- 0:05The. Thing isn't though.
- 0:11Now that you say that, I can't see it.
- 0:13You're absolutely right. After what time?
- 0:15Let's let's talk about that first, because I was going to go
- 0:17in a totally. Different direction.
- 0:18You can make as much money as you need and work your way
- 0:22towards any ship in the game. They they were trying to cash in
- 0:26off of that nostalgia and that hype.
- 0:31Open comes the radio. You're * Siddleson radio show
- 0:38Yeah, we're back. All right.
- 0:40Now tell me how back we are. No, we're so back.
- 0:43We're so, it's so back. We're so oh.
- 0:46Good. Tons to talk about.
- 0:47You got tons of Yeah, you had quite the laundry list of Star
- 0:50Citizen happiness to go over, so.
- 0:54We will not disappoint this evening in terms of news, things
- 0:58we have to, things we have to talk about.
- 0:59A lot happens. You, you step out for one week
- 1:02in the middle of summer thinking, oh, all, all my joy is
- 1:06gone. I'm just going to go outside,
- 1:07sit in the sun, sit by the pool, go on a hike.
- 1:11I don't know what you did to have.
- 1:12What did you do on your day off that?
- 1:14Was for the 4th you mean I mean. For that Wednesday.
- 1:19Oh, Oh yeah, I survived. I survived.
- 1:21What'd you do on the 4th? I made a ridiculous amount of
- 1:25gumbo, about 35 quarts. 35 quarts of gumbo Who'd you feed?
- 1:34Not that many people. I've been giving gumbo out to
- 1:37every every neighbor on the block.
- 1:38So really, yeah, no, I mean, I still got it.
- 1:42So I'm gonna eat gumbo for another week or so, so.
- 1:46But anyway. Yeah, yeah, very good dude.
- 1:50I wish I got a little bit of gumbo.
- 1:52I didn't eat too much, honestly. Yeah.
- 1:54Did you have a fun time? I had a fun time.
- 1:56I watched. I watched the fireworks, you
- 1:59know, It was good. It was chill, but the whole time
- 2:02I was just thinking, gosh darn if I could watch fireworks and
- 2:05Star Citizen. It's depends on who you fly
- 2:09with, right? And it'll happen.
- 2:11Well, I'm excited and happy that I didn't get banned.
- 2:16Oh, sounds like a story. No, I didn't do anything.
- 2:19I just heard a lot of people were getting banned.
- 2:22From the Star Citizen. Permanent ban, Did you?
- 2:25Did you see this? I heard I've had the cheating
- 2:28conversation being that seems to be everywhere for a second, but
- 2:32no, I haven't heard anything about any band like band Waves.
- 2:37Oh no, no, they perma band Xylo posted on Spectrum.
- 2:44Yeah, 'cause they, they had a big post and they're like,
- 2:47basically this stuff stinks, so we're going to start policing
- 2:51it. Bada Bing bada boom everyone's
- 2:54banned and then Chad was like you've been banned for like 2
- 2:57weeks like and they're like no everyone who is hacking the game
- 3:01is perma banned. Dang, well, yeah, that'll, I
- 3:05mean, that's coming down hard on it, which is great.
- 3:09Yeah. I mean great.
- 3:10I mean, I, I guess I, I, you know, presumably there's, you
- 3:13know, these are evidenced and, you know, some of these are,
- 3:16some of these are exploits. Like, I don't know, I'd be
- 3:19curious to see how how heavy-handed they were being
- 3:22with it, how egregious the offenses are.
- 3:26I don't care dude if you're hacking in the game.
- 3:29Yeah, if you're hacking like. Get out of here.
- 3:32If you get any gags. It's a video game.
- 3:36Watch a movie, you know what I'm saying?
- 3:39Make a TikTok. Do do literally anything else.
- 3:43Do anything other than pop it into my game, our game.
- 3:50That's interesting. Hopefully that cleans up then.
- 3:52I mean, I mean, I imagine that goes hand in hand with like the
- 3:55cheating conversation that's been everywhere.
- 3:58Well, yeah, that was the response to that.
- 4:00OK, yeah, gotcha. So I mean, All in all, positive
- 4:04thumbs up, thumbs up, right? Right from the beginning.
- 4:08You wake up 1 morning, you have a good thumbs up.
- 4:12Yeah. Hey, you know what?
- 4:15What else? What else was on the new?
- 4:17I mean, that sounds like a pretty finger on the walls.
- 4:20I have something else for you right here, Tav.
- 4:25And for those of you listening, I've pulled up the Star Citizen
- 4:29Economy Feedback Survey. Now, Tav, it's come to my
- 4:34understanding that you have not completed the survey.
- 4:38I have not, no, no. This is kind of more or less
- 4:42looking at this with fresh. Ads, So we're going to do
- 4:45something a little different on open comps today.
- 4:47Of course, we're going to take our callers like we always do.
- 4:49If you want to call on to open comms, you can join our Discord.
- 4:53It's linked on the YouTube and Spotify and wherever you're
- 4:55listening to this, you'll find it.
- 4:57You can join us on Wednesday nights at 9:00 PM.
- 5:00And what we do here is we just take callers and people come in
- 5:04and tell us what they think. Every week we have a question.
- 5:07This week's question was going to be about the hacking, but I
- 5:10had a little inspiration. So this week's question is what
- 5:16did you say on the economy survey and have you haven't said
- 5:21anything yet? All right, because I guess,
- 5:24yeah, we'll have to. We'll have to take it or
- 5:26something. So what we're going to do
- 5:28tonight is we are going to fill out Tavs.
- 5:33OK? Yeah.
- 5:34This will get this live on air with the help Volvo callers.
- 5:40Is that your name? What's your name?
- 5:42OnStar. Citizen Tavarose.
- 5:45Tavarose. Like this, TAV?
- 5:53Well, we've doxed. We've doxed just about everyone
- 5:55on the show. That's true.
- 5:57So Tav, I'm going to do you a favor here.
- 6:01OK. Since it is your survey, I'm
- 6:04going to let you answer the first question.
- 6:07On average, how many hours a week do you play Star Citizen?
- 6:10Oh, I don't know how. It really depends because some
- 6:12weeks not at all and then some weeks it's 10 to 15/15/20.
- 6:18So I don't know, 5 to 10, yeah. Let's go 5 to 10 is reasonable.
- 6:23I have 10. Yeah, that's reasonable. 10
- 6:25hours is yeah yeah, yeah all. Right.
- 6:26Yeah, Yeah, I like that couple of minutes.
- 6:29Yeah. That feels good to me.
- 6:30So what we're gonna do is we're gonna pull up our callers.
- 6:32I don't know who was first on this list to have.
- 6:33Did you see who was first today? I.
- 6:35Did not see who's first today. I'm just gonna have to.
- 6:38Chat chat Let me know who was first today.
- 6:45Chad, who filled out the economy.
- 6:46Sir, we got, we got our, we got our hobo.
- 6:48Hobo was first today, so we're going to pull up our good friend
- 6:52in Spoiler Connoisseur Cosmic Hobo.
- 6:57Cosmic Hobo, welcome to Open Comms Radio.
- 7:00Back to the show. Thank you.
- 7:03Thank you for stopping in 1st 1st order of business is do I
- 7:07sound good? I'm using a new mic today.
- 7:09Yes, you sound good. You opened quite loudly, but you
- 7:13you sound good. I turned it down a bit.
- 7:15I got your texts, I got your chat, I got the chat tab.
- 7:20You want to ask? Let's ask Obo his question.
- 7:24Oh, you going right down the list?
- 7:25Roughly how much? Outfit No, no, no, no.
- 7:27The question, hobo is what did you say on the economy survey?
- 7:31Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:32So that's how we can do this. Catch, catch, catch.
- 7:34Yeah, in, in, in, in one sentence or less.
- 7:36Hobo. What did you say on the economy
- 7:38survey? I was I played probably a lot
- 7:42and was really looking forward to base boating to funnel all my
- 7:45resources and do going forward. I see.
- 7:51We need that. We need that money sync, we need
- 7:53that time sync. We need something to work
- 7:56towards. I know multiple guests have
- 7:59brought this up before. I know Rob has more of has, even
- 8:03Wicked has, like everyone has at some point or another brought up
- 8:06that we need base building. We need things to work for and
- 8:10work towards. And on that free response
- 8:14question further down, I don't know if it's on this page or
- 8:17not, it's brings up the Open. And if you had an infinite
- 8:22amount of UEC and all the items in the game, what would you do
- 8:25with it? And my answer was pretty much
- 8:28focus on my own bases, the org spaces.
- 8:32And then I would just like sponsor race teams.
- 8:37Even honestly, I hate racing. I hate racing.
- 8:39I'm terrible at it. I don't like it.
- 8:41It's boring, but I want that nice rich guy feeling of
- 8:46sponsoring a race team. Oh yeah?
- 8:50Oh, you want that rich guy? You want the F1 feeling.
- 8:53Yeah, I was thinking like horse owner feeling, but yeah, they
- 8:58the the the modern race team. They like you sponsor A
- 9:02racehorse, you sponsor a race team, it's it makes you fancy
- 9:08like and especially since it's something I hate doing myself.
- 9:12I hate racing. I would much rather throw money
- 9:15at a race team for them to do it for me essentially.
- 9:21That'd be fun. So yeah, that that was that.
- 9:23That was kind of the answer for what was it that did they fit
- 9:26your Star Citizen fantasy? I think was.
- 9:28The yeah, yeah, you have all you have infinite UEC infinite.
- 9:32You're like all the items in the game.
- 9:33What would you do with it? Like the last thing I said at
- 9:36the end, of course, was a nice like Oh yeah.
- 9:37It also would like start a fun to help new players get their
- 9:41first non startership. Nice, nice, nice.
- 9:45OK. I like that idea.
- 9:49So overall, how do you feel about the survey?
- 9:52Fine, it was, I know some people are like feel bad that it's
- 9:57like, oh, or is this because they don't have plans for the I
- 10:00don't think that's quite right. I think they want to get kind of
- 10:02a vibe check of what we expect of the economy or what it's like
- 10:08right now, which of course is kind of crap right now.
- 10:11It's not, it's not immersive, it's not reactive.
- 10:16It's it's static and anytime it does change, it's very, it's
- 10:23very much trying to avoid exploits for the event.
- 10:26It's not a not a true supply and demand economy in the slightest.
- 10:30It needs that though. It needs that and it needs
- 10:34player interaction and it needs like one of the things I was
- 10:39asking about, like free trading, spending just your UEC to buy
- 10:44commodities and just take them somewhere else and to sell them.
- 10:48There's no real point in doing that right now because there's
- 10:51no trading to be involved. Like if you want to make money
- 10:56hauling, you do them via the missions or you do them through
- 11:01the events. There's just no economy really
- 11:04to speak of at this time. Which makes an economy survey
- 11:08kind of a little misleading since they're just really isn't
- 11:131. Because it's just not.
- 11:16It's not dynamic, and economy is dynamic.
- 11:18It has multiple players as multiple actors.
- 11:20It has multiple systems involved, all interlaced and
- 11:27interacting. Everyone had things that price.
- 11:30Things have cost and it's just a more a real economy is much more
- 11:35interesting to watch you. What do we, what do we think the
- 11:38next iteration is going to be of that economy?
- 11:41I mean, what's the crafting? Basic supply and demand, they're
- 11:46going to probably get that in before crafting.
- 11:48Is the idea that prices will change.
- 11:52That's right. Now prices don't really change.
