- 1:08SPEAKER_01: Uh him and Christopher.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: I watch it all the time.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: They're pretty good.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: So he's more the right wing and she's more left wing.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: Um then they have little debates and they report the news.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: So he's talking, he's really big on I hate gambling and marijuana.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: Like out of all the drugs, he hates marijuana.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: He's like an old white.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Should I spark some right now?
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: You should, yeah.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: Maybe in protest and protest.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: Hey, Marvel, we're looking for sponsorship.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Okay, we didn't we need to.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: So he's he does like a segment every now and then about gambling and what's bad.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: So obviously, LeBron James this past week or so his announcement, Sydney Sweeney.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: With Eli and all that big commercial.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and um, yeah, and um Spike Lee was in it too.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: And a whole bunch of stars who you would think wouldn't do this are in it.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: And then uh Sydney Sweeney is partner and uh mascot for this new one, and she had her titties out just showing everything off the gate.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: Great Nature.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: Great Nat.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so um uh I'll play a little bit of this in a minute.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: Play a quick edition.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: Let me see.
- 2:01SPEAKER_04: Uh so you might think, you know, just just because it's me uh that we're covering this.
- 2:04SPEAKER_04: Oh, pause that shit real quick.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Pause that shit.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: Hold on, pause this shit.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Is this the guy we're supposed to be believing?
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: This guy with talking?
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: He's pretty legit.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: He's a legit journalist.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Okay, uh Saga's been around for a minute.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't like his teeth though.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: His teeth are phony.
- 2:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he's something swarmy about him.
- 2:18SPEAKER_02: Go on though.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: His teeth.
- 2:22SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 2:23SPEAKER_02: And Marvel, we we judged the hell out of him before he even said anything.
- 2:26SPEAKER_02: His sound.
- 2:27SPEAKER_03: His sound is all.
- 2:29SPEAKER_03: All right, let's go.
- 2:30SPEAKER_04: NFL Sunday.
- 2:31SPEAKER_04: Uh and so casual fans, you watch the games, you have a good time, uh, hang out, maybe eat some you know, unhealthy food, and that's the worst of your problems.
- 2:39SPEAKER_04: But increasingly, what has now happened is a deluge of gambling advertising from the traditional sports books now to the so-called prediction markets.
- 2:47SPEAKER_04: And just to take a step back and remind us, the Trump administration has effectively legalized gambling in all 50 states, making it available to Texas and California, two of the states with the largest population.
- 2:58SPEAKER_04: So for the first time in American history, this was the first NFL Sunday where you could gamble in all 50 states.
- 3:04SPEAKER_04: The numbers are in.
- 3:05SPEAKER_04: The numbers are in, and they're absolutely shocking to nobody if you don't see the rise of this.
- 3:11SPEAKER_04: They were shocking to me.
- 3:12SPEAKER_04: But let me see.
- 3:14SPEAKER_04: What you got on this addiction?
- 3:16SPEAKER_04: Let's go ahead and put D3 up here on the screen.
- 3:19SPEAKER_04: A record of some$14.1 billion was bet on prediction markets just in the last week.
- 3:28SPEAKER_04: Sports that were particularly favorable for these prediction markets included not only the US Open tennis match, but also, as they say, the start of the NFL regular season.
- 3:37SPEAKER_04: So that puts you at tens of billions of dollars in a single week that were gambled on these platforms.
- 3:44SPEAKER_04: You might then wonder what exactly are all of these bets going towards?
- 3:49SPEAKER_04: And you would be yo.
- 3:50SPEAKER_04: Yo, okay.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: That's crazy.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: I have a statement to make.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Listen to what I'm saying.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Listen to what I'm saying.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna hold my mic like this.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: 401k is dead.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Oh motherfuckers ain't putting no motherfuckers like six percent.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: She'll yo match that to my cow.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: I put yo, DraftKings motherfucker.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Yo, but that's real.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Yo, these Gen Z kids.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: Did you hear that news story about that high school?
