- 0:00Psalm 24 from the book of Psalms.
- 0:04First let's pray. Dear Lord, please open our
- 0:06hearts, our minds to what you have to say.
- 0:10We ask this in Jesus name. The earth is the Lord's and
- 0:16everything in it, the world and all who live in it.
- 0:20For he founded it on the seas and established it on the
- 0:24waters. Thou may ascend the mountain of
- 0:27the Lord, who may stand in His holy place, the one who has
- 0:32clean hands and a pure heart, and who does not trust in an
- 0:35idol or swear by a false God. They will receive blessing from
- 0:41the Lord and vindication from God their Saviour.
- 0:46Such is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek your
- 0:50face. God of Jacob, lift up your
- 0:53heads, your gates, be lifted up you ancient doors, that the King
- 0:58of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory?
- 1:02The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
- 1:05Lift up your heads, you gates. Lift them up you ancient doors,
- 1:10that the King of glory may come in.
- 1:13Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty, He is the
- 1:17King of glory. So as I've mentioned before,
- 1:22that's the end of Psalm 24. As I mentioned before, I look up
- 1:26Lord and, and God every time I see them now, just wanting to
- 1:31understand if there is a different word that's used or if
- 1:36it's the same word. And throughout this Psalm, all
- 1:39of the references to Lord refer to the personal name of God.
- 1:45Yeah, which we say Yahweh, but it's W hyh and and then the
- 1:55there is one differentiator here and it's it's in verse 5 where
- 2:00it says they will receive blessing from the Lord.
- 2:03That's the personal name and vindication from God, their
- 2:08Savior. God is translated from the
- 2:12Hebrew Elohim, the plural the Trinity there and their savior
- 2:18is Yesa or yeshah Yeshah. I think it's how it's said and
- 2:23isn't. I just think that's interesting
- 2:25because it's talking about their savior and or their salvation
- 2:30and it's that word that is Jesus name Yeshua means salvation and
- 2:38it's interesting. So it's kind of like Elohim, the
- 2:42Trinity, and then their savior, which sounds like Yeshua.
- 2:48So very interesting words here. And then also it just seems like
- 2:52this is like, who's going to be the king?
- 2:54I mean, God is the creator of all and he overseas everything.
- 3:01He puts kings in place, He puts leaders in, He allows it to
- 3:04happen, and he takes them out if he doesn't want them to be there
- 3:09or if he can't use what they're doing.
- 3:11He uses people's own free will to accomplish his plans.
- 3:15Scripture tells us all of that. But who is this king of glory?
- 3:20This also to me seems like a reference once again to Jesus
- 3:25because we know that when Jesus returns, he will be known as the
- 3:29King of King in the Lord of Lords, and he will be ruling
- 3:32from Jerusalem. And whether or not David was
- 3:37thinking about that or prophesying in that way, it
- 3:40surely does seem like Jesus. So now I'm going to go through
- 3:44the Bible, the study, Bibles, questions and answers.
- 3:47This is going to be a short one and then we'll wrap up.
- 3:51So what was the mountain of the Lord Mount Zion on which the
- 3:55temple was built? The Holy Place can refer to any
- 3:58area of the temple courts, but most specifically it refers to
- 4:03the first room inside the temple.
- 4:06How can a heart be made pure? This is a descriptive way to
- 4:12refer to pure motives. We must sincerely desire God's
- 4:16mercy and forgiveness, otherwise we cannot approach Him.
- 4:20In fact, the only way to have a pure heart is through the grace
- 4:25of God, which He grants in response to our faith and
- 4:31obedience. So what?
- 4:36What gates and doors did the Lord enter?
- 4:41In ancient times, when a king returned victorious from battle,
- 4:46the gates of the city were opened and the citizens would
- 4:49receive him with adoration and praise.
- 4:53David used this metaphor to describe the Lord entering the
- 4:57gates of Jerusalem to the cheers and praises of his people so
- 5:02that he could live among them. Well, if that's what David was
- 5:06referring to, that means the future time.
- 5:09Actually, this will be the second time that Jesus did that.
- 5:11When he does return, because he will be king, He will be ruling
- 5:15from Jerusalem. We know that from other
- 5:16prophecy, but interestingly enough, Jesus did that.
- 5:22I guess that was on. Oh gosh, when he was brought in,
- 5:29it was Palm Sunday, what we refer to as Palm Sunday, where
- 5:33they were waving the palms in it at him.
- 5:35And they were, you know, saying blessed is he.
- 5:37I thought they said blessed is he who comes in the name of the
- 5:39Lord. I'm not sure if they said that
- 5:42or not, but they were worshipping him and they were
- 5:46singing and praising when he rode in on a donkey and there
- 5:49was this procession into Jerusalem.
- 5:52And I think that was also the time where Jesus was saying
- 5:56Jerusalem, Jerusalem, how I would I would long to gather you
- 6:00like chicks and put you under my wing, but you would not have it.
- 6:05So it's very interesting. I think a a couple Times Now, I
- 6:09think he did it symbolically, but then he's going to do it
- 6:13once again. And the people were cheering and
- 6:16it wasn't very long after that that he was actually crucified.
- 6:19So it was a very short lived celebration at that time.
- 6:24But I think this does seem like some of the Psalms of David.
- 6:29He could have been like in the spirit.
- 6:31He could have been like receiving the Holy Spirit and
- 6:35just saying these things and writing them down when he was
- 6:40making this music or these poems and saying these things could
- 6:44have, I mean, we, we know that the scripture is the inspired
- 6:48word of God and it's inspired by the Holy Spirit.
- 6:51So obviously David was inspired, but in a prophetic way, it
- 6:55almost seems at this point. So anyway, that is all that I
- 6:59have to contribute for this and if you want to stay in the word,
- 7:04I do try to do this every day. So subscribe if you want to do
- 7:08that. If you feel this was beneficial,
- 7:11please share it with somebody else and hope you return.
- 7:14Thank you.