- 11:56Like supply can change. Like you go somewhere and
- 12:00there's too much stuff so they don't buy anymore.
- 12:03But the prices of stuff don't really change.
- 12:06Is there any is this, is this a maybe a stale the what is it
- 12:10quantum quanta, the little? Yeah, yeah, they don't.
- 12:15Call it that anymore, I don't think but.
- 12:17OK. I don't know what exactly.
- 12:19Are they still kind of pushing to this?
- 12:21I just haven't heard it mentioned in so long, yeah.
- 12:27I think that's still the goal, and to be clear the goal was
- 12:30never eve level where someone could drop like 5 ships, ship
- 12:38ship loads worth of something rather let's say titanium and
- 12:43crash the economy of a whole solar system.
- 12:46Like you could do that in it was pretty easy to do once you got
- 12:50to a certain point in different corpse would do that.
- 12:54Star Citizen has at least last that they've ever even spoken
- 12:58on. This has always had a big skew
- 13:02towards the NPCS playing a bigger AKA them CIG having a
- 13:08bigger control over the economy than the players.
- 13:11The the ratios have gone around for different numbers every now
- 13:13and then. I I it used to be something like
- 13:1590% in PC interaction, 10% player.
- 13:20I've heard a couple others like it's gone as high as 30% I think
- 13:24whenever someone said it. I don't know if TIG fully knows
- 13:28yet, we'll see. But the idea at the end of the
- 13:32day is while players could bring in five shiploads full like a
- 13:37whole the worth of titanium to some small system and crash the
- 13:43prices, it's probably not going to be that big that players can
- 13:48have on that. But they'll they'll definitely
- 13:50have like certain ways to to game the system or at least
- 13:55influence it in a significant manner.
- 13:58Just not that significant. Well, I did put for my portion
- 14:05of this survey is there there was a question and we'll get to
- 14:09it. That was like how much of
- 14:11players that should affect the economy or for how long should
- 14:16like player events affect the economy.
- 14:18And I put forever because I'm, I want that like, yeah, until
- 14:25something changes, it's it. That's how it is.
- 14:28Yeah, I strongly consider that answer.
- 14:30And then I thought about it because I thought about how
- 14:32markets react and a player interaction and how they had
- 14:37originally pitched the economy of being that kind of lopsided
- 14:42influence. So I thought, I, I, I ordered,
- 14:44I, I said shorter. I, I did, I think like a week
- 14:47because that would be a long enough time for an actual
- 14:51economy to snap back to equilibrium depending on what
- 14:54we're talking about. Like it?
- 14:56It was a vague enough question that I wasn't entirely sure what
- 14:59I wanted to do with that. OK hobo.
- 15:02Well, I hope you're sure about what you did for question number
- 15:04three of the Star Citizen Economy Feedback survey asks
- 15:09roughly how much UEC do you have in your in game bank account?
- 15:15I was kind of surprised by how low they went here and I have
- 15:20about 9,000,010 million roughly depending on I did some payouts
- 15:25on Sundays to to people so I just have less but around 9 to
- 15:2910 million thereabouts. Wow Tav, what do you have?
- 15:34Between 100 and. 500K OK. OK, Yeah.
- 15:39OK, we will run it. We will reconcile this with 1 to
- 15:433,000,000 'cause that's how much I have and I'm in the middle so.
- 15:50Y'all are just yeah, heavy hitters over here.
- 15:55And I bought a lot of ships at the beginning of this patch.
- 15:58Or yeah. Yeah.
- 16:00OK, OK. Wow.
- 16:01You're in there a lot. Well, our next guest, Lord
- 16:04Anubis, I believe, is in there a lot as well.
- 16:07I'm going to pull up Lord Anubis here, our second caller.
- 16:11If you could scooch down the couch there, hobo.
- 16:12Yeah. Sure, no problem.
- 16:16Lord Anubis, welcome to the Trans Radio.
- 16:20Hello and thank you for for picking me out of order again.
- 16:26I appreciate that. Well, I just figured this is
- 16:30what it's going to be today. I wasn't.
- 16:31Gonna say anything but yeah, you.
- 16:35Yeah, we should get wicked on first before you got me.
- 16:37No, no. Wicked can wait.
- 16:39He's there. What?
- 16:40Wait, He's there. Look at wickets.
- 16:44He's on every show. OK, We know him.
- 16:47But he was first. Look man, I I don't want to rat
- 16:52out on wicket, but I know as well as anybody else that Wicked
- 16:55has not been playing Star Citizen.
- 16:58He has been doing it up. He's been doing it up.
- 17:02He's been doing it the. Solid dune.
- 17:05Dune in, day in and day out. So we're going to get to wicket
- 17:09for now, Lord Newbus, this is your time, this is your moment
- 17:11to shine and this is our moment to ask you.
- 17:14What did you say on the economy survey?
- 17:17Did I get the e-mail somewhere? Where is it?
- 17:22You know, I, I, I looked for it and I, I did not get it.
- 17:29So I I don't know. That's all right.
- 17:32Yeah, I'm. I was seeing it for fresh eyes
- 17:34too just now so. Yeah, I'm actually kind of
- 17:37curious as to where to find it because I would think.
- 17:40Spectrum. It's on spectrum.
- 17:43Yeah, I'll put it in the chat. Though that's a great way for
- 17:46them to spread something like that instead of like sending an
- 17:50e-mail to everybody. Well, I bet we'll I bet we will
- 17:53get an e-mail sooner or later. Usually things kind of flood out
- 17:55on Spectrum before they get on into the newsletter or.
- 17:58Whatever. Yeah, I.
- 18:00Mean that's too official. You know, I mean, looking at
- 18:03this to everybody only, only haters and weebs are on
- 18:09spectrum. Yeah, I.
- 18:13Think. Most well, I mean, I, I will say
- 18:16looking at this, I mean it's pretty straightforward, but
- 18:19honestly none of it means a thing.
- 18:21I think this is this is they put out a couple videos again, they
- 18:25made a bunch of promises they're sending a survey to ask people
- 18:29for things that they should have been they should have answered
- 18:33month years ago. I mean, but what, what, what do
- 18:37you like doing the most? Well, like you kind of put the
- 18:41only things in the game that we can do because we don't have
- 18:44anything else. And so it really doesn't matter
- 18:46what we think, you know, and you know, I mean, these are things
- 18:53they should have known what what earns you the most UEC, right?
- 18:57If it feels like they're trying to find a reason to not
- 19:00implement an economy. You know, that question to me
- 19:04was so weird. It was, we'll get to it.
- 19:06But it was like, what makes what missions make you the most
- 19:10money? It's like, how do you just not
- 19:11how do you not know that? Like how Like you know what the
- 19:15missions pay, so you ought to know what missions give you the
- 19:19most money. I I think that's, I don't think
- 19:20that's what they were trying to go for.
- 19:23But yeah, there were a couple questions like that.
- 19:26And I'm like, like you, you should know this.
- 19:29You know this better than me. Yeah, I mean it, it really does
- 19:34feel like this is a this is more of a survey on the, the, the,
- 19:44the how do you like the theme park?
- 19:46We set up, you know, all the rides we we set up that you can
- 19:52go and you go on your little ride and do your little
- 19:55adventure, but has nothing to do with an economy for real.
- 19:59That that's that's the most frustrating thing.
- 20:04Nothing here is an actually. And, and I think this is the
- 20:08last part, do you currently engage in or have interest in
- 20:12free trade using your own UEC to buy goods at one location, sell
- 20:15them for profit at another, hauling for profit?
- 20:18Like really, why are they? Why are they asking that?
- 20:23I think that's the biggest thing right there 'cause that seems
- 20:26like as far I cut Tier 1, Tier 0 implementation as far as I mean
- 20:31that's the basic. Is that that profitable?
- 20:34I know a couple traders and they said they've gotten a little bit
- 20:36of, you know, taking stuff from from here to there.
- 20:39So I know there's, there's still people that do the trading game
- 20:41play. I just when I did it last, it
- 20:44was just OK. This is not that, like it's a
- 20:47lot of time for not a huge profit, but is it where?
- 20:52I don't know where trading is right now in the game.
- 20:54I don't think it's in a much different spot than when you
- 20:57last did it. It hasn't changed much over the
- 21:00years. And they're not asking about
- 21:02player to player, they're asking do you do it in game with the
- 21:06with the little mission we provide you to just earn money?
- 21:08I mean, none of this is actually about a real economy where the
- 21:13end game is not constantly going to these little things and
- 21:16collecting money in order to buy a ship.
- 21:18The end game is trade. The end game is I'm the best.
- 21:23Like I work my way up to make the best weapons, the best
- 21:28armor. People come to me.
- 21:29They paid more because it's that good and I need these good
- 21:34supplies. It's a it's an economy.
- 21:35It's a real thing. There's, there's, there's
- 21:37marketplaces and they're asking none of this It's and that's
- 21:41disappointing considering the video that they put out where
- 21:44they're supposed to be promising all this stuff and they've asked
- 21:46nothing about it. Is there not a, is there a
- 21:49system in game now though? When?
- 21:51So if somebody 'cause I, we have a little bit with weapons,
- 21:54right, somebody can go to a station and buy up all the, you
- 21:57know, the ammo of a certain type.
- 22:00So there's a quantity there, right?
- 22:01And I'm assuming that's there for trading as well?
- 22:04Is I just? Don't couldn't we just tweak
- 22:07these numbers and they have, they have if there's a back end
- 22:10system for this right, that says, hey, there's X amount of
- 22:13like Leronite or something at this one location.
- 22:17Is that barely is there barely is.
- 22:20It's only on the supply side, like I said, like there's no
- 22:23changes in price. If there's no changes in price,
- 22:26there's no supply and demand. It's a two way St. you need one
- 22:31and the other. If you're only doing one,
- 22:33there's no point. You're not, you're not getting
- 22:35any sort of dynamic economy that you need to have, you know, an
- 22:39economy. Basic fundamental MMO things
- 22:44that they're still leaving out of the game, including pay,
- 22:46player tags. I don't know who's standing 6
- 22:49feet in front of me. I can't trade with them.
- 22:51I can't trust a trade because there's no way to trade safely.
- 22:57And they're asking about how the rides are and it's all fluff.
- 23:03Maybe I hear you about like it being it.
- 23:06It seemed out of place, but maybe that's not the information
- 23:09they're trying to grab. Wait, maybe this to me seems
- 23:14like maybe it's just like a scale of like what's fun?
- 23:18Maybe they're just trying to measure fun because but that
- 23:22then that begs the questions, like why are there questions
- 23:24about like what missions make you the most money?
- 23:27Because some of the questions I felt were asking me about fun,
- 23:31and some of the questions I felt were asking me about things they
- 23:33should know. Yep.
- 23:36No. I think they do know it, and
- 23:39those questions are honestly pointless.
- 23:41They're just trying to figure out what we think makes more
- 23:45money, what we think we like to do.
- 23:47Like it's not necessarily. So they can make fun of us.
- 23:52Yeah, they need more, more fuel for their for their parties and
- 23:58stand up sessions and roasting the the the players.
- 24:03Yeah, I mean, I I get it. I understand that.
- 24:07Look at these Dicks. Like doing free trading?
- 24:11Anubis. I mean, and, and how do we
- 24:15verify that? OK, well, we've got the
- 24:17information. OK, cool.
- 24:18What do you do with it now? I don't know.