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: I think it was a high school teacher, like let her kids get on her phone, and they won 120,000 and now she like they're gonna be able to get a big money.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: No, she lost her job, but I don't know what else I don't know.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: I wanna I didn't want to like get into it too much, but nah, like this is legit happening.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: But look, it's a it's a dice roll.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: Because think about this.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: And I'm gonna say this and start playing.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: Yo, this we're gonna have another economic crash.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: So you fuck your 401k people.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: Mine's fucked.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I can't touch it.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: I'm trying, yo.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna say this.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: I don't mean it.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: I got a nine to five.
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: I got a little nine to five.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: But I hope you lay me off before the beginning of the year so I can cash out my 401k before this.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: It's useless.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: Bro, when the stock market crashes, you saw them niggas that was broke after 2008?
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Yo, you know how long it would have taken them just to get back to where they started in the 401k?
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: You never get back though, you're always chasing it.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: Look, if they kept it in another 20 years, we have to work another 20 years.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: Like, that's crazy.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: But can I address this guy right here?
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: What's his name again?
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: Sagar.
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: Sager and Jetty.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, whatever.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: Nice watch.
- 5:32SPEAKER_02: But um Hello Rolly.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: The gambling thing.
- 5:35SPEAKER_02: Is that a Rolly?
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: The gambling thing is kind of problematic.
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna fuck it.
- 5:40SPEAKER_02: And I am a gambler.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: I I do like to bet.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: You know, I did pretty good.
- 5:44SPEAKER_02: Um college football's been really good to me this week.
- 5:46SPEAKER_02: Oh, nice.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Um, but we should we should add some of our bets in.
- 5:50SPEAKER_02: We should, we should, because no, we don't want to do that.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: We need sponsorship first from FanDuel.
- 5:54SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah um, we so, but no, he is a hundred he's a hundred percent right though.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: We should do a we should do a weekend college bet and an NFL bet, honestly, because people people love that, honestly.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: Well, it should be a good one.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: We'll call it this.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: We should name that to him.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: Sharps, uh a sharp session.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: We could each do one pick, one pick, yeah, a money line, a money line, uh two a two layer.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Money line, a point spread, a money line, a point spread, and then a parlay.
- 6:24SPEAKER_02: How much money you lose on a Michigan two weeks ago?
- 6:27SPEAKER_02: Yo said that.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: Yo did that.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: Michigan two weeks ago.
- 6:30SPEAKER_02: Two weeks ago.
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: Michigan two and oh, yo.
- 6:33SPEAKER_02: Pull up.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: Show them the show them the plaque, yo.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: Show him if you did the spread, I don't think you won anything, right?
- 6:41SPEAKER_02: Show show them the plaque, yo.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: All right, we got a segment to do here.
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: Let's finish this up.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: No, but he's he's 100% right.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: Gambling is super crazy.
- 6:50SPEAKER_02: And if we had this when we was younger, yeah, we all would have been in trouble.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: We all would have been in trouble.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: I mean the lucky of us probably would have done better.
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: Look, I would have I would have been I would have been I would have been a little bit more.
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: But it's not luck though.
- 7:00SPEAKER_02: It's it's just you're just you try to do the best you can, but it's like they said, like it's a roll of the dice.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: It really is.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: It's a dice game, though, man.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: You don't know you lose your job tomorrow, you lose your health tomorrow.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: You get all types of shit.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: Like, no, that's true.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: And and to your point, look, you can live to 50 or you can live to 90.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: Look, like that bullshit that Trumpy talking.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: Like you had sort of a point where you said, I'm getting my 5,000.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: We're just talking about bullshit.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: You ain't getting shit.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: Um, I just voted for whoever he said.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: Regardless of politics and all that shit, this is an even playing field for stupidity.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: If you're good or you're bad, if you're just rolling the dice, like yo, I rolled a dice on a couple of short things.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: You know, I told I told y'all about that uh that that$20,000 bet on a 5-0 at the halftime and I lost it all.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: He you just said I rolled a dice on a couple of short things.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: So I just need you to explain.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: I just want yo.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: There is no short thing, yo.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: Well, that's why.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: Like somebody's like, somebody's like, hey, give me a dollar and I'll give you two dollars tomorrow for sure.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Well, well, yeah, well, this is I told you this.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: I'll tell the story real quick that the about the um the soccer match.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Five nothing at halftime.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: Five nothing.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: I put 20 G's on it to make like$20 or some shit.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: I put 20 G's.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: These motherfuckers scored six goals in the half, after the half.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: I'm almost like, is this like esports or something?
