right now, Cal is our winner now. As a reminder
- 52:05Speaker 2: of the board game is available right now in the
- 52:07Speaker 2: mead Eater store. If you like this show, if you

- 52:26Speaker 2: made for people who love this lifestyle. Thank you to
- 52:29Speaker 2: see you for the opportunity on this podcast, big platform.
- 52:33Speaker 2: He just let me like have my fun with Phil
- 52:36Speaker 2: for making this show what it is. We'd have no
- 52:38Speaker 2: idea what it was going to be like and nailed
- 52:40Speaker 2: the sound effects everything else. Phil, Thank you. Hunter did
- 52:43Speaker 2: all the amazing design work on the board game. That's
- 52:46Speaker 2: like my favorite play beautiful. It looks like no other

- 53:02Speaker 2: ever the case the players in this room for the
- 53:05Speaker 2: fun environment. Otherwise it would just be me like telling
- 53:08Speaker 2: you facts that that's nothing you know, compared to everyone
- 53:12Speaker 2: having fun in here, giving me a hard time, giving
- 53:14Speaker 2: each other a hard time, and the listeners who's sending questions,
- 53:17Speaker 2: leaf comments, download shows, watch YouTube. None of it would