- 24:22I guess we already had different plans in place, but now we're
- 24:24asking this for some reason, you know, and, and, and, and if you
- 24:29look at the chat or not chat, but if you look at Spectrum,
- 24:32where this is posted, I'm, I'm just like scrolling down through
- 24:36this, this page and almost everybody is saying the exact
- 24:41same thing. I mean, if if they were hoping
- 24:44to do something here, they it backfired really big.
- 24:48Really. Well, I don't know.
- 24:50Spectrum is the is the barometer by which we measure, you know,
- 24:55anything, any. It just, it just doesn't feel
- 24:59like a very time oriented survey.
- 25:01Like there's this exact survey I could have taken 8 years ago and
- 25:06it would be the exact same questions.
- 25:09Yep. Well, so here's a question for
- 25:10us and Lord Anubis, I want you to take a stab at this one.
- 25:14It's it's it's a drag to rank question.
- 25:16So I'll ask each of you and we're going to just try to
- 25:18figure out our top three and maybe our bottom 3.
- 25:21So Dragon rank, your favorite in game activities.
- 25:25Top is the favorite. So we have FPS combat, ship
- 25:28combat, hauling missions, Courier missions, PvP, bounding,
- 25:32salvage missions, mining, free trade that's usually using your
- 25:37own UEC to buy something at 1 spaceport and sell it for
- 25:41hopefully a profit at another location.
- 25:44Sandbox gameplay that's contested zones, Dorm breaker.
- 25:48We have a definition now and temporary release specific
- 25:53events like state, save, Stanton.
- 25:57They don't have arguing with people in global on here.
- 26:02That's that's that's PvP bounties.
- 26:04That's a false. Yeah.
- 26:07So, Anubis, what would you say your top three favorite
- 26:09activities, You know, I mean. Sandbox gameplay obviously is
- 26:18always fun, but again that you're going back to those
- 26:20rides, PvP bounty missions, if they actually worked, are the
- 26:24most fun that I that I have. I mean, they're a type of role
- 26:29play PvP that can earn you some money and is also tends to be a
- 26:34little bit more, I want to say more honorable PvP because
- 26:39people like they understand where what they're coming into.
- 26:41It's not just someone ganking someone randomly.
- 26:43This is this is like you're kind of setting it up.
- 26:47It's kind of like going over in a in in another game.
- 26:50So PvP bounty missions and then after that, you know, free
- 26:57trading. I, I do like the idea.
- 26:59And now they're using free trading differently.
- 27:01They're, they're, they're calling that taking cargo from
- 27:03one place, going to another place that, you know, you bought
- 27:07it and then you go trade it there.
- 27:08I mean, player to player trading, honestly, I actually
- 27:11love the fact that I can help find, you know, crazy things,
- 27:16sell them to someone. They got crazy things.
- 27:18I buy this and we move it around.
- 27:20It's it it, it is the hint, and it's the only part of the real
- 27:24living core of it right now. OK, OK.
- 27:29Hobo. Do you have?
- 27:31If you can make one change to this top three, what would you
- 27:34say? I would put temporary events at
- 27:39top temp. Well, sandbox at the top, then
- 27:42temporary events. All right, so I'll swap
- 27:45temporary up here for a minute and then hobo, why don't you
- 27:48give us your bottom 3? Oh that one is pretty easy.
- 27:53Hauling, Courier and free trading.
- 27:58Oh, free. You put free training on the
- 27:59bottom. All right.
- 28:00I want to move it in the middle for a second and we're going to
- 28:03see where Tav Tav. This is your survey after all.
- 28:07Oh yeah, well, I mean I sandbox gameplay.
- 28:10I think all the the list actually as it is now looks
- 28:14pretty. I haven't done a whole lot of
- 28:16bounty missions, but I'm sure that the I'd love to see that
- 28:19work so. Well, it sounds like everybody
- 28:22puts sandbox in the top three, so I'm going to put sandbox #1
- 28:25for us. OK, now the next question is the
- 28:29one I had maybe the most trouble with is drag to rank your in
- 28:32game activities that earn you the most UEC.
- 28:36I mean real quick, what do we think earns us the most UEC?
- 28:40The temporary events. Temporary events, right?
- 28:43A year ago that would be a totally wrong statement 'cause
- 28:46they used to pay just dog shit, but then they changed it up and
- 28:51now they pay so much better. And what pays the worst?
- 28:58Plus sandbox gameplay by far you don't get any.
- 29:01Money, pay anything usually. I mean you pick up loot and
- 29:05stuff and you get like valuable items.
- 29:07So that's what I was saying. I was like, Oh well, does that
- 29:09count as making money? And maybe that's where they were
- 29:12going with this, but all right. Well, Anubis, if you could
- 29:18scooch on down the couch there. We have time for our our.
- 29:21Our someone feed over there might be sitting, don't worry
- 29:25about it. Oh Taff.
- 29:28Yeah, we'll, we'll, we'll, we'll get.
- 29:29Some a towel. It's mostly just water.
- 29:33Mostly. Water.
- 29:34Thank you. Lord Anubis, did.
- 29:35Did you come prepared today? Did I?
- 29:39Oh, wow, wow. I mean, I mean right here in
- 29:42front of everybody. Well, I just think this would be
- 29:44the appropriate moment. Oh, oh, oh.
- 29:48You meant commercial? I I, I thought you were talking
- 29:50about something else. Anyways, that's.
- 29:52That's the next show. It's.
- 29:54The After Dark special one. Yes.
- 29:59So, you know, one of the things is, is is we were we've been
- 30:03talking about hauling and you know, Kovilex is one of the
- 30:05sponsors did. You know that of this show.
- 30:10Yeah. Well.
- 30:12And they sent us over a little blurb.
- 30:14OK, Yeah, you got that. Yeah, here we go.
- 30:18Yep. Let me let me go ahead and and
- 30:21pop this over here. OK.
- 30:23They sent us that, you know, it's 5:00 PM You've been waiting
- 30:26for a critical part to get the job done.
- 30:28So our job is to make sure you can.
- 30:30Our army of independent delivery people, our network of reliable
- 30:34drop facilities, all in place to ensure that your day ends how
- 30:38you need it to, when you need it to.
- 30:39Kovil X count on X. That that was that was a really
- 30:45good ad. Pretty sure.
- 30:47They. Yeah, they're not as funny as
- 30:49the other people. Oh yeah, Kovil X is very
- 30:52serious. Well, because you want them to
- 30:54be if they're delivering your packages or if their.
- 30:58Station gets completely destroyed and you lose all your
- 31:01packages. As well, so we're all scooched
- 31:05down. Do me a favor, Anubis, sit in
- 31:08that P and we're going to bring up you know him, you love him.
- 31:14Open comms radios, Most persistent guest wicket.
- 31:20Yeah, welcome back to the show. Citizens long time.
- 31:26List Hello. 21st time caller. 22nd, right?
- 31:32No. Is this 21?
- 31:36No, this is 22. Free time.
- 31:38I don't know. I don't know.
- 31:39You're using that new math, that galactic math.
- 31:41I'm. Bro here's the thing, I I
- 31:43physically counted them Terra. Firma.
- 31:46Bound I went the. Old math.
- 31:52It took me like 40 seconds to count all these episodes and I
- 31:57count. I have a list.
- 31:58I have a notepad list that I have to keep because I'm getting
- 32:01old. I can't remember these things.
- 32:03That makes sense. You write big.
- 32:05Yeah, anyway. Well.
- 32:08Wicked, we're glad to have you here.
- 32:10Thank you. Thank you.
- 32:12What did you think wicked with this economy survey?
- 32:16I, I think, I think I'm going to give a a little different spin
- 32:20on the whole survey if I, if I might.
- 32:25Fire so. Obviously almost all the
- 32:28information except for the subjective stuff and like the
- 32:34last question of the of the survey, all of the stuff they
- 32:38could have easily data scraped it from their databases and
- 32:41gotten that. It gotten clear and concise
- 32:44information. I think this survey was more
- 32:48about what the player base, you know, they wanted to to, to get
- 32:53a pulse of what the players thought of whether it was what
- 32:57the perception is, not necessarily what's the actual
- 33:00real thing. Obviously there's no economy
- 33:03yet. Obviously some of these
- 33:04questions are a little topsy turvy.
- 33:07I think really the point is missed that they just wanted to
- 33:12know what, what we as players think these answers are, not
- 33:17necessarily what the the correct answer is.
- 33:19It wasn't a test. It was just a survey.
- 33:21They just wanted to figure out, OK, what do you guys think is
- 33:24the best way to make money? What are you guys?
- 33:26What's your favorite activity? You know, that's all they want
- 33:29to know. And sometimes you could, you
- 33:32could look at it like from, from the lens of what Spectrum had
- 33:35said and said, oh, you know, obviously they should already
- 33:38know all this stuff. Why are they doing the surveys
- 33:41like a waste of time. But I think everybody's missing
- 33:43the point. It's this is our, our, our time
- 33:47to to chime in and in a more unofficial, official manner.
- 33:52I don't know how you want to what the calculus.
- 33:55A temperature check, I guess. Right, basically, you know, get
- 33:59the pulse of the community and see, see, you know, are they
- 34:02working on the right stuff? Is, is, are their efforts in in,
- 34:08in the directions that they're pushing most of their efforts
- 34:10right now for the PU, is that being well received, etcetera,
- 34:15etcetera. This was, I think this was like
- 34:17you said, a temperature check, a pulse check, whatever.
- 34:22As far as the main thing that I tried to tell them is that they
- 34:26should make Cruz Lux real. And you know, that would make
- 34:30the game a lot better. Homie you trying to burn a hole
- 34:35in my wallet? Not drinking that if I see that
- 34:41at the grocery store, but. I I did, I did, I did write a
- 34:44little paragraph at the end that end question.
- 34:48And basically in a nutshell, I'm, I mean, I'll read it to you
- 34:52if you want, but in a nutshell, what it all boils down to is
- 34:54that I want my time in the in in in Star Citizens universe to
- 35:00matter to that my actions matter.
- 35:06Yes, they're valued that there is a reason I log in, there's a
- 35:10reason for me to go to an asteroid and mine it.
- 35:15You know, obviously this is all ties in with economy and
- 35:18crafting, base building. Having been playing, doing on
- 35:23doing awakening, I want to do it online.
- 35:27Having play been playing, doing awakening a lot, I feel like
- 35:31everything I do in that title matters or that there's a reason
- 35:36behind what I'm doing. You know, if I pick up that weed
- 35:40on the ground, there's a purpose for me picking up that weed
- 35:43because I can use that in a crafting recipe.
- 35:45I get points to pick up. You know, it's, it's just all
- 35:49stupid little stuff like that, but it makes your end game
- 35:54activity meaningful. In other words, you're not just
- 35:57chasing your tail, going from planet to planet, warping here,
- 36:02warping there just to for the elevator to kill you or some
- 36:05hacker to fucking strip you naked or all that kind of
- 36:09nonsense. But at the end of the day, make
- 36:14the game meaningful. And this is not going to happen
- 36:17overnight because you have to have reasons to be doing stuff.
- 36:21You know, obviously you have the reasons.
- 36:24They're getting closer to that with, with, with these missions
- 36:28where you have to, you know, get the, the, the, the worm teeth,
- 36:33the fangs, the pearls and all this stuff and you have to fight
- 36:36for it. That's a step in the right
- 36:38direction, I think. But of course there's a, there's
- 36:43a lot of issues. And in something like the times
- 36:46I have participated in that, believe it or not, I took a
- 36:48break from Dune and played a round or two in, in, in those
- 36:53missions. And to me, they were kind of
- 36:56hack jobs, man. It was just most of the time I
- 36:59spent covering a a Med bed so people who responding it, I'd
- 37:04kill him instantly. That's just that kind of
- 37:07gameplay is just terrible. You didn't like?