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: But were they playing?
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know you was watching that shit like no game didn't.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: Were they playing Deba on PlayStation?
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: And I bet on that?
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: Was I playing were I bet on esports even?
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: No, it's this game.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: Now, mind you, people, there's a whole there's a lot of nuance minus 2000.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna$20,000 at shit at the time.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: But no, I had one a big, a big pot of it.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: I've I've lost I've lost a parlay with like a minus 300 in there.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, a minus 300?
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: Like, god damn.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: That's why gambling.
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: At least at least give me that.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: Gambling's bad.
- 9:04SPEAKER_02: Let's say that's like losing on a 20.
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: Well, it's not it's not that it's it's not that it's bad, it's just it's oversaturated now with people who just don't know what they're doing.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: Well, that move some of them.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: And it's so easy to do.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: These markets, this is what's scary about this shit, because dummies can move these markets or cheaters.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: Like, if you know that you can do certain things to manipulate the odds and you're a and you're a whale in this situation, yeah.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: You'll you'll win.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: But like, how many people are on the the solid end of that know enough to that very little in the right way?
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: Less than one percent.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Oh, we knew we were gonna catch Maduro uh this date, right?
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: And then people get into that market and buy.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: That's why these things are these betting markets are they're investigating people on that though.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but yeah, but that's the thing.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: They shouldn't exist.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: This is not that's this isn't the you're saying it's it's just like insider trading, it's all that type of stuff, and they're not regulated, but you can't regulate people saying, hey, I think it's gonna rain tomorrow.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: Or I think that the uh, you know, um uh this person's gonna jaywalk at this traffic light that they're watching.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: Like people bet on their most random shit and pay markets for it, and that's what they're doing here, and it's fucked up because some big person somebody could say, Oh, I know enough about you know, whatever, and set up a market for it on there, put money in it, like say, hey, I'm gonna bet 50,000, 100,000, and then people can pay, start paying attention to it and then get in on that action, and then they think, okay, I'm gonna bet on this and then that.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: But the one person, one person really knows the outcome, and they're gonna take all your money.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: I have an idea.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: I have an idea.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: I think they already did it.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: No, this is actually this is actually a good idea.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: How about this?
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: Guys, whoever's listening, we're starting a poly market, and it's gonna be our uh our our final episode.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: You can bet.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: You can bet.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: It can be 15.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: It could have been last week, bro.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: It could be 20, it could be 25.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: You look, put up your money.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: 20 or 25.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: You think we're gonna last another 15 episodes?
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: We'll be out.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: We'll we'll be honest.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: Oh, we'll be 100%.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: And I'm not gonna I'm not gonna know who I'm not gonna know how many episodes.
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: All we gotta do is shut the channel down and start another one.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: That's the way you win.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: We shut this down and start another one in episode one.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: That's how fucked up he is.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: It's like it's like comic books, you know.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: It'll be like episode anyway.
- 11:22SPEAKER_02: Anyway, we got we got yo, you're a mess.
- 11:24SPEAKER_02: What else you got, bro?
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, this is some more.
- 11:27SPEAKER_02: By the way, is this is this is this guy on just YouTube or is he on MSNBC?
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: He used to be um, he used to be on Fox.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: No, no, he used to be on um the hill.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: What's that picture behind him?
