- 0:23SPEAKER_00: So grab your favorite beverage, settle in, and let's craft some connections.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Hello, welcome back to Crafted Connections.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: It's great to have you.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: I collect stories from folks in in my network and in my community, and I and I share them.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: I also kind of tell my own experience of uh enhancing my storytelling, enhancing marketing, like leaning into my business, uh life stories, kind of inspo stories, what have you, but it's all circled and surrounding stories, right?
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: I'm a big believer that community is built through connection and connection is built through storytelling.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, in order to have a strong community, you gotta lean into your stories.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: And that's that's what I do here.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: I I get on the mic, I interview people, and I share my own.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: So we are doing something just a tiny bit different here on Crafted Connections.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: So typically I'll release an episode every Thursday-ish, and it'll be either a solo episode where I'm speaking on a topic related to storytelling, related to business, related to lifing, or I will interview a guest and we will have a lovely conversation.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: We'll talk about their story, we'll talk about their their situations, they'll talk about we'll talk about their experiences to kind of connect you with them, to connect them with you, to you know, connect them and me a little bit more.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: It's just a lovely time.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: But we are going to do something I'm calling an on the go episode.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: So back in April, I attended the Grow Conference.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: So I am the fractional chief content officer for Grow We Wo, which is a women's organization that's all about empowering women, changing the status quo of what it's like to be a woman on this planet in this world, building community around that and and learning together, succeeding together, collaborating together is where it's at.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: So I've been able to do that with them for oh my gosh, what is it, September?
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: So it's been nine months now.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Nine months I've been working with them, doing some really, really fun things for the women in in our community.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: So I brought my podcast equipment to the Fort Wayne conference this year, 2025.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: And I set up a booth and I interviewed women and I asked them a few questions, and it was really fun seeing and hearing all the different answers that I got.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna feature all the individuals that I interviewed that day back in April.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: So, anyways, I love these women.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: There were about, gosh, I think I did about 14 interviews that day and to share stories on the go.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: So I hope you enjoy.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Take a listen and uh see you on the other side, my friends.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Lee Tasha Henry.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Nice, uh Letasha, that's what you say?
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Okay, yes, and you can just call me Tasha.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Tasha.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Okay, cool.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: So Tasha Henry.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Yes, go ahead and give us like one or two sentences about who you are.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Well, I always start off with I'm a mom of three, um, two boys and a little girl.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: She's two, and former educator, and now running a skincare business.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Well, it's great to have you here at the Grow Conference.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Can you give me a moment or a story or a time in your life that that has been really impactful?
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: I've had a lot of impactful stories, but I'm torn between two.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: So let's go with last job before I resigned.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: I was working at a school and really helping students find their purpose, make better choices.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: In school and then helping them think about their future.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: I love teaching and I miss it a lot.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: And I think that time in my life was so impactful because when you're able to see your impact on others, it's very rewarding.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: And building trust with anybody is really important, but building trust with youth is is you know, it's it just takes it to another level.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: And so they help me, I help them, and that was really impactful.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: And just working with just a dynamic staff at that time, and it was yeah, probably a good way to exit my career, never teaching.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: Once a teacher, always a teacher, but yes.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: I mean, I imagine you were probably teaching when you were a kid, and you're just like, let's roll right into this.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: At first grade, I knew I wanted to be a teacher, so I love that.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: My mom I was raised by a teacher, so I have a deep place in my heart.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: It did a thankless job.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: My mom came home with the big tote of papers to grade, but thank you for your time doing that.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: And I love that that was such a special thing for you.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: And now you know you're helping folks in a different way, and that's so cool.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely loving it.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: So, final question uh what does alignment mean to you?
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: Alignment.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: Well, uh when I think about alignment, it goes back to a chiropractor.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: So, really just wanting everything to be in order, and you think of balance, but I say temperance, and that's in all things in my life.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: Temperance in in everything, like not giving too much to anything, right?
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: And so that is important to me, God first, and then learning how to give.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: Because it's easy to be in balance and give more to the job than the family, or more to the family than, you know, so it it's to yourself.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly, exactly.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: Temperance is a word that I recently started really like, you know, your brain doesn't really like process an important word until you're like, oh, okay.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: Because right, you you can be taking on a lot and like you can be balanced between a lot, like you could be like, I gotta do all this for my kids, I gotta do this all for work, I gotta do this.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: Also, I have to do this for me.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: But it's like if it's too much, it's too much.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: And it's oh, I really like that.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: That is such a beautiful answer.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: I wish they could see it.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I wish they could see your your hand motion.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness, we'll just have to make a gif or something, and that'll be the podcast um uh thumbnail.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: But thank you so much, Tasha.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: I appreciate this opportunity.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: No problem.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: It's great to meet you.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: So there you have it.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: It has been women like these women that have put me back together.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: I know I've shared.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: I really had a beautiful Dululu era that was a lot of throwing stuff at a wall and a lot of tripping and falling and failing, frankly.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Failing that I would not have been able to put myself back together from without women like the ones you just heard, right?
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: Women like the ones I met at the Fort Wayne conference, ones I'm going to meet at the Anderson conference and speak to and connect with.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: And you know, just women outside of those circles as well, uh, have really, really put me back together.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: So I'm super pumped for this series.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: I hope you enjoy and find yourself in some of these stories.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: Yay! Thanks, friends.