- 37:10You didn't like the worm? The worm was fine, but like
- 37:15obviously there were players that like that were hacking or
- 37:18using like Reshade to have like night vision because we were
- 37:23ducked behind a boulder and shit and complete dark shadow Tab
- 37:28wasn't with us with his glowing helmet at the time, so they
- 37:31couldn't see him. But all of a sudden they laser
- 37:36focused in on us from like, you know, 200 meters away.
- 37:40So that tells me that they were using like something like
- 37:42Reshade. They could just see us.
- 37:44It was like daylight for them even though we were coping with
- 37:47night time rain. Visibility is crap.
- 37:55It's lightning, Thunder. The only time you could see
- 37:58anything when there was a flash of lightning.
- 38:00You know, that's great. I love that part, but I didn't
- 38:04love the part where somebody could just fucking pick me out
- 38:06of, you know, in in the darkest shadow.
- 38:09That's bullshit. But again, you know, I'm sure
- 38:12that'll get solved eventually. But as to the survey, I think
- 38:19the survey is a good thing overall.
- 38:23I don't think you should look at it as it as it being misguided
- 38:26from CIGI think them wanting to get your temperature as a player
- 38:30is a great thing. And I think everybody should
- 38:33participate it participate in that because this is a, you
- 38:38know, obviously you're doing it on, on, on, on, on Twitch
- 38:42openly. But for most people, it's just
- 38:45going to be them and, and, and the survey and they can answer
- 38:47however they want and give their feelings.
- 38:50And there's no, it's, it's unadulterated information from
- 38:53one person's perspective. And you don't have to follow
- 38:56anything. It's just you and the survey.
- 38:58You give your two cents and you're done.
- 39:01And they can, they can quantify that information however they
- 39:03want, use it however they want. But I think any any amount of
- 39:06data or information that they can garner from the player base,
- 39:10hopefully answered answered authentically will be helpful.
- 39:16I agree, I like that. I like, I like your take on that
- 39:20for sure. So for now Wicket you took the
- 39:25survey drag to rank the in game activities you would do even if
- 39:32they paid nothing. Temporary sandbox and ship
- 39:41combat. So did everybody put temporary
- 39:44and sandbox in their top? I think I did sandbox and top
- 39:48and then temporary. But yeah, because those are the
- 39:51most fun. Those are the those activities,
- 39:54the sandbox activities and the temporary activities, those are
- 39:57like the most fleshed out. Most they've get get, they've
- 40:02received the most developer attention it seems like,
- 40:06especially as of late. And they're the most fun game
- 40:08loop that you can have. Agreed.
- 40:14Yeah, I think so. I mean even on #4 we have
- 40:16sandbox and temporary there for our favorites, so.
- 40:19If it wasn't for those, I would probably not have put in the
- 40:24many hundreds of hours that I put into the game.
- 40:28Yeah, I remember. Remember Siege of Orson Dude or
- 40:32whatever? You know what?
- 40:33That never even fucking worked for me.
- 40:35It never worked every single time the elevator was broken and
- 40:38I've never actually done the event.
- 40:41Wow, you have some trauma. It's it's when it worked.
- 40:44I couldn't make I can make that work either.
- 40:46Yeah, I remember that one just had bad.
- 40:50Yeah, I've heard great things. Never got.
- 40:56Like like. Zeno threat when, when you know,
- 40:59when we've, when that was one of our only events where you had to
- 41:02take your ship and, and, and get the, the, the, the, the
- 41:06prolamide or whatever, all the, the blue, the green and the
- 41:09yellow boxes and take them back to the gavel and to refuel it
- 41:12and all that. That was awesome, man.
- 41:16That when it worked and it worked properly, that was such a
- 41:19fun time, even with the people coming into PvP.
- 41:23And you know, on a lot of cases when that happened, a lot of the
- 41:26players that were there to do the mission that gang up on the
- 41:29PvP or Oh yeah, it was fun. Yeah, performance was horrible,
- 41:33server would crash all the time, missions would break, but.
- 41:38The funny thing is hobo when they first the first or second
- 41:41time this first or second iteration of them.
- 41:44I think it was the second iteration.
- 41:46It worked great. It really did eventually.
- 41:49Yeah. That, that was my 3.14, was when
- 41:52I came into the game and that was my first.
- 41:54This was like I was finding it a hurricane with somebody at that.
- 41:56I'm thinking more like 3.15 is when it really worked great for
- 42:02me back in those. No, didn't they do it?
- 42:04They did it recently like. Yeah, but it worked.
- 42:07It worked like shit. Half the time the shit weren't
- 42:11spawning. It kind of worked.
- 42:14All right, so. And I think it comes down to
- 42:16that's kind of, you know, how they're trying to, to, to, to
- 42:20rewrite the transit system, which includes strams, shuttles
- 42:24and elevators, because that's all legacy code that doesn't
- 42:28work in their, in their structure anymore.
- 42:30And, and so I'm thinking some of those old missions like that
- 42:35probably the same thing. They're going to have to be
- 42:37rejiggered to work properly in the, in the new, the new
- 42:41structure of the how the game back end works.
- 42:44But. So no, in light of that, since
- 42:48we're talking about the economy, you know who you haven't seen
- 42:51from was Tony Z. So I'm I'm thinking like all
- 42:54that stuff from 10 years ago or whatever just doesn't exist
- 42:59anymore. We.
- 43:01Haven't. Heard.
- 43:01Anything about it? Well, I don't know if it should
- 43:03be a fear. I mean, if if it got left on the
- 43:06cutting room floor, maybe there's a reason.
- 43:08Right. Yeah, that's that's true too.
- 43:11The reason is because they didn't have ChatGPT and clawed
- 43:14to help them code it quick enough.
- 43:17Maybe. Could have been.
- 43:20I'm making a never mind. We'll talk about it next show.
- 43:24Tav, we're not ready for this conversation.
- 43:27You ain't ready for this tab. You ain't ready.
- 43:29For this tab, tab ready. You ain't seen nothing yet.
- 43:33So drag trach thinking activities you would do even if
- 43:36they paid nothing. What's at the bottom of our
- 43:39list? I mean trading because.
- 43:44It doesn't make any sense to do that with.
- 43:46You're not making money. Free trading.
- 43:48I put that at the bottom of my list.
- 43:50So I was like, why? Yeah.
- 43:51You arguing on global the the. Funny thing is about free
- 43:55trading. Free trading used to make a shit
- 43:58ton of money. It was like one of the easiest
- 44:00ways to make money, but everybody started understanding
- 44:05what the loop is because it's the same loop over and over and
- 44:10over again. And then the resources started
- 44:13drying up. So somebody you'd have to stand
- 44:15in line waiting to be able to purchase any, any quantities to
- 44:20make enough money to make it worthwhile.
- 44:22So that that's probably the shittiest way to make money now.
- 44:28Yeah, because they implemented the supply side without doing
- 44:31anything with the demand side. So prices don't change, but the
- 44:34supply does. Yeah, the lack of being able to
- 44:37purchase anything is it's God awful.
- 44:42So Tav, do you have any any adjustments you want to make to
- 44:44#6 here? Oh, I'm, I'm weird.
- 44:47I have personal ones. I mean, I can't I don't care for
- 44:49at all for the mining salvage. That's just the last thing.
- 44:53I mean, I'd rather just cruise and hauling missions before
- 44:56that. But all right, I'll drop it for
- 44:57you. It's personal.
- 44:59It's personal. So I know some people absolutely
- 45:01love it. So this should be tavs answers.
- 45:04Is yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, well, Tav is I'm, I'm
- 45:07waiting Tavs. I'm we're, we're, we're, we're
- 45:09collective. That forfeited that forfeited
- 45:14the right to Tav's own answers when Tav became Tav Tav. 52
- 45:20minutes before the show started, when I told TAV we were doing
- 45:23this, he forfeited his right. Yeah.
- 45:25I was like survey. So much time for an appeal I.
- 45:29Was like, oh, you didn't do it yet.
- 45:30Great. It works, so we can do it.
- 45:34Together, but Tav Tav obviously has a final say so on the
- 45:37question 7 on the question 7 rewards, yeah, it the the
- 45:42question is just rewards. I didn't even look at.
- 45:44So OK, rewards provided for completing missions.
- 45:49It's asking you are the rewards providing for completing
- 45:53missions much too low? Too low, fine.
- 45:56Too high fucking. Hell, what the hell?
- 45:58Way too high, but I want everybody to suffer only.
- 46:03I don't know, that sounds wrong too, but I just think they're
- 46:05pretty high. You think the ward the rewards
- 46:09provided for completing missions are too high?
- 46:12Well, just with the general state of things, like, you know,
- 46:14if I can buy a really nice, you know, weapon and a nice suit of
- 46:17armor and I can get fully kitted for what, 10 Ki mean even now,
- 46:22now that we don't even risk losing the armor, the the
- 46:25currency just feels even more inflated.
- 46:29So maybe it's just, maybe it's just me and my perception of
- 46:33where the currency is right now, but I just feel like getting
- 46:35getting 150K for a mission or something is like a lot.
- 46:38I feel like. I feel like that's a lot.
- 46:40Yeah, it's a lot of money. Unless you're like killing an
- 46:43Idris, I suppose. Yeah, 'cause the ships
- 46:44themselves, I mean, I bought like a, an X85I mean, granted
- 46:47that's a little tiny, tiny ships, but and and the ships do
- 46:50scale pretty aggressively in terms of price.
- 46:53But you know, a couple missions, you know, good paying missions
- 46:58with a crew. I feel like, you know, a day
- 47:00maybe you can pick up a ship easily.
- 47:02Maybe it's that way bad design. Maybe that's good.
- 47:04I mean, maybe, you know, I don't want there to be a grind.
- 47:07Maybe I should you know I immediately see the bad side of.
- 47:10It should be a grind. Yeah, I, I mean, maybe that's
- 47:13what I say. I kind of make it suffer a
- 47:16little bit. You know.
- 47:17I always look at this from the point of view of what's the,
- 47:19the, the most expensive stuff in the game.
- 47:21And currently those are ships, right?
- 47:25And for your average player, just think about it, the, the
- 47:30way I always thought about this, this type of question is for
- 47:32your average player, you know, most, most players are, are
- 47:36probably going to be dads or they have significant others or
- 47:39they have responsibility. They're they're not going to be
- 47:41able to sit here for hours on end, but they may have an hour
- 47:44or two a night to play. And in that time, you know, how
- 47:48much should they be able to make?
- 47:52I guess. I guess that's really the truth.
- 47:53But the time of the matter? Not the more, I think.
- 47:55About it, because if you really only have amount of time, I
- 47:57guess you do need the missions to be because if you do want, I
- 48:01mean it's. A yeah, I mean, just to get.
- 48:03Saddled up, I mean, popped in with a buddy, you know, with the
- 48:05other day and it's, you know, you spend 20. 30.
- 48:09Minutes. And then there's just think
- 48:12about it, do we server hop? Like that?
- 48:14Whole conversation like just to get it going.
- 48:17Sometimes it could be 1/2. An hour, 45 minutes before you
- 48:19even attempt the first mission because I didn't make the prices
- 48:23are fine. I think.