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: Is that real or is that AI?
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: Might be AI, who knows?
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: This is gonna be our little mini episode by kind of drawing on it.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's this is a longer segment, so I'm gonna turn this on a mini episode, so don't worry about talking over or whatever.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: We got a couple more topics anyway.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: But what you got?
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: No, let's just uh no let's finish.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: I just want to go into the Sydney Sweeney thing and then we'll we'll we'll yo, you got that ad?
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, play that.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: That's in here, I think.
- 12:01SPEAKER_04: Shocked to learn that a huge portion of these bets are going to traditional combos, otherwise known as a parlay bet, of which you might as well just be handing your money over to the sports books.
- 12:14SPEAKER_04: This comes on the heels of an advertising push where, you know, this crystal wearers was like, we have no shame in our society anymore.
- 12:21SPEAKER_04: You got LeBron James, who the current whatever net worth estimator has him around a bill.
- 12:26SPEAKER_04: Whether it's 1.1 billion or 800 million, it doesn't make a difference.
- 12:29SPEAKER_04: He never has to work a day in his life.
- 12:31SPEAKER_04: Eli Manning, I mean, you know, the Manning brothers and all that, they've got enough Bud Light money in the can that they could literally do nothing.
- 12:38SPEAKER_04: They do this for choice, they do it for the paycheck.
- 12:41SPEAKER_04: You got Spike Lee of all people here.
- 12:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:44SPEAKER_04: The guy named Malcolm X is out here shilling for polymarket.
- 12:48SPEAKER_04: So that's the ad I'm about to show you.
- 12:50SPEAKER_04: Here's LeBron James appearing.
- 12:52SPEAKER_04: By the way, he followed this up with his polymarket picks uh for the NFL season.
- 12:57SPEAKER_04: Here was his ad for polymarket.
- 13:05SPEAKER_03: Coming in hot.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: Always be planning free line.
- 13:25SPEAKER_02: Cheater.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: Let's get to it.
- 13:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:32SPEAKER_04: Man, Craig from the office?
- 13:33SPEAKER_04: How could you, Craig?
- 13:34SPEAKER_04: How could you?
- 13:35SPEAKER_04: Uh so you got this guy.
- 13:39SPEAKER_04: This is kind of funny, yo.
- 13:40SPEAKER_04: It's corny, but kind of funny.
- 13:42SPEAKER_04: If you it's so funny they call themselves prediction markets.
- 13:45SPEAKER_04: You can literally go on their website and live bet the spread per quarter.
- 13:50SPEAKER_04: So, like the spread, like literally about who's gonna be up per quarter, all of the future prop app.
- 13:56SPEAKER_04: It is completely indistinguishable from any of the sports books.
- 14:00SPEAKER_04: In fact, I downloaded the PolyMarket app at one point on Saturday, or sorry, on Friday, or Thursday, whenever the uh Rams and the 49ers were playing.
- 14:10SPEAKER_04: There were 180,000 people in the live chat who were live chatting about the trades that they were making.
- 14:18SPEAKER_04: And they've even gamified it so that there's a little tag next to your name about how much money you have on the game and in which way.
- 14:26SPEAKER_04: And they're all shit talking each other and then encouraging each other to put even more on parlay.
- 14:31SPEAKER_04: I've never seen anything like this in my life.
- 14:33SPEAKER_04: Like this collaborative, it's literally like a streaming thing.
- 14:36SPEAKER_04: Everybody's just more money.
- 14:39SPEAKER_04: Now we've got sponsorship.
- 14:47SPEAKER_04: And so my new favorite is called Novig.
- 14:51SPEAKER_01: This is the Sydney Sweeney shit.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: So contact, she's like she's an investor in this too.
- 14:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but decided that gambling, chilling for the sin of gambling was not enough.
- 15:00SPEAKER_04: Let's combine it with softcore pornography of Sydney Sweeney.
