Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: All right. Well, earlier tonight on Shake it Off with
- 0:02Speaker 1: Mert and Lucas, I got the chance to rant about
- 0:06Speaker 1: Governor Gavin Newsom, who earlier this week told Ice, hey,
- 0:11Speaker 1: take off the mask, what are you afraid of? Well,
- 0:14Speaker 1: we all know Ice Agians are actually afraid of their
- 0:16Speaker 1: families being threatened, themselves being threatened. And I just wonder
- 0:21Speaker 1: where that energy to have people unmasked, especially law enforcement
- 0:25Speaker 1: unmask was when in twenty twenty California, different cities in California,
- 0:31Speaker 1: I remember the Hollywood Strip had looters in masks going
- 0:35Speaker 1: in and out of stores during the pandemic, saying oh,
- 0:38Speaker 1: we got to wear a mask because of COVID. Yet
- 0:40Speaker 1: they were committing crimes wearing masks. Where was the energy
- 0:44Speaker 1: against the rioters who were wearing masks? Governor Newsom? And oh,
- 0:50Speaker 1: by the way, it's being of unmasking. Weren't you yourself
- 0:53Speaker 1: unmasked at a dinner for fifteen to twenty people? Well
- 0:57Speaker 1: I made that observation tonight on Shake it Off and Lucas.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Uh, Alex, what do you think? Do you think it's presidential? Though?
- 1:05Speaker 2: I don't think it's presidential. This is not his style.
- 1:08Speaker 2: He was Trump style or is Trump's style, But he
- 1:13Speaker 2: but newsom Mert is acting and that's also.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Well yeah, and he's also trying to say.
- 1:19Speaker 2: He comes off phony to begin with, Yes he does.
- 1:23Speaker 1: But also I've noticed him trying to be trying to
- 1:26Speaker 1: get more to the middle, which is also a good
- 1:28Speaker 1: job of acting. I mean, there's a lot of things
- 1:30Speaker 1: that he's been doing since even where he's tried to
- 1:33Speaker 1: win back the right. Newsom who of course I have
- 1:37Speaker 1: to say this lockdown everybody only to have a dinner
- 1:40Speaker 1: with fifteen or twenty people unmasked. I mean, that was
- 1:43Speaker 1: the start of his hypocrisy right there. Uh, he's not genuine.
- 1:47Speaker 1: He's not a genuine person. Also, why is he walking
- 1:49Speaker 1: to the White House when Biden's away from you know,
- 1:52Speaker 1: the White House? What's he trying to do claim a
- 1:54Speaker 1: stake there? He just comes off his phony and very
- 1:57Speaker 1: very icky, if you will. Whoa wait a minute, wait
- 2:01Speaker 1: a minute.
- 2:01Speaker 2: That sounds like you got.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Something, Alex. Sounds like he got some personal against the man. Well,
- 2:08Speaker 1: when you shut down a whole state, a whole state
- 2:11Speaker 1: of California and then show up unmasked at a dinner party,
- 2:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna have a problem. With it. Well you introduced it. Wait,
- 2:18Speaker 1: hold on a second. You you introduced this, I didn't.
- 2:21Speaker 1: But who was the administration in charge when everything was
- 2:24Speaker 1: shut down? Well, yeah, it was Trump's administration, but the
- 2:28Speaker 1: states took it upon themselves to uh to and unlock
- 2:32Speaker 1: everybody down beyond that power. Why this is firing me
- 2:35Speaker 1: up tonight is because I did some research on another
- 2:39Speaker 1: governor of California, in fact, the fortieth governor who was
- 2:42Speaker 1: the only governor of California to become President of the
- 2:45Speaker 1: United States, mister Ronald Reagan. President Ronald Reagan. And do
- 2:50Speaker 1: you know the topic was about welfare reforms. But it
- 2:57Speaker 1: says in his bio governor Reagan worked with the Democratic majority.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Let me read that. Reagan worked with the Democratic majority.