- 48:26I think I said they were fine that one.
- 48:28They used to be worse, in my opinion, just to pay a lot
- 48:32worse, and that was it made missions feel pointless because
- 48:35you'd have to do them again and again and it just didn't matter
- 48:38before the price, price increases.
- 48:41On ships happened a couple of patches ago I would have said
- 48:44that it was too high, but now with the prices of ships being
- 48:47what they are in game, I think they're fine.
- 48:52OK, I I'm. Leaning more to the too high as
- 48:54well. Anubis, what do you think all.
- 48:59Right as I think Anubis got attacked.
- 49:01I'm sorry about that. No, no, no, I'm here.
- 49:03Last thing I heard from you was oh shit oh shit.
- 49:07Yeah, so I mixed. Two different types.
- 49:09Of spray paint together because I'm trying to blend them to get
- 49:11a particular metallic coat and fun thing about like actually
- 49:17taking spray cane out of out of a can and putting it in a jar.
- 49:20It's a lot like soda except on crack.
- 49:25So I was watching it bubble and OK, it's foaming up a little bit
- 49:29that that that's fine. I stuck a little stick in it to
- 49:31give it a little stir and the damn thing just went off like
- 49:33Krakatoa Vesuvius. It was insane.
- 49:38Like. We'll we'll skip your vote for
- 49:41this one. I.
- 49:41Suppose what? Oh.
- 49:45Are you treating me like TAV? I don't get a say.
- 49:47No, no, no. No.
- 49:50What do you think? About the rewards.
- 49:52For completing. Missions.
- 49:54I think that. Are they too?
- 49:57Low, too high, fine. I I think they're fine.
- 50:01Right now because of the time. Investment like like like wicked
- 50:04saying I I just am hoping for the day when a ship isn't the
- 50:08only thing you're going for when things are more expensive than a
- 50:12ship and they're more valuable for certain reasons than a ship.
- 50:16All right, so we're going to. We're going to go with fine.
- 50:18Because everyone said, fine, these next three I want to, I
- 50:21want to pop through these as quick as we can.
- 50:23So potential rewards for free trading much too long.
- 50:29Much too low TAV, yes. Yep.
- 50:32Yep, wicked Anubis. Low.
- 50:35Too long. Very, very low.
- 50:37Yeah, OK. Rewards for mining?
- 50:39The potential rewards for mining.
- 50:41How do we feel? Yeah, too low.
- 50:45Too low? I don't know enough.
- 50:47Info to comment. On that.
- 50:48There's a lot, there's a lot of time spent.
- 50:51To. Get set up to go mining and to
- 50:53do mining and define mining and yeah, but we make a lot of money
- 50:57mining, Yeah, but then. The refining too.
- 50:59The refining. Costs money the refining.
- 51:02Takes a lot of time. I mean, yeah, it's, it's a long
- 51:05drawn out process. Interesting.
- 51:09It's an afternoon. Activity, not a.
- 51:12You know, and it's like a it's like an all day day off after
- 51:15entire afternoon activity, not an evening.
- 51:18I got home, want to relax a while back to you're not going
- 51:21to pop in for an hour to go. Mining.
- 51:24If you're going to go mining, you're going to dedicate some
- 51:26time to and well, I pop in for an hour to go mining, but I I'm.
- 51:29In my, when I log out, I'm in my prospector and I'm in space,
- 51:33Dead Space, Yeah. So when I log back in, I'm right
- 51:36now you're, you're, you're harvesting.
- 51:38Rocks, you're not doing the whole mining loop.
- 51:41Sure I am. Are you?
- 51:44Yeah. I you get back, I refine it did.
- 51:47Did you refine it? Of course I do.
- 51:49And then there's the next time I play I.
- 51:50Just go grab it when it's convenient for me to go grab it.
- 51:53Oh, so you are I guess if it's the only thing.
- 51:55You're doing. Then OK, you know but what they
- 52:00have to change. If but.
- 52:02The thing is, if I'm. Mining.
- 52:03I'm mining for like days because because you're right.
- 52:08Because the setup is. Such like kind of a pain that
- 52:11I'm like, all right, I'm out in space with my prospector.
- 52:14Next time I log in I'm going to just do that that game loop and
- 52:17I can do it for an hour or whatever.
- 52:19This goes back to a couple of like.
- 52:21Temporary missions that we had. When we had that.
- 52:26That that event where you could mine and get a shit load of
- 52:30money for completing the mining missions basically makes all
- 52:36other mining that you that you can do nowadays pale in
- 52:39comparison. Right, 'cause the payout sucks
- 52:43I. Think that's the core?
- 52:44Core point we were trying to get at, yeah.
- 52:48So the next. One is I'm going to put too low
- 52:50for. Mining, OK, 'cause I think
- 52:52they're fine, but I, I'm, I'm with you guys, I'll put too low
- 52:56the potential rewards for salvage.
- 53:00I think that's fine. I said too low.
- 53:05Nubis that's. It's easy to do.
- 53:08You know. It's it's it's.
- 53:11It's it's. Mind numbing and if I'm going to
- 53:14be doing something that boring I would like to be able to earn
- 53:18more money because then at least it feels fine.
- 53:20Kind of like mining in Elite Dangerous.
- 53:24Boring is all heck too low. See, I think all the rewards.
- 53:29Are too high. I like this across the board
- 53:31here. I'd like all these to be moved
- 53:33over 1 to the right where like I just want more.
- 53:38I think more grind is better. Because not everyone should be
- 53:41able to work their way to a Polaris.
- 53:42That's ridiculous and stupid. Yeah, but to get to.
- 53:46To a Polaris will take unless it's a.
- 53:50Group doing it and. Then the group who's going to be
- 53:52the owner and and you know, this opens up a whole, you know, but
- 53:55a solo single player to get to a Polaris, that's an achievement
- 53:59years. You should have to play for
- 54:01years. Two years?
- 54:03Oh, I don't think so. That's what I think.
- 54:06So. That's a lot.
- 54:07That's. Kind of hard, yeah.
- 54:10It's fucking hard shit. Dude, hard game.
- 54:13OK, well, Star Trek. Online does a similar system
- 54:17where you can buy the ships. They're a lot cheaper, like 30
- 54:19bucks, and they have certain things that you can take and
- 54:23apply to other ships, but you can also earn things that you
- 54:28would pay for by completing certain things throughout the
- 54:31year. You have to participate in all
- 54:33the events. You have to do this.
- 54:34And I think a year is, I mean, I, I wouldn't say 2 years, but a
- 54:38year of dedication, making sure that you're doing your dailies
- 54:41and things like that. I could see that.
- 54:45Yeah, right. And and that's it's supposed to
- 54:48be a long term. Game so things should take long
- 54:50and then if you think about like life, like how long do you have
- 54:53to save up for anything fucking 80 years.
- 54:57Or you can just go. To highlight store or you can.
- 55:01Just put those are that's a different breed.
- 55:03You know. All right, these next few guys,
- 55:09there's a. Lot of them here.
- 55:11So we're going to pop through these OK we're just going to go
- 55:14around and each person is going to say much too low, too low,
- 55:17fine too high, much too high or no opinion.
- 55:19We're talking about the prices of of things.
- 55:24So how are the prices of FPS weapons?
- 55:26Hobo fine, Drake. Fine.
- 55:31Anubis too low? Wicket fine, I think.
- 55:38Fine's good. Ammunition.
- 55:41Hobo fine tab. On.
- 55:45Anubis. Way too.
- 55:48Low compared to the with the guns cost.
- 55:51Interesting wicket, fine. We're going to put fine I mean
- 55:56low end compared to the guns cost.
- 55:57I would also yeah, the. Dust seal.
- 55:59Anyway, keep going. How do you feel about the prices
- 56:02the in? Game prices of ships and
- 56:04vehicles hobo too low. Tav.
- 56:10Too low Anubis. Too low.
- 56:14Wicked. Way too high.
- 56:17The ships are way too high, yeah.
- 56:21You're you're way out. You're way out of the crowd.
- 56:24With this one dude, well if you can buy it with cash money in
- 56:26the real. World then, and then you're
- 56:29forcing people to, you know, pay these exorbitant prices.
- 56:32I think they're too low. They're too high.
- 56:35The prices of ships are too high.
- 56:36In the game, because people have to pay.
- 56:38I understand, you know if you want to make it a.
- 56:42Even playing field. Yeah, if you want to make.
- 56:44It even playing field. Very interesting.
- 56:48That's a very interesting. Take dude, I don't know how I.
- 56:52Don't know how to feel but. I'm going to stick with too low
- 56:55because you haven't quite changed my mind, but you, you're
- 56:58making me think if it is. If anyone changes their mind,
- 57:01speak now, OK? The price.
- 57:05The prices of ship. Or vehicle weapons.
- 57:08They're swipers. They're never going to change.
- 57:11Hobo. Too.
- 57:13Low tab it's fine. Fine Anubis too low.
- 57:21Wicket. Fine.
- 57:23We're going to go with fine because TABS has double the
- 57:27weight of everybody. Prices of ship and vehicle
- 57:30consumables. The price of Cruise Lux much too
- 57:34low. Much too low.
- 57:37Much too low. There's like no pain the fuel.
- 57:40There's no pain, no. Pain point to fly somewhere and
- 57:45that would increase. You know.
- 57:47But. It's true.
- 57:51It's basically free honestly. Consumables are basically free.
- 57:55I mean, if we're going to be talking about that like.
- 57:57The price of Cruise Lux We do need to note that these days are
- 58:01tough. The economy's down, ace, UPS
- 58:03down, and even region. When everything seems to be
- 58:06down, you can count on Cruise Lux to pick you up with 20% SLAM
- 58:09by volume. Lux gives you the power to push
- 58:12past the hard parts and make this day your day.
- 58:15Cruise Lux give no fucks. Give no fucks responsibly.
- 58:19Your clone must be 20. Minutes or older not legal on
- 58:23monarchs or Aberdeen. How do you feel about the price
- 58:29of ship vehicles and ordinances? Missiles and torpedoes and shit,
- 58:34that one. 'S hard because when you're
- 58:36talking. 36 mil for like out loading an interest fine.
- 58:43Yeah, it's imbalanced. Yeah, it's.
- 58:44Fine. Perfect, Tav.
- 58:47Yeah, yeah. No problem.
- 58:49All right, prices of clothing. They're what?
- 58:54Irrelevant. Irrelevant.
- 58:56OK, prices. Of.
- 58:57Commodities way, way too low these needs to.
- 59:01Go way higher. Interesting commodities.
- 59:05That that would be Cruise. Lugs.
- 59:08I would say exact opposite. But so question #9 in the survey
- 59:15they want to know about. Your favorite loot items.
- 59:17That's it right there. These are things.
- 59:19You're going to find in the in the trash.
- 59:21I've automatically put commodities to #1 No, it should
- 59:24be #7 should be number. One consumables.
- 59:27I've automatically put consumables.
- 59:29To #1 very good. OK, I understand.
- 59:32I I knew what was happening. Taft, do you anything on this
- 59:36list that you want to? My favorite would be.
- 59:39FPS attachments OK, but that's probably just me.
- 59:43Again, what? Well.
- 59:46That's my top 2 or. 3. FBS Attachments.
- 59:49Yeah, it's always my favorite to find those.
- 59:53And then you get that cool little laser sight and
- 59:55different. Colors and then it doesn't work,
- 59:58but you know, it's fun finding it.
- 1:00:01It was definitely. High on my.