- 15:05SPEAKER_04: So here, take a listen.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: Thank you, no sports.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:10SPEAKER_02: No big ass.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: I'm about to bet right now.
- 15:13SPEAKER_04: So they wanted a show.
- 15:16SPEAKER_04: Just sports.
- 15:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Just sports.
- 15:19SPEAKER_04: So yeah, that's America now.
- 15:20SPEAKER_04: Uh just Sydney Sweeney being naked and chilling for just sports.
- 15:24SPEAKER_04: I believe she made some quote where she was like, oh, it's better because it's just sports.
- 15:27SPEAKER_04: You can't bet on what color my.
- 15:28SPEAKER_04: Yo, he's acting like there wasn't titties in beer ads and shit.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: Drugs and play books just fucking beer with titties.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: Come on, being a bit more.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: Like Jane, Jane Mansfield, Merlin Monroe.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: Like I think he's I think he might be against alcohol too.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: This dude's a square.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: But has everyone agree with soup models?
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: This is a now at least he's swarmy.
- 15:49SPEAKER_02: He's very swarm.
- 15:49SPEAKER_02: I don't think he's a good thing.
- 15:51SPEAKER_02: Which means he's got a lot of shit he's hiding.
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: That just means he got a lot of shit he's hiding, basically.
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: Maybe, maybe.
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: Um, but not a lot of conservatives are like that.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: Well, is he even conservative or he's just like a home?
- 16:01SPEAKER_02: He thinks his way is so like righteous.
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: He's can he he seems like he's very my way's the righteous way and my way's the best way.
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: Well, that's a conservative for you, but uh at the end of the day, I think that um he's actually sincere in his possibly.
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: He's very critical of Trump uh and a lot of the conservatives for the most part.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: Where's he where'd he grow up?
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: Where'd he grow up?
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: I can't tell you if he's questioning where did he grow up?
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: I mean, come on.
- 16:28SPEAKER_02: Anyway, listen, the Sweeney ad, I mean, come on, like the ads have been done.
- 16:34SPEAKER_02: That's that's been literally done since probably like the 1800s.
- 16:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:39SPEAKER_02: Like someone hot who's doing some dumb shit.
- 16:41SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: Oh, he he's from Qatar.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: Oh, spent the year of high school in Qatar and that's all he married a white woman in Rhode Island.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: I no no shade or anything, like his wife ain't.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: No, but where's he where did where did he go from?
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: Like, where did he go to high school or middle school?
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: That's what I'm trying to figure out.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: Uh oh, he went to George Washington University in Georgetown.
- 17:05SPEAKER_01: Sure, sure.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: So he's a he's a homeboy, he's low.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: He was born in 1992.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: I don't know much else about him.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: Oh, wait, born in Texas, Texas.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: Texas.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: But he spent a lot of time in the DMV R area.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: And both his parents were professors at Texas AM.
- 17:20SPEAKER_02: Sure, sure.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: He's very smart.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: I'm sure he's very smart.
- 17:25SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes, so do I.
- 17:26SPEAKER_02: He's a very nice guy, but he just seems very he's just too righteous for me.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: Who the hell I'm on here and say gambling is bad.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: No, the abuse of gambling is bad.
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: All right?
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: If you don't have no money to gamble, it's bad.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: Everything is bad.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: Ice cream is bad.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: If you got diabetes, well the accents are different now.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: Before you had to go to a casino or a sports book, it's probably too much accent.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: I agree with that.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: I 100% agree with that.
- 17:54SPEAKER_02: But if if if you want to bet$25 on college football games, NFL games, what who the hell are you to say you can't do that?
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be that probably that or something else at the end of the day.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and and gambling is an addiction.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: Like, look, I go I've gone through my ups and downs with it over the past couple of years.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: Uh and more recently, I had a little little little little bender.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: Sean knows about it.
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: I don't even know what the fuck did I just do?
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: What happened?
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: Like, all types of shit, right?