- 3:12Speaker 1: So not only is Governor Newsom not embodying the former
- 3:16Speaker 1: governor of California, he's just showing how far divided we've
- 3:21Speaker 1: gone as a country, and how far left and how
- 3:25Speaker 1: far fallen California has gone as a state. There's no
- 3:32Speaker 1: unity in Sacramento because you have a governor saying, hey,
- 3:37Speaker 1: what are you afraid of? That's not unifying, that's not
- 3:44Speaker 1: the spirit of most Californians. I don't think.
- 3:48Speaker 2: So.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Governor Newsom, maybe go back in the history books and
- 3:54Speaker 1: read that your predecessor, Governor Ronald Reagan worked with the
- 3:59Speaker 1: other side, Nancy Pelosi, though she's not in office anymore,
- 4:05Speaker 1: Maxine Waters. None of these people who are from California,
- 4:11Speaker 1: even Senator Kamala Harris VP. Kamala Harris, also from California,
- 4:20Speaker 1: they don't embody that governor that fortieth governor's spirit. Does
- 4:26Speaker 1: do they maybe to look back and see that a
- 4:31Speaker 1: Republican worked with a Democrat. Oh annoy me, I mean
- 4:36Speaker 1: sorry about Adam shiff don't wanna sorry about him. Another
- 4:41Speaker 1: Californian looney shifty shift. They're all have gone so far
- 4:51Speaker 1: away from that principle of bipartisanship. But if you just
- 4:57Speaker 1: look at Ronald Reagan's bio, Governor Reagan worked with the
- 5:01Speaker 1: Democratic majority. That's what we have to get back to.
- 5:08Speaker 1: And I call on Democrats more so than Repblicans. I
- 5:11Speaker 1: think the Republicans actually lean into the left a little
- 5:13Speaker 1: more than they should. Sometimes. They always want to do
- 5:17Speaker 1: the bipartisan thing and the left laughs at them. But
- 5:21Speaker 1: do the Democrats do that same kind of outreach. Not
- 5:25Speaker 1: always the Dems are the ones that says hit them high,
- 5:31Speaker 1: hit them low, YadA, YadA, YadA. The Democrats do seem
- 5:36Speaker 1: to be the ones that always say, hey, if you
- 5:40Speaker 1: see this Trump administrator screaming their face. But maybe this
- 5:49Speaker 1: calimtingent led by Governor Newsom could be less bombastic and
- 5:57Speaker 1: stop saying things like hey, Ice, what do you afraid of?
- 6:02Speaker 1: And started to realize your state was built even better
- 6:10Speaker 1: because you had bipartisanship at one time, and maybe you
- 6:16Speaker 1: have one leg up for California. You must look back
- 6:19Speaker 1: at the records of the fortieth governor turned President United States,
- 6:24Speaker 1: Ronald Reagan. I want to thank Martin Lucas for letting
- 6:28Speaker 1: me events because it was It pisses me off that
- 6:31Speaker 1: Governor knews him always thought he was high and mighty,
- 6:34Speaker 1: slick rick sly fox, but he's really a wolf in
- 6:38Speaker 1: sheep's clothing, and he's proved that every time out. He
- 6:45Speaker 1: mustn't have one leg up at the White House, even
- 6:48Speaker 1: though he toured it once. Spider was away for a
- 6:51Speaker 1: week and he was like, let me let me step
- 6:52Speaker 1: in there. If he wasn the what was that? What
- 6:58Speaker 1: was that? And yes, because he's from the Golden State,
- 7:03Speaker 1: I will say this. I thought maybe he did have
- 7:05Speaker 1: a chance to be the golden boy of the Democrat Party,
- 7:09Speaker 1: and maybe for the last bastion of moderate he could
- 7:14Speaker 1: be that. But I just happen to think that, uh,
- 7:26Speaker 1: there could be more unity and less thinking of twenty
- 7:33Speaker 1: twenty eight, because if there's not unity, there will not
- 7:37Speaker 1: be a twenty twenty eight. If there's no signs of
- 7:43Speaker 1: a Republican Democrat working with the Republicans, though of the
- 7:47Speaker 1: Democrat majority is always in office now, but if there's
- 7:52Speaker 1: no emboding of that spirit of bipartisanship, we may not
- 7:56Speaker 1: get to twenty twenty eight. And I'd love to get there,
- 8:00Speaker 1: wouldn't you.