- 1:00:02List that with FBS. Weapons and armor and ship
- 1:00:06components are really cool. Well, they used to be, before
- 1:00:09they kind of got thrown off the deep end for reasons.
- 1:00:17All right. Do you have anything else you
- 1:00:19want to? Switch from #9 No.
- 1:00:21We're good, all right question #10.
- 1:00:23How? Long should a system wide event
- 1:00:26affect the in game economy after its conclusion or ever.
- 1:00:33How? What by?
- 1:00:34What metric? How do you measure?
- 1:00:36That I know I had the same problem with this question
- 1:00:38because. If it's I want the economy by
- 1:00:41the dynamics of forever, but at the same time a dynamic economy
- 1:00:45will bounce back eventually anyway.
- 1:00:47So like a week forever until something else.
- 1:00:50Effects it and then that's forever until something that's
- 1:00:53cause and effect. That's why I say it forever.
- 1:00:55I don't think that's how forever works, but the question is
- 1:00:57pretty. Bad anyway.
- 1:01:00Well, how? No, that's what they mean,
- 1:01:02right? Obviously like if I drop off too
- 1:01:06much gold it's a dumb question, but the.
- 1:01:10The only real way to answer that would be forever until something
- 1:01:13else is the new forever until something else changes the, the,
- 1:01:17the, the state. In other words, you know,
- 1:01:20somebody finds a giant patch of quantanium.
- 1:01:24Now they've, they've loaded up the market.
- 1:01:26So now, now that's the new forever.
- 1:01:28Or somebody finds a bunch of gold or whatever the case may be
- 1:01:33and that now. Or there's a new event that
- 1:01:35floods the market with Idris engine parts or some shit.
- 1:01:39Who knows? I mean, I'm just making up
- 1:01:41random bullshit right now, but you get the point.
- 1:01:44Yeah, I mean. Looking at that, I mean.
- 1:01:47The the. Way that's.
- 1:01:48Worded, it's kind of like, OK, how long?
- 1:01:52I mean, should people be flush with cash, you know, like like
- 1:01:56doing the delivery missions and making 100 million, making 120
- 1:02:01things like that? How long you know, because does
- 1:02:04that change the way people play? Are they not engaging in certain
- 1:02:07things? And I get that part, but like.
- 1:02:11How would they? Fix that, you know, and how,
- 1:02:14what, what would they do to make sure that they hit that target
- 1:02:18of six months, that it's only going to affect things for six
- 1:02:21months or, or or a month? Like do they have balances in
- 1:02:24play or they get a wipe that's too much control.
- 1:02:27On on that. That's not an economy.
- 1:02:29That's basically almost like socialism or communism.
- 1:02:34No. No, Some kind of.
- 1:02:36ISM. It should be forever until
- 1:02:39something else is the new, forever until there's a new
- 1:02:41driver, you know, but you have to in in order for something
- 1:02:44like that to even work, you have to have sinks and faucets.
- 1:02:47Sinks and faucets you got to exactly, you know, and then a
- 1:02:52new faucet comes along and the forever has changed to something
- 1:02:56else or a new sink has come along.
- 1:02:58And, and so it's constantly, the forever is always changing.
- 1:03:02But it shouldn't be, it shouldn't be artificially like,
- 1:03:06OK, a new event comes along and now the, the, the, the, let's
- 1:03:15say Karna ammunition. Let's say Karna is still a good
- 1:03:19gun. And let's say Karna ammunition
- 1:03:21is, is, is now $1000 per clip for whatever reason.
- 1:03:29And now something comes along that makes the the, you know,
- 1:03:34all of a sudden there's a run on Karma Karna ammo, and
- 1:03:37everybody's trying to sell their Karna ammo because of selling
- 1:03:39for so much. But then in a week's time,
- 1:03:42somebody realizes, oh, the Karna sucks, the C54IS a good weapon
- 1:03:45to have. So now nobody's buying Karna
- 1:03:48ammo anymore, so the price automatically goes back down.
- 1:03:51It shouldn't be meta chasing. It shouldn't.
- 1:03:54Be it shouldn't be artificially. Changed after after a given
- 1:03:58amount of time, it should just be organically and change on its
- 1:04:02own based on based on market factors and and the system as a
- 1:04:07whole. So forever is the answer.
- 1:04:12Well, I. Mean I I I'm thinking that
- 1:04:14they're. Asking, hey, when should we
- 1:04:16implement things that that that? Well, no, I mean like like
- 1:04:22you're saying, when should they implement a sink to help start
- 1:04:25draining that excess cash that has accumulated?
- 1:04:30They shouldn't implement anything.
- 1:04:31It should, naturally. Occur.
- 1:04:33In other words, a new event happens or there's a new
- 1:04:37economic driver that causes it to organically change.
- 1:04:41But no, that's what I mean. Somebody doesn't come.
- 1:04:43Along and fix the price. That OK Karna ammo isn't 1000
- 1:04:47anymore. Now it's 2:50.
- 1:04:50That should never happen. After six months or a.
- 1:04:52Week or whatever it should just should be forever at 1000 until
- 1:04:56nobody's buying it and it comes down naturally yeah and I'm and.
- 1:05:00I'm thinking of things like power play like they.
- 1:05:02Had an elite where there's literally no reason why I should
- 1:05:06fight for this system to be under one power or another, but
- 1:05:09being able to now claim it for them and sync those resources.
- 1:05:12And there's kind of the the things I'm thinking of that they
- 1:05:15would implement and, and, and, you know, are, are they looking
- 1:05:19to see how often they space those things out with this
- 1:05:22question is what I'm asking. You know, like the that's what
- 1:05:25it that's the only thing I can I can think of.
- 1:05:28Hold that hold that thought an elite because.
- 1:05:30That's I had I actually mentioned that game in this
- 1:05:34survey at the end and that's how I was thinking also like about
- 1:05:38this question too I. Don't know for me.
- 1:05:42For me, you kind of nailed it, Tav.
- 1:05:44It is your survey question #10 how long should a system wide
- 1:05:48event affect the in game economy?
- 1:05:51Oh, I mean, I, Yeah. I'm kind of with, with you all,
- 1:05:54not forever, right? I mean, that's ideally, ideally
- 1:05:57forever, but I know there's balance issues and you know, so.
- 1:06:03Tav #11, do you currently engage?
- 1:06:05In or have interest in free trade using your own UEC to buy
- 1:06:09goods at one location and sell them for profit.
- 1:06:13Does anyone not Easy peasy I. Don't care until.
- 1:06:18It actually matters. Yeah, right.
- 1:06:22That's the other. Part of this So when trading,
- 1:06:25how do you balance risk and profit potential?
- 1:06:31This could be an. Interesting one.
- 1:06:32Let's start with. Hobo here.
- 1:06:35Oh, this is. Different.
- 1:06:37They updated the. Survey This was not on.
- 1:06:39My survey No. No so when training at.
- 1:06:45Some point. How do you balance risk?
- 1:06:47And profit. Potential Do you strongly prefer
- 1:06:50safe and low profit routes? Somewhat prefer safe and low
- 1:06:54profit routes. No preference or somewhat prefer
- 1:06:57riskier routes or strongly prefer risky high profit routes.
- 1:07:01I have a dumbfounded look on my face for a couple.
- 1:07:03Reasons or not to gank? It's like I would probably take
- 1:07:11the somewhat. Prefer safe, low profit.
- 1:07:16Routes I guess. Interesting.
- 1:07:19Tav, what do you do? I'm just on the other side of
- 1:07:23that, no. Preference, but somewhat prefers
- 1:07:25risky. Interesting, Anubis.
- 1:07:28And wicked. I'm strongly prefer risky.
- 1:07:32High profit routes. There's a whole reason now to
- 1:07:36fly with friends and share some of.
- 1:07:39Yeah exactly. Yep.
- 1:07:42Some of the most. Fun I've had was.
- 1:07:44Being completely loaded up with way too much money on my on my
- 1:07:48ship and getting pulled out of warp.
- 1:07:54They disable me. They actually bored me and shoot
- 1:07:57me, man, shoot me FPS as as I'm trying to as I'm trying to get
- 1:08:02away from them. That was fun.
- 1:08:03And and that is if I'm going to lose things, I'd rather lose it
- 1:08:07to that than a glitch. So how much fun?
- 1:08:11Have we had over the over the years heading down to Brios to
- 1:08:16drop off XYZ to, to sell at the kiosk and all the shenanigans
- 1:08:22that came out of that? Oh yeah, that's high risk, high
- 1:08:27reward. All right, I'm I'm actually.
- 1:08:30With hobo on this so I'm going to stick with tabs answer OK,
- 1:08:34because it because it's his so it's tabs.
- 1:08:36It's somewhat risky high profit routes.
- 1:08:39Yeah, question 13 This one threw me for a loop.
- 1:08:43OK, this is different too. I didn't have this one.
- 1:08:46Re in really OK, Nope. I didn't have this whole page.
- 1:08:50Interesting. What is the most?
- 1:08:53Profitable. Commodity for you to trade among
- 1:08:57the following. Also Ian hides.
- 1:09:00I've never even. I don't know what that is.
- 1:09:01You don't do what that is. That's a screwed up stuff.
- 1:09:04Yeah. Cargo container that comes on
- 1:09:07the ships. Of the MPC cargo carriers and
- 1:09:11you could take it to to sell it used to be super high value it's
- 1:09:17interesting it's. It's it's it's.
- 1:09:19Their skins. But that species is sentient or
- 1:09:22sapient. Sorry.
- 1:09:24Oh, really? Yeah, it's really.
- 1:09:26Bad. What?
- 1:09:28I've never seen these in the game.
- 1:09:30A Zoe and hide. So they're like, these are this
- 1:09:32is like, they're like a, they're like a.
- 1:09:35Aren't the hides? That tear above the the the
- 1:09:37Weevil legs as far. As yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:44They're very rare. They're very.
- 1:09:46Rare. We hardly.
- 1:09:47I hardly ever saw those back in the day.
- 1:09:50What's an Azoian look like? They wear purple.
- 1:09:56A. Multi limb insectoid race and
- 1:10:04they use pattern flashes of color to communicate and well
- 1:10:12the wiki says. Ozoians are covered in a.
- 1:10:14Coarse spiky fur to catch water to counteract the planet's high
- 1:10:19gravity. Its powerful legs are the
- 1:10:22species largest appendage. They connect to the body at what
- 1:10:25would be the shoulder on a human.
- 1:10:28Forearms extend from the torso. The top 2 much more developed
- 1:10:32than the lower pair. Like Sebulba, right?
- 1:10:36Yeah, it's Sebulba from Star Wars.
- 1:10:38They have 6. Eyes of varying sizes on an
- 1:10:41almost bug like head. They're the sebulbas.
- 1:10:45That's great. Well.
- 1:10:46Fucking. Fuck Sebulba.
- 1:10:49So and they've been skinned and put in a cargo.
- 1:10:52Container and now you. Can loot it, yeah.
- 1:10:54Yeah. I don't know anyone.
- 1:10:55Else from Sebulba. 'S race, so it's those.
- 1:10:58Slimmos, the race is. The Doug.
- 1:11:01Dougs, Doug. You have a Doug.
- 1:11:04All right, so what's the most profitable?
- 1:11:06Commodity. For you to trade among the
- 1:11:07following. So they're asking us.
- 1:11:10So it's obviously Azoian Heights, but nobody knew this.
- 1:11:13This is such a weird question because wouldn't they know
- 1:11:17what's the most profitable commodity?