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: But uh you, you know, for me personally, I can go cold turkey and not gamble, regardless of what money I have or not.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm not broke, but I'm not throwing more money at it, understanding like, oh shit, what I just do.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: But there was a point, and you know, you guys know that story where I just lost all of my mind.
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but here we go.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: Let me ask you this way ahead.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: Way ahead.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: Like, let me ask you money.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: Is is is that more of a is that more tied toward you or the gambling, if that makes sense?
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: Like, did you get out of control because of the gambling, or did you get out of control because maybe you were just getting out of control?
- 19:03SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: Like, like, you know what I mean?
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, that's right.
- 19:06SPEAKER_02: Are we using gambling per se as the crutch in this?
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: No, uh no.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: I think I I I don't have an addictive personality.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: Let's just put it this way.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: I could go smoke crack tomorrow.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: Maybe a few times, and not could get it.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: And then now how do how do we broke it?
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, I'm just saying.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: I'm saying I don't have an addictive personality.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: You know, I could I drink alcohol.
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: If I drink alcohol, if I do this, that I don't get a marvelous one.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: Where's the soundboard for that one?
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: Well, I think I I don't think you can address whether or not you have an addictive I don't think you can address whether or not you have an addictive personality.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: Until you end it proclaiming proclaiming that you could do crack and you never have.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: No, that's that's a if I would do it, no, if I want to do it, I probably would not get addicted to it.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: But that's like that's like I can fly, but I'm not a pilot, kind of jump out of a window.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: My point there being is.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: If you do crack, you'll be addicted.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: Gambling most of the things.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: Because my dad, my dad used to gamble, not like like have the same thing like me.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: Go if he's at the casino, we'll put some money down, whatever.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: But when I get into it, and I'm just sitting there, like, I'll just keep going.
- 20:15SPEAKER_01: Like one time I I looked at my bank account and I had like five G's within an hour.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: Now I'm talking like small transactions because they let you now they let you put your debit card in there, and all I did was these things, I was like, all right, I'm just gonna do 50 bucks.
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: All right, 200, 300, 400, then I'm winning some, and I'm like, all right, you know what I'm gonna do?
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna take it right out.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: Then I know I'm gonna keep it.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: And then I'm like, oh, I'll just take a little bit back off the top.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: And as I did it to Matt, I was on the phone with him one day, and I'm adding up these numbers.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: I was like 20, 50, 60, 70.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: I was like, hold on, da da da.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: And it racked up to like 6,000 something dollars.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: He's like, well, how much did you win?
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: I looked at, I was like, one, two, I took out 200, I took out 500, I took out a hundred, I took out 50.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: And then I was like, I took out 1200.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: I won 3000, but I gave it.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: So he's like, he's like, and he's like, but you just said you were ahead.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: That sounds like you lost five thousand dollars.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: And then I was like, and I'm like, and I'm sitting here like, damn, bro.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: And then to me, see, I lose track of these because that I think my compulsiveness and that and that, I don't think that's addiction.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: I think it's compulsion.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: Well, that's that well, compulsion is an addiction.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: They're kind of like in the same, they're like cousins.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: I I look at things all types of weird ways.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: Anyway, but yeah, me personally, I can go months without gambling.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: Like I've right now, I'm like off it.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna do it anymore because it's just right now my brain's in other places.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: You know, doing this with you guys is fun.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: Listen to this is fun.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: I might have to get down on some of these predictive markets of this sound.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, you know what's so funny.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: You know what's so funny?
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say before you were finished with that sentence, I was gonna say that you're gonna gamble again.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: And then you told me you're gonna gamble again.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: Cause you said I'm not lying.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: You said I'm like I know, but you're not gonna be like anything, I'm an honest person.