- 1:11:20Maybe what is it? How they test?
- 1:11:21Who's taking the survey? Again, this is this.
- 1:11:25They don't. Even trade.
- 1:11:26This is the temperature. Track question.
- 1:11:28It's simple. I agree with the wicked here.
- 1:11:30This is. Not a they.
- 1:11:32They know this. They're just judging.
- 1:11:34There's not a right or a lot of these are.
- 1:11:35There's no right. Or wrong.
- 1:11:37This one is though this one definitely has the right answer.
- 1:11:40Yes, yeah. So I.
- 1:11:43Didn't answer this one. I skipped.
- 1:11:44I skipped. These, I mean, I mean honestly,
- 1:11:49like. They should just.
- 1:11:51Know to just improve that part. Too, for players to be aware of
- 1:11:55these things themselves and they've made strides in it.
- 1:11:57But like, I don't see how this is relevant.
- 1:12:01I mean, you didn't have any of these questions.
- 1:12:02Didn't you? I.
- 1:12:04Didn't have these at all. I didn't either.
- 1:12:07That's wild. Maybe.
- 1:12:07They're adding Azoian. Hides more prominently in the
- 1:12:11game. No, I think they screwed up and
- 1:12:13they the. The initial link was incomplete
- 1:12:16and they finally they completed it.
- 1:12:18Yeah, because it's the same link.
- 1:12:20Yeah, I guess you could do the. Survey again.
- 1:12:25How did you determine? The above.
- 1:12:27Selection is the most profitable.
- 1:12:29So we're saying, oh, Zoe and Heights are the most profitable
- 1:12:31because they are. Now how did we determine that?
- 1:12:33By checking the trading information, by asking other
- 1:12:36players. We asked other players.
- 1:12:38We we we literally did this in right.
- 1:12:40Now so I decided it myself. Universe bends to my will, so 15
- 1:12:48is dragon. Rank the following features.
- 1:12:50In order of importance for a shop kiosk, an item kiosk or
- 1:12:54shop for most important or least important, I guess we're to have
- 1:13:00in stock. Oh God, price trends like.
- 1:13:03Price needs to change. Yeah, overwhelmingly.
- 1:13:07Price is such an important part. Of an economy.
- 1:13:12What about buy, sell location? Best Buy low so I put that like.
- 1:13:18Yeah, I think you. Got to get get something like
- 1:13:20that up in. There, you know, up in #2.
- 1:13:23I put it high up there just because not everybody.
- 1:13:25Knows to like the game, doesn't tell you to get on.
- 1:13:29I don't know what's the the the all the various stars and apps
- 1:13:32to look at the prices of. It'd be nice to have.
- 1:13:36That information in the. Game it'd be cool for one of
- 1:13:38those economy boards with all the.
- 1:13:40Charts and numbers on it had actual charts and numbers.
- 1:13:43Yeah, and you should be able to search.
- 1:13:46For even a commodity that's not sold at that location, not just
- 1:13:50be able to see where it sells more or less, but like also you
- 1:13:55could see things that aren't sold there.
- 1:13:57So you go, oh crap, I'm at the wrong place.
- 1:13:59Where is it? And you could be able to search
- 1:14:00that in game. So what are out to on the
- 1:14:03bottom? Here these are all pretty.
- 1:14:08I don't care about item popularity yet.
- 1:14:11Recent transactions. Sure.
- 1:14:14Put that at the bottom like OK. So dragon rank the.
- 1:14:19Following features in order of importance.
- 1:14:20For an admin commodity trading kiosk from an admin.
- 1:14:25So this is different, it's an admin.
- 1:14:27But when I answered this I just copied what I did.
- 1:14:30The above question I would just copy is hang on a. 2nd.
- 1:14:36OK, so we will just copy. What we did there, Best Buy
- 1:14:42locations, what's our first one price?
- 1:14:44Trends is #1. There we go.
- 1:14:47All right, so we're almost done with the survey.
- 1:14:49We have three questions left on the Star Citizen economy.
- 1:14:54Feedback. Survey, I want to thank you all
- 1:14:56for coming in and joining Open Comms Radio and helping us
- 1:15:00answer this. And if you're out there and you.
- 1:15:02Haven't answered the survey. Go answer it.
- 1:15:06All right, Go do a favor. Wicca was right.
- 1:15:09They're asking for your opinion. I mean, come on, you're you're
- 1:15:13going to write it on Spectrum or open or what?
- 1:15:18I was at blue sky, God forbid around the.
- 1:15:21Other. The other.
- 1:15:23Platforms, by the way, to have I.
- 1:15:25Want to talk to you? I think we should.
- 1:15:27Start posting this on Rumble. No, no, no, no.
- 1:15:33Truth. True social.
- 1:15:35I think. I.
- 1:15:37Just think we would be well. Received I will boycott the
- 1:15:41show. Larger Listen, listen.
- 1:15:45Never mind, I'm not even going to.
- 1:15:47Say you know what? It's a.
- 1:15:47Star Citizen podcast. I'm sorry, I did.
- 1:15:49That sorry OK #17 which of the following ways should other
- 1:15:54players actions influence prices in in game shops for all
- 1:16:00players? This is a dumb question, but
- 1:16:02it's a. Check mark box so you can check
- 1:16:05them all or. Uncheck them all.
- 1:16:06So which of the following ways should other players actions
- 1:16:09influence the prices in in game shops?
- 1:16:11Should piracy influence the prices?
- 1:16:13Should free trading? Should Luton salvage the system
- 1:16:16wide events? Should hauling?
- 1:16:17Yeah. I mean, yeah, I think that's
- 1:16:19question hauling missions. That's the only one I didn't.
- 1:16:21Check. Really.
- 1:16:23No, I think it should. Elite Dangerous.
- 1:16:26We can. Talk about it now.
- 1:16:29This is the You flood that station.
- 1:16:30You flood that station. With like a whole bunch of
- 1:16:32Atrusia dachshund and the price goes down, you know, I mean,
- 1:16:36totally, of course. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:16:37But missions I'm talking about like.
- 1:16:39The missions that everyone has to take, I think even those as
- 1:16:43well, yeah. OK.
- 1:16:46So I mean, what's the? Point of it 'cause you, you,
- 1:16:48you. Get the mission because there's
- 1:16:49no medical supplies on Port Tressler and Port Tressler needs
- 1:16:54them so you get a delivery to send medical supplies.
- 1:16:57Somebody buys all of the, you know, cruise Lux on port, God
- 1:17:03forbid, right? And then they're like, then an
- 1:17:07order automatically goes out for a shipment of cruise locks to
- 1:17:11port wrestler and you have to deliver them.
- 1:17:13Yeah. If we're talking that way, sure.
- 1:17:1718 Dragon rank. The following ways you'd be most
- 1:17:20excited to spend excess in game UEC, from most appealing to
- 1:17:26least appealing. So how do you want to?
- 1:17:29Spend your UEC. In game, on survival mechanics,
- 1:17:34on unlockable experiences, they say, like missions, locations,
- 1:17:38narrative content, on skins, on luxury or novelty.
- 1:17:43Items. Like rare collectibles, branded
- 1:17:45goods or vanity items? Or would you want to spend your
- 1:17:48UEC on emotes and social gestures?
- 1:17:51Let's start with hobo. What's what's?
- 1:17:53Your top. Two, my top two were unlockable.
- 1:17:56Experiences and skins and visual customization.
- 1:18:01Interesting TAV, what are your top 2?
- 1:18:03I go with that exact same top. Two Anubis?
- 1:18:09Yep, and. Wicket.
- 1:18:13Emotes and social gestures. That's in your top two, no?
- 1:18:19OK. Thank goodness dude, because
- 1:18:21that was my. Bottom.
- 1:18:23That was my bottom also total. At the very bottom I think I
- 1:18:27put. If I remember correctly, I.
- 1:18:29Put in skins 1st and novelty, luxury or novelty items the
- 1:18:35second. Yeah, so I swapped luxury.
- 1:18:39Novelty items and skins. I had luxury and novelty items a
- 1:18:42second and skins is fourth because I don't know, I just
- 1:18:47feel like once I get the skin I want, I'm not going to change
- 1:18:49it. That's fair.
- 1:18:52Well, what if? Something better new?
- 1:18:53That you like. Better comes along.
- 1:18:55Yeah, maybe, but that doesn't happen often.
- 1:18:58Like in just in my experience base decor.
- 1:19:01And armor. Yeah, base decor.
- 1:19:03Maybe I just didn't read it. I think we're we're a lot of.
- 1:19:07These games really miss the mark as far as skins go is skins are
- 1:19:12kind of meaningless because they're all the same.
- 1:19:16You know, once you have that one skin that everybody has, that
- 1:19:19everybody has it, how unique are you anymore?
- 1:19:22Are you going to be unique because you mix and matched?
- 1:19:25It with some other. BS, but being able to really
- 1:19:29customize skins that's I mean, I that to me would be like the
- 1:19:34Holy Grail, because people will fight over shit like that.
- 1:19:39You know, just you just look at our discord, how many people
- 1:19:41post what their shit looks like and their players, their their
- 1:19:44character looks like and and stuff people people really dig
- 1:19:48that kind of stuff. Vinyl decals of your.
- 1:19:52Org on your. Armor, you know like got 9 tails
- 1:19:56right? Cool with 10 tails here look
- 1:19:58boom that you could put it on your armor.
- 1:20:00Well, that shit, you might. You buy it once.
- 1:20:03What I'm 1 of what I'm thinking is.
- 1:20:05Like, you know, the armor kind of is all same same, but what if
- 1:20:08you could mix and match color swatches on different parts of
- 1:20:12the armor and modify it that way so you can come up with unique
- 1:20:17looks. You know, somebody maybe come
- 1:20:19along and copy it, but initially it's your look.
- 1:20:23I mean, I'd like to do it. I mean.
- 1:20:26They're they're trying to make. GTA Online.
- 1:20:28In space. So why not have low Stanton
- 1:20:32customs? They have, isn't it, cousin?
- 1:20:38Crows, they have it. They got cousin crows.
- 1:20:41Yeah, but. There's always a ship.
- 1:20:43Inside of Cousin Crows. That is like up on blocks
- 1:20:45getting work on. So we're we're coming to the end
- 1:20:50of this. Survey we're coming to the end
- 1:20:52of the show. It's our last question and the
- 1:20:55last question they gave us was an open-ended question.
- 1:20:58It's tell us your ideal Star Citizen fantasy, and then in in
- 1:21:03parentheses it says NSFW. Can I?
- 1:21:08What would you? Can I say what I what?
- 1:21:12I I wrote it down, I have it. Ready to go?
- 1:21:14OK, I'm here for it. Yeah, go for it.
- 1:21:16So what I wrote was. Complete and total immersion, no
- 1:21:21need for third party apps. In game voice and chat features
- 1:21:24keep me in the game and everything works seamless.
- 1:21:28Seamlessly coordinate with my Guild to organize and deploy
- 1:21:31multiple teams across our area of Operation Harvest and collect
- 1:21:36resources that allow us to build our home in the Verse and defend
- 1:21:39it against all hostiles. Make everything we do in game
- 1:21:43matter and meaningful to some extent.
- 1:21:47And I put as an aside, look at games like Awakening.
- 1:21:51While DA doesn't have near the fidelity of SC, it's extremely
- 1:21:56fun to play. Feel like everything I do in
- 1:21:58that game matters. I want, I want to be clear.
- 1:22:02Dare I say I need to log into DEA?
- 1:22:05Do an Awakening while SC is currently an afterthought?
- 1:22:09That's what I wrote in that spot.
- 1:22:13I don't have the same I. Haven't played as much Dune as
- 1:22:16you but I don't have the same opinion that I don't feel like
- 1:22:19everything in Dune is meaningful.
- 1:22:24We can talk about that later, but I I wouldn't want them to
- 1:22:30just make like a because Dune. It's a good survival game, but
- 1:22:34that's because you've avoided most of the.
- 1:22:36Game that's why I've avoided a lot of it.
- 1:22:38Yeah. So that's.
- 1:22:39Why you feel that way? I might, yeah.
- 1:22:43That's. Fair.
- 1:22:43OK, I bought IA 100. I'm 100% with you, dude.
- 1:22:47On on on that. That's close to kind of the the
- 1:22:52vibe I had a new, I mean, let's face it.
- 1:22:58The the the. The Star.
- 1:22:59Citizen has some of the best game fidelity that is currently
- 1:23:02available out there, no question and and if we.
- 1:23:05Can leverage some of these. Other things from some from
- 1:23:08other experiences that I've had recently, it would be like
- 1:23:13these. I wouldn't.
- 1:23:13I would have. No reason to go.
- 1:23:15Anywhere else, that's all I'm saying.
- 1:23:18Sorry. Go ahead, Anubis.
- 1:23:21My ideal. Starfit is a fantasy.
- 1:23:26So there I was on the bridge of the Idris.
- 1:23:29We had just taken it after Zeno threat, right?
- 1:23:32And Rowena Dooley walks in and she's like, I got to thank you
- 1:23:36for how much you've helped Stanton, right?
- 1:23:39And we just lock eyes, you know, just just, you know, that the
- 1:23:42connection, you know? The the question involved UEC.
- 1:23:52And if you had infinite all the items just to just to.
- 1:23:56Put some guide rails on that. You know if if I.
- 1:24:02Had everything he wants to have a romance under.
- 1:24:06Duress. OK.
- 1:24:07Moving on. No, I mean.
- 1:24:10If I had everything, I. Mean.
- 1:24:12It comes down to PvP at that point because right now having
- 1:24:15everything you know, I mean, that's all you.
- 1:24:19Can do if. If you don't want for anything,
- 1:24:22it's just competition against others, so that's close.
- 1:24:26To what I sort of. Put is that I wanted.
- 1:24:28To build out my own little properties in the org and help
- 1:24:33others. Yep.
- 1:24:38Tab. What about you?
- 1:24:41You're a servant. I.
- 1:24:43I just want the. Exploration, I mean the Ideally
- 1:24:47it'd be nice to have a just to go somewhere anywhere, you know
- 1:24:52pick a direction you see a nebula, planet, just different
- 1:24:55stuff that and you know not have it be the event that everybody.
- 1:25:00Knows about somebody. 'S already been there run it
- 1:25:03several times just anything the more organic they can make this
- 1:25:06game where you can just hop in and then just discover some
- 1:25:10crazy stuff would be that's that star on the left got.
- 1:25:14It exactly photo. Competition.
- 1:25:18With prizes. Landscape.
- 1:25:25I mean, they're not really. Prominent.
- 1:25:29It's. Special it's on spectrum so tab
- 1:25:35I put I just want the exploration I.
- 1:25:37Want to go somewhere and go somewhere organically?
- 1:25:41Yes. I mean, you'll have like, you
- 1:25:44know? They'll be I like.
- 1:25:46The idea of the lawless area, I mean they they've already got
- 1:25:48kind of the lower there. They just I have to randomize.
- 1:25:52Things you know. I, I feel like the more random
- 1:25:57events that you can make just, I'm not afraid of RNG if it
- 1:26:02creates all sorts of different scenarios.
- 1:26:04So, and they've got some of that.
- 1:26:06I just think it's, I'm really hoping it's the start or first
- 1:26:11layer of the onion, so to speak, but we'll see that we're getting
- 1:26:15complexity in some of these events.
- 1:26:17I just want all of it. All right, well, I'm going to
- 1:26:22submit this. On your behalf to Avrose, fire
- 1:26:25away. You are submitted.
- 1:26:29I hope you feel feel good about that.
- 1:26:33I feel like a participant in the.
- 1:26:36Community, what I'm talking about.
- 1:26:39Yeah. That's what we need, community.
- 1:26:43You know, I, I. Think it stays like.
- 1:26:46This where we all shine as star citizens.
- 1:26:53Yeah. You, whatever.
- 1:26:55Man, you know. Thanks for the ad read.
- 1:26:59But get out. All right.
- 1:27:05Well, that's. That that's, I mean, that's it
- 1:27:07for the. Show.
- 1:27:07That's it for I've said my piece today.
- 1:27:12Other than oh, I'm sorry, no, we do have one.
- 1:27:14We do have one. Something to say, and it's from
- 1:27:18Duke Lado. Oh, I almost forgot this.
- 1:27:21So, Duke. Lado said he said it before and
- 1:27:25he'll say it again. More windows.
- 1:27:31Oh yeah. That was, I think he.
- 1:27:33Referenced what was it a Reddit post or something?
- 1:27:36Somebody fixed their but what I say.
- 1:27:41And MSR. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:27:43That's what it was. Yeah, so I think 100% a hundred
- 1:27:47from what I've heard from him. Man if.
- 1:27:49Duke's fantasy is just to have a ship with windows.
- 1:27:53I mean, you're in a space. Game you should be able to see
- 1:27:55space. Get a Connie Phenix and join the
- 1:27:58club. We got Windows, yeah.
- 1:28:01But yeah, more windows in a spaceship.
- 1:28:04Is the worst thing you could. Do that's just easy point of
- 1:28:08failure. No, the windows are
- 1:28:11structurally. More sound than the hull.
- 1:28:14Next you're going to say putting the bridge.
- 1:28:16On the top of the enterprise, just like on a Spire, was a
- 1:28:20mistake. Like, come on, now you're
- 1:28:22talking crazy. You're putting it in the middle
- 1:28:25of the circle. It's like the bull's eye.
- 1:28:27Oh, where do I shoot this ship? It's right there in the middle
- 1:28:30of the circle. Standing out right there.
- 1:28:32I see it. It's outlined.
- 1:28:35It looks cool. All.
- 1:28:38Right. Well, this was this was.
- 1:28:40We could call it the big. Economy.
- 1:28:41Show we could, we won't. But we.
- 1:28:44Could the gig? Economy Show.
- 1:28:48Oh, that's good. That's good.
- 1:28:51Now I. End of shows like these, I like
- 1:28:54to end it with a little question for all of our our guests.
- 1:28:57Our first guest today was Cosmic Kobo.
- 1:28:59Cosmic Kobo. Is there anything you want to
- 1:29:01say to CIG, Chris Roberts, or the people on the Internet?
- 1:29:05I'll keep it the end of the show.
- 1:29:07This time please give. US a dynamic economy, please.
- 1:29:14Indeed, supply demand. Lord Anubis.
- 1:29:18Anything you want to say to CIG, Chris Roberts or the people and
- 1:29:21Internet for the love of. God plagiarized Star Wars
- 1:29:26Galaxies old economy. Just do it and and hurry up.
- 1:29:30But that clod or ChatGPT, whatever you use, just just do
- 1:29:34it. No, don't.
- 1:29:36Don't use chat. GPT everybody does.
- 1:29:39That's yeah, that's why. Shit's not just.
- 1:29:41Hallucinating some bullshit. Things are not moving forward
- 1:29:47the way I'd like though. Or programming it's.
- 1:29:51The only point where it's actually really great because it
- 1:29:54could take six months to turn it into a week.
- 1:29:58That's the. Only.
- 1:29:59Everything else it. Just steals humanity, but that
- 1:30:02particular thing, it's a great tool.
- 1:30:04Yeah, Yeah, I think that makes. Sense I've been.
- 1:30:07Using it for like scripting and stuff.
- 1:30:08Anyway, whatever Wicket. Anything you want to say to CIG,
- 1:30:11Chris Roberts or the people on the Internet?
- 1:30:14Yes, of course. Now I recently watched the ISC
- 1:30:19and at the end they shared their vision for the loot screen and
- 1:30:24inventory management and all like UI changes.
- 1:30:28Don't let that take a year or two.
- 1:30:31That should be implemented like yesterday.
- 1:30:33Bro. Yes, please.
- 1:30:37Can I emphasize? I'm going to clip that.
- 1:30:40That needs to be like, I'm going to clip that.
- 1:30:44Everyone hears that share. It and shout it on the rooftops
- 1:30:50100%. I did that, I get called the
- 1:30:52cops. On me.
- 1:30:55Tav anything you want to say to CIG Chris?
- 1:30:57Roberts or the people on Internet?
- 1:31:00I don't ask you that. I don't.
- 1:31:01Ask you that. I yeah, no, OK.
- 1:31:04Yeah, yeah. No, you can answer it, but like
- 1:31:06I don't traditionally. He is asking, I guess I'll, I
- 1:31:10guess. This time.
- 1:31:12The I feel like. Ship names.
- 1:31:15If you sold them in game for alpha AUC, let people name their
- 1:31:19ships. It would be so cool make it a
- 1:31:22decal on the Dang texture like and then everybody could name
- 1:31:27their ship something and I think that would add a lot to the
- 1:31:29game. Like like they currently have
- 1:31:33where the name is. So tiny you got to be like up
- 1:31:37eyeball width. Yeah, but give it to everybody
- 1:31:39instead of like the. 6 ships it's on now and if you paid X
- 1:31:43amount I mean a real dog just like just give it to everybody
- 1:31:45but you can't even see the name without the you.
- 1:31:48Have to be like right on. Top of the ship.
- 1:31:50To see the name shows up on. Scans does it.
- 1:31:56Yeah. I mean Sig's.
- 1:31:58Aversion to. Allowing people to identify that
- 1:32:01there is another human that they're playing a massively
- 1:32:03multiplayer online game with is really crazy.
- 1:32:06Honestly, the they they so are. Missing the boat on chip
- 1:32:11customizations, armor customizations, there's Oh yeah,
- 1:32:15they're, they're too busy. If they want to monetize, that's
- 1:32:18that's where they would. They think they made a lot of
- 1:32:21money on selling ships. Customize them.
- 1:32:26Yeah. I mean, you see how Schweetz?
- 1:32:29Any gotcha game? Any gotcha game out there?
- 1:32:32Is perfect there's look man, we can we can only fucking.
- 1:32:41Tell them the obvious so many times.
- 1:32:45I think that's the. Real frustration with this quiz.
- 1:32:48Or survey in the end look jar jar's ship has.
- 1:32:53A name. It's called the Joe.
- 1:32:55No, that's sheets. I don't have a fucking.
- 1:32:57Drake dude, fuck Drake. Fuck Drake.
- 1:33:02Also the shit the. Drake ships in the game.
- 1:33:06Drake. Hold up, why would you be?
- 1:33:10Talking bad about Drake, right? Now that's.
- 1:33:17It's. It's 22 episodes.
- 1:33:20Do you make some response? Yeah, they are they.
- 1:33:23Sent over a They sent over a commercial.
- 1:33:27Oh, that was Drake. Wash it off first.
- 1:33:30No, no. No Well, TA, we did it 22
- 1:33:34episodes. 21 it's done. All right.
- 1:33:38Tab is Thank you for joining us this evening.
- 1:33:42Done, done, done. Done, done, done.