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Pretend that I ain't gonna do something.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna get right back, yo.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna get right back, yo.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna get right back.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: Let me put it back on full screen.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: There's too many motherfuckers out here that lie about everything.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: Like you lie to yourself.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: But the minute you start lying to yourself or not being honest or so or self-aware, I'm a very self-aware person.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, you're I know a lot of the shit that I do to myself, my body, or whatever, is is going to affect me in the long term.
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: Now, do I have the right the right mind to say, hey, I can make a change?
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: But it's hard.
- 22:33SPEAKER_01: It's hard to say, oh, I don't want to eat fried chicken tomorrow, or or I don't, I'm sorry, I can't say fried chicken because that's bad.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: Let me see.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: Um uh gross duck larange.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: Is that better, Sean?
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: Is that is that more culture for you?
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: Uh oh, okay.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: We're not gonna be able to do it.
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, some French channels.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: You need to go to roots a chicken.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: You hear that?
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: If somebody's called a chicken, that's a derogatory term.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: Duck LaRange, yeah.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: I'm uh look, I I'm trying to.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: You duck out, get out of scene.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: The one the one thing I'm always gonna say is I'll be honest with myself, with other people, self-deprecating at times, all types of good stuff that, but also just that self-awareness keeps me level-headed, keeps me honest with myself, and on the righteous path to do better, right?
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: That's the way I look at it.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: Some people don't like that shit.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: Some people don't like to be told the truth.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: A lot of people like to be lied.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: Like when you walked into a when you walk into a room and everybody's hey, you look good, when you know you just gained 20 pounds, or you know you didn't do your hair or whatever, and you didn't get in uh shape.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: Hugh, Hugh, I just have one question.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: Are we still talking about gambling?
- 23:36SPEAKER_02: No, I'm just talking, we're talking about you know we're talking about we're talking about compulsive, compulsive in the world.
- 23:41SPEAKER_02: Anyway, no, yeah, I went off on a table either way.
- 23:43SPEAKER_02: They're right.
- 23:43SPEAKER_02: No, it's cool.
- 23:44SPEAKER_02: It's just the compulsiveness part of it is maybe a lot of people with this gambling thing.
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and it's so easy to gamble.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: Well, it's gonna be one thing or the other.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like you see the lottery winners, they'll they'll lose 20, 30 million in like in a year.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: And it's like you said that's I'll never do that.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: It's like oh people, you know, it's like, oh yeah, I want 30 million, I'm broke as shit.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't need nothing.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 24:13SPEAKER_01: Repo in that Lamborghini and Bugatti you bought and that house.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I saw that A con.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: You saw that A-con clip where he took his million-dollar advance, he bought his mother a house, he bought, he gave out all the money to his friends and family, he bought himself a car, and then he bought he bought himself a house but mortgaged it, and then he was broke, and then they repoed the car and the how and the house got foreclosed on, and then he made a hit record, and then he became whatever he is now.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: But he was like, I didn't know what I was he didn't even pay taxes yet.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: Like he owed taxes, all this crazy shit.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: And he had a million dollars just sitting there, he just gave it all away on some bullshit.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: Well, I and some of the NBA players have talked about stories with their financial literacy is an important thing.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: They're giving money away or they're taking money out and stuff like that.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: I mean, the way they get money, you know how much money they get.
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: It's so much, and and they just play two.
- 25:03SPEAKER_02: Yo, well, football's a little different because they're more structured in a way, but basketball, like you said, you 18, 19 years old, they get paid every two weeks like we do.
- 25:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's how crazy.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: I didn't know that.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: I thought they had a contract and they get to pay the months some.
- 25:17SPEAKER_02: No, we had a buddy, of course, we have a big great buddy of ours that's uh played in the NFL and they had Bank of America checks.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: Straight up.
- 25:24SPEAKER_02: Like Chris Cooley was the player on that team, and he had to go to a Bank of America, and it was like the check was like$13 million, and he tried to go there like, yo, cash this for me.
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: And then, like, yo, we're in a freaking giant, we're in a supermarket.
- 25:37SPEAKER_02: Like, no, I don't have$13 million here.
- 25:40SPEAKER_02: Like, they just he just didn't know better.
- 25:42SPEAKER_02: He literally just didn't know better.
- 25:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: So, and now I mean financial literacy is kind of baked into this when you get an agent and all that, but who do you trust?
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: And then whatever.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: But not we got poly markets, you can put all in polymarkets.
- 25:55SPEAKER_02: And listen, another thing before we before we before we jump onto another subject, listen, LeBron James, his mentor is his mentor is Jay-Z.
- 26:03SPEAKER_02: All right, LeBron James cares about a couple things raising a beautiful family, which he has done, playing basketball, which he's done miraculously for about 24 years, and making a shit ton of money.
- 26:14SPEAKER_02: He don't care how that money's made.
- 26:16SPEAKER_02: It ain't up to him to be righteous, it ain't up to him to be uh uh uh uh the the the the the voice of the people.
- 26:22SPEAKER_02: He makes money, all right?
- 26:24SPEAKER_02: That's it.
- 26:25SPEAKER_02: That's it, that's all his job is to do.
- 26:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, shoot hoops and take care of his family.
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: Can I tell you something though?
- 26:31SPEAKER_01: Like with black people specifically, they always expect us to be like, why aren't you doing the right thing for the right?
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: Well, everybody, like nobody's criticizing Eli Manning.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: No, and he's like he's a square guy, too.
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: Like, whatever.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: You don't see him doing anything bad, but uh, it's all right for him to do this shit.
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: LeBron, no, you gotta be like this.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: LeBron's gotta be perfect.
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: Like, get that.
- 26:53SPEAKER_01: But they did that with Obama when he was president, it was they criticizing him for wearing the wrong color suit.
- 26:58SPEAKER_01: Like, yo, look, we want to be part of this this money-making economy just like every other person that's in it, right?
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: Why do black people always have to stand on the bridge in Selma and get bit by dogs and shit for the same race that white people have?
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: It's like you gotta prove it's like uh even you know to this day.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: I mean, back then it made sense, but not now.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: It's like in the highest height, we have to prove a struggle, and that's the whole dynamic of that's our whole it still is a struggle though.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: But but uh, but no, but listen, this is the whole dynamic of having to grow up in the hood to ver validate your blackness, and that separates you from the house.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: Wait, who the fuck says that?
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: No, okay, never mind.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: No, I'm not I'm trying to explain.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: No, I'm trying to explain to you.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: I grew up in the situation, like that's what it would be.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but that's not that's not that doesn't validate your blackness.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: I know, I know only the hood niggas that validate their blackness.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: Nobody gives a shit about that shit like that.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: But what I'm saying, but what I'm saying is a segment between the suburbs and the hood, even when kids move from the hood to the suburbs or vice versa.
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: It's a and it's an assimilation into that situation, as far as like I I gotta be this, right?
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: And I'm black because I'm this, and it doesn't have to be because we hood or because we street.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: We can be black the same way someone can be white or Asian or otherwise, right?
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: Like, and that's that's the dynamic that always I struggle with because we always have this dynamic of we have a shield, like yeah, we have to prove ourselves amongst our own people when we see each other and we want representation and we see representation and we glorify representation, but we don't glorify representation within our own community.
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: We say the you could be the lightest skinned black person to be the first, but ultimately in that neighborhood, if you're that same black person, you were tormented.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: And that's the problem that we have to address because we glorify when we get to a certain level as far as the first this and that, but we don't glorify that's that smart kid down the block, that's that kid right there over the middle of the room.
- 29:03SPEAKER_02: He's doing good things, he's in the good, yeah, he's in the middle of talking to the older brother, like talking to the older sister, like look after, you know, your your siblings and all that kind of stuff.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: Like that that that's the part that we're missing.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: We we we we we trying to be hard.
- 29:21SPEAKER_00: You know, it's like Jada Pigan said, trying to be so damn hard.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: You know?
